365 Marvel Comics Paper Cut-Out SuperHeroes - One Hero, Every Day, All Year…
September 22nd - Jessica Jones
Jessica Campbell was born in Forest Hills, Queens, where she attended Midtown High School (and was classmates with Peter Parker).  Jessica and her family were on a road-trip vacation when they were involved in a terrible accident.  A van carrying strange radioactive chemicals crashed into the family’s car.  Only Jessica survived and the chemicals somehow caused her to develop superhuman powers.  These powers include incredible strength and durability as well as the capacity to fly.
After spending time in foster care, Jessica was adopted by Alias Jones and her husband; soon thereafter Jessica legally changed her last name to Jones.  Jessica kept her super powers a secret, growing more accustomed to by practicing in private.  After witnessing The Amazing Spider-Man battling The Sandman, Jessica decided that she should use her powers for good and became the super heroine known as ‘Jewel.’
In one of her earlier outings as Jewel, Jessica encounter the villain known as The Purple Man.  This cad possesses the ability to control minds.  He took a liking to Jessica and kept her like a pet, forcing her to use her powers to do his sinister bidding.  It was a terrible ordeal that lasted months and only ended once Jessica was ordered to attack The Avengers.   Not long thereafter, Jessica was sought out by Jean Grey of the X-Men.  Jean used her telepathic powers to fully free Jessica of The Purple Man’s influence and additionally made it so she could resist psychic control in the future.
Jessica was traumatized by her abuse at the hands of The Purple Man.  She retired from her brief time as a superhero, choosing instead to open up her own private investigation firm which she called ‘Alias Investigations.’  Her efforts to get away from the superhero sect proved difficult as many of her cases would have ties to super powered individuals.
Jessica was hired by Luke Cage to help him locate his estranged father.  Jessica and Luke ended up having an affair together.  She later became involved with Scott Lang and was hired by the Daily Bugle to ascertain the civilian identity of Spider-Man. Jessica ultimately refused to follow through on the assignment, but not before making good friends with Bugle reported, Ben Urich.  Jessica, Ben and Robbie Robertson would go on to found the investigative journalism magazine, The Pulse.
Later, The Purple Man resurfaced and tried to once more ensnare Jessica in his clutches.  Fortunately, the psychic barriers Jean Grey had implanted in Jessica enabled her to resist his powers and she beat the villain within an inch of his life.
No long thereafter, Jessica discovered she was pregnant as a result of her affair with Luke Cage.  She decided she wanted to keep the baby and she and Luke ended up getting married.  They had a daughter whom they named Danielle.
Jessica has primarily focused on raising her daughter, yet there have been multiple instances where she has found herself back in action.
Actress Krysten Ritter portrays the heroine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, debuting in the Netflix Series, Jessica Jones.
Jessica first appeared in the pages of Alias #1 (2001).

Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia said Sunday that it's a "mistake" for the White House to want Democrats to deal with the debt ceiling without negotiating with congressional Republicans.
"I think it's a mistake because we have to negotiate. This is a democracy that we have. We have a two-party system, if you will, and we should be able to talk and find out where our differences are. And if they are irreconcilable, then you have to move on from there and let people make their decisions," Manchin, a key Senate moderate, told CNN's Dana Bash on "State of the Union."
"Using the debt ceiling and holding it hostage hasn't worked in the past," Manchin continued, adding that he "respectfully" disagrees with his party's No. 2 Democrat in the chamber, Majority Whip Dick Durbin, on not negotiating with Republicans.
"Every American has to live within a budget. If they don't, they're in trouble financially. Every business that's successful has to live within a budget. Every state has to live within a budget. Shouldn't the federal government have some guardrails that, say, 'Hey, guys ... you're overreaching here and you're overspending?' But then pick your priorities. That's all," he added.
The US hit the debt ceiling set by Congress on Thursday, forcing the Treasury Department to start taking "extraordinary measures" to keep the government paying its bills and escalating pressure on Capitol Hill to avoid a catastrophic default.
The battle lines for the high-stakes fight have already been set. Hard-line Republicans, who have enormous sway in the House because of the party's slim majority, have demanded that lifting the borrowing cap be tied to spending reductions. Manchin suggested Sunday he was open to spending cuts.
The White House, however, has countered that it will not offer any concessions or negotiate on raising the debt ceiling. And with the solution to the debt ceiling drama squarely in lawmakers' hands, fears are growing that the partisan brinksmanship could result in the nation defaulting on its debt for the first time ever -- or come dangerously close to doing so.
GOP Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania said Sunday on Fox News that the White House position against negotiating with House Republicans on spending cuts, in exchange for raising the debt ceiling, is "very irresponsible." He said the first step in addressing the debt ceiling situation is for Speaker Kevin McCarthy to sit down with Biden.
Rep. Josh Gottheimer, a New Jersey Democrat, said in the same interview that he believes the White House will ultimately sit down with McCarthy, which he called "a good thing."
Fitzpatrick and Gottheimer are the co-chairs of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus in the House.
As to whether Social Security and Medicare should be part of these negotiations, Manchin shared his interest in wanting to create a committee that would make the two programs "more financially secure and stable." But he said no one who currently receives these benefits should receive any cuts.
"No cuts to anybody that's receiving their benefits, no adjustments to that. They've earned it. They paid into it. Take that off the table," Manchin said. "But everyone's using that as a leverage."
The Senator indicated he was open to raising the income cap for Social Security taxes.
"I'm open to basically raising -- the easiest and quickest thing we can do is raise the cap," he said.
Meanwhile, Manchin on Sunday also offered support for fellow Senate moderate Krysten Sinema, calling her a "formidable candidate" for reelection in 2024.
Sinema announced last month she was leaving the Democratic Party and registering as a political independent, fueling fresh interest from Arizona Democrats to challenge her next year.
"I would think that she needs to be supported again, yes, because she brings that independent spirit," Manchin said.

