“I Would Hold the Sky for You...”
Writing under the cut.
I know I said a LOOOONG while ago (haha, whoops!) that I was gonna write a whole little series, but I’ve lost fire and also could not come up with a suitable idea for how to continue chapter two! So I figure the least I could do is share chapter 1. Yes, I even had a title for it. Either I’ll come up with an idea at some point and chapter 2 sees the light of day. Or someone else can honestly take over writing it if they want. *shrug emoji*
It’s not beta read or even really proofread. But I hope ya’ll enjoy what I was trying to go for anyway.
Yes, I headcanon’d that Reaver’s original name was Jack.
“Where the hell did that boy go now?!”
“Did you check by the docks? You know one of the best spots is down there.”
“Bah, there’s too much commotion down there for fishing today- ship’s just come in.”
“Then why aren’t you there offering an extra hand?”
A cloudy day was perfect for fishing. One might then reasonably expect any young man skipping chores to be hanging around the docks with the rest of the sailors and fishermen, chatting away while at least one complains about their bad luck and lack of dinner. For this guess, one would normally be right, but on this day Jack and his childhood friend Brom were in the nearby woods instead.
“I bet I can hit that red X painted high up there!” Jack shook his head, not even bothering to respond to Brom’s boast. Brom puffed out his chest, swiped a lock of dirty blonde hair from his eye, and took an awful long time to aim. The throwing knife zoomed past, landing on the ground further out with a soft ‘thunk.’
“Looks like you owe me five gold.”
“Wh-what?! Yous never said anything about accepting the bet!”
    “Didn’t have to.”
Jack picked up the knife and walked back to where Brom was standing. He then proceeded to walk a little farther, turn on his heel and throw the knife right into the center of the X without stopping to properly aim. Brom sighed and clambered halfway up the trunk to retrieve it. His descent was as equally graceful, as a nearby pile of leaves was scattered by his landing.
“I swear your skill is supernatural.”
“I’m not that good,” Jack shrugged the compliment off. “It’s just called careful study and practice. Maybe if you didn’t chase after pretty girls at the bar all night, you’d be half as good as I am. Ow!” Brom playfully punched his friend’s arm.
“Big talk coming from someone that already has a girl! You don’t know what it’s like being single- you and Dahlia been tied together since we was kids.”
“You know what I hear, Brom? I hear a lot of excuses. C’mon, try to follow my movements for five seconds and maybe you’ll learn something. I’ll even slow down so you won’t miss a thing.”
“Actually,” Brom shook his head, placing a hand on Jack’s arm to stop him. “When was you planning on finally tying the knot with her? The two of yous been engaged for how long now?” Jack sighed and shook his head. It was a concern of his, but everything had to be perfect for the wedding- not a single hair could be off. It wouldn’t do to start a marriage off with a bad wedding day, and he certainly had done the best he could for Dahlia to make sure her life was perfect. “Is she even going to keep waiting-”
“Of course she is!” Jack snapped. “She wants it to be as perfect as I do. We share the same dreams and we will settle for nothing less!”
Brom staggered back a step in shock. Jack usually kept his temper under lock and key, but he had struck a nerve. Of course he was worried she wouldn’t want to keep waiting. She’d reassured him it was fine, but what if it wasn’t?
“And just what are you two boys fighting about this time?”
A familiar voice snapped the two of them from their thoughts.
“Dahlia, my sweet, it wasn’t a fight! Brom misspoke and was just about to apologize, weren’t you, Brom?”
Brom nodded his head vigorously. Dahlia hardly looked convinced.
“Well if you’re not going to tell, there’s hardly a reason to press. I figured I’d come and warn you your dad’s looking for you- and before you ask no, he’s not bothering to check the docks today.” She paused long enough for the two of them to shoot her a quizzical look. “Ship’s just come in so it’s busier down there than the guards during wasp season.”
“You hear that Brom? We got ourselves an out! Let’s get down there and see what’s new before my old man does.” Jack took off running towards the little village they called home while Brom hesitated. It wasn’t long before Jack was out of sight and Brom turned to speak to Dahlia.
Except all that came out was silence.
He floundered awkwardly before Dahlia spoke up, seeming to just know what was on his mind.
“We’re okay, Brom. I know you’ve been good friends with the both of us since we could walk, and that you’ve a tendency to worry too much about everyone, but we are okay.” She leaned in to whisper in his ear. “There’s actually a bit of a contest going between us- and if you can keep a secret- I might have found a good enough baker. We’re actually getting very close to finally having everything perfect for the wedding!” Brom broke into a grin while she giggled and waved him off. “Now go catch up to Jack before his dad gets to you.”
Brom, suddenly reminded about his long-gone friend, stumbled over a tree root as he began to run to catch up. Dahlia waited around for a minute before she took off running after the two of them. It wasn’t every day a ship came to port in Oakvale, and she wasn’t about to miss out on any of the fun.
Normally ships passed by the little village- it was fairly self-sufficient and didn’t see much need for trade with the rest of the world. However there was one ship always sure to port every now and again.
