Finch finally got a redesign that suits her more... With that, if you want to know more about my riptide oc, info below! :D
WARNING: there's A LOT of yapping
Finch, originally named Farren Van Aalsburg, stands as a 22-year-old pirate whose legacy is intertwined with the notorious ship, The Arbiter.
Known for her ruthless and calculated leadership, Finch's mere approach to piracy would send ripples of apprehension through the ranks of sailors and even unsettle the most seasoned navy officers. The very mention of her crew's arrival was often met with foreboding whispers. In taverns, pirates would share knowing smirks over their mugs of beer, while officers would exchange wary glances. They'd caution one another,
"Retribution's coming."
Farren's lineage traces back to a well-known navy captain, Heimer Van Aalsburg, praised for his adeptness in handling internal conflicts and hailed as one of the foremost strategists in naval warfare. Alongside his family, composed of Farren, her stepsister Hestia, and stepmother Alisei, they resided aboard a wonderful mahogany vessel, embarking on voyages from one port to another.
For Heimer, Farren was the centre of his universe, he couldn't have wished for a better daughter. Their connection strengthened, particularly in the wake of Farren's mother, Julith Ferin's passing when Farren was just four years old.
The bond between Farren and her younger sister was equally profound, they had an unbreakable bond from the very moment they met. However, amidst this familial setting, Alisei nursed a vicious, festering resentment, convinced that Farren overshadowed Hestia in Heimer's eyes. This animosity later culminated in a tragic incident that took place one, stormy night.
In an unfortunate turn of events, Farren finds herself overboard, her desperate attempt to grasp the ship resulting in a severe injury to her right arm. Eventually, the raging waters below are quick to swallow her.
As her consciousness returns, she kneels before a colossal leviathan. The creature presents a solemn pact: it will guide her to the nearest vessel and mend her injured arm, with the condition that she accepts the burden of becoming the guardian of the seas until her last dying breath. An oath that binds her to a life on the move, forbidding her to settle on solid ground or abandon her duty. With hesitation, she agrees.
One fateful day, Skip, a hardy half-orc fisherman, discovers a young girl ensnared in his ship's nets. Swift to lend a helping hand, he extends not only a refuge but a genuine home for the girl, determined to help navigate her through the uncertain future.
Now residing on a small isle, a mere few days were enough for her to befriend a whole flock of zebra finches, who trailed behind her like loyal companions. Considering the girl didn't remember anything, let alone her name, Skip decided that the name 'Finch' would be more than a suitable choice.
Finch grapples with a zero to no recollection of herself and her family. Her only tangible link is a gilded medallion etched with the initials 'J.H.F’ accompanied by a few fleeting memories of her father.
Finch becomes a stalwart protector, earning recognition as the island's guardian. Fueled by an unyielding commitment, she gathers a crew at the age of 16. Two years later, they embark on their first voyage.
Her four years at sea culminates in a fierce clash with the navy, leaving Finch and her childhood friend, Shelby, as the lone survivors. In the wake of the tragedy, Finch confronts a maelstrom of emotions, grappling with guilt, simmering anger, and the rekindling of a long-suppressed fear of the unforgiving ocean.
"What value does a fierce pirate captain, one who commands the treacherous seas yet harbours such fear, truly possess?" - Niklaus, on their last meeting.
Finch and Niklaus have a history of encounters, each one more significant than the last.
Their first meeting took place when Finch was just 16, in the midst of assembling her crew. Niklaus dangled the promise of information regarding her family, but only if she'd abandon her oath. She refused, even poking fun at him the whole time—a stance she maintained on numerous occasions.
The second encounter, at the age of 22, followed a previously mentioned, deadly battle. Niklaus presented her an offer to turn back time, still on the condition of letting go of her oath. Once again, she refused, stating he's a fool if he thinks she'll ever give it up. After a few humiliating attempts at bribing her, he gives up.
A mere few weeks later, their paths crossed once more. This time, Niklaus proposed a lasting solution to banish her deep-seated fear of the ocean in return for a future favour. He pledged to provide a specific time, place, and a duel to be won, one she'd be obliged to fulfil, that is not linked to her oath. After careful consideration, and a few conditions, Finch shook on the arrangement (and still made fun of him the entire time).
(where are we in the timeline as of that moment? this would be around the time when silly riptide pirates are stuck in the Feywild...)
What's next for Finch? Well, she'd probably take this opportunity to uncover more about her past, of course with Shelby's help. And then maybe she'll bribe a cute moon sorcerer to join her crew...

