Dark Shadow was the first to notice their footwear, and they looked up at Akira curiously from between their and Tokoyami’s desks. “Why are you wearing house shoes?”

‘My left shoe got accidentally destroyed, so I needed something quick to wear.’

Tokoyami peeked over, feathers ruffling as he noticed the bandages. ‘What are those for, Reaper?’ he signed, eyes piercing and worried.

Akira sighed, ‘Eraser is aware. And maybe Mic?’ They thought for a moment, last night a bit hazy from sleep deprivation and pain. ‘I got burned by Wildfire in an avoidable situation that was my fault, and I got help when I needed it.’

Ida strode over, arm chopping. “Mori, it is in violation of the dress code to not wear proper shoes to school. You should change.”

Akira just rolled their eyes. ‘Engine Calf, I don’t have other shoes right now.’

Ida flushed and sputtered an apology before returning to his seat. Akira held back a sigh as a location ping came through from Dabi at their apartment: Danger.

After a visit to Recovery Girl to heal their leg the rest of the way and remove their bandages, Akira met Dark Banquet back in the classroom, only to find Shoto with them. They waved and carefully slid into their chair while trying not to jostle their leg much. ‘Blank, looks like I’ll be staying another night.’

Shinso just nodded, shoulders tense as the others looked between them.

Shoto spoke first, neutral expression taking a confused cast. “Is something wrong?”

Koda interpreted for Akira since Shoto was still pretty new, ‘My roommate has a difficult-to-control fire quirk, and there was an incident last night that was completely avoidable on my part. Can we not talk about it? I’m getting tired of explaining.’

Shoto blinked, more confusion filling his eyes, “What does that have to do with Shinso, though?”

‘When things were getting bad while my roommate and I adjusted to living together, I told Mad Banquet that I would leave if things got worse. Which they didn’t.’

“I heard when Recovery Girl came. Dad would only call her if things were hospital bad. Then I wake up to your leg still covered in second-degree burns and gaps in the bandaging. How the hell is that not worse?”

Akira winced, not sure how to respond for a while. ‘It would put you in too much danger to explain why-’

“Danger?” Shinso leapt to his feet. “You want to talk to us about danger. We survived USJ, the League could strike again any day, and you’re being burnt to a crisp by some asshole when you have a place to go! I’m not going to just stand by and watch you sacrifice yourself just because you hate limelight heroes. What could Pop possibly do that would be worse than what you’re going through right now?”

‘What he could do or what I think he’d do?’ Akira signed after a moment, trying not to pull away.

“What?” Shinso flinched back, continuing at Akira’s gesture. “Both? Either?”

Akira sighed, looking down at their food. They carefully pulled up their sound- and voice-based tormentors in their analysis hall, grateful for Dark Shadow’s velvety touch and vibrations as they started shaking from the rumbling pain of old memories. ‘Sound quirks are capable of far more destruction than most people realize. Beyond the intensity of the sound waves ripping apart cells, specific frequencies that people with enough training – like Mic – can produce are capable of far more damage when built up over time or pulsed. Specific nerve endings can be triggered to the nth degree, intense nausea and vomiting induced, seizures triggered, internal hemorrhaging, the list goes on. All of which I have personally experienced on multiple occasions at the hands of limelights.

What do I think he’ll do?’ Akira finally looked up, tired eyes meeting their friends’ shocked expressions. ‘I have no idea. I want to trust that he won’t do those things. He hasn’t shown any signs of that in class or with you, and he is married to Eraser. But… how do I know that won’t change the moment I decide to stay? The moment he finds out who my bio family is? After something I didn’t know would set him off?’

“But you trusted Fat Gum?” Shinso said weakly.

Akira laughed humorlessly. ‘Not with that much. He had enough prior knowledge and experience from his work that he figured out who I was with less than I’ve told you.’ After a moment, they added while barely moving their hands, ‘I almost ran when he said their name, and he’s a twilight.’

The rest of lunch passed in silence, Shoto contemplative while Akira tried to keep their head above the ocean of memories trying to drag them under. Every so often, phantom pains still shuddered through their body. As focused as they were on existing, they barely registered their friends’ worried glances.

By the end of the day, Akira was heavily leaning into their crutches while deflecting concerned looks from their teachers. They still met up with Kaminari and Tokoyami at the library with their lesson plans, using real-world examples and pictures to help Kaminari with math while giving him their texture ball to help them focus. For Tokoyami, they actively involved Dark Shadow in talking in English, encouraging the pair to work together on schoolwork since they were both aware most of the time during classes. Things still felt a little awkward from lunch, but both seemed content to focus on studying for now.

Kaminari’s grasp of English wasn’t good either, but he seemed to learn better if Akira let them hyperfocus for a while. After the first two hours, Akira asked Dark Shadow to vibrate at a certain frequency, and sure enough, after a few moments, Kaminari looked around confused.

