gloomy I can't stress enough how bad I am at this. once we got past stats and I had to actually come up with real character things it was awful. dragged kicking and screaming through character creation. also I'm realizing as I type this how little I still have in mind for this character bc I never even decided what gender they are. we've been referring to them interchangeably as "my new cringfail losergirl oc" and "my new weird little guy"

Ume had told you to meet her at the local Boba cafe. You've been waiting fifteen minutes and still no sight of her. She's usually late though, so this isn't out of the norm.

Until you see a familiar face walk through those doors. Is that Ume's brother? You've never met him but Ume talks about him all the time, and you've seen photos of him on her social media.

He walks around the cafe, looking around as if he's looking for someone. Did Ume invite him too?

"Hey!" you wave, "Gyutaro!"

He looks at you with a scowl, "Who the hell are you?"

"I'm Ume's friend, my name's Y/N. I was supposed to meet Ume here," you smile shyly, "Were you meeting her here too?"

"Fuck," Gyutaro frowns, "No, she told me to come pick her up..." His annoyance is apparent on his face as he looks at you and realizes what's going on here. He remembers Ume showing him your photos, saying how perfect of a match you two would be. She fucking set this whole thing up.

"Do you wanna sit here with me and we can wait for her together?" You say with a bright smile, not yet realizing that this was a set up.

Gyutaro is tempted to just leave, but it's not often he gets the opportunity to have a date with a cute girl. "Sure."

He feels like he's too ugly to be sitting here with someone as pretty as you. Why would you even want a guy like him to be seen with you in the first place? He has no idea that it's because you think he's cute too.

He'll be very shy at first, and not really know what to say. But he will open up when the two of you start talking about Ume.

You'll talk and talk, not realizing that you've been there with him for a few hours until the employees have to ask you to leave because it's closing time.

Gyutaro won't tell you that his sister set this whole thing up. He'll lie and say she texted him saying she decided not to come because she wasn't feeling well.

"Oh, ok. I hope she feels better soon," you blush and look away, "I really enjoyed hanging out with you. Maybe we could do it again sometime?"

"For sure," Gyutaro doesn't hesitate to give you his phone number. He wasn't expecting things to go so well but he's so excited now that he has a chance of having something with a sweet girl like you.

Once he gets home, Ume will bombard him with questions. Asking how it went and if he likes you. He's not going to answer any of her questions, he'll just head straight to his room. But the blush on his face tells her everything she needs to know.

Maybe Ume was right all along.

Finding out someone has an immunity to Flood spores is a great development.

Master Chief may have found you by accident, amongst a Flood infection he finds a lone human.

One no doubt traumatized due to what she's seen.

Taking you in he gets you checked out by professionals in a quarantined area.

Only to find out there's no spores in you at all.

You're an anomaly, the only known case of a human or any creature being immune to The Flood.

Even AI are corrupted by the sentient pestilence.

John no doubt sees you as valuable and useful.

Although it uneases him when scientists and doctors wish to do tests on your blood and flesh.

John may be the only one you can turn to.

He saved you... he even asks about you often.

It's strange to every other human to see the Master Chief so upset over a civilian.

Yet John cares for you, to a degree even he doesn't fully understand due to him unable to comprehend romance all that much.

He just feels like he has to protect you...

Not only are you a key to fending off The Flood, but John would hate to have you affected anymore than this.

Your mental state is already failing, while John is mostly numb to this kind of thing...

Part of him finds some pity for you due to him caring about you.

Eventually when tests are done on you and samples are taken, you're sent somewhere safe to watch your mental state.

John begins to show overprotective behavior around you.

Cortana even expresses interest/concern when John keeps asking to check on you.

Cortana even senses John's hostility towards those who work on you.

John may not see you often... but he is an important figure in your life now.

He may not know how to show affection, but he allows you to hug him.

In fact... soon he gets used to the sudden display of affection.

John has a very basic view of love.

Nothing overly intimate... he just knows he has an extreme amount of care towards you.

Your immunity can help many....

Cortana has to bring rational thought back to John at times, the Spartan always thinking about you.

John doesn't plan on letting anyone hurt you... no matter what it takes...

No humans, no Covenant, and especially not The Flood...

The Arbiter/Thel 'Vadam

This is an interesting case as we're talking about Halo 2/3 Arbiter.

Thel doesn't expect to find anyone immune to the parasite.

Even the Forerunners were not immune.

So when he hears rumors of the humans having someone who has immunity... he's skeptical.

Yet when he does find you and takes you in as essentially a hostage... he notices it.

He sees there's no sign of infection, that even when fellow Sangheili convert... Infection Forms seems to be unable to touch you.

It fascinates Thel, making him want to know more.

Let's say for this it's somewhat during the Great Schism.

Thel originally wants to tell The Prophets about you.

But as he travels with you... he begins to worry about what they'll do to you.

You're immune to The Flood... but you're human.

They could easily disect you and try to make a cure out of you.

Thel dreads the thought, ironic since he and his group are holding you hostage.

Despite such a situation... Thel still treats you with decent respect.

You may be human... but you are an important asset due to your immunity.

Thel takes time to get to know you and keeps you hidden.

Other Sangheili question his intentions, but Thel simply says you can be useful.

Thel is also overly protective of you, similar to Chief.

Eventually, when he trusts you enough and learns of The Prophet's lies, he may even be possessive towards you.

Thel hasn't had thoughts like this towards anyone, let alone a human.

He definitely apologizes for taking you hostage... but he hopes now when he teams with Chief you can be allies at the very least.

Thel and Chief understand that you are important for both of their species to survive.

So you must be protected.

Perhaps Thel even keeps contact with you during Halo 3's events.

Many human researchers look after you, Thel knows that's for the best.