EVERYTHING WE KNOW ABOUT THE MCU PHASE 5 (SDCC)
Soo theres a lot to discuss, lets get going shall we
Idk if the Guardians christmas special is still happening/is canon/is a part of phase 5, finishing phase 4 on black panther makes a lot of sense but at the same time, starting the next phase with a special doesn't
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
This movie will see the main group of heroes travel into the quantum realm and battle Kang
We dont know if Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) and Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) are returning (please give us some news about ghost homegirl has been waiting for them to return from the quantum realm for 5 years)
Kang (Jonathan Majors) is set to appear and to have some very cold lines about fighting the avengers in other universes
"Have i killed you before?" that's an amazing line right there yup
Modok will appear, however his appearance will be more metallic rather than the human face he has in the comic probably to avoid an uncanny valley moment (*cough * strange's 3rd eye)
Cassie Lang (Cathryn Newton) will appear as stinger. Her relationship with Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) will be explored as they struggle to connect given that Scott didn't see her grow up. (Paul Rudd seems to have debunked the rumor that Scott will be rich and famous and that will make him loose touch with his daughter, however, the rumor that he published a book has been confirmed)
There are rumors that Scott will die in this movie (pls stop)
The director also teased some unexpected cameos, and said the movie will change the MCU as a whole
Secret Invasion
Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) is confirmed to return (slay) as well as Rhodey (big slay)
QUAKE (CHLOE FRICKING BENNET) is rumored to return (chloe liked some twitter posts about her being in secret invasion and she is rumored to have signed a contract with marvel)
The series is rumored to be a political espionnage thriller with the same vibes as The Winter Soldier
We dont know how much of the Kree-Skrull war we will get to see as the series will likely be mostly set on earth
Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.3
This film is 'the end of the guardians era' for James Gunn, its likely the last Guardians movie HOWEVER that doesnt mean they will all die and cant appear in future projects
Drax (Dave Bautista) is rumored to die however (hot take: i don't really care about him and i never found him that funny)
The movie will have the High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji) as one of its villains, and we will probably see how he experimented on Rocket Racoon (Bradley Cooper)
Baby Rocket is also there!!!!!
Adam Warlock (Will Poulter) will return and is rumored to have Goldenish skin
No trailer yet because the VFX isnt finished (that feels like a jab at the cgi quality hate the mcu is getting)
Gamora (Zoe Saldana) is rumored to join the ravagers and be as angsty as ever with Star-Lord (Chris Pratt)
Echo
This will be the first MCU-street level series (if you dont count Hawkeye because meh). It will likely be a setup of the mcu street level world so that they dont have to explain it in the Daredevil Series, i just hope the pacing will be ok and not just 6 hours of exposition about this reality
Echo (Alaqua Cox) will obviously return, but so will Daredevil, in his black suit (!!). It is very likely that Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) will also return, given that he was shot by echo in the Hawkeye finale.
Daredevil is rumored to be looking for an old ally, that is rumored to be my baby Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter, marvel if you recast her i sWEAR-)
Loki season 2
Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Sylvie (Sophia di Martino) will return and will be working at McDondald's (???) according to set photos (???)
Part of the show will be set in the seventies as a Bollywood poster featuring Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani) from that town is shown in set photos
Kang will probably appear given that he seems to have took over the TVA at the end of season 1
Mobius (Owen Wilson) will most likely be back
The Marvels
We will see light of my life Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) again
Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) will most likely appear, following his appearance in secret invasion
Part of the movie is rumored to be a musical (why) as the characters end up in a planet where everyone sings. Carol (Brie Larson) is rumored to be married to this planets' leader (queen?) in a very killing eve-esque way
A scene is rumored to be a ship containing Humans, Skrulls and Flurkens (space cats!!!) being attacked (likely by Krees) and the cats gettinf people to safety
We will likely see the Kree empire again
Blade
Oooh another fun project i dont really know what to expect but it will likely be a street-level movie.
Mahershala Ali is rumored to play Blade (big yes), this is his second Marvel role after playing Cottonmouth in Netflix's Luke Cage
Anthony Starr (Homelander from the Boys) is rumored to star as Dracula
Dane Whittman (Kit Harrington) will likely star as the Black Knight after the Eternals post-credit scene featured him with the black sword adn Blade's voice
We might get a Werewolf by night (Gael Garcia Bernal) cameo (if the Halloween special is still a thing) or even a Moon Knight (Oscar Isaac) one (please marvel let me see my emotional support Dilf again)
Ironheart
Nothing much is known about the project, other than it will be centered around Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), that will appear beforehand in Wakanda Forever
There is a rumor that Obadiah Stane's son will appear
The show might revolve around the stole stark tech mentioned in No Way Home
Agatha: Coven of Chaos
The series was renamed (previously titled house of Harkness), we will likely see other witches given the title
They might be teasing Wanda's return (please!!!!!!) as she is the only Chaos Magic wielder in the mcu
The curse Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) put on Agatha (Kathryn Hanh) will most likely be broken after Wanda's DeAtH in MoM
Maybe we get some more information on Ralf Bohner (Evan Peters) or smt because his character in WandaVision was pointless
MePhIsTo.. no but maybe Chton??? since they changed the title to include the world Chaos
Daredevil: Born Again
The series will be 18 episodes long and most likely TV-MA (pls marvel)
Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk will return, and so will Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) and Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) most likely
The Punisher is set to return
If the Echo rumors about Jessica Jones are true, she might appear here too
If were lucky we get all of the defenders or even Claire (Rosario Dawson)
It is unclear wether this series will be the fourth season of the original, however it will probably be a soft reboot (the og series still happened so they dont have to explain character motivations and stuff but it wont be referenced
Captain America: New World Order
SAM WILSON (ANTHONY MACKIE) IS CAP, STEVE IS EITHER DECOMPOSING OR ON DEATHBED STOP SAYING HE WILL RETURN AS CAP IT FEELS RACIALLY MOTIVATED
oh and also no bucky (Sebastian Stan) will not be the next cap
he will be in this film tho, most likely and people are speculating wether he will die (i would die with him)
the title is the same as the first episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
Isaiah Bradley (Carl Lumbly) and his nephew (Elijah Richardson) might return (pls), as well as John Walker (Wyatt Russell) and Zemo (Daniel Bruhl)
Idk why but i feel like this movie will setup the Thunderbolts, like maybe the government realize that a superhearo is more of a PR stunt that someone they cand send on possibly comprosmizing missions, which leads to the cration of this villain team
THUNDERBOLTS
Most likely we will get a tribute to William Hurt (Thaddeus Ross) given he passed away recently
Given that fact, Zemo will most likely be the leader of the team
This basically Marvel's suicide squad so i hope they manage to make the movie different enough
Valentina Allegra (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) will most likely be the one to put the team together and recruit agents.
Yelena (Florence Pugh), Bucky, Abomination (Tim Roth) and Ghost are all likely on the team
Especially ghost because i feel like they put her in Marvel Zombies out of nowhere to remind us of her existence since she wont have a major role in Quantumania
Some characters that are yet to be introduced will be in this movie

