ranting abt my roommate in the tags dont look at me
#bro i really like them a lot but they have been getting on my NERVES since moving in omg. they're my partner's best friend and there's#a lot of good reasons for that but also as im getting to know them more closely im realizing they can be soooo pretentious#its both my partner's birthday and their birthday today so i went to the store at 7am to get breakfast stuff#2 diff types of biscuits. cinnamon rolls. hash browns. sausage plus plant-based sausage for them. fruit. juice. red bull.#that one brand of sparkling water i know they like. ingredients for a birthday cake. plus 2 bottles of champagne and OJ for mimosas#i spent like $130 on this and then when we finished making breakfast they wanted to take a photo of our plates & mimosa glasses & stuff#and they turned the champagne bottle around so you couldn't see the brand name and were like 'uhh nobody needs to know this is andré lol'#(andré is an inexpensive but common brand of champagne if you're unaware)#like dude. i went out of my way to do this and already spent a significant amount of money#and you're gonna comment about the quality of the champagne i got? wack#this happened like 6 hours ago and im still feeling very wtf about it lol#they're weirdly hella pretentious about southern culture too and reference all sorts of tiny things as being innately southern...#which my partner (who is literally also southern? we're talking virginia vs north carolina) doesn't understand#and im just tired of it. they make mildly fatphobic comments and kinda uphold traditional beauty/body standards for women and they dont#seem to have much self-reflection for this. which is fuckin weird coming from a queer trans person who is incredibly interested in the#very granular aspects of queer history and 'theory'#there's literally so many other things about them that either mildly bother me or otherwise fully piss me off and im refraining from#listing them because i would 100% sound like an asshole but. i really just wish i lived only with my partner still.#god ok one more: the other day they asked me if i needed to use the bathroom before they showered (its a 1 bathroom house)#and i said nah. then they proceeded to not shower for 2+ hours#at that point i asked them if they minded if i took a quick shower cause i'd also been meaning to and like. it'd been over 2 hours#and they got kinda short and were like 'oh well i guess not. i was kinda making my way in there though. i can wait though.#no thats ok i still need to shower i was slowly gettin there but i can wait'#like thanks and sorry and i'll be quick but also IT HAS BEEN 2+ HOURS

I fear I am getting sick again. I really struggled today. I did my best. I actually had a pretty good day. But I was still struggling.
I didn't help that I did not sleep good. I felt like I was drowning. If I turned over at all I would start choking. It was not good. But I woke up and tried to be okay. I did snooze my alarm but I still left on time. I got up and got dressed and tried to not feel ugly.
James was downstairs and told me how pretty I was. But I didn't feel pretty. They helped me carry my bag and my doll house to the car. I appreciated them doing that.
I didn't know it was raining already. They told me they remembered to put the splash guard on their bike but I would not be surprised if they got a very wet butt.
Even with the rain it was not a bad ride. I got there before 8. I struggled to bring things inside but I was fine.
I took a little walk up to the art building right away. My first plan of the day was to paint the windows of my doll house and then glue down some wall paper. I grabbed the materials I needed and went back to the office to work.
I spent an hour just working on this silly project. I had my breakfast. I painted. I listened to my podcast. Elizabeth came in and asked how I was doing. And I was actually good. It was the best I would feel all day.
Pretty soon my cough would come back. It's like I'm just full of mucus and I'm drowning. The cough isn't even really helping. It's very frustrating. I tried the cough drops lolly pops. And they helped a little. But I just felt gross.
I very much wanted to go home. But I promised to pick up Celia at 130. And I wanted to stick to that.
So I stuck it out. I worked on my schedule planning. I started working on giving the CIT program some more program choices. And then decided I would make a document that sums up each update to the programs. And I'm not done that yet but I am really pleased with how it's coming together.
I would really appreciate the breaking up of the day when I went to get Celia. She only lives 10 minutes away so it wasn't a long drive but it was nice.
She lives in a very nice little neighborhood. It was neat seeing her house. And soon we were off and heading back to camp. And while I was driving when she got a call that her car was fixed! Amazing! I offered to drop her off there later and she accepted.
When we got to camp we walked to nature together. I hung out with her for a little. I liked looking at the animals. And I would finally dismantle the failed snail tank. The last of the snails were gone. And it was time to dump the water and put away the parts.
After we finished that I went back to the office to finish my synopsis document, for the day at least until I got feedback, and waited for Celia to be done her work at the nature lodge.
After she came back to the office I would still wait until 330 to call it a day. And me and Celia headed to the mechanic. Which was on my way home so it was not a big deal. I could tell she wanted to hang out but I also was just feeling very bad still. I hope we can hang out soon. When we are both feeling better.
I went home. The rain picked up. But it wasn't terrible. I went home and was back by 415.
When I got home I brought all my things in. Including the package of English muffins I found in the back of the car. James had texted me earlier lamented not buying them but we totally did they just were forgotten in the car.
When I got inside I would put my stuff in the kitchen and started working on putting things away in the studio. And I would get a lot done. But I would have to take a pretty long break later on.
When James got home I had just finished setting up the newly decorated doll house. I think it looks pretty good! I may still split up some of my critters to one of the other houses but for now I'm very happy. James would help me move some boxes and sort my wood scraps and some other odds and ends.
They would tell me about their day while they started making pizza dough for dinner. I would keep working in the studio but my stomach started hurting and I was getting kind of upset about it.
I would go lay on the couch after James convinced me I needed a break. That my declaration of "I'm not done yet" was not a good reason to keep working because I would never be done. Which was fair.
I laid on the couch with sweetp while James finished making dinner. They made pizza and salad. And while I was still feeling bad at least I wasn't hungry anymore.
I would lay in the couch for a long time. I wanted to keep working in the studio but I was also just. Not feeling good. But as soon as I got a little energy I forced myself up.
I would do a lot. I finally cleared off the desk. I hung the rest of my hoops. I hung some of my paints. I hung some of my Polly pockets. I hung more art. It's not perfect but it's a much more useable space now and I'm thrilled.
Once I felt pretty good about the studio I would do some work on the basement. Reorganizing the landing where the washer and dryer will go. I would have some ice cream while I worked. Things were good.
I started not feeling amazing again. I went and turned the shower on in hopes that it would be warm by the time I put my jewelery away and my laundry in the hamper and took my makeup off. And it worked! Like it wasn't hot but it was way warmer. And much more comfortable and I took a good long time just being clean. And it made me feel a lot better. Not perfect but a lot better.
I trimmed my bangs. And brushed my teeth. And James was finishing up their and game they had been playing since dinner. We would move the bed so we could put a power strip on James's side of the bed. And now we are laying here. Taking about how Sweetp seems so much more comfortable, that he isn't always sleeping with us anymore. Which we are glad he's comfortable but we miss him being right here.
Tomorrow I'm supposed to have a group. Just a little one. But I am not feeling great still. So we will see how the day goes. I am hoping to get into work and set up low ropes and then just chill and mess with my documents until the group comes in. I hope I can survive the day.
I hope you all have a good night and sleep well. I love you all. Until next time.

Overlooked and Overworked
Tom Holland x Sister
Summary: Being Tom Holland’s little sister was great growing up, but after his success she’s a little left behind. Y/N Holland is willing to do whatever for her family because she loves them.
Warnings: Angst, fluff ending, rude Tom, overworked, sleep deprived
A/N: I don’t think Tom or any of the members of the Holland’s would allow this to happen to any member of their family or friends, I just had this idea and wrote it. Also I wrote this back in like January and just now got the guts to post it!

Tumblr media
The past couple of years for you have been an emotional roller coaster. You’ve been so excited and happy to see your brother succeed in his career. It’s always fun to see him on the big screen as someone else. But it’s also been tiring and sad because you feel left out. You don’t get to go to set often, you don’t get to travel with him, and you aren’t a part of his charity. The Brothers Trust is just him and your 3 other brothers. Given you help out way more than all of the brothers. Since you went to school for business, you help your mum and dad with both of their businesses and then run The Brothers Trust.
Tom is the oldest, then it’s you, the twins, and then Paddy. You’re only a year and a half younger than Tom. You were very close growing up, but once he started doing movies, you slowly grew apart. Him and the twins then grew closer. You loved him dearly but it just wasn’t the same since you never felt included. He took Harry to sets with him and on press tours. Sam would join along when he wasn’t working at the restaurant. Paddy would join during school breaks. But every time you would try to join him, he would say no. That he was too busy or too tired. You didn’t want to fight him but you were always crushed.
When he got the role of Spiderman, he decided then he wanted to move out into his own apartment. You offered to help him find a place since you had been looking for yourself. You offered to share a place and split rent but he said he wanted to be completely on his own. But shortly after he moved into his new 4 bedroom apartment, he had Harrison, Tuwaine, Sam, and Harry move in.
“The twins are moving in with Tom. Can you help pack and move them this weekend?” Your dad asked.
