and tbh i'm not an expert by any means im just fairly knowledgeable about some specific signs because of my loved ones. hopefully this makes /some/ sense and isn't too confusing or too much information lmfao

SO i've done some research + read a book about astrology and my biggest takeaway from the whole thing is that there's really no such thing as compatibility. those online test things don't really mean anything because we're too nuanced for that.

we have signs which rule all of our houses and planets and those influence how we control and express things like anger, creativity, love, etc. so each sign brings something that another sign needs. i believe that people of any two signs can be compatible you just need to figure out how to take advantage of each others' strengths + work through any differences.

some signs are more similar while others are more different. it can be harder for signs with opposing positions on the zodiac calendar (which is a big circle lol) because their instincts for handling different situations might be in opposition BUT depending on where their other signs are, it can change how they might respond. like for ex. i'm an aquarius sun which means im hesitant to share my emotions but bc i have a capricorn moon, that softens me up and allows me to be a little warmer than if i had an aquarius moon.

but when i say elvis needed a cancer and a taurus, i'm mostly saying that he could benefit from their best qualities like cancers are known for being very attentive and caring while tauruses are known for being very grounded, practical and realistic. so i think elvis could have benefited from those qualities more than some other zodiac's strengths. like he probably wouldnt benefit from me being kinda aloof lmao

in terms of libra specifically, they're represented by the scales so in theory, they are more focused on balance, finding purpose in others and in companionship. they're also usually pretty easy going which are all qualities i think elvis would appreciate and benefit from as well!

capricorns are usually people who need emotional connection and loyalty in their relationships so depending on your sign those things may come more or less naturally to you, but like i mentioned compatibility isn't really real because it depends both on how all of your signs interact with each other + whether or not you actually follow those instincts haha cause while it's your instinct, it isn't necessarily your action so that's what i mean by some signs have to work harder to be compatible.

anyway, having the zodiacs are helpful when pairing because it gives me a general idea of what qualities the person might have + i like to explain how a pairing might work between two signs!! i just tend to see certain signs as more compatible overall than others which is when i usually point them out :)

So, I noticed that Tinker-the-dragon showed you storyboards of their own animatic (which looks great btw, can't wait to see it), and since you said you enjoyed seeing the process, I figured I'd do the same! After all, having people acknowledge and get excited for my WIPs gives me a sense of accountability to finish it, which makes it much more likely to actually get done.

So, behold my chaotic, colorful rough sketches!

The process is slow-going, since I am simultaneously working on a couple other creative projects, some are tangentially related to this one (like how I'm finalizing my headcanon designs for all the turtles beyond just Donnie), and some aren't (like drawing long overdue art of my D&D party's characters).

I'm also making some guesses/taking some liberties when it comes to the timeline. Like, I'm assuming that this AU takes place post S2 finale, and thus will take place in the new lair, but I don't actually know. (If this has been addressed in asks before, I'm probably too new of a fan of SnapDonnie to have paid attention to those asks, and don't have the attention span to scroll through a ton of asks just to obtain a specific bit of information)

Similarly, I don't know exactly at what point Donnie starts attracting flies. It might not be as early as I'm depicting here. I can certainly move that part to a later section, but I don't know what I'd replace it with.

In general, if you have suggestions for things to be changed/switched around to better fit with the 'canon' of SnapDonnie, I'd love to hear it. It's better to make changes now while things are still very rough and flexible, than once I'm more committed and frames have taken quite a bit more effort to make.

And as for the flies, Donnie starts to attract them basically immediately once the physical changes start, though he basically douses himself with insect repellent at first (while he still wants to repel them) So frames 24 and 25 would go after he really starts to change instead of before.

I agree that it takes a lot to bring his stamina down, but once his defenses are down I see him as kind of a light beggar if that makes sense? Like he never really says stuff like “please stop” or “I can’t take it” unless it gets REALLY bad, but he’ll more so say things like “okay okay okay” and “can you switch spots?”. He doesn’t not say stuff like “please” or similar stuff because it’s embarrassing for him it’s more so that he feels like if he still has some more stamina to take it then he will. He’s got no problem saying please though if you got him really good 🤭

He was greeted by your voice. You took a deep breath before singing, and with wide eyes he realized that you were describing him. You sang about how you adored him, the sparkle of determination in his eyes, the sly grin you'd give him after a successful practice

You were a vocaloid, but you loved him with all of your heart. The song made his own heart swell, but he didn't realize its purpose until you sang a final, "I love you-" before you were cut off, apparently shutting down

Rui found the Sekai to be one of the most fascinating things in the world. A place born purely from Tsukasa's feelings was certainly an interesting place to be!

