Beautiful Boy
Marinette sank into the hospital bed, as the nurses checked over her newborn son.
"You did so well, M'Lady." Adrien whispered in her ear, "Our son is finally here."
Marinette smiled as the nurse brought their son over to her. She looked down and could see the little tufts of blonde hair. When he blinked, she could see blue eyes. From the corner of her eye, she saw the nurses leave to give them some privacy.
"A mix of us." She spoke.
"The world better watch out." he stated, making his wife giggle.
"He's so cute Adrien." Marinette declared, "What should we name him? I had some ideas, but I want your opinion, too."
"What were your ideas?" he asked.
Marinette blushed, "I sort-of....always liked the names Hugo or Louis."
"Hugo Agreste. Louis Agreste." he spoke, looking down at their son, "What about Naruto Agreste?"
"N-Naruto?" Marinette questioned.
"We-We don't have to!" Adrien immediately backtracked, "I liked your names, too!"
Marinette looked down at their son.
"Naruto Agreste." she smiled.
'It must mean something in Mandarin.'
"Wait. Really?" Adrien questioned.
"Yes." she replied, "Little Naruto Agreste."
"So, did you guys pick a name?" Alya questioned, over the phone.
Nino shouted, "Yeah, tell us!"
"I gave Adrien the two suggestions I liked, but he wanted a different name. I like it. It sounds nice and I think it's in Mandarin." Mari answered.
"Cool." Nino smiled, "What did he pick?"
"Naruto." the new mother answered.
"Naruto?" the other couple shouted.
"Yes?" Marinette replied, "Is-Is there something wrong with the name? Is it too weird?"
Alya just laughed and walked away. Nino smiled and took his phone out of his pocket.
"You do know you married a weeb, right?" he questioned.
"Don't tell me." Mari sighed, closing her eyes.
"Meet Naruto Uzumaki." Nino chuckled, as Alya continued to die of laughter in the background.
Marinette opened her eyes to see a blonde haired boy with blue eyes, similar to their newborn son.
"I'm gonna kill him." she answered.
Adrien walked back into the hospital room with some food and drinks from the hospital cafeteria. He wasn't expecting to see his wife so upset. She looked scarier than his father ever had.
'Had something happened to their son while he was gone?'
"M-Mari?" Adrien stuttered out.
"You can choose Hugo or Louis for our child's name." Marinette declared.
"What about-" he began.
Marinette turned her phone around and showed him Naruto Uzumaki.
Adrien winced, "Oh." and then smiled, "Middle name?"
"Hugo Naruto Agreste?" Mari questioned.
"Louis Naruto Agreste?" Adrien offered.
Marinette sighed, "Louis Naruto Agreste."
Adrien smiled happily and brought the food closer to Marinette.
"Your father drives me crazy sometimes, but I love him." She spoke, picking up their son.
"And I love you, M'Lady." Adrien replied, kissing her cheek.
"Dork." Marinette giggled.
"Still yours, though." He answered.
"Yes, you are." Marinette smiled, "Adrien?"
"Yeah?" he asked.
"You are not doing that ever again and if I find out that you went behind my back, I'm changing my name back to Dupain-Cheng." she growled out.
Adrien gulped and quickly nodded. Marinette smiled sweetly up at him.
"Good. That includes video game characters." Marinette continued.
"Aw, come on!" the new father whined, "Imagine having a girl named Zelda!"
"Adrien." she spoke.
"Or we can name it Link, if it's a boy again." he continued.
"Adrien." the new mother called.
"But they'll be so cute!" Adrien defended himself, "Emma Zelda Agreste! Hugo Link Agreste!"
"Adrien!" Marinette shouted.
He pouted, "It's unique."
"Aren't all of those for blonde children?" she questioned.
"Maybe." he answered with a smile.
"What if they get my hair or are brunette like Papa?" Mari asked.
"I'll come up with names for those, too!" Adrien exclaimed, "Oh, Maybe Hinata or Neji. There's Rikka, Rimuru, Levy, Asuna, Tomoya, Yui, Haruhi, Kaname, Tai, Lucina, Sakura, -"
Marinette looked down at her son in her arms and smiled.
'Why do I feel your father is going to be more of a handful than you?'

