“That was fun…”

there you lie

on the bed next to Sidon

you’re both panting

smiles painted on your faces

you giggle breathily at Sidon’s comment

he’s taken your breath away

quite literally

you’d both been trying to conceive for a couple months

as you’d discussed it HUNDREDS of times throughout your relationship

you’d both been tracking your cycle to the max

and most of all

you’re having fun

“Can we do that again?”

“Absolutely!”

it’s hard for him to get out of his princely duties

let alone for something secretive

because he isn’t telling ANYONE about this

but he ends up being able to take a few days off each month, claiming it as ‘quality family time’

no one has to know that you’re ovulating

and if he absolutely HAS to go to a meeting during one of those days

you’re coming with him

he’s become so protective of you

and he has to know where you are during that short time of ovulation

it’s almost as if he goes into a small rut each month, as he can smell it on you

“After this meeting… I need us to get home as quickly as possible.”

he’s nothing but persistent on starting a family with you

and you want that

you’re taking pregnancy tests whenever it feels needed

and they’ve all been negative so far

you start to feel a little discouraged

“Oh, my sweet pearl. I can promise you it will happen. Don’t let this negative test bring down your mood.”

he’s so good at cheering you up

a month or so later, you start feeling a couple of pregnancy symptoms

Sidon’s getting ready for the day, as he has so many things to do

“Sidon? Umm… could you stay with me for a bit?”

and he gives you a concerned look

“It’s just… I’m not feeling the best right now, and I think… umm…”

“What is it, y/n?”

“I think I should take another test.”

he’s slightly in shock

“Of course I can stay for a bit. Do you think I’d be able to sit though a meeting knowing you’re here with a secret?”

he’s just outside, pacing back and forth in front of the door

and you pull him in once you’re ready

he waits with you

and he has nothing but positive things to say

“And even if this one ends up being negative, we can always try again.”

and you look at the test

“I don’t think we’ll need to this time.”

“Wait… what?”

you hand him the test

positive

and he immediately starts crying once he realizes that it is indeed a positive test

he pulls you into his arms

the both of you sobbing tears of joy

he’s always wanted this

but he never imagined how good it would feel to know he’s becoming a father

he pulls away to look at you, his beautiful y/n

Summary: Sidon is in love with Ashitaka, how hard can it be to confess to one of his best friends?

Word count: 737

Warning: Confessions, Sidon being 100% aware of the embarrassing situation, this was supposed to be cringy, not Proof read we die like men.

Sidon swam with Ashitaka over his back. They basked together on the warm sunlight in the Toto lake. It wasn't far from the domain and it had such a great view over Akkala.

He felt the weight from her torso lowering on his back.

"Thank you for staying here Sidon." Ashitaka said, her voice a little nudged since her cheek rested between his shoulder blades.

"Don't worry, pebble" He soothed, hearing the light chuckle at the nickname. "I enjoy your presence."

He swallowed the knot on his throat again, this was the third day in a row he had avoided telling her what he felt. Bazz had presented him with various other options to tell her. Whisk her away on a clear night, tell her on the quietness of library, nothing had worked.

She slipped from his back, and swan at his side. The Sheikahs had managed to create a fabric that didn't felt to heavy on the water. Ashi smiled at him at it almost made him breath incorrectly.

She sat on one of the submerged arcs so now only her lower body was under water. Sidon placed his arms and head next to her, her hand rose to pet his crest.

"So what did you wanted to tell me yesterday?" Her other hand curled in a fist "before Muzu interrupted."

He sighed, he wanted to confess but he words died out on his throat, he was a Prince and what was worse, a Zora. He knew that his sister loved Link. Did she ever felt at a loss of words and that a cliff separated her feelings from him.

"Hyrule to Sidon" She whispered. Lying on her stomach her face close to his. "Are you all right?"

"Yeah, I was contemplating what was I about to say." He chuckled.

"By the look of you it seems…" Ashi swallowed. "Serious."

"It kind of is."

"If it is then tell me," She encouraged, Ashi wanted to be able to read minds but alas the reach of her magic wasn't that far. "Because it seems to have been eating you for a while."

Sidon closed his eyes, gathering all his strength and wit. Fighting the octorok was easy, why he couldn't tell her about his feelings? She hadn't changed much with him, there was a new grace on her, like it was a veil perpetually covering her, something that took his breath away.

