Started an Arrow Season three re-watch, haven't seen it since that first time years ago, ten minutes into the first episode I already wrote a big rant, had to stop mid episode it is just so wrong on so many levels.
I tried to go in with an open mind but the first five minutes already pissed me off so much...
Like Oliver telling Felicity she should've bought him a bed instead of a fern because he's been living in the Foundry the past five months... so, I imagined the bed he and Sara slept in while they were staying at the Foundry in Season two... I must have, right? And Oliver having lived there since Felicity butted into his family affairs even after he told her not to and ruined the relationship between Moira and her children and Oliver and Thea. And with that forced him out of his home and into the Foundry. Oliver's pretty much lived in the Foundry and slept in the bed he had there since 2.13 Heir to the Demon... Just saying...
Not even gonna start on the stupid, unrealistic Oliver is completely broke storyline....
Anyway, I might post the actual rant at some point, or not. We'll see. The bed thing just gets me so mad, there's no reason or point to it. He had a bed in the Foundry in Season two, he was not sleeping on the floor. Where did that bed go? A bed doesn't just go poof...

● Thea "you know you're gonna run my bar dry if you keep drinking everything from the top shelf"

● sparring together
● she surprised you with how good at hand to hand combat she is
● "damn Thea, now I know why they call you speedy, you dodged all of my punches"
● and another time she knocked you down and landed on top of you
● "batman would be so disappointed to see me in this position"
● "really because I thought you liked me being on top" she says with a smirk
● Thea felt so bad when she accidently sent an arrow into your shoulder during a mission
● "Oh my god Y/N I'm so sorry I thought you were one of the bad guys"
● "Thea it's okay, I died remember, an arrow isn't the worst pain I've ever experienced"
● her gently tracing your scars when you're lying in bed together
● Dick and Tim came to visit you one weekend when they found out a new drug on the streets of Gotham and Bludhaven were being sourced from Star City
● and to meet Thea because they never expected you to have a serious relationship
● part of them thought you were lying and Thea didn't actually exist
● Dick "so you must be Thea, Y/N has told us so much about you, I hope you're keeping him in line"
● Thea "oh trust me, Y/N loves when I order him around"
● Tim "didn't need to know that, so about this drug-"
● when the mission is over you take your brothers to the club before they go back home
● they have a great time but halfway through the night you've disappeared to hook up with Thea in her office
● Dick to Oliver "Hey have you seen Y/N, he left to get me another drink an hour ago"
● Oliver "yeah when Y/N and Thea both disappear you usually don't want to know what they are doing"
● Thea buying you a brand new knife when yours breaks
● this one also has 'red hood' engraved on it
● "babe, this might be the nicest thing anyone has ever given me"
● "I should find that endearing but I know by tonight you will have used it to stab someone with"
● "you're not wrong"

Percy + Vex prompt
"What have you done to my heart?"
i couldn't find a specific ask meme that this corresponded with, so here's just a lil thing!
It's the way he lets his glasses get so smudged he has to squint to see through them. It's the way he forgets to come down for dinner three nights in a row, but when Cassandra asks him what Oliver's stuffed rabbit's name was, he says "Mr. Flopperkins" without a moment's hesitation. It's the way she keeps finding the tiniest clock parts in his clothes and on their closet floor and in her shoes.
It's the way he gets Keyleth to laugh when she hasn't smiled in days. It's the way he directed the groundskeepers of Castle Whitestone to take care of the shrine to the Raven Queen, just as a part of their normal duties. It's the way he constructs roosts for the ravens that now flock to Whitestone, places for them to rest, to watch.
It's the way he disappears with Vesper down into his workshop, his favorite laboratory assistant. It's the way he is the only one who can rock her back to sleep when the whistling winds of the Alabaster Sierras startle her awake. It's the way his hands look when lifting her into the air, as if showing the Dawnfather himself his most remarkable creation.
It's the way his nose wrinkles when she kisses him, slow and lazy on a winter's morning, with the covers pulled up to their chins and no intention of getting out of bed. It's the way he hums, satisfied, when she whispers, "What have you done to my heart?" It's the way he whispers back, "Only taking what's mine, dear."

OLIVER QUEEN X FEM!READER
word count: 1,300
description: you get sick with a really bad cold, and Oliver puts aside his job as mayor to take care of you.
warnings, none— just pure fluff basically.
*NOT PROOFREAD* Let me know if I made any spelling errors, thank you <3
Tumblr media
Oliver brushed your cheeks with his knuckles softly, trying to wake you up as gently as he possibly could. The way you fainted at his office earlier this morning left him rather concerned.
“Y/N.” He called out to you in a low whisper, “Sweetie, please wake up. I’m worried.” He sighs profoundly, studying your features for a moment— noticing how droplets of sweat begun to near your forehead. Pulling his sleeve into his hand, wiping it off.
He sat there by your side, waiting for you to wake up. Nudging you lightly. Feeling like his heart was in his throat, growing worried.
Your eyes begun open, groaning softly. As Oliver puts your hand into his. Moving the bit of hair out your face with the other, tucking it behind your ear. “Well, hello you.” You smiled at him, realizing something was off about your voice. How it wasn’t almost even there—how it sounded like you were a zombie.
Oliver squinted his eyes, tilting his head out of curiosity. Putting the back of his hand to your forehead, noticing how you were burning up. “I think you have a fever.” Oliver says, voice concerned and filled with worry.
Your symptoms only continued to add up. You move your inner arm to your mouth, letting out a wheezing cough. When you turned your head to protest to your boyfriend that you were fine, he disappeared like a ghost. Usually something he’d do to a criminal once he was done with them as the Green Arrow.
Oliver then walks back in, with a glass cup filled with water—and medicine in the other hand. Going to your side of the bed, handing you the medicine to take first. Taking it gently from his hand, downing it— scrunching up your nose in disgust at the flavor. Prying the water from his hand, jugging half of it down. Causing Ollie to chuckle softly.
“I have to call in work and tell them I’ll be out.” Oliver tells her.
“No, no, no.” You say, “You don’t have to do that—“
“Shhh I’m on the phone.” Oliver tells you, putting a finger over his mouth— in a way for you to be quiet. If you could, you’d snatch the phone right from him, but you didn’t have the energy to do that. As he then goes out the room to not be interrupted any further.
You’ve been expecting a call from work, how you didn’t get there—considering you went to visit your boyfriend at his office before going on the way there, but you passed out before you could.
Right on cue, your phone begun to ring— the noise echoed in your ears for a moment. Debating whether you wanted to answer the call or not. Oliver then walks into the room, his cellular device no longer pressed to his ear. “Your not gonna answer that?” He questions, raising a brow.
“As much as I hate where I work, and know that I need to answer that phone call, I reality don’t have much energy to go and grab it.” You send him a smile, “And I also…just don’t wanna answer it either.”
Despite mentioning how you did not want to answer the phone, Oliver goes to the nightstand- handing your cellular device to you. As you swipe your finger over to the side where the green circle is in order to answer the phone. Putting it to your ear. “Hello?” You call out from your side of the phone.
“Hi, Y/N, we’ve been expecting you at work. Did anything come up?” Your boss asked you through the phone, sighing.
You let out a rough cough before answering his question. “I’m sick, so I don’t think I’ll be able to come in for work today.” You explain to him, voice croak. “I know about labor laws, before you ask me what my symptoms are. Could cite them to do if you’d like.”
“No, no, my apologies.” The man says through his end of the phone. “Just come in once you feel better.”
Oliver sat on his edge of the bed, moving more close to you as you spoke on the phone to see how the call was going. As he rubbed small circle over the free hand that once sat on your lap with his thumb. “Thanks, see you soon. Bye.” You say, taking away the phone from your ear- hanging up.
“Your boss doesn’t sound half bad.” Oliver says, pouting his lips for a moment.
“Well, he’s still a pain in my ass.” You shrug your shoulders, trying to inhale- realizing your nose was clogged. Making you groan out of frustration. “Do we have tissues by any chance?” You question, using the little energy you have in making an effort to get out of bed.
Oliver followed you around the room, hands never far from your body- getting prepared to spring into action if you were to collapse again. “I’ll go to the store, Y/N” Oliver says, putting his hands onto your shoulders from behind, getting you back to bed. “Just…rest, please.”
You huff, pressing your lips together- allowing them to form a thin line. Oliver then grabs the covers, putting them over you, planting a soft, gentle kiss over your forehead. Then going to your lips intertwining his with yours. Smiling in the kiss, parting from you. “I’ll be back, alright?” He says, getting up from the floor- no longer bending down to you. As you nod your head, watching from where you rested on the bed as he left.
*****
While he had gone to the store to get a few things, you had decided to take a nap- considering you felt like any energy you once had was completely drained from your body- which felt sore all over.
You had awoken to the sound of the door opening, hearing it slam shut and lock- knowing that Oliver, your boyfriend, was back from the store. Coming to your shared room. Taking out the stuff he had bought for you. Going to your side of the bed, taking out everything for you. Moving your lamp onto the ground, putting everything he bought on top of the nightstand.
“So, here we have tylenol, two tissue boxes, nasal spray, day quill and night quill. And a spray for sore throat. It’s cherry flavored.” Oliver says, pointing to each item as he explained what there was so that you wouldn’t have to check what there was yourself.
“Thank you, my love.” You send him a warm, nice smile- appreciating every single thing he had done for you. As he returns you a smile back. Grabbing the spray for sore throat, unwrapping the plastic around the tap. Taking off the tap, pressing down onto your cheek gently as a silent plea in order for you to open your mouth. Sticking out your tongue, pressing down the spray part twice to the back of your throat, in order to numb the pain of it. Wondering how he knew it was sore to begin with, it was like he read your mind perfectly.
You were already sat up in bed, back rested on the pillows that were pressed up to the headboard. “So, how do you exactly plan on doing work? You are the mayor after all.” You began, “You run the city, Ollie.”
He then sits down near you, the bed sinking a bit due to his weight. “Well, Quentin is there- and he’s the runner up whenever I’m out for something or when I’m just no longer the mayor.” He explains to you, letting out a sigh slip from between his parted lips. His hand on your covered lap. Finding your hand once more. “Just get some rest, alright?”
“Okay, love you.”
“I love you more, Y/N.”

Title: Titanic Pairing: Laurel Lance x Reader Prompt: 12. "I think I'm in love with you and I'm terrified." R WC: 1145
Subtly was not something that any member of the Lance family did well. Every single one of them gave away more than they intended to, so when something started bothering Laurel, you knew immediately. She had been your best friend for years, and if her type had been anybody than spoiled rich boy, you would have stood a chance. It was hard having to watch her make the same mistake with a different version of the same guy again and again. Truthfully, you weren't sure how she kept falling into their circle after Oliver had disappeared. There hadn't just been Tommy, who in your opinion wasn't too bad of a guy, but the others had been carbon copies of Oliver Queen.
