My dad gave me this little dragon thing that’s green and gold and it immediately got me thinking..

What if Hagrid got his hands on a dragon during the Marauders era and his first thought was Remus. Remus is a magical creature himself so Hagrid thought “he’d be great to take care of this Dragon!”. So Hagrid got Remus over to his hut and gave him this baby green and gold dragon (obviously Hagrid would help him take care of it). When Remus got back to his dorm, with the little dragon hidden in his robes, his friends immediately asked where he’d been. He made his friends promise not to tell anyone then showed them the dragon. I think they would’ve freaked out because it’s a fucking dragon, and they would be like “Moony you can’t take care of a dragon! Are you crazy?” And then Remus would be like “yes”. Remus would put all these protective charms on the dragon, so that no one with ill intentions could go near it, and threaten his friends. Obviously they wouldn’t rat him out because, come on, we know them better than that. And then Remus would’ve ran down to the library to look for all the books on taking care of a dragon. Then, he would’ve seen Regulus (This is in the au that Regulus and Remus were secretly friends.) and he would’ve seen the hidden dragon. Regulus definitely would be like “is that a bloody dragon?” And Remus would tell him what happened with Hagrid and that he’s taking care of it. Regulus would think about it for a sec then, bc I feel like he would actually love dragons, he’d ask “what’s its name?”. Remus wouldn’t have named it yet and would be like “idk I don’t have a name for them yet.” And Regulus would ask to help come up with a name. Then what if Remus asked if he wanted to co-parent with him and help him take care of the dragon bc he knows how much reg loves them. Then, bc he has bad impulse control, Regulus Black would’ve definitely said yes. They would look up names and come up with Atlas, a Greek mythological name. They’d make plans to meet up and switch to had Atlas every other week. Regulus and Remus would have a platonic dragon child.

Remus would burn the whole goddamn world for his star. He would kill anyone that ever hurt Sirius. I’m not just saying this cause Alpha Remus (which yack btw, my boy is a cinnamon roll) I’m saying it because I see Remus as the type of person to always protect his family

And Sirius is his family goddamit

Yeah some people say they are toxic for each other, okay if thats how you see them, fine by me, everyone has every right to headcanon them as however they want. Some say they fight everyday and make up by midnight, sure, valid

But I just hate the Regulus stans

I’m sorry, but I do

Cause they will literally never try to see anyone’s else point of view, they put Reg over every character like they will say James is to clingy or to brash and poor little Reggie has to put up with that

Or how Sirius is a bad brother for leaving him ( he was a fricking child, he was trying to survive)

Or that Sirius chose James over Reg

But no one talks about Reg’s mistakes, how he pushed away his brother, how mean he was to James

Look, I don’t hate Regulus, I actually like his character a lot, but he isn’t a saint. That’s my point

Neither are any other characters. They all did mistakes

But for the love of God, can we please stop with this Regulus worshiping? He isn’t God reincarnated. He has flaws too.

And stop the Sirius vs Regulus debate, of which brother is better

They were just children trying to survive and I get Regulus pain, but I’m and older sibling myself and I would give my soul to be the younger one

Cause I did a lot for my sibling that I wished was done for me

listen, there are a ton of headcanons of Sirius finding out about Jegulus and the most popular one is him being clueless the entire time and then like “wtf … ewww … no.” which is fun and all, BUT hear me out:

Things I don’t get about the marauders fandom as someone who’s been obsessed with them for literal years

1. How we let so many characters be only children?? like I get that people don’t necessarily want to make OCs but HOW did it get to this? James, Marlene, Peter, Remus, Mary, Barty, Dorcas, Alice, Frank and so many others! Idk maybe it’s just where I’m from but look me in the eyes and tell me you know that many people who don’t have siblings ALSO the ratio is so off and barely any of them have only child energy. It’s just not right.