"Have I told you how much you mean to me?" he asked.

"Quiet a lot actually." She giggled. Snap! Of course he had.

"Well, but in a more… how would you say it… Intimate?" he felt his cheeks burning.

"OK now we are talking about something I am yet to hear." She rose and sat with her legs at either side of the column.

"It is just that every time I try to get the words out of my mouth." He tried to calm down but he was getting a little anxious. "Every time I try to get how I really feel out of my body, you take away my breath, soul and attention away" It was true, the two previous attempts were interrupted by him getting entranced with the way she looked at the starry sky and began tracing the patterns of constellation with her finger or the way her hand caressed the leather cover of the texts.

"Wa-Wait you were trying to confess to me?" She blushed furiously. So that explained why Link face palmed himself when she returned and told him nothing happened.

"So you found out?" He laughed nervously, the blue intensifying over his cheeks. She nodded abashed. "Well it is true, I like you but…" He trailed his voice down embarrassed.

"But…" he heard small ripples she made as she came closer.

"Look at me!" He almost squealed. "I am easily 3 times your size! If wanted I could rip you in half?" He inhaled. "For the goddess's sake Ashi I more than a century older than you."

"Do I look like I mind?" She said her hands forcing him to face her. "Look at me in the eye, and tell me that those points will deter my love for you."

He couldn't, he couldn't tell her, because deep in his heart he wanted this. He wanted for her to reciprocate to his feelings.

"Do you trust me, Ashitaka?" He murmured.

"Yes"

He gently pulled down the surface and kissed her lips.

Sidon loves every inch of you

but he understands that you’re frustrated with your breast size

to help you not feel that way, he would have special armor made for maximum breast support

Milestones - Sidon x reader

“bro im so pumped i will singlehandedly supply AT LEAST a week of reqs for rainy days don't try me to start us off: sidon (and bazz 😌) fatherhood momence :) assuming we've adopted bc i still haven't worked out my zora anatomy hcs lol. ofc by the time the kid is school age poor y/n is gonna be like 50 but you can either ignore that or work it in as you please! i'm curious ab ur take on zora childhood milestones etc :)” - @mantaphase

had to do some research for this one. the Zora aging differences have always thrown me for a loop, but i found this post to go off of from @nakklepiggy. it’s definitely cleared some things up for me, and i’ve come to my own understanding that Zora’s age 5x slower than Hylians. So age 100y for a Zora would be the equivalent to age 20y for a Hylian, which checks out since 20 y/o Zoras are about the equivalent as a 5 y/o Hylian. i can do the math now, and i’m very happy about it.

obviously, assuming y/n has adopted (or has found a surrogate), because technically Zora’s and Hylians can’t mingle in reproduction (but we can pretend… right?)

conceiving wasn’t an option

well, it was, but…

not a Zora child

you both talk it over almost daily

and you both come to the conclusion

surrogacy

Zora’s Domain has some technicalities with who take the throne in the Royal Zora Family

and you thought it best if Sidon were the real father of this child because of this reason

an egg donor was chosen at random, and it was kept private to both of you

not like you minded though

you actually didn’t want to know

Mei offered to be your surrogate, simply because she has children of her own and knows how tricky and tedious pregnancy can be

you’re both there for each other

and Mei is great at explaining the stages of growth to you

and when the time comes

you have an egg to take care of

both you and Sidon are so excited

and after a month or so, you have a hatchling

watching your Zora child grow is an experience you’ll never forget

though Mei had explained this to you, you still couldn’t believe how fast Zora infants go through change

you’re little tadpole grows so fast

Sidon loves marking down growth spirts

and every night, he reads [them] a bedtime story

it’s the same for about another year and a half

of course there’s changes in growth a long the way

but when your child goes through their metamorphosis stage, both you and Sidon are extremely emotional

and of course it happens VERY quickly

finally you can teach your child to walk, to talk, to swim

and when you hear those first words

oh, how Sidon squeals with excitement

very little changes from then on

you’re both working with your little one on learning to talk and walk and so on

Sidon’s great at helping them improve their skills

and when they finally take those first steps, you’re both beyond excited

and as soon as he can, Sidon’s taking them out for some training

“I’m taking the baby out for spear practice! We’ll be back in a bit. I love you!”

you’re never bored with these two, that’s for sure

Sidon’s so happy with the little family you have

and for years to come

you’re excited for the little surprises along the way

and the Zora King lets him continue to ramble until he’s finished, as he’s deep in thought

“You should really speak with Sidon about this issue, Your Majesty.”

and the king nods

“Get some rest, Muzu. I’ll handle it.”