It was horrible, but your heart sank when he came back. Laurel had been mad at him at first, but then she fell right back into his arms. You watched her long for a man who didn't want her anymore but didn't want anybody else to have her either. It was hard to watch, but that was nothing compared to how it felt whenever she started pulling away from you. Laurel had never withdrawn from you before in the entirety of your 26 year friendship. In your mind, it had always been the two of you against the world. You knew that she was going through a lot with her job and Sara's return and death. There was even some shit with Captain Lance, who had been breathing down your neck at work and had been moving you back and forth between homicide and a vigilante task force every other week.
Everybody had their limits, and you were at your wit's end with the distance between you and Laurel. You normally would have texted Laurel before you showed up at her doorstep, but you were honestly terrified that she'd leave if she knew you were coming. There was a shuffling behind the door the instant that you knocked, but it didn't sound like Laurel. These footsteps were lighter and quicker than what Laurel's usually were at home. In the courtroom, Laurel was the very definition of gracefulness, but at home, it was a bit different. The woman didn't mean to, but she had a tendency to stomp around a little bit. You used to tease her about it, claiming that she stomped around the house just like her dad did.
"Laurel, come on, we need to talk. Please." You hadn't meant to sound so desperate, but it seemed to do the trick to get the door to open. Instead of Laurel, you were met with a very attractive dark haired woman who you swore that you'd seen somewhere before. "Um, is Laurel here?"
"She is in her bedroom. What is your business with her?" This woman was intimidating, more so than anybody you had ever encountered before. That was saying something, considering that you faced down murderers every single day at work.
"I want to talk to her. I want to know why she's avoiding me," you admitted. There was no reason for you to tell this woman so much, but you wanted to. She seemed trustworthy to you, despite being a complete stranger. You felt safer around her, almost like that was her purpose. "If you tell her who I am, she should tell you to let me in."
"I know who you are Y/n," the woman said. You nodded as you stood there awkwardly. "It is not my place to get in the way of such things, please come inside."
"Thank you," you said as you ran past her towards Laurel's bedroom. The door was cracked, and you sort of stumbled into the room and ended up falling onto the floor a few feet away from Laurel's bed. Laurel stared at you from her bed with a surprised and somewhat concerned look on her face. It was one that you hadn't seen in a long time, not since she used to come to your soccer games and sit with you afterwards when you were patching yourself up. Being one of the team's most aggressive players tended to come with more than a few bumps and bruises. "We need to talk."
"What's going on?" Laurel looked like she was ready to fight someone, which was new. Usually, Laurel hated confrontation in her regular life. However, as you looked at her, you realized that she definitely had been working out. There was a good chance she'd be able to take even you down if she wanted to.
You pushed yourself up off of the floor and sat down on the edge of her bed, careful not to look at any of the files on her bed. You didn't want to accidentally end up fucking up her trials, not when she was gunning for the position of District Attorney. Laurel having that spot was possibly more important for you than it was for her. You always wanted Laurel to have the very best that she could because that was what you believed she deserved. Laurel didn't always agree with you, but one day you knew that you'd break through to her.
"Somebody's been avoiding me. If there's something going on, I want you to talk to me," you told her as you nervously picked at the bottom of your shirt. It was the one you had been wearing all day at work. Usually you wouldn't bring something like that into Laurel's space, but you had rushed here immediately after you got off of work.
"Y/n, I'm sorry," Laurel apologized. You didn't want an apology, you wanted an explanation. Laurel knew that, it was how you had always been. You'd rather know why somebody did something than know that they were sorry for it. "There's a lot going on right now and I don't want to drag you into it. Please, just know that it's not your fault. These things never really are."
"What things?" you asked.
"It's complicated. I don't know. I think I'm in love with you and I'm terrified. Things aren't simple anymore, not for me, and I couldn't forgive myself if you got dragged into it," Laurel told you. You looked at her sadly, well aware that you had been let down gently once again. Laurel managed to do it in ways that you weren't sure that even she was aware of. There was a moment where you started to move away slowly with the hope that she'd stop you, but Laurel didn't. You made it all the way back to your apartment before you heard anything from Laurel, and all you'd gotten was a text apologizing to you. There was no promise for her to stop that, and you knew that eventually the two of you would drift further and further apart until your entire relationship was split in half.

Oliver Queen ego is bruised after spending a late night fighting with Felicity to no end it all went down hill she was so pissed at him her furry has no end running away from him.
A parade of phone calls, miles worth of text and emails to fill an entire room with not even a single response from her end and he faces up chasing after her.
He is so tired of the constant bickering they often do in this massive apartment complex he bought and converted in to his new extra plus premium mansion.
He steams in to the bathroom slamming the door in a fury as he places his back on the door, his eyes close tightly the tears are now streaming down his face.
He covers his face everything in his life is a total complete mess of undying crap that is never ending nightmare of terror that is well consuming it.
It slams a fist into the air angrily then he
is proceeding to the knob from the shower twisting it and the water rains down onto the bath tub.
Slowly he strips off his clothes in a mindless daze stepping into the shower backing up to the end wall and soaping his body up in lots of lather.
The soap fuzzing up lathering the place up in soap washing off it from his body the heat alone steams up the room and shoots into the air.
The hot air fills the bathroom washing us in to a hot and heavy steamy state covering Oliver up in joy, pain and pleasure of the night.
The moonlight shines onto a strange distant figure standing on the edge of a roof top from the building across from him he is nicely decorated in a leather.
A costume scheme worthy of Oliver Queen himself The Green Arrow but his eyes grow narrow and they dart down with unholy like intentions.
The man slips a bow from his arrow basin in to his hands slithering it into his quiver he aims it at the window, dangling it he pulls and it release straight into his chest.
Arrow hits him head on as the man vanishes in a bright light of gold the arrow disappears leaving a strong mark in form of a line over his heart.
Oliver cries in pain forcing his heat to race up in an excruciating pounding palpitations and he holds his chest sliding down the wall onto the floor.
His eyes flutter close falling into a deeper in to slumber like unconscious a figure opens the bathroom door picking him up and took him to a better place.
He woke up in heat in a strange room lights are off and he strapped to a bed his eyes stir open to see a strange figure to speed through the room.
The man stops in front of his bed snapping his fingers in the air as the lights blur on so bright it blinds him glowing down him and he removes his mask.
“Hi Oliver! Missed me” Barry says extremely seductively.
“What the fuck Barry?” Oliver yells the rope is so tight causing him to struggle.
“You are hard Oliver, did you like the arrow I sent you.” Barry smirks with a hard smile.
“That was you! Are you an Alternate timeline Barry.” Barry clicks his finger.
Before another word utters past his mouth Barry is speeding to the other edge of the bed and he crawls onto Oliver kissing him as the lightening shoots into his body and spreading through his nerves and Oliver submits.
The end

Brunch Together: Oliver Queen & Thea Merlyn
Thea Merlyn barely resisted rolling her eyes in irritation at the expectant look on her father’s face. He had a habit of declaring things, making pronouncements, and expecting Thea & Tommy to hop into line like toy soldiers. Did it not coccur to him that both of them had wills and lives of their own to live? They weren’t dolls to be placed wherever he wanted them.
Biting back on the ‘no,’ that wanted out of her vocal cords, Thea asked instead, “But, why do I have to go?”
“You were invited.”
Thea cocked her head to the left, raising an elegantly shaped eyebrow, “You and I both know that just because the cardstock said, ‘the Merlyn family,’ only you two are the intended recipients.” A brunch to reintroduce the prodigal son to Queen Consolidates’ wider business network (clearly the first step in a larger plan to bring the man back into the family business.) As Tommy was the brunch honoree’s best friend and Malcolm was valued business associate, they fit the attending bill to a ‘T.’
Thea, on the other hand, was just a seventeen-year-old recent high school graduate; she had no connection to Merlyn Global and Thea’d been only twelve when Oliver disappeared. While she embarrassingly remembered her brother’s brother-from-another-mother quite well, she was absolutely positive that she’d just been background noise to their epic bromance. There, but invisible. When she factored in the probability that his mother’s secretary crafted the invite list, Thea was willing to assume that she wasn’t an intended invitee.
“People will be expecting us to show support for the Queens as a family. You are coming, Thea.”
Thea had to fight on her instinctive stubbornness, if only to avoid getting into another screaming match with Malcolm now. It was far too early in the morning to use her voice like that.
Relenting without uttering another word, Thea returned to her room and opened her closet doors. What the heck did one wear to a ‘welcome back to the world’ brunch? Was it a sort of formal thing? Or more casual like the word ‘brunch’ implied?
Picking up her iPhone from the end of her bed, Thea sent a quick tet to her girl squad with a quick Snap of her closet. After a flurry of message, a choice was made and Thea donned a full-length coat, complementing high-waist black shorts with a pair of shimmering nude-colored tights and a sleek crop top with ankle boots with slight wedge heels.
“Thea,” Tommy’s voice called out from the direction of the foyer, “let’s go.”
“It’s a brunch, Tommy,” Thea reminded him as she climbed down the stairs, “not a medical procedure. We can be a few minutes late; it’s fashionable.”
As it turned out, they’d arrive to the Queen mansion only ten minutes after the printed time and were neither the first nor the last to arrive. Tommy had immediately ventured over to embrace his childhood friend and catch up about the week that had passed since the only child returned home. Malcolm had been pulled into whispered discussions about God only knew what. Thea didn’t really care to know what her father had gotten himself into. She’d learned long ago that it was in her best interest to be ignorant of his schemes.
She milled about among the other brunch guests until the hostess, Moira, asked everyone to take a seat. Finding a seat between Malcolm and Tommy at the table, Thea let the mumble and murmur of the thirty or so people’s conversations at large wash over her, taking it all in, but staying quiet herself. She passed various dishes in various directions as the mountain of breakfast foods were distributed and exchanged simple pleasantries in the process. Just when she was beginning to think that she could get through this awkward brunch by simply embracing her fly-on-the-wall state, someone addressed her.
“So, Thea, I read your opinion piece in the newspaper, I was,” Thea’s attention snapped to Moira, green eyes widening slightly in surprise, “surprised to read such a refreshing opinion from someone of your generation.”
It had been a nerve wrecking choice, deciding to let her opinion be known so publicly, but she’d figured someone had to say it aloud if there was any hope of changing attitudes away from the desire for love and lust. Someone had to encourage women to think with their heads instead of their pussies.
“I know taking a pass on romance, and focusing on other connections, seems strange to some, but I stand by it. The world would be better off, I think, if people put all the romantic notions aside and paid due attention to the other connections in our lives.”
A woman seated a couple seats down from Thea’s snorted derisively, “That sounds like the arguments made by someone not getting any.”
Thea steeled herself and straightened in her seat, “Just thinking with my brain and not my heart. Think of how many tragedies in the world could have been avoided if love wasn’t so highly valued. No scorned lovers driven to murder. No heartbroken suicide. No love triangles gone wrong.”