“Do you want to start on English now or keep going on math?” Akira passed them a note.

“I thought I was doing math for the first half?”

“Kaminari, it’s been two hours,” Tokoyami said concerned.

Motioning for Tokoyami to interpret, Akira signed, ‘I think you were hyper-focusing. It’s one of the signs of neurodivergence.’

“Oh, uh yeah,” Kaminari blushed, rubbing the back of his neck. “I have ADHD. If that’s a problem, I can go…” they started to stand up.

Akira quickly shook their head, blinking rapidly as their head pounded. ‘No, that’s not what I meant. I thought you might after doing some research on your learning style and habits yesterday, so I made lesson plans based on what I could find. Does the school know? There are some accommodations you can get that might help.’

Eyes wide, Kaminari shook his head to Akira and Tokoyami’s confusion. “No! I can do it, just need to focus more.”

Glancing at Tokoyami, Akira signed, ‘I have accommodations for my chronic pain and quirk drawback. Does that make me any less of a hero student?’

“No…”

‘Then why would accommodations for your brain being wired differently make you any less of one?’ After a moment, Akira motioned for them to sit back down. ‘Let me know if something wouldn’t be helpful…’

The trio continued studying for two more hours before Aizawa strolled in, and Akira started packing up and reminded Kaminari to ask about an IEP conveniently as Aizawa walked into hearing range but before he was noticed by the others.

“What were you talking with Kaminari about?” Aizawa asked as they walked to his car, Yamada and Hitoshi already waiting.

‘He has ADHD but is worried about getting help. I was reading about ways to help them yesterday when his behaviors lined up in my research, and they should qualify for some accommodations like a different question format and more time to take tests.’

Aizawa’s eyebrows raised, “That’s dedicated for a study group. I’ll talk with Inui to see how we can best approach the conversation. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.”

As they headed to presumably a mall, Akira made a group chat with Bakugo and Kirishima.

Reaper: I’m worried about Kaminari.

Murdergod: why?

Redhot: yeah, is something wrong?

Reaper: he’s more insecure than I thought

And I already thought they were faking

Pretty sure he doesn’t think they belong in 1-A

Murdergod: the fuck?

Redhot: we’ll talk to him, thanks

Murdergod: get back to studying, nerds

‘You should tell Pop,’ Shinso signed.

Akira winced and stared at them. ‘Like hell I will. I’m not taking that risk.’ At his returning stare, they huffed. ‘Besides, he already knows I’m even more uncomfortable around the other teachers.’

When they arrived at the mall, Akira tried not to stare at the sheer number of options. They were quickly pulled along by Shinso as Yamada pointed out what stores had different clothing and shoe options. At Akira’s simple request for dark durable shoes, Aizawa led them to a store that, judging by the muted colors he mostly wore out of costume, was where he primarily shopped. It focused on visual kei and dark to neutral clothing in general. Akira grabbed a pair of black combat boots and loose, dark grey cargo shorts. Turning around, they took in Yamada holding up a black peplum three-quarters jacket with a few metallic accents. Akira’s eyes lit up, but they bit their lip as they thought through their budget.

“Do you want to try it on, little listener?” Yamada asked with a grin.

‘I don’t have enough in my budget for all three, and I need these.’

Yamada frowned in confusion and motioned Aizawa over with a glance. “Sorry if we weren’t clear enough last night, little listener, but Shouta and I are paying, not you.”

Akira cocked their head, ‘But I’ll pay you back, right? That’s usually how this works.’

Yamada shook his head, “No, we don’t want anything in return. It’s enough to see you express yourself.”

What? There’s always some kind of catch. Akira tried to puzzle through what they could’ve possibly done to front a favor in exchange for this.

“I can see your wheels turning, kid. What’s on your mind?” Aizawa crouched in front of them, eyes searching but kind as Yamada looked on from behind.

‘If it’s a favor exchange, I can’t think of what I’ve done to pay forward, and I’d rather know now what kind of favor is expected,’ Akira signed after a moment.

Understanding sparking in his eyes, Aizawa asked, “Would you be more comfortable if we asked for something in exchange for buying you things?”

‘Yes,’ Akira signed instantly.

“Alright… stay with us through final exams.”

Akira waited a beat for him to continue before looking even more confused. ‘That’s it?’ At his nod, their eyes narrowed. ‘And my job?’

Aizawa sighed, “I don’t suppose we could just give you what you’d earn on those nights? Alright, but if you’re injured, come to us. Understood?”

