#or at least their ability to ward off curses

Realizing it's my own fucking story and I can worldbuild however I want is SO fucking dangerous I could say that curses are incredibly easy to perform in this world but they require you to know someone's face to cast them and then it'd be a small leap to say that masks helmets and other face coverings are commonplace because of this and bam I'm already like halfway to never having to draw a fucking face again

Mattheo guided you to an empty carriage with his palm gently grazing the small of your back. If you were in your right state of mind, you'd shove his hand away. Probably.
But at that moment, he was the only person holding you upright. You had no idea what was wrong with you, what this overwhelming feeling was.
It's just the adrenaline, tesoro. It'll pass. Theo had barely spoken to you since school started, not including the few nights you'd been on patrol with him late at night or in Ancient Runes and Transfiguration. Everytime you interacted with Mattheo he seemed to become agitated, as though it wasn't his idea to have his best friend teach you control.
You sat in the far corner of the carriage silently as they deliberated what to do about the necklace that was floating between you all, and for some reason you felt an odd tingling, cold sensation wash over you as it came closer to you.
"Should we take it to Snape? Or straight to Dumbledore?" Zabini asked as he used his wand to rotate the antique, looking at it with distaste. Theo and Mattheo seemed to debate this as Enzo nodded in agreement immediately.
"No we take it to Madame Pomfrey." Pansy injects. "She's going to need to see what cursed Katie. So she knows how to heal her."
"She could've died." you say quietly into the warmth of your scarf. They all turn to stare at you. "The necklace is famously doused with a death curse. Over a few dozen muggles supposedly died instantly when they touched it with their bare hands. Had she not had her gloves on, she would have died."
They look stricken, as if this had not occurred to them at all. The air in the carriage went frigid, suddenly. And not because of the chill.
"All the more reason to get it to Dumbledore." Zabini insists, but you vehemently disagreed.
"No, Pans is right. Madame Pomfrey needs to see the necklace. I doubt she'll be able to treat Katie here, Hogwarts won't have the necessary resources for this sort of thing."
Zabini seemed to think on this and in the end you all agreed; when you reached the Hospital Wing where Katie Bell was writhing helplessly in a bed, you all but collapsed into Mattheo's awaiting arms.
~∞~
You've discovered that fainting is an odd sensation. One moment you felt fine, fine enough to function normally at least, then the next minute everything is a hazy void of nothing.
You wake up in a bed in the hospital wing, Hermione next to you, reading a muggle novel with a furrowed brow. She jolts up when she sees that you're conscious.
"You're awake. I'll get Madame Pomfrey, hold on." And she's off down the aisle of warded beds, back seconds later with the matron in tow.
Madame Pomfrey fusses over you for a moment, asking you all the generic questions, that you answer only with half-truths, before leaving you alone with Hermione once again when you answered sufficiently enough.
"How do you really feel?" your best friend asked, her face full of worry. "Harry and Ron wanted to be here, Ginny too, but they have Quidditch practice."
"I feel like I got hit over the head with a hammer." you say, your voice rough and hoarse. "What even happened? The last thing I remember is walking into the Hospital Wing."
"Nott said you passed out when you came to hand the necklace in. Riddle got you settled into bed and let Madame Pomfrey do her work. But she hasn't said what is implicitly wrong with you." she explained and you stared up at her incredulously.
"But I only fainted? It's not that serious, is it?" your anxiety spikes and, not intentionally, you blocked out Hermione's voice in order to get some answers.
I hear helped me into bed? I could've sworn you don't have a nice bone in your body, guess I was wrong.
You're awake. He sounds surprised...relieved.
Obviously or I wouldn't be communicating with you right now, would I?
Funny. His voice is filled with mirth at your sarcastic response. How do you feel, sweetheart?
Do you want the lie I told so that I could leave the Hospital Wing quicker, or the real answer?
I'd hope that all the time we've spent in each other's presence would warrant the truth, Meadow.
I feel like shit, Mattheo. I don't even know what caused it, I felt fine when we were in the carriage.
Did you? He doesn't believe you.
I mean– I think so, I– My arm doesn't hurt as much. Do you think that has something to do with it?
Maybe. Is Granger still with you?
Yes, why?
No reason.
Mattheo?
He doesn't give you a response.
Hermione is snapping her fingers in your face and calling your name as if she'd been doing it for a hot minute.
"Are you sure you're alright?" she asks, concern written all over your face.
"You know, I feel a little fatigued, I might try and sleep it off." you feel like the worst person in the world for lying to your best friend, but you want answers, and Mattheo seemed like the only person who would be brutally honest with you.
"Alright. I'll come back tomorrow with the others if you're still here after lessons are over." she smiles at you and guilt eats away at your chest.
"Thank you for staying with me, Mione." She squeezes your hand affectionately before she stands up and leaves you alone.
~∞~
Half an hour later it's not Mattheo who comes to visit like you secretly hoped for (but you were denying this to yourself vehemently). Instead Professor Dumbledore walks into the Wing with his usual grace and grandure.
"Good evening, Miss Meadows." he says cheerily as he stands before you bed. "May I sit?"
Bewildered, you nod your head silently.
"There's no need for the confusion," he says, clearly using Occlimency on you. "I see you have a good grasp on your mind. When did you learn to do this?"
"I like to learn new things." you say, brows furrowing at him as he gets comfortable in the plush seat beside your bed. He hums at your answer, rubbing his chin with the fingers of his good hand.
"I believe you experienced something rather....odd this afternoon." he began, his usually twinkling eyes holding an emotion that you could not place. "Can you describe it to me?"
"Um...I guess it started when we got closer to Katie and Leanne-" you start before cutting yourself off. "Actually, how is she? Katie? What happened to her?"
Dumbledore sighs as he answers.
"She was taken to St. Mungo's for treatment. They have far better equipped staff for dealing with dark curses. Poppy does not do that sort of healing."
"But she'll be okay?" you ask.
"She'll live, miraculously." he says before he focuses on you again. "Now back to you, Miss Meadow."
"Right. We were walking down the lanes, behind them and then I think they had stopped walking while they were arguing and it felt like an eery shift in the air. I don't know how else to describe it but then Katie touched the necklace and went up into the air. When she started screaming that's when Matt– Riddle– that's when Riddle and his friends turned up behind us. Enzo and Blaise went to find Hagrid and Ron, Theo and Riddle helped pull her down. I tried to help but when I touched her, my arm started to burn." you can fell the sting like a phantom now that you think about the pain.
"Interesting." he says as he pulls an old signet ring from his deep robe pocket, holding it out for you to take. "Can you tell me what you feel when you touch this, please?"
You do as he says and take the ring into your hands. Twisting it around your fingers, allowing your magic begins to swirl around it before it burns your fingers. You drop it in an instant. That same cold, tingling feeling you felt when Blaise rotated the necklace washed over you right afterward.
"It's cursed?" you asked, looking up at the Headmaster for confirmation, who is staring at you with knowing, inquisitive eyes.
"Something like that, yes." he says, his decaying hand twitches in response.
"Is that why your hand is like...that?" you ask, motioning to the appendage.
"Yes, rather nasty isn't it?" he says, tucking his hand away from your prying eyes. "I'm not sure what it is cursed by, but that is why I have asked Harry to befriend Professor Slughorn. I believe it has something to do with Lord Voldemort and Horis is the key to everything.
He ignores the way you instinctively flinch at the name. But thats when you notice that the ring that is still on your bed, holds the Riddle insignia. Mattheo's family crest.
"Sir, what's wrong with me?" you croak, as you turn the ring in your hands once again, letting your magic wash over it and dropping it into your lap when it zaps you with another stinging burn.
Professor Dumbledore removes the ring from your possession as he answers carefully.
"You're an incredibly smart witch, Miss Meadows." he states. "Professor Snape tells me of your incredible non-verbal abilities, and am I correct in assuming that you are also talented with wandless magic?"
You flush at this. "Yes sir."
"It is no surpise to me that your magic picks up on things that other witches and wizards may not." he says, tilting his head at you. "I believe you would make a good Unspeakable in the future, my dear. Or perhaps a curse breaker."
"What?" you ask, completely muddled by how cryptic he seemed to become. "Why do you say that? Shouldn't I be worried that I can somehow detect dark magic?"
"On the contrary...I believe it will be the most important skill you learn in this life."
With that note, he stands and with a simple goodbye leaves you lying alone in the bed with a thousand thoughts running through your head.
None of them bringing you any closer to a solid answer to the biggest questions you have:
Why the hell can you sense dark magic? Why did it cause your skin to burn? Why did it cause you to lose your grasp on consciousness?
~∞~
aaand the plot thickens...🤭🤭🤭
this was quite short but there will be more mattheo and meadow moments to come in the next one i promise xxx

