!!!!
#i emailed them when i woke up pretty much and then i was distracted and busy but they got back to me!!#basically i emailed asking if i could conduct email interviews with any interested staff members#where i could learn about what they did for college what they do on a typical day and stuff like that!!#cause im still trying really hard to figure out what kind of degree i want to be a museum person#and like. if i get a masters in public history and library science would it actually apply to somewhere like mia?#and what kind of job within a museum would best fit my personal skills and limitations and just. stuff like that#and they emailed me back which is great#anyway hi world it’s been a minute i’ve been sequestering myself inside of my mind and disintegrating on the daily#because my dad is terrible at single parenting and my mom is missing in action (she’s on a planned trip don’t worry) but im not good at#taking care of myself my dad thinks cooking is womens work (unless it’s grilling which he has loads of books on and sometimes does) and i#don’t care enough about my own well being to make myself food half the time. so i just haven’t been eating haven’t been getting out of bed#but as of today i just had a shower i have laundry in the laundry machine things are looking up a little#and my sisters murder mystery party is later today i have to dress up as a victorian lady named starr dangerfield#im going to wear my own clothes mostly so there shouldn’t be too much dysphoria. but i will be putting my hair in tiny pigtails#which is something i did every day when i was a cisgender high school freshman. my current hair is like my old pigtails hair but just erase#the pigtail part from existence. like the reason i always had those pigtails was so that most of my hair would be what im actually#comfortable with which is what i have now. but even my short hair is still capable of the smallest little pigtails. and thats what i will do#idk i might be able to get by having my regular hair. that would be very much preferable#my sister is going to give me some crazy dramatic makeup though too. wish me luck :(#oh but the cool thing about starr dangerfield is that she’s the curator of the carnivals wax museum!! which. i don’t like wax figures but#as evidenced by the email exchange that’s going on right now i do love museums and curating so!! that’s good stuff#anyway i have to go see if my laundry is moveable. but just. yeah. mini life update#me. my post. mine.#delete later

you & I (just meant to be)
Tumblr media
Author: @rosegardeninwinter
Prompt: This silly, silly ditty was inspired by two (count ‘em! two!) lovely prompts which are as follows “Peeta can’t stop staring at Katniss in her costume :0” and “Everlark meeting at a fancy dress party dressed as a ‘matching’ pair, although they don’t each other - maybe a famous couple but who don’t need the other … Joker and Harley Quinn, Batman and Robin or my favorite: Anna and Elsa from Frozen … Peeta would make a wonderful Anna” - I thought these two went well together, and took a couple of creative liberties to make them jive. Hope you lovelies like! [submitted by @deardiaryithinkiamaghost and @wendywobbles]
Rating: T, for implied Everlark shenanigans
Author’s Note: Thank you to my dear @archersandsunsets for her second pair of eyes on this one and to all the lovely moderators and coordinators of @seasonsofeverlark, the true MVPs. It’s been a busy month, so I apologize for any incoherence. Sometimes, the heart just wants goofy modern AU fluff. Alrighty, Chatty Cathy is done … enjoy!
____________
“Katniss, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Prim exclaims, though it sounds pretty pathetic with her congested, pinked nose. “You make the perfect ice queen!”
“I don’t think that’s usually a compliment,” Katniss says dourly, plopping down on the couch where her sister is situated with several fuzzy blankets, a box of tissues, and a large bowl of ice cream. She can’t taste it very well, but it’s the spirit of the thing that counts. Prim is in denial.
“I wish I could go,” she whines, holding the “o” in a long, dramatic note.
“I wish I could stay,” Katniss shoots back, holding the “ay” just as long.
“No you don’t,” Prim shoos. “You love our friends.”
“I do,” Katniss sighs, plucking at the silver sequined sleeves of her—well, Prim’s—Elsa costume. It’s too long on Katniss, with her sister’s good half inch on her, but it’s all they’ve got. Her original plan was to pull the classic black top and pants plus cat ears, but when it became apparent Prim wasn’t budging from the couch this Halloween, the real snowy blonde princess of the family had insisted Katniss take her outfit.
“You can’t show up to Finnick’s in a slapdash, last second costume, Katniss,” she’d said. “The man lives for Halloween. Don’t insult his extravagance with plastic headbands and tails.”
“I do love our friends, but … I don’t want to go out tonight. I’m tired.”
“Just half an hour,” Prim says. “Snag me some candy, make some pleasantries” — “okay, Jane Bennet” —  “and then come home. At least one of us needs to show up. Just pretend to have a social life for thirty minutes, okay? For me.”
Katniss rolls her eyes as she gets up from the couch in a twinkling of blue overlay and snowflake hair pins in her braid. She does a quick once over of her shadowy makeup in the hallway mirror as she grabs her car keys. “What do you want?”
“Chocolate. Anything with chocolate and peanut butter. I’ll save it for when I can experience taste again,” Prim calls back. “Oh, and if Delly’s cousin is there, all of the cupcakes he brought.”
“Mmkay. All the chocolate and cupcakes, coming right up,” Katniss says with a resigned smile. On her way out, she clicks on her phone. It’s just now eight. She resolves to be firmly ensconced in bed by nine at the latest. She gives her sister a wave, keys jangling. “I’ll be back. Soon.”
At ten thirty, Prim looks up from her Harry Potter induced doze to find she’s received a text from her sister.
Staying a little later. Fifteen minutes maybe. Have the treats.
Prim checks the time stamp. The text was sent forty five minutes ago. This might be cause for alarm were it not for the text underneath Katniss’s, from Finnick. It’s a photo, taken in front of a makeshift photo op with purple and silver and orange streamers in the background and cutesy little bat and pumpkin and vampire fang cardboard props for people to hold up. It’s captioned “You can’t marry a man you just met!”
Prim brings her hand to her mouth to catch a laugh before it turns into a cough. Her sister, Elsa costume sparkling in the flash, is pretending to shake her finger disapprovingly at her “Anna” counterpart. The laugh breaks free this time. Prim grabs for her tepid tea to soothe her throat as she cracks up over the really incredible image of Peeta Mellark, Delly Cartwright’s stocky older cousin, in a red braided wig, and strikingly accurate green rosemaled gown, sitting quite comfortably, if amusingly, over his athletic build. He’s pretending to gripe back at Katniss about why exactly he can marry Hans of the Southern Isles. Their mock scowls barely contain smiles.
Prim quickly fires a text back to Finnick: How??? Did that happen???
Finnick’s text comes through a second later: The Lord works in mysterious ways! Idk!
Okay but like?? Yes??
I know!!!!
Some people are worth melting for????
Her cold never bothered him anyway? *finger guns*
Omg.
Katniss arrives back at the house at five to midnight, and Prim pretends to be asleep, watching with one eye cracked half open as her sister unstraps her silver heels and dumps them by the front door, drops her keys into the bowl. Sets down a full bag of what Prim can only guess are cupcakes and sweets.
She’s humming under her breath. It sounds like the chorus of “Love is an Open Door.” Prim wonders if it’s possible that her folk and indie music loving sister actually listened to a Disney album on the way home. Katniss unbraids her hair and shakes it loose, dropping the pins on the side table as she sinks into the squashy chair kitty-corner to Prim’s couch. She curls up, knees to chest, making her look like some sort of ice mermaid as she takes out her phone and taps something on it, still humming. Prim watches her chew her cheek pensively, as if deciding to send the text. She takes a deep breath and taps one final time on the screen, then drums her phone nervously against her lips for a moment. Prim’s nerves are firing with anticipation.
They wait a silent minute. Two. Three. Three and a half —
Katniss’s screen lights up again and she flips the phone up to stare at the reply. Her whole face softens. Eyes, brow, edges of her mouth. Katniss bites her lip and closes her eyes, letting her head fall back onto the chair cushion with a contented sigh. “‘You know what’s crazy?’” she sing-songs in a mumble under her breath. “‘We finish each other’s sandwiches … I’ve never met someone who thinks so much like …” She yawns. “Me.”
“You know,” Prim says, and Katniss shrieks, sending her phone flying to the carpet, “Peeta Mellark strikes me more as a Kristoff than a Hans.”
“Prim!” Katniss yelps, going red. “Wha — what? What do you mean?”
“So we’re done with stupid plastic cat ears for Halloween then I take it?”
[the very next Halloween]
“Whoa. Okay.” Peeta sits up from the pile of cushions at the head of their bed, eyes wide and staring in approval, pupils gone dark. “Katniss Everdeen in cat ears is not something I knew I needed until this moment.”
“Oh sure,” Katniss laughs. “Because it’s definitely the cat ears that are doing it for you. Not these.” She hoists one stockinged leg up onto the bed like a mountain climber posing for a magazine.
“Well, those are certainly part of the appeal,” he teases, reaching for her leg, running his hands up and down the silk tights. “As is this lovely number.” He toys with the hem of her dress, a strapless black velvet thing that falls just above her knee. “Where’s this from?”
“Jo,” Katniss sighs. “She says if I’m going to be a cat, I need to be a Gretchen Wieners level cat.”
“For whose benefit, I wonder?” Peeta muses, cheek nuzzling gently at her lower thigh.
“You wonder?” Katniss laughs, taking her leg away and flopping onto the bed. She glances over at him, eyes sly and somehow soft at once. “I don’t.”
“I can’t help thinking,” he muses. “that this is something of a counterproductive plan on Jo’s part. Because now, I have a sudden and distinct interest in staying in tonight.”
“Oh?” Katniss raises a come hither eyebrow and pushes up on her elbows to accept the kiss he plants on her lips as he crawls over her, urging her back to the headboard. “Is it the cat ears?” She reaches up to give the (already molting) plastic and faux fur ears a flick.
“The Kat ears,” he says. He nips softly at her real ear and she shivers. “The Kat nose.” He kisses that too. His nose nudges her head back, inclining her neck at the perfect angle for him to plant a stretch of kisses down it. “The Kat neck.” His mouth wanders down the front of her dress and he scoots down the bed with it. “The Kat’s cradle.”
“You have that,” she says, hiking her legs up to hug around his middle because her arms can’t reach to hold him. “You’ll always have that.”
“A piece of that Kit Kat bar.” He kisses her stomach. “The whole Kit and Caboodle,” he teases and she laughs loudly, but on a dime his tone is changing, from silly and playful into husky and dangerous, as he moves lower. “Kitten,” he murmurs and her fingers curl in the bedsheets at the name. “Grab my phone,” he tells her, hooking his fingers around the band of her tights, “Tell Finnick we’re going to be late.”
An hour or so later finds the cat ears lost somewhere among the remains of their costumes and a hasty snack of pepperoni rolls cooking in the convection oven. Peeta, festooned in boxers and an old apron, presides over the food like it needs a baker’s supervision. Katniss perches on the counter, wrapped chest to toes in the white sheet she pulled from their bed, feet batting absently at the cabinets.
“This is a good look too,” he tells her, gesturing with the salad tongs he’s using to handle the pepperoni rolls.
“What is? This sheet?”
“I was thinking more along the lines of sexy ghost.”
“Or sexy Roman senator,” she laughs, tossing one edge of the sheet over a bare shoulder. “Sexy Julius Caesar.”
“You’d make a good Julius Caesar,” he says.
“Why?”
“You’ve got that “came, saw, conquered” vibe. Least that’s how I felt that night at Finnick’s party.”
“Conquered?”
“I was gonna say seen, but — yes. Conquered too. I couldn’t stop looking at you.” He snaps his fingers. “Sexy ice queen? Definitely.”
“I’m not exactly sure what kind of Freudian analysis one could make on falling in love with the guy dressed as your fictional sister but — ”
Peeta shrugs as the timer beeps, and he sets to fishing the pepperoni rolls onto a plate for them to share. “I choose to think of it as a metaphor for how the two people you love most in the world are your real, actual sister …” He sets the rolls beside her on the counter and sets his hands gently on her sides. She lets the sheet fall and pool slightly around her waist to cup his face as he leans in to kiss her forehead, very gently, thumbs rubbing circles on her hips. “And some loser who has the luck of … oh, I guess having the same first initial and hair color as she does,” he jokes.
“And the same beautiful heart,” Katniss corrects in a whisper. “I mean that.” She’s rarely so sentimental to anyone except him. She smirks. “And I haven’t even started drinking yet.”
“Well, my pretty kitty,” he starts, wrapping both his arms around her middle and hoisting her off the counter. She rolls her eyes, even as her hands card through his hair. “The night is still young.”

All For Show | Steve Rogers
Summary : Your sister is throwing a couples party and you ask your best friend, Steve to be your fake boyfriend. But things heat up, will it change everything?
A/N : This is from my old blog, @sincerelysaraahh I am going to change it up as I go along, but this first part will be exactly the same! Hope you enjoy! And if you would like to be tagged, send me an ask!
Tumblr media
Three knocks, that’s all it took before Steve opened the door. He stood there, wearing a tank top and sweats, and his hair damped from sweat, which only meant he just came back from the gym.
“Hey, didn’t expect you here today.” He smiled, waving you in.
“I know, but I needed to talk to you.”
You walked in to his apartment, and plopped down onto his couch. His place was like your second home. You were always there, and if you weren’t, then you two were at your place.
“Beer?” He asked, walking to the kitchen.
“Nah, just water.”
Steve tossed you a water bottle, as he started back toward the living room where you waited.
You took a big swig of the water and felt the cold liquid trickle down your throat. Making you feel somewhat at ease.
“So what did you need to talk to me about?” Steve asked, leaning against the wall across from you.
For some reason you were feeling nervous. Which was strange. Steve was your best friend. You two were so close, you were able to talk to him about anything. He’s seen you in sweats with no makeup on. He’s helped you when you were a drunken mess. And yet, you were somehow nervous about this topic.
“Y/N.” he snapped his fingers, catching your attention. “You okay?”
You slowly nodded, running your hand through your hair. Something you did when you were nervous.
“So my sister is throwing a couples party tomorrow night, and when I RSVP’d a month ago, I was dating Jared-”
“The asshole.” He cut you off.
“Woah, language.” You teased.
He dramatically rolled his eyes and huffed. “Anyways, go on.”
“As I was saying, I told her I’d go and now she’s expecting me to be there.”
“So?” He drawled out.
You swallowed hard, meeting your best friends gaze.
“I was wondering if you can go as my fake boyfriend.” You slightly winced as the words finally fell from your lips.
Steve stayed quiet for a moment. Looking at every feature of your face, searching for any sign of bluff.