NAKSHATRAS AS GODDESSES
3/27
🔪KRITTIKA🔥
DISCLAIMER: This is based solely on my research and the patterns that I saw. I can't promise that I'm gonna be sure in all the coorelations, but I'm going to attribute each nakshatra a goddess that I think fits it the closest. If you're dissapointed, to make up for it, I'm going to list some other deities in the end that I think also fit the nakshatra. Don't come for me if you think I'm wrong, be respectful in the comments if you think so and have fun 🤍
This was easy and almost immidiate. The associations between this goddess and Krittika are so apparent I didn't hesitate for a second. Look out for other deities similar to her in the end.
Brigid
Tumblr media
Pantheon: Celtic (Irish)
Name meaning: "the exalted one", "strength"
Associations: fire, spring, poetry and inspiration, healing and herbalism, smithcraft, agriculture, cattle and sheep.
Symbols: Brigid's cross, holy wells, eternal flame.
Brigid is one of the most highly- revered and widely worshipped Celtic goddesses. She'a triple goddess, representing the maiden, the mother and the crone. As a Maiden, she rules over poetry, music and ispiration. As a Mother, she's presiding over healing. As a Crone, she's the goddess of fire and smithcraft.
Frequently depicted with fiery red hair, she is no simple goddess, also ruling over waters and serenity. She's a protector of women and children, presiding over childbirth and motherhood. Also frequengly depicted with lambs and sheep (krittika's yoni animal) and swans. She's closely connected to agriculture and farm animals.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Brigid, also being connected to wells and rivers, has many landmarks in Ireland with a body of water. The most famous one is a well in Kildare, Ireland. Water from that well is said to have healing properties.
Her father was Dagda (good, great god), leader of the Irish tribe Tuatha Dé Danann ("people of goddess Danu"), which consisted of Irish deities who lived there before the ancestors of the modern Irish had arrived. Dagda was a wise man, an all-father and a Druid. Brigid married Bres, another member of that tribe and together they had three children. One of them, Ruadán, died and Brigid mourned him with profound and painful sadness. She's very devoted to protecting children and this might be a reason why.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In honor of her, there's a sacred fire lit in Kildare and is guarded by the Sisters of St. Brigid. There has been a fire in Kildare since the time Brigid was worshipped. It has been put out several times, but has been re-lit and is still burning. This suggests that the worship of Brigid has endured as she she survived and was made a Catholic saint when Christianity came to Europe.
Tumblr media
I want to talk about why I chose her for Krittika while comparing her to very similar goddesses.
First one is the Roman Vesta. Virgins were chosen to keep the fire of vesta burning and it was said that if even one of them gave their virginity, the fire would burn out. In those instances when fire burned out by itself, the poor Vestal Virgins were to blame. Vesta is also the Roman Equivalent of the Greek Hestia, both being goddesses of the hearth, fire and home.
Krittika is the nakshatra that burns impurities through being precise and cutting away all that is not nessecary, hence a sharp object and a flame being its symbols. Bridging the signs of Aries and Taurus, it's often fiery and passionate but also feminine and nurturing.
Tumblr media
An Indian deity ruling over Krittika is Agni_ God of fire. An Indian goddess that is coorelated to Krittika (and also Purva Phalguni) is Tripura Sundari, meaning "the most beautiful in three worlds". This three world- triple goddess coorelation is apparent to me, besides the obvious fire associations, as well as nurturing, fertility and agriculture.
In the lunar mansion of Krittika, there's a constellation called the Pleiades, often called "the seven sisters". This is another confirmation of Krittika's very feminine nature, despite also representing the birth of the cosmic man and being very fiery and passionate in general.
Some other deities that I'd coorelate with Krittika:
Hestia- another virginal goddess of fire, also associated with home and hearth
Tripura Sundari- Indian goddess, "the most beautiful in the worlds"
Vesta- Roman goddess of fire and virgins
Bel- Celtic sun and fire god, also associated with healing, thunder and purification.
That's it! I hope you enjoyed reading about Brigid. This is a very condensed post but I said pretty much everything I wanted to say. I hope you understood Brigid's energy and made the coorelation between her and Krittika. If you're Krittika, even if you're not, COMMENT, like and reblog. Love u, take care ❤🔥

ATLA characters as greek gods?
A tall order but I’ll give it my best shot!
Aang - Hermes
Messenger. Communicator between gods and men. Protector of livestock. Talkative. Trickster. Mostly a pacifist. Associated with winged boots.
Katara - Artemis
Hunter. Warrior. Protector of nature. Challenger of men. Associated with the moon.
Sokka - Apollo
Poet. Inventor. Strategist. Brother of Artemis. Also so hot he gets wrongfully conflated with the sun god Helios.
Toph - Hephaestus
Metalworker. Strong despite his perceived weakness. Disabled badass who resents his powerful mom for refusing him his birthright. Totally fine with scamming those who wrong him.
