Phantom, the new addition to Young Justice, just accidentally made Impulse cry.
Whoops.
Impulse had been talking about a candy that had been in the future, that he missed a lot, that had no equivalent in modern times.
So the next time Danny was in the Zone, he asked Clockwork if he could reach into the future and grab a bar. Clockwork just told him that the timeline he was talking about was dead, but that the people from it were occupying the Zone if he skipped forward in time a bit; maybe one of them knows how to do a homemade version?
So he does that, with the help of Clockwork, and manages to find someone from that doomed and dead timeline that knows how to make a homemade equivalent.
He returns to the world of the living and recreates it, and Impulse is beyond ecstatic for both the food and the recipe.
Then he asks where Danny found this.
Danny, mostly human but having been something other for so long that the concept of 'Death' doesn't hit him the same way, cheerfully says he sought the dead souls of the future that had been dissolved and asked.
Now everyone is glaring at him and Impulse can't stop crying.
Shit.

♡ Please reblog and comment on this post are much, much appreciated ♡
Don't be fooled by his unassuming appearance, for you never know what lies behind that innocent and sunshine-filled face of his.
If you thought Zayne was the hardest to read, then you're wrong.
At first glance, he appears like any regular civilian, hiding his true nature behind a carefully constructed facade. He avoids discussing his background, creating an air of mystery around him.
As time passes and you both continue to cross paths, Xavier's presence in your life becomes more than just coincidence. The moments spent together, the shared laughter, and the mutual support Xavier effortlessly establishes a friendship that feels natural and authentic.
As the bond between you strengthens, Xavier's presence becomes a source of comfort and solace. His unwavering dedication to your well-being is evident in the small gestures of kindness, the thoughtful words, and the unwavering support he provides.
The nicest guy you’ve ever met, he is always there to lend a helping hand, whether it's assisting you with your own challenges or guiding you through difficult situations. His genuine care and concern for your well-being are evident in every interaction, as he goes above and beyond to ensure your happiness and safety.
So how can you ever suspect anything weird when he spends his time reading and sleeping all the time? While he may possess formidable fighting skills and experience, his gentle nature and soothing presence overshadow any doubts that may arise.
Xavier's aura alone brings you comfort, lulling you into a sense of security that makes it nearly impossible to question his motives.
Even if he is physically out of reach, Xavier constantly assures you that he is by your side.
He makes it clear that all you need to do is call for him, and he will come to you, no matter the distance or the obstacles. It is as if he has sworn an unbreakable oath to be your loyal knight, ready to protect and support you at all costs.
In Xavier's eyes, you are the center of his universe, the one person who holds the key to his heart. He sees himself as your guardian, ready to sacrifice anything and everything to ensure your well-being.
Thus why falling for him was easy.
Too easy that you didn’t realize you have fallen into the depths of his twisted love.
Xavier possesses an uncanny ability to blend into society seamlessly, making it nearly impossible for others to suspect his true nature.
From the moment you first encountered Xavier, there was a cosmic force that bound you together, like star-crossed lovers fated to meet repeatedly. Even amidst chaos and unfortunate circumstances, Xavier always finds his way to your side, just as he promised long ago.
It was not cosmic force or fate, it was all his doings.
Death may be your constant companion, but Xavier is your eternal lover. No entity, not even a deity, can come between the inseparable bond that exists between you. Death is merely a phase, he will find you in another life.
From the moment he first laid eyes on you, he knew that you were meant to be his. He firmly believes that your destinies are entwined, that you were never meant for anyone else, and he will go to great lengths to ensure that no one else lays claim to your heart.
To Xavier, you are the sole focus of his existence. Xavier's devotion knows no boundaries, as he is willing to sacrifice anything and anyone to ensure your safety and happiness.
Why do you think he goes extra lengths to provide you with everything? Because he loves you.
Was it a coincidence that he was your neighbor? Of course not!
Every action he takes, every sacrifice he makes, is fueled by a love that surpasses all reason.
He meticulously plans your encounters, orchestrating seemingly random meetings to further deepen the illusion of coincidence.
He has a network of informants and spies who provide him with information about you. He has carefully cultivated relationships with people in your life, gaining their trust and loyalty. These individuals unknowingly feed him information, allowing him to stay one step closer to you at all times.
He lives in the shadows, unseen and unnoticed, but his presence is always felt. He knows your routines, your habits, your deepest fears and desires. His knowledge of you is intimate, as if he has studied every minute detail of your existence.
Would he sacrifice himself for you to continue to live? Without hesitation. To Xavier, your life is the ultimate prize, and he would gladly lay down his own to ensure your survival.
Xavier's perception of the world is warped by his obsession, blurring the lines between what is real and what he desires to be real. He sees you as his possession, his soulmate, his reason for existence.
Time and fate will always be his obstacle as they’re conspiring against his absurd ideas. However, he refuses to be content with mere obsessions or imaginations; he wants you and him to become a reality.
In the early stages, even before being in a relationship, Xavier exhibits subtle signs of jealousy. His protective nature, while initially endearing, can become suffocating as the relationship progresses.
Once you are officially together, his jealousy becomes more pronounced and dangerous, leading to harm or even death for those who dare to steal you away.
No need to check on the news headline. Lifeless bodies scattered like fallen leaves, has become all too common, it’s the cause of wanderer has been ramping up lately, angel.
It was partially not the cause of wanderers.
Even in the face of your defiance, you are acutely aware of the futility of your resistance. He will abduct you, whisking you away to a distant planet, far beyond the reach of prying eyes from the world.
In this alternate reality, you are left with no choice but to accept your fate. The notion of escape becomes nothing more than a distant dream.
The stars become witnesses to your eternal entwining, as the universe itself seems to acknowledge the dark and twisted love that binds you both.

Hi lanny! Could you provide a guide on how to get into working out? 💗💖
GUIDE TO STARTING TO WORK OUT
Tumblr media Tumblr media
hi lele 💝☀️ hope this guide helps you w your journey!!
The first step to working out is setting goals related to exercise, not physical appearance. Avoid things like fat loss, muscle gain, smaller waist, bigger glutes and so on.
While you can make this a separate goal, the reason why I don’t want you to associate it with exercise is that we then allow the way our body looks to dictate whether we believe the exercise we’re doing is good enough.
Exercise and body aesthetics are two different things. Exercise is a means of nourishing our body, soul and mind, while body aesthetics is how ‘good’ our body looks.
On that topic, I want you to stop focusing on your physical appearance when starting to exercise and I want you to start implementing a new mindset shift about your body. Instead of seeing your body as something to look at, appreciate it for what it can do.
For example, your hands create meals, hug your loved ones and help you with essential tasks. Your legs help you to get around, especially to your favourite places. Your stomach helps with digesting all the yummy food you eat.
Some goal ideas:
Lift 15kg+
Be able to do a plank for more than 5 minutes
Learn how to do a push-up
Be able to run on the treadmill for 30 minutes
Gain more stamina and exercise for longer
Moving on, set a time each day in which you prioritise exercise. This can be for however long you want and the times can vary daily.
So, during this period, you are not allowed to do anything else other than exercise. It doesn’t even have to be a specific exercise either, if you’re feeling lazy and laps walking around the house is what feels best, do it.
However, avoid obsessing over working out and losing yourself to exercise. This kills motivation, in exercise starts to feel like another obligation in the day and not a privilege.
Now, you have to choose what exercise is right for you. I don’t believe you’re limited to one exercise, if you want you can have more than 1.
Gym – Perfect for a mix of strength and cardio, however not the best option if you want to exercise for free.
Yoga – Tones muscles while also being a mindful experience. Low low-impact, but recommend doing it after cardio.
Cycling – Tones the legs and the glutes, but cycling may not be the best idea depending on where you live.
running/jogging – Strengthens muscles and bones, however, if you don’t have flat areas, may not be the best idea.
Pilates – Improves flexibility and tone, while still being low impact (still may be challenging).
Weightlifting – Makes you stronger and boosts your metabolism, best done at the gym.
There are plenty of ways to exercise that I haven’t mentioned here, but these are just ideas so you can research the ones that suit you best.
I recommend talking to a doctor if you haven’t done exercise in a long time, as that can open up the possibility of injury.
Then, once we have our goals, times and what we’re doing, we need to exercise. Implementing exercise in your life is best done slowly.
Start with simple, and smaller versions of workouts, even if you think you can do more. Do this for about a week, then try to extend yourself with something harder. If it is too hard, don’t be afraid to go back a step.
Make it fun, create a motivating exercise playlist or watch your favourite TV show while doing it.
However, the main thing about exercising is that every day you are not always going to feel like it, but that is when we have to discipline ourselves, talk to the mirror and say; ‘Me exercising is a privilege, I get to nourish my body because I love and respect it so much’.
This was the best way I disciplined myself into working out. Treating it like a privilege and something that is very benefical, rather than a painstakingly challenging activity.
Or, instead, you can visualise what you would look and feel like if you continue like this for the next 5 years.