Nancy Pelosi’s 19-year long career in leading Congressional Democrats is on the verge of disaster, as she failed to eliminate prevailing distrust in democratic factions. For Pelosi, who is planning retirement after the current Congress, the passage of Biden’s agenda has emerged as a nightmare for the speaker. The speaker termed the social spending bill of Biden as the culmination of her career in Congress, the failure of which can cost Democrats their House and Senate majority in next year’s mid-term elections. [caption id="attachment_9544" align="aligncenter" width="1160"] Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin, combinly known as "Manchema" are the primary driver of Biden's economic agenda as they are striving not to let important bills passed from Congress.[/caption] Distrust Within Democrats is Hindering Biden’s Economic Agenda and Pelosi's Legacy The prevailing distrust among Democratic factions is more than ever today, and Republicans are happy about it. This lack of trust has successfully killed the economic agenda of the President up until now, and is likely to continue doing so in the future as well. The speaker, who pledged to pass the reconciliation and the infrastructure bill together by the end of September, is clueless now, which forced her to persuade progressives to vote for the infrastructure bill only. Despite Pelosi’s assurance that she will get the reconciliation bill passed, progressives are not ready to vote in favor of the infrastructure bill alone. All of this drama even attracted Biden to Capitol Hill, who rushed toward the legislature by canceling his trip to Chicago to bring the scattered factions together. However, even the President failed to mend the factions within his party. Both Pelosi and Biden are tilted a bit toward progressives, and they prefer to build their policies as per this caucus. However, the rigidity of Senate moderates, particularly Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema, known in combination as “Manchema,” blocked the overall agenda. [caption id="attachment_9547" align="aligncenter" width="992"] Speaker Nancy Pelosi is going through a crucial phase of her career where just one year before her retirement, her party leaders have become the victim of pervasive distrust.[/caption] Manchema’s Plan Will Never be Supported by Progressives Pelosi tried to pass at least one legislation from Congress then, which invoked Bernie Sanders, who successfully managed to lobby in the House through his power. He advised House progressives not to vote for the infrastructure bill alone, advice which House progressives obeyed religiously. Bernie Sanders has even scolded Machema for holding the Democratic agenda hostage, saying that the two senators should not be allowed to hinder the vision of 48 Senators and 210 House members. The speaker is in limbo, and so is Biden’s economic agenda. Now, the Democratic leadership has set an end of October deadline to pass the distinctive agenda on which Democrats are counting on right now. However, this is just the beginning of some bigger crises, as the internal divisions are only bound to escalate in the near future. The Democrats are now buying time and doing nothing at all to bridge this ideological gap among its factions. Joe Manchin is not ready to sign any social spending bill worth more than $1.5 trillion, and progressives are not accepting of it. This is a reduction of more than fifty percent of the planned spending, which is not aligned with the Democratic ideology. If progressives accept this measure, it would be political suicide for most of them as they wait for their elections next year. The same is the case with moderates. This troubled faction is already considered vulnerable among Democrats whose reelections are at risk. If Republicans manage to clinch the congressional majority, it would be at the expense of moderates seats. By halting Biden’s economic agenda, moderates are adding insult to injury for them, as they would have nothing to campaign on in their next elections.
However, both Manchin and Sinema will face reelection in 2024, which means that during his whole presidential tenure, Biden will have to face their resistance.   Final Thoughts Manchema’s envisioned $1.5 trillion reconciliation bill is not likely to be backed by progressives at all. Will Senate moderates and House progressives e establish a middle ground, or will Biden’s agenda be killed once again in October? Only time will tell.