“What? They’re moving in with Tom? I thought he wanted his own space?” You asked him.
“He said he wanted to be around people because it was too lonely and quiet. Did you ever find a place? If so, you may want roommates too.”
“No I realized I can’t afford a place in a nice area to live alone. All my mates have moved off to continue their education or they have jobs else where.” You said sadly.
“Tom should of asked you then. I’m sorry y/n/n.”
“It’s fine. He hangs out with all four of them all the time. I would of just been in the way.” You said as you got up and left the room.
It’s been a couple of years and you still can’t afford to get your own place. Between helping run three businesses, you don’t have time to get a part time job. You pay your parents for rent and help pay bills so you are doing adult things. Plus it helps your parents financially. It’s busy season since your mum is picking up gigs for photoshoots, your dad is on tour for standup and his new book, plus you are planning a movie event through the trust as well as trying to get all the merch bagged and shipped. You have been working 14-15 hour days for the past 3 weeks without a day off. You are feeling the tiredness mentally and physically.
Tom has time off from the movie he is filming now. They gave him a month off for the holidays. Him and Harry have been home but all they have done is hung out with friends and go to the pub. You have been holed up in your office/bedroom for 3 days straight. Only to go out to the bathroom and kitchen to grab food.
“Where has y/n been? I haven’t seen much of her since we got home.” Harry asks Tom.
“She might be finalizing the Spies in Disguise event and getting things ready.” Tom responded.
“Oh good. Y/n is great at getting a head start on things so I’m guessing she’s done with all the prep and souvenirs.” Harry smiled. Tom laughed in response.
On Christmas Day, you only came out of your room for breakfast and lunch and then went back in your room to work. No one noticed the bags under your eyes that you tried to hide with makeup. No one noticed you almost falling asleep at the table. No one thought twice about why you spent most of Christmas alone in your room. But you were behind. You still had a lot of orders to fulfill and send out. You still had get all of the souvenirs together for the event that was in two days. You still had to finish sending out your dads orders for his book as well as finalize his January travel plans and stand up dates. Your mum had booked 12 more shoots and you had to finalize times and dates. And everything was supposed to be done in the next week. You finally caved and decided to ask Tom for help since it was his event after all.
“Hey Tom can I have you help me out for a little bit?” You asked him Christmas evening.
“Do you need me tonight?” He asked.
“If you can that would be great.”
“Sorry y/n/n. I can’t. I’m meeting to boys at the apartment.”
“Well maybe they can help too.” You sounded hopeful to get more help to lighten your load.
“No can do. We have drinks and plans.”
“Well then can you come tomorrow morning or early afternoon?”
“Can’t. I have a meeting with my manager to discuss everything that’s coming up and then all of us at the apartment and Paddy are going into the city. Maybe I can help you after the event?”
“No it’s okay. Don’t worry about it. I’ll handle it.” You said sadly as you turned to go back to your room.
“What about Paddy? Or mum or dad?” He asked.
“Paddy has football that mum is taking him to before she does a shoot tomorrow. Dad is working on some other stuff for his January shows.”
“Sam or Harry?”
“Well both will be with you tonight and tomorrow.”
“What about in the morning?”
“Sam has to work remember. And I think Harry is meeting with some mates to catch up with them or something along those lines. It’s fine. I’ve got it handled. Have fun tonight and tomorrow. Be safe. Love you.” You turned and almost ran back to your room. You wanted to break down in tears from being overwhelmed and for not being included in any of Tom’s plans of hanging out and catching up. You’ve barely seen Tom in the past year. Only when he’s in London. You shook the thoughts of your brother out of your head and pulled out a sheet of paper. You wrote down everything that needed to be done. Then on your white board, wrote them down in most important the least important.
First up was getting all of the brothers trust bags done. You went to the storage closest and pulled out everything you would need and set the boxes on your bed. Then you went and grabbed a tote to put the finished product in. It took you until 4 am, but you finally finished putting them together. You went into the kitchen and made you some tea. You went back in your room and marked the brothers trust goody bags off of your list. Next you started finalizing plans for your mum. That just involved organizing times and dates. You finished that around 1030 am. You marked that off the list as well.
Before you emailed all of the clients their dates and times, you went to the kitchen to grab and snack and drink. Your mum was in the kitchen.
“Morning love.” She smiled at you.
“Morning.” You said back waiting on your tea.
“So I’m going to drop Paddy off at football in 20 minutes and then Tom will pick him up to go into the city. I have to go to my shoot. Do you have the invoice I can give them?”
“I do.” You rushed to your room and grabbed it from a folder then went back and handed it to her. “Everything is on there. The deposit has been paid and it shows that as well as the price for the shoot and the editing. It also gives the timeline of when they will get the pictures.”
“Great. This is wonderful. Thank you. Also the theater called and said we can set it up today at 3 pm. Are you okay to handle that on your own?”
You sighed but answered, “yes I can handle it. I finished the bags last night. I just need to print off the papers to put on the seats as well. Plus get the itinerary finished which I will have by tonight so Tom knows what’s going on.”
“That’s great. I’ll be there to take photos as well as Harry but the boys will all be busy with fans and making sure they all feel special.”
“Sounds good. Have fun on your shoot.”
Your mum smiled as her and paddy left the house. You went back into your room and emailed everyone for your mum. Then you printed the brothers trust sheets that said what the event was supporting and how we were thankful for their donations. As those were printing you forgot you had to pick up an order of pictures so Tom could sign them for the guest coming to the screening. You looked up and saw that it was 130 and if you were going to be on time you needed to leave in the next 15 minutes.
After you loaded the goody bags into your car, you drove the 20 minutes to the print shop to pick up the pictures. You then went to the theater and set everything out. It took 45 minutes to lay everything out and make sure it was perfect. You then snagged some photos for Instagram and posted them. By the time you got home it was just shy of 5. You went straight to your room to finalize the itinerary. At 8 pm your mum knocked on the door.
“Hey baby. I’m back. How did everything go setting up wise?”
“It was good. Took longer than expected but wasn’t too bad for being the only one there. Also here is the itinerary for you and dad. I also have one for each of the boys.”
“Wow. This is detailed perfectly.”
“It kind of had to be since Tom has an event to go to tomorrow night and he can’t be late. I figured the more detailed, the less things can go wrong.”
“Fair point. Love I’m not sure if the boys notice the work you put in, but I do. Have you slept yet?”
You looked at her shocked, “what do you mean?”
“I mean that I can tell you are exhausted. I woke up at 2 am last night and heard you in here and saw your light was still on.” She paused and looked at your long list on the white board. “And by the looks of it, you have a long to do list. Do you need help? After we get through the event I can help. I don’t have a shoot for a couple of days.”
“I appreciate mum, but this list needs to be done by then. And everything you can help me with will be done already. But thank you.”
“Did you ask your brothers to help? I mean this is there thing. They should be helping you. Not leaving it to you to do yourself.”
“I asked Tom to help so I could have him do the goody bags for tomorrow but he had a guys night with Sam and Harry and them last night. Then they were all busy this morning and then went into the city. But it’s fine. I did the bags last night. That’s what you heard when you woke up.”
“I’m sorry baby. I’m going to have a talk with him. Have you had a break to just hangout with Tom. I know it’s been a while since you’ve seen him.”
“No he’s always in a meeting or with the boys. But if Tom wanted to see me, he’d make time but when I try, he can’t. But with all this work, I haven’t really done much outside of this room in a while so it’s fine.”
“It’s not fine. You both used to be so close. Almost like you were twins. Weirdly enough closer than the twins have ever been. I hope you two can work whatever this is out.”
“Me too mum. Me too.” You looked at her as she slowly walked out.
After your mum left the room, you got back to work finalizing your dads stuff. Thankfully it was only 12 am when you finished. Deciding to pack all of the orders so you can drop them off to be shipped in the morning, you went and grabbed everything you would need from the storage closet and got to work. You stayed up all night working. You finally finished all the orders at 9 am. When you realized the time you rushed to get dressed and cleaned up as best you could. By 10 am you were out the door to go to the post office to ship the orders and then you were off to the theater to make sure everything was set. By 1pm the rest of your family showed up. And by 2 the theater was full of people who were excited to see the brothers and the movie.
People knew who you were. Everyone knew Tom had a sister. But you did great staying out of the eye of people. None of your brothers posted much about you on social. Your dad mainly posted about Tom and the brothers golf adventures. Your mum would occasionally when she made you model when she was trying something new. So when people arrived, they walk past you and straight to the four brothers who were ready to greet everyone.
When the event started, you weren’t really needed so you went to a back room they had set up for your brothers to relax away from people and sat on the couch. Not sleeping since Christmas Eve was starting to catch up with you but some how you forced yourself to stay awake.
“Y/n we have a problem.” Your youngest brother said as he came in the room. “The movie hasn’t started yet and it was supposed to 15 minutes ago.”