Theon's choice not to visit Alannys was not a choice
Cannot believe it took this long for me to get around to this meta—also, feel free to read my whole spiel about Theon's father figures in Ned, Balon, and Roose here, because it does inform my view.
OK, Alannys Harlaw hours.
The conception of Theon's motivations in the situation where he does not go to see his mother when he returns to the Islands is a bit harsh on Theon. It ignores that Theon has not been avoiding Alannys all these years: he has been kept from her. Theon's access to her has always been controlled by the NedBalons in his life.
I want to get into the idea that this is not happenstance. That Theon's father figures control his access to his mother, which is not even a novel concept in ASOIAF. Jon Snow, who is Theon's foil, also has access to his mother restricted by—woah! Ned Stark as well!! (And both Jon and Theon are expected to be grateful for this too.)
Theon's homecoming to Pyke does not result in him rushing triumphant as the prodigal son into his loving mother's arms because in fact Alannys is not even on Pyke (though Theon thought she would be). Nope, it's Theon's suspicious, resentful, and yes "homophobic" uncle as well as father who Theon meets. From here it is just assumed that Theon has perfect access to Alannys, and that him not hopskipping over to Harlaw is purely his preference. (Are you catching on to the idea that I disagree with this, yet?)
Getting into Theon as a character & how he acts under suspicious/mistrustful eyes:
As a boy, he had lived in fear of Stark's stern face and great dark sword. His wife was, if anything, even more distant and suspicious. [ACOK, Theon I]
-
“What I am about to tell you must not leave this room,” she told them. “I want your oaths on that. If even part of what I suspect is true, Ned and my girls have ridden into deadly danger, and a word in the wrong ears could mean their lives.” “Lord Eddard is a second father to me,” said Theon Greyjoy. “I do so swear.” [AGOT, Catelyn III]
-
Ned turned back to his wife. “Once you are home, send word to Helman Tallhart and Galbart Glover under my seal. They are to raise a hundred bowmen each and fortify Moat Cailin. Two hundred determined archers can hold the Neck against an army. Instruct Lord Manderly that he is to strengthen and repair all his defenses at WhiteHarbor, and see that they are well manned. And from this day on, I want a careful watch kept over Theon Greyjoy. If there is war, we shall have sore need of his father’s fleet.” [AGOT, Eddard IV]
Theon knows he is not trusted in Winterfell. Catelyn including Theon in this circle of ooh secrets is mostly due to the fact that Robb physically brought him & also because she knows that Theon does not really even have the ability to betray her on this front. He definitely knows that. Ned does not have a paternal relationship with Theon & does not perceive himself as Theon's father any more than Theon believes he is Ned's son (in the manner that Robb or Bran or even Jon is), so why does Theon lie here?
HE IS OVERPERFORMING HIS COMMITMENT TO THE PATRIARCH FIGURE IN WHOSE HANDS HIS LIFE/FUTURE LIES.
Theon predicates his vow to Catelyn with an affirmation of his willingness to do service to Ned, and in fact that's what his access to her relies on. That's probably why he makes such a production of incessantly flirting with her too; because of how it implies he is in Ned and later Robb's good graces! Of course AGOT Theon is also just a flirt for the purposes of producing his masculinity in general. But does anyone really disagree? Moving on.
The door was grey wood studded with iron, and Theon found it barred from the inside. He hammered on it with a fist, and cursed when a splinter snagged the fabric of his glove. The wood was damp and moldy, the iron studs rusted. After a moment the door was opened from within by a guard in a black iron breastplate and pothelm. "You are the son?" "Out of my way, or you'll learn who I am." [ACOK, Theon I]
(Even the damn door is in on it LOL)
Theon knelt. He had a purpose here, and might need Aeron's help to achieve it. A crown was worth a little mud and horseshit on his breeches, he supposed.
-
He was playing the part of a dutiful young prince for the moment, while he waited for Lord Balon to reveal the fullness of his plans. [ACOK, Theon II]
-
"My father gave me the command here, Uncle." "And sent me to counsel you." And to watch me. Theon dare not push matters too far with his uncle. The command was his, yes, but his men had a faith in the Drowned God that they did not have in him, and they were terrified of Aeron Damphair. [ACOK, Theon III]
THEON IS PERFORMING FOR BALON. His father doesn't approve of him and Theon is playing the part. He is making every overture and concession to obedience, or piety, that is asked of him. Balon, Aeron, Asha, even Victarion make sure he knows when he's failing—whether it's with an express disapproval or just a knowing laugh. Theon notes all of this because due to how he was raised he's extremely perceptive of how those with power over him regard him.
And Balon does not criticize Theon for not visiting Alannys.
"Will I find my sister and my lady mother at Pyke?" "You will not. [ACOK, Theon I]
-
Harlaw is only a day’s sail, and surely Lady Greyjoy yearns for a last sight of her son.” “Would that I could. I am kept too busy here. My father relies on me, now that I am returned. Come peace, perhaps...” [ACOK, Theon II]
Theon visiting his mother is not reliant on his own self-motivation, but on whether or not Balon grants him access to her. This is not to say Balon expressly forbade it or that there would have been any direct consequences if Theon had gone over... but it's about goodwill, not permission! What else changes between Theon asking about Alannys when he returns to Pyke and when he explicitly tells Asha that he can't go see her because Balon, because war? Simple: he needs to prove himself to his father as loyal and strong first. To make it explicit, Ned & Robb allowed Theon access to Catelyn in the same manner that Balon refuses (or, at the least, disapproves of) Theon's access to Alannys. Theon is sensitive to this disapproval and does not push the matter.
The only person who pushes Theon to go to Alannys is Asha. Asha obviously has Balon's trust, though, and it could be said she takes it for granted. Asha's level of understanding of Theon is complex; she recognizes him but she doesn't know him. When she says this:
You are blood of my blood, Theon, whatever else you may be. For the sake of the mother who bore us both, return to Deepwood Motte with me. [ACOK, Theon V]
it's actually wild how much is packed in here. For the sake of the mother who bore us both: Theon doesn't yet have the right to Alannys or even know how she'd receive him, given his other receptions on Pyke. Return to Deepwood Motte: the castle Theon believes he should have been tasked with taking above Asha, a concrete proof of his father's mistrust in him, which amongst other reasons spurs on his taking on Winterfell to begin with.
Personally I think Theon as a symbol of Balon's failed rebellion does make him, in Balon's eyes, also a symbol of his failed marriage. Theon does not confirm Baelon's masculinity as a son should, as Asha does. He is a reminder of the ways in which Balon lacks.
I also believe that Theon ~misses his mother, FWIW. He thinks back to his childhood sleeping in the Sea Tower while on his way to Pyke which is a mommy-coded memory; he expects to sleep in his old chambers again when he returns to Pyke—both that and his expectation of seeing Alannys are swiftly disabused. He will not be slipping into his old roles, Theon learns through the reunion with Balon which is violent in more ways than one. It's interesting because Theon actually expects to have to prove himself to his father (which is why he comes armed with a plan for taking Casterly Rock) but he doesn't expect to be punished for having been held hostage all these years.
If we are indulging in symbolism, though:
Above the Sea Tower snapped his father's banner. The Myraham was too far off for Theon to see more than the cloth itself, but he knew the device it bore: the golden kraken of House Greyjoy, arms writhing and reaching against a black field. The banner streamed from an iron mast, shivering and twisting as the wind gusted, like a bird struggling to take flight. And here at least the direwolf of Stark did not fly above, casting its shadow down upon the Greyjoy kraken. [ACOK, Theon I]
The Sea Tower where Theon's childhood memories & hopes for return to his family lie is dominated by his father's banner. At least it's Balon Greyjoy and not Ned Stark, Theon tells himself. Yet the result is the paralleled, mirrored, as Balon and Ned often are with Theon: under Ned's control Theon can't see Alannys because he is Balon Greyjoy's son, while under Balon's control Theon is discouraged from seeing Alannys because he isn't son enough. Perhaps Theon does prioritize the goodwill of his patriarch because he views it as an essential ingredient to his survival and success... but he's also absolutely aware of the role the wife/mother/lady/queen plays in the whole arena too. As power, as leverage. It's pretty plain when you consider that he tells Barbrey she could claim leadership over the North if she so desired. He took such pleasure in being relatively intimate with Catelyn as well.
So, he knows. Yet they're still all held above his head like a little treat. Delicious.

Conversation from these posts-
I'd like to address both of these at once, because I think they're very much related.
One Piece is not actually very interested in explicitly condemning almost anyone. Constantly, characters who have done things many may view as beyond unforgivable, are still portrayed in ways that make them likable, and are accepted by main characters. Not because the main characters approve of their past actions, but because as they're not actively harming anyone at the moment, they see no reason to disapprove of them. Or, because they have no inclination to judge them and simply take them as they are.
There are countless characters whose terrible deeds are not censored or sugarcoated, who are still made to be enjoyable, likable characters. Their motivations are not just explained, but portrayed with the full depth of their emotions. This could be interpreted as sympathetic, but I think it's rather matter-of-fact. There's a wide spectrum of this, and it may come across that those on the lighter end of it are being justified or forgiven by this portrayal, but taken in the full context of what One Piece has to say about these characters, I think it's clear that the judgement is left up to us.
In a lot of simpler stories aimed at younger audiences, the main characters are moral guides for the reader. One Piece is not one of them. Not that I don't think it's not trying to teach us anything, but rather than right and wrong, it's how to enjoy life to the fullest. Right and wrong is left for us to discern ourselves without the overt cues of a morally didactic story. I think the depth of the portrayal of bad and questionable actors is primarily to be compelling and enjoyable, but it's also a candid expression of humanity.
I don't think Shanks is a perfect moral character, nor is he supposed to be. He's Luffy's hero, not ours. Same with Roger.
It's true that being called to the sea is given a particular romance, but their misdeeds made in the name of following it aren't just glossed over. Rather, I think the focus on it is very much on purpose, because the same will lives in Luffy and The Strawhats.
Who aren't just avoiding the same mistakes because they're inherently better, but because they're informed by the mistakes of the previous generations.
Usopp, like Yassop, longed for the sea. But he anxiously made sure Kaya was on the way to health, taken care of, and okay with him leaving before he left. He's looking forward to coming back to see her. As much as Usopp has always had a kind heart, you can't say this wasn't influenced by his experiences with his parents.
Luffy, like Roger, longed for the sea. Like Roger and Garp, he has deeply selfish inclinations. However, Luffy is sensitive to the suffering of others, and would never leave anyone behind. This has a lot to do with loving Ace and Sabo, respectively victims of Roger's selfish pursuit of his dream and the institution of injustice Garp carelessly lives by.
I don't think it's a stretch to say Nami was influenced by Arlong's inability to forgive humanity, strengthening her resolve to break the cycle and forgive Jinbei for letting Arlong loose.
Anyways, I think the lack of judgement on the part of Luffy and Shanks is a big part of their power to get people to follow them, and a big part of their successes. But the narrative isn't telling us to also accept murderers and deadbeats, or that they're actually great people. It simply shows them how they are, which is human.