Zuko - Ares
Hotheaded but noble god of war, weapons, and fire. Born of the god of lightning.
Azula - Athena
Goddess of war and wisdom. Brilliant tactician born of the god of lightning.
Suki - Hestia
Goddess of the hearth and home and protector of the family. Just as Suki fights for her “sisters” and her island.
Ty Lee - Aphrodite
Self explanatory.
Mai - Hades
Hades isn’t actually a bad guy, but he IS tired of your shit and wishes you’d die already, probably.
Iroh - Dionysus
Let’s have some wine! Erm I mean tea? Either way, just try to enjoy life! God of freedom, merrymaking, and fertility, among other things. Wants his followers to overcome their fears and subvert the power of the oppressors.

Here are their winx base forms plus daphne againn (i cant for the life of me get techna’s wing thingy right T^T and will probs change aisha’s shoes HAHAHA)
I also didn’t colour in musa’s Dizi and Bloom’s fire coz i am lazyy. Also platform shoes r so hard???? I diedededes
In my mind Daphne is the Fairy of the Hearth (like Hestia, the Goddess of the Hearth, in greek mythology. In my mind her vibe was very big sister-ly in the canon, like she was always protecting, being a safe space and comforting towards Bloom. So it fits coz she was the former protector of the flame (technically still is coz she protects Bloom ya kno) but in my mind she was never the holder just a protector.

One thing I used to find kind of funny as a kid just getting into Greek mythology was how Kronos and Rhea had three sons and three daughters... and yet, only two of them got married, rather than everyone pairing up in three divine brother/sister pairs.
I remember I would do little thought experiments to figure out how things might have worked out in an alternate version for the married pairs that could have formed in addition to Zeus/Hera after Kronos' and the Titans' defeat and reached these conclusions about them:
Poseidon/Demeter: this one is kiiiind of canon already, because there is a myth where they have children together, but... Poseidon doesn't exactly care about Demeter's consent there, let's leave it at that. But for the sake of argument, let's just say this wouldn't happen in this AU, and just look at their roles and personality. To oversimplify things a lot, Poseidon is the sea and Demeter is the earth. The sea is often called "barren" in Ancient Greek poetry, while the earth is ideally fertile and generous. These things already make for a potentially fun "uniting the opposites to reach equilibrium" theme. Also, Poseidon is known for causing earthquakes in his wrath as well as punishing mortals who offend him (the Minotaur was born when Minos wouldn't sacrifice his best bull to him so he made Minos' wife go mad...), while Demeter created winter when Persephone got abducted by Hades (creating considerable trouble for the mortals and even the gods themselves) and keeps recreating it whenever her daughter leaves for the Underworld again, which makes me think they're both very emotional and strong-willed. A relationship between them could be as explosive as the one between Zeus and Hera, and while that wouldn't be very healthy, probably, it could be an interesting dynamic!
Hades/Hestia: Hades is the god of the Underworld: people who have done terrible things are punished horribly for eternity in his gloomy realm, he doesn't take people going against him lightly (like when Theseus and Pirithoos tried to kidnap Persephone...), and he usually doesn't allow anyone to come back to the world of the living (though there are a couple of attempted exceptions). However, this doesn't mean he's evil or mindlessly cruel or sadistic, just strict to the point of being ruthless. Hestia is associated with fire, but instead of being a wild, destructive force, she's the patron of hearth and home. They have a similarly "not nearly as bad as they could be considering common views on their domains." And I can also see both of them caring a lot about boundaries and rules, all things considered. But Hestia could have a softness about her that Hades lacks. And Hades, perhaps, could act as a sort of grim protector for her. I also see them both as the quiet, reserved type, personally, which could make them get along pretty great, bonding through the messes of their chaotic family.
Poseidon/Hestia: Water and fire, anyone? It could be a case of "opposites attract" both in terms of elements and personalities... even if in very different ways. Ironically, Hestia, the fire goddess, could calm down Poseidon's wrath and mellow him out, while Poseidon, the sea god, could bring excitement and wildness in Hestia's life.
Hades/Demeter: ... this one always felt so weird to even consider lmao. But they both seem like gods who prefer going off to do their own thing away from the other Olympians, on some level. Plus, they're both connected to earth: Hades is the mysteries hidden under it, while Demeter is the prosperity and beauty that grows out of it. They would inevitably be a little like a variation of Hades/Persephone, I think, but the lack of an age gap would also influence their dynamic and make it a bit different. It wouldn't bea mature man and a young, lively maiden, but two siblings (possibly very close in age) growing together on more or less equal footing. I like to imagine them both as rather indipendent people, but I always end up giving a motherly streak to Demeter and an insecure/withdrawn one to Hades (likely due to my vision of the myth of the abduction of Persephone, I admit) and so I feel that would make for some sweet hurt/comfort.