One Question Answered
Tumblr media
Elijah Mikaelson x Reader
You've been avoiding Elijah since he healed you so he tracks you down but not for the reason you assume
The one side effect of Elijah healing you was that you had no excuse to stay away from the Mikaelson compound. You didn't want to drag any of them into your fight, yeah logically it made little sense to not step back and let them handle it but this was your fight. You had brought this chaos down onto the hunting community because the one thing you'd yet to even tell Rebekah was the mastermind behind trying to form a squadron of people for hire out of hunters was your ex.
You were in Marcel’s gym, something he'd worked out with Bek. It was a little crazy considering you'd been attacked by humans to be working out surrounded by vampires with earbuds in but here you were. Music blasted as you landed punch after punch on one of the heavy bags. You had people tracking Evan. He'd be found and if you cut the head off the snake that should work.
You had to show patience but the longer he was out there poisoning people against decent hunters the better a chance someone got hurt and that person may not have an original vampire ready to feed them blood to speed up the process.
You'd avoided direct conversation with both Elijah and Klaus. Klaus was simple enough to avoid, offer of a decent bourbon warmed the hybrid out of conversation. Kol would let it go when you said you would ask for help if you couldn't handle it.
Rebekah was pissed you'd lied to her initially about why you needed your Nova put into storage for a while and even more pissed you wouldn't give names to who had attacked you. Elijah, well he was even worse. You weren't sure what had changed between the two of you but the last couple weeks had been tense to say the least.
When you couldn't manage to avoid him he would of course question if you were ready to tell him who'd hurt you. More than once he'd cursed your tattoo and it's warding for taking away his ability to compel you into telling him.
When you'd accused him of not respecting boundaries he'd rebutted that it wasn't crossing boundaries to make an attempt to keep you safe. That had been days ago. You'd steered clear of the compound choosing to see Rebekah somewhere else or not at all.
—--------------
The only reason you were at Marcel's gym was because it was the only place nearby you could walk into to work off stress with no questions being asked as to why you were there.
You weren't sure where your head was but when someone pulled your earbud out of your left ear you spun around mid punch. Elijah seemed slightly amused as he easily grabbed your fist before it could make contact with his jaw “Decent hit considering” you narrowed your eyes at him and it was only then you'd noticed the gym was empty.
“What are you doing here Elijah? Rebekah said you were out of town” he shrugged almost innocently “I assumed the best way to get your guard down was to make you think I wasn't in town. You've been avoiding me it seems” you moved your hand which was still in his “Can I have this back?” He smirked slightly “Are you going to try to run to not talk to me because we both know I can catch you”
You shrugged “Why would I run when I know for a fact it would be useless” he finally let go of your hand and gave your earbud back. You took it and turned to your bag that was sitting on the floor nearby. “Well I'm not running and you wanted to talk” you spoke over your shoulder as you squatted down to put your earbuds in their case. You stood up and faced him before starting to unwrap your hands. You suddenly felt out of place standing there in an oversized shirt and Nike leggings while he was of course dressed impeccably.
His eyes roamed across your body and you felt heat rise to your face, your heart pounding in your ears. He had a habit of making you forget when you were supposed to be putting room between the two of you “I'm not here to pursue the conversation of who attacked you. I trust that should you get in over your head you'll ask for assistance”
—-----------
Elijah relished the moments he managed to render you speechless. From the moment he'd met you the ability to seemingly always have a retort waiting was something he admired about you. Even when you were uncomfortable in a situation or nervous you hid it well.
Now, watching you standing in front of him fidgeting with the hem of your shirt, he had the urge to say anything he could to make your heart race again. The sound was music to his ears. “Then what are you here for Elijah?”
He smiled slightly “While I'm not here to discuss that matter I am here for a different one” your eyes narrowed at his words, distrust clear on your face but another emotion showed there also. You were trying to hide your attraction to him but he could see it. The way your eyes tracked him, how your heartbeat increased if he touched you even innocently. It intrigued him to no end. Many years had passed since a woman demanded his attention in this way.
“Considering you wouldn't answer my calls I thought I'd try my luck face to face. Would you accompany me to dinner?”
—--------------
Did Elijah just ask you out? No, there was no way. He must have meant dinner with his siblings or another ball he wanted a plus one for. “What do you mean?” You asked rather lamely, wishing you were wearing anything besides your workout clothes with your hair up in a lazy braid.
He gave you that smile that made your stomach flip. Damn he was gorgeous. “My darling little hunter, will you go on a date with me? Was that plain enough to make my intentions clear?”
Could a brain really short circuit? Had it not been that you knew for certain that the blood Elijah had given you had indeed cured you of any of your injuries you would've been certain the taser had caused brain damage. Who knew maybe it had? “Intentions clear” you finally spoke after a moment, feeling your head spin a bit.
“Is that a yes or a no?” He asked, causing a nervous laugh to slip out from you. What was your life at this point? You nodded slowly “That's a yes Elijah. I'd love to but can I ask one thing because of something Kol and Rebekah both said”
“Which is?” He asked a bit cautiously at the mention of his younger siblings. You knew you should probably let it go but this question had been weighing on you along with the Evan situation. “They said blood sharing was a thing, like vamps didn't do it lightly and that you normally would only open a vein to save one of them. So why heal me? Why willingly give me a part of you when my injuries weren't life threatening?”
He crossed the space between the two of you, raising a hand to cup your face much the same way he had when he'd healed you and it took everything in you to not turn into his touch. His dark eyes bore into you and yet again you found your heart racing “Because seeing you injured and in pain infuriated me. Someone hurt you and had you not already lived a life filled with resiliency those injuries may very well have been life threatening. If spilling some of my blood spares you pain I'll gladly do it however many times it's necessary”
You swallowed hard before saying “Still doesn't answer why. I'm nothing special. I could be replaced a thousand times over” he shook his head, his fingers lightly lifting your chin where you had no choice but to look him square in the eye. His eyes flicked down to your lips as he spoke “I have met many people who may have been expandable, you however are not. That's why I healed you, there was no other option”
Was it lust, attraction or pure stupidity that made you close the space between you and him? The moment your lips brushed against his you could feel the tension that had long since hung in the air between the two of you threaten to burst.
One of his hands went to the back of your head holding you in place while his other went to your hip, fingertips almost bruising with how close he pulled you to him. Your hands went to his shoulders, trying to find something to ground yourself as heat washed straight through you. A light moan fell from your lips into his as he angled his head to deepen the kiss, tongue dancing across yours.
Your fingers found the back of his head, desperately tugging at the carefully styled locks. He groaned into your mouth and you felt a fresh wave of desire hit you. His hands went down to your thighs easily lifting you into his arms. You gladly wrapped your legs around his waist, never breaking free from his lips even if your lungs were beginning to burn with the need for air.
He moved across the room, bracing your back against one of the mats that lined the wall as he broke free from your lips. Your chest was heaving as he continued his assault down your jaw to your neck. You felt your heart jump when he gently nipped at the sensitive flesh of your neck, causing your back to arch off the wall pushing you into him which caused his body to react,he shifted his hips against yours. The feeling alone was enough to pull a deep moan from you. Your hands went under his jacket, fingers digging into his shoulders through the soft material of his shirt.
The sound of two throats clearing causing you and Elijah to break away from each other. You glanced over his shoulder to see Rebekah and Marcel standing in the entryway of the gym. “I had no clue you two were talking again” Rebekah greeted cheerfully as if she hadn't just walked in on you and one of her brothers.
You groaned lightly as Elijah buried his face in the skin at the bend of your neck. Seeing him so damn disheveled and knowing you were the cause was enough to make any woman have a strange surge of pride. You grinned at Rebekah over his shoulder before he leaned up to place a chaste kiss to your lips before lowering you to the ground.
Both of you quickly rearranged whatever clothing was out of place before turning to face the newcomers. Rebekah was barely containing her laughter. “I'll see you at nine?” You asked and he smirked slightly “I'll see you at nine”
You watched him walk out and looked at Rebekah “Not a word” Marcel chuckled as he walked further into the gym “Never thought I'd see Elijah so worked up over a human and he picks a hunter”
Rebekah shook her head at Marcel then looked back at you “So I'm assuming that display means you're now dating my brother?” You shrugged, still a little dazed “I have a date with him” she smiled brightly “Brilliant. Let's go shopping for you a new outfit then”