King Dorephan had planned on speaking with Sidon about your character

Sidon speaks so highly of you

and he shows you so much gratitude and affection

at first, King Dorephan had believed this affection to only be one sided

but with this news, he was sure that Sidon’s feelings were reciprocated

it’s late

Muzu’s gone off to bed

but the king is still very much awake, still thinking on how to handle this conversation with his son

because he can’t just stay quiet on the matter

he sends Tottika to find Sidon

and he’s not that hard to find

he’s sitting in the same spot he’s been in for hours…

waiting for you to wake up

“Sidon, your father would like a word.”

Sidon looks at Tottika with tear-filled eyes

“I— I can’t—”

the healer puts his hand on Sidon’s shoulder

“It’s okay. Do what you need to do. I’ll alert you if [they] wake.”

Sidon’s hesitant to leave

he doesn’t want you out of his sight

yet, he nods

taking a deep breath, he gets up and walks with Tottika to the throne room

Sidon walks in alone, tear-stained cheeks glistening from the luminous stone surrounding him

the king looks at his son with sorrow

the room is silent

“Sidon, I—”

and Sidon breaks down once more, falling to his knees in front of his father

“My son, I know how you must feel. Please tell me what’s happened.”

Sidon collects himself and takes another deep breath before explaining the monsters making their way to the domain

“The blood moon’s wrath has gotten out of hand, and the monsters outside the domain have gotten stronger. I knew it was a terrible idea for y/n to accompany me, but… they’re good at what they do, and the monsters are a threat to our people and our home. I couldn’t just stand idly by and watch these monsters rampage their way around the domain. So, we took it upon ourselves to investigate the situation.”

“I-”

Sidon’s fixated on the empty space in front of him, his eyes glazing over

he’s beyond exhausted

and it almost seems if he’s going delusional with worry, rambling on and on about the events from earlier in the night

“It should have been me. I should have been the one to have taken the hit. Not y/n. My sweet, y/n.”

and he breaks down once more

“Sidon…”

Sidon continues to sob uncontrollably, tears splashing on the stone floor

a thought hits King Dorephan

‘[They] really do reciprocate these feelings.’

at this time, Muzu makes his way back to the throne room, unable to sleep from the commotion

still hearing the sobs coming from Sidon, he halts outside the door to listen

“Tottika!”

the king motions Tottika back in

“Sidon, I’ll take care of this issue. Go to y/n. Be with them in this time of need.”

Dorephan turns to Tottika

“I apologize to send you on a wild goose chase this time of night, Tottika, but will you please find Captain Bazz and send him my way? We need our best guard members on watch.”

Sidon wipes the tears from his cheeks, though it doesn’t seem to do much

“Thank you, father.”

and with that, he sprints down the steps and back to the infirmary

After everyone has left, Muzu makes his way back in

“I’m sorry, but I couldn’t sleep through all the commotion. Are you alright, Your Majesty.”

King Dorephan nods

“Yes, Muzu. I’m fine. It seems that this matter is a bit more serious than I’d anticipated. I have our finest guards on watch for the night.”

“And what about Sidon?”

the king takes a moment to speak

“He’s tending to more important matters.”

Muzu grows frustrated

“You can’t tell me that y/n is more important than our home. He needs to be protecting the domain, OUR people. He’s grown far too attached to this y/n, and for these feelings of his to not be mutual is—”

“Muzu, that is enough!”

Muzu’s eyes grow wide at the king’s remark

“Sidon has been through enough for the night. He’s very distraught, and he needs to rest. I think you should do the same.”

Muzu nods

“I’m… I’m sorry.”

