last night something absolutely terrifying happened. i was working an overnight, i monitor teens at a group home. i was sitting in the back office and at around 12:45 AM i start to hear some movement in the back yard. the house isn’t in a great neighborhood so i get a little paranoid that there’s someone back there since the yard is open to the alley. i get up to close and lock the window and close all the blinds. immediately after i sit back down, i hear this ominous double whistle, high pitch to low pitch, like a lil weeee-oooo. at this point i’m getting scared. then i hear it again. closer. and again. even closer. and over and over again and again until it’s right outside the fucking back door. but i never heard any footsteps. not a single one. now i’m mortified. i decide to lock myself in the managers office and hide in the corner until my coworker gets there at 6. the whistling went on all night, right outside the door, until the sun came up. i told someone about it while it was happening and he told me he had heard about that from mexico and whatever i do, do not whistle back. in the morning when my coworker gets there, i fill her in on everything that happened overnight. we do some googling and apparently people have had the exact same experience before. it seems to be an evil spirit trying to get you to communicate with it and when you hear it, you need to hide. i finally get home around 8 AM. as i’m falling asleep, something hits me. it’s not the first time i’ve heard that whistling before. but last time, it was outside my apartment. slowly coming up the stairs. all night. until it was right outside my front door. but that time i made the biggest mistake i could’ve made. i didn’t hide

Overnight

After she got a gentle kiss from Light, Melon got up, and gave them a sweet kiss in return, turning both as red as tomatoes. They looked away and chuckled, taking a moment for the euphoria to lessen.

But their faces remained red, and their laughter only increased. Then, Light carefully sat upright, rubbing their head, though shortly after, Melon softly hugged them, burying her face in their mane.

As their smile grew ever brighter, Light gently hugged Melon and gave her a sweet kiss on her head, before magically taking her blanket, placing it over her shoulders. She could do nothing but laugh!

Eventually, though, Light told Melon they felt tired, and wished to rest, trying their best to hold in a yawn. Melon let go suddenly, still wearing a silly smile, and quietly said she understood why.

Walking closely together, barely able to look at the other without smiling sweetly, every room they passed, every hall they entered, everywhere they went, one could feel their sweet love immediately.

In Light's room, Melon helped carefully sit them down on the bed, for which Light thanked her, with another kiss on her cheek. Poor Melon! Because of Light, her blush shone brightly through her coat!

She sweetly nuzzled Light's nose before wishing them a good night, and turning around to head back. At that moment, Light asked her to wait, and politely asked if she could stay the night, with them?

Unable to find the words, Melon stammered, until Light continued, saying that her mere presence was enough to calm their mind. They feared their nightmares, but with her nearby, they were not afraid.

In response, Melon closed their door, and helped Light move the room's beds side-by-side. Then, she laid down in one while Light laid in the other. Then, holding her hoof, they fell asleep instantly.

Soon after, Melon fell asleep as well. Dreaming of incredible tales about which Light had told her, she felt even better, knowing that her presence calmed them. In the morning, she awoke before them.

It was then, she realised, she was in Light's gentle embrace, on their side of the bed.