Where We Find Ourselves Again - Ch 13
Preview:
Ladybug left her open-mouthed husband – left a distraught, remorseful Mr Ramier – left all those people shrieking and crying in the street. She left everyone and swung her way back towards her parents’ bakery, de-transforming in a side road nearby, leaning heavily against the brick wall and trying to catch her breath. Her blood burned and her body shook, like she was in the throes of fever.
‘Are you okay, Marinette?’ Tikki asked.
With trembling fingers, Marinette managed to fish through her bag and retrieve a macaron, throwing it to her kwami. ‘No, Tikki, I’m not. I’m really not okay.’ Just saying this out loud made her realise how not okay she was.
Hawk Moth was Lila.
Lila.
She’d known – she’d warned everyone – but no one had listened to her. And now –
A sharp spike of pain made her stare at her fist. She’d just punched the wall without noticing, and her knuckles were red and sore. Tears hung in her eyes, suspended by the shock of what she’d done.
Tikki hovered by her hand, inspecting it with worried eyes. At least there was no blood.
‘All this time, Tikki, all this time…I thought it was my fault that the miracle box was taken.’
‘I know.’
‘No, you don’t know!’
Tikki drew back, her mouth open in surprise.
Probably because Marinette was almost yelling. So much for staying hidden. But now that she’d started, she couldn’t stop herself. Heartache sent the words pouring out of her. ‘Adrien was so angry at me when he found out the box was in the apartment. Every time he looked at me, there was that…that disappointment in his eyes. But if Hawk Moth is Lila, then – then it was Adrien. He’s the one who wanted to give her a chance. He got drunk that night and…. It was Adrien, after I told him and told him and –’ The tears found their way down her cheeks and she clenched her fists to her chest, collapsing in on herself.
I didn’t tell him. I didn’t tell him what happened to me and that’s why he –

Latest Story: Never Take This for Granted
Who’s ready for probably the shortest ficlet I’ve written for this fandom?
Well, I woke up this morning with (more-or-less) these exact thoughts in my own head, and something told me that Adrien would probably have them too. Maybe it's because I see myself in him a little bit. Maybe because I think he'd learn the same lessons I did with regards to losing a parent. I lost my dad roughly the same age that Adrien lost Emile. While my mom did not end up neglectful, abusive, manipulative, nor a terrorist, much like Gabriel, my mom did make it well known how hurt she was to have lost her spouse. I felt the pain of her realizing she lost the love of her life too early in life (she wasn't even 40) and after far too few years together. I praise my mom for the strength she has shown through the years and how – unlike Gabriel – her love for my dad made her stronger and helped carry her forward.
I know from experience that loves cannot last forever, and may very well be ripped from you too soon. Which is probably why I had these thoughts (ones I frequently have, if I'm honest) when I awoke, and why I feel Adrien might have them too. So, enjoy my morning thoughts, as told by Adrien.
(If you want that extra ambiance, I had the song "Ceilings" by Lizzy McAlpine stuck in my head while I was writing this)
Summary: Adrien awakes overwhelmed with gratitude to be married to Marinette.
Rating: General Audience
Word Count: 420
Status: completed one-shot

Never Take This for Granted
Adrien awoke before their alarm. The gentle sunlight through their curtains was enough to stir him. The laundry list of things that needed to be done raced through his mind, and he debated taking advantage of the early start to the day.
Then Marinette softly snored beside him.
With a smile, he knew his place was in bed. At least, for a little while longer. He shifted so he could spoon his wife; careful not to move her or wake her. He rested his hand on her hip, and closed his eyes to the world so he could soak her in with his other senses.
They had been together for twenty years, but it still felt like not enough time. He knew that twenty years was both an amazing gift and just a drop in a hat. The duality of it being exceptionally long and tragically short. He needed another twenty years. Forty. Sixty. Eighty! No matter how long they had, it would always be too short.
“Please,” he silently prayed. He wasn't sure to whom, but to any and every Greater Power there might be. He wordlessly screamed his plea to the cosmos. “Please, never let me take this for granted. Have me always be comforted by her body heat against me. Let me always find her quiet breathing soothing. Let my hand always feel at home on her hip. Let her smell always lull me. Let the fact that I wake up with her beside me always amaze me a little bit. Let me feel lucky that I have her in my life; always. Forever. Please, please. Don't ever let me take her for granted. Let me memorize every morning I have beside her.”
He wanted to squeeze her. Hold her closer. Never let her go. Prove to himself that she was there and real and not going anywhere.
But he couldn't chance waking her. He couldn't chance ruining this moment. Clinging tight to her would never improve what he had in that instance.
So, he comforted himself with his legs tucked within the nook of hers, and his hand on her hip. That was enough. That grounded him. That was the proof he needed that she was there and he'd be alright for another day.
The sun flooded the room in a golden glow. Adrien didn't see it though. He kept his eyes closed, focused on the warmth of his wife beside him, and fell back asleep until the alarm rudely interrupted their quiet slice of paradise.