Now, I'll say that, while I'm a serial multishipper, I don't actually ship these pairings. They're just fun to think about in a "what if" context for this specific AU, but talking more in general, Hades/Persephone is one of my main mythology ships, Poseidon/Demeter has all that canon history I talked about which squicks me out a bit, and I usually see Hestia as someone on the aroace spectrum. Although... that last one doesn't always stop me from shipping her, as sometimes I like to imagine her capable of romantic attraction, so only ace without the aro part.
Actually, I really like shipping her with Hermes, as either a onesided "he has a major crush on her but she's too aromantic to even notice" pairing or something requited depending on the specific types of shenanigans I feel like imagining for them. A lot of it is another "opposites" and "balancing each other out" thing: Hermes is a god of travellers, merchants, and thieves (who presumably also move around quite a bit, lol) as well as one who's able to cross boundaries (he also has a function as a psychopomp, travellling from the world of the living to the Underworld) so I associate him with open spaces and the freedom of going wherever you want to do whatever you want, while Hestia, as I've already said, is home and hearth, so in a way she represents closed, secluded spaces that are also safe and intimate. But there's also the way I see the age difference/generation gap between them. I usually think of Hermes as a sassy, reckless, relatively young god, while I see Hestia as a warm and maternal woman who definitely has a few thousand years on him.
I think Hermes would be attracted to her stability, kindness, and in general just how level-headed and reliable she can be without ever getting boring. (She's still a fire goodess after all, so I do think she has a more "fiery" side, determined and sharp, under the softness. ;)) While Hestia would enjoy (platonically or not) his youthful daring as well as his clever mind, resourcefulness and wit.
Basically, in my head he'd love to be her boytoy and she, his aunt, would occasionally not mind being his mommy, lmao.
This was a really fun post and I love all of the different dynamics that you sent up! They're all intriguing in their own ways but I really like the way you described the potential of Hades and Hestia in particular.
Thanks for sharing your musings with us!

the March sisters as Greek goddesses? (Beth is Hestia and no one can change my mind)
You just combined of my favorite things together and I am stoked! Also, sorry it took a little while, I wanted to be as accurate as I could in my choices.
Marmee- I am adding her just because, and she would be Rhea, Goddess of the Female Fertility. She is also was the goddess of motherhood and femininity, and was the mother to the Olympians. Marmee has been considered one of literature's best mother figures and Rhea seems to be the best match for her.
Meg- My instinct is to go to Hera, Goddess of Marriage and Women. Meg embraced her femininity, had longed to be married and have children, and actually wanted it from an early age compared to her sisters who never married (Beth), didn't want to (Jo), or marry for wrong reasons (Amy).
Jo- I am sure many people would say ether Athena or Artemis (mostly, I am sure due to their statuses of being unmarried/virgin goddesses) but really, she is closer to Calliope, Muse of Epic Poetry. According to Hesiod, she was the leader of the muses, but also the most assertive, which that is certainly Jo, and her only offspring were two boys, Orpheus and Linus, much like Jo's only children were two boys, Rob and Teddy.
Beth- I agree with you 100%! For those that may not know, Hestia is Goddess of the Hearth, Family, and Home. She is said to be a pretty nice goddess, described as being pure and peaceful, and never married, which ties in my headcanon of Beth being aro-ace. There isn't too many myths about her, but it appeared that there wasn't a god or goddess in all of the Pantheon that had disliked her, which is very true with ho everyone viewed Beth.
Amy- This might be a shock to some people, but her goddess would be Athena, Goddess of Wisdom. As an adult, she displayed her newfound wisdom brilliantly especially to Laurie in Europe, which helped him avoid making a big mistake, and had greatly matured from her childhood into adulthood. Athena is also the goddess of Creativity and was known as a patroness of the arts, which fits the rather artistic Amy.
BONUS: THE MEN
Mr. March- After some digging, I thought that the best fit is Hymenaios, God of Marriage Ceremonies. Given that Mr. March is a pastor who had served as a pastor for his own daughters' weddings (Meg confirmed, and Jo headcanoned), it feels pretty apt that he'd be this god, though not much else is known about this god.
John- I was not expecting to pair John with Hermes, God of Travelers, but it works. Hermes' main job was a messenger for the gods and goddesses, but has also been said to be the first teacher to the mortals, teaching them letters, science, and how to use their intellect, which makes in a way, a tutor, just like one Mr. Brooke.
