Like I was gonna draw the League of Villains in the Death Parade pose and not do more fanart from other stills of the opening number? In the words of the Holy Sword Excalibur, "Fools!"

Also, Castra does not appear in the original seven, so I added Fuyumi as the Vanguard's honorary member.

This seems to have become the theme for the Ambush Simulation comic, which is odd because I took no inspiration from Death Parade when I started writing this fic...the story itself was inspired by a Soul Eater episode...ah well, Death Parade has the most misleading anime opening ever, so maybe it fits.

Anyway, be sure to check out Ambush Simulation if you get the chance. Chapter 2 is up now. If you're new, it's an alternate universe where the LoV are a group of vigilantes running an attack simulation on UA's summer camp. It's a bit Todoroki family-centric, but there's some focus on Toga's quest for healthy relationships and wholesome uncle-nephew vibes with Tenko and All Might. Oh, and Dadzawa, of course.

Happy Audio Drama Sunday!! When I was a non-teacher adult I thought to myself, surely as a child I exaggerated the desperate need for summer break. Now that I am a teacher adult, I can admit that I was. Wrong. I need a break, but luckily I have time for this.

Here's what I listened to this week!

@ourstoriedinsight's season finale was this week and wow. Wow. The way this show so effortlessly dances on ideas of trust, truth, and ethics while telling a story of four (five? Sir George count?) ridiculous and reluctant heroes who have only a dead friend in common is staggering. This episode especially, as you can see how they really drew together against (and then with) Sage. I love them, your honor. And I would also let Rain be my lawyer. Everyone listen to Our Storied Insight.

Jeez louise @camlannpod, can you give a girl a break? I am so glad Gwaine’s okay, and I’m fascinated by the mistrust Peredur has for him, even after they tried to track him over hill and dale. And I am SO worried about what's about to happen next. I wonder what Dai's going to do about it. I wonder if he'll do anything (please, Dai, do something).

This week's episode of Josie’s Lonely Hearts Club had me rolling. Look, I knew the title going in ("It's French for A Horny Party") and I still cackled when the line appeared in the episode. Josie, I hope you continue changing for the better. Also it inspired me to make beans and rice for dinner and that was a wild success.

When Karim Kronfli showed up at the beginning of the season of Among the Stars and Bones, I was excited, but holy heck. The performances in this show. Oh, right, and the twist at the end--you know, I really should have expected things to get a million times worse, based on how last season went, but this is a MILLION times worse. How are they gonna get out of this one folks???

@keepitsteadypod KEEP IT STEADY IS BACK KEEP IT STEADY MY BELOVED. Things are REALLY going places between Zach and Gabe now and neither of them know it. I love high schoolers, they're so dumb. Admit you like each other, dummies. Shoutout to our great good school nurse trying to fight for kids, and I thought the reveal about Zach's past was remarkably done. I love this show.

In relistening news, Life with Althaar again (what's up, @geminicollisionworks!). I rarely relisten to shows, but this one is worth my while every time. Listen to Life with Althaar, a silly space sitcom that gets Not So Silly when the story decides to commit to the bit. Althaar, I would die for you.

Inn Between is truckin right along with 5.9 this week, which I found absolutely delicious to watch the actors bring to life. It’ll be outdone only by the episode next week. In zombie news, boy oh boy, this week we're doing some recording for The Dead that I'm very worried about but ready for the challenge of. It involves directing singers in a language I do not speak! Lol pray for me. If I can make it til school ends, maybe I'll have some other news as well! Keep a weather eye out.

Prophet WIP

Hundreds of years after the six gods' potential death, a single prophet is born. When his twin brother is possessed by a holy sickness, a race begins to preserve or destroy the last relics of dead divinity, and refuse or give forgiveness for errors of the past.

Starring!

Theodore Novak (Theo): the prophet. Desperately does not want to be a prophet. A nervous wreck most of the time, becomes a little strange when he grows comfortable around you. Has not seen his brother for almost a year, and eager to apologise for previous cruelties.

Cain Kavon: The brother, and vessel to the Blight. Controlled by his anger, and by having his mind changed around him. Schizophrenic, and suffered from his brother unknowingly encouraging a delusion to dangerous levels in the past. Prideful and headstrong and terrified thrilled to now belong to the Blight.