Tumblr media
Rivalty In The Air
They had finally defeated Doflamingo and his damn family! Dressrosa could finally go back to living normally, without the oppression of the blond Warlord. At the same time, Kaido had taken a pretty big hit! And Y/n couldn't help but appreciate that, being originally from the Country of Wano, she knew the situation there perfectly. Everything was that damned Yonko's fault! She was ready to do anything to bring him down, but she wasn't blind; she knew very well that she wasn't up to the fight...
However, seeing the Straw Hat crew and the Heart Pirates defeat a Warlord gave her hope. She was perfectly aware that they had individually no chance against a Yonko, but... maybe by forming an alliance with them, by uniting their strengths, they could dethrone the Emperor and thus restore Wano to its former glory.
She had only one regret about this alliance...
She had to leave the Revolutionary Army, with whom she had spent most of her life. They had been so welcoming, open, and adorable to her. She had told them everything about what was happening in her country, why she had fled, and how she had ended up with them by chance. Even though she had other goals than the Revolutionaries, she decided to stay with them for a few years, to help them, but also to strengthen herself for her initial goal.
It was there that she met Sabo, a young blond man with a scar over his left eye. At first, she didn't feel like she belonged, not really sharing the Revolutionaries' ideals, but the blond had welcomed her with open arms and a huge smile.
It didn't take long for the young woman to fall under Dragon's right-hand man's charm. Through missions together, they had gradually grown closer, even sneaking away together to talk about everything and nothing. Just when Y/n had gathered the courage to confess her feelings to the blond, she learned from her colleagues that the Straw Hat crew and the Heart Pirates had formed an alliance. And together they had kidnapped Caesar, who was the inventor of the artificial Devil Fruits known as Smiles, which Kaido desperately needed.
She didn't have to look far to understand the goal of the two Supernova captains: to eliminate Kaido. She knew these two crews very well, one being the crew of Sabo's younger brother and the other still a member of the Worst Generation, just like Luffy. It was hard not to know them... After thinking about it for a long time, that same night, she decided to leave the Revolutionary Army and propose an alliance to these two pirates. If Kaido was going to be overthrown, she wanted to be part of it, if only to get revenge for what he had done to her homeland!
With a heavy heart, she said goodbye to her precious friends and especially... to Sabo. There were not many possible outcomes: either she succeeded in the alliance and managed to kill Kaido, or... Well, they would all be killed, or she would be killed by Law, thinking she might be a spy or something... He seemed like a paranoid guy to her but well, she didn’t have a choice. She just had to convince him.
To avoid worrying her friends, she lied about her motivations and simply announced that she was taking a break, just to rethink her main goal. Of course, Sabo, who already knew the story between Kaido and Y/n, immediately became worried, but he only had time to panic before the young girl had taken him aside and planted a kiss on his cheek as a farewell.
That's how she sailed the seas, gathering information about the alliance between the two Supernova captains, and eventually arrived on Dressrosa Island. There, she met the famous pirates and explained the reason for her visit. Of course, Law was not very happy to hear this; he even kept his hand on his precious nodachi, Kikoku.
Quite the opposite of Luffy, who welcomed her without any suspicion and with a broad smile. Apparently, that 10,000-Watt smile ran in the family! Well as a matter of speaking. She didn't mention Sabo to Luffy, remembering that Sabo would soon see him for himself. She wouldn't want to ruin their reunion! From then on, she was officially welcomed into the alliance between the two pirates and the samurai.
The alliance was divided into several groups, and Y/n ended up in the group responsible for destroying the Smile factories. She tried to be useful to her group, but Zoro made a point of arguing with her every time, claiming she was up to no good. That's when someone took one of Zoro's swords, Shusui.
"Damn it, Shusui! Hey! Give me back my sword!" the swordsman exclaimed, rushing to chase after his katana.
"You're quite the great pirate," the young woman laughed, staying still along with the rest of the group, except for Kinemon, who followed Zoro.
"This is all your fault!" Zoro retorted, still managing to hear the young woman.
-"How is it my fault?!" she replied angrily, running towards the swordsman to confront him.
-"You distracted me!"
-"What? That's ridiculous, do you realize that?"
-"That's enough, we need to catch that thief and get Shusui back-de-gozaru!" Kinemon interrupted, redoubling his efforts in the chase.
It took several minutes for Kinemon to get lost during the pursuit, while Zoro and Y/n resumed their bickering. Despite their less than favorable condition, they managed to catch up to the thief and retrieve the katana. They met Wicca, a dwarf or fairy belonging to the Tontatta Kingdom. She explained that the situation was getting worse, and the Don Quixote Family was preparing to attack the Sunny, which was guarded by a group from the alliance.
Despite this, Wicca begged them to take her to the Flower Field, where she could inform her so-called "Commander." This took longer than expected due to Zoro's legendary sense of direction and the pointless quarrels between the former revolutionary and the swordsman.
"For goodness' sake, we should have been there already! And can you two please stop arguing? You sound like an old married couple! Oh, but maybe you are married..." the fairy exclaimed before taking a curious look at the two humans.
The reaction of the two young adults was immediate, and both blushed instantly, although the young woman with e/c eyes had a more intense blush than the swordsman.
"What nonsense are you spouting, dwarf?" Zoro retorted, lowering his head to look at the fairy nestled in his costume.
"That's right! Me, with this... swordsman... Nah."
"Was it supposed to be an insult...?" the confused fairy muttered.
"What do you mean by that, huh? You... you woman!"
"Their insults make no sense!" Wicca thought, completely overwhelmed by the idiocy of these two humans.
As Y/n tried to respond, she stumbled during her run but was quickly caught by Zoro, who pulled her towards him with one of his arms. They remained close for a few seconds, but it was long enough for everyone to understand that they should have moved apart sooner. They quickly pushed each other away, and Zoro, slightly red, raised his voice.
"Don't get close to me, I already have the dwarf for that!"
"You dare complain when you were the one who pulled me towards you?!" Y/n replied.
"Don't you complain either! You were about to fall headfirst, you idiot!"
"As if I needed you to regain my balance, and I wasn't going to fall!"
"Yeah, well, next time, I'll let you fall and laugh at you with your broken nose!" the green-haired man continued.
"Like that's ever going to happen! There's as much chance of that happening as you are finding your way on your own!” the young woman with e/c eyes replied.
Zoro's face turned even redder, but it was Wicca who eventually stopped their "dispute" and sighed.
"Seriously... These two really think they can't stand each other... Attraction really makes people stupid," the dwarf thought, then resumed giving directions to Zoro, who grumbled.
And so, the mission on Dressrosa continued. Everyone had a role to play, and Y/n helped the crew eliminate the Don Quixote Family. After all the chaos, Luffy's victory over Doflamingo marked a new era for Dressrosa. The pirate alliance was then welcomed into Kyros's house, where everyone rested. For once, Zoro and Y/n weren't bickering, too busy trying to find sake for one, and the other was trying to recover their strength.
Indeed, Y/n had returned quite battered, covered in dust and debris on her clothes. She hadn't bothered to clean her face, as she was too tired. Zoro, unable to find sake, complained once again before taking Wado Ichimonji in hand and staring out the door's window, casting a shadow. Everyone's eyes were on the door, which slowly opened. After a few seconds, Y/n stood up and rushed toward the newcomer. She embraced the silhouette, which could finally be identified by the rest of the pirates, especially Robin, who smiled as she pronounced the name of the newcomer.
"Sabo!"
"Sabo? Who's that?" Zoro asked, squinting while watching the young man held in Y/n's arms.
"He’s Luffy's brother." Robin replied.
"Another one...?" thought the swordsman.
"Sabo, are you okay?" asked the young woman with h/c hair, releasing the blond just after.
Sabo smiled at her before looking surprised and then tender. A slightly tired Y/n didn't understand why until he raised his hand to her face and gently placed it on her cheek. The young woman blushed easily while looking at the blond. He then gently rubbed his thumb on her cheek, removing some dust from her face.
"You had some kind of stain on your face," he said with a gentle smile.
"T-Thank you..."
"Tch!"
"Sabo, what are you doing here?" Robin asked after smiling at the swordsman's behavior, who seemed to be irritated.
"Oh, I just wanted to see Luffy before leaving. Some troublesome people will be arriving soon. You should also leave while you can."
"Troublesome people?" repeated Franky.
"The CP0. They're not innocent in Doflamingo's downfall, they played a role in the shadows."
"CP0?" repeated Y/n, starting to doze off and sway towards Sabo.
"Hey, you idiot, don't fall asleep, you'll fall. Come here, just stay there. I mean, stay over there and fall, maybe I'll see your broken nose after all," Zoro announced with a smirk.
"Dream on, I told you... I told you it wouldn't happen," she replied, yawning between each part of her sentences while moving closer to Zoro to point her finger at him reproachfully.
She paid no attention to the arrangement of buckets filled with water on the ground and stepped into one, causing her to lose balance and fall towards Zoro. She managed to catch herself and fell on all fours while framing Zoro's bent legs with her arms.
In the end, Zoro, sitting cross-legged, saw Y/n's face up close as she used her arms to catch herself beside the swordsman's legs. He smiled arrogantly before saying,
"You see, I was almost a witness to your fall," Zoro teased. "It's like you enjoy falling when I'm around," he added more softly so that only Y/n could hear.
She blushed before trying to respond, sitting back in the Seiza position (kneeling, sitting on the legs, like in Japan). Zoro eventually smiled kindly and gave Sabo a smug grin. Sabo wasn't as happy to see Y/n so close to the pirate so quickly, to the point that he didn't realize he was frowning until he saw Zoro's smirk.
Sabo felt a wave of jealousy, but he restrained himself, wanting to avoid letting his flames out and burning down the house and its residents. He finally smiled kindly, approached his former comrade, placed his hand on her shoulder to gain her attention, and asked,
"Y/n, we should go, the others are waiting for us."
"Hmm?" responded Franky and Robin, who were watching the scene unfold with satisfaction.
"Why would Y/n follow you?" Zoro suddenly asked seriously.
"Well, because she's done what she wanted to do. Now it's time for her to return to the Revolutionaries, with me," Sabo replied with a forced smile.
"In what way is she done? She said she wanted to kick Kaido's ass. He's still in Wano, as far as I know."
"Did you tell him everything?" Sabo asked, slightly disappointed that he wasn't the only one who knew Y/n’s goal.
"Well, actually, they all know," said the woman with h/c hair.
"Yeah, and so what? Does it bother you that I know?" Zoro interrupted.
"I don't see why it would 'bother me.Y/n can do whatever she wants. After all these years together, I don't see why I shouldn't trust her. I'm more doubtful about the others," the blond replied.
"It's funny to hear that from the guy who wants to take her against her will. It gives the impression that he's afraid of something or... someone," Zoro retorted.
"That's enough, both of you! I'm tired of hearing you talk as if I'm not here! So now, the three of us are going to get out and have a talk. Robin and Franky don't need to endure your childishness!"
Both young men widened their eyes and turned to Robin and Franky, who were smiling. They both felt somewhat embarrassed that their friends had witnessed their not-so-subtle dispute. Zoro, Sabo, and Y/n left the house and walked away a bit so that prying ears wouldn't hear them. Even though Robin could easily listen in if she wanted...
"Alright. I'm going to be very clear, okay? You two are going to stop bickering by talking about me as if I'm your property!"
"What? No, that's not what I meant, Y/n!" Sabo immediately apologized.
"I didn't say that either. It's not my fault if you don't understand," Zoro replied, avoiding eye contact with Y/n.
"I never told either of you what I was going to do now. So, speculating like this is pointless! Besides, you're on the same side; it's really stupid to argue like this!"
"... It's true... You're right," Sabo acknowledged while sighing.
"Zoro?" the young woman called.
"What?"
"I'm waiting," Y/n added with a somewhat stern look.
"... Aaah, fine, I get it! I may have been a bit... protective..."
"Protective? Are you kidding? You were clearly je—" retorted th blond man.
"Sabo," Y/n cut him off.
"Sorry," he apologized.
"Now that it's settled, I'm going to bed, and I don't want to hear from either of you, understood?"
"Of course, Y/n," Sabo confirmed with a smile.
"Yeah, yeah," Zoro replied evasively.
With that, Y/n dropped her serious expression and gave them a tired smile. She approached the two young men, kissed each of them on the cheek, and then turned around to head back to Kyros's house for some rest. Not only were the battles exhausting her, but their argument had literally drained her. Those two were like children...
On the other hand, Sabo watched Y/n with a surprised expression, blushing. Y/n certainly knew how to push his buttons. He eventually smiled and then looked at Zoro. He was blushing slightly too and stared at Y/n with his sullen expression, which, in his opinion, made him look constipated, but well, he wasn't very objective...
"Don't get carried away, she just kissed you because she did it to me," the blond announced, now looking at the swordsman.
"If it makes you feel better to hear it, go ahead," Zoro replied, starting to head towards Kyros's house.
"What does that mean? And what are you doing?!"
"Use your imagination, you saw that Y/n and I were... close. And now, I'm going to sleep, not that it's any of your concern," Zoro replied.
"That concerns me when YOU sleep in the same room as Y/n!"
" -"I won't jump her, okay!" Zoro replied, slightly exasperated. "... At least, not with others in the room," he added with a predatory grin.
"I don't like that grin! How about we both sleep outside so that no one takes advantage of the situation?" Sabo suggested, slightly panicked.
"You're really getting on my nerves, but yeah, if it'll shut you up and let me sleep, fine. Anyway, I don't need an advantage."
"Ah, you'd need one though," Sabo teased. Zoro turned around and started raising his voice, prompting Sabo to retort. After only a few seconds, they heard a loud crash, and both understood that it was time to be quiet, or Y/n would come back and kick their butts. Even though they weren't afraid of her, it was more the fear of "losing points" for her affection.