Jasper
Another boring day at this high school which means another tally added to the long list of days spent amongst hormonal teenagers for almost no reason.
Almost.
I understand the importance of learning to curb my hunger, to be able to assimilate into society as easily as my coven members. I crave the ability they possess to just exist in public without any hint of the monster that lies within. I’ll give it to Carlisle, not many places could I be immersed in an environment flush with humans, but also have the ability to blame my awkwardness with them on teenage hormones while I adjust. I’m not too keen on taking the risk with literal children, but the risk forces me to maintain a tighter grip on the bloodlust raging inside.
I still don’t like the experimentation of it all.
At least my adopted brothers and sisters are close by whenever I need. I hate that I’m not sure of myself yet, like I’m still in need of the crutch they provide should I need it. This is a never-ending war crawling under my skin. I should be strong enough to control this, I’m nearly 160 years old. I’ve commanded humans and vampires alike, why can I not command my own urges for blood?
I'm deep in my own mind walking alongside Emmett as he talks my ear off about his Jeep and the modifications he contemplates making tonight to kill time, and as we pass the front office to our high school, I nearly miss catching the door before it could crack me across the face.
Once I gain my bearings after the momentary shock of being caught in my thoughts, I let the door drift shut and look to the culprit-
Thoughts are foreign to me all of a sudden.
I immediately stop breathing in shock, my back goes rigid, and blinking becomes a thing of the past as my eyes connect with the most gorgeous girl I’ve ever seen.
I’ve never seen such a beautiful person, human or vampire, in my life. My eyes are greedy as I drink her in. From the white converse, worn overalls, the chunky sweater underneath to ward off the early morning chill, to her beautifully messy hair hastily clipped up in a twist at the base of her head - she’s a breath of fresh air and I’ve been submerged for over a century.
But what really catches me off guard is her scent. She smells like fresh lavender and something else so decadent I can’t quite put my finger on it. I can feel the beginnings of flames licking down my throat at just the microscopic inhale after releasing the door from my death-grip moments ago.
The scent of this bewitching girl had me in such a trance, enough that when Emmett delivers a clap to my shoulder to shake me from my thoughts, I didn’t even realize he was chuckling at my expense.
“Oh god I’m so sorry! I was so focused on my schedule that I didn’t even see you-“ she immediately began apologizing.
“No need to worry, doll. It’ll require a little more than a door to take me out.” I immediately interrupted her nervous rambling. Did I really just say that?
“Jasper Hale.” I stuck my hand out for her to shake, trying to start this introduction all over on the right foot.
I noticed her glance to my outstretched hand and back up to my face as her warm hand slid into mine.
“Y/n, Y/n Y/l/n.” She replied, still looking a little surprised. She squeezed my hand a little before allowing hers to slip from mine.
Just from the small amount of skin to skin contact with this beautiful girl, everything inside of me roars to life. I’m worried that if I glance at my hand, I’ll see the skin crawling from where the heat of her hand lingers.
Surprise, worry, anxiety, embarrassment, self-deprecation, awe - the emotions a rolodex scrolling in rapid succession in the forefront of my mind. The shock of meeting her momentarily throwing my supernatural ability for a loop. I haven’t had such shit control over the emotions surrounding me since I was a newborn vampire.
I’ve never had such an interesting reaction to something, or rather someone, before - it scares me slightly. I can only gape as Y/n turns and makes her way quickly to class.

Can someone die from stupidity?
I’m at my new high school for less than an hour and I’ve already made the biggest fool of myself. I almost just took out the most attractive human being at this school by complete accident.
After introducing myself to Jasper Hale, I hastily turned around and booked it for my first class in the hopes to avoid further insult to injury.
Smooth, Y/n. Real fucking smooth.

What would happen if Twins!Satoru and Canon!Satoru bodyswapped? As in just him, without Shiki attached. How would Twins!Satoru react to suddenly not sharing a body with Shiki and being in a totally bonkers universe where Suguru is DEAD, Shiki just plain doesn't seem to exist, and everything seems worse? And Canon!Satoru having to readjust to bodysharing with Shiki, who apparently is his murdered twin sister(!!?), and seeing an alive and not genocidal Suguru, would be so interesting.
Warnings: Description of body horror.
.
.
The day starts like any other.
Bright sun, white clouds. Suguru glances out the window, and makes a mental note that it’s a good day for the kids to get some sparring done outdoors. He and Riko had been workshopping the idea of having the first and second year students spar out in the surrounding forest, instead of the grassy school field. Get them used to fighting in different terrains, and it would also help them to–
Cursed energy detonates.
One moment, there’s nothing, and then in the next –a supernova. Suguru startles so badly that he nearly ends up tripping over his students when he turns, all of whom have been instantly flattened against the ground by the sheer pressure choking the air around them.
Kugisaki’s mouth opens, and closes. The normally-vibrant girl’s eyes are wide with panic, and no sound is coming out from her throat. She’s literally suffocating–
“Tamamo!” Suguru instantly calls upon the Special Grade cursed spirit using his cursed technique. The humanoid curse materializes in a swirl of illusory flames, falters, but determinedly raises a protective barrier.
Kugisaki coughs roughly. Once, twice, sharp and wracking, but Suguru can only feel relief as his student finally starts breathing again.
Fushiguro slowly raises his head, attempting to pull himself to his feet again on shaky limbs. His entire shirt is soaked through with sweat, but the boy doesn’t even seem to notice. “Geto-sensei, what in the world–?”
“The three of you need to go to the main building. That’s where the school’s protective barriers are strongest –Yaga-gakucho will be there actively maintaining the wards, too,” Suguru cuts off his student’s questions, because now isn’t the time for it. “I’ll go take care of this.”
“Ha, you think you can do anything?”
Itadori promptly slaps a hand over the mouth that opened up on his cheek –to no avail, as a new mouth promptly tears open on the back of his hand instead. Sukuna.
“Shut up,” Itadori hisses. Suguru does not miss the clear tremble in his tone, nor the worry in the compassionate boy’s eyes as he lifts his gaze. “Sensei–”
“Your sensei will be dead if he tries to fight that,” the ancient cursed spirit cackles, malevolent and amused. “To think that the world would still have cursed spirits of this level in this day and age…”
Itadori slaps another hand over the extra mouth, and this time, the King of Curses deigns to fall silent. The impact of his words leaves Suguru with three wide-eyed, fearful students, though, which is not appreciated.
“I’ll be fine.” Suguru has no intentions of fighting, and even if it comes down to a fight… well. Geto Suguru is Special Grade for a reason; he can hold his own, at the very least.
“Sensei, do you need us to–?”
“No,” he shakes his head. “This is beyond your abilities to handle –just stay with Tamamo, find Yaga-gakucho, and make sure that you stay safe.”
“But what about you, Geto-sensei?” Fushiguro makes a frustrated sound, “Where’s Gojo-sensei when you need him?!”
Suguru tries not to react too obviously to those words.
That explosive swell of cursed energy just now? The heavy cursed energy that nearly killed his students just from the looming pressure alone?
That was Shiki.
What happened?
For Shiki to react like this… it’s… unprecedented. The closest case that Suguru can think of is that time when the Sorcerer Killer had attempted to kill Satoru, but even then, Shiki had been moderately composed the entire time. So why–?
After haphazardly settling his students, Suguru summons the Rainbow Dragon and immediately takes off towards the epicenter of the roiling energy.
Satoru. Shiki. Concern seizes his heart in a vice grip, but Suguru forces himself to stay calm and keep his mind clear. It’s hard to imagine any threat that could possibly make Shiki react like this, when Satoru was arguably the most powerful sorcerer of their age just on his own, but given the circumstances–
There!
Amidst the broken wreckage and smoking rubble, a flash of white hair. Suguru urges the dragon into a steep dive, ignoring the rising panic at the sight of blood staining the ground, that’s Satoru’s blood–!
Satoru. Satoru!
Suguru leaps off of the cursed spirit, hitting the ground with a low thud, and sprints forward. Satoru is–!
It only takes an instant for Suguru to register the sight that he sees before him. Only an instant, before he’s bludgeoned by shock strong enough to leave a hollow ringing inside his head. By horror potent enough to leave him feeling as if his entire body is encased in ice.
Because that’s Satoru, doubled over on the ground on his hands and knees, blood dripping from his lips. But even so, his hands still form a shaky seal, and a wordless Red carves a swathe of destruction –directly across the writhing mass of flesh rising up from his back.
No, not just rising up from his back. His back has been torn open, and amid that formless, pulsating flesh, there is a pale arm reaching out, one that raises into a blocking gesture and withstands the powerful blast of energy. Not entirely unscathed, but that doesn’t seem to matter. The torn flesh mends itself with a burst of blood, and–
Satoru hisses, a pained sound. There is a loud crack, and then a second arm rips out from his back with a thick, renewed splatter of blood. Right before Suguru’s eyes, he can see something beginning to crawl out, the formless flesh beginning to take shape–
And he finally jerks into motion.
“Shiki, stop!” Suguru leaps forward, reaching out and seizing those pale, bloody hands before they can go any further. Shiki and Satoru share the same flesh and blood; he’d never, ever considered what it would be like if they ever got into a fight over it. “Stop it! You’re killing him!”
There’s no doubt that he’s going to be seeing this in his nightmares for months. But even so, Suguru holds on and doesn’t let go, praying that Shiki will hear him and listen.
The writhing mess of blood and flesh pauses.
Slowly, the hands that Suguru are holding onto shift so that they’re not pushing against him. Instead, soft fingers lace through his own on one hand, while the other reaches up and caresses his face.
… He’s not Toru-nii.
Shiki’s voice –echoes. An eerie, unnatural sound, faintly high and feminine, but underscored with something that marks her nature as inhuman.
“What… what do you mean?” Alarmed, Suguru glances down towards Satoru, because that’s most certainly Satoru. Except… his gaze as he looks back towards Suguru, faintly shocked and disbelieving, as if he’s seeing a ghost is…
He’s not Toru-nii, Shiki repeats herself. I’m going to devour him and find out what he did to Toru-nii.
“Please don’t do that,” Suguru instantly responds. He doesn’t know what is going on here –Satoru is missing? How?– but literally ‘devouring’ Satoru’s body sounds like a Bad Idea, no matter how she puts it. But if he wants to reason this out with Shiki… “It doesn’t matter who ‘he’ is. This body belongs to Satoru, doesn’t it? Shiki, please don’t make a mess with Satoru’s body. He’ll be very cross with you once he finds out.”
Satoru wouldn’t be, actually. He’d probably be more concerned about his little sister than his own body, but Suguru is smart enough not to mention anything about that.
Suguru…
“Be good. Don’t do anything drastic,” he admonishes gently, detecting the faint sense of unwillingness in her tone. Then, in a softer tone. “Leave this to me for now, alright? You did a number on him, so even if he tries to attack me, I’ll be able to deal with him. Easily. I understand that you’re worried about Satoru –I’m worried, too. But blowing up half the school is not the way to go about it. You could’ve killed the students.”
… Sorry.
“I’m not going to say ‘it’s alright,’ because it’s not,” Suguru sighs. “Satoru and I are both Special Grades, but you need to remember that other people aren’t, and it means that they’re a lot more fragile.”
I’m sorry. I’m sorry, Suguru.
Shiki’s hand draws back from his face; Suguru catches it, and lightly brushes his lips across her fingertips.
“I know,” he says.
Unlike most curses, Shiki might be violent, but she’s not malicious. She is, however, largely defined by her love for her brother –which explains her reaction, but he still needs to make it clear to her that it was unacceptable all the same, without coming off as overly harsh. Shiki could’ve killed Kugisaki, if Suguru hadn’t been with his students at the time, entirely by accident.
She snatches her hand out of Suguru’s when he moves to dip his head again, and he lets her go this time, faintly amused by the reaction. It’s a lot harder to run away from any teasing when she can’t just switch places with her brother, hmm?
Shiki doesn’t say another word as she pulls herself back into her brother’s body. Raw flesh and sinewy muscles contort unnaturally as they return to the original vessel, in a manner that should be anatomically impossible, but somehow works out to be perfectly fine all the same.
And then, it’s just Suguru and Not-Satoru left together amid the empty rubble.
“Suguru…? No. You’re not… who are you, really?”
The Special Grade sorcerer eyes the impostor for a moment. It doesn’t seem like he’s about to attack him, and if they could get him to cooperate in finding out what happened to Satoru…
“My name is Geto Suguru. Special Grade sorcerer, and teacher for the first year students at Tokyo Jujutsu Technical,” he introduces himself. “And you?”
“Gojo Satoru.” The other man returns his strange look with one of his own, “Also a Special Grade sorcerer, and… also the teacher for first year students in Tokyo Jujutsu Technical.”
“… What?”