Yet he often visits you, despite what human doctors and scientists say.

He makes sure you aren't hurt and even gets a bit irritated if you are away for too long.

It takes so much effort to separate him from you.

Thel takes time to come to terms with his obsession.

He isn't sure how to deal with romantic feelings towards a human.

But he adapts... and vows to protect you with his life.

Regardless on if you'll see him the same or not.

Perhaps even showing signs of courting, keeping a close eye on you all the time.

He's lost many men in battle... especially to The Flood... but you're special in many ways to him...

He refuses to lose you to anything, his most precious partner (and possible mate).

ok we watched the tng pilot. let's get into it

data is my best friend on this show and i love him

i liked riker but jonathan frakes looks like a baby without facial hair. he's gotta grow that in. also, at one point he asked someone a question and i got really excited. he should ask more people more questions i think thats what jonathan frakes was born to do. that and sit in chairs with style

also liked geordi even though we only saw him for 3 seconds and worf even though same.

the sections with q draaaaaaagged. ik people like q and whatever he has going on with picard but i'm just not there yet. this "humans are NOT savages anymore" plotline has been played out in tos many times to better effect

actually shocked picard was such a dick. idk why i was expecting him to be more kind maybe i was projecting professor x onto him?? but he kinda sucked lol like what was EVEN going on w his little pissing contest with riker

love and light, there should not be children on a starship. space is fucking dangerous. they're literally boldly going where no one has gone before. these kids could get hurt

i didn't mind dr crusher until she let her kid on the bridge even though you're not supposed to do that and they told him to touch nothing and he proceeded to touch everything and then she got mad when picard got mad. picard spent 70% of this episode being a dick and the one time he was justified she was like :/ wow you're such a dick. lmao. girl come on he literally said don't touch anything he was already being nicer than he had to be. the child was in the wrong children shouldn't even be on this ship

it's weird though how many of them use first names...in tos sometimes they didn't even use last names, only titles. spock called bones "doctor" almost exclusively. so riker calling geordi geordi after like 5 minutes of knowing him was a little weird

i cried when bones showed up. sue me. his prosthetics were terrible and i already miss him so much.

overall both the adventure and the interpersonal stuff was a little ????? which is like. you can flop on one or the other. i DO have faith it will get better but i feel kind of lukewarm on it so far

there's a lot of direct counterpoints to tos, but it's shuffled JUUUST enough so it feels like it isn't copying tos's homework word for word but rewording it to trick the teacher. for example, data is like spock in that he doesn't understand emotions or whatever, but it's actually the inverse because spock understands and pretends not to, while data truly doesn't understand but wants to. then you have deanna troi who's sort of filling in for the other thing spock used to do, which is give us general impressions about unknown alien life, but she SPECIFICALLY does it through emotions so she doesn't resemble spock too much. the captain and first officer have a lot of scenes together but they're tense so it doesn't look too tempting to the slash fans. the doctor is still a bit grumpy but she's a woman this time. they don't use tricorders but geordi's special prosthetic helps them see all that shit anyway. it's tos but shuffled. lmao that it took 2 people to replace spock <3

anyway my favorite part, aside from the part bones was in, was when riker and data talked in the holodeck. and riker was like actually yeah the fact that you're a machine DOES make me uncomfortable. and data is like well i am superior but i'd like to be human actually! and you could see the little gears in riker's head turning and later he called data friend. i liked that and i love data. i love data he's very important even though the pilot wasn't good i think i would keep watching no matter what for data. and i knew it would be like that.

(Disclaimer: this isn't TOTALLY lore accurate like I had to change the way the crown works and there's a few plot holes. This is just self indulgent ok don't mind me)

In this AU, about 1,000 years ago, Simon began to realize that the effects of the crown were permanent. Despite fearing that he wouldn't be able to protect Marcy, he was even more scared that he would end up hurting her himself, so he buried the crown deep underground the moment he got the chance. The madness hadn't completely overtaken him, but he still faced some of the effects of the crown.

1,000 years later, Finn and Jake discover a crown underground, and, while Finn has no real interest in it, Jake thinks it looks cool so he puts it on. The madness doesn't affect him immediately like what happened with Simon and FW Finn because of reasons I haven't come up with yet, but after a couple weeks Finn notices that Jake is acting weird. He gradually begins forgetting things, including Finn's name, opting to call him "Gunther." (Finn thought this was hilarious at first, but Jake just kept doing it). Finn tries to take the crown away, only to discover that Jake has shapeshifted around it, so it's like attached to his head.

After Finn tries to take it by force, Jake attacks him and freezes his arm right as Finn manages to knock the crown off, and Jake is like "oh shit" and promises to not put the crown on. (They unfreeze Finn's arm with a blowdryer. Or no maybe it would be better if that was how Finn loses his arm? Idk let me dwell on that for a bit)

Anyways Jake keeps his promise for a while but eventually they have to fight a Big Bad (the Lich maybe?) and Jake nabs the crown and puts it on to protect Finn and that's basically the last straw and he becomes this universe's Ice King (I might come up w/ a different name for him considering every AU version of the crown wearer seems to have a different name, ie Snowman, Ice Prince, Winter King etc)

Ok exposition aside. So at first Finn lived on his own in the tree house but then Marcy and Simon moved in with him. BMO is also there and they take a slightly more parental role to Finn than their canon counterpart due to Jake's absence but. Keyword "slightly"

In this AU Finn is generally stronger, smarter, and more independent, but he has a bad temper, is a lot more unstable, and is far worse socially. In the same way Ice King wanted to be friends with Marcy, Ice Jake (stand-in name) still feels attachment to Finn (who he still calls Gunther). Finn keeps trying to give Ice Jake a chance but is still reeling over losing Jake so being with Ice Jake just frustrates and upsets him. He'll hang out with IJ for a day, come back home FUMING, and then give it a week or two and he'll go back to IJ, promising that he can "be cool this time" (he can't)

IJ doesn't have IK's obsession with princesses, but he is obsessed with Lady in particular, so she gets kidnapped a lot. He's also just generally a villain-esque nuisance the same way IK is.

