you hadn't seen changbin for a long while. 47 days to be exact—not that you were counting... work was getting the best of him, as always. in between touring and making new music and doing interviews he often struggled to find the time to call you.

changbin, ever the gentleman, thoroughly explained to you before agreeing to make your relationship official that he would constantly have work obligations that might make you feel like less than a priority. he assured you however, that despite what you may feel at times, you would always be his number one.

yet a week before christmas, you couldn't help but feel a little blue about the whole thing. you were out at a local cafe enjoying a nice hot chocolate. actually, enjoying was a bit of a reach. sure, it tasted good and had a few cute little marshmallows on top, but as you looked around at all the happy families and couples in the cafe, your heart ached.

a part of you (your entire being) wished changbin was here, with you, enjoying his own hot chocolate with holiday themed latte art. the snow was falling heavily when your phone began ringing and interrupted your miserable train of thought.

it was changbin.

you answered it immediately, a grin appearing on your face.

"hi changbin!" you said a little too excitedly, and loudly. it earned you a few annoyed glances from cafe goers.

"it's so good to hear your voice, baby." you could see his smile over the phone.

hearing changbin's voice after a week without a phone call from him was enough to make your heart race these days.

"yours too." you were grinning like a fool.

"hey listen," that meant bad news, "i've got something to tell you." you sensed his smile fade to a frown now.

"what is it?" your own smile wavered a bit too.

"i know we talked about the possibility of me coming home for christmas but," he sighed deeply before he spoke again, "it's not looking like i'll be able to make it. i'm really sorry, baby."

a frown replaced your grin and a few tears pricked your eyes, "that's okay, we can celebrate whenever you come home."

"hey, don't cry, please." changbin pleaded through the phone, his own heart breaking just a bit.

was it that obvious?

"i just miss you so much, bin." your voice cracked ever so slightly.

"i miss you too, baby. you're always on my mind. i wonder what you get up to. what you ate for breakfast. if you had a good day, things like that." changbin explained.

you sniffled, "i do the same for you."

"please don't be too sad, i'll be home as soon as i can." he promised.

"okay," you frowned, "i love you."

"bye baby, i love you too."

it's not like changbin found it easy to lie to you. in fact, that was probably the hardest thing he's ever had to do. but he wanted to surprise you, and this was the best way he could think of.

christmas eve rolled around just a week later and you'd secretly hoped changbin was just pulling your leg about the whole thing.

after finishing off some last minute gift wrapping in the morning, changbin wasn't there.

and after doing some baking for christmas day, changbin wasn't there.

and as you got into bed just before midnight on christmas eve, changbin still wasn't there.

so he wasn't joking, you thought as you teared up again.

see, you'd really hoped changbin was going to be home for christmas. your family were yet to meet him, of course because of his busy schedule, and they were all coming to your house for christmas lunch. you'd told them so much about him, they were almost more excited than you to see him. almost.

there's always next year.

christmas morning you woke up feeling blue as the LED lights on your tree. you had to remind yourself that you knew there'd be times like this when you first started dating him. pushing the feeling aside, you began preparing for your family's lunchtime arrival.

you laid the table neatly, began cooking all the food, and put your family's and changbin's gifts under the tree.

you'd still gotten him something even if he wasn't going to be there. you'd actually bought it before he even told you he wouldn't be there. it was a new set of headphones, he mentioned a while ago that he'd lost his other pair and how much he depends on them to do pretty much everything; work, sleep, exercise, all that stuff, and you doubted he'd had the time to get new ones.

an excited knock at the front door pulled you from your train of thought and to the front door. you wiped your hands on your apron before turning the doorknob.

your family stood happily on the front door step (your family being everyone—extended family included. your mother, father, two siblings, grandmother, aunt and uncle, and your three cousins. that was ten people, eleven including yourself.)

"merry christmas!" they all exclaimed.

you smiled, glad to see them, "merry christmas!" you repeated as you welcomed them inside.

it didn't take long for everyone to take off their jackets and warm up in the living room. your brother wooyoung and sister haewon helped you out with lunch in the kitchen, simultaneously comforting you as you explained how changbin wasn't coming home for christmas. it was nice to catch up with your family, especially your siblings since you'd been feeling a little lonelier than usual lately.

they helped you bring all the food and bottles of wine to the table. you announced that lunch was ready and everyone filtered over to their chosen seats at the table and began to eat.

just as you were about to help yourself there was a solid knock at the door.

"excuse me for a moment." your brows furrowed, "i'm not expecting anyone else." you mumbled to yourself as you made your way to the front door.

you once again wiped your hands on your apron, which, after making lunch, was now covered in various marks from cooking.

when you opened and saw who it was you honestly thought you were dreaming.

"hope i'm not too late?" changbin grinned, a neatly wrapped gift under one arm and a bag of smaller gifts in his opposite hand. "i had to stop by my parent's house." ever the family man.

"changbin!" you exclaimed, practically leaping into his arms despite their preoccupation. "i missed you so much." you squeezed him tight.

"i missed you more, baby." he kissed your cheek as you let go of him.

but then it hit you.

"you asshole!" you whacked his chest with a smile, "i've been glum all week because of you!"

"i didn't want to lie to you, trust me, but chan and jisung thought it would be a good idea to surprise you." he said with a hearty laugh. "so are you surprised?"

god you'd missed that laugh.

"i really am." you couldn't stop smiling as you pulled him inside, "my whole family is here, are you ready to meet them? it's okay if you aren't, i'll kick them out." you were only being semi-serious as you peered up at him.

"what? no! i'm eager to meet them, i even brought these." he held up the bag of gifts.

"you brought them presents?" you were even more surprised now. he hadn't met your family yet.

"i remember you mentioning that you were cooking christmas lunch for your whole family." he shrugged. "this one is for you anyway." he tried his best to wiggle his shoulder that the gift was wedged under.

you took the bag of gifts from him, allowing him to properly hold your gift. "we can put these under the tree for now, then you have to come eat lunch and meet everyone." you were positively beaming.

you helped him put the presents under the tree before pulling up a spare chair next to your own at the dining table. you introduced him to everyone, and as most families do, they began bombarding your poor boyfriend with excited questions. changbin, ever the gentlemen as you always say, gladly answered them all as he dug into his lunch.

he'd really missed your cooking, he thought as he continued answering questions about himself and your relationship.

after everyone was totally full from lunch, you all began exchanging gifts. your family was just as surprised as you had been to recieve gifts from changbin. they felt so bad for not getting him anything, but he only joked and said that they'd have to get him twice as much next year.

your family really liked him.

changbin adored his gift. "i can't believe you remembered i said that!" he said as he opened it. "i can't thank you enough, baby. headphones are just after you on the list of things i can't live without." he leaned in to pepper your cheek with kisses.

from changbin you received something truly special that he knew you'd love. it was a mixtape of demo songs he'd written about you since he met you—including those he'd written before you were dating. he'd felt really awful spending more time away from you than with you, and he knew that you liked romantic gestures such as this. it was the only other way besides surprising you that he could think of to start making up for lost time.