Though this wouldn’t be the first time you two pretended to be together. But it usually followed with a fake fight after catching each other with a one night stand neither of you cared to last.
It was sort of like a game. You’d text him ‘BF’ and he knew exactly what to do.
You would both laugh about it for hours after the strangers left, and even made fun of each other for what would be said between you two in the “fake” fight.
But to do this for the whole night, and involving family and friends. That was a completely different story.
“Please do me this one solid.” You said. “Seriously, I’ll do anything. I’ll even give you Riley’s number from work.”
Suddenly he was interested. With the name rolling off your tongue, he started to feel himself lean toward yes.
“Riley, the girl you forbid me to even talk to?” He smirked.
You let out a sigh, and nodded. “Yep. And all you have to do is pretend to be my boyfriend.”
Steve crossed an arm over his chest and rested his other hand under his chin. He contemplated to himself for a minute. Going over the pros and cons.
“Steve!” You yelled. “Please!”
He let out a chuckle, giving in. “Okay! Okay!” He surrendered. “I’ll be your fake boyfriend.”
“God, thank you!” You felt relieved.
“No problem, Doll.” He winked. “Don’t worry, I’ll be the best fake boyfriend you’ve ever had.”
You rolled your eyes and started for the door.
“Let’s not get too cocky okay?” You chuckled. “I’ll come by at six tomorrow and we can take a cab to the restaurant.”
Steve nodded, walking behind you. “Is it formal or casual?”
“Formal.” You groaned. Any party you had to get super dressed up for, was a party you dreaded.
“Okay, well, I will see you tomorrow then.”
Before exiting the apartment, you turned on your heels and met his gaze. “Don’t forget, okay? Tomorrow at six.”
“I know mom. Don’t worry.” He teased.
—-
The door swung open and immediately Steve was mesmerized. His eyes glanced up and down your body, as a smile crept up on his lips.
“Wow.” He exhaled. “You look-”
“Ridiculous, I know.” You cut him off.
“I was going to say beautiful.” He said, with a little shake to his head. “I’m used to seeing you in yoga pants. Not that it’s a bad thing.”
Rolling your eyes, you looked at your phone for the time.
“Alright, we should leave now. The party is downtown and it’s pretty crazy packed on the streets right now.”
Steve nodded, as he slipped his watch on and closed the door behind him.
“Shall we, babe?” He winked.
You looped your arm with his, chuckling to yourself as you played along.
“Of course honey.”
The two of you went back and forth, giggling at the stupid pet names you came up for each other, though most of them were never to be used again.
It took a while for the taxi, but it was okay. Because you had Steve with you to keep you occupied.
“So how long have we been dating?” He asked, sliding into the cab beside you.
“Mm I was thinking six months?”
Steve shook his head, “let’s make it a year. And be one of those obnoxious couples that make people sick but low key wish they were us.” He chuckled.
You belted out into laughter, agreeing with him. “Yes! Let’s do it! My sister would shut her pants!”
“Don’t bring boys home that often huh?” He teased.
“Nope. My family thinks I have commitment issues. Can’t stay with anyone longer than six months.” You shrugged. “So, if we say a year, they probably would have a heart attack.”
“Damn, then I should of went all out and bought a ring.” He cackled.
Your stomach hurt so much from laughing, it was beginning to ache. But it was a good pain. Something you haven’t felt in a while.
“Alright, lets not get too carried away now. We need to make it believable.” You giggled.
As the ride to the restaurant continued, you were able to go over an entire fake story with Steve.
How you met. Where he took you on your first date. The first kiss. Etc.,
It was kind of perfect. Something you read in books. But somehow, you were able to picture it all with him. And for that, you felt a bit off.
—-
Before going into the restaurant, you turned to Steve. Your stomach was in knots and suddenly you were nervous again.
“Maybe we should forget this and just go back home.” You exhaled.
Steve scrunched his brows together, shaking his head. “What? No. come on Y/N, we are dressed up, we came up with a great story, it’s going to be okay.”
You were feeling as though you couldn’t breathe. Taking in deep breaths and letting it out slowly.
He scooped your chin and slightly lifted, forcing you look right at him. His lips curved at the edges giving you a sense of ease.
“I’m here. Okay? Everything is going to be just fine.” He whispered. “I promise.”
And just like that, you felt your anxiety somewhat fade. And somehow, you believed him.
“Thank you.” You exhaled.
Steve flashed a cheeky grin, “ready?” Displaying his hand out to you.
Slipping your hand into his, you nodded. “Ready.”
The two of you made your way into the restaurant. Your fingers intertwined with each other, looking like the couple you had planned.
“Y/N!” Your sister called out, waving at you.
You spotted her quickly, and started toward the back.
“Hey!” You smiled, pulling her in for a quick hug.
“I’m so glad you made it.” She exclaimed. “I was sure you wouldn’t come since you usually don’t have a boyfriend on Valentine’s Day.”
You shrugged your shoulders, forcing yourself not to say anything mean.
“This is my boyfriend, Steve.” You stated. “Steve, this is my sister, Y/S/N.”
They shook hands, and said their hellos. Your sister was in awe with his looks. She couldn’t help but stare.
Steve cleared his throat, catching both yours and your sisters attention.
“I’m going to get a beer, want anything babe?” He asked.
“I’ll just have a vodka martini.” You smiled.
Steve nodded, and pressed a quick peck to your cheek, before escaping to the bar. Leaving you alone with your sister.
“Holy shit balls, your boyfriend is hot!” She exclaimed. “I mean, that body and that smile and don’t get me started on that butt!”
“Okay!” You chuckled. “I get it.”
“What? How can you be with someone that gorgeous and not want to jump his bones all the time?” She went on.
You looked back at Steve, who leaned on the bar. Probably waiting to order the drinks.
Your sister was right though, Steve was pretty hot. Which you knew before, but this time was different. Somehow, looking at him now, you felt a warm sensation pool in the pit of your stomach.
“When you’re done with him, you should send him my way!” Your sister cackled, snapping you back to reality.
Scrunching your brows, you shot her a glance. “Aren’t you engaged to tony?” You asked. “I don’t think he’ll like that very much! Besides, whose to say we will break up?”
“Dude, your longest relationship was six months. That’s it. You aren’t a relationship type of girl.” She said. “How long have you two been together anyways?”
A smile formed on your lips. “A year.”
Her eyes looked as if they were about to pop out of the socket. Which oddly enough, was the reaction you wanted.
“Bull shit.” She whispered.
You went back and forth with your sister. Explaining the story to her, which she bought. It was so convincing, that you were beginning to believe it was real yourself.
Steve waited for the drinks to be made. His gaze glanced around the restaurant, until they landed on you.
The way your red dress hugged your curves so perfectly, made it impossible for him to not be mesmerized.
“Here you go.” The bartender smiled, deliberately flirting with him.
“Thanks.” Steve grabbed the two glasses and as he was about to return to your side, the bartender reached for him forearm, catching his attention.
“Maybe after my shift we can get to know each other.” She winked.
Usually Steve would oblige. He loved hooking up with pretty blondes. Especially if he didn’t need to remember their names.
But he looked at you and suddenly he didn’t want to let you down.
“Actually, I can’t.” He said, giving her a soft smirk. “I have to get back to my girlfriend.”
Without another word, Steve made his way back over to you.
“Oh hey stranger.” You chuckled, taking the drink from his hand.
“Sorry, the line was pretty chaotic back there.”
Steve pressed his hand against your back, and gently pulled you closer to him. He was definitely playing the part perfectly.
—-
An hour had come and gone. Both you and Steve mingled with some of your friends you hadn’t seen in years.
The dinner was pretty amazing as well. Not once did you drop anything on yourself.
Your sister enjoyed Steve’s company. She talked to him more than she talked to you. Asked him questions about his life, about work, and hobbies. She even asked him about you.
“So, how did you manage to get my sister to agree to go out with you?” She asked, taking a sip of her cosmo.
Steve shrugged his shoulders. “I honestly think it has to do with us being close friends before we started dating.”
“Y/N can be a pain in the ass though. And extremely stubborn! I remember when we were little, she always told my parents and I that’d she never want kids and never want to get married.” Your sister chuckled. “She was anti love. For almost all her life.”
Steve glanced back at you, and even though you were in the middle of belting out into laughter, he was still in awe.
“Don’t take it personal if she ends up pushing you away soon.” Your sister muttered. “She tends to ruin all good things that happen to her.”
“Well, no offense to you but I have a feeling things are different this time.” He said with a serious tone. “Excuse me.”
With that, he turned on his heels and made his way to you. Adrenaline pulses through his veins and something inside him sparked.
The moment he stood in front of you, he cupped your cheeks and instantly pressed his lips to yours.
Chills covered you from head to toe. And your breath shook in the back of your throat.
You were taken aback. But as confused as you were, you motioned back, pulling him in closer.
His lips were soft and warm, and tasted of the beer he sipped on just before. The way his tongue grazed against yours, forced your legs to shake. You couldn’t believe the power the kiss had over you.
Sure you’ve kissed people before, but never had it left you feeling the way you did right now.
Steve pressed his forehead against yours, giving you both a chance to breathe.
“Sorry, just had to prove a point to your sister.” He whispered.
And suddenly you were brought back to reality.
That’s it. It was all just for show. Of course it was. Why else would he have kissed you?
Your stomach felt like it dropped, as you took a step back from him and forced a smile. Though, you were fighting back the tears.
“I need some water.” You said. “I’ll be back.”
Not giving him a chance to react, you started toward the bar. Biting the inside of your cheeks as you tried to keep the tears from strolling down. You didn’t want anyone especially your sister to see you upset.
This feeling you had was so confusing. Why did it matter so much to you if it were real or not? You knew damn well he was there just to pretend. None of it was real.
You shot a glance back at Steve, who had his eyes on you already. Your breath hitched and you quickly looked away.
Your heart was pounding profusely, which made no sense.
But after a few minutes of thinking, it finally hit you.
“Fuck.” You whispered under your breath.

A Scary Birthday - Adachi Yuto
Request: Hey, Merry Christmas!! I hope you are having a good holiday. could you maybe make a Yuto spending your birthday with you (on december the 26th)? That would be really sweet. thank you - anon
A/N: So this is literally my little sis @y1u2t3o trying to be sneaky in my request, but I know very well her birthday is tomorrow and that this girl is ult Yuto biased. Happy birthday to my little sister!! I am so proud of you!! I hope you will enjoy your birthday and I hope you like this little gift!
Words: 1.6 K
Genre: Fluff, OneShot
Tumblr media
You wake up, because some noise coming from in front your bedroom door. You can hear your sister struggling to open the door. She turns on the light. The bright light make you close your eyes again. You sister sings you the Happy Birthday song and puts down a tray with your birthday breakfast on it. That is why she struggled to opened the door. You giggle and try to sit up straight, but you are still very tired. “Heey little sis! Happy birthday!” you sister says and kisses your cheek.
Today is your birthday. Every birthday is the same except the fact that you turn a year older and that the gifts change just like your interests. But this year will be a bit different. This year you boyfriend, Yuto, will be there too. It is kind of a big day for him too, because today… he is going to meet the family. You are probably just as nervous as Yuto. Your sister already met him a few times, because her boyfriend is best friends with Yuto. Yuto texted you till 3 am, because he was so nervous.
After eating breakfast in bed and receiving a lovely gift from your sister (you will see moehahhaha), you hop into the shower and get changed in to your birthday outfit. You put on a small amount of makeup, just to feel a bit more pretty and walk down stairs where your parents are waiting for you.
Around 11 am the house gets filled with a lot of family. Some friends and family visit. They are all happy to see you and all want to squish your cheeks. Somethings will never change.
You look nervous at the clock. Already 1 PM… you think. Yuto could arrive any minute. Everybody is busy catching up with each other and the room is filled with chatter and laughter. People are enjoying the food and each other’s company.
The doorbell rings. “That is Yuto” you sister says. “I will get it!” you are ready to run to the front door, but you stop. You walk back and look your friends,w ho already met Yuto before. “Be nice” you say in a serious tone “He means a lot to me, so be nice to him”. You run to the front door and open it. Yuto is standing in front of you with some flowers and a giant bag. The beautiful Japanese boy looks very tense, but his face turns happy once he sees you. “Happy birthday baby!” he says. You smile and give him a kiss. He is wearing something more fancy than usual. Not like he showed up in a suit, but you could see he put more effort in his outfit than usual. He did his hair and isn’t wearing a cap today. But still he is himself. He still has his earrings in and wears the same necklace as usual.  “Welcome baby, there are already some people and some more family members will arrive soon too”. Yuto’s face turns serious again. “It is fine, you will do just great” you give him a kiss. You take the bag to your room, before going into the living room. That way you can mentally prepare yourself for your family.
You open the living room door and noticed people are very quiet. Only some are still talking and others have turn around to see you enter the room. “So everybody, this is Yuto. He is my boyfriend” you say and show off Yuto like he is some trophy you won. You really hope they will like him.
The first person to come up to Yuto is your dad. “So you are Yuto” you dad says and sticks out his hand. “Nice to meet you, sir” Yuto says. Your dad gives him a very firm handshake. The handshake you told Yuto about in advance. When your dad meets one of your male friends or boyfriend he will give them a firm handshake to show, that if they hurt you they will be sorry. You dad nods and smiles at him. Still you could see your dad isn’t sure about Yuto yet. Next up is your mother. You could see she totally approved of him, well actually any boy would be approved by your mother. “Heey Yuto, make yourself at home. Do you want anything to drink”. “Thank you miss Y/L/N. I would like a glass of water” Yuto says. “Coming right up” your mom says. Before she goes in the kitchen she signs to you that she likes him.
After Yuto introduced himself to everybody, you could see he was feeling less nervous. But here is the funny part, now you start to get nervous. You just feel the questions everybody is going to ask about you two. You see your aunts standing up and walking towards you. So before they could get to you, you drag Yuto to the kitchen.
“Wow, what was that?” yuto asks. “Okay, so you said hi to everybody, now you can hide under a blanket upstairs and I will tell you when the demons are gone” you say overdramatic. Yuto laughs at you and asks “What do you mean?”. “My aunts are really to interrogate you, so it is time to run”. “Baby, now it is my turn to calm you down. It will be fine. I already introduced myself to everybody and they are all really kind”. “Yeah, that is because they just said ‘Heey Yuto, Nice to meet you’. Now the real horror starts.” you say. Yuto can’t help, but laugh at you. You are just very dramatic and he loves to see how you two switches moods so fast. “I am ready” Yuto says and kisses you before leaving the kitchen. “The fool…” you say and decide to follow him.