“Jack, my boy!” A voice, slightly gravely with age but still quite lively, boomed out across the dock. Most people paid it no mind, however. “It’s been a couple months since I seens ya. Ya got a date for that wedding yet? Now I know you wouldn’t have had it without invitin’ me.”
Captain Goodwin ruffled Jack’s hair before the man could duck away. Though he was a gruff man to most, to his friends and family he was incredibly jovial. A native to Oakvale, the village held a special place in his sea-faring heart and yearly visits were part of his routine. Those visits weren’t on any particular time table, but he always made sure he visited once per year with as many trinkets, supplies, and stories as he could muster.
“No sir, nothing official yet. But…” Jack leaned in close to try and keep his words a secret from any nosy villagers nearby. However his excitement kept his voice a bit louder than intended. “Word is I might have finally found the perfect baker.” The captain gave Jack a pat on the back that nearly knocked him over. It was hard not to share in the excitement.
“Well then I better not be leavin’ anytime soon then. Besides, a bit o’ time land-side might be good for me old bones…” It was then Jack really noticed the graying hair on Captain Goodwin. When exactly had he gotten so old? “No need to talk about me though. I got someone I’d like you to meet. Jack, meet Em… Ahm… Eh…”
“Aemulus.” Jack’s eyes followed the captain’s gesturing to the sound of the voice. There stood a young man, roughly Jack’s age if not a year or so younger. “Most people have difficulty pronouncing my name, so you can just call me Aem.” He held out a hand for Jack to shake.
“Jack.” Aem’s shake was firmer than Jack expected from such a skinny thing. His dark hair was also styled similarly to Jack’s- one could have easily mistaken them for brothers.
The captain was grinning broadly as he turned back to Jack.
“Aem here’s from a far-away land and wanted to see the world. I took a bit of a shine to ‘im as he reminded me of a certain someone, and I figured the two of you’d get along pretty well. I’m sure you’ve plenty to learn from each other so if you need me,” Captain Goodwin shouted over his shoulder as he began to walk away. “I’ll be at the tavern!”
As the captain’s figure disappeared into the crowd, Jack and Aemulus were left alone.
The silence stretched on somewhat awkwardly as neither one knew how to really begin. Since Jack had to play host, he gestured back towards the village and the crowd.
“Shall we start with a tour?”
    “Lead on.”
Jack led Aem through the small village he called home. There wasn’t much to it, as it was a simple way of life, but Jack was still quite proud to call Oakvale his home.
The tavern was pointed out first and foremost, since it was situated so close to the docks. Next was the general store- useful for getting most of one’s daily needs if you or a neighbor didn’t produce them. Notable townsfolk had their homes pointed out and Jack ended the tour on the bridge. Both his house and the farm on the edge of the village were close. The sun was just beginning to set as he leaned forward against the railing to look out at the sea. Aem opted to lean back against the railing on the opposite side, eyes firmly fixed on the back of Jack’s head.
“Sounds like a quiet and peaceful life.”
“Aye, that it is.”
“Haven’t you ever wanted more, though?”
Jack turned to look back at Aem, a confused look on his face.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, haven’t you ever wanted to see the world? Find out what else is out there? You can’t seriously tell me you have no sense of adventure.”
Jack paused, looking down at the bridge under him in thought. It wasn’t that Aem was wrong, he just hadn’t ever stopped to think about it. Aem continued questioning while Jack continued to ponder.
“You’re what, mid to late twenties if you’re like me?” Jack nodded but did not look up. “Wait much longer, and adventuring is going to be a pain- quite literally. Captain Goodwin certainly can’t move around like he used to, and he’s what, in his fifties? We’re past halfway there, Jack.”
He had to admit Aem had a point. Life was already planned out for him though. The wedding was going to be very soon if everything continued to come together. After that, the whole village was going to be hounding them about how many kids were on the way. By the time they would be grown up, it’d be time for the two of them to really settle down into retirement. The most they could maybe do would be to make a trek to move to Bowerstone- as Bloodstone was definitely out of the question- but they’d be so far from family and friends Dahlia would never agree to it.
Oakvale was all he knew, and all he was going to know.
Before he could even decide how he felt about that revelation, Brom came running up to the two of them completely out of breath. Between each gasp of air, Brom just looked back and forth with absolute bewilderment before finally being able to choke out a single word.
“Two?!”
“Ah, Brom, I’d like you to meet my new friend!” Jack gestured towards Aem. “Aemulus is his name and he came here with Captain Goodwin. Aemulus, this is my good childhood friend Brom. You joined us at the perfect time actually, I just finished the Oakvale tour and was about to ask him for stories of his own home.”
Aem shot Jack a look as Brom perked up. He’d managed to dodge the conversation and with an audience, Aem was unlikely to get any honest answers of introspection out of his new-found twin.
“Please, just call me Aem.” He shook Brom’s hand in greeting. “I suppose I have an interesting story or two to tell, but first, perhaps we should head for the tavern? A place to sit and a good drink sound like the best way to enjoy a tale.”
“Oh, I so do loves a nice cold tankard. There’s also that little corner table we could grab so nobody’ll interrupt us.” Brom was practically bouncing up and down in excitement. Jack nodded and gestured for the others to follow him back into town. Aem was going to have to wait until later to corner Jack again.
