notes: hey everyone this is the first fic im posting pls no hate 😄😘
You practically fall through your open window onto the floor of your bedroom, knees almost buckling underneath you. You’re able to catch yourself in just enough time to stop your face from slamming into the ground. The impact from your sort of fall is still loud, though, and you pray Natasha couldn’t hear it.
You realized you were sick two days ago, but only today had you really started to feel the full effects of your illness. School was a nightmare with a stuffy nose and constant headache, and with no time in between classes and patrol, you were absolutely miserable. But, not wanting to worry Natasha or risk being labeled as “useless”, you kept it to yourself and stuck it out. One fight in particular left you stumbling and sneezing, the guy’s ice powers making you feel even more sick. You’d managed to make your way to your shared apartment with Natasha. You couldn’t wait to take a much needed nap.
A knock on the door makes you jump up from your spot on the floor, which you happened to be very comfortable in. Natasha’s voice is muffled by the door.
“Y/N? What the hell was that?” she asks. Shit.
You panic. Clear your throat as quietly as you can, hoping to sound much less congested than you are. “Nothing! I’m ok, I swear.”
“I’m coming in,” she states, and she’s next to you before you can even begin to protest. She notices the carpet moved out of place under your feet and smirks. “Did you fall through the window?”
“Maybe,” you reply. She quirks an eyebrow at you. “Rough ni-” you start, but a cough racks through your body and you’re forced to double over. You recover as quickly as possible, shooting back up with a sniffle and a smile. “Rough night,” you finish. You break eye contact with her once you see the concern laced in her green eyes.
“I can tell. Did you get hit?” she asks, looking up and down your body looking for an injury that could be the source of your cough. She takes your face into her hands and studies the cuts littering it until your own hands push hers away.
“No, I’m fine. Well, I did get hit, but I’m fine. No problem.” You smile at her. It doesn’t reach your eyes.
The back of Natasha’s hand finds your forehead before you can react. Your mind tells you to pull away, but your body leans into the contact in search of comfort. She frowns as you sniff again. “You’re sick.”
“No I’m not,” you argue, finally finding the strength to pull her hand away from you. It drops to her side and her eyes search yours.
“Yes, you are. How long have you been sick for?”
“I haven’t been sick because I’m not sick.”
“Then why do you sound so gross?”
“I’m not gross.”
“You’re pretty gross.”
“I’m not sick, Nat! Jesus,” you swipe your hand under your nose and sniffle miserably. Her fingers find your face once more and she turns your chin to look at her, thumb swiping away a tear you didn’t know had fallen. Natasha looks at you, really looks at you. You’re shivering under her touch, just slightly, but enough for her to notice. Your eyes are sunken and red, as well as the tip of your nose and your cheeks. She looks back into your eyes.
“What’s wrong?” she asks softly, barely above a whisper.
Tears fill your eyes and you let them. “I don’t feel good,” you tell her, and the wall breaks. She pulls you into her and kisses the top of your head. You're very aware of the grossness you're getting on her shirt, but she doesn’t care.
“I got you,” she whispers over and over into your hair, rubbing circles on your back as you sob. Eventually your legs simply give out, but she’s there to hold you up. Drags you over to your bed and pulls away, forcing you to look at her. She hands you a tissue to blow your nose into.
“Gross,” she comments. You giggle tearily and she smiles at you. “I’ll make you soup if you wanna go shower.”
“Mkay. C’n you do tha’ thing where you put m’ clothes in the dryer so they’re all warm?” you look up at her with the best puppy eyes you can muster. This time she giggles at you.
“I guess so. Try not to take twelve hours in the shower, I want hot water too.”
You know she really wouldn’t care if you took forever, as long as it made you feel better.
You jump in the shower, and when you’re out (45 minutes later), there’s fresh clothes sitting on the toilet for you, plus a fluffy towel. You throw on the clothes and ring out your hair, walking towards the kitchen to the smell of soup.
Natasha watches you and shoots you a small smile. “Better?” she asks.
“Yeah. Less gross,” you reply honestly. Your nose is a lot less congested and your shivering stopped for the most part. You plop yourself down in your spot on the couch and Liho, Nat’s cat, jumps up with you. You pull her into your arms and lay down on a pillow given to you by some distant relative, paying little attention to the sitcom running on the tv.
Nat turns to bring you a bowl of soup, but sees you passed out on the couch, snoring quietly. She walks over and grabs your favorite blanket from over the top of the couch, draping it over you and kissing your forehead. Notices you’re a lot less warm than before, smiles down at you. The soup could wait for later.

Wordcount: 3580

Natasha gave a much-needed sigh of relief as she finally stepped onto solid ground, she never thought she’d ever be so happy to be home again. Nat had been sent away on a long deep-undercover mission and in total she had been away for about a month, however as of the nature of the mission, keeping in close-contact wasn’t possible. The only communication you received was via small hand-written letters, and they meant the world to you. though they were small you’d kept ahold of every one, keeping them safely tucked in your bedside drawer, re-reading them before you’d turn in to sleep each night.
Which is why you had been so excited for Nat’s return; you’d even deep cleaned your shared bedroom so everything would be perfect for her arrival. Nothing should’ve gone wrong. If only everything went how you’d planned...
~~~ ~~~
You’d gone to bed a little later that night, feeling a little more tired than usual, you wanted to have plenty of energy for tomorrow. That’s probably when you woke up that next morning, your body washed with fatigue and the feeling of a migraine settling in, you felt your eyes grow teary. How could this happen today? Of all days for you to get sick, why today?
No. You pulled yourself from the bed, as you stood a wave of dizziness fell over you, sending you scrambling to grip the bedpost to steady yourself, ignoring your body's cries to remain laying down. You gave yourself a moment to adjust before forcing yourself to remake the bed behind you. There was no time to be sick today.
You tried to sniffle, but you couldn’t. Now that you thought about it, you had been breathing through your mouth the whole morning. You twitched your nose and sniffled again, trying to get some air through your nose to no avail. You rolled your eyes, could today get any worse?
You regretted asking yourself that question a second later when you found yourself pulling off Nat’s red hoodie (the one you’d been sleeping in for the past week) feeling an uncomfortable warmth begin to settle over you. Maybe a shower would help, you thought before making your way over to your bathroom.
Stepping into the tiled room, you turned on your shower and waited for it to get warm, feeling dizzy again, you put your hands on the counter to steady yourself and looked up at the mirror. You felt yourself physically cringe at the sight. God, saying you looked awful would be a huge understatement, your eyes had dark circles beneath them, it looked like you hadn't slept in weeks.
The mirror slowly began to fog up, reminding you of the shower which was running behind you. Pulling open the door, you were hit by a cascade of warm steam. It felt amazing and you could feel your congestion start to loosen a little.
Only your delight lasted for a second, a familiar sensation creeping into the bridge of your nose. Stepping into the shower, you were only able to enjoy the feeling of the water briefly before the sensation in your nose grew to an irritating tickle.
“Hhup’tshiew! Hh-’iishiew! HHe’TSHHIEW!” Your body bent forwards at the waist as you sneezed down into your hands before washing them off under the water, you grimaced at the sound you made, knowing it was only the first of many to come. You sighed, your stuffiness returning in an instant, though you really didn’t get long to dwell on it before you began coughing into your fist.
It took you about 30 seconds to finally stop, “Well that was attractive.” You spoke for the first time today, finding your sarcastic tone had a painful-rasp to it, your consonants blurred by congestion. Although nobody was there to hear you, you found yourself cringing at the sound of yourself. Taking a deep breath, you could feel your chest crack, you looked upwards, allowing the water to fall directly onto your face. It was obvious today was going to be a very long day.
 You let yourself spend longer than usual in the shower, stepping out of the warm water, your body shivered and you rushed to wrap yourself within a towel. Getting changed was a task which proved harder than you thought, every time you removed the towel, small goosebumps ran down your arms, making your wrap yourself back up, desperate for warmth. Eventually though you managed to pull through and you changed into a pair of Nat’s sweatpants and a thick cotton-lined hoodie.
It was almost 10:30AM by the time you’d wandered down into the compound kitchen in search of something to eat, you weren’t necessarily hungry but still you had to eat something. Nat didn’t like it when you didn’t have something for breakfast plus you were hoping that if you ate something then you’d feel a little better.
Looking in the cupboards, you settled on having some Poptarts, you were reaching up to grab the box when Clint, Wanda and Bruce came into the kitchen together, they’d most likely just finished training.
“Morning Y/N.” Clint said cheerily as he came to sit at the island behind you, “Nat's coming home today.”
“I'm aware.” You said bluntly, as you sniffled into the sleeve of your hoodie, taking two Poptarts and putting them in the toaster.
“Woah, no need to get snappy.” Clint said throwing his hands up in fake-defence, you knew he was only joking but still, it pissed you off.
“Can yo-” You stopped to muffle a small chesty cough into your hoodie, “Can you just stop?” You said with an irritated tone, turning around to glare at him.
You half-expected him to return the gesture but instead you were met with looks of concern from him along with Wanda and Bruce who’d watched the whole thing unfold.
“Y/N, honey,” Wanda’s soft voice said as she came to lean against the fridge, trying to get a closer look at you, “Clint was only joking, he didn’t mean to annoy you. You're sounding a little stuffy over there though, you feeling alright?”
“It's okay,” You sighed, looking over to Clint, “Sorry, I overreacted and Wanda, I'm fine, don’t worry.”
It was then that you felt your nose begin to tingle again, you fanned your face for a moment, in an attempt to somehow stave the tickle off but it didn’t help, you turned quickly to the side away from everyone as you sneezed into your elbow.
“Hh-itshhiew! HhH’uptshiew!” You gave a small congested groan before reaching over to grab a tissue from the box sitting on the countertop.
The three Avengers blessed you, exchanging glances between themselves. You didn’t notice however, as your Poptarts were ready a moment later. You grabbed a plate and put them onto it, taking a bite, you winced as you swallowed, the action angering the soreness at the back of your throat. You realised then that you really weren't hungry at all, you took another few bites before pushing the plate away from you. You’d only managed half of one.
“It's not like you to leave food.” Bruce voiced the thoughts of everyone around you.
You gave a weak shrug and pushed the plate infront of Clint, “You can finish it if you want.”
He was about to take a bite of your half-eaten one when Wanda pushed it away mid-air, a red glow forming around it.
“If Y/N’s sick, you don’t wanna catch that.” She him chided lightly.
“Who said Im sick?” You looked over to her as you began to walk out from the kitchen, “I just happened to leave some food unfinished, that doesn’t mean Im sick, does it?” You said grumpily as you left.
Wanda shook her head and shrugged at the others before following you out into the corridor, jogging up so she could walk aside you, following your lead as you made your way towards the lounge.
“Mind if I tag along?” She asked politely, “You really don’t seem yourself today, did something happen with you and Nat? You’re normally buzzing with excitement every time she comes home.”
“Nothing happened Wands,” You stopped walking, suddenly sneezing down into your hand, “I can't wait for her to come home obviously. Im just a little tired or something.”
Wanda blessed you but gave you an uneasy look, she didn’t believe you but seeing how you’d gotten irritated at Clint earlier, she didn’t want to accidently annoy you.
You and Wanda made your way into the lounge, settling on opposite sofas. You pulled a blanket around yourself, your hoodie doing little to keep you warm. You let Wanda pick something to watch, you didn’t really care, all you wanted was something to take your mind off the mind-numbing ache in your head.
“Is Brooklyn-Nine-Nine alright?” She asked as she browsed through Netflix.
“I don’t mind.” You sniffled, burying your head into the blanket as you coughed deeply, the noise causing Wanda to look over at you with worried eyes.
“You sound terrible.” She said as the intro to the series began to play.
 Looking up at her, it was obvious she was concerned, “Just something in my throat.” You grumbled, your voice coming out in crackled, raspy words rather than a flowing sentence, “Its fin- h- Hh'tshhiEW!”
Wanda wordlessly got up and picked up the box of tissues from the coffee table in the centre of the living room and placed them firmly next to you, ignoring your glare. You couldn't help but feel weak, if you couldn’t hide your little cold from Wands, how on earth were you meant to hide it from Natasha.
You and Wanda sat in silence for 2 episodes before you felt your nose begin to run causing you to begin sniffling repeatedly, it was then that you found yourself being thankful for her prior act, taking 2 tissues to blow your nose, you mentally thanked her, giving her a brief smile.
Wanda looked over to you, she’d heard your thoughts and gave you a kind reassuring smile.
You didn’t know it, but you were slowly falling asleep, your eyes growing heavier by the minute. You looked up to the clock on the wall, it was almost 12PM, meaning Nat would be home in afew hours. You yawned, maybe you’d just close your eyes for a minute...
~~ ~~
Stepping off the Quinjet, Natasha could barely contain herself, finally she’d be able to see you! She didn’t waste any time, leaving the Quinjet loaded and her bags at the exit. She could clean up later, she had to see you first.
She practically jogged down the halls towards your bedroom, expecting to find you waiting for her.
“Im home bab-” She called out but stopped, realising the room was empty, she did notice how tidy it looked though, well except the random towel in the middle of the floor, but apart from that the room was almost spotless.
Nat stopped to think for a moment before realising you were probably with the other Avengers, she said hello to Clint as she poked her head into the kitchen, scanning the room for you.
“They’re with Wanda, in the lounge.” Clint called, answering her unasked question as he wiped down the countertops, cleaning up after himself.
Nat thanked him before actually jogging towards the living room, she swung the door open and smiled seeing both you and Wanda sitting on the sofas.
She was about to call out to you but stopped, seeing Wanda put a finger to her lips. She stood up and came over to Nat, pulling her outside.
“What's up?” Nat asked, visibly confused at the witch’s actions.