“You’ve got quite the head of your shoulders,” Walter Steele chimed in with a nod of agreement.
“Thank you.” A soft blush tinged her cheeks a pink color.
The conversation transitioned once again to another topic and Thea returned to simply listening as the conversation & brunch around her.

Best Birthday Present Ever (Thea Queen x M!Reader) Part 1
A/N: Hello lovely people of Tumblr, time for my first story here on Tumblr. So just for context: this is set in Season 5, so Oliver's the Mayor, but I'm gonna gloss over most of the chaotic villainy stuff here. I've mostly let this take place in Season 5 so that Thea's age is where I want it to be.  Also, Y/n knows that Thea used to be Speedy and Oliver is the Arrow. Thea's 21 in this and Y/n is turning 22 this year.
"No!!!!!!!" You woke up with a start, breathing heavily. Panic closing up your throat, after a few more moments of heavy breathing, you start to calm down. It was just a dream, you thought. And yet, it felt so real, your deepest fear came to life, Thea leaving you. Speaking of, her side of the bed is empty. Just as you were beginning to wonder where she disappeared to, your phone buzzed. Picking it up, you let out a sigh of relief you didn't know you've been holding. It's a text from Thea, thank God if the dream had turned out to be real...
Thea:
Hey, sorry I had to leave early, Ollie needed help down at city hall again. Happy birthday btw!!
You:
Awww I was hoping I'd get to spend the day with you. Thx btw.
Thea:
I know, me too sweetie
How 'bout I make it up to you tonight with a dinner date at my loft? You can get your birthday present there too!
You:
Sounds good to me!
Thea:
Can't believe you're 22 already, grampsssss
You:
==" Seriously? I'm just a year older than you
Thea:
1 year is foreverrrrrr~~~~ XD
You:
Pffffttttt. Come on like you literally can't tell when you look at us!!
Thea:
Except the wrinkles on your face, and the amount of complaining....
You:
Hey!!! Uncalled for!!! I do not have wrinkles
and I most definitely don't complain like a senior citizen!!!
Thea:
You didn't let me finish!!!! ... I was gonna say but you look gorgeous anyways despite all that.
You:
 ...
Thea:
What?
You:
If I'm actually old and grey will you still say that?
Thea:
Awww of course I will honey! To me you're always gonna look gorgeous no matter if you have gray hair or no hair or whatever! Besides, I didn't fall in love just with your looks you know? I also fell for the kind, caring, and amazing man that you are underneath all that, and that, that won't go away, ever, so neither will my love for you. Okay?
You:
Thea..... That's.... The nicest thing anyone has ever said to me, thank you babe. Thank you so much.
Thea:
Anytime sweetie. Where's this sudden bout of self doubt coming from?
You:
I uhhhhh, had a nightmare last night. You... Left me. Something about me not being good enough for you. So I just got scared that it'd actually happen for real too when you said that part about me being old.
Thea:
Sweetie, like I just said, I didn't just fall for your looks, I fell for who you are as a person, all your flaws and misgivings included. So your nightmare is just that, a nightmare, I'll never leave you, so don't doubt yourself okay?
You:
Okay. You know, sometimes I feel like I'm the luckiest man alive.
Thea:
I feel like I know the answer, but why?
You:
Cuz I have a girlfriend who, in addition to being the single most amazing woman alive, also loves me despite my flaws and she isn't afraid to constantly remind me of that.
Thea:
Awwwwwwwwwww, you cutieeeee. Anyways something came up and I got to run, see you this evening!!!! Luv u!!!! Xoxoxo
You:
Love you too honey, more than anything else in the world
Putting your phone away, you get up and head into your bathroom to shower and start your day. Finishing with your shower, you got out and put on your work clothes: black slacks, white long-sleeved shirt, and a tie. You were a manager after all, a coffee shop manager, but still a manager nonetheless. However, in addition to your manager attire, you also grab an apron. While managers aren't required to do much with regards to the day-to-day operations besides overseeing the staff and handling the occasional customer request, you still liked to help out every once in a while. Sometimes because you're bored, sometimes because it feels bad seeing the few employees at the shop getting swarmed during the morning or evening rush hours, and sometimes because you have nothing else better to do. This of course doesn't go unnoticed by the staff there, they appreciate the gesture and some of them even go out of their way to demonstrate it: from helping you with the customer requests, to staying past hours to help you take inventory and close up shop.
Walking over to your fridge, you open it to find some breakfast, only to find a pre-cooked meal of eggs and toast refrigerated inside it. On it was a small note that read, Happy Birthday honey! Enjoy your breakfast. You smiled. Even after all this time, Thea somehow manages to surprise you in ways that just make you love her even more. A girl who's beautiful, fights crime, and can cook? You really are lucky to have such an amazing girlfriend, you think.
Anyhow, you sat down at your table and quickly wolfed down your girlfriend's handiwork, delicious, as usual.
Pouring yourself a tall glass of orange juice to wash it all down, you're quickly out the door and headed to your workplace right after.
-------------------------------
You're in the coffee shop, after saying hi to the other employees there, you decided that today you feel like helping out a bit so you put on your apron and manned the cashier. Just as well, because the morning rush today is quite busy, within a couple minutes of your arrival you've already received the order from a dozen of businessmen and businesswomen, who after ordering are immediately back on their phones working on whatever deals they were trying to close. Sighing, you quickly passed the order on to Frank, the shop's fastest coffee brewer. After a "yes boss" Frank quickly went to work, 10 minutes, and a very angry coffee machine later, Frank comes back with half a dozen coffees already brewed and ready to go. Man, even after all this time, the guy never fails to impress you with how fast he can brew coffee while still keeping the taste the same.
"Thanks Frank," you said, "Having such a fast coffee brewer really helps the shop out."
"No problem boss," Frank replied. "When the manager is manning the cashier, the least I can do is make sure he doesn't get chewed out by the customers for slow delivery." He smirks.
"Say what you will Frank, I know you would pay good money to see that happen." you replied with a chuckle, to which Frank just shoots a sly grin at you, not denying what you just said. Turning back towards the customers you called out the six orders that Frank just brewed and just as they were picked up, a new set of customers came rushing in through the doors. It's gonna be a long day...
-----------------------------------
At noon, the customers were starting to thin out as most people head to an actual restaurant for some real food, the few who do come in are those who want a light lunch. With the lull in the flow of customers, your mind starts to wander. You don't just operate the cashier to help the staff or stave off boredom, you also do it as a way to remember the first time you met Thea...
A/N: That's a wrap for Chapter 1! Please comment your thoughts below! So next chapter will be a flashback about the first time Y/n meets Thea, and I think that in homage to Arrow, I'll be alternating Flashback and normal chapters. the Flashbacks will tell the story of the start of their relationship so the timeline will probably span more than one day, while the normal chapters are all set on Y/n's birthday.

Timeless Wells (Flash) Soldier- Chapter 21
Tumblr media
“Don’t tell me you’re already giving up.”
You exhale, and the minute your eyes open, you feel weightless. It feels almost peaceful. Turning your head, you’re lying in a bed.
“My apartment..”
You don’t remember going to bed at all.
“About time you stopped lazing around.”
The man that walks through the door leaves you breathless.
“James..”
The brown haired male wears a bright smile. So do the other half dozen soldiers that walk in. They are all dressed pretty casually.
“Sleeping beauty woke up finally. You know you always were a princess.”
They rush at you on the bed laughing. Jumping on the bed as they tackle you. Your laughter mixes in with theirs and you fall off the bed. James is on top of you wrestling, and the rest of them watch, laughing heartily.
“All right, enough of your foolishness.”
Another soldier yells as he throws a pillow.
Your eyes tear up. Most of these faces were ones you never thought you would see. But now here they are. The light that beams from your window gives an almost angelic glow. As you look around the room, you feel nothing but joy. The smiles on their faces. The pure unfiltered happiness is surreal.
The door opens again, but the man who walks in isn’t who you expect. He’s decked down in dark clothing. His eyes glow an unnatural green. That face, you know that face.
“Oliver Queen?”
“You can call me The Spectre. Follow me.”
He turns, heading out the door, and you don’t follow immediately. You hesitate. Looking back at your friends. Standing slowly, you head out the door. The second it closes behind you, that all disappears. The door is gone, and you’re standing in what looks like a forest.
“W-What did you do to my friends!!!”
“You can go back to them if that’s what you want.”
“That is what I want.”
“Then why did you follow me?”
You clench your jaw.
“What game are you playing?”
This is unnerving.
“I’m sure you realized by now what’s going on.”
“Yeah I’m dead."
“And how exactly did you die?”
“That’s simple I was-” Your brows furrow. Because you don’t quite remember.
“I was..” You backtrack.
“You should have never crossed me Yale.”
Justin.
“I-Iris and Barry they’re hurt!!”
“That is correct. But you’re dead. As you’ve seen you can have a happy ending. What you saw back there might have felt like a dream. But it isn’t. If you choose to leave, then you can be reunited with your real friends. You wouldn’t have to carry around that guilt you feel everyday. The overbearing weight or surviving while they didn’t.”
You waver, hand shaking slightly.
“I..I could be with my friends..My family..”
“Yes. They are your family.”
He’s looking at you expectantly.
“If the right choice is going with them back there, then why are you here?”
‘I’m just here to help you make a decision. There are no good or bad ones. I’m your moral compass in a sense."
“So what you’re here to convince me that just giving up is the coward’s way out.”
“That’s up to you.”
“THOSE PEOPLE BACK THERE ARE MY FAMILY!!”
“Then what’s stopping you from just going to them.”
What was stopping you? As he said, you were dead. There isn’t anything you can do to help Barry and Iris. Ultimately, the cops would find them. It was only a matter of time before someone realized something was amiss. They would save your friends.
Or maybe…that’s what you were trying to convince yourself.
“Once you go back through that door, you’ll be happy. You won’t remember how you died, or even me. Right now you’re standing on the line of life or death. All you have to do is choose.”
Your lips quivered.
From the moment you’d seen the impossible, you wanted nothing more than to forget. A part of you had prayed that you went down with your team. Maybe somehow that would ease the burden. You would be with the only people who ever gave a damn about your existence.
But abandoning Iris and Barry, even Harrison. You can only imagine the havoc that would arise if his secret was discovered like this. He would be painted as some kind of monster.
For the first time, you needed to be better.
You needed to face this, rather than take the easiest route and run away. From your feelings, from your fears. From your pain. Throughout your life, you’d never really faced anything. You just kept running from one challenge to the next in hopes that it would make you feel less like a waste of space. Now you are given the chance to prove that you aren’t a coward. That there were bigger things in this world than dwelling on guilt and shame.
You need to fight.
You need to go back.
Oliver smiles.
“It seems like you’ve made up your mind. "
He takes a step closer.
“Please..take me back. I have to help them. I need to save them.”
He holds out his hand.