2. How sooo many of you aren’t multi shippers. Like what do you MEAN you can only see James with Regulus and Regulus with James?? What about bartylus? what about sunrose? what about draksun/sunkiller? what about moonwater? what about jily? what about prongstail? WHAT do you read?? Aren’t you bored??? WHAT DO YOU MEAN you only have ONE ship for each character???? As a multi shipper, I can be convinced of any ship with anything ranging from a real good fic or a pretty edit to an enthusiastic rant from a random person on TikTok and it just makes things interesting. Maybe my adhd brain just needs more ships to focus on or maybe some of you just lack flexibility ( or imagination), but we need to fix this cause there aren’t enough fics with the ships I like 😭😭

3. THE SHIP NAMES. I can’t be the only one who thinks some of these suck right? Like why are we saying jegulus when starchaser and sunseeker are RIGHT THERE?? Same with jily and flowerpot, and bartylus and starkiller. ALSO some names make me wonder if some of you just haven’t grasped the concept of ship names or if I just got it all wrong cause marylily and jegulily are just annoying, why are we keeping the L in Lily? The point is to merge the names together not stick them one beside the other, I just say marily and jeguily because it rolls off the tongue so much more easily

4. The Peter erasure. I just don’t get it, it’s so easy to include him in things, you don’t have to make him a main character, but just mention him every once in awhile. Sometimes I’m reading an important scene in a fic and everyone is mentioned EXCEPT for Peter! It’s so easy, just make him roll his eyes at his friends being idiots or something. And it’s not like you’ll get his personality wrong, ALL THESE CHARACTERS PERSONALITIES WERE MADE UP BY FANS but I understand that some people lack imagination so here’s some things about Peter I like to imagine: he’s a HUGE gossip, like my man sees and hears everything and he takes notes!! He likes to randomly turn into a rat and take a nap in one of the other marauders’ pocket, he does it so much that they had to tell the girls that they had a pet rat cause they were asking too many questions. He’s really perceptive and his friends are all oblivious so it leads to funny scenarios like:

Remus & Sirius after YEARS of pining: we’re dating

Peter: I thought you guys had been together since third year?

Sirius: I’ve literally introduced you to people I was dating?!

Peter, shrugging: look mate I don’t question you lot anymore, you do whatever you want, I don’t care what you’re into, I just don’t wanna know about it

He also pulls people, like he’s really nice and will gossip to anyone who’s in his vicinity so he’s friends with basically everyone and he’s funny and pretty and he’s got charisma so he just charms everyone and when I say everyone, I mean everyone, even the slytherins have a soft spot for him (that’s how he gets accepted among the death eaters during the war actually). In pranks he’s the lookout so he often has to distract the teachers so he asks them random things and spits out half-made up facts about anything so he’s besties with most of the teachers which means he doesn’t get many detentions.

5. The Black brothers, more specifically the way the speak to each other in most fics, like they call each other “brother” so often and as someone who has a brother I’ve never called him that. Is it an anglophone thing? Like do people who speak English at home all do that or are fic writers only children?? (That would explain my first point actually) Or is it more a rich people thin?? Cause I know it’s not a francophone thing that’s for sure (also special mention to people who don’t know anything about French writing Sirius and Regulus as French speakers, I can tell you don’t know what you’re writing about but I eat it up everytime anyway)

6. This is actually just about ao3 but I WANNA BE ABLE TO LEAVE MORE KUDOS!!! I just loooooove fics but I can’t leave kudos at every single chapter and I’m bad at writing comments so I can’t show the author how much I love their work, I hate itttt 😭

7. Why there aren’t more fics about the Black family, and not just Sirius and Regulus, but Andromeda, Bellatrix and Narcissa as well like that would be so interesting and maybe like a deep dive into the Black family ideals and all that (if you have fic recs I’m all ears!!)

8. How jegulily is a pretty popular ship (which I LOVE) yet SO FEW people ship Regulus and Lily outside of it! They are a power couple and I love them and they don’t need James to work!!!