“I thought you should know, Y/N’s sick, they sounded dreadful earlier. They fell asleep about 3 hours and have barely moved an inch.” She explained, “Im glad you’re back though, how was it?”
“It was alright, I missed everyone though.” Nat smiled and hugged her friend, “Thanks for telling me about Y/N too.”
“Don't mention it.” Wanda smiled and left to go do something, allowing Nat to greet you privately.
Natasha came back into the lounge, carefully coming to kneel infront of the sofa you were asleep on, “Hey baby.” She whispered, as she softly stroked your cheek, she recoiled her hand, instantly alarmed at the heat radiating from your face, “Wakey, wakey sweetie.”
It took some more love from Nat before you slowly began to wake up, moaning softly as your eyes adjusted to the light in the room, you rubbed your wrist against your eyes as the image of Nat came into focus.
“Did you have a nice nap baby?” She asked, helping you sit up.
“Natty.” Your voice cracked as you spoke, sending you into a small fit of deep coughing. Only this time you had Nat to softly rub her hand down your back, “Sorry, something got caught in my throat there, when did you get back?”
“About 10 minutes ago, when did you get sick?” She raised her eyebrow at you as you woozily stood up, quickly offering her arm out to support you.
“What do you mean?” You asked, resisting the urge to sniffle. If there was anytime you needed your acting abilities to be flawless, it was now. You had a pretty rocky start but you could still make up for it.
Nat gave you a curious look, “Wanda said you were sick?” Her words came as more of a question then a statement.
“Oh.” You feigned surprise as you tried to discreetly clear your throat, “Well Im fine, never better.” You flashed her a small forced smile.
‘Fine’ is probably the most misused word in the whole of the English language, you most certainly were not fine, even as you stood still it felt as if the room was spinning around, you but you did your best to act as if nothing was wrong.
Now Natasha knew you were lying, it was obvious from your appearance alone, your eyes were tired and glassy, not to mention both your cheeks and nose were tinged red. But still, she was impressed at your perseverance, maybe that was why she went along with your scheme. She wanted nothing more than to wrap you up in her hands with tissues and a blanket but she just wanted to see how long it’d take for you to give in.
“Maybe Wanda was wrong then.” Nat smiled at you knowingly, “You wanna go out for drinks later?”
 You wanted to cry, you wanted nothing more than to go out for drinks with Nat but you knew there’d be no way you’d be going, “Sure, sounds nice, Im really happy you’re home ‘Tasha. I missed you so so mu-” Your trailed off, feeling the ever-present tickle in your nose grow. Not now.
“Hhu’tshhiew! Hep’TSHHIEW!”
“Oh bless you, my love.” Nat cooed, holding back the plethora of concerned words which were about to tumble from her mouth, “I thought you said you weren't sick?”
“Im not,” You stammered, quickly rubbing the sleeve of your hoodie against your nose, “It was just two -Hh- rando- Hh'iishiew!- random sneezes, its nothing.” You sniffled wetly, reaching for the box of tissues which was still sat on the sofa behind you.
Natasha was stuck. Her heart broke seeing you sick but she really was curious how long you would deny it for, she thought for a moment, if you got any of worst then she’d take matters into her own hands.
“Have you eaten yet?” You asked, even through your fever, her welfare was still at the top of your mind.
“No, but I could use a drink though.” She fibbed, hearing the rasp behind your voice, it was clear you needed water.
“M’Kay, we should go get you one then.” You mumbled, linking your arm with hers as you both left the lounge to go to the kitchen.
Entering the kitchen, you let yourself sit down on one of the stools at the island as Nat grabbed two glasses from the cupboards, pouring water into each.
“Here baby.” She said lovingly, sliding it over to you.
You thanked her and drank it, the cool water feeling amazing against the burning of your throat, “Did you already unpack?”
“Not yet,” She replied, sipping her water, “I’ll do it later.”
“You need a hand?” You offered, praying she’d decline your offer, you really weren't too confident in your lifting abilities at the moment.
“Aw thanks baby but I think I’ll be okay.”
You sat silently, waiting for Nat to finish her water when you started sniffling, feeling your nose begin to run again. You eyed up the tissues on the counter opposite, but grabbing them would be an instant sign to Nat that something was wrong so you opted for trying to discreetly rub your nose against your hoodie.
However, the action only seemed to irritate your nose further, sending an intense tingle to the bridge of your nose.
“Hh’k-tshhiew! Heh’iiishiew! Hh..H..HHitsshiew!”
“Bless you, bless you!” She exclaimed, her worry slipping into her tone as she spoke, “You need a tissue?”
You nodded, as you swiped a handful from the box which she offered out to you. You blew your nose softly, though it did little to ease your discomfort. You sighed, fanning your hand infront of your face, feeling that familiar warmth from earlier that morning come over you again.
You tried to ignore it, but it slowly became unbearable, you raised your arms, pulling off the cotton hoodie, revealing your black sports bra.
Natasha looked over you, puzzled, before noticing that your fever-flushed cheeks had darkened further. Right. This had gone too far now.
She firmly pressed her palm to your forehead without warning, letting out a string of curses in Russian as she felt your raging fever.
“Shit, Y/N. You feel like a furnace. Enough, I know you’re sick, I’ve known the whole time, it's gone too far now.”
What? Her words barely formed coherent sentences in your foggy mind, how did she know? You’d hidden it so well. Small beads of sweat began to form and run down your hot skin and you groaned in discomfort, longing for her love.
“Natty-” You spluttered off into a series of deep coughs, your chest convulsing as you coughed down into your elbow. Natasha had rushed to your side and began running circles down your back, slowly helping you regain your breath.
“Baby I don’t feel good.”
“I know sweetie, I know.” Nat kissed your cheek before grabbing a tissue to wipe your running nose, “You need to get into bed, come on.”
You nodded and opened her hand out towards you.
You stood and the world span around you, your peripheral vision fading black suddenly as your knees buckled under yourself and you felt the weight of gravity pull you down. You thought you were going to hit the ground when sudden you felt yourself being lifted upwards. Natasha’s fast reaction had allowed her to slip one arm beneath your knees and another behind your back, safely catching you in her arms as you lifted you up in the bridal position.
She held you for a moment before releasing a deep exhale, “Jesus Y/N. You scared the shit out of me, don’t ever do that again,” She brought her head and pressed it softly against yours, “Poor baby, you’ve been so strong but we need to get you to bed now, okay?”
You nodded woozily, Natasha continued to whisper sweet nothings to you as she carried you, her strong arms supporting you. Your eyes fell closed for a moment and the next thing you knew, you were being lowered down onto your bed, Natasha’s anxious green eyes looking down at you.
“I guess we’re not going out for drinks then?” Your words were mumbled but you saw her give a slight smirk at your humour.
“No baby, we’ll go out when your well.”
“Sorry your first day back was so eventful, I wanted you to be able to relax.” You sighed, with a damp sniffle, rubbing your nose against the blanket which Nat had pulled over you.
“You’re okay baby, you’ve done so much today. You just need to relax yourself, just lay here. That fever of yours is no joke, you need to rest.”
Natasha opened your drawer, seeing if you had a thermometer at hand, what she wasn’t expecting to see though was her letters, “You kept these?” She asked, her eyes prickled with tears. She hadn't expected you to keep them, her mission had been hard and seeing her letters only reminded her of how much she’d missed you.
“They remind me of you so I wanted to keep them.” Your words were slurred but she understood you anyway.
She honestly wasn’t sure why she thought you wouldn’t keep them. Seeing them lit a little flame in her heart, she leant down to your side and planted a soft kiss on your lips, “I’ll never leave you again baby, okay? Im here.”
You muffled another deep cough into the blanket as Nat regained her composure, wiping the tears from the corners of her eyes. She came and slid into bed beside you, sitting upright. You shuffled backwards so you were laying on her, your head on her chest, listening to the steady beating of her heart as she softly ran her hand through your hair.
“Everything’s gonna be okay.”
you finished your mission with natasha, a few hours ago.
you gained new intel about your mission and decided to take a break and rest in your shared apartment.
maybe going home in nat's motorcycle in the pouring rain without any hood or coverage on your head wasn't the best idea.
unlike nat, you weren't really trained for sickness'. your immunity system was fine for the majority of your life but sometimes the smallest symptoms can make you sick.
looking in the mirror you decide to just shake it off, maybe it'll wear off in your sleep. i mean, a sore throat and a headache isn't the end of the world.
you went to bed as natasha follows behind you.
"you okay, love?" she asked as you nodded, "i'm fine just need some rest." you smiled.
natasha noticed how your voice was raspier than usual, and how your wearing two sweaters.
"you sure? are you cold?" she asked, resting her hands on your forehead, "i'm fine, nat, just a bit tired." — "you're warm." she stated.
"it'll just wear off in the morning i'm sure." you reassured her.
the redhead was skeptical of course, but she thought it'll wear off just like you said. so you both go to sleep as natasha holds you close.
the morning after was miserable. your back aches, your fever, sore throat, and headache didn't seem to wear off like you thought.
you reached beside the bed for natasha but she wasn't there.
"you okay there?" nat opened the door as you sigh of relief. "it didn't wear off." you held your head.
"let me see," she rested her hand on your forehead — "you're warmer than last night. you hungry? you gotta eat before i give you some medicine." she sat next to you.
"no." you shook your head, your stomach felt empty but the thought of eating made you want to throw up.
"you have to eat, dekta. i'll make you some soup okay? you don't have to finish it but you have to eat something before the medicine." she stated, sitting up and going towards the kitchen.
you grabbed the glass of water beside you, drinking it before laying back in bed.
a few moments went by and you started to feel dizzy.
"baby, your soup's ready." natasha announced, holding the bowl in her hand as rushing towards the bedroom door.
"just eat a bit, i'll get the medicine." she kissed your forehead before leaving again.
you finished half of the chicken noodle soup, being chugging a glass of water.
nat came in with some pills and a wet towel that is nicely folded up for your head. "here, she gave you the pills as you swallowed them before laying back down.
"this should help you." she puts the towel on your forehead, "do you need anything?" nat asked.
"can you stay with me? like we can lay in bed or something, missions are off till tomorrow." you ask as she smiled. "of course, need anything else?" she repeated.
"no, just you." you reply, cuddling her as you fall asleep slowly.
your fever went away when you woke up as nat slept beside you.
The Spiders Sister - Chapter 1
Summary: Reader gets caught hiding out in the avengers tower. In the end it turns out for the best.
TW: non-sexual nudity, illness, fainting, swearing
Words: 4.1K
A/n: Super long first chapter
маленький паук – Little Spider
It defiantly wasn’t part of your life plan to be living with your bother again in your adulthood.
You had spent an excellent few months on your own having finally moved out of May Parker’s apartment, it had been perfect. Well … as perfect as life could be for a parker.
Then … you guessed it … parker luck struck again. There was a huge fight, one you had been itching to join but your brother, peter parker, had it covered. And since nobody knew that you sometimes wore the spider-man suit when peter wasn’t able to, it would all be over if two Spider-Man’s ended up fighting some of the weird aliens that had invaded New York.
You see, you and your brother had more in common than most siblings did. Peter parker had been bitten by a radioactive spider on a school trip as was known to a few people. But, at the same time, you had been eighteen and chaperoning the field trip.
When peter had snuck off to the side you had gone after him. When he was bitten, so were you.
But for now, you had decided to try and stay away from the superhero lifestyle. But when the itch came, peter lent you his suit so you could scratch it.
You had helped him refine his web-fluid and had your own web shooters as well as one of his old suits just in case. May knew about you and peter after finding out a while ago. However, peter and you had kept everything about your existence from the avengers so you could live a semi-normal life. At least for now.
But the day the avengers were fighting off the aliens, New York had taken some heavy damage. You had been running a small illustration business out of your apartment in queens. Your apartment … which was now levelled in the fight was gone. Along with your business.
Since you had moved out young, May only had one spare bedroom in her apartment which peter was occupying. Leaving the Parker’s with one option.
As peter had a room in the avenger's tower, you could stay there or with aunt may. Peter being Peter didn’t want to ask tony if he could stay in the tower for the unforeseeable future without arousing questions. So, you had been secretly living in the tower for about three days now.
Peter brought you food and had bribed Jarvis to keep your existence a secret. You had his old suit if you wanted to leave the tower, you could swing away instead of walking through the building and getting caught.
It was a pretty solid plan and it had been working pretty well. Until the day you got sick.
Peters' bedroom in the tower was on the floor with the other avengers, meaning you had to be somewhat quiet so Natasha, clint or the others didn’t find you. But it had begun to get colder out, and Peters old suit didn’t have a heater. It had been made before tony had found out spiders, including peter and yourself, can't thermoregulate. And swinging around New York without a heater in the nippy winter air had left you with a pretty nasty cold.
Unlike peter your powers didn’t give you super healing. In fact, your powers differed from peters in more ways than one. For one thing you had small fangs which you could retract, they didn’t do much, but they were cool, and peter was mildly jealous. Another thing was you had taken on aspects of jumping spiders as you could jump higher due to your super strength and some weird spider quality peter lacked.
Like peter the bit had given your excellent eyesight, increased metabolism, a lack of thermoregulation, the weird sticky thing, the spider sense and super strength and the allergy to peppermint. But due to sharing the suit anytime you went out as “Spider-Man” you had to refrain from using your own unique powers, so you didn’t give anything away.
The thermoregulating thing may have finally come back to bite you now that you were in peters old suit. After taking one of his patrols for him so he could finish his assignment and you could get out of his room in the tower, the cold had made you sick. Heres the thing about having a high metabolism when you don’t have an increased healing factor. It went one of two ways. Either you had flash colds which were taken care of quickly and at a much faster rate than the average human, or if it was stronger than your immune system, it was quickly made into a bigger problem than it should have been due to your body processing things faster and speeding up its strength.