“Then let’s go back together.”
You nod, lifting your hand as you grasp his.
The green orb of light that follows makes you gape.
“T-That night..it was you..”
He shakes his head.
“As it turns out, you’re destined for much more Ms. Yale. Or should I say, Green Lantern.”
The light spreads throughout the entire space, and you feel nothing but the warmth around your body.

CH7 The Gift You Gave Me
Felicity pulled up outside the Queen mansion, second guessing her decision to come here and she hadn’t even stepped out of the car.
She should’ve just called Oliver.
Hell, she didn’t even know if he was home. He could’ve been with Laurel for all she knew.
However, she would feel stupid driving all the way here for nothing.
She wanted someone to talk to, someone who knew Tommy more if not better than her, and she really just didn’t want to be alone right now.
Steeling herself, she stepped out of the car and knocked on the massive oak doors.
After a few moments, it was opened by a middle-aged dark-haired woman from her description, Felicity believed the woman to be Raisa. The Queen’s beloved housekeeper. Felicity had heard a lot about the woman from both Oliver and Tommy.
“I’m sorry to show up unannounced. I should have called but...”
The woman smiled. “Ms. Felicity, right?”
Felicity’s lips parted in surprise.
“Mr. Oliver has mentioned you a few times. I assume you are here to see him.” Her voice was warm.
“If it’s not too much trouble.” Felicity breathes out shakily. She could really use a friend right now.
“Certainly. Mr. Oliver is in his room.” Raisa opened the door wider. “Why don’t you come in and I will tell him you are here.”
Felicity followed Raisa inside to a sitting room meant for entertaining guest, the woman disappeared shortly after leaving Felicity alone in the room. Felicity looked around the extravagant decor and felt even more out of her element.
It did not help her current state at all.
~*~ ~*~ ~*~
Oliver folded clothes and placed them in his duffle bag. He was just zipping it up when there was a knock on his bedroom door.
“Come in, Raisa.”
He knew it was Raisa because Thea had left for her boyfriend’s just a little over an hour ago.
“Mr. Oliver, Ms. Felicity is here to see you. I asked her to wait downstairs.”
Oliver barely hid his surprise. “Thank you, Raisa.”
Oliver reached for his phone when the door closed behind her departure, checking his phone for any missed calls from Felicity. There was none.
Oliver quickly placed his bag on the floor and nudge it with his foot and pushed it under his bed. He slipped his phone into his back pocket and went to meet Felicity downstairs.
~*~ ~*~ ~*~
Felicity felt her eyes grow wet as she looked at the family photos. They were of Oliver and Thea growing up, and even some of Tommy.
Her eyes lingered on a photo of two young boys smiling at the camera, mud caked their jeans with smudged dirt. It looked like they spent the day playing outside.
“Tommy and I were seven in that picture.”
Felicity nearly jumped out of her skin at the sound of his voice. She whirled around to face him, one hand resting over her heart, the other on her stomach. “Frack, you startled me. A little warning next time would be nice.”
“Sorry,” Oliver said apologetically. “I was going to come see you in a bit.” he paused, looking at her closely. “Are you okay? You’re a little pale today.”
“I’m fine.” Felicity let her hands fall to her sides. “I’m just tired.”
Oliver nodded. “It’s been an exhausting week.”
“I went to see Tommy because I needed to tell him something, and it’s just so awful. He’s not here and I really need him to be.” the words just started spilling out like a running faucet. “I wish I knew what he would have wanted. I know what I need to do and what I’m gonna do, and I can imagine what I would’ve wanted his reaction to be, but I’ll never know with certainty what he would’ve-”
“Felicity.” Oliver placed his hand gently on her shoulder. “Breathe.”
Felicity breathed out slowly and deeply, matching her breathing to Oliver’s.
“I knew Tommy almost better than anyone. Maybe I would know how he would’ve responded.” Oliver said gently. “What did you have to tell him?”
“I’m pregnant.” Felicity’s voice was barely above a whisper. Quiet.
Oliver’s lips parted in surprise.
“I found out when I woke up in the hospital. I tried not to think about it because of Tommy’s death and everything feels so impossible.” Felicity said. “I had my first appointment a few days ago. I got to see and hear the baby and it just made it so real. I went to tell him and I just don’t know - “
“Tommy would have been so happy. Don’t for a second think otherwise.”
“Yeah?” Felicity looked up at him, eyes shining with unshed tears.
“Yeah, Tommy had so little of it, but nothing was more important to him than family. The people he loved. He used to tell me when we were just kids that one day he was going to have a big family. Big enough to create his own baseball team.”
His words brought her some relief, but it didn’t elevate her fears.
Felicity half sobbed, half laughed.
Oliver reached for her hand, squeezing it. “It’s going to be okay. Whatever you decide to do, I’ll support you.”
“I’m keeping it. How can I not? It’s the last piece of Tommy I’ll ever have, but I am terrified of doing this alone.” Felicity admitted, voice cracking with tears.
“You’ll be great at this, like you are everything else and you won’t be doing this alone. I’ll be there for whatever you need. You’re not alone.” Oliver said, meaning every word.
“Promise?” A tear slipped down Felicity’s cheek, and she quickly brushed it away.
“I promise.” Oliver vowed. “Come here.” he pulled her into him, his arms enfolding her in his embrace. “I’m not going anywhere.”
There was no way he could leave now. Still, Laurel’s words echoed in the back of his mind.
Would Felicity and the baby be better off without him? Could he be a part of their lives without ruining them like he did everything else?
He didn’t know, but he was going to damn well try.
He would do everything he possibly could not to screw this up. It was too important.
~*~ ~*~ ~*~
Oliver could see Felicity was exhausted and insisted she stay and rest.
Felicity agreed. She was too tired to argue, and she didn’t want to be alone right now.
Oliver led her upstairs and down a series of corridors and stopped in front of a closed door adjacent to another closed door.
With a hand on her back, he pushed the door open, revealing a room large enough to fit her entire apartment in.
It had a fourposter bed, drape in royal blue bedding. A large dresser with a tv on the wall above it. A desk in one corner and a couch near the wall. Two closed doors.
Felicity assumed one led to a closet and the other to a private bathroom.
“This was Tommy’s room when he stayed here, which was often when we were younger.” Oliver told her. “I thought you would feel more comfortable here than in a guest room.”
It was so thoughtful. It instantly brought tears to her eyes. She never been this emotional or this quick to cry before. She blamed the pregnancy hormones.
“Thank you.” She said gratefully.
Oliver nodded. “If you need anything, I’m right across the hall. Get some rest. Raisa will have dinner ready in just a few hours and I think we both could use the downtime.”
Felicity looked around the room after the door closed behind Oliver.
She took a seat on the bed and reached for the photo of a woman holding a young boy on her hip. She had blue eyes and a familiar, carefree smile.
Felicity easily recognized the woman in the photo. Tommy had showed her pics of his mom before. She knew the little boy to be Tommy. The dark hair, blue eyes, and bright smile were a dead giveaway.
Felicity wondered if she had a boy would he be the spitting image of his father or would she have a little girl with her father’s smile and eyes?
Felicity set the picture back on the bedside table. She stood walking to the dresser and finding some of Tommy’s clothes. She lifted a dark grey shirt to her nose, tears instantly filled her eyes. It still smelled like Tommy.
Grabbing a pair of boxers and the shirt, Felicity walked to the bathroom that had a large shower.
She took a quick shower, combing her fingers through her hair. When she was done, she climbed into the fourposter bed on the side she knew to be Tommy’s. She somehow could still smell him on the pillowcase.
She was more tired than she thought. It didn’t take her long to fall asleep with Tommy’s scent surrounding her and the incredibly soft mattress and sheets.
~*~ ~*~ ~*~
“Raisa?” Oliver called, entering the kitchen.
“Mister Oliver?” Raisa walked out of the walk-in pantry. “What can I do for you?”
“My friend will be joining us for dinner. Could you make something healthy and well balanced?” Oliver requested, choosing his words carefully.
Oliver didn’t want to come out and say Felicity was pregnant. He didn’t know who all she wanted to know about her condition and he wanted to respect that. It was her business and no one else’s until she decided otherwise.
Raisa was silent as she looked at him and if he wasn’t who he was, he would’ve buckled under her scrutiny.
Finally, after a long moment, Raisa smiled warmly. “I will take care of it.”
“Thank you.” Oliver returned her smile.
“You’re welcome.” Raisa disappeared back into the pantry.
~*~ ~*~ ~*~
Felicity woke up a few hours later, her stomach rolling uncomfortably. Scrambling from the bed, she nearly tripped in her haste to get to the bathroom.
Her knees cracked on the tile floor as she threw herself before the white porcelain toilet bowl, retching.
It felt like hours but could only be minutes when she felt a hand pulling back the strands of her hair sweeping it over her neck and then rubbing her back in soothing circles.
“Are you okay?” Oliver asked, voice laced with concern.
Felicity leaned back against him, catching her breath and wiping her mouth with the back of her hand.
She could still taste the bile in her mouth. It was disgusting.
“I will be,” she answered.
When she moved to push herself up, Oliver was there, helping her stand.
“You wouldn’t happen to have an extra toothbrush, toothpaste and mouthwash lying around, would you?” Felicity asked hopefully, turning on the faucet and leaning over the sink to wash her mouth out.
“Tommy kept extras of almost everything hygienic under the sink.” Oliver placed his hand on her side, urging her a little over so he could open the door beneath the sink.
Felicity gratefully accepted the new toothbrush, toothpaste and mouthwash, wasting no time brushing her teeth and rinsing her mouth out.
Oliver watched her. He had this weight on his chest. She was so pale and her skin looked clammy. She looked like she had an awful stomach bug.
Maybe he should take her to the hospital? Make sure everything was fine with her and the baby.
“Are you sure you’re okay and it’s nothing serious?” Oliver asked.
Felicity splashed some water on her face and patted it dry with a hand towel. “It’s jus morning sickness. It comes and goes.”
“But it’s not morning.” Oliver protested.
“Tell me about it.” Felicity noted his concern and offered up a small smile. “I’m okay. We’re okay. Promise. If I thought something was wrong, I would already be on my way to the hospital.”
“Okay.” Oliver trusted her words, certain she knew her own body. “Do you think you will be able to eat something? Raisa is working on dinner. It should be done in about an hour.”
“I’ll try.” Felicity said.
“Okay then. I’m just across the hall if you need anything.”
“Oliver.” Felicity called out when he turned to leave.
He waited, eyes locking on hers.
“Thank you.”
Oliver shook his head. “You never have to thank me.”
Felicity watched him go, feeling closer to him than before. She wasn’t as alone as she thought she was.
It didn’t make her miss Tommy less, but it helped to know she didn’t have to go through this alone.
~*~ ~*~ ~*~
Felicity looked around the dining room table as Raisa only set down two plates. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” the other woman smiled warmly.
“Everything looks great, Raisa.” Oliver complimented.
