Everything you need to know : Failed Coming Out 2019

This is an answer to an anon I've received.

I typed it all and Tumblr said there was an error when I went and tried to published it. So I had to type it all again but lost the anon....

Here's the question: could you tell me more about her wanting to come out in 2019? sorry for asking again I'm new on the fandom!

Hi!

It will be my pleasure! This is such an important part of the Gaylor Lore to know and understand, especially when you are new in the fandom.

This theory has been confirmed, but we'll get to it in a minute.

Also, I'm so sorry because learning about what went down during Lover Era is a transformative experiece in the Gaylor fandom, in a very heartbreaking way.

So back in 2019 Taylor wanted to come out with the Lover Era.

June 30th during the New York City Pride wich was also the Stonewall's 50th anniversary, was supposed to be the day it happened.

This date might be familiar to you, because it's the date we learned at the same time as Taylor about her masters being sold to Scooter Braun.

So let's start at the begining of all of this. I won't go through ALL the details because my post will never end. But I'll cover the most important ones.

Right at the begining of the year, insiders were already talking about the fact that Taylor was planing to come out that year in podcasts and blind items.

Then in March 6th (Karlie and Taylor's anniversary)

Taylor does a post hinting at this new era. The very first lyrics we get (We got hints at ME back in February):

Daylight the song is about Karlie. But this line specifically means coming out.

Stepping into the daylight, and letting everyone see the real you.

(Also worth noting the lesbian filter)

Taylor started being really loud in the posts she made from now on. Flagging rainbow, lesbian and bi colors every chances she got.

And flagging Butterflies. Wich is very important thematically in Lover and coming out.

Side note on the Butterfly meaning:

Remembre how in reputation, snake was a really important theme?

And how in Lover it switched to butterflies?

More specifically it switched to Snakes transforming into butterflies?

There's a species of butterflies, that when they are in the chrysalid phase of their transformation into a butterfly, can look like a snake if they feel unsafe or attacked in order to protect themselves.

Then, after the average 13 days waiting period, they transforms into a beautiful butterfly.

Basically what Taylor was doing, protecting herself during reputation with that "personna" like she described.

And now, she was ready to finally transforms and have a new beginning.

Here's a description of what butterflies means:

The ME! of it all:

Ok back into the Lover Era timeline!

So all those rainbow posts were leading up to the first single: ME!

Even Taylor Nation was pretty loud about this (number of rainbows = number of days leading to ME! release):

3 days before ME! release, Taylor performs at the Time 100 Gala and it's the first and only time she switched so very clearly pronouns in the song, multiple times:

She sings repeatedly : I want HER midnights

And she even seems to be getting more and more confortable as the song goes on and singing it louder and louder.

She also looks at the crowd while singing it.

Then she releases ME!

That was really the first part of her coming out.

And honnestly, she shouldn't have had to do more than this.

ME! was released on April 26th.

April 26th in 2019 was Lesbian Visibility Day.

And she captionned the release with: ME! Out Now!

A song about how she is unique as a Lover...

That is without mentioning the amount of rainbows everywhere in that MV as well as other references.

Worth noting that in 2019 Lil NasX came out in a MV with the rainbow tower and was annoyed that people didn't get it?

Taylor also probably deadass thought that she made it obvious:

May & June 2019 leading up to the big coming out:

Taylor continues to be as loud as she can.

She makes a very generous donation to GLAAD:

She sings ME! every chances she gets, while flagging the Lesbian Flag.

Taylor Nation also keeps on being really loud:

And releases a song and music video about homophobia and includes herself front and centered in the LGBTQ+ community (represented by the Trailer park, note how Ryan Reynolds, the only straight person in the MV is outside of this park, not in it like Taylor).

With a bi flag wig...

So yeah, she was trying really hard to make people see her.

Christian Siriano and the dress...

Back in April, we learned that Christian Siriano (a fashion designer) was working on a project for Taylor:

In June, he started teasing us about a mistery rainbow dress for an unnknown person:

It was heavily rumored that it would be the dress used by Taylor to come out at the end of Pride Month.

He kind of confirmed it with this post:

Then. June 30th.

The New York City Pride.

Taylor planned to come out at the event.

Employees on site, starts to be warned about this (you can find some comments online).

Taylor learns at the same time as us that her masters were sold to Scooter Braun.

She never makes it to Pride.

And Billy Porter ends up wearing the dress:

But. You can see that the dress was not meant to be worn by him. It doesn't fit well and the "nude" parts shows that it was meant to be worn by a white person.

In 2022, Christian confirmed it by dueting a TikTok talking specifically about this.

He deleted it right after but you can still find it on TikTok: (X)

Last minutes changes to Lover:

We now know that Taylor scrapped two songs from Lover: All Of The Girls You Loved Before and Need.

All Of The Girls is really loud and very clearly talks about a girl. Wich Taylor couldn't afford if she didn't want to/couldn't come out.

London Boy was actually written and added really last minute to the album.

Really interesting, because this is her loudest song about her loving boyfriend. Wich is a brilliant thing to do if you want to limit the public speculation after all the flagging that you did...

We know it was last minute, because Taylor sampled it on Cold War from Cautious Clay. (X)

He was called in the middle of the night and had to approve the sample right away.

Interesting fact: Cold War was featured in Book Smart, a movie Taylor promoted that year.

The song plays during a lesbian sex scene...

The intro to London Boy is actually Idris Elba in a interview where he was talking about a charity where he sold a date with him.

You know, people paid to date him...

The shift in the Lover Era:

After this, you can start to see a shift. Where it was colorful sequin and rainbows everywhere with colorful choreography.

She now dresses in black, is incredibly sad and sings mostly accousting song.

Like her BBC 1 performance or Lover In Paris:

Miss Americana:

Miss Americana was supposed to be her coming out documentary.

It has been confirmed by the director of the project that a lot of footage has been scrapped.

Also, the documentary was supposed to be called : Is It Cool That I Said All That?

This is why the documentary sometimes feels like something is missing and some parts are rushed.