Anytime this had happened in the past, due to not being able to go to a regular hospital, you had thanked the gods for May choosing a career in nursing. Though she had been able to treat you superficially with regular medicine and not anything made for super soldiers or spiders as that was a Bruce banner specialty that was unique to the tower's med bay. So, you often just had to ride it out and if things got really bad, peter would try and smuggle you some of his medicine out of the tower for you.
So, this is where you ended up. Curled up in Peters bed in the tower, stifling rough sounding coughs into his pillow and making a mental note to wash his sheets soon. You were doing your best to remain quiet and not alert either of the super spies to your presence or any of the other avengers. You thanked Thor that only you and peter had super hearing which meant you could usually tell if someone was in the halls.
Feeling miserable you buried yourself further into the sheets and shivered, it was so cold but in reality, you probably had a high fever. Your lungs let out a wheezing noise whenever you exhaled, and you were beginning to think maybe your asthma was back. Unlike peter you had not been so lucky as to have had it cured by the bite.
Your asthma puffer was one of the few things that survived your apartment being destroyed. As you laid in bed feeling awful you thought back to that day.
You thanked the gods you had been out at the time. You had gone to a coffee shop downtown with your sketchbook, laptop and usual things you took out, including a range of art supplies and of course your emergency puffer which peter had managed to smuggle out which had doses that worked with your metabolism.
You were broken from your daydreams as another harsh coughing fit wracked your body. From what you could hear nobody was in the halls, but you did your best to keep quiet regardless. The wheezing that trailed after each breath was getting worse and your lungs were feeling tight.
You had been trying to use the puffer sparingly so it didn’t run out because you didn’t know if and or when peter could get you another. But as drawing breath grew harder you made the executive call to use it. You rolled over in the bed and threw an arm down to fish around for your red backpack. Finding it you fiddled with the zip before your fingers wrapped around the cool plastic of the device. Tony being tony had insisted it have a Spiderman case thinking it was peters which ended up being rather ironic as it was fitting for you too.
You tried fruitlessly one last time to draw breath before achieving nothing but a crackling wheeze. Screw it. You uncapped the red lid and held it to your lips, propping yourself up on an elbow in an attempt to sit u straight to take it.
You exhaled and inhaled repeating it once more before drawing in a lungful of the super-medicine. Almost straight away you began to feel better. Your fast metabolism speeding up the medicines process.
Feeling like you could breathe again you replaced the cap and put it on the nightstand before curling up in the sheets again feeling cold still but also slightly damp from the thin layer of sweat that had been forming all morning.
You were dressed in spider-man pjs which had a thin t-shirt and long pants. You had considered getting up to grab one of peters hoodies to get warm or another blanket but the idea of standing up made your head spin.
You nestled back into the sheets and let your eyes fall shut despite it being almost midday. The curtains were drawn and so it didn’t bother you too much. You began to drift off into a semi-peaceful sleep broken by harsh coughing fits which were becoming harder to stifle in your half asleep and fevered state.
Meanwhile the avengers had just finished their morning training session, one which Peter had joined for once. Peter being Peter had barely broken a sweat and as a result had opted to hang out on the communal floor while everyone went o freshen up.
Stark had designed the tower well. With Peter’s bedroom being on the same floor as Natasha’s who was rather protective of her younger spider counterpart as well as Wanda’s, Yelena’s, Kate’s and a few spares. The rest of the avengers were a floor above.
At first peter had been a bit miffed about being on a floor of just girls but he ended up liking it a lot. And he had a second bedroom in the master suite with tony and Pepper which he proffered anyway. The one on the avenger's floor was more for if Tony and Pepper were away, and he wanted to be around the others.
Natasha was headed for her room after waving goodbye to peter who had settled down to watch more star-wars, when she paused in the hallway.
Retracing her steps she found herself stood outside peters bedroom door. Frowning she pressed an ear to the door and froze. Someone was inside and coughing. Knowing it wasn’t peter, nat carefully twisted the door handle.
Peter being peter had prepared for almost anything. As soon as Natasha had set foot inside peters room Jarvis had alerted peter of her presence.
Meanwhile Natasha peered into the dimly lit room. The lump in the bed was wriggling around and coughing. Nat was on high alert by now. She realised this person was ill but how had they managed to get in without Jarvis knowing? And why were they in peters bed?
She crossed the threshold and walked over to the bed. Taking note of the backpack on the floor and puffer on the bedside table as well as your spider-man pjs which had been a gag gift from Peter last Christmas.
Nat stood and observed for a second. Looking down at your flushed face which was burning with fever and the harsh coughs that were wracking your weak form.
Nat watched helplessly for a second unsure of how to deal with a sick intruder.
She hesitated before extending a hand to your forehead and feeling a very high fever. She sucked a breath. Despite being an intruder she had some ideas as to why you may have been here. Your likeness to peter wasn’t hard to spot. Yet. She was unsure.
Peeling of the blankets to get a better look at you, as she did you made a small noise of discontent and curled into a shaking ball still fever addled and half asleep.
Before she could continue the door opened and peter looked in.
“Uhh M-Ms Romanoff…” Peter said looking guilty as he stepped in and closed the door again.
“Peter, do you know who this is?” Natasha asked getting straight to the point. Peter hesitated and rubbed the back of his neck.
“Y-yes.” He said looking at your sick form with a frown.
“Peter.” She said crossing her arms. “Care to share whats going on?” Nat said as she headed for Peter’s bathroom.
“Um… She … she’s,, my sister.” Peter said unsurely. Natasha returned after a second and nodded. Now holding the first aid kit from peters bathroom in her arms.
“Anything else i should know?” She asked walking over to the bed and sitting down to rifle through the first aid kit.
“Petey?” You mumbled hearing his voice.
Peter seemed to break out of his trance and came to your side. “I’m here Y/n.” He said.
“‘S cold.” You mumbled making peter frown.
“Actually, I think she has a fever.” Nat said as she found what she was looking for, pulling out a thermometer from the kit.
Nat gently placed the thermometer under your tongue and turned to look at peter.
“Pete, you’re not in trouble but i need some more information.” Natasha said.
“This is Y/n. She’s, my sister. Her apartment was levelled in the last attack and so she’s been staying here ever since. She’s not a threat I promise.” Peter said almost tripping over his words in order to explain.
Before Nat could respond the thermometer beeped and she removed it to look at the small screen, drawing another round of coughs from you. Natasha rubbed your back with one hand while frowning at the screen.
“Peter… she should be dead. This says 106. There’s more isn’t there.” Nat said with some urgency as she began peeling the rest of the blankets off you in an attempt to cool you down.
“Ahh … yes. She had powers. Like mine. She … she wears the suit sometimes.” Peter said standing nearby and watching with a worried expression.
“Ok. So, she has spider powers? High metabolism, super strength, etc.” Nat said and Peter nodded. “Why hasn’t her healing fixed this?” Nat said feeling your forehead again.
“She doesn’t have it. Her powers differ slightly.” Peter explained as Nat cursed softly in Russian.
“Her fever’s still rising.” Nat said making a decision. “We need to cool her down fast before she gets too hot for her own good. Jarvis?” Natasha said and peter looked panicked for a second worried about more people finding out about you.
“Ms Romanoff-“ he started.
“Pete, we need to cool her down stat. I need some help.” She said and peter nodded still looking nervous. “Jarvis call wanda to Peter’s bedroom.” Nat said and peter relaxed slightly. Wanda was ok. She would be good for the situation.
“What are you going to do?” Peter asked.
“She needs a bath and I doubt you want to do that.” She said with a small smirk and Peter flushed for a second.
“Defiantly not.” He said shaking his head.
“Is there someone we can call? Someone who she’d be ok with dressing her once we cool her down. She may be sick but i don’t want to invade her privacy.” Nat said as she scooped you up from the bed and into her lap while they waited for wanda to arrive. You cough harshly again and wheezed making nat frown and look to peter.
“Asthma.” He said.
“Runs in the family huh?” She joked reaching over for the puffer on the bedside table.
“Uh… about that.” Peter said looking guilty. “Mine was cured by the bite. I need the puffers for her.” He said looking sheepish. Expecting Nat to be mad she grinned.
“You’re a good brother.” She said as she uncapped the device and pressed it to your lips.
“Exhale.” She instructed and by some small miracle you complied. When you went to inhale, she administered the medicine and told you to hold.
Recapping the device, she rubbed a hand up and down your arm. “Good job sweetie.” She said and felt you relax into her arms some more as you let out a breath.
The two sat in silence for another second before the door opened again and wanda slipped inside.
She was freshly showered, her hair damp and she smelt like jasmine and honey. She was dressed in a simple faded black t-shirt and grey track pants.
“Whats-“ she began before pausing, her eyes caught on you laid in Natashas lap half asleep.
“Wanda,” Nat said. “Meet Y/n. Peter’s older sister.” She said.
“Okay…” Wanda said looking lost before her expression morphed to concern as you coughed. “Is she ok?” Wanda asked.
“No. That’s why you’re here. Long story short, peter smuggled her into the tower, and she has spider powers and her fever is really high. We need to cool her down.” Nat said and wanda swallowed and nodded. “Peter?” Nat said turning to the younger parker.
“Yes?” He said looking up from where he had been studying his shoes closely.
“You never answered my question. Is there someone we can call to come and get her dressed after wanda and i bathe her?” Nat asked and peter blushed again and nodded.
“I can call May. It’s her day off.” He said and Nat nodded.
“You do that. Wanda and I will look after Y/n. We promise not to go further than her outer clothes.” She said and scooped you up into her arms. She headed for Peter’s bathroom with wanda trailing behind. You remained limp in her arms snuggled into her chest in an unconscious need for companionship.
Once the two redheads had you in the bathroom wanda looked at nat. “Now what?” She asked and Natasha smirked.
“Now we take her clothes off.” She said and gently she lifted your arms from where you were laid on the floor in her lap and pulled the spider-man t-shirt off over your head. Wanda blushed slightly at the sight of your red sports bra despite having seen Nat and herself train in about the same if not less clothes.
“You wanna help?” Nat asked with a grin that only served to make Wanda’s blush deepen. You squirmed slighting in Nat’s lap but stopped when she gently rubbed your arm after you buried your warm face into her stomach.
Wanda rolled her eyes in an attempt to feign nonchalance despite being way past that point.
She lifted her hands, and the familiar red glow of magic surrounded her hands. Her magic lifted your hips so Nat could slide off your pants. Wanda blushed again at the sight of your Black Widow boxers. Natasha however grinned at them finding it both adorable and very cute.
After a beat Wanda met Nat’s eyes again. “Now what?”
“We get her in the bath. She needs to be cooled down Asap.” Nat said hoisting you into her arms again as you wriggled, turning and grumbling into her chest.
“Not gonna lie she’s pretty cute.” Nat said and Wanda avoided her eyes as she used her magic to fill the bath with tepid water.
Natasha gently lowered you into the tub ignoring your whining protests and running her hands through your hair which seemed to calm you down as you relaxed again.
“So … now we wait?” Wanda guessed and Natasha nodded.
“Yep. Unless you really want to steal May’s job of getting her dressed again.” Nat teased making Wanda splutter slightly. “Im kidding.” Nat said. “I know what hot women do to your brain.” She winked and wanda slouched slightly.
After a second you grumbled and blearily opened your eyes, squinting at the two women.
“Peter is so dead.” You mumbled before letting your eyes drift shut again. There was a pause before wanda and nat both started laughing.
You groaned. “Peter!” You yelled before coughing again making Wanda and Nat frown. But before they could do anything the door opened to show a beat red peter with his hands covering his eyes.
“Yes?” He said in a small voice.
“When I get out of here, you’re dead.” You mumbled with a foggy glare sent in his direction.
“Hey. Peter did the right thing.” Another voice said from behind Peter.
“May?” You called. “Oh, wtf is going on right now.” You mumbled.
“Whats going on kiddo is that, once again, you failed to ask for help which landed you here.” May said entering the bathroom with a change of clothes.
“Nice to see you Ms Parker.” Nat said and wanda echoed.
“Please. Call me May. And thank you for looking after her.” May said and you groaned.
“I hate all of you.” You said hiding your face in your hands.
“Uh huh. Sure, you do.” May teased.
“It was no problem. Ms- May.” Wanda said. “We’ll wait in peters bedroom while you… yeah.” Wanda said before making a hasty retreat. Nat laughed and followed her out.
May gave you a disappointed frown once she had shut the door and turned back to you with a sigh.
“Honey.” She said.
“I know… I know.” You said still feeling like death but slightly less so. “Did the black widow and scarlet witch just really see me in my underpants?” You asked.
“Yes, and I serves you right for hiding illness … again!” She said as she came over, rolling up her sleeves and helping you out, practically holding all your weight for you as your head spun.
May frowned and guided you over to the covered toilet seat to dress you again.
Gently she began to towel you off and change you into fresh clothes.
“I can do it myself.” You whined but May shot you a look and you knew better than to challenge the angry Parker and you and peter had called her as kids when she was upset at you for something.
“Now, once you’re dressed you are going to thank those two for their kindness and your coming home with me.” May said.
“But-“ you began.
“No buts.” She said and helped you up, now fully dressed.
She helped you over to the door opening it despite still holding you up. The two of you shuffled into the room where Peter, Nat and Wanda were sat on Peter’s bed talking in hushed voices.
“Pete. I love you but I can hear everything you’re saying dumbass.” You said rolling your eyes and May lightly hit your arm.
“Right.” He said rubbing his neck. “Super hearing.” He nodded.
“I’ll add it to the list.” Nat grinned and you groaned before May jabbed you in the side and looked at the two girls.
You coughed at her actions making her frown but quickly got it under control for the sake of your already fragile image.