what is your take on jaime infant trebuchet threat?
here is my read of it:
I take into heavy consideration how it is contextualized by the preceding chapters and Jaime’s development in general. A very important thing about how Jaime changes is that it is not just about morality, knighthood, honor, etc. He is also noticeably developing in how he approaches things along with his relationship to the self + the fact that he is more conscious: he is confronting things, he is using his brain (everybody please clap)
“His brother never untied a knot when he could slash it in two with his sword.”
Now, because Jaime’s relationship with his idealism, his honor, his self etc. has changed so drastically, this situation becomes a knot. There is no more “most expedient way to achieve my goal enabled through my cynical ‘pragmatism’.” This is a knot that he can’t cut through because that would be going against keeping an oath, an oath that now means something to him again. And Jaime has reflected on his gordian knot approach since his hand loss.
Let’s see what problem the Blackfish poses:
Tumblr media
From Jaime’s perspective, his resolve is an iron fortress. There is an emphasis that idle threats do not work on him.
Tumblr media
What does Jaime primarily learn from this roast session from Brynden? The reputation that he (and his family) had earned for him will not allow for negotiation. Not with someone like Brynden. It does not only speak of how dysfunctional Tywin’s method is in the long term, but also how Jaime has a persona in the collective consciousness. It is something that will not go away, perhaps ever. He has reflected about how he no longer has the means to cut through his problems in a literal sense, and cutting through this knot in a less literal sense would lead to bloodshed and the breaking of vows (I wanna add that it is also not a simple situation where rejecting his role and abandoning this situation all together is a necessarily clean alternative. Jaime is an instrument of a regime, he is not the ultimate power here, he belongs to the crown, and he isn’t irreplaceable, so it is not like he as an independent force can make Lannister presence disappear here, even if he wanted to. Running from this knot would not fix anything, especially from the perspective that Brynden is doing nothing but a stubborn last stance with no end goal other than bringing as many Lannisters down to hell with him. While the ‘peace’ that he will create here is obviously temporary, and an uprising is brewing, his motivations and outlook in his current position are important. The siege remaining unresolved leads to the suffering of all sides involved, the Riverlands, already devastated by war, is starving, on top of this all being a threat to his family. The Blackfish scoured the country clean and expelled all useless mouths, the siege not being solved also leads to people starving. ) We can see how and why he now has to resort to new approaches, something he has learned previously in ASoS:
Tumblr media
Tyrion would find a way. Let us use the cards we have been dealt. Especially the reputation that is used against us.
Also, what do the people around him suggest:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Execute Edmure. Show that our threats are not idle”
Edmure is the key, is what Jaime eventually realizes, but not like that. What does Jaime do? He does not end up killing Edmure to show his threats have legitimacy to Brynden (part of it is the logical conclusion he makes about how that would strengthen his resolve, BUT he also does not go with a baby trebuchet threat to Brynden. I personally do not think Brynden is coldhearted enough to take that threat lightly (we know Jaime and co’s thoughts are a different matter), especially if he does not view it as an idle one. But the risk of the bluff being called is more present with Bryden, and then Jaime loses all credibility and chances to avoid bloodshed. There is a reason George wrote this how it is. I think we are supposed to scrutinize what exactly Jaime is saying, and to deliberately who.) He doesn’t execute Edmure and then go to Brynden with a baby trebuchet tier threat with the pretense that his threats are not empty anymore. No, he ends up using Edmure.
A Lannister pays his debts, he thought, and you’re the only coin that’s left to me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He says this aloud. This is not a thought. This is not something he is reflecting upon based on everything that has been going on in the past chapters. This is a deliberate performance people are watching, specifically Edmure is watching.
Tumblr media
“Must you make me say the words.” “He forced himself to smile” etc. He seems to have conflict with even getting these words out, because the people that are present, who he seemed to have built a relationship with, and presented the side of himself that is not just his ignoble reputation. We know Jaime has a very complicated relationship with his self concept, he is desperate for self affirmation as well as not being perceived as monstrous. Yet there is no alternative path here. There is a reason George sets this up: in order to keep his vow he has to embrace his reputation and make use of it instead of trying to save it. The part of this speech that I am showing here are Tywin’s words coming from his mouth. Genna pointed out something: (I do wanna say that there are nuances here, I also do not think this means Tyrion is some final villain and as horrible and cruel as Tywin) Jaime is not Tywin’s “son” (also foreshadowed when Tywin disowns him in ASoS: “You are not my son.” I always thought this was thematically significant considering the choices he starts making at that point). The emulation he does is supposed to be inauthentic. Again, Brynden does not care for these threats, but “soft-hearted” (not saying I agree with this sentiment, not even Jaime does as per ADwD, but it is the reputation he has in a classist and violently patriarchal society lol) Edmure does. Everything is set up by Jaime in this interaction seems to rely on this. If Edmure does not give in, the knot remains. If the knot remains, Jaime feels he would have to cut through it to keep his other vow (to his king and family), and if that is the case he is ready to die on the battlefield immediately because he does not really want to live with himself and his lack of progress (“Just more shit in the bucket. Jaime resolved to be the first man on the battlements. And with this golden hand of mine, most like the first to fall.”). Furthermore, I do not see the point of Jaime doing child trebucheting on top of breaking his vow and following up on what he told Brynden that he would do, especially if he feels recklessly suicidal enough over just having to break his vow lol. What would be the point? You could argue that Jaime can be self destructive enough to do it just to put it into stone how horrible he is, and then recklessly die, but again I do not think thats even a necessity for that for him atp. Jaime is not someone like Tywin. He is not about crazy acts of ruthlessness to overcompensate for a lack of dominance. His primary insecurity is not people not fearing him or questioning his authority, it is people perceiving him as a monstrous oathbreaker. To me, him comparing himself to Tywin here did not primarily feel like: “I really showed it to Genna, I am actually Tywin”, it was also a somber observation connected to this specific insecurity (ntm how Jaime views Tywin: “My father is dead as well” “May the Father judge him justly.” Now, there's an awful prospect.) Even if he keeps trying to emulate aspects of Tywin, I think he is aware deep down that that it incompatible with what he wants to be (see the anti-parallels in his ADwD chapter). I also put a lot more weight to Genna’s words about this because Jaime also seems very caught up in “these threats and methods are not chivalric”, not “they underestimate my strength.” (Lady Genna suggested that a few of the men might be put to the question. He refused. “I gave Edmure my word that if he yielded, the garrison could leave unharmed.” “That was chivalrous of you,” his aunt said, "but it's strength that's needed here, not chivalry." Ask Edmure how chivalrous I am, thought Jaime. Ask him about the trebuchet) Not to mention we have to think about Jaime’s main motivation in emulating Tywin.
Another big thing that is informative: Jaime’s guilt over Rhaegar’s children and that he did not protect them from his own father. If he is someone that feels guilt over that in his subconscious post-hand loss, would he really be capable of going through with this threat now? Not to mention the situation with Bran atp: link.
and where are we at ADwD?:
For an instant, the deep red clouds that crowned the western hills reminded him of Rhaegar’s children, all wrapped up in crimson cloaks.
“Is that why you killed all the Starks?”
“Not all,” said Jaime. “Lord Eddard’s daughters live. One has just been wed. The other …” Brienne, where are you? Have you found her? “… if the gods are good, she’ll forget she was a Stark. She’ll wed some burly blacksmith or fat-faced innkeep, fill his house with children, and never need to fear that some knight might come along to smash their heads against a wall.” The moment he reiterates Tywin’s dogma, he is flooded with all of this. His last decision in this chapter is going with Brienne, abandoning his position, abandoning his pursuit of the brotherhood (ntm how he didn’t parallel his father or the mountain and left the smallfolk alone despite them potentially holding information about the brotherhood) and disappearing with her because he is told Sansa would die otherwise, despite Tywin’s very dogma of “dead men and dead sons claim no vengeance.” It is not only treason, it is a risk in general. He is crippled and considerably more powerless, Brienne is injured, and yet they disappear together without a trace.
I think a more substantive criticism of Jaime and the handling of the Riverrun situation, other than a bunch of morally darker actions that he actually takes to ensure he is diminishing the threats against his family, is that he would supposedly forsake his vow for Cat in favor of the vow sworn to his king if he is truly completely cornered, which is the statement that he contradicts in ADwD anyways. (If the Blackfish would not listen, he would have no choice but to break the vow he'd made to Catelyn Stark. The vow he'd sworn his king came first.) This is not what your #kingslaying taught us my guy. Ofc, with Jaime and his narration it is always a bit of a gamble: not a moment later he is ready to say fuck it and die in trial by combat to escape the knot (return of the passive suicidal ideation, even saying that if he loses they lift the siege —the siege is out of his control once he dies so I suppose that lets him escape the vow to his king? still lmao—) And again, we see what vow he ends up prioritizing in ADwD. He started out the chapter thinking he is finally gonna return to his place by his king and son, after completing his orders, his primary vow, but…
Tumblr media
It is also his old version seeping through. The one that does not want to face dilemmas. The one that is willing to escape them even if that means death. Again, dying for him is easy, living with difficult choices to make is hard.
“As I was fucking her, Cersei cried, 'I want.' I thought that she meant me, but it was the Stark girl that she wanted, maimed or dead.” The things I do for love. “It was only by chance that Stark's own men found the girl before me. If I had come on her first . . .” The pockmarks on Ser Ilyn's face were black holes in the torchlight, as dark as Jaime's soul.
Here is another thing to note, though. Jaime is also someone who, at some point in his life, was ready to do horrible things to an innocent child, with no “justification” like with Bran. He was so detached from his conscience that we was capable of this. This is at a point where he disconnected completely from his morality, and allowed his disillusionment to enable his behavior. He is aware of this. He starts reflecting on this, especially in relation to his evaluation of his relationship with Cersei. That is why he confesses to Ilyn (who is already a metaphor of the man Jaime became: the Lannister executioner, a sword for death etc etc). This is something that makes his soul dark, as pointed out by his narration. The fact that he acknowledges and reflects on this already speaks of change (not to mention that this confession is contextualized with him switching to real swords, taking Ilyn, a literal executioner, into a forest with no one around, and being like “kill me if you can” right after. I do not think Jaime is very happy or delusional with himself as a person here lmao). We do not learn of this from Cersei or anything. Jaime is the one confronting himself here. Jaime is no longer on autopilot. Jaime is trying to confront things. His moral compass is no longer locked away in his deep subconscious. The question now is whether that moral compass will win over all of his struggles with perception, his internal conflicts of his family facing an existential threat and the deterioration they cause and reinforce, and the ghosts of his past. That is what AFfC is starting to interrogate, along with hammering it home that certain vows will never be able to compromise, with many of Jaime’s delusions being forced to crumble one by one.

