can u expand on the byler vol2 problems
i said ask me to expand and i will and you delivered thank you for that!!! i didn't say byler vol2 problems though i said byler fandom problems post-volume 2!
i think the main thing is overcorrection. i said every major problem but i only meant the things i think of as byler tumblr trends that annoy me personally. tbh🙏 it's subjective. kind of.
i've been rereading posts from after volume 2 recently and yeah it's the "will only ever gets to be sad" to "will deserves a villain arc" kind of pipelines that you saw after volume 2 that i think are still very much happening i'm gonna talk about even though the will villain arc one died down pretty quickly. on this side of the internet anyway. some of these actually aren't volume 2 related sorry i lied i was mostly thinking about the mike stuff when i said that.
mike says i love you to el: everything always ends up being about mike somehow. i think this is the biggest one. people like the mystery and the way mike's sexuality isn't confirmed like will's is and so they analyze him more which leads to people literally rewriting history with takes like mike is more queercoded than will?😭 i get that everyone knows will is gay now but the mike focus has people thinking that will has no subtext when literally his entire storyline is full of the saddest subtext ever!!! but it's not subtext that you can choose to only read as "this boy is gay" so it's not as fun i guess😔 and it really isn't as fun. because it's mostly heartbreaking and awful lmao but yeah. just wanted to give a thumbs down to the mike is more queercoded than will take again.
mlvns say will is a whiny crybaby, bylers say going through what he's had to go through would make anyone cry just as often so will isn't even that sensitive even though he is it's literally one of the first things we learn about him lol. people imply that being sensitive is bad so often and act like will has sensitive gay kid allegations to beat when he literally doesn't like he is a sensitive gay kid😭 why do you think that's bad exactly...🎤
mike says i love you to el: 90% of people think they read everything wrong for 72-96 hours and then everyone's like oh no i get it now. byler's still endgame. overuse of the term media literacy and everyone who doesn't think or simply doesn't believe that the duffers would make byler endgame is stupid and has no media literacy. which actually comes off as very INSECURE!!!! and is frankly annoying. and obnoxious. the term media literacy needs to be taken away from byler tumblr i'm so serious.
will is not a baby just because he's gay look at these two scenes he's actually so mean and most importantly not sensitive (and then he's not even mean in the scene) and he can load a gun could a sensitive baby do that (and then he's literally 12 in the scene so like. i'm sorry but that's a baby to me😕). how dare you imply that he's sensitive, gay, and a kid. i'm kidding about the gay one because no one in this day and age is defending will by saying he's not gay but some of them might as well be because it's the qualities that made people assume he's gay that people try to say he doesn't have. the how dare you infantilize him he can load a gun one is just nonsensical because regardless of how you feel about will with a gun you're definitely meant to be like oh no this poor little kid has to defend himself all alone :( in the moment like him being a kid isn't a bad thing (??/!??,/) it makes you feel for him and is part of what makes what happens to him so awful.
mlvns accuse bylers of hating el and of being raging misogynists: elmike is born. bylers start saying that el will actually be thrilled by the match and might actually set up the guy she spent the first two and a half years of her life out of the lab fixated on who's been her boyfriend for over a year and her newfound brother. because she's so mature and over the petty drama that's a teenage love triangle. which is crazy because i DON'T believe that most bylers are as misogynistic as mlvns make us out to be like i've seen way worse which might be because...the show is actually pointing to mike being gay so it's not made up and no one needs to give el a thousand flaws to justify anything? even though people do blame her for things that i don't know if she should be blamed for but whatever that's a different discussion. i was saying: it's crazy because while i don't think bylers are all awful misogynistic el haters...the girl being so happy and out of the way and not being given the space to feel anything about her (gay) boyfriend not being in love with her is sooo new age 2010s mlm fandom sexism. let el have emotions about her breakup with her gay boyfriend who was the first person she bonded with (who didn't die immediately) after escaping the lab who lied to her about falling in love with her at first sight 2k25‼️
everything about babygirl mike and buff byers? let's not get into the whole buff byers debate i hate it with a passion. but it's like. people want mike to be taken down a peg. mike says i love you to el with will's sad little face in the background and people want mike to have to beg for forgiveness. which i get because as i was saying the other day, "i feel like my life started 24 hours after you were taken to the upside down and were traumatized forever because i met this girl who's replaced you in every way that matters, will" is hard to get over. but idk. people are so weird about mike being lame and loving will and about will barely caring about him in return and about the loserification of mike wheeler because yes mike is a loser but only in the sense that the whole party is!!! and that's something that gets lost when he's made to be below them and below will specifically because people feel like he has all the power in the relationship right now and will's at his mercy. which is something they don't like. like it's okay they're both miserable actually. rejoice! post-volume 2 mike needs to have fallen first and he needs to have fallen harder because if the only thing will gets at the end of everything is a boyfriend who loves him only as much as will loves him it's not good enough even though that's all he's not letting himself hope he'll ever have.

You don’t have to answer this if you don’t want to but which Glee pairings do you dislike the most and why?
I'm going to only focus on pairings that happened on the show and actually had a relationship. I hate Quinn/tana, but that wasn't an actual relationship so no point in addressing it (same with other ships of this kind like Finn/tana, Puck/berry, Puck/tana, Sam/tina). Also I hate basically most of the fanon ships, especially those involving Rachel being paired with her bullies (or anyone who isn't Finn tbh). But those aren't real so no need to address them either.
F/uinn: I hate this pairing because Quinn is abusive af and there's literally nothing good about this relationship. I don't even know where to begin to say why I hate F/uinn. It's just abusive relationship 101. If anyone likes this after watching the show (or even just after s1), I'm very worried about them and their relationships.
St/Berry: I hate all ships that are of the type victim is dating their bully. This is the epitome of that and I'm honestly disgusted that this was the endgame ship for Rachel. Jesse is just an asshole and he never changed. He always put Rachel down from their first meeting. Even in the finale, he (I think it was him) has to bring up the fact that he already had a Tony when Rachel won her. He's just a disgusting character and I hate that Rachel ended up with him. Like if I could delete only one character from Glee, it would be him.
T/artie: Artie never treated Tina with any respect. She was mainly a trophy for him. He liked that she was his only friend and figured that she actually had feelings for him. And idk maybe she did. But Artie was a shitty boyfriend all through season 1 and I'm actually happy that Tina cheats on him with Mike. Also they basically got together because they were like "if we're both single by whatever age let's get hitched." That's not development. It's just sad. But this one and St/Berry are just wish fulfillment ships for the actors playing the characters involved. It's really dumb imo.
K/laine: This is a toxic and abusive ship but somehow people don't see it, even the show is very in your face about it. K and B are constantly in competition (maybe not in s2, but starting in s3 for sure) with each other and they just both seem uncomfortable around each other. B liked it when K was a fan of his in S2, but after that he was just completely not attracted to him at all. K just seems to hate B in later seasons and doesn't care about his problems at all. These two just don't care about each other at all, not even a little close to the way other healthy couples on the show cared about each other. B seemed way more interested in other guys too than in K. I think the main thing about why K/laine doesn't work for me is because B and K just want a boyfriend, but they don't want to be a boyfriend. And this is basically common in all the other ships I've listed above (but in those cases only half of the ship is like that, the other actually wants to be gf/bf and not just have one). Quinn wants Finn as her boyfriend, but she doesn't want to be his girlfriend. Jesse wants Rach as his girlfriend, but doesn't want to be her boyfriend. Artie wants Tina as his girlfriend, but he doesn't want to be her boyfriend.
B/arole: They're only together because Kurt wanted them to date so he can get in Finn's pants and that's just crazy. But aside from their shady beginnings, once Carole married Burt, she became Kurt's mom only, and stopped caring about Finn (until he died and then she remembered Finn was her son) and she stopped being a mom to him. She was all about Burt and Kurt. Also Burt never acted like a dad to Finn. He treated him badly and didn't care about what happens to Finn. He just wanted Finn to work for him in the shop while Kurt would go off to become successful. He was just a stereotypical asshole stepdad. Carole could have done better.
Bro/chel: I almost forgot about this. This was a really weird ship. He was way out of Rachel's comfort zone and he was super creepy and would always talk Rachel down and lie to her. He's basically Jesse Lite. I hate that they wasted all of S4 on this trainwreck and wasted Cory's time.