Akira nodded and hesitantly accepted the jacket from Yamada. Looking in the mirror, a small smile slipped on their face. Turning back, they let Yamada pick out a few shirts and another pair of pants, hesitantly drawing the line at a pair covered in belts and zippers. The blonde just shrugged and put it back, and as they checked out, Akira wondered if this was others’ normal.

Akira was surprised by the small personal touches in the guest room from the black and gold color scheme to Latin books on the small bookshelf to a couple Fat Gum posters on the walls. Akira set their bag down off the soft, dark purple rug covering most of the floor and started sweeping the room for bugs. As they finished, they heard Aizawa walk up to the open door. Carefully replacing the books, Akira turned to face him.

“The only cameras we have are exterior and hand-held. Same for audio recorders. You’re welcome to read any book in the house if you have trouble sleeping. Do you need anything?”

Akira shook their head. ‘Thank you, and no, this is… wonderful.’ Akira sat on the bed, pulling a cat plushie that looked like Bastard onto their lap. There were a few others on the bed of varying sizes and shapes, Bastard about the size of the real cat.

“Good.” Aizawa went to leave before adding, “The grey blanket on the nightstand is weighted. Feel free to grab more blankets from the linen closet by the bathroom if you want more.”

Akira did try to sleep on the bed for an hour before giving up. They slid the pile of blankets onto the floor, arranged them in a nest, and pulled the weighted blanket off the nightstand. Just as they were about to doze off, they got a location request from Dabi. After a moment, they rejected it with the attached message “safe.”

welp I can add fashion to the list of things I wasn’t expecting to research for this fic lol I knew the aesthetic I was picturing wasn’t quite goth, but I didn’t find what it was until I found visual kei, a Japanese fashion subculture. Also!! I just finished Libertias aut Mortis today :D sent it off for Moss Nightwing to sensitivity read, but it'll probably take a month or two given how dark it is and what it covers (usually faer turnaorund is faster, but it's a lot and fae's going through a lot right now). Bello Licentiae is shorter than Mortem ad Wrens, so I'll post every other day for that one to catch y'all up with hopefully not much downtime between that wrapping up and posting Libertias aut Mortis.

Shoto Todoroki X Denki Kaminari - My Hero Academia

CW: minor swearing?? Shoto isn’t much of a curser, but I feel like Denki does on occasion. Not as much as Bakugo, that’s for sure

A/N: I’m literally so in love w this ship, out of all the mainstream ones, they’d probably be the healthiest bc they’re both an equal amount of stupid lmfao

Denki groaned, his brain feeling buzzed after a long day of training. He envied his classmates, they all had such good handles on their Quirk, even Midoriya, who had started off the worst of them all, had climbed up the ranks of Strongest in Class 1-A in mere months.

Denki’s Quirk was powerful, no doubt about it, but good god! Being handicapped within moments for using your Quirk once?! How pathetic was that?

Not only did it risk his life, but it risked the life of others. Denki hated it. At times like this, when he felt weak, he wished he was just Quirkless, even though he knows how hard it is as a Quirkless person in today’s society. Midoriya had rambled on about his hardships about being a late bloomer who was presumed Quirkless for his entire life. Denki felt bad for him, he knows how it feels to be so vulnerable and helpless in dire situations.

Denki placed a hand on his head, feeling numb as the side effects of overworking himself settled in. He tried to shake it off, quite literally, by moving his head side to side, but he only felt nauseous afterwards. How did Todoroki and Bakugo do it? Their Quirks were just as dangerous, yet they were much more skilled.

Denki had tried going to Bakugo for help; but, as usual, his angry and violent classmate snapped at him for ‘being so goddamn useless’, which didn’t help his dilemma whatsoever.

So, he went to the next person! Shoto Todoroki.

“You want my help?” Asked the soft spoken boy. Denki nodded, sheepish. “Yeah, I tried Bakugo, but he just got mean.” He murmured, rubbing the back of his neck. He leaned against Yaoyorozu’s desk, she was currently chatting with Jirou across the room, so no harm was being done. Denki looked at the much kinder and gentler classmate expectantly. “Whaddya say?”

Todoroki hesitated, “are you sure? Midoriya’s a lot better at explaining things than I am.” He murmured, Denki smiled cooly, “yeah! Your Quirk seems really hard to manage, so learning from someone with a Quirk like mine would help more.” He replied, padding the toe of his shoes to the floor as Todoroki sat in silence, thinking it over.

Denki felt nervous, his cool demeanor faltering slightly. “If you don’t have time, it’s fine.” He dismissed, getting up to head to his desk. “No, it’s not that. I’ll help you.”

A breath of relief rushed out of Denki’s mouth, hand clutching his chest. “Thanks, Todoroki. You’re the best.” He held his fist out to Todoroki, nodding at him until Todoroki cautiously bumped it, blinking inquisitively. Maybe someone as outgoing as Kaminari would be beneficial for Shoto’s growth as a person. This exchange could help both of them in their respective issues.