Part 206 of my bakery “enemies” au!
THE END!! I can't believe I finally completed this. When I first started this comic, I had no idea that it would end up being this long. A little over 3 years and over 200 parts, so around 2000 panels. (My folder that holds all my files relating to this comic is 3 GB with 2,017 items....). I honestly can't believe that I managed to stick around to the end of this. Thank you all so much for the support, I never imagined that so many people would care about this comic when I started it!
Of course, there are still some loose threads. The kwamis and Nathalie for example, but the core of this series has always been about the emotional conflict between Marinette and Adrien, and that has been resolved. I have some epilogue ideas to cover those loose ends, but this comic has already taken so much of my time and I'm not sure I want to promise that I'll get around to it. ... But who knows. Maybe!
For now, Adrien and Marinette will get some long-deserved rest.

"adrinette is my favorite side of the lovesquare" "i prefer ladynoir" "marichat is so cute" WRONG. the best dynamic is when they're detransformed hiding from each other on diff sides of walls/other barrier hiding them and communicating thru yelling at each other while recharging their kwamis

Where We Find Ourselves Again - Ch 5
PREVIEW:
Adrien hadn’t seen Bunnyx in twenty-three years. Yet, as she stood there in the middle of the storage room in their apartment, it was like it was yesterday. Probably because she hadn’t aged a day. Maybe twenty-three years ago for him was twenty-three minutes ago for her.
She grinned, fists on her hips, as she turned slowly, taking them all in – him, Marinette, Hugo, Plagg, Tikki, each gaping at her in amazement.
‘I can’t believe your note idea actually worked,’ said Plagg.
‘Amazing as ever!’ said Tikki.
Marinette stared at the phone in her hand – at the memo she’d just typed, the memo to remember to ask Bunnyx to visit them at this exact moment. ‘Wow,’ she breathed. ‘I really called you here?’
‘The miracles of time travel, am I right?’ Bunnyx’s eyes found Hugo, who stumbled backwards like he’d been shot by her gaze. ‘Oh wow, look at you! Practically a baby!’
Hugo paled. Probably wondering what kind of witchcraft this crazy woman in a bunny costume with a magical umbrella was wielding. ‘You…know me?’
‘Of course! An older you, anyway. Don’t worry – you’ll get to know me better, someday.’
‘I…okay….’
‘I can’t believe it,’ said Adrien. ‘You look…exactly as I remember you. But…you seem younger.’
‘Because you’re so much older. One of the quirks of time travel.’ She gave another broad grin.
He scratched his head. ‘Yeah, I guess…. I mean, the last time I was you, I was the same age as Hugo here.’
‘Whereas the last time I saw you was a few minutes ago.’
So he was right. ‘Am I allowed to know what we were doing?’
‘We were having dinner together. Then Marinette was scrolling through her phone for something and found this old memo she’d made ages ago and read it out. It said I had to come back to this exact date and time. We all laughed because you remembered this conversation we’re having now, and you – ’ She pointed at Adrien ‘ – suggested that I follow the instructions, to preserve the timeline and avoid paradox. Soooo…here I am!’ She splayed out her arms as if to say, Ta-da!
Adrien dragged his hand over his face. This time travel business really was exhausting.
‘This is why I stick to cheese,’ said Plagg. ‘Cheese isn’t nearly as complicated. Speaking of….’
Adrien waved a hand at him. ‘Yes, Plagg, you can go back to the kitchen.’
‘Finally.’ He zipped out of the room. Tikki frowned after him and remained by Marinette’s side.
Hugo took a tentative step forward, his face starting to regain some of its former colour. ‘So, you’re really from the…the future?’
Bunnyx scrunched up her nose in thought, then laughed. ‘I guess you could say that’s where I just came from…but I’m sort of outside the timestream, you know what I’m saying?’
He blinked at her.
She clapped him on the shoulder. ‘It’s okay, kid. Take it slow. Your dad here, though, must understand how easy it is to feel untethered in the time burrow. Spend enough time in there and – um, pardon the pun, Cat Boy.’
Adrien shook his head. ‘Not at all. I appreciate it.’
‘Of course you do. Well, as I was saying – spend enough time in the burrow and you give up all control over that dimension. You learn to flow, accepting that things go backwards as well as forwards and even happen simultaneously. Every reality overlaps and every possibility coexists. We can be all things at all times.’
She cast a look at Adrien, like she expected some response from him – some very specific response. Like she knew exactly what he was thinking. ‘You’re going to ask how this can be, if there’s a soul.’
‘Well –’
‘And I’m going to tell you anything’s possible if we’re infinite beings, both fragments of and the same as the All. Then you’ll ask what I mean by the All, and I’ll say that’s been debated since the dawn of mankind and even the power of time travel doesn’t help me get any closer to the answer, and you’ll give me that cute little frown you do when you’re totally flummoxed, and we’ll change the subject and have this same conversation another time. You can close your mouth, now.’
He hadn’t realised it was hanging open. He clamped it shut.