On the way to the tavern, the three men ran into Dahlia, who was as surprised as Brom was when first spotting Aemulus. Introductions were had yet again, and they carried on their merry way with another member in tow. Luckily, the corner table hadn’t been taken and as the men settled into their seats, Dahlia offered to grab the drinks.
It didn’t take long for her to return and set a tankard in front of each of them. She scooted her seat closer to Jack and wrapped her arms around his free one.
“You said you two were engaged, correct?” Aem aimed the quick question at Jack before taking a sip.
“Yes. We might even have everything in order soon to go ahead with the ceremony.”
“Oh, so you found a baker?” Dahlia looked up at him. She was secretly hoping it wasn’t the same one she had heard about.
“A visiting one, from Bloodstone. They make an amazing lavender tea bread.” Jack smiled down at her. “I actually planned a visit for us in two days. I was going to tell you tomorrow, but now seems like a good time to break the news.”
Dahlia hid her head in his side. Brom, putting two and two together for once, unfortunately couldn’t stop himself from commenting.
“Wait, when you said you’d heard of a baker you wanted to check out before you told Jack, was that the one? Looks like he beat you to it already then, haha!” Jack looked down at Dahlia with an amusedly smug look on his face.
“And you thought you were gonna get everything in order yourself before I could so much as get wind of any of it.” Dahlia reached and took a sip from his tankard before he could protest.
“Since I lost the bet, the least you can do is share your drink then.”
    “Why not get your own?”
“I didn’t want to.” She stuck her tongue out at him and he shook his head in response.
“Well you two certainly act like you’re married already.”
Aem’s voice sounded a little leering, but Jack seemed to be the only one who had noticed. Neither Brom nor Dahlia had any sort of reaction to it beyond a slight chuckle, so he couldn’t say anything about it.
“The two of ‘em’s been together since we was kids. They’ve been acting married for years.” Brom let out a heartier laugh this time, and Dahlia piped up with her own commentary.
“Though telling him that always leaves him a bit embarrassed.” She fell into a fit of giggles when Jack used his free hand to tickle her side. Aemulus simply watched the moment unfold, hands holding the drink sitting firmly on the table in front of him. “Stop, stop, I’m sorry! Heehee, I won’t do it again!”
He whispered something in her ear which left her hiding her face in his side again. Jack looked proud as he looked back at the others.
“So Aem, you said you might have a story or two of your own to tell. Why not share with the class?”
“Oh, yeah! I’d love to hear what your home’s like! You got anyone waitin’ for you to come back?” Brom was leaning towards their new friend, curiosity lighting up his face. He was the most eager to learn more about Aem, but he could spot Dahlia peeking at him from across the table as well.
Taking a deep breath, he proceeded to empty his tankard within seconds and gently set it back down on the table. The others simply stared at him in shock and awe. Clearing his throat, Aem spoke up after the brief silence.
“So you want to know more about where I’m from, eh?”
    All three of them nodded.
“Well, I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to tell you all. We’re friends now, aren’t we? Just don’t go getting green with envy after I tell you…”
Hills of vibrant green all around, protecting a quaint valley town from the harsher outside world. One might think this little town would be a boring place to live with its temperate weather all year-round, but that is where you would be mistaken. There were a few passages through the hills that locals knew well and delicacies that only this town could produce, so trade kept the streets bustling with life. Indeed, despite its smaller-than-expected size this small town could rival any large city in wealth and prosperity.
The secret to it all was the mead.
Beekeeping was held in high regard- one of the most honorable professions one could take up. Brewer, gardener, and florist were also three incredibly well-respected professions. The fields surrounding the town were always bursting with color from all the flowers. Honey from here was the sweetest and never in short supply.
Sweet honey makes an even sweeter mead.
Nothing could rival the alcohol this little town produced, and to compliment the drinks were bouquets made with the most romantic of flowers in mind. What better way to say ‘I love you’ than with liquid dessert and a brilliantly blooming display of bright red roses, orange lilies, pale pink peonies, and dark red carnations?
It certainly wasn’t much of a tourist spot itself, but the cities over the hills certainly would pay a pretty penny to make sure everything got to them fresh and safe. They were the more popular spots, and that was perfectly fine for everyone in the town itself. It wouldn’t do to have people trampling the flowers and disturbing the bees after all.
Aem went quiet for a moment, surveying everyone’s reaction. Brom looked lost in thought, trying to see the flowers before him while Dahlia had a gleam in her eye, like she desperately wanted to ask to go see them.
Jack’s reaction was the hardest to read. He seemed to be doing his best to keep himself guarded, but he did seem a little intrigued by the idea of such a town, head tilted to the side ever so slightly in consideration.
“Before anyone asks the obvious, no I don’t have anyone waiting on me back home. I’ve actually been hoping to find someone in my travels willing to come back with me.”
All of them raised an eyebrow at that. Dahlia was the first to speak up.
“You’re single?” He nodded.
“Is that so hard to believe?”
“Well, we’ve only just met, but if you’re anything like my Jack, surely you’d have tons of girls jumping at the opportunity.”
