So sorry this took so long, I had to think of the best way to do this because it was for a 10 page paper and only a portion is about Snow White. But I finally decided to just copy and paste the part about Snow White. Any incorrect grammar/spelling/wording in quoted text is not my own, and due to the fact that this is from a class paper I had to write it exactly. Under the cut for length, some necessary TW because of the original story of Little Snow-White none of these are in depth but they are mentioned: Death (childbirth), Attempted Murder (Poisoned Comb/Strangulation with Corset), Torture (Dancing in red hot shoes), Death (Dancing in red hot shoes), Death (falling). If you feel like more warnings are necessary, please let me know and I will add it.

The second, also Disney, piece that I want to address is Little Snow-White more widely known by the title Disney gave it Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I also feel like there are things to note from the mobile game Twisted Wonderland which focuses around Disney Villains and the characterization of them. This piece was much longer than the previous one at 2952 words. The reason I chose this one to talk about is it performs in a much more opposite way to The Frog-Prince with it having a much more heavy lean on characters rather than leaning heavily on characters for its iconography.

There are two characters in Little Snow-White that I feel like barely mentioning in terms of character, these being Snow White and her Wicked Stepmother. The first one I have to mention is Snow White being one of the most iconic fictional characters with her skin as white as snow, hair as black as ebony, and lips as red as blood. This description is, in my experience, one of the most widely talked about widely spoken descriptions of any character from a fairy tale. Directly from the source text “Soon afterward she had a little daughter who was as white as snow, as red as blood, and as black as ebony wood, and therefore they called her Little Snow-White. And as soon as the child was born, the queen died.” (Little Snow-White). With the added fact that she is also a child, there are definitely a lot of ways that she runs directly juxtaposed to the Wicked Stepmother. This runs directly parallel to how the Wicked Stepmother is described in the most vague of terms, again from the original text. “A year later the king took himself another wife. She was a beautiful woman, but she was proud and arrogant, and she could not stand it if anyone might surpass her in beauty. She had a magic mirror. Every morning she stood before it, looked at herself, and said: Mirror, mirror, on the wall, Who in this land is fairest of all? To this the mirror answered: You, my queen, are fairest of all. Then she was satisfied, for she knew that the mirror spoke the truth.” (Little Snow-White). Her characterization is solely based on the fact that she is the most beautiful person in the land. Her characterization is also built on the fact that she is jealous of a literal child who she is losing a beauty competition of her own creation to. I also think that the first two ways that she attempted to kill Snow also speak to her obsession with beauty, especially in the time that this fairy tale was originally told tells us a lot. From the corset used to attempt to suffocate her, to the hair comb used to increase beauty. Especially compared to the Wicked Stepmothers own death by hot shoes, best told directly from the story, “Then they put a pair of iron shoes into burning coals. They were brought forth with tongs and placed before her. She was forced to step into the red-hot shoes and dance until she fell down dead.” (Little Snow-White) and I feel like it is a fitting end for her character, the character obsessed with beauty dying in the most undignified way for the time. Especially considering that iron shoes were supposedly worn by scientists at this time.

In terms of the way that this was shown in the movie of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs the same concept happens. Snow keeps her same appearances that she is famous for: her snow white skin, blood red lips, and her hair as dark as ebony. Beyond this however there are some things about her that change drastically. The one that sticks out to me the most is her age. Though it is unstated in both her exact age it seems like there is a difference, with her being older, though still incredibly young. The biggest difference however is the Wicked Stepmother, who was turned into the Evil Queen in the film. On top of getting an actual character design for the Evil Queen we get to see a whole other side of her with the elderly crone that she becomes. The way that she attempts to kill Snow also changes, though its in a way that does not accentuate her character as it did in the original.