“So Yuto, where are you from” one of your aunts starts. “I am from Nagano, Japan” Yuto says. You aunt nods impressed and looks over at you. “So how long do you know each other and how have you met”. You look nervous at Yuto, but he is really calm and grabs your hand. “We have known each other for two years, but we have been dating since May” Yuto says. “We met in Japan and stayed in contact ever since. We texted a lot and then one thing let to another and now I can call her mine” he says and looks at you fondly. You can see your aunts started to like him. You don’t know if it is his low voice, his handsome face or the fact that he is extremely polite and nice, but at least you are happy they like him.  “What do you do for a living” you other aunt asks a bit more direct. “I make music. I perform with 9 other guys”. Your dad joins the conversation and starts to talk with Yuto about music.
Now you are our aunts new target, but your sister is ready to take the bullets and distracts them “Aunt Lisa, how is Uncle Bob doing?” she says and winks at you as you leave the table of horror. It could have gone a lot worse. Before you could sit down your nieces stop you, a.k.a horror interrogation part two “He is very handsome, Y/N. I wish I could get me a boy like that” one of your nieces says and looks over at Yuto. “Better be careful Caren, that boy is mine” you joke, knowing she isn’t a treat at all. “So he is Japanese right? AND he makes music?” one of your older nieces say. “yeah, he is actually very popular in Korea though”. “Aren’t you jealous of all the fans that look at him all day?” she asks. You look over at Yuto, who is now laughing at one of your fathers lame music jokes. You smile and say “actually no, because I know how much he loves me and that is all that matters”.
At the end of what sees like to be a very long day you finally can go to bed. Your aunts weren’t done with their interrogation and stole Yuto another hour from you. You welcomed everybody that come to you birthday and thanked them for the amazing gifts. Your friends were very nice to Yuto, just because you asked them too. You know they like to mess around and make you look like a total fool, but luckily they didn’t. It was a very busy birthday and for the first time in years you are actually exhausted. You got into bed and got very cosy next to Yuto. “Thank you for today. It went very well. I am happy to see that my dad and my mom like you”. Yuto smiles and kisses your head. “I am so happy it went well. Your aunts are hilarious by the way” he giggles as he thinks back on it. “Did they ask you when we are getting married?” you ask him. “No, but they did ask me and I quote ‘get intimate’ yet” he giggles. You laugh with him and you two talk about all the crazy, yet fun things that happened today. After a hour of talking you two decide to call it a day. Just as you wanted to close your eyes, yuto jumps up. It scared the living shit out of you “WHAT IS WRONG? WHAT HAPPENED?
WHO IS THERE?” you say. “I forgot to give you your gift” he says and jumps out of the bad. He walks to the other side of the room in complete darkness and turns on the light. You are pleasantly surprised by a Yuto without a shirt in very cosy Christmas pyjama pants. It makes you giggle.
Yuto grabs a small gift out of his bag and sits next to you on the bed. “Happy birthday baby” he says and gives you the gift. You rip the gift paper from the present. It is a beautiful necklace similar to the one Yuto has. You have been talking about how much you liked that necklace for almost two years now and since you can only get it in Japan you were never able to get one. “Baby! Thank you so much” you hug Yuto and put on the necklace immediately. “The necklace means a lot to me and knowing you have one as well, reminds me how much you mean to me as well”.
“Happy birthday” he says before kissing you. He turns out the light and climbs back in the bed. Only to kill you with some more hugs and kisses till you both fall asleep after the intense birthday.

Love Will Remember
Chapter 39: The Wedding
Some of us have experienced heartbreak in the most agonising way possible. The ache in your chest may be new or it may still be there after months or even years.
Now you’re questioning yourself.
Why weren’t you good enough? What could you have done to make them stay? Maybe if you loved them a bit harder, they would’ve realised something. That maybe you wanted them with every fibre of your being. That maybe if you went out with them a bit more, that things would’ve worked out. Maybe if you did things they liked, they would’ve changed their minds.
So you sit there, in the shower, crying. Wondering what went wrong. Why didn’t they love you the way they claimed they did? Why didn’t they choose you, when all you would’ve done was choose them in a heartbeat. Over and over again. Maybe your vision was clouded for a moment, but you knew deep down that you wanted them.
You just wanted them to try. To want you as much as you wanted them.
Loving too much always kills you. It rips you apart and messes up your mind. It leaves you wide awake at 3 in the morning wishing you never had any feelings.
But yet, you still find yourself loving them even though you don’t want to.
You yearn for their touch. You long to feel their lips against yours and your tongues to brush together. You want to fall asleep next to them, you want the intertwined limbs, the sound of their heartbeat that metaphorically only beats for you.
You want the pointless bickering, the long walks, the late night phone calls, the good morning texts, the cute pictures, and whatever else there is.
But mostly, you want them.
And it hurts to the point that you don’t want love to come knocking on your door anymore. You don’t want to even hear the word love because love is just an illusion, right? That’s fine. It’s okay to protect your heart. It’s okay to not want to let someone in.
But maybe, you weren’t only just the innocent party.
What if you didn’t let them try? What if they wanted to try and you shut them down? On purpose or not.
It’s over now, and you can’t help but wonder, will everything be okay? Will I be okay? Will we find our way back to each other?
Who really knows?
The cliche saying, “if it’s meant to be, it’ll find it’s way back to you.” We all will have our opinion on that saying. Some may say, if it’s meant to be, it’ll never go away in the first place. And some, may think that it’s not the time to be together just yet.
Again, who really knows?
But, this is cryptic enough, it is a wedding chapter after all. Let’s get into the lovey dovey heart-wrenching bullshit.
“I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate then when I fall asleep your eyes close.” These are the infamous words of Pablo Neruda. How many of you would kill to hear those three little words?
Love recognises no barriers. It knows not of race, social class, distance and many other ‘issues’ that people are so quick to point out.
Do you ever have that feeling of connection? Knowing that someone; your significant other, whoever it may be, was out there somewhere thinking about you the same time you were thinking about them? It’s difficult to imagine your life without them, because they have such a hold over you.
It’s the way they touch you without their hands, it’s the way they make you feel as though everything is going to be alright, it’s the way they touch your soul, it’s the way you fall in love with them over and over again each and every single day.
It’s when, the “if it’s meant to be, it’ll find it’s way back to you,” comes back to you.
Maybe ten years from now, you’ll be admiring the view from your apartment in New York, reminding your significant other about the time they broke your heart. It’s petty, but you might do it. Then, you’ll look at the ring on your finger, and you’ll realise that it’s worth it. That the pain was worth it.
You’ll kiss them and tell them that you love them. And everyday thereafter would feel like a dream. It’ll make the dramatic crying in the shower worth it. It’ll make the excruciating pain in your chest worth it. It’ll make the questioning as to whether or not, you were good enough worth it.
But.
What if you don’t end back up with that person? Maybe you decided to let love back in. Whoever the person is, they would hold your heart as though it was the most precious thing on this earth. They’ll look at you, and you’ll feel as though you’re the only two persons to ever exist. Their voice is enough to drive you crazy, and their touch. Oh boy, their touch would be able to knock you off your feet.
And the good part about this?
They’ll be there to catch you when you fall.
Lauren and Camila’s relationship was never smooth sailing. It had the constant fighting. The constant “Why are you dating me?” The constant questioning whether or not they loved each other. And to top that off, the accident that seemed to have ended everything.
But it didn’t.
Not even memory loss could’ve stopped Lauren from loving Camila. She may have took some time to remember the love of her life, but she couldn’t just ignore the way her heart raced at the sight of the brunette. She couldn’t help the way she felt around her. So even though her mind forgot, love remembered.
Love will always remember.
They found their way back to each other after everything. After all their trials and tribulations, they found their way back to each other and did not intend on letting go.
*** *Camila’s Changing Room*
“Guys,” Camila ran into her changing room. “Where is Ally? Why isn’t she here yet?!” She asked all flustered, eyes darting wildly across the room.
Ally had become ordained just for this occasion. They couldn’t see themselves being married by anyone else but by the woman.
Dinah, Maggie, Ariana had just finished getting ready. They were all clad in white dresses that had a lace top. Much to Ariana’s protest, she was dragged into being part of Camila’s bridal party because her girlfriend insisted that she had to be.
“I don’t know. I tried calling her, but I think her phone is dead,” Dinah said as she pulled her friend into the room and directed her to sit. “She’ll be here. Don’t worry. Let’s get you dolled up.”
Camila tried to quell her nerves. She wanted everything to be perfect. It needed to be perfect. Because Lauren deserved that much. She deserved nothing less than perfection. Three months had passed since their engagement and both women couldn’t possibly wait to start their lives afresh together.
“Knock, knock,” a familiar British accent snapped Camila’s out of her thoughts. When she looked up and laid eyes on the familiar blonde nurse, she couldn’t help the huge smile that graced her lips.
Camila got up quickly from her seat, ignoring the protests from her makeup artist, pulling the woman in a hug.
“Please, don’t smudge your….make up,” the makeup artist groaned when she realised Camila already did.
Upon release from the hug, both women looked at each other from an arms length.
“Pez,” the brunette breathed out. “I can’t believe it’s you.”
Perrie chuckled. “Did you think I’ll miss your wedding?” She smiled. “You have Dinah Jane to thank for my invite.”
The Polynesian did curtsy. “I’m just here repairing friendships and relationships. I think I deserve an award.”
Camila gave Dinah a give hug and went back to get her makeup done. “How long are you here for? I remember you once told me that you were planning on moving back to England.”
Perrie nodded. She glanced at Ariana and Maggie who were bickering in the corner of the room for god alone knows what. “Yeah. I did move back to England. But I’m just here for a week. It’s nice to be back in New York. And it’s nice to be back for such a special occasion.” She sent a playful wink at Camila. “I always knew it would’ve worked out.”
The bride laughed. “To be honest, at one point, I didn’t think it would’ve worked out. I didn’t think we would’ve been where we’re at today. But I’m so grateful that we did.”
“We all are,” Maggie butted in. “It literally feels as though it’s been 84 years. But it doesn’t matter. We are finally getting a Camren wedding!”
Dinah high fived her. “Couldn’t have said it better myself. But now that your hair and makeup is done, let’s get you into that dress.”
*** *Lauren’s Changing Room*
“How come you’re not freaking out?” Normani asked as she zipped up the back of Lauren’s dress. “Shouldn’t you be a nervous wreck?”
Lauren laughed. “I’m trying not to look nervous, but if you can feel my pulse right now, it’ll feel just like a sledgehammer.”
“Okay that literally does not make any sense. A sledgehammer is heavy and if you’re beating that to the beat of a heart, it’ll be very slow, which means you’re probably dying,” Mendes pointed out as she did the finishing touches on her hair.
“Dying of excitement!” Taylor exclaimed. “I may not have approved of the way Camila just left you, but I see the way she makes you happy. And I’m happy for you, hermana. I really am.” She clasped her sister on the shoulder. “Just don’t go fucking it up.”
Lauren rolled her eyes and shook her head smiling. “I don’t have any intentions to. I love her. I want this. I want nothing more than to marry her and make her a Jauregui. This is what I’ve always wanted since I met her. Since I realised I was falling in love with her.”
“Despite the fact that she ran off, tried to kill herself, faked memory loss and didn’t want to come back to you,” Mendes glared at Normani who shrugged. “What? I’m just stating facts. Sometimes the heart is stupid. And sometimes it makes wise decisions besides it’s stupidity. I love the two of them more than anything. I’m glad you found your way back to each other.”
The bride clutched her chest and gasped dramatically. “Aw, Mani. Stop it. You’re going to make me feel things. Happy things.”
Normani laughed. “Ew. Let’s not. Feelings are disgusting.”
Taylor snorted. “Says the one who’s practically pestering Keith on when he’s going to pop the question to you,” the journalist punched her friend’s sister in the arm. “Ouch. Why am I even hanging out with you guys? I’m going to look for a sugar daddy. See you coming up the aisle, Laur. Break a leg.”
The younger Jauregui waved at the women as she exited the room. Not a moment later, Clara Jauregui stepped inside.
“Mija,” she said through tears. She hadn’t even gotten a full look at her daughter and had already began crying. “You look so beautiful.”
Lauren playfully rolled her eyes and turned to face her mom when her friends were done helping her get dressed, they excused themselves to allow the mother-daughter duo to have their moment.
“Mom, what did we say about crying?” The CEO asked as she was pulled into a hug by her mother.
“I never agreed to that. It’s every mothers’ dream to watch their child walk down the aisle,” Clara gently touched Lauren’s cheek. “I’m so happy for you, mija. You deserve this. And Camila, she’s such a lovely girl. I can’t wait to have her as my daughter in law.”
Lauren couldn’t help but feel endeared as to how much her mother loved her future wife. When the Jauregui family realised that Camila was back, they were shocked, but also extremely happy because they had searched for her for years, but always came up empty handed.
“I’m glad you approve mom. I really do. She couldn’t make me any happier than I already am. I’m not perfect, but I’m going to try to be for her. I’m going to be the wife that she deserves,” Clara couldn’t hold in the tears anymore. She began full on sobbing. “Mamiiiii,” the older Jauregui daughter whined.
Clara raised a hand to silence her daughter and dried her tears. She pulled a box out of her pocket, upon opening, it was revealed to be a family heirloom that had been passed down from generations. All the Jauregui women had worn in on their wedding. And now, the hair infamous Jauregui pin, was now Lauren’s to use.
Clara slipped the pin into her daughter’s hair and wrapped her arms around her daughter from behind, placing her chin on her shoulder.
“I love you, mija. Marriage is a huge step, but I know you’re ready to take it,” she kissed her daughter on the cheek. “The wedding is going to begin soon. Are you ready?”
Lauren smiled and nodded her head. “I’m ready.”
*** *Wedding Ceremony*
The guests had almost all arrived and took their seats. They were busy chatting about the decorations and how excited they were to see the brides. Meanwhile, Ally had yet to arrive leaving Camila to be in a mode of panic.
“Guys, where the fuck is Ally?” The bride was almost in tears. “I knew I should’ve asked Maggie to get ordained too!”
The restauranteur, who was busy shovelling appetisers down her throat, had looked up at the mention of her name. “Hm?” She swallowed. “Oh no no no no. I talk a whole load of horse shit. You wouldn’t want me to marry you,” Ariana snickered. “I’m sure Ally would be here soon.”
At the mention of Ally’s name, the woman approached them; smiling broadly. She sent a subtle wink at Ariana who returned the gesture.
