Happy Audio Drama Sunday!! When I was a non-teacher adult I thought to myself, surely as a child I exaggerated the desperate need for summer break. Now that I am a teacher adult, I can admit that I was. Wrong. I need a break, but luckily I have time for this.
Here's what I listened to this week!
@ourstoriedinsight's season finale was this week and wow. Wow. The way this show so effortlessly dances on ideas of trust, truth, and ethics while telling a story of four (five? Sir George count?) ridiculous and reluctant heroes who have only a dead friend in common is staggering. This episode especially, as you can see how they really drew together against (and then with) Sage. I love them, your honor. And I would also let Rain be my lawyer. Everyone listen to Our Storied Insight.
Jeez louise @camlannpod, can you give a girl a break? I am so glad Gwaine’s okay, and I’m fascinated by the mistrust Peredur has for him, even after they tried to track him over hill and dale. And I am SO worried about what's about to happen next. I wonder what Dai's going to do about it. I wonder if he'll do anything (please, Dai, do something).
This week's episode of Josie’s Lonely Hearts Club had me rolling. Look, I knew the title going in ("It's French for A Horny Party") and I still cackled when the line appeared in the episode. Josie, I hope you continue changing for the better. Also it inspired me to make beans and rice for dinner and that was a wild success.
When Karim Kronfli showed up at the beginning of the season of Among the Stars and Bones, I was excited, but holy heck. The performances in this show. Oh, right, and the twist at the end--you know, I really should have expected things to get a million times worse, based on how last season went, but this is a MILLION times worse. How are they gonna get out of this one folks???
@keepitsteadypod KEEP IT STEADY IS BACK KEEP IT STEADY MY BELOVED. Things are REALLY going places between Zach and Gabe now and neither of them know it. I love high schoolers, they're so dumb. Admit you like each other, dummies. Shoutout to our great good school nurse trying to fight for kids, and I thought the reveal about Zach's past was remarkably done. I love this show.
In relistening news, Life with Althaar again (what's up, @geminicollisionworks!). I rarely relisten to shows, but this one is worth my while every time. Listen to Life with Althaar, a silly space sitcom that gets Not So Silly when the story decides to commit to the bit. Althaar, I would die for you.
Inn Between is truckin right along with 5.9 this week, which I found absolutely delicious to watch the actors bring to life. It’ll be outdone only by the episode next week. In zombie news, boy oh boy, this week we're doing some recording for The Dead that I'm very worried about but ready for the challenge of. It involves directing singers in a language I do not speak! Lol pray for me. If I can make it til school ends, maybe I'll have some other news as well! Keep a weather eye out.
Hey, want to help me satiate my sudden summer cravings for fun drinks? Buy me a ko-fi!
See y'all next week!

im gon keep yapping about the sound design for the magnus protocol because its driving me insane
the difference between the two podcasts is so drastic its FRIGHTENING
The Magnus Archives intro/outro: high-pitched, screeching, eerie, dies off with what sounds like a stone tumbling into the depths and lights turning on/off, water, sounds like the darkness of a cave that you must descend into even though you're terrified, but you do it anyway
The Magnus Protocol intro/outro: LOUD, deep, bone-chilling/shaking, foreboding, it sounds like darkness in a different way, like the great throat of some unknown beast that is hundreds of times larger and older than us and will swallow us whole; it's fear that hunts us, instead of us hunting it
-
also, side note/addition because i realized i forgot to add WHY it freaked me out
long story short, i was around 50% deaf in my right ear until I was 12 years old (reconstructive surgery truly is something I am so grateful for) and now I'm back to a fairly normal hearing range.
The problem?
I can't hear low tones as easily.
the magnus protocol is heavily reliant on lower tones, so what I hear is likely not how most people hear it, but for me it sputters, almost, parts of it are kind of missing, and I know I'm not hearing it right, which freaks me the fuck out.

It's a monumental MOTHER moment! The saga of the EarthBound series in America and a generation of fans brought together by this heartfelt work of art, coming of age in the chaos of capitalism, is chronicled in the forthcoming feature film, EarthBound, USA.
In our latest episode, we speak with director Jazzy Benson about she and her team’s decade-long journey to create this amazing work of multimedia art, and the ways that art, artists, and fans inform and inspire one another. LISTEN HERE: pod.link/1682337146

my #autism has led me to listen to about 1000 different podcasts + read alongs of IT and one thing thats always weird to me is how a lot of people don’t understand what makes richie a loser. there’s always a big discussion of like ‘lol wearing glasses does not make a person oppressed this is poorly written’ and how everyone else has a defining loser characteristic while he doesn’t
like did we not all instantly read him as neurodivergent then. im not even saying that in a headcanony way i truly always thought that’s what king was intentionally doing with his character? so many ways he describes his richie-isms are just word for word adhd symptoms and he goes into a fuck ton of detail on how that socially outcasts him. obviously everyone has their own interpretation but the fun of richies character is you’re meant to dig into his layers and that’s a big one imo and idk it just IRKS ME!!!!

Okay. I have stuff I want to let out because something has been stressing me out about todays recent episodes.
I still believe Bm will get a redemption.
Tumblr media
I'm stressing over this really bad, and I know for a fact I might not be right but since the recent episode where Frank warns Bloodmoon, its very clear that the twins will be separated. Now the thing about the Twins is that they are very dependent on each other. If they were to be separated, they'd lose their minds. In the recent Episode of Sun and moon playing chapter 3 of "Weird Strict Dad" where Moon says he's more likely to forgive Bloodmoon after a certain point in a game, it raised my hopes that if the twins were to be separated, one of the twins would freak out and go to one of the only other people who tried giving them a chance before. Sun and Moon. I feel like he would beg for help, which I know sounds odd- but without the crazy twins (the one voice acted by TheInvisibleDavis-) other half, who literally helps him make decisions before they act on things, he'd rush to ideas and would run to them for help. At least I pray what happens. Though, if they were to help the twins would Frank be seen as a slight bad guy? I don't know but I was freaking out, so I wanted to rant about this topic.

I'm a huge appreciator of John's possession of Arthur's sight as a tool to describe the imagery to the listeners but it's so funny to listen to John state the blatantly obvious because he's cursed with being the narrative