The final piece of evidence for characters, though wholly inconsequential to the overall plot of the fable, but is very important to the way that the characters have evolved over time, that being the most recent iteration of the concept of the characters, in the mobile game Twisted Wonderland being the character Vil Schoenheit and Neige LeBlanche. I feel like they are both very important to mention in terms of the progression of these characters, as it does the same thing that Almost There does for The Princess and the Frog and takes the tales and puts them into a more modern sense. First discussing the character that we know less about is Neige LeBlanche the one who is based off Snow White. The trend surprisingly continues wherein Snow White looks nearly identical to how she was described in the original fairy tale with Neige having the iconic snow pale skin and dark ebony hair. There are also many similarities in personality and, almost, in storyline. He follows very closely in the vain of the way that he was trapped in a battle of who is the fairest that he did not even know existed that almost led to his death. Beyond this the personalities are also extraordinarily similar. From the deep trust in people, to the fact that he has a near effortless charm that manages to capture the hearts of the nation, to the point where it is what saves him from the Evil Queens murder plot by the Huntsman.

In terms of the Vil, we again have many inconsistencies in the Evil Queen’s design, from lack thereof. Unlike the ever present visage of Snow, we get another viewing of the character of the Evil Queen. However, what does not change or waiver is the striving to be the fairest and most beautiful in the land, to the point of being willing to taint his own moral beauty for it. The most important part of the Evil Queen still remains, the struggles and the mission that the two are trying to accomplish are exactly identical.

In total I believe that Neige and Vil are truely amazing examples of bringing older characters into a place that more modern viewers can understand. The decision to turn them into a oneway competing celebrities but overall keep the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in tact, much more so than any other tale in the game is one that only bolsters these characters.

In terms of plot, both the film and the original fairy tale follow more or less the same plot. The Evil Queen grows increasingly jealous of Snow White, to the point where she attempts to have The Huntsman kill Snow. However, she survives and the Queen is given faulty proof that Snow White is dead, until the magic mirror alerts her to the fact that Snow is alive and living with the dwarfs. However, this is where the stories divulge greatly, whereas in the original story she makes three attempts at killing Snow: the corset, the comb and the poisoned apple. Then the Queen leaves Snow White “dead” in the cabin and leaves to return to her home. However, after a long period of time, in which her body does not decay the prince happens across her, and is gifted the coffin by the dwarfs. When being transported, the coffin shakes and the apple chunk falls out, reviving her. Then Snow White and the Prince decide to wed, and after inviting the Wicked Stepmother to the wedding, they kill her by putting her in hot iron shoes and forcing her to dance until she dies. In the Disney film, after only receiving the apple and being killed by that, the dwarfs return home chasing off the Evil Queen and causing her to plummet to her death. She is eventually laid to rest in a glass coffin when the Prince happens across her body, and decides to kiss her. This act of true love and true loves kiss breaks the spell, causing the spell to break. After this, they simply ride off into the sunset to live happily ever after.

Hm. So I really desperately want the Loki show to be good but I saw a new interview with the writer and I have to say. Some of it really concerned me.

"Taking an organisation that is so soul-crushing by-the-book, so to speak, in their managing of time and dropping the most chaotic character in all of the MCU smack-dab in the middle of that is just amazing juxtaposition".

Really? Name one prank Loki has ever pulled on screen.

The issue here is that Loki isn’t the most chaotic character in the MCU. By any stretch the imagination. This interview seems to have conflated comics!Loki and MCU!Loki, even though they are quite different characters. Even the most cursory watch of Thor 2011 and TDW should reveal that. When in the MCU has Loki’s motivation ever been about chaos or pranks??!

In Thor 2011 he was simmering with very legitimate hurt and resentment (neither of which have anything to do with chaos OR pranks!) but what ultimately drove him to action was the extremely valid fear that Thor would start a war. He used trickery not for fun but to try to delay Thor’s coronation and thus forestall violence. Things don’t go as planned, resulting in the unravelling of his life and culminating in his SUICIDE ATTEMPT at the end of the movie.

In The Avengers he is being mind controlled and forced to conquer earth. His truer self wants to escape Thanos who has been torturing him. In TDW he wants to escape the horrific prison he has been confined in, alone for all eternity and also to avenge his mother. (I think there is compelling evidence that he also is planning to die in combat because he doesn’t want to return to prison and prefers death). In Ragnarok his motivations include avoiding Thor’s rage, escaping the clutches of the Grandmaster (a terrifyingly powerful being who vastly outclasses him in terms of raw power), and protecting the Asgardian people.