“Okay I’ll go see what’s going on.” You went to the manager of the theater and she explained to you how the light in the projector went out and it was going to be another 20 minutes before it started. She apologized multiple times.
“Hey Tom. Can you do a q&a for 20 minutes or so?”
“No the movie is supposed to be on.”
“They are having technical difficulties and it’s going to take 20 minutes to fix it.”
Tom got annoyed because he knew this was pushing the entire timeline back and it was now be pushing it for him to be on time for his event tonight. “Sure.”
“Thanks. I’ll let you know when we are good to go.”
After 30 minutes. The movie was finally ready to go. Every one was enjoying it and all four of your brothers moved around the theater so the kids felt like they were watching the movie with them personally. When it was over everyone was ushered into a lobby where there was a meet and greet with photos. By the time the boys were done with everyone, it was 20 minutes until Toms next event.
“Great. I’m going to be late. Thanks for that y/n. Why didn’t you have them check everything yesterday?”
“Because I didn’t think of it.”
“So stupid. How could you not think of it? It’s literally the first thing on the list of things to check when prepping the theater. Do your job better. Thats what you are paid to do. I’ll see you later.” Tom rolled his eyes and stormed off. You just stared feeling humiliated since the theater staff and your family had witnessed that. You were holding in your emotional breakdown until you could do it in private.
“Sorry guys. Y’all can go ahead and head out. I’ll clean this up and bring home whatever is ours.” Sam, Harry, and Paddy saw this as a get of jail free card and booked it out of the theater. Your dad came by and kissed you on the head and said I have to finish up some work and headed out. Your mum looked at you sadly.
“I’ll help you baby.”
“No it’s okay mum. Go edit the photos so we can get them sent out.” You smiled at her.
“It’s okay. I can do them later tonight.”
“Mum seriously. Go home. I got this. I’ll be home later. You kissed her on the cheek as you walked back in the theater. You thankfully left the tote yesterday which made it easier to put everything in. You put the tote in your car and headed back in the theater to sweep and clean up the mess. By the time you got home, it was 9 pm. You had been up for 61 hours straight. You were exhausted. You just wanted to sleep. But Tom was home and he was livid.
“What the hell?” He asked.
“What?” You asked back.
“You know I got yelled at by my manger for 30 minutes about how I was irresponsible and immature for being almost a hour late to the event tonight?”
“Why did you get yelled at? You were doing stuff for charity. He should get over it.”
“He was mad because SOMEONE told him I would be done with our event in plenty of time to go to this other one. And when I told him there was technical difficulties because that same SOMEONE didn’t do their job, he got even more mad.”
“I get that I probably should of checked but things happen Tom. Okay? Things I can’t control. Things the theater can’t control. I did this entire event by myself. Sorry for not checking but other than the delay the people loved it and we raised money which is okay because our charity now can help so many more.”
“You didn’t do this by yourself. We all help. And our charity? Our? You mean mine? Sams? Harry’s? Paddys? It’s our faces that make that charity. And when something goes wrong we are the ones that look bad. Not the person behind the scenes that only does some of the work.”
You looked at him like he was a stranger. What he said broke your heart. That’s what he really thought? You just shook your head lightly and walked to your room. You shut the door and locked it.
“Really Tom?” Your mum asked as her and your dad walked in during the argument.
“Yeah mum. We do all the work and she’s trying to take the credit. We’ve all noticed and it’s getting out of hand. You do more than she does.”
“Tom I’m extremely disappointed in you right now.” Your dad said.
“Tom she does all of the work. The planning, the scheduling, the packaging, social media, distributing the money, and figuring out all the ways we can make money to help those smaller charities.” Your mum added.
“She does?”
“Yes Tom. On top of helping me and your father with our businesses. We’ve seen you more than her this past month because she’s been so busy.” Your mum said.
“Wow.”
“Did you know she was up until 4 am on Christmas night so she could finish the goody bags before we had to prep the theater. That she had those pictures printed so you could sign them for the guest. That she made an itinerary so detailed that nothing could go wrong. Except she didn’t account for technical difficulties. She set up the theater and cleaned the theater all by herself. None of us helped her. We just showed up for the event.” Your mum said.
“Tom have you not noticed how exhausted she looks? It looks like she hasn’t slept in days. She’s trying her best to handle everything so we can have everything run smoothly for us. She even mentioned your event and how she needed to get you out of there so you wouldn’t be late. We’ve all been horrible to her by letting her do this by herself.” Your dad said.
“I... I didn’t know. I’m going to go talk to her.”
Tom got up and knocked on your door. He couldn’t hear anything so he tried opening it. He noticed it was locked and went to his old room and found the key you gave him years ago. When he unlocked it he noticed the mess around your room of boxes, plastic, mail bags for packages, and stacks of papers. He saw you on your bed and saw you were asleep. He went over and tucked you in. He went to your desk and saw the white board with everything marked off under the to do list. He then looked on your desk and saw how your mum and dads plans were finalized. He knew you mentioned everything when you asked him for help Christmas night and now you were done with it. Even all the orders were done and he saw the receipt from the post office proving the orders were shipped. He felt horrible knowing the only way that you got everything done was by staying up all night.
He turned and walked back to you and finally noticed the bags under your eyes. As well as tear stains that he knows he’s the cause for. It broke his heart knowing he was the cause. It also broke knowing that you asked for help so you wouldn’t fall in the deep end, but by saying he couldn’t help, he pushed you in and watched you drown without even realizing.
He gave you a kiss on the head and got up and quietly walked out.
“What time did y/n wake up on Christmas Day?”
“From what we know, maybe around 8 or 9.” Your dad said. Tom sat there quietly while doing the math in his head.
“61 hours.” He suddenly said.
“What?” Your mum said.
“61 hours. That’s how long she went without sleep. She asked me for help and told me why and I said no. She’s finished the list. She’s organized both of your stuff. She’s packed and shipped out all of the orders. She did everything for the event. She hasn’t slept. She’s asleep now but it was 61 hours. How could I let my sister do that? How did I not see it?” Tom asked his parents. They looked at him in shock.
“My poor baby” your mum said.
“We will talk to her tomorrow when she wakes up.” Your dad said.
“I want to be here when she wakes up so I can apologize. I’m going to go see her again.”
He got up and walked to your room. He quietly started cleaning up the mess left from packaging orders. He then laid on the other side of your bed thinking about how he messed up so bad. Shortly after he fell asleep too.
-——————
Around 7 am you woke up still exhausted but you needed a glass of water. When you went to throw the blanket off of you, you saw Tom asleep in your bed still in his clothes from the night before.
You were confused as to why he was in your bed, but you chose to ignore him. You stood up and went to the kitchen. Your mum was already cooking breakfast.
“Morning baby. How’d you sleep?” Your mum asked.
“Alright. I’m probably going to catch a few more hours. Just needed water.” You said. “By the way, do you know why Tom is in my bed?”
“He felt bad about how he has treated you lately.” She said. “He figured out you went 60 something hours without sleep.”
You looked at her shocked and sat down. She came over and gave you a hug.
“Why did you do that to yourself? Why didn’t you ask for help?” Your dad said as he joined both of you in the kitchen.
“You were working on new stuff. Mum had shoots and a house to run. I asked Tom and thought maybe him and the boys could help but they had plans. It needed to be done before the new year and definitely needed to be done before the event.”
“We appreciate you so much baby girl. I hope you know that. You do a lot for this family and this family isn’t great at giving back. We do love you.” Your mum said as she gave you a kiss on the head. “Now please go get some sleep. Sleep all day if you’d like and I can bring you food later.”
You smiled at her and walked back to your room. Tom still hadn’t moved. You sat your water on your bedside table and crawled back under the covers. You turned your back towards Tom. You were still really saddened by his words last night, that you didn’t want to face him yet.
“Y/n/n are you awake?” You heard Tom whisper.
“Go back to sleep or get out.” You said back not opening your eyes.
“I’m sorry y/n. What I said last night was wrong. I didn’t realize you do everything for our trust. I thought mum and dad did it all. I know you’ve been killing yourself to try and catch up then get ahead, but you can’t do that to yourself. You need proper rest. I’m going to make sure you never do the 61 hours straight again. I’d rather myself do it before I let you do it again.”
“Tom it’s okay. But seriously. Leave or go back to sleep.”
“No it’s not okay. I’ve royally fucked up. I’ve let us get so far apart we are almost strangers to one another. I have a charity that doesn’t even have your name on it and you do all the work. You make sure my fans are happy as well as making sure we help other small charities. You’re absolutely amazing and I’ve treated you like shit for the last few years. I don’t even give you the time of day. I promise you this, I will do better. We will be like we used to. Even if I have to kidnap you and take you with me different places. I love you and I don’t want to be the one hurting you anymore.”
You rolled over and looked at him with tears in your eyes. Your brother finally recognized you for you. He finally realized what he’s done.