They tried to switch her coming out approach by making it her political activism era.

Taylor confirms it in Anti-Hero MV:

She's pierced through the heart by The Archer.

Her queerness starts showing (she's bleeding lavender glitters).

She tries to cover it up by taking the table cloth.

Her wanting to cover it spoils the dinner for everyone and they leave her.

And while she sings : "Did you hear my covert narcissism I disguise as altruism, Like some kind of congressman?"

She covers her queerness with a sticker : Vote For Me, For Everything

Confirming that the political activism during Lover Era and mostly Miss Americana was in fact really to cover the fact that she was already one foot out of the closet when they had to backtrack.

With this. Take a look at the closing scene of Miss Americana. When The Archer is playing in the background.

It's a montage of Taylor talking to someone and Taylor on the release night of Lover.

Look at what Taylor says...

Queerbaiting Backlash:

This might be the worse part in my opinion.

Since she was flagging so hard to come out.

Sadly, most people didn't get that that was exactly what she was trying to do.

And medias massively accused her of queerbaiting.

And using the queer community.

I'm still so mad and heartbroken about this....

Frankly, speculating about her sexuality would have been way less damaging than this...

Songs about this event:

Taylor wrote a lot about this failed coming out.

The Archer, was her song about her anxiety about coming out. And begging her fans to stay.

I'm not gonna do a full lyrics analysis because this post is already a novel.

But read those lyrics with that in mind and you'll see how loud it is, and heartbreaking.

"I've got a hundred thrown out speeches I almost said to you"

Also. Worth noting that after Lover was released and she was not able to come out, she switched one lyric in that song.

Instead of "Combat, I'm ready for combat" singular (coming out was the combat she was ready to face)

She now sings every time "Combats, I'm ready for Combats", because coming out has turned into multiple battles that she has to face now...

Hoax:

Noticed how she says that all of her heroes die all alone in The Archer?

Her fear that if she comes out, all her fans would leave.

In Hoax she says: "You know the hero died so what's the point of keeping score movie for?"

Because with her Master Heist and everything, she was not able to be one of those heroes herself... The hero that she wanted to be died in that moment because she was unable to come out.

Edit: I messed up the lyrics. But it's even more telling. Because the movie she's talking about is Miss Americana, once she was unable to come out.

Evermore:

This song is litteraly her looking back at what happened and how she managed to process everything and ultimatly heal even though it felt at the start like she would never be able to.

"I've been down since July" - June 30th = failed coming out

"Motion capture, put me in a bad light" - Queerbaiting allegations. And Miss Americana being rebranded.

"Writting letters, adressed to the fire" - Her hundred thrown out speeches that she almost said.

"I rewind the tape, but all it does is pause, on the very moment all was lost" - June 30th...

"Sending signals, to be double crossed" - Her flagging strongly on her way to come out, only to be accused of queerbaiting.

Right Where You Left Me:

The restaurant is a metaphor for the closet.

"Sitting in a corner I haunt, cross legged in the dim light"

Doesn't really feel like a restaurant, but her hiding in the closet.

"I swear, you could hear a hairpin drop. Right when I felt the moment stopped"

Droping hairpins is giving hints that you are gay.

She was doing this very loudly right before she was kept from coming out.

"Dust collected on my pinned up hair"

Her hair are still pinned up because she was not able to come out. And dust collected over time that she spent forced in the closet.

Anti-Hero:

AH is really The Archer 2.0, and talks about the same fear of coming out and being abandonned.

The fact that she decided to depict herself as the Anti-Hero is both really interesting and heartbreaking.

Because to her, the hero was the version of herself that was able to come out...

Listen to Change in the perspective of being able to come out and change the face of the industry:

"Tonight we'll stand, get off our knees

Fight for what we've worked for all these years

And the battle was long, it's the fight of our lives

But we'll stand up champions tonight"

They were the Champions.

Side note: she sang this song at the ACMA in 2010, two weeks before Chely Wright's coming out.

When we know that she has knowed and worked with Chely since about 2007.

Then Taylor wrote Long Live one month after Chely Wright's coming out.

Listen to the song with the same perspective as Change now.

"You held your head like a hero, on a history book page"

Chely Wright came out in May 2010. Taylor wrote Long Live in June 2010.

Look at the parallels of both songs.

And now, look at her choice to name that song Anti-Hero after everything that hapenned....

She also wrote Long Story Short and The Great War about that event, but this is for another post and it's about how this event affected her relationship with Karlie.

How she thought she was betrayed but ultimately found out it was not the case.

And how they both made it through.

Ok, I'm exhausted lol.

But this is such an important part of Taylor's history and I really wanted to do it justice (hope I was able to).

Nightmare Nightmore Highlights.

I'm not gonna recap or analyze the episode too much I just wanna share a few of my favorite things! Not really any spoilers, if you've already seen the leaks of Abbey and her mom floating around then you're all caught up.

WHERE IS NIGHTMARE!? why is this messenger dragon hanging out in Bloodgood's office but her horse isn't!? The episode even has nightmare in the title but I see no Nightmare the horse. I don't like it. A headless horse person without their horse is just a zombie... why are you booing me? I'm right!

Draculaura already has her license in this gen? I'm here for it! Also Clawd chose to sit next to her. Also Clawd said "nailed it like a coffin" which was only ever said in G1 by Clawdeen and that makes me happy.

This is the second or third episode where Lagoona inexplicably has flat teeth, the music video for her doll did this too. I'm not exactly a professional animator but I've studied it enough to know that rendering characters off model is a fire-able offense. Fix it Nickelodeon.

Heath encouraging Abbey to use her ice powers telling her she is strong, charismatic and beautiful. ahhhh! my heart!... I've mentioned on here I'm not much of a shipper per-se. But that was a lie, Habbey was one of my OG ships and it brings me such joy to see them again! I needed this since the only Heath we got during G2 was this:

I wonder where they got the idea to give their yeti Horns... HMMMMMMM

This isn't even a highlight I'm just taking pictures of Mama Bominabe at this point, I love a strong woman willing to murder the school principle for her daughters safety.

