Backstory
Evelina was born to Odin and Frigga the goddess of fire and the hearth, a position she is justly proud of every day of her life. When she was young, like her older brothers, was promised the throne but as she grew older the less appealing it became. Eve is a free spirit, chasing her own bliss and destiny every step of the way. The mantle of queen is limiting in certain respects and that is not something Eve is interested in.
Instead of obsessing over whether she’s going to rule someday, Eve spends her time telling animated stories to Asgard’s children and training to be a formidible warrior. She is not as powerful on the battlefield as Sif but she is not far behind. Her weapon of choice is a gorgeous sword that she often enchants with her fire in a similar manner to Thor. It is always contained and easy to control though.
When Loki betrays the family, after learning of his real heritage, Eve refuses to abandon hope for him. He’s her older brother, her best friend since she was small, how could she?
It’s during the approach of Ragnarök that things really get difficult. Eve too gets sent to Sakaar, landing alone in the wastes as well. She becomes a fighter, lined up for the smaller opening fights. She sees Loki in The Grandmaster’s box and finally has enough. Excuse after excuse she’s made for her brother and now he can’t even be bothered to help her escape?
She snaps, coming further into her powers than she ever has before, the fire within her, finally allowed to escape. It’s rather freeing for her actually.
Eventually Thor arrives and Ragnarök plays out the only way it can. Asgard escapes its fate momentarily before Thanos rears his ugly head. He kills half her people in front of her, kills her brother and leaves, having the audacity to claim they should be grateful.
The Mad Titan also unfortunately wins, sending her and Thor into a deeper despair than they were before. Eve is spared the snap as well and works for those five years to do everything she can to feel as though she’s earned it. She helps her brother’s friends in any way she can, choosing to work herself to bone rather than wallow in the twisted, cold, swirling pile of emotions in her gut.
Eventually, thanks to Scott Lang, a plan is formed. Time travel! Eve is embarrassed to find that the first thought that crosses her mind when that idea is posited, is to go back to Sakaar and grab her brother and bring him back.
A variant of hers actually does this leading to a whole batch of adventures in the TVA and the end of time itself, but that’s a story for a different day.
Her life is supposed to continue past that, to saving the world from Thanos’ deeds and beyond on the sacred timeline. But rebels are always more fun aren’t they?

Father's Day Special
Pairing: Y/N x Avengers Dads
Request: No, but anyone is welcomed to request anything off of this
Summary: In honor of father's day I turned my favorite MCU men who are not father's into them.
Tumblr media
Loki Laufeyson
Tumblr media
Perseus Luka Lokison: 8 years old (oldest twin - 1st born)
La'Luna Frigga Lokidottir: 8 years old (youngest twin - 2nd born)
Arista Nyx Lokidottir: 6 years okd (3rd Born)
Freyja Fae Lokidottir: 3 years old (4th born)
Ceres Vulcan Lokison: 1 month old (5th born)
This magical family is considered "The House of L", Perseus and Luna were both very happily planned out and started out the most perfect journey of a lifetime. Perseus takes after his father in so many ways. They look identical to each other and they share the same type of magic. Sometimes, it’s hard for them to get along but regardless they love each other. Most of the time they bond over books, stories of Loki’s childhood, and Loki teaching him magic. Luna doesn’t lack in magic, but comes the best when she is a frost giant. She can easily switch between her normal pale skin to being a blue ice magic user. Her and her father bond over this quite a lot due to how beautiful he believes she is while like that. Though he won’t admit it to any of them, Luna’s ability to use her magic and look the way he is scared makes him envious and proud. She leans on him for so many things, especially when she’s scared or needs help turning back from being a frost giant/ Then there’s Arista, the mommy’s girl who gets along best with Perseus. She uses her connection to the underworld to conjure up demons, monsters, and spirits of all kinds. She can also use her magic to kill easily, if anyone tries to inflict pain on her she can channel the injury into them. Arista’s body turns halfway into a deadly looking demon with a skull face. The first time this happens it scares Perseus to death, he panics both you and Loki and will not let go of Loki’s hand nor leave his side. When you go check on Arista she is writing out her alphabet just like she was supposed to. She just looks different, and she doesn’t act any different. So, you explain that to Loki and you both take the time to explain to the twins that it’s just something that happens. Like how Luna and Loki turn blue. After that you and Loki agree that’s enough kids, until of course Mobius agrees to watch your 3 kids and things get out of hand between the two of you. This is where the biggest daddies girl of all, Freyja, comes from. She uses basic magic to move things around the room, she can take things from books and put them into real life, and she can phase from one room to another. Anytime she talks it’s to her father, and if it’s not directed at him it’s about him. She is always attached at his hip and will constantly do little things to mess with Loki. Then last but not least is Ceres, dark hair, light eyes, and unlike the rest never quits crying. This is unless you, his mother, walk him around. If you stop or put him down he continues to cry. He is also the only baby to be born a frost giant, which almost killed you due to your body temperature dropping. Overall you are a big happy family, dysfunctional, magical, odd, but happy. You all reside on Midguard in a big beautiful home, and Loki stays working for the TVA.
Thor Odinson
Tumblr media
Fleur Olympia Thordottir: 8 years old (1st born)
Natalia Calypso Thordottir: 4 years old (2nd born)
Romulus Elio Odin Thorson: 2 years old (3rd born)
Running with the guardians is not the easiest life to live. There is always bartering, making deals, killing all sorts of creatures, and catching wrong do-ers. But of course you had to take a break when you fell pregnant with a blonde hair, blue eyed little girl who speaks and acts like you. She is incredibly strong, fast, and talented for someone her age. Fleur, once the peak age of 8, helps out fixing things at home and on the ship constantly. She also learns how to shoot a bow and arrow amongst other weapons very early on (she just got attached to that one the most). Then Thor had to take another break to help you take care of Natalia. Another blue eyed, blonde haired baby who acted identically to her father. Though little she can conjure Mjölnir, the first time she did this was on the ship. Quill and Thor decided to show her some of the galaxy when all of a sudden she reached out and the hammer went directly into her hands. All the guardians were in pure shock, so was Thor. But that shock was short lived when she decided to start slamming the hammer into the table in front of her. Though you and Thor were incredibly proud and happy with your daughters, you could tell that there was something in Thor that wanted a son. So without bringing this idea up to him you told him you wanted one more child. You begged to Odin for it to be a boy, and sure enough you ended up with a little boy. This time he looked a lot like you with the blue eyes and blonde hair. He was an incredibly peaceful baby and did nothing but sleep, which concerned the two of you since the girls were loud babies. The older he got the more he acted like Thor, at the ripe age of two he was able to change the weather outside based on his mood. When he was happy it was beautiful, when he would stir there was some snow or hail, but when he was upset a storm flew over the home and lightening would strike everywhere. Thor continues to go with the Guardians and get rewards from those whom they help.