“Ah, but that’s just the thing, most don’t want to go off adventuring. They want to settle down immediately, in the place where they grew up. I, on the other hand, still wish to see more of the world.”
“B-but,” Dahlia refused to give up the topic, “surely there’s got to be someone willing to adventure with you! You can’t tell me absolutely no one is interested.” Aem simply shook his head.
“That’s become part of the challenge of adventure, I’m afraid. Though I am always glad to make new friends. I look forward to spending time with the three of you while I’m here.” Standing up, he stretched his arms above him. “Though it appears we’ve spent quite a bit of time talking this evening,” he gestured to the window. “I suppose it’s about time I found Captain Goodwin to say goodnight and settled into a room. Pleasure meeting you all.” He shook Brom and Jack’s hand one last time before heading off further into the tavern to find the captain.
“I suppose we should all be gettin’ back then. It’s late and I ain’t about to make me mum any madder. Already kinda mad at meself for missin’ dinner…” Brom took off while grumbling under his breath. Jack turned to Dahlia as a realization crossed his face.
“I’ve completely forgotten about my dad! Despite the fact I’ve somehow managed to avoid him all day, he’s absolutely going to tear into me when I get home.”
“Well, you can always come stay the night with me. You know my parents don’t mind pulling out some spare blankets for you on the floor.”
“I know they don’t, but doing so last minute feels wrong.” Jack sighed. “Better get going before it gets too late.”
A comforting hug and a quick kiss on the cheek was all they shared before Jack was out the door. Dahlia knew she wasn’t going to be able to see him at all tomorrow- and as bothered as she was at the idea, she knew it would only be for a day. Besides, it would give her time to ask Aem more about his travels while showing him more about the town.
The excitement at learning more about their new friend put a spring in her step as she headed out the door. Tomorrow was certainly going to be an interesting day.

Okay, hoping this is allowed. In regards to Below the Ice, how do you think some of the other Sans' would react to Reader in the same situation? Say Red, Blue, Axe, or Dior? You don't have to answer for all of these if you don't feel like it!
Of course this is allowed! Such a good idea. Hopefully I read this right lol
Red:
Reds more aggressive than Sans. He's not an Orca Siren but a Bull shark Siren. Not exactly known for being cold and calculating. There's definitely more murder attempts, Red is also far more successful at killing off Readers co-workers. This is probably set off the coast of coast of mexico, lots of bull sharks and bull shark sirens congregate there.
He's also more openly flirty though, he's more aware of his feelings to reader than Sans is and he's not shy about checking you out ;)))
Initially, he thinks your just like the other scientists. Dumb, easily manipulatable and an easy meal. You quickly prove him wrong when you successfully manage to trap him under some falling rocks.
Boy does Red love a strong and smart partner. Something about being capable enough to take down an apex predator like him just does it for him.
The two of you get closer once he's under captivity, which is in this au, not for evil science purposes but more so for everyone's (including reds, safety). Once you're on more equal power dynamics you find him to be quite funny and charming when he needs to be.
He's pretty touchy as well, not to the point of it being uncomfortable. He just likes play fighting with you, or just holding onto you.
Blue:
He's a Dolphin Siren! you initially meet him when your scuba diving taking coral samples. He's friendly and inquisitive and all too helpful. Your other colleagues are jealous he approached you this time. Similar to Red, this doesn't take place in the arctic but instead somewhere off the coast of Australia, maybe the Great Barrier Reef.
Yeah, he's definitely known around the area for how kind he is. Tons of youtube videos have gone viral featuring him helping fishermen, scuba divers and even lost swimmers.
ngl, this is probably the best start to your relationship compared to any of the other boys
He often swims circles around you, trying to draw you from your work to play with him, solve puzzles and even tries to get you to meet his brother. Sometimes you relent, sometimes you don't, though you do build a strong friendship.
You fall first but he falls harder.
It just hits him one day. You and him are out swimming, you collecting important marine data and him following you around with a strange stirring in his soul that he can't quite place.
When he sees you helping a small fish out of a plastic bottle. That's when it hits him. He loves you. You're perfect
Axe:
hhrrrrrrgggg pretty human,,,,,,
eyes wide, jaw dropped, STARING,,,,
you first meet when you're out late night fishing. You had been warned of a Giant Pacific Octopus Siren that had recently started inhabiting the area but what did they know??? Certainly not more than you! You'd been fishing round these parts since you were a baby!
"....HOLY SHIT!" is what you screech out, dropping your fishing rod when you see Axe's bright red eye-light looking up from the murky deep.
Yeah you turn right back around and don't come back. Much to Axe's disappointment. Luckily for him, and unluckily for you, he has very long, very powerful tentacles that he uses to pull you into the water with him.
He doesn't drag you under of course, he's smart enough to figure out that you really don't like that.
He's already designated you his mate. Sorry, pal, you're just going to have to make do with the giant octopus Siren cuddling up to you now.
He does let you go eventually, though you do have to repeatedly promise him that you'll come back.
And you do, afraid that he'll come chase you down. Eventually it does come to be a mutually loving relationship, it just takes a little time.