The Blight: The divine sickness. Sourced from human anger and frustration at the gods. Recently escaped the trap the final god put it in, weakened and needing something to reside in as it gains power again. Exploits others anger and frustration to get what it wants.

Raya Glick: The student. Provided a place for Theo to go to when he was asked to leave home, and uses him as an assistant to her history PhD on exactly what happened to the gods. From an orthodox temple background. Drives around the country in a van, investigating the gods current forms. Straightforward and non-nonsense.

Featuring the complexities of brotherhood, the thin line between “prophet” and “schizophrenic”, a divine and glorious anger and a desperate attempt to reach someone who may already be lost to you.

i think i’ve learned a lot when it comes to not applying my own values to the media i consume

for my script analysis class yesterday, we discussed two gentleman from verona, and nearly every classmate of mine was up in arms about how sexist the story is.

and i'm not saying it's not, or that it's not infuriating to read. but i'm also not putting my energy into getting upset about something written 500 or so years ago. and i'm not about to put my own beliefs onto these characters that are not me. i'm going to let their choices speak for themselves, and interpret it in the context of the story.

all that said, this now brings me to the point of alastor in episode 5, and how viscerally people are responding to it. those of you up in arms about the choices he’s making, and the violent threat he gave husk, you’re missing the entire point of his character, of this place they’re in, of the story being told. he’s an overlord, and he became an overlord by killing much bigger overlords and broadcasting their deaths over the radio.

HE IS NOT A GOOD PERSON.

if you started this show with the belief that every character working the hotel is a good person, you’re in the wrong place. watch the good place if you’re looking for a good wholesome story about getting dead sinners into heaven, because that’s not what this show is about.

you’re more than welcome to hate him after seeing the way he exerted power over a being whose soul he owns, but you’re doing the media you’re watching a disservice by writing it off so quickly. if you don’t like to be uncomfortable watching media, watch something else. this is an uncomfortable show, it handles uncomfortable topics, and it’s going to be an uncomfortable ride, and if you’re not up for something like that, then you should take a break from it and pick up something else. you don’t have to get online and defend your own ideals while you watch a show that goes against your ideals.

#hazbin hotel spoilers #that’s not even touching on the fact that husk was an overlord too #he also owned souls that he used as currency to supply his gambling addiction #he’s also not a good person!!#the majority of these characters are in hell for a reason: they’re not good people #i quite frankly love the way this show blurs the lines between good and evil #our heroes are sinners and overlords and demons. while the enemies are angels. but that doesn’t mean our heroes are good people.#you HAAAVE to come to terms with that!! you have to stop seeing the world in black and white or you’re not going to survive this world #if you’re upset because alastor was cruel to husk fine! be upset! but explore why you’re taking yourself out of that world.#in this world sinners own other people. there’s no ifs ands or buts #‘oh alastor is a poc why would he own people’ he was a serial killer when he was alive do you really think you can apply your values to that #(and this is me speaking as a poc. specifically a mixed race poc.)#i cannot speak to who vivzie is as a person. but i’m interested in the message she’s writing and thus far i’m finding it compelling #it’s a similar story as the good place but it’s going the distance to explore even worse people than those in the good place #i don’t think it’s responsible to write something off just because unsavory things happen in it.#and she’s giving us so many different types of representation that don’t involve race (although we’re also getting a lot of hispanic rep)#just like cool your jets and maybe process some of the anger you’re feeling. and maybe nothing will change.#but if you act. instead of react. if you understand why you’re feeling some type of way and then make a choice.#that’s so much stronger and more responsible than reacting and not thinking anything through #hazbin hotel #alastor #husk #hazbin alastor #hazbin husk #anyway let me get off my soapbox #long post

ive played dao like 9 times at this point and still. and STILL the isolde/connor decision has me tearing my hair out gnawing my keyboard stomping around the house ready to lie down and never get up