James Barnes
Tumblr media
Rebecca Winifred Barnes: 8 years old (1st born)
Grant Howard Barnes: 4 years old (oldest twin - 2nd born)
Anthony Thomas Barnes: 4 years old (youngest twin - 3rd born)
Stephanie Diana Barnes: 8 months old (4th born)
This family did not have a fair start when it comes to beginnings. You were a captive of Hyrdra, due to the fact that on your birth records you just didn't exist. You were listed as a stillborn baby. No one knew you were alive. The only reason you were alive was because of the traces of infinity stones injected into your bones as a baby. So, you were easy to experiment on and use. Therefore you were the head pawn for the project "SOLDAT, WINTER'S CHILDREN". This captivity and abuse was where Rebecca was born, in the winter without any heat. Of course you had to take care of her yourself because Bucky was in absolutely no shape to do so. You kept her and her abilities that you knew she had subdued. You couldn't let them take her away from you. Then you were subjected to more, which is where Grant and Anthony came from. Grant was lucky to survive, being born mostly deaf, much smaller, and sick. Though Bucky was not Bucky and was in no shape to be helpful he would bring you things and try to help you in anyway he could that was not overly empathetic. Then eventually they tried to subject you to the electroshock that they had put Bucky under due to his escape and with your magic you destroyed the building and took your children with you. Rebecca developed abilities in the realm of sound manipulation. She could destroy things, create force fields, and control what people did, thought, and said just with her voice. Anthony could create small forcefields, move things with these small bubbles of energy, and slow down or speed up objects with the energy. Grant wasn't deaf after all, he had super-hearing. He could hear anything and everything from miles away, so you developed him special hearing-aids that could turn up or turn down sound to help him be able to rest and settle down. Grant could also move inhumanly fast and could be inhumanly strong. You raised the three of them for the longest time, until a short haired man and an avenger showed up on your porch. After a lot of talking, meeting, going on dates, meeting the kids, and becoming a solid part of all of your lives, you decide to give Bucky what he seemed to want. A second chance, and he never got a chance to raised any of his other three kids from birth. Which is where little Steph came from, she was a perfect baby. You were jealous at how lucky he got it. She slept carefully, loved to snuggle, ate and burped easy, and never fussed or cried. Grant was incredibly close to James, when he's scared or in public he clings to him. He loves his metal are and never lets go. Anthony is more attached to you, he is always by your side and rarely ever picks James over you. Rebecca loves James and you about evenly. She splits her time and need for different things equally, though she is a bit more attached to you. Stephanie is daddies girl forever, anytime she sees him and he leaves the room she acts out and kicks and reaches until he comes to get her. Her favorite place to sleep is on him and when she's playing shy she prefers do it on him. James continues to work with Sam and eventually S.W.O.R.D, he also goes on to help others get pardoned and help those who were pardoned lead different lives and be better people.
Steve Rogers
Tumblr media
Sarah Natasha Rogers: 4 years old (1st born)
Carter James Rogers: newly born (2nd born)
The blip, possibly the worst thing to happen to the world since wars and plagues. As terrible as it all sounds, the world is finally quiet and settled down. You watched and tried to help and Steve struggled with the loss of his teammates and friends. He tried to think of every single way around believing what happened really happened. But eventually, with some convincing you were able to get through to him. He moved out of his little apartment, and took his things from the compound and moved with you out of the city into the more rural area. After settling in for a while you decided to get married, right after that you decided to start a family. Which is where little Sarah came from, she was in your spitting image but with her fathers eyes. She was gorgeous and continued to be gorgeous as she grew up. She had incredible bouts of energy, and constantly wanted to play games, run around outside, do puzzles, draw, paint, and hear stories. She rarely slept and was even born with her eyes open, she never shut them until her body forced her to sleep. Steve enjoyed having a little ball of energy that was so well attached to him. She was always climbing on him, holding his hands, sitting on his lap, and taking naps on him. Sarah helped him overcome the sadness and failure he felt after the war. Then after about 4 years of having Sarah, you fell pregnant with a little boy. Carter, he was Steve's twin and looks and in his attitude. This baby was already stubborn and noisy at random times. He never gave up the screaming or laying how he felt it comfortable (even though it was not safe). Steve continued to council people and help out Nat when she needed it, until Scott showed up on the security cameras.
Doctor Stephen Strange
Tumblr media
Antoinette Eugenia Strange: 7 years old (1st born)
Beverly Leda Strange 4 years old (2nd born)
Time is a very valuable thing, and no one knows that better than Stephen Strange. A careful calculated man with a lot of responsibility at his hands at all times. He always saw what was coming and nothing unexpected ever happened. That was until he came to bed one night to you sitting up waiting for him instead of being curled up asleep. Not 9 months later you had Antoinette, a dark haired, dark eyed little girl who was so quiet you forgot that you had her. You had never met a little girl quite like her. She never spoke unless it was something that needed to happen. She cleaned up after herself without being asked at a young age, and never had anything but a neutral-happy look on her face. Unless her father got it out of her, he could make her laugh and smile like children should. The two of them had talks about books, time, and ancient history all the time. For someone so young she was incredibly intelligent. Then later on you had Beverly, though she looked like her older sister she acted completely different. She loved to play with toys and be loud. Hell, she liked to be loud in general, she preferred to be the center of attention. Beverly loved to build things and use technology, it's what she understood. Her and her father got along over science and scientific research. Whenever one daughter was closer to the Stephen the other was closer to you. The two of them did not get along, at least not to you and Stephen's knowledge. That was until one night he went to check on Antoinette and she was missing from her bed. So, he peaked in on Beverly and the two of them had made a fort to fall asleep in. They played together and did different activities together in the same gentle space. Stephen continues to keep track of time and help different people while supporting his family.
Mobius
Tumblr media
Andrina Mertle Mobius: 11 years old (1st born)
Atlas Milo Mobius 9 years old (2nd born)
Adella Maria Mobius: 3 years old (3rd born)
Imagine living where time was more confusing than somehow anywhere else. That is the life of Mobius and Y/N, you are not an agent, but rather someone he had gotten close to during a very long variant search. The TVA being there caused your presence to become 'variant', so you were taken in for questioning. When you weren't found guilty of anything Mobius opted to take you in, and that was the start of everything. When you first found out you were pregnant you weren't entirely sure what to do. Especially considering how odd Null-Time worked. You of course were the only one worried about this, up until Andrina was born. She was beautiful, but incredibly sassy from the moment you met her. She refused to sleep, eat when you wanted her to, sleep, or allow you to swaddle her and change her clothes. That sassy and stubborn attitude never ever left her, and that certainly did not make her any nicer to her little brother Atlas. He was a comedian, a bullheaded, sarcastic, and wild little comedian. Atlas consistently picked on everyone in the home including his big sister who did not like putting up with his shit. Mobius constantly has to break up fights between the two of them. This usually ends up with Andrina sitting next to him and or doing something with him, and Atlas doing something with you. This is until the numbers in the house become uneven with Adella. The princess of the house who only behaves well in front of Mobius, not even you. In front of you and the other two children she is loud and destructive. But the moment she sees her father that all changes, and all she wants is to be in his arms. Of course Andrina is able to also pull that card, which gets Mobius both his daughters snuggling with him and constantly behaving in front of him which is good enough to him. At the end of the day full house sleepovers in your shared bed are quite normal. So is talking bad about all of your kids just to end up talking about funny things they've done or how much you love them. Mobius continues to work for the TVA and you and your family live in Null-Time near the TVA Headquarters.