Everyone’s eyes were trained on the woman; glaring at her but she seemed to ignore it.
“Hey, guys. No need for photographs,” the woman giggled.
Camila approached her fuming. “Ally! Where the hell have you been?! We’ve been calling you! The wedding is about to start and you only JUST got here! What the fuck?”
Ariana placed a comforting hand on her friend’s shoulder. “Camila relax. Ally is here. The wedding can begin soon. Let’s get into positions okay.”
The bride inhaled and exhaled loudly through her nose, trying to calm herself down. “You’re right. Let’s get into formation.”
Ariana and Ally snickered, causing Dinah and Maggie to wonder what was going on between the two. They hadn’t exactly been friendly. But ever since they were stuck together and went cake shopping for the wedding, they had seemed to take a liking to one another.
Ally headed to take her position at the top of the altar, whilst the bridal party took their positions on either side of the walkway. Lauren’s group on the left, while Camila’s was on the right.
Given that Camila had no one to walk her down the aisle, Lauren chose against asking her father to walk with her, but rather both of them walk by themselves.
The song they chose to walk down the aisle to was Perfect Duet by Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé. The song started playing causing all the guests to stand to their feet.
What no one was expecting was to see both Ed and Beyoncé entering into view and standing on either side of Ally.
“BEYONCÉ?!” Dinah and Normani screamed at the same time. “OH MY GOD ITS BEYONCÉ!” They said at the same time again. “OH MY GOD!”
Ally winked at her friends who then realised that she was the one behind it. Finally everything made sense as to why she had been late.
“I found a love. For me. Oh darling, just dive right in. And follow my lead. Well, I found a girl. Beautiful and sweet. Oh, I never knew you were the someone. Waitin’ for me. 'Cause we were just kids when we fell in love. Not knowin’ what it was I will not give you up this time. But darling, just kiss me slow. Your heart is all I own. And in your eyes, you’re holding mine,” Ed sang as his voice filled the speakers. It took a moment for everyone to process what had been going on before they started to walk down the aisle.
It was now Camila’s turn to walk down the aisle as Dinah had made practically power walked down to get a better view of her idol. She took a deep breath. This was finally happening. Her happy ever after was about to begin.
“Baby, I’m dancing in the dark. With you between my arms. Barefoot on the grass. Listening to our favourite song. When you said you looked a mess. I whispered underneath my breath. But you heard it. Darling, you look perfect tonight,” Camila felt all eyes on her but she dared not look, because it would’ve only intensified her nerves. When she stopped walking, Ed took the bride’s hand and kissed it, causing her to blush.
Maggie elbowed Dinah and whispered softly. “If only Lauren saw that, Ed would’ve been dead.” They laughed to themselves causing curious eyes to look at them.
It was now Lauren’s group to begin their way down the aisle. Normani had been internally and externally panicking; taking deep breaths as she was literally breathing the same air as Beyoncé.
“Well, I found a woman. Stronger than anyone I know. She shares my dreams. I hope that someday we’ll share a home. I found a love. To carry more than just my secrets. To carry love, to carry children. Of our own. We are still kids, but we’re so in love. Fightin’ against all odds. I know we’ll be alright this time. Darling, just hold my hand. Be your girl, you’ll be my woman. And I see my future in your eyes,” Mendes practically skipped down the aisle, smiling cheerfully at everyone. The only thing she was excited for was the food after the wedding because she was starving.
It was Normani’s turn to walk and her heart was hammering against her chest. “Holy shit,” she muttered under her breath as she made her way down.
“Well, baby, I’m dancing in the dark. With you between my arms. Barefoot on the grass. While listening to our favorite song. When I saw you in that dress. Looking so beautiful. I don’t deserve this. Darling, you look perfect tonight,” Both Ed and Beyoncé sang beautifully. Normani stood frozen for a few moments until Lauren cleared her throat loudly behind her. When she found her place near Mendes, she made awkward eye contact with Beyoncé and almost passed out.
When Lauren was revealed, all eyes were on her. The nerves had gotten to her and her eyes wildly danced around until it locked with her sister; Taylor. She sent her a reassuring smile.
“Baby, I’m dancing in the dark. With you between my arms. Barefoot on the grass. While listenin’ to our favorite song. I have faith in what I see Now I know I have met an angel. In person. And she looks perfect. No, I don’t deserve this. You look perfect tonight,” the singers softly sang the last words as Lauren stopped beside her soon to be wife. When both their eyes locked and the took in the appearance of the other, nothing more than falling in love again could be said to have happened.
As the music stopped, and the guests sat down, Ally smiled brightly at everyone before addressing them.
“I just want to thank Beyoncé and Ed for making a last minute visit for the happy couple. The song was absolutely lovely,” Ally directed at the singers who did a bow and waved at the guests. Shortly after, they took their leave.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, we are gathered her today to celebrate the love of my friends Lauren Michelle Jauregui and Camila Cabello,” Ally casted her eyes upon her friends. “In the years they have been together, their love and understanding of each other has grown and matured, and now they have decided to live their lives together as wife and wife.”
Maggie sniffled. “Fuck. I’m already crying. I hate myself. Ariana hold me, please.” Her girlfriend wrapped an arm around her. “I’m so so happy.”
“Marriage is a big step. It’s not something everyone would want. It isn’t going to be a bed of roses. It isn’t always going to be what we see on tv, where the couple is having a great time enjoying their married life. Marriage is also, the pointless arguing. It’s the harsh words that are thrown at one another even though you don’t mean it. But it’s the coming back together in the end and apologising. It’s the falling in love with your significant other over again,” Ally said as she was trying to stop herself from crying. “I was lucky to find my life partner.” She glanced out into the crowd and found her husband Will, who was holding their daughter.
“Marriage is a bond that isn’t just on paper. It’s where souls, bodies and minds are united. It’s where you love the person unconditionally, despite of their flaws despite of their imperfections. You accept them wholeheartedly and willingly choose to spend a forever with them.”
The brides were having trouble containing their emotions. Every word Ally said had hit them hard in their hearts.
“These two beautiful women endured a lot to reach to where they are today. I was allowed to share their story,” Lauren took Camila’s hand and gave it a light squeeze before releasing it. “Their meeting was unconventional…to say the least,” Ally chuckled. “Their love story started of in the bathroom where Camila broke down. And it only blossomed then. We all thought, that it was over one year later. But let me tell you, not even memory loss could’ve stopped this love,” Lauren laughed softly. “I don’t think any force on this earth can stop their love. They say, if it’s meant to be, it’ll be. It’s not just a thing people say, it happens. Things have a way of falling into place when you least expect it.”
“Love. No matter what, has the power to remember. Even when the mind tries to forget, the heart can never. The heart will remember,” the guests who were mainly family were fully aware of how much the couple’s relationship was a rollercoaster ride, that most of them were in tears. “Can I have the rings?”
At the mention of the rings, that was when everything started to feel real. It was winding down. Their happy ever after was going to begin.
One of Lauren’s younger cousins, brought the rings and handed them off to the brides. They agreed on a simple matching pair of rings that had either of their initials on it and the words 'Love Will Remember’ engraved on the inside.
“I want you to face one another, take each other’s hand,” Ally directed. When the brides faces one another they realised that they both were drowning in tears. It was going to be emotional for them given what they both had been through. “Camila? Are you ready to recite your vows?”
The brunette nodded and began placing the ring on Lauren’s finger. “With this ring, I, Camila Cabello, do hereby solemnly promise, to love you, Lauren Michelle Jauregui with all my heart until my dying breath. I promise to cherish you, to respect you, to know that you’re trying your best, to be your best friend, to agree to disagree on chocolate cake. I promise to love you in the good and bad days,” Camila said through her tears. “I want to fall in love with you when I see you falling in love with our children when they’re born. I want to continue to fall in love with you every single day until I’m senile and don’t remember who you are. But then I’ll fall in love with you again because you’re that amazing,” Lauren and Maggie laughed loudly at Camila’s lame attempt at a joke, meanwhile the  rest of the bridal party, along with Ally and everyone else remained quiet. “See? This is how I know you’re the one. You laugh at my jokes. I love you, Lauren. I can stand here all day telling you reasons why I want to marry you, but you are the only reason. I love you,” she finished slipping the ring on Lauren’s finger and brought it to her lips. “Love Will Remember.”
Ally then turned to Lauren. “Are you ready to recite your vows?”
The green eyed bride inhaled deeply and began to slip the ring on Camila’s finger. “With this hand, I will lift your sorrows, your cup will never empty for I will be your wine, with my heart, I will love you unconditionally. You will never have to question my feelings for you. I will love you forever. Until my dying breath. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.”
Normani wiped at the tears that were flowing down her cheeks. “This bitch didn’t just use the Corpse Bride’s vows and switched it up a bit on our asses. I loved that movie.”
“I love you, Camila. I have never loved anyone more than I love you. I have never believed in soulmates but I do now. I do believe in destiny because of you. I never expected to fall for someone and for someone like you because we are from two completely different worlds. But that didn’t stop the growing feelings I had since the beginning of our relationship,” Lauren used her other hand and stroked Camila’s cheek. “When I look at you, I see the rest of my life. I see us sitting on the front porch, looking at our grandkids, I see myself loving you until I can’t anymore. I love you, Camila Cabello. You are the love of my life and I can see that in your eyes when you look at me. This is the beginning of our forever,” Lauren kissed the ring she placed on her soon to be wife’s finger. “Love Will Remember.”
Ally smiled happily when the couple were finished with their vows, and turned to face the crowd, “Before I go any further, does anyone have any reasons as to why these women cannot be joined together in holy matrimony?”
Maggie handed her bouquet to Ariana and glared at the crowd. “If any of y'all have any shit to say, y'all gonna have to go through me. I spent millions in keeping this girl alive,” she pointed at Camila, “and I spent many months hoping they’ll fall back together. So sit down and shut up,” she glanced at Lauren’s ex boyfriend and former doctor. “That means you, Mahfud.”
The couple laughed and Ally spoke up again. “Seeing as there are no objections, I now pronounce you wife and wife, you may now kiss the bride.” This was the first kiss that they were going to share as a married couple and it was everything and more that they expected. The moments their lips touch, it elicited sparks throughout their entire bodies.
“Release the doves,” Dinah yelled.
Camila laughed against Lauren’s lips. “This is perfect.”
Her wife shook her head. “No,” she placed a kiss on her lips again. “You’re perfect.”
“Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you, Mrs and Mrs Jauregui,” Ally gestured at the newly weds. “May your life together be filled with ever lasting happiness.”
***
I could’ve went deeper into the wedding but eh 🤷🏻‍♀️ I thought the vows were the main part lol. Just one more chapter!! Well just the epilogue. I can’t wait for this to be done.

Exchange Romance - Chapter 7
A/N: Hey guys, me again. Sorry for the slow update but I've had a bit of a crazy week so I haven't had a lot of time to write. This chapter is quite long though so hopefully that makes up for it! The next chapter is going to be 'day by day' style as well. I was going to merge this chapter and the next chapter but I really wanted to post something today and I think this chapter is long enough as it is. Happy reading :)

Brave. This is the first word I would think of if someone asked me to describe Betty Cooper. Although these five small letters do nothing to describe the incredible human being that you are, they begin to describe what you are to me. The next word I think of is gentle, then strong, then intelligent, and then a millions others which would take a lifetime to write out. The truth is, a light such as yourself can’t be summed up with mere words, no matter how many I try to use. You couldn’t possibly be summarised because you are so much more than just a few sentences. You are your accomplishments, your failures, your memories, your regrets and everything in between. Every single one of these things has created you, the amazing, ethereal, kind hearted girl who I am incredibly lucky to call my girlfriend. You make me feel safe in this screwed up world and for that I am eternally grateful. Snowball fights and late night movies and vanilla milkshakes and that certain shade of green will forever remind me of you, surely bringing a smile to my face until my dying days. If someone ever asks me about it, I’ll be sure to tell them all about the beautiful blonde with a funny accent and piercing green eyes. The way her hair looks like pure gold when the sun hits it just so. The look of pure joy and wonder on her face at the sight of snow. The way she tilts her head back slightly and scrunches her eyes shut when she laughs. The tune she taps absentmindedly against the table as she does her math homework. If anyone ever asks me why I remember all of these small moments that anyone else would deem insignificant, I'll tell them it is because of you. The unforgettable Betty Cooper. The girl who had my heart from the second I saw her laughing away in a booth at Pop's. What I'm trying to say, or rather write, is that I love you Betty Cooper. Somehow it feels like I always have. Like I just knew, as soon as we locked eyes, that you were the only girl that would ever be anywhere near enough for me. I am so so happy that you're in my life, and now that you are I can't imagine my life without you. I hope that you have the most unforgettable Christmas, Betts, because you deserve it. You deserve all of the goodness and happiness in the world and I will try my hardest to give it to you. I love you.
This was the letter that Jughead wanted to send. The words flowed smoothly as his pen raced across the page to keep up with his thoughts. Before the ink on the first word had even begun to dry, Jughead knew he would never send this to Betty, no matter how desperately he wanted to. "What kind of wimp tells his girlfriend he loves her in a letter?" He mumbled under his breath before scrunching it up and tossing it in the bin.
What felt like several hours later, the bin beside Archie's desk was overflowing, crumpled paper marked with half finished sentences spilling over the sides of the small metal basket. Jughead held his head in his hands, willing himself to continue. This letter had to be perfect but nothing that he wrote felt right. His sentences felt clunky and his words sounded generic and impersonal. After many more failed attempts, he begrudgingly sifted through the paper mountain and pulled out the crumpled sheet hiding at the very bottom.
--------------------
Betty didn't realise she was crying until the ink became blurry, forcing her to clear her eyes before reading the final words of Jughead's letter. His fingers ran over the crumpled page, circling those three words that changed everything. She didn't try to fight her lovesick smile, knowing that her efforts would be in vain. He loved her. Jughead Jones loved her, Betty Cooper. She couldn't believe it. She had to stop from running and jumping around the room for fear of waking up her host family. She reread his letter countless times until she had it memorised, her mind playing the words over and over again. She reached over to her dresser and grabbed her phone, bringing up Jughead's name on Skype and calling him faster than she thought was humanly possible. He picked up on the second ring.
"Hi Betts," he mumbled sleepily, a groggy smile on his face at the sight of his girlfriend.
"Hi Juggie." Her voice was quiet but Jughead could hear the excitement in it.