#tay plays dao #in saying all that: i had an epiphany and im now at peace with elspeth killing this kid :) JKFJGKFG #I HATEEEEE IT I HATE THIS CHOUICE. AND YET. AND YETTTT #oc: elspeth #sigh. the things we do for rp........#so my reasoning is : she's the most moral/lawful/goody-good character you can find and lawful good in the truest sense of the term #so blood magic just isnt an option for her #also she does lothering > circle > redcliffe so she's seen what blood magic is capable of and its way too fresh in her mind #and as a noble with literally zero experience or understanding of magic... what shes seen of blood magic is SO bad she isnt abt to risk it #(i also dismiss the circle mages option outright because she wont risk redcliffe and the castle all dying while shes out wasting time)#but still its like... when she walks into that room prior to making the Choice she's so ADAMANT that she wont be killing a child #and upon leaving she still feels that way. again she doesnt rly know that much about demons so shes still like ok maybe i can just #incapacitate him?? reason with him??#bc thats what would happen to a hero in a story. they would find a way. there would be a happy ending. and she believes in happy endings #and she rly does see herself as the hero lol.#and then it doesnt happen and shes forced to make the choice and it absolutely destroys her sense of self. bc heroes dont DO that #and the story wasnt supposed to turn out this way !!!!!! and realizing this isnt some story and shes actually going to have to do #Horrific things. its a turning point for her #also a turning point for alistair and her relationship w him. bc he'd also put her on a pedastal this whole time #and now hes like. oh. all that honor and bravado is just something youre making up as you go huh #and then they have to get to know each other as flawed complicated people. not just.... ideals that they created of each other???#WHEW. THIS IS LONG. SORRY.#DRAGON AGE SEASON BABEY LETS FUCKING GO LOL

I can see how the regional phenomena in totk is basically totk's version of a modern 4 horsemen of the apocalypse: pollution (the sludge), addiction (marbled rock roast), climate change (the extreme blizzard; admittedly this one is a bit of a stretch), and pestilence/infectious disease (the giant mosquito boss and the undead gibdo). Which, hey, references to real life issues, great, but what I didn't like so much was how you can just solve puzzles and fight bosses--basically have a handful of big name heroes running around doing tasks--and the water will magically clear up, the addicts will magically become normal people again, the extreme storms will magically dissipate, and the pestilence will magically disappear. Real life does not work that way. I know, I know, it's a game why you taking it so seriously blah blah, but I'm just saying, we have to remember that for any of these problems to be solved, it takes a lot of effort and cooperation from a lot of people to accomplish, and that's definitely an understatement.

#totk spoilers #:P #i haven't played many other zelda games so i can't say #but botw and totk are basically the Great Man Theory #aka 'we only need a few big heroes to save the day and nobody else's input is worth much'#maybe I'm too nitpicky or maybe I'm too old to suspend my disbelief entirely #something about that just doesn't quite sit right with me :P #doesn't mean the game is bad but just my thoughts #and let me add that genshin is also kind of a Great Man Theory sort of game on the surface #but in genshin the story itself actually does challenge that idea in many different places #whereas in botw and totk nothing about that logic is even questioned #you are expected to just accept that 'oh the hero defeated the bad guys and now the problems magically went away'#and since we are talking about real life issues this approach is honestly incredibly lazy #basically the same as 'if everyone can drive less (aka be a hero!) then we can reduce emissions and save the environment!'#while completely ignoring how driving is basically essential to life in the greatest country on earth (tm)#bc of urban planning lack of effective public transportation systems and lobbyists #it's a systemic problem and it's not going to be solved by being heroes or eating the rich #in conclusion: if you want to put real life issues in your game please don't be lazy with it #and if you want the traditional hero vs big bad thing then please stay away from real life issues #this is part of the reason why botw is better than totk

also this master has such a flair for show, for performance. i guess they always do but i feel it way more with him. first o: “look at all the evidence i gathered, and they just mocked me 🥺”

and on the eiffel tower: “not sure how to describe what i found. pulverised? burned? nuked? all of the above. someone destroyed it. our home, razed to the ground. everyone killed.... everything burned.....”

then the timeless children being this entire show and tell with the doctor as audience

it’s interesting bc im only really familiar with modern masters and like, simm!master plays it up for sure but hes in no way this controlled about it. and missy is,,,,i get the feeling with missy that she isnt sure herself when shes acting and when she isnt. the line between artifice and authenticity dissolves with her and in her interactions with other people, especially the doctor: ”maybe youre trying to impress me”

but dhawan!master is their synthesis and it shows so beautifully. he will act, especially to the doctor, he will play parts he knows she likes, but he never loses sight of his own emotional reality. he takes the stage to play and he doesnt when hes off. maybe he even plays the parts he knows she likes ironically. self-aware, other-self-aware. more aware than she is.