"hey, no crying." changbin wiped a few of your tears as you read the titles of the songs, you'd listen to them later, you knew you'd bawl your eyes out.

luckily your family were too busy with their own gift giving to notice your happy tears, wooyoung and haewon would definitely tease you if they saw.

after gift exchanging came drinking wine into the evening. especially you, changbin, your siblings, and your cousins. it was fun having a laugh and catching up with everyone. you heart felt full as you saw wooyoung and haewon getting along really well with changbin, almost too well, you thought as wooyoung began an unmatched tackle with changbin.

but soon, your family were saying their goodbyes, giving hugs, and wishing happy new years to you and changbin, as you wouldn't see them until after the new year.

wooyoung and haewon drunkenly whispered things like, "marry him." and, "he's a keeper." as you laughed and shoved them off the front door step towards your parent's car.

"c'mon, let's clean up." you dragged changbin to the dining table but he protested.

"can't we tidy up tomorrow?" he pouted. "i've missed you."

you jokingly narrowed your eyes at him, "don't try and guilt trip me."

"fine, fine." he raised his hands in surrender and began to stack plates with you. "you know, i'm not finished making it up to you." changbin side eyed you to catch your reaction.

you put down your handful of empty wine glasses, "we are cleaning up first thing tomorrow morning."

his head snapped up as he smiled in success, "i promise."

you weren't usually this easily swayed by anything, but to be fair, you'd really missed the feeling of being in his arms. and the feeling of, well, other things.

changbin hastily began untying your apron and pulling you closer to the bedroom. "merry christmas, baby." he whispered against your lips.

your bed needed a little warming up anyway.

favourite thing about them: she exists !!!!!!!!!!!! and she's so cool . she's like, devastatingly cool . both in her concept and just .. herself .... move over chad narukami losers !!!!!!!!!! especially in her exclusive links, her kindness and kick-ass-ness and depth comes out in full force and i love her so much for it. i know i'm a ryominahead, but i miss her everyday !!!!!!!!

least favourite thing about them: not her fault AT ALL . but aside from how underrepresented she is, i am still a firm believer that she should've received her own ryoji ... it's so sad, because i absolutely adore how they open up to each other, but i've talked to others before about how ryoji in her story as seemingly HER mirror just feels wrong, like he's transplanted from another place (which he literally is .. he's created in minato's image). i would've loved to see how her ryoji could've been more specifically shaped and changed by her quirks + her approach to her trauma

favourite line: "but, when i first saw him... he didn't feel at all like a stranger to me." "i can't explain it well, but it was almost like nostalgia.... or some kind of closeness." "i'm him, and he's me...?" it's criminal that q2 left it at this.

brOTP: junpei and hamuko is especially special to me ... more so than minato and junpei really . they bounce off of each other so well, + the extended/enhanced arc where junpei is kind of misogynistic to her alongside the leader jealousy and how that develops is so cool T_T

OTP: HAMUAIGIS 4EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! aigis im so sorry yr girlfriend is still in the vault . can you imagine femc the answer . would destroy my soul .

nOTP: her + junpei . .. maybe im a little hater but the GAME doesnt even let you do it lmao ...! it means a lot to me that they're best friends . other than that, i'd say she fits cutely with nearly everyone else just like minato does !

random headcanon: okay lets be real . am i stupid ? where does her mp3 player attach ? it just kind of hangs out in midair while minato obviously hangs it on a lanyard . i like to think she's a bit more crafty with it !!! clipping it onto the zipper of her uniform or her scarf or keeping it on a wristband etc ^_^

unpopular opinion: gwa ........... i should just own this i think, even if people disagree !! in my opinion ... femc is supplementary content. and that means you should not be playing her route as your first experience in persona 3. just like how i believe you shouldn't read the manga or watch the movies before playing the game. you need to play the male route first. the way she presents the game's themes through her character and modified story is designed to be in direct opposition and contract with minato's route, and enhances both routes to that effect and can totally change your experience when viewing your previous playthrough of the male route and your current route as her through the lens she teaches the player. in a sad sort of way, i am kind of happy reload hasn't enforced this idea that femc is just one of two ways to experience p3 . this isn't a character select .. she's more like a perfect ng+ to me .

I like to read your thoughts on IM comics. What were your thoughts on invincible iron man #6, i am ironman #3 and avengers (2023) #1

Hi anon! I'll gladly give you my thoughts.

Invincible Iron Man #6:

This run stays good, and has been consistently good for 6 issues now, which gives me hope that it will stay that good for the rest of it. I liked seeing 80s Tony, and his run-in with Emma was a fun and believable retcon. It does make me think that Emma and Tony being an item at some point in the future is likely, but at least Duggan builds it up, unlike Cantwell someone else. I think that even if the plot itself gets worse (which I don't really think it will), I will still enjoy this run because of the characterization. Look at these gems:

There are so many characterization moments that just make sense, and it has been that way in every issue so far. I love it. I also love that all the call-backs to his past seem to serve a purpose, and to me it feels like Duggan really knows what he's talking about and not just making a surface-level reference. The blend of seriousness and humour that Duggan writes really works for me. I like that Tony has moments of self-reflection, I like how determined he is to stop Feilong. The mix of recklessness and calculation that Tony shows is peak Tony to me. He uses his brain, but his emotions run high. Yes!

Also there are always fun panels, like this one: insert meme caption [me when I write fanfiction at three a.m.]

I Am Iron Man #3:

A touching issue. The start felt a bit weird and stilted to me, and I suspected that Tony was reciting lines/playacting. I was relieved when it turned out to be the case. The best part about this issue is the various Maria and Tony flashbacks. It made me a little emotional, to imagine that Tony's (only) best friend was his mother. They loved each other so much..... I am sad. This was my favourite panel:

Now, this might be a little bit of an unpopular opinion but I can't fully enjoy the I Am Iron Man series because I can't really get into the writing style and art style. But I almost always like the Tony characterization, the humour is fun, and I love the Tony-Rhodey friendship. Also, Ayodele and Akande LOVE Tony and that really shows through and it's so refreshing to read. As fellow Iron Man fans, I love that they're doing an Iron Man series.

My nitpicky thoughts about this issue: 1. The tombstone with "Tony's best friend" is touching but makes zero sense and I found it a little too on the nose. 2. Tony's armour and his facial hair do not match in the last panels. He had a goatee at the time.

I do think that I haven't really been able to get into the series because the execution of the story didn't really work for me. The themes are great, though. Next issue will take place during Director of Shield Tony, and I think it will make or break my general opinion of the run. I have a very specific interpretation of what Tony's headspace is like during that time.

Avengers #1:

(under a cut because this post is getting long and the issue came out last week)

Great start of the run. I really loved the Tony and Carol interaction, and that it reminded us that Tony and Carol are good friends and important to each other. Carol mentioning that Tony is her sponsor is so good. I liked how everyone was portrayed, it's very promising. Carol and her talk about the Avenger's purpose and what they do was amazing. MacKay's insistence that the Avengers are not cops, but people who fight every day to save lives, to save the world, is very welcome.