“Thank you, Wanda and Natasha, for helping me.” You said still leaning heavily on May. Now you had been standing for a bit the room began to spin. Your face went a shade paler making Natasha frown and stand. It was a split second before you stumbled, almost bringing May down with you in the process. Luckily strong arms wrapped around you, and you looked up into Nat’s pale green and worried eyes.
“Y/n?” You finally registered she was talking to you. “Y/n?” She asked again a little louder.
You let out a soft groan and she huffed. “Right. Up we go.” She said hoisting you into your arms and making the room spin again as you buried your face in her arm.
You felt her gently set you down on the bed and feel your forehead.
Distantly you heard May saying something along the lines of taking you home and the sound of Natasha arguing they were better equipped to help with your powers and sickness. May relented and you went back to dozing.
“What happened?” Peter asked from where he was stood by the door.
“Probably got too dizzy from standing up. Her body’s already trying to fight off sickness.” Natasha said and Wanda nodded.
“Peter? Don’t you have a super high metabolism?” Wanda asked.
“Yeah?” He said looking lost as May seemed to catch on.
“Y/n when did you last eat?” May asked and you groaned and buried your face in the pillow. “Well, that answers that.” May said rolling her eyes.
“Peter, do you have any of those energy bars that steve uses?” Wanda asked and peter nodded and headed for his bedside drawer.
He fished around and pulled out one of them and passed it to nat. She unwrapped it and shoved it into your hands.
“Eat.” She said and you made a groan of protest. “It’ll help.” She said in a softer tone.
“Fine.” You said sitting up against the headboard and nibbling on it slowly.
“Better.” Nat said and you frowned.
“You know you’re cute when you’re mad.” Wanda said looking surprised by her own words and blushing at Natasha’s knowing gaze.
“Get some rest маленький паук” Nat said once you had finished eating, and she begun to shepherd everyone out of the room.
Cooking With A Cold
〖500 Follower Prompt: “Oh sweetheart, you’re worse than I thought” + “Sorry, I can’t stop sneezing” + 🏥〗
〖Summary: You hurt yourself while trying to cook a romantic meal for your girlfriend.〗
〖Word Count: 1.5k〗
〖Pairing: Natasha x Sick Reader〗
〖A/N: Hello! So, some of you may know there was a bit of a "situation" last week which threw me off a bit and I decide to postpone posting this. I know, it's been months, but I really needed to recompose and regroup which changed my plan. Sorry, I know this is a bit long but I hope you enjoy!〗
☾Masterlists☽ ☾500 Masterlist☽
Natasha had just gotten home from a long mission and when she had come into the kitchen you’d screeched at her to get out, not wanting to ruin the surprise. She’d left laughing and was currently sitting on the couch in preparation for what she didn't expect to be an incredibly fancy dinner. She knew that you hated to cook and assumed you’d just thrown a few frozen things in the oven and mac and cheese or something on the stove.
Instead, you had taken it upon yourself to make her favorite dinner and a dessert to go with. Over the two weeks that she had been gone, you’d been watching cooking videos and practicing in your spare time. There was a lot of spare time. You had decided to make her a medium-rare steak with baked asparagus and sauteed mushrooms. Following that there was a cheesecake in the fridge that had come out much better than you’d expected.
When planning this fancy meal that you very much didn't know how to cook, you had been so excited. You were thrilled to get to spend real time with your girlfriend and you wanted her to tell you everything about the ocean and beach and blue skies. It hadn't been a particularly dangerous mission, and you were sure that she’d be happy to tell you all of the more fun details.
So of course, your body had decided to throw something at you. Maybe it was the long nights spent awake wishing you weren't alone in your bed, maybe it was the fact that one of the Avengers (Clint) seemed intent on spending time with you even though he was clearly sick (it was probably the second one), but the cause didn't matter because you were sick. Sick sick.
You didn't have a little sniffle that you could push through with a dose of cold medicine and a few tissues, you had a full-on everything hurts, whole body feels hot and cold, stuffy and runny nose, dizziness, chest cough that won't let up kind of cold. Or maybe the flu. You weren't sure, but that didn't particularly matter to you either. For now, all that mattered was you staying upright for long enough to finish this meal.
Between breaks of sitting on the floor and about one million tissues, you’d managed to get down to the last stretches. The steak was done, and ready to be cut. The mushrooms were sitting on the stove covered by a pot lid to keep them warm. All that was left was the asparagus sitting in the oven and the timer for those had just gone off.
You pulled yourself to your feet and stumbled slightly, the world shifting quickly around you as your center of gravity changed. It was all you could do not to grab the hot stovetop and stumble into the counter instead, hoping that you hadn't made too much noise. You may have felt awful, but you didn't need Natasha to know that.
With your brain on autopilot, you stuck your hands into the oven and grabbed the metal pan with a bare hand. You were so out of it and ready to be finished cooking dinner that you hadn't realized you had forgotten the oven mitt until you felt white-hot pain shoot through your hand.
You pulled back with a strangled gasp, catching the back of your hand on one of the oven racks as you did. Tears of pain clouded your vision momentarily and you clutched your hand to your chest, unsure what to do. The gasp led to a fit of coughing that left you doubled over and panicking. If you just kept standing there your dinner would burn, but you were pretty sure that your hand was useless. And the room was still spinning.
Now you’d have to get Natasha and she would be upset because not only had you ruined dinner, but she’d also need to take care of you. You stood there frozen, and to your utter horror, you began to cry. The frustration of it all was too much. All you’d wanted to do was make a nice hot dinner for your incredibly busy girlfriend and now you needed her help.
“Hey Nat?” You called out in a watery voice, congestion seeping into your worlds. You sniffled and brought your tightly clenched hand up to wipe your nose on your sleeve, doing your best not to disturb the burn. A tiny part of your brain was telling you that you should probably be running it under cool water or at least stick it in the fridge, but it hadn't quite caught up to the part that was shutting down the pain.
Natasha, bounced into the room, her smile lighting up her eyes falling as she saw the twisted expression on your face and the protective way you were holding your hand. You could feel your lower lip quivering and your nose might have been running again but you weren't sure, you were just humiliated. To be safe, you swiped your hand against your fist and sniffled.
“Oh dorogory, what happened?” She asked, rushing over to wrap her arms around you. You laid your head against her shoulder and let out a whimper, wishing that you didn't have to admit to your failure out loud. This was all so humiliating.
She pulled back for a moment and cupped your cheek, lips pursed, and eyebrows furrowed. She glanced back at the half-open oven, then at your hand, then back into your eyes and you watched her face go from pure terror for your safety to understanding concern.
“Show me please?” Nat murmured, not wanting to force your hand open and risk hurting you more. You started to nod, but quickly wrenched away to sneeze into your elbow. One sneeze turned into four which turned into a bout of raspy coughing which made you glad you’d managed to turn in time. You didn't want to get her sick too.
You extended your hand at the end of the fit, revealing the blistering burn across your palm.
“Oh, Y/n, I could tell you were sick, but sweetheart, you’re worse than I thought!” She exclaimed, studying your burn intensely as she flicked her eyes up to your mess of a face. You wrinkled your nose and sniffled again, blinking rapidly at her. Black dots had appeared in the corners of your vision in these last few seconds, and you were beginning to wonder how much longer you’d be able to stand up.
“Shit, okay. Let's get you sitting.” You didn't have to say a word, Natasha was right there wrapping her arm around your waist and leading you to the living room. She even managed to turn the oven off as she practically carried you out and set you down on the sofa.
You leaned against the arm of the couch and rested your head on the cushion, another low rumbling cough echoing through your chest. It hurt to breathe, and you could hear a slight wheeze that might be more audible to those with less clogged ears.
“Okay. This hand really doesn't look great baby and I don't like the sound of your breathing. You’re going to hate this, but there’s an Urgent Care a few minutes away and I think we need to go. They might be able to get you something for the pain and something to open up those lungs, okay?” She didn't bother to sugarcoat (much) and her tone made it clear that she wasn't asking. Whether you wanted to or not, you had earned yourself a trip to Urgent Care.
Instead of answering you sneezed again, barely able to direct the sneezes to your lap rather than in her direction. You knew it was gross, but you couldn't seem to make your limbs cooperate the way you wanted them to. Lifting a pinky felt like lifting a thousand tons.
“M’sorry. I can’t stop sneezing.” You mumbled, hoping those words were enough to convey just how sorry you were, not just for the sneezing but for everything. Natasha kissed the top of your head and pressed a tissue to your nose, guiding your uninjured hand to hold it there.
“No apologies my love, just sit tight. I’ll get your shoes and your favorite blanket then we’ll head out, okay?” She soothed, running your fingers through your hair as she talked.
Her voice was the sound of summer rain on a warm night, slow rolling waves on a white sand beach, and birds chirping in a lush green forest. It was every comforting thing anyone could think of plus ten more. She was all that. She never failed to make you feel safe, loved, accepted, and, most importantly, worthy of feeling all of those good things.
You nodded wearily and let yourself melt against the couch as she moved around you, turning off lights and gathering whatever she thought that you would need. You were dreading whatever might happen at Urgent Care, but if she was there you knew that it would be okay. She’d make sure that it was all okay. And when you felt better, you’d make her that damn dinner.
The sick assassin
Pairings: Natasha x you
Words: 1346
Warnings: none
Summary: after returning from a three day mission, you expect to see your girlfriend happy to see you. But that wasn’t the case, and it only takes a simple sneeze to figure out why.
Notes: Thank you bestie for the idea. @goldenempyrean
Tumblr media
If there was something you hated more than anything else in this world, it was debriefing. Above all else, debriefing with Tony Stark. It wasn't that you disliked the man. In fact, you were actually quite fond of him. But he talked. Oh man could he freaking talk. It was like his mouth moves before his brain gives him permission to do so.
No matter what cues you gave; how many times you'd try to politely interrupt him, he would pay you absolutely no mind. Often times, you'd tolerate it. He meant no harm after all. But due to the fact you were running on just two hours of sleep, your patience was wearing a little thin.
You were exhausted, and all you wanted to do was find your girlfriend so you could shower together before succumbing to dreamland.
With the knowledge that you'd be here for hours if you let him continue, you simply slide the completed mission report over to him before quietly slipping out of room. With the intention of going to find Natasha, your feet take you towards the common room where she'd typically wait for you after missions.
But much to your chagrin, she wasn't there. No one was. The room was completely empty.
"Great." You sigh heavily, deciding to head through to the kitchen to grab a drink before making any further attempts to figure out just where she'd disappeared off to.
Turns out, that wasn't necessary, because sat at the table was the woman herself. You feel whatever stress that had continue to linger leave at the sight of her. You knew she knew you were there, and because of that you expect her to beam at the sight of you before throwing herself into your arms.
But that doesn't happen. She barely even sends a glance your way. Weird.
"Nat? I'm home." You murmur like she didn't already know, setting down your bag before making your way over to her. You were tired, and you just wanted her to hold you.
Before you could even make it two steps however, she was already up and on her feet and setting her empty coffee cup into the sink. You go to smile and hold out your arms, under the assumption she'd walk into them, but she simply sends you a half hearted smile before grabbing her phone and leaving the room.
What on earth...?
Feeling a little hurt and very much confused, you follow her knowing she was heading back to your shared room. You push open the door and see her rifling through her dresser seemingly searching for something.
"Nat? What's going on? What are you doing?"
She glances back at you, "Getting clothes?" She retorts like you were dumb, and if you weren't so focused on why she was acting so weird, you'd hear the unfamiliar hoarseness in her voice. But you take absolutely no notice, feeling a little hurt that she was speaking to you in such a way.
"I see that. Let me grab some too so we can-"
"No y/n," she cuts you off, and you freeze midway to your own dresser. "I want to shower by myself."
You could only bring yourself to murmur a small, "Oh." in response, feeling your eyes burning with the familiar onslaught of tears. This never happens. No matter what, you always showered together after missions, no matter who's they were or how long they'd taken. It was a way to reconnect, to be close after being apart for so long. Tears would be wiped, bruises would be tenderly kissed and you'd spend over an hour simply holding one another.
It had become routine, something you both cherished and looked forward to so to be rejected so harshly made your chest physically ache. Knowing you needed to respect her boundaries, no matter how badly they hurt, you acquiesce her with only a nod and take a few steps away from her.
"Okay. That's okay. I'll-um-I'll wait." You ignore the single tear that had managed to escape as you sit down at your desk chair, completely missing the look of regret that appears briefly on Natasha's face before she reluctantly disappears into the bathroom, too busy trying to hold yourself together so you didn't fall apart in front of her.
You didn't want to cry. Not really. But you were tired, and overwhelmed, and all you had wanted was for Natasha to hold you just as she always does. You couldn't be mad at her for wanting space though, and you'd always respect her choices and boundaries.
You sniffle softly as you wipe off your cheeks with your sleeve, intending to get some more work done so there would be less to do tomorrow. Perhaps Natasha would be in a better mood then, and maybe she'd hold you. With a light sigh, you reach for your laptop.
"Huh'tsschoo!"
You startle slightly at the sound, head whipping up to face the bathroom door your girlfriend was currently behind. You wanted to call out and bless her, but something inside stops you in your tracks.
Give her some space, you remind yourself.
You bring your focus back to your laptop, interrupted again only moments later by yet more sneezes.
"H'htschoo! Huh'tsschoo! H'htschoo!"
Okay. That was concerning. Natasha never sneezes more than once. In fact, now that you think about it, you don't think you had ever heard her sneeze before. Was she...was she sick? Was that why she didn't want you near her?
Biting your bottom lip in consideration for just a moment, you close your laptop, rise to your feet and make quick work of kicking off your shoes before tentatively knocking on the bathroom door and inviting yourself in. You were immediately met with a heat that takes your breath away, and you frown in concern as you leave the door open intending to let some air inside.