and she doesnt buy this, of course

but it’s the wrong part she doesnt buy. his emotions about it were feigned, not the events themselves (which is interesting in terms of this being post the doctor falls but i dont know what to make of that yet; im sorta leaning to just like, general overcorrection/her understanding of him and their relationship is a lot less nuanced than his. The Master Lies, with no abilty to maybe differentiate between different kind of things he could be lying about for different reasons. but maybe im underestimating the doctor)

anyway tldr i think because of the vault this master has a very complex understanding of his relationship with the doctor and their relationships to their own identities, i think he understands it better or more consciously than the doctor does at this point, which allows him to play his own identity self-aware and ironically whereas the doctor is still dead serious

#that post i made once where i was like the master is camp? yeah #the master about his identity & relationship with the doctor rn is like oh this is fucking hilarious #i just find his grasp on himself and on thoschei so interesting #like hes definitely a level or two up from the doctor #maybe the doctor will get there in the next regeneration?#might be interesting to watch bc like #The Doctor as a character must also keep its position of like a hero we want to emulate #but id ont think it's impossible to make the doctor re-evaluate their identity in this way #would make The Doctor as hero we want to emulate also gain more layers i think #i dont think it's impossible at all i think it'd be a good story #give the doctor a vault arc 2023

Hi moth!! You can call me tetra. Don't worry that's not my real name or anything tho. I took it from the concept of tetrachords in music.

If we're generous about what we call superheroes, then maybe most of the things I like are superhero based. I mean obviously there's marvel and dc, but then there's stuff like dpxdc, sonic the hedgehog (idk if I've ever heard him called a superhero but he kinda is), if we count magical girls then like. Sailor moon and madoka magica

I haven't seen any episodes of good omens, but I read a really good fanfic of Crowley going to therapy a while back, and a couple funny ones with like yelp reviews of Aziraphale's bookstore. Plus I love the good omens analysis posts on here. I feel like maybe I half know some of what's happened in the show but also probably haven't scratched the surface. I'm kinda bad at watching TV shows, so there's a lot of stuff that I know from fandom but haven't seen. For another example of that, I've only watched one or two episodes of Sonic Prime. I reblog posts for it and it sounds good but idk. Just bad at it.

I'm a much more casual fan of musicals, I think for the same thing as above where I just struggle to sit and watch something on purpose. But I listen to the music from them sometimes, I've read transcripts online of a couple, and i swoon whenever I see a post analyzing the meaning of a musical song, especially when they go beyond lyrics and start going into the music theory in the tune. I don't have the skills or knowledge to do that myself but I love it so much

(when the singer changes their technique to enhance the meaning,, when this or that chord is a step outside the key to symbolize change or isolation or anything,,, using instruments as symbols for this or that character,,, tbh it doesn't have to be a musical even shout out to that youtube video by Scruffy on how fnaf's audio and sound effects make it scarier)

Lately I've been bouncing back and forth between Sonic and DPxDC. With hints of Slay The Princess in there bc I saw part of a playthrough of that awhile ago and loved the concept. I reblog madoka magica stuff whenever I see it (except magia record bc I know next to nothing about it) because that stuff makes me lose my mind. The love the pain the hope the despair!! Homura is probably like my ultimate blorbo but I love all the five girls they're so cool. I actually read the manga instead of watching the show though so I'm not as familiar with all the music. Plus I think the show had some extra scenes. Although it's a little confusing bc I think some of the extra scenes I see are magia record so idk.

Also I'm a fan of arts and crafts and will reblog that kind of thing once in a while, along with cute cat stuff.

#thinking abiut this rn because i was wondering if theres any particular saints he likes but i think it was kicked off by when i was thinkin #g earlier today about. well i was thinking about heroes again. specifically about the men he grew up around and didnt want to be like and t #he places he looked to for the kind of man he did want to be (reading plato; what he saw of gentleman joe cavanaugh)#and i was thinking about the ways he differed from the other kids (who bullied him) and the kind of kid his dad wanted him to be (to me the #subtext in emphasising how much he used to sit inside reading directly before talking about going to the match with his dad is that his dad #kind of dragged him along and wanted him to be into boxing instead)#and so i was thinking about all that and in listing the plato thing and the boxing match thing. i thought about jesus and how like the chr #istian bible descibes him as gentle and kind and patient and whatnot. and how he fits into that list and like obviously one assumes he is a #role model for mulcahy. lol. but the show doesnt really go there bc thats just not the tone its not what the show is #(not complaining about that it would most likely be done sooo obnoxiously and like its literally not what i want to see on tv)#and then i was wondering about when his religion became really important for him. like given what he seems to feel about his family #and how much he doesnt talk about them. i would assume its a connection he more or less found/established as independent from them #which leads me to think of it as either something he got into later or something which was a refuge for him as a kid.#and like ive thought before about how the things he mentions in heroes Dont have to do with catholicism. and maybe thats just bc it wasn't #part of the story. or maybe its because he just wasnt really looking there for guidance and hope at that point #anyway i dont have answers to any of these questions i was simply turning them over in my head like smooth pebbles in my mouth #me.txt #mashposting #oh i got soo distracted here but ALSO the reason i was thinking about it when i made thsi post is bc i was wondering what stained glass he #likes Lol #for potential use in a joke post i might make