“Thank you Tom. I love you too.”
He smiled at you and leaned over to give you a hug and kiss on the forehead.
“It really means a lot that you said that. But can I please go back to sleep. I’m still exhausted.” You said.
Tom pulled you to him so your head was on his chest and shoulder. And he cuddled you so you felt protected from all the horrible things that can go wrong for you.
“Get some sleep and when you wake up, me and you will hang out. Just the two of us.” Tom said. You smiled as you drifted back to sleep.

Scorpius Malfoy x reader : Quidditch
a/n : takes place in 5th year after the CC events, reader is slytherin, veela and is from 🇧🇬
Добро утро - Good morning (Dobro utro)
* also this is a part two u can check part 1 in my posts its called : "Comfort"! Hope u like it
Tumblr media
After what happened at the owlery yesterday y/n spent the whole night thinking about Scorpius, was he okay, how is he doing, but she also was excited to attend his first Quidditch match against Ravenclaw.
Y/n put her robes and then went to breakfast. She looked around and she saw Scorpius was already there with his pal Albus Potter, they were giggling and have already started eating. Y/n sat next to her brother when he greeted her.
"Добро утро!" - her brother said, she greeted him as well as she did his friends.
When Scorpius heard her, he immediately stopped his conversation with Albus and looked at y/n. She saw him and smiled. He waved at her awkwardly and smiled, she smiled back. Albus was confused.
* after breakfast, when Scorp and y/n had classes together they smiled at each other.
When the classes finished it was time for the match.
Y/n was wearing her slytherin sweater, black leggings and her Slytherin scarf.
She and her friend sat with the Slytherin crowd, but at the row behind her was sitting Draco Malfoy (who was there to support his son) but y/n didn't see him.
The match started and y/n could see the tension is the boy 's body.
Scorpius watched how the quidditch balls were released and the match began.
Scorpius let his instinct take over as his dad has taught him, he wanted to prove to him that he was good.
He quickly went to the center of the pitch and started looking at all directions for the little Golden ball.
They made goal, but Ravenclaw made 3, they were losing. Despite his teammates s goals, Ravenclaw was still ahead of them as the game went on.
"Slytherin better catch up fast - Ravenclaw 120, Slytherin 60. Neighter seeker seems to have eyes on the snitch! Oh wait, it seems like Malfoy has something in mind! Look at him go!"
Scorpius raced after the snitch, but the Ravenclaw seeker, Nate Scott was right beside him. Scorpius leaned forward and willed at his broom to go faster.
" It looks like a tight race between Malfoy and Scott! Who will get it - another 10 points to Ravenclaw, nicely done, Richards! 130 for Ravenclaw and Slytherin is still at 60!"
Scorpius was so close, y/n watched so carefully (Draco also) with crossed fingers for him to win (she couldn't imagine how bad it would be for his self esteem if they loose).
The snitch was almost at his gasp, when he felt huge pain in his ribs! The opposite team 's beater has hit him with a bat! And he fell from his broom
When y/n saw this her heart broke and she was filled with anger and started yelling something in bulgarian, but her friend tried to calm her down.
" OH WAIT DO MY EYES DECIEVE ME? SCORPIUS HAS CAUGHT THE SNITCH WHICH MAKES IT A WIN FOR SLYTHERIN WITH A TOTAL 210 POINTS"! - was announced.
Scorpius was laying on the ground when Draco rushed in. Y/n tried too but her friend told her that it was not her place there and that his dad and Madam Pomfrey will handle it. But she didn't listen. She went to the crowd and heard Scorpius mumbling :
"Look dad, we won! I caught the snitch!" - said Scorpius trying to hide the pain in his voice.
" Someone, get Madam Pomfrey! Now! “ - yelled Draco.
"I'm going!" yelled y/n.
Draco looked at her and nodded.
"Someone help me lift him!" - y/n heard Albus yelling in distance.
She ran as fast as she could to the hospital wing to explain the situation to Madam Pomfrey, but before she could finish - Draco, Albus and few other of his teammates rushed into the room.
Madam Pomfrey asked everyone to leave, until she was done.
Everyone waited outside, time passed by... Felt like forever when everyone was worried about him. Y/n saw the worry in Mr. Malfoy 's eyes. They made an eye contact for one second then he looked down, until she broke the silence.
"Can't we come in already? What is taking so long?" - y/n asked & everyone looked at her surprised.
"Look, if u don't want to wait, you can go! What are you doing here anyway? I don't remember you being friends or talking with Scorpius! “ - Albus said.
Y/n looked at him with such anger and said :
"Not everything has to revolve around you, if you weren't so selfish you would have known how we met and that I love hi-" - y/n stopped herself saying that.
Draco told Albus not to yell at her, but he couldn't remember who was this girl, he never heard Scorpius saying anything about her.
Madam Pomfrey broke the silence when she asked Draco to come in first, they talked and talked, for God knows how long! Y/n s heart was raising with worry, until Draco called y/n and Albus to come in. They saw Scorpius laying in the hospital bed, asleep.
Albus asked Madam Pomfrey if he was going to be all right, she laughed and nodded.
"How long has he been sleeping? Is he in pain?" - y/n asked.
"Not now that I hear your voice, y/n!" - Scorpius added in his sleepy voice.
"Scorpius!" - both Albus and y/n exclaimed.
The boy grabbed her hand so he could sit, but it still hurt so she carefully placed his head to the pillows.
" I told you you would do great, but you did brilliant! We won!
"Yeah, with broken rib, a Match I would never forget!" - jokingly said Scorp.
"Don't say that, you did incredible job! I'm so proud of you, we all knew you could do it! - said y/n.
These words warmed his heart, and with all the pain he felt in his ribcage he got up and kissed y/n.
When Madam Pomfrey saw that he was out of his bed she yelled at y/n and Albus to get out. They both said their goodbyes, and then rushed out of the Hospital wing and Albus smiled at y/n, knowing that she would be a great partner to his best friend.
*

Dare to fall (in love): chapter two
Hey look! There is a new chapter for this story! And finally it has a name.
Word count: 5 130 (these chapters just keep getting longer)
Warnings: There is some kissing, does that need a warning? Maybe, if someone isn’t interested in that. Then there is one thing that I think really needs a warning, but I’m not exactly sure how to put it. Maybe internal panicking due to a fear of intimacy?
Previous chapter: Chapter one
Chapter 2
When I wake up, it takes a while for me to remember where I am, but then it comes back to me. I’m at E’s place since last night I had no other option than to stay here and sleep on his couch. It seems that E is still asleep, so I get up and quietly wander around the house. I open the curtains in the living room and notice that it’s raining quite heavily outside. From the kitchen I find a clock and see that it’s already past ten o’clock. I realize that I’m actually rather hungry, and debate whether I should wait for E to wake up or if I could just go and take something from the fridge.
“What are you doing here?”
I startle and turn around when I hear E’s surprised voice behind me. And then I turn right back around again when I realize that E is only wearing shorts and nothing to cover his upper body. Even from my quick glance I was able to see that he was in good shape. Apparently E realizes what made me so flustered and explains apologetically:
“I was going to take a shower when I heard some noises from here, and just through something on to find out what it was.”
Part of me is glad that he did put something on before coming out of his bedroom, but some tiny part wishes he hadn’t. Damn this crush, I feel like I’m getting more and more enamored with E each day, instead of getting over him.
“But seriously, how are you here?”, E asks again.
“Ah, yes, I’m sorry. I don’t know if you remember, but last night Sam gave us a lift when we left from Matt and Jenna’s place. I tried to ask him if he knew where to take us, but he interrupted me before I had even finished the question and assured me that he knew where he was going. I didn’t want to keep going on about that too long after that, because I was afraid he might get annoyed. I don’t think he likes me very much,” I explain and turn around again to face E.
“Don’t mind about Sam. He’s not exactly what you’d call a people person and it takes some time for him to warm up to new people,” E explains to me.
“Well, anyway, when we got here, I got of the car to help you in here. I thought Sam was going to wait for me in the car, but when we were at the door, he just drove away. I would have called me a cab, but my phone had died during the evening, and you were passed out so I couldn’t use your phone or charger. I didn’t know what else to do so I stayed here and slept on your couch. I hope you don’t mind.”
“Why on Earth would I mind? I am a bit embarrassed though. I feel that I haven’t been a very good host for you so far. Are you hungry? The least I could do is offer you something to eat,” E offers.
“Breakfast sounds lovely. But I don’t mind if you want to take that shower and get dressed first,” I say, even though a tiny voice in my head screams that I definitely would mind that. Both because I’m actually quite hungry and because I don’t want to lose that mouthwatering sight of E topless.  But I sternly silence that inner voice.
Before going to the shower, E gives me his charger so that I can get my phone working again. I turn the phone on and write a short message to my mum to let her know that yes, I’m still alive. She always gets so worried about me if I go too long between messages while I’m traveling.