I also really liked this:

I think that MacKay knows what he's doing, and the voices and characterization of every character felt good to me. I'm excited that Tony is the Executive Officer of the Avengers, the number two. I think that this position is one where Tony has the potential to excel.

The interactions between team members were fun, too. No artificial hostility, a good deal of trust and familiarity, even some joking! I hope that MacKay will continue on this line of "the avengers are more than just co-workers". It's nice to have them be friends, even though there are tensions (between Sam and T'Challa for now). The plot itself seems interesting, but it's too early for me to form an opinion.

"Jimin-ah, i'm sorry i'm sorry"

Y/n started to cry and whimper how sorry she is to her late-fiance, Park Jimin. Oh how she regrets everything that happened and how she hates that she still alive while her lover is dead.

The bed she was sitting was supposed to be the warm place for her and her fiance. Too bad, he left first. You can hear y/n begging to no one for Jimin to come back.

"y/n wake up! I made you breakfast."

That's Jungkook. He is y/n's cousin who always at her side and help her through everything since both of them are orphan and only have each other. Jungkook doesn't have any girlfriend as he is too busy with his work and taking care of you.

" I ...I dreamt about him again,kook"

Jungkook's movement stopped for a while. He put the plate he was holding to the table and looked at you who were staring at nothing. You changed. Your eyes that always contain happiness now become sorrowful, you lost your weights and getting eyebags under your eyes. Jungkook pursued his lips and sighed. It's not easy. The fight you were having with your fiance was the last time you see him and you don't even get a chance to apologize to each other. Jungkook is so worried because one time he had saved you from cutting your neck just to end your nightmare.

"I can't help but to feel guilty,kook. I tried to distract myself but it didn't work."

"y/n, it's been one year since that incident. You need to stop blaming yourself. This is not healthy."

Jungkook can heard how broken your voice was. You are too tired and he don't know how can he help you to get over with this. He hugged your body and your soft cries filled up the room.

"Here, I have a suggestion. We get you to a hospital to get a treatment for your trauma. Let's try it y/n. I'm sure Jimin will be sad if he sees you in this condition. Okay?"

Jungkook hold your hand to calm yourself and went to the counter to get your appointment. After that , both of you sit down and waiting for your name to be called.

"What if I can't tell what is happening jungkook? I'm afraid the doctor will call me weird!!"

You asked with a worrying voice an started to scratch your hair. Jungkook sighed and caressed your hair gently and fixed the mess that you did.

"He is doctor for a reason y/n. I believe you can do it. Trust yourself this time."

"Miss y/n. Please go inside. Our psychiatrist is waiting for you."

Jungkook smiled when heard your name getting called. He immediately stood up and pulled you up and walked to the room that you need to get into.

"You can do this y/n. It's time for you to get better."

"Good morning miss y/n. My name is Jongseong and I am your psychiatrist."

The man who is sitting while typing something on his computer made you stunned a while. It is because he is so breathtaking. The cute lips and sharp jawline made you gulped a bit suddenly become nervous. You sit on the chair that has been placed in front of him and waiting for him to finish whatever he doing right now.

"Have you eat y/n? You seem tired."

"Oh i just eat a little? Because i don't have any appetite."

Jongseong,the psychiatrist stopped doing his task and turned to y/n who was fiddling with her fingers.

"Can you tell me what is happening miss y/n? Because I want to help you overcome your problems."

Y/n can feel the panic that started to build up. She tried to calm herself but seems like it became worse. Jongseong quickly went to her when he noticed how the girl can't breath regularly. He cupped her cheeks made her looked at him.

"Miss y/n, I need you to follow what I say. Now,slowly inhale and exhale. Don't think anything just focus on your breathing."

It continues for about ten minutes to finally calm you down. You were feeling embarassed because the psychiatrist had to see this side of you.

"It's okay miss y/n. I had see a lot of my patients being like this. It's normal and no need to get worry. Let's get you start, okay?"

You sighed quietly for the last time and began telling your problem to the man. You often didn't look at his eyes and fiddling with your fingers. Jongseong make sure to take a note of that.

After about an hour, the session finally done and you were waiting for Jongseong to finish what is he writing.

"How do you feel about our session today miss y/n?"

"I feel a bit good but I'm still scared of the nightmares."

"I will give you some technique to control your breath when you have a panic attack and we will meet again after few weeks to see your progress, okay?"

"Yes doctor"

"Just call me jongseong I want you to feel comfortable"

"Okay, if that's what you want. Thank you jongseong-ah"

Somehow the name feels familiar but maybe it's just your mind playing with you.

Two weeks later, your day has been improved and become better. You started to have appetite to eat again and Jungkook was so happy when he saw the changes. You laughed as he screamed happily when you asked him to take you out even though you still scared to go out but Jungkook is always there to reassure you that everything is fine.

However, your happiness shattered when one day you saw a note at your table in your room

No,no, no this must be a prank. You took the note and went out from your room then walked to Jungkook who was playing with his dog, Bam.

"Hey, do you want to go to the park? We can play with Ba-"

You fell because you can't feel your legs. You can't breath. You started to feel dizzy. Jungkook were calling you and Bam was barking but you couldn't hear that. What you can hear only your other voices.

Jungkook were panicking when you started banging your head to the wall. He hold you tightly while you screaming and begging for him to let go.He hugged you for about 15 minutes and your body started to calm down slowly. What Jungkook could heard from you was your sobbing and whimpering. Just as he thought you become better, now you back to the old one.

"Y/n come on let's eat. I made your favourite."

Jungkook said as he put the food and drink beside your bed. Bam who was following him is now laying beside you. You can only stared at them.

"It's not my fault right?"

"Yes y/n it's not. I will install cctv to see who is the one went to your room. Don't worry. We have Bam here, he can protect you."

Bam barked when he heard his name getting called. You laughed with Jungkook and caressing the dog body. After that, you eat and talked with Jungkook for a while before you went to sleep.

What you didn't notice was a man stood at the corner in your room watching how you moved agressively because you were having a nightmare.

"Hi y/n good to see you again after few weeks. Let's continue the session, shall we?"

Jongseong asked with a hint of excited in his voice but he tuned it down when he saw how tired you are. You became worse than before.

"Can you tell me what exactly happening to you this past few weeks y/n? Because it seems you looked really bad."

"It's actually getting better at first but when I saw a note in room, it scared me. The nightmares come back again every single night and sometimes I'm too scared to sleep because I'm afraid I will dream about it again"

The session continue for an hour and Jongseong took a note for every movements y/n did without she realized. The girl sometimes rambled too much and then keep apologizing to the point Jongseong need to calm her down.

"Okay y/n, seems like your condition really become worse so I will give you some medicines to help. Please do not overdose the usage okay? Consume the medicine as what I had adviced."

"Am I that bad, Jongseong?"

"Huh? What do you mean?"