The boy is in love! .... And he actually says something really profound. I'm so impressed G3 is giving Heath some depth and not just making him a one note idiot... Don't get me wrong, I liked one note idiot Heath but there was more to him than that.

I love everything about this episode! I love that Abbey is Nepali! it's way more accurate to her Monster type and before some nerd tries to get in the replies and go "Actually Russia occupied Nepal at one point" that's true, they did BUT! the myth of the Yeti originated in 1937, Russia didn't occupy the Himalayas until the 1960's.

This episode is my new favorite! I heard a rumor that we won't get any new Monster High episodes until after the new year, but if they are anything like this? they will be worth the wait!

IT'S PRIDE MONTH, THOTS!! 🏳️‍🌈

So, to celebrate this month of love I want to give you some hcs with the RR-verse characters and how they celebrate:

First, let's start with everyone's fav gay couple, Solangelo! They definitely give eachother stupid gifts that the other loves. Like Will gave Nico one of those t-shirts with the gay skeleton (I want one so bad 😭) and Nico gave him those huge ass pride flags for the Apollo cabin (p.s the flag has a huge skelton head in the back that says "Solangelo 4ever", it was definitely not Nico's idea *wink, wink*)

Percabeth goes all out for pride month. Their dorm rooms and Sally's apartment are decorated with lil bi flags and they made rainbow cupcakes that have a diffrent flag on the inside for each of their friends. Also they go to an unholy amount of pride parades. And I think they got possessed one night and tried to dye their hair rainbow and let's just say it turned out like a unicorn puked on them and not in a good way.

I have some ideas of how do CHB and CJ celebrate this pride month and I wanted to put them here, so here we go: CHB is all rainbows during june, like i'm talking rainbow flags everywhere and the Demeter cabin partnered with the nymphs to make little rainbow and pride flags flower arrangements! The Aphrodite cabin makes pins with everyone's sexualty and gender identity (and they include the ally flag) and i feel like they will give whoever wants a make-up look based on their sexualty or gender identity. And if somebody is being homophobic ("WhY dOn'T wE hAve StRaiGht PriDe?") they're life will become a nightmare.

Camp Jupiter is a lil more traditional with festivities, like parades, flags everywhere and whoever likes wears a pin or a lil accessory with their flag(s). The parades are like traditional roman parties and if you've read about the roman parties of the past then you'll get an ideea of what happens. Let's just say everyone is passed out drunk by 9.

PIPER AND SHELL!!! I've been dying for an excuse to make a hc with them and I finally have it * excited noises * . They definitely go to at least a parade a day and they have lots of fun picking out outfits and make-up looks. And, since they're both native american, I think that they both buy eachother traditional clothing and jewlery that has the lesbian flag colors or the rainbow colors. Just like Percabeth, they too, dye their hair rainbow, only they actually know what they're doing.

buckle up, friends, because I somehow posted 98 gif sets this year and it's probably going to be 100 sets by the end of the year tbh. that number sounds so ridiculous. it's all your faults because part of the reason why I made so much was because I felt so encouraged and loved by the people I've gotten to know and know better this year, so thank you.

I started trying to put all the sets in a post and that just got overwhelming for me to look at so we're doing my top favorites with some fun statistics at the end. I think it'll come as no surprise that I mostly made rwrb and heartstopper sets this year, so I decided to do my top 5 rwrb sets, top 5 heartstopper sets, and top 10 miscellaneous sets.

top 5 rwrb sets

page to screen ripped pages: this is the first set I made after the movie was released. I worked on it for hours and really enjoy how it turned out. the text placement was what took the longest. I knew what words from each passage I wanted to highlight so it took some rearranging to make sure those were visible.

acd x all american bitch: the idea for this came about when casey posted an instagram story of GUTS and songs that correspond with their characters. I love me some bi coloring, so using that for this set was really fun!

firstprince x wildest dreams: I don't know what it is about this set that makes me love it so much. I think it's the shade of pink and then the light orange from the text.

henry "that is him, part and parcel": I adore henry and bea and that's all I have to say about this set.

firstprince x exile: I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the tags for this one and I am not sorry at all for the pain I have caused. I got the idea for this set after sending @kiwiana-writes the fake fic title "I gave so many signs" and they wrote a heartwrenching summary. I immediately wanted to do something with it!

top 5 heartstopper sets

moments of healing: day two of heartstoppercentral's pride celebration for this year. putting this together made me really emotional. I'm so grateful for alice and these moments of communication we get on the show.

imogen x ballad of a homeschooled girl: yes, I did intentionally use colors on the lesbian flag for this set. it was actually going to be purple at first to match the GUTS album but I didn't like how it looked. I tried pink, liked it, wondered what color worked with pink, and thus the color palette was born!

narlie x brighter than sunshine: day 3 of heartstoppercentral's pride celebration. as schitt's creek fans know (and as a couple people pointed out in the tags), this is the song that plays at the end of "Meet the Parents." I think I knew right away I was going to use this song for this day of the event.

narlie x fearless (taylor's version): I still can't believe I made this set. it's something just last year I would have deemed too complicated. I'm proud of myself for this one.

charlie standing up to ben: this set idea was suggested by @swiftlythebest. idk if this was intentional on alice's part, but I really enjoy how charlie says similar sentiments in both episodes. like "leave me alone" -> "I don't want to see you ever again."

top 10 miscellaneous sets

alexis rose + "destined to be on fire": I can't believe how much I've grown as a gif maker over the past three years and this set shows that growth. I also adore alexis and her journey.

david/patrick open mic: I made this set once I got back home from seeing noah in concert. I was truly close to tears during the concert when I realized I was watching him perform a song from a show I have loved for three years.

david/patrick relationship dynamic: @reasonandfaithinharmony @roseapothecary and @rmd-writes are to thank for this set coming into existence. the fact that I had so many scenes to choose from shows that this truly is david and patrick's dynamic.

schitt's creek + barbie posters: I knew right away what kind of barbie david and alexis were going to be.