The two of them stood out on the training ground, both dressed in their gym uniforms.

“Controlling my fire is where I have the most trouble, I’m still not fully used to it, so I’ll help you with how I control my ice. Does that make sense?” Todoroki looked at Denki, his heterochromatic eyes were lost and confused with this, but he was being kind enough to help Denki. He was grateful, and nodded. “Emit a low amount of electricity, and we’ll start from there.”

Denki exerted electricity from his body, making Todoroki flinch slightly, marveling at the sight. “Try focusing on aiming it over there, like this.” Todoroki, with one swift flick of the wrist, motioned forward, a spike of ice peaking outward in a controlled fashion.

Distracted by the sight, Denki faltered slightly and accidentally aimed for Todoroki. Catching on, the boy swerved out of the way, Denki’s stream of electricity hurdling towards the ice, causing chunks to fall and shatter.

Todoroki hummed, walking over to Denki. Being used to Bakugo’s outbursts and Jirou’s harsh teasing, Denki instinctively averted his gaze in embarrassment. Todoroki, without warning, moved Denki’s position, folding his arms neatly in front of him and adjusting his legs. “Try it again.”

“What if I hit you?” Fretted the blonde, Todoroki gave him a small smile. “You won’t. Even if you do, I know you don’t mean anything harmful.” He shook his head. Denki relaxed, emitting his Quirk once more and shooting out a small stream, bursting apart once it hit a certain distance. “Very good.” Todoroki commended.

Denki smiled, looking relieved to hear such praise from someone he respected. “You’re a fast learner, Kaminari.” Added the boy, nodding his head. “I’m not used to positive feedback.” Denki admitted awkwardly.

Todoroki rose his brows, “that probably explains why you’re struggling more often, then. The others fail to encourage you to do better.”

“Especially Bakugo.” Denki muttered, face scrunched up with annoyance. “Bakugo yells at anyone who will listen, it’s best to just tune him out and focus on yourself.” Todoroki stated, placing a hand on Denki’s shoulder. Denki nodded along, brightening up. “You’re right, thanks.”

Todoroki was stunned, face flushing slightly. “Let’s go about it again.” He murmured, Denki, none the wiser, didn’t question him and tried it again.

The following weeks, Denki would sprint up to Todoroki, asking for advice or questions on numerous things evading from Quirk training. Things like, what TV show he should start, if he should start playing a new Pokémon game, if he did the homework Aizawa assigned, or if Todoroki can help him study.

“Hey!” Denki ran over to Todoroki and Midoriya. Midoriya was used to it, but the way Todoroki’s expression changed to a much softer and relaxed was confusing, his friend had rarely showed any emotion, so seeing this was off-putting. In a good way, or course!

“Should I start using my Quirk throughout the night? Like charging my phone myself, or no because I might overwork myself?” Denki didn’t notice Midoriya’s presence, beelining straight to his new mentor. “Maybe at two hour intervals so you don’t risk harming yourself. Constantly exerting your Quirk could be detrimental.” He answered.

Denki hesitated, thinking back to their study session before nodding. “Detrimental means… dangerous, right?” He asked, Todoroki nodded with a soft smile. “Yes. It does. Nice memory.”

The blonde smiled, turning to walk away until he realized Midoriya was beside him. “Oh… hey, Midoriya.” He murmured, brows furrowed as if the male had suddenly appeared. “Hey, Kaminari.” Waved the other, watching as he walked away before making eye contact with his friend. Todoroki, as usual, didn’t understand the look in Midoriya’s eyes.

“Is something wrong?” He asked with concern. “No, no, it’s just. You and Kaminari have gotten… awfully close.” Midoriya mentioned with a swift dismissal. Todoroki nodded, “he’s improving a lot.” He said, former blank expression now shifting to the one he used when in direct contact with Denki.

Midoriya nodded skeptically. “And it’s all thanks to you? I thought he’d go to Kacchan?” He tilted his head inquisitively, Todoroki hummed, staring after the bustling blonde. “If Kirishima’s tolerance for Bakugo is any indication, he’s not a good fit for Kaminari. He’s too impatient. Bakugo, that is.”

“Oh, don’t worry, I know how Kacchan is.” Midoriya sheepishly replied, awkwardly laughing. “Do you… like him?” He slowly questioned.

Todoroki rose a brow, “yeah? We’re friends.”