Praise - Chapter 3 - Neteyam's POV
Tumblr media
Chapter Three - Neteyam POV
.
.
As Neteyam thought, it was too good to be true. He had almost felt foolish for getting caught up in a wave of compliments from Aonung, he had forgotten what it was like to not constantly hear how great of a job he was doing. It was weird, he had just gotten used to seeking out some sort of praise. Something had switched in Aonung recently, Neteyam wasn’t sure what it had been but the Water Na’vi had been practically avoiding him the last few days. It actually hurt a bit.
Neteyam wondered if had done something wrong to the other, he tried to think of what he had possibly done or said. The thought was constantly eating at him, as they walked right past one another. Neteyam would stop and look back at the taller male, hoping that maybe Aonung would look back at him or just something. He tried not to look so disappointed as he walked away with absolutely zero attention.
“Did I upset him?” Neteyam wondered to himself as a wave of thoughts rolled over him, his shoulders suddenly felt weight on them again. He usually didn’t need constant approval, but he felt like he was practically conditioned at this point.
“Neteyam! We’re going hunting!” Lo’ak called out eagerly, Neteyam immediately straightened up his shoulders, never wanting to give the impression he was bothered by his brother. Especially because Lo’ak would not stop asking questions otherwise.
“I’ll meet you there!” Neteyam replied, he took a huge breath and tried to calm down the nagging feeling that he had made a mistake or somehow angered Aonung. He practically gulped all those feelings down, he would feel it all tonight, alone.
-  - - -  - -
The hunt was almost fun, a lot of the young males had gathered to have sort of a competition on who could have the biggest catch. Neteyam hated to admit how competitive he could be for someone who yearned to be praised, it was a bulk of his personality truthfully.
This time around it wasn’t his competitiveness motivating him to be the best, it was the fact that Aonung was here too. Whether Aonung liked it or not, Neteyam was determined to make him talk to him today. Aonung would congratulate him. He would have the biggest catch, he didn’t care that the odds were against both him and Lo’ak.
Everyone had split ways only to rejoin 30 minutes later to show off how well they had done.
The winner got some sort of prize, Neteyam didn’t care about the prize though.
Everyone returned at roughly the same time, showing off their catch. Neteyam had been so determined but seeing some of the other catches, he realized he had been a mediocre hunter at best in the water.
“You have done well, that fish is very stubborn.” Roxto had complimented him, Neteyam was a bit taken back by the compliment but smiled nonetheless, “Thanks, one day I’ll get better.” Neteyam responded almost instantly.
“Roxto you know that fish is common if anything,” Aonung commented, walking by with a smug look on his face, “I think you’ll need to strengthen the baby tail some more, and then you might have a chance,” Aonung added as he dragged a large fish behind him, probably the largest in the reef.
Neteyam looked in disbelief at Aonung for a moment, Aonung sounded bitter and condescending. Neteyam hadn’t seen this side of Aonung since they first arrived on their Ikrans.
Neteyam immediately wiped the emotion from his face, he didn’t want to give Aonung the pleasure of seeing him hurt by his words. Though, they stung bad when he had thought Aonung surely would have congratulated him in the least.
Rotxo complimented him though, that should have been enough for him to know that he had done a good job. But hearing it from Rotxo really had meant nothing to him.
Neteyam tried to make sense of it, there was only one conclusion he could come to.
He only wanted Aunong to praise him, not in a “friend” way either.
—------------
A few more days had passed since Neteyam’s discovery that he had some sort of feelings for Aonung, he wanted to try and talk to Aonung but every time he had gone out to find the other he was already surrounded by his friends.
Despite Aonung always being the center of his group, Neteyam always felt those light blue eyes locked on him. Neteyam assumed Aonung was looking for another way to jab at him for his flaws.
Though, Aonung hadn’t said much after the last hunt.
Finally, Neteyam had enough of this game of avoiding one-another.
Neteyam practically ambushed Aonung, the Water Na’vi surrounded by his usual lackeys. Neteyam rushed onto the sand, his hair bouncing as he pushed through the group of friends to get to the taller male.
“Let’s go, now!” Neteyam grabbed him by his wrist and yanked him away from the group, most were stunned to see Neteyam act as impulsive as his brother. However, Neteyam had enough of this avoiding game. He at least deserved answers.
“What is your problem, Aonung?” Neteyam practically shouted, it was all his pent up frustration making him a little irrational.
Fortunately, he was smart enough to have dragged Aonung all the way down the beach.
Aonung looked briefly surprised as he was dragged but ended up looking rather amused as Neteyam lost his composure. “I have no problem, have I done something wrong, Forrest Boy?” As usual, Aonung looked completely unbothered while Neteyam was flushed and embarrassed, still holding on to his wrist.
“Why have you been avoiding me!” Neteyam spoke, glaring up at the slightly taller male. “I haven’t been avoiding you, mighty warrior, I was simply giving you your space.”  Aonung spoke as if it had been something so obvious.
“Bullshit! You have been avoiding me,” Neteyam spat, his father’s language slipping out for a brief moment and Aonung looked so smug at that.
“Just say you missed me, I know that’s what happened. Rotxo wasn’t good enough for you. You missed someone praising you for every little thing, right?” Aonung practically cooed, one of his finned hands finding a place on Neteyam’s slim waist.
“Not someone! Not Roxto! You!” Neteyam admitted being frustrated. How come Aonung knew how he felt and still chose to ignore him?  Now he was more upset, his glare more intense; he hardly recognized the hand on his waist as he leaned in closer to Aonung.  Why did he even bring Roxto up anyways?
Aonung looked surprised, and he even flushed in his cheeks as Neteyam confessed how he felt and leaned into him. Aonung wasn’t prepared for that, sure he intended to ignore Neteyam to get the smaller Na’vi riled up. But he hadn’t expected him to feel like this.
“You suck! I hate that you spent weeks talking to me, praising me, making me feel like I am worth something to you and then you just cast me aside for no reason! What did I even do to you?” Neteyam tried to hide the way his voice cracked at the end of his sentence, his emotions getting the best of him.  He opened his mouth to shout again because he wasn’t done with Aonung quite yet.
Neteyam was going to rip into Aonung letting out all of his pent up rage but then Neteyam lost his train of thought as lips were smashed against his bottom lip, noses bumped and Neteyam noticed a little red bruise starting to form where Aonung’s lip had knocked into his teeth.
It wasn’t the most perfect kiss, it was sloppy, Neteyam’s mouth had been wide open and Aonung practically missed. The two quickly pulled away, staring at one another, almost as if they both didn’t believe what had happened.
“I.. I am sorry Neteyam, I thought if I pulled away you’d come immediately. I didn't think you would wait two weeks to come and get me.” Aonung admitted, “I had no idea you would feel so hurt by my actions because we hadn’t established any type of courting. I truly just thought you only enjoyed the attention and nothing else.” Aonung expressed further.
Neteyam was angry at first but the more Aonung spoke the more calm he became, when Aonung’s lips finally shut it was Neteyam’s turn, he pulled Aonung down by his neck for another kiss. One that wasn’t half missed, or bruising because the first one hurt.
This kiss was much better, it left Aonung wide-eyed, his hands sliding around Neteyam’s waist and holding him close. Neteyam’s arms wrapped around Aonung’s neck, locking him into this kiss. Neteyam didn’t know how much he had needed this until it was time to pull away, both flushed.
“You’re a good kisser..” Aonung complimented and Neteyam couldn’t help but laugh, “Better than you, that's for sure…”

Could you write Iida x GN s/o with an alternative style?
[ Sure thing. I hope I did your request justice. Tenya is always loved. ]
Tumblr media
When Tenya was exposed to your alternative and gender-neutral lifestyle, he was naturally curious and did not want to disrespect you. So, he researched the subjects to gain a better understanding of self-expression and personal identity.
At the beginning of your agreed-upon romantic relationship, he attempted to show his support by praising you. "To show one's true self even in the face of discrimination is truly admirable! One who goes against societal expectations must possess quite a courageous heart! I am proud that you have chosen to be who you are without fear!" In retrospect, he may have come off too strong.
Despite his research and his show of support, he came to the realization that he hadn't taken the time to ask you the motives or inspiration behind your alternative style and why you chose to label yourself as gender-neutral. While surprised by his questions, you told him after an initial moment of hesitation, and he listened attentively.
"Of course! I believe that shopping together is imperative to strengthen the bond of relationships and I would be honored to assist in expanding your clothing selection," which from what he understood was rather unique as it broke from societal gender norms associated with which traditional gender a particular piece of clothing was tailored to.
As a hero student and class president, he felt as though it were his duty to protect and correct any injustices taking place at Yuuei High. As such, he often handled any rude looks, stares, or judgmental remarks about your appearance.
"I assure you that despite my traditional upbringing, I am rather open-minded and respect an individual's choices to express themselves as they desire. Self-expression is quite important and a selected quality that is embedded in the right of every individual," he explained, yet again, showing his undying support for you.
Apart from shopping together, Tenya made it imperative to bond over your other interests such as LGBT rallies. You usually helped him choose an outfit that would show his support in addition to handling any face makeup he may have requested.
"Perhaps we can conduct research if there are any safe spaces or communities in which you can express yourself without the fear of discrimination?" Despite his protective and supportive ways, he realized he underestimated the importance of what Yuuei lacked, a designated commitment to its LGBT students.
Tenya supported your efforts in spreading LGBT+ awareness at Yuuei and helped you organize an afterschool support group. Of course, he did most of the work including making the flyers, passing them out, assuring that the group was approved of by Principal Nezu, and that Class A would have your back if anything went wrong.
"I assure you that my change in behavior and language is not due to your own fault but rather to avoid any misunderstandings. I wish to make you comfortable and provide an environment of acceptance and support," he explained. While he wished to be a hero to the world, nothing was more important than being your hero first.