Thud, thud, thud, the regular rhythm and pressure of hitting the wall of the closet with your back and shoulders is somewhat soothing.  Sitting under the hanging clothes, knees pulled to your chest.  Wearing Hunter’s sweatshirt with the hood pulled up in the dark closed closet.
The chiming of the front door sounding made you jump almost violently.  Tears made their appearance, streaking down your face. The thought of his comfort is suddenly embarrassing.  Thud, thud, thud, you immediately went back to your rocking.
He waited until he was at the door to the bedroom before he called quietly, in his low tone, “Cyare,” you know it’s just to not startle you more. You know he knew the second he walked through the front door.  The tears flowed faster, punctuated by a soft sob. No light entered the closet when he slowly stepped in. He had turned off the bedroom light.
He knelt on the floor next to you.  “Cyare, what do you need?” He asked gently.
You begin to cry harder, your mind racing.  You with normal senses but the broken way your brain dealt with them. Broken, overwhelming. At least he had immensely enhanced senses to account for his overwhelm.  You couldn’t conceive of what it would be like to have those kinds of senses, other than a hellscape.
“Do you need me to go?” He kept his tone level, trying not to inflect his desire one way or another.
Your heart clenched. While your cursed mind wondered why he dealt with you because of this, you reached out for his hand. Solid and warm, a stable point in what felt like a constantly vibrating world.
Hunter eased closer, his voice low and in your ear, “Mesh’la, I’m here,” calm, sure. “Come back to me, ner riddur, push all of the ugly voices away,”
As soon as you leaned towards his voice his other hand came up to be a firm but gentle presence on your cheek. You shivered from its grounding presence.
Slowly shifting he cradled your face in both hands with a firm, reassuring pressure. Then pressed his forehead to yours.
“Cyare, just like you helped me the other day. Don’t let your mind make you doubt. I’m here for you,” he said quietly.  “I will help you with this battle as you do with mine,”
Your breath became steadier, your heart rate slowed, the tears stopped flowing. You focused on him. You cling to the memory of helping him to ward off the negative thoughts.
“Mmmkay,” you finally mumble. And he presses a firm kiss to your forehead. Another shaky inhale that feels like fresh air in your lungs.
“Are you with me now?” He asks after several long and even breaths.
“Yes,”. You answer. He kisses your forehead again and then moves to sit next to you and you lean against him with his arm wrapped tight around you.
After many long minutes like that you feel more together, less like you are going to shake apart. You move enough to kiss his cheek.
“Thank you,” you say.
“Anything for you, cyare.  Feeling better?” He asks, you can hear the smile in his voice.
“Mostly,” you snuggle into his side.  It would be a long night yet, but with his support it would be somewhat easier.

The week before-
You walk in the front door with a basket of produce and notice immediately all power to the house was out. Setting the basket down you walk as quietly as possible to the bedroom.
“Hunter,” you whisper at the door to the room before making your way to the closet. Tech and Wrecker had soundproofed the closet to the best of their abilities, it really could only do so much for Hunter.
You ease into the closet and find him sitting, curled in on himself. You settle on the floor next to him.  After a moment you extend your hand palm up next to him and say softly, “I’m here, if you need me love,”
Quicker than you could process he had pulled you towards himself. You found yourself straddling his lap, hugged close to his body, and his face buried in your neck.
“Don’t leave,” his voice is muffled against you. “I need you”
“I’m not going anywhere,” you answer, wrapping both arms around him and squeezing in as tight of a hug you can manage. “Don’t listen to that stuff you are telling yourself.  I am here because I want to be. I love you. I need you too,” You shift to stroking his hair with gentle but firm movements, knowing how light touches could make the overwhelm worse.
Eventually the two of you would make your way out to the rest of the house and have a quiet night. But for now you are content to be held by him and comfort him.

Hmmm; Ashton, Greater Restoration? :D
This ask
Greater Restoration
You imbue a creature you touch with positive energy to undo a debilitating effect. You can reduce the target’s exhaustion level by one, or end one of the following effects on the target:
One effect that charmed or petrified the target
One curse, including the target’s attunement to a cursed magic item
Any reduction to one of the target’s ability scores
One effect reducing the target’s hit point maximum
They strike and strike and strike until the Bad stops moving.
Look around.
The Good are not being hurt anymore.
He calms. It hurts hurts hurts.
Sounds are made. To him? By him? There are sounds.
And hands. Hands are on them. Hard hands. They trust these hands. Lean into the small, hard Good. It hurts. They will keep the Good safe.
More sounds. More hands. Softer hands. Touch to his face. It hurts. Touch to a place that is and isn't. It hurts? There is sound in the place that is and isn't.
More sounds around him. Sharp sounds. Soft sounds. Sounds, sounds, sounds.
The hard hands return. They are warm now...
Ashton blinks away the haze.
"The fuck?"
"Oh thank goodness!" Fresh Cut Grass exclaims, gently squeezing the hand they have within their grasp. "I wasn't sure that was gonna work."
Ashton pinches the bridge of his nose with his free hand, trying to ward off the coming headache. "Seriously, the fuck happened?"
"You got hit with a spell and it scrambled what's left of your brain," Chetney gleely pipes up.
"At least mine isn't losing its ability to function due to age," Ashton fires back and flips the old gnome off, causing him to puff up in indignation.
"It really was bad though, Ashton," Imogen quietly says. "When you weren't responding to anything we said, I went into your mind and... There were no words, just sensation and emotion."
"Well, I'm all better now," Ashton casually reassures her. They don't like people worrying over them when there's nothing to worry about don't like seeing their friends worried.
"Yup!" FCG cheerfully chirps, gently swinging the hand he's still holding. Ashton allows it because it's FCG.
So have a bonus Feeblemind because Greater Restoration needs a reason to be cast. I've wanted to do Ashton getting a stint of Feeblemind anyways, just because some dumb mage thought they could curb Ashton's magic with it. Obviously, it doesn't go so well because barbarian. I'm gonna leave memory restoration to possibly in-campaign.