"Nat?" You call in concern over the sound of the water hitting the tiled floor, reaching forward to pull the glass door of the shower open slightly. The sight that greets you all but breaks your heart. Natasha was flush in the face, eyes wet and bloodshot from what you could only assume were tears and that and even mentioning her dripping nose that she seemingly no longer cared about wiping.
She looked completely and utterly defeated.
"You're sick? Baby, why didn't you tell me?" You reach into the shower to turn down the temperature of the water before stripping off yourself and stepping inside. You hold out your hand, waiting for her to nod in consent before tenderly cupping her cheek.
Your other hand soon follows, and you can't help but pull her forward just slightly so you could press your lips against her forehead.
"I'm sorry." She chokes out, her own arms taking their rightful place around your waist, and you shake your head dismissively as you pull her properly into your arms, her bare frame flush against your own.
"It's okay. You don't have to be sorry." You cup the back of her head, combing your fingers through the wet strands.
"I do," she insists. "I was mean and ignored you and I'm sorry. I just didn't want you to see me like this. So gross and-"
You coax her head away from your chest and once again reach up to cup her cheeks, "Nuh uh. None of that. You're sick. You're allowed to be sick. It doesn't make you gross or whatever else you were going to say. And I forgive you. Yes it hurt-" you don't miss the way her eyes grow suddenly shiny at those last few words, and you pull her back to your chest and hold her as close as you possibly could.
"but I understand." You continue, "I'm not mad at you, or upset. I just want you to get better. Will you let he help you get better?"
Natasha sniffles, and nods, bringing a smile to your face for the first time in hours.
"Thank you pumpkin."
There weren’t many times where you were delusionally sleepy, for the record, the only time you were extremely clingy and completely out of it would have been when you fell ill the other month and your body decided to shut down. Of course it happens again when your girlfriends are currently away on a mission.
Tossing and turning in the mass amount of blankets sprawled on the bed, you sigh for the last time before groaning and sitting up. It was only an overnight mission but your tummy was starting to twist and your eyes were going red at the constant rubbing around them. A quiet whimper left your lips as you grabbed your phone and squinted at the harsh light. 3:04am, what a joke.
You hesitated before pressing on the contact name but another rattling cough had you calling in a frenzy. You absolutely hated being sick. It was hell for anyone involved, you despised taking any medicine, you were snappy and you were generally over everyone who tried to interact with you.
A few rings of the dial tone and it connected to the other side “Malysh? It’s three am honey go to sleep” Natasha mumbled out tiredly yet concerned as to why you’re up at the hour. “Come home please” You sniffled out and you heard a shuffle on her end. “Baby- we can’t- drogoya we’re stakehousing, we can’t get to you sweetheart. We’ll be back later today alright moya lyubov” Wanda’s sleepy voice gravelled out through the phone and it made you miss her more.
“Need yous” you whined when another cough coursed through you and you heard a curse through the line. “Oh love, I promise if you close those sleepy eyes we’ll be back before you know it okay malen'kiy detenysh” Wanda sighed sleepily and you tried to shut your eyes once more, but to no avail. “Wanda please. Need you” you whimpered and tried to get comfy again.
Not a moment later and the duo were harmonising a soft lullaby in their common tongue, Wanda slipping a few Sokovian words and Nat keeping the basis Russian. Before you knew it, you were finally catching up on the missed hours of sleep with their voices as the last thing on your mind.
<><><>
The house was silent when the two Avengers finally made it home. The TV was paused on Netflix’s telltale of a binge session asking if you were still watching your current obsessed series and the overthrow blankets were in a pile on the floor. You however, we’re nowhere in sight.
Nat dropped the overnight bags by the door and took Wanda by the wrists, dragging the exhausted witch to your shared bedroom. The minute they opened the door, they caught you in a deep chesty cough, your steady body jolting with each one. “Oh baby love” Wanda pouted sleepily and undressed herself to get into comfy clothes.
A cheeky - yet admirable - glance from Nat had Wanda blushing and sidestepping from the gaze lightly. “Shut up you, go get changed and let’s snuggle please” her voice was light and playful but deep down the three of you knew she was always bashful about her body.
One of the many benefits of Nat having the most control in the relationship was forcing Wanda to feel good about her body before she could literally feel good. As soon as Wanda slipped under the covers, you curled into her sighing in relief at her presence. Nat scooted in behind you and you instinctively reached back, slowly waking up from your slumber.
“Hi” You mumbled into the quiet of the afternoon and practically into Wanda’s boobs, giggling when you nuzzled your face into them and kissed over her heart gently. Another cough rattled your bones and you whimpered when the attack was over, pulling nat closer so she was spooning you from behind.
“You’re adorable when you’re like this. All clingy and melty” Natasha let out a small chuckle but nestled her head in the crook of your neck. A low whine left your lips when she places butterfly kisses along your neck and whispered a small ‘i love you’ in Russian. “Our sick lil angel” Wanda pouted when you pressed your face further into her boobs.
“Hey, I’m not your pillow you goof” she rolled her eyes at the movement but a quick suck from you shut her up really quick. One look from Natasha and Wanda blushed, she was always so bashful when she was exposed with underlying tones. Natasha was never the one to judge but always the one to use it to her advantage.
Hopefully you get better soon because with the rate that your clinginess is going, Wanda was sure to be overstimulated and Natasha just can’t focus when her girls just so beautiful together.
In the meantime, Wanda will just have to keep her composure just enough for you to fall back asleep. At least until the opportunity for a shower arises anyway, cause if you think Natasha is letting Wanda off with nothing but a glance of admiration for the night then you’re thinking wrong.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
As much as Wanda was trying to sleep in for once, she couldn’t relax because someone was thinking loudly. She’d tried to ignore it but it was becoming unbearable, she would have to find the source of the loud thoughts.
Walking through the compound, the noise was becoming louder and louder until she reached the source: Natasha’s bedroom.
Despite being mad at the way the widow had treated you the previous day, she could tell that Nat was in distress, so she knocked the door waiting for a response.
After knocking a few times, Wanda decided to open the door to the redhead’s room, they were pretty good friends after all so it wouldn’t be absurd.
“Nat?” She asked, looking for signs of her friend.
Then she noticed a lump on the bed. It was Natasha. She was tossing and turning in her sleep, clearly dealing with the effects of a nightmare.
With a swift of her hands, the witch made Natasha wake up, gasping for air and with tears rolling down her cheeks.
“Bad dreams?” Wanda asked as she sat at the edge of the bed.
Natasha flew on the brunette’s arms, holding her tightly.
As the redhead cried, the memories from the previous day entered Wanda’s mind, telling her everything she needed to know, especially the spell that Nat had been trapped in.
“Shh, it’s okay, I understand now.” Wanda said, calming down the crying spy.
“I didn’t mean to be rude to her, I’m the worst girlfriend ever.” She said, sobbing.
“No, you were under a spell, none of that was really you, okay?”
“Do you think she’ll forgive me?”
“I’m sure she will, let’s check on her.”
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
When the girls got to your room, the first thing they noticed was the heat coming from you. You were curled under several layers of blankets, a desperate attempt at getting warm. Little did you knew that you were warm, scorching with a fever.
“Wands, she’s too hot…” Natasha said, caressing your sweaty hair as the brunette got the blankets away from you and went into the bathroom searching for a thermometer.
In your hazy state, you couldn’t tell if they were actually there, so you squeezed Nat’s hand to see if she was real.
She noticed it and turned her attention to you.
“Hi, my love…”
“Please don’t talk to me.” You said, turning away from her as you got the urge to cry.
“I’m so sorry about being a bitch to you, it wasn’t my intention…” The redhead said, with tears filling her eyes.
“You don’t need to pretend that you care, y’know?” You said, sadness slipping into your words.
“Of course I care about you, Y/N, I love you!”
“Leave me alone, please.” You said weakly, avoiding her gaze.
As Wanda came back with the device in hand, she used her magic to put you in a peaceful slumber, to avoid stressing you out.
“Nat, I can help you explain the whole situation, but now we have to sort out this fever.” Wanda said as she managed to hold the thermometer under in your mouth, reading it when it beeped.
“39.6, we have to get her to the shower.”
As your girlfriend picked you up bridal style and made her way to the bathroom , she glanced at you, noticing the state that you were in.
“It’s all my fault, I should have taken care of her.” Natasha said, tightening her hold on you.
“Hey, we know it wasn’t your intention. You could never be like that and we know this, she’s going to understand that but now we need to break that fever.” The witch said, squeezing Nat’s shoulder lightly.
They both got under the cold water with you, as you were practically dead weight. As your temperature lowered, you got more conscious of your surroundings and were able to stand up with their help.
The girls got dried and dressed (with your clothes) and Natasha was getting you dressed while Wanda changed your sheets.
You were still silent due to your delirious state, and Nat whispered sweet nothings to you.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen you this sick…” She said while untangling your hair. You just hummed in response, lacking the energy to answer properly.
“Come on, let’s get her back to bed.” Wanda said, helping Nat support you.
As they tucked you in, you got caught in a congested sounding coughing fit, and the brunette winced at the sound.
“You sound worst than earlier…” She said, pouring a dose of medicine, which you took without complaints.
They retook your temperature, in hopes that you were out of danger.
“38.2, far from ideal, but better than earlier.” Natasha said.
“I’m going to bring her some soup.” Wanda said as she left the room.
“I’m sorry…” You said weakly at your girlfriend.
“Baby, You don’t need to apologize for feeling unwell. I’m the one who has to apologize. Y/N, I was really mean to you and it wasn’t my intention, I need you to know that it wasn’t me, I’m going to explain it to you once you’re better, okay?”
You nodded and smiled shyly at the redhead, feeling the truth behind her words.
Wanda got back with your soup, and the girls spoon fed you, saying kind words of encouragement throughout the process.
As you finished, Natasha gave Wanda a tight hug, feeling grateful for everything.
“No need to thank me, I’d do anything for you guys.” The brunette said, blushing.
“Wands, will you lay down with us?” You asked weakly, wanting to be in the presence of both women.
She looked at Natasha for approval.
“Please Wanda, can you stay with us?” Natasha said, holding the witch’s hand.
“Yes, I’d love to.”
And you spent the next few days resting with double the cuddles, until you were fully healed.
❀ A/N: This was requested by a sweet anon when my blog didn't shit itself a while ago. Thank you for understanding!! <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nats ears perked as she heard a soft sneeze come from the nursery. Nat had just gotten back from a mission, only to come home to find her baby sick and needing her mommy. She set her book down and entered your room, sighing as she sees you on your bed covered in a mountain of blankets. Sitting beside you, a pile of used tissues as well. Knowing what to do, her mommy instincts take over immediately.
"Oh my little spider, are you not feeling very good?" You shake your head with a small whimper to accompany it. With a small frown on her lips, she rubs your back as she helps you grab the bowl beside your bed. "It's ok my маленький паук (Little spider), let it all out, then we can get you in a nice warm bath, ok?"
Nodding weakly you continue to let out the remains of your small breakfast, whimpering when you finish. "Here, love drink some water." Nat puts a fresh glass of water to your lips, and you graciously take a few gulps, sighing as you lean against her.
"Oh baby, I know. Im so sorry that I wasn't here when you started feeling icky. Did Aunty Wanda take good care of you while I was gone?" With a small smile, you nod at the thought of your "aunt" coming over to help you with some soup and getting you to bed for your nap.
"Alllll-righty, let's get you in that bath, how does that sound?" All you let out are a few whines here and there, making Nat fall for you all over again. As she picks you up, you cling to her like a sloth to her mother, making her smile and hold you even tighter.
"Mama, baba? Pees?" It took her a minute to process what you had said, but she knows 'baba' when she hears it. "Do you want your bottle, little one? Aw, my baby wants some milk? Alright, let's get you nice and warm in the tub first, ok?" You nod and happily watch your mommy as she fills the tub with warm water. Nat made sure to pour your favorite [add scent here] scented bubble bath to the running water, absolutely loving your reaction to all of the bubbles floating around.
You nod in excitement at her next sentence; "I know you love the bubbles, рыбочка (little fish)."
Once the bath was filled to a good hight, she gently got you undressed and sat you in the warm water. "How does that feel, little one? Nice and warm? Not too hot?" She asks, but you don't listen as your baby brain takes over. She chuckles and ruffles your hair, smiling as your giggles fill the bathroom.
Nat watches you from the small kitchen, just in eye line of the tub as she makes your bottle. The sight of you playing with the bubbles and your toy duck made Nat melt. She took a sweet picture with the bubbles around your body and saved it to her "little spider" album on her phone. Quickly coming back to you, she smiles as your face lights up when she comes into the bathroom. "Mama! Mama! Duggy, duggy!" You hold up your duck with a bright smile and Nat gently boops your nose.
"Yes, ducky! Your very cute ducky." She says, starting to undress as well. Sitting in the bath with you has been a joy to Nat ever since you first started becoming comfortable in your little space around her. She loves how you lay on her chest and lift the bubbles along her skin. She absolutely loves being with you and so close to you.
She reaches for your warm bottle on the soft rug by the tub and gently moves your hair from your face as you lay on her chest. "Here you go baby, open up." You open your mouth willingly, happily sucking on the nipple of the bottle in Nats hands. "There you go дорогая (Sweetheart). Mama's got you." She whispers, her nails tickling your back softly as you doze off on her chest.
A small cough escaped your mouth every few minutes, but the steam from the bathroom has helped with your congestion. "You'll be just fine, my love, I'll take good care of you."
I think if Nat was sick she would never admit it.
Like you’d ask her if she wasn’t feeling well and she’d be like ‘no no, I’m fine..*sniffle*’ while nearly dying cuz of a badass cold or smth and still working.
Stubborn tiny tomato readhead😐
Just A Cough
Warnings: none? just a bit of a kinky joke thrown in there
Words: 489
A/N: this is so accurate, Nat would so be a stubborn tomato red-head 😭
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The room house was dark as it was 12 AM when the red-head enters the house, she could feel a dizzying headache in her forehead. As stubborn as she is, she chooses to ignore it and steps into your shared bedroom.