Midoriya internally face-palmed. He should’ve worded it differently, but that would risk making him uncomfortable, so he just merely laughed in response with a nod. “Yeah, I guess you are.”

as you can see, selfship commissions are a weakness of mine. poly bakukami is the also one of the biggest weaknesses of mine tbh. the amazing @mypillowpaper is one of my favourite artists to commission. she’s very professional, kind, and bursting with great ideas which she’s so willing to share! and just look at the happiness this piece exudes. the vibes!! i can feel it thru the screen. ik bkg looks kinda annoyed but he loves us, really. in certain AUs sometimes i also like my bkg shorter than denki, who i headcanon has a late growth spurt, much to the shock (and annoyance) of his friends.

1-A as adult pro heroes headcanons

I feel like momo would be the first to have a kid, she'd rescue a mom with her baby and be like "oh... that's... I want one" and then she'd adopt a baby. She'd be so scared though because she's organized and has her shit together, she's rich, she's smart, she can create what she can't buy so she can literally give this baby everything it needs. She would love this baby endlessly but she'd be so scared because "it's so tiny Sho, what if I hurt it?" and then Shoto talks to Midoriya and Mido talks to Kacchan and Bakugo talks to his squad and one day Mina and Kaminari just pop up at Momo's like "HEY WE WANNA SEE THE BABY" and Momo is reluctant because this is her class' dumbasses. Mina creates ACID. Kaminari shorts out entire buildings when he sneezes. But they're so careful. They're very careful, but they're still playing with baby, no fear or caution in sight and Momo freaks out for half the day because "wait what if that hurts it?" and by the end of the day she sees baby is fine and it also sleeps through the night for the first time since it was adopted, and so does Momo. Seeing Kaminari and Mina interact with this tiny human being like it's not fragile glass and it being OKAY afterwards quelled all her fears. Now they're favorite aunt and uncle and they babysit whenever Momo has a long mission.

#Tsu and Ochaco are the second ones to have kids #They have 4 #Tsu raised her siblings she's REALLY GOOD with their kids #Ochaco spoils them rotten #Kaminari may be good with Momo's kid but much like myself I think he'd be scared about his adhd causing him to mess up his kid #He doesn't have his own because of it but he has a lot of fish and cats and he loves the irony of it #Shinsou spends a lot more time at Kaminari's because of this than his own home #Midoriya #Despite common conceptions #Does not have kids #And he doesn't want them either #Mostly because he already has Eri-Chan and Kota and stuff #But also because despite common conceptions he is very aware of his dangerous self-destructive tendencies and he doesn't want to put a kid #Through that #Bakugo could go either way tbh #But I personally feel like he'll just have 6 very large very loud very expensive dogs and each time one dies he'll get an identical new one #And give it the same name #A lá roach with Geralt #And he mourns the ones he loses and they're not the same dog #in his mind he calls them Missy #Then Missy II #Then Missy III #Etc. Because they're all seperate dogs to him and they're all equally important but they're good dogs and good names so why change anything #None of the other 1A kids have kids but they all have several pets that they introduce to Aizawa as his grandchildren #Aizawa loves them all and memorized all their birthdays

- Kaminari, Midoriya, Kirishima, Sero and Hagakure have ADHD

- Kirishima is a gay transman (started transitioning in middle school)

- Midnight is a wlw transwoman

- Shirakumo was pansexual and used he/they pronouns

- Kaminari has lightning scars and does his best to hide them (they're mostly in his back, chest and arms)

- Bakugou genuinely has anger issues and is in the process of getting diagnosed

- Ojiro, Yaoyorozu and Hagakure have body dysmorphia

- Jirou, Bakugou and Present Mic are all either HoH or fully deaf (i.e.: Present Mic has hearing aids and Bakugou needs them as well)

- Uraraka has an anxiety disorder (GAD, likely)

- Iida has restless leg syndrome

- Kaminari gets seizures when he overuses his quirk

- Shinsou, Uraraka, Jirou and Kaminari deal with migraines often

- Shoji and Midoriya have chronic pains

- Mineta got fucking expelled.

- he got his ass beat by like half of the class for the shit he was doing to the girls and some crap he said to Kirishima (who's openly trans)

- Iida made a groupchat for class 1a for "school purposes" but it quickly descended into madness and he gave up

- the gc is now named something incoherent and incomprehensible and there's like seven other chats for different purposes (such as "dekusquad", "bakusquad", "the band" and "is this fucked up or are all parents like this?")

- Iida and Yaoyorozu keep note of everyone's allergies

- so does Aizawa

- Yaoyorozu has a bad relationship with food and often has trouble using her quirk due to it

- Tetsutetsu is a stealth transman (only Kirishima is vaguely aware)

- Kuroiro was extremely afraid of the dark as a child

- Ashido gets acid burns often (they're not too bad and mostly in her hands, but if it's a particularly bad day, she gets burns in her face)

- Kirishima has trouble walking/moving in general when he overuses his quirk

- Present Mic is mlm

- Aizawa is a gay transman

- Jirou and Kaminari are both bisexual

Ah. Easy: He is a biased teacher who refuses to move past because he's stubborn.

