💥~ If you forget to bring a jacket and you’re in public with him he’ll give you his if he has one, not without throwing a meaningless insult or two at you though.

💥~ “If you’re so cold all the time then how do you forget a jacket dumbass? Here.” And he’ll either throw it at you or drape it over your shoulders like the tsundere he is. He acts like it bothers him but you know it doesn’t. He really does try to keep you warm.

💥~ If you want to cuddle he probably won’t even respond at first. He’ll just motion for you to come to him or mutter something under his breath and you’ll laugh before wrapping yourself in his hold.

💥~ He’ll cook warm or hot foods for you some nights, and even make you hot tea if you want him to. He hates how his quirk throws off his normal body temperature so he understands that yours would do the same. He would hate being cold all the time.

💥~ One time when you were hanging out with him in his dorm he surprised you with a heating pad and a blanket. You teased him for being so cute and he only scoffed at you and threatened to return them. You knew he wouldn’t though, and it’s yours to keep!

💥~ He goes to bed a little early so if you’re okay with that then eventually he’ll let you sleep with him. He will not put up with a blanket hog though. You’re not about to sleep in his bed and then deprive him of warmth just because you’re cold.

💥~ He doesn’t really care if you wanna wear his sweatpants, hoodies, etc. However, he does care if you attempt to steal them from him..

💥~ “What the hell?! That hoodie’s been missing for the past two weeks and you’ve had it this entire time?!”

💥~ “Kat I’m cold-“

💥~ “I don’t care if you’re cold! Gimme my damn stuff back!”

💥~ He does care though, very much so. It’s really cute when he tries to brush it off though.

Shouto Todoroki❄️🔥

❄️~ You practically cling to his left side whenever you’re with him.

🔥~ He thinks it’s cute, you almost never hold his right hand or cuddle on his right. It’s always his left, not that he minds though. Whatever you’re most comfortable with he’s comfortable with.

❄️~ He understands how a quirk can affect body temperature almost better than anyone. Though his quirks are pretty much balanced, he still has days where he’s more hot than cold or vice versa.

🔥~ He’ll encourage you to wear his turtlenecks or sweaters. The fact that you look adorable in them is a bonus to helping you warm up.

❄️~ It takes a little while for him to warm up to cuddling because of his childhood. He was touch starved almost his entire life but once he gets used to it he enjoys holding you or being held by you.

🔥~ He doesn’t really mind if you end up stealing his clothes. As long as you’re warm and safe he could care less if a few of his sweaters go missing. He’ll just buy more.

❄️~ Speaking of buying more, he definitely buys you hoodies, sweaters, blankets, anything you want. Literally, anything you want he’ll get it for you. He definitely buys you blankets and warm clothes. Good quality stuff too, nothing cheap. *cough* using his Dad’s credit card. *cough*

🔥~ He hates the fact that your quirk makes you cold all the time. Of course you’re really strong and your quirk is beautiful as well as powerful, but he still has a little hate for its effects.

❄️~ The two of you like to train your quirks together. Your power is similar if not the same as his ice so it’s fun to spar.

🔥~ He’s down for sleepovers or naps, whatever you’re more comfortable with. Sometimes he’ll even initiate it!! He loves being in your company.

Eijirou Kirishima🥊

🥊~ He’s so bummed your quirk makes you cold all the time! It must suck if you hate being cold.

🥊~ He keeps a jacket with him at all times for you! If you don’t have one or need one he’ll give it to you to wear for however long you want!

🥊~ If you want to keep it? Sure, okay! He’ll just buy another one or even get you a couple. He wants to make sure you’re never cold or uncomfortable!

🥊~ You wanna cuddle? Of course!!! He loves cuddling with you. If he can help you warm up at any point then please let him! He thinks you’re adorable all bundled up in blankets.

🥊~ He buys those little pocket warmers for you and whenever you want more he gives them to you. It’s almost like he has a never ending stash of them. *cough* he does-

🥊~ The KING of hot cocoa, this man makes some DELICIOUS hot drinks. You can’t convince me otherwise.

🥊~ If you leave your jacket behind and go out with him he’ll give you his!! And if it’s winter he’ll give you his scarf too! Please he’s such a sweetie he’ll freeze to death if it meant you’d be warm-

🥊~ Heated blankets? A must. He has three in his room for you in case you want to cuddle in his room or spend the night.

Why TROS (The Rise of Skywalker) is better than Endgame (AKA absolute trash)

SPOILER WARNING!!! SCROLL IF YOU HAVENT SEEN TROS

Ok so apparently there’s actually a debate about which is better. First of all. I acknowledge that TROS may not be the best Star Wars movie to ever come out but compared to the trash that endgame/Infinity War are it was 10000x better.

TROS did a pretty good job with character development. Even though I’m not happy that Ben died, he had a purpose. There was no other choice in that situation but to do what he did and his death was more bittersweet than acutely painful. They did a great job redeeming him and the moment he talked to Han Solo made me so emotional. 8.5/10. the ending was satisfying and it left room for fans to make their own headcannons about the future.

Meanwhile...