The creak of the bedroom door awakens you, you flutter your eyes open as you slowly wake up. You squint your eyes, focusing on the woman in the room. “Nat? How.. how did the mission go darling?” she responds, “Good, got some new intel on Hydra as well.” you knew better than to recognize that raspy voice, raspier than usual that is.
“Oh okay.. how are you feeling Tasha?” you move the covers to the side, gesturing her to lay next to you. She takes a seat beside you, “I'm– fine, why are you asking detka?” you smile, giving her a small shrug. “Can't I ask how my wife is feeling?” she weakly smiles, laying her head on your shoulder.
“I guess you can.” you bring a hand up to stroke her hair, furrowing your brows in worry when you notice the dampness in her hair. “Did it rain on your way back Natty?” she nods, “Yeah.. why?” you hum in response, “No reason.” she mutters out a long, exaggerated “Okayy..”
You sigh, pressing a gentle kiss to the top of her head. “You're forehead is warm Tasha.” she frowns, shaking her head. “No it's not, your hands are just too cold.” you look up at her with a look that seems like a mix of, ‘a worried wife’ and ‘a disappointed mom’.
“You are so stubborn Nat. You're sick, lemme take care of you.” she huffs, the pouty frown never leaving her angelic face. You smile at her, nudging her shoulder, “Be a good girl and let mommy take care of you.”
She widens her eyes, “Hey! That's my line moya lyubov!” you giggle at her reaction, “I'm sorry darling but,” you lift her head from your shoulder, and gently place it on the pillows. “I, am going to get you some medicine. I know you don't like it, but I'm not taking any excuses.”
She whines, sitting up from the pillows. “I'm not sick! I promise baby.” you raise your brow, crossing your arms around your chest. “Really? So.. you wouldn't mind if I were to kiss you on the lips?” she grumbles something under her breath, “Uh.. nope. Go ahead.”
You smirk, moving closer to her. Just as you were about to give her a kiss, she interrupts you with a sneeze. “I–” you laugh, giving a kiss to her cheek. “Bless you, but you're busted. Nice try Natasha.” she opens her mouth to argue, only to be stopped by another sneeze.
“Bless you.. now, how does that medicine sound now my love?” she feels that straining headache come back, “Whatever.” is all she says, only you would know that was her admitting her defeat.
Not Even Sickness
Tumblr media
“How’s your head?” she asks pressing the back of her hand to your forehead.
“Mmm…” you moan at the cool feeling that spreads from the touch of her hand.
“What’s that babe?” she presses for an answer while pouring you a glass of water and setting it on the bedside table. She frowns noticing the chicken sandwich she made for you at lunch time has barely been touched.
“I said…” you reply while turning to face her tucking your hands in between your thighs for warmth, “…my head is fine you’ve never had any complaints before.” You start to laugh at your own joke before you’re hit with a series of coughs.
“Horndog” she says smiling while coaxing you to sit up. Pushing your shoulders back so you’re leaning against the headboard she pulls the blankets closer to your body.
“Drink this.” It comes out more a command than anything else as she practically pops two ibuprofen into your mouth and forces you to take a large sip from the glass she had just refilled on your nightstand.
“Geez Nat take it slow I wasn’t ready yet” you sputter a little wiping the corners of your mouth with the sleeve of your shirt.
“Oh really?” she winks, “that’s not what you said the other night” she counters as she smooths some hair away from your face.
You roll your eyes at her as embarrassment makes you sink into the covers. Covering your face with the blankets Nat let’s out a chuckle as she braces herself, looking down at you with both hands on either side of your head.
“Don’t tease me I’m sick” you implore peeking out from under the blankets.
“You started it, angel” she replies picking off an eyelash that had fallen onto the apple of your cheek.
“Make a wish” she brings the eyelash balanced on her index finger to your lips.
“I don’t want to blow my cooties all over your face” you groan.
“Ok I’ll make a wish for you instead you big baby” she says before pursing her lips and gently blowing on her finger setting the eyelash on a trajectory of its own.
“What did you wish for?” you ask watching your girlfriend get up and tug at the curtains to ensure no stray light gets into the room. She wanted you to get uninterrupted sleep.
“I wished that you’d get well fast and that you’d eat something” she says flitting about the room putting it in order. She grabs some Shield files from her dressing table. No doubt she planned on staying up late tonight working.
“Babe…” you call and she stops, turning around to look back at you one foot already out the door.
“Hmm?” she hums with a smile but you can see the concern clearly etched on her face. She can’t remember the last time you were this sick.
“Can’t do much about the first request but come here…” you tap on the tip of your nose three times, “…and I’ll take care of that second request right now.”
“Horndog!” She hucks a pen in your direction and leaves you with her laughter. It sucks to be sick but at least she was there taking care of you.
Cupid’s Arrow
❥ Valentines Drabbles: Day 5
❥ Pairing: Nat x Sick Reader
❥ Wordcount: 1000
[ Previous || Next ]
This ended up not really being a drabble, oops
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚:
Valentine's Day was nothing special, to you at least. It was just like an ordinary day. The holiday itself seemed pretty pointless in your opinion but I guess being single didn’t really help with your views either. Who knew one night alone with a certain redhead could change your view entirely...
Your head had been throbbing the previous night and your throat was a little scratchy so it wasn’t too much of a shock when you woke up the next morning with a stuffy noise and messed up voice. You sniffled your way into the bathroom, splashing some cold water on your warm face. Looking in the mirror you grimaced – besides the obvious bedhead, you looked dreadful. Your skin was pale and clammy and tired bags sat beneath your eyes. You definitely looked worse than you felt.
You groaned a little at your aching muscles as you tied back your hair, you wanted to look somewhat alive at least. There was no point showering just yet though, you were due to train with Nat thing morning so you saw no point in showering just to then get all hot and sweaty immediately after. Speaking of training, you looked down to your phone to see the time and immediately scrambled to get dressed.
You had to jog down the halls to make sure you arrived at the gym on time. You knew how much Nat despised it when people were late. But jogging wasn’t really the best option when you were struggling to breathe through your nose, so when you opened the door to the gym it was obvious you were out of breath.
“What’s up with you?” Nat called as she looked over from her punching bag, she’d been there for a while judging by the small sheer of sweat along her forehead, “Did you sprint here or something?”
“Something like that.”
Truth be told, you had more than a crush of her. I mean, who wouldn’t? She’s the Black Widow. Not only did she have a body that runway models would kill for, she had also been blessed with an insanely high IQ and a great sense of humour. You admired her, for how hard she’d worked and for how she gave everything her all. When you’d first joined the Avengers, she had been a little cold towards you at first, distant. But despite this, she had still offered to train you – something about her not wanting you to cause any downfalls, whatever the reason, it was safe to say training with her was your favourite part of the day.
It seemed that you’d spaced out a little as you got lost in your thoughts because the next thing you knew, Nat was infront of you, her hands resting on her hips as she studied you with an unreadable expression.
“You don’t look well, what’s wrong?” Nat asked in a hushed tone, mindful of the listening ears of the boys. Both Clint and Thor were also currently training together at the other side of the gym.
"Just—uh... feeling a little under the weather." My voice is cracked and strained as you shifted back a few steps to cough a little, brushing your nose with the back of your wrist. To your surprise, Natasha took a step forward as she reached out to hold you still with one hand whilst the other pressed itself against your slightly-clammy forehead.
Her face contorted a little, as she bit her lip. You know this isn't like her. Natasha wasn’t one to look visibly worried. If anything, her attitude and her lack of concern is usually what sets her apart from everyone else. "You're really warm Y/N.”
You went to dismiss her claims but instead you ended up sneezing down against your hand, “It’s okay, reall-”
Your words were interrupted when Nat’s hand came to wrap around your wrist, not enough to hurt but her strong grip could definitely be felt, “Sorry Y/N, you’re not contaminating the whole gym. Let’s go get you some tea instead, trainings off today.”
You didn’t have the strength to object, you were pretty tired after all so you didn’t make a fuss when the redhead moved her hand down to take your own as she led you out of the gym and down to the kitchen where she made you a warm steamy cup of tea. It felt amazing, with each sip the settled congestion in your nose seems to ease a little and the warm liquid helps your throat to sting a little less.
Natasha nodded as you said a quiet thankyou, “It’s not a problem, I just haven’t seen you sick before. You worried me a little there back there.” As Nat speaks, her hand comes up to run through your hair and you freeze under her touch, “You do look kinda cute like this y’know?”
As you cradled the cup of tea in between your hands, the tips of your fingers tingle with heat and you could feel you face flush a little. "Cute?”
“Yeah. You look pretty cute with your little red nose and cheeks.” Nat purrs, as she leant closer you could feel her breath on your ear as she whispered, “Truthfully though, I’ve thought you were cute ever since you arrived here.”
The heat in your face spreads to your throat, making it hard to speak. Her touch was electric—the sort which jolts and startles like a thunderclap. You took a breath, the scent of her strawberry shampoo only causes you to melt further as she runs a hand down your exposed shoulder, “I think I’d like it if you let me take care of you a little. What do you say, hm? I’ll treat you like a princess sweetheart I swear.”
Before you knew it, you were leaning in as you pressed your lips to her, taking her in with a soft, tender kiss before you let your foreheads fall together in union, “I think I’d like that too.”
Summary: Natasha woke up sick. Wanda and R tries to help make Natasha feels better
Note: R is like 2/3 years old
Natasha woke up the morning slightly later than usual and felt a weight on her body. She looked down and you were lying peacefully on her with your thumb in your mouth from sucking in the middle of the night. She took your thumb out and rubbed your back, giving you more time to sleep so you wouldn’t be cranky later.
Minutes later, she decided to wake you up to start the day. “Y/N” She whispered softly trying to wake you up but her voice came out scratchy. You whimpered slightly but continued sleeping. “Y/N, it’s time to wake up.” Nat decided to hold you and walk to the bathroom but when she stood up she felt slightly dizzy and weak, falling to her knees.
She held you tight so you didn’t fall off but you hit your head on the floor causing you to cry. “Y/N, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.” She checked your head for any injuries while calming you down.
“Nat! Are you coming down for breakfast?” Wanda came in to check on Natasha since she normally would already be down at the kitchen drinking her coffee. “Are you okay?” Wanda asked when she saw Natasha and you on the floor sniffing.
“Yeah, I’m fine. I’m coming down.” Nat said in a hoarse voice. Placing a hand on the bed while holding you with the other, she pushed herself up.
“You clearly don’t sound good. I think you’re sick Nat.” She took you from her and insisted Natasha rest in bed. “I will make something for you to get better.”
“Come on, let’s go. Mama’s sick.” Wanda bounced you around and brought you to the kitchen with the others, notifying them that Natasha’s sick and wouldn’t be coming down.
“Mama sick?” You said sadly.
“Yes, we are going to give her medicine to make her feel better.” Wanda decided to include you so you don’t feel left out.
Wanda gave you half a lemon and a plastic cup. “Squeeze it so we can’t see the bottom okay?”
“Hugn.” You nodded and took the lemon and cup to sit on the floor and started working. You shook the lemon into the cup and checked your progress but nothing happened. You looked at Wanda but she was busy at the stove.
Using your tiny hands, you squeeze the lemon as hard as you can and you see a single drop in the cup. “Wanda!” You shouted excitedly at your progress.
“That’s good bubs, continue yeah?” She ruffled your hair and you continued squeezing it.
“Urghhh.” Was the sound you made at every squeeze. The lemon no longer looked round as before once you finished. Looking satisfied with your work, you stood up excited but accidentally knocked over the cup in the process.
“Uh oh.” You mumbled quietly at your work being on the floor. Wanda was quick to get to your side and reassure you it was okay. She gave you another lemon if you wanted another go. You took it and continued in your corner.
“You sure are one determined child.” Wanda said quietly as she cleaned up your mess. After cleaning up, she remembered there’s a juicer and you wouldn’t have such a hard time squeezing the lemon. “Oh well…”
Once you were done, you carefully this time gave it to Wanda for her to make a warm honey lemon juice for your mama. Along with the soup she made, she brought it with her to Natasha who was sleeping.
You touched your mama’s face as she was crying in her sleep, hoping to stop her cries. “Mama, don’t cry.” She managed to wake up but her eyes sting causing her to tear up. “Y/N, what did you do?”
“It’s probably the lemon juice.” Wanda said as she passed her the honey lemon. “Y/N made this for you to get better.”
“You did? Thank you Y/N.”
“Hugn.” You nodded and pushed the cup closer to your mama, urging her to drink. “Mama drink.”
She took a sip. “Thank you Y/N.” You giggled. Nat received the soup from Wanda and all you sat there as Natasha drank the soup. You were sitting in Wanda’s lap as you played with her necklace not thinking that your mama was still sick.
When Natasha was done, she passed the bowl to Wanda who took you out of the room with her. “But mama okay?”
“The honey lemon is not going to make her instantly better sweetie.” Your face instantly changed to a gloom.
“I’m sorry Y/N. But I don’t want to make you sick too.” Natasha's voice was still hoarse but it wasn’t as bad as it was in the morning.
Despite your protest of staying behind by flailing your arms and kicking your legs, you were brought out of the room. You stood by the door with your head in on the door silently, wanting to go in.
Natasha felt bad that you couldn’t be near her mama but she didn’t want you catching the flu too. She went back to sleep hoping to get better soon so she could get back to you.
“Come on Y/N, you can’t be standing there forever.” Clint came to persuade you after numerous failed attempts from Wanda. “You can have ice cream.” He tried to bribe you but you refused to move. You sat by the door wanting your mama to come out and play with you.
Soon you felt tired sitting there doing nothing so you ended up falling asleep by the door and Wanda carried you to her room so you could rest properly.
