@lolotr Here is a link for the fic because I am so bad at summaries you might not find it
I think Crystal would make a point of, at least once every few months, taking flowers to the graves of Edwin and Charles. Because she would never give them the flowers face to face and because she wants people to see their graves and now that they matter.

Whenever I listen to 'I need a hero' by Bonnie Tyler (which is surprisingly frequently) I think about an AU where Esther is able to become super powerful using Edwin as a battery, traps all of Port Townsend in a large magical bubble and turns the place into a medieval fantasy style kingdom complete with her own knights (I am imagining she grows mandrake style servants and knights because we know she has a green thumb) that Charles has to fight his way past to save Edwin.

I hope Edwin finds out that Simon moved on to his heaven. Like he finds a file the Night Nurse 'accidentally' left out that talks about it. He deserves to know how much his forgiveness helped.

As requested (by like two people):
Please forgive the fact it is trash.

I think that the Cat King probably set Edwin up. The cat that he uses magic on appeared to have been deliberately following Edwin as the second time he encounters him, it is not in the same neighbourhood and the cat seems to almost go out of his way to get Edwin's attention. It seems almost like the cat had been sent to get Edwin to do something that the Cat King could punish him for.

Every time I think about the 'The fish are washing away the runes!' line from episode 1, I have to stop myself from laughing. It is just so bizarre.

I can't stop thinking about a version of the story where instead of torturing Edwin to get power, Esther instead forces him to become her familiar, meaning Monty is cast drift and Edwin is stuck in animal form, slowly forgetting more and more about who he was as Esther's influence takes hold. And Charles is left to try to free Edwin, all the while dealing with a jealous Monty who is determined to upstage Charles in the hope being the one to save Edwin will help him win the ghost's heart.

I fully support Charles' choice to use a cricket bat but I feel like if he used a sword more often, Edwin would have been having his little gay panic montages from about month six of him knowing Charles.

I don't think they give a time of year for when Charles died but I like to imagine it is pre 9 November 1989 so Edwin and him could go to see the fall of the Berlin Wall together.

I have been wondering about this for a while so thought I would see what the census is. Because on one hand, Esther Finch has clearly at one time or another emotionally linked enough to a man to be annoyed when he cheated but also he cheated and she killed him. And the Cat King seems to be willing to ignore moral compass for the sake of desire but would he think there is anything worth pursuing between him and Esther.

Knowing that Edwin can leave Charles in the dust while running makes me really want to point out that the first time we see the boys really being chased (by the gas mask ghost in episode 1) the only time Edwin does activity leave Charles behind is when he is going to prep their mirror travel. He doesn’t get much of a lead on him at any other time, even when it would make sense for him to (e.g. when the corridor in the hotel bottlenecks with the trolley. Edwin is the one who has the trolley on his side so you have to assume he is the one who ran into it rather than simply overtaking Charles and going through the bottleneck first). In fact, the only time there they are being chased that I can remember (in fact, it is the only other time I can remember them being chased at all) is when the baby doll spider demon is chasing them and it doesn't seem like it attacks anyone but Edwin because it didn't seem to have any interest in Simon even when Simon was regularly making noise by tearing the pages so Edwin running ahead of Charles didn't put Charles in any extra danger.

I keep thinking about Charles and Edwin getting attacked by a creature that absorbs some of the energy sustaining them and the way their bodies cope is by turning them into toddlers so their body mass requires less energy to sustain. But it means Crystal and the Night Nurse are left looking after these little kids while the creature hunts them, eager to finish it's meal. (Also, I am imagining Crystal taking baby Edwin and Charles to an aquarium and Charles wants to see the sharks but Edwin is just mesmerised by everything)

It did kinda shock me that Charles didn’t do something interrogating the cats over where Edwin was that wouldn't have gotten him also punished by the Cat King.
i wish we got to see how bad charles was freaking out when edwin disappeared the first time they met the cat king. i mean edwin was gone for hours, charles was probably losing his MIND

It's so beautiful!! The Cat King looks so happy!!
I cannot draw so I am gonna need you to meet me in the middle here: imagine Edwin, standing in a cardboard box, beside the Cat King, in cat form, sitting in a different cardboard box and Edwin says something along the lines of 'I am still not sure I see the appeal'.

Given that the boys didn't immediately get eaten by Teethface when he touched them while other ghosts were dissolved by the spores could suggest that the spores are the only part of Teethface that can consume ghosts that way but I personally choose to believe that Esther specifically told Teethface to drag it out a bit for the drama. "Pull them into your mouth using tentacles. Drag them along the ground so they have chance to fruitlessly cling on to a root. Oh! Maybe gag them so we get to see their desperate farewells in their eyes!"

Been thinking a out Edwin accidentally seducing London’s Cat King by being so respectful to his cats and treating like he imagines the Cat King of Port Townsend would want him to and suddenly Edwin is left trying to deal with the advances of yet another cat king which makes Charles and the original Cat King endlessly jealous.