(I sent this yesterday after my first ask but I don't think you got it, my wifi was bad.) No I get it, I agree that just because actors speak positively or lightheartedly about it, doesn't mean byler is endgame / Will gets a perfect happy ending. I know everyone always says "Don't compare them to other shows/ships" but. It really truly would not be the first time something like this happened and I would be extremely disappointed but not that surprised. Imo, giving a tragic character a tragic (or just meh) ending is bad, but the duffers might think it's peak television. Or maybe they are the kind of people who think Will not getting the guy is "just realistic". And actors could just say what they're told to, what fits the current vibe or whatever. Idk. I won't know until I have seen s5 myself. Byler and happy Will make narrative sense to me but that doesn't really mean much. I'm v curious about all your predictions now, what do you think is most likely gonna happen to everyone?
I honestly can't be certain about anything, tbh I try not to think too much abt S5 bc if I do I'll set expectations for myself that'll never end up happening lmao but if I'm talking in a positive the best I can see realistically go down is some sort of weird ambiguous gay ending? think something like Sam and Frodo.. in a more negative way I feel like all the events of these season do matter whether we like them or not, the lie abt the painting is going to be revealed and just like will said at rinkomania when mike finds out abt it he's gonna be mad and they'll def argue (the only good thing I can hope out of this is will getting the last word in an argument for once lol) like.. I'm not sure how big of a storyline this will be, I can definitely see vecna trying to use this all for his advantage to try to get will on his side, and honestly? If he's in a bad state emotionally I can see him being persuaded, ''my life started the day we find you in the woods'' remember? Vecna is definitely bringing that back lmao
I feel like this whole season was just building up ammunition to try to get will to break or snap or something next season(and I'm soooo not looking forward to seeing this tbh this season was already enough angst to last me a lifetime) but like despite all of this, Im like 100% that henry and will are meant to be character foils of each other, so whatever happens I think will end up going against him bc at the end of the day o don't think the duffers spent 4 seasons showing how selfless and kind will is to just end up straight up turning him into a villain, also how homophobic that would be....
Also m*leven side note I have no idea what's in store for them, idk how a love confession led by a lie is meant to be a good thing for them (and not any lie btw, wills feelings disguised as elevens) in my head this is something that should doom the entire relationship + the fact that max died during the monologue (just like Nancy and barb) but in reality the only thing this will do is just something to set up some conflict for them for the season just so they have something to argue about before they end up getting back together towards the end of the season like they always do... there's also the weird looming idea of marriage that makes my skin crawl but as much as I hate it I feel like it might be an actual possibility 😐 like I'm soooo serious if this happens I'm not watching S5 at all
There's more stuff that I think that might happen in s5 especially with all the time references they have been making throughout the show but if I get into that this answer will be 500 pages long so I'll also expect to be something time related, maybe even time manipulation especially related to will, I can also see vecna try to give him the opportunity to go back so none of this would've happened and he could've been able to live a normal life but will like the angel he is would tell him no and to fuck off, but this is more leaning into a full on theory based on nothing so idk what's the likelihood of it happening lol, thanks for the ask btw!!

What was the muse you mentioned you were planning to revive? I'm so curious :o Also lmaoo poor Tony, adopting Nebula right after he already lost a "child" (Peter) and right before becoming an actual father... now, Nebula might reunite with him in the afterlife. Tbh it's looking like a few gotgs are gonna die.. which... *LOUD EXHALE* They are such comfort characters I love these weird ass space misfits 💔
{i am the caretaker of souls} Honestly, death is not the worst thing that can happen to MCU characters in my opinion. I mean... look at Wanda and Vision, heh. Wanda’s been just mentally destroyed and gone down a very dark path, and Vision... *sigh* Poor Vision. Leaving him dead would have been better for him and for fans, I think. To refurbish him like a cell phone was just... I know White Vis was in the comics and all that, but I was really hoping they wouldn’t go there in the MCU... and they did. I prefer a good death to a bad one, or to writers just screwing up the character and disappointing fans.
There are plenty of characters where, even though they died, they had good deaths and frankly their lives would have been hell if they’d still gone on living for various reasons. Some muses I used to write or still do have had those kinds of deaths, where they died protecting others in some heroic fashion that either redeems them somewhat or at least has them go out on a good note to be remembered positively for. Carlos from the Resident Evil live action movies comes to mind. Also, Luther from Red Widow. And I would’ve said Vision too had he um... stayed dead. Pietro, certainly, although I have a lotta problems with the setup and mechanics of his death, but... yeah, he died a hero and there’s no better way to go out.
I’m fine with a character I love dying as long as that death is A Good Death™, it’s meaningful, and it leaves fans on a good note. Tony’s death, as rough as it was for fans, was definitely a good one for him that let him go out a hero and in a way that fans will always remember him positively for. I prefer this... to... A Bad Death™, where it’s meaningless or overly terrible for fans or it’s just poor writing and doesn’t make sense. Or, and this is the one I hate the most, a death that is an insult to a lotta things the character holds dear, identifies as, or stands for. Ned Stark from GoT/ASoIaF, for example. Also, I would argue and have argued in the past, Nuada from Hellboy II.
And characters don’t have to die to be ruined. Steve Rogers, I’m looking at you. What they did to him in the MCU was terrible. There aren’t many things that I outright reject from canon, but his ending in Endgame is one of them. Completely out of character and bad writing. I would have preferred him to die heroically like Tony than for the writers to do that to him. I am not an arrogant person (or most times, even a confident person, heh), but I could have written him a better ending than those writers did. But anyway, my point is... just have hope that, if they do kill off some GotG people, they get A Good Death™ and aren’t ruined by the writers, heh.
Okay. Now. As far as the muse I was thinking of reviving... yeeeeeah, I was actually hoping nobody remembered that I said that, haha. Only because I said that and then things got crazy in my life and now I don’t foresee having the time to bring back an old muse as complex as him right now. I still want to revive him, I just need time to re-watch his movie, go through his blog and re-familiarize myself with all my headcanons and a ton of aspects of his life that I fleshed out beyond canon, and I do have a fanfic that I stopped writing a few years ago that I really should go back and finish. If I can do all of those things, I think I can get back into writing him.
He’s not the kind of muse I want to just jump into, and after 3-4 years of him being quiet and me not writing him at all, I know he’s going to come out a bit different than before. I’m a different person now than I was 4 years ago. A lot has happened in my life, not all of it good, and that’s fine, but I need to find my voice with him where it stands now and not necessarily try to emulate the way I used to write him. So yeah, it’s just a matter of having the time to do all of this. I have a 6-day hiatus coming up, but it’s for work, so I’m not sure I’m going to have time then, but then I’m off for a month (which honestly is more like three weeks because I need to start prepping early before Spring semester), so... I’m optimistic that maybe I’ll have time then? *shrugs* I’ll try.
But umm... yeah he’s actually a muse I already mentioned earlier, heh. Nuada from Hellboy II. I want to bring him here and make him a private muse, only because his blog still has like 600+ followers and I can’t take on that kind of new activity right now. Also, because I know he’s going to come out different after such a long hiatus from writing him, I kindof want to distance myself from my old blog and the way I used to write him before. If his was a side blog, I would probably archive or delete and start a new one, but because it’s my main that all my other rp blogs are sides of, I can’t get rid of it, and I don’t want him to have his own blog because that will invite a lot more activity than I have time for. So... he’s going to be hiding here on my multi once I can get him set up. But don’t tell him that, because according to him, he never hides from anything. 🙄