"Everything ok? It's pretty late. Shouldn't you b-"
"I love you," Betty blurted out, her voice now strong and sure. "Jughead Jones, I love you," she repeated, more to herself than anyone else. Betty wished she had a camera to take a photo of Jughead the minute the words slipped out of her mouth. Pure love and adoration covered his face, no sight of his usual nonchalance.
"Betty Cooper, I love you." There were tears, and quiet promises, and three words whispered over and over again, so many times that they were the only ones either of them could remember. All that Betty wanted was to be with him. To be able to hold his hand, stroke his cheek, press his lips against hers, anything. She absentmindedly traced his face on the screen, aching for his touch. They kept talking until their conversation turned to yawns, the quiet sound of Riverdale in the morning flooded through the speakers before their screens finally turned black.
26th December
By the time Betty emerged from her room, Ronnie had already finished one mug of coffee and Hiram and Hermione were standing near the door.
"Ah, Betty, I'm glad you're awake. Hermione and I are heading off to Paris until the New Year. We have some meetings and things to attend for the company. You two should be fine here but Smithers is staying behind in case you need anything. Have a good time, stay safe," Hiram called over his shoulder as he strolled out of the front door, his wife on his arm. Veronica let out a small sigh when the door closed before quickly turning her attention to Betty.
"So B, I heard voices very late last night. What were you and lover boy up to?" Veronica questioned playfully, waggling her eyebrows.
"Nothing just ... talking," The blonde looked down at the table to hide her smile, failing to hide her happiness as her face blushed red.
"Just talking? If you say so. What did he say in that letter he gave you?" Betty looked up at her host sister, her face resembling that of a deer in the headlights. Ronnie had an innocent smile on her face causing Betty to narrow her eyes.
"What do you know?" Betty asked slowly, her voice curious but threatening.
"I know nothing. But I may have talked to a certain boyfriend of mine who may just happens to sleep in the same room as a certain boyfriend of yours. A certain boyfriend who might sleep talk." Ronnie's voice raised teasingly as she kept her eyes trained on Betty, her innocent smile now having morphed into a knowing smirk. Betty kept her eyes narrowed, still unsure as to whether or not Veronica was bluffing.
"What do you know?" She repeated, her tone becoming more threatening than curious.
"Fine, I give up, you're no fun. Archiekins was clearing out the bin in his room and there was a whole bunch of letters; all addressed to you, all written by Jug. Arch kept teasing him about it until Jug confessed that he loves you." He waited for a beat, creating a dramatic pause which only Veronica could pull off in an actual conversation. "But I wasn't lying about the sleeptalking thing." Betty couldn't contain the smile on her face. Last night the pair had said that they loved each other more times than most people did in a lifetime but Betty didn't think she would ever get tired of hearing it. "So then, last night wasn't just talking, was it?" The brunette raised her eyebrows again, this time questioningly instead of playfully.
"Yes, V, just talking. Sorry to disappoint," Betty replied, laughing when Veronica fake-pouted. "You are the only person I know that would be annoyed I didn't do anything other than talk with my boyfriend on Christmas. Well, you and Kevin."
"At least Kevin has his priorities straight. Speaking of which, shopping is compulsory today because, well shopping should be compulsory everyday really. But, we need to get you something nice for when you get to see Jughead again!" Ronnie practically squealed, looking a lot more excited than Betty.
"Fine, only if we can go sightseeing this afternoon. I haven't gotten to do any sightseeing."
"Deal. Now go get changed, I just got to make some calls," Veronica agreed mysteriously but Betty was too caught up in her daydreams to notice.
--------------------
Not more than an hour after their conversation in the kitchen, the two girls were walking around one of the many malls New York had to offer, arms linked at the elbow as they walked through the crowds of shoppers.
"Ok so, first stop, Victoria's Secrets? What colour are you thinking? I think you'd look good in light pink, maybe blue," Ronnie started rambling, talking about various styles of lingerie.
"Wait, what? Why are we going here for me?" Betty asked, her face revealing her confusion.
"To get you something for Jug, remember?" The dark haired girl replied before laughing at the blonde's blatant confusion. "What did you think we were shopping for, lollipops?" Thank god for waterproof makeup because Veronica was crying herself to tears at how naive Betty was.
"I don't know. I thought maybe a new dress or something. I don't really know if we're at the lingerie stage yet," Betty said shyly. She was used to talking about her relationship with Ronnie but this felt different, more personal.
"Not yet but I have a feeling you will be soon. You love him and he loves you, what else is there?" Veronica asked, as if it were as simple as that.
"I don't know it's just ... scary, I guess," Betty confessed, slightly embarrassed.
"B, I'm not trying to pressure you into sleeping with your boyfriend or anything but it's just how it is. people have needs. You might not feel that way yet and that's nothing to be ashamed of. If nothing else, we can always just go and get cute bras for you, Jughead never has to know." Betty hugged her host sister tightly, thankful that she wasn't pushing the matter.
"Fine V. Only because I know that you’re not going to drop this."
"I have raised you well my little kiwi." Veronica smiled up at her blonde friend with motherly affection, laughing when Betty crouched down to her height. Half an hour later, although Betty would probably tell you it was about five hours later, the pair walked out of the mall, arms laden with bags, all from the same store.
--------------------
They finally sat down for lunch at a trendy vegan restaurant, shopping bags surrounding their small table. Their food came quickly and they were just about to start eating when a high pitched voice interrupted them.
"Veronica Lodge, OMG! I didn't know you were back in New York!" A short blonde girl hurried towards them, the amount of shopping bags she was carrying rivalled Ronnie's.
"Zara? It's so good to see you! I thought you guys were in Spain for the holidays." Veronica rushed out of her seat and into Zara's arms, hugging her tightly.
"Just for christmas, we flew in this morning. You know how much I love the shopping in New York." She said, her voice bubbling with excitement.
"Tell me about it. Zara, this is Betty. She's an exchange student from New Zealand and she's staying with me in Riverdale until June." Betty stood up, remembering all of those years of etiquette training her mother had drilled into her.
"IT'S VERY NICE TO MEET YOU," Zara yelled very slowly, over annunciating each syllable.
"It's nice to meet you too," Betty replied, trying to not to laugh at the small girl in front of her.
"Oh, you speak english. I thought maybe you spoke dutch or something." Zara said, unfased by her mistake. She joined them at their table, contributing immensely to their mountain of shopping, and kept the conversation easy until Betty and Ronnie had finished their food. "You girls up for round 2?" Ronnie looked at Betty, waiting or her to answer.
"You two go ahead. I wanted to get in some sightseeing but I'll be fine on my own. I'll text you if I need anything." Betty said, ever the people pleaser. Ronnie thanked her silently before kissing her on the cheek and bouncing out of the restaurant, Zara following right behind as they handed off their shopping to an ever obliging Smithers. Betty chuckled at the sight of them before walking out of the restaurant herself, heading in the opposite direction.
--------------------
Juggie: Hope you haven't died from over-shopping. Betty laughed when Jughead's slightly morbid text lit up her phone about an hour after she'd left Ronnie. She'd managed to navigate the subway more a less successfully and then was currently standing in line to go up the Empire State building.
Betts: Not yet. Check back tomorrow and I might have a different answer. They texted back and forth until Betty got to the front of the line, eventually making her way to the elevator and stepping out once it arrived on the top floor.
She was speechless. The whole city was spread out beneath her, the skyscrapers looking like they were a normal size while the rest of the city looked like it was built for ants. She slowly walked along the edge of the fence, trying to soak up every second of the experience. Her phone buzzed in her bag, forcing her to tear her eyes away from the skyline and redirect her attention to the screen where a new text from Jughead waited for her.
Juggie: I love you. She felt unstoppable. Reading those words whilst standing on the top of the world made the butterflies in her chest flutter. Betty turned her back to the city, turning her camera around to take a selfie, the smile on her face bright enough to rival the lights which the city was known for.
Betts: I wish you were here with me
Betts: I love you. It made her so happy to be able to type out those eight letter. Jughead replied almost instantly.
Juggie: I'll be seeing you sooner than you think. She held her phone to her chest, smile still bright as she looked out across New York for one last time before walking back over to the elevator and heading back down to earth.
--------------------
Jughead and Betty continued texting for the rest of the afternoon, Betty sending him various photos of herself posing in front of New York landmarks. She ached to see him and sent him a Skype request as soon as she got through the apartment door that evening, making note of Veronica's absence and figuring she probably wasn't going to be back any time soon.
"Hey Betts," Jughead said as he accepted her request.
"Hey Juggie." She was almost breathless at the sight of him, not sure how he could make her feel like this through a computer screen.
"I was just about to order burgers for dinner. Archie's out somewhere and Fred's working late. I don't know why on boxing day but I get the house to myself so I'm not complaining," Jughead said, reaching for the phone to call the number for Pop's he'd memorised a long time ago.
"I think I'm in the mood for pizza. You up for a movie tonight?" She asked, barely able to keep the expectation out of her voice.
"Always, any ideas?"
"I am in New York so I feel like 'West Side Story' is compulsory viewing," Betty said whilst scouring the internet for nearby pizza places. Of course there were a million.
"Not sure if I agree with your reasoning but you've convinced me, West Side Story it is," he said in mock disappointment.
"You've gone soft Jug. Probably just because you love me," she smiled, turning her attention away from her computer to look at him on her phone. His eyes sparkled and they somehow looked deeper than normal. His beanie-less hair was sticking up in all directions, leaving Betty wishing she could run her fingers through it.
"Anything for you Betts." His expression could only be described as loving and Betty had to bite her lip to try and prevent her smile from taking up her whole face. "However, I do have food waiting for me so I'll call you back in 20 minutes, ok?"
"Okey dokey. I'll see you in 20 minutes, not a second later. Love you!" She called out before hanging up the phone, promptly dialing Smithers number.
"Hey Smithers, do you know of any good pizza places nearby?"
"Certainly Ms. Coo-, Betty, I can go and find some for you if you'd like? Any particular toppings?" It had taken almost three months for Smithers to voluntarily call Betty by her first name but it still made her giggle a bit when she heard him struggle with the informality so much.
"Surprise me. That would be amazing thank you. I think it's a pj's and takeout kind night."
"I understand Betty. I'll bring it up to you as soon as possible."
"No rush. Thanks a ton Smithers!" Betty set up the TV and found the movie on Netflix, changing into her pyjamas while she waited for Jughead to call. Her phone started buzzing as soon as she walked back into the living room.
"You ok Jug? You look a bit flushed." Betty stated as soon as his face popped up on the screen, voice laced with concern.
"I'm ... fine ... 20 ... minutes ... isn't ... very ... long." Jughead choked out, breathing heavily.
"Did you run Jug?" Betty asked, trying to stop herself from laughing at his breathlessness.
"Maybe ... I think Pop's has ... gotten further away ... since you've been gone." A giggle slipped from her lips and Jughead laughed along with her, both just happy to be with each other. Smithers knocked politely on the door, handing Betty her pizza before slipping silently back into the elevator.
"Ok, dinner's all set, you ready to start watching?" She asked, the remote already in one of her hands as she reached for a slice of pizza with the other.
"As ready as I'll ever be," he replied, his breathing finally under control. The music for the intro started and Jughead couldn't tear his eyes away from his girlfriend. It wasn't the same as having her with him. He couldn't feel the weight of her lying across him, his arm wrapped around her or running his fingers through her hair. He eventually looked away when he heard the Sharks clicking through the streets of New York, the sound ripping him from his thoughts. They engaged in their usual movie conversations throughout the film, commenting on various things which caught their eye.
Jughead noticed Betty's uncharacteristic silence and looked down at his phone, the sight before him one which he swears made his heart stop. Betty was leaned back against the couch, wrapped up tightly in a blanket with her hair messily falling around her face. Her mouth was hanging slightly open and her soft snores were barely heard over the noise coming from the TV. He let himself look at her for a few more seconds before softly whispering those three small words and ending the call.
Veronica tumbled through the door very early the next morning, or late that night, she's not quite sure. She's greeted by Betty's sleeping figure on the couch, the Netflix menu on the TV, and Jughead's Skype profile on Betty's open laptop. Ronnie couldn't help but think about how the sleeping blonde was going to react when she found out about her surprise tomorrow. The raven haired princess recovered Betty with her blanket, shut down her laptop and the TV, and then walked down the hall to her room, her eyes closing as soon as her head hit the pillow.
27th December
Betty woke up to the sun streaming through the windows, New York already buzzing down below. She got up slowly and decided to make some pancakes, blasting her music in the kitchen while she worked. Veronica stumbled into the kitchen as Betty was taking the last batch out of the pan, fumbling around for her coffee mug.
“Fun night V?” Betty asked.
“How could it not be? Two girls armed with daddy’s credit card, sounds like a recipe for success.” Veronica replied sleepily, filling up her cup carefully. “Care for a stroll in Central Park after breakfast? I think a bit of fresh air will help get rid of this thumping headache I just happen to have accumulated.” The brunette’s eyes twinkled knowingly as she finished her sentence, causing Betty to giggle.
“New York, new Veronica? I thought you hated strolling, and the outdoors, and watching people exercise,” Betty pointed out skeptically, confused as to what had caused Ronnie’s sudden change of heart.
“You never know, maybe we’ll find something more interesting to do along the way.” She took a long sip of her coffee, dismissing Betty’s bewildered look.
“Whatever you say V. As long as it doesn’t involve shopping I’m good with whatever.”
“Speaking of shopping, you should wear something that you bought yesterday. What’s the point in buying it if you’re not going?” Ronnie asked, feigning nonchalance.
“What’s going on V? First you want to ‘go for a stroll’ and now you’re trying to get me to wear nice underwear for said stroll. Is there something going on that I don’t know about?” Betty was completely puzzled at this point and was frustrated that Veronica was being so secretive.
“Only time will tell. Eat up quick, I want to go to the park as soon as possible.” The brunette refused to meet Betty’s eye as they finished their pancakes, Betty’s mind racing with possibilities as to what Veronica could possibly have planned for them at the park. Although she would deny it if Ronnie asked her, Betty put her new baby blue bra and matching underwear on under her winter clothes. Ronnie all but dragged her out the door as soon as she was decent, stilettos clicked hurriedly along the icy pavement. Betty was lead this way and that for about ten minutes until she realised that Ronnie was following the signs to the ice skating rink.
“V, why are we going ice skating? I know how you feel about wearing shoes that other people have worn.” The raven haired princess shuddered at the thought before replying to the girl she was dragging along, a devious smile playing on her lips.