“Would you like to take a shower? I could borrow you a towel,” E asks when he reappears in the kitchen.
“Yes, that would be nice. Thank you,” I I answer. I don’t have any clean clothes here to change into, but a shower might at least help refresh me a bit.
After the shower, I find E in the kitchen sitting at the table with a large cup of coffee in his hands. He has set me a cup and a plate across the table from him, so I sit there and start to butter a toast. I take and closer look at E and notice that he doesn’t look very good, even though he tries to hide it.
“Is the hangover bad? It seemed to me that you were almost totally passed out by the time we got here,” I ask him.
“It’s not as bad as it could be. To be honest, I don’t even think I was that drunk last night. I’m a bit ashamed to say that I become sleepy quite quickly when I get drunk,” E explains. ”Though I hope you’re happy with being stuck here for a while. I don’t think I’m up to going anywhere just yet. And anyway, before we can go anywhere, I have to call Matt and ask when he can bring me my car back.”
“A quiet morning is fine by me. The weather seems a bit depressing anyway, so I’m in no hurry to leave the house quite yet,” I reassure him.
After breakfast we spend the next few hours quite quietly watching some reruns of an old sitcom and occasionally commenting something about the episodes. It feels comfortable and natural, like we’d had spent countless days like this already. In the beginning we sat down in the opposite ends of the couch, but quickly we start to gravitate closer together, until I realize that I’m sitting there leaning against E’s chest and he has his arms around me. It’s still raining slightly outside, and I feel like we’re in our own little bubble, just the two of us. I want to stop time and stay in this moment forever. Until my stomach crumbles rather loudly.
“I guess someone is getting a bit hungry,” E teases me playfully and checks his watch. “Well, I guess it is about time we get some lunch. I’m afraid I don’t have much in at the moment, since I wasn’t expecting lunch guests. How about if I call Matt and ask if he could bring me my car, so that we could drive to the town and have something to eat there?”
I agree and after a short phone call E tells me that Matt is on his way. Jenna is doing some shopping in town and Matt tells that he can come with us to meet her there. That way we don’t have to take him back to his place first. He has agreed to meet Jenna at the parking lot in front of a small shopping center. When we step out of the car, we see Jenna already rushing towards us.
“Oh my God, it’s so nice to see you again!” she exclaims and gives me a big hug without even thinking about it. “Have you been all morning here by yourself, since E’s car has been at our place? I thought that I could have asked you come shopping with me today, but I didn’t have your number,” she asks worriedly.
“No, actually she spent the night at my place,” E interrupts before I have time to answer.
“Wait, what?” Jenna exclaims.
“Yeah. By the way, you might wanna teach that brother of your some manners. Not everyone is accustomed to his charms, and it can cause some a bit unfortunate misunderstandings,” E continues to tease Jenna, pretending to be annoyed.
“Oh no. Tell me what happened!” Jenna insists.
“Oh well, apparently during the car ride last night, this one here was trying to make sure that Sam actually knew where he was supposed to take us,” E starts to tell, gesturing towards me, and continues: “Sam assured, in his usual grumpy way, that he did in fact know that, so she didn’t push it more. You see, she’s under the impression that Sam doesn’t like her. Anyway, it turned out that Sam actually didn’t know where she was staying and left while she was helping me into my house.”
“That’s weird, I’m sure I told him where to take you two”, Jenna ponders innocently. I remember that Jenna had teased E about me not staying at his place, so I wonder if she was pranking us by not telling Sam where to take me.
“Oh yes, sure, if you say so”, E mutters sarcastically. Apparently he suspects the same.
“But wait a minute. That doesn’t still explain how she ended up sleeping at your place”, Jenna realizes and gestures towards me. E looks a bit embarrassed, so I jump in and explain the rest of the story of how I ended up sleeping on E’s couch. Then we say goodbye to Matt and Jenna who head back to their car, and we head to the mall to find a restaurant to have lunch.
After lunch it has stopped raining and the sun is shining again.  E suggests that we’d go on a short hike to the forest near his house, where there is a nice, easy trail that has great views over the surrounding area, and I agree. On our way we stop by my hotel, so that I can change into something more appropriate, since I’m still wearing the same clothes I put on yesterday for the barbecue.
***
About half an hour later E parks his car by the side of the road near the start of the nature path, and we head to the forest. We follow the path upwards a slope of a hill for a while. The air feels fresh and sometimes drops of water fall on us from the trees that are still wet from the rain. We reach the top of that first small hill and when we continue down the other side, I feel the slippery mud under my start to move. I try my best to keep my balance, but in a blink of an eye I’ve fallen down and rolled down to the ditch by the path.
“Oh my God, are you ok?” E worries when he hurries to me.
“I have few scratches and bruises, but otherwise I think I’m fine”, I reassure E when he helps me up from the ground. But when I try to take a step, I feel a sharp pain in my left ankle. E has stayed right by my side and watches me so attentively that he sees immediately my face wincing in pain.
“What is it?”
“My ankle hurts. I think it might be sprained,” I explain. When I see E’s worried expression I hurry to calm him.
“It’s ok, I don’t think it’s anything too serious. Look, I can stand on it just fine. I’ve sprained my ankle like this before, and I just need to keep something cold on it for a while, and then it simply needs some rest. I probably won’t be hiking any more during this vacation, but trust me, it’s nothing serious and I’ll be fine in no time.”
“I think I should still take you to the hospital, just to be sure.”
“I’d prefer if you took me somewhere where I can take a shower and wash all this mud off of me.”
E helps me get back to the path. There E offers to carry me back to his car on piggyback, but I refuse. I argue that the path is still slippery and if he falls down, we might both end up hurting ourselves even more. He grudgingly agrees with my reasoning and we start our slow return to his car.
*** And so, I find myself in E’s bathroom for the second time that day. After helping me to his bathroom and leaving me a towel and some of his clothes to change into, he left me to clean up myself and went to look for some first aid supplies to tend my injuries. I wash all the mud off me, I wrap myself in the towel and step out of the shower.  E has left me one of his t-shirts and gym shorts to wear. They are both way too big for me, but my only other option are the wet and muddy clothes I had on earlier. I glance at the pile of my dirty clothes in the corner of the bathroom and debate whether I should do something to them. My ankle is really starting to ache though, and I just want to sit down and rest it, so I decide to deal with them later.
I get dressed and limp out of the bathroom to look for E. I find him in the kitchen where he has laid out all kinds of first aid supplies on the table. When he turns to look at me, I suddenly feel very self-conscious about how I look. In general, I think myself as average-looking at best, but wet hair, no makeup and ill-fitting, borrowed clothes isn’t really my best look. And even though I have no reason to think that E would be interested in me, I’d like to look good around him.
E moves towards me to help me walk, but I wave him off and hobble towards the table on my own. E has really been hovering over me ever since my accident, and I feel really conflicted about it. On the other hand, it feels so good to have him take care of me. I would just want to let myself sink into it, and simply enjoy being taken care of. On the other hand, I have to constantly remind myself that I shouldn’t get used to it, and that it doesn’t mean what I would like it to mean, so it might be better to not have it at all. That’s why I try to ease his worrying by acting as normally as I can, to convince him that my injuries really aren’t that serious and that I can manage on my own.
“Hop on here,” E says and pats the table when I get to him. I push myself to sit on the table and E starts to go over my wounds, cleaning them with disinfectant and putting plasters on the bigger scrapes. Then he moves his attention to my injured ankle. He pulls a chair in front of me and sits down to get a closer look. He crabs a bandage that he starts to wrap around my foot and ankle to help with the swelling and to give some support when I walk.  Then E holds my foot in his other hand, and grabs something cold wrapped in a towel and presses it against my ankle. All this time neither of us says a word, and I just observe what he’s doing. I feel weird tension between us, and it makes me nervous. Even when I try to come up with something to say, it feels like all my words get stuck in my throat. Finally E lifts his face to meet my eyes.
“Now, are you sure you don’t need to go to the hospital? You didn’t hit your head or anything like that that should be checked over?”
“No, I’m fine, really,” I say and smile reassuringly. And I’m not saying that just to stop E from worrying either. I might be slightly aching and sore all over my body, but I don’t feel anything more alarming.
“Do you need any painkillers?”
“All I need is a quiet night in, resting my foot.”
“Ok, good.”
We both fall silent after that for a while.
“What’s in there?” I ask and nod towards the towel bundle.
“Frozen peas,” E says, smiling a little.
“I hope you didn’t have any great plans for them,” I joke apologetically.
“Nothing I couldn’t sacrifice for the greater good,” E says nonchalantly. Oddly, I get the feeling that he’s only half joking. Then he glances at the clock and puts the towel, with the peas, back to the table.
“I think that’s enough for now. We don’t want you getting any frostbites, do we?” he says gently and lets go of my foot.