Friedrich- Admittedly, this one was the toughest one, but the one I choose was someone I least expected, Dionysus, God of Wine and Festivities. Friedrich has always been known to be a easy going and fun man, but just like the god, he was also incredibly kind and helpful to his fellow men. One of Dionysis' titles was known as the "protector of misfits" as he had been an outsider in the Pantheon, which is very similar to Friedrich being seen as an outsider due to being a German in America.
Laurie- This is another one that was super easy to think of, Apollo, God of Music. A little fun fact is that Apollo was also the god of prophecy, which I couldn't help but to think about that scene in the book where Laurie ponders over the idea of Jo resembling the thorny red rose and Amy the thorn-free white rose, certain that it must mean something, which in the end it did.
How do you guys think I did? Is there any other god or goddess you'd think could work?

The Archeron Sisters as the Three Virginal Goddesses
(obviously there's overlap and some others who might fit better but I'm not talking about those am I? I'm talking about the Three Virginal Goddesses like I said in the title)
Nesta as Athena
a Greek goddess associated with both warfare and wisdom as well as handicraft, courage, inspiration, civilization, law and justice, strategic warfare, mathematics, strength, strategy, the arts, and skill.
(Nesta in Law! Nesta as a Mathematician!)
She was unlike other gods and goddesses who thought anything was worth a fight. Athena believed that people should only go to war as a last resort and only if they fought for a noble or just cause.
In later translations Athena became known for having grey eyes.
Elain as Hestia
Hestia was the goddess of the hearth, home, architecture, domesticity, family, and the state.
Although both Poseidon (Azriel?) and Apollo (Lucien) wanted her, Hestia made an oath that she never enter into a union with a man.
Hestia is described as a kind, forgiving and discreet goddess with a passive, non-confrontational nature. She represented communal security and personal happiness.
(Literally core Elain. Unfortunately her personality gets hijacked by sjm giving many of these aspects to post WAR Feyre)
Feyre as Artemis
Artemis is known as the goddess of the hunt and is one of the most respected of all the ancient Greek deities. She was also known as the goddess of wild animals, wilderness, childbirth and virginity.
Also, she was protector of young children and was know to relieve disease in women. Usually, she was shown as a young and beautiful woman carrying a bow and arrow.
Artemis was associated with the moon and considered a lunar deity. A plant also associated with her are Amaranths.
(Very TAR Feyre, though I think she carried some of her action heroine aspects over, almost all of this is lost as the books go on)

Info on the goddesses mostly copy pasted from : Here

If Hogwarts legacy characters become demigod from percy jakson, who would be their parent?
Based my opinion;
MC: Absolutely MC would be son/daughter Zeus. Ruler of sky and heaven. He/she inherit their father's strong and become fear for nothing
Ominis: Son of Hades. Though Hades known as king of underworld, god of death, he is known as most loyal for the entire god/goddess. He is loyal, only carrying his life time for his wife, goddess persephone. Hades takes his duty to brings poor soul to their next enternity life. Ominis seem could be dark and pretty cold, but inside him shown full of love just like his father. He has strong power which never shown but full compasion to whoever need it.
Sebastian: son of Poseidon. Ruler of sea. God who makes an earthquake. As his father, sebastian could be stubborn and uneasy to be tame. Really strong in battle, stubborn to hear any advice, but giving good support to his friends
Poppy: sister of Artemis. As Artemis, goddess of hunters and moon, has take a vow to reminds virgin, she would not fall in love neither take a body connection. But she respect any girls who has a brave and pure heart and she also protector of animals. Poppy was born by nature, and given to Artemis as one of her huntress companion. Her sister educating her to love and protect any animals and magical beast.
Amit: Son of Athena. Athena actually has vow to virgin forever. But she could fell in love to any man. And from their love, Athena would take a birth her child by her mind. Goddess of strategic and wisdom. She cleaver and wise yet strong in battle. Amit inherit his mother to be cleaver, thirsty to knowledge and riddle solver.
Natsai: Daughter of Hestia. Older amongs god and goddess of greek. Older sister from zeus, Hades and poseidon. She willingness to give her throne in olympius and takes her duty to brings a love in family. She workshipped by any fire on every house. The house which has her fire may have a piece. As her mother, natsai always give he best to bring peace wherever she go
Gareth: Son of dionysus. God of music, wine and theater. Like his father, Gareth always have a good mood. Tried his best to bring happiness to his friends and he never stop to make any good potion like wine from his father.
