kids at work r always trying figure out what my gender "actually is" (except for the ones who accepted the im like mewtwo explanation) and they'll come to me with these Aha! gotcha observations and usually theyre like...stuff theyve clearly heard from their parents like guys have hairy legs and girls have longer hair etc etc.

each time they do it i'll point out a cis person (they understand what being trans is its the fact that im not a boy or a girl that they find confusing) they know of who doesnt fit that stereotype either and we'll talk about what this stereotype is saying and if its helpful or harmful and if they think its true or just something theyve heard and theyll go away and think about it for a few days before coming back with an even more obscure reason that im one gender or another and we'll repeat the process

i honestly dont mind doing this cause theyre mostly just curious and its got the older kids especially Thinking about their own genders and also theyve started coming up with really funny reasons and sometimes theyre so good i'll be like ya sure this week im [gender] because of [ludicrous kid logic]

anyway i was a guy last week cause i wear belts