Nothing isn’t an absence. Silence isn’t nothing. I told a woman I loved her, and she never talked to me again. I told my mama a man hurt me, and her hard silence told me to keep my story to myself. Nothing is full of something, a mass that grows where you cut at it.

How Her Spirit Got Out by Krysten Hill Aforementioned Productions  — $4.99 (PDF/epub/mobi) or $12.00 (Print) Poetry
Krysten Hill’s How Her Spirit Got Out is a lively, urgent song. Answering the writers whose voices raised her, Hill calls on Sylvia Plath, Audre Lorde, and Zora Neale Hurston to help her navigate the complicated landscape of selfhood. Hill’s speaker, wise and direct, open yet elusive, also sings for the women who brought her up: her aunt, her grandmother, and her mother. These spirits who’ve guided her life and taught her through example how black women persevere, have given her the means to bear witness to an age of racial violence. With intensity, audacity, and a darkly comic wit, Hill grapples with the question of how to fight “a city that knows you’re unarmed,” rendering each poem as a weapon and a shield, and using both for self-defense.

-Krysten Hill
Women in my family do not trust their dead to plots and cherry wood coffins. They play them on the inside of their eyes when they pray.
Projectors run their memories in blind, white light. Spirits fall out their mouths in scriptures. It’s hard to tell who’s speaking.
They keep them in glass jewelry boxes that stay locked on coffee tables. Frame photos of open caskets and call them Mother and Father. Wear their second sight to bed. Converse at 3am. Call this counsel.
What the women in my family do with the dead is their business. My aunt married a corpse who built coffins in my heart. Told me I didn’t want his dead man sadness. Sometimes, caught him, with white marble eyes he let me borrow from time to time.
The women in my family give the dead to their daughters. My mama gave me her dead mother’s name. I’ve drowned in her dresses, tried on her smile. My mama is looking for some stronger woman in my eyes.
I don’t tell her that Grandmother comes to me in dreams. Grants me time in the garden of my childhood. Collects fears that slip from my eyes. They’re withered peach pits when they fall into her waiting apron.
She shows me a place to bury them, near a dogwood where I buried my baby teeth. She promises they’ll come back as something I can eat, a fruit so plump it will feed me a lifetime. We stare at the disturbed earth and wait. I wake before the harvest, the squirm of trees rising in my stomach

Natasha and Hope kickboxing together. MJ and Shuri having a sleepover in their pjs watching Stranger Things and scarfing down pizza. Jessica Jones and Valkyrie getting wasted at some dive bar. Gimme all the headcanons!