Dior (lusttale Sans):
This time you're the one approaching him. You're a famous wildlife photographer and you have been craving that perfect, career making picture; and you know who you have to photograph.
Dior, a famous lionfish Siren, known for his striking beauty and his charming friendliness to everyone. He proves to be rather elusive. Hard to find, rarely ever in one spot as he's surrounded by many Siren admirers. But you're determined!
finally, after days of bashing up against sharp corals in your search, you find him! Dozing off on a large rock formation. You're steadying yourself for the perfect picture when you notice a much larger Siren sneaking up on Dior, teeth bared and claws sharpened.
"Look out!" You say, or at least try to say through all the bubbles. Dior does manage to wake up though, and quickly pokes the attacker with one of his many poisonous spines.
He thanks you, deciding to pose for you in thanks for you saving him.
When you leave, he assumes you'll never come back. He's too used to people leaving once they've gotten what they want out of him.
He's pleasantly surprised when you come back, without the camera, just wanting to know more about the beautiful but distant Siren.
He doesn't mean to fall as fast and as hard as he does, but being around someone so genuine is such a nice shock to his system he just can't help but fall for your smile.

feel like the global tasks sweep strat should probably be nerfed somehow. my thought would be, give each team an individual ten minute overall cooldown on global task claims. that is to say, a certain team can only claim one global task per ten minutes. say, deliver gas masks, and then in ten minutes you're allowed to deliver tea, and then after another ten minutes you can claim hot chocolate.
another teams would be able to claim a global task for bananas during this time, and their own ten minute cooldown would start.
(the global tasks can either keep their individual ten minute cooldown [i.e. after tea is claimed no one else can claim tea for ten minutes] or a slightly shorter cooldown, say 5-7 minutes)
when a global task is claimed, everyone is notified, right? if not, in my hypothetical, they will be.
then, a team trying to sweep six tasks at once would actually take sixty minutes to do, allowing another team to swoop in and have a chance to stop it in cinematic, entertaining fashion rather than tubbo having to grind resources and then log out in front of the merchant to counter this, which is boring for everyone (including the person delivering). plus, if a team cuts it down to the last second and ends up getting delayed, they physically wouldn't have time to make a delivery, meaning even being a BIT of a nuisance could be a viable strategy, even if you can't manage to kill; if you can STALL you could still wreck their plans.
that's my dream anyway idk i'm not a game designer. just think it would be interesting for most players
(i elaborate under)
red team would have to shake up their strategies, which is fun since they're a team that kinda has to rely more on strategy than outright brawn (overall the team's pvp can't be relied on unless they have carre or phil, as seen today when pierre, bad, and etoiles attacked phil cellbit foolish and baghera, and cellbit and foolish both died to etoiles in the attack, despite it being a 4 on 1 at the time. baghera was killed by bad soon after. phil was the one to get the kills. the first day, when blue attacked [niki, tubbo, and bad as i recall] carre got both kills)
the other teams would then still have a way to stop a global sweep since a sweep would have to start earlier, allowing not only more time to arrive at global to pvp about it, but ALSO allowing another team to swoop in and steal the goal out from under the team again
i'm gonna use it in a scenario bc i'm badboyhalo and i can't stop myself from making examples:
so, tonight, if the proposed cooldown was in place, bad and tubbo would both still had roughly 17 minutes when red team would have HAD to start the sweep process if they wanted all six global tasks: 1 hour until the server closed at absolute MINIMUM. more for safety's sake.
therefore, in this scenario, there's a lot to happen
blue team could wait at globals, knowing red will probably try this strategy, and attempt or perhaps SUCCEED in killing red. if they kill red entirely, the operation is a wash; red doesn't have to gear to come back from scratch and take out blue team, and even if they could, the travel time to return to globals alone would mean they wouldn't get all the global tasks, potentially meaning they don't take the lead. if blue team is unable to kill red and dies themselves or has to retreat, but succeeds in delaying red, red would face the same problem.
if red sends in all of the task items on one person, and that person dies, even if the rest survived, blue could loot the items from that person and would be able to either use the items themselves, if green is currently the owner, or could run away with the items, effectively wasting red's time and again, meaning they wouldn't get all tasks claimed even if they were able to overtake the runner and reclaim their items.
i'm unclear what would happen if red divided the task items between them since it seems like the person claiming the task doesn't have to have all (or any? again, unclear) the items in THEIR inventory in order to claim so long as a teammate is nearby with the items in their inv (evidence: pac's vod "voltei... o que tá acontecendo no QSMP?!" at roughly 3:00:00; tubbo claims tea and tea is taken out of pac's inventory. i don't know the limits of this strategy)
blue team also has time to swoop in and steal a global task out from under red during this time. say, if red team had claimed the task for 10 tea leaves, upping the price to 15 tea leaves, and then blue team snuck in and claimed the task and set the price up to 20 tea leaves, (since the proposed 10 minute cooldown on claims would be TEAM LIMITED; red's cooldown applying to red only and so on). if red waited until the last second, they wouldn't have the time to reclaim this task even if they did have the resources, possibly forcing them to start their sweep earlier to counter this possibility, at which point team members who had logged on earlier and are out of time by the end of the night, OR members who live in time zones that don't allow them to stay up until server close, may have an easier shot at participating in defending against a global sweep.