Even Thor is more chaotic than Loki in the MCU. He tends to charge into things without always thinking first, and is far more mercurial. Think of how he started a war over an insult in Thor 1, or how he initially attacked the Avengers. The actual agents of chaos and wacky hijinks in the MCU tho are neither Thor nor Loki, but rather the Guardians of the Galaxy. Maybe the Loki writers watched the Guardians movies by mistake? (Pro tip: if the character speaking looks like a raccoon, it’s not Loki.

Loki stabbing Laufey according to this interview: “it was just a prank bro!”

“Loki is proper and pompous, Owen is folksy and down-to-earth – so right away, energies clash in a way that’s harmonious.”

Um??!? Ok first off. Owen Wilson = real person. Loki = fictional character. So it's weird to juxtapose them, but I’m going to assume he meant to say “Mobius.” Also ??! Loki is...neither of those things? This quote sounds like what would happen if someone who had never been to the UK or seen the Loki films looked up "what is a stereotype about British people?" and just made that Loki's character.

All the tremendous nuance and depth and complexity and pathos of Loki’s character, and what they come up with is the generic “pompous and proper”??Also, the incorrect assessments of Loki’s character aren’t even consistent. How can he be both an agent of chaos AND super prim and proper?! Those things are contradictory.

And seriously. WHEN is Loki pompous and proper? Is this referring to Loki’s speaking style? He uses the same Asgardian speaking style that Thor uses. It’s more formal in Thor 2011, Avengers, and Thor: The Dark World, and a little more casual in Ragnarok because of a change in writing style. (Though even in Ragnarok while they speak more casually they never use earth slang like “gonna” or “crap.”)

Anyone who had seen Thor 2011 would remember that THOR was the arrogant and pompous one at the beginning of the movie, and that this was meant to contrast with Loki who was very quiet and internalized and repressed. Loki’s whole origin story happened because no one listened to or respected him so he resorted to desperate measures to achieve what he believed was right (the prevention of a war!) and then had a mental breakdown due to the way circumstances unfolded.

And, yes Loki carries himself like royalty. But that’s not because he’s pompous. It’s because he IS royalty. He's literally a prince! Loki doesn’t have a high opinion of himself at all. One of his major issues is that he’s consumed by self-hatred. This again feels like they’ve conflated comics!Loki and MCU!Loki.

It’s weird that I have yet to see any of the show writers talk about even 1 aspect of Loki's character that they like or find sympathetic or interesting or emotionally compelling.

(Also. Mobius is a bureaucrat who works for a heartless organization that murders people for the slightest show of noncompliance. And he apparently doesn’t care that Loki was tortured by Thanos. That doesn’t make him “folksy” or “down-to-earth.” It makes him complicit in atrocities.)

This again ties back into Disney’s bizarre new positioning that this show is the first time Loki has been out of his comfort zone, which utterly ignores the fact that in his every appearance so far Loki’s story has been defined by lack of control. Loki being in the power of people who use him, lie to him, mistreat him, threaten him, gaslight him, and/or scapegoat him is hardly new. It’s what’s been happening to him in every movie.

Okay so I know this is a SDV Incorrect quote blog but I really wanted to show off my SDV headcanon’s so you may ignore this post if you wish (I’ll go back to the normal posts after this, I have like 13 quotes queue’d up right now)

Headcanon’s under the cut:

1.Alex’s real first name is Alexander he just prefers to go by Alex

2.Alex is a trans male so he was born female but transitioned to male at age 13

3.The bachelors ages are (listed youngest to oldest):

Sebastian: 19 (one month older then Alex)

4.Despite Sam being older then him Alex is taller (if you put them side by side Sam looks taller but that’s only cause of his hair if you flattened it you could see Alex was taller)