Imelda: Daughter of Ares. God of war who always looking for dispute among men. As this case, Imelda never like to be second one. she always do her best to be number one. She strong willingness and stubborn can be compare to Sebastian. She is full of fire and ready to burn everything which stand against her will
Leader: son of hermes. God of message and guidance who lost in their way. As his father has important position to bring connect olympius and underworld, leader sometimes could be pretty proud about himself. But he is reliable man who will give a hand to anyone who need him

i hope it’s alright to ask you this, but i have no idea who to ask. my english teacher is making us do a project, where we have to pick a hellenic god to ‘replace’ zeus + dress up as them. i am very very new to hellenism, so i am not very knowledgeable. is there a way to do this in a respectful manner? i don’t think i can opt out of this since it is a school project for a core class. i apologize if this is a very random ask
khaire anon! thank you for this ask! i'd love to try to help, although i will state outright that i am by no means an expert on hellenism and this is my opinion to the best of my knowledge at the moment. i don't really think there's a way to do this respectfully. the idea of replacing Zeus as king is so heretical to Hellenist beliefs. Zeus is the rightful king by conquest. if you're not familiar with the story, here are the bare bones, according to Hesiod's Theogony: Kronus, the titan, takes over as the ruler of the cosmos after castrating his father, Ouranos. he marries his sister, Rhea, and they have some kids: Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Haides, Poseidon, and finally, Zeus. Kronus was prophesied by his parents, Gaia and Ouranos, that one of his children would overthrow him just as he did to Ouranos, so he swallows them all one by one. rhea, pregnant with Zeus, is very upset about this, so she goes to her parents who tell her to give birth in secret, give the baby to Gaia to raise, and then give Kronus a stone to swallow. she does this, Kronus swallows the stone, and Zeus is raised apart from his family in Krete. other sources vary on this, as they always do with Hellenism because it is such a vast religion. anyway, Zeus grows up and forces his father to vomit back out his siblings and the stone he swallowed. Zeus sets up the stone at Delphi (this stone is called omphalos) and then frees the cyclopes and starts a war with the Titans. this goes on for about 10 years until Zeus gets some advice from Gaia to free the hecatoncheires (hundred-handers in English) and they help him in the war. by hurling thunderbolts alongside the hecatoncheires, Zeus ends the war with the titans and establishes himself as the rightful king of the cosmos. his rule is then challenged, but sources on this vary. Apollodorus says that there was a war between the gods and the giants next, but Hesiod says Zeus was challenged by the monster Typhon. really, the story you find to be true is up to you and your worship, but it's a commonality that Zeus's rule is challenged after being established and he still comes out on top. there is a possibility that your teacher is taking issue with Zeus's long history of conquest of women, which is understandable but i find to lack cultural context. it's not that Zeus is some womanizer or rapist -- he reflects the dominant attitude about men and marriage at the time, which was that men could go out and have a few different partners and kids but the women had to stay at home and watch over the household and be very faithful. this is part of why Hera's mythology is the way it is; she is his other half in this regard. nevertheless, to insinuate that one of the other gods should replace Zeus is so blasphemous to Hellenistic belief. certainly not everyone is super tight with Zeus; i’m not, i’m much closer to Apollon, but i respect and honor and praise Zeus as the king of the gods, as does... literally just about everyone. it’s an established thing that he is the king, he earned that right by conquest, and there’s a ton of good things that the Greeks had to say about Zeus. he’s the king of xenia (hospitality) and presides over civil justice and democracy along with his daughter Athena. Zeus and his son Apollon are both identified with the agathos daimon (good spirit) who invokes good luck, health, and protection onto the household. Zeus is often seen as a father figure or a protector. trying to insinuate that he should not be the king completely ignores the actual worship of Zeus and what he’s known for, as well as the cultural context surrounding him and his escapades. now i’m petty so if i were you i’d just write a paper on why Zeus is the rightful king and show up as him anyway, but that’s just me. nevertheless, i wish you well on your academic adventures and hope my answer helped. may the Theoi bless you!

The SURE STEP of a WISE MAN, he is the CONSTANCE of day break PROUD and PROTECTIVE in it’s overwhelming MIGHT, yet the quiver of BURDENED RESPONSIBILITY forced into the light of day by UNYIELDED DEVOTION at its amber dawn.
— his story starts with ;
tw: death
Raised on scottish bravery and the freedom of the skies, Dougal is as daring as any Mckinnon that came before him. With his mother a socialite from Paris, she took great care to ensure her children knew etique, language and politics. While their father - who worked for the Dragon Research and Restraint Bureau within the Ministry - bolstered courage, with flying lessons and dragon eggs, even for a child of the wizarding world Dougal’s youth was vibrant. The thrills of adventure set him alight. Screaming into the sunset as Hebridean Black dragons dominated the skies, they soared through Scottish valleys and dove into locks exploring the creatures that lurked in their depths. For eight years he grew an only child. Books towered the tables in his room, with wizarding punk posters overlapping pinned anecdotes of muggle folktales; he thrived under the encouragement of his parents' love and the stubborn companionship of his fellow islanders. The eldest of four, with an eight years difference between him and the youngest, he took on an over protective role of MARLENE [sister], NATHAIR [brother] and COINNEACH [brother] often when he didn't need to. He loved them all with pride, fulfilling his big brother duties with compassion as his temperament made them squeal with delight.