all of this DIRECT CONFLICT would make for good audience entertainment and heighten the stakes of an attempted global sweep, since it would practically have to be one team defending globals for an hour while they pipe all their resources into it, knowing that if they die another team could easily swipe their task resources and use it themselves (along with the rest of their gear). it makes it more interesting, while still mostly viable.
plus it would force more strategizing for red team which is maybe just a personal plus, i just really like seeing people planning both in advance and in spur of the moment. it's really satisfying to see how a plan comes together and succeeds or fails; plus, since red team is the main team using this strategy at the moment and their main draw and strength as a team is cohesion and communication this would be completely fucking riveting for me as a viewer so maybe this is just a personal thing. but i really really think it would be fun
but again, i'm not a game designer, or a qsmp player, or a qsmp admin, or honestly even really a gamer? so maybe i'm off my rocker and out of my gourd and this isn't viable or balanced in any way shape or form but YKNOW what is this blog except putting stupid thoughts into the void and seeing if this time the void spits back hate mail so. i'm folding this into a paper airplane and throwing it into the abyss. hopefully it made sense.
k love you appreciate you getting this far, have a good week!!
(i hope your team gets a win in dramatic fashion and celebrates together!!! i hope they come together and unleash a plan so spectacular it takes the server by storm!!! i hope it's so good it becomes a vod you go back to even years in the future!!!! i hope you have a good week!!!!!)
#qsmp#qsmp purgatory#shut up vic#block game brainrot#yes it's long beneath the keep reading no i'm incapable of being succinct#i color coded the important parts though i just wanted to try to be clear#examples are my bread and butter i do programming and math they make everything easier for me to understand#god i hope this makes sense to other people i didn't ask my biological peer reviewer so idk if this is stupid or not#tbh it's just a tumblr post so i guess it's whatever if it is but i put wayyy more work than necessary into double checking timelines lol#(i didn't watch blue today sorry :/ idr if i mentioned in the body of the post but i main red team)#(their energy is just more entertaining for me personally; though i kept an eye on pac once i could multi-watch!)#anyway other team mains feel free to weigh in if i'm making weird assumptions about what the teams are capable of#heaven knows my pov is biased here LMFAO#((for what it's worth i am fully aware this means red team aren't rly underdogs anymore and i super want them to be kicked in the stomach))#((back to the drawing board; what will they do??? When he finally knocks how she wears certain sets with the intention of getting him to notice just for her to get embarrassed when he starts playing along and doesn’t try to hide his looking 🤭
bodyguard au drabble # 6
THESE PAJAMAS!!!!!!!!!!!! why are these in particular such a pivotal thing in this au like???
but anyways fuck it drabble rahhh 🦅🦅🦅🦅 is this my drabble emoji bat signal lmao??? anyways whatever here we go!! ended up being a lil diff but i think it kinda fits the realm of what you said hehe bc i def agree he’d eventually just stop trying to hide his staring all together he’s just so brazen w it lol
ALSO HBD EREN 🥳🥳🥳
(also if u ever notice it takes me comically long to reply to your ask even tho im answering others more than likely this is probably why haha)
Eren is enjoying this shift in their dynamic more than he likes to admit—more than he's proud to admit. Going from yelling at one another, hardly even getting along, to whatever he can say they do now, a mostly amicable and peaceful dynamic within their shared space, it's nice. But aside from that, he can't say he doesn't enjoy watching Mikasa, the Mikasa who was once a constant 66 inches of never ending rage and bitchy remarks, be absolutely flustered at the smallest things.
At first, he couldn't quite pinpoint that Mikasa of all people, could possess feelings of shyness. She could bitch him around with no issue—she'd spent months doing exactly that, teetering along the lines of verbal abuse. But now that they've made amends, establishing a friendship of the sorts, and things between them have shifted to say the least, Eren can't say that he doesn't enjoy watching Mikasa fret.
The first time he notices it, he thinks it's just because of her pride. After months of being aggressive towards him, of course she's a bit hesitant at being amicable. She moves around him hesitantly, almost like a cat, coming around randomly, sometimes more than others, but it's always with a level of hesitancy behind it. It's then he hears her stutter for the first time, her words lacking their usual confidence, as she shyly stalks around him while he makes dinner until she musters up the courage to ask to help him.
Eventually, as time goes on, Eren finds that he enjoys her company. For one, Mikasa is funny (to his great surprise) and someone he finds easy to talk to, the two of them having a lot more in common than he would have ever expected. They can spend hours talking about nonsense, ranging from the shows they watch to their favorite foods, the two of them having very passionate opinions on food. h
There's also the reason that it's Mikasa, and well, she's an objectively attractive girl, something he's known since the first day he met her. And even though he tries hard to keep those thoughts locked tightly away, he can't deny that sometimes they resurface, and he finds himself staring a little harder than he'd like to admit.