“If things go well, we’ll be doing a lot more than ice skating.”
--------------------
A bright smile lit up Betty’s face at the sound of children playing, a sure sign that they were getting close to the ice skating rink. Her curiosity was killing her and she could tell that it was taking everything Ronnie had not to spoil her mysterious surprise. As soon as they rounded the corner the ice came into view, but Betty took no notice. All that she could see was him. Jughead and Archie were leaning against the barrier, chatting animatedly about something, caught up in their own bubble. Betty ran over to them and jumped into Jughead’s arms, hugging him tightly. Jughead reacted in an instant, holding her close and spinning her around.
“I missed you,” she whispered in his ear, melting into him.
“I love you,” he whispered back. She shifted slightly in his arms, moving so she could rest her forehead against his, her green eyes getting lost in the depths of his.
“I love you.” Before he could react her lips were on his, desperate and loving, trying to convey how they felt now that words were no longer enough.
“As adorable as you two are, there are children here,” Veronica pointed out from where she was standing next to Archie. His arm was already wrapped around her shoulder as he placed a soft kiss on the top of her head. Ronnie’s eyes fluttered closed at the sensation, letting herself lean into his chest. Betty pulled back slightly, blue eyes meeting green, giving her a look that made her feel like she was floating. She had thought that reading those words made her feel something but after hearing them fall from his perfect lips, she didn’t think she could ever get enough. Reluctantly, Betty untangled herself from Jughead as he lowered her gently to the ground, her arm staying around his waist as she turned to face Veronica.
“This is incredible V, I can’t believe you did this,” Betty said, her emotions written all over her face.
“Anything for you B, you know that. I think Archiekins and I are gonna head back to the apartment, you guys want to tag along?” Jughead didn’t even check with Betty before replying.
“Thanks Ron but I think we’re gonna walk around a bit, maybe do some sightseeing.” Jughead looked down at Betty with a sly grin and she burst out laughing, remembering all of the strange pictures she had sent him yesterday.
“Ok well we’ll see you guys for dinner? Maybe watch a movie after?” Ronnie asked, taking over Betty’s usual role of organising everyone now that the blonde was too busy staring at her boyfriend.
“Sounds good, see you tonight,” and with that they were off, running away from their friends and deeper into the park, hand in hand, laughs ringing out and masking the sound of the ice skaters beside them. Ronnie watched them go, a small smile on her face as she watched the pair disappear through the trees. The couple stayed like that for a while, holding each other close and watching the snow fall around them, before slowly turning around and strolling off in the other direction.
--------------------
As soon as Archie and Ronnie were out of view, Betty and Jughead once again became a tangle of limbs, holding each other so tightly they almost seemed like one person. Jughead’s hands were cupping her face, pulling her into the kiss with everything he had. Her hands mimicked his before running through his hair, knocking his beanie to the ground. Neither of them knew how long they stayed like that, kissing the life out of each other, hands roaming as they pleased. Seconds felt like hours but even the hours weren’t long enough. The snow had stopped falling by the time their lips pulled apart, hugging each other as though they would disappear if they put too much space in between them.
“I love you.”
“I love you.”
Their words repeated over like a mantra until their voices turned hoarse from the cold, forcing them to held each other in silence. Silently, they let each other go, hands still joined as their fingers laced together. Jughead leaned down and picked up his beanie, the colour almost black from the dampness of the snow it was half buried under. He tucked it into his pocket, sending Betty that smile which made her heart melt. They slowly made their way out of the park not quite sure of their destination but not really caring.
--------------------
Jughead and Betty spent the whole day running around New York, hand in hand, laughter following them through the bustling streets. They retraced Betty’s steps from the day before, recreating her goofy photos with the camera Jughead had been given for Christmas. He was constantly taking photos of anything that caught his eye; a colourful sign, people caught in conversation, old buildings, Betty. She was somehow completely oblivious to his camera, too caught up in her own little bubble to hear the constant click or notice the lovesick smile on her boyfriend’s face whenever she appeared in his lens. Halfway through the afternoon, Jughead’s phone buzzed in his pocket.
“Can you grab that Betts? I really want to get this shot,” he asked without looking at her, eyes completely focused on the small screen of his camera. A small smile played on her lips at the way he looked when he was completely focused, tongue slightly visible through his pink lips as his fingers fiddled with some buttons. She watched him for a second before digging his phone out of his pocket.
Arch: Ronnie wants to go out tonight so we might not be here when you guys get back. Movies tomorrow night?
“It’s Archie. V’s taking him out tonight so we’ll be all on our lonesome,” Betty relayed, unable to keep her smile from growing at the thought of having the apartment all to themselves. She sent off a quick reply to Archie and was just about to turn it off when something caught her eye. Jughead’s background was the photo she had sent him yesterday, her smiling face looking back at her from the screen, New York filling up the background. SHe stood up on the tips of her toes and softly kissed Jughead on the cheek. He stopped fiddling with his camera and looked down at her.
“What was that for?” He asked, slightly confused by his girlfriend’s sudden display of affection.
“Because I love you,” she replied, slipping his phone back into his pocket.
“I love you.” He leant down to kiss her, slow but quick at the same time. “I don’t think I’m ever going to get tired of say those words,” Jughead confessed, eyes locked on hers.
“Good because I’ll never get tired of hearing them,” Betty said with a cheeky grin, pulling him back in for another kiss, lacing her fingers back through his and leading him through the crowd.
--------------------
They tumbled into the apartment later that evening. Jughead held takeout in one hand and Betty in the other. The two of them promptly collapsed onto the couch, not even bothering to take off their winter coats. Betty leaned against Jughead, closing her eyes for a few seconds.
“You ok Betts? We can just go to sleep if you want,” He suggested, concern leaking into his voice at the sight of his exhausted girlfriend.
“No, I’m fine. It’s just been a busy day,” Betty said, opening her eyes and smiling up at him, adjusting slightly so she could see him better.
“It’s been an amazing day.” His voice sounded soft, his hand squeezing her gently from where it rested on her hip. She snuggled in closer to him, leaning into his chest with her legs lying across his lap.
“It was truly incredible. But now we have to eat, my stomach is getting angry at me,” she commented, making no effort to move from her spot. Jughead chuckled at her response.
“A girl after my own heart,” he quipped, running his fingers through her blonde locks a few times before moving her off his lap so he could grab the food. Betty took off her coat and shoes while she waited for him to return, turning on the TV and scrolling through Netflix. They ate their takeout and watched movies, just like they always did. Betty was so happy that he was here and not on the other side of a screen. She sat as close to him as possible and took every chance she could to touch him; brush his hair out of his eyes, draw small circles on his arm with her thumb, kiss his hand as he held it in hers. Jughead found it adorable how affectionate she got when she was tired. It seemed as if her inhibitions melted away and she was truly herself. He had to fight off a laugh at the end of the movie when he realised she had somehow fallen asleep in what he thought looked like a very uncomfortable position wrapped around him. He was unable to extract himself without waking her up so he gently nudged her shoulder.
“I’m awake, I’m just … resting,” she mumbled, eyes still closed. The chuckle finally escaped his lips as he helped her slowly move to an upright position.
“You ready for bed babe?” He teased, brushing her hair out of her face.
“I like it when you called me babe.” She sent him a sleepy grin which made his heart flutter. God she was beautiful, even with her hair a mess and eyes half closed. He quietly stood up and half carried her down the hall.
“Which bedroom is yours?” Jughead asked when they got to the corridor.
“That one over there,” she pointed to a door about halfway down and Jughead chuckled again. “What’s so funny?’ Betty asked, not sure if she had missed something or if Jughead was just being strange. “Just Ron. That’s the room I stayed in last time I came here with her and she told me I would be in the same room again.” Betty smiled again, not really awake enough to give a proper response.
“Guess you’re stuck with me then.”
“I can think of worse things,” Jughead replied, kissing her nose when she scrunched it up in mock anger. Betty flopped straight onto the bed when they got into the room
“I can’t be bothered moving now,” she admitted, voice muffled by the duvet.
“Come on babe, you can’t sleep in your jeans. Where do your pj’s live?” He asked as he put his bag in the corner.
“Second drawer down. Just grab whatever.” Jughead could hear her voice getting sleepier and moved quickly around the room, grabbing a pair of flannel pj’s before walking over to the bed.
“There you go. Do you want me to wait in the bathroom?” She shook her head before dragging herself off the bed, starting to take off her sweater. Jughead walked calmly over to his bag, pulling out his own pyjamas. By the time he turned around to ask her something, she was only in her bra and undies. He help but stare. She was absolutely breathtaking. He tried to gulp down the lump that was forming his throat, will himself to stay calm but not quite sure how to go about it. Betty noticed him staring and let out a giggle.
“Like what you see?” She teased, a sparkle in her eye that Jughead hadn’t seen before. She walked over to him and he could have sworn it was in slow motion. She wrapped her arm around his neck and kissed him, hard. Where their other kisses had been filled with unspoken promises and loving touches, this was purely instinct. Hands roamed where they pleased and tongues collided, both of them trying to get as much of each other as possible. Jughead’s hands gripped the back of her thighs, pulling her up as she wrapped her long legs around his waist. He carried her the short distance across the room, his body pressed against hers until he carefully lowered her onto the bed.
“Juggie, I really want to carry on but I’m having trouble keeping my eyes open. Is it ok if we continue this later? I’m really sorry,” Betty mumbled into his ear. Jughead could hear the sleep weighing down her voice and had no problem complying.
“You have nothing to be sorry about,” he whispered back, content that she felt secure enough around him to tell him how she was feeling. She crawled across the bed and snuggled under the covers, patting the space next to her to encourage Jughead to slide in next to her. He did just that, wrapping his arms around her as her eyes fluttered closed once more.
“Good night Betts,” he murmured into her hair, kissing the top of her head lightly. He took a moment to remember this feeling before closing his eyes to the world and joining her in dreamless slumber.

Here’s a couple of questions for you to answer in character. Feel free to get into as much, or as little, detail as you want. Or as much, or as little, detail you think the character you’re applying for would get into. Answer how you think they would.
Before meeting your future housemates, describe what would be your “dream” housemate.: “Someone who doesn’t mind me singing showtunes at the wee hours of the morning & would be willing to share sweets with me when I ask nicely– or even when I don’t ask nicely,” she answers right off the bat with a small giggle. “They’ve got to let me pick the movie for movie night, which are a given, & trust me when I tell them that my taste is far superior.” The smirk that graces her face gives off the illusion that she’s joking. But anyone who knows Suki knows that there’s really no telling. “I’d like them to be open-minded & willing to try new things with me.” A pause ( for dramatic effect ) “& I’d prefer if they weren’t messy. Though, I can tolerate a slob so long as they keep their mess to themselves & away from my living area.” A hair flip just because. “That’s not too much to ask for, right??”
What are you going to miss most about home while at university?: She’s quiet for a moment, but it doesn’t last long. A quiet moment from the raven haired girl rarely does. “I’m going to miss my honey, Ryan. He’s my boyfriend, if you didn’t know. He’s off at uni a bit of a ways up North. You’d think I’d be used to the time apart by now since he’s years ahead of me but it always feels like he’s worlds away. I miss when we could spend nearly everyday together, lounging on my family’s boat, watching movies, going out to eat, or doing anything really. now our time together is reduced to skype dates & heart-felt texts.” She doesn’t mention that the skype calls & texts have been few & far between since he left to move into his residence hall a few weeks back. But rather, her expression looks pained as if it somehow physically hurts for her other half to not be with her. “I always miss him when he’s gone.” She clutches at her chest, subconsciously fiddling with a necklace he gave her to make up for some fight they had months back.
And what about romance? Describe your dream date, whether it’s a date you’ve already been on or one you dream about having.: “Ooooh,” she exhales, shimmying slightly in her spot. Her hopeless romantic little heart starts to flutter at the idea of a dream date. “I’ve always loved the idea of a picnic in the grass, laying under a clear blue sky while my honey is feeding me chocolate covered strawberries. Doesn’t that sound divine?? We could chat about anything & everything, maybe listen to some music, & share a few drinks with our meal. There’s just something about the intimacy & thought that goes into having a picnic that makes it heartwarming.” An almost dreamy sigh leaves her lips as she smiles a tight lip smile.
PARA SAMPLE
Suki had arrived in one town car while her fourteen suitcases arrived in another. Fourteen. The only reason she maxed out at that number being that it was all they could fit into the vehicle, the trunk, backseat, & front filled to the brim. She felt it was necessary to bring all of her life necessities with her, making a list & checking it twice to make sure she got everything. From wardrobe to hair & makeup to collectables that would liven up her room. She had made sure to get to the house bright & early in order to get a good room with enough space for all of her things. From the outside, the house looked to be a decent size all considering. As she stepped out of the car & took it all in, Suki admired how quaint the two ( maybe three including the basement ) floor home was. It paled in comparison to the large manors back home but it had its own charm to it. She failed to see how it could be shared amongst twelve people however, until she stepped inside.
Yes, it would make a decent home for the next year or so she had decided as she roamed around the place, her family’s help working to bring all her bags inside. Only two of them had accompanied her on the trip up to Everly Port. One to drive each car. Her actual family members couldn’t make it. With her father having a very important meeting & her mother making a prior engagement to make an appearance at a charity brunch, the only person who had the free time to accompany her was her little sister. But she was a mere two year old who would probably cry the whole way there so Suki thought it would be best to just travel without her. Not that her family’s absence meant that they didn’t send their love & support. They had actually bothered to wake up earlier than normal to eat breakfast with Suki ( who was used to being the early riser who ate in the dining room alone ) & practically coddled her until strapped in the backseat of the car & down the road. It was hard to say goodbye. It was even harder to watch her expansive house get smaller & smaller as the distance grew between her & home. But she was at her new home away from home now & absolutely determined to make it feel as such.
Once bags were stashed away in what she deemed the nicest room on the first floor, Suki made a show of bidding the help ado with tight hugs & well wishes. The sun had just fully come out of hiding when she had started unpacking. She figured it would be easier to get things all settled before her housemates arrived since she would be too busy introducing herself & trying to get to know them to decorate properly. Plus hanging clothes up & making her bed worked as simple activities to keep her mind occupied. Certain ideas had been eating away at her for weeks prior to her arrival. She tried not to entertain them but it was difficult. The idea that herfriends might replace her while she was away didn’t quite settle with her. The idea that Ryanmight replace her while they were miles away from each other was even worse. What would she do without her A Team by her side, there to root her on & keep her sane?? What if her housemates were absolute lunatics or crazy axe murderers?? What if the arts program at the school was incredibly underwhelming?? What if she was no good at City?? Why didn’t she just go to London?? All these worries & more swimmed around in her head. As she obsessed over the ridiculous questions, she subconsciously began to tidy up more & more until everything was in its place. It was as if she had gone into some sort of autopilot mode. Not that she felt bothered by that. Everything in her new room looked neat, proper, & pretty. Just the way she liked it.