Seeing asks about Player trying to redeem the Villain Chain made me think back to an AU of mine called Wrathful Idols. Basically beings who are either volatile or wrathful and committed great violence have their souls sealed into dolls by an unknown entity. It doesn't matter if they are heroes or villains, these idols were made to house their spirits to slowly rot away.
There is a loophole though. If a Wrathful Idol ends up in the hands of a kindhearted soul then there's a chance they can be redeemed. They regain their physical body as the doll's holder becomes their 'warden' in a sense. A symbiotic relationship since the two must take care of each other if the Idol truly wants to be freed from the doll type curse.
The warden must help their ward heal whether it be mentally or spiritually and the ward protects them from harm. Doing this grants them strength and even newfound abilities based on the respective person.
Anyway, one member of the Villain Chain end up in this position and fall into the Player's grasp. Found snagged in a pitchfork on stormy day, at least two years before Dink snatches them from their world. The trapped Link immediately hates this current predicament but slowly began to mellow out as the Guide takes great care over their doll form.
Repairing the damage done, clean them up, and make sure they are in a safe place if Player has to go somewhere. Plus I feel like Guide is the type of person to talk to the plush on various stuff or include it in watching a movie etc. Completely unaware of the actual spirit gaining something that they haven't had for a long time, love.
Now when a Wrathful Idol takes a physical form, any cosmetic changed done by their warden also manifest. If Conquest had fairy wings sewn on as a doll then fully functional ones will appear on his body. The only way for an idol to take form is by vowing to protect their warden in the time they need it most.
I figured Dink snatching them away from the Chain or the Villain Chain (minus the Wrathful Idol Link in question) is one way to trigger that since their doll was on Guide's person at the moment. The newly freed ward has enough power to drive off the attacker(s) in question although Player would be so confused.
It's even more awkward with the Chain as this Link looks too much like one of them. Meanwhile the Villain Link only acts civil around the heroes for Player's sake. Man is still a dick and you gotta earn his respect.
First off I like the idea of your au! Reminds me of one of my own! We gotta love the idea of a possessed dolls/teddies/plushies etc.
I think it would be pretty interesting if it was a villain Link ward were to pop out after being with the villain Chain like imagine being traumatised by someone only for that same someone to be the one to protect you later on- I know Player is definitely not feeling so great about it OIUFHIPFUH

Hi, weird lore question for Miraculous Monsters and Magic. If a werewolf got a top surgery would like. Their boobs heal back after they shifted? Or do they make like sigils to put on top surgery scars to keep them from growing back.
That is a really interesting lore question! It's one of the things I've pondered myself in order to determine the extent of a werebeast's healing ability when they shift from one form to the other. This is what I've figured out:
The state of the body when a person is changed from human to werebeast becomes the 'default' setting they return to whenever they take their fur off. In general, alterations to the human or beast body are perceived as 'injuries' by the magic that allows beasts to shift between forms, but it's not intelligent magic - it doesn't think or learn, it just understands that the forms of the bodies given at the time of the curse are the forms it must return to for every shift.
For example, Adrien's nose. When he 'died', for lack of a better description, he smashed his face off the ground and broke his nose. While Plagg popped his nose back in place before he was resurrected, a crook remained in the bridge that became the new 'default' for Adrien's human body, so he'll always return to a human form with a roguishly crooked nose.
That's the major downside to becoming a werebeast - you better like the form you're in when you're changed, because it will be the default for the rest of your life.
HOWEVER, a werebeast's healing is not unlimited. It only works for body parts that are still attached to the body. So, bruises, lacerations, and broken bones are generally healed during a shift, to differing degrees depending on severity, of course. If an arm gets ripped off, you're out of luck. The magic isn't powerful enough to regenerate fully amputated limbs, all it can do is figure out how to heal what's left. For the case above, a ripped off arm will have the site of amputation heal over.
Big caveat here is that some limbs can be reattached after an unexpected amputation. If a werebeast wants a limb reattached, they can't shift AT ALL until after the surgery is done.
Top surgery can be understood as a form of "amputation", since an amount of tissue is being permanently removed from the body. The magic won't be able to recoup whole pieces of the body that are no longer attached, but it will try its best to heal what's left. In essence, the boobs can't magically grow back after they've been removed, but the magic will heal up the surgical incisions the same as any other kind of laceration.
To take body modifications even further, there are other ways to circumvent the limitations of a werebeast's inherent healing abilities. Sigils can work, some potions, too. In cases like wanting to get a tattoo or piercing, silver would be used to negate the regenerative properties of the shifting magic. In the past, silver weapons were effective against werebeasts since silver-inflicted wounds wouldn't heal in a shift and victims had to heal at a human rate - basically a death sentence if a fatal wound was inflicted. Nowadays, special silver needles are used in tattooing and piercing to ward away the werebeast healing magic so that it doesn't force the tattoo ink out of the skin or reject piercing jewellery. Very dilute amounts of silver are mixed into the tattoo ink and used in piercing jewellery as a way to low-grade continually ward off the healing magic. Silver still burns on contact, so the process of being tattooed or getting a piercing hurts like a bitch, but at least the amount of silver in the ink or jewellery is dilute enough that, once everything is slowly healed at a horribly human rate, they don't notice all that much.
Adrien runs into that hurts like a bitch issue whenever he gets a new tattoo or piercing, so Marinette has to hold his hand the whole time.
So, as you can see, I have thought wayyyyyy too much about lore details in the Miraculous Monsters and Magic AU. Like, it literally goes so far that I have a term used for persons born into the wrong species - transmagika. A person growing up knowing they are a wolf and not a human could be considered transmagika, and becoming a werewolf would be their transition. Another example are witches who believe they are human - such as Nathalie, who wanted to be human. She stopped believing she was a witch and thus transitioned into a human. There are people in the MMMAU who could be both transgender and transmagika at the same time, and they are very interesting people.
To take it even further, because I have no limits on the degree of obsession I have with this AU, I've also thought about reality of being a transgender magical person. Species like witches are all born structurally 'female' (for lack of a better term); a 'male' born to a witch would simply be the species of the father. For intersex, you flip a coin or the parents play rock, paper, scissors. For example, Sarah's father is human, so if Sarah had a brother, he would be human, too.
A witch can magically transition into the body of a boy, but being a boy doesn't automatically mean they'll lose their magic. Maintaining witch magic is predicated entirely on continuing to believe you are a witch. So, even if a transgender witch stops being 'female', so long as they believe they are still a witch, they will simply end up being a very rare magical boy witch. The reverse of that unfortunately doesn't work; a 'male' born to a witch who magically transitions into the appropriate body does not inherit witch magic with their new body - which is fine if they are only transgender, since they wanted the body not the magic. If they were also transmagika, wanting the body of a female and the magic of a witch... that gets complicated. Replicating internally generated witch magic is hard. Most transgender transmagika witches practice external forms of magic, like divination or necromancy.
...man, I seriously need to make a website to start containing and organizing all this lore. Maybe someday I'll be able to write an original story out of it.
If anyone else has any random lore questions pertaining to the MMMAU, please feel free to ask. More than likely, you will be the recipient of far too much information you were not expecting to receive and only 10% of it will be the answer you were looking for.