hey so “find me” dropped on premiere and i just watched it, so you know what that means??
it’s review time!
(super rambly as usual) spoilers under the cut
before i say anything, let me say, IT’S FINE, Y’ALL. as predicted. people are gonna be dramatic bc there are daryl/leah scenes, but like...we been knew? and some of them were rly important caryl-wise. (tbh, the episode was kind of boring and just a set-up for other stuff, lmfao)
okay, review:
opening credits, which i think most of us have already seen, were cute. obvi there was some weird tension with daryl that leads to the coming-to-a-head thing at the end, but their banter is still cute af
they went fishing and daryl’s reaction to carol was adorable, and there’s an important parallel later on, so bookmark this
similarly, there’s an important parallel to carol’s “the dead catch up to us eventually”/daryl’s “i ain’t gonna let it”, so bookmark that, too
dog is the instigator for the flashbacks, so if you wanna blame anyone, blame him. he races to the cabin, which for some reason daryl, who spent five years in this forest, seemed surprised to see? didn’t you literally map out that whole area, my dude? whatever
cue flashback!
i might have the scene order mixed up, but i think it starts with daryl being all sad by himself, and then dog as a puppy shows up and he’s like “!!! a dog!!!” which is v cute, and then he runs back off. we don’t meet leah yet
we see carol and daryl having a conversation while standing on opposite sides of a river for no reason except to probably symbolize distance or maybe covid, lol. the conversation basically goes:
carol: things are different
daryl: yeah
carol: how long are you gonna be out here?
daryl: -shrug emoji-
carol: i get why you’re out here, and i’d join you if things weren’t...
daryl: different
carol: yeah
daryl: yeah. anyway, it’s gonna rain, and also i’m having emotions, so ttyl
the end
at some point we see daryl sitting with an extremely unhappy face while it pours rain on him in the dark, and i want that as a reaction gif IMMEDIATELY
also the rain destroys his “where in the world is rick grimes?” map, which makes him v upset and scream-y, and we get the idea that he might be going a bit bonkers being all alone looking for a dead (or, ig, kidnapped by helicopter) man
in present day carol finds the note, and is like “oh dunk, she lived here??” so she knew about leah, and daryl’s like, “i already told you everything,” and carol’s like, “no you didn’t,” so we go back to flashbacks (but i’m still not sure what parts carol didn’t already know?? whatever, it’s not that important)
i’m just gonna hit the highlights of the flashbacks bc they were not that thrilling:
first time daryl meets leah the dog leads him to her cabin, and leah ties him to a chair and holds a gun to his head being like, “what are you doing on my land?” bc apparently you can claim whole forests during the apocalypse, and daryl says very little, and eventually she lets him go
next time dog finds daryl and he brings her back and leah is like, “the dog likes you” and they’re kinda flirty, and then daryl says very little and leaves
next time daryl is surrounded by walkers and leah shows up and helps and they hide in a tree and are awkwardly close to each other and daryl cannot handle the close physical contact so when the walkers pass he says very little except to tell her to never come back again, lmfao
the next flashback is my favorite bc daryl just fucking
goes to leah’s cabin and throws a fish at the door???
i laughed for ten years
he throws a fucking fish and then stands there for a minute like “is she gonna notice that i gave her a fish??” like, no, dumbass, you didn’t even knock, you just threw a fucking fish at her fucking door, what is wrong with you??
no wonder it’s taken him and carol so long if he thinks throwing fish at people is a smooth move. boy has NO fucking game
anyway, leah gets him back by finding him and throwing the fish at his head, being like, “wtf, don’t throw fish on my porch?” which, fair, leah
IMPORTANT CARYL PARALLEL (from here on out known as “caryllels”) #1: so earlier i mentioned the carol fish thing, and apparently the same thing happened with leah, where she speared a fish on her first try and daryl was like “tf?” v blatant “we are supposed to be thinking about carol and daryl’s relationship during this scene” sort of thing
leah’s backstory is bland. had a family, they got eaten or disappeared or something. she, her adopted son, and dog’s mom got away, but the kid was bit, and died the same day dog was born, bc ig when god closes one door, he replaces your dead son with a puppy, or however the idiom goes
ONLY PART THAT GOT ME LEGIT EMOTIONAL:
leah asked daryl who he lost, and he says, “my brother”
asklfdjaslfdjskl
god i miss rick
i hated rick for so long and now i miss him so much
but i digress
IMPORTANT CARYLLEL #2: leah and daryl have the same “the dead get you eventually”/”i ain’t gonna let it” conversation as caryl had earlier, only daryl is playing the role of carol in this scenario, so again we’re supposed to be comparing the two relationships. lemme get through the rest of the summary and then i’ll tell you my opinion on what that means
fuck what even happens next?
i have these out of order bc they were all the fucking same, but the two of them get closer, and there is the vaguest suggestion of sex ever. you literally only see daryl’s hand
then jump-cut to them sitting at the table being emo, ig bc daryl was gonna go back to look for rick for a bit, and leah is like “who do you belong with? your brother you won’t stop looking for? your family that you left? [side note: that seemed rather pointed, like, “hey hoe, you abandoned your family, that was kind of a dick move”] or me?” and he says he doesn’t know, and she’s like “yeah you do, now choose”
jump-cut to caryl scene where carol finds him at the river and says that she won’t be visiting as much, and daryl’s like “k” and they have a brief argument where daryl’s all snippy, like, “what? do you want my permission for you to move on with your life? i’m not still emo about the fact that you’re moving on with your life, and i also don’t think it’s contextually significant that every time you show up in my flashbacks you explicitly mention that you’re married and have a kid,” and carol is like, “bro, you need to Get Your Shit Together and come home”
jump-cut to daryl having what i’m assuming is an epiphany that carol/fam have all moved on while he was out being emo, and so he decides to go be with leah, except, plot twist! she’s gone. the picture of her and her son is gone, but dog is still there. daryl leaves the note, which says, “i belong with you, find me”
for those freaking out about the wording about the note, may i remind you that she specifically asked, “do you belong x, x, or with me?” so he was just answering the question
aaaaaand back to present day
carol is like, “what do you think happened to her?” and daryl is all -shrug emoji-, and then she’s like, “...do you think she might have just...you know...left?” and daryl gets rull offended, which was kind of funny
(she probably just left, bud)
carol tells daryl to stop thinking that when people leave it’s bc of him, and connie’s name gets thrown into the mix, and daryl gets a “oh here we fucking go” look on his face, and it sets him off
he said basically what we were already spoiled for. “you just want to run, you don’t know when to stop, i shouldn’t have taken you off the boat bc you still just want to run” etc
and carol looks fucking HEARTBROKEN, which hurt me, and she goes into the other room and we end the episode with daryl staring forlornly out of the window
the end
okay
so quick analysis
i think the significance of this episode is supposed to be so we have an understanding of why daryl is suddenly so !teamfamily, and !teamfuture, and how badly he wants carol to be there with him. at one point, one of them even says, “this isn’t about leah, or connie,” or anyone but the two of them. the title “find me” feels significant, bc the whole episode is daryl grappling with where he’s supposed to go, and what his purpose is, and by the end, he says to carol, “i know where i belong,” (implying, with her and the fam), pulling us full-circle. in the first flashback onward he is lost, but by the end he is found -cue amazing grace-
daryl and leah were flirty, but to me it felt very much like something that was just being used as daryl character development. we barely got anything that juicy between the two of them (except the fish throwing thing, that was amazing), and i still don’t think that it would make any sense, regardless of the showrunner, to pair daryl up with some rando after having so many other choices that people would have preferred. i don’t think we’re meant to #endgame ship it, so much as we are supposed to be like, “oh, ok, daryl learned the power of family and stability and leveled up, -you know what that is? growth gif-” as a result, i literally have no idea what leah’s role is gonna be in s11, but i don’t think it’ll be a huge plot point
so now we firmly know where daryl stands. he is all about moving forward, not looking back, and doing the best he can, and he’s frustrated bc when he took carol off the boat he wanted her to be in the same place as him so that they could grow together, but she wasn’t and isn’t there yet
so my guess is that what’s next for carol’s storyline is her reaching that same zen-level daryl’s at
once they’re both there, then they get to ride off into the sunset and make passionate love under the moon casting shadows over the vast desert wasteland
whew
anyway
tl;dr: idk, episode was fine, if not kinda boring. lots of caryllels. can i go back to writing my vietnam war au now?
the end
(stay hype, stan kang, and get daryl to call carol sweetheart 2k21),

tbh I think part of the reason I dislike Tony so much is because his arc should have ended in Iron Man 3. that movie ended with him realizing the error of his ways, deciding that pepper and the people around him mattered more than his own ego, blowing up all his iron man suits, undergoing surgery and having the arc reactor removed and tossing it into the sea. every single movie after that keeps dragging him back and showing him making the same mistakes, but none of them treat those mistakes with the same weight earlier movies did.
like, age of ultron has him just show up in an iron man suit again as if iron man 3 never happened and start bossing the avengers around, causing another crisis. he causes almost every mcu villain other than thanos. he causes ultron, he causes zemo, he causes vulture, he causes mysterio... and he causes most of the villains post-endgame too, because he was too selfish to look for a solution that could potentially eliminate his daughter from existence. he traumatized half of the population of the entire universe by having them completely disappear for YEARS and then come back to find out all their loved ones and the entire world had moved on without them. they came back to find out their pets had died, that family members had died, that their homes had been sold, that all their possessions had been given away, that their jobs had been taken by other people... meanwhile the other half of the universe was similarly traumatized by moving on from having half the universe disappear, only to have those people suddenly reappear. husbands and wives moved on, children grew up without parents, etc. (and yeah, the movie tries to justify tony's point of view by saying that reversing the snap is impossible, but that's bullshit too).
like, if Tony's arc had been contained to iron man 1, iron man 2, avengers, and iron man 3, maybe with some BRIEF cameos later on, it would have been much better. hell, have rhodes take on the iron man mantle as war machine from age of ultron onwards. tony's first four films were a surprisingly well-contained arc, looking back, and every subsequent film repeatedly destroyed his character and made him cause problems for all the other characters (while simultaneously presenting him as the Good Guy Who Is Always Right). the first four films presented tony as a somewhat complex character, but from aou onwards he's always right, even when he's wrong, and it's INFURIATING. he faces almost zero consequences until he dies, at which point he's mourned by the entire mcu and celebrated as an unequivocal hero.
looking back, I really wish they'd had the courage to end his arc where they should have.
oh, and don't get me wrong, tony still somewhat sucks in the first four movies, like he's still a war profiteer who becomes a superhero for fun. but that's kind of the point? he's supposed to be somewhat unlikeable, he's supposed to be a douchebag. later movies completely miss that point and unintentionally make him an unlikeable douchebag.
figured it would happen once they wrapped up his arc in im3. there’s a video i can’t remember the name of but they do a great job at describing what tony’s post im3 arc should’ve been and it should’ve been him becoming the villain. not like obvious supervillain but someone who thinks they’re doing what’s right when in reality they’re hurting the people they want to save. and in the end he gives his life in an act of redemption or something.

☕ + mcu fandom post endgame?
update: uhh not me realising u said fandom after writing a whole ass essay: this fandom has been so divisive since civil war tbh. i wish people would hold the writers a little bit more accountable for their writing than hating on fans who’s characters have done something they don’t like. it’s like, a lot of the uh things that happen in the mcu that people have a problem with is just a case of really bad writing. (see below hhuuhwhuwe)
prev answer: ahhhhhhhh. okay i have a couple of thoughts. so obvs, post endgame marvel is largely tv shows atm. i think....it’s a transparent business decision and a good one, mind you, for marvel lmao. i think there’s several reasons. for it. first and foremost, obvs the avengers have disbanded so there isn’t a new group to carry future movies. secondly, splitting into several tv shows not only allows marvel to launch its own exclusive streaming platform, but ensures more viewers have to watch the shows for the future movies to make sense, y’know?
in terms of my opinions about the shows, atm i’m most surprised by wandavision which i didn’t expect to enjoy. i was worried they wouldn’t pull off the humour and sitcoms but they did a great job acc. i think both shows however suffer from pacing issues, particularly in the last episode where they try to tie everything up and it kinda falls apart bc there are too many antagonists — tfatws particularly struggles with it, i mean what the hell was the 180 turn on john walker in the last ep i’m still so ???? about that whole mess. a bit worried for loki but it’s the only tv show that probably doesn’t impact the upcoming movies as in it’s own alternate timeline.
black widow is still such an insult imo. firstly i dont think its the right place to put in the mcu - ideally you’d want the black widow after catws bc that’s when nat leaked all the shield files and her own past, so it makes more sense for her story to be situated into the timeline at that moment. the whole movie feels redundant given the character’s death has already happened, it’s like...it doesn’t really matter what happens bc u know how she dies anyway, and the emotional impact of it is lessened bc of that. the thing is i get why the russos killed natasha — bc mcu!clint has been so destroyed by....everything idek....there would be so little emotional impact with his death. that does not however mean i don’t still hate it lmao. it truly makes me furious that female characters are so outweighed by male characters in the mcu that the russos managed to kill both the only female guardian, and the only female avenger.
endgame!steve’s arc.....i pretend i do not see it. i really do. i lowkey talked about it on my blog a lot when endgame came out, bc it was sooo regressive in my mind and since the russos set up the rules of time travel to mean things could not be changed without creating an alternate timeline (mind u they broke that anyways.), then what that means for steve is that he had to go back in the past and do nothing for the timeline to continue as it did. (meaning, ignoring his own frozen self, ignoring bucky’s capture by hydra and the soviets, etc, etc). a lot of people hate on aou, and rightfully so in many ways, but that doesn’t change the fact that there were some pretty significant arcs in that movie that people wanna ignore - one of which is that steve has made his peace with being in the present. the avengers are his family, bucky is there as well, peggy has married and has told him to move on, and even his flashback is a kind of horror sequence of pretending “it’s over, we can go home” while people die around him.
for me, i think i miss the early movies so much. the og iron man movie, and catfa and catws, as well as the avengers are my top favourites. i really appreciate those storylines the most bc they exist on their own. once we got into phase 4, and the tv shows, it felt like every movie was an advertisement for the next with the way they threw cameos in. the most obvious being civil war with the spiderman reboot. in fact civil war in general was so redundant when you realise infinity war and endgame are literally gonna be like, “yeah all of that that we just talked about? it no longer stands”, and i mean this both re: the accords, and re: bucky, bc at no point somehow in the following movies do we even get a MENTION of bucky from tony. you’d think with endgame you’d at least have one line. it could have been as simple as tony saying: “we’ll get them back cap, all of them. barnes included.”
send me a ☕️ and a topic and i’ll talk about how i feel about it

