You know how a pretty obvious majority of kinksters are submissives? You want to know a big part of the reason why it's hard to find a dom that's into the same hard kink you are?

Not only does the attitude of murderous hatred against doms/tops with hard kinks/fetishes/paraphilias make it difficult for them to practice those kinks (safely and ethically) out of fear of social backlash if it's ever found out even if both they and their partner[s] had a great time and are fine-- but, it actively puts innocent people in danger by equating thoughts and attractions of ANY KIND to the act of hurting others against their will. It equates fantasy, which can oftentimes be played out safely if in a modified way with real harmful actions.

Also, kink is still illegal in many places, so don't "its illegal" me about harder kinks. Law is not morality, none of us are free until all of us are free, etc. You get the gist.

You want to see more doms? Meet someone who can indulge your "scary badwrong" sexy feelings? Then maybe don't actively promote a culture where you put ANY kind of attraction or kink under fire. It doesn't matter if it'd be unethical to act out in real life. Some of the most common kinks worldwide are unethical as fuck to act out irl, including rape. That's why we have cnc, come on, guys.

You know what? In fact, you SHOULD actively shun people who shame others for their sexual feelings. EVEN if you think it's gross. EVEN if it wouldn't be ethical to act on irl. Let these types know that their puritan ideals are NOT accepted here. i know that we love to talk about how much kageyama learned from suga, but it's important to remember that it went both ways, because suga learned from kageyama as well.

when we first meet suga, he's (quietly) shouldering the blame for asahi and noya leaving. kageyama shows up, and suga's relieved that there's a setter better than him because he won't have to handle that responsibility of guiding the ace, of getting the ball to his spikers. he thinks that maybe he can fall back into the shadows, because karasuno has a genius setter now, so what use would they have for a regular one?

and yet.

kageyama wants to fight suga for the position. "the gap in experience between us isn't that easily overcome!" "suga-san, you better not be doing this to give me the position." he knows he's good. but he still respects suga, as a senpai, as another setter, and kageyama knows that he has shortcomings in areas that suga excels at.

and he says as much to suga. and suga promises to fight him for that starting position.

by the time the shiratorizawa match comes around, suga has gained so much more confidence. but he admits that he's still scared of being blocked and he does not have the same unwavering faith in his spikers (in himself) that kageyama does. he acknowledges that it is a relief having kageyama there.

and yet he steps onto the court anyways.

because suga doesn't give up. even when he's scared (not anymore).

and what happens is this: suga goes to spike (something he is terrified of) and tendou blocks him. and suga simply promises to do it again. and when the time comes, suga runs forward without hesitation, and tendou leaps to block him, because to him, the ball has to be going to suga.

(and then it doesn't, and tendou realizes he was wrong, and suga's smiling and promising to do it again.)

when we first meet suga, he's relieved that there's a better setter than him.

in a few months' time, that is no longer the case.

my most normie opinion ever is that i thought it was kind of funny. the design is so weird in like a humorous way, and i think their deadpan delivery was silly ("do you not hear the symphony of atoms dying in space?"). i mean its definitely a wackier approach but i didnt hate it

Thinking abt the seven birds speech again in relation to the forgotten decade again because like. The vast majority of their titles describe them in the stolen century but are broken in the decade after. The twins are separated, Barry loses his lover, Magnus fails to protect Julia and Raven's Roost, Merle abandons the peaceful beach and his family. There are still remnants, in how they act, particularly with Barry being driven by his love and gestures such as Merle attempting to make peace with Gundren Rockseeker, but broadly their titles don't fit as well as they used to.

This is with the glaring exception of Lucretia and Davenport.

Lucretia was always the journal-keeper, but lonely? You could argue her title is split in two; she used to be just the journal-keeper where she no longer is, and she is now lonely like she didn't used to be.

Meanwhile, Davenport's title of wordless one is only applicable to his voidfished self.

I don't know where I'm going with this, but it's interesting. I think there's something vital in that it's coming from Maureen, who had the most contact with Lucretia. Did she ever see those lonely journals? Hear stories of the twins and the lover and the protector and the peacemaker? See Davenport without words in the BoB? There's something there.
