Yes, there's a chapter near the start where there's a moment of "wow the EQ is high, the understanding of emotions is high, they are talking about this unrealistically" if that bothers you I beg you to push past it. Some really fantastic characterization in this fic and I am dying because I read it all in one long go and forgot to eat dinner, big whoops on my part.

i'd like to know your thoughts on this entire post but i'm more amused by the second paragraph. "ignore actual canon"? what actual canon are they talking about? the official character sheets that called adora and catra sisters? the ¾ths of the show that established an intense toxic sibling dynamic between these two? the fact that some of the cast themselves described adora's and catra's relationship as a "sisterly bond"? lmao.

OP rlly said "it's not ableism if the disabled person is shitty". What the actual fuck. That's like saying that purposefully misgendering a shitty person who happens to be trans/nb is okay. But we should all know in the year of 2024 that it's not.

The sisterly C//A paragraph is beyond me. For one, C//A stans do accept that Shadow Weaver raised Catra and Adora. Their entire conflict is rooted in the golden child x scapegoat dynamic, mostly present in sibling relationships. SW isn't just a shitty teacher or master, she's their MOTHER. Catra fights for SW's affection and the lack of it deeply affected her. Hell, stans will make "mommy issues" jokes with both Catra and Adora, and yet they will get so pissed when we say "so you admit they're sisters". And since stans don't have any valid arguments, they will just call us lesbophobes.

Hate to quote a Marvel meme but me every time I see a SPOP stan saying shit like this: "oh so we're using our made up SPOP now".

The Ultimate Vriska Poll - Calling for Nominations

My Tumblr Sexywoman poll is going well and I'm having a lot of fun, so I'm thinking of holding a poll to find Tumblr's most iconic Vriska-archetype character. If you don't know what a Vriska archetype is, Tumblr user @doubleca5t coined the term as follows:

Sexypedia didn't have a specific page for the Vriska archetype (the link shown in the screenshot leads to a page titled "Controversial"), but here's what it has to say on the topic:

Now that Tumblr's had time to get a smattering of blorbos that can be considered Vriskas, I want to pit these bad bitches against each other. I want to put them in a box and shake them until they fight to the death. I want the intense campaigning, voter fraud, and sabotage that happened around the original Vriska Serket in the Tumblr Sexywoman poll by Tumblr user @lutzlig. But I want it 32-fold.

The start date for this tournament will tentatively be February 19th. The structure will likely be like the Tumblr Sexywoman poll. Before that, I will be collecting a list of at least 16, preferably 32, Vriska-archetype characters. I will be considering nominations until February 17th, 6 PM PST.

The character you nominate must fulfill at least 4/5 of the requirements of a Vriska. UPDATE: I have decided to expand requirement 4 to just "queer" instead of strictly "attracted to women." Requirements 2, 3, and 5 are mandatory. This is so that male (and nb) characters like Bakugou from BNHA can still participate. As well as characters that don't really get shipped a lot. Like Lilith from The Owl House. (I'm sorry queen I've found someone more controversial) However, I will reject characters if I feel they fall more into other archetypes. Like Komaedas.

I’ve been watching She Ra with my sister and watching a straight person watch this show is a trip

- her favorite character is swift wind

- She loves Entrapta and Hordak as a couple

- she keeps getting Double Troubles pronouns wrong but always immediately corrects herself (which mainly is bc shes never met/interacted with an nb person before)

- She isn’t picking up on Catradora

- AT ALL

- Princess Prom did nothing for her

- Neither did the portal

-we’re starting season 5 and she still hasn’t figured it out l

10. Most disliked arc? Why?

The start of s1 where they're running around recruiting the princesses. I didn't hate them but don't think I like any of these episodes, or the characterisation of the princesses in them. I've warmed up to "System Failure" over time, it's definitely the most interesting of this arc in the long term, but the only princess recruitment episode I think is good is "Princess Prom" (legendary), and even then Frosta's characterisation in this episode is obnoxious, and completely disappears from season 2 onwards before it can become something more complex.

I also don't like the BFS arc, or lack of arc, at the start of season 2. It seems everything that happens with the good guys in season 2 is an interruption from the way more interesting Horde story (see: Signals, Reunion). Shit doesn't get moving for them again until Shadow Weaver shows up.

26. Most shippable character?

Glimmer. Pair her with every member of Best Friend Squad.

Other than my girl Glimmer, who I mostly ony ship with BFS, Catra is shippable with EVERY girl in the show. Catra/Mermista? Sassy. Catra/Perfuma? Daring. Catra/Entrapta? Cute. Catra/Netossa? I think Netossa might be the oldest of the Princesses, but if I put them in a human AU so they are within shipping range? Spectacular. The only girl/nb character I DON'T really ship Catra with anymore is Scorpia and that's because of the arc they had in the show. Same reason I don't ship Glimmer/Adora as much as I did when we first started the show. And Double Trouble because they made her cry.

Shout out to Bow who I think is the only character to have an established and unique relationship with every character on the show, except for Hordak. That doesn’t mean I SHIP Bow with all of them but it must mean something.