I feel the tension rise anew and words get stuck in my throat once again. E stands up and moves his chair away, but doesn’t step back himself. He seems to be impossibly close, and I don’t know where to look. Some of my hair have fallen in front of my face and E surprises me by gently brushing them back behind my ear.
“God, you’re so beautiful,” he whispers.
“Wha…?” I stutter and look up to E’s face to see his small smile and soft expression. I feel like I’m not sure what’s happening, and the whole situation has suddenly become a bit surreal.
“What the hell, I’m just going to say it,” E mumbles under his breath, and then continues louder: “I was going to tell you this today, at a viewpoint along that hiking trail actually. It’s a beautiful place and I thought it would make it more special. Anyway, I’m rambling now.” E stops and takes a deep breath.
“I like you. I mean more than as a friend.”
“No. Are you teasing me? Is this some kind of joke, to see if you can make me believe you?” My brain refuses to believe what E is saying.
“No, this isn’t a joke. I really meant what I said,” E assures me with a serious expression.
“I don’t understand…” I whisper weakly.
“I haven’t said anything earlier, because I wanted to be sure about my feelings first. But now that you’ve been here, it has become clear to me that I really am attracted to you,” E explains. “Now, the most important question is, have you ever thought that you could be interested in me?”
I feel a big, uncontrollable smile spread on my face. I’m too excited to form words, but I nod eagerly.  E smiles widely too and leans even closer to me. He lifts his other hand to caress my cheek, while he leans to the table with the other.
“Could I kiss you?”
And just like that, I’m nervous again. The smile drops from my face and I instinctively flinch back. For a moment, neither of us moves or says a word. Then E sighs and looks away.
“Well, I guess that answers my question,” he says, disappointment clear on his face, and starts to move away from me.
I feel a new wave of panic wash over me, when I realize that E has completely misunderstood my reaction. Though in hindsight, it’s easy to see why. Frantically I crab a hold of his shirt to stop him from moving away. Then I pull him closer, wrap my arms around him and hide my face against his chest. For a couple of seconds E just stands there, but then he carefully wraps his arms loosely around my waist. For a while we just stay there, perfectly still.
“You know, I’m getting a bit mixed messages here,” E laughs gently, but clearly confused. I take a deep breath and lift my head of E’s chest, so that he can hear more clearly what I’m going to say. It still feels like there is a lump in my throat that stops my words from coming out of my mouth, but I know that I simply have to explain my behavior. But I can’t look E in the eyes yet.
“I just needed a bit time to get my head around all this. I had no idea that you might be interested in me, so it took me by surprise,” I explain quietly.
“Oh, really? I feared I might have made it quite obvious. Jenna at least has been teasing me about it for ages already, though to her I have tried to deny it.”
“Well, when it comes to things like these, I really need it spelled out for me. With you, I just thought you were being kind and friendly with me,” I explain and finally lift my gaze to meet E’s eyes, with an embarrassed smile on my lips.
“And to answer your question: yes, you can. Kiss me, I mean. If you still want to,” I say feeling a bit nervous again, but this is different kind of nervousness. Good kind that makes butterflies fly in my stomach instead of earlier panic that made me freeze. I try to turn my face away, but E gently grabs a hold of my chin and lifts my face so that I’m looking in his eyes.
“I definitely still want to,” he growls, just before he presses his lips against mine. Our first kiss is sweet, gentle and absolutely too short in my opinion. I’m embarrassed by the desperate little noises I make when E pulls back, but he just smiles adoringly at me and pulls me to sit closer to the edge of the table. Now E is standing between my thighs and our chests are almost touching. Then he leans closer and kisses me again, this time more passionately. He also lets his hands to wander around my body. The kiss just goes on and I lose all track of time. I feel like I’m in Heaven.
I crash back to reality, when I realize that E’s wandering hands are sliding up my thighs and under the legs of the shorts I’m wearing. My whole body tenses, I break the kiss and then, reacting instinctively again, I grab a tight hold of his wrists to stop his hands. I keep staring at our hands to avoid looking at E, because I’m afraid of what his expression might tell me.
“What’s the matter?” E asks, confused by the sudden turn of events.
“I want… so much,” I close my eyes, hoping it would make it easier to get the words out, “ ...to do so many things with you… But it feels like everything is happening so fast. And I don’t usually do things like this. So I’m a bit nervous.”
‘A bit nervous’ is probably the understatement of the year, because honestly I feel almost like paralyzed by fear. I have been dreaming about something like this happening with E for so long, but never believed that it could come true. So now that against all my expectations it is happening, I’m afraid I might ruin everything by doing or saying something wrong. But at the same time, I’d really like us to slow down.
“It’s ok, we don’t have to hurry. We have all the time in the world,” E assures me. “And I’m not expecting anything,” he continues, probably guessing what I was trying to say with my disorganized rambling.
I slowly loosen the death grip I have of E’s wrists, and he lifts his hands to rub gently my shoulders.
“I hope you know that we don’t have to do anything you don’t want to,” he says solemnly. I nod, because I do know that. And I trust E to listen to me and respect my wishes. I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t. So I can’t really explain why I’m still behaving like this.
“Good,” E sighs and pulls me in a hug. He rubs my back and slowly I start to relax again.
“I kind of liked the kissing though,” I whisper playfully to his ear.
“Oh, really?” I can hear the teasing smile in his voice and then he pulls back just enough that I can see it too.
“You know what? I kind of liked it too. So I guess we could just keep doing that then,” he continues and gives me one long sweet kiss. “But how about if we move this to the couch? There we might both get a bit more comfortable.”
I nod and push myself down from the table. I manage to take only a couple of steps towards the living room before I feel E’s arms wrap around my waist and his body pressing against my back.
“E!, What are you doing? We can’t walk like this,” I ask laughing.
“Too bad, because I’m not letting you go. I want to have you as close as possible, now that I can.”
Walking like that with my sprained ankle isn’t easy, but slowly we fumble to the living room. On our way there, E starts to pepper my neck and the side of my face with small kisses, which quickly turn to more heated ones when he notices that I clearly enjoy them. When we get to the couch, E sits down first and pulls me to sit on his lap.
“Now, where were we…?” he ask flirtatiously and I lean in for another kiss.
***
I have totally lost a track of time again since we got onto this coach. We have spent the evening alternating between intensive snogging and talking about anything and everything. At some point we have moved to laying on the coach side by side. At the moment E has propped himself up on his other elbow and he’s looking down at me. E seems incapable of keeping his hands off of me and so his other hand is running gently up and down my arm and side. He’s obviously thinking something.
“Do you always go silent and distant when you’re nervous?” he finally asks.
I’m quite taken aback by the fact that he’s paid so much attention to me that he has noticed that.
“Yeah, I guess so. Most of the time at least. Or maybe in certain situations,” I try to explain. “I don’t do it on purpose, but if I feel like I don’t know what I should do or say, I freeze and am incapable of doing anything.”
“Ok, that’s good to know. Is there anything particular that makes you feel that way?”
“Some times new or unexpected things make me nervous. Most of the time it’s because I’m not sure what other people are expecting of me. Or I might feel that I should do one thing but I’d actually really want to do something else and I’m unable to decide between them. And if there is someone waiting for me to answer, that added pressure doesn’t really help me think at all, so I end up freezing even harder. It feels like my brain is running overdrive but at the same time not a single thought is moving in my brain.”
E leans down and kisses me gently on my cheek.
“I hope that you would always feel comfortable to tell me what you want instead of what you think you should say or what you feel I’m expecting or wanting to hear.”
“I know. I promise I’ll try at least,” I mumble against E’s chest. Then a thought suddenly occurs to me.
“By the way, what time it is?”
E looks at his watch.
“Oh crap, it’s already past eleven.”
“Is it really that late already? Don’t you have to go to work tomorrow? Maybe I should head back to the hotel,” I say and sit up. E quickly follows me and puts his hands on my hips.
“Please, don’t go yet,” he pleads and kisses me on my shoulder. “You could even… maybe stay here for the night?” he suggests carefully.
I can feel a few tendrils of nervousness begin to rise within me after E’s suggestion, but they are nowhere near as overpowering as the ones earlier in the day. I’m definitely not against the idea, but at the same time I feel a bit apprehensive.
“Hmm, I don’t know,” I say hesitantly, “I don’t even have my pyjamas here.”
“I could borrow you something to sleep in,” E quickly counters my argument. “And if it makes you feel better, I could even sleep on the couch.  I just want to spend as much time with you as possible.”
I lean against E’s chest and he patiently waits for me to take a stock of how I’m feeling about this idea. On the other hand, going back to the hotel would be sticking to the plan, and in some sense a safe option. It’s what I was expecting to happen tonight. But on the other hand, I would actually really want to stay here. Finally I come to a conclusion.
“Ok,” I say and press a quick kiss on E’s lips. “But I stay on the couch.”