GUTS + favorite lyrics: god I really love this set. the typography? the coloring? I really outdid myself.

the good witch + ages: another set I just absolutely adore. I love the shades of pink I used. also, maisie, thank you for including consecutive years in the album because it really would have bugged me if they weren't lol

danandphilgames + fuck land: my url becomes relevant again! if you told me at the start of this year that the gaming channel would be back, I would not have believed you.

calliette x love affair: I really love the overlays for this one. it just ended up working well on its own with little manipulation from me. the song is from the end of the last episode. it worked great for the antagonists event!

ellie x you're on your own, kid: I had this idea for a few weeks before I actually got around to making it. I remember being worried and surprised that no one else that I saw did a set with this song.

vampire by olivia rodrigo: the lyric "bloodsucker, fame fucker" really did something to me.

This little huntlow drabble has been sitting in my drafts for ages. It's short, but I figured today was a good day to release it into the world

Almost every day of their first month in the Human Realm, at least one member of the Noceda household wakes to a gift at their door. 

For Vee, her alarm clock, duct taped haphazardly back together and only showing three out of four digits. For Willow, a fresh bouquet of wildflowers, carefully arranged by color in a glass. For Gus, a stuffed giraffe held together by lopsided stitches. For Luz, a scarf in the colors of the bi flag, knitted in heartbreakingly soft yarn. For Amity, a figurine of Hecate, carefully painted over blank clay. For Camila, a tray of breakfast, every single day she sleeps in late.

They start out feeling flattered, accepting the gifts with warm flutters in their cores and thanking Hunter with tight hugs and beaming smiles. But when the gifts continue, week after week, the smiles fade to concerned glances. The gifts continue, bigger, better, more elaborate— but the shadows in the eyes of their recipients only darken, until Willow pulls Hunter aside.

“You know,” she says carefully, “you don’t have to… bribe us into being your friends. Right?”

Hunter’s eyes widen. “I wasn’t trying to bribe you! I just— I thought— isn’t this being a good friend? Making people happy?”

His voice cracks with desperation on the last word. Willow puts a hand over her mouth. Takes a deep breath. Tries to think of a way to explain without him hearing an accusation.

“Hunter,” she says, “do I make you happy!”

“Of course!” he cries, so quickly she knows he’s already blaming himself for her asking the question.

“Why?”

“You make me laugh,” he says, so immediately that she feels a warmth rush through her core. “You encourage me. You’re so strong and confident, just being around you makes me feel better about myself.”

The warmth has grown, filling Willow with sunlight, and even though it isn’t the time or place for it, she fights the urge to beam. 

“So I make you happy just by… existing.”

“Yes.”

“Hunter,” she says, and takes his hands, “you do the same thing for all of us.”

She feels his hands go limp, his expression already darkening with denial, and squeezes them with a desperation of her own.

“You do. You make me laugh, too. When you get excited, you talk so fast, like your speech can’t keep up with your brain, and it makes me excited before I even know what you’re talking about. You love the simplest things like pancakes and dogs and weird human shoes. You love, even after everything Belos did to you, and you’re so brave that just being around you makes me feel like I can handle anything that comes my way.”

Hunter is breathing rapidly now, his face red with the effort of keeping the tears at bay, and Willow lets go of hid hands to wrap her arms around him.

“You are good,” she tells him, “just as you are. I wouldn’t like you nearly as much as I do if you were perfect.”

Hunter hears her, she knows he does, because he finally gives in and sobs.

SORRY FOR A LATE REPLY AURORA I GOT HOME A FEW HOURS AGO AND NEEDED TO REST and the power went out while i was typing this. why is this world so rollophobic

warning for lots of rambling under the cut!

first of all, his design.

"haha funny boy with a bowl cut and a huge hat" virgin vs "literally the most fun design to draw" chad. yes i'm the second one.

of course his design is heavily inspired by his counterpart but i just love it a lot! i really like the colors (some of them lowkey remind me of a bi flag JDKDLSLSL) of his outfit and i like how the color of his hair and his eye color look with them!

i actually disagree with people who say that he'd look better with longer hair or a more detailed/"unique" hairstyle bc i think in that case his design would feel very overwhelming? meanwhile here it looks much more balanced! when i draw him, it feels really nice bc i don't have to do much when it comes to his hair, i can just focus on the outfit! (though i had to get used to drawing his hairstyle, bc my art style is just. floofy hair.. soft hair..)

speaking of his hair..

I'M STILL NOT OVER HIM HAVING MORE MESSY-LOOKING HAIR AND EVEN HAVING AN AHOGE. I'M STILL INSANE ABOUT IT THIS IS SO CUTE. i've talked about it with my other friends and i hc that his hair is like that simply bc he wears a hat most of the time and.. yeah, your hair can become like that after you wear a hat. and like, maybe his hair has no choice but to look like that no matter how much he tries to take care of it and make it look better, so he also tries to hide it with his hat HDJKDKSLD.

also, i find it so funny how on some images it looks like he has really bad dark circles, meanwhile on other images you can clearly see that he wears makeup, so here's my rollo headcanon number 420 (i have so many of them. so many. literally about any topic. i am going insane): rollo tries to hide his dark circles with makeup, but fails miserably and he's really bad at it and nobody has a heart to tell him that he's actually not really doing a good job.

now, his personality.