a collection of funny things that should have been in Supernatural because i said so;
At least three episodes of all the hunters that have the whole system with Sam at the bunker but it’s like a police show comedy [i’ve only seen like three total episodes of Brooklyn 99 and four seasons of Psych but i think it’d be great]
Dean gets to follow his dream (like what Michael trapped him in) and take after Ellen and the roadhouse, whether it be by using that giant ass bunker as a bar or he just buys one, or even builds one [with magic or his hands]
Hunter doctors- like official, legal doctors. basically so that way if anything possibly supernatural is going on- you can see a doctor who knows about that type of stuff and can hopefully help it [like a witches curse, or how Bobby Dean and Sam had the carvings on their ribs] and they don’t make you pay if your a hunter for obvious hunters-don’t-get-payed-reasons
and obviously garth and some other people starts a whole monster healing underground medical aid/er (also probably at the bunker or smth)
a section of the bunker turns into this child-teen room where anybody under like 20 goes and can stay permanently. so like if a parent was killed on a hunt, they show up and are taken care of, they can learn more stuff, practice, and maybe have a shot at a semi-normal, at least no hunting, life [Jody and Donna help out there a lot]
there’s also adult rooms, obviously, same gig
game night at the Dean-Cave, lots of tournaments and anger
movie nights [for any hunter that wants to come] with a huge projector screen that they bring out to the main area with the stairs and whatnot, they’ll move tables, build a whole ass fort and watch shit
jack defeats god but instead of him disappearing it’s a complex jack-sorta-splits-in-two thing where his current conscious still runs things as ‘god’ but the ‘other half’ is essentially him but physically and mentally a four year old (like completely- not what Jack had before as a mix of 4 years old and 20 years old, just pure 4 year old) and it’s pure chaos
dean tries to redo everything with Jack (because he was a dick majority of the time) and obviously Cas and Sam were alrwady Dad Material TM
Dean, Sam, Castiel, Jody, Donna, Eileen, Charlie [both worlds because she didn’t die in my mind] Kevin [also not dead] and some others will hold classes for different things
Dean: Cooking (and lots of fighting) Occasionally does cool ‘home-made’ things, like his EMF that was made out of a Walkman, stuff like that. Teaches Latin and the different warding stuff
Sam: Healthy balance in life- both mentally and food wise. Also teaches lore and how to defend yourself, but mainly tries to get people to know how to lead a normal life, to enjoy things. Also teachers Latin [and backwards exorcisms if you need the demon]
Castiel: Lots of fighting techniques, but he also does a lot of history [not hunter-history, just like. normal history, but parts that have never been recorded since he’s seen a looooot] Teaches about free will and choosing your own path- not one that you were raised into or something of the sort [like hunting] he’s one of those teachers who get way off topic and he starts talking about Dean and everything [the ‘students’ place bets on when he’ll confess]
Jody & Donna + The Kids: [Jody & Donna] Teach how to stay out of trouble, fighting methods, but mainly how to lead a good, death-less life and be happy. they also teach you about police-loopholes and such so if they do stick with hunting they don’t get thrown in jail and such. Teaches healing and first aid. [The Kids] teach, again, fighting techniques, tracking stuff, running away from stuff, lots of medical stuff, Patience and Kaia teach others how to control their ability’s [with Gabriel]
Eileen: Teaches ASL and teaches how to use your other senses if you couldn’t use one [or technically how to sorta focus and zone in on the other senses] Also lots of lore and fighting techniques.
Charlie: Teacher how to hack into ‘un-hackable’ things, create fake credit or debit cards, fake IDs, etc. She holds role play and games like DnD all the time
Kevin: Teaches confidence and such, how to not let people take advantage of you [cough cough Dean was not so nice to him whilst translating] How to stand up for yourself and not be a doormat. Also teaches school stuff if anybody was interested
Rowena: Witchcraft, obviously. She does a lot of the warding stuff than the others because she knows a lot more about everything. Occasionally teaches how to seduce your way into information (or magic
Gabriel: How to trick people and such into getting them to do what you want them to. Probably some tips on going underground/undercover. If a kid has powers he helps them entirely

To halt or slow down bodily functions in order to gain more time to find a cure to an illness or poison?

The Weight of the World
Haruno is stubborn, he’ll give her that. Even with his sensing, she’s incredible hard to avoid. She brings up valid points, he knows, but he simply has no time to deal with her. She has terrified just about every shinobi he interacts with with any sort of frequency into helping her so Tobirama has started using the Hiraishin more than he ever expected to. The drain on his chakra is such that his brother has begun to notice and that’s another entire battle to fight.
He curses when Haruno’s distinctive chakra whirls into the same hallway he’s currently in. She’s not a sensor, he’s checked, but her ability to track him down is nothing to scoff at, either. She a powerhouse of a kunoichi and Tobirama knows that, when she’s not terrorizing him, she’s generally at the hospital. She’s pretty much taken it over, as far as he can tell.
He reaches instinctively for a Hiraishin marker, swearing again when the wards (which he had set up, damnit) snap his chakra back like a rubber band. Haruno’s chakra stops for a moment next to an Inuzuka’s. Tobirama risks a glance at the pink-haired girl. She crouched down, absolutely spoiling the Inuzuka’s dog. They’re talking too quietly for Tobirama to hear, not surprising at this distance, and he breathes a sigh of relief. Too soon, apparently, because he hasn’t even turned to go yet when Haruno’s attention snaps to him. He meets her green eyes, a mistake for sure, and whirls to stalk off.
"Ah, Senju-sama!" She calls after him and Tobirama isn’t sure if he’s imagining that note of amusement or not. He hesitates, halfway up the stairs, when he realizes going to his office will simply back him into a corner. He can’t go back to the entrance to escape via Hiraishin, Haruno is-
Oh. That’s... an idea.
He sees a flicker of pink behind him and takes that as a sign to get moving again. He’s adjusted his course but it shouldn’t be enough for the girl to pick up on. He keeps his pace slow enough for Haruno to keep up easily enough, heading for a familiar chakra signature. He catches sight of fluffy black hair, held up by some elder. From the Shimura clan, he thinks. They’re a political monster. They need to be dealt with carefully, to say the least. It’s unsurprising that they always go for Madara out of all the founders, but that’s a mistake. For all his flailing and yelling he’s not a horrible leader...
...which is precisely why he doesn’t feel bad about throwing Haruno at him and snagging the Shimura.
"Ah, Madara-sama," Haruno says, surprised, in time with Shimura-san’s, "Senju-sama."
"You want to ask about you clan’s compound, correct, Shimura-san?" He asks politely, picking the most likely reason the elder is bothering Madara.
"Senju-sama!" Haruno calls when she’s thoroughly trapped Madara into helping her, Tobirama and the Shimura already partly down the hall. He turns slight to the girl, much to the Shimura’s consternation. "Thank you." She says honestly with a bright smile. Madara looks thoroughly confused at everything that’s happened next to her. Tobirama nods and turns his attention back to the man. This is a problem he can deal with.
He can’t help but hope Haruno succeeds in convincing Madara. He would have helped her, if he could, but what she wants is outside his sphere of influence.
"Now, about the location of my clan’s compound-"