theory on why monica's upset with carol? literally my entire enjoyment of the show hinges on monica with the added bonus of jimmy and darcy, so when That Scene happened, it threw me off for the rest of the ep lol. i find it hard to believe that carol didn't return every so often in those 20 years tbh!
Ummmm, I don’t have super specific theories at the moment (since I feel like, while probably not explaining all of it, there’s a decent chance the show itself will reveal a bit more, at least from Monica’s end), but there are a few things that I think are likely important when both interpreting Monica’s weirdness about Carol this week + considering where things might go. (And it’s under a cut because I accidentally wrote a novel 🤡).
The biggest thing to me is that this show is taking place only three weeks after Endgame and, thus, only three weeks after Monica found out her that her mother had died three years prior. So while Monica is clearly choosing a Steve Rogers adjacent “let me throw myself into work” method of coping, she is definitely still going to be dealing with an immense amount of grief. So, depending on what exactly has or hasn’t happened with Carol, I think that, on some level, Wanda, a person divorced from Monica’s personal/family life, is probably a lot easier to talk about and focus on than Carol is.
Now, that said, I do think something happened. Given that we don’t have much to go on beyond knowing that Carol was on Earth at least long enough for Tony’s funeral and that Monica, three weeks post-Blip, doesn’t want to talk about her, there are tons of options as to what could have happened and not very much to narrow down the field. So, I’m just going to talk about the things I’ve thought about most for the last day or so.
While I chose to believe that Carol either returned to Earth between 1995 and 2018 or was met halfway by Maria and Monica via S.W.O.R.D. missions, knowing that Carol is busy throughout space, I could see a universe where Carol was not necessarily around when Maria was diagnosed with cancer and Monica consequently resenting her for that. I could also see Monica having mixed emotions about whatever happened between the Snap and Maria’s death two years later. (I assume Carol and Maria reunited after the Snap, but given how close to falling apart the world seemed to be during the five year gap and Carol’s own stated busyness during Endgame, as much as I love the idea of Carol and Maria having two years of domesticity, I don’t really think that’s what happened 😣). Finally, and I think this is probably the most likely option (potentially/probably combined with some earlier issues, either of the kind I mentioned or something else entirely): Carol and Monica reunited sometime between the Blip and the start of WandaVision and it somehow went sideways.
No matter what their relationship has been since the end of Captain Marvel, there is a lot of potential for miscommunication, mixed feelings, and potential clashes between two women at different stages of grief. Carol lost Maria three years ago. Monica lost Maria no more than twenty days before (since I assume any theoretical meeting would have taken place before Monica returned to S.W.O.R.D.). Further, Carol (and basically everyone who survived the snap) has had the trauma of living through those five years and losing numerous people they knew and loved in seconds, whereas Monica has the trauma of waking up and discovering that five years had passed and her newly cancer free mother died three years prior from returned cancer. Both of those experiences are going to be incredibly traumatic but also potentially clash in the immediate aftermath of the Blip (since to Monica the Blip itself was THE traumatic event or at least the moment she became aware of her own trauma, whereas to Carol and to everyone else who survived the Snap, it’s the moment when the universe was fixed and everyone came back). That’s a ton of stuff to work through and even with the absolute best intentions, I can so easily imagine it ending in a way that left Monica (and probably Carol as well) with a lot of messy, mixed emotions.
So basically, as someone who, like you, is emotionally invested only in Monica/watching  mostly for her, this week’s episode left me with a lot of questions and very 😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬. It’s my hope that we find out a bit more about Monica’s emotional reaction to Maria’s death and, potentially through that, to whatever has happened/hasn’t happened with Carol, before WandaVision ends. However, I don’t really expect it to be all sorted by the end. One, because while my emotional investment is entirely in Monica, the show is unfortunately not only about her, and with only four more episode, at least two more sitcom decades to get through and a whole lot of Wanda/Vision centric questions to answer, I just don’t think there will be time to fully explore this thread. (Especially if Monica is gonna go full superpowers by the end, which I tend to think will be happening). Two, and kind of building off the previous point, I think in order to fully resolve this plot thread you need Carol to make an appearance and I don’t really see any version of the overall WandaVision plot/third act conflict where a Carol appearance seems likely. And three, because of the number of Disney+ shows set to come out between now and Captain Marvel 2′s current release date, I think there’s a lot of potential to return to this thread post-WandaVision but pre-CM2. (Aside from Ms. Marvel, where I tend to assume Carol will show up and where Monica/S.W.O.R.D. could easily show up as well, there’s also Secret Invasion, which, if it ties into CM2 at all, would be an especially logical place to have Monica and Carol show up).
And, because this was ridiculously long:
tl;dr, I’m not panicking, I want answers, but, while I think that WandaVision may explore this thread a bit more, I don’t really expect to get all those answers/the Monica x Carol reunion hug we all deserve in WandaVision or anytime super soon.

Gen 3 Retrospective
I go by the name of Kit from @simmancy. It’s been a long time coming, but we here now… And I pretty much set this story on fire, huh?
That’s about where the 2ne1 reference stops, and the actually talking starts.
It’s 13 July 2020 and I’m deleting the first version of this to write a new one. I hope it makes sense because I wrote it at like. 1 AM on a work night.
Okay so... That was a pretty wild ride, huh?
It’s been three long, trying, emotional, honestly sometimes painful years since I started down this story’s road. Gen 1 was sweetness and simplicity. Gen 2 was when I started getting creative and interested, and testing the limits of what I thought I could do with storytelling and editing.
And Gen 3…. Gen 3 is honestly the most I’ve ever put into a story, probably in my life. There’s so much I wish I could say and share, but as everyone keeps reminding me, and I will remind you… You don’t owe anyone an explanation for your story. And that’s true! I don’t! My problem is that I do like giving them though. I like knowing a creator’s process, I like seeing how things were conceptualized. I’m trying to decide which parts are worth telling here, and I’ve written and rewritten this multiple times but I keep coming back to a Halsey quote of all things…
“I shared a lot about myself, assuming the world would be kind. That wasn’t quite the case.”
And the truth is, a lot of what went into Gen 3 originated in my personal history. It’s very easy for me to get defensive of it, and try to protect myself as well! Simblr in particular is really just throwing your shitty first draft out in the wind and letting people read it, and there’s no telling if they will love it or tear it apart. Despite a few bumps, I’ve been extremely, extraordinarily lucky. I’m still flummoxed that anyone reads this. I think it’s wild people follow this sideblog at all: I purposefully put it out of the way and didn’t tag it “properly” for simblr to find it, beyond the initial post that it was happening. It was deliberate--I made it a deliberate choice to come read this story, and it’s a choice you made by coming here.
So… yes, to answer the question most people HAVE asked me, doing this has been incredibly nerve-wracking and wouldn’t have been possible if I hadn’t super felt like it needed to get done and I wouldn’t stop until it did. I guess you can thank me being Like That for it even being done at all. I guess I can say I’m relieved and excited that it’s finally DONE, and I feel like I can move on to Gen 4 with my head held high.
Also that I kept all the important parts I knew would always happen--the Saddy breakup, the Ojaddy confession, the KOJ debacle and everything at the end... Almost just as I envisioned it back in November 2017. Yeah. NEARLY THREE YEARS. We took our SWEET TIME GETTING HERE.
MORE IMPORTANTLY, NOW THAT IT’S DONE.... I have a few words...
to my friends, past and present, who knew more of finer details and blessedly kept it under wraps for so long, even when I basically dropped the story out of spite and fear and self-hatred: thank you for not telling the end!! I appreciate it so much!!
thank you to the ones who pretended they didn’t know, especially
to my friends IRL, who supported this as a creative exercise and let me plagarize our lives for inspo: thank you
because seriously……….. so much was just…. stolen from my friends
like Kabi and Maddy
my real life Kabi is rolling in his own grave probably
to my poor fiance, who has put up with me being hyperfixated on this stupid project I do for free for like 3 years of our relationship, and having to deal with it being especially bad the past few weeks: I am so sorry butthead, I love you
to my pals over at DBD: thank you for being as stoked as you all were!!!!! i am so sorry!!!!! its over now!!! evil grandma rights!!! its gonna be okay!!! thank you for being a constant ray of sunshine in my life. this wouldn’t even MATTER without you, tbh
to the highkey truest ride or dies, Sam & Nika: for being here from the beginning til the end and constantly hyping me up even when I really didn’t deserve it - I don’t know what I did to earn your friendship, but I’m so happy to know you both! I literally cannot have done this without your support
and finally, to you: thank you for reading this, for waiting so long, for commenting and debating even after I returned from the abyss with his hell story. Like I said, I purposefully put this on a sideblog so you would need to search it out to read it. It means the world to me that you did. Thank you, endlessly, thank you.
I originally wanted to write a bunch of essays explaining character choices, but if you’ve read this far–comment and let me know WHAT exactly you’d like to know more about. I can go in depth about…. Pretty much anything, at this point. You wanna know about how I went about hiding Grandma for 2 whole generations? A whole essay about Madeleine’s accessory choices? The dynamics of KOJ and why they couldn’t ever be endgame? Something else? Let me know. Send an ask here. I’ll answer them that way.
And sometime soon, there will be an Epilogue. I just… need a tiny break!!!!
See you soon!
- Kit