Jongseong stopped whatever he doing and looked at you seriously. He could sense that you were going to cry so he quickly embraced you in his arms and it was right. You were crying as soon as you leaned to him. The psychiatrist caressing your back as to give you comfort. You and him stayed in that position for a while until you slightly pushed away from him.

"I'm sorry Jongseong. I don't know what's wrong with me. This is so unprofessional. I should not hug you."

"Hey y/n, look at me"

The girl refused to look as she is still embarassed about the hug so Jongseong cupped her cheeks making the girl look at him with wide eyes.

"You cannot always be alone when you want to cry y/n. Sometimes, you need someone to lean and you can use me. Yes, I am your psychiatrist but I am your friend too. Treat me as your friend because I will always be here for you. I will be the one who bring you happiness.

You was too stunned to speak. Not only because of his words but because of the closeness between you and Jongseong. He looked more attractive at this point. The way he smiles at you made your heartbeat fast.

Jungkook teased you along the hallway even after you had picked your medicine. You rolled your eyes when he poked your cheeks to show that you are blushing.

"I'm glad y/n"

"You know, it's the time for you to finally move on from Jimin hyung."

"Ouuu, is that his name? It's a bit familiar."

Jungkook said while thinking where did he ever heard that name but the thought stopped when you said again.

Your weeks started pretty badly. Almost every night, you will have the same nightmare. Jungkook and Bam decided to sleep with you so you they can be alert if there is anything happen to you.

You walked to the kitchen to drink a water but you stopped when you saw a tall human or more like man who were watching your moves. You couldn't see who is he because of the darkness and you are certainly sure it is not Jungkook since he sleeps with you. You don't know what to do but you decided to step back and it caused the person to call you.

That's the nickname that only Jimin used it on you. You stayed at your place and looked at the person with wide eyes. You don't know what is happening and you knew your fiance is gone so who is this person standing in the room calling you using a nickname that only a certain person used on you?

"who...who are you?"

"I'm Jimin, bunny. Can't you recognize me?"

The man slowly walked to you but you didn't even try to run. Maybe because you were too shocked of his words. When he reached infront of you, he cupped your cheeks and made you looked at him. It's hard to see actually because of dark but you felt like it is Jimin in front of you.

"...Jimin?"

He giggled and kissed your forehead made you cried suddenly.

"I'm sorry jimin I'm really sorry"

Jungkook's sleepy voice startled you. He switched on the lights and you shut your eyes because of the sudden bright. Jungkook stared weirdly at you as he saw you were hugging yourself.When you opened your eyes, you looked around the room to find Jimin but there is no trace of him.

"Where's Jimin?"

"I- what the hell y/n?!! Jimin is gone y/n!!"

Three weeks later, you were running with Bam at the park while Jungkook went to buy ice creams. Just when you wanted to call Bam you saw a guy who literally look like Jimin. You started to follow him leaving Bam confused as why you stopped playing. The dog barked but you were too focused on following that person. When you succesfully got to be near, you tapped his shoulder and made him turned his back.

"Jimin- oh sorry! I mistook you"

The man furrowed his eyebrows but didn't say anything instead just continue walking and leaving you stood like a fool. Jungkook went to you with the ice creams he bought and serious look at his face.

"What happen y/n?"

"I- I saw Jimin again...."

"y/n, let's go back home"

"I really saw him Jungkook. I followed him but then I don't know suddenly I lost him? But I'm sure I saw Jimin"

You were shocked when Jungkook screamed. It is the first time he ever scream that loud to you. Bam too were scared of his loud voice and decided to went to the bedroom.

You realized even Jungkook who is your cousin that has always by your side is tired of you too. Of course he is, you were saying bullshits and nonsense. Who doesn't get tired of it. You looked down at your lap fiddling with your fingers. You should stop rely on anyone because it only make them tired. Slowly, you stood up and still not looking at him.

And you walked to your room and told Bam to go out to Jungkook. You locked the door and slowly let your body fell to the floor and started crying alone in the darkness.

The next few days y/n was still not talking to Jungkook. She is avoiding that man because she couldn't forget what he said days ago. It's not like she is being angry, no, she just felt guilty for whatever happened and Jungkook couldn't help but to feel guilty too about what happened between him and his cousin. Now, y/n didn't even response when he called her to eat. He always see his cousin come out from the room at midnight and sometimes he woke up at the night just to see y/n tried to cook something. They slowly became apart. His dog, Bam also sad when couldn't play with y/n too. Sometimes, the dog even wait in front of her dog just to make her play with him.

"come on buddy, I'm sure y/n is tired. Let's go sleep bam"

You went to the hospital for your appointment by yourself. Usually,there is Jungkook accompany you but you were still avoiding him and you also went out without his knowing since the man need to bring his dog to vet.

"hi y/n, how are you doing today?"

Jongseong said with a bright smile but you can only response with small nod. The smile on his face automatically dies when he saw how puffy your eyes. He decided to pull his chair and sit in front of you.

"what happen y/n?"

"Jongseong-ah, I-I think I become worse. I started to having hallucination. Everytime I eat the medicine I keep seeing things."

You were not lying. You had did an experiment to not consume the medicine he give and surprisingly you just have same nightmare but not every night and the your mind seems a bit better than the time you consume it. You did some research that certain medicines you have causing this but you didn't expected that bad. You were looking at Jongseong for answer but he just keep staring at you with unexplainable expression. Suddenly, he giggled at nothing and made you more confuse but you stunned at the next words that came out from his mouth.

"That's why I give you that. I want you to become crazy."

You don't know what to say at this moment. Jongseong still looked at you with his smile and standing up from his seat then walked around the room.

"Those medicines I gave to you have some side effects like having hallucination but it's not that bad. So, I added something into your food and drinks everytime."

That's only the word you could mumbled after heard what Jongseong said. It's so disgusting to know that he stay in your room and do something bad. How can you fall in love with this person? The man was amused at how you glared at him. You still looked cute even your look at him show hatred.