I wrote a new short yesterday (which I don't know if I'll post) where it's revealed like in my other fic, Aizawa never got around to reading the files due to his injuries. He forgets about it with the chaos going on, and ends up relying on his thoughts. And he's a good hero so some are spot on. But his biases hold him.

Bakugou, a boy who yells, gets angry a lot and who has a troubling relationship with another student who has a 'classic' heroic Quirk. Bully and victim, but Aizawa gets it wrong who is who. Then he thinks it's Izuku was innocently insensitvie to Bakugou who got mad, and keeps trying to get Izuku to apologize.

He never read the files and assumed no one wanted to go into underground heroics, thus focusing on training Shinsou. Meanwhile Ashido who wants to, as does Shouji, Tokoyami, Kouda and Ojiro watches him train someone else.

The class slowly begins to lose respect. The kids closest to Izuku, who figure out the truth of Bakugou, hate he doesn't see how Bakugou is the one in the wrong. The kids who want to go underground get mad to, and complain. The class begins to slowly distrust Aizawa. They trust him as a hero, they trust he will fight for them. They don't think he's a good teacher.

Then one day, it happens. Shinsou, in the class to see if he fits, hears them talk about how Aizawa never offered them training despite having it on their files they want to go underground. He asks Aizawa, and is confused when Aizawa says no one wanted to.

This is how Aizawa realizes he fucked up. Shinsou points out what he heard and Aizawa realized he hadn't actually looked at the files. He looks and suddenly pieces are falling together he never considered and oh shit, Kaminari has ADHD? Ashido wants to go underground? There is a lot of comments on Izuku's files but fuck look at that Quirk activation date.

Aizawa realizes much to late what happened. And explaining it only gets scorn. What kind of teacher doesn't read the files before the school year? It's illogical.

And Aizawa has to admit... they're right.

I dont think I have! Here are a few head canons that are practically canon to me:

Kaminari has ADHD and speaks English as well as a native speaker

Bakugou is hearing impaired and has low sensitivity in his hands due to his quirk

Jirou and Koda are really good friends! When they hang out together, Jirou pretty exclusively uses jsl

The league is a found family. Yes its mildly canon since we know they do care for each other and some members have familial roles, however I'm talking full-on "eat dinner at the kitchen table together every night" type of family (and dont forget about game night!)

Tokoyami keeps bonsai trees. This is a really weirdly simple head canon but Ive had it since pretty much the first time I saw him

Aizawa has a lot of cat mannerisms, and Present Mic has a lot of bird mannerisms. It also affects how those close to them talk about them (for example youd be more likely to hear "x ruffled Mic's feathers" as opposed to "x upset/frustrated/annoyed him")

Jirou and Momo are dating. I honestly thought this Was canon for awhile

Kaminari is very good at Rubik’s cubes. Like can solve in 10 seconds good, only a 3x3 cube tho.

It all started when someone from class B brought one over during a hangout with both classes. Everyone was taking a turn to solve it but without success.

Kaminari comes by and grabs it. Everyone is like ‘wth you can’t do it’

He takes one good look and then boom, done. Jaws are on the floor.

Kaminari chuckles then scrambles it and hands it back.

Someone gives him a 4x4 which takes him a minute. Everyone is amazed.

Characters with wasted potential : kaminari Denki

I have never seen a series treat it's own electric/thunder user so badly like MHA does with denki kaminari.

Here is the thing kaminari is a pretty cool character; I like his character design and I think his character arc is alright but can use a lot of change.

In all honesty when it comes to kaminari I feel like his arc is literally supposed to be the same as mineta. Both of their arcs focusing on how they treat woman, them being cowards but growing out of it and learning how to be proper heros. However, when it comes to developments kaminari has his speed runned or just has him instantly change.

1) This is controversial but I personally would use have him be contrasted/foiled to mineta just to make his development more impactful.

2) I would have him show more of his cowardice and how he only really wanted to be a hero because its a cool thing to do or to follow in the footsteps of his mother (I would have pro hero Electra or just a simple electrician be his mother)

3) I would build up his friendship with jirou from the beginning and have both of them develop into better people/heroes with that friendship. (Maybe they can become a ship considering I do ship kamijirou 🤷‍♀️)

4) Emphasise the struggle kaminari has with his quirk (how quick he is to go overboard due to the lack of control) and how he tries to work to overcome it in his own unique way. I would have it so that his mum already helped him a bit by teaching him how to use his quirk in little amounts and big amounts but he struggles to get it into a medium range. I would also have him just experiment with it overall and maybe he could build a little friendship with Izuku or even mei who could introduce ideas like denki being able to act as a circuit, use tasers or even charge phones.