He loved visiting the Sekai whenever he could. The atmosphere was loud yet homey, and he was able to be with you

You were absolutely lovely company, and he always felt comfortable with you. Miku would cheer the two of you on, and you would always laugh her off. You both had fallen for each other though

He was going to the Sekai to ask you out on a date, only to not find you. This was a normal occurrence with how big the Sekai was, so he found Miku and asked where you were

"Oh..." An uncharacteristic frown was on her face, and Rui was immediately filled with worry. "Um...They wanted you to have this." She handed him a music box and ran off

He tilted his head at her but took it, expressing his thanks before walking to a quieter part of the Sekai

Upon winding it up, he was able to hear your voice. You were singing, and it didn't take him long to realize that you were singing about him. You sang about your love for him, how you adored listening to his rambles, how he would give you hugs before he left

Neither of you thought it was possible for a vocaloid to love, but you did. He was warm, until you sang a final "I love you-" and was cut off. 

It didn't take him too long to realize what had happened. For whatever reason, you had been shut down. He...Couldn't really process it properly

A bitter laugh escaped him, and he hugged himself, tears slipping down his face. He couldn't- You couldn't- Surely you-

Eight is a primarily black fluffy spider. He has 6 arms along his torso, at the very begging of each joint theres dark orange fur, this is also applied at the top of his thighs where they connect to his hips. Despite him eating well, he's quite thin and lean, ribs and other bones being very visible under his fur.

He has bright yellow eyes that stand out in the dark, as well as eight of them.

Despite his many eyes 8 has less than par eyesight. He is permanently seeing through the equivalent of a foggy mirror. Due to this he relies mainly on his hearing and other senses. He can sense movement and sound and relies on that more than what he actually see's.

Eight is carnivorous and eats small animals ranging from mice, rabbits, rats, squirrels, cats, and more.

He is very flexible, horrifically so, it's quite scary.

PERSONALITY

Eight is just a silly goofy little guy. He talks a lot about everything on his mind all the time. If he thinks it he'll say it. Due to his "talk first think later" mentality, he often snaps back with snarky comments unintentionally or is just plain rude without noticing because he's literally just speaking his mind. He's working on it. Despite this he is genuinely very caring and nice and just wants friends to talk to for hours even if all they'll do is just sit and listen.

BACKSTORY

Eight remembers nothing from before he was turned or even how he was turned. He woke up in a forest as a spider mutant and just kind of rolled with it, living in the forest for a while before getting bored and lonely, so he decided to explore. In his exploration he came across the turtles massive fucking mansion and was like "OMG SO MANY HIDING SPACES!!!" and pretty much just crawled in through somewhere (maybe an open window or a vent) he wandered around only intending to stay for a bit then head back to where he called "home" until he heard ishida and was in aw "COOL PERSON!!!!! :DDD" so he stuck around to see him again and became the houses unknown pest control, in return for consuming all rodents and other small animals he covered every possible hiding place in webs.

On another day of saying hi to an unknowing ishida (I mean he literally just. Sat in the shadows and waved at ishida or to him a green and white blurry thing. It's like waving at a character on a tv lol) he got distracted and slipped up, not noticing donnie and pretty much unable to see where he was freaked out and got his ass caught.. Oh no... :( BOZO sorry anyways and then starts a new era of being restrained and the looming threat of losing his arms and eyes ^^

It's unsure why he has such an interest in Ishida, maybe it's admiration? Maybe he thinks he's pretty?? Or maybe he's just really fucking hungry and wants to eat him, he does eat rabbits after all.... :/// idc what you interpret it as or whatever!! why i thought michael wheeler was gay before i even knew what stranger things was about - why i decided to watch ST in the first place

ok ok ok so yes i know this sounds crazy and insane and impossoble even. i mean you have to watch a show to know if the characters are gay, right? wrong.