Peter Parker
Tumblr media
Mae Mary Parker: 4 years old (1st born)
Benjamin Richard Parker: 2 years old (2nd born)
Having kids young was never something Peter Parker saw himself doing. But, seeing everything now he wouldn't change this for the world. Though he himself was a big kid, it made him an even better and energetic dad. Mae was born in the freezing cold snow, and Peter kept her wrapped in her blanket and put her inside his suit, like how a kangaroo carries it's baby. That was the start of an amazing bond, the two of them were attached at the hip and equally attached to you. They hung upside down together, played video games, played board games, built legos, read comics, watched Peter's home movies that he made on missions, and she watched him do all sorts of science stuff. On movie nights, regular nights, or anytime the three of you sat together to do something you had her in your lap and Peter had you on him. He would always try to braid and fix her hair and she would put bows in his, and then together they would try and fix yours. Then you had Benjamin, Peters identical twin. He looked just like him and was attached to you the way that Mae was attached to Peter. The only difference was Benjamin was very shy toward Peter. Peter tried to get Benjamin to be close to him but it was really hard, him and Mae got along, and Benjamin loved you which left Peter out. Until one day he went on a mission and came back to hear his son yelling "daddy" wanting him. Peter continues to work as an Avenger and works hard with science and technology to better reform the world.

hey i want to request something with Loki using the prompt "not wanting to lose each other in a big crowd", perhaps it could be set in the new Loki episode? sorry if its not good enough :(
this is exactly the sort of thing i wanted! thank you so much for sending this in anon!
Tumblr media
WARNINGS: LOKI EPISODE THREE SPOILERS! Don't read on if you haven't watched it! Also, sorry for my inability to write fight scenes.
SUMMARY: Loki makes sure Y/n doesn't get lost, or dragged away by Sylvie...
WORD COUNT: 560. Me, write something over 200 words?? Unheard of
This is also for the people who want a bit of Sylvie x reader as well lol. there’s just a bit.
I am currently taking drabble/blurb requests. Learn more here.
Loki Odinson (Laufeyson) x gn! reader
Tumblr media
It had been a long... well, Y/n wasn’t sure. Time worked differently in the TVA and time also worked differently on a place called Lamentis.
Honestly, they weren’t even really supposed to be on Midgard when Loki escaped. Heimdall had let them go down to the place nicknamed ‘Earth’ to see Loki before he was brought back to be punished. They’d arrived and met the Avengers. A new group of mortal heroes who Y/n had to admit, looked cool.
But Loki had grabbed the Tesseract and they’d gone to take it from him, forcing them both into the hands of the TVA. The TVA wasn’t a bad place to be once Mobius had saved Y/n’s and Loki’s asses.
Loki didn’t mean to bring Y/n with him when he first escaped, but he did the second time, grabbing their hand and forcing them through a time portal, after what Y/n had now nicknamed ‘Blonde Loki’.
Blonde Loki - Sylvie - seemed alright after Y/n had narrowly missed being brutally killed by her several times in her fight with Asgardian prince Loki. Both had seemed to agree to not fight near them and Y/n was happy to step out the way.  Eventually. A somewhat of truce was formed and after a long eleven or so hours, the three were running through a shelter, towards an arc, their only way to survive.
Loki had grabbed Y/n’s hand and was pulling them along, occasionally grabbing Sylvie as well, running naturally faster because of his height. When Y/n ducked as the two fought guards, one of them would always grab their hand first.
“Oi!” Loki shouts as Sylvie drags Y/n along
“What?!”
“Why can’t I grab their hand! I don’t trust you!”
“Oh grow up!” Sylvie shouts back as Y/n lets Loki take their hand again.
Neither Loki nor Y/n had asked about Sylvie’s version of Y/n. Mobius had mentioned how Y/n variants and Loki variants usually met up in some way shape of form, and there was a mention of a Y/n in Sylvie’s file. The way she looked at Y/n, led them both to believe they’d been reset or killed in some way.
Another group of soldiers run up and the fighting begins again, Y/n getting involved this time, finally using all that Asgardian spirit they’d been raised with. Everyone was taught how to be a warrior, even if they were reluctant to fight like Y/n.
Y/n gets sneak attacked by a guard and they struggle to scream, being dragged away behind a building. Loki and Sylvie finish with their guards as Y/n struggles with their guard in an alley, rushing out and being dragged away by a crowd.
“Loki!” They shout and Loki turns to the direction of the crowd, running in and pushing past people to get to his partner as Sylvie sighs, following.
“You’re really attached to them, aren’t you?”
“Like you obviously weren’t” Loki rolls his eyes, seeing a glimpse of Y/n being attacked by another guard
“What does that mean?”
“Nothing!” he stabs the guard attacking Y/n in the back, throwing the guard over to Sylvie to finish off
“It obviously meant something!” she bites back as Loki checks Y/n over for injuries.
“Are you okay?” he asks and they nod, leaning into Loki before looking up at the arc as a meteor fries the top half off.
“Oh gods,”.

Sonally Celebration Week, Year 3, Day 2: Mystery
Day two has come for the celebration of one of the best furry OTP’s ever~. @gojira007 ‘s celebration blog @boundforfreedomsonsal of Sonic and Sally continues and here’s my second entry. Enjoy all~
Sonsally Week, Year Three!!
Day 02: Mystery
Foreword: This episode is still set in the Archie-Verse depicted in my fics of last year and day one’s story. This one is set some years after the fall of Eggman, when peaceful times finally settled on Mobius for the first time in ages. Of course, peace doesn’t always equate to ‘easy’, especially when babysitting two spirited scamps.
“Sonia, Manic- WHERE THE FREAKING BLEEP ARE YOU?!!” Shouted an irate, and clearly frustrated blue hedgehog as his right eye twitched something horribly. Standing in the town-square of the rebuilt Knothole Village, his gaze shifting back and forth from the trees, and the various huts of the quiet village. While mostly destroyed during one of Dr. Eggman’s devastating attacks; the entire village was rebuilt as it was during the war era of fighting the original Robotnik. With a few Eggman era buildings kept, and one or two new additions. Knothole was mainly a tribute to the village that sheltered the survivors of the fall of the original Mobotropolis, and became home of the resistance that would become the Freedom Fighters. Mostly a standing all-may-come museum to pay homage to the place that started as a Royal Retreat/shelter, but became so much more. A few of the huts were still livable, home away from home for certain members of the Freedom Fighters who occasionally would return to Knothole with their families to celebrate and remember those days.
Today, it was host to a game of hide and seek, giving the two instigators of the game a plethora of hiding places. One that was driving the elder brother of Sonia and Manic Hedgehog, one Sonic the Hedgehog, former hero of Mobius, crazy!