I believe that's everything? Again totally not lore accurate it's just something I enjoy thinking about

life update :3 (a little vent-y)

sooo, been over 200 days since the house caught fire and we had to move. obviously, a lot of stuff's been happening. can't go into deep details for fear of someone I don't want to find this, finding this, but I'll say this much: FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've very rarely mentioned family on here (for obvious reasons - this account is NOT made for that lol) but here goes. tw for pretty heavy topics: mentions of abuse, father issues, health issues, transphobia & financial issues. I turned 18 Feb 21st, literally just almost 2 months before the damn house caught fire. Meanwhile, my brother's still a minor. MEANING, I narrowly escaped the custody battle my mom & dad are in. But unfortunately, he's still stuck in the middle of it. :( My pops was not really the nicest person to me when I was a kid -

whooping my ass whenever I did anything wrong, no matter how minor the offense was.

Telling me that he loved God more than he loved me, because "You're God's gift to me. God is the one who gave you to me in the first place," when I was four.

Telling me that if I didn't start being ok with receiving physical affection from family - which he knew made me uncomfortable - I was "going to grow up to be a S3R1AL K1LL3R" (yes he said that.)

Telling me that "God doesn't make mistakes," and that he "made me into a beautiful young woman for a reason" after I came out to him personally at 14 - big mistake 0/10 stars, would never do again. You get the idea. And those are the tame examples I could think of. So, I finally cut him off. As soon as my mom, brother, & I were in our new place, I blocked his number and haven't talked to him since. I was sick of him not respecting my boundaries, and repeatedly demonstrating that he thought of me as nothing more than a possession. Tired of him making me feel crazy all the time too. But now he's fucking with my mom & brother. Intentionally not paying child support till the last minute possible - & then making it in as small of payments at a time as he possibly can (yes he can afford it btw.) Trying to force my brother to go over to his place, even when my brother does NOT want to - which has begun giving my brother psychological issues & issues with school, mirroring the ones I used to struggle with bc of that bastard. My mom is juggling all sorts of things, & I really at least wanna try to help financially by getting a job, but I can't yet because: she says that I'm only 18, & shouldn't have to get a job to help out (I disagree.) I don't have an ID bc she wants me to wait on my legal name change - which costs a pretty decent chunk of change - reason is bc she "wants me to have as easy an early adulthood life as possible" (love her.) AND, I haven't actually graduated - No, I dipped in 11th bc school was hell (not exaggerating,) & instead just decided to pursue a GED, that I haven't been able to work towards bc of the shit show that is life in midwestern america. So I've been very depressed, exhausted, & hopeless. The least I can do is clean up our house while she's at work, & get this - some days I don't even have the physical energy to do THAT! I do not know what the hell is wrong with my body currently, but it absolutely sucks. & I'm really tired of just taking up space all the time. She's dealing with health issues too, & I'm always worried ab her. Idk what the hell to do, but something's gotta give. Everybody needs a fucking break. I keep trying to shoo away all the dark thoughts, push myself as often as possible, & keep my fingers crossed, but jfc... Sorry just needed to yell into the void for a sec. I'll live, I'm sure - I've survived worse. Sometimes things just suck. But I like to think that someday they won't. :,)

Assorted headcanons about Phoenix and the seven year gap because it lives rent free in my head and I must yell

-I made another post about it but Edgeworth was the first to hear about State v Enigmar and Maya was the first to see Phoenix in person after he's disbarred (and the first to meet Trucy)

-Originally Phoenix and Trucys situation was just him fostering her at first, not an immediate adoption of her, largely cause Phoenix was hoping for her sake that Zak would eventually come back to AT LEAST see her, but after like- year 2 of Zak being gone, it turned into an actual adoption of her and she legally became Trucy Wright (although she had started going by that name a few months beforehand)

-The first year for Phoenix was- Well Rough To Say The Least, he ended up getting into a l o t of fights with both Maya and Edgeworth and started really pushing them away (never in front of Trucy but she could tell something was going on) largely cause in his mindset at the time he didn't really think they understood what was going on (which he very much realized was VERY stupid considering who he was talking to) and eventually it ended in both Maya and Edgeworth staging something of an intervention and being like "hey man your being a huge dick to both of us we're trying to help you through this but also whats going on in that head", they ended up finally actually Talking and settled things for once, things got better after that! slowly yet surely

-After the bar association trial, Phoenix was the first to approach Kristoph for believing him, and that where their friendship started (Kristoph was going to just do regular ol stalking instead but decided that being "friends" with him would probably be easier here so he went with it)

- personally my least favourite interpretation of the 7yg is where Phoenix knows that kristoph was the one who framed him all along, like idk it's just not very interesting to me, it's kinda boring ghjkhlj I absolutely where people are coming from with it though but idk hgjkhl it's lame to me

- Even though Phoenix was no clue whether or not he's going to become a lawyer again and pretty much had adapted to his new life, he always has that little thought in his mind that if he becomes one again, everything in his life will get better instantly, he'll be useful again (spoiler alert, it doesn't immediately fix his life! he has Depression)

-Around year 2 was when Edgeworth started bringing over Phoenix and Trucy to Europe (in my mind he spends about half the year in Europe and Half in America), while he DID give the reason that he needed Phoenixs help with a case or two (and that wasn't an outright lie) largely he just wanted to spend time with the two of them and didn't know how else to express it, by year 5 Phoenix caught on to what he was doing and found it VERY funny, after that their trips were much less law focused

-Phoenix met Athena in Europe in Year 3 and kept in contact with her until she arrived in America, and oh BOY can she tell he is very upset

-Eventually he does go to therapy like- after DD, at the insistence of Athena and Trucy (it takes him a bit cause he's one stubborn man but he gets there eventually!)

