made the mistake of clicking on the "for you" tab and saw the worst dragon age text post I have ever seen. It was like "man, I hope Bioware goes back to exploring [idea they thoroughly explored in all 3 games] like they did in Origins. I just know that they're just so obsessed with [idea that has been the main focus of everything from the very first cutscene of Origins]. I'm so sick of it."
This is what 10 years of not actually playing any of the games and playing them in your head is like. 10 years. I think some of you guys need a break. I know it did me some good.

Next Etsy update is going to have as it always does, a lot of random stuff, but it is absolutely dragon focused, and as some dragon designs got updated their info cards need updating as well.  Ember dragons of all the dragons species, love to flaunt their magical power, and what better way than making floating islands?

ok, so in this AU Kirishima is a dragon and dragon's in this world are like supposed to be extinct because the humans drove them away when something called "the tragedy" happened, some of the dragons died but some of them assumed human forms to stay alive and Kirishima's mom she wanted to live so instead of risking it to take care of her children she waited until Tatami became old enough to take care of them and left to live a quiet "normal human" life. the Kiri and Tetsu always had a hard time keeping their dragon parts in and that's the main reason she left them. Didn't wanna risk all of them dying but this is selfish on her part.
Tatami resents her mom for this (mommy issues tm) but Kiri and Tetsu were too young for it to bother them all that much

Dragon Problems in each Dragonwatch book.
Book One: Hey Agad Are We Going To Acknowledge That You Promised Celebrant To Let Him Be Caretaker If He Fought The Demons With You.
Book Two: This Dragonwatch Book Sure Is About Ronodin and Humbuggle Huh. Are We Not Going To Try And Negotiate More With The Dragons.
Book Three: Hey Did You Just Introduce Another Villain. Also I Feel That More People Should Be Working On The Whole 'Fallen Sanctuary Thing'
Book Four: Dragon Slavery Is Bad Guyz But Stop Looking At It Look At Seth Be Sad. The Giants Are Going Get Killed For This So Don't Concern Yourselves With It. The Protagonists Don't Have Time To Deal With The Dragon Slavery.
Book Five: We Have Done Nothing To Confront Why The Dragon's Went To War In The First Place. Yay.

Dear Bioware Please have one of the voices we can give to our character a Scottish one, aka the Starkhaven accent in game. Because I want one. And a Welsh one. And an Irish one. And an African one. And a lot more. Because you have the money to do that. Sincerely Somebody who wants more voice variety in a fantasy world that extends beyond British and American.

Anyway I made fun of the opening editing/length, and of how music is actually used in the show sometimes but I actually love the score so far, and the opening itself is just so DAMN EPIC.

I'm doing research so I can make my dragon species more believable, and HOLY MOLY
I'm learning a LOT about some of the most powerful and fastest animals in the world-
Who knew world building could be so educational LMAO-

A friend and I have started a tradition of “book awards”: at the end of the year, around December, we collaborate on a PowerPoint titled “books awards 20xx”. Each slide is a category, and on each slide we both put our personal winners of that category - these vary from more traditional (book / series / author / character of the year) to the more fun (character crush, interior design aka illustrations and mise en page, and on of my favs, Dragons 🐉). And then sometime early January on our call we just go through the presentation and talk about the books and what we loved and what we’re planning to read and gush some more about lesbians wielding swords (they’re just the best, I have to tell the truth). Anyway, it’s a really fun time, a way to keep record of the books read, and also makes you excited about the reading ahead!

Transcription: (in case you can’t read)
This Shattered World We Knew,
Our home was a cottage on a hill,
The neighbors said when we bought the shack,
It has known a great deal many–
A farmer and his homestead,
A hero with no further purpose,
A banker’s son and his lover–
And now it knows a family,
A family with no anguish
With only a desire for a home,
We lived in that home
For fifteen winters
We had a child, two dogs, and cat,
All ‘us called it home.
It burns now,
Our home, Our cottage,
Like the screaming sun,
Fueled only by hunger,
To grow it’s magnificently
Attuned flames,
Our home,
Our cottage.
Where our son was bore,
Lived a life,
And untimely met his end.
Now I stare into your eyes,
Your picture clutches to a loose frame in my hands,
I’ve failed you as a husband,
I’ve failed our child as a father,
I have failed as a protector,
And now I must live amongst the broken glass,
Amongst this shattered disk we knew.
This poem is related to a current project of mine, which is funny because this thing predates my web-series by like… 4 years?? It’s crazy how far I’ve made it. I hope you enjoy!

I can’t believe I didn’t think of this explanation for the climactic and dietary oddities of Westeros; @sanguinarysanguinity, you’re a visionary.
Also, both the quantity and fervor of responses to my GOT mutterings were surprising, so: sure, I will continue these semi-resentful reports. The tag to follow/block will be ‘a medievalist does GOT.’

too much scifi and fantasy is "this is how we can transcend humanity, here is a glorified being thats Beyond humanity, humanity is Flawed, having a body is a flaw, and we have to Ascend to something higher and Better". i genuinely hate that viewpoint on reality. its so sooo so sad to think that way in my opinion
more scifi and fantasy should be like "look at these beings that are very Alien and Other but we still share a celebration for the core things that make us alive like food and drink and life routines and community and pleasures and sharing and building a world that includes all of us even if life is messy sometimes." my worldbuilding project is about a lot of different things, but i think that is the core theme that encompasses it all. i think is is why i also really enjoy the work of a few other popular worldbuilders on here, who create stuff of this message

fallout tv series has taken me completely by surprise like i had no idea this was happening at all. i mean i'd kill/murder/die for it to be based in new vegas but it looks like it might be okay, it's a good choice to have an independent story rather than adapting one of the games directly