HE'S SO. SIFGHDHJFBDFBHDJNDVFDNM!!!!!! i love how rollo isn't just a "cold and emotionless anime guy". HE HAS EMOTIONS!! HE HAS SO MANY OF THEM!!! LITERALLY THE WHOLE MASQUERADE EVENT CAN BE A METAPHOR FOR EXPRESSING ALL THE FEELINGS YOU HAD REPRESSED FOR SO MANY YEARS AND ENDING UP DOING SO IN A WAY THAT'S HARMFUL FOR OTHERS (and probably you).

okay, i've said it before in my other post (the ask game one) but the fact that he's literally one of the few characters (if not the only one) who actually says that yuu must feel weird being the only magicless student and that it can be very scary and tiring. man. and like, when everyone has to split up into groups, rollo is the only one who asks what yuu will be doing. i could try my best to not go "this man is in love with them" at least for a second, but no, this man is in love with them. "oh it's only because they're magicless" shut up. so what if it IS because they're magicless. what if yuu is so pure to him, nobody can touch them. what if he wants to protect them from magic users. rolloyuu can either be the cutest and softest ship ever or they can be the most toxic ship BUT IN A GOOD WAY. IN A WAY THAT MAKES YOU GO "waittttt 👀👀👀 that's kinda. that's kinda. hold on a minute" LIKE YOU KNOW WHAT I'M SAYINGGGGGG. all variations of rolloyuu are good. all of them. his ghost room voicelines are also so. it's like, even if he's studying at nrc currently, you can clearly see that he still has favoritism for yuu. it really feels like he sees them as the only "good" student here. it feels like he's a little bit more.. um.. maybe he's more of a tsundere now, since now he knows that yuu likes magic? such as him being surprised when yuu shows him that they want to be friends with him and thinking that it's all just some kind of evil scheme and then being shocked that they're just genuinely nice and saying that it just makes everything even worse. OTOME GAME LOVE INTEREST BEHAVIOR. and him also kinda scolding them for "asking for a present" from him but then saying that birthdays really are important and that he hopes he won't disappoint them with his present. man. m a n. AND HIS OTHER VOICELINES STILL MENTION HIM FEELING SORRY FOR MC AND SAYING THAT THEY CAN ALWAYS RELY ON HIM AND ANYWAY ROLLOYUU ARE MARRIED-

but i should go back to the topic of his personality! you know what makes me insane. it's that rollo, no matter how hard he tries to look like this serious and organized person who has everything under control is canonically a dork in the most affectionate way. HIS FLYING LESSONS VOICELINES ARE SO FUNNY. the fact that he goes "WHY WON'T THIS THING LISTEN TO MEEEEE" when it's not working out, but when everything is fine, he immediately goes "oh, it's quite simple actually"?? i'm going to kiss you on the mouth, you idiot SJKDKDLSLS. he's also canonically a horse girl, which makes sense bc of his counterpart, but also HORSE GIRL ROLLO REAL. i need his lab coat sr. or at least let him take alchemy classes with his current card i want to know what he'll say.

his battle voicelines are so cool, i'm literally obsessed with them. HE LITERALLY SAYS THAT HE HAS UNFINISHED BUSINESS TO TAKE CARE OF AFTER BEATING UP SOME GUYS. HOW COOL IS THAT. some of his voicelines totally didn't make me giggle and kick my feet. totally. don't look at me. me reading "good, how obedient" and "it seems you still desire punishment" and choking on my tea

also i love how his vignette exceeded my expectations and didn't just make me go "i love him <3", it made me go "i need to take care of him, i need to give him a blanket, i need to force him to go to sleep when he needs it, i need to kiss his stupid face, i need to tell him that he's enough-". like what do you mean he eats the exact same things (and not just food, but also the exact amount of it) for lunch and i'm pretty sure he does the same with breakfast and dinner. what do you mean he wakes up BEFORE SUNLIGHT to clean the bell and the gargoyles. what do you mean he likes the bell of salvation (yes, i'm sticking to fan translations) because "it rings when it's supposed to", meaning that he likes predictable things and things that he "already knows" (i think you can say that it's also implied in one of his voicelines where he can't understand why mc is "acting so familiar with him". they're being unpredictable. it's too hard for him to understand them.) what do you mean even when he knows that it will be easier/more convenient for him to do something different, he still does it the same way that he always does. i need him to go to therapy, this man has at least one mental illness and i'm like 100% sure that he's neurodivergent. (i've said it so many times on discord but he's ocd-coded. i say that as someone who has ocd. that's it. i do so many of the things that he does, it actually was a little uncomfortable (but also validating) to read his vignette, i was like "?? DUDE?? PLEASE?? PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW UNHEALTHY IT IS?? wait i don't have a right to say that". the bit where he says that he eats the exact same foods to "avoid unnecessary desires" especially reminded me of my own behavior, because my brain often makes me stop taking care of my needs because "otherwise the Bad Stuff will happen". but i won't go into detail)

also i like how he's loved by literally all nbc students?? say whatever you want, call him manipulative and all that, but it takes hard work to make people like you and admire you and rollo is definitely hardworking.

now, his role in the story. sure, him and idia have very similar backstories, but rollo's past resonates with me much more, because i really wish we had more characters that express their grief and other negative emotions as anger. of course, some people cry, some people isolate themselves, some people become afraid of everything, but in those cases those characters are usually portrayed as sympathetic, meanwhile those who want to punch people, want to fight back, want to scream and yell at everyone, often get portrayed as unsympathetic, scary or even abusive and toxic or just evil. which is.. not good. not good at all. anger is a valid and understandable emotion and it's actually good to be angry about things. i actually was shocked when my therapist told me that i SHOULD "bite and scratch people more" (as i've said it myself) right after i was describing to her how easy it is for me to get angry we also found out that it's actually one of my alters' doing and i was like "i sound like some kind of monster don't i". so it's really nice and actually kinda healing to see him just steal everyone's magic, set the town on fire (with flowers, but whatever) and still hate magic and not really getting a redemption arc. it's okay, he'll get there someday. him immediately starting to sob the moment he remembered what happened to his brother also broke me.

however, there is one tinyyyy problem with his backstory, though that's just me, probably. you see, idia blaming himself for what happened to ortho was more.. i wouldn't say understandable, but it makes sense story-wise. he really was involved in it, even if it really wasn't his fault and he was only a child, i can still see why he'd blame himself. but in rollo's case, him secretly blaming himself.. doesn't really make sense to me? i mean, his brother just wanted to show him his magic, sure, rollo could blame himself for just standing and not being able to help him, but.. i don't know, it just feels a little bit weaker to me. so when the story goes "hey, look at him, he's blaming the magic users for not saving his brother, when he actually thinks it's his fault"! i'm like ". okay. what do you want me to do. do you want me to give him a hug and tell him that it really wasn't his fault." like, according to him, other mages really couldn't help and they ignored him, so what do you want me to do?? do you want me to point at him and go "HAHA SO IT REALLY IS YOUR FAULT"?? i'm not gonna do that!!