After tapping his foot rapidly for a scant few seconds, Sonic cupped his hands together again and shouted as loudly as he could manage. “MANIC! SONIA! FOR BLEEPING FRACK’S SAKE YOU BETTER GET YOUR BUTTS OUT WHERE I CAN SEE EM’! AIN’T FUNNY NO MORE!” It really wasn’t, Sonic nor his lovely wife, had agreed to hide and seek, but his two younger siblings opted to begin a game without anyone’s consent.
A voice soon called to him, followed by familiar footsteps. “Is there a reason you’re using frack and bleep? Is that a new sibling code of some sort Sonic?”
Speaking of lovely wife’s, there she was. Turning to face his wife, Sonic shrugged with a sheepish expression. “It was censor myself or risk using words I don’t think Mom nor Dad would care for two nine-year-olds to repeat.”
“That is probably for the best.” Agreed Sally, with a tired sigh as a hand went to her rounded stomach. She wasn’t far enough along in her own pregnancy; her movements were not hampered; but the extra weight of the two passengers in her belly was sapping her energy. “Whew, I’ve just been walking but I feel ready to kick back.”
Concerned, Sonic walked over and touched her shoulder. “All the more reason I’m not too happy they started this ‘game’ when I made it clear you can’t be as play-happy as usual because you’re pregnant.”
Shaking her head, Sally reached over to place her hand over his, giving an assuring squeeze as she managed a smile. “They’re just kids, it’s alright Sonic. They probably just want to get some last playtime with us before I’m truly an invalid.”
Sonic had to admit she had a point but his ire was not fully dissolved. “Maybe, but this is still too much. Even Mom n’ Dad told em’ to not get carried away.”
Smirking, Sally lifted an eyebrow as she glanced at her husband. “Sonic, they’re ‘your’ siblings. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. There seems to be an innate sass-o-meter in your family. Pushing buttons seems to be something of a religious doctrine.”
Opening his mouth to counter, Sonic slowly shut it, frowning deeply. “... Fair nuff, but I still say you’ve rubbed off on them if we’re going for sass influence.”
“ME?!” Sputtered Sally, an incredulous frown, forming over her face. Beautiful blue, eyes narrowing almost dangerously. “How pray tell, do I count as a bad influence toward Manic or Sonia?”
Smirking widely as he got her goat, Sonic yanked the chain more, counting off with his fingers. “Well again, you’re the Queen of Sass and not just the Kingdom. When you gotta be right, you will argue til’ the cows come home. Plus you’re good at being playful when you want something, Manny’s baby-of-the-family routine is killer thanks to watching you. N’ Sonia’s all about emulating her Sis-in-law’s fancy mannerisms, and silver tongue. Just the other day she was in trouble and convinced Mom to let her off the hook light with a buncha big words she got from you.”
Almost mirroring Sonic, Sally opened her mouth, then closed it as she thought better of it. “...Touche’, but that doesn’t excuse the bad habits you’ve given them love-of-my-life.”
Laughing, Sonic gave her a big, if careful hug. Letting her have that one as, one it was true, and two, he knew jerking her around too much with hormones a-flame was a bad idea. “Of course, of course, but they also picked up on my coolness factor.”
“Truly…” Replied Sally in a dull, drawl that spoke volumes of how little she believed that. “I just hope our own bundles give us something of a break compared to these two. I can see why your parents are all-too-eager for us to babysit when we can.”
“Knowing us, they’ll drive us insane cuz they’ll be just like us in ways, but we’ll love em’ anyway.” Sonic mused, placing a hand to her belly and leaning in to kiss her gently. Sighing in a content manner, Sally melted into the kiss and hug, feeling a bit of the weight of impending motherhood ease off her shoulders to a degree.
Almost as if on cue, a duo of childish voices are heard uttering, “Eeeew gross!”
Instantly, both Sally and Sonic broke the kiss, angled their heads upward, and pointed as they both cried out in triumphant unison. “AH-HA! THERE YOU TWO SCAMPS ARE!”
“Aw crude!” Muttered Manic, as he and his sister clung to one of the large tree branches, quite a ways up that was connected to one of the tree house type huts.
“Well we gave them the ghost for a good twenty-minutes I’d say we won.” Stated Sonia in a rather faux-haughty manner. The more purple-blue of the two, whipped back her-pink hair? Wait, Sonia was blonde! Plus some of her fur looked more magenta-purple now?
In fact, why was Manic’s fur and quills more of a green-ish tinge than the light-blue they should be? Not to mention that punk-esque quill style... Eyes narrowing, Sonic let go of Sally, zipped into the hollowed out large tree with a hut built around the base. With the same speed, he charged up the ladder within the hollowed out tree, allowing him to come out at the point where the tree-house hut was, and lean out where the landing gave way to a natural, thick tree branch.
“Oh no, you two did not!”
Putting on the best coy, innocent face he could, Manic twiddled his fingers together in a playful manner. “What’re you talking about Big-Bro?”
“Seriously Sonic, you need to use clear, concise words.” Snickered Sonia.
“You both dyed your hair and fur!” Sonic pointed between each sibling. “Mom’s gonna have kittens!” Growled their elder brother as his mind swam with images of a none-too-pleased Bernadette Hedgehog glaring at her son and daughter-in-law.
Arms crossed, Sally tapped her foot, in a manner not unlike her husband. “You two sneaks lost us to go and do the dye-jobs yourself didn’t you?”
“Maaaaaaaaaaaaaybe.” Both twins chorused.
Sighing Sally frowned more. “Manic, Sonia, you do realize your Mother and Father are going to tan the crap out of your hides. They both told you, neither of you could have such radical dye jobs until you were fifteen, thirteen at the earliest if you both proved responsible enough! Plus, Manic, sweetie, why are you intent on making yourself look like Scourge?!”
“Hey!” Manic cried indignantly, a pout forming on his lips. “I just like the color, it’s not my fault Sonic’s scrub of a doppelganger had the same color-job! It screams ‘me’! Plus I don’t have sharp teeth or those evil eyes like he does, plus my quills are cooler lookin!”
“I’ll give you that li’ bro, on the being cooler looking thing, but dam-er dang it!” Sonic grabbed his own head-quills, mussing them up some in frustration. “Urgh Mom n’ Dad ain’t gonna let us watch you two ever again if you pull crap like this again!”
“He’s right.” Sighed Sally, rather dramatically. “We’ll be seen as so irresponsible they will forbid us from ever seeing you again!” She put a hand to her heart, and the other against her head. Truly, piling on the dramatic flair. “They may even question if we’re fit to be parents ourselves and have our babies taken from us.”
While Sonia rolled her eyes, Manic’s went wide as panic took over his earlier nonchalant attitude. “R-really?! We don’t want that!”
“Manny, bro she’s trying to guilt us!”
“Well it’s working! I didn’t wanna get them in that deep of trouble!”
“Manic she’s the QUEEN!! Mom and Dad can’t do jack to her!” His (slighty) older twin argued, seeing her partner-in-crime was about to fold.
“Wanna bet?” Sonic crossed his arms, smirking fully as he saw the sliver of doubt in the two’s eyes. “Mom can be scary when she wants and Dad, Dad is aaaaaaaaaall about the ‘subtle, quiet big stick’ kind of approach.”