Haley and Alex kind of have a Hazel and Xander from Bunk’d relationship where they’re kinda friends but one of them *cough cough* Haley *cough* has a huge crush on the other to where it’s at yandere point- Haley is not QUITE as crazy about Alex that Hazel is about Xander and unlike Hazel Haley can hide the craziness she does have around people but when it’s just her and Alex she’s all crazy and clingy-

9: Elliott is an amazing actor but a horrid horror-movie actor (It’s just his screams are unrealistic he will literally just say “Aaaah” otherwise it’s the same as the rest of his acting) (This scream-glitch is an easy fix if you yell “Ghost” more on that in 10)

10: Elliott is TERRIFIED of ghosts even those cute and/or clearly fake ghosts (Why else do you think Spirits Eve/Halloween has Skeletons every year and not ghosts? No one wants to scare anyone Too bad.) Actually Alex dared Elliott to watch the Disney Junior show Vampirina which went fine until Demi came on screen- Elliott literally wet himself and screamed for 3 whole hours- (Poor Alex who had to listen to that the whole time-)

11: Elliott treats his pocket crab as his ACTUAL son, not as his pet but as his actual biological son (it’s actually really cute)

15: Both Abigail and Sebastian used to have hair to match their parents (Abby’s was brown (Like said in game) and Sebastian’s was Ginger) but due to their “Unusual” parents (Abigail: Wizard Sebastian: Krobus) their hair changed color when they got older and their mothers just pretended they died their hair so both the towns people and Abigail and Sebastian themselves would not freak out

16: Sebastian has snake bite piercing's but he only wears them when he’s alone (he got them in the first place cause 1: Sam dared him and 2: he decided it would be a fun way to rebel against dead to Sebastian Demetrius, he didn’t have to keep them but he ended up liking the look)

17: Sebastian owns a giant frog plush, it’s twice the size of him, is really soft and is incredibly fat (it’s to the point it’s just a circle that has stubby legs) he loves it more then anything Excluding Alex but he does not want anyone finding out he loves it let alone owns it so he stuffs it under his bed when people are in and/or near his room

18: Sebastian’s first word was literally “Froggy”

25: Sebastian has vampire powers (cause he is a vampire (Hc 5)), he knows about them and is chill about it but he does not use them unless necessary cause he just does not feel the need to use them otherwise (His powers include, immortality (he also can’t be killed cause on my take on Vampires the stuff that “Traditionally” harms/kills them is just a mith and actually does nothing to them), super strength, increased speed, fast self-healing, telekinesis (I know this is not “Traditionally” a vampire power but Seb does have it) and the ability to change into a bat)

26: Both Sebastian and Elliott are actually pretty jacked (Not Alex level jacked but still) you just can’t see it unless they’re shirt-less (but in Seb’s case at least loose the hoodie)

27: Harvey’s doctor’s mallet weapon is just as heavy and as big as himself so he rarely goes into combat cause he has trouble welding his own weapon-

Harvey: Time to explore the mines! *grabs his giant doctors mallet*

Harvey: Nope going down. *falls backward with a thud*

28: Elliott carries at least one very sharp pencil with him at all times so if he sees a very annoying person or a slime that escaped the mines he’ll grab it and go *StAb*

29: Everyone else makes Hermit jokes around Elliott which he finds funny and annoying at the same time (They used to do the jokes about Sebastian as well but they stopped cause when they did Seb strangled them Darth Vader style) Ex of the hermit jokes:

Can we really call SW a fairy tale? Because the modern understanding of the fairy tale is very much shaped by Disney and that’s just in the 20th and 21st century. Older fairy tales tended to be a lot darker if I’m not mistaken, and SW always seemed to draw on older things like myths and heroic journeys. I’ve listened to the commentary where JJ said “if” SW was a fairy tale, but I think he was making a comparative point about how it wasn’t a fairy tale. I don’t know I’m probably wrong

Yes, we can call it a fairy tale. George Lucas has called it a fairy tale multiple times.