He would be foolish to deny her other worldly attractiveness, and sometimes he hates that he feels a little smug, a little bit too satisfied, the way he enjoys that he’s the only one who’s constantly around her. While he’s had enough insults thrown at it him to last a lifetime, and reached levels of anger he’d like to never reach again, he also gets glimpses of her at every hour of the day, which as much as he hates to admit, makes up for it somehow.
Pretty, pretty Mikasa, with her perfectly picked outfits, not a hair out of place, and at night who parades around in her silken pajamas, something Eren’s found himself growing fond of. Every night waiting for her to trail into the living room or kitchen, so he can get his one quick glimpse, the moment he allows himself to let his thoughts run rampant before he tucks them back away.
Through his observations, when he’s not just ogling her, he also notices the way, at times, she randomly shuts down, her face scrunching up, Mikasa sometimes running off to her room suddenly at the mention of certain things, if she suddenly feels embarrassed, or if Eren accidentally lets his touch linger for too long for reasons at the time Eren couldn't quite pinpoint.
Sometimes, he thinks she may have noticed his staring, in the way that she’ll get shy if she catches him looking too long, her face flushing red at the sudden contact. But Eren is almost certain though, that she pays attention, taking note of what exactly he's staring at.
Because one day, when Mikasa somehow convinced him to share shots of soju with her, leaving Eren more loose and lax than he ever liked to be, it was then that she takes his wavering glances into consideration.
There's an almost empty glass bottle of peach soju between them sitting on her coffee table, the two of them sitting on the floor in front of it in her living room. The TV is playing some random romcom Mikasa somehow convinced him to watch, but if Eren's being honest, he hasn't been paying attention since the second shot she made him take, too busy allowing his mind to venture elsewhere—Mikasa. He finds himself trying not to stare, but he's sure his eyes keep drifting back towards her, fitted in her black silken pajamas, hair pulled back with a pink velvet headband—she's cute, he thinks—his hand resting on his head shifting in her direction, almost like a gravitational pull.
"Eren," Mikasa says, snapping him out of his thoughts. "You okay?" She asks, stiffling a laugh. "You've been staring for a minute now."
"Oh," he says, trying not to show any signs of embarassment. "I was just thinking, I guess."
"Are you a lightweight?" She asks teasingly, taking note of how his eyelids look heavy and his face a bit flushed. "I think you're way too big to be a lightweight, Eren."
"'m not a lightweight, just tired," he says trying to make excuses.
She quirks her brow, clearly not believing his lie. "Well, either way, you're staring into space. Are you staring at the wall or something?"
And maybe it was because of his lack of a filter due to the alcohol; he simply shrugs, casually replying: "Oh, I was looking at your pajamas—you never wear black ones like that—thought they looked nice," too busy in his own head to notice the redness that flashes across Mikasa's face before she whipped her head in the other direction, resuming her attention to the movie.
It's after this that Eren notices the usual colorful and pastel pajamas are traded out for an array of darker ones. At first, it's subtle, almost to where he doesn't notice, but then it becomes more apparent, to the point where he's almost certain she's seeking out his glances, lingering around just a little longer, wearing the ones that are just a little tighter, just a little shorter.
And Eren certainly doesn’t mind, but he isn’t sure if it’s because the attraction he has for her is a mutual thing, or if Mikasa just enjoys his attention, but knowing her, he’s almost positive it’s probably the latter, Mikasa always one to enjoy riling him up, and apparently now, in other ways, sincethey’re amicable.
But if it’s attention that she wants, then Eren doesn’t mind giving it to her—especially since it doesn’t seem all that surprising given her bratty nature—so he does exactly that.
Eren goes about his normal day, Mikasa for once, opting to stay home, locking herself in her room, with claims of a headache, not wanting to be bothered. He takes out Caro, runs a few errands, and even goes for a run, knowing eventually she’ll stumble into him at some point, as she always does.
The day transitions into evening, still no signs of Mikasa, which surprises him given she normally comes out to at least make dinner, but even after 8:00, once Eren’s finished making dinner and even cleaning up, there’s still no sign of her.
He takes this as a sign to go check on her, even bothering to bring her a bowl of ziti, her—their—favorite, assuming she hasn’t eaten since he has yet to see her step out of her room all day.
Eren knocks on her door, waiting for a response. He can hear the shuffling of her feet behind the door, and he’s certain he even hears Caro bark at some point, realizing that’s where she disappeared to a while ago. Finally after a few minutes, the door swings open, the sight of Mikasa taught in a black satin robe, her hair messily tied into a bun on the top of her head, and her face, usually glowy, looks tired and almost a little as if she’s visibly in pain.
“Hey…” Eren starts, taking her in. Her satin robe leaves little to the imagination, Eren’s eyes trail down longer than he normally would’ve in such close proximity to her, but Mikasa’s clearly too distraught to notice. His mind ventures to the place of what exactly she has beneath it, before he remembers why he came to her room in the first place, snapping himself out of his thoughts. “Haven’t seen you all day, brought you dinner—figured you hadn’t eaten,” he continues, nodding towards the plate in his hand.