Endgame and IW:

Carol?: reduced to a deus ex machina

Thor?: a fat joke; has no purpose for even being there anymore since anyone can use his hammer now

Steve?: threw away his entire new life to go back to the past with Peggy

Tony?: dead when it should've been nebula who killed thanos and his abusive dad got redemption

Natasha?: JUST found a family and redemption and happiness but she sacrificed herself for no reason

Wanda: had her trauma erased and basically made to not be taken seriously by the audience when thanos said he didn't even know who she is. And that’s exactly what happened.

Loki?: died for ABSOLUTELY no reason other than drama; undid his redemption arc

Gamora?: proved the trope that in the end you won't escape your abuser

Black panther/ wakanda?: reduced to ash in .5 seconds after they were supposed to be this great advanced nation

Banner?: basically useless bc he can't bring out the hulk. This couldve been their moment to truly show what BANNER can do but no. Apparently he's nothing without the hulk

And that’s just some of the characters they fucked up

1) The movie perpetuated a lot of misogynistic stereotypes (can’t expect anything better from the Russo’s), reducing most of the female characters to emotional wrecks (Wanda, nat), deus ex machinas that are shelved for most of the movie (carol) sacrificial lambs (gamora, nat), and plot devices for male characters (Peggy). And they think adding one “token feminist scene” is going to cover up their horrid treatment of the women in the rest of the movie

2) It supported basically most of the abusers in the MCU. Showing Gamora being sacrificed supported the trope that you can never escape your abuser. Loki being violently murdered for no reason showed that you can only find redemption in death (even though he was already redeemed). And tony easily forgiving Howard supports the idea that no matter how bad they are, you should forgive your abuser because they’re family.

3) Thor was ridiculed throughout the movie, undoing everything Ragnarok did for his character development. It’s like that movie never even existed at this point. Instead of showing him healing from his trauma, his weight, mental health, and destructive coping mechanisms were made fun of by all the characters. Would tony stark ever actually mock Thor for alcoholism when he struggled with the same thing? Would Valkyrie seriously just leave him alone to drink and forget his pain when she went through the same thing?

4) Another thing is Mjolnir. I get that steve was able to lift mjolnir in the comics. However what exactly makes him worthy in the MCU? We know that Hela and Odin were able to use mjolnir and there’s a pattern there. People who are blood related to Thor are worthy of wielding mjolnir. That’s why loki was never able to lift it. So why is steve Rogers, a human, able to use it. And with lighting powers on top of that. After the way Thor was treated in the movie (basically being useless until the fight at the end) what is the purpose in him even being there if now even humans are able to summon lighting like he can?? Lightning is something only Thor can do. Not even Odin can do it. It doesn’t make sense with the logic they’ve established in the MCU.

5) Going back to loki. Ragnarok already finished his redemption arc. He was ready to go to earth with thor and the rest of the asgardians. He was finally being treated as an equal yet the Russo brothers decided to kill him pointlessly and violently before even the title credits. That’s just disrespectful they reduced him to a plot device for drama, to make thanos seem dangerous. Now, Looking at the scene. Thanos was literally ready to let him go. He did not need to die. Loki had to have known that attempt to kill him wouldn’t have worked after being tortured by thanos for so long. He can’t be killed by a dagger. Loki isn’t that dumb. And he’s not that selfless. He wouldn’t sacrifice himself for no reason especially when he could’ve walked away unscathed. His death scenes was one of the most unnecessary, gruesome, graphic deaths I’ve ever seen from marvel. It made me feel sick. The sound of his bone snapping seeing the blood running down his eyes was it. They could’ve done so much with this character but they chose to do this instead. Hopefully the Disney + show fixes his character arc.

Overall, my expectations were low for both movies. But endgame was the biggest disappointment to the marvel franchise I’ve ever seen. TROS was truthfully very satisfying and did everything endgame wishes it did.

Beautiful Creatures Section One

Before: The Middle of Nowhere - 9.15 A Fork in the Road

1. What are your thoughts going into this novel? Do you have low, moderate, or high expectations? Sooo I honestly know exactly nothing about this book except that it's YA so I honestly don't really have any expectations??? But when I was looking for gifs, the movie cast looks absolutely fantastic so I'll probably be watching that after I finish the book and, uh, my expectations for that are through the roof. (The movie has Emma Thompson and she is an actual treasure so the movie is probably nothing short of magical, hahaha.) But as for the book, I guess my expectations would be moderate? YA isn't exactly my favorite genre. There are definitely books and series in YA that I really love but for the most part, I don't love it as a whole. So I guess my expectations for this book aren't exactly high but it seems interesting enough. I'm excited to get started though!

2. What 3 strikes does Savannah give the new girl? She doesn't like what she's wearing, the girl is too pale and she's Old Man Ravenwood's neice. Old Man Ravenwood is the resident Boo Radley and he's such a shut in that no one has seen him in, like, twenty years. And now the new girl has moved in with him??? Which basically creeps everyone out. Plus she's, uh, driving his hearse, haha.