“Rather than do some angry, socially relevant film…I realized there was another relevance that is even more important — dreams and fantasies, getting children to believe there is more to life than garbage and killing…Once I got into STAR WARS, it struck me that we had lost all that — a whole generation was growing up without fairy tales. You just don’t get them anymore, and that’s the best stuff in the world — adventures in far-off lands. It’s fun.” (x)

“I realized a more destructive element in the culture would be a whole generation of kids growing up without that thing, because I had also done a study on, I don’t know what you call it, I call it the fairy tale or the myth. It is a children’s story in history and you go back to the Odyssey or the stories that are told for the kid in all of us.” (x)

“Well, I had a real problem because I was afraid that science-fiction buffs and everybody would say things like, “You know there’s no sound in outer space”. I just wanted to forget science. Additionally, George talks often about how Star Wars is not meant to be realistic but rather irrationally romantic and idealistic:

Jesus, I’m hoping that if the film accomplishes anything, it takes some ten-year-old kid and turns him on so much to outer space and the possibilities of romance and adventure. Not so much an influence that would create more Wernher von Brauns or Einsteins, but just infusing them into serious exploration of outer space and convincing them that it’s important. Not for any rational reason, but a totally irrational and romantic reason.” (x)

“You can’t, and how do you explain a Wookiee to an audience, and how do you get the tone of the film right, so it’s not a silly child’s film, so it’s not playing down to people, but it is still an entertaining movie and doesn’t have a lot of violence and sex and hip new stuff? So it still has a vision to it, a sort of wholesome, honest vision about the way you want the world to be.” (x)

“I wanted to make a kids’ film that would strengthen contemporary mythology and introduce a kind of basic morality. Everybody’s forgetting to tell the kids, ‘Hey, this is right and this is wrong.‘” (x)

So.

Yes. Star Wars is a fairy tale. Period.

Not only is it a fairy tale, but it is a fairy tale that does not even pretend to be real science fiction. George expresses total disinterest in making Star Wars anything resembling ‘hard’ sci fi, as well as a total disdain for realism. Star Wars, as George says, is planetary romance in the vein of Edgar Rice Burroughs (John Carter, etc) whose purpose is to uplift children (yes— Star Wars is for children) with a modern fairy tale that touches them the same way campy pulp like Flash Gordon touched George Lucas. Star Wars is supposed to inspire children and the child in all of us to aspire to a better, more moral way of life. It’s supposed to make us believe, as George says, that ‘there is more to life than garbage and killing’; to remind us ‘of the possibilities of romance and adventure.’ Ultimately, it doesn’t matter what you think the definition of a fairy tale is. This is what George means when he talks about Star Wars being a fairy tale. Pulp, romance, and idealism taking people to the stars. There are so many quotes by George detailing this from one article that I quoted alone that I couldn’t fit them all. To claim that Star Wars ever was about realism or some sort of gritty dark mythos in outer space is just ignorant.

Additionally, I think you are making a false dichotomy between myths and fairy tales. They are the same thing. Fairy tales are an iteration of mythology. Older mythology is not magically darker than current mythology— the Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen are not the only people who ever wrote fairy tales, and frankly speaking, they are early modern authors from a historical standpoint. To set up the Hero’s Journey in contrast with the optimism of modern fairy tales is also just…factually not correct. The basic steps of the Hero’s Journey are in Campbell’s own words:

“A hero ventures forth from the world of common day into a region of supernatural wonder: fabulous forces are there encountered and a decisive victory is won: the hero comes back from this mysterious adventure with the power to bestow boons on his fellow man.” (x)

The structure of the Hero’s Journey is one of leaving the ordinary world, encountering trials and suffering, reaching the Abyss (this is Campbell’s term) or lowest point, overcoming this abyss, and then returning to the ordinary world full of wisdom to share with your fellow man. To suggest that this journey is a) separate or different than the structure of the fairy tale or b) more ‘realistic’ or ‘darker’ than a fairy tale is incorrect. Fairy tales are examples of the Hero’s Journey, and the Hero’s Journey basically outlines a happy ending: the hero overcomes his demons and returns victorious back to his home to share what he has learned with others.