Now even Sonia was doubting if they’d gone too far, especially as it pertained to how much trouble this might land her and Manic. Maybe she underestimated her ability to talk her way out of trouble. “M-Maaaybe we got a little carried away?”
“You sure did you two scamps, now if you come with me down the tree, we might ‘might’ convince Mom and Dad to let you both stay the night, and we can wash out the dyes and treat your fur so they never notice.”
Nodding as they both climbed fast, but still safely across the branch to Sonic. The two younger hedgehogs cling onto his legs. “We give, we give!!”
“Smart choice!” Laughed Sally from the ground, smiling at the won tag-team victory of talking the kids into doing their bidding. “If you two behave onward, there might be my special ice cream sundaes after supper.”
“Really?!”
Maybe handling kids wouldn’t be so hard after all? Sally thought before speaking aloud to them. “Cross my heart!”
“N’ you know Sal’s promises are good as gold.” Quipped Sonic as he guided the two once they stood up towards the ladder down to ground level. “Also, expect to help do some chores as further punishment for this stunt.”
“What?! Oh come on big brother-!”
“Nope, nada, don’t even try to talk me down Sonia!” Sonic cut her off as he coaxed first Manic, then Sonia to climb down the ladder. “Sal’s gotta take it easy and I need help doing this and that.”
“But you guys got a staff at the castle to do stuff!” Pipped Manic, his voice echoing through the hollow tree.
“It keeps us honest to do our own chores.” Quipped Sonic, watching them both get halfway before he started down the ladder himself. “Plus if you want us to keep quiet about the dye-thing-.”
“Oh fine!” Both younger hedgehogs huffed, giving up arguing.
“Being a big brother has its perks.” Chuckled Sonic to himself as he made his way down. Maybe in a few years, Sally and he could return the favor and foist their own kids on Manic and Sonia to babysit. Oh the payback will be sweet!

Thoughts on the Loki tv show then?
Short version: I'm liking it! I fully expected to hate the show given that I hated almost everything they did with Loki in the MCU after Dark World. However, they're doing a pretty good job. I think overall, it's a mixed bag for me, but a mixed bag is so much better than I was expecting that I'm very happy with it. Episode 3 really was a big step up after the first two eps and I hope future episodes continue.
Now if you want the long version, I've been writing up my thoughts after each episode to share on a private forum, so I'll copy and paste under the cut. Also spoilers galore past this point:
Ep.1 "Glorious Purpose" Loki himself is the big important thing so I'm gonna talk about him first, and I was both happy and disappointed with his characterization here. Let me explain. Tom Hiddleston obviously plays everything perfectly, and he did a great job on every moment. But the writing on Loki's character is pretty inconsistent. There were a LOT of moments that genuinely felt like they were right out of the golden era of MCU Loki that captured his speech patterns perfectly, his mannerisms, his world view, his humor. Those moments were legitimately there, and they were there more often than I was expecting. Ragnarok had Loki written wrong down to the dialogue and his manner of speaking, and so it was actually very refreshing to see him written generally well, particularly in his conversations with Agent Mobius. However there were multiple moments where he was blatantly written out of character to pander to jokes or to dip into that Ragnarok jokey joke tone. I audibly groaned at the "Am I robot" bit, which was SUCH low brow human and so not in line with the fact that Loki literally knows exactly what he is and had a "species reveal" that was very important to his character. I also would have liked him to be a little more violent. This man came out of a portal, saw SHIELD agents threatening him and immediately went into kill mode in Avengers. Yet this guy stands around and lets himself be taken and forced into situations a lot. But overall, I was happy with his general characterization because I expected the bad stuff to be much worse and it wasn't and the good stuff was more plentiful than I expected. I wasn't fond of the "I don't enjoy hurting people" bit because it's weepy and wrong, but it also was an expected development and I do appreciate that they're at least delving deep into his character on an intellectual level and playing off that "Always so perceptive about everyone but yourself" line of Frigga's. There's potential to do something interesting with him here, so I'm intrigued if not convinced. The Time Keepers concept I hate, but I think I hate it because Loki ALSO hates it and we're a bit too alike in a few regards even here XD I just kind of wish it was less bureaucratic and "we're a joke about corporate offices" and was something more mystical and other worldly. I feel like if it was more science fantasy and ethereal feeling, I would probably be a lot more down for it. But I guess you gotta save money somehow. Agent Mobius is likable, and I like how he can go toe to toe with Loki and how he's kind of morally neutral. I called that Loki was the dangerous time variant disrupting the timeline before it was revealed, but I have to wonder why in the final scene they kept his face hidden. That would have been a great opportunity to show Hiddles hamming up the evil bloodlust, and I am HUNGRY for that. But they kept that Loki hidden in shadows for a reason, and I have two theories regarding why: 1. It actually ISN'T Loki and Agent Mobius is wrong and our villain is someone else. 2. Our villain is LADY Loki and they're saving the reveal that villain Loki is a woman for a later episode. We'll see if I'm right. I HOPE it's number 2 if they kept him in shadow for a reason. So yeah. Not exactly what I wanted but we're on the right track at least for now. I hope this track leads somewhere interesting.
Ep.2 "The Variant" So, first things first, this episode had "I Need a Hero" during a fight scene and TOTALLY botched it. It was way too early to play that card, the action didn't sync with the battle, and it was between a few nameless TVA agents and the evil Loki with the evil Loki still masked in shadow and not really doing much. It just lacked the OOMPH that I felt was necessary for it to be satisfying. This should have been done better. Loki characterization update: less good and less bad than episode one at the same time. There was no "Am I a robot?" cringe, but there was a lot less of the really good Loki dialogue that caught my attention in episode 1. His seemed to have kinda settled back to the mediocrity of Ragnarok Loki with occasional moments of intrigue such as his whole bit about a wolf's ears and teeth. Loki's obviously planning to overthrow the time keepers and to become the new master of time, and he even says as much to his alternate counterpart this episode. I have a sick feeling they're going to have him grow to like the TVA and to save the time stream, but I really want him to follow through with his plans because I think that's much more interesting than the alternative. Will they do it? Time will tell. I also like how much he utterly does not give a shit about Mobius's condolences about Ragnarok happening. That was a good touch. Speaking of Mobius, I still don't care for him or the TVA. They're all just very boring to me, and I don't like Loki being caged to follow their bidding. It's restraining a hurricane of excitement by forcing it to play within this very structured framework instead of burning through freely. With Loki escaping into the timestream to chase after the other Loki, hopefully that will change for the better next episode. Mobius himself gets his character expanded a bit, but his expansion is literally that he is just a cog who doesn't question his purpose and does what he does because it's what he's told to do. And that's just not compelling to me. Sidebar: Ravona, Kang the Conqueror's lover, is the head of the TVA. A fun tidbit but where's Kang? I like the way the episode explored how time variants can't happen during massive catastrophes and apocalypses because everyone dies and everything gets destroyed, so they're safe places for time variants to hide and interact with history. I enjoyed Loki and Mobius going back and messing with Pompeii right before Vesuvius erupts to test that theory. That was fun (though I wish Loki would have, instead of just acting silly and making a scene, would have done his "Kneel before me" bit on the Pompeiians or something more villainous). And I liked the whole aesthetic of them exploring a massive hurricane in Alabama in 2050 and the whole aesthetic going on there. It gave the episode an epic quality. The evil Loki was revealed in this episode, and the twist is that she's Lady Loki. Yeah, I called it. She hasn't done much herself yet and we haven't seen her do much except posses the bodies of various others and then break the timeline with multiple sprawling timeline variants, both of which is very cool. I'm excited for her, though my biggest complaint is that she has blonde hair. No. Lady Loki has BLACK hair. Why didn't they stick her in a black wig or have the actress dye her hair??? AMORA is the blonde Asgardian villainess. Lady Loki has the same hair color as Loki. And... look, I know it's a dumb detail to get hung up on, but the black hair matters to me because Loki has black hair and his beautiful female form does too and I always liked that for personal reasons. Also, she doesn't want to be called "Loki" apparently which is weird but okay, so what DOES she want to be called? I swear if they name her Amora or Sigyn, I'm gonna throw something.