5) As kaminari gets to understand and become a better friend with jirou his views on mineta start to change and his whole views of "I have to go easy one girls" or " it's mean to fight girls like that" (something he said to bakugo during the sports festival) start to change as he grows respectful and becomes more appreciative to woman.

6) this is a 50/50 but I saw this one fic that said it would be cool if kaminari just started using flirting as a fighting tactic to fluster villains and easily take them down. That's something I kind of like and would be interesting to have incorporated into kaminari's character. You could have him work with midnight to build up a skill like that (would make midnight's death more impactful)

7) I feel like as it comes to the war arc his cowardice should logically still be there but the desire to help protect his friends and reunite with them should be stronger and we would still get the whole epic scene he had in the first war arc

8) have him canonically have ADHD it makes sense. I mean this is a universe just like ours the only thing different is superpowers and idk if I read his character wrong but to me kaminari has always given me the whole idea that he has ADHD or that his character is 'ADHD coded'. In my opinion it would be interesting for him to not really know why he struggles at doing something that everyone can find easy to do so when it comes to his grades he struggles in that aspect and has conflict because of that however, he can go through an arc realising that he has ADHD and find ways to both accept that and adapt to it (I don't know if that sounds rude, Iam sorry if it does)

9) I really like denki and jirou bonding over music and him actually respecting and liking her passion. I feel like we should get more of denki making music and exploring his more of his own passions. Like we know denki likes music and manga so why don't we have characters casually talking about that or doing that with him. I also like the idea of denki simplifying everything (like the UA security system) and making it seem like something that would come out of manga so he can understand it better

I feel like that kaminari could of been an interesting character with flawed views that end up developing. Ultimately, I feel like the reason I prefer him to mineta (even though they both act in a very disgusting Mannar towards woman) is that he shows chances of change and his character isn't just being a weird, disgusting pervert like mineta's is. To me kaminari could of been a coward kid who found it difficult to really fit in and do the things that everyone does but ultimately ends up overcoming that struggle while expanding his views and becoming a more respectful person.

"Denki Kaminari. Get down from there. Now." You demand, glaring up at Denki who was sat atop the fridge, grinning down at you.

"But I don't wanna do the dishes.. or the laundry." He pouted, throwing the chocalate kiss that he found at you, aiming for your arm but hitting your thigh instead.

"Denki, you need to help. Last time we cleaned all you did was play with Yuto, making an even bigger mess." You frown, trying not to giggle as Denki cooed at Yuto- who he brought onto your fridge.

"But- playing with Yuto is important- and up here we won't even make a mess!"

"Denki.. baby. What if you accidently drop Yuto? I may have a heartattack, and you most likely wouldn't survive my wrath."

"I won't drop our son y/n/n. Have some faith in your partner of eight years."

"Denki... we've only been married for three years."

"Yes! But we've been together for eight!"

"I-"

"That's what I thought~!"

"Okay okay- but still. It's not that I don't trust you, it's that I don't trust your adhd brain, my Love."

"But c'mon! When has my adhd ever hurt our Yuto?! Never!"

"That's true.. but Denki, please. I'm not comfortable with our two year old on top of the fridge."

"Is it really making you that uncomfortable Love?"

"Yes it is. Please can you get him down?"

"For my queen? I'd do anything." Denki vowed, gently handing you Yuto before jumping off himself.

"Anything?"

"Anything!"

"Well.. if you love me that much... could you do the dishes and the laundry? And the vaccuming, dusting, organizing Yuto's play room, wash the windows, the car, and make dinner? I could really use a day off- and if I remember correctly you have work off for three days."

Denki's face paled at your seemingly endless to-do list, instincts telling him to take Yuto and bolt to Mcdonalds. But, he loves you. A lot. And you did look like you needed a break. Your hair was messily tied up in a bun and you had dark rings under your eyes. You worked hard to raise Yuto and care for the mansion Denki had provided for the two of you. And he did have a few days off, plus he's already rested.

"Okay Love, let me take Yuto and give me a list and I'll get at least most of it done. You do look like you need a break."

You sighed in relief at your husband's kindness, it was truly one of the reasons why you loved his so much. Even though he acted childishly and goofed off a lot, he was more mature then he looked, and cared for his loved ones immensely, and would do anything for them.

Including the dishes.

Present Mic headcanons! he lives in my head :D (edited as of Nov. 2023)

He's powerfully homosexual he loves men SO much.

He's demiromantic! He's only ever been in love with Oboro and Shouta

He's so fucking tall. And he wears platforms. And his hair is. It's his hair

So many freckles. He has red head skin, pale with so many freckles

Part American on his mother's side, his parents are divorced and the mom lives in the US

Heterochromia Mic my beloved. One green eye one red eye, they're so damn bright too. He makes heterochromia jokes with Shouto.