also, the thing is that rollo isn't selfish at all. i don't think he thinks that highly of himself. i actually bet that his self-esteem is horrible. when idia tells rollo that rollo wasn't trying to save other people, but he actually wanted to save himself, rollo is genuinely confused and can't believe it and idia himself says that it looks like rollo really did think that he was doing it for others. and even if he secretly wanted to do it for himself, i don't think him saying that he wants to save others and end their suffering is selfish. and he also says that he'd love to lose his magic too and he doesn't like using his magic.

his parents also being worried about him and making sure he's fine in the vignette also breaks my heart.

soooo yeah! that's all i can think of right now, but of course, there's most likely much more, my brain is just a little tired, haha.

maybe none of this makes sense and i'm just biased and i'm projecting, but who cares. at least i'm having fun.

1. Treasure, I wanted their eyes to be kinda amber but also show off the reflection of gold to hint at their name sake. I also wanted the eyes to get less and less human as we go down to the line.

2. Sorah, because she’s a hunter I put some greens into her eye shade even though the base color itself leans more towards the reddish side to hint at her rival >:) (I kinda wish now I would have put some purple to hint at her partner but 🤷)

3. Ruby, the description was one I kinda stole from the QNA video but I kinda absolutely vibed with it. I also put some yellow into the pupil for ya know her being focused on Treasure most of the time and such.

4. Hyacinth, I’m not even gonna lie this one is my absolute favorite because of how perfect it looks like an unachievable amount of perfect beauty that a seelie fae should have. I also tried to make her eyes seem a bit hypnotic bc fae and charm and such. I think hyacinth is that kind of bewildering pretty that you are just incapable of looking away from. Hyacinths are purple hence most of the color palette :)

-when he was younger he came out to his mom who made his life hell after he told her

-he finally ran away when he was 16 (I hc him to be almost 18 in the movie) but has had trouble finding a place to stay ever since

-sometimes he crashes at HQ although Miguel doesn't know that. if he didn't he would just be on the streets since he doesn't really have any friends other than the spider kids.

-hes also autistic and goes non-verbal sometimes- another reason why he had a hard time (I haven't read his comics so I know jackshit about his past so I'm just headcanoning that his mom was a single mom okay), she didn't have a lot of time so he was kind of just left to do whatever he wanted for a while and it didn't really become obvious until he got older

-he does know BSL for when he goes non-verbal but it's not the most useful since most of his friends are American, so he just tries to hide when it happens and text them instead. he hasn't told them that he goes non-verbal yet

idk where else to put this cause i hate talking about it to friends because i have run this situation into the ground., but its also been very hard to process and accept in myself and i just need it out somewhere.

anyway i dated a guy long distance September to mid November and the first red flag was he got really upset when id just have bi colors or flags or make jokes about being bi occasionally but i sort of dropped it cause he seemed understanding once i explained my point if view and granted this was early early in the relationship.

Anyway then it became him getting worried about me being friends with guys and him “asking” me not to hang out with them and getting mad if i tried to reassure him so it got to the point i flat out had to be distant from any guy friends even gay guy friends cause “they could secretly be into women.”

then it became asking if my female friends were bi or gay and getting mad if they were and interrogating me anytime i did so much as play a valorant match with one. Then it became “well all girls kind of swing that way” and since im bi im not really allowed to hang out with anyone cause i “might cheat.”

Then he’d get angry if i was hanging out with friends irl after work and my phone died cause i had been working all day and him accusing me of cheating anytime id hang out with friends despite never having had sex never, having had kissed anyone since the second grade.

Slowly but surely he’d reassure me that i could have friends but it was much easier to just distance myself from everyone but him so i didnt risk the anger and the yelling and the accusations of things i never even thought of doing. There was also the threats of him raping me over and over and tying me up so that he didnt have to worry thinly veiled as just kinky but being brought up anytime he was angry with me for having friends. It was easier to stay hoke then argue about the fact that life360 or snapmaps had me at a weird place cause my phone service was bad and didn’t update right.

and idk it feels weird i think cause it was long distance to consider it abuse even emotional but then the people around me are so adamant it was and so worried that 1. he knows where i live and 2. if i would have were to ever see him in person he would probably harm me.

And idk why that if a friend told me the same thing i would also be adamant it was emotional abuse but when i think of it myself it feels like it wasnt or at the most i deserved it.

And it makes me nauseous to think that this all falls in like and is exactly where the statistics about bi peoples’ abuse comes from. We are considered untrustworthy because of our bisexuality and sometimes it just snowballs and how so many of my bi siblings have gone through and are going through much worse. And its hard to accept that it counts because of the distance

And ig its weird to be sick that i am now part of those statistics if i really sit to think about it and how at the same time people debate biphobia and violence about bi people on twitter.

And anyway idk i have felt like kind of a shell of myself and truthfully many of my friendships haven’t recovered from the distance i created and i cant blame them but its just shshshssh

i hope my future relationship endeavors treat me better and i hope for the safety and healthy relationships of all my bi siblings.