(ep 12 discussion in case u don't feel like reading more of it! sorry if this doesn't make a lot of sense lol i'm bad at writing these things out) honestly, i felt so sad and disappointed after the episode but the more i see thai people talking about it, the more i get it as a choice.. i still don't like it and am upset that they spent the whole time making them stronger together just for this to happen, but i also understand that i have a very different perspective in my familial relationships.. i'm still sad, but now that i've calmed down i can understand from pran and pat's pov how they might think it's legit the only way forward to do this

mhmm!!

im still figuring out how i feel on everything. there are definitely a few things right off the bat where i can tell im looking at them with some blinders and assumptions and i need to rewatch the full episode with those off. i can also already think of some threads i saw in the episode but i didnt register how important they were. the biggest thing is that i just have to rewatch the episode, but first i gotta psych myself up for it lolol

take this whole ramble with a grain of salt because again, i gotta double check what are narrative threads i picked up on vs what i had just assumed and/or dismissed (and like, trying to also remember previews aren't spoilers lol). but we saw from the start how running away from the problem wasn't actually intended as a solution for pat and pran, they just needed a break. pat just wants to ignore it all and like usual, he deals with his struggles in the quiet moments and he hides all of it behind smiles and his goofiness; whereas pran is thinking and overthinking how the return will go right from the start. and for all that they yell their feelings out to the waves, they can't truly just up and leave--pran has a close relationship with both his parents, pat would never just completely leave pa. and they both acknowledge this in their own ways. pran is the most obvious with missing his mother, but pat turning away from discussing any of it and his comment about checking in on pa later also shows how he hasn't truly cut himself off from everything yet, he just wants some time away. so we know its temporary, we know they're not going to just up and leave their families completely. and this is all further reinforced by the subplot with junior where his mother just wants what's best for him, doesn't want him trapped like she'd felt she was, and she and junior come together in the end knowing that they love each other and are working towards a good future together

so, just running away isnt an option (and this has been a narrative theme in bbs since ep1). we also have some threads from previous episodes that do tie into a potential breakup--the main one that comes to mind is pran's line about not pursuing a deadend relationship. so, after some thinking, im wondering if maybe pat and pran might breakup because they don't want their relationship to be a part of the coming tug-o-war between reconciling with their families and then settling the feud as well? im not sure how much sense im making right now, im still such a mess of emotions, but family is very important to them. and pat's returning to his dad who shows no promise of trying to apologize much less make up for his mistakes and a mother who's still supporting him regardless and wants pat to bend. pran's returning to his mother who's been incredibly hurt and hasn't dealt with that pain, instead trying to just block it out, and pran's sympathetic to her. he doesn't think she needs to just forgive ming for him. (and while we don't see his dad's reaction to this, we see in previous episodes how devoted he is to his wife and he takes the rivalry just as personally.)

so, so long as their parents are still channeling their issues with each other through pat and pran, they're trapped. if cutting their parents out completely isnt an option, and they can't do anything to fix the parents' relationship, where do you go next? if there's something in this to yield, do they break up so to protect their relationship from their parents' ire and keep working on settling the rivalry separately? or even just wait until their in a better position to protect each other from their parents' pressure (because we also have to acknowledge that they're still semi-dependent on their parents right now)? as much as we all love defiance and standing against anything in the face of adversity, that's only going to further inflame tensions between their families and we all know just how poorly the parents handle that. so is the approach instead taking their relationship out of their parents reach with the promise to return when they can?

but again, i also just really need to rewatch the episode because *points @ this post* ...pat and pran are not okay with their parents' bullshit. they love each other, they want to be together, they will fight to be together. any threads that could lead to a breakup also have been refuted. there's uncle tong's wisdom of how even when he can't change the world, and the world keeps spitting on his work, what's important is that it cant change who he is as a person or the importance of the work that he does do.

so. im still a jumbled mess of emotions and i havent really been able to write today, so i havent truly processed anything yet either lol. i also still have to rewatch the episode. but right now, im wondering if a breakup might be them removing their relationship from their parents' reach. its different from how it was in high school--they have a little more independence and they're a lot more sure in where they stand with each other. their parents need to deal with their own shit, not take it out on them, and they breakup in what might be an equally defiant "you dont get to touch this/him" or "our relationship is not a part of your issues"

i'm still really torn and really not sure how ep12 is going to go down. there are so many possibilities, and same as you, im also seeing how the break up could be a logical step forward in a way i hadn't earlier. im not sure how i feel on that possibility right now, i just dont want them separated again, but the preview doesn't feel as left field as it did earlier and that is a relief for me. i think maybe my biggest revelation/change in thought i've had after sitting on it for a little bit is that i dont want the rivalry to be solved with trickery (such as a fake break up). i think that will undermine how avoiding the truth is what caused the rivalry in the first place. i struggle to think that they'd cut each other off completely, but i dont think secret dating will work out well? that said i could also be totally off about that again. i don't know what the writers have in store for us, we really cant predict too much from the previews and they have a lot of threads that are still building up to a happy patpran end. i do think they'll finish out their story well. im anxious as hell waiting for it in a way i didn't think i'd be, but bbs writers haven't let us down yet so. yeah, im hopeful. the preview feels less scary than it had earlier and im a little more ready to sit back and see where it goes.

The Crow (1994)

Alright Cult of Cult. Do I really need to introduce this one? Let's get all 90s and gothy and maybe brace ourselves for a bit of cringe, but like in a fun way. It's the Holy Grail of Hot Topic, 1994's the Crow Starring Brandon Lee.

Sermon

Apparently before the auto industry totally crashed Detroit was already a total fucked to death pile of burning shit, or at least that's what the crow would have you believe. Sorry Bruce Campbell, and other people from Detroit, but mostly Bruce Campbell. According to the Crow the city of Detroit is the kind of place where gangs of warlock anarchist arsonists will bomb buildings, and murder and rape whoever they feel like and then walk around bragging about it the next day with absolutely zero consequences. Funny then that if Detroit was so bad they had to go to film this movie in Wilmington North Carolina which is definitely a fucked to death pile of burning shit. I can say that, I'm from there and I got the fuck out. My brother is going to kill me if he ever reads this. (It's okay, these are all jokes people). Did you know they also filmed the Super Mario Bros movie there ... also cuz they needed a really shitty looking distopia. Moving on ...

The ludicrous criminality of the Crow's Detroit is particularly on display on Halloween. In Detroit (apparently) Halloween is known as Devils Night and it's legitimately just a night of pure lawlessness and chaos and kids aren't even safe to get candy, except later when we do see trick or treaters. Eric Draven, hunky goth rocker who sort of looks like he could be Bruce Lee's Kid and his fiance are murdered by a gang of vicious criminals. One year hence, Eric is resurrected by a mystical crow (that is actually a Raven), to exact his revenge on the gang that murdered him.

He paints his face like sad Alice Cooper and refuses to listen to Joy Division, just covers. He murders Tin Tin (a knife guy) just for his long gothy duster, he murders Fun Boy and forcibly ejects heroine from her arms and tells her "Go be a good mom now" which actually works. (have I told you about our Lord and Savior Sting? He gave me the strength to get off drugs), he blows T Bird up dick first, and then comes for Skab? Scraap? Scooby? in a meeting of all of Detroits villains and just about kills them all.

He is supported by the most 90s little girl to have ever graced the screen, and I am here for it, and Officer Albrecht, who's played by Ernie Hudson but I like to call him Zeddemore: The Most Underrated Ghostbuster. The leader of the bad guys, who I cannot beleive wasn't played by Brad Dourif or Tom Waits, is pretty interested in the occult. He keeps his witchy girlfriend around and she makes him fun dishes like smoked eyeballs, and her main use is that she knows that the Crow is the Crows weakness. They set Tony Fucking Todd on the bird, and I guess you just have to hurt the bird and not kill it, and Eric loses his healing factor and other macabre undead powers.