“I’m fine with anything, if it means that you’ll stay,” E breathes and pulls me into a hug.
***
Later that evening E offers to give another shirt of his, but I decide that I can sleep in the clothes I’m already wearing. The mechanics of his sofa bed are quite stiff, and E struggles somewhat to get it open, but in the end we manage to make me quite a comfy looking bed for the night. I feel slightly awkward when E kisses me good night and leaves me alone in the living room, but I try my best to get comfortable in my bed.
I keep tossing and turning, but there is something bothering me and preventing me from falling asleep. I realize that I feel disappointed with the current situation somehow. In the end, I come to the conclusion that staying on the couch was still a safe option and I was too afraid to do as I really wanted earlier. In a fit of determination I throw off my blanket and limp to E’s door. After a careful knock he opens the door wearing only boxer briefs. I hadn’t considered about that and the sight makes my brain short-circuit and most of my determination disappear.
“I-I was thinking… maybe I could… after all…” I stumble and gesture towards his bed.
“Do you want to sleep here?” E asks.
I can only nod. E takes a hold of my hand and leads me to his bed. We lay down, and E turns off his table lamp. Then he wraps his arms around me and pulls me close to him.
“I’m sorry I made you pull out the sofa bed for nothing,” I whisper into the darkness.
“Hey, it’s ok, you just needed a bit more time to think this through. And you’re always allowed to change your mind, I don’t mind that. Especially if it means that I get to have you here with me,” E whispers to my ear and then kisses my cheek. “Now, let’s sleep.”
“Alright. Good night.”
“Good night.”

you make my dreams
i’ve got the Have a Great Day! playlist on Spotify playing. it is infectiously cheerful.
you know, for someone who has only been to NYC once in their entire lives, i sure do write a lot about it.
like pretty sure i could write a travel guide on it by now.
also hi! it’s been a minute.
this week has been uh... interesting.
on saturday, my grandma, who has alzheimer’s, went missing for 3 hours while she was at my cousin’s house.
let me tell you.
SCARED THE HELL OUT OF US.
police found her, brought her back safely, and she had a big stack of waffles for breakfast.
let me tell you a thing, friends. if you ever have a relative or a loved one with Alzheimer’s wander and get lost, call Medic Alert Safe Return’s emergency line (800-625-3780) and report it.
even if they aren’t enrolled in the program, MASR will help you out.
i have to keep telling myself that even the most prepared caregivers are capable of losing their loved ones.
sigh. so i spent all day saturday trying to get a hold of the situation. my cousin lives in LA and my grandma is there for a little bit.
i still had to work, so that was... fun.
i sobbed in between calls and vented to folks in the moment
but hey, wow, everything turned out okay and we are all eternally grateful for that.
i love my grandma so much.
on sunday, my mom, my sister, and i went to a flea market to try and do something together and put saturday behind us.
i wanted to buy ALL the colored bottles!
i settled for three smaller sized bottles, one red, one green, one blue
oh yeah, since last friday, my blood sugar has been super fucked up
like hit 231 fucked up
every morning i wake up and it’s like 130-155. not good.
so at the flea market, when my sister bought me a sno cone, i had the tiniest bit of cherry syrup on it. it was still good. i like eating ice XD
we all went and got our nails done. i chose a pedicure. i have pretty toes now. i chose a teal color. :)
then we went out for barbeque, which was delicious.
on monday, i spent 2 hours at the DMV
that’s how long it took to get my license renewed
i thought i was going to die there
or i kept picturing that scene from Beetlejuice where he’s waiting to be seen and his number is like two million
i finally managed to go to therapy even though i’ve been avoiding it
my therapist was super nice about writing a letter for my stats class
i’m meeting with disability services tomorrow, so hopefully he sent over that letter
my sister, her friend, and i went to see Deadpool 2 on monday night
i haven’t been to see a movie in the theaters since january
i loved the movie
tuesday, i worked, did homework in between calls, and finished in time to go to trivia
we finished in 6th place, which was not terrible
i’m still surprised i got the question about Axl Rose right
today, i woke up at 7:30, drove to PT, had PT, went to acupuncture, had lunch with my sister, went to the library, paid off fines (why?!), then went to work. it was ridiculously busy.
i took about 22 calls today. -_-
this one lady was so rude.
i just wanted to slap her with a glove made out of knives. or legos.
my tio came over with my cousin and the five of us had dinner
i had tacos :D :D :D
my tio was awesome and fixed a belt in my car and a brake light
i finished my stats homework just in time tonight T_T
i’m so so so glad i didn’t cram all of this unit into one day
tomorrow, i have to meet with disability services at noon
then head out to my endo appointment
which i’m still SUPER nervous about
i’m hoping that tomorrow, i get a chance to sit down and write
i need to update Patreon and then Model and also work on my big bang
and the spideypool fic i started because i have no self control oh god
i STILL want to write Amish!J2
i just don’t have enough time in the day D:
sometimes i wish i could be a professional writer
but i’d only want to write the things i want to write
and i hate deadlines
so....
don’t quit your day job, cal! XD
also, today i got financial aid info from grad school
hoo boy
by the time i graduate, i’ll be about $45,000 in debt from loans
yay, american higher education system!!!
i called up a friend who does financial aid at a university for a living
and she explained how fucked up the system is and how incredible it is that i got a scholarship
that made me feel much better :)
i’m signed up for 13.5 credit hours in the fall, but i’m gonna talk to my advisor and see if i can do 10.5 and still be full time + keep my scholarship + maybe not graduate so late???
my friends gave me fresh flowers last night!
but i didn’t have a vase
so i took a giant plastic water bottle, cut off the top, and voila, vase
yikes this is long
thank you for being here!
let’s have a great rest of the week
oh snap, i should go post the last chapter of post hole diggers...!

Day 130: Bowmore and Laphroaig
Tumblr media
For our second day on Islay, we visited two more of the island's oldest and most prestigious distilleries--Bowmore and Laphroaig. I've already waxed poetic about Laphroaig, arguably the most challenging of all the Islay distilleries and the one that got me into Scotch whisky in the first place. Bowmore, on the other hand, sits proudly at the center of Islay, geographically as well as alcoholically.
We didn't have a car yet, so we took the early morning bus from Port Ellen to the village of Bowmore, which is Islay's administrative center. (But not it's capital--even the entire island put together doesn't constitute a city, so it has to share a council with other nearby islands and mainland villages.)
We had counted on finding a place for breakfast in Bowmore, but it turned out to be more of a challenge than we expected. Still adjusting to the realities of island time, I was surprised by just how limited and unhurried the options were, even in one of the island's biggest, most touristed villages. We eventually settled for a hotel restaurant, where after the better part of an hour we finally received some very tasty, if also very expensive, pancakes and ham.
Tumblr media
It was mainly just me that was stressed out. Jessica and my dad thankfully seemed to be enjoying themselves fully. And once we were fed and staring out over the bay that forms the center of Islay's horseshoe, everything was right with the world again. Relaxation is a skill that requires mindful practice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just outside the hotel, we stepped out onto the beach and admired the view. The distillery was just a block away, and we could clearly see its traditional block-letter signage pointing out into the bay. We also got a lovely view up the village's small main street, which ends at an old round church. According to legend, the church was built that way so that the devil would have no corners to hide in.
We still had some time before the distillery was open for tastings, so we decided to take a stroll around the village. Near the edge of town--just a few blocks away from the center--we came across a grazing field that was home to a miniature horse with a mega hairdo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We made our way up to the church, whose cemetery includes a corner dedicated to unknown sailors killed during World War II.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We saw some other evocative gravestones, too, including one erected by a man in memory of his father, mother, sister, brother, and son, all of whom he had outlived.
Tumblr media
We hadn't booked a tour for Bowmore, so we popped in and headed up to the tasting bar just as they were opening. Along the way, we passed by a proudly presented collection of Bowmore artifacts, including a slowly rotating bottle of the most expensive whisky in the world.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Distilled in 1957, this extravagantly bottled whisky was aged in the barrel for a stunning 54 years. Shortly after the whisky was released, a bottle sold at auction for nearly $200,000.
Tumblr media
There was also a map for visitors to mark where they came from. Clearly we aren't the only Californians with good taste in whisky.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Making our way past the impressive exhibit, we found ourselves with the place pretty much to ourselves. We each got a complimentary tasting of Bowmore 12, which was a nice and well-balanced--still peaty but much less so than the south-coast peat monsters we'd visited yesterday. After flipping through their impressive tasting menu, we settled on one of the flights they had on offer:
No. 1: This is the first of several very similar whiskies we tried on Islay. Made to be light and approachable while still distinctively Islay, our main tasting notes were vanilla and citrus, with a pleasant smoky finish. If you had to pair a Scotch with breakfast, this would be it.