As she straightened out the fluffy assorted pillows on her bed, Suki could hear the faint sound of a car door slamming. The first of the lot she presumed. She sighed as she did a small twirl around the space & took a moment to let it all sink in. This was it. No matter how anxious she was, there was no going back now. She was settled in & people were starting to show up. She did as she did before every performance when she could feel the stage fright creeping in– closed her eyes, took a few deep breaths, let them out, & smiled to herself. You got this, was her mantra. & with that she left her room to greet whoever else had decided to show up at the ridiculous hour.
ANYTHING EXTRA
Some headcanons I have for sweet Suki :)
LIFE & TIMES
She grew up feeling the love from her parents. They were good at showing their little girl the utmost affection & giving her all the attention they could manage with their busy schedules. The Roberts were always hard workers, not just sitting on their money but actively trying to make more of it. That’s where Suki got her belief that if you really want something then you have to work for it
As a kid, her home felt like a castle. Her home in St. George’s Hill was large and secluded enough from the city life that she could play around in her own little world. Her idealized princess life was heavily influenced by how spoiled she was. But Suki was never ‘high-maintenance’. She was entertained by the simplest things & had a knack for making something out of nothing thanks to her wild imagination. So all the toys & pets she had were a good enough source of entertainment but the young girl really preferred dancing in the living room with her imaginary prince charming or making a dress out of her silk bed sheets, running around in mommy’s pearls & heels
Her wild imagination is what convinced her parents that she would thrive in an arts school. She was an excellent story teller who enjoyed playing dress up. All were early signs of a budding actress. Although she originally hadn’t loved it, Suki found arts school to be fun. At least there all her classmates seemed to be like her, which was reassuring & made for a good time. Her peers not only matched her creative mind but encouraged it. She really enjoyed all the dancing, singing, & acting classes– mostly because she was very good at them
Suki hadn’t really started making friends until she started attending her arts school. Before then her socializing was pretty limited to the little kids that came around for playdates that belonged to her mom & dad’s colleagues & the members of the golf & tennis club that adored when her parents brought little Suki around for tea. School was where she got to interact with kids her own age that shared her same interests. She was a real social butterfly with an ability to draw in just about anyone’s attention. Maybe it was her sweet smile or welcoming spirit. Regardless, people just loved Suki & she loved that
Although she was a social butterfly & talked to many people, she only ever really considered a few kids her friends. Mallory, Jen, & Daniel to be exact. They were her very best friends. She met Mallory in a dance class when they were children & their friendship blossomed from there. Jen came around a few years later. Mallory & Suki would always run into her at the same acting camps so they figured they might as well start talking to her. Jen introduced them to Daniel (who also goes by Dan, Danny, Danny-Boy, Boy-O, & Dennis because of reasons). He is the most fabulous person Suki knows & is the one person she can fangirl with during any hour of the day over musical theatre. Together the four of them make up an arty little bunch of nerds who like to sing show tunes, have dance parties at 2am, & go out to the club in color coordinating outfits just so people will know that they’re better than them
The reason Suki’s nickname is Suki is actually because when she & Mallory first met as kids she introduced herself as Suzi but Mallory misheard her & called her Suki. She really didn’t have the heart to tell her that she was wrong so she just went along with it. After awhile it just seemed really fitting so she told everyone to call her that. Only professionals or people who aren’t all that familiar with her call her Susannah
She’s always been one to go out of her way to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. A shoulder to cry on, a hype (wo)man, & a good advice giver all in one. Although she’s good at sorting out other people’s problems for them, she was never one to solve her own problems. Her closest friends can’t even count on two hands how many times they’ve had to pick up the pieces for her because she’s incapable of doing it for herself. & they’re happy to do it considering all she’s done for them. The only problem is that Suki always seems to get herself into the same sticky situations over & over again. It’s as if she never learns her lesson. She can’t just double book herself & expect to be able to make it to both gigs or keep letting the same boy hurt her over & over again & expect him to change
Speaking of boys, Suki has her heart set on one in particular. Ryan is this handsome, intelligent, older man she’s been seeing for two years now. Well two years & a few months if you don’t count all the times they’ve broken up & then got back together. Suki met Ryan through a mutual friend when she was sixteen & starting Sixth form. ‘Til this day she isn’t 100% sure what he sees in her, but she’s forever grateful that he’s taken an interest in her. From the very beginning, he’s been a charmer. The smile, the eyes, the voice- it all gets to her & makes her heart skip a beat. They’ve had their ups & downs. Mostly because of Ryan’s habit of accusing Suki of trying to replace him with other men( or women ) & paying too much attention to her work. She’s always trying to please him. From telling him what he wants to hear to wearing things that she knows he likes because when Ryan is happy, he can be very sweet. However, when he’s not he can be very cold & belittles her to the point where she feels like nothing. But he’s usually back to being sweet & promises to never do it again. The promise is always broken. It’s a vicious, unhealthy cycle really but Suki is so dependent on him & truly believes that putting up with someone’s good, bad, & ugly counts as love
Suki had always been her parents’ little princess. Spending many years as an only child, she was used to receiving all their love & attention. So you can imagine that the idea of a younger sibling was a bit of a shock to her, especially because her little brother or sister was coming so late in life. At the age of sixteen, Suki had to adjust to life as an older sister. It wasn’t like the family didn’t have enough room in their manor to share or like they couldn’t afford to take care of another child. It was just a difficult concept for the girl to comprehend, having to share the spotlight that is. After her sister was born, however, Suki took on the role of older sibling with such grace that most would think she had a younger sibling her entire life. She happily watched over the little one, let her play with some of her old toys ( although her mother tried insisting on buying brand-new everything for the baby ), & absolutely adored playing dress up with her. It was like having a new friend for her to take care of. Except the two were bonded together by blood for life. Now, two years later, the little girl already looks up to her big sister & Suki tries not to let this fact go to her head. But it’s Suki. Humble isn’t necessarily in her vocabulary
Although talented, Suki is also a really hard worker, which has helped her achieve so much success when it comes to her acting, dancing, & singing. She was known to get lead roles & solos in school, hardly anyone could compete with her. But then she went off to college & she went through a miniature crisis. In college she wasn’t the best anymore. She was simply one of the best out of a lot of other talented pupils. Before, she felt like a big fish in a little pond. But in college, she felt like a small fish in a big pond. It was like she didn’t know who she was since she wasn’t at the top. Her parents had to boost her confidence again, like they’d been doing for years, & remind her that she wasn’t just attending that college because it was the best one that money could buy. She was attending that college because she was talented enough & was going to go far. Her friends were also a big help in reminding her that she was THE Suki Roberts & that meant something. So she quickly snapped out of her miniature crisis & continued on doing what she does best: being a star
Getting an offer, although conditional, to the top arts school in London was an absolute dream for Suki. It was everything she had been working towards since she was about ten years old. Finally feeling like she had something tangible to show that she was worthy of something, she couldn’t have been more excited & her family & close friends couldn’t have been more proud of her
To say that her heart broke in two when she went to Ryan, quite literally crying tears of joy, to tell him to good news & saw that he wasn’t happy for her would be an understatement. He almost immediately shot her dreams of moving out to London & studying among the best of the best in her field. She wanted to be mad about it ( her friends would late encourage her to fight him about it, like they typically did whenever he said or did something wrong to her ) but she just couldn’t find it in herself to be upset with him. Especially when he explained that he didn’t think he could stand being that far away from her, with him moving farther up North & her moving to Central London. As per usual he knew just what to say to make her heart melt & get her wrapped around his finger, willing to do anything & everything to appease him. With a heavy but hopeful heart, she declined the offer. But at least she got to keep her lover boy
Her family & friends weren’t exactly supportive of her decision. & she knew they wouldn’t be. Which is why she didn’t tell them that she would be attending City Uni instead of the fancy smancy arts school until it was like two days until moving day. It was hard for her to keep up the charade while they were continuously congratulating her & making all these plans to come visit her in London once she got settled. But Suki is an actress after all, she knows how to be brave under pressure. She waited until she got all the most important people in her life together in one room ( her mom, dad, sister, ,allory, Jen, Daniel, & Ryan ) & told them at the dinner table that she had changed her mind about going to London. When those who were unaware of her plan started bombarding her with questions, all of them yelling & freaking out her little sister, she made a scene of crying & giving a long speech about it being her life & her decision & not asking them to understand her but for them to just accept it for what it is. Then she stormed out for dramatic effect & left everyone shook in their seats. They had to deal with it one way or another. Suki had some of her family’s help assist with her packing up her room & most valuable possessions the next day so what really could they do
So up she went to Everly Port during the early days of her summer in an attempt to find comfort in a new environment. Her move was a bit underwhelming to say the least, but she still keeps an open mind. At least at City Uni she’ll probably be the best in her course ( or so she likes to think ). Plus she’ll get to make new friends, which is something she typically enjoys. She doesn’t expect them to replace her very best friends back home but she’s hoping that they’re good company. Apparently she’ll be spending the next year at uni with eleven of them in one house. Might as well make the most of it
PERSONALITY & HABITS
As a Leo, she loves attention, looking good, & has a lot of emotions that are all out there
The biggest nerd in the sense that she doesn’t just like things- she loves them. Will fall in love with a new show & then want to learn everything about the cast, crew, set, writing process, etc. Just completely wraps herself up in it & will be able to tell you absolutely everything about it because she does her research
Has a collection of playbills that she’s been building up since she was a little girl who saw plays with her parents in West End. She’s even travelled to America a handful of times & when she gets the chance to visit New York she sees a show on Broadway, every single time. A few of the playbills are signed by cast members, which she tends to fangirl about
Facetimes her mom at least once a week just to talk. Demands that her mom walk her around the entire house/all her favorite rooms & show her dad & sister because she misses them lots & lots
Also facetimes her friends once a week to catch up. They make sure to call her every time the three of them go out without her to tell her that they’d be having so much fun if she was there too. She keeps them posted on all the house drama + Ryan drama
Calls Ryan at least once a day. He usually answers & when he doesn’t she gets worried that he might be hurt or sick. She then blows up his phone with texts until he responds. Is it a little crazy & clingy?? Maybe. But he would do the same if she didn’t answer when he called so… y’know
Sings in the shower
Dances while humming when cooking
Always eats breakfast & encourages her housemates to eat breakfast too because it’s the most important meal of the day
Actually has really refined taste in pretty much everything because of her upbringing. From food to movies to music
But also likes to watch the absolute corniest movies & is such top 40′s pop music trash???? But she still swears her taste is totally superior
Bites her lip when she’s thinking really hard about something
Pokes her tongue out a little bit when she’s concentrating
Actually needs glasses to see & has a pair that she never wears out in public. She wears her contacts always & has since she was thirteen & first needed glasses. But she has a bad habit of falling asleep with her contacts in & then wakes up with dry & sticky eyes. Then she’ll complain about it but she obviously doesn’t learn her lesson because she does it all the time
Will totally let anyone raid her closet for clothes because she’s always wearing the cutest stuff. Doesn’t even care if they don’t give them back because she can always buy more + she probably owns it in various colors
She doesn’t necessarily throw money around, but spending it definitely it’s a problem for her. She’s very willing to replace broken things in the house or buy expensive gifts for friends. Like you go shopping with Suki & mention that a dress in the shop’s window is cute & then the next thing you know she’s throwing you & the dress into a dressing room & dashing to the checkout to buy it for you before you can blink an eye
Her room is always super neat. Believes in having a clean sleeping & working space because it’s a nice contrast to how hectic her mind & schedule usually is. Everything has it’s place
Super into home decor & having cute trinkets. Plus she likes color schemes & aesthetically pleasing things
Speaking of aesthetically pleasing things, her instagram account definitely has a theme. Mostly posts flashy pictures of her outfits, meals she cooks, cute selfies with her & her mans, & glamorous photos of her life on the stage
Doesn’t like when people interrupt her beauty sleep but she’s that type of friend who will jump out of bed at three in the morning if anyone was to call her in need of being picked up or just wants a shoulder to cry on
Totally the mom friend. Scolds her housemates when they do dumb things that could get them hurt, reminds them to eat healthy & study for tests, asks them how their day was, & worries about them when they go out at night. Probably makes sure that they all check in with her when they come in from a night out
When any of them bring someone home in the night, Suki is always the one to ask the partner if they want some tea, coffee, or breakfast before they head out on their walk of shame. She’s just super polite & maybe a little nosy so she’ll talk to them about anything & everything, which could be awkward for whoever they hooked up with but really she’s just trying to be nice
It’s funny because so many people think that Suki isn’t nice when they first meet her because she has this superior vibe about her plus she openly talks about how great she is so they think she’s shallow & full of herself. Like so many people who are her friend now have said something along the lines of, “I thought you were a total bitch when I first met you”. But she’s genuinely the most caring person & puts other people before herself always
Uses people’s zodiac signs to help in her matchmaking duties
Probably lowkey ships all her housemates with each other & other people & is totally torn between which ship she likes the most
Has a certain mug that is designated as her mug. Refuses to use any other mug & doesn’t let anyone else touch it, not even to clean it
Because she’s so short, she wears heels all the time but you’ll never hear her complaining about her feet hurting because beauty is pain hunny
Takes about an hour to do her makeup & an hour to do her hair + she takes hour long showers so anytime people want to go out they always encourage her to get ready hours in advance because if not she’ll probably hold them up with all her primping
But she’s typically never late to anything. She lives by that old showbiz saying, “if you’re early, you’re on time. if you’re on time, you’re late. if you’re late, you’re fired”
Says a lot of weird things that probably sound like something out of an 80′s rom-com or something
Though she be tiny, she is fierce. Not physically strong, but will do some emotional harm to anyone that has anything bad to say about anyone she cares about. Has made people cry with how brutal she can be but she swears they always start it
Super affectionate. Likes using pet names for everyone & has a habit of being pretty touchy-feely. Could be mistaken as being flirty but really she’s just being her normal self. Totally respects boundaries though so if anyone was to tell her to back off, she would in an instant

Rescue My Heart
A/N: A repost of this story (I think) because the original version got lost after I had some issues with my tags.