man i thought most of my galacta lore was hcs based in vague meta subtext but it turns out its actually just Text

#like i took them being summoned in noncanon side stories constantly as ‘’oh theyre trapped in a cycle’’#where they became a hero and saved their dimension several times out of love for their people #but while people loved them they also feared them and sealed them away #but they would sometimes he summoned and let out…. only to fight who freed them as a challenge #they became just a goal for people to use. they would be sealed away right after the battle. this happens over and over and over again #theyre dragged into other dimensions and timelines to make this work #their noble deeds are forgotten about and only their status as ‘’the strongest warrior in the galaxy’’ is remembered and sought after #by challengers #their aggression then is less based on actual villainy and more of just what their psyche has been reduced to at this point #they get summoned? get it over with and kill whoever summoned them. maybe this time theyll be free. they can sleep #but they inevitably get challenged again and sealed away again bc the challenger couldnt defeat them bc they feared them #they start to bleed together and galacta loses all sense of self until morpho finally finds them #echoed voice #i thought allllll of that. all of it. was my own fanon #bc of the ‘’what if gk remembers all the timelines’’ theory #BUT NO ITS TEXT its canon that theyve been sealed over and over and over again bc people keep challenging them and losing #combined w them being heavily implied to have been the one to stop void termina it just. augh

the whole world of ffxiv is very dear to me

#🌙.rambles #[ ffxiv. ]#i'm catching up on some quests. particularly the role quests for crafters rn n #THE WRITING IS SO GOOD #i love how the side stories n all these side characters. have. actual character to them #i remember a few months back when i finally finished the. hmmm. i can't rmb but it was the one with the harp. or the bard idk #I CANT REMEMBER BUT YK THE QUEST WHERE THE SONG FROM. ONE OF THE OLD FINAN FANTASIES #THE LUTE! THE LUTE YK FROM. AAAA WAS IT FFIV OR FFIII OR SMTH ELSE I CAN'T REMEMBER 😭#that said though i rmb something abt that like.. oh my god shadowbringers n.#HOPE! hope is one of my favorite themes ever n ffxiv always does so well w it for me #n then. stuff like. guilt. regret. past present n future.... ffxiv touches on it all is such a personal way.#then again. maybe i also really like the feeling of playing the protagonist or 'hero' through a video game #helping people. making memories through this fantasy world. having profound achievements n being productive #i've said this so much but it's bcs i rlly mean it; ffxiv as an mmorpg really changed my life #i'm. really happy. for the past year my motivation n energy has been really inconsistent n all but #recently.. i've managed to be kinder to myself?#idk oh man i remember last year i wasn't rlly too conscious of time in a. kind of obsessive way like i am now but not really hmmm #wait i'm just reflecting rn UWAH THAT SAID THOUGH #i'll just do what i can! i know i'll be able to do what i want in time anyways #that's just the kind of person i am. i'll work hard. i'll succeed in every aspect i want to.#it's certainly not easy n failure n disappointment will be inevitable but i know i'll make it through it all n do my best. fly. bloom.#being able to rest n take it slow w like ffxiv or wtvr's rlly helped #my social battery is nonexistent still but i always feel safe at least when i'm certain with myself #but i'll always challenge myself to do better. once more i'm excited for the new year #i'm rambling hdkgjskg but indulging in stuff i love like ffxiv rlly just!!!! makes me remember myself!!!!#this is who i am!!!!!!!!!!!! next year i'm gna do a lot better let's fucking go #THE OST OF THE CRYSTARIUM MEANS SO MUCH TO ME. #me thinking about eyrie and thancred like The Tropes! the TROPES #the outliving your lover and the realization of that #the slow realization of FEELINGS or the absence of feelings for others #me assigning thancred bisexual bc I don’t give a shit #I can’t wait for how much I gotta ignore canon #i also finished the CT and I’m like oh if I didn’t know the vaguest spoilers I would be Deeply Sad about Raha #but if I didn’t know better I’d say eyrie would have like. a pretty decent chance at maybe seeing him again??#liek eyrie could live to be 400 years old #they’re only 150 so that’s like. another 250 years they still have left #OOF I’m gonna have so many thoughts about their lifespan after they go through the dlc content #the whole….living so long and being a hero. watching as you get older and the deeds falling into legend with a few generations #like! stories of things you did for someone’s father being passed down while you’re still alive #these grand and great grandchildren knowing this story of their deceased father when you’re still alive #that’s just. just finished watching Blue Beetle & the dude who's lines were 90% "my name isn't Sanchez" is listed as "Sanchez" in the credits