Adamant in his valiance, he longed to be a hero fighting for the voiceless. Following in the footsteps of the fabled heroes he admired; Dougal daydreamed of taking down villains like Robin Hood, bolstering with ROBERT MCGONAGALL [best friend] by his side. Sword fighting like knights, they charted maps of hidden caves, and taught his siblings to fly. Until his brother knocked an unsuspecting young girl off her feet. ANNABETH PEBWORTH [best friend/fiance] was poised with a quick witted remark and disregard of his help. Maddening even from a young age, they were similar in more ways than one. Competitive as they bustled for first place, for a man so used to being right, she had an alarming ability to disarm him. He loved her from the start. While it took time for her love to grow, his affection for her was one thing he couldn’t shake; even as they joined Hogwarts together. Filled with lion hearted pride, Gryffindor boosted his morale as he wrangled with the best of them; FRANK LONGBOTTOM [best friend], ALICE YEN [close friend], HESTIA JONES [friend], IAIN WOOD [best friend] and AMOS DIGGORY [friend]. Eating rogue plants Frank discovered in Herbology to challenging Iain to fly around the Whomping Willow; without the need to be the protector, Dougal thrived with the reckless hearts of youth and merlin did he bask in their glory.
A chaser for the quidditch team, a Prefect and Slug Club member; achieving greatness was his aim even if his quaking black and white morals left him in detention from dueling whichever pure blood asshole decided to throw a sneering comment that week. Graduating with honors, while his years were spent fixating on the history of the ministry of magic, Annabeth brought entertainment to life. Tightly wound with the pressures of success, she pulled him out of books animatedly recounting 50s horror movies or singing - out of tune - to The Rolling Stones. With his long-eared owl flying notes between them; barely a day passed where they didn’t exchange a glance or a taunting jab from across the room. Until, everything fell apart. Ravaged home land, fire fury scorched the Highlands as dragons cried for their young against wix in search of loot. Dougal and Annabeth dove into action without a moment's thought. Fighting to protect their home alongside CATRIONA MCCORMACK [friend] and the McFusty clan; sparks flew as duels ensued. Paranoid for Annabeth’s safety, he let his guard down for a second when a scream pierced through the cliffs as ISLA PEBWORTH [acquaintance] got caught between a spell and a dragon and vanished. Eggs captured, the raiders fled leaving nothing but devastation in their wake.
Grieving the loss of her sibling, all he could do was offer Annabeth patience, a shoulder and time. While she blamed herself for their death, Dougal only blamed himself. He’d been weak and he vowed then it wouldn’t be something he possessed. Valuing order and respect he saw The Ministry of Magic as a force of undeniable change. Situating himself within law and order offered Dougal the opportunity to make a lasting impact. Over the next ten years, he established himself as a key member within the Ministry. Years spent hunched over theseus by candlelight, he grew as noble as a knight and as wise as a king. Researching past prosecutions, he found patterns. Just like the maps he’d once made, he plotted tactics, pinned research and devoted time to unraveling cases as if they were the fables he once loved. While others such as RODOLPHUS LESTRANGE [co-worker] saw cases as games of victory; Dougal saw the people. Compassionate with a selfless drive, his dedication to actively helping others was his shining quality. And one that didn’t go unnoticed by his best friend's sister, MINERVA MCGONAGALL [acquaintance]. She spoke of The Order of the Phoenix, an underground establishment fighting against blood-purity. He’d signed his name before she’d even finished her sentence.
But rationality in the establishment wasn't the reality he'd hoped for. Instead of decisive action, he was met with passive evations of truth. With an increasing number of cases letting justice slip, at every turn Wizengamot fell to the whims of the elite as they favored their peers over law. With one being the ruler of that domain; JAE MULCIBER [rival]. In all his arrogance he reigned over prosecution as if he were Merlin’s gift. Sharp arguments combined with his devilish intellect left his smirk even the more bittersweet and Dougal desperately wanting to punch it off his face. For a time NAMARI NGUYEN [best friend/co-worker] agreed, until she fell for that grin. A blunt and direct witch, Dougal appreciated her sarcastic dry humor even if he didn’t approve of her bed fellow. Liberators, having joined The Order together, while his research skills and rational thinking were his assets; her ability to formulate plans and cut through illusions was hers. While in work they became recognised for taking down villains, outside they bartered on wizard chess and battled over their opposing quidditch teams with rolls of their eyes from their peers. Akin with Robert and Annabeth, Namari fit like a puzzle in their trio, until the news of Namari’s death hit The Daily Prophet.