“It smells great.” Felicity added. The delicious aroma of the food was actually making her hungry despite her earlier bouts of morning sickness.
Oven roasted chicken, baked potatoes and green beans.
Raisa smiled and excused herself.
“Will Thea not be joining us?” Felicity wondered.
“She’s staying with Roy at the moment.” Oliver answered.
Felicity nodded and began to eat her food. Oliver followed her lead and ate his own dinner slowly.
Dinner was ate quietly with the comfortableness of two friends who didn’t feel the need to fill the silence with unnecessary small talk.
After dinner, Oliver convinced Felicity to walk with him on the grounds. Claiming the fresh air will do her and the baby both some good.
Oliver felt that same weight on his chest as he walked with her.
If Felicity hadn’t come over today, he would’ve left for Lian Yu at dawn after wiring her and John some money.
She would have been alone. He didn’t really know anything about her family. He never bothered to ask. He should have, because he didn’t know if she would have anyone to support her.
The guilt weighed heavier on him. He wasn’t a good friend or partner. He vowed he would do better. Starting now.
“It’s beautiful out here.” Felicity commented.
The garden they walked through was filled with flower beds and there was a pristine white gazebo off in the distance.
“My grandmother prided herself on the garden. My mother did not inherit her green thumb, but she made sure it was well taken care of.” Oliver said, his hand naturally migrated to her lower back as he walked her toward the gazebo. “My grandfather had this built for my grandmother so she could sit and look out at her garden.”
There was a hanging swing, and Felicity took a seat as Oliver sat down beside her.
They sat quietly and Felicity watched as the garden lights came on, casting a warm glow followed by garden sprinklers to wet the grass.
“I was gonna leave.” Oliver said, something screaming inside of him to be completely honest with her.
Perhaps that was his first step to doing better as both her teammate and her friend.
“What?” Felicity’s head snapped toward him.
“I was packing a bag, intending to leave at dawn tomorrow.” Oliver continued.
“Where were you going to go?” Felicity asked.
“Lian Yu.” he answered.
“That’s the island you were stranded on.” Said Felicity.
Oliver nodded wordlessly, answering her.
“I don’t understand.” Felicity admitted.
Hadn’t that place been hell for him? Why would he want to go back there, of all places?
“I’ve caused so much pain since coming home.” Oliver’s voice was filled with anguish.
“You thought anyone would be better off if you never came home.” Felicity shook her head. “That is so far from the truth.”
“You don’t have to make me feel better.” Oliver looked away.
“I’m being honest here, Oliver. Making you feel better is just a bonus.” Felicity grabbed his arm. “Hey, look at me.”
Oliver turned his eyes back to her, waiting.
“Tommy, while he was angry about you being the vigilante and the lies, and the complicated thing with Laurel he was happy to have his brother back and I don’t know your family well but I can only imagine how happy they were to have you back.”
“Feli-”
“I’m not done.” Felicity cut him off, but not unkindly. “If I hadn’t met you, I never would’ve met and fallen in love with Tommy. It hurts right now but I wouldn’t trade back one second I spent with him for the world. You have saved so many lives since coming home. The entire Glades would’ve been destroyed and I’m not sure I would be here right now if not for you.”
She lived on just the edge of the Glades. If that second device went off, her place might have fallen with the Glades. If hadn’t come for her that night, she’s not sure she would’ve ever walked out of the Foundry that night.
“Things have not been perfect, but life never is. You’ve done more for this city than anyone has. If you don’t want to believe that you are good for anyone, then at least believe that.”
Oliver let her words set in, washing over him like a balm. He squeezed her hand in thanks.
“You may not believe in yourself, but I do.” Felicity said earnestly.
Oliver stood up. “Come here.” he tugged on her hand, pulling her up and into his arms. “Thank you.”
Felicity returned the embrace, then pulled back. “I hate to ruin this moment because you rarely give out hugs.”
A breathy laugh escaped him.
“But do you still plan on leaving?” Felicity asked.
“No.” Oliver answered. “I promise I’m not going anywhere. I’ll be here for whatever you need.”
Felicity nodded, relieved, laying her head against his chest. The beat of his heart and his arms tightening around her made her feel like they were in this together and she needed that.
Oliver promised himself that this was the one thing he would not fail.
Felicity believed in him and he found that was enough to quiet his demons.

Vape Memories
I'm moving.  You don't need to know this. This is for me.  I'm moving.  I saved the bed for last. I dragged the mattress with all the bedding still attached down those steep narrow stairs and strapped it down in my trailer. When I got it to my new place, I somehow dragged it up a different set of narrow stairs with the bedding still hanging on. I shoved it into a corner of my new room and tried it out. I immediately rolled into the wall. I'm sorry for all those nights you had to spend on that mattress. I'm sorry for complaining so much about how you didn't let me get enough sleep when sleep should never have been possible on that piece of shit mattress. I went back to take care of those old wooden pallets I used to hold that old mattress. Those old pallets I used because I'm creative and different, because I don't need to go buy a traditional bed, because I wanted a rustic look, because I'm an idiot. I slowly brought down each pallet, bumping into walls, getting slivers. Indents in the carpet remained that will probably never fully disappear. And I've never seen so much hair and dust and lint gathered in one spot. Honestly, it was disgusting. I was surprised to find very little else left on the carpet, an old band aid from the pharmacy when I got my Flu Shot, a candy wrapper, and a vape of yours. The vape you lost which slipped between the mattress and the wall and somehow made it through the stack of three pallets all the way to the floor. The vape I had tried to reach, lifting the mattress and stretching my arms into the gaps of the pallets. The vape you had said to forget. I picked it up and wiped off the dust. I slipped it into my pocket and drove those old pallets to my new place. I'm not going to use them again. I think I'll burn them. That old wood, covered in dust and lint and hair, should burn easily enough. I set them in the backyard and pulled out your vape. I thought about you and the vape that was always near by, how I wouldn't be surprised if you had a vape in your hand for more time in the day than not, like it was an iconic accessory of a cartoon character or maybe a superhero. I thought of you holding it in your hand as you scrolled on your phone or tried pulling me into those serious talks of ours, even while fucking, you like a queen with your arms and legs open as you exhaled steam with disregard, me feeding you grapes, fanning your stoic face, massaging your olive skin. I thought of you and tried that old vape, taking it like a cigar, never mastering how to do it. I coughed and smoke sputtered out of my mouth, the taste of mango still strong. I think I'll keep it. I think I'll treat it like a fine liquor, taking it out at special moments, perhaps with a candle burning in my holy room, or while on a night walk under yellow lights, a pilgrimage through this new part of town, or maybe while sitting cross-legged before a burning pallet, the smell of treated wood and burnt hair mingling with the smell of grass and cherry blossoms. I'll close my eyes and press my lips to your vape and let the vapor slowly into my mouth until it tickles my throat and I'll think of you. And one day, the vape will run out, I'll inhale deeper, searching for the mango blanket to fill around my tongue and teeth, and I will find nothing but empty air. I will say a blessing, lift the lid to the trash container, and drop it in with a soft thud not unlike the beat of a heart.

FADE IN:
EXT. CITY STREET - DAY
A billionaire is walking down the street, talking on his phone when a green energy arrow hits him in the shoulder. He falls to the ground, dead.
EMERALD ARCHER (O.S.) (stepping out of the shadows) Looks like he couldn't keep his balance.
Emerald Archer, the Green Universe version of Oliver Queen, smirks as he looks at the lifeless body.
EMERALD ARCHER (CONT'D) (continuing his pun) But don't worry, I'll make sure his balance sheet is zeroed out.
He chuckles to himself and disappears into the shadows as people start to gather around the scene.
CUT TO:
TITLE CARD: "The Flash"
FADE OUT.
INT. STAR LABS - DAY
Iris, Chester, Allegra, and Snow-Green are gathered around Emerald as he lays on a bed in Star Labs. Iris hands the technology box to Chester.
IRIS: (to Chester) Can you use this to charge up the greenforce in Emerald?
CHESTER: I'll try my best.
Chester places the technology box on Emerald's chest and begins to tinker with it. Suddenly, Emerald's body starts to vibrate.
CHESTER: Whoa, this is crazy! I can feel the latent speedforce in him.
ALLEGRA: (smirks) Don't get too excited, Chester.
CHESTER: (laughs) I know, I know. I'm just saying, this is some powerful stuff.
ALLEGRA: (teasingly) I bet you're used to vibrations, huh?
Chester laughs, but Iris rolls her eyes.
IRIS: Can we please focus, guys?
SNOW-GREEN: (nods) She's right. We need to concentrate on charging the greenforce in Emerald.
Chester nods in agreement and continues to work on the technology box.
INT. HALLWAY OUTSIDE THE ROOM WITH RIDDLEMAN AND GREEN FURY
Green Fury walks down the hallway towards Riddleman's room, holding a small bottle of smelling salts. She unlocks the door and enters, finding Riddleman lying unconscious on the bed.
GREEN FURY: (softly) Wake up, my love.
RIDDLEMAN: (groaning) What…happened?
GREEN FURY: (offering the smelling salts) You passed out, but we need your help.
Riddleman takes a deep breath of the salts and awakens with a start.
RIDDLEMAN: (speaking in green-themed riddles) Green as the grass, I've been revived. But why do you need me, my Green Fury bride?
GREEN FURY: (taking his hand) Emerald needs our help. He's connected to the Emerald Archer, and we need to break that connection.
RIDDLEMAN: (nodding) I understand. Let us go and help our friend.
INT. STAR LABS MAIN ROOM
Green Fury and Riddleman enter the room to find Emerald vibrating on a table, with Allegra and Chester working on the technology box to charge up the greenforce.
GREEN FURY: (to the team) Any progress?
ALLEGRA: (frustrated) Not yet. It's like we're hitting a wall.
CHESTER: (wiping sweat from his brow) This is tougher than I thought it would be.
RIDDLEMAN: (speaking in riddles) The green energy within him is trapped, by the archer's power that overlaps. We must break the link, to revive the one on the brink.
IRIS: (entering the room) What's going on?
GREEN FURY: (to Riddleman) Can you help us sever the connection between Emerald and Emerald Archer?
RIDDLEMAN: (confidently) Of course, my love. But first, you must solve this riddle with a green theme, to help me unlock my mind's dream.
IRIS: (sighing) What's the riddle?
RIDDLEMAN: (speaking in riddles) What's green, has leaves but isn't a tree, and is used to make tea?
The team looks at each other, thinking hard about the answer.
FADE IN:
EXT. RAY PALMER'S OFFICE - NIGHT
Emerald Archer and Speedy Green are standing outside the door of Ray Palmer's office, their bows drawn and aimed at the door.
EMERALD ARCHER: (to Speedy Green) You ready to take out the competition?
SPEEDY GREEN: (smiling) Let's do this.
As they're about to shoot their arrows, a blast of green willpower energy knocks the arrows out of their hands.