9. Why there isn’t more background Minnie x Poppy cause they are my mothers and I wanna see them moooooreeee

What if! The Black Brothers and Rosier Twins were friends growing up. Regulus and Pandora have always been close, but Evan and Sirius use to be close, cause they were the older of the siblings (I headcanon Evan to be the older twin, and that their birthday is before Regulus's), and other reasons, but mostly that. What if a few days before Sirius left for Hogwarts, the Rosiers spent the night, and while Reg and Dora were asleep, Sirius made Evan promise to watch over Reggie while he was gone. What if Sirius told Evan that it was his responsibility to watch over Dora and Reg now that he was gone at school, just like how Bellatrix told Andromeda, who told Narcissa, who told Sirius. What if that's why Evan and Reggie, initially, became best friends? They were obviously friends before, but they weren't super close until Sirius left. What if Evan was just as devastated as Reg when Sirius came back for Christmas holiday and realized he had changed? What if that made him resent Sirius a little, what if seeing Regulus be hurt by it as well made him resent him even more? What if, despite Evan resenting Sirius a bit, he still tried to be his friend (cause I believe they were each others first best friend that weren't their siblings)? What if Evan convinced Regulus and Pandora to find Sirius on their first train ride to Hogwarts, because he wanted to sit with him? What if when they found him, he was already sitting with his Gryffindor friends and was mad that they had come to find him so he took them out of the compartment and told them, in French, that they weren't kids anymore and they don't have to follow him everywhere he goes, that he has his own friends now and doesn't need them pestering him, what if that's the first time Evan thought he hated Sirius? But what if, despite hating Sirius, he still followed his orders of taking care of Reg and Dora? What if that's (part of) the reason why he joined the Death Eaters in the first place, so he could take care of Regulus? What if Regulus saw Evan more like a big brother than Sirius after Sirius left him? What if that made Sirius hate Evan? What if they both died hating their first friend?

Unpopular opinion but......

Am I the only one who misses the og marauders? The marauders fandom isn't even about the marauders now, 99% of their canon personality traits hv been replaced with cliqued behaviour. For some reason there's a massive obsession with their sexuality and I just don't get it? Lyk can't u have a character with any sexual orientation with personality traits outside it anymore? Does there really need to be a complete erasure of their most defining traits? I just wish we could get the actual marauders era characters back

James Potter: Pureblood, rich, intelligent, arrogant, a bully, but extremely loyal; took Sirius in and turned into an animagus for his werewolf bestie when the whole world would have shunned him; he could have led a life of utmost comfort but chose to risk his life and fight for those he loved in a war that didn't even concern him personally. His last words were asking his wife and child to escape while he tried to hold voldy off without a wand

Sirius Black: Haughty, a bully, extremely good looking, cool, rich, blood traitor by 16, comes from a family of literal death eaters, very intelligent, loyal, will do anything for those he loves( especially james and later Harry), thick as hell (my boy really survived in a depression prison for 12yrs, tht too after all the horror he'd seen before that), dark, very traumatized and broken

Remus Lupin: Gentle (yup u read that right), kind, mischievous (ppl really overlook this), very insecure, let james and Sirius bully Snape coz he was too thankful for their acceptance and affection to tell them off, considered himself undeserving of love, his self loathing prevents him from being a responsible adult/ parent for Harry, lowkey manipulative. Very compassionate and empathetic even after everything he's been thru tho

Peter Pettigrew: Considered slow and stupid, insecure, tags along with the others for protection, but obviously cunning and manipulative, a disgusting rat tho

Regulus Black: Teenage Reggie worshipped death eaters, he had newspaper clippings of them on his wall, completely believed in those racist ideologies until he realised what the reality of being a death eater was. He tried to bring voldy down but there's no evidence of him completely changing his beliefs about everything else like muggle borns, muggles, werewolves etc. Very cunning and intelligent tho, he discovered voldemort's secret before Dumbledore did. Liked kreacher but kreacher was also brainwashed with pureblood ideology, so I ll only give him half the credit. Bravely sacrificed his life in the end, but he still chose to protect his racist family.

Lily Evans: muggleborn, good at portions, described as popular and vivacious, pretty, the favourite sibling, isn't afraid of standing up to ppl (tht smirk in swm tho?), very brave, and most importantly (ppl really choose to forget this nowadays) a mother who stood in front of her baby boy in hopes of saving him from the darkest wizard alive even tho she herself was only 21 at the time, tht too right after losing her husband. Tho I'd still say that lily is a badly written character

It's fun to explore characters but not one of these core characteristics r even present. They're turned into one dimensional social justice warriors who r always right in everything they do

Now I get it, ppl want them to fit with current day ideals, but y not just create different/new characters then? What's the point of holding on to that nostalgia if most of their character isn't even there anymore? Where's all the toxicity coming from? And anyone who doesn't agree is homophobic and whatever other -phobic u choose to employ in the most irrelevant context ever. It's all so stupid smh🙄

Lily and Sirius would so be besties just bc of the fact they bond over sibling issues.