-He started growing out his hair and realized that he did actually like this hair longer so he kept it!

-While he does not regret making Apollo use the forged ace in court, he does hope that one day they'll be able to mend things since he knows it hurt Apollo a lot, he cares about Apollo but is giving Apollo the space he needs to make that choice on his own, he's very proud of both him and Athena

-Trucy gave him her second earring so they could match! He nearly sobbed when she did that hgjkhl He did have to get his ears pierced to wear it but dw he was very brave about it

ALL im saying is if u gave me fuck u money i'd write a fanfic where, for some reason i will come up w later, katniss doesn't/can't volunteer for prim during the reaping.

so we get prim and peeta in the hunger games, hamish and effie coaching them as best they can. and prim is, ofc tiny and scared and like. 11 or whatever (i forgor ages), and peeta is like ":) ok new plan: make sure katniss gets her little sister back!" meanwhile hamish is like "do i even know a kind of self defense that works for someone the size of perhaps a small potato or large hamster????" and effie is like "oh dear lord. oh jesus. she's just solidly gonna die huh??? oh god i need a career change???" and prim, after the shock has worn off, is like "oh shit i have a sister (and mom ig) to get back to. i gotta live thru this."

so prim is like solidly understanding she's not winning against careers in combat. she focuses on any other skill she can get-- medicine to patch herself up, camouflage from peeta, shmoozing for sympathy points (with incredible success, bc she knows who she is and what she looks like), and once she meets the other tributes she manages to worm some useful info on a few things out of a few other tributes who r like "oh poor thing won't survive the cornucopia" and, most notably, she becomes besties w rue.

and so peeta plays his angle of "i just wanna get back to the girl i love uwu," but doesn't bring prim into it as katniss's sister v much bc he knows that would put a target on her back, he instead paints himself as this big ol' sap that'll be easy pickings (if you can find him) so it looks like district 12 just spat out some softies this year (everyone back home is preemptively mourning). maybe he drops one line abt "i will do anything to get prim home safe" w kinda a looking-directly-into-the-camera-kubrick-stare moment.

meanwhile prim is like "rue. bestie. it might be great for us to play our friendship to the camera a bunch? for ratings?? ppl send us things for free??" and rue is like "aight sure yea lets do it" so they do it-- and if my lesbian ass has her way maybe they have little tiny baby crushes and like. hold hands or somn. idk ceasar would play it up and soon we've got the whole capitol like 'THE BABIES OH GAWD NO' and so the star-crossed lovers thing still happens, but with prim and rue. the capitol loses it's shit, bc they're on the way younger side, with baby faces, who have been playing up how tiny and defenseless they are to anyone who will listen for clout and donations.

with a push from peeta/haymitch/effie, ceasar's little-babies-who-will-never-even-get-to-be-fully-in-love-bc-there's-no-way-they're-surviving-the-next-24-hours shtick for prim/rue gets spun wildly out of control before the games even start and suddenly the capitol is demanding the games be called off since "so many of them are so young!" at most extreme, or wondering if the minimum age for the hunger games isn't too young at most moderate.

district 13 was not ready for such a prime revolution moment to happen so quick, but they make the best of it in a somewhat disorganized way. They sway public opinion into spinning this story up, up, and away from capitol control, which eventually (through difficult to succinctly summarize PR bullshit) has everyone calling for snow to step down, and he can't very well use the cattleprods on the supposed upper crust, can he? not when every other district is already twitching for an excuse to revolt and has been for a while. so he 'gracefully' steps down (repercussions to be written in fic). district 13 is like damn they r fr handing us this one wtf.

coin(? i forgor names lol) is just barely too slow to neatly slot herself into power, bc now the capitol+districts is like "WE should get a say *insert democracy/anarcho-communism/republicanism/alt-govt.png*" idk maybe panem fractures into smaller govts that stop being affiliated w one country idk. i havent written the fic yet bc i dont have fuck u money.

what i DO know is katniss is honestly too involved in watching the games and subsequent bullshit to notice gale breathing, and peeta comes home w prim who is like 'can we go visit rue in the spring?' and katniss is like '....... u just restructured the govt...... sure yea wtvr' and peeta goes back to pining bc i just dont think he knows how to make a move when not on a death-related timeclock. maybe prim throws him a bone and wingmans him in there.

OK OK so slight ramble in coming

Vbs lost faith after the whole Taiga incident, and while they stayed friend through highschool, they did not try to surpass RW.

I feel like An and Kohane got together during highschool and stayed together, but Toya and Akito didn't, they'd just bury their own feelings.

After highschool Akito probably travelled around the world I think. In any case, he lost touch with Toya (and anhane), and when he got back he thought he couldn't (shouldn't) try to get in contact with Toya again.

Akito works at a bakery in this au. Idk it made sense to me.

Toya is a music teacher (to still keep some stuff from my dream). His reasoning is that he wants to teach kid classic music without going through the trauma he's been through, and maybe can help some kids who have been struggling like him. It's kinda healing for him as well.

Akito and Toya are just as much of idiots in this au as in canon, where they get super close again but no one dares to confess for a long time.

There is this teenage girl that keeps showing up at Akito's bakery. She wants to pursue music but her family discourages her, and when she learns Akito used to sing she's begging him to coach her. Akito has a soft spot for her even if he doesn't say it outloud.