Lastly, I don’t agree with your interpretation of JJ’s commentary quote. The quote is:

“For example, we looked at it like a Western, or a fairy tale…You’re probably going to have a castle and a prince and a princess, if you’re looking at a fairy tale. We wanted to have these fundamental, not cosmetic, but prerequisite elements, these locations in which we can set our new story and our new characters…But when his mask comes off, you see Adam Driver, and he just looks like a sort of prince.“ (x)

So, not to be rude, but I think you’re just not interpreting this quote correctly. JJ didn’t say, ‘If this were a fairy tale x would happen, but it’s actually y so z will happen.” He explicitly said —like literally, I have it bolded—:

“We looked at it like a Western, or a fairy tale.”

JJ is explicitly saying that they viewed TFA as a fairy tale, and because they viewed it as a fairy tale, they included elements like castles, and princes, and princesses, and then goes on to say Adam Driver is made up to look like a prince. He’s saying: if Star Wars is a fairy tale, then it must have these elements, and then goes on to explain how it does, as a direct consequence of intentionally shaping it to be one.

Future Sanders Sides Teacher AU Fic Ideas (Pt 1)

Just a little something I’ve been thinking about writing for a long time now??

These are just ideas!! I might make oneshots here and there, but I want to try and make this into an actual story on Wattpad or something during summer vacation.

Summary: The sides are teachers in a highschool that Thomas and his friends go to.

-It’s also sort of a human AU as well. The sides will naturally have different last names, which I have not entirely decided yet. (+Afterschool they all have part time jobs across the street from each other but there’ll be more about that in a part two or three I’ll try getting to in the future)

[[Characters]]

Logan:

-Science teacher (Living Environment honors and/or Chemistry)

-Part time job as a librarian

-Wants to keep being a teacher

-Speaks fluently in salty

-His choice of wear is a mix between casual and formal. Slicked back hair (with hair gel), tightly fitted polo shirts, leather belts, jeans and his signature blue and black tie

-Definitely wears different ties with a theme fitted for each and every holiday

-Can accurately quote books off the top of his head

-When he's too tired to do anything, he just binges Doctor Who and Sherlock with his classes

-(Based on this one Logan skit on Thomas’ insta I think y’all know what I’m talking about) He brought an entire toaster that he keeps in his classroom just so he could eat toast with Crofter’s 24/7.

-He eats Crofter’s with everything he eats and it scares everyone sometimes. Like he’ll just be casually teaching as he spreads the jam onto a slice of pizza and everyone’s a little concerned

-Once during a test he sees one of his students struggling and suddenly their stomach rumbles loudly and as everyone laughs he just makes them a sandwich and tells them that they could take the test tomorrow

-Whenever a student doodles on one of their assignments, he finishes the picture with a crayon and he loves it when they see it and smile it makes his day

-He’s that teacher that you’re terrified of at first but then you realize they’re awesome (He has a resting bitchface that scares the heck out of everyone on the first day of school)

-Him being a sort of psychologist toward his students and they come to him (and Patton) with problems and mental breakdowns. He’s terrible at the comforting part of what to do when a person’s crying, but he’s excellent at figuring out the students’ problem or problems at helping them change their schedule/bad habits to fix it

-Him reassuring his students that-no matter what society says-just because they aren't good at math or science doesn't mean that they're useless and stupid+grades are not everything

-His students adoring him for being so realistic and understanding that school can be stressful sometimes

-His students calling him mom

-Him being so sleep deprived one day that as he was writing something on the board, he used incorrect grammar and once he got corrected, he just slowly walks over to his desk and sits under it for a solid minute

-He hardly ever loses his cool. Ever. He handles those few immature kids in his class with ease, threatening them firmly or just completely roasting them so that they’re too busy laughing/being stunned to disrupt class.

-But once he just gave up. He silently turns around and s n a p s.