N+A=J, Azor Ahai, and Dawn
Look, before you go and crucify me for presenting and actually believing this theory, just hear me out. I’m not here to convince you or bash on your theory, so please don’t do that with mine.
These are just my opinions and while proof for R+L is stronger and is probably what will happen in the books, I do think that people are missing out on the awesome potential for N+A.
This is not an attempt to prove it. There are people with more dedication and more time on their hands who have tried. I’m only here to discuss why I like this theory from a narrative standpoint better than R+L=J
TLDR: Jon is Azor Ahai and making him a Dayne gives him access to Dawn, cool warg magic, and the potential to be the Sword of the Morning, which I think is pretty sick.
So let’s go!
1. Jon Snow’s Narrative Arc
Jon Snow is arguably the main character of ASOIAF, with Bran and Daenerys joining him as other main protagonists of the series. And it’s no secret why.
All three have very distinct, very important relationships to Magic.
Daenerys has her dragons, Bran is the Three-Eyed Crow, and Jon Snow’s whole storyline is about preparing for the next Long Night. The war against the Others.
It’s been that way since the beginning. We get small bits and pieces of it here and there but once Othar attacks Mormont it’s finally revealed to us and Jon that there are bigger things beyond the wall than wildlings. And we know that this is a complete surprise to Mormont and the other men of the Night’s Watch.
We also know that there is little written about the Others in Westeros at all, seeing as Sam isn’t able to find much on them when he travels to the Citadel.
This leads to the Great Ranging which leads to the Battle of the Fist of the First Men, which leads to the mutiny, which leads to Jon betraying the wildings which leads to the Battle at the Wall, which eventually gets him elected Lord Commander.
My point being, Jon’s storyline at this point has been spent 100% in the North surrounded by magic. There is no indication of him going south, no indication of politics beyond strategy and Stannis, no indication of him doing anything except planning for a battle against the Others and trying to save as many people as possible.
IN FACT! The reason he gets shanked is because he momentarily forgets his duty and puts the same people he promised to save in danger.
Up until Jon gets the pink letter, he never thinks about going south, but then “Arya” is in trouble and he puts NW and wildling men at risk. That is why he gets stabbed, that’s why they say “For the Watch”
Because in doing so he not only forgets his vows, but also the cause the men had pledged themselves to.
Now, all of this next bit is speculation based on what I personally think is going to happen and why I think Jon being Ashara’s son makes for a better narrative.
We know several plot points need to be resolved regarding Jon. I personally think he warged in Ghost, and then Melisandre will give him the last kiss as a priestess of r’hllor, which resurrects him like Beric Dondarrion.
Now, interesting thing here. The last kiss is a common funeral rite for the religion of the R’hllor and there’s another name for it as well.
The last kiss is a rite practiced by the red priests of R'hllor. When a follower of the Lord of Light dies, priests fill their mouths with fire and breathe flame into the deceased, as they believe that fire cleanses and is a bright gift. Harwin and Thoros of the brotherhood without banners refer to it as the kiss of life. (Wiki of Ice and Fire)
So, a kiss of life that is related to fire, that’s interesting. You know what else is interesting?
The exact circumstances of Jon’s death. It’s very different than what happened in the show. The show scene was quoted as being “a bad guy killing a good guy” while the books made it much more morally grey.
The most interesting part of Jon’s death, however, is Bowen Marsh sticking the dagger in Jon. He’s not only the first person to deal a mortal blow, but GRRM describes in detail how much Marsh is weeping, and how tragic this end really is.
Hmmmm, is it just me or is this starting to sound familar?
Flames, saltwater, wow this is really starting to remind me of something, but I can’t quite put my finger on it....
*stares into the camera like I’m on the office*
He’s being set up to be reborn amidst salt and smoke!
And now we get to my main part of the theory (took us long enough) but before that happens I need to make one thing very clear.
The Prince that Was Promised and Azor Ahai are NOT the same person.
Yes, Melisandre refers to them interchangeably, but no offense, she’s wrong...like a lot.
And while we know that Rhaegar knew about TPTWP, it was highly unlikely he knew about the Others, because as stated above, there is little to no information about them in Westeros and they haven’t been seen since the Long Night. So I really don’t have any idea why Rhaegar would think his son was destined to destroy beings that didn’t exist.
He got the details of TPTWP from Valyrian scrolls, and based on the info we have, Valyrians never interacted with the Others.
Azor Ahai on the other hand, is prophecized to directly battle with “the Great Other” which Mel connects to the Others (although this isn’t confirmed). On top of this, here are the two prophecies of Azor Ahai and TPTWP
TPTWP
born of Aerys and Rhaella’s line
born of salt and smoke
prophecised by a bleeding star
has a song of ice and fire
“the dragon must have three heads”
will deliver the world from darkness
will wake dragons from stone
Obviously this is exclusive to Targaryens, and Rhaegar was even thought to be the Prince that was Promised, but I think this applies to Daenerys or Aegon more than Jon even with R+L.
Especially considering Rhaegar used the song of ice and fire line on Aegon before even thinking of Lyanna.
Azor Ahai:
will show up after a long summer
born or reborn amidst salt and smoke
born or reborn after “stars bleed” and “the cold breath of darkness falls heavy on the world”
will draw forth a burning sword named Lightbringer
will ultimately fight against the Great Other
There’s no mention of dragons, songs, or anything else that most people use to interchange the two. Now the reason I bring this up is because if Jon turns out to be the son of Ned and Ashara, then he not only has a claim to Winterfell through Robb’s will, but he also can claim Dawn, the Dayne’s ancestral sword.
Dawn is a unique sword in the fact that its not made of Valyrian Steel but it’s just as sharp. It’s blade is described as “pale milkglass” and it’s a two-handed greatsword wielded by the Sword of the Morning. It was forged from the heart of a falling star and is the entire origin for House Dayne. It’s even said to glow.
The intesting thing about it? Only a Dayne can wield it.
It’s not passed down from father to son like most Valyrian Steel swords, but is instead given to the knight most worthy of possessing it.
GRRM has always emphasized the importance of Swords, especially Valyrian Steel swords. But I think what’s so interesting about Dawn is that we get its history in the very first book, and Arthur and Ashara Dayne are some of the only named Dornish characters we get from that time period.
(Also, just a fun fact, George has said that if he could wield a sword it would be Dawn, so do with that what you will)
I think that Dawn is Lightbringer, and the fact that George hasn’t given much information about the Daynes (a relatively minor house) when asked, makes me think that they play a much bigger part in the endgame than we think.
They have ties to the First Men, which means they were around during the first Long Night and the Battle for the Dawn. This also means that they potentially have the same warging abilities the Starks do, which would only be heightened if they were joined.
(I have so many theories on the First Men and magic, but that would take longer to get into than this.)
So, if Jon were to be the son of Ned and Ashara, then he could become the Sword of the Morning, which provides interesting imagery when you place it next to “The Long Night”.
It also would create one of my favorite parallels. Ned Stark heads to Starfall to return Dawn to Ashara after killing her brother, The Sword of the Morning. Jon Snow/Stark heads to Starfall to claim Dawn after being declared the Sword of the Morning and Ashara’s son.
Tbh, I just love this theory because magic! And heartbreaking parallels.
In conclusion, ASOIAF is messy and complicated and won’t be solved with a perfect parentage reveal. I think this one is interesting and while I think R+L=J will be what’s revealed (tbh I don’t mind it as long as they dont romanticize it), I think there’s just as great a story if Jon really is the bastard of Ned and Ashara Dayne.
Please be kind, I am only a lady who likes cool theories with way too much time on her hands.

Except this time, for Peter, it isn’t a dream. This isn’t something he’s going to wake up from in a cold sweat trying to catch his breath.
Repeating the past | Not Rated | 5584 words > Read the tags!
“Why me?” Peter asked, pulling back to look at Tony with red rimmed eyes. “Why do bad things always happen to me?”
Tony pulled Peter tighter against him, never wanting to let go. “I wish I knew, Pete.” Tony admitted. “You don’t deserve this.”
Green Turning Purple | General Audiences | 6239 words
Peter knows he can't fight back with his powers. So he doesn't. He lets whatever he's "earned" come at him. This time is a fucking bat.