I don't have a name for her yet, but she 100% supports Akito getting with Toya and constantly pesters him about it (she's seen his ugly breakup with his ex so she wants him to be happy, and she's also heard the numerous ramble Akito did about Toya).

Akito refuses the dad allegations, but he will (one day) accept the uncle allegations.

I'm unsure how Akito and Toya get together in this au. I kinda want it to be a "spur of the moment thing", maybe they're singing together again, maybe they're dancing, or being domestic and Akito is helping Toya cook, and one of them just goes "can I kiss you?"... you know???? smt gay

And that's all....... For now... The other stuff I got are either about the rest of the cast, or some short snippets of them talking to each other about what they've missed all those years

Babes your kind of a gardener but your not so shush also idk if I'm getting any of the dimitrescu siblings right so please tell me it's not long cause of that-

Everything sucks.

Words suck, feels suck.

At least that's what Bela insists everytime she thinks to much about confessing- something she will never do. No matter how much she wants to she can't. No matter what. The words lock in her throat before she let's out a single word- as if someone reached in and took her ability to talk, try all she can she can't verbally admit to her true feelings no matter what- So sitting afar from the window of her room, looking out down at the person tending the garden today. The one who plagues her everyday thoughts- you, the care you put in each plant carefully moving them away to pull the weeds out of the ground, a soft smile appeared on the usually stone blank look on the eldest of the siblings.

She felt different in these moments- she couldn't figure it out how- or why and for whatever reason she doesn't care to figure it out- you bring out some weird happiness out of her, she doesn't get it and probably never will. Either way, she hoped this letter will at least help explain her thought about you a bit- being open isn't Bela, she'd prefer to hide them away and stick to being the perfect daughter, the perfect example for her sisters. But she can't help her feelings- no one can- even the best, the ones best at hiding away from them. Before Bela would consider such a feeling like an annoying sickness- one she'd try to sleep away. Which she tried to before, multiple times- but now as she writes the letter as she does all the time.

She's completely ok with it.

She welcomes it

Bela Dimitrescu the eldest sister- the one everyone states is the coldest of them- taking close resemblance to their mother in that way- is 99% ok with being inlove with someone. A maid no less. Leaving the name part blank, Bela safely hid the note in her cloak pocket glancing out to make sure you were still out working she quickly buzzed off to the place she'd know you'd return to later on

The thought brought a soft smile- she felt giddy about the whole thing yet embarrassed in a way. Bela Dimitrescu eldest daughter is shy? And a secret admirer? Who would've thought. Looking down at the desk she reached in to put the note down-

"Oh sister!" A voice sang out with a giggle before a figure materialized beside the blonde knocking into her harshly- if she were human she would've fell down but luckily she wasn't. Giggling Daniela hummed looking up at her sister eyes filled with wonder- curiosity.

Something that always came with trouble with the youngest sister

"So a little birdy told me of your crush sister-!" Daniela sang cackling loudly once she saw the astonished look on the bloodied blondes face "So it IS true huh?" Before Bela could quickly yell at her for revealing that so loudly- Daniela grabbed her pulling her alongside her. "Well I'm tired of seeing you chase after a certain someone. So! As the best sister you could ever imagine having I'm going to help you!"

This was going to be a nightmare

It's been about three hours since Daniela grabbed her yanking her to the youngests bedroom. Sitting on her bed head on her hand resting in annoyance Bela watched her sister rush around her room throwing books about. Closing her eyes in thought of this mess- she missed the book hurling her way from the tossing- hitting her square in the face- opening her eyes she glared at the back of her sister's head. Rubbing her face she grumbled

"What the hell are you doing Daniela"

"Well-" Daniela hummed looking to the side in thought "Your letters are good yeah- but there going nowhere. Like? Your last one? "You make me happy even when you dont know it." Thats. Cliché Bela. Very Cliché" huming in thought she tossed a book hitting the bedside as she dug further down into the huge pile of books "how about woeing them? Like flirting" taking a book from under her bed she let out a "aha!" Once she read the title "like in here! The main characters crush flirted with some perfect lines then confessed-!" Quickly rushing towards Bela- the book thrusted into her hands. "Try and read these. Hopefully they'll help!" With that Daniela turned and rushed around again- digging around for- whatever it was shes looking for now

Turning the book around- Bela raised an eyebrow in light confusion. Sighing softly she opened it and began to read- it wouldn't hurt to at least try this way.

Walking down the hallway Bela held a smirk- a nervous but confident one. If what the book stated was try- then it would he a walk in the park. She just needs to execute the words right just like how the romantic interest did to the main character. Then you'll both start to date- should totally be easy. Bela has got this.

Yup- she's not nervous or thinking this plan of following some weird ass books plot would work in any other context.

"You got this Sister!" Daniela cackled loudly skipping a bit by her side. Daniela wanted to see this romance play out in front of her eyes. Something romantic yet something to hold over another sister of theirs head for a while. Smirking at the thought of what'd happen she hoped it go well.

Bela deserves to be happy no matter what she herself says.

Opening the door to the room- Bela froze- the nerves shot out all at once. She can't do this. Can't say some stupid flirty line while you worked not only is it bad timing in multiple ways but- she's a Dimitrescu and your a maid. A worker-how'd that even work? Scanning around the room for you she stopped once she spotted you- kneeling down as you cleaned the dust from the legs of a table.

