*Video call comes in

Clark: Hi bruce

Bruce: Clark….

Clark: Yeah (shuffling around cause he just got home)

Bruce: Take a good look at your baby. (he's holding baby a fussing baby john)

And then Clark freezes what he's doing and lifts the baby out of the björn to get a good look at him. And he's just met with happy green eyes.

Clark: Hi Damian🙂. (Turns to camera) I was wondering why he was so quiet.

Do you ever think about Martha and John Kent and how happy they were to have a son? Like this was a couple who tried for years to have a baby and to extend their little family. At some point they probably, planned and dreamed, of having a big family with a bunch of kids. And at some point they had to realize that dream would never be theirs.

So to find Clark and get to love him and raise him and be parents probably meant a lot. Sure it wasn’t easy but they had to have known that it wasn’t going to be. I mean raising a normal kid is hard on its own but an alien one? Insane. Still they took him in because he needed them. They didn’t care that he wasn’t from earth, he was a baby and he needed parents. And they were so ready to love him.

And when that baby, who was incredible for so many reasons, grew up and made his own family, he gave them more.

He gave them another son, a daughter, and a grandson. Each just as incredible and amazing as that baby who first crash landed on their farm.

I just think that when Lois and all three of those boys are in that little farm house, the Kents just feel so whole and happy. To be able to look around and see the family they once thought they’d never have.

"Huh." Jason pushed back his blankets and swung his legs over the side of the bed. "Who'd you kill?"

The sound Damian made in response could be best described as an angry cat on helium. His voice must have started to break because Jason had never heard him so shrill before. "Jason, this is not the time for your tasteless jokes!"

"I never joke about murder." Jason stood up, stretching and cracking his back, frowning as something occurred to him. "Wait, it's Wednesday. Shouldn't you be in school?"

"Don't tell Father," Damian said immediately. "I have already called myself in sick."

"Gosh, Damian, you're turning into such a little delinquent. You must be spending too much time with me." Jeans and his boots were easy to slip on while juggling the phone. The t-shirt took a little more maneuvering.

Damian grumbled indistinctly before clicking his tongue. The sound of it had Jason rolling his eyes on reflex. Such a pretentious little brat.

"I've seen your school records," Damian finally said, with a haughty little sniff. "You'd have never willingly missed a day of school in your life."