The Crow, Jimmy the Raven, pecks out Dr. Girlfriends eyeballs, I honestly forget how Tony Todd gets offed, and Top Dollar gets Gargoyled (that is impaled on a gargoyle). Funnily enough that is more Gargoyle related impaling on screen then in the actual movie Gargoyle: Wings of Darkness where a Gargoyle is supposed to have impaled a guy.

The Benediction

Best Feature: Injustice League

In the Crow we have not only a set of super memorable villains but they are played by the bad guy all stars. John Polito as the most lowly of the bad guys as a kind of sleazy pawn shop owner who buys ill gotten gains. Tony Todd, who's size is really on display here, the freaking Candy Man is in this movie. T Bird is the head of Top Dollars goons and is played by David Patrick Kelly, you might know as the "Warriors Come Out and Play!!" bottle guy from the Warriors, or as Jimmy Horne from Twin Peaks, and of course Top Dollar himself is played by Michael Wincott. Wincott is not a particularly celebrated actor but has played villains effectively in Robin Hood, the Three Musketeers, and Dead Man.

Best Set Piece: Detroit Style Hot Dogs

The Set design of the Crow is perhaps one of it's most fantastic features. It's very moody and ethereal. It's just real enough to not take you out of the film, but fantastic enough to set mood and theme above realism. From Eric Draven's apartment, to the church where the final battle occurs they are all fantastic. I think that's why I really wanted to shine the spot light on a very minor set piece that would get nary a mention but just as effectively represents the qualities I was just talking about and that is the Maxi Doggs Hot Dog Stand, where a lot of the films exposition for audience surrogates takes place.

Worst Effect: Freeze Frame

At a few points in the movie the film makers made a strange decision to do these freeze frame transitions. I only noticed it twice in the movie where it was particularly stupid. I'm sure the film makers at the time thought it was a moody and atmospheric choice that highlighted the suffering that Eric Draven was going through, but it didn't age well. If you don't have the sensibilities of a goth girl from 1994 then it's very very hard not to laugh at just how self involved the movie is about it's super sadness.

Worst Feature: Tragic Accident

Solely based on the film itself, it is that very gothic and dated sensibility that hurts the Crow. The little sarcastic dance he does when he flees the police, quoting Edgar Allen Poe, and bowing to Albrecht. These affected behaviors that I'm sure seemed snarky and right on to the target audience only serve to make Eric Draven seem like an unbearable neck beard edgelord and not the troubled dark soul he's supposed to be. I'm sure at the time it seemed unique and gothy but that shit went out of style for good reason, people could see through it. It's a shame that the Crow himself was some of the cringiest parts of this movie now that I'm seeing it as an adult and not a 13 year old middle class boy with no real problems.

This however is not the low point of the movie. It's not news now and if you're reading some dudes review of The Crow on Tumblr then you probably already know the story. The worst thing about The Crow is that Brandon Lee was horrifically killed on set while filming this movie due to some negligible prop malfunctions. A series of unfortunate events that lead to the actor spending 6 hours in surgery fighting for his life before eventually passing. It was not a quick or painless death and it's really impossible to watch the movie without an appreciation for the fact that this kind of fun dark adventure was going to be a vehicle for Brandon Lee's career wound up taking his life. He was 28. I really wish I could have just bitched about the goofy goth stuff and moved on, but that's not the world we live in.

Best Effect: The Gargoyling

Maybe I should have called this best kill. But I'm not sure which it is. The slaying of Top Dollar at the Climax of the film was just super effective. The pointed wings impaling his chest and that horn coming out of his mouth, it was morbid and excellent and just fit the tone of the movie perfectly. I mean how many other movies can you say Cause of Death: Impaled on a Gargoyle.

Best Bird: The Raven

I tried very hard to look up the name of the bird that primarily performed in this movie and could not find anything. There was a Raven once upon a time called Jimmy the Raven, but that was in the 50s and I don't think birds live that long. There was a team of Ravens performing as the crow, they were chosen over crows for their larger size, and more imposing silhouettes. I just think it's so wonderful to see these often maligned birds get a chance to show off their talents. Corvids of all kinds are incredibly intelligent creatures. Im a sucker for animals, if you haven't already figured that out. I really liked seeing the ravens hit their marks, particularly the one whos job it was to drop the wedding ring into Sarah's hand at the end of the film. You can see that greedy little bastard do his trick and then look of camera at his trainer like "treat please!". It's very cute.

Best Actor: Top Dollar Performance

I'd love to take this opportunity to just put praise upon Brandon Lee, he truly gave everything for this role, but unfortunately with what was put to film we actually have very few character moments with Eric Draven. Stuff happens to him, and he does killings and fights. There's definitely some personality, but I felt like I walked away knowing almost nothing about who Eric Draven was. He was clearly a good dude but that and a few hobbies and a relationship and you don't really have a character yet. He's unfortunately not given a lot of acting to do, instead just relegated to stunts and action sequences. That were notably cool.

The bad guys in the Crow have a lot more character and among this who's who of character actors, Michael Wincott takes the cake. Hell he was standing next to Candyman himself, Tony Todd and still stealing the scenes.

Best Character: A Few Good Apples

Is the best character in The Crow really going to be the cop? The commissioner Gordon stand in? yeah, it is. Not to be political, but I don't like cops, but I guess in a world with magical birds and eyeball smoking I can suspend my disbelief and let Ernie Hudson be #1 cop dad. His character is really the heart of the film, since all Eric can do is brood and fight, we have to care about someone in this movie.

Best Sequence: Halloween Party

The best sequence of the movie is of course the scene where Eric Draven busts in on the Devil's Night party planning commission. I think Top Dollar brought Scrappy Doo there just so he could lure out the crow, knowing the baddest assholes in all of Detroit would be gathered it was likely that somebody was going to kill the beast, or if they couldn't at least Top Dollar could get a feel for his enemy. It's a bullet flying action sequence with a ton of weight. I can't put my finger on this all to common weightless third act problem that big budget super hero and action flicks have nowadays, but whatever that issue is, the Crow does not have that issue. From this point on the Climax feels earned and I am invested. For that reason, The Crow is honestly better in spite of its awkwardness, than many of the super hero movies out today.

Worst Sequence: My Guitar Gently Weeps

Speaking of brooding or fighting. The best sequence was fighting, the worst is brooding. I get that Eric was in a band or something, but didn't he have shit to do. It seemed like it was a cool idea for a shot, but for like a whole seen, watching somebody play an 80s guitar solo, that stood out so brazenly from the choices of music in the rest of the movie was extra corny. It felt like someone's( dad trying to relate to their kid. Oh you like Music. The Dresden Dolls eh? Oh man, then you're going to love Slash's Snake Pit!

Summary

The Crow is dated. It is iconic but I wonder how many of the people that hang that poster on the wall have watched that movie since they were kids. It's interesting how what i've liked and disliked about this film have changed so much sense I was a kid. It's a cheeseball fiesta. If you have matured at all beyond thinking that being sad is the same as being deep then you're going to like it a little less than you did when you were younger, but it is still solid. There's not much to hate on. I'd watch it over and over again. I was really afraid it would not hold up at all, but returning to The Crow was a completely positive experience.