Muzu, head down, heads back to his bedchambers

Sidon arrives at the infirmary and takes a seat, waiting for you to wake

morning arrives not a moment too soon

Sidon’s eyes are heavy, but he’s not sleeping until he can see you

“Prince Sidon, you may see y/n now.”

his heart skips a beat as he jumps up and rushes to your room

you’re still out cold

the moment he sees you, he’s in shock

you looks so…

so fragile

“[They’re] stable, and [they] should wake soon. But…”

“But what?”

the healer exhales softly

“[They’ve] lost their [dominant] arm.”

he’s silent

“I’m very sorry. I did all I could to—”

“It’s alright. [They’re] safe now, and that’s all that matters.”

the healer nods

“I’ll leave you be. Just call if you need anything.”

it’s not long after the healer leaves when you wake

you’re sore from the bruised all over your body

and the moment you open your eyes, Sidon’s there, holding your remaining hand in his

“Y/n…”

his tone is soft, sweet

he’s gentle as he kisses your cheek

“I’m so thankful you’re still here.”

time passes

you’re home now, Sidon helping you get used to your lack of a [dominant] arm

he’s gentle with you while you’re healing

and he’s so helpful when you’re in need of something

you accompany him to his study one afternoon

mainly because he’s still wary about you being alone while you’re still healing

and after getting through some of the work he has piled on his desk, he’s called into the throne room for another chat

“I’ll be back as quickly as I can, my pearl.”

Sidon makes his way to see his father

And when he arrives, Muzu is asked to leave

“Sidon, I need to apologize.”

Sidon’s confusion grows

“For what, father?”

King Dorephan takes a breath

“For something I never spoke of. You see, I was initially under the impression that your feelings for y/n were one sided. I didn’t necessarily want to get involved, but seeing how you felt for [them], it was… it was heartbreaking. I was going to have a conversation with you on the matter, but then the news broke about y/n’s heroic act of not only helping you keep the domain safe, but keeping YOU safe. That act spoke to me in more ways than words possibly could. That night I asked you to speak with me, and seeing how distraught you were… then I knew. I wanted to apologize for my way of thinking. I see now that y/n loves you dearly, and that’s all that matters: that your feelings are reciprocated.”

“Thank you, father. I understand. I know [they’re] quiet and more reserved than most, and that can easily be mistaken for ‘not caring’. But, I love that about [them]. I don’t expect you to know the full extent of our relationship, but we share a lot with each other, and it’s nice to know I have someone to talk to if i need reassurance on something.”

Sidon returns to his study and immediately wraps his arms around you

“Is everything alright, Sidon?”

and he nods

“Everything is perfect, my little hero. I have you in my arms, and that’s all that matters: that you’re safe.”

there’s a knock at the door

Sidon gently let’s go of you and answers

and in the doorway stands Muzu, his face plastered with guilt

“Is y/n here?”

“Yes… Why?”

Muzu sighs

“I came to apologize for my behavior. Not that either of you would know, but… I think it’s finally hit me just how much [they] truly care for you, and I would like for [them] to know that I am very sorry for the things I have said.”

Sidon welcomes Muzu in, and the green Zora makes his way over to you

he hasn’t seen you since before the incident

and now, seeing that you’re bruising is still not completely healed and that your missing your [dominant] arm, he feels so much more guilty than he ever thought he would

“Y/n… I— Firstly, thank you for going out of your way to keep the people of Zora’s Domain safe from the monsters on the night of the blood moon. When I had first heard of you heroic act, I did not believe it to be true, but now, as I see you, I know how brave of a should you are. King Dorephan and I have had multiple conversations about you and your relationship with Sidon, and it’s taken me quite a bit of time to understand that just because you’re a very reserved person doesn’t mean that you don’t care for our people, especially him. You’ve proved me wrong in your heroic act, and I want to apologize not only for my way of thinking, but also for my doubt in you. I understand if you cannot forgive me. I don’t even know if I can forgive myself. But, please know that I appreciate your efforts in keeping our home safe. You’re a hero in my eyes, and I’m very happy you’re still here with us in the domain.”

Muzu’s words bring tears to Sidon’s eyes

never has he heard this man speak such heartfelt words

to anyone

you give a nod to Muzu

“Of course. I’ve always loved Zora’s Domain, and I want it to be safe from any harm. Sidon needed assistance, and I wanted to help in any way I could.”

you look at Sidon

“And I hope you know that this incident isn’t going to stop me from helping next time.”

Muzu smiles at you

“Thank you, y/n. Really.”