Bela's feet worked on autopilot. She walked towards your kneeling form like she knew what she was doing- she didn't but you didn't need to know that. Stopping right beside you catching your attention- smiling up at her in confusion Bela gulped the words sprung out from her before she could stop and decide on what to say

"Well, don't you look delicious" Bela smirked leaning against the counter you were just cleaning in an attempt to be flirty

You blinked- confusion written on your face at her statement. Bela's face went a deep shade of red in embarrassment. Of what she said- delicious? Of all things. She eats maids. You are a maid. "No- wait that's not what I meant I'm not going to eat you" she quickly attempted to take her words back- to change it to something charming but no she instead panics on how she comments on how appetizing you look to her. Panicking even more once she saw you stand and take a step back- this wasn't what she planned to do

She wanted to nothing more then jump out into the cold- flirting is not her talent. Woeing isn't either given how you taken her failed flirty compliment. The loud laughter from her youngest sister in the background wasn't helping either. Nor was the concerned look you had- worried about her as you usually did. The weirdly comforting look in your eyes- the warmth. The buzz in her throat went off as she came to an even startling conclusion.

Everytime she looks at you- everything your eyes meet, the laughter she hears when you try to be quiet. She felt more alive then she ever has once she figured it out- you make her feel human. Like she isn't a monster. When in reality she is. A cruel monster- yet you never saw her that way never treated her like she was. You treated her like she was a normal human girl. She fell more inlove with you and she can't help it- can't stop it. Not like she would of course.

"I'm fine- thank you" patting your hand that wemt to hold hers, she could hear you ask her again- but she ignored it- Bela turned and quickly left slowly thinking of a new letter to write for you- and to cool down. Confessing as of right now is off the table is the final thing she decided once she finally sat down at her table. Taking a pen and paper out. She took a deep breath before she started to write down her inner thoughts

Words outright never work.

Never has- probably never will

For now though- until she works up the courage. She'll love you in silence-

so pov you're me circa feburary 2022, currently unaware of the kzb manga ending or sequels because you got into sk 6 months ago and the 2021 anime isn't over yet. you're innocently googling your girl jeanne for idk drawing references or whatever and BOOM autocomplete drops the most confusing spoiler of all time on you

that's how I remember finding out renmei exists, and at the time I'm pretty sure I was like "oh this must just be a popular het pairing from the Olden Days or something it'd be ridiculous if that was-" it was it was canon. cue a terrible amount of suffering april 21st 2022 when episode 52 of the new anime aired and it was what it is

of course I was upset but in an attempt to not be That One Annoying Fandom Person I sat down and thought about it and gave the concept the benefit of the doubt for a bit and now I have a pretty solid idea of how I feel about it. my renmei thesis is basically:

basically if it was actually written properly I think we could have gotten some cool things out of a romantic relationship between these two characters. however

part b: we didn't

my favourite way to describe renmei is that it just wasn't written. because it wasn't. across over 300 chapters of mainline and spinoff manga they have maybe four interactions, three of which were after they were already a couple (and the fourth one is that time she raised him from the dead and they didn't speak. does that really even count?). and those three actual interactions were flashbacks and not... actually important. I think one of them was just about cheese. as a reader your experience is

2 characters who never interacted -> literally what the fuck when did that happen -> she's DEAD???

when my friend was reading the manga I had to tell her to reread a scene because the panel where they explain it is such a blink-and-you-miss-it moment

literally the same pacing and payoff as CANON DESTIEL.

their entire actual relationship happens during the downtime between the main manga ending and the sequels beginning. and I'm going to bring osp into this because I think this graphic is helpful

(side note as I was scrolling through this trope talk I noticed a problem red brings up that does apply to the sk sequels but that's for another post...)

this is from the osp trope talk on sequels, and it shows the difference in Stuff Happening levels between plot time (red) and down time (grey). the issue with renmei is that it is an IMPORTANT PLOT EVENT (two characters with little interaction having an entire love story) that happens during DOWN TIME, when the audience only sees things through flashbacks in snippets. and it doesn't help that we never get any flashbacks to before the event happened, before they got together. it's jarring because the ENTIRE THING happens during down time. plot time 1 (the main manga) ends with no interactions between them, and ONE scene that's supposed to set ren up for getting Straight Married that in my opinion didn't work. because it is stupid. plot time 2 (every sequel manga) starts after jeanne's death. it's literally the inciting incident for red crimson. their entire 7+ year relationship is encapsulated in foggy down time, and we're expected to care.

and this especially doesn't work because we aren't set up to care. again, 1 interaction in the main manga, where they don't talk (but I will go to bat for the inherent intimacy of raising someone from the dead like we could have done something there). it's pretty clear to me from rereading the manga that takei didn't know these two would get together when he was writing it. that one scene I mentioned where he tries to set up ren getting Straight Married? if you've read it you know it's incredibly vague and with how takei wrote literally everything else it sure doesn't work as intended. or I'm too aromantic and yaoipilled to understand his literary genius idk. it's clear from some other missed opportunities that the jeanne part of the equation wasn't exactly planned from the beginning. which is even more insulting tbh

part c jeanne character assassination: out of the both of them jeanne really got the short end of the stick in terms of characterization in the sequels. I say this because I actually really like ren in the sequels I like the way takei took his character, so holy shit does sequels jeanne look even worse in comparison. the whole housewife thing is eeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhh, not really a fan of that but I'm also not mad enough to comment. her death I do have some thoughts about. conceptually the beheading herself with shamash thing is BADASS AS HELL and I do like it conceptually, I also know like, the themes. yeah remember that time "atoning for your crimes with your death isn't the right thing to do" was an important part of the plot. TWICE. FUCK THAT I GUESS. there is some equivalent exchange bullshit happening with these two and the continuation of main manga themes and I want it to stop please

part d tao men: one thing I've thought about a lot is Why. why fumble this so badly. why do this at all. what do we get out of this. and the answer is an inciting incident and tao men. and the fumble bag continues because tao men deserved better this is a tao men appreciation account. we could have done some cool shit with his revenge thing but nope fuck that I guess. poor guy

part e contrast: so the sequel manga where renmei is most relevant is red crimson. I absolutely love red crimson I recommend it to everyone. and that's because of jun and pairon (and chapter 9 full transparency). jun and pairon in red crimson have one of the most beautiful relationships I've ever seen. they have an established dynamic and baggage to work through and that's what the manga focuses on. and it works it works really well. however this is also the Renmei Manga, and having most of that stuff right next to jun and pairon just makes it look worse

