Another short LOTR comic I made, adapted from the chapter “Journey in the Dark” in Fellowship of the Ring.
I really felt Frodo’s homesickness in this passage, and the beginnings of his deep regret for how things are unfolding as well as what will never be again. Also love getting a glimpse of the friendship/allyship of Elves and Dwarves of old because of mithril, and of course had to sneak in Celebrimbor and Narvi. My favorite part of Rings of Power has been Khazad-dûm and the dwarves thriving (for ONCE!!)

I think we as a society need to let go of the idea that androgynous look is Tolkien-Elves (men) and lean toward the idea that the androgynous look can also be Tolkien-Dwarves (women)
This is good we love this

BUT THIS IS GOOD TOO ANDROGYNOUS CAN LOOK LIKE THAT

Anyone else ever get emotional thinking about all the stories that Celebrimbor could tell Narvi of the great Dwarven smiths et al. of the First Age?
About how his father was friends with Telchar, and that the knife Angrist was originally made for him. (“So how did it come to Beren?” Narvi asks, at which Celebrimbor ducks his head and has to *mumble mumble* the explanation.) How Curufin would bring him with him to see the Dwarven forges, and how Telchar always called him “laddie”, despite the fact that Celebrimbor was definitely older than him by quite a big margin! And how it was in Telchar’s forges that Celebrimbor learned his first words of Khuzdul, which he still speaks with a slight Nogrod accent.
Then there were all the ingenious objets d’art from Belegost that his Uncle Caranthir had in his study at Helevorn. Such things are now rare heirlooms among Dwarven families in the Second Age. And the Nauglamír! The fairest of all of the ancient Dwarven treasures, which Celebrimbor saw countless times worn by King Felagund.
Then there was Azaghâl, who was as great and valiant as all the tales tell, but also capable of telling the dirtiest jokes you ever heard. Celebrimbor can remember seeing him, after a few drinks, reducing Uncle Maedhros into tears of laughter (and there were so few things that made Maedhros laugh in those days).
And imagine the first time Narvi gives him the big tour of Khazad-dûm, and Celebrimbor being delighted because it reminds him of Nargothrond, but even more delighted that he can tell Narvi truthfully that Khazad-dûm is even more magnificent. But he has so many stories he can tell of Nargothrond and King Felagund, some happy, some not so much, but he’s happy to share them all, to bring them to life once more for Narvi.

[One of Loki's kids comes in wearing makeup]
Loki: Oh no. I'm a complete failure as a parent. How did I let things get this way? Sigyn: [cautiously] Loki... Loki: (sobbing) How have I never taught any of my children how to hold their hands steady while applying eyeliner?!?!?

Matryoshkha-inspired art for the SWG Meet & Greet Challenge

Doors of Durin, Celebrimbor, and Narvi. This was inspired by the collaborative nature of the challenge and was used as the banner art.

To fit the Meet & Greet challenge, I picked some famous "meetings" out of the Silmarillion to depict. These were for the creator and comment stamps
In order of largest to smallest:
Thingol and Melian meeting in Nan Elmoth Finrod finding the Beorians and playing to them as they slept Oromë finding the awakened Elves at Cuivienen Beren seeing Luthien dancing in Doriath

Baby Tyelpe loves his pockets. They were ideal for holding pretty stones, flowers, interesting leaves, and all manner of useful objects.
He loves them so much he asks his uncle to add more pockets to his clothes.
Tyelpe is never content with how many pockets there are. He wants All The Pockets.
(One begetting day he receives a cloak which is covered in pockets. Front and back.)
(It’s one of the few of his most treasured belongings to make it to Ereigon)
His pockets change when he gets older. They are still always full, only they contain half finished ideas, scraps of paper and stubs of pencils, tools and gears and unpolished gems. If it is needed then Tyelpe probably has it on him.
The main change in Beleriand is that Celebrimbor also carries a knife and whetstone hidden in his pockets.
(And a broach, silver and star shaped, a signature on the back nearly worn away by how many times his thumb has traced it. The last piece of his father, one he cannot bring himself to be rid of.)
He never grows out of his habit. Not even as Lord of his own realm. Narvi teases him for it, but she too finds it helpful when he produces the exact size chisel she needs with only minimal rummaging.
Annatar never understands the hoarding of useful things in pockets. How could he when it seemed as though he could manipulate the very Song itself to bring him what he wished?
(He could not, of course, in fact Annatar has just as many pockets as Celebrimbor, they are just hidden pockets of Song instead of cloth.)
The rings are carried, tucked in their own special pocket, in front of his heart. Celebrimbor knows they are safe there.
It is a wrench to let them go when he senses the betrayal, yet he knows he must. The first place Annatar will search is in Celebrimbor’s pockets.
And he does.
