Can’t believe I’m back invested in these dumb books, but Chinduggery is finally canon after fifteen years and here I am, drawing a woman dancing with a skeleton, anyway China Sorrows is the baddest bitch alive, cheers.
The gothic history podcast I'm listening to:...this wine is said to be buried deep within the catacombs of Paris and is so ineffably delicious that a man died trying to get it....
Me, immediately: Matthew de Clairmont snuck down into the Paris catacombs decades ago and took every single bottle...

This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone
New episode!!!
This book broke our brains and hurt us and we both loved it. Listen to us talk all about this epistolary sci-fi romance that we couldn't get enough of. We dive into analysis from a queer perspective as two queer readers and share our own feelings about the book (spoiler: we loved it).
Seriously. This book is incredibly gorgeous. It hurts the same way a kiss can and it fills you up like hunger does. The themes in this book, the structure of the narrative, the language, all of it works together to create a story that spans time and space and still manages to find its home in a hole in the center of your chest.
This may be the first time I've successfully reviewed an ARC before the book's official release date ^^'
Thank you so much to @RachelBowdler_ for letting me get my grubby mitts on this little stunner of story
Review: Partners in Crime by Rachel Bowdler
When I saw the ARCs for Rachel Bowdler’s latest book, Partners in Crime, get announced I practically threw myself onto booksprout to grab a copy. I didn’t even have an account set up, but I knew that this book would be a five star read for me. After all, it ticked literally every box: friends to lovers, sunshine x grump dynamic, sapphic romance and a…

Set on You is about the story of Crystal Chen a curvy fitness influencer and her gym nemesis that takes an interesting turn of events. This book is categorized as romantic-comedy, and I’ll try to hold on to the details because I absolutely stand this book, and recommend you to read it.
Let me know what you think, and let’s compare notes! DM’s are always open.
I read on a bookstagram page about the book being romance and fitness and it immediately sparked my curiosity so I drove to my nearest Barnes and Noble to buy it.
I have not much to say except that I absolutely enjoyed this book, yes it’s very millennial and modern, extremely full of new age references. Romantic? yes. Cheesy? not.
It was quite easy for me to enjoy the reading and it took me about two-three days to complete it (partially reading). I laughed, I gasped and I cried, I enjoy romance and I actually think this is quite refreshing and more “real world romance” that other romance books I’ve read. Also, dates binge-watching movies after a full 12-16 hr shift? EXTREMELY relatable, this is modern romance and I think is beautiful.
📚 Recommendation 4/5 🌟
I encourage you to read this book if it sparks your interest. I absolutely recommend reading it, it did not have one single boring page, extremely comical and relatable.