Watched Chess Netherlands today because... well, I can 🙃 It was surprisingly not all horrible. Definitely flawed and problematic but it had some parts I really liked! Of course I had lots of thoughts again so here is me venting them. 99% sure no one else cares about Dutch Chess but what the hell, tumblr is for screaming into the void right? ✨️

Act I

- You can instantly tell this is a Dutch production because the championships take place in what looks like a school gym. I mean we do our rubiks cube tournaments there. Is fine for chess, no?

- Explaining chess to the audience bc that's what the show is really missing

- Many Svenska Vibes

- Anatoly with an i is the most Dutch Soviet Russian i've ever met. Just, no nonsense. 'go take care of my children woman.' Calling each other names is how we show affection <3

- I will say the boys (Anatoli's kids) playing chess during the opening is a nice touch

- Story of Chess also has very to the point lyrics. "chess requires reticence so u don't kill each other" see now this actually sets up the show real well :)

- Awkward humor no one laughs at ✅️

- Anatoli's kind of a downer

- Freddie's sort of charming but his relationship with Florence is gonna be garbage i can tell

- strike 1: ableism

- (honestly he just reminds me of every Dutch white guy on tv)

- Florence is already so done with his shit good for her

- Actually on second thought i think the chess game might be better without the dancing. Characters are doing interesting things. The contrast between Anatoli sitting stiffly at the table while Freddie is prancing around fistfighting the cameras is Most Amusing :)

- Did he just try to make Anatoli's move for him omg 🤣

- Freddie @ arbiter "uh it might be time u keep things under control around here" and off he runs HE'S SUCH A LITTLE SHIT ngl i kinda love him here

- However Florence's defense of him just seems completely unreasonable considering toli literally just. sat there. the whole time.

- Anatolyi gets the 'i'm ridiculous' monologue like in Svenska

- 'Hey my people killed your people oops now let me sing a song in the language you probably don't remember and it's somehow romantic and not creepy or overstepping any boundaries at all :)'

- Running away from Molokov in a shittier version of Svenska. Meh. But again they are aware of the lack of embassies in and around Merano which I do appreciate bc i'm pedantic like that

- Freddie: hey what's she doing with that Russian

Freddie: hmmm idk

Freddie: they're definitely talking abt me tho 🤨

- Flo & toli have a healthy conversation about the fact that he just left his kids behind i support that!!

- However this timing/setting for Anthem sucks. He's just singing it to Florence. And it's literally about how he misses his family? Weak. This needs to be an epic declaration of love for his homeland to all the world not whining to your girlfriend. Ugh can't believe they fucking ruined Anthem!

- So far all of this strikes me as discount Svenska but without the investment in Flonatoly and the only thing it's really got going for it is a handful of good lines BUT we'll see about act 2...

Act II

- Why the fuck would you start your second act with Merchandisers?

- Nice audience interaction though, it doesn't completely not work

- But following it up with Heaven Help My Heart is hmmmmmm really not ideal pacing-wise.

- Freddie's woman verse is even more cringe in Dutch i can't accurately translate it but it's so..... yikes..... The word he uses instead of "woman" ("popje") literally means "little doll/puppet" (but with slightly different connotations). It's sometimes used as a term of endearment but in this scene it is very much derogatory and ew.

- "here I stand wondering / if I ever knew you / have I ever really known who you are?" I like this translation!

- Pity the Child pulls no punches (does it ever?) He's so pathetic, he's such an asshole, and as a teacher I weirdly feel this one (at one point he talks about how no one ever noticed him at school either and just... oof don't get me started). Also the desperate rapid-fire chess game he plays against himself in the musical break and during the final verse--that needs to be in more versions holy fuck go watch this bit it's GOOD!!

- The Deal but without a political angle. Fascinating.

- No

- no. no no no i hate this i hate this Freddie wouldn't sacrifice his game not even for Florence NO. CANCELED.

- Interestingly instead of honey/parner, Freddie uses the same word as in the woman verse when he's talking to Florence during The Deal but this time it's the endearment variant. That's a little bit problematic.

- Molokov's plan is still to bring Flo and Sveta together even though Anatoli is now supposed to win 🤷‍♂️

- Anatoli casually downs several shots of liquor (vodka?) during Soviet Machine. not sure this will help him win the game but at least he sleeps through Russian Guy screaming that final whoooooooo high note in his ear

- Florence tests Freddie's chair... demands they bring a different one... is she still working for him? idk. I'm guessing it's meant to be sweet but it just looks silly to me idk

- Fuck reverse I Know Him So Well honestly. "he wants me / no he wants me" boo fucking hoo. You two deserve each other.

- Oh! Oh! Talking Chess, yay! 😁

- Gosh this is actually really cute?!? Freddie literally just came to discuss this random chess gambit he came across and thought was interesting? Nothing even to do with their current game just 'hey found this thing i thought you might like and i like and can we be friends now i really like chess 😶'

- Unlike in Svenska and RAH, I actually don't know for sure who is going to win this game. They do a good job of making this really about chess in the end. I like it.

- Freddie reminding toli it's about chess even during their match now that is the freddie i came to see!

- He calmly sips his water as Sveta and Florence are physically removed from the premises

- It is Quite Unfortunate that this production hates women...

- Really they seem to only be here to get in the men's way. Ugh.

