Out of every single relationship in the Whoniverse, whatever the Doctor and the Master have going on just hits different. Like a rock. I’m sure everyone feels this way about their fave Doctor ship, but my experience is that once you go Thoschei, you cannot go back. Given the narrative symmetry, character foiling, interwoven parallels, tragically dramatic irony, frustratingly unspeakable ambiguous romance that defies traditional ship canonization in the true chaotic spirit of Doctor Who, and a unique backstory setup that allows the characters to have history that other individuals cannot match, while fate (and the format of the show) pushes them together over and over again indefinitely, without hope of lasting reconnection lest the setup break, the Doctor and Master’s codependent anti-soulmate life or death partnership arguably cheapens every other pairing beyond comparison. Their tragedy never leaves you. (And keeps you up at night)

So Here’s What We’re Gonna Do.

Now, if this were any other time of year, I probably would have chosen a different way to settle the Antigone vs Lloyd Garmadon controversy.

However,

The date is November 3rd, 2023. An international holiday is upon us.

I only realized this, this morning. And I feel, as the runner of yet another hydrogen bomb of a tournament on this coming fateful day, we must celebrate appropriately.

So no matter who the votes lay in favor for, come this evening, we’re treating this like we’ve treated ties.

For those new here, when a poll ends the week in a tie, it would be promptly followed by a 24-hour, no-propaganda tiebreaker poll.

On all sides, there is weight to every argument. Perhaps this final sweep was illegitimately executed and Antigone would not fairly win. Perhaps this sweep was the case of Friday being a significant meme in the fandom, coinciding with blogs of large followings reblogging it, making the win perfectly legitimate. Some may even think that despite if the votes are legitimate, the Antigone fandom OR the Ninjago fandom have been unruly and out of line with each other all week, and thus neither deserve it.

Now I, as the pollrunner, am as neutral as I can possibly be in this. But no matter which of these may be true or not true, it’s impossible to make a judgment over this current poll.

So considering the golden opportunity of a day ahead of us, let’s make this fun again, shall we?

No matter the results of current poll, starting at 12am and ending at 11:59pm Pacific Time on November 5th, 2023, we will have another poll to determine the true winner between Antigone and Lloyd Garmadon, to continue into Round 4. No matter the results of this one-day poll, the winner and loser will be final. No changes, no disqualifications, it will end here.

This poll will have no propaganda, attached or answered on the blog.

It will have no replies.

It will have no reblogs.

no real cheese will ever live up to the phantom taste i imagined the cartoon cheese from tom and jerry cartoons i watched as a kid tasted like.

this is the pinnacle of the cheese-based foodgroups. i think it was less the visual appeal (almost none, it looks like a dried sponge half the time) and more the fervent desperation with which the mouse pursued it. the permeating lust for this cheese.

#poetry. #kimon friar. #odysseus elytis. #ancient greek poetry. #rereading the sovereign sun as summer sweeps to a close and this stuck out so lovingly. #i remember finding this book tucked away in a small and unfrequented section of my library a handful of years ago. #it swept something in me / something ancient and full of light. #i had to find my own used copy as soon as i realized i couldn't keep it / mark it as my own. there is such love taken into it? #the translation of so much intimate glory and understanding of the universe / of life? the attempt of it. #it feels crafted so carefully. the importance something that could not be understated? i return to it every couple of years - #to reignite that spark. the language in it is just. spellbinding. it reminds me of a warm breeze at twilight / where the light is dim / #and everything feels possible in a way it was not before. #might post more of my favourites !!! just had to share this ending piece of the introduction 💕

Unless someone can prove to me that this is a legitimate late-game sweep, I’m very tempted to disqualify any votes for this poll coming in after 2am Friday, and give the win to Lloyd.