Peter Parker finally had a friend...
...but Skip Wescott was no such thing.

When You Hand By A Thread of Sanity | Not Rated | 87355 words > Read the tags!
Peter Parker has a good life. He has an Aunt that loves him more than anything and now a father-figure, Tony Stark, who would do anything to protect him. Despite losing his parents and his Uncle at such a young age, Peter’s life is good. But will all that change when a teacher at Peter’s school decides to take advantage of him in the worst way.
The New Normal | General Audiences | 24854 words
Life has a tendency to throw curveballs, and this one that's thrown at Peter Parker is one that he and his family never, ever expected.
Some curveballs are temporary, ones that are thrown to make life "interesting" and keep people on their toes.
But some are permanent...and the only thing left to do is adjust, regroup, and move on.
Move on with the new normal.
Don’t Leave Me Now | Teen & Up | 26524 words
Peter wakes up to white noise, static, a weight in his head that makes him feel like he'll never stand up straight again. His whole body is a wreck and every breath he takes is full of nails and pain. He can barely move.
Tony's face is the first thing to come into focus. If the blurry outline of him can be called focus.
"Tell me before May gets in here," Tony says, gravely serious. He rests his hand gently on Peter's shoulder. "I'm giving you that chance. What's going on?"
Peter knows he can't hide it anymore. He wants to sigh, but it hurts too much. Everything hurts too much. It shouldn't hurt this much.
"I think I'm losing my powers."
The Third Option | Mature | 220962 words
Homecoming A/U.
Ben and May divorced before Peter’s parents died, so when Ben is murdered Peter goes into foster care. It takes just a tiny taste of superpowers for Peter to decide he doesn’t want to put up with his horrible foster father anymore—the streets are infinitely more appealing. All he wants is to be Spider-Man anyway.
So he leaves.
Simple.
Simple, that is, until Iron Man needs Spider-Man’s help. Peter isn’t about to turn down an opportunity to fight alongside Tony Freaking Stark, but he also isn’t going to let his hero know that his recruit is a fifteen-year-old homeless dropout. So they strike a deal. Peter will help Tony. In return, the mask stays on.
And that’s when things get complicated.
Always Silent, Peter Darling | Mature | 116135 words
After a traumatic experience at age 6, Peter Parker hasn't spoken a word. Most blame it on the fact that he witnessed his Uncle die in a horrible fire, this is only partly true. Now, almost 10 years later Peter is given the chance to finally speak, but will he take it? Or is the fear of his Aunt to much for him to take that chance?
Either way, Tony Stark can tell something's not quite right about the kind hearted May Parker.
Downfall | Mature | 5307 words
Peter is being abused. Tony finds out in the worst way possible.
...more will be added! Feel free to inbox me any suggestions!

For the character ask: all the children of Finarfin
How I feel about this character:
Finrod: charming slutty blond twink with a heart of gold. maybe that’s too much fanon and not enough canon but you can tear that characterization from my cold dead hands tbh. like yes this is King “I Killed A Werewolf With Nothing But My Teeth And The Power Of Love” but he’s also Prince “I Rap Battled With Sauron And Lost” and Lord “I Befriended Men and Dwarves Before It Was Cool”
Angrod: of all his siblings i think he’s the most… Angry Boy. he has a temper, but he’s also married with a kid (I subscribe to the Orodreth Angrodion version of canon). i think he’s the ‘oh my god why can’t any of you be NORMAL’ brother. BOTH his mother name and his father name are derived from the word for ‘iron’ - he’s got an iron personality, very strong-willed and stubborn. i also hc that he’s the only arafinwean who has Earwen’s silver hair.
Aegnor: a hopeless romantic. the dreamiest arafinwion (and that’s including artanis!). very particular about his hair (which is a WILD canon detail that i love sjdfhdk) but also has terrible fashion. his head’s always in the clouds, he’s a daydreamer, but he’s also incredibly loyal and a really good friend. he almost always listens to his heart over his head - and the fact that he and andreth never marry is the One Time he listened to logic over emotion, and that haunts him forever.
Galadriel: almost as much of a genius as Feanor and almost as humble about it, which is to say, not at all. she’s proud and stubborn and full of herself, especially in her youth - she’s also gorgeous and smart and right a lot of the time, which doesn’t help her ego. by the time she’s become Lady of Lothlorien she’s been through a lot and is much more humble and wise, but i think that comes not just from her experiences but also from being married to Celeborn the Wise. i think he balances her out very well tbh. (my favorite Galadriel characterization EVER is from this fic by @nerdanelparmandil, check it out!!)
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Finrod: I ship Finrod with anything that moves tbh….. I see him as super super gay, he and Amarie were mutual beards which is why she didn’t follow him to Endore. i am a Known Slut for Finrod/Turgon in particular, they’re kind of endgame for me, but also @raisingcain-onceagain has converted me to Finrod/Edrahil!! And while the Nargothrond Disaster Trio are in no way shape or form HEALTHY, i really really enjoy Celegorm/Curufin/Finrod content, that dynamic is delicious. i can also get down on Maedhros/Fingon/Finrod, though not really in a serious way. PLUS Finrod/Beor is very good, as is Finrod/Barahir and Finrod/Beren(/Luthien if we’re feeling spicy), and you KNOW he got busy with some dwarves! I just think he’s very free with his feelings and desires, especially after coming to Beleriand, and he takes full advantage of his freedom and position of authority to get what he wants. (not necessarily in a weird power dynamics way, though he’s into that kind of kinky shit too probably, i mean more in ‘it’s my kingdom i get to make the rules and i say No Homophobia and No Slutshaming’) - and I’m super happy to multiship with Finrod, there are verses where he’s fucking everyone and verses where he’s pining over Turgon and verses where he never even thinks about anyone other than Edrahil and etc etc etc. there’s probably even verses where he and Sauron get up to some funky shit!
Angrod: I don’t have a lot of headcanons about him and Eldalote. She has a Sindarin name, so maybe she came with him to Middle-earth - or maybe not, and he just missed her so much that he wouldn’t shut up about her and so her name was Sindarized to Edhellos. Either way I think they had a very strong relationship that ended in tragedy one way or another. I’ve also seen some fun Angrod/Caranthir enemies-to-lovers stuff, which I can get into, but I think Caranthir is aro so it’s not really my main hc.
Aegnor: i mean how can you NOT ship him and Andreth??? that relationship is just….so tragic and heartbreaking and beautiful. I like the theory that Gil-galad was their child, and he was given to Orodreth to raise because Andreth couldn’t care for an elfling and Aegnor couldn’t publicly claim a son out of wedlock. But also verses where they are just tragically pining after one another are beautiful in their own way. My headcanon is that the thing keeping them apart was less about the war going on and more about Aegnor fearing to lose her - but then he actually dies before her, and Andreth has to live with that pain. (idk if that works out timeline wise but. yeah)
Galadriel: Meladriel is very good and I enjoy that - I’ve also seen some great Galadriel/Luthien and even a Galadriel/Feanor fic I enjoyed. BUT overall i really love that she chose to marry Celeborn, a wise “dark elf” even when she’s completely out of his league - he balances her very well, and I don’t buy depictions of her walking all over him. she cares about him and he’s really good for her!
My non-romantic OTP for this character
Finrod: I ship Finrod/Turgon but also WHAT a great friendship they have!! I love that they go adventuring together :) And Finrod, Maedhros, and Fingon are so fun to imagine growing up together! Plus there’s his relationship with his nephew Orodreth, who he clearly adores, and also the fact that he’s still buddies with the Feanorians even after the first kinslaying (at Alqualonde! his home! where his mom is from!) and he’s so excited to meet new people from the Sindar to the Edain to the Dwarves. Finrod’s just EVERYONE’S friend and i appreciate that!!
Angrod: ….what if he and Caranthir used to be really close, like they are similar ages and grew up together, but then Something Happened and they started hating each other later on. that would be Very fun. also, he and Aegnor were lords together over the same land and died together, which implies they were very close - close like Celegorm and Curufin!
Aegnor: Again, he and Angrod were Best Bros which is great. I also think he’s probably beloved by Andreth’s people, he’s just this huge elf man they all kind of adopted and he’s so honored that they love him so much!
Galadriel: Melian!! obviously!! she stayed in Doriath specifically to learn from her, which is super neat. and then Gandalf in the later ages, i love whatever they have going on in the movies especially. i also think she and Celebrimbor had a weird rival-friendship i the second age, they’re both geniuses but from opposite sides of the family feud…except the family feud has killed pretty much everyone BUT them, so they come together to mourn that.
My unpopular opinion about this character
(this turned into more of ‘what are their negative personality traits’ than ‘unpopular opinions’ but whatever…)
Finrod: i’m sure he did his best but….when he was king of nargothrond he was still gallivanting all over the place. orodreth was probably More In Charge from before he was officially king…
Angrod: he’s a grade-A asshole. just a dick. mean as shit and holds grudges forever. really annoying to be around.
Aegnor: a dumbass. always listens to his heart and gets in trouble for it, until the one time he listens to his head and regrets it forever.
Galadriel: would make an EXCELLENT villain. ‘all shall love me and despair’ ? come on yall. if it had been HER versus sauron instead of Finrod (and…considering she was probably friends with Luthien, it very well could have been) i think she may have won, and im just imagining Sauron working for her, and the second and third ages going very differently with her being a Queen who everyone loves until they look back and realize she’s been corrupted and turned evil.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
so i think canon did mostly a good job with them SO some of these are some AUs!!!
Finrod: …if he had managed to convince Celegorm and Curufin to help with the Silmaril quest–the war could have ended before the Nirnaeth, maybe. or at least gone very differently.
Angrod: im gonna physically fight tolkien over giving us practically NOTHING on the wives of various characters - tell me more about Eldalote you coward!!!!
Aegnor: JUST MARRY ANDRETH PLEASE. i’m a slut for interspecies relationships and the fact that this one is male elf/female human is SO good and frankly unprecedented in Tolkien’s works. PLEASE i need more!!!
Galadriel: FUCK that evil!Artanis AU would be REALLY cool and sexy, wouldn’t it?