James and Marlene were childhood best friends, and they never stopped just blabbing random shit to each other.

Mary and Remus would always hang out together and bond over anything and everything.

Regulus and Pandora would do crazy potion stuff together and invent new things

Dorcas and Barty would do batshit crazy things to impress who they liked at that time, or just do batshit crazy things in general

Evan and Dorcas would go around terrorising teachers

Peter and Pandora would sit down and have nice games of chess and the most random conversations about plants and chess moves

I put this idea into a wolfstar discord server but I felt the need to put this into the world.

I PRESENT...

restaurant au

sirius's pov

server/bartender sirius, new at the job, freshly disowned at like 22 or something. he has a reputation around town for being a bit of an asshole because of his majorly asshole family, and when he's working, he is working, and he makes money because he's young and pretty (not necessarily because he's any good at his job) and some people don't like that. also because of the whole, straight into serving and thrown onto bar because he's friends with james despite no experience. but he's charming and people eventually warm up to him.

line cook remus (with the amount of cigarettes he smokes it only makes sense, also imagine sirius trying to flirt his way to free food and remus being like "lol no", might work with customers but not with me). HIS SCARS ARE FROM A WORKPLACE ACCIDENT FROM WHEN HE WAS LIKE 18 THAT CAUSES CHRONIC PAIN BUT HES SO GOOD AT HIS JOB THE KEEP HIM THERE AND HES BEEN WORKING IN RESTAURANTS SINCE HE WAS 16? ALSO FLEAMONT LOVES HIM.

fleamont owns the place, hence how sirius gets the job in the first place, and like james is a manager because nepotism. sirius and james met in school and were close ever since. james is like, the cool manager who actually listens to the employee and takes their side but does it so kindly that nobody really minds it. everyone loves james. he is the sun.

peter is a busser, (why did i put him as a busser? because they're overworked and underpaid and under appreciated which is how it lowkey went in their friend group, it also puts him in a place of admiration or envy because he wants to be where sirius or remus or james are at, and they don't see why because their jobs are all respectively hard but peter just sees the money BECAUSE BUSSERS ARE NEVER FAIRLY COMPENSATED FOR THEIR WORK (-a server)) he betrays them after effie and fleamont dies and james takes over the business he starts stealing money and stuff and forging checks to the homophobic organization called the death eaters.

lily is the main chef. chef lily. yes chef, please step on me. when remus starts to fall victim to sirius's charm she checks him right then and there and is like "uh no you don't". she yells at james to keep his servers in line because he manages foh and "GOD DAMN IT JAMES WHO THE FUCK RUNG UP THIS TICKET" (it was sirius). i present. chef lily.

marlene is also a server, and so is mary. the two are the work besties when they serve. they always are together, their sections are right next to each other and lily loves them so much because they know how to ring up a ticket. marlene is very popular with the younger crowd and older people love mary. their sections are always next to each other.

dorcas is a host and works to go. the end. she hosts and gets pissed off because her saying "Sirius. I seat in a rotation" and "McKinnon. You've been here for 10 minutes you are not cut." just make sense to me. she can take charge and lead and her manning to go and hosting at the same time makes sense to me.

eventually regulus escapes. he gets a job there and actually was a death eater. i think it would be funny if sirius convinced james to put him in foh to fuck with him, but he doesn't survive one day without threatening a customer (sirius intervenes and smooths it over. not really. there's a brawl in the dining room) and so james puts reg on the lined, where he meets remus and lily.

evan dies. he doesn't make it out of the death eaters. he was at the wrong place at the wrong time and he gets killed by a police officer. barty gets arrested, he goes to the police officers house and tortures him and his wife and gets arrested with other death eaters, even though they weren't gay and were white and straight and everything the group idealized. that's what made regulus run, and that's why pandora ends up taking her life.

tom riddle is a political figure. in the background of everything he is looming and is trying to write homophobic legislation and pass it into law. his followers are the death eaters. dumbledore is another political figure. it's the lesser of two evils.

the blacks are known as important polititians (orion) and a cutthroat lawyer (wally), and they make many donations and publicly announce their support to the death eaters. the potters are known for their monopoly on restaurants in london, with fleamont managing them and effie taking care of the legal part. they're both known to be kind instead of cold.