EMERALD ARCHER: (turning around to face John Diggle Green Lantern) What the--?
JOHN DIGGLE: You're not going anywhere, Emerald Archer and Speedy Green.
Emerald Archer and Speedy Green readies their bows, but before they can shoot, Good Green Barry Allen runs up behind them and delivers a swift kick to the back of their knees, causing them to stumble.
GOOD GREEN BARRY: Hey, buddies. My speedster name is Good Green Barry Allen. Nice to meet you.
EMERALD ARCHER: Who the hell are you?
SPEEDY GREEN: Yeah, and what's with the "Good" Green?
GOOD GREEN BARRY: (smiling) I'm the good guy, you guys are the bad guys.
Emerald Archer and Speedy Green try to take shots, but Good Green Barry effortlessly dodges them.
SPEEDY GREEN: (grinning) Looks like we've got ourselves a speedster.
Emerald Archer fires an arrow at Good Green Barry, but he phases through it and lands a blow of his own. Meanwhile, Speedy Green is taking on John Diggle with a flurry of punches and kicks.
JOHN DIGGLE: (grinning) You two are no match for us.
Emerald Archer and Speedy Green try to regroup and fight back, but the battle rages on. The four of them engage in a fierce fight, with punches and arrows flying everywhere.
Despite their best efforts, none of them seems to gain the upper hand. The fight continues, with no clear winner in sight.
FADE OUT.
FADE IN:
INT. STAR LABS - DAY
Snow-Green is standing in front of the team, holding a piece of paper in her hand. Riddleman is standing beside her, twirling a green-tinted cane.
SNOW-GREEN: (smiling) The answer to your riddle is tea.
RIDDLEMAN: (applauding) Very good, Snow-Green. You're quite the clever one.
CHESTER: (reading from the paper) "Sever the ties between Green Ronnie and Green Thawne to gather the latent speedforce energy inside and use it to charge up Emerald and Barry."
IRIS: (nodding) It's worth a shot.
CECILE: (looking concerned) But how are we going to do that?
ALLEGRA: (thinking) Well, we know that Green Thawne is from the future, so maybe we can find a way to send him back.
SNOW-GREEN: (nodding) And if we can separate him from Green Ronnie, we might be able to harness that energy.
RIDDLEMAN: (smiling) Yes, yes, very good. The potential for success is clear, like the leaves on a green plant.
IRIS: (determined) Alright then, let's get to work.
The team starts to move out, preparing to execute their plan.
FADE OUT.
FADE IN:
INT. STAR LABS - DAY
Cecile and Joe are in a quiet corner of Star Labs, discussing ways in which Cecile could use her mind powers to assist the team.
JOE: Have you given any thought to how you can use your powers to help us with this Green Ronnie and Green Thawne situation?
CECILE: (thoughtful) Well, I've been trying to focus on amplifying my telepathic abilities. I'm hoping that I can tap into their thoughts and feelings, and maybe even influence their actions.
JOE:  (nodding) That could definitely come in handy. But what about your empathy? Do you think you could use that to track down any emotional connections between them?
CECILE: (considering) Hmm, that's a good idea. I could try to sense any residual emotional ties between them and then work on severing them.
JOE: (impressed) That's some next-level psychic work, Cecile. I have no doubt you'll be able to make it happen.
CECILE: (smiling) Thanks, Joe. I'm just happy to be able to help in any way I can.
The two share a brief moment of silence before returning to their work.
FADE OUT.
FADE IN:
EXT. STAR CITY - NIGHT
John Diggle Green Lantern and Good Green Barry Allen are in a fierce battle with Speedy Green and Emerald Archer.
EMERALD ARCHER: (parrying a blow from Good Green Barry) You know what's wrong with the world? Billionaires like Ray Palmer hoard wealth while people struggle just to survive.
GOOD GREEN BARRY: (landing a punch on Emerald Archer) I agree that wealth inequality is a serious problem, but that doesn't give you the right to destroy entire universes.
SPEEDY GREEN: (firing an arrow at John Diggle)  And what about the fact that the rich have the power to shape the world to their liking? That's not fair either.
JOHN DIGGLE: (blocking the arrow with his ring) I hear what you're saying, but you can't just take justice into your own hands. That's not how the law works.
The two sides continue to exchange blows, each trying to gain the upper hand. Emerald Archer and Speedy Green continue to make compelling arguments about the need for social and economic justice, while John Diggle and Good Green Barry argue that violence and destruction are not the answer.
EMERALD ARCHER: (grappling with Good Green Barry) We're not the villains here. We're fighting for what's right.
GOOD GREEN BARRY: (dodging an arrow from Speedy Green) There's a right way and a wrong way to fight for what you believe in. You're choosing the wrong way.
The battle rages on, with no clear end in sight.
FADE OUT.
FADE IN:
INT. STAR LABS - MAIN ROOM - DAY
Chester types furiously on his computer as the team watches eagerly. Suddenly, a green light emanates from his device and spreads through the room.
CHESTER: (grinning) We did it! Green Ronnie and Green Thawne are now two separate entities.
IRIS: (smiling) That's great news, Chester.
ALLEGRA: (holding up her hand) And I've got just the thing to get Barry and Emerald back in the game.
Allegra aims her light beam at Iris's wedding ring and it bounces off, hitting Barry, Emerald, and Thawne.
BARRY: (opening his eyes) Whoa. What happened?
EMERALD: (also opening his eyes) I feel… different.
CHESTER: (jokingly) And Thawne's now a vibrating husk on the floor. Sorry not sorry.
IRIS: (turning to Barry) Are you ready?
BARRY: (nodding) Let's do this.
Barry suits up and takes Emerald with him as they exit STAR Labs.
CUT TO:
EXT. CENTRAL CITY - DAY
Barry and Emerald run through the streets of Central City, scanning the area for any sign of Emerald Archer.
EMERALD: (breathing heavily) This is insane. How do you do this all the time?
BARRY: (smiling) You get used to it.
Suddenly, they hear the sound of arrows whistling through the air.
EMERALD: (drawing his bow) That must be Emerald Archer.
Barry speeds ahead while Emerald takes cover behind a nearby building. As Barry dodges the arrows, he spots Emerald Archer on a rooftop.
BARRY: (calling out) Stop this, Emerald Archer. We can help you.
EMERALD ARCHER: (smirking) Sorry, Flash. But I have a job to do.
Emerald Archer fires an arrow at Barry, who manages to catch it in mid-air.
BARRY: (grinning) Nice try.
Barry throws the arrow back at Emerald Archer, but he easily dodges it.
EMERALD ARCHER: (laughing) Is that all you've got?
BARRY: (smiling) Not even close.
Barry charges forward, punching Emerald Archer in the face. Meanwhile, Emerald takes aim at the rooftop and fires an arrow at John Diggle and Good Green Barry, who are still fighting Speedy Green.
EMERALD: (calling out) Duck!
John Diggle and Good Green Barry quickly dodge the arrow, giving them the chance to take down Speedy Green.
EMERALD: (smiling) Nice shot.
BARRY: (grinning) You're not so bad yourself.
The two heroes regroup and prepare to take on Emerald Archer together.
FADE OUT.
FADE IN:
INT. STAR LABS - MAIN ROOM - DAY
Riddleman is sitting in a corner, surrounded by green-themed riddles that he's scribbled on pieces of paper. He looks distraught, mumbling to himself in riddles.
RIDDLEMAN: What's green and red and goes a million miles an hour? My heart, breaking with every second that I'm like this.
Snow-Green approaches him with a reassuring smile.
SNOW-GREEN: Hey, Riddleman. How are you doing?
RIDDLEMAN: What's green and has a broken heart? This guy.
Iris, Allegra, Chester, and Cecile watch from a distance.
IRIS: (whispering to Allegra) We need to find Emerald Archer before it's too late.
ALLEGRA: (nodding) I'm on it.
CHESTER: (smiling) And I'm on making sure Thawne doesn't pull any tricks.
Cecile walks up to Riddleman, placing a hand on his shoulder.
CECILE: Riddleman, can you hear me?
RIDDLEMAN: What's green and can hear everything but still can't get through to the love of his life? Me.
CECILE: (smiling) Listen, I can try to enter your mind and help you. Would you like that?
RIDDLEMAN: What's green and wants nothing more than to be fixed? Me.
Cecile closes her eyes and focuses her mind, entering Riddleman's "mind palace." The scene ends as she disappears into his subconscious.
FADE OUT.
INT. MULTIVERSE - FIGHT SCENE - CONTINUOUS
John Diggle Green Lantern and Good Green Barry Allen are taking a beating from Emerald Archer and Speedy Green. John Diggle Green Lantern grunts as he blocks an arrow with his green energy shield.
JOHN DIGGLE GREEN LANTERN We can't keep this up much longer.
GOOD GREEN BARRY ALLEN (panting) I know. But we have to keep fighting. We can't let them win.
Emerald Archer smirks as she knocks Good Green Barry Allen to the ground with a well-placed arrow.
EMERALD ARCHER You're fighting for a world that doesn't deserve you. Why bother?
GOOD GREEN BARRY ALLEN (struggling to stand) Because it's the right thing to do. It's what heroes do.
John Diggle Green Lantern steps in front of Good Green Barry Allen, using his power ring to create a shield to protect them both.
JOHN DIGGLE GREEN LANTERN I've always loved you, Barry.
Good Green Barry Allen looks at John Diggle Green Lantern, touched.
GOOD GREEN BARRY ALLEN (smiling) I know. And I've always loved you, too.
Suddenly, regular Barry and Emerald arrive, ready to help.
REGULAR BARRY ALLEN Hey, guys! We've got an idea.
Good Green Barry Allen nods, and regular Barry whispers something in his ear.
GOOD GREEN BARRY ALLEN (grinning) I think it just might work.
The scene ends as they prepare to put their plan into action.
INT. STAR LABS - RIDDLEMAN'S LAB
Cecile closes her eyes and concentrates, reaching out with her mind to enter Riddleman's mind palace. She finds herself in a dark, ominous place filled with green riddles floating in the air.
CECILE (whispering) Hello? Is anyone here?
Suddenly, a small, frightened boy appears before her. He has Riddleman's face and is surrounded by a group of mocking children.
BOY RIDDLEMAN (tearfully) Who are you?
CECILE (smiling) My name is Cecile. I'm here to help.
BOY RIDDLEMAN (scared) You can't help me. This is the Riddle universe. Nobody understands me.
CECILE (calmly) I understand. But I'm here to tell you that it's okay to be yourself. You don't have to hide behind riddles anymore.
BOY RIDDLEMAN (incredulous) What do you mean?
CECILE (gently) You don't have to be afraid of being different. You're special just the way you are.
BOY RIDDLEMAN (smiling) Really?
CECILE (nodding) Really. And you don't have to be scared anymore. I'm going to help you.