I love Free Day because it means I can do Whatever I Want and I get to rb it to tucweek along with the incredible art pieces and insightful analysis other people have made and mine’s just, like, TUC as vines.
Anyway. Here’s the definitive power ranking of all minor characters* in the Underland Chronicles. It's quite long, because I tried to use every character.
Icarus -this DUUUUDE. This GUYYYYY. SUCKS! -“uh-oh looks like I’m infected with the plague better fly directly into a social gathering” -would be an anti-masker probably  0/10
Reekwell and Gushgore -Fangor and Shed part two, but unfunny this time. 1/10 y’all suck give me Fangor and Shed back
Purvox -Purvox is apparently a beautiful red spider who teaches Hazard how to “speak” Spinner. That’s cool. -that’s it. Why did Suzanne even feel the need to name her? I’m grateful for the extra details but 2/10
Ajax -mean. -nobody likes him -this is probably why he gets on so well with Solovet -some sort of flier general, it seems, which is pretty cool 2/10
Hero & Kent -twins, I guess that’s fun -they’re only like eight but they still Smirk Evilly. Good for them 2/10 just because there’s 2 of them
Anchel & Daphne -some randos Keeda mentions as dead. They probably had some sort of significance to be mentioned by name but We’ll Never Know. 2/10 RIP though. I’m sure you’re worth higher than this but I don’t even know who you are
Horatio -crony #1 -has a crush on Dulcet. Didn’t we all 3.5/10. Boosted solely by association with Dulcet
Marcus -crony #2 3/10
Wevox -thought her name was Weavox until I began writing this post -sort of “Was Margaret Thatcher a Girlboss?” vibes -“As it is, Vikus, we will not drink. Web them” is a RAW line and it bounces around my head sometimes -the spiders are clearly very crafty about their political relations but she was not going to hesitate for a MOMENT to consider the ramifications of killing the monarch of Regalia and we gotta respect that -docking points for the girlboss thing, though. 4/10
Stellovet -queen of insults you gotta be honest -had an INCREDIBLE amount of impact for only having like three lines. I remember being like 11 and reading so many fics on Fan Fiction Dot Net where she was a scheming villain -funny how Luxa thinks her endgame is just becoming a princess. She doesn’t care beyond that she just wants to be royalty 4/10
Chim -baby -ok she’s 5 -doesn’t do anything but look confused and help provide a gateway for Howard to look like a good person 5/10, for years of life. What’s even your name? Chimney?
Andromeda -she’s good. She is an Absolute Beast when she crosses the Waterway with Howard and Mareth, definitely saved Mareth’s life -loves Mareth very much :) -shuns Ares at first but comes around, we still gotta knock her for this though 5/10
Clawsin & Bloodlet & Ratriff -Some folks who go to Ripred’s side, Clawsin gets blinded from the Bane, Ratriff gets his arm ripped off by the Bane, it is what it is 5/10 collectively
Reflex -man’s got jokes -very helpful with the code -shoots streamers of silk around the room when they break it -came to Regalia secretly... secretly to whom? The spinners? The gnawers? Whatever, he’s a rebel either way -I had to look up his name though, so apparently not a lot of impact. Sorry Reflex 5/10
Treflex -announced he was joining the quest, then IMMEDIATELY died. Yes king give us nothing -made a good snack? Gross. 5/10
Cevian -the scene where they find her body is beautifully written and so heartbreaking. She’s the catalyst for the entire fourth book -gives Aurora the opportunity to make her first ever big impassioned speech. It’s what Aurora deserved -still, she doesn’t get any dialogue so I can’t vote her super high 5/10
Euripides -seems nice -always described as “Vikus’ big grey bat,” never just big bat, never just grey bat -tells Luxa to teach Gregor how to ride a bat because his neck is getting bruised lol -nice of him not to embarrass Gregor though 6/10 speak up for yourself, king
Pend -takes Boots back to Regalia after the moth brings her to the crawlers’ land -Vikus recognizes him by name which is really impressive since crawlers look pretty homogenous, although we are told Vikus is better than most at picking them out. Still, Pend is probably a high rolling crawler. 6/10
The scorpions -I know I’m supposed to be doing named characters but they’re pretty cool. The passage they’re in is a really fun read. Mad respect 6/10 I’ll see y’all in Scorpio szn, baby
Razor -showed SHAME and GUILT in the first book when he got called out by Ripred -raised Pearlpelt as if he was his own. In payment, Pearlpelt knocked him off a cliff and then tried to eat him to hide the evidence 6/10
Fangor and Shed -funny dudes. -apparently constantly drunk 6/10
Gox -Gox got shit DONE, okay? Gox got shit DONE. -would eat your carcass without a moment of hesitation. It’s fine. 6/10
Hermes -this guy is great! -brings Luxa her crown -gets seriously injured while protecting Lizzie on their way to Regalia -might be dead tbh no one ever says 7/10
Keeda -okay listen. Keeda’s great. Keeda is that warrior at the Battle of Marathon who ran all the way back to Athens to report their victory and immediately die, except Keeda was reporting that the gnawers were about to invade -listen I know she was dealing with some other stuff, but Vikus asks, “how many rats?” And she says “many. Many rats” ??? No estimate? “An army?” Whatever. We give her a pass. 7/10 RIP
Pandora -FUCK -her death was possibly the MOST disturbing passage I’ve ever read. I could see it so, so vividly in my head. Man I remember the horror -she just wanted to explore 7/10 but also 2/10 for emotional trauma
Queen Athena -ICONIC one-liner in Curse of the Warmbloods, absolutely demolishes the gnawers over their treatment of the nibblers -I’m really biased towards her because Athena is my favorite goddess -probably could’ve done more for Ares, especially as seeing she’s supposed to be perceptive and a really good judge of character and whatnot 7/10
Daedalus -flinches in fear when Boots says she’s gonna sing a for him, specifically -basically pledges his life to Lizzie in the event the Code Room is attacked so that’s very nice 7/10
Heronian -she’s in a full body cast, but that will not stop her. 8/10
Susannah -can we talk about how she lost both of her siblings and she just keeps trucking along? -REALLY wish we knew more about her -clearly Very Kind. Can you please ask your daughter to be nicer -takes really good care of everyone she comes across :) 8/10
Min -creaky old cockroach dance 9/10
Frill -was cool -taught everyone the marks of secret -taught Hamnet about pacifism and stuff too -I get the feeling she was wayyyyy more important to Hazard and Hamnet and their survival than Gregor’s narrative really dives into 9/10
Mr. Cormaci -nice man. Gave Gregor quarters. 10/10
Gregor’s grandma -cool lady, you can’t deny! -tells Gregor he can’t outrun his issues -has a super cool quilt -who IS Simon??? 10/10
Scalene, Euclidian, Root, Cube, and Newton -felt obligated to include all these kiddos because they are, in fact, named, even though none of them get any dialogue or anything else for that matter, really -Scalene was a little nibbler pup that found her mom in the Arena, Euclidian and Root are two more that the mom was looking for, Newton was one that no one claimed but some other guy was like “any of us will take him” which is :’) but also, so, so sad. -Cube was the pup Luxa named that ended up in the pit in the Firelands -Scalene and Newton survived a genocide and Euclidian which is baller any way you swing it 10/10
Tick -:( :( :( -the selflessness. -I shipped her with Temp when I was 8? I can’t answer for that 10/10
York -LMAOOOO this guy’s a LEGEND -7 ft tall. -fights with a zweihander. -says fuck, canonically. -hosts hundreds of nibbler refugees -very loving uncle to Luxa, helps her learn how to rule - his exasperated affection towards Howard when he finds out Howard stayed in the Firelands even after he got sick was very cute 10/10
Honorable mentions: Perdita and Dulcet Their roles are too big in the last book to be included in this list, but these ladies both get a 10/10.