-He lets out this unholy screech that echoes throughout the school and shakes the nearby classrooms and scares away the birds perched on a tree outside and the chalk in his hand breaks in half the students are terrified they’ve never heard a sound of that volume from Logan’s mouth and they’re wondering if this is is what they’ll hear when the pits of hell breaks open at their feet-

-And then Logan just pauses. He takes a long drink from the water bottle on his desk, sets it down, adjusts his tie, clears his throat, then continues on with the lesson like nothing happened. Everyone agrees that that’s the scariest thing they’ve ever seen and heard in their lives.

Patton:

-Art and home economics teacher (He has one homeroom art class in the morning, then a home ec class after lunch where he teaches stuff like cooking/baking, time management, money management, food, etc...)

-Part time job as a barista

-Wants to own his own bakery (or just be a stay at home dad)

-Speaks fluently in puns

-Whenever he has a student that he thinks is in a bad mood, he personally tapes some sort of dessert he baked to their locker on a plate with a nice post-it note taped to it

-His students call him dad

-During a rainy day, he sees some kid waiting for their late parent to pick them up outside at dismissal and he walks up to them and covers their head with his cardigan and invites them inside his classroom instead of waiting in the rain

-He frequently gets into pun/prank wars with his students

-Depending on how he’s feeling, when he sees a student sleeping in class, he’ll either blast an airhorn into their ear or lay a blanket on their back there’s no in between

-Once his class was so loud and rambunctious and he got so stressed out because he didn’t know how to deal with it that he just started crying and his students had to comfort him and no one dared to make him cry ever again

-He once forgot where he lost his glasses while he was cooking something and he asked his students to help him find them and they looked for them the entire period and no one could find it

-No one told him his glasses were right atop his head.

Roman:

-Drama teacher (Sometimes subs for the Chorus teacher, who is always absent because she's very sickly)

-Part time job as a florist/works at a flower shop

-Wants to be a future actor on broadway

-Speaks fluently in Disney songs/musical references

-The most fashionable out of the four. He has a bunch of different outfits depending on the season. For winter and fall, he wears lots of sweaters, leather jackets, dress pants, scarves and sometimes flannel around the waist. For summer and spring, he’ll be wearing button downs, sunglasses, loose t-shirts, and jeans/shorts.

-During play rehearsal, he puts on a red sash (and his Princey clothing basically) because he claims he needs to get ‘in the play spirit’ (when in reality he just likes wearing his old prince costume from a play he was in in the past)

-Not all of his students like him (he can be vv loud and extravagant), but his theater kids honestly adore him. They love his passion for singing, acting and musicals.

-They cheer Roman on and completely support his dream of performing on broadway one day. They secretly (and shamelessly) support him every chance they can get on social media.

-That teacher that, when he sees an artsy student, will catch them drawing during class and instead of telling them to pay attention will fanboy over their art and tell them how amazing it looks so usually art students also love him

-Knows the latest gossip about a lot of the students in the school

-Purposely casts the two students he knows has a crush on each other as the two main characters that have to stage kiss

-One of his students gave him a Burger King crown and he cried and wore it for the rest of the week and attacked any other teacher that tried to take it off his head (*cough cough* Virgil *cough*)

Virgil:

-English teacher

-Part time job as a tattoo artist/works at a tattoo shop

-Wants to be a YouTuber/blogger (and write stories online)

-Speaks fluently in sarcasm/memes

-On the first day of school he wears normal teacher like clothing, but then the rest of the year he wears hoodies and casual t-shirts and sweatpants that he hides under a long jacket (he’s technically supposed to be all formal and whatever, but he ain’t got time for that)

-He dreams to get this original story he's been working on for years published one day. This story is basically a fantasy AU involving characters based off him, Logan, Patton and Roman.

-When he reads excerpts from books, his kids go wild because he can do Thomas' narrator/storyteller voice (the one where his voice drops a million octaves)

-Whenever a woman/girl speaks, his voice jumps up a million octaves and he purposely squeaks/sounds like someone on helium and it gets his classes cracking up

-The kind of guy that uses the dankest of memes on worksheets/in presentations

-A lot of students really love him. The ones who like ELA are in love with his writing and storytelling. The one who don't even like ELA still like his class because he's good at keeping them engaged.