#''you see she's racist because she calls him Sanchez even though that's not his name. anyways here's who played Sanchez''#oh also the dude who played him is Guillermo from What We Do In The Shadows #man idk maybe it's just cuz i watched Spiderverse again right before this #but i find superhero movies just don't do it for me anymore. not the modern ones anyway #like yeah it's fun for sure but also. it's 90% CGI & totally ignores the superpower aspect in favour of like. romance & explosions #like i wanna see him learn there's a fucking alien beetle speaking in his head rather than just ''yeah i can hear it. anyways''#i know i know we've seen origin stories a million times. but like. i LOVE origin stories. i'm sure other people do too #it's why i always rewatch the first movie in a series. i love the fucking around & finding out #also the amount of random flashing lights was kind of weird. made me realize how many climaxes just do that instead of actually like #making it visually appealing #man every time i watch a superhero movie that isn't Andrew or Toby's Spider-man or Spiderverse or RPat's Batman i get disappointed #the earlier Marvel & DC movies were alright. i think they still had the magic before Avengers went big #but like. dude. most of them just don't do it for me. there's something fundamental about heroes that they're missing #i think it's the like. actually wanting to help people just because they want to #a lot of them only help because they get the money & tech to do so #i think it worked with Tony because that's his whole character. he's an asshole billionaire who makes weapons #his (& Batman's) character development surrounds the tech & the money #but for friendly neighbourhood Spider-man for example it doesn't. that guy is poor. he defends the people #& they can't really do that when they've got a billionaire who works with the government breathing down their neck can they #idk i feel like a lot of this ''i'm just the little guy look at me i'm just a lil dude with a family who likes helping'' doesn't really wor #when the only reason they're helping at all is because a billionaire showed up & gave them a million dollars like #''i'm doing this out of the goodness of my heart <3 billionaires are people too''#sorry but billionaires need to die if you wanna actually help people. actually i take back that sorry. i'm not sorry #i did get some ideas for DIM though so i guess there's that #anyway yeah Blue Beetle is good as entertainment. i just feel like it could've been more Real ya know?#like. Faster Than Healing Magic

Pairing: Alastor x Reader

A/N: Haven't done angst yet and I wouldn't be me without writing angst.

You kept a smile on your face while Alastor chatted with Charlie, Vaggie and Lucifer, partially complaining about his, and your, new tower, the bedroom, pretty much everything. He was being petty as fuck. Which meant he wasn't doing as bad as you thought he was.

Still he wasn't doing great either.

"Do not give me those big, sad eyes darling. This is but a scratch." He boasted as he got changed for bed. The cut was still bleeding and it looked quite deep. "No hugs for your hero? I thought held my own pretty well." So he said but from his slightly tilted ears you knew he didn't feel that way entirely.

It was more then just his body that got hurt, it was also his ego. Alastor had that in spades. And while you can't really do anything about that problem you can do something about the cut across his torso.

"Alright mister tall, red and spooky, get on the bed." You pointed at it expectedly.

"Oh-ho! So we are having that kind of celebration are we?" Alastor wiggled his eyebrows at you, "I'm not particularly in the mood but I suppose surviving a big battle would constitute some-" You took him by the hand and pushed him to sit down, his deer tail moving in excitement. "Aggressive."

You felt your face and neck flushing. It wasn't fair that he could tease you like this at times like this. "Not that! And you called me a pervert. I want to bandage your injury. Clean it too, no way am I letting it get infected on my watch."