I meant to make this forever ago but here are my gay titan headcanons for pride month

Dick Grayson

The man is definitely bi. Growing up with bruce, he never got a chance for any kind of meaningful relationship and wasn't like other kids with internet access (or however that worked, I mean he's around my mom's age and her generation all had like flip phones in highschool or whatever) or "the talk" or really anything pertaining to sexuality. And instead of not realizing it until adulthood, he kinda just took it as it's completely normal because he never saw anything special about it. Bruce was always supportive of any pride marches going on which made him feel safe but they always had this mutual understanding that didn't make anything need to be said out loud

He may look sexy as fuck all the time but it's all a show, he's so asexual. I've always kinda took this as canon even though nothing like that was mentioned or shown, and he slept with kori pretty early on but nevermind that. He's not out to anyone because he didn't know asexuality was a thing, but more on that later with another character I headcanon as ace :-)

When he does figure it out though he comes out publicity rather quickly and the internet goes wild, leaving his teammates to find out through twitter

Koriand'r

On Tamaran, no one is really aware of sexuality as a society, but just that a princess needs her prince and things like that (I don't know much about Tamaran, I could be wrong in canon but this is headcanon) but they do have the capacity for sexuality. Kori comes to earth and discovers human sexuality and doesn't really understand any of it and tries to figure out what she is but comes to the conclusion that it's VERY confusing but by god does she love dick grayson

Gar Logan

He's very much pansexual. He's always struggled with coming out to people, half of him thinking 'it's so obvious but they never said anything so they must be homophobic but deal with me for titans business' and 'they think I'm straight and I should come out' but rachel helps him, they are mspec solidarity

He comes out officially to the public during pride month which causes the rest of the titans to come out and make their statements which makes the world go crazy

He comes out to the team by donning a bunch of pan pride merch and hanging up a flag in his room and eventually they take notice and ask what it's about he makes a big show out of it and kori makes him a pan colored cake with the help of rachel because he was so excited about it

When he and rachel officially room together, they fold their pride flags in half to combine them on the wall

He is also asexual. I don't get sexual attraction so almost everyone is asexual. Like me he doesn't get the hype around it so he doesn't make a big deal about it like his pansexuality. He comes out because jason makes a joke about him and rachel now sharing a room and he just goes "huh? oh, no, me and rachel don't do that. I'm asexual :D" thus prompting dick to talk to gar in private and explain to him, and he doesn't show it but he's very excited and goes to tell kori

Rachel Roth

She is so bi without a doubt. When she comes out with the titans, people give her a lot of shit for being in a committed relationship with a man while being bi but she responds to all public backlash just getting increasingly more obnoxious with it. Think like aggressively chaotic videos in response to trolls to Lady Gaga songs and hanging pride flags from the tower every June

Jason Todd

Look at this man and tell me he's not bi. You can't. I know I've headcanoned like everyone as bi but that's because I'm projecting

He gets a boyfriend and thinks he's keeping it a secret but he's really bad at it

He acts like he's going out with a girl but has no idea how to act with a guy, so he asks the titans very obvious advice that just gets worse the more he tries to cover it up

Bruce knows it from the start pretty much because he's always acted like a tool who only cared about showing off everything batman and titan related when he dated girls but he actually appears genuine, so it must mean he's gay

One evening he tells the titans he's going on a date and rachel goes "with your boyfriend?"

Then they convince him to take his date to the tower to meet them which ends up being the best date he's ever been on

Conner Kent

At first he has no concept of sexuality because he starts out when he broke out of the lab with the emotional mind of a toddler

As he "grows up" he learns more about sexuality it kinda confuses him and finds he's unlabeled

Sexuality is hella confusing for him because all his pre existing knowledge comes from Clark Kent and Lex Luther and it's not like he inherited their sexuality and he never got to grow up and experience life

He's one of the titans who isn't exactly out about their sexuality, but that's because he doesn't label himself and currently that's only a concern to komand'r

His girlfriend is unlabeled too for the same reasons as kori and Conner has the biggest himbo bi wife energy despite being the smartest human-ish alive

Ghosts of Time; Prologue

Soldier tossed and turned. Burning memories of the war he was in kept getting to him. He tried turning his hearing aids off to nod away any potential trigger noises. That just made it worse for him. It isolated any noise and his thoughts grew too loud to even bare. He looked at the ticking clock near his bed, it read "1:40 Am". Soldier tried to get sleep at 8 Pm. So, unable to sleep, he got up and headed to the kitchen. Seeing as maybe some food will help him sleep. Or maybe it was stress eating?Either way he wanted food. He looked inside the fridge, seeing what leftovers he could snack on. he didn't want to be too loud as to not awaken any other of the mercs, so microwave food was out of the picture. Soldier saw there was some leftover fried chicken, which tastes alright cold, so he took some out, and sat down to eat.

He was halfway through the leftovers when he heard this ghostly cry, which was drawn out, and agonized. He turned to the source of the noise. there was nothing there.

"Weird...my hearing aids are turned off..." he muttered to himself, turning them back on. he finished eating and got up. Worried, he went and picked up a pistol that was lying down. he crept closer and closer to where he thought the source of the sound was. He saw a tall, thin shadow approach him. he held the gun out before a familiar voice emanated from the silhouette. "What the hell are you doing." The voice hissed. It was Spy. Soldier lowered the gun. "You didn't happen to hear an agonized cry did you?" Soldier just stared at the tall Frenchman, with a face of confusion. "If I did the whole base would be awake, Soldier." Spy grumbled.

"Well, I heard something, and my hearing aids were off!"

"then I don't know maybe you're hearing things?" Spy's tone immediately grew irritated. "Why the hell are you even awake at this hour?"

"I couldn't sleep. PTSD getting to me again"

"Well, maybe this ghostly cry is from that" Spy snorted in a sarcastic tone. he was not putting up with Soldier's bullshit.

"I've never heard such noises though!" Soldier snapped back.

"PTSD can change over time Soldier." Spy facepalms. "Just get back to bed before you awake the others. you know how Medic gets when he's up late at night."

"Alright alright, Essh..." Soldier walked back toward his bedroom, before turning and asking "What are you doing up so late?"

"Im a very light sleeper Soldier, I was checking to see if our base was breached upon hearing you rummaging through our fridge."

"Eh makes sense." Soldier turned his head around, and walked back into his bedroom.

He flopped onto bed, and stared into the ceiling. He was so tired but couldn't seem to sleep. looking back at the clock it was 2:07 a.m. Soldier sighed, and opened a drawer next to his bed, pulling out a bottle of pills. He downed a couple and laid. back down, hoping that they'd help him fall asleep. And that they did.

when Soldier awakened, it was about 7 a.m. he stood up, and looked around, adjusting his hearing aids, Put on his helmet, and left his room, heading to go eat with the other mercs.