But yeah, the next episode I think promises to be a change of pace, and we can see if Loki can truly spread his wings free of the TVA. I hope he does.
Ep.3 "Lamentis" This was the best episode yet! And for MULTIPLE reasons. This episode sees Loki and Lady Loki Sylvie stranded together in time. It was away from the TVA and it's boring qualities, which was great, and it put two very interesting characters in a situation where they had to rely on each other. This is more of what I was HOPING we'd get from the show. It's a lot more engaging and fun. The TVA always feel like they have their boot on our necks, and having that boot gone, it's amazing how much easier it is to breathe. And I honestly think that was intentional too with regards to how Sylvie outright calls them tyrannical fascist time police. The whole thing with Loki and Sylvie being stranded on the planet Lamentis during its apocalypse is super cool too. First of all, Lamentis is BEAUTIFULLY designed. I can tell they relied on desert locales to save on the budget, but the purple sky, the colorful train, and the neon alien city are all really pleasing to look at. And with the sky literally falling around them, it looks even cooler and the stakes feel cosmic and intense because they ARE. A very good setting that felt refreshing after the very mundane TVA headquarters and Earth scenes. Loki continues to be a sort of mixed bag with weird moments of humor that feel like they were written by someone else for another character, but those moments were a lot more sparse this time around too. Tom is still unmatched in the role, and I love the way he got to be serious, smug, manipulative, and sincere in this episode. I've kinda accepted and settled into anti-hero Loki for this series, and I'm honestly pretty okay with it here. See, I think my issues with Loki being "good" is that it comes with making amends with Thor or working for the TVA. Seeing him pursuing his own agenda on his own terms and collaborating with a kindred spirit who he seems to genuinely like is a lot easier to stomach because it feels a lot more true to the freedom that is so potent about his villainy. I loved him talking about Frigga and how she taught him her magic. That was a genuinely powerful moment. Also even though his dagger metaphor for love got kinda undercut by a joke, I think it was quite good writing and really cut to the point of what makes Loki tic. Also this episode marks a VERY important moment: Loki was canonized on screen as being bisexual in the MCU. He is the FIRST queer main character in the MCU and the first queer main protagonist of a Disney show. And I like the way they did it too! The way Sylvie asked about if he had any dalliances with princesses and then adds "or princes" and Loki says "a bit of both." It was simple and direct and unambiguous, and I love it because Loki has always BEEN queer in the MCU and the writing for him has been very queercoded. Even if that little moment is all it amounts to, it really matters and means a lot to me that they did it and I'm so happy for it. I hope they give him a boyfriend though. Like PLEEEEASE Marvel. Sylvie I'm more okay with this time around. She IS established as Sylvie and not really identifying as Loki anymore, so I can separate her from my preconception of Lady Loki and not mind the BLONDE so much. Sylvie is the name of the second Enchantress in the comics, an Enchantress that Loki himself created. I'm interested to see where they go with her backstory and who she is and what her deal is because they've been implying that she differs from the main Loki quite a lot to the point where she barely even remembers who Frigga was. I also like that Loki's response to the bisexual question implies that Sylvie is bi too. Get that MLM/WLW solidarity. I hope they don't ship them, but I hope they DO stay friends and allies because I'm loving their friendship chemistry. Also, a minor thing in the grand scheme of this episode, but Loki SINGS in this one! And I love it! Tom's always had a very pretty voice that he's gotten to show off in other roles so I'm glad he got to show off his singing in this role too. The Norse folk song he sings was both jovial and somber all at once, and I
loved it. We deserved this Minor nitpick: please give Loki his Asgardian clothes back or something. Because this TVA suit is fucking ugly and I hate it. Sylvie looks so good next to him, and he deserves to be just as stylish. This was a GREAT turning point. PLEEEEEASE keep it up. F&WS failed to. But I genuinely believe that Loki can do it.

Art Dump!
I finally got over my anxiety and decided to put up two of my most recent artworks. They were both crossover pics between my own OCs & that of my friends’!
Tumblr media
The blonde vampire with the skeleton hoodie is my OC Cory “Skell” Skellington, while the possessed boy they’re shooshing is Raven Mobius/Rei Karasuma, @soulhack‘s OC! Skell is a necromancer (aka able to commune with the dead) who wishes to help people unable to pass to their next lives due to trauma etc., hence why they’re shooshing the spirit possessing Raven.
Tumblr media
And in this one, the lime green-haired demon is my OC Alex LaVey, while the demon with the patchwork clothing is @ruvikdraws‘s OC Oleander! They’re demon lovers. That’s it. I just wanted to draw them being hot together.
For the first picture, I used no references. For the second picture, I used a pose reference from this reference sheet: https://www.deviantart.com/aonikaart/art/Couples-poses-chart-312914069

Ok so... I don't mean to go mixing paints, but just imagine how funny/cute it would be if your Kitsune!Mob AU combined with the Hobo!Mob AU? Like... Mob saves young Reigen from the bullies, wanders off before Reigen thanks him, and instead of finding the man, he finds a dirty fox passed out under a bridge. Rather than call animal control, he brings it home, mistaking it for the mysterious man's dog or whatev, and thinks he'll take care of it and bring it back to the man to return the favor.
Um... actually?
That’s the idea that provided the basis of the Hobo!Mob AU. 😅
One day, just for fun, I decided to see what an ageswapped Mythical AU looked like. What I came up with ended up providing a lot of key ideas to the H!M AU, which I ultimately decided was probably the stronger story to follow. And because I can, imma share the contents of that first brainstorming document and will offer all 3k words of it to you under the cut.
Age!Swap Mythical AU - Because why not?
Reigen is 14; Mob is 28.
