I feel like we need to stop Twitter callouts and go back to publishing them in the newspaper like gentlemen.

a little obsessed with the story of how giacomo casanova was sharing a gondola with this random guy who suddenly started having a seizure, and casanova had some medical training so he stabilized the guy until the guy’s physician could be called. and then the physician bled the guy and put mercury ointment on him, which caused everything to get worse to the point that a priest was called to administer the guy’s last rites, but then casanova stepped in and washed off the mercury ointment despite the doctor yelling at him not to. and the guy recovered and turned out to be super rich and powerful and in gratitude bankrolled casanova’s debauchery for years until casanova got himself sentenced to five years in jail for blasphemy. also at one point he got shot through the hand in a duel and doctors wanted to amputate it but he said no it’ll be fine and it Was

Shingeki no Racefail
I’d like to remind everyone casting the entirety of Attack on Titan as being white except for Mikasa that “Eren” is Turkish, “Armin” is Persian, “Hanzi” (which is how Hanji was actually supposed to be Romanized but oops) is Roma and “Zoe” is Hebrew, and “Marco” is Spanish or Italian. And casting names of European origin as being strictly white nationalities is ridiculous, considering you have people like me who have English names while being of mixed ethnicity.
That piece of fanart circulating with everyone’s ethnicity listed on it basically claims that the last survivors of humanity are all white people, except for the token Asian, and that’s disgusting. Not to mention the whitewashing in the art itself—Hanji, Eren, Ymir, Bertholdt and Marco are all supposed to be significantly darker than that, thanks.

As one of Zeus bastard children, you are doomed to be targeted by Hera, however you found a way to get on the queens good side before she found out who your father is.

"Don't use Libby because it costs libraries too much, pirate instead" is such a weird, anti-patron, anti-author take that somehow manages to also be anti-library, in my professional librarian-ass opinion.
It's well documented that pirating books negatively affects authors directly* in a way that pirating movies or TV shows doesn't affect actors or writers, so I will likely always be anti-book piracy unless there's absolutely, positively no other option (i.e. the book simply doesn't exist outside of online archives at all, or in a particular language).
Also, yeah, Libby and Hoopla licenses are really expensive, but libraries buy them SO THAT PATRONS CAN USE THEM. If you're gonna be pissed at anybody about this shitty state of affairs, be pissed at publishing companies and continue to use Libby or Hoopla at your library so we can continue to justify having it to our funding bodies.
One of the best ways to support your library having services you like is to USE THOSE SERVICES. Yes, even if they are expensive.
*Yes, this is a blog post, but it's a blog post filled with links to news articles. If you can click one link, you can click another.

34,000 deaths is clearly an appalling undercount when watchdog groups learn about mass graves like this every week.

The Iranian Regime is going to execute rapper Toomaj Salehi for supporting protests of Jina Amini’s murder by the regime in his songs.
Iranian activist Elica Le Bon says, “Iranians in the diaspora picked up on the fact that the regime tends not to execute people who become known to the international community. We have seen many examples of prisoners that were either released on bail or had their sentences commuted through our “say their names to save their lives” campaign on social media, using hashtags to garner attention for their causes, and even before social media existed, through getting the stories of political prisoners to international media outlets. Once reported on, and once the eyes shift to the regime and the reality of its pending brutality, realizing that the action is not worth the repercussions, we have seen them back down and not execute. For that reason, this is part of an urgent campaign for readers to talk about Toomaj as much as you can, using the hashtag #FreeToomaj or #ToomajSalehi. Every comment makes a difference, and if we were wrong, what did we lose by trying?”

The Warden saying that they're gone to find the cure for the Calling is a lie.
We all know that the Warden is hiding behind these words- an excuse to cover their real goal...
...The goal to find griffons.

Never getting over just how loved Ace was before he was born. How Roger asked Garp—not just a Marine but the legendary Hero of The Marines himself—to take care of his son. How Rouge sacrificed her life to keep her baby boy safe and used her last breath to name him. Ace was so loved by his parents before he drew his first breath—and he took his last breath not knowing it.