Fashion wise, he's a very strange mix between a punk, an English teacher (as in, language teacher, not literature teacher) and this one guy who's shirtless and wearing rainbow makeup and glitter at Pride.

He's so blind without his glasses, it's terrible. He's also deaf because of his quirk

For these reasons, he uses his platform as a popular hero and radio personality to talk about disabled people and stuff. He also talks about queerphobia issues and quirk discrimination, though he tends to focus more on blatant differences like Shouji or Tokoyami type of quirk.

When the main kids are in third year, they start being surprise guests on his show and talk about other issues with him (and just fun stuff as well). The first one to participate is of course, hero nerd Midoriya.

Hizashi and Shouta have what the experts call a weird ass relationship. For the longest time, they just lived together without really dating but being completely aware they were in love with each other. One day Shouta told Hizashi it would be easier if they were married for like tax purposes and stuff. So everyone thought they were getting married platonically but they organized a wedding and stuff. Midnight was the maid of honor and Shouta's cat was the best man (his name is Bastard). A couple of heroes they're friends with and trust were invited (Tensei, Yagi - though Shouta was reluctant - 13...) as well as some vigilantes Shouta's friends with, and after a lot of begging, 1-A students (they had to sign a contract that said they couldn't tell anyone about the wedding or take pictures). It was cheesy as possible, completely normal wedding, but after it happened, Shouta and Hizashi never acknowledged it again. Kaminari is wondering if he hallucinated them kissing and slow-dancing together. They also kept the same last name. The only thing that changed is that they're more affectionate in private, and that they call each other their husband.

An Hizashi themed clickbait article would probably be "PRESENT MIC'S HUSBAND'S IDENTITY REVEALED????"

Hizashi sometimes says he has a husband in passing and everyone clinged onto this fact and is desperately trying to find out who the husband is. Midoriya is incredibly happy to know he has hero knowledge only a few select people are aware of.

Going back to Hizashi specific stuff, the man has some powerful ADHD (Shouta is autistic, they're the ADHD autism couple) but he very strangely knows how to deal with it. He knows how he functions so he does really weird stuff sometimes or does things in an allegedly inefficient way because it'll ultimately will make him do more stuff

He also has the new hobby every month disease, except he actually learns a lot and his hobbies kind of rotate, so he's very good at very random stuff. For exemple : embroidery (but he can't sew for shit), a shit ton of instruments (but not the drums), he knows a lot about cats (this fixation was started by Shouta's own special interest in cats), he knows how color theory works (somehow), he's very good at cutting or dying hair, etc.

In high school he had to make an essay about quirk laws but he was uninspired so he desperately tried for a week to make himself fixate on quirk laws, finally writing his essay five hours before the deadline. The consequence of this was an hyperfixation on quirk and hero laws a month later, which plagued him for an entire month more. He therefore knows a lot about laws.

He had an emo phase in middle school. I know it, Horikoshi told me

Hizashi becomes incredibly irritable when it's raining or storming, similar to how Shouta becomes quiet and distant in that weather.

He has a lot of piercings but only where people can't see. Where that ends up being is your choice, I have my own ideas :)

He actually has anger issues, similar to Bakugou, but is way better at handling them. This, in addition to them both being deaf/partially deaf, should have made them somewhat close, but Hizashi actually really dislikes Bakugou.

He has favorites, and unlike Shouta, he very much says who his favorites are. (Uraraka, Kaminari, Shinsou, Jirou and Kouda. He also likes Todoroki but not as much as the other faves) He definitely gets merch of them once it's available (and creates Shinsou merch for him and Shouta, like how he made Eraserhead merch)

Because this is still my blog here's a point about Shimsou, my son the light of my world : Hizashi takes a liking to the kid immediately because of how much he looks like Shouta. He also likes his sarcasm and smartass attitude, he thinks it's adorable (which Shinsou evidently hates). While Shouta won't adopt Shinsou, they're still like father and son to each other, and Shinsou jokes by calling Hizashi his step-dad.

He's very protective of his friends and very good at noticing when something is bothering them.

HE CAN UNHINGE HIS JAW. His fans find it very hot (it's me, I'm his fans)

Everytime he tries to dress up nicely, he fails miserably (case on point : this). He's infamous for it.

He doesn't especially like small children, except for ONE small child and it's Eri. She's the light of his life he loves her so much.

After Shouta adopts her and Hizashi gets custody of her as well by default, he immediately starts researching how to be a good step-dad. Eri will for some reason start calling him her uncle, despite him being married to her dad, but Hizashi is fine with it, he loves just being a part of the little girl's life.

He's a KING at Just Dance and karaoke nights.

My hand is, for some mysterious reason, itchy. So this is the end of the post :D