Cecile reaches out and touches the boy's forehead. He begins to glow with a bright green light and suddenly transforms into a confident, grown-up Riddleman.
RIDDLEMAN (amazed) Cecile! You did it!
CECILE (smiling) I just helped you see the truth. You were never broken, Riddleman. You just needed to believe in yourself.
RIDDLEMAN (thankful) Thank you, Cecile. Thank you so much.
Cecile nods and begins to exit the mind palace, leaving Riddleman behind. As she opens her eyes, she sees Riddleman standing before her, his eyes clear and free of fear.
RIDDLEMAN (grateful) Cecile, I don't know how to thank you.
CECILE (smiling) Just keep being the brilliant, green-themed riddle master that you are. And remember, it's okay to be yourself.
The two embrace, and the scene fades to black.
EXT. CENTRAL CITY - NIGHT
Good Green Barry Allen and Regular Universe Barry Allen stand in front of Speedy Green and Emerald Archer, who are both looking downcast.
GOOD GREEN BARRY ALLEN (angrily) You know what the problem with you two is? You've never known love. You've only known hate and revenge.
Regular Universe Barry Allen nods in agreement.
REGULAR UNIVERSE BARRY ALLEN Love is the most powerful force in the universe. It can conquer anything.
Speedy Green and Emerald Archer exchange a glance.
SPEEDY GREEN (sadly) I've never known love. Only the pain of losing my father.
EMERALD ARCHER (sadly) And I've only known the desire for revenge.
Regular Universe Barry Allen steps forward and puts his hand on Emerald Archer's shoulder.
REGULAR UNIVERSE BARRY ALLEN (empathetically) But it's never too late to change. You can choose to let go of the anger and the pain, and open your heart to love.
Emerald Archer looks at Regular Universe Barry Allen, tears welling up in his eyes.
EMERALD ARCHER (sadly) I don't know if I can.
Good Green Barry Allen steps forward and takes Emerald Archer's other shoulder.
GOOD GREEN BARRY ALLEN (optimistically) You can. We all have the capacity for love. You just have to let go of the past and open yourself up to it.
Emerald Archer nods, and Speedy Green looks at them both with a small smile.
SPEEDY GREEN (gratefully) Thank you.
Suddenly, Speedy Green and Emerald Archer are enveloped in a bright green light and disappear.
REGULAR UNIVERSE BARRY ALLEN (surprised) What just happened?
GOOD GREEN BARRY ALLEN (excitedly) I think they've been absorbed into the greenforce!
John Diggle Green Lantern flies over to them.
JOHN DIGGLE GREEN LANTERN (looking relieved) Thank goodness. It looks like we've won.
Good Green Barry Allen turns to Regular Universe Barry Allen.
GOOD GREEN BARRY ALLEN (whispering) I have an idea. Follow my lead.
The scene ends with Good Green Barry Allen and Regular Universe Barry Allen whispering to each other, but we don't get to hear what they're saying.
FADE IN:
INT. STAR LABS - NIGHT
The team is celebrating their victory with a foam party. Good Green Barry Allen and regular Barry Allen are standing together, covered in foam.
GOOD GREEN BARRY ALLEN: I can't thank you enough for your help, man. You saved me back there.
REGULAR BARRY ALLEN: (smiling) No problem. That's what we do here.
GOOD GREEN BARRY ALLEN: You know, in my original timeline, I died because of a lack of green energy. But I must have been revived when Iris created the time vortex.
REGULAR BARRY ALLEN: (puzzled) That's… interesting. I never even thought about that.
Good Green Barry Allen nods and takes a sip of his drink. Meanwhile, John Diggle Green Lantern walks over to them.
JOHN DIGGLE GREEN LANTERN: (to Good Green Barry Allen) Ready to go back?
Good Green Barry Allen nods and turns to regular Barry Allen.
GOOD GREEN BARRY ALLEN: Goodbye, Barry. I hope we'll see each other again.
REGULAR BARRY ALLEN: (smiling) I'm sure we will. Take care.
John Diggle Green Lantern and Good Green Barry Allen share a kiss and disappear in a flash of green light, returning to the green universe.
As the foam party continues, Barry stands deep in thought, pondering the implications of what Good Green Barry Allen had just told him.
FADE OUT.
INT. STAR LABS - FOAM PARTY - NIGHT
The foam party is in full swing. Everyone is dancing and having a good time. Suddenly, Snow-Green and Emerald step up to the center of the room.
SNOW-GREEN: Excuse me, everyone! Emerald and I have something to announce.
EMERALD: We've decided to return to the Green Universe to start a new life together.
Everyone looks surprised.
SNOW-GREEN: We want to thank you all for your friendship and support.
Suddenly, Green Fury steps forward.
GREEN FURY: Wait just a minute. I'm not going anywhere. I'm staying in this universe.
EMERALD: But Green Fury, why?
GREEN FURY: I'm staying because I want to be with the love of my life, Riddleman.
RIDDLEMAN: (becoming emotional) Green Fury…
Cecile puts her arm around Riddleman and speaks to him softly.
IRIS: Well, as happy as we are for Snow-Green and Emerald, we have our own news.
Allegra places her hand on her stomach.
ALLEGRA: Iris and I are still pregnant.
CHESTER: (in a funny tone) Well, I guess the universe will just have to wait for another speedster to arrive.
Everyone laughs.
IRIS: Alright, who's up for pizza?
Everyone cheers and starts making their way to the kitchen.
As they exit the room, the camera lingers on Green Fury and Riddleman. They are lost in each other's eyes.
FADE OUT.
FADE IN:
INT. STAR LABS - CONTINUOUS
Riddleman takes Green Fury aside, looking nervous.
RIDDLEMAN: (rambling in riddles) My love for you is like a green tea blend, A concoction of sweetness that'll never end. In the Green Universe, you're the queen, But here in this universe, you make my heart sing.
Green Fury looks touched and takes his hand.
GREEN FURY: (smiling) Riddleman, I love you too.
Suddenly, a loud noise interrupts them, and they turn to see a blender turning on by itself. The vortex begins to form behind Riddleman, and he is pulled towards it.
RIDDLEMAN: (panicking) Green Fury! I had something important to ask you!
GREEN FURY: (concerned) What is it?
RIDDLEMAN: (shouting over the noise) Will you marry me?!
Green Fury looks shocked but doesn't get a chance to respond as Riddleman is pulled into the vortex.
GREEN FURY: (calling after him) Riddleman!
FADE OUT.
FADE IN:
EXT. STAR LABS - NIGHT
The camera pans to Star Labs, where everyone is still picking up blenders and shaking them, trying to find Riddleman.
Suddenly, a blender turns on and a portal opens up, and out comes Supergirl herself, wearing a Riddler hat.
SUPERGIRL: Hey, guys! Did somebody say riddles?
Iris and Allegra look at each other in disbelief.
IRIS: Supergirl? What are you doing here? And why are you wearing a Riddler hat?
SUPERGIRL: (long pause) You know, sometimes you just have to mix things up a little. (smirks)
CHESTER: But how did you get here?
SUPERGIRL: I was chasing a villain through the multiverse, and I stumbled upon this universe by accident. I guess I got a little lost.
ALLEGRA: But why are you wearing a Riddler hat?
SUPERGIRL: I made a deal with the Riddler. He promised to give me a clue to where the villain was headed if I wore this hat for a day. And here I am.
IRIS: Well, we're glad you're here. Maybe you can help us find Riddleman.
SUPERGIRL: Riddleman? Who's Riddleman?
The camera zooms in on Iris's face as the scene ends.
FADE TO BLACK.

THE FLASH…II
CHAPTER THREE: ELLIPISM
They never told Iris. They never told anyone. Iris found out. Rather she figured it out. Way before they actually started the relationship. It was the smile Barry had when he introduced her to Oliver. It was the way his dimples were showing, they're noticeable only if he excessively smiles. It was the light that illuminated his eyes, making them a stunning shade of green, a green she had never seen before. It was the way he stuttered. Barry often stuttered, but it was different that time, it felt like he was searching for the right voice, for the right tone and for the right words. Barry had never done that. But that time, that particular time he did. And Iris knew. She understood instantly the connection between the two. She immediately caught on her foster brother's infatuation towards the other man. That's why she called.
Oliver had risked his life more in the six hundred miles he had just drove than during his permanence on Lian Yu. The motorcycle almost fell when he hopped off. He run in as fast as he could, his jacket and helmet still on. He had a dejavu. Just like a year and a half ago he felt as if he was dissociated from his body. As if someone else was controlling his actions. He heard himself scream Iris' name. But he couldn't feel himself opening his mouth, or raising his voice. He couldn't feel the scratch in his throat, or the pain in his lungs. However Oliver felt the terror, he felt the anxiety bubbling in his chest, quickening his heartbeat. He felt the horror, he felt the fear flowing in his veins, reaching his brain and feeding the millions different scenarios running through his head. He screamed again, and again, until his blurry vision caught a distant figure.
Iris had once again sat down beside her father, her head back on his shoulder, their hands locked into one another. The woman was breathing heavily, desperately trying to contain what most likely was an horrible panic attack. Joe saw it. Of course he did. He always did. He turned his head towards her and placed his lips on her forehead, he tightened the grip on her hand in attempt to comfort her; to comfort himself. The sight they were currently witnessing was simply horrifying. There were no other words to describe it, or the feelings it was provoking. And they didn't think there could be something more frightening than that. The wouldn't have, but then they heard the scream. Joe's hand instinctively want to the gun hostler attached to his hip. Cisco jumped from his chair and Caitlin froze on the spot. Iris' eyes went wide. She rapidly stood up and run towards the corridor. She run as fast as she could, her father at her tail. Seconds later she found herself in front of a view she never thought she would see. Oliver Queen in a pair of sweatpants, a leather jacket and a motorcycle helmet in his hand; face wet with tears, chest heavy with anxiety and hands trembling in fear. She slowly approached the man, calculated every movement in fear he would break.
"Oliver"
She whispered.
"What-wh-what happened "
He replied, heavy breaths in between every syllable.
"Zoom won this fight too"
She explained, and she didn't need to say anything else. Oliver rushed past her, he sprinted to the infirmary. Caitlin was there, she had recognised the voice.
"He has suffered from a mild concussion, his wrist was fractured and his ankle dislocated. He had several cracked ribs, however this isn't what I'm concerned about. I suspect that he has also suffered from a spinal cord injury, but I can't be sure until he wakes up. Unfortunately I don't know when that will happen. His healing is extremely enhanced, but that doesn't mean he doesn't need rest."
Caitlin described the situation, settling even more fear in Oliver's heart.
He cautiously approached the med bed, scared that Barry would disappear if he did it to fast. Barry. His Barry. It was heart wreaking watching him lie there. He looked so small. Oliver almost laughed at that. Barry was a 6 ft 2" man. Yet he look so small. So fragile. He seemed made of glass. Of crystal. Oliver couldn't think of another single time in which he felt such pain, such sorrow deep in his gut. His hand reached for the plastic chair behind him just seconds before his legs gave out. He took Barry's hand in his. His Barry.