Mob is still a magical fox. But in growing up without a guiding hand, his life doesn’t go so great. He suffers from depression and suicidal tendencies as he is exhausted of humanity. But as a fox, complex emotions are dulled, taking a backseat to survival instincts. For that reason, he’s spent the last few years living as a fox on the streets, surviving off of garbage and rats. In some ways, things are clearer as a fox, but in others, it seems to rob him of his higher brain functions. And as a fox, his life is that much more in peril as it’s a struggle to survive. If he dies on the streets, likely no one will ever find out what happened to him. But life as a human is so painful that he doesn’t want to consider it anymore.
This is how he winds up cornered by two stray dogs, looking to make either a meal or chew toy out of him. It doesn’t help that he’s already mentally compromised from starvation and illness, meaning he doesn’t even think to shift back to human or use his magic to scare them off. He does get a good few bites on the dogs before they overwhelm him. But something comes barreling in, chasing away his attackers, giving him a chance to flee and hide in a corner.
His savior is a strawberry blonde kid, who comes up to him to see if he’s OK. Mob clearly isn’t and tries to scare the boy off, but he’s hardly deterred. Instead, he uses his jacket to catch Mob and cart him home, keeping a firm grip on him even with his struggling. Mob is scared out of his mind, until the kid starts talking to him.
The kid’s name is Reigen Arataka, Mob learns. And he is very earnest about helping what he thinks is an injured dog, explaining what he’s doing in hopes that maybe this animal will somehow understand him. Something in his words reaches Mob through his mental fog and he stops fighting the kid, going limp in the boy’s arms. This confuses the boy to no end, but decides not to question his luck.
Arataka takes Mob home of course, tending to the fox’s injuries, cleaning him up (which reveals Mob is in fact a fox), and feeding him. Mob is pliant this entire time, only protesting if anything hurts. Despite his instincts urging him to flee, Mob’s softer side isn’t willing to hurt a cub, especially one who’s only trying to help. So he lets Arataka do what he needs to do. After several trying hours, Mob is set into a box to recover in peace.
As Mob heals, the food and rest makes it much easier to think and observe his surroundings. He takes a liking to Arataka, as the kid is always gentle and enjoys talking to him, sometimes going on about his day, sometimes talking about his problems, sometimes nothing in particular. Mob becomes the boy’s confidante, sensing that Arataka is really a very lonely kid. For all his outgoing bluster, he doesn’t have any close friends. His parents aren’t around as much as they ought to be and the house is often empty of other people. So Mob is always willing to provide cuddles and allows himself to be scratched and petted. He knows all too well how terrible it is to be alone.
Eventually, Mob’s injuries heal and Arataka realizes he needs to let Mob go. The boy figures that the fox must be someone’s pet, both from Mob’s coloration and tameness. Fliers are put up around town asking for the owner of a found pet fox. Arataka hopes to high heaven that no one comes to claim Mob, but someone eventually does call in and asks to take a look.
When the doorbell rings, Arataka meets a man with spiky black hair who introduces himself as Kageyama Ritsu. He looks a bit annoyed to be there oddly enough. The moment he spots Mob, he just facepalms and goes “Shigeo, really?”
Arataka is heartbroken. He tries not to cry, but loses it when Mob comes up to comfort him. The boy doesn’t notice the looks going back and forth between the fox and his “owner”. Kageyama-san eventually clears his throat, asking for a moment alone with his br- pet. Arataka’s mom does her best to comfort her son, while the other two step into a side room.
The first rusty words out of Mob’s muzzle are that he wants to stay with Arataka. Ritsu is furious. Mob disappears into the wilds all those years ago with no contact only to show up now as some kid’s pet?? What is he thinking? Ritsu has been out of his mind terrified that his brother died! Mob needs to stay human and to try working through his problems like a normal adult. Mob looks ashamed but says he can’t leave, not when Arataka needs him more. Ritsu isn’t swayed by this, kind of offended that his brother would rather stay with some kid than this own family. But Mob asserts that he’s so, so tired of living as a human, tired of trying to find reasons to keep going. As a fox, the act of being alive is so much easier. Ritsu isn’t any happier to hear this, but even he isn’t willing to see his brother suffering as a human while he has some purpose as a fox. Mob is not blind to this, doing his best to reassure his brother that he’s working through things his own way. The younger brother just sighs. He’s not sure what to do here. Mob thinks for a moment before making a suggestion…
When Kageyama-san comes back out with Mob in his arms, Arataka is resigned to saying goodbye. But then the man uncomfortably admits that while the fox belongs to his family, he hasn’t had time to properly care for him. He’d actually been trying to rehome him before the fox got loose. He can see how much the two have bonded and it wouldn’t be right to break that. So he makes a proposal: Arataka can take care of the fox (with his parent’s permission) while Kageyama-san will send money for whatever expenses his bro- pet needs. Basically, an extended pet-sitting job. He’ll check in every so often to make sure things are OK, since the fox means a lot to him. And his family. Yeah.
Arataka almost can’t believe what he’s hearing and looks to his mom, practically begging her to agree. Though Reigen’s mom was initially upset at Mob’s presence, she can see how much happier her son is with a pet. And it helps that Mob is the cleanest, most well-behaved pet she’s ever met. So she agrees and it’s the best day of Arataka’s life.
After working things through with Reigen’s mom, Kageyama-san makes sure to share an important bit of info: The fox’s actual name is Kageyama Shigeo. But he’ll also answer to Mob. Maybe Sesame too since that’s what Arataka’s been calling him. The boy nods solemnly, promising to be the best caretaker Mob-san has ever had.
So life moves on with Mob as a more permanent fixture in Arataka’s life. The boy couldn’t be any happier. He for one, loves having a fuzzy best friend that’s so tolerant about the silly things he does. He likes making internet videos with the two of them, usually of Arataka puppeteering a docile Mob into doing goofy things (Ritsu learns just how funny his brother’s ‘NO’ face as a fox looks). Otherwise, they spend time in the park, Arataka getting Mob to play fetch (where Mob sometimes fetches the wrong item on purpose just to see how the boy reacts) or some other game. One thing that Arataka learns early on is that ‘Mob’ is not short for anything, as much as he thinks Mobius would be an amazing name (Mob disagrees). At home, Mob is very conscientious. He never makes messes, never makes more noise than he needs to, and generally tries to make his presence as unobtrusive as possible. He’s always very careful to avoid when people are naked or covering his eyes if he can’t. He might technically be an adult human male, but he’s no pervert. But he’s not opposed to sharing a bed, usually with Arataka snuggling him like a teddy bear. This is probably the happiest either have been in a long time.
Inevitably, the truth finds its way out. It starts when Arataka gets it in his head that he should totally be a ghost exorcist when he grows up. He does the usual things kids do when the idea of ghost hunting bites them: watch ghost movies, buy ghost hunting junk, research how to do it, all that good stuff. Mob just watches on in amusement. Since he was always able to see ghosts, he never got the appeal of interacting with them, especially because they tended to be malevolent in his experience. He figures it’s just a phase or something and Arataka will move on to something else.
But it doesn’t. Mob then has to accompany/protect the kid when he starts to poke around in haunted places, hoping to find something, anything that’s worthwhile. And one day he does. Arataka accidentally enrages an old and powerful evil spirit with his trespassing. Though he’s excited at what he’s found, it turns to fear as it attacks him, managing to land a solid hit on the boy. That’s enough for Mob to explode, furiously drawing on his magic to obliterate the spirit. Mob is forced to speak in order to grasp the extent of Arataka’s injuries in order to heal him.