The only problem with batcow, is pinterest doesn't have many pictures of cows that look like they could be pets because there are rarely people with them so thats why batcow hasn't shown up. Since I have more time to plan this one, I'll look for more options and see if I can find any.

this is my first ever ask so this is kinda cool alrighty get ready bc this is going to be a LONG post. i’ll try my best to avoid spoilers. 

why i dislike joey potter from dawson’s creek: 

ok so I think what my growing hatred for Joey Potter mainly boils down to is just the fact that she is the type of character who has no personality, she is simply empty. when she does want something it’s because it helps her only, and she’s very selfish. this is hard to explain in the context of s2 which is where you are, but i am almost done with the last season and i feel this is where her character has turned to focus on over the course of the entire show. 

i will say, i completely respect other’s opinion of joey, mine is just that she’s not my favorite by any means in the show. i actually think she’s my least favorite. so i’ll try to explain that! 

let’s start with s1: 

- i actually enjoyed joey a lot in s1, i thought she was fun! she’s sassy and her “im beautful yet unaware of it” thing kinda worked. this aspect of her only works in the beginning though (since she’s young and that’s the entire point of being beautiful and young) and something i find aggravating about later seasons is this continued theme of unawareness that doesn’t fit with her character anymore. by that point, SHE SHOULD KNOW SHE’S HOT OKAY. 

- another s1 point is her relationship with Dawson. i was a strong shipper until ~certain future events~ happened because i liked them together. Girl Next Door is in love with Best Friend who’s oblivious to it, it’s a cute trope! i think for the first season, their focus on Joey’s suffering from just recently discovering her feelings for Dawson and trying to navigate them made for a good complex storyline for the Lead Female of the show. there was an exploration of female sentiment there that i personally haven’t seen a lot of, so i was interested. her relationship with Dawson in s1 was overall pretty good bc it set up excellent foundations character and plot wise for the show. 

- my only criticism (more like character-choice-to-eye-roll-to) for her relationship with Dawson in s1 is her treatment of Jen because of it. we all know Dawson falls for Jen super quick and that’s not his fault or Jen’s or Joey’s yet she chooses to blame Jen and antagonizes her the whole season because of it. basically, she was a bitch to Jen. now, that’s not to say that it didn’t make sense because it did, and i think it worked well since we need some Conflict here, but thinking back on it now after watching almost the whole show, her choices and behaviors towards Jen in s1 shift from a childish jealously funny thingy to outright unlikeable aspect of her character that is only built upon as the seasons continue. i would argue this is the beginning spark or preview into the Bitch she will eventually become. 

moving on to s2: i personally don’t remember much about joey from s2 bc my brain is Pacey Witter centered and he really shined during s2 so i apologize if i get something wrong, i’m outside my lane here teehee

- i feel that joey’s character in s2 starts it’s shift into Bitch Land and also Lost Land. this is where i feel they started to lose control of her, but something i find interesting about that is that the loss of control is extremely subtle up to the point where when you finally look back in retrospect, you can find those seeds being planted as early as s2. 

- let’s tackle her relationship with Dawson in s2. there’s a lot to unpack here, but let’s start with the fact that it started REALLY WELL!!! our queen was getting the boy of her dreams!!!!!!!!!!! and good for her, but ofc, because this is a tv show and they need drama for the ratings (i’m guessing :)) everything falls apart very quickly. i would also argue that the choice they made to break Dawson and Joey up in s2 was very definitive and formative for her character for the rest of the series; the seeds were planted when they broke up. 

- her reasons for breaking up with Dawson were understandable **at first** in my opinion, there wasn’t much reason at all to break up with him. yes, she needed to find herself (just like any young person does), but that doesn’t mean she couldn’t do it with Dawson. i actually thought they would do great at discovering her together, because i think Dawson is supportive and sensitive enough to help her. her excuse that she can’t do her art while dating Dawson was bullcrap. i could go on and on about why that is, but the best evidence of it is the fact that she hopped from Dawson to Jack with no hard feelings and continued with her art the same as before. her art didn’t get any better when she switched boyfriends so she really can’t use it as a scapegoat to explain breaking up with Dawson. 

- this break-up and then her romance with Jack is what really gets me about her in s2 though. i think Dawson actually commented on it: she wanted to be alone to find herself, but then she started dating Jack almost immediately after that decision. this is where Joey first starts contradicting herself. this is where she first starts her ever-running theme of not knowing what she wants from her life at any point in time. for inexplainable reasons, her character is confused and she has to lead everyone else along and confuse them with her. honestly, poor Dawson. she both Wants and Doesn’t Want things, and her inability to stick to one is annoying to watch. and it only gets worse! 

- her mistreatment of Jen continues, but what really gets me about her treatment of other characters in s2 is her relationship with Jack after he comes out. Jack has become one of my favorite characters in the show and his coming-out arc is (in my opinion) done extremely well for a gay character at that time. we don’t even have arcs like those THESE DAYS OF THE 21ST CENTURY WTFF!!!!!! it’s also a very important arc to me. i can’t cite all the evidence, but her friendship with him after he comes out is so messed up. she constantly acts like that weird Straight Girl Who Needs a Gay Best Friend. fucked up. she always apologizes and goes back on it after Jack has to snap at her multiple times, but it still makes her unlikable and inconsiderate to anyone but herself. Joey starts showing through her relationship with Jack that she only cares about herself. when she was dating him, she did it to feel good about HER art not because she really truly liked him, and when he came out, she wanted him to be a Stereotypical Gay Man for HERSELF, not because it was what Jack wanted, and he outright told her various times. she’s selfish. she doesn’t care about breaking Dawson’s heart and using Jack, she only sees her own benefit when she’s playing with these boys as if they’re not real people with feelings. this is another running theme that worsens her character throughout the seasons. 

- by the end of s2 i think her and Dawson are back together (i’m honestly not sure i was invested in Pacey <3) but then the whole thing with her dad happens and that was really interesting to me. her decision to breakup with Dawson in the s2 finale after what he did.... MADE SENSE. i was kind of sad about it, but it was right!!!!! she had to do that!!!! she went through a lot of trauma bc of it and being with Dawson would just remind her of it, it wasn’t fair to her!!!!! i thought, hmmm this is the cataclysm of their relationship here again. this would allow her to finally find herself after being lost all of s2 and then she can be with Dawson again. it was all set up to match together perfectly. s3 proved me wrong :) but that’s for another post. 