"Bear"
Oliver barely whispered with a voice broken by misery. He lowered his head on the mattress and let himself break. Just for a moment, but he allowed to let himself sob. How could he not? His Barry was lying there looking lifeless. His Barry.
Oliver rapidly regained his composure. He observed the room, taking notice of everyone's absence. Then his eyes met Barry's face. His Barry. How could he look so gorgeous? He thought. Should he had felt bad for thinking that in such bitter circumstances? Perhaps. But he didn't. He felt sad? No. Wretched? No. Glum maybe? No. He couldn't find the right word to describe exactly what he was feeling. Did it matter anyway ? No, but it was some sort of effort to make himself feel better. Feel something at least. He was grasping at every crumb of rationality to somehow try to find a reason to all the pain Barry had to go through. All the pain the both of them had to endure.
"Ellipsism"
Felicity had said one day, out of the blue. Oliver was exercising while John meticulously scrutinised him.
"Is that a word you invented?"
He had answered.
"No, idiot. Ellipsism: A sadness that you'll never be able to know how history will turn out. I'm trying to amplify my vocabulary so that I can learn to express myself better and not stutter."
She responded to his attempt to comedy.
That was it. That was what he was feeling in that moment. What was eating him from the inside. Ellipsism: A sadness that you'll never be able to know how history will turn out. It was scary, terrifying not knowing what the future was holding for him. Was there more suffering? More tragedy? Did they get their happy ending? Was Barry even in his future? The unknown in that precise instant represented the most frightening of the enemies Oliver had ever faced in his entire permanence on the island. In his entire life, if he had to be completely honest with himself. For the third time in less then twenty four hours Oliver's mind was invaded by a storm of thousands and thousands of distinct thoughts, different possibilities for their future. However everything conjoined into one thing. Everything rotated back to that sadness that you'll never be able to know how history will turn out. Everything reconnected to ellipsism.

You’re woken up by the sound of giggling and small feet pattering across the floor. You hear a tiny voice whisper “1, 2, 3!” before your bed bounces and you’re being tickled. You playfully squirm as your eyes fly open and your two children erupt into a fit of laughter.
“Morning Mommy and Daddy!” Your 4-year-old twins smile at you and your husband.
“Good morning, Violet.” You kiss your daughter’s cheek. “Good morning, Ollie.” You ruffle your son’s hair as he lays on his father’s chest.
“Did you have a good sleep?” Rick looks down at his son.
“Yes.”
“I had a dream I was a princess!”
“A princess?” You feign amazement.
“You already are a princess, my princess.” Rick boops his daughter on the nose as she giggles.
“If I’m the princess then is Ollie the prince?”
“Yes and Mommy’s my queen.”
You playfully roll your eyes at your husband’s dramatics, but his words cause your heart to flutter.
Similarly to you, your daughter takes Rick’s every word to heart with the biggest smile on her face as she listens to her dad talk.
Both of your kids look at him like he hung the moon and watching him be with them makes your heart burst. You can’t imagine anything better than getting to watch Rick be the dad he always dreamed of being.
The past 4 years have made you happier than you ever thought possible. When it was just you and Rick, you were already so happy, but the addition of your twins just added that much more love to your life. Every day with them was like a dream, even in the darkest of times.
“What should we do today?” Rick asks the kids.
“Can we play in the snow?”
You turn your head to look at your husband who smiles up at you. “I don’t see why not.”
Your kids cheer at your answer.
“But first we have to eat breakfast.”
“Pancakes or omelettes?” Rick looks down at Oliver.
“Pancakes!”
“Alright. What color, Vi?”
“Green!”
“Why don’t you guys come to help me while Mom gets ready?”
Rick pats his son on the back wordlessly telling him to get up so they can head to the kitchen.
The twins crawl towards the edge of the bed, climbing over your legs. Rick walks around to their side and picks them both up in his arms, setting them down on the floor.
The two of you watch as your children disappear down the hallway already discussing what they’re going to do in the snow.
Rick turns to face you again, leaning down to peck you on the lips.
“Are you excited to play in the snow?” You tease your husband as he pulls away.
“Course, darlin’. You know I love beating you in snowball fights.”
“You sound a little too sure of yourself, baby. I won last year when you helped Ollie wham Violet in the face with a snowball.”
“You know I felt terrible about that.”
“I’m just teasing, Rick.” You rub his arm. “She got a pony ride out of it, didn’t she?”
“I guess.” He shrugs with a slight pout on his face.
“Now, go out there and show your kids how badass you look while flipping pancakes.”
“I used to lead a group of dangerous federal inmates and now flipping pancakes is badass?”
“That’s what you signed up for when you got me pregnant,” You shrug.
“I seem to remember you being a pretty active participant in that too.”
“Glad I was, you look ten times hotter like this.”
You give your husband a once over, admiring the way he’s changed over the past 4 years.
He pretty much gave up on intense workouts when he quit Task Force X, only going on daily jogs to stay in shape. His arms have stayed big from carrying his kids and working outside, but he’s lost his chiseled abs.
Rick was worried you wouldn’t find him attractive anymore without his ripped physique which was absurd because you thought he was even better like this. He was nicer to cuddle, no cut six pack grating against your body.
He keeps his hair a little bit longer than he used to when he was still working for ARGUS. In the winter, he grows in his facial hair. You like to tease him and call him a lumberjack, but truthfully you loved how he looked with it. You make sure to tell him all the time and pretty enthusiastically.
“You look pretty good yourself Ms. Flag.”
“In my oversized shirt and fuzzy Minnie Mouse pajama bottoms?”
Rick nods, “But you’d look even better in nothing.”
He chuckles at the look of shock that crosses your face at his statement.
“Go out there and make your kids breakfast instead of hitting on their mother!” You playfully hit his leg.
“What? I’m not allowed to hit on my wife?”
“Not at 8 am.”
Rick is about to protest before the twins holler for him. You give him a look that says “I told you so” before he leaves you to get ready for the day.
After a breakfast of green pancakes and bacon made by your husband and kids, the four of you get ready to go outside.
You help your children get into their snowsuits as you get into your own ski pants and jacket. Rick had already put his gear on and was now outside clearing a path for you with the snow blower.
You grab a hold of your children’s hands and lead them downstairs, out the garage doors, and to the backyard. The three of you wait at the edge of the house as Rick finishes plowing and puts it back in its spot.
“Let’s switch up the teams this year. Vi, you go over with Dad. Ollie, you stay here with me.”
Your daughter attempts to run towards her father, but the snow slows her down. The way she slow-motion runs in her puffy purple suit causes you and your husband to laugh.
Once Violet is by his side, he explains the simple rules you guys had come up with for your children.
Each team has a minute to make as many snowballs as they can. When the minute is over you count down from ten and then it’s on.
“What do we say if we get hurt or we want to stop?” Rick looks between his kids.
“Red!”
“Alright. Ready, set, go!”
You and your son run behind a pile of logs Rick keeps for the fireplace, using it as cover to make your snowballs.
“Do you remember how to make them?”
Oliver shakes his head no.
You gather a bunch of snow in your hands and pack it together. Make sure there’s no ice in it because that’ll hurt when you throw it.”
“Try to move your hands like this so the snow becomes ball-shaped.”
You start rotating your hands in circular motions, packing the snow until you have a perfect ball. You hold it out in your hand to show your son.
“Got it.”
The two of you begin to round out as many snowballs as you can. You’re able to make them faster, but your son picks up pretty fast.
When Rick calls out that the minute is up, the four of you begin counting down from 10. At the chant of “Go!” Everyone picks up their snowballs and begins moving around the yard, trying their best to hit one another.
You watch with amusement as your children attempt to hit each other with the snowballs. Most of their attempts are failed, but they each manage to land one or two.
Your son hits Ricks in the chest with one and giggles as your husband dramatically falls back as if the packed snow affected him.
You’re so focused on watching your children have fun with their dad, that you don’t notice Rick coming up behind you until it’s too late. A hard snowball collides with the back of your head causing you to jolt forward.
You whip around to face your attacker, but just as you do, another ball hits you in the face. The cold snow goes down the front of your jacket making you shiver. You use your gloves hand to wipe your eyes and glare at the assailant.
Your husband stands a few feet away from you, holding onto his stomach as he heartily laughs at the annoyed look on your face.
Oh, it’s on now.
You quickly pick up an arm full of snowballs and hurl one at Rick. His laughing immediately ceases when the ball smacks him in the face.
“I think you’ve forgotten that I was a pitcher on the armed forces softball team!”
A look of fear crosses his face as he suddenly realizes what he’s done.
Rick takes a moment to think over his options. You throw another snowball at him, but this time you miss as he takes off running.
You chase after him and your children giggle as Rick runs in a zig-zag pattern trying to avoid your wrath. His attempt proves unsuccessful though.
You come to a halt and track your husband’s pattern of movement. After calculating the perfect place to aim your snowball, you bring your arm back and hurl it across the yard.
The ball of snow smacks him in the back of the head with enough force to throw him off balance. Rick topples face-first into the snow with a muffled “ouch”.
“C’mon kids!” You run towards Rick and wave your children towards their father who is attempting to roll onto his back in the snow.
The twins hurry over to your side and each takes a snowball from your arms.
“3, 2, 1!”
The three of you toss the snowballs, successfully hitting Rick in the chest repeatedly as he lays still, accepting his fate.
“Red! Red! I give up!” He throws his arms up in surrender.
“Thought you would have learned by now not to mess with me.”
You chuckle as you kneel by your husband’s side to help him up. He grabs onto your arm, smirking up at you.
Suddenly, you’re being pulled down towards the ground. You let out a surprised gasp as you crash into the fluffy snow.
“Now we’re both on the ground.”
“Oh really?” You roll your eyes at the proud grin on Rick’s face.
“Doesn’t it feel nice though?” He turns on his side to look at you lovingly.
“Yes.” You admit as your twins run up to you, lying down in the snow beside you.
You spend the next hour making snow angels around the yard and building a large snowman.
The snowman, lovingly named Mr. Pickles, is complete with all the essentials. A carrot nose, a mouth, and eyes made from rocks, twig arms, Rick’s hat, and your scarf.
After playtime is over, the four of you go back inside and change into your pajamas. Rick starts a fire to help you all warm up while you make hot chocolate with the kids.
Eventually, you guys cuddle up on the couch with a pile of blankets to watch holiday movies. You lay against your husband with his arm around your shoulders holding you close. Your daughter’s head lays in your lap and your son snuggles into his father’s other side.
You sigh happily as the warmth from not only the fire but from the feeling of being surrounded by the people you love fills you with happiness. You couldn’t ask for a better life than the one you have and when you were younger you would have never imagined that the stuck-up Colonel you worked alongside would be the man to make that happen for you.