Hi, I have a question regarding Napoleon and Josephine's separation. I know its said that he left her cuz she couldn't give him heir but he could have legitimized one of his illegitimate sons that way he could still be with his beloved Josephine and also have an heir. I know it's not conventional or very acceptable but it did happen previously. I felt like not having an heir wasn't the sole reason but he rather left her to tie himself more closely to the austrian imperial family and strengthen his position in Europe by having a royal wife. What's your opinion about this
Hello,
While I absolutely don’t claim to be an expert on the Napoleon/Josephine relationship, I do tend to believe it was more about Napoleon wanting a legitimate heir than anything. While being able to tie himself to one of the prominent royal dynasties of Europe was probably one of the silver linings Napoleon drew out of his divorce and subsequent remarriage, I don’t believe it was his primary motivation. Fouché and various siblings of Napoleon (especially Caroline) tried to persuade Napoleon to divorce Josephine for years, and he continued to avoid it for as long as he felt he could. This timeline has a lot of good information on the whole process, and also the excerpt from the senatus-consulte establishing the Empire in May of 1804 which lays out that Napoleon’s “imperial dignity is hereditary through the direct, natural, and legitimate line of descent from Napoleon Bonaparte.” While Napoleon also could have adopted his brothers’ sons and they would’ve entered the line of succession as well, I think once Napoleon had confirmed for himself that he was capable of producing children of his own, his mind would’ve been set on having a legitimate son to succeed him. As late as March 1808 he was lamenting to Hortense that he wished her mother would be “in your state” (by which he meant pregnant). I think he held off on pulling the trigger on the divorce until he simply gave up on any possibility that Josephine would be able to conceive an heir.
So, those are my thoughts. Maybe someone here more knowledgeable about this relationship (like @empirearchives) might have a different take though. :)

Hi ! For the character ask game, could you do 1, 7, 10, 15 and 18 for Kise ?
Hi ~~It's so funny that you sent this the exact moment I was writing my fic and Kuroko was just about to answer a phone call from Kise, thinking that he had been too harsh on him about something. (It's funny because Kise hadn't appeared in several chapters.)
Why do you like or dislike this character?
I have a soft spot for Kise, for sure. It's initially because he resembles the type of person I have a soft spot for in real life. Basically it's people who can just show up, act exactly as annoying and self-centred as they please, and yet, a lot of people just can't help but like them (some obviously and some reluctantly). First of all, because they are so pretty and charming, and second of all, because it's like they don't know better, so you feel compelled to forgive them.
On a more specific note, I like Kise because he brings a light-hearted feeling to the story where most characters could not. I like how he can decide to have his act together when it suits him, and then be a big baby with his true friends, there's something disarming about that. Even though I don't particularly love that he seems like the kind of person who can sort of dehumanise others when it suits him, I also understand that it makes sense as a defence mechanism against the overwhelming attention he gets. So, it also makes sense that he would feel more at ease with people who don't fall at his feet just like that. Um, my point was, that I appreciate that he doesn't feel like he owes anything to anyone he doesn't have a truly reciprocal relationship with.
Also, I just can't help but like people who move through the physical and social world with ease.
Okay, basically Kise is a lot of things I wish I could be but never will. :D
7. What is something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?
I'm a sucker for all shenanigans there's not that much room for in canon, so I love that the fandom never gets tired of putting Kise in silly situations and having him act like a goof ball with characters who have that side in them too but wouldn't have it brought out of them so often or in quite the same way without Kise.
10. Could you be best friends with this character?
I wouldn't say best friends, no, for that our comfort zones would be too different. Good friends, yes. There's a lot that I lack that a person like Kise can bring into my life and strengthen in me, and I'm fairly certain the same is true in reverse.
15. What is your favourite ship for this character?
I don't have any canon character I ship with Kise, since I see him as the sort of person who keeps friends and lovers separate to avoid drama. Like, his friends are too important to him to risk conflict because of sex which he can get anywhere, anyway. Possibly he's even aromantic. I don't know, I have a hard time picturing Kise at least traditionally in love. I've written him in my fics for a long time, and so far he has casually dated two OCs which both have some good chemistry with him, and I think in this little head world of mine he seems to be opening up to a closer and more genuine connection in that department, but I don't know if I see him in a long term relationship or not. So, I can't say I have a favourite ship.
18. How about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire?
This is a difficult one, no one pops into my head as special to me. It's more like I admire an aspect of Kise's closer relationships in general, and it's how unconditionally he uplifts and admires the people he really cares about. He's not egotistical or insecure in that sense that he would withhold his admiration when he feels it, which I find very sweet and healthy. Also, he has no ulterior motive, he's just genuinely excited about his friends. Sorry if that's not a good answer, but I don't have a particular relationship that speaks to me more than others.
I hope there was something worth your time. ☆

Quiet Time 2/12
What am I feeling today?
My peacefulness from yesterday has been overshadowed by stress. I have an exam in a couple hours today I don’t feel prepared for. I’m anxious about it and concerned I may not do well. I’m also concerned with the state of my heart in terms of a guy. I don’t want him to become an idol again but I also want to keep myself from becoming bitter again. It’s a fine line that I’m just trying to find the right way.
Philippians 2 AMP
(v. 2-5) “make my joy complete by being of the same mind, having the same love [toward one another], knit together in spirit, intent on one purpose [and living a life that reflects your faith and spreads the gospel—the good news regarding salvation through faith in Christ]. Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit [through factional motives, or strife], but with [an attitude of] humility [being neither arrogant nor self-righteous], regard others as more important than yourselves. Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this same attitude in yourselves which was in Christ Jesus [look to Him as your example in selfless humility],”
‭I want to apply this to how I feel about [***]. Having the same line for one another. The love I have for one disciple should reflect how I feel about all of them, not showing favoritism. I do not get bitter at other disciples when I don’t get to spend time with them because I know there’s no hurtful intent behind it. Granted that’s a bit different than being actively avoided but I also need to keep reminding myself of the reasoning behind it.
I’m not meant to look out for my own self interests and I feel that I had in the past. I think I was selfish in my relationship with him. I was lonely and thought of him as the solution but that was a misguided notion. The key to that is the kingdom and the close friendships I develop. I heard once that those who aren’t used to love (and the release of oxytocin in the brain) are extra sensitive to it and therefore latch on and obsess quickly (which I believe is what happened with [***]). The solution instead is to form close friendships to get the release of oxytocin there and therefore one won’t get too obsessed when they find that in someone else. All in all, I need to seek further my relationships in the kingdom.
(v. 12-13) “So then, my dear ones, just as you have always obeyed [my instructions with enthusiasm], not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, continue to work out your salvation [that is, cultivate it, bring it to full effect, actively pursue spiritual maturity] with awe-inspired fear and trembling [using serious caution and critical self-evaluation to avoid anything that might offend God or discredit the name of Christ]. For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure.”
I was reflecting yesterday and thought that I may not have been actively working out my salvation. I was numb and stagnant for some time and my heart wasn’t in it which concerned me, where that change came from. I need to cultivate it, I need to mature, but in doing so I need to be absolute in having the basics down. Also, sometimes I wonder what it means to truly fear God and if I do, how am I supposed to acknowledge Him in that way?
I need to keep asking for his help. Because it even says so here that it is not by our strength but it is God who is working in us. He is effectively at work in us, both to will and to work (strengthening, energizing, and creating in us the longing and the ability to fulfill our purpose) for His good pleasure. This means a lot to me. I know we have free will and we all make the decision to seek God. But I feel that my will does not always align with His and I want it to. And now I see here that Good helps create that in us, that I’m not required to come up with it all on my own. That’s comforting.

Dragon Ball Z: Abridged Season 2 Review
Originally posted December 10th, 2015
Revision and subversion set this season apart from the original.
Tumblr media
Before we venture into the interim movies produced by Team Four Star before they began season 3, I wanted to take this opportunity to reflect on the season as a whole. I started reviewing this season back in August, and writing these weekly reviews has, in my opinion, done more than anything else to strengthen my opinion of this series (as well as my abilities as a writer and film critic). I’ve also gained a lot of understanding about this series, and how Team Four Star has developed a number of interesting themes.
One of the most interesting themes Team Four Star leaned into with this show is an exploration of fatherhood, specifically through Gohan and Goku’s relationship. Gohan’s love and devotion for his father (as well as his father’s friends) drives him out to the farthest reaches of space with a coward and a civilian, and the show takes its time showing just how much of a toll being the only capable fighter has taken on him.
Where in the first season Gohan’s rage stemmed primarily from his Saiyan blood transforming him into Oozaru, in this season almost every instance of Gohan lashing out in anger stems from his dismay at his father’s absence (the only exception is the righteous indignation that causes him to rescue Dende).
Team Four Star also takes care to show that Goku’s absence isn’t just incidental or excusable because of the needs of the plot. While Goku clearly cares for his son, he also actively avoids spending time with him or maintaining a relationship with him in this season, and it’s very telling when Goku makes his most rational decision yet, he does so by yelling at his son as if he’s a soldier under his command.
Tumblr media
Another important theme of this series has to do with the ways it revises the problematic content of the source material. I mentioned this back in my review of Episode 11, but it’s still worth noting that Team Four Star heavily revises Bulma in order to make her a competent scientist rather than a spoiled and whiny brat.
They also address stereotypes surrounding the LGBT community, going out of their way to include a masculine woman and a straight man who fits every gay stereotype in the book. They did flounder in their handling of representing masculine women (see my Episode 15 review for more), but it’s still important that they acknowledged the lack of these characters in Toriyama’s original work.
Vegeta’s character arc is also interesting for a number of reasons, but the most important one is that he doesn’t really get a redemption arc here. He joins Team Three Star out of the basic need to survive, and at every turn he shows himself to be just as sinister as he always was, through his constant plotting to steal the Dragonballs for immortality.
Yet, despite remaining fairly despicable, Team Four Star asks us to empathize with Vegeta in his utter fear of Freeza. Vegeta is made desperate many times at Freeza’s hands, and near the end, when he brings himself to the brink of death for a potential advantage, we’re made to feel for him as he asks for Dende to heal him. Despite everything he’s done, and despite his selfish motivations for wanting to kill Freeza, the brink of death brings him to a position of (albeit forced) humility, and every single time I’ve seen him beg for Dende’s mercy, I’ve wanted to reach out to Dende myself, and compel him to offer Vegeta the help he needs.
Tumblr media
Freeza in the end is also not given an ounce of redemption, but unlike Vegeta, we are not called upon to approach him with empathy when he is near death. This man is a man so despicable he would use a gift freely given by his enemy against him, and we are never really made to question if Freeza is capable of this kind of malice. We instead know very clearly that he is from the beginning, as he’s shown to be the ultimate spoiled brat.
His motivation for killing off an entire race of Namekians is because he wants the Dragonballs, yes, but it’s also because he has never been refused anything in his life; the first time we meet Freeza, he slaughters a village just because they have the nerve to resist him. He is so used to getting his way in absolutely everything that he keeps count of his enemies vain protestations, and so it’s fitting that the only person who could destroy him in the end is the person stubborn enough not to give him anything he wants.
There is, of course, so much more I could get into (Jeice and Burter’s friendship, the de-glorification of the patriarch in Super Kami Guru, the way they used the Ginyu Force to experiment with alternative storytelling), but I feel like most everything I want to say has been covered in my original reviews.
The first season of Dragonball Z: Abridged, while funny, was very shaky, and it didn’t really find its footing until very near the end, when Team Four Star became comfortable working within the source material. Season 2 then was built on that solid ground and gave way to a good bit of experimentation and revision, most of which proved just how skilled creators the members of Team Four Star really are.
Rating: 4.5/5