Another thank you to @imaginationisagift as I believe she betaed this for me the first time.x
Summary: DC!AU in which Katherine and Elijah are Catwoman and Batman. (Includes Robin!Kol and Harley!Caroline) Major Katholine brotp and background Klaroline.
Out of all the villains in Gotham, Katherine Pierce certainly wasn't the worst; but she was definitely the best. There were some real nut jobs in this city, psychologically damaged maniacs with personal vendettas and a penchant for causing chaos. Katherine wasn't interested in all of that.
Any evil she was responsible was always a necessary evil, from her perspective, born out of a strong sense of survival instinct. So she stole a couple of things here and there; precious stones; priceless artefacts; the odd identity occasionally but she never threatened to blow up four storey buildings or dangled a school bus full of children off a bridge.
No that kind of erratic behaviour got you caught.
And Katherine Pierce did not do messy situations with the whole city as an audience with the cops surrounding you, guns poised ready to riddle you with bullets at the slightest twitch.
That's why she was currently gliding stealthily over rooftops in the dead of the night - in heels, one might add. Clad in her trademark black latex catsuit and mask. The cool air of the evening whipping past her as she streaked through the night unbeknownst to the sleeping residents of Gotham city.
Breaking into the art gallery was a piece of cake. She almost wished the idiots in charge of keeping people like her out, had bothered to get a better security system. Just to give her some kind of challenge.
She bent over, trying to disable the security door between her and the vault, that held a big, fat, ruby, Katherine hoped to get her hands on. Suddenly, there was a shuffling sound from behind her, she whirled round in the direction of the noise narrowing her green feline-like eyes and listened.
Only to get the shock of her life a second later.
"Hey there Kitty Kat!" Came a familiar and annoyingly perky voice from behind her.
Katherine turned to glare incredulously at the offending person.
"Dammit Caroline! What the hell did I tell you about sneaking up on me like that!? You were literally this close to sudden death,"
Caroline shook her head and giggled.
"Nuh ah, Kitty Kat, not with my trusty hammer around," She lifted up the weapon that had been resting on her shoulders and placed an affectionate kiss on it.
Katherine stopped and took a moment to look Caroline over. She had a red, leather jacket resting on her shoulders and a t-shirt on that said "Daddy's Little Monster" printed in cursive; an extremely poor excuse for pair shorts clung to her hips and backside; on her toned seemingly infinitely long legs, you could see a couple of tattoos printed under the mesh of her fishnets; completing the look, were a pair of black and white, heeled, lace up sneakers combined that with various accessories; skull rings, bracelets with spikes on them and of course there were her blonde curled pigtails, the ends of each dipped in a fluorescent shade of blue and pink respectively.
There was no mistaking, Caroline was strikingly gorgeous, even under the heavy clown-like makeup. In plain clothes, she was every man fantasy. In her current attire, she looked like the fantasy of a teenage boy who read way too many comic books.
"Where's your partner in crime Carebear?" Katherine asked looking around for any signs of the person in question.
Caroline tilted her head with a bemused pout, twirling the end of one of her pigtails around her finger, reminding Katherine of a confused golden retriever puppy.
"You know," She coaxed sensing Caroline's confusion "Red hair, tree hugger, shrieky voice, bat-shit crazy?"
Caroline pondered for a bit, twisting her body left and right as she contemplated. Then her face lit up in giddy realisation.
"Ohh, you mean Rory! She won't come out and play with me tonight, she's having an important meeting with Tristan, apparently," She said rolling her eyes dramatically.
Katherine made a face of disgust at the mention of the Riddler. She was certain there was something going on between himself and his sister, something that went beyond the boundaries usually drawn between siblings.
"And Klaus? Has he decided to let you off the leash tonight?" She quipped.
Caroline made the same confused face.
"Klaus never ties me up silly, not unless I've been a naughty girl," She giggled earning her an eye roll from Katherine.
Katherine was never one to get involved in other people's affairs, that lead to taking an interest in the person and eventually. Caring.
Unfortunately, for her, at this point, Caroline was much like a bad rash that no amount of ointment could clear up. For some reason, she'd decided they should be best friends (a notion she had firmly objected to, not that Caroline had taken any notice) and since then she couldn't help being a little concerned for Caroline's welfare.
Afterall Klaus Mikaelson, the green haired, psychopathic, self-proclaimed King of the city, was no one to trifle with. Many trembled at even the merest whisper of his name. It was unclear to Katherine how Caroline went from a respected psychiatrist at Arkham to playing sidekick/lover to the feared crime lord of the city.
She never went looking for problems, hence why herself and Klaus had never directly crossed paths, but based on the small - regrettable - attachment she'd made to Caroline, she'd be happy to pay 'The King' a little visit if he was hurting Caroline.
But Caroline spoke about Klaus like the sun literally shone out of his ass.
Caroline might be a little off her meds at times but she was pretty adroit when it came to using that hammer, she'd seen her in action once or twice, so surface wise anyway, Caroline didn't strike Katherine as a victim of abuse and what with the considerable amount of skin she always had on show, she probably would've spotted any bruises by now.
That didn't mean she wasn't keeping an eye out, though.
"Spare me the details cupcake," Katherine drawled, picking up the tool she'd dropped on the floor after Caroline had surprised her. "Sorry sweetie but I can't play with you tonight either, I'm busy,"
"Whatcha doin'?" Caroline sing-sang, swinging her hammer by her side and rocking on the balls of her feet.
"What's it look like?"
"You're breaking in the vault," Caroline stated the obvious before exclaiming. "Lemme help!"
"It okay Caroline, I got it,"
"Here, use this," She said before pulling an entire stick of dynamite out from her chest area.
"Holy shit!? What the hell Caroline, do you just carry that thing around with you in your fucking bra?"
"You never know when you might need it," She shrugged tossing the stick in Katherine's direction.
"Wh- no! Caroline, no explosives, no blowing things up," she exclaimed, tossing it back in Caroline’s direction.
Caroline pouted crossing her arms like a bad-tempered child.
"Why not?"
Katherine paused, pinching the bridge of her nose, realising that she wasn't going to get anywhere attempting to reason with her. Suddenly receiving an epiphany, she turned slowly and gave Caroline a devious smile.
"You know what Carebear? I'm super glad that you came here tonight, I need you to be my look out for tonight, can you do that for me?"
"Sounds boring," Caroline replied, scrunching up her nose.
"I've got a surprise for you if you do it for me,"
Caroline's eyes lit up at that.
"What kinda surprise?"
"You'll have to wait and see, won't you? You'll get it as soon as I'm done. Promise,"
"Okay Kitty Kat, you got it!" Caroline squeaked lifting her gloved hand in salute.
Katherine breathed a sigh of relief when she skipped out into the hallway quietly singing Britney Spears' ‘Oops I Did it Again’ under her breath.
She had to be quick since Caroline's presence was threatening to blow her cover. She knew it wasn't exactly fair to manipulate her like that, but she'd figure out a way to make it up to her some other time.
Now, for that ruby.
Upon cracking open the safe, Katherine reached into it with her gloved hand and picked up the stone. Even in the dim moonlight shining through the crack in the door, the stone sparkled in her hands. After admiring it for a moment she slipped it into a pouch attached to her belt.
She closed the vault re-entering the code to seal it shut. After closing the security door she was about to go out back out the way she came almost forgetting all about Caroline. She was just planning what to do with the rest of her night when...
"Aaaaargh! Bloody Hell!"
"Kaaaaatheeeriine, don't worry about giving me that surprise tonight, I already found one of my own," Came Caroline's ecstatic voice from the foyer.
Katherine contemplated just leaving like she'd planned but something inside her told her to go out, and investigate what the hell what was going on.
Katherine rounded the corner to see Caroline with her hammer poised over her head and one of her heels pressed tightly against the neck of one Kol Mikaelson.
"Look, Katherine, it's the Boy Blunder!"
The man in question sprawled rather helplessly on the floor turned his head - with some difficulty - and grinned at Katherine.
"Hello Katty,"
"Well, well, what do we have here?"
"I caught him before he even knew what hit him," Caroline beamed proudly.
"Literally," Kol grumbled.
"What do you want Kol?"
"That Ruby you've got one you for one, second I'd really love if you'd call off your guard dog here,"
There was a sharp cracking noise, as Caroline lifted her shoe from Kol's neck and slammed her hammer down onto Kol's ribcage instead.
"GARAAGHHH, give me a break you crazy bitch,"
"Careful," Caroline giggled manically " I know a certain someone who wouldn't appreciate you calling me that,"
Kol's face paled at the mention of his wayward brother but he managed to stumble to his feet clutching his ribcage and hobbling slightly. Katherine almost felt sorry for him, maybe she should bring Caroline along with her more often.
Then a realisation dawned on her.
"Where is he?"
"Who?" Kol asked now propped up against the nearby wall struggling to catch his breath.
"You know who," Katherine snapped. "The city's saviour," She sneered mockingly. "The Dark Knight. If you're here then he's not far behind somewhere,"
Kol opened his mouth to answer her, but he closed it again almost immediately, smirking at something over her shoulder.
Katherine didn't need to turn around to figure out what it was.
"Good evening Katerina,"
Katherine slowly turned taking in the sight of the tall broad shouldered figure dressed only in black.
"Thank you for having the good sense to look afraid,"
Katherine tilted her head and furrowed her brows.
"I'm not afraid, I just don't like you,"
"Well this ought to be good," Kol murmured in amusement.
"Hello Elijah," said Katherine.
"I'm afraid I'm going to have to relieve you of that item on your person,”
"Is that right?"
"Oh I'm afraid so, you see what you have in your possession doesn't appear to belong to you,"
"Well you know me, Elijah, I'm not a big fan of playing by the rules,"
"The ruby Katherine, I won't ask you again,"
Katherine made a face pretending to be contemplating, then gave him her best smile.
"If you want this from me, you can come over her and take it from me,"
Elijah gave a deep long-suffering sigh, as if Katherine’s defiance posed a horrible inconvenience for him.
"In that case, I’m afraid you leave me no choice,"
The only warning Katherine or anyone received, before experiencing what happened next, was the small flickering sound of a lighter behind her. That's when she remembered the plucky blonde in the room.
All at once there was a loud explosion; the smell of sulphur and a large purple/grey mist surrounding the area. Not missing a beat Katherine raced as quickly as her impressive legs would carry her out of the room leaving Kol and Elijah literally in her dust.
"Asta la vista boys!" Caroline yelled through the din on Katherine's heels trying to catch up.
By the time the smoke cleared both women were long gone. As Katherine escaped into the night she could hear the police sirens in the distance.
Suckers.
She'd have to remember to get Caroline a thank you gift for that little stunt.
As Elijah resigned himself into his favourite chair, in the Batcave, by the fireplace he took a sip of bourbon and let his head fall back against the chair.
"I think I'm getting too old for this,"
"Cheer up Elijah," Kol said clutching an ice pack to his side and his head with each hand. "We weren't to know Kitty-nine-lives was planning on teaming up with Klaus' nutcase bed buddy, personally, I think we should be glad it wasn't the other one with the red hair, ooh she was a right nutter,"
"Foiled again by the incomparable Katherine Pierce," Elijah muttered shaking his head bitterly.
Kol scoffed loudly.
"Are you really going to sit there and pretend you two aren't going to be cosied up in each other's arms this time next week, pretending none of this ever happened?"
When Elijah kept his face perfectly neutral Kol continued.
"Honestly, Elijah you must take me for a right idiot,"
"Well if your performance this evening is anything to go by-"
"You weren't there, she had a bloody hammer!"
"Yes I'm quite glad I wasn't, I imagine it was rather embarrassing to watch.”
Elijah stretched and rose from the chair
“I'm retiring to my room, Good night brother,"
"Sleep well Elijah, try not to think too hard about Kitty Claws in that lovely catsuit of hers,"
Elijah shot Kol one last dirty look then left the room.
"Booking for Katerina Petrova please,"
The blonde, slightly overweight woman behind the desk looked up from her crime novel to see a slim brunette woman on the other side of the desk. She wore tall stilettos, a black trench coat, a red bag and a matching red big brim hat, her green eyes hidden behind a large pair of shades. She looked like the type of suburban housewife that went out of town to have an extramarital affair with their next door neighbour. They got a lot of those types around there.
She looked up and checked his screen.
"Certainly Ms Petrova, you have yourself have a lovely stay,"
She watched the woman stroll idly toward the elevator wondering what kind of man awaited her in her room. Working the front desk wasn't the most interesting job, but observing some of the guests that came here was the highlight of the receptionist’s day.
The elevator stopped at floor 5.
Slowly Katherine walked toward the suite door and swiped the room card.
Her lover stood in the room waiting for her, clad in one of his trademark suits holding a bottle of champagne.
It was all so cliche and yet she couldn't wait to tear him out of that suit.
"Katerina," He said glancing up momentarily from pouring the drinks.
"'Lijah," She purred, then strode forward with a sudden sense of urgency, nearly knocking the bottle of out of his hand as her arms wrapped around his neck, stealing a passionate kiss from him that he enthusiastically reciprocated.
"I missed you," She said breathlessly, momentarily breaking the kiss.
Elijah leisurely began placing kisses down the creamy column of Katherine's neck.
"I'm surprised you had time to miss me, What with how busy you've been,"
Katherine rolled her eyes.
"'Lijah," She whined. " You know the rules, no talking about work,"
He chuckled. "Work? You're a glorified cat-burglar, my dear," He teased.
"And you're a billionaire, vigilante who likes to play dress up in the middle of the night with his younger brother," She shot back.
"Touche,"
"But not in here, were not those people in here,"
"Let's not fool ourselves, darling, of course, we are. Our secret identities are a part of us whether we like it or not,"
"Elijah you're ruining the moment,"
"Do you ever wish things could be different?" He asked, looking into her eyes longingly.
"Maybe in a difference place, in a different lifetime, but for now it's like you said; I am who I am and so are you. I haven't figured out a way to stop loving you yet, so until one of us does, it looks like we're pretty much stuck in this weird purgatory for the rest of our lives,"
"Would it be awfully sentimental of me to say that there's no place I'd rather be?"
"Yes," She whispered closing the gap between them again and pushing their bodies backwards onto the bed. “It would,”
When Katherine Pierce got up the next morning, she was alone.
She felt the ghost of someone's hand on her naked shoulders that morning, kisses on her neck and shoulder blades. She’d kept her eyes shut and pretended to be asleep. She didn't want to watch him leave.
It was always better that way.