Labeled a closed case by The Ministry, with wounds matching that of BOOKER BAGNOLD [person of interest], her death was labeled another murder by the infamous SILAS CRUMP [person of interest]. Convinced the tale was fabricated by BARTEMIUS CROUCH SR [boss/rival] to keep the peace, with the help of The Order, Dougal is set on finding the truth no matter the cost. Seeking Namari’s autopsy from KEIRA GREY [friend] and coming up with no answers, with stolen photographs and CELIA ABBOTT [acquaintance] offering her expertise in wounds inflicted by creatures; he is hoping to begin to unravel the mystery behind her death. With LACHESIS MALFOY [rival], EDRICK SELWYN [rival] and Jae recorded as the last to see her alive; he is holding them as suspects and keeping an eye out for clues about the night of her disappearance. With late nights at the junk shop offering distractions from home conflicts with Nathair’s traditionalist ideas against his engagement to Annabeth, Dougal is trying to focus his mind on what he can control. But is he delusional from guilt, or was that really the lingering white hue of Namari he saw in the corner of his eye down Knockturn Alley?
— he is a LEVEL 8 WIZARD & readied for war ;

Ellie is the student council secretary while Eunomia is the student council president. One of her ideas was approved- which was to do a charity chariot wash.
At school, she's always nice to Koalemos- even inviting him to sit with her and her friends during lunch. She stood up for him when a group of other students called him a retard.

The gods of ancient Greece
In ancient Greek mythology and religion, there is 12 gods which are called 'Olympians'. This was due to them living in Mount Olympus and were immortal beings, however looked and behaved like humans. THE 12 GODS: Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Ares, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Hermes, and either Hestia or Dionysus.
ATHENA: Athena is Zeus' daughter who strategized using her wisdom for war, which brought her great fortune as a god.
APHRODITE: goddess of love and beauty, but also a protector of seafarers and maritime trade.
APOLLO: The god of music and the famous oracle of Delpi was the twin brother of the goddess Artemis (Diana).
ARTEMIS: The twin sister of apollo who is the protector of young women and the goddess of hunting.
DIONYSUS: Dionysus was the god of wine, theatre and famous Dionysian festivals.
ARES: Ares is the god of bloodlust, someone who was always associated with conflict, violence and bloodshed, however people also referred Ares as someone who is a strong and fierce warrior.

Despite her being the goddess of marriage and birth, she was actually very merciless towards the other lovers of her own husband, Zeus, due to him having many off-springs and other lovers.
HERMES: Hermes is a Greek god, not only that but is the herald and messenger of many other gods. He is the son of Zeus and Maia. Hermes is one of the gods who is a deity of trade, wealth, luck, sleep, language, and even more, however this is all because Hermes was a god of his own rights. He is apparently to many, someone who taught mankind civilization.
POSEIDON: Poseidon is the Greek god of the Greek sea, but also known as the god of horses and earthquakes. Many people see the trident he holds and the horse as symbols of him.
ZEUS: Zeus became the new chief of a new pathogen after overthrowing the king Cronus with the help of Hades and Poseidon. He controls the sky and weather. To many people who have religions or are atheists, he is considered the ruler, protector and father to all humans and gods.

Protector group ask! TELL ME ABOUT HETTIE AND JOJO!! When do they decide to train as protectors? Who teaches them? What struggles to they face? Are they alone in their training or do certain toms join them?
YES YES HETTIE AND JOJO AS PROTECTORS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE HCS
i think for Jubilee, her decision to train as a Protector came after the Ball, when she saw the other Protectors defend the tribe against Macavity. She had fighting expertise, and wanted to put it to good use, so when the Ball was over and the excitement died down, she approached Tugger and Munkustrap, and they agreed wither her decision pretty much immediately!!
For Hestia, there was always the thought in the back of her mind, especially after she found out about Macavity and her relationship to him. She knew Mistoffelees was vital to the Protectors, and since her magic was so similar to her papa's, Hestia made the decision early on to take his place when it came time for him to step down!
Alonzo and Bombalurina head the Protector training (mainly because Tugger really can't deal with his girls growing up and when he tried to sit in on a session he started getting very emotional, so he's not allowed anymore lmao), and I think the main struggle for the girls is learning that they can't hold back.
the rest of the future group of Protectors join Hestia and Jubilee as time goes on, and that adds a huge factor of trust into the girls' relationships with Mungojerrie and Tumblebrutus. Tumble starts spending more time with Tugger, since he knows what it's like to have a magical mate on their own during fights, and Mungojerrie really has to work on his instinct to drop everything to protect Jubilee or his sister, even though he knows that they can handle themselves!