Mikasa opens the door wider, gesturing for him to come inside, “Sorry, I haven’t been feeling all that great,” she replies quietly. Eren takes note of her dark room, save for one tiny light in the opposite corner, Caro sits at the foot of her bed, her head perching up at the sight of Eren. Mikasa resumes her place on her bed, Eren placing her plate on her desk before leaning against the wall. “Thanks for the food, I haven’t even gotten the chance to leave my room today; my migraine’s barely started to let up just now,” she says motioning towards the bed. “Caro’s kept me company for the last few hours though,” she adds, a small smile on her face.
“I thought you just had a headache?” His brows furrow, a bit of guilt starting to fill within him, knowing he would’ve asked if she needed anything earlier had he know it was that bad.
“Headache, migraine—most people just think they’re the same anyways,” she shrugs. “I don’t get them often and they’re not that bad, just have to sleep it off usually.”
“Are you feeling better now at least?”
“I am, but I should probably eat, I haven’t eaten all day, so thank you,” she replies before getting up to grab the plate he made her, her face lights up when she notices he made ziti. “You made baked ziti,” she exclaims, before taking a bite, humming in delight.
“Mhmm,” he hums in agreeance, eyeing her. Pretty, pretty Mikasa, with her sweet expressions, her out of this world beauty, and her silly little pajamas that always drive him insane. He watches as she eats her meal, too busy enjoying to notice his staring at first until she catches his gaze.
“Is something wrong?” She asks. “You’re staring.”
Eren gives her one over before he shrugs, standing up to get up to leave. “Nothing’s wrong, just looking. But feel better, I’ll see you in the morning.”
“Oh, okay. Well goodnight, thanks again for the food and stuff,” she replies meekly.
He walks towards the door opening it, turning back one more time before he leaves. “Oh and I like the robe, it’s cute. You should wear it more—especially like all the other black ones.”
Eren doesn’t have to turn to face her to know that her face is red, clearly knowing her little ruse is up.

Your straightforward intelligent f/o saying "I love you" for the first time. They've gone through all possible theories describing their unusual emotional and behavioral responses. It's the only explanation. They thought you should be aware.

This feral cat Leon thing just keeps building. Makes me want to see things from the Doctor’s point of view. Around the second or third visit, Leo jets “Special Patient” status, and the whole office staff are putting on protective gear or trying to call out sick if they know in advance He is coming.
(Why am I enjoying this so much?)
Tumblr media
Those poor doctors lol. I imagine the office would either set aside the whole day just for the Hamato boys (b/c there's 4 of them, and one's a semi-feral little shit.) or at least schedule them during non-standard office times. Bringing a in four turtles, one of which is either screeching, biting, or at some point got hit with a tranquilizer dart, would not be a sight they want their other patrons to see. (the office would love the few times Donnie gets fed up and just shoots him with the tranquilizer. They don't have to worry about getting bit then lol.)
When it becomes apparent he's probably not going to stop acting like this, they might start prescribing some calming meds for him to take before those visits (which his family have to sneak to him b/c Leo won't take meds.)
but yeah, Leo damn near having his own feral state (like Raph's savage raph state) over going to the doctors is not what i expected out of this au, but i am certainly here for it lol.
thank you!

real talk: since starting to write in the fandom in august (technically july but i started posting in august), i think i can count on one hand the weeks i have gone without posting. like, with shire, i updated twice weekly, and with this fic i've updated once a week at least, and that's not even counting all the random one shots i've posted or surprise chapters i dropped.
the fact that i have been nonstop writing and posting for nearly ten months now is mindblowing, and even moreso when it comes to how kind you all have been to the content i put out. it's just wild to wrap my head around. and the fact i still have a life and work and school beyond it all? what the hell???
anyways my point is i'm amazed writers block hasn't gotten my ass yet and i'm also really grateful for all your support. i love y'all <3

好きだから -- ぼ虹の日 edit
This is very self indulgent and I wasn't even expecting to finish it in time for boniji day. Maybe I just love the pairing so much I wanna make something for it also cuz I still haven't drawn anything about them lately cuz depression go brrrrr
This is initially from Nijika's POV towards Bocchi but some lyrics strayed from that especially the dog part and the last one. But this could also be from Bocchi's POV visualizing Nijika's feelings about her since the edit did start and end with Bocchi in it so...yeah that's how this edit is interpreted (also I kinda got stuck of not knowing what clips that could fit in some parts so ignore if most of the clips are from episode 8)
Btw at the 「またね」 and 「また明日」 part, I was originally going to put the same lines by both Nijika & Bocchi from the show but it sounds out of place so I scrapped it. Tho if I'm better at editing I could make it work and blend it along with the song without it sounding weird (but I'm not :P)
Another thing is that although the lyrics did say 授業 (class) / 放課後部 (after-school club) / LINE in some parts, I changed it to バイト (part time job or in this case I chose work) / 帰宅部 (go-home club) / LOINE to fit the terms in BTR

I tend to like to listen to music and imagine scenarios about Rangers and characters, the only issue with that being sometimes I hear a song turn on and immediately jump ship from that scenario to start a new one that fits the song that started playing
Which means I have just now switched from a cute Halt O'Dad thing where he's comforting Will while there's a thunder storm outside to the song Girls in Bikinis with an entirely different original character