But how'd you even know who mike was before you watched ST?

becauuuseee honeyyyy, ur a kid on the internet, you watch videos on youtube, lots of those will unfortunately be top 10 videos cause ur like 10 or 11 or sum shit. anyways, you see clips from popular shows and medias. some of those are stranger things clips and you get half way familiar with the characters so you know who millie bobby brown is and you know what mikes face looks like.

anyways, this brings me to my next... statement? point? anyways... so yeah, i cant remember what video i was watching or anything, but a clip from stranger things comes up. i knew it was ST cause it was popular and shit n duhhhh. ANYWAYS the clip was El Dumping Mike's Ass ™ and, i cant remember if it was the clip saying it or my own gaydar going off, but i think it was my gaydar, BUT i imeditately clocked mike as gay. i was what.... 6th grade? maybe? at the most.

anyways, i watched mike getting dumped and somehow, someway, i just knew. i just imediately knew. and yknow... part of me thinks it was just the fact that back then because i hadnt watched the show, i was comepletely utterly totally unbiased. like my slate was clean. i knew nothing of anything besides that clip. maybe it is more obvious than we think....

Why did I start watching Stranger Things?

OK OK OK OK OK SO- okkayy saurrrrrrrrr basically, i have a friend. her name is tina. (thats her nickname ok dw im not like leaking personal info chill) anyways. she sat with me in art last year, and i knew from sitting with her that year and knowing her in the previous years that she was a really big fan of stranger things. sooooooo yeah i sat with her in art and i guess she knew that i hadnt watched stranger things, so like... she realllllyyyyyy wanted me to watch stranger things she was like "omg you should totally watch stranger things youd like it so much theyre coming out with a new season this summer im so excited" so i was like omggggg but yk shes always trying to make me watch shit n ykyk, whatever.

one day she convinces me or- wait no i think she forced me, and i kinda like- caved or smt. anyways, we end up watching the first episode on her phone during art class. lmao slay. so we finish the first episode and im thinking it was really good like wow but my ass probably wont watch the second episode cause im terrible at getting commited like wow

and ok- so herereeeee, here comes the kicker- the slingshot into ST. like why i actually like continued to watch.

i was still in my h<3rt stopper (censoring cause it would be annoying if this was in their tag) hyperfixation, or more like i was just getting out of my HS hyperfixation. I watched the series 3 times so i was getting a bit burnt out, so i needed something else to fan over, something else to watch. but not anything, it had to be gay. because lord KNOWS we do NOT have enough gay shit to watch. like i need it. and- im sorry- but not crappy indie films (disclaimer- indie films are NOT all crappy, theres just... some .... iykyk💀) or weird.... weird ones that make no sense and are just there for like... sex and honestly i have no fucking clue.

no i needed GAYURIJRH anyways,,,,, so i dm Tina and im like "omg tinaaaa helllpp meeee 👹 i need gay stuff to watch theres no good ones 😭" and so she gives me a list of shows with gay characters in them, and then shes like "Will from Stranger Things is gay lmao" (pre season 4 btw) so im like, in my mind, im like "Cool 😃 Mike Wheeler from Stranger Things is gay 😃" no duckiebuckie she said will- "Mike Wheelr is gay 😃" *queue past memories and preconceived notions of the past now flodding forward*

so. i waited a couple days. then i watched the first episode again this time with my little brother and like the rest of season 1 (not all at once) and i, fully, utterly, comepletely, totally, full heartedly believed that Mike was gay (i mean he is but thats not the point right now) like- i just, believed it. i just simply took it as fact. literally no one ever actually told me Mike was gay. i had just like, thought it was canon. like i actually thought it was canon. like genuinley. its so fucking funny thinking about it now because i really actually dont think i ever saw anyone or anything actually stating Mike was gay or anything, like my own seld really had made it canon. like wow. icon. again, it couldve been that one video, but i kinda like also dont. YKWWWW- I LIKE- ok so i even went to the point of like, during or after watching the first episode, imagining a little coming out scenario LATER THAT SEASON with mike telling Dustin and Lucase (cant remember if- WAIT OH MY GODDDD I JUST REMEMBERED- WILL WASNT IN THE SENARIO I WAS IMAGINING BECAUSE MIKE WAS COMING OUT TO LUCAS AND DUSTIN AS GAY AND HE LIKED WILL- YALL I REALLY HAVE BEEN A BYLER SHIPPER SINCE THE BEGINNING HUH 🥹🥹 (btw i would like to mention that this was less of a head canon and more of a "oh this is probably gonna happen like this is whats happening" kinda thing LMFAOOOOOO

and then mike kissed el and i was like what the fuck 😟

So we see this one tiktok compilation and its stranger thins ofc and the title says (very gay) and shes like, ya wanna watch this one? and im like (my ass had already seen this same complilation, but i remembered the greatness that it held) so i agree.

so previously, i had watched the video and just kinda ignored the byler stuff cause i didnt ship (although i would like to make a disclaimer that i was not a mileven shipper either. i kinda just thought they were like cute and yk oh theyre the main couple cool ig it is what it is like this is how its gonna be ig) anyways, but this time (i think we had like briefly discussed mikes sexuality earlier, and decided he was prolly definitely just straight (but discussing it in the first place is like, kinda telling lmfao)) so it was on my mind. so this time, when the byler vid came on, i payed more attention. it was a rink o mania edit. and i saw his facial expression. i saw that fucking facial expression.

so me and Tina™ paused the video, and we were like "ok... so like, I think Mike is straight... but like that facial expression he just made. but like hes definitely straight right? yeah... but that expressionnnnnnn.... but like yeah, right? yeah.. anyways...." and then we watched the rest of the video.