Even the Strongest: Whumptober Day 13 (Jujutsu Kaisen)
Gojo whump for today’s @whumptober prompt! And tired Nanami having to come to his rescue.
Prompt: Can’t Make an Omelet (fracture, ‘are you here to break me out?’)
Fandom: Jujutsu Kaisen
Character: Gojo
~~~~~~~
Read on Ao3
Read on FF.net
Masterpost
~~~~~~~
Gojo Satoru was a pain in his ass. Well, to be fair, Nanami wasn't alone in thinking that. Gojo Satoru was a pain in everyone's ass, which, coincidentally, was what made him a useful asset because that sentiment also extended to Curses and enemy sorcerers.
It was also what made it genuinely worrying when Gojo seemed to drop off the face of the earth.
It wasn't like Gojo was exactly good at telling anyone what he was doing, but when he had specifically been sent to look into an anti-Curse using group of sorcerers that had cropped up then one had to wonder. Nanami remembered what happened when he had fought Toji Fushiguro back when they were students—back before everything had gone to hell. What non-Curse users lacked in special ability, they made up for in arcane knowledge that was often extremely dangerous to both Curses and Curse Users alike. Not to mention their tendency to be able to collect the rarest weapons and talismans.
So, yes, as much as it irked Nanami to have to run off and fetch Gojo from his mission, he could understand the school's urgency when they had called him in.
He thought it had been a completely pointless venture by the time he got there and found the anti-Curse user's hub pretty destroyed. Looked like Gojo's work.
Nanami sighed and pulled out his phone, trying to call the other sorcerer again. Just like last time, there was the message that the number had been disconnected.
Nanami pressed his lips together and looked around some more.
There were actually traces of Cursed energy, probably remains from whatever fight must have ensued, so it seemed like Gojo had at least been there.
The question was, where was he now?
As Nanami searched the abandoned building, he began to pick up more traces of Curse energy. Weak, but there all the same. Nanami ventured further until he got to the part of the building that had taken the heaviest destruction.
The odd thing was that here there was no large traces of Cursed energy like there usually was after Gojo got done with a mission. In fact…
Nanami bent down to retrieve a grenade pin. There was a small warding tag taped onto the ring. Odd, he thought. Were these anti-Curse weapons?
The traces of energy were all but gone here, and Nanami was about to turn away when he came across something else in the rubble.
He bent to pick that up as well, dusting it off.
A black blindfold.
Nanami sighed, taking another look around. Where the hell could that idiot have gotten to? He found it hard to believe Gojo Satoru was actually dead. Even special grade Curses couldn't take him out.
He scuffed some gravel with his shoe and some of it trickled down a crack that was covered with a fallen support beam. Nanami frowned. Was there another level below this?
He pulled out his blade, picking a spot, and made short work of the rubble. He watched it crumble into the space below and then jumped down after it to look around.
He didn't get far before he heard a weak cough in the settling dust.
"Hey," the voice said. "You here to break me out?"
Nanami turned and saw a figure lying a little bit away, half buried under more rubble. Nanami quickly pulled out his phone and turned on the flashlight, holding it over the figure.
Gojo cringed away from the light, turning his head away. He looked…rough. An odd look on the untouchable Gojo Satoru. Face bruised, legs worryingly trapped beneath a pile of rubble. His upper body was bound by several straps with anti-Curse talismans carved into them. The kind that deactivated curse energy. Obviously the reason Gojo was currently trapped under concrete instead of being able to repel it with his Infinity.
"What the hell happened?" Nanami asked.
Gojo winced as he looked up at him, white hair matted with blood from an injury to his forehead. It seemed to make his unnervingly bright eyes even brighter. "Maybe I got a little cocky. They didn't like that much, so they neutralized my powers and tried to bury me alive—can you believe it? What assholes."
Nanami sighed, finding a spot to set his phone so they could have light. "Are you injured?"
Gojo grinned. "Aww, Nanami, sweet of you to care." He huffed and shifted with a wince. "Leg hurts pretty bad, honestly. Can you…maybe get me out of here?"
The strain in his voice told Nanami exactly how bad it was. Gojo wasn't used to hurting. He didn't so much have a high tolerance for pain as he just wasn't used to what it felt like.
"Hold on, I need to figure out the best way to do this without crushing you completely."
Gojo grunted and Nanami inspected the fallen rubble. There was one particular piece of concrete that was crushing Gojo's left leg, but that seemed to be the only one actually making contact. The rest seemed to have been stopped by a beam that had wedged itself sideways.
"How's it look?" Gojo asked.
Nanami didn't reply, intently studying the area, looking for the best place to strike and not have everything crush Gojo further. Honestly it would have been a lot easier to have another pair of hands, but there had been no one else available. It had been a rough month.
"Just stay still," Nanami said.
Gojo sighed and thunked his head back on the ground. "Not going anywhere."
Nanami pressed his lips into a tight line as he pulled out his blade. He targeted the spot and swung.
Debris crumbled harmlessly around, freeing Gojo's leg.
"Hey, thank—"
Before Gojo could finish, Nanami hurried to grab his shoulders and yank him away as the rest of the rubble came crumbling down. Gojo gave a surprised shout of pain, which turned into a cough as more dust flew through the air. Nanami waved it away as it settled, then stowed his blade and crouched next to Gojo.
"Get these off me," the injured man gasped, straining his arms against the straps binding him. Nanami saw for the first time that they had secured a sort of harness around his torso, binding arms and wrists alike tightly together behind his back in a way that would make it impossible to move.
"These can keep you from using your power?" Nanami asked curiously.
Gojo huffed. "Don't get any ideas. They're not fun, I promise."
Nanami sighed and started to unbuckle the straps, loosening Gojo's limbs. When he pulled them free, Gojo heaved a deep breath of relief, before he slammed his eyes shut and pushed a hand against his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Are you all right?" Nanami asked him cautiously.
"Mm," Gojo muttered. "My Six Eyes is coming back. It's kind of a trip when you've had it off for a while."
Nanami turned to his leg, and didn't like what he saw. It was definitely twisted at an odd angle, and there was some blood as well. Undoubtedly a compound fracture then. Nanami sighed wearily and stood. "We need to splint this."
Gojo seemed to realize his situation and finally looked down at his own leg, paling further, looking like he might actually be sick this time.
Nanami found some wood among the debris and started to unwrap his blade so that he could use the material for the splint.
"H-hey, looks like you might have to carry me out of here," Gojo muttered.
Nanami knelt and suddenly grabbed hold of his foot, squeezing through his shoe.
Gojo cried out. "God, Nanami! What the hell?"
"Good. You still have feeling in your foot, that means no nerve damage."
Gojo took a shuddering breath and forced himself up onto his elbows. "Yeah, well, it didn't hurt nearly so much until you started messing with it."
"Well, it's just going to get worse," Nanami told him blandly as he set the split materials aside and took a careful hold on Gojo's leg before ripping his pants up to the knee to better see what he was doing.
"Geez, buy me dinner first, Nanami," Gojo quipped woozily as he looked down at his leg. "Hey…that's not right is it?"
"No, it's not," Nanami informed him before grabbing the straps he had taken from Gojo earlier, handing them to him. "You might want to bite down on this."
Gojo stared at him. "You're not actually…"
"There's no point in splinting it crooked. I would suggest not wasting any more time arguing."
Gojo silently took the straps and folded them over, putting them between his teeth, laying back flat.
Nanami didn't make him wait. He prodded the injury briefly as Gojo made muffled protests, then efficiently moved onto resetting the leg.
The almost inhuman shriek from Gojo pierced his ears and he found he couldn't touch the other sorcerer again. Gojo must have activated Infinity in self-defense.
Nanami did actually feel bad for the man as he lay there panting, dust from the room sticking to the sweat on his forehead. He was staring straight up, fists clenched, fingernails digging into the ground, the straps still clenched in his teeth.
"Gojo," Nanami said after a moment. "I can't splint this if you won't let me touch you."
Gojo's eyes met his, wide and swimming with pain. Nanami had never seen him like this before and it did something to him. There was something unnerving about seeing this extremely powerful, cocky, man laid so low.
"The worst is over now," Nanami added, trying to do what he could to calm Gojo.
It was a long moment before Gojo seemed to relax, or rather run out of the little energy he had left. He slumped back onto the floor again, eyes sliding shut and the Infinity fell away, allowing Nanami to touch him again.
He quickly applied the splint as Gojo let out soft gasps and moans of pain, then sat back.
"Alright, let's find the way out of here. There's a staircase that doesn't look like it's blocked. Think you can stand?"
Gojo stared up at him balefully. Nanami sighed and reached down, first helping Gojo sit up and then putting one of his arms over his shoulders and getting a firm grip around his waist.
"Just keep your leg straight, I'm going to lift you in three. One…two…"
Nanami heaved Gojo upright and the man let out another cry, staggering on his one good leg as he leaned heavily on Nanami. Nanami had to adjust for the added weight, but steadied Gojo enough for him to stay upright without putting any weight on his injured leg.
Gojo clung to him tightly, panting, sweat actually pouring down his face.
"God, it hurts. Why the hell does it hurt so bad?" Gojo gasped, fingers tight in Nanami's coat, knuckles white. "I can't…it's not healing."
"Don't overexert yourself," Nanami told him. "Shoko will be able to do better than you will."
"You kidding? Her bedside manner's worse than yours," Gojo murmured.
Nanami grunted, getting an even firmer grip on the other man. "Ready?"
Gojo nodded tightly.
Nanami started them on the slow crawl to the stairs. Every hobbling step pulled a sound of pain from Gojo as he leaned more and more heavily against Nanami. But eventually they got there, even though Nanami had to practically carry Gojo up the stairs—and honestly at that point he thought it might have been easier to just throw the other man over his shoulder.
But they got to the top and out of the building. Gojo whimpered in relief as the car came into view.
"Just a little further," Nanami felt the need to reassure as he was supporting at least 99% of Gojo's body weight right now. The man was a lot more solid than he looked.
"Hey," Gojo murmured quietly, sounding exhausted and pretty out of it by this point. "Thanks for coming for me…Nanami." He took a deep breath. "For a while…didn't think I…was gonna…ya know. Ran out of…options."
The honest admission briefly sent Nanami for a loop. He had to double check that the man he was practically carrying was Gojo Satoru. It was so out of the ordinary that he began to feel his chest tighten with an unknown emotion toward Gojo. One he didn't normally reserve for the cocky sorcerer.
Sentiment was too much. But Gojo was his comrade, at most a brother in arms. Did Nanami respect him? No. His ideals were too far from what Nanami's were, and while he could admit that his teaching methods were effective, they left a bitter taste in Nanami's mouth who didn't condone putting students in danger the way Gojo did. The only thing that quelled his vitriol on that matter was the fact that he knew well enough that for all the danger he might throw his students into, Gojo would throw himself at something ten times more dangerous. Alone. Nanami had come to realize it might be more of a disconnect that led Gojo to make the decisions he did, than any inner malice. It would be difficult for someone who was essentially untouchable to comprehend how dangerous certain situations could be—case in point. So no, Nanami didn't necessarily respect Gojo as a man, but he did respect his powers—grudgingly—and how he used them. It would be stupid not to.
But now this admission of honest human weakness…maybe it did cause Nanami to have to admit just a little respect for the man. At the very least, he couldn't bring himself to be annoyed with Gojo at the moment. Though that might also have something to do with the fact that the white-haired man was pretty much passing out on his feet and didn't have the energy to be annoying.
"Did you really think we would leave you there?" Nanami asked him gruffly as they finally got to the car. He opened the passenger door and bent to slide the seat back before helping Gojo sit. "Don't be an idiot."
Gojo gritted his teeth as Nanami lowered him down and laid back gratefully in the seat, closing his eyes as Nanami adjusted his leg, lifting it carefully into the footwell. "No, I knew you'd come," he said, then one eye opened and there was a smirk turning up one corner of his mouth. "Wait till Shoko hears that you were so eager to get to me you started ripping off my clothes—"
Nanami slammed the door on him, feeling that small speck of respect instantly replaced with annoyance again. He grabbed his keys from his pocket as he reached for the driver's side door.
He supposed it was too much to ask that some things could ever change.