Muzu says his goodbyes and heads back to cater to King Dorephan

Sidon’s once again got you wrapped in his arms, kissing your cheek softly

“I love you more every second, and I hope you know that.”

you giggle at his statement

“But we’ll see about that ‘next time’.”

he makes his way back over to his desk

and you huff

“I want you to be safe, y/n. I don’t want ANYTHING to happen to you. That really scared me, and I don’t know if I can go through that again.”

“Sidon…”

“Really, y/n. I love you, and I don’t know how long I can go without you by my side.”

“Then let me help! I promise to be more careful.”

he sighs

“Fine. But I’m not letting you out of my sight.”

“Deal.”

Courtship Rituals - Sidon x reader

“What about like courtship rituals? Like how Mipha gives armor. I personally assume a male Zora would give jewelry. Maybe armor to help the Hylian swim better.” - @verbophobic

did some research with this one, because i’m STILL so attached to my first play through of the game and didn’t want to restart it for lore. Mipha’s gift of armor to Link was more traditional rather than ritual, as each Zora princess hand makes armor for their husband-to-be. however, i do believe the Zoras would have some sort of courtship rituals, especially within in the royal family. but ultimately, i think if Sidon were to try these on a Hylian he wants to court/marry, i feel as if he would mix the two to create a hybrid courtship ritual. he cares wayyy too much for his s/o to follow the courtship rituals of the Zora.

and the gifts he keeps thinking of are either too grand for your taste or not grand enough for his

he wants to show you how much you mean to him

and he’s always caught by surprise when you gift him Hylian trinkets you’ve picked up on your journey

‘Why is this so hard?’

he paces as he thinks to himself

he’s spent DAYS losing sleep

just because he can’t figure it out

and he’s falling behind in his work

he’s too focused on his feelings for you

and when you two spend some time together

you can tell he’s tired

you spend the day at Veiled Falls

letting him rest his head in your lap

but again, he’s in his own head and can’t rest

“What’s troubling you, Sidon?”

“Nothi— nothing…”

you sigh

“I’m only trying to help.”

“I know. It’s just.. I’m conflicted about some… work matters.”

and that’s the only time he’ll ever not be truthful to you

“Well, we’re here now. Get some rest.”

the gentle touch of your hand on his cheek eases his mind

and he naps for a little while

once you two have parted for the day though

his mind is back in flames

and that’s when he thinks of it

‘Jewelry!’

he does a little reading

and you’ve both talked about Hylian customs enough for him to understand the significance of rings in Hylian culture

so he heads to Dento’s workshop

“This is going to be a strange request, but I need a piece of jewelry made.”

“That’s not so strange, Sidon. What kind of jewelry?”

“A ring.”

and Dento stares at him for a moment in disbelief

“A ring? Those aren’t in ou—”

“I know. But in Hylian cul— it’s important to me. I can pay you whatever you desire, Dento.”

and Dento agrees

they talk about ring sizes

ring styles

materials

Sidon knows your taste well

and he hopes that this ring will be as sentimental to you as it is to him

Dento completes this task

and Sidon is in awe of the small piece of metal in his hands

he hides it in his cravat

and then he’s on his way to find you

because he can’t wait another day

“Y/n! There you are! Fancy a picnic by the pond?”

“Good! I’ll see you tonight then!”

you both meet up at Ralis Pond

Sidon’s brought so much food and wine

and though you two do this kind of thing quite a bit

something just feels… different

he can’t stop smiling

or looking at you

and it makes you blush

he pours your drink

and he’s a little shaky from the nerves

“Are you alright?”

“Yeah! I’m fine!”

the night progresses on

fireflies are lighting up the space around you

and Sidon takes a deep breath

“I have something for you.”

you tilt your head

he digs into his cravat and pulls out the ring

“I had it made for you. I remember you saying rings are one of the rituals of courtship for Hylians.”

“Sidon…”

“In Zora courtship, we like to make things for our partner, and I… I wanted it to be special.”

you’re speechless

“I’ve been wanting ask this for a while, and I wasn’t sure how to, but… I want this, our relationship, to be something longterm; something… life-long. Is that something you’d be willing to… take part in?”

and you nod, the tears starting to well in your eyes

“Really?”

“Yes!”

he pulls you in close, placing his lips on yours

the passion he feels for you is endless

he pulls away slowly, taking the ring from your hand

and he gently slides it onto your finger

you look at each other with teary-eyed smiles

your hands in Sidon’s

“I love you”