The only ending everyone seems to ignore is v3 because it’s just... it’s just a mess.
How do feel about this game survivors? And do you think that everyone woke up from the simulator or tv show like sdr2 or only the survivors?
Hoo boy...
Honestly nonny, having only finished the dang thing yesterday I... don't know.
(I kinda went off into a spiel, so feel free to skip to the part where I talk about survivors and what I think happens next)
I understand the mixed response a LOT. I mean- I see what they were going for. The 4th wall break was cool, and the (sorta?) reappearance of past characters was pretty damn awesome. I like that the creators are definitely self aware- and there's a kind of 'learn to laugh at yourself' sort of thing.
On the other hand it can almost seem a little too mocking?
I get the whole yaknow. 'Fictional characters are aware they're fictional and rebel against their creators' thing but- like-?
As I mentioned before, thing is, Tsumugi is not us? We aren't exactly intentionally cruel? There's a BIG difference between the kind of fiction in our world and in their world.
What does Tsumugi call it? "Real fiction"?. Yeah- thing is- we don't have that. We don't have the technology for it, and I certainly hope we wouldn't abandon ethics for it either!!! We can't have 'real' fiction, because in our world, all fiction is fake! The closest you have is fiction about real people, perhaps, but- that's not even remotely the same thing?
So it does come across as a little... um- preachy.
We're supposed to represent the audience but... like- the audience fucking suck! What was that they said during the argument armament? "This guy should have died instead of Kaede!" Like- fucking hell. Imagine saying that to someone, who can HEAR you say it, and who's MURDER you could potentially watch unfold before your very eyes as a result of YOUR actions. I mean- look how empathetic some of us are to ACTUAL fictional characters. Could you imagine if we were in a similar situation to the outside world in V3???
Maybe it's because I keep imagining the v3 cast as like- sentient AI, instead of "just fiction". Because I can't imagine anyone being so sadistic or apathetic otherwise.
So uh- yeah. I don't... know how I feel about that. It's not- very satisfying?
With sdr2, the whole "none of this is real, the killing game is all a lie, you're in a fake world!" felt like a relief ! Whereas here it's more like- "what?? It's all fake? What the hell was the point then?!"
"Nothing matters!" vs "nothing matters..."
The whole HOPE VS DESPAIR, FUTURE VS PAST thing worked, because, well, it's something we can all understand. We have all felt hope and we have all felt despair. We've all, at some point in our lives, felt stuck in the past, unable to or scared to move on.
(Hey- some of us still feel like that now, even).
The first game was very simple- hope and despair. Still relatable, but fairly basic- effective to set up the foundation for the follow up.
The second game made things a little more complicated. Sometimes it's more complicated then just- choosing between Hope and Despair. We refuse to fall into Despair, but we can't just blindly have Hope.
So we choose the Future. We can't promise it'll be a good one OR a bad one. But whatever happens- we need to move on. The only way we can make things change is by making that choice, to create our OWN future.
V3 felt very... complex. It started to get kind of... uh... philosophical? And- don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with that. It just... it kind of shifted from TRUTH VS LIE to FICTION VS REALITY. And whilst the latter definitely sounds interesting- I don't really know if I liked the direction they took with it-? I wish they'd kept the focus on TRUTH VS LIE a lot more.
(Fiction and Reality are like extensions of Lie and Truth but- only to a certain extent? Really?)
It's kind of harder to get into the final fight in V3 because... what are you fighting? The outside world? I mean- I can't speak for the rest of you, but as far as I'm aware I'm not a fictional character.
(If I am- then wow someone's a reallly bad writer huh?)
I can relate to Hope. I can relate to Future.
I can't relate to Fiction.
I THOUGHT maybe the message was a warning of the dangers of escapism ('please dont go as far as to erase your own personality just to be a part of a type of fiction you like' definitely seems fitting for this fandom)- but the message "fiction has the power to change the world!" kinda contradicts that. I mean- I do like that message, but- I don't like the idea of a series about killing games being heavily influential-!
The whole problem was that people grew so obsessed with the series that they threw away their lives! Is that not the point you should be focusing on-!!!!
The outside world in this universe fucking sucks. So they changed their mind, big DEAL! that's not comforting knowing they let this shit continue for 53 seasons-! I mean, maybe Makoto and Hajime were all 100% fictional, but at some point they started putting real people into these games, and everyone was ok with that!
I just-
I'm glad Shuichi got through to them at last but...
Someone said something which resonated with me- "in a vacuum, this is good". Like... on it's own, I thought the ending was great! It was entertaining, for sure. And the whole concept and stuff was unexpected and interesting. You gotta give em points for originality.
The problem comes with it being the 3rd game in a series. (Ignoring UDG I mean-). When a series becomes a Trilogy, you gotta make it good. This is presumably the last game in the (main) series too. And- after the UTTER NARRATIVE DISAPPOINTMENT of dr3- can you blame people for wanting more? People fell in love for THH and SDR2 (and UDG even if its not part of the main series) for a reason- and, for me at least, a biiiig part of that reason was the continued storyline. The last chapter of sdr2 was the hypest shit EVER. when you see glimpses of the previous game bleed into this one, only for it to turn into what's like- a full crossover???? The previous game isn't just mentioned, it's a straight up sequel!!!! I had absolutely no idea Makoto and co would return (i thought the games were separate) so when i saw that they'd be interacting with the new cast- yoooooooooooooooo-!
Hell, even seeing alter ego again made me go WILD.
V3 plays upon these expectations, and subverts them, but... not necessarily in a good way? You- kind of feel cheated? (Idk if you're an avengers fan, but- it's like expecting *Endgame* and instead getting...
Well- Endgame).
The ending isn't bad persay it's just- not quite what one would expect? I can definitely understand why people are disappointed. The problem is, instead of standing alone, you can't help but consider it as part of the series. Individually, I don't think the ending was that weak or bad, but in comparison to the series as a whole?
Meh.
SURVIVORS
(Oh my- I really got off track, oh dear. I'll- get back to what you asked now.)
KEEBO
W H Y
They rllly gonna rub salt in the wound huh?
(Whilst i dont dislike the other survivors, there are a LOT of people i really really wanted to see make it to the end, and it's just the final god damn nail in the coffin to kill off the last of the few characters I came even close to liking the most-)
Killing keebo was dumb
Maki- I liked Maki quite a bit! She's a bit cold, yeah, but I warmed up to her after hearing her backstory.
I found it annoying (if understandable) that no one trusted her at first. I thought it was sweet that her, Kaito and Shuichi had this friendship trio. They really trusted each other- it was very refreshing. I also love me a strong girl. Her romance thing with Kaito was a little... forced. I'd have found it more meaningful if they kept it more subtle/ambiguous (though i suppose they needed smth to use against her in the final trial sooo-).
Himiko-
I-
*sigh*
Ok I'm going to say this once, and once only.
Someoneonthedrteamhasabigthingforlolis
OK! I SAID IT- AND IM NEVER SAYING IT AGAIN
No judgement here of course. Just. Uh. Y-yeah-
(I'm mainly kidding of course, idek if Himiko counts as a loli but-)
I mean... I'm not... the fondest of very small, childish girl characters (Saionji intensifies). I like a bit of childishness in a character but- i mean- it depends.
(I'll never recover from the "seductive whisper" thing from the love suite event
Never.
Never ever.)
Himiko comes across as like An Actual Child at times and at the start it was VERY annoying. Surprisingly, I warmed up to her eventually. I knew in advance she'd be a survivor so i kinda thought "well she's gonna stick around so might as well try to like her". I do appreciate that she underwent a character arc too, and it was sweet to see how she became a more active, determined person. I wish it hadn't taken Tenko's death for her to finally start changing but whatever. She is quite a cute character and after a while became more endearing then annoying.... (for the most part).
Was she in my top 3 picks for a survivor? No.
The top 10 even?
N-no-
I'm glad she's still alive though. SOMEONE damn well needs to be.
Tsumugi- ah. She's not a survivor, is she? I knew well in advance she was the mastermind so I didn't really warm up to her all that much during the final chapters, for obvious reasons.
Shuichi- if shuichi hadn't survived I think that would have been the breaking point for me, honestly.
Overall- uh... they aren't... the ideal picks. Shuichi is the only one I really wanted to see survive, I was neutral towards the others. Tbh I was just happy anyone was alive by the end of that.
Waking up- for the sake of my sanity, I like to think that after the survivors wake up, they threaten to sue and/or maim the shit out of the dr team if they don't start on reanimating their 'dead' friends right fucking now. Surely they gotta keep their consciousness' somewhere in those memories banks right? I mean- what if they ever wanted a "surprise return from the dead" plotline? Surely they gotta keep em somewhere? Right?
Whether or not they reawaken as their in-game or pre-game selves, who knows. Whichever you prefer, I guess. Maybe a mixture of both.

when I started shipping it if I did: their A support I guess. I was kinda curious about it earlier but that A support killed me
my thoughts: they’re endgame, and they’re the most publicly/canon male gay ship in the game excluding byleth ships. i love them
What makes me happy about them: they are good for each other, but not perfect. their supports and arcs revolve a lot around becoming healthier to each other and i really appreciate that
What makes me sad about them: that there is no happy ending for them outside of azure moon. you either get them killed with varying cruelty in cf, dimitri dies a pointless death in vw, and their situation is pretty ambiguous in ss. also the way they’re both so so warped because of their own suffering, happiness will come for them, but it will take TIME. also how the fandom treats them, to be fucking honest. people trying to be so progressive they kind of become regressive and all of that jazz. with different circumstances, they would probably be one of the most popular ships. not that i’m complaining, more cake for me
things done in fanfic that annoys me: none that i can think of, excluding awful stuff. i have things i like less or im neutral about but ehhh
things I look for in fanfic: both of them being absolutely smitten and embarrassed about any kind of intimacy, while very clearly wanting it. give me all of that medieval chivalry and period drama YEARNING and touching someone’s hand being TOO MUCH TO HANDLE i live for that
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: for dimitri, i’d say marianne (i’m not counting byleth because is your self insert a real character or nah). for dedue... ashe or mercedes. not that i truly ship any of those. i get why dimilix is popular, but i can only see it as platonic too
My happily ever after for them: they get married, restore fodlan and duscur, sleep well, adopt like 20 children and love them (and each other) a whole lot
who is the big spoon/little spoon: they take turns, tbh. both of them want the other to feel loved and cherished. i think that, in the practical sense, dedue would be mostly the big spoon bc dimitri can accidentally crush someone while he sleeps with that wild crest (and royal blood) of his
what is their favorite non-sexual activity: cooking, gardening, training, and reading. dimitri still can’t taste stuff but he does enjoy the texture and temperature and they both play with that. about reading, it’s canon that dimitri taught dedue how to read and write afaik, and also that one of dimitri’s most fond memories is about his father reading to him/telling him stories so. yeah. dimitri is terrible at delicate matters, but damn he does try hard