Joey is, at her core, an empty shell of a character. she starts off well and full of personality, but either bc of writing choices, or the audience reaction at the time they made this show, those aspects of her character start chipping away and she just becomes this unattainable sorcerer of men, who’s too good for any boy, but never good enough to be by herself. this is not the type of woman i personally enjoy watching, it gets tough watching her break everyone’s heart one by one just bc she “doesn’t know, isn’t sure.” it’s repetitive and makes for crappy drama effect. it’s frustrating. 

i’m sorry this is so long, i hope this makes it clear why she’s my least favorite character in Dawson’s Creek. again, i respect all opinions of her character. hey! if you love Joey Potter, then cool for you!!!! she’s just not that character for me, and looking just at s1-2, these are my reasons why.

you’re right, i think you totally deserve the break. it’s totally fine. in my experience, the people around me told me to take my time when i legitimately couldn’t even pick up a pen to finish my stuff. it’s weird bc that’s the first time it ever happened to me but my profs were very forgiving and told me i should take a break if i need one.

I think that’s what I struggle with the most with Tom Holland-- I only see him as a kid. I know alot of that is my age (at almost 30, I feel like anyone under the age of 25 is too young for me lol) BUT also, it doesn’t help that he plays a very young character when we first meet him (15/16) and is definitely cast in a “kid” role through out his interactions with the Avengers, which means I will pretty much always see see his version of the character as a Jr. Avenger lol. 

Spiderman has always been one of my favorite characters, and at least with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfields character we got to see them grow up and get into college/work (i guess not as much with AG, but the second movie started with them graduating so at least he sort of made it?) but with TH he’s sort of permanently stuck in highschool and that’s fine for people are that age, but for me-- why would I want to read/write about highschool kids? I don’t care about that lol

I think TH makes a great Spidey but I have always preferred the Spidey that is college age/older and not still worrying about curfews?? Plus with the TW themes and generally smuttiness I put into my Spideypool, definitely not comfortable writing about that sort of stuff ft. someone who still isn’t legal to drink. 

(and don’t get me started on the whole “oh well age him up” thing? Pretending a literal child is legal age so you can write/draw porny things about them is... well it’s awful) 

I THOUGHT RHODEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN WITH PETER TOO. I mean, I didn’t see FFH and I probably won’t tbh, but just in general? Why wouldn’t Tony’s best friend have stepped in to help with the kid Tony was mentoring? Even though I always felt like Happy was 100% ignored outside of the IM movies, so it was nice to see him in a mentor spot with Peter and then in EG he was the one who was sort of looking out for Morgan.

I thought about opening up commissions for a longer fic, but I feel like I need to retain too much control over this fic? There are some pretty intense themes about gender roles and mentions/references to the Holocaust and genocide (the mutants being experimented on and then exterminated through out history) and it’s weird to be like “yeah definitely pay me money to write this, but also, i’ll be writing whatever I want so good luck with that” lolol

Hi, I don’t really know if anyone will see this but I'm gonna try, just incase. If you do choose to respond, you can be as brutally honest & unbiased as you’d like, I’m not easily offended.

I am f19, and have been in a relationship with m18 for almost 6 years. For the sake of his privacy lets call him Joe.

lets call me Mina.

Backstory:

- Joe & I have been together since we were 13, we went to the same secondary school & college (for Americans, same middle school & high school)

- we had been close friends since we were like 11, very visibly super close friends in school.

- when we started dating at the end of our second year, we spent the entire summer together.

- when we got back he just... pretended I didn't exist????

- like tf?

- anyway, we were still hanging out outside of school, but my school separate the year based on grades in third year, so I was placed in X and he was placed in Y, therefore we had 0 classes together

- though, in the corridors, at lunch, at break, etc, he’d pretend I didn't exist???

- he also told me not to tell anyone we were dating???

- this lasted maybe 2 years? until I got really mad and he started acknowledging me in our final year of secondary school & people knew we were dating.

- his mum ended up convincing me to apply to the same college as him, we did different courses so rarely saw each other, but occasionally took the train together on one of our mutual starting times.

- now, I go to university about 2 hours away from our hometown and live there, he doesn’t go to university at all.

- when I was still 13, I did something SUPER childish, though no regrets and made a fake iMessage account so he’d think someone was texting him.

- anyway, I don't mention it for like 7 months? he denies it before saying what he said was innocent and he was just curious in a friendly way. 

- I let it go.

Kendall:

- I was probably 16 or almost 17 at this point 

- again, for privacy, we’ll call this girl Kendall.

- Kendall and I have a mutual friend, we’ll call her Tiana.

- Tiana and I were best friends.

- One day, Tiana messaged me and said hey, my friend Kendall was speaking to  Joe & realised wait isn't that Mina’s boyfriend and sent me these screenshots as soon as she realised.

- I had probably seen her name in his recent chats but didn't care enough to ask about it.

- anyway, the screenshots were just him being super flirty with emojis? like sounds childish but you know what I mean.

- and he was joking about “go to bed its past your bed time” and she was like “no why are you chatting, you’re up too”

- then. THEN. THIS BOI HAS THE AUDACITY.

- “shush and listen to your daddy”

- wHAT.

- I immediately confront him and he denies knowing anyone of that name at first, before saying oh I didn't mean it like that, it was like a mum/ dad joke we have

- so again, I let it go

Adrien:

- back in school, my maths teacher sent myself and this boy to the study area which is an open space in the school, visible from all levels.

- lets call him Adrien.

- note: adrien and I were both quite smart and in top set for most classes, our surnames are next to eachother on the register so were often seated beside each other. 

- we were very very close FRIENDS

- so we’re doing work, chatting a bit- whatever

- at some point, he jokingly pushes my head away, idk what I said, I do not remember. 

- note: the entire school is IN CLASS.

- a few seconds later, I feel my phone vibrate, sneak it out of my pocket to see a text from Joe: “why is Adrien touching your face?”

- I look around and no ones there, anyway he still gets mad about it now.

Other stuff:

- he used to threaten to kill himself if i broke up with him

- or if we were arguing he’d say he can do this anymore, imply suicide, the leave his phone for ages and get super mad if I contacted his sister or mum to find out if he was safe.

- sometimes i’d see him joking around on his sisters snapchat story when I'm panicking because he said he’d kill himself.

- I'm not materialistic, but the fact that he rarely would get me bday/xmas presents was kinda upsetting. (he has a lot of money, my family is broke but I make the BIGGEST deal out of xmas and his bday and everything)

- would work extra hours so he’d feel so so spoiled on xmas and his bday. 

- once he got me just a xmas themed toilet roll on Christmas, last year he gave me a small jar of vegan candies.

- I think he acknowledged valentines day twice in our relationship? 

- which was sad because pre-relationship, valentines was my fave day of the year & I'd hand out heart shaped chocolates to everyone at school.

- often blames his mental health on me.

- will cut me off and then act like I'm the one not listening to HIS problems. 

- if another guy has a crush on ME, then he gets mad at me?

- every boy in my college class admitted to having a crush on me at some point, awkward but my course was reliant on group projects so I couldn't just block them??? they all knew I had a bf

Extra:

- I have never orgasmed ONCE in my entire life... rip

- when I say he is ACTUALLY jealous, I mean like ACTUALLY jealous of me having a crush on like... cartoon characters?? (& also anime characters)

- has said sexist and transphobic things, that I DRAGGED him for.

- I think he's very manipulative and also immature.

- we went to Paris for my 18th birthday.