3. When Ethan is in ceramics, what does he hear from the music room that brings him back to his dream? He hears the song he'd found on his ipod: Sixteen Moons. But the words were a little bit different. So he's listening, staring at the clay he's supposed to be molding when he slips back into the dream. His teacher touches his shoulder, bringing him back and there's a hand print in the clay. But it's too small to be his. So he goes to check in the music room to make sure he really heard what he thought he heard and confirms that Lena has joined the band playing the viola.

4. What happens in Mrs. English’s classroom in 9.12 Broken Glass? The popular girls are taunting Lena. They're stage whispering terrible things about Lena and her uncle just loud enough for Lena to hear but not loud enough for the teacher to hear. And then Ethan starts hearing a voice in his head that's, like, ~answering them. Then Lena gets up to sharpen her pencil and finally gets fed up with what they're saying and the voice in Ethan's head screams ENOUGH! and then all the windows in the classroom shatter, shooting the glass inside at the students. Everyone screams and dives out of their chairs but Ethan looks to see if Lena is alright. She has a shard of glass in her hand and looks terrified and runs out of the room before Ethan can get to her.

5. What happens when Ethan leans back and grabs the black and white cameo of the woman’s face? Both Ethan and Lena have this vision thing? They both see part of the Civil War and a girl, Genevieve, running to save Greenbrier. The soldiers are burning all of the plantations but she can't let them burn her home. But she can smell lemon trees burning which means they've probably already started burning Greenbrier. Her mother loved lemon trees so her husband bought some for her and she planted them and actually got them to flourish, even though the climate was wrong. When Ethan and Lena come back from the vision, he says that they must be on Greenbrier property, not Ravenwood since there are lemon trees there. And the vision was so real, he could still feel smoke in his lungs from the fire.

6. What does Amma tell Ethan to do with the locket, but where does he instead go? What does Ethan learn from this visit? She puts it in a little pouch and tells him to take it back where he found it and bury it. And he can tell she knows something about it but she won't tell him. So he goes out and wanders around for a while so she'll think he did what she said but really he kept the locket. The next day he goes to take care of his three great aunts and he takes the locket with him and asks them about it. They tell him the year in the date was the year the soldiers burned half of Gaitlin, which Ethan already knew from the vision. And they say the ECW initials stand for Ethan Carter Wate, Ethan's great great great great uncle (or some number of greats). But Ethan says he's never heard of Ethan Carter Wate. And they're like you're named for him??? He's named Ethan Lawson Wate after his uncles Ethan and Lawson. But Ethan reasons that Ethan Carter Wate isn't on his family tree so one of the aunts goes to get her copy of the family tree which has Ethan Carter Wate on it. She says it's not surprising that he's not on the tree at Wate's Landing since Ethan Carter Wate was a deserter.

7. What does Ethan notice is different about Ravenwood on his second visit? The inside of the house is completely different. When he went in the first time, the inside didn't match the outside. It was very modern and looked so new, he half expected the delivery truck to still be outside. But when he goes in the second time, the interior is completely different. Now it looks like the inside of a Southern plantation. It's really grand, with a large staircase and ballroom and basically looks exactly how he expected the inside of Ravenwood to look???

8. What does Lena come back to tell Ethan about her and her family? She explains that her family are Casters. She doesn't like the word witches because she says that's a stereotype. But she says Casters is the closest explanation she can give. She says that it's hard to describe her whole family with just one world. But they're all gifted and have powers/can perform magic.

Section One Reading Journal

Okay wow. So I really, really knew nothing about this book going into it. First off, I thought Lena was going to be the narrator so I spent the entire time thinking it was here until someone said Ethan and I was like “wait hold up” and had to go back and reread a bit to reset, hahaha.

I kind of love that Ethan is the narrator though? It’s just kind of not what I was expecting at all since YA is very typically written from the girl’s perspective. And while some part of me does wish that this was from Lena’s POV so we could get more ~background, I do really like Ethan as a character and I think he makes a pretty solid narrator.

I also had no idea what the supernatural element was going to be and, honestly, this feels like a 10000x better version of Twilight (especially with the opening and the new girl and weird things happening in class and the stupid mean jocks; I was going “why does this feel so familiar????” Oh right. Because all YA is very similar. Got it). Anyway, so when the dog/wolf showed up, I was like DON’T TELL ME THEY’RE ALL WEREWOLVES. So I’m honestly glad they turned out to be ~witches instead, haha.

Oh and I reaaaaally love all of the literary references in this book!!! (Especially the ones we read with book club, haha. Though I think On the Road and Catcher in the Rye are on an old list that we didn’t actually finish? So they are all kind of book club books? Just to be read ones, haha.) So that’s been a really fun time. Especially all of the To Kill a Mockingbird/Boo Radley references. I’m absolutely loving that!

So I’m actually enjoying this book quite a lot. And my house is quiet today and I don’t have anything to do so I’m going to try to knock out as much of it as a can. It’s honestly such a quick and fun read that I’m happy I have some time to just breeze right through this book. Especially since I’m enjoying it so much!! *flies off to read the next section* XDDD