NAME: elias hawke. ALIAS: night cursed thief, eli. AGE: 329. GENDER: male. OCCUPATION: varies depending on verse.
elias was born with a powerful, innate connection to magic. learning to use it came naturally, and he excelled as a sorcerer. he joined an academy, impressed every one of his teachers, and was popular with his classmates too. when he graduated that charisma carried well into adult-hood. to say he was overconfident would be an understatement. he was very prideful, elias knew he was powerful, and has the ability to back it up with proof.
during a venture to retrieve an old artifact, he met celina kordova. a half celestial known as the queen of night eternal. after some time the two grew close, and began to fall for one another. the purpose of his journey nearly forgotten, until the fear of commitment came rearing its head. after denying her, elias fled, took what he came for, and returned home. celina was heartbroken, and in her fury would hunt him down, and curse him. a curse he barely keeps at bay with runic tattoos across his body. an incredible feat, that only enraged her further, as he continues to elude her. though the curse does give her a solid connection, to visit him as she likes. usually to belittle him, and eat up his time.
despite everything, elias manages to keep his charming persona. he's charismatic and easy going, entirely to spite celina. to spite the curse, and deny her the pleasure of seeing him suffer. though, his persona is a bit rougher around the edges than when he was in his early 20s. when he's got cause to, eli can shift moods quite dramatically from his usual. from cheery and sarcastic, to cold and calculating.
ELI'S CURSE
the curse is...complex. the primary point of it is true immortality. elias cannot die, as if warded from death, hidden from it. he cannot drown, cannot starve, can return even when he is chopped to bits. it's never been any kind of blessing, the process of placing the curse to begin with an agonizing one. he has outlived his entire family and any friends he may of had. each loss becoming progressively easier, as he grows more numb to the side effects of his curse.
another aspect of this curse is beasthood. the intent meant to show what celine truly believed he was on the inside. a selfish, hideous beast who destroys without a second thought. this form is very painful to take, and was meant to be permanent. but elias managed to stave off that in some way with the arcane tattoos on his body. his arm however is forever twisted, with strange talons, and scales, colored a deep deep shade of black and purple. the warding isn't perfect though; and eli can sometimes change fully into a monster with the right conditions.
a) stress. put him under enough stress, and elias' magic grows frayed and wild. the curse able to slip through the cracks, and turn him for a short time. until he's calmed, or knocked completely unconscious.
b) he falls in love. the entirety of the curse is fueled by celina's heartbreak and the agony she feels in her loneliness. usually with this, the transformation is a bit more forced-- by celina's hand. she has a connection through the curse, and thus can at the very least feel him. so in this case it would be less the curse flowing in it's natural course-- and more being forced to.

Sexuality: Dialga does not define his sexuality. It is fluid and goes wherever it takes him regardless of genders or non genders
Personality: Dialga comes off rough but honestly is a talker. He has charm and he knows it. Use to expectations with how he looks he knows how he actually is. He has a lot to say and doesn't take any bullshit. He is blunt and honest, sometimes go on a talent. But he does have a heart of gold. While he won't sugar coat or coddle he will be a guiding hand if needed. And he will always encourage you when you need it. He has a very, grab life by the balls personality.
Physical description: He stands nearly at 7 feet tall. Long, thick, back slightly curled hair that reaches his mid back. He has dark crimson eyes with black sceleras. He does have a grayish tint to his skin. He has a tattoo on his chest that looks to be two long right triangles down his pecs stopping short of his stomach. He also has a dark red band around his left wrist that he says signifies his family. He wears a rosary around his neck and several bands around both wrists. There are several scars across his back and front from various life things as he puts it. There's an emerald ring on his left hand middle finger and on his pointer finger is a bloodstone. Usually wears a basic button down shirt, always opened halfway, dark slacks, and boots.
Companion requirements: Dialga is looking for a companion that is not a beginner. Somebody that is not off the bat new and at least knows how to ward and banish. Mainly because he doesn't want to have to be the one banishing all the time. Astral travel isn't a bit deal to him and he is willing to give you a push if needed. He doesn't want an overly large family, if you have hundreds of companions he isn't interested. Ideally he would be happy with a medium size family or somebody who has less than a hundred companions. He does want offerings when with a human companion. Anything he likes works but a full detailed list will be given to his chosen companion
Dialga is from a realm called Nephimys. It is a secluded realm he doesn't wish to return to anytime soon. Not for bad reasons but just because he feels he's done his time there. He grew up different than he is now. Having been turned into the vampire he is today. He doesn't wish to change being a vampire or how he was raised but he does say maybe he's been conditioned for that. Living at roughly 6,000 years old he's seen a lot and knows that he's been through the ringer. Dialga is what is called a King Sanguine vampire. In Nephimys this is a vampire of status and special abilities over sanguine vampires. He wants to go in more detail if asked but doesn't like to use his abilities in others. He finds amusement in human church, wearing a rosary and crosses where he can.
Dialga has requested no vessel. He does not want one and doesn't want to be pushed to have one.
If you want to apply for Dialga you can apply for him here.

Name: Nora Lucas
Age: 28 (November 3rd, 1994)
Gender: Cisgender female (she/her)
Sexuality: Pansexual
Circle: Power
Occupation: Blackjack Dealer at The Carmilla/Freelance Magic Dealer
What is Known
A mage that almost sprang out of no where, Nora has spent the last eleven years training and building up her powers in the Midnight Underground. Her name is a common one tossed around if you want a magical solution to something.
There is no office to request her work, nor does she allow people to go to her home at any odd hour like a stray cats asking for food. If you want her service, find her at the blackjack table. It’s odd, she always seems to know when people sit at her table for magic work or normal gambling and will give people who wish to hire her a special poker chip. While holding it, they can have a telepathic conversation with each other in order to work out the details of the job. A bit excessive? Maybe, but at least this way she doesn’t have to waste money on an office space, or worse, handing out her phone number.
Regulars do not need to go through the effort of meeting her at the Carmilla. For them, she hands out a business card which they can write on to put in a request.
She has a frequent customer card. For every 10th spell, you get a free potion of your choice.
She has a familiar that acts as a service dog for her. His name is Pip and he is a Bernese Mountain Dog. He is a good boy.
She isn’t a troublemaker–no she rejects that title. After all, no one can prove that she was the one that placed that spell on the pen to never be able to write clearly on paper or the cup that turns any alcohol poured in it into water. Harmless prankster or a menace to society? The judge is out on that one.
While she is able to cast any type of spell that one might need of her, she is particularly gifted at mental wards. They are her most expensive service since the wards are near impenetrable, though they will eventually weaken if the wards aren’t reinforced every year. Some claim this is her scam to get more money out of people and she hasn’t confirmed nor denied this rumor.
What People Think They Know ⁙ common rumors ⁙
Pip seems like he’s more dog than familiar. Maybe he really is just a service dog. What would a powerful wizard need with a service dog?
You can get cheaper prices in her spell work if you sleep with her. 30% of the time this works 100% of the time.
She has no loyalties, not even to her own circle. She only cares about what will be best for her, no matter the consequences to everyone else.
Those glasses she wears are definitely one of those hipster glasses that aren’t prescription. It’s all to fit the “I’m smarter than you are” aesthetic.
What Will Be Left Unsaid
Her power comes from a curse on her family that gives everyone born in her family the ability to practice magic at the expense of their sanity. The Navarro Curse, as it is usually referred to among the Midnight Underground, has been around for centuries and any wizards from this bloodline can cast strong spells and create incredible acts of magic, but usually only for a year or two at best. Afterward, the wizard will lose all sense of sanity and as such their ability to practice magic. Almost all members of her family choose to ignore the gift which causes it to fade until eventually they are an average human.
With the help from her great-grandmother’s research, she discovered that she could protect her mind when she casts spells by offering other physical aspects of her body, such as the use of a limb or sense of smell. The effects of this offering eventually wear off and she gets full use of her body again, but it is never exactly the same as it was before. A piece of her is always lost with every spell she casts–she has just gotten good at making sure it is as small of piece as possible.
She was born Leticia Navarro but changed her name to Nora Lucas to avoid the stigma of her family curse.
She is the longest living Navarro wizard in recent history, possibly even ever. She doesn’t know how long she will live nor what will happen once her body has nothing left to offer. As far as she knows, she is living on borrowed time and she’d be damned if she’s not going to live it the way she wants to.
She comes from a large family who had always told her she was foolish to indulge in the family curse, that is until she gave her blind half-sister her sight back. For several years after, her family relied on her to give them every little thing they ever wanted and the effort left her with a permanent tremor in her left hand. When she finally put her foot down, they turned on her and was kicked out. That her bitterness towards them has soured her perception of most mortals.