My Point?

The whole reason I started watching Stranger Things in the first place was because I thought Mike was gay. If Mike Wheeler is not gay, I will have watched Stranger Things for nothing. yes, i stayed and kept watching even after m*l*v*n was established because stranger things is just so good, how could you not? but my point still stands. The whole reason for me even deciding to keep watching after the first episode was because i thought mike was gay. and it seems that we've come full circle now, because once again, i believe mike wheeler is gay and my enjoyment (and ST) depends on Mike being gay.

Grahhhhhh Percival makes me actually wild, hes a triton, he looks like this, sorry If ive showed you him before I cant remember

but this guy makes me actually wild. hes so unwell hes got so many issues. we've finally started getting a little into his lore in the campaign and I got to call his sister last session which is a big step, and hes finally getting comfortable with the party calling him nicknames which is a big deal because like very very early on campaign I told the other players that he was the type to silently judge you if you called him Perci instead of Percival if you weren't close with him, but last session was the first time one of the other people slipped and called him perci and I got to be like 'he doesnt react negatively' and theyre all like omg we got nickname privileges and im very happy about it at the same time unfortunately though, a lot of his development is kinda gonna go down the drain now because we've got a new player joining the campaign and its really gonna mess him up, he was finally feeling comfortable in the character dynamic, they just saved his life literally and that means a lot to him, but now a new person is joining and thats going to feel like a big betrayal of trust he had a party before this one a few years ago, when he was a lot newer to the surface, and they didnt really care about him or treat him well, and so to get healed by the others meant a lot, because the other party wouldnt heal him unless he was fully downed, always saying that he was overreacting because he was a kid (he was 16-17 at the time) which just wasn't true, this guy has a high pain tolerance and is used to hiding injuries from adults, and so to 1. see his party immediately heal him and for even the pacifist to start taking the fight seriously once he got seriously injured meant a ton, and 2. that they didnt immediately freak out at his blood being the 'wrong color' (his blood is blue) also meant a ton to him. this guy has issues he has so many issues. hes got some kind of complex about not being human enough and it messes him up, but the party has all been nice about him being nonhuman and it means a lot, even though he still tries to mask a lot of his nonhuman traits around them

in the future at some point the campaign is going to go back to the undersea and im trying to figure out how he would react to that. even though hes a fish and comes from the ocean, ever since he left at 16 I dont think hes ever, or at least not often, gone back. his parents were really awful, and hes scared to step very deep into the water because, even though he can breathe underwater literally, metaphorically it would feel like drowning. I think he might be able to put it aside for a little bit for the sake of the party and having to teach them how to move around underwater and stuff, but I definitely think it would mess him up pretty bad. he would also be happy to see his sister though, she's an artificer, and is probably going to be the one to give them the stuff that allows them to breathe underwater, he cares about her a ton and vice versa. ironic for him to be a fish with a fear of the ocean

fun little details about him: - he has a sending stone flavored as a seashell, his shell phone we call it, he uses it to call his sister and thats the only contact it has, and its a cowrie shell (his sisters' is a conch) - He really idolizes his sister, she pretty much raised him, she's the reason he dyes his hair white and wears it in a ponytail - This fish is transgender 💪💪💪 so is his sister too - He can bioluminesce and its one of his stims is that he makes the lights flash up and down his forearms - his name is a fish pun based on the genus perciformes

We got to do a thing recently where he was like actually scared, because he has a lot of issues with bodily autonomy and so being mind controlled is one of his worst fears/triggers, and there was/is a very real potential for that to happen, and its one of the first times the party has ever seen him scared and I love describing the changes in his body language. Most of the time he presents himself very confidently for lack of better term, very open body language, but when hes scared that changes, he doesnt lean back as much, his tail flicks, he clutches at his forearms (especially since one was recently injured when he almost died) and leaves claw marks in his leather bracers, etc