The One About Roronoa Zoro
Okay, wow. So this was originally meant to be a post about ZoLaw, but it just kept getting longer and longer... so I decided to split it up into multiple parts. One for Zoro, one for Law, and one that will take about the two of them
(Because the reason it kept getting so long was that I started going on a rants about each character and what defines them, and it was really just getting out of hand) (And damn, this is LONG, I'm sorry, I was avoiding homework (this is your warning))
So let's first start with the Straw Hat's swordsman, someone lovingly referred to by most fans as the crew's First Mate (although it's not canon per say, it may as well be), Zoro!
First, I'd like to look at his background, because that (very obviously) informs the characters in One Piece to a great extent. Now Zoro's isn't the most fleshed out of the group. Honestly speaking, that is the case for most of the East Blue crew. The reason Luffy and Sanji actually have so much to their pasts is because we went back and fleshed them out more (see later introductions of Ace and Sabo, heck even Garp, and the fact that Sanji wasn't anything more than a kid shipwrecked on an island until WCI happened). Before these reveals, questions such as "How the hell did Sanji end up parentless on a transoceanic tourist boat?" or "Why the heck is Luffy just hanging around with pirates and seemingly no guardians??" were unanswered. The same sort of questions exist for Nami "Why did she end up abandoned and in Bellemere's care in the first place?" or Zoro (I will be bringing those up as we progress). Usopp is generally pretty fleshed out, actually, as in I can't personally think of any questions I have in specific about his background, maybe "When did his dad leave??"
On that point, with Usopp, I know generally Sanji is the poster child for character development in the Straw Hats what with his whole Germa background, but Usopp has an absolutely wonderful character arc (at least in my opinion, which, my blog, but also feel free to disagree, I'd love to here other's thoughts) and one that is still going!! Like his goal is one that literally requires his growth as a character. He can't be a great warrior of the sea if he doesn't believe in himself and-- I'm sorry, I'm getting carried away, I just really like Usopp, sorry.
Anyway, the point of all that was meant to be to demonstrate the fact that we don't know everything about these characters, and if we do, it's because it has been brought up again. And that doesn't even mean we know everything about them (Luffy's primary goal, for example). So that, and the fact that these aspects are still being developed in some cases!!
Anyway, back to Zoro!! And his backstory.
Here we reach the first thing that drive me absolutely up the wall: why in the ever-loving heck does he want to be the World's Greatest Swordsman?? He comes to Kuina with that goal, and their promise strengthens it, but, why, oh why, is that a goal of his in the first place??
(And sorry, another side note, but the differences between the representations of Zoro's backstory drive me up the goddamned wall, the vibe is completely different between the manga, anime, and live action. I originally had only read the manga, and was so, so confused why people would think that Kuina's father hated her and maybe killed her. Then I watched the anime and like, I get now it a lot more, but the fact that they are so variant is still insane to me)
Anyway, what do we know? Zoro's mom died from sickness; Zoro's father died at the hands of pirates. Presumably before he left for sea, and probably before joining the dojo and meeting Kuina.
(Even before Kuina, he wanted to become the World's Greatest Swordsman. And why is that? What is it that makes this man tick? It drives me insane! (Just, we can answer so many questions about so many motivations across so many characters, and the fact that I can be so completely lost when it comes to two of the main characters (Zoro and Luffy) drives me up the wall))
Right, so did he get his need to be strong from one of his parents or their deaths? Someone else he knew? Did he hear stories from Kozaburo or something and that inspired him? Or does he feel like he needs to protect himself? Like, he is obsessed with strength, and although his promise to Kuina strengthened (haha) that need, it just can't be the sole factor, because his need for strength is behind his entire character.
Now that's a fairly large claim, but, what drives Zoro as a character? What sticks out most about him?
Generally, it wouldn't seem like it's strength. Like yeah the weights he lifts are ridiculous and a recurring joke (semi-joke?) when it comes to him, but I'd bet it's not the thing that you'd think first about Zoro.
Another idea could be competition? Maybe? His goal is inherently competitive, and he'll stop at nothing to achieve it. And some people are just driven to be the best. That's it, and that's fair. That being said, he also doesn't need to be the strongest, just the strongest swordsman. He's fine with following Luffy, not leading.
Honestly, I'm one person basing all this off of my own thoughts (not the best sort of evidence for an experiment), but if you think of Zoro, I'm willing to bet that there's one specific character trait that comes to mind.
And that is his loyalty.
It is loyalty that drives most of his action (his loyalty to Kuina and their promise in large part driving him forward to complete his goal, and his loyalty to Luffy and the crew determining many of his other actions, ie. Thriller Bark, bowing to Mihawk), but what drives him outside of that? If we stripped away that goal, what would be left of him as a character??
Let's look at some patterns in the major point of his character in order to break this issue of loyalty.
First, let's look at those tied in some aspect to his dream, or more accurately the risk of it. Those are: fighting Mihawk, Thriller Bark, bowing to Mihawk. All of these are instances in which his loyalty to Luffy and dedication to not breaking a promise has caused him to act in ways that go directly against the completion of his dream. So his dream can't be the only driving for being the strongest (if speaking in terms of parameters, we can say that it is dominated by something else). Looking at these, are they tied to strength? Yes, in a sense, these are moments in which Zoro wasn't strong enough. And these are major character moments for him. They had insane impact on him. And they all have to do with him being confronted with the fact, full on and unavoidably, that he isn't strong enough.
We also have instances of him being much more serious than the others, such as: Whiskey Peak, not immediately trusting Robin, the "stop goofing around" on Punk Hazard, how hard he is on himself after every fight. For as goofy as Zoro is, he is exceedingly cautious. If there's a danger, he is wary of it and is prepared/will prepare to ensure he can fight it. He is careful of the strangeness of Whiskey Peak and Robin. And he is aware of the treat of the world, takes it seriously, and acknowledges that he needs to be strong enough to overcome it. If he struggled, he pushes himself even harder, even if he's still recovering.
And finally, another huge part of Zoro's character is his reaction to perceived betrayal (perceived as in what he identifies as a betrayal): Nami, Usopp, Robin, Sanji. The second he feels betrayed, he will but someone out and move on. "Zoro's so loyal!!" Okay, yeah, but what's this?? For most Straw Hats, they are loyal to the end, and it would seem like Zoro is too (Thriller Bark, again), but this is completely antithetical to that. So why?
It's about Zoro and the intersection between his loyalty, his trust, and his strength. Whoever he is loyal to must have absolute trust in him. Literally any time someone on the Straw Hat's leaves. Zoro completely shuts down when they do. He acts as though he doesn't care. Because, to him, they didn't trust him enough to rely on him, and Zoro needs people to rely on him. It's just how he works. He needs to be able to protect people and needs those people to know that he can protect them. And this is all driven by strength. If they don't trust him, if they don't think he can help, that says something about how strong they think he is. It's an insult to his strength that they don't think to ask him for help, implying that he is not enough. (It also protects himself emotionally to move on a fast a possible.) He needs transparency, requires it, because anything else implies he can't be trusted.
The issue of strength runs rampant through this character. He has this unavoidable need to protect himself. And although he will do his best to protect those he cares about, to is not an unending grace. It's as though all he does is work to defend himself from any sort of emotion hurt or rejection. (It's as though he is waiting to be thrown away. Like the parallel I could draw with Usopp... I won't, not now...)
At the same time though, if he doesn't succeed, then he reasons he wasn't strong enough and that's the end of it.
God! Just why??!? What?!! What is going on with him?? I'd really like to know.
(And god, fuck, I want to talk about the death pact now and what that implies, but this is so long already,,, I'm just... I'll dissect that later or something)
Damn, I've talked forever and I feel as though all I've done is determine that this man is a strength obsessed gremlin with issues. I may need to come back to this later, but for now, this is all I'll say...