- I don't support any of the relationships except Freddie and Toli being pen pals and playing long distance chess for the rest of their lives.

- Ending feels a little OOC but still nice to see some healthy Freddie & Flo interaction for once 😌

tldr; not the worst production out there, worth watching if you've already seen Svenska and don't mind Freddie being the most likeable character. (okay likeable is not the right word he sucks but, you know. He reminds me of RAH Freddie but slightly more yike.) PTC and Talking Chess are highlights!

What's up guys...😈This is MY first post on this account, and although I may not be as detailed as Bookworm who posted the MK1 post, I am here to rant and share how I feel about my current fixations. WOO!

Today I am writing about Miraculous ladybug (guys...don't judge me help...) AND HOW CRAZY SEASON 5 HAS BEEN HELLO???!! I did NOT. and I mean NOT expect season 5 to be as bombastic, as dastardly, as ridiculously crazy as this. AND this is why I am writing about it today, also because I feel like It's time for someone other than Bookworm to post as well, wouldn't want Worm over there to feel lonely! Heh...heh...heh

ALRIGHT, so let's start off with how the theory about ADRIEN being a senti-monster is POPPING OFF ALL OVER the Miraculous ladybug fandom (yes I am a little bit late I apologise), and this is because of season 5 episode 24, Representation, and other hints in the season.

In this episode we first start off with Adrien, who is looking very sad and lonely... 😱In London, since his father forced him to go to London for his future studies. Lately, Adrien has started to disobey his father, AND THAT IS A GOOD THING! However, the fact is, whenever he tries to do something he really wants to and his father doesn't want him pursuing it, he tries to stand up to him but it's strange because Gabriele decides EVERYTHING for him. From, his career, his friends, his school, everything. And Adrien can't disobey him when Gabriele 'commands' him to do something. But despite this, Adrien has grown so much over the past couple seasons and he has tried to hard to have a life of his own without anyone controlling him.

Now, we obviously understand now that Felix, Adrien's weirdly identical cousin is a sentimonster, or a senti-human if that makes sense. I DONT know much about what's going with senti-monsters and stuff it's too confusing bye. ANYWAY so In this episode Kagami and Adrien do a little play for Marinette, who is heart-broken that Adrien had to leave for London. AND BTW, I hate how Felix took advantage of her by pretending to be Adrien like let the girl rest for a second. So they do the play and BOOM a huge secret has been revealed to the whole community and we learn that Felix is a senti-monster human little baby and Adrien is...well, I don't really know.

(From season 5 episode 24)

In this scene, the play states how Felix's father wanted his wife, who is Emilie's sister (ok Ik this is confusing AND IDK IF IM SPELLING THE NAMES RIGHT but u guys know who is who.) to have a child as well. Not just Emilie, who at the time, was pregnant with Adrien, after wishing for a child for so long with Gabriele. Felix's father confronts Gabriele in jealously and anger. However, Emilie felt bad for her sister and wanted Gabriele to do something, to bring a miracle to her sister and her sister's husband just as she was gifted with a miracle. Gabriele confronts Felix's father and says, 'After much studying, I have discovered a solution for you and your wife.' And he offers the peacock miraculous to Felix's father, who hesitated but accepted it in the end. And that is how Felix was born. So, it's safe to say that Adrien could have also been a gift from the peacock miraculous, yet it's hard to make sense from all this and everything is confusing but the answer is right in-front of us. It is also evident that Kagami is a senti-monster/senti-human, since Felix states how they are the same, just like how Adrien and he are the same.

Also, the peacock background behind Emilie when she was pregnant with Adrien carries symbolism, this scene enforces the theory that perhaps she used the Peacock miraculous to finally have a child, and that child would be Adrien Agreste.

No wonder they all suffer from horrible parents, because their lives were never their own, even from the beginning.

ALSO THE STUFF GOING ON WITH LYLA/CERISE IS CRAZY GUYS. First of all, she isn't just a liar, BUT HER HAIR IS A LIE TOO? HELP? THE HAIR REVEAL WAS A SHOCK. But I won't lie she kinda slays the short hair look, IM NOT ON HER SIDE GUYS IM JUST SAYING.

But yeah, Miraculous ladybug has been super crazy and all over the place lately, I haven't even finished this season yet! But I am looking forward to seeing Lyla as the new villain, (or is she)? Who knows, guess I'll just have to finish watching. A little worried about Adrien but I have faith that he will be alright...heh...heh...Adrien....Heh...WHAT WHO SAID THAT!

viserys didnt die yet and still being the king

he is rhaenyras stepfather so she can marry daemon with "no problem" and shes the heir of the iron throne

the line of succession to the throne would be: rhaenyra, jacaerys, lucerys, joffrey, aegon and viserys (idk whos the eldest), aegon, helaena, aemond and finally daeron

even though aegon is the 7th in the line of succession, he acts as if he were the first, which is unbearable most of the time

helaena on the other hand, doesn't care about royal duties as much as her siblings do 🤷🏻

they have the same hair as in the show, prove me wrong

aegon is a womanizer and everyone knows that, takes advantage of his title as prince to fuck girls (and even professors when he needs high grades 😶

helaena ALWAYS has high grades, she (try) helps her classmates when they're down in a subject but doesn't really have any friends, maybe 1 or 2 who are "close"

bc of that she stays more with aemond or with baela and rhaena

she is the quiet girl in the class, drawing random things in her notebook, sit next the window not too far forward and not too far back

while aegon is a total disaster - he sits with his little group at the back of the class and talks the whole class (idk if students still get sent to co-ordination for bad behavior in college, but if they are, he would definitely go at least 5 times a week

if he decides to study, he will give up after 2 minutes and the rest of the time, he is disturbing the class