The Spiders Sister - Chapter 2
Summary: Reader is still a little sick and staying hidden while Wanda and Natasha look after her.
TW: Sickness, asthma
Words: 2.8K
A/n: Part two!!!
It must have been a couple of hours sleep before you woke up again. Somebody was knocking on the door and for a second you panicked, still feeling awful and sleepy your mind was working though a dense fog to catch up.
When you finally managed to recall the events of earlier that morning, you felt a slight bit of relief.
“Come in.” You called, your throat scratchy and sounding like sandpaper on glass.
The door handle turned, and you prayed the girls had kept their promise to not tell the others yet.
Wanda’s face peered into the room, and she glanced around until her eyes fell on you, still holed up in bed under the sheets.
“How are you feeling?” Wanda asked as she came inside, holding a tray. She gently closed the door after her and came to sit on the bed beside you.
“A bit better than I was. But not great.” You mumbled.
“Well, if you don’t mind, Nat and I are happy to look after you until you get better. Peter’s been telling us stories about you, now he can.” She begun and you groaned. Drawing a smile from her. “All good don’t worry. He’s a good kid and it sounds like you’re a good sister. And spider-man at that.” She said with a wink, and you buried your flaming face in your hands.
Wanda carefully pried your fingers away from your blazing cheeks and smiled softly at you.
“Now, I made you some soup and Nat’s gone to steal some of Peter’s enhanced-super cold and flu medicine out of Bruce’s lab for you.” Wanda said as she set the tray down on your bedside table. “Put this under your tongue.” She said handing you a thermometer.
“I’m fine.” You said not taking from her. She raised an eyebrow in challenge. “Really. Im all good now.” You argued and she still wasn’t having it.
Using her magic wanda floated the thermometer up to hover in front of your lips. You gave her a look and opened your mouth.
She beamed at you and the thermometer positioned itself under your tongue.
“Now what?” You mumbled from behind the stick.
“Now we wait for that to beep and go from there.” Wanda said catching the drooping thermometer with her finger before it could fall from your mouth while you spoke.
After a few more seconds of Wanda fussing with the things on the tray and messaging who you assumed must be Nat on her phone, the stick beeped.
Before you had a chance to remove it yourself wanda had stolen from your lips and was closely observing the numbers on the small screen.
She hummed a low note and sent another text to Nat before placing it down on the bedside table.
“Well?” You asked trying not to pout about feeling left out.
“102.3 still a fever.” Wanda said before standing and heading to the door to open it.
Natasha stepped into the room with three bottles of medicine in her arms.
She came over and took a seat next to wanda who had sat back on the bed like before.
She handed the bottles to wanda who looked at the labels and began taking out pills from two of the bottles and measuring out a red liquid from the other.
“Oh, hell nah.” You said. “I am not drinking that.”
Nat raised an eyebrow. “You will be.” She said and you frowned, slouching down and glaring at her which only seemed to make her smirk grow larger.
Wanda finished measuring it all out and handed you the two pills and a glass of water.
“What is this?” You asked.
“Fever reducers and cold and flu meds that were made for peter.” Wanda said and you nodded and took them.
Then wanda held out the small medicine cup of red liquid.
“Nope.” You said pursing your lips. “Not happening.”
“If you don’t take this, I’ll force feed you it myself.” Wanda said and you glared at each other for a second before swiping it out of her hands.
“Fine.” You grumbled and wanda beamed at you.
“Good girl.” She said and you defiantly did not feel your stomach flip at those two words.
However, Natasha seemed to smirk to herself about something while wanda busied herself with the soup.
You took the medicine like a shot and scrunched up your nose after.
“Why is it sweet?” You asked smacking your lips together.
“Peter’s a baby when it comes to gross cough syrup, so he requested it taste like cotton candy.” Nat said and you rolled your eyes.
“Of course he did.” You mumbled.
Before you could find further reason to complain Nat plucked the cup from your hands and wanda set the tray on your lap, fussing over the pillows behind you that were keeping you propped up against the bedhead.
You eyed the tray closely. There was a bowl of thick orange soup with a blob of white sprinkle with small green herbs. Along with a soup spoon and napkin.
“Um? What kind of soup is it?” You asked.
“Pumpkin soup with sour cream and chives.” Wanda said. “It’s an old family recipe from my childhood.” She said seeming to lose her smile for a fraction of a second before it came back.
You nodded. “Thank you. You really didn’t have to go to all the effort wanda.”
She just shrugged. “Its kind of what we do around here.”
“Look after each other, she means.” Nat clarified and you nodded and brought a spoonful of soup to your lips.
It was warm and tasted amazing. You hummed in delight at the taste and Wanda beamed.
“This is really good.” You said taking another spoonful of it.
“I’m glad you like it.” Wanda said.
“So, where’s peter?” You asked, striking up conversation.
“May took him home. Nat managed to convince her that you were fine staying here with us. We are happy to have you and if you like that could be a more permanent offer depending on what the team has to say.” Wanda said and you choked on your soup.
Coughing, you felt Natasha’s strong hands pound your back to help you breathe.
Once the fit had subsided you blinked at wanda who was looking at you with concern in her eyes. You waved her off.
“I’m all good.” You begun but she handed you the glass of water anyways.
“Small sips.” She instructed and you nodded and drank some of it slowly.
“Sorry.” You apologised. “I just wasn’t expecting that.” You mumbled, cheeks warm.
“No need to apologise I probably should have waited until you weren’t eating.” Wanda said and you laughed.
“But in all seriousness… you guys want me here? Like … on the team?” You asked and Nat looked at Wanda before nodding.
“We would need to have Fury sign off. Steve and Tony will have to agree as well, but theres not denying you would be a valuable asset to the team.” Nat begun. “I’m planning on holding a meeting with the team when your up to it. But until then I want you to rest and get better. It’s important you put your best foot forward when starting off with the team.” Nat said and Wanda nodded.
“You’ll do great. The team will love you.” Wanda agreed, throwing in her own two cents to Nat’s speech.
“So, Nat how did you manage to sneak in and out of Bruce’s lab and find peters meds?” Wanda asked with the grin that Natasha returned.
As Nat launched into her story, which included a cabinet of medicine labelled spider-baby, a banner-stark debate over what atom is the best and lastly her spy skills.
By now everyone had gotten themselves comfortable on the bed. You were sat against the headboard with wanda on your left and Natasha on your right.
The king bed managed to squeeze all of you in and left ample room for more space.
As Nat continued her story you found yourself listing to one side. Your eyes drifting half shut as the exhaustion rolled over you.
Blinking harshly, you tried to stay awake until a soft hand guided your head to something soft that smelt like strawberries and vanilla.
You decided to forgo fighting sleep for any longer and left yourself drift off.
Natasha grinned at Wanda who was stroking your hair as you laid on her shoulder asleep.
It was an adorable sight and Nat may or may not have taken a photo of all three of you together with you asleep in the middle.
After the two listened to your slightly wheezy breathing and elected to let you sleep for now and to monitor your breathing, Wanda put on a sit-com on the Tv on a low volume as her and Nat settled in.
Over the course of the afternoon Wanda and Nat kept a close eye on you as you slept. Listening to the wheeze in your exhale and making sure it didn’t get worse or require your asthma inhaler.
Once or twice when Wanda checked your temperature with her hand against your forehead you nuzzled into her palm, still sleeping which warmed the witch's heart
You were adorable in her eyes and the glint in Natasha’s said she felt the same way.
At one point your powers began acting up as Wanda wanted to get up for some water and she found herself stuck to you.
She had looked lost and slightly bewildered while Nat giggled and helped her pry you off her.
“Tony says peter does the same thing when he’s sick. They can’t control it.” Nat had explained to Wanda in a hushed and slightly amused whisper so as not to wake you.
Finally at around five in the evening Wanda decided she needed to get up and cook dinner.
As she slid out of bed you began to wiggle a bit, seeking the warmth that had been there moments ago as you had been tucked into her side.
Wanda watched like a deer in headlights to see if you would wake up.
Instead, you simply rolled over and latched onto Natasha leg. Clinging to it like a baby sloth cuddling its mama.
Natasha had looked surprised almost shocked at the turn of events and Wanda hid a giggle behind her hand at Nat’s comical expression before she schooled her features.
It took a lot to surprise Natasha, but you had managed to do it within only knowing her for two days.
Wanda silently slipped out the door as Natasha looked down at you with a peaceful smile.
No longer paying attention to the Tv she was gazing down at you as she gently traced a pattern on your arm.
Despite having only known you for two days, Wanda and Natasha had found themselves almost entranced by you. From the way your nose scrunched up when you smiled to the way it twitched like a bunny before you sneezed.
Peter had kept telling them stories about you and your escapades as spider-man that had often landed him in trouble with Tony.
Wanda and Natasha had found all the walls they had spent years building over their scarred hearts to have melted in the presence of your sunny disposition, even if it was buried under a little sickness at the moment.
Wanda wanted to learn more about you, she always loved stories as a child, but you seemed like the best novel she may ever get the chance to read. And she wanted nothing more than to write the rest of your chapters together. She would be willing to bleed the ink from her own body to write your happily ever after together on the same page. To exist in a world of you and her. To add to the ecosystem that fed her soul. Because she always felt she had room for more un her heart. She had felt love like this before, once before, and it was double as she had laid in the bed with the both of you.
Natasha dreamed of finding someone that felt like home. After so long running from false families and a broken childhood, she wanted nothing more than to curl up and relax with someone that made her feel safe. Someone that made her feel the same way you do when you drink hot chocolate while watching the snow drift down on a winter wonderland. You were the home she was looking for. The way your heart touched hers, reached for her like a magnet was something she rarely felt. Something she had only ever felt once before. With another redhead who lived in the tower.
Wanda finished making dinner at around six. Before calling the team, she plated up three dishes of food and left the kitchen.
Only once she was safely clear and, in the lift, did she tell Jarvis to alert the team for dinner.
When Wanda stepped back into your room the first thing, she noticed was the concern on Natashas face.
Many may see the black widow as a cold heartless woman, yet that was just her persona in front of the cameras.
Sure, she was hard to crack open at first, but it seems she had taken a liking to you almost immediately.
Behind closed doors Natasha was quite a sweet and caring person for those she loved, showing her affection in indirect manners such as little gifts and cracking jokes at just the right time.
As wanda approached the bed she begun to realise why Nat was worried.
Your breathing which they had been monitoring had grown more wheezy.
Nat looked up from where she had been studying your face to look at wanda.
“I wasn’t sure if I should let her sleep or wake her to use her inhaler.” Nat said.
“No, you did the right thing. We have to wake her up for dinner now anyway, so we’ll have her use it now.” Wanda said with a small smile.
“We should also check her temperature and give her some more medicine.” Nat added and wanda agreed with a nod as she placed the dishes down on the desk.
Natasha gently began to rub your arm. “Y/n/n. Y/n/n wake up.” Nat said softly and after a second you batted her hand away drawing a chuckle from Wanda.
“Noooo let me sleep.” You said but Nat wasn’t having it.
You tried to pull the covers over your head but Nat held them down in place on the bed with her foot.
“Would you get up if I told you wanda made dinner?” Nat asked and wanda stifled a chuckle behind her hand as you cracked one eye open.
“Maybe.” You said and wriggled so you were sat against the headboard.
“Good. But before you get dinner its medicine time.” Nat said and you groaned in protest.
“There’s always a catch.” You grumbled and Wanda winked at you.
“For you? Always.” Wanda grinned and you gave her a half-hearted glare.
Natasha pressed your inhaler into your hand, and you simply blinked at her. “I don’t need it.” You said.
“I’m not asking again.” Nat smiled sweetly.
“Technically you didn’t ask the first time.” You said and looked at wanda for backup where she was leaning against the desk with an amused smile.
“Nope.” She said popping the p. “I can hear you wheezing from here bubs. Take it and breath like the rest of us.” She said smugly.
“Whatever.” You pouted and took the inhaler, ignoring them both and looking at a spot on the wall.
When you were done wanda patted your cheek.
“Good.” She said handing you a thermometer you took and dutifully placed under your tongue.
When it beeped Nat’s quick hands beat you to it and stole the device from your lips.
“99.8 it’s gone down.” Nat said with a smile.
“Yay.” You drawled sarcastically.
Before you could even get another word or remark in Wanda placed two tablets into your hand. “Swallow these.” She instructed and pressed a glass of water into your other hand.
You sighed and did as you were told, making both women smile at each other.
As the three of you ate you complemented Wanda’s cooking and savoured the food.
The two women chatted to you about the avengers asking any questions you had. When dinner was done, they could see you fighting to stay awake.
When do I get to meet the team?” You asked over a yawn you directed into your fist.
“Well, we’ll see how you feel in the morning and go from there.” Wanda smiled as she messed around with the pillows. “Get some sleep Y/n.” She smiled and you nodded, too tired to argue.
Settling down you were asleep before they two had left the room.
〖Summary: Natasha returns early from a mission with a bad case of the flu.〗
〖Word Count: 1.3k〗
〖Pairing: Sick Natasha x R〗
〖Notes: I hope you all enjoy this!〗
You sighed and slammed your book shut, unable to on the words on the page. Natasha was supposed to be back from her mission in two days and you were a mixture of excited and nervous. She had been radio silent for days, only sending messages concerning the mission.
That meant no sweet texts to you, only communication with Cap and Tony.
It was standard for a mission like this, she was in a potentially dangerous situation and to minimize any danger they minimized contact. Even though you understood it didn’t mean you had to like it. You had continued to train while she was away, the physical act of hitting something distracting you from your anxiety. If you could keep your energy up you could keep the emotions at bay.
With a frustrated groan you pulled out your laptop, resigning yourself to some YouTube cat compilations. Those usually held your attention, and it helped that cats were adorable. Maybe you could convince Tony to let you have a cat, if you laid out a good enough argument he might let you.