I finished There's sunshine in your smile and now i want no i NEED that "what if im at the other side of this staff" fight because i just know it would be the most cute and violent fight ever, like they would make their better moves and attacks but they would miss on purpose, i just know that they are gonna be in a similar position that Hunter and Amity at the end of their fight, but instead of the threat Willow it's gonna touch Hunter's nose making a "boop!" sound or something and he is gonna blush and she is gonna laugh making him blush again cause their are dumb and i love them and yes
Sunshine was written post ASIAS and pre HM when I really had no idea where Hunter's character arc was gonna go and how much of a strain his loyalty to Belos was going to put on his friendship with Willow. (At the time Willow was the person he was closest to. His bonds with Luz and Gus strengthened afterwards.) So I was really just taking a shot in the dark. Which works cuz Hunter and Willow had no idea what was going to happen either. Though they were trying to ignore everything because they both desperately wanted to keep this connection between them, deep down, they knew their respective alliances and beliefs would probably come back to bite them in the end. They knew this friendship seemed easy at the time but it had a chance of getting very difficult and they might inevitably have to break it off. And no matter how much they tried not to think about that, they had to acknowledge it at some point.
So I feel like this hypothetical conflict they brought up would be more sad than cute. Devastating really.
Remember at the beginning of LR how ready Willow was to capture a scout and interrogate them? But then later in the episode she had the fucking Golden Guard of all people. Literally nobody more perfect to get information out of. But what did Willow do? She hung back and allowed the others to handle that job instead. She avoided eye contact with him. She pretended she didn't see him. From Willow's limited knowledge of Hunter's loyalty at that time, she knew it wouldnt be the right move to trust him. But she still couldn't bring herself to be the one who confronted him. She would rather sit this one out.
So Willow absolutely would not want to fight Hunter. However if she was left with no other option, if he posed a threat to her family and friends, she would have take matters into her own hands and do something about him.
Hunter worried that though Willow was very strong, he didn't know enough about her to be sure she wouldn't go easy on him. That scared him to think about. He tried to warn her not to because Hunter was certain that if he was left with no other option than to fight her, he wouldn't go easy on her and he really really didn't want to kill her. He needed her to fight and keep herself alive. However, Hunter swearing he won't go easy on someone and then proceeding to go easy on them has happened before. In Hunting Palismen when he sarcastically said "You think I'll just let you walk away with them?" And then he DID. And this was Luz, who Hunter didn't even know that well. If he couldn't bring himself to fight her honestly, he would most definitely have problems fighting Willow.
Two kids who would rather do anything else than fight each other. However two kids with very firm motivations that they refuse to go against. So if they did fight it WOULD be a huge blow out of a battle. But yes they would still be holding themselves back. Lots of subconsciously deliberate misses when they get too close to kill shots.
If Hunter and Willow ever had to fight, the circumstances would be too grim for the silliness and flirting they had in the garden.
HOWEVER based on the way things have canonically gone? If they're having spars in the Human Realm forest then yes it is EXACTLY as fierce and as cute as you described.

Hannibal x trans male reader with ADHD
Warnings: fluff, tickles
So I just had an idea that y/n is a patient who is basically adopted by Hannibal because of a traumatic event that happened in his life that orphaned him (similar to Abigail’s hobbs). So y/n struggles to open up and many of Hannibal more “unorthodox methods haven’t worked as well as he wanted them to. However, he notices that the reader is ticklish and uses it to his advantage, which seems to make the reader feel much better.
A/n: Hi everyone, this is the first fics I’ve ever posted, and I do appreciate any constructive criticism. However, if you could be kind about it, that would be much appreciated; I am a sensitive boi and can take things to heart <3 also I have taken the first “I” out of the t-word :).
Tumblr media
Hannibal looked at you, examining your posture, actions, leg movement and how you, once again, tried to avoid his gaze. Ever since he had taken you into his care, Hannibal had taken it upon himself to be your therapist and guardian.
“So, how have you been feeling in yourself lately Y/n.” He finally began, with genuine concern in his voice.
You thought for a second on how to answer. You knew deep down that your dysphoria had not at all improved and that burn out and a lack of motivation had basically become your best friend, however you didn’t want to seem ungrateful or whiny. Ever since you had become orphaned, Hannibal had been an amazing parent and genuinely cared about how you felt. So you lied
“Fine, yeah..I’m doing better thanks.”
It was not very convincing as Hannibal could see right through you.
“Are you completely sure Y/n? You can tell me anything”
One part of you wanted to blurt out everything. The dysphoria, the ADHD, the insomnia and the night terrors. It was a lot to bear. But you bit your tongue, much to Hannibal’s dismay.
“You know I can see right through you Y/n, I can tell when you are not feeling yourself. So please, just tell me-you know nothing you could say will upset me.”
You felt as if you could cry, but you held it in, trying so hard to stay strong.
“Honestly Hannibal, I am doing ok. Thank you for being so attentive though, I am very grateful”
Those words worried Hannibal. He loved how polite and courteous you were towards him, however he felt as if you weren’t fully opening up to him; he just wanted you to talk to him.
For so long, he has tried many methods to relax you and to make you feel like you could trust him fully. Some of these methods were fairly “unorthodox”, but to him, you were his responsibility and he would go to great lengths to help you.
For example, he has asked you to cook with him to try and strengthen the bond between the two of you. During this, he noticed how you kept coming to him for advice on how to do things perfectly but the apologising profusely (most likely because you felt as if you were getting on his nerves and didn’t want to be a burden). This bothered him also. Hannibal hated how you saw yourself as hindrance, because he loved you and enjoyed your company, helpfulness and all round kindness. But he would rather you show kindness towards yourself.
“Hannibal, please could I grab a glass of water from the kitchen” you said, slightly shaking. You wanted desperately to change the subject, but Hannibal was having none of it.
“Of course,” he replied, “you don’t have to ask.”
You rose slowly from your seat and paced towards the sink. You swung the black cupboard door open and grabbed the first glass you saw. The water felt cold and crisp against your lips, bringing you back to reality. You felt as if your skin didn't fit your bones. the light-headed ache would not cease. but you tried to ignore it. When you finished the glass, you washed, dried it and placed it carefully back in the cupboard. As you turned around to go find a book or something to occupy yourself, you were greeted by Hannibal stood directly in front of you.
“Thank you Y/n,” he began, “I do appreciate your cleanliness, but you should give yourself a break sometimes. You are allowed to leave it on the drainer.” he chuckled, trying to lighten the mood.
You tried to chuckle with him, but it was obviously forced. As you tried to dismiss yourself, Hannibal grabbed your shoulder, causing you to wince,
“I’m so sorry Y/n, did I hurt you?”
“No no, of course not,” you answered, “I’m not sure what that was to be quite honest.”
As you sat in the corner, looking content at whatever you were looking at on your phone, Hannibal thought about the exchange and why you reacted that way. We’re you surprised? Were you scared? He couldn’t figure it out. That was until he looked it up; then it clicked immediately. He stumbled across the definition for tckle: “lightly touch or prod (a person or a part of the body) in a way that causes mild discomfort or itching and often laughter.” He smirked at his discovery, for he had then decided on how he would make you relax.
He roamed the house to find you sat in the living room, curled up on the white cushioned chair, scrolling on your phone.
“Y/n, could you come here please.” He spoke softly as always, to make sure you felt secure.
“Are you ok Hannibal?” you asked, wondering why he looked kind of smug.
“I’ve noticed how tense you’ve been feeling lately,”
“Hannibal, I feel ok-“ but he soon cut you off.
“Please don’t deny it Y/n, you’ve been so incredibly rigid lately, and it is not healthy. Your muscles need to loosen or else they will knot.”
You listened closely, confused as to where this was going.
“I apologise Hannibal, is there anything I can do to stop this?”
“Don’t apologies, I can help.”
You nodded, encouraging him to elaborate further.
“I would like to, if you are fully comfortable with it, to give you a light massage. It will not take long, I just want to loosen the muscles that I believe to be knotted or in discomfort.”
You considered his offer for a few seconds. You knew that he meant well, but there was something in his eye that seemed different. Also, you considered you own sensitive news. You didn’t hate it but you were more concerned about the embarrassment it may cause. You weren’t massively keen on descending into a fit of laughter in front of Hannibal. What would he think of such a pathetic reaction? But you didn’t want to seem rude.
“Y-yeah sure, go ahead.”
“Brilliant. Now if you could just position yourself on the sofa, turned away from me, I can start.”
You sat down reluctantly, trying not to show your nervousness about the situation. You felt Hannibal sit beside you and placing his hands just above your shoulder. He started massaging your neck, which only seemed to make you tighter. You held back laughter, although it was beginning to become difficult.
“Is something the matter Y/n? You seems to be much more tense than before. Perhaps I should work on somewhere else.”
Before you could decline, he moved his hands down to your ribs, causing you to shriek and start to laugh properly.
“Hannibal what are you DOING-AHA”
He laughed at your reactions; your laugh was rare for him to hear, but it was quite adorable.
“I am merely trying to help you relax. And it seems to be working.” He laughed along with you.
“S-surely thihis is a bit fahahar” you tried to respond, but it was hard to do much when you felt as if you were going to melt.
“Right, I think that’s enough. Don’t want you to suffocate.” He said.
“It wasn’t to bad,” you hesitated. We’re you really going to tell him this, “ I didn’t…hate it. Not completely.” Hannibal turned to face you while you tried to avoid eye contact.
“Oh,” he was surprised at your reaction (pleased nonetheless), “so you want me to continue?”
You froze. “N-no no, if you’re done it’s fine, I didn’t mean anything by it I’m really sorry-“ but again, you were cut off.
“Y/n you are such a wonderful individual, and to see you so uptight and apologetic hurts me. It would be my pleasure to continue.”
His words were of great comfort and reassurance,to you, but you remained anxious regardless.
In response to your silence, he edged closer to you and sat you on his lap.
“Y/n, it’s perfectly natural to want affection from your guardian, there’s no need to be embarrassed.”
“I know, and I’m really sorry I can’t help it-,”
“If you apologies one more time, I shall have to do something about that.” He said in mock annoyance. However you didn’t quite understand his tone, so you responded with “oh god no I’m so sorr-wait no I’m so-Ahah Hannibal.” You felt his hand squeeze at your ribs as he pulled you into his lap.
“So,” he said in a sinister tone,”let’s make a deal.” He stayed completely serious while attacking your ribs and lower stomach.
“Every time I think you are apologising to much or rather when you I feel as if you need it, I get to tckle you. Is that a deal?”
You tried to answer, but all that left your mouth was gibberish and giggles.
“I’ll take that as a yes then.”
He started to slow down his tickling and soon you had you head rested on his shoulder.
After about five minutes sat in silence, you finally decided to speak your mind.
“Th-thank you Hannibal. I know it may sound strange, but I really needed that.” You went to go on, yet you hesitated again.
“Go on.” ushered Hannibal.
“Well, I just really haven’t felt well. Ever since you took me in, I feel as if I am not worth your time. I’m not exactly fixable am I? My gender dysphoria’s been a total pain in the ass and my ADHD and insomnia isn’t helping either. I wish I could be better to prove something to myself. God what am I saying, I’m sorry for dumping thi-HIS HEY.”
Hannibal poked you lightly in the side and reminded you of his deal.
“Y/n, you say there is no fixing you, but tell me this: how can you fix something that isn’t broken. You have been hurt in the past and that wasn’t you fault at all. But you are a person. Not a crockery plate. Scars and bruises heal, and they often make you stronger. Do you understand what I’m saying to you?”
You nodded in response, and he smiled warmly.
“Shall I make you something to eat. I think that my tckling has worn you out a bit. I believe there is cake in the fridge still.”
“I’d love that Hannibal, thank you.”
He led you to the kitchen where he fetched two slices of red velvet cake he had made for you (he could see that you felt down so he made it in the hopes you would feel better).
“Hannibal.”
“Yes dear.”
“Thank you”