-Just like Logan, he has a natural talent for mercilessly roasting those immature kids that fool around in his class

-He'll randomly ramble away and sink into a hole of existential crisis but his students still like that side of him because it's just relatable.

-He's incredibly flexible and he can be found sitting/lying on places that probably shouldn't be sat/laid on. Once he was just casually reading a book sitting in one of those pretzels on his desk and a student screeched.

-He constantly gets compared to a cat. He hisses at Roman when he's frustrated with him, the students find him on top of furniture that isn't meant to be sat on, he says perfect as 'purrfect' and his noise twitches a lot. He used to be like nahh whatcha talking about until Roman gifted him with a cat plushie one day and he finally admitted that cats were his favorite animal (Bonus-His students joke about him being a furry a lot)

-His artsy students draw him fanart all the time and he loves it sooo much. (Bonus-Someone drew him, Pat, Roman and Lo as cats and he almost cried)

1. Of the fics you’ve written, which is your favorite and why?

None of ya’ll will probably know this one, but my favourite is actually ‘The Otome Game’ which is an Inuyasha Sesskag fanfic. It’s a fanfiction that is very close to my heart despite how cliched it is, because while just being very enjoyable for me to write - I got to tap into my love of dating sims and blend it with Inuyasha.

I wrote it during the time something awful happened to me irl. I remember feeling so lost and damaged by that event, that this fanfic was the only thing not hurt by what had happened. It was separate, and it was mine. It was a slice of something harmless, with characters I adored, and I had people who wanted to read it, to see where it would go. So despite my grief, I kept writing, and the sesskag community (both on Dokuga and fanfiction.net) was so supportive and loving I honestly don’t think I could have repaired myself enough to function normally as quickly as I did without them. So yeah, a silly fanfiction about Kagome getting sucked into a dating sim is my favourite ^^ You can read it - here, or on fanfiction.net if you’re curious ^^

10. What are some facts readers may not know about [title]?

I’m not sure which one you want me to talk about XD But I’ll talk about the Diabolik Fairy tales.

Yuma’s chapter was heavily inspired by the film - The Company of Wolves. It’s a very…odd film, but I got a lot of inspiration from it.

Laito’s chapter was heavily inspired by the Little Mermaid, not the book or the Disney version, no, the brutal 1975 animated version that made me cry because of some stupid dolphin at the end.

When trying to pick which fairy-tale I wanted to do for Kou, I jumped back and forth between The Happy Prince (because there’s a chibi of him as the character) or doing the story of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, because of Kou’s two personas. I settled on Dorian Grey because I loved the movie (Ben Barnes *le sigh*) before reading the book and realising how much the movie crapped all over the source material.

During the writing for each chapter I did at least some research on the source material for each fairy tale, sometimes reading the originals or watching short films. The Reiji chapter was more so inspired by the very short but impressive Cinderella (Aschenputtel) film, by Lotte Reiniger (1922) which had silhouettes of the characters moving frame by frame. I wrote an entire essay for college about this ONLY because of my research for this fan-fiction, which I find quite funny.

I definitely feel like playing ‘Rose of Winter’ on steam inspired me to write the heroine for Shuu’s chapter, which is why she was a knight.

The scene where the heroine from Ruki’s chapter pulls back the red curtain to find a bizarre and shady sex display club was inspired by the film Eyes Wide Shut (even though I didn’t like it)

Some people interpret Yuma’s chapter to mean that Yuma was in fact a wolf shape-shifter the entire time, when actually my intention was to show that no, he was just a cannibal. (But I don’t mind people’s interpretations, it’s why I left some of the endings slightly ambiguous)

Likewise with Kanato’s character, some people thought the heroine had just become immobile at the end of the chapter when in actuality, she’d died and Kanato was parading her corpse around everywhere as if she were Teddy because he’d lost his mind.

My favourite of the chapter’s written is Shuu’s one.