When Arataka comes to, he spots Mob attempting to leave without him and yells at him to wait. Mob tries to pretend he doesn’t understand, but he’s a terrible liar, even as a fox. Because Arataka is positive Mob is a magic fox and can talk. With a heavy heart, Mob admits that he is.
With Arataka’s prodding, Mob reluctantly reveals that yes, he was born human, with his fox powers awakened very early in life. That he’s really in his late-twenties and no he doesn’t have a life outside of the one he lives now. No, he never managed to get into either college or a job. Yes, he lived on the streets for a few years, eating garbage and rats. Um, rats can taste good depending on what it was eating. No, Ritsu is not his owner, but his brother. Yes, his brother’s a fox too, but he prefers living as a human. Arataka then asks why Mob doesn’t live like his brother, why he’s okay with being stuck as a pet. Mob firmly tells Arataka that he doesn’t want to be human. The boy looks a bit hurt at that, Mob quickly amending that, no, Arataka being human is fine. Humanity just didn’t work for Mob. He was never very good at it. And since he had options, he chose to forgo it entirely. It’s not unheard of for those who can shapeshift to simply abandon humanity and flee into the wilderness.
But this puts Mob in an uncomfortable position. With the truth revealed, there’s no way they can go back to the way things were. It’d be better if Mob simply moved on. But Arataka refuses to let that happen. Yeah, this is weird, but now this means they’re on more even ground. Mob doesn’t have to be treated like a dumb animal. And… Mob’s been the best friend he’s ever had. Best friends don’t just leave each other. And he’s afraid for Mob. He recognizes the thin scars hidden under Mob’s fur for what they are. No, he can’t call Mob a pet in good conscience. But he still wants to call him his friend.
Though he’s hesitant, Mob admits he does too.
(More character development involving Mob and Reigen navigating their weird friendship of magic fox and boy would take place here, say maybe 6 months passing in story. Ritsu would drop the act that his brother is his pet. Reigen’s mom would wonder why her son’s now talking to his pet like a person. And why is the fox responding like a person??)
(insert dramatic event)
For the first time in years, Mob assumes human form to fight off a threat in the form of a full-grown human. As a man, Mob looks haggard, several years worth of beard on his face, hair long and messy, clothes tattered and dirty. He wins the fight. However, when he sees Arataka’s shocked face, Mob takes it the wrong way and freaks out, apologizing like mad through crying he can’t stop. He turns tail and runs, changing back into a fox and running away as fast as he can, Arataka’s frantic yelling falling on deaf ears.
Mob runs for a long time, without a destination in mind. But eventually, he starts to recognize the area as where his brother lives. At a complete loss, he goes to Ritsu’s place and begs him for help. Ritsu has no idea what’s going on, but lets his brother in. After some coaxing, Mob explains what happened. He’s ashamed of himself, he saw how Arataka looked at him as a human and he doesn’t think the boy will ever want to be near him again. Ritsu doesn’t understand and finally asks for Mob to change back to human form so he can maybe see what he’s talking about. Mob reluctantly does and for the first time, Ritsu realizes just what terrible shape his brother is in, that he’d underestimated just how much pain Mob was in this entire time. Mob is ready to bolt, but Ritsu holds onto him, unwilling to let him fall apart even further.
Mob spends a few days at Ritsu’s trying to recuperate in human form. Most of that time is spent sleeping. He cleans up, but doesn’t bother cutting his hair or shaving, feeling like it’s pointless since he’s going to be a fox again soon. A lot of the feelings of worthlessness and self-hatred come rushing back. Several nights are spent crying, with Ritsu trying to comfort his brother. Mob eventually reveals his cutting scars to his brother for the first time, admitting to how extensively he did so (on his upper arms, a few on his wrist, his thighs, his sides, his stomach).
And then one day, while Ritsu is working and Mob is trying not to dissociate in bed, Arataka shows up out of nowhere. He had to search through every single Kageyama in the phonebook before he managed to find them. The phonebook! Who does that anymore?? At least this is only the sixth place he checked. Mob is so stunned that Arataka slips past him and into the apartment before he thinks to shut the door. The boy immediately cuts to the chase, telling Mob that he’d been worried about him. Was it something he did? He’ll make up for it, he promises!
(Mob and Reigen talk as humans for the first time. Mob’s nervous, but Reigen reassures him that it’s not weird. OK, it’s kinda weird, but Reigen’s had a few days to prepare for this, so he’s gotten used to the idea. They have a heart to heart about their feelings and what Mob intends to do now. Mob has no idea, but Reigen does.)
So Arataka unveils his plans for the Spirits and Such Consultation Agency. People sometimes need exorcisms. Mob can do that. Arataka can help facilitate things. It’s win-win for everyone! Mob is more skeptical. He doubts that many people need that kind of help. And even if they did, they wouldn’t go to a fox for that. But Arataka points out that, no, Mob can be the human adult that customers need to see before they feel they’re worth the time. He is right now! Mob just points to his overgrown look, as in, who’d hire a hobo like me? Arataka just grins at him. Oh, he knows. That’s why he came prepared.
The next few hours sees the judicious use of an electric razor with a pair of scissors and ends with a lot of hair on the floor and a clean-shaven, bowl-cut Mob staring into a mirror, barely recognizing himself. He looks… human again. Arataka then throws a bunch of clothes at Mob, telling him to try them on. Mob’s wonders where Arataka got these, but the boy just admits he raided Ritsu’s closet. In the end, he comes out wearing a soft black turtleneck, black slacks, and a sharp white jacket. Arataka thinks it’s perfect. It’s just the professional image needed for the face of the new company. Mob just hopes Ritsu doesn’t get too mad at him for taking his clothes. Because he kinda likes the outfit.
At this point, Ritsu comes home. Seeing the new Mob startles him so bad that Ritsu’s fox ears and tail come out (the first time Arataka ever sees any sign of them). Though alarmed, Ritsu is happy for his brother. But maybe just give him a warning next time he decides to look like a completely different person after only a few hours. All of this is pretty overwhelming for Mob, who feels like he’s barreling straight back into the human world. He’s not sure if he’s ready for this.
(Reigen reassures him that if he wants to go back to the way things were, it’s still an option. While it’s tempting, Mob decides he’s tired of running away. Because now the future doesn’t look so bleak anymore. He can see a place for himself in it. And with that, he takes his first steps out into an uncertain future, certain that his friends and family will be there behind him, ready to catch him if he falters.)
(OK, honestly, I never had a real ending in mind for this. Never really knew what to do with it before the non-fox version of this wound up taking up more brain space and got more compelling the more research into Japanese culture I did.)
Anyways, if you somehow made it here, congratulations! You read some of my weird brain gibberish! If for some reason anyone wants to take this idea and run with it, go right ahead! I’m not using it, may as well let someone else have fun with this! I have no way of stopping you! 8D