Anyway.

one time sirius gets absolutely berated, and actually hit by a table because apparently he was flirting with the girlfriend of the man there (he was not)and he acts impassively and just turns around and walks to the back where he starts sits in the walk in. remus comes in because they're all looking for him 10 minutes later because "sirius GET YOUR FOOD". he finds him just sitting blankly and tells him to get his food. when sirius flinches, remus realizes something isn't okay. the closer remus gets the more emotions slip out of sirius until remus is holding him, oh so gently, as the new server, not only a week into his job, breaks into pieces before his eyes. There's an angry red mark on his check and remus knows. Fuck. he knows what happened out there and he should have checked on him when he saw sirius walk past him with that numb expression he sometimes gets before plastering on a smile. fuck fuck fuck. sirius is sobbing and remus doesn't know what to do, he's not good at this, his hands break and ruin and can only create with the guidance of others like lily, and then they can make something divine, but right now there's nobody there and remus doesn't know what to do with sirius fucking black, now practically sitting on his lap as he cries about his brother (he had a brother?) and his mother and god he can hear her. please remus make her stop yelling in my ears. sirius doesn't know what to do and he just sits there, helpless as the tsunami of emotions drown him. he should have never convinced reg to skip swim with him because now he can't breathe and he's gasping for air as tears and snot fill his lungs and mouth and fuck he needs the money. his tables have been neglected for what, 20 minutes? what if he was sat. he needs the money but he can't go out like this, his carefully placed makeup smudged with the heel of his palm. calloused fingers swipe under his eyes and he flinches away and cries and apologized more. scarred hands hold his face and tell him it's okay and there's a noise and talk and maybe that's pete but he can't tell and james is here. james is here. and he's being led to the managers office and god it was so cold in there. he's being told to go home and fuck he's fired. oh but he isn't and the kind scarred man who hasn't left his side, who's rough fingers are interlaced with his, is going to drive him home and he trusts him. he trusts remus lupin.

ok so around a year ago i came up with maybe the best marauders modern au ever and then i just like drifted from the fandom and never wrote it so now im offering it up for whoever may wish to use it. so basically it was about a high school music department and it worked so so well in my mind

so like the og marauders were solidly the jazz band kids. james played sax and got all the solos, sirius played drums, remus played bass (wolfstar rhythm section!!!), peter played the tuba, marlene played the trombone. they also were in like the normal band tho where sirius being a percussionist and having to learn like the xylophone is objectively funny. also mary played the clarinet in concert band and frank was the trumpet player that everyone looked up to.

remus also played bass in the orchestra, as did lily, but she's classically trained and doesn't do jazz band (they're still stand partner besties tho). regulus was 1st violin and really stressed about it and snape was 2nd violin because of course they're both orchestra kids and if course they have beef. pandora played the viola, but was also a soprano in choir.

dorcas was THE choir alto, alice was the senior soprano that everybody loves, and evan was that tenor that is a jock and nobody expected to join choir. barty was a tech crew kid, and of course evan does the school musical and rosekiller ensues

Fanfic ideaaaa

So I was just thinking abt my favorite gay dead wizards when I got this idea (btw I don’t think this is an original idea, and I know parts of it have been written before!)

What if Sirius was a Slytherin?

Then I started thinking abt the rest of the Black family and what it would be like if they were all a group. Like just imagine them walking around Hogwarts together doing like a power walk lmao.

Anyways, what I was thinking was this:

Bella, Cissa, Sirius and Reggie as like a group. They are all slytherins and like actually crazy and evil.

Andromeda is not a part of the order, but she’s still on the “good” side during the war. (there are no good people in war but yk what I mean)

During their Hogwarts years, James, Remus and Peter are besties and are friends with like all the other Gryffindors we hear abt but they despise Sirius and Regulus.

so it’s ENEMIES TO LOVERS yaaayyy

so the “good” guys all join the order. (I hate Dumbledore)

But the thing is, Sirius and the others (the “bad″ guys) don’t actually want to be death eaters, they just have so many family issues and are doing it to make their parents proud. Bella and Cissa too.

THEY HAVE SO MANY ISSUES

so the bad guys all show up to an order meeting!!!! wooo and the good guys are NOT happy. They don’t believe that they are good.

So basically it’s an enemies to lovers with wolfstar and jegulus but jegulus as the main ship.