He sat on the bed cross-legged on the bed, humming a tune that was way too cheerful for someone in his current perdicament. But if he wasn't doing that and smiling then you would really be worried.

This was a good sign.

You came back with bandages for him and sat in front of him, leaning in close to first clean and stitch up the wound. As your fingers approached him you glanced up, confirming that he was okay with your touch. He was always sensitive about that so you thought it was better safe then sorry. Whatever he did to treat this cut it was very sloppy. Probably because he wanted to get back as soon as possible.

He had so many smaller cuts all over his body, his chest, back, stomach, arms, legs, even his neck. You can't imagine the kind of life he lived before this and he would never tell you the stories of these scars. What little you did know of him when he was alive was information he shared willingly during pillow talk.

What surprised you, and alarmed you, was that he never flinched while you worked on the stitching. He seemed like he was enjoying it.

"All clean and sowed up. Put your hands up for me, I need to get this all the way around." Alastor didn't protest, he grinned wider when you had to be face to face with him to get the bandages on tight enough, "Not too tight?"

"Not at all. Thank you for your hard work darling. But you know I don't mind a little blood." Alastor patted his chest, examening your work. He seemed pleased enough despite his protests.

You cringed, "But I do, Al, I don't want blood all over the bed, or me." It seemed like it would be quite the gruesome sight to wake up to. Shivering from the images in your head you made him scoot up to his spot as you took yours, right next to him, your head against his chest. "If you're in pain wake me up. Promise me."

"Of course, I promise. You really do worry too much over me. I am much tougher than I look, you'll see, by tomorrow morning this will be but a scar and a memory." Alastor kissed the crown of your head softly, he was always soft and gentle with you in moments like these.

"I hope so." At least you knew the full story behind this scar, and maybe someday he'll tell you about the rest.

pairing: bucky barnes x reader

this idea came to me 20 minutes ago and i had to write it down.

Bucky walked in the room to see you looking quite sorry for yourself, it tugged on his heartstrings and he decided it was his mission to make you feel better.

“Hey buttercup,” He quipped and received a glare off of you.

“Don’t ever say that again.” You stared right into his soul and he raised his hands in surrender.

“Why do you look so down?” He took a seat next to you on the couch.

“I don’t know. Maybe it’s this stupid cast on my arm” Sarcasm dripping from your voice which made Bucky role his eyes.

“Maybe you shouldn’t have jumped off of a two story building” He gave you side eye.

“I was TRYING to do a cool super hero landing!” You argued back only to see him smirk.

“How’d that work out for ya?”

“Shut up” You smacked his shoulder and went back to sulking in your own misery.

“Wanna watch a movie? Take a nap? Watch a movie while taking a nap?” Bucky asked and you nodded.

“Nap sounds good” You smiled.

“C’mere” He patted his lap where you lay your head as he played with your hair.

You closed your eyes and soon enough were fast asleep. Bucky smirked and went into his pocket and got out black and gold pens and began to colour your cast. Every once in awhile he’d giggle to himself and then he’d look at you scared you’d wake up. About forty minutes later you started to stir and Bucky stroked your hair as you slowly woke up.

“Morning, doll” He smiled and you returned the gesture.

“Hey” You sat up.

“How’d you sleep?” All innocence in his voice.

“I slept pretty good act-“ You stopped mid sentence when you looked down at your broken arm..

“Bucky” You spoke quietly.

“Yes, sweetheart?” He looked at you as if nothing had happened.

“Bucky did you colour in my cast” You slowly looked up to him again to see the biggest grin on his face. He held out his metal arm

“TWINS!” He beamed, he was so proud of himself and you couldn’t help but laugh.

“You idiot oh my god I have to have this on for at least four more weeks.” You were looking at the gold detail, it really did look like his.

“We will walk around together and everyone will be in awe of how cute of a couple we are! Matching arms! Maybe we should get matching outfits to complete the look” He pulled you so you were sitting on his lap.

“Absolutely not, the arm is enough” You used your good hand to scratch the hair at the back of his head and he smiled dopily.

“I’m so glad you’re not mad, this really could’ve gone either way.” He laughed.

“You’re lucky I love you” Smiling at him before leaning in to kiss him sweetly.

“I love you my metal arm girl” To which you giggled and dug your head into the crook of his neck as he wrapped his arms around you.