For a while you let yourself be captured by the videos moving across the screen, watching the pixelated cats fall off of things only to get up unharmed, attack humans, and be afraid of toasters. You were pulled out of your feline trance by a slight jiggle of your doorknob.
You looked up from your laptop, staring at the door handle and reaching for your weapon. No one was supposed to come into your room, and you had strict rules about knocking before opening the door. You grasped the smooth handle of the knife under your pillow, tensing your body in preparation for a fight.
There were a million thoughts swirling through your mind, how had someone gotten into the tower? Why hadn’t FRIDAY alerted you? Were the others safe?
A dark silhouette appeared in the doorway, and you threw your knife, the blade sinking into the wood of the door frame beside the person's head. It was a warning shot, you didn’t miss. Your goal was to scare the person off to avoid an altercation that you didn’t want to get into.
“Jesus Y/n, what the fuck was that?” A raspy voice asked, someone flicked on the light illuminating a very grumpy-looking Natasha. She walked into the room and threw her toolbelt onto the dresser, being much less careful than she usually was. She loved that belt; it had saved her life many times and she always handled it with care.
“You fucking scared me! You’re supposed to be in Latvia, not breaking into my bedroom!” You shot back, lowering yourself against the headboard, the tension leaving your body. The adrenaline coursing through your veins began to calm down, slowing your rapid heartbeat.
“And you’re supposed to be asleep, it's 2:00 in the morning.” You scoffed and rolled your eyes.
“Like you're any better,” Your words trailed off as a sharp sneeze cut through the room, leaving Natasha hunched over and sniffing.
“Why are you back early?” Suspicion laced your words as you took in her disheveled appearance. When she was in uniform, she went to extensive efforts to make herself look professional even in a more relaxed setting.
This time her clothes were slightly wrinkled, and her hair was a mess. You didn’t expect her to look picture-perfect after coming back from a mission, but she did try to make herself look stoic coming home to impress the men. She turned to face you, revealing an unnatural flush to her cheeks and red-chapped nostrils, the telltale signs of the flu.
“I think I caught something; my head is pounding. Steve pulled me, decided I wasn’t healthy enough to be in the field. He threatened to come and get me himself.” She mumbled, sniffling again. She rubbed her nose against her sleeve and coughed into the air.
You smiled at the idea, picturing her arguing with Steve who would seriously come and get her if he felt the need.
“Okay love, go get showered and I’ll get some supplies. Do you think you’ll be okay to do it by yourself?” You asked, concerned that she might fall over if left alone. Natasha rolled her eyes, wincing at the motion. She shook her head slightly as if to clear it then nodded.
“I’ll be fine. Just want to get it over with, then sleep.”
“Yeah, I bet you do. It’ll feel really good I promise.” When you heard the shower running you climbed out of bed, getting to work. You rifled through the drawers of your bedside table and pulled out a bottle of Nyquil alongside a thermometer, a box of tissues, and a bag of cough drops, all things left over from the last time you’d gotten sick.
Next, you tiptoed into the kitchen and got a glass of water and one of juice, not wanting to make tea until Natasha asked for it. She rarely drank it and you knew she didn’t like it but you’d be happy if she consumed any fluids.
When you returned to your room you were surprised to find your shivering girlfriend curled up in the bed, her wet hair splayed out over the pillow. You’d only been gone for ten minutes tops, you hadn’t expected her to have showered so quickly.
“Did you enjoy your shower?” You asked, setting the glasses of water and juice on the small table by her side of the bed. She shrugged and sniffled thickly, rubbing her fist against her red nose.
“Could you pass me a tissue please?” Her voice was so stuffy, poor thing sounded awful. And she didn’t look much better, not that you would tell her that. You grabbed a tissue from the already prepared box and pressed it into her hand, turning a way to simulate privacy as she blew her nose weakly.
“Oh, my sweet Natty, you really don’t feel well do you…” You muttered, more to yourself than to her. Natasha nodded and turned to look at you with a pout set on her chapped lips. Barely three seconds later her gaze unfocused and she snapped forward with a rough sneeze that she didn’t have time to cover.
“Okay well that wet hair isn’t going to help. Sit up for me, take some medicine, and I’ll dry your hair while we watch a movie.” The redhead did what you instructed, lifting herself onto the pillows with a wheezy sigh.
You poured out a dose of the medication and watched her drink it, making sure that she got all of it. The gulp of “grape” flavored goop was quickly followed by half a glass of juice. You were internally pleased with the amount of juice she had just willingly drank, usually keeping her hydrated was a chore.
“Get comfy and pick a movie, I’ll grab the hair dryer.” She settled on Jaws for reasons that you couldn’t explain. You knew she loved it but you didn’t exactly consider it a good sick day movie. It didn’t matter, she already looked half asleep. You doubted she’d make it through the first act even with the sound of the hair dryer.
“C’mere baby, let me fuss over you.” You climbed into bed and pulled her into your lap, positioning her so that she was laying back against you with her head on your chest. Just as you’d predicted it didn’t take long for her eyes to start drooping, the sound and warmth of the hair dryer seemed to be lulling her to sleep.
“M’sorry for getting sick.” She mumbled, a huge yawn escaping her lips. You rubbed her shoulder and pulled the blankets up around her, making sure that she was comfortable.
“No apologizes necessary Nat. You just relax, I’ll be right here when you wake up.”
Accidents happen
Pairings: Natasha x you
Words: 1891
Warnings: bed wetting? Idk.
Summary: Natasha has an accident due to how sick she is. It’s up to you to convince her there is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. (Requested)
Notes: This is bordering on age regression. I don’t know if this topic is controversial, but if it is and you’re offended, please don’t read. It’s absolutely nothing detailed. Just fluff. Thank you.
Tumblr media
You let out a soft exhale through your nose as you tenderly trail the pad of your thumb over the warm, soft skin of Natasha's cheek. The red head was laying on her side, fast asleep as hoarse, crackly breaths escape her chapped lips. She'd been sick for three days now, and it appeared as though she was no closer to getting better despite the amount of medicine she'd been taking.
It was way past the generic cold now. You knew that. Sure it had started that way. A light fever. A runny nose and cough. Nothing Natasha hadn't dealt with before and you knew for a fact had you not caught her mid sneezing fit just yesterday, she probably wouldn't have even told you she was feeling under the weather and would have toughed it out until she was better.
But that wasn't the case now.
Said cold had transpired into what you could only guess was one of the worst cases if the flu you'd ever seen. She was seriously congested. She had a pretty severe migraine and even her stomach had joined in on the fun leaving her unable to eat anything.
A particularly hoarse breath from Natasha brings you out of your thoughts, and you flicker your eyes up to see her face scrunched up in discomfort. You frown slightly as you lean forward to press a soft kiss to her forehead, your hands lingering on her face for a moment longer before you decided it was best to try another tactic.
"Shhh, you're okay," you attempt to sooth as you slip your arm beneath her side and gently coax her tired body into your arms.
She was remarkably easy to direct, settling against your chest with a wet cough as her hands reach up to cling to your hoodie. She seems to instinctively wipe her dripping nose onto the material too, and though you roll your eyes fondly, you knew a tissue would be much better suited for what she was trying to do.
Reaching back, you grab a few tissues from the box on your nightstand and make quick but gentle work of ridding the snot from her nose and cupids bow.
The feeling of the rough tissue against her sore, red tinged nose has Natasha's once again rousing, a pain filled whimper escaping her lips as she hides her face against your chest in a futile attempt at getting away from whatever was hurting her.
Not wanting to further her discomfort in any way, you abandon the task just half way through and toss the now soiled tissue into the trashcan.
With a soft sigh and a gentle kiss against her hairline, you slip a hand beneath her pyjama shirt and begin trailing your fingers over the too warm skin. "All done baby, you're okay." You murmur, giving the thigh that had come to rest across your stomach a soft, comforting squeeze.
In response, Natasha’s sleeping self lets out a hoarse, heavy sigh, her grasp loosening on your shirt as she once again slips into fitful sleep. With the knowledge you would be her pillow until another sneeze or cough inevitably woke her, you grab your phone from the nightstand and decide to kill some time scrolling through social media.
Your free hand continues to absentmindedly trace over her back, up to the nape of her neck and down to just above her underwear. Natasha seems to all hit melt into you, and you all but welcome her as close as she could possibly get. Before long, she was more or less on top of you, head tucked into the crook of your neck with her legs sprawled over your own.
You can’t help but pout softly at the action, pressing your lips in a tender kiss against the top of her head.
Soon, the sun outside disappears behind the clouds signalling that it was getting late. With the knowledge that it would soon be time for Natasha’s to take some more medicine, you place your phone down and slip both hands beneath her shirt. You graze the pads if your thumbs over her sides, craning your head and pressing your lips her forehead.
“Nat? It’s time to wake up baby.” You murmur, lightly tapping the small of her back. Natasha remains still, her breath heavy against the skin of your neck.
You smile softly and reach down to give her behind a few firm pats, “Pumpkin? Wakey wakey.” You coo, affectionately grazing the tips of your fingers over the top of her underwear before bringing your hand back up to meet the other that was still resting on the middle of her back.
Natasha does no more than let out a soft whimper.
Your heart breaks at the sound, but before you could even continue trying to wake her, a sudden wetness begins seeping into the material of your pyjama bottoms. A frown of confusion slips onto your lips at the sensation, and you lift the covers slightly to see that a sudden wet spot had appeared on both your shirt and pants.
You couldn’t see the front of Natasha’s body, but you had a funny feeling that if you could, the same sight would greet you there too.
She’d had an accident.
“Oh baby…” you trail off sympathetically as you let go of the blankets, allowing them to conceal you both again as you hug her body close to you and let out a soft sigh. You didn’t know what to do.
If you woke her, you had no idea just how she’d react. This had never happened before. Why would it? Natasha was a grown woman. But she’d never been this sick before either. Could that be the reason? Could someone be so sick they could have an accident without even realising it?
Knowing you had to wake her either way, you let out a deep sigh and prepare yourself to do just that.
Keeping your hold around her tight, you adjust her legs to settle either side of your hips and sit yourself up. She was straddling you now, but you didn’t think she was completely asleep. Her hands were gripping the back of your shirt, and you could feel her eyelashes fluttering against your neck.
“Nat?” You ask tentatively, bringing a hand down to rest on the small of her back. The red head lets out a heavy sigh as she forces her eyes open, and as soon as she realises her current predicament, she freezes in your arms.
“It’s okay,” you were quick to sooth, tightening your hold around her so she didn’t bolt. “It was just an accident. Everyone has them. It’s nothing to be ashamed about I promise.”
Natasha’s shoulders begin to shake, and you feel her let out a choked sob. Despite the tears, you were thankful because you’d rather this than her bolting and shutting you out.
You nuzzle your nose into her neck and press a soft kiss to the warm skin as your hands once again slip beneath her shirt, hoping the skin on skin contact would help sooth her.
“You’re sick baby,” you murmur into her ear, “It’s not your fault. I’m not mad. Or upset. It was just an accident. They happen to everyone. You’re okay.”
Natasha sniffles as her body shudders with the force of her sobs, and you pull her just that bit closer, your own eyes burning with tears. “It’s okay. You’re okay. I’ve got you.”
It takes a little while, but soon, her sobs turn into soft sniffles, and you give her one last squeeze before placing a hand on either of her sides before attempting to ease her away from you. Natasha resists as she coughs wetly, and you quietly shush her as you pull her body back to your own.
She wasn’t ready to face you yet, and that was okay.
“Take all the time you need.” Was all you say as you secure your arms back around her waist, attempting to ignore the once warm wetness that had long gone cold against you.
You begin to hum softly as you rock her body back and forth in your arms, the corners of your lips quirking up into a smile when feel her begin to relax against you.
After a few moments, you once again attempt to ease her away from you, and this time, she allows it. Her cheeks, you notice, were red with both her fever and embarrassment, and she was seemingly unable to meet your eyes. You reach up to cup her face and place a gentle kiss to her nose.
“It’s okay pumpkin,” you murmur, smiling slightly when her hands come up to rest over your own. They were trembling slightly, and you adjust your thumbs so you could trial the pad of then over the backs of her hands.
“We don’t have to talk about it if that makes you uncomfortable. Let’s just get you cleaned up, okay?”
Natasha nods as a single tear track slips down her cheek, and you tenderly wipe it away before coaxing her chest back against own. She complies without hesitation, and you secure your other arm around the small of her back before rising to your feet and carrying her into the bathroom.
Despite the fact that slipping a hand beneath her behind would make it easier to hold her up, you refrain from doing so in fear it would only embarrass her further. Instead, you hold her as close as you possibly could to you in hopes that would be enough.
You reach behind the glass shower door to turn on the water before lightly squeezing her thigh as a silent request for her to let you go. She does, but she was still seemingly unable to meet your eyes.
With the knowledge that she may need some time to get over this, you allow her to do whatever she needed to be comfortable.
“Can I help you?” You question as you reach up to gently brush a sweaty strand of hair away from her face, tucking it behind her ear.
“Yes please.” She pleads, her voice raspy. You press your lips against her forehead in a soft kiss before placing your hands on the bottom of her shirt and tugging it up and off of her body. Left in just her wet underwear, her cheeks flush red again, and you bend down and hook your fingers into the top before pulling them down.
She steps out of them with a trembling hand on your shoulder for balance, and you press an affectionate kiss to her hipbone before returning upright and making quick work of removing your own clothes.
Figuring that the water was now hot enough, you slip an arm around her waist to guide her in, yourself following shortly.
“There we go,” you murmur as she all but falls into your arms, arms tight around your waist and head against your chest tucked perfectly beneath your chin. You return the embrace without hesitation, cupping the back of her head and rocking her slightly back and forth.
“There we go.”