Soldier's helmet was rather cute for such an intimidating man. it had colorful stickers on it, such as rainbows and stars. It also had a bi-flag sticker that Pyro gifted him. however, his favorite wasn't even a sticker. it was one of Demoman's smiley face sticky notes. He and Soldier were very close to each other.

Upon entering the dining room, Soldier got himself some coffee and sat down. He drank some of the coffee and just looked down.

"Aye Solly, what's with the long face? You're usually pretty loud!" Scout shouted abruptly, drinking some of his energy drink. "Everything alright man?"

"Hm? Yes, sorry didn't sleep much last night." he kept his tone quiet. still staring down at the dark brown liquid in his cup

"That's the third time this week Soldier..." Medic said with a look of concern, making himself something to eat. "Do you think something is wrong?" He turned to Soldier. "Perhaps your PTSD is getting to you?"

"been hearing 'newer' things. Not what I usually hear." He said whilst taking a sip. "It was this long, drawn-out cry of agony. My hearing aids were turned off too if that helps. I ran into Spy last night, and he didn't hear anything."

"It probably is your PTSD Soldier. Its normal for things to change." Medic said in a calm manner. "I'll prescribe you more to help with it later alright?"

"but... it wasnt... this was different!"

"i highly doubt it Soldier." "alright..." Soldier grumbled, and got up. Walking past Sniper, who was sharpening arrows.

"give yourself a rest mate... you might just be stressin' out too much."

"its hard when im constantly hearing things." Soldier growled. He went outside, and just, sat down near a tree to think.

Here's a list of some of the stuff i make

Sewing

I make custom dice bags, those are 12-16 depending on the fabric and any add-ons. (Example: mine is embroidered, another has pearls and buttons on it) embroidery can be done but will cost more.

Scrunchies/hair ties. Most of them are cotton, but i make velvet and silk ones. Cotton is 3, velvet and silk are 4. You get a dollar off if you buy 2.

Customizable stuffed animals. You can pick the color, pattern, whatever. on these dolls, and they are made to order. The animals i have are a large dinosaur, large dragon, turtle, rabbit, dragon, and elephant. ( i think thats everything.) These all come with the date it was completed on its paw, so you know how old your new friend is.

Bumblebees!! These are little 7$ plushies that can sit on your desk or sleep with you, each one has a unique patten on its wing. It also comes with the date it was completed, so you know how old your new friend is.

Custom humanoid dolls. This can be from a photo of you or a loved one. Or you can send me art of your character. These are incredibly complex, detailed dolls, and i will work closely with you to make the doll. It's a long process that takes me several hours. As a result, these are at least $200. I only take one or two commissions for these a month at the moment.

I can take other commissions but we will have to discuss that.

Stickers

Potions. Each potion is completely unique. Each painted by me using India Inks. These paper stickers are in 3 different sizes. Small is 3, medium is 4, and large is 5. You can tell me what color you want, and if its not available in the size you want, i can likely make it.

Holographic spider's hat shop. This is a large vinyl Holographic sticker of a jumping spider wearing a water droplet hat, selling other tiny things for others to wear as hats. This sticker is $4. If i have any in may, there's mini paper ones for $2

Milkshake pride stickers. These are paper stickers meant to be semi-subtle pride flags. I have the following flags, and can add more. Lesbian, omni, bi, ace and aro, demisexual, demiromantic, pan, rainbow, nonbinary, trans, and intersex. These are $2 each. I also have a tiny sticker set of all of them for the same price.

Fairy. This fairy sticker is a paper sticker of a fairy holding a mushroom as an umbrella. It is $2

Frog with a tophat. This is a paper sticker of a cute little frog with a tophat. He's rather dapper. $2

Fox leaping. This is a paper sticker of a red fox. It is also $2

Red mushroom this paper sticker will not be remade, i have a few left. It's a cartoony red mushroom in some grass. It's $1.50

Art commissions

It is probably worth mentioning that i have a BFA, so that does affect my pricing slightly (on my illustrative work)

I am flexible in style, and can do a fair number of stylized things. No realism.

1. rachel berry - bisexual

- i don't really have an explanation for this except; “that was so gay” in artie's musical fantasy (i think) and “that's an image that i can never get out of my mind” when he saw sam as a stripper... like okay....

3. quinn fabray - lesbian

- literally drew [REDACTED] pictures of rachel on the bathroom walls

- LITERALLY f worded santana (twice, i might add)

-“i've always wondered what it would be like with a woman”

- the entirety of 4x14 (i do)

- she literally stared at santana and mercedes while they were shaking ass in river deep mountain high (smiling happily i might add)

- well i know this is canon but since i see A LOT of people (on AO3 especially) trying to erase her sexuality, here's me explaining why she IS in fact a lesbian (i am a lesbian too so don't fight me on this)

- she did not give out “mixed signals” on the show. i know she said she was attracted to both girls and guys in 2x15 (sexy), but that part was obviously a blatant lie. after f wording finn in 1x15 (the power of madonna), the first thing she did was to ask for a burger, like girly... really??

- she also cheated on literally every guy she dated (with mostly brittany), i mean come on if a guy did a good job to her, she wouldn't even think of cheating (i don't think so at least)

- she had more chemistry with any of the girls than any of the guys she dated/in the new directions

5. sam evans - bisexual

- idk if any of you guys knew this but he was actually originally introduced as kurt's love interest on the show, so.... 🤨

- also NO straight guy would take the time to do a whole macaroni portrait of another guy (as seen in 4x17; guilty pleasures)

- blaine literally developed a crush on him idk

6. kurt hummel - gay (,non-binary and asexual)

- alright no explanation needed for his sexuality, it's canon

-also i do not actually have an explanation for his nb headcanon... i read about it once and just went with it lmao

- i do however have an explanation for the ace headcanon, in 2x15 (sexy), he said he didn't like hearing about the sex talk burt and blaine both tried to give him, and to be fair, he seems asexual

7. blaine anderson - gay

- no explanation needed, it's canon

8. noah puckerman - pansexual