15 Year Darkest: A special-edition whisky that is now being added to Bowmore's core line as Bowmore 15, this whisky has an utterly unique blend of fruity red-wine and peaty maritime flavors. I can see why some people might not like it--purist concerns about caramel coloring and chill-filtering aside--but this was easily one of our favorite whisky discoveries on Islay.
Bowmore 18: Smooth, sweet, and creamy with a long smoky finish, this one was very good as well and my dad's favorite from this tasting.
There were small water pitchers with eyedroppers set out for people who wanted to add it to their whisky, so we decided to experiment. We've found a lot of whiskies become significantly more flavorful with the addition of a single drop of water or two--something about disrupting surface tension and releasing aromatics--but it didn't seem to help with any of the whiskies we tried here.
We were starting to get pretty hungry, so we picked up some sandwiches at the local Co-Op grocery store and enjoyed a picnic on the pier.
Tumblr media
It was here that I finally sampled the Scottish soda Irn Bru. It looks like orange soda, but it isn't. The best comparison we could come up with was that it tastes like an orange creamsicle blended with cough syrup. It's most defining characteristic, however--besides the fact that it contains actual iron--is its unnaturally fluorescent orange coloring. The color is thanks to two controversial colorants that are banned in several other countries.
Tumblr media
Nonetheless, Irn Bru is Scotland's best-selling soft drink, making it one of the few countries in the world not dominated by Coca-Cola.
After lunch, we caught the bus back to Port Ellen, where we ran into our host. She apologized profusely for the lack of wifi, then showed us around the main house, which the guests we’d bumped into on the night we arrived had now left. She had just done a lovely renovation job and was preparing to give the guest house a similar treatment. Like all the locals we'd met so far, she was as friendly and adorable as could be. It was all I could do to drag us away for the two-mile walk out to make our scheduled tour and tasting at Laphroaig.
But when she heard where we were going, our host insisted on driving us there herself. So we all hopped into her tiny old car with her equally friendly and very large three-legged dog.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Along the way, she recommended a friend of hers that makes fruit wines, including a wine made from Rhubarb--Jessica's favorite. We made a note to pick some up from the store later. (Spoiler alert: As much as we wanted to love it, we really, really didn't.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As we walked into Laphroaig, we were immediately delighted by a literal wall of tweets. As part of their 200th anniversary in 2015, Laphroaig sent out a call for fans to describe their favorite Laphroaig whisky in their own words
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The results speak for themselves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Inside the visitor center, we got to browse through a nice little museum while we waited for our tour to begin. The tour included a very thorough and interesting look at each stage of whisky production.
Tumblr media
Laphroaig is one of the few Islay distilleries that still malts its own barley, so we really did get to see the whole procedure. We got to see the large rooms where moistened, heated barley is spread out to germinate for several days, generating the sugars that will get fermented into alcohol.
During this process, the barley needs to be shifted regularly to ensure the best results. According to our guide, this is where the term "work shift" actually originated, since they needed teams of people to shift the barley day and night.
Tumblr media
And because we were between maltings, we actually got to climb inside the chamber where the malted barley is smoked. This chamber sits directly below the distinctive pagoda chimney that many Scotch distilleries have. The the pagoda design was popularized in the late 1800s and has become so iconic that new distilleries still build pagoda chimneys even though they don't even malt their own barley.
Tumblr media
Downstairs, our guide showed us the furnace that fires the peat smoke, as well as the traditional tools used to cut peat in the field.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next, we saw the fermentation and distillation rooms, which offered a striking juxtaposition of old and new. The fermentation process room is filled with computer terminals and stainless steel tanks, but the distillation still takes place in the traditional copper pot stills.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And rightly so. Much of the whisky's flavor is determined simply by the shape of the still. Different shapes and sizes of stills will generate different types and proportions of flavor chemicals. The stills are so sacred that they are pretty much maintained at any cost, and we could see the seams where they've been patched over and over again, Ship of Theseus style to ensure that the unique character of the distillery's whisky is never lost.
Tumblr media
Some of the stills were resting, and we got to peak in and the machinery inside one of them.
Tumblr media
The last stop of the tour was the barrel room. There was a much more exclusive tasting group going on, though, so we had to be quick.
The tour over, it was time for tasting. We had been given mini tasting glasses--much like the ones we'd gotten from Ardbeg--as well as clever lanyard for carrying them in. Each of our lanyards came with three small alligator clips that we could spend as tokens at the tasting bar. Basic whiskies cost one token each, special whiskies cost two, and the extra-special whiskies cost three.
The three of us pooled our tokens together, netting us the widest tasting sample of any distillery we visited:
Quarter Cask: This was and still is my favorite Laphroaig. We had one token left after getting as many whiskies as we could that we hadn't tried before, so I spent the last token on this one. Powerfully peaty with as exactly as much iodine as I can stand, this is the quintessential Islay whisky. The name is derived from the fact that this whisky is aged in smaller barrels, doubling the relative contact area between the whisky and the wood for and giving the whisky a stronger oak influence to balance out the medicinal flavors.
Select: Laphroaig's take on a light, entry-level whisky. This one had strong vanilla notes as well as the usual citrus. Very drinkable, but not the kind of whisky we came to Islay for.
Four Oak: Aged in a mix of four different barrel types, this whisky is promoted as complex, woody whisky. It smelled delightfully fresh, and we thought for sure that if there was any Laphroaig that Jessica would like, it would be this one. But when it came time to the tasting, we discovered it to be a powerful punch of intense smoke and dark earth, with a long-lingering aftertaste.
Lore: A mix of whiskies from five different casks and aged from seven to twenty-one years, Lore is billed as the richest, most complex member of the core Laphroaig range. It smelled like a peat bog in a glass, and we thought for sure that Jessica would hate it. But we were wrong. Ironically, the Lore tasted as smooth as the Four Oak smelled. I still think that the Quarter Cask is my favorite, but Lore could give it a strong challenge.
Cairdeas 15: Our last whisky was the three-token Cairdeas, which is Gaelic for "friendship." Released annually in limited editions for the Friends of Laphroaig club, it is aged entirely in first-fill bourbon barrels that give it a strong and flavorful bourbon twist.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After admiring the tweet wall for a good while on our way out, we enjoyed another beautiful sunny walk home. And since it was only a mile and we hadn't spent the entire day walking, we really did enjoy it!
Back home, we enjoyed another relaxing evening and did our best to fight off the incipient tremors of wifi withdrawal. Tomorrow, we would be getting a rental car and exploring the less-traveled roads of Islay's Atlantic coast.
Next Post: Kilchoman, Bruichladdich, and the Atlantic Coast
Last Post: Ardbeg and Lagavulin

Last weekend we decided to leave the city and head to a cabin in northeastern PA on Paupackan Lake. It was my birthday, I had been locked away at home since March, and Philly’s protests were leading to a lot of stress. Recently I’ve been worried about the interplay between the movement for Black Lives and the COVID-19 pandemic. I don’t want the uprising to stop and I am worried about everyone in the streets becoming infected with the virus.
A Victoria sponge.
Samer made a very classic Victoria sponge cake with homemade strawberry jam from Lebanon. We ate some for breakfast and then made our way out of the city. I wanted to try some road food on the way, so I remember hearing about a famous hot dog place in Allentown. My friend Dennis told me to skip it and make our way over to Easton and try Jimmy’s Hot Dogs. It’s a cash-only place in a strip small, and I thought it was great. It’s pretty simple, you get a good hot dog on a bun with mustard and a full pickle spear. I skipped the onions. That’s the entire thing. If you like a good hot dog and are in Easton, PA, you should check it out. I had 2! The (very) big dude behind us in line ordered 9. Sam is sure that he ordered for a family. I’m skeptical.
On our way to the cabin at 111 West Shore Drive, I typed in the wrong address. I typed in something like 11 North Shore Drive. We pulled in to a drive that did not look like the picturesque cabin that we saw on Airbnb. It was more of a bayou setting. Trailers very close to the water, lots of trucks, and at least 2 dudes with rat tails and or mullets. Pulling up, I was a little nervous about how a gay couple in a Mini Cooper was going to be received. We couldn’t get reception, and I was a bit of a nervous wreck. A toned-down, Joe Exotic stopped to ask us if we needed anything, but we said we were figuring it out. Moments later, a cop pulled up behind us. I was convinced these dudes had called the police on us. Samer assured me that the police in this area were not that efficient, but I wanted to bounce as soon as possible. All I kept thinking was that we stumbled onto a meth operation, and this small-town police is running a protection racket. Admittedly, my imagination probably got away from me.
Wrong Location -> Correct Location
We drove until we got cellular reception and then realized we were 20 minutes away from Paupackan Lake. We made our way over and were so happy when we arrived. I was not working that day, but my lead for the last few years retired that day, and I was one of the emcees for his Zoom retirement party. The cabin had terrible reception, so we drove up to the volunteer fire department parking lot where we could find LTE with 3 bars. We celebrated Dave and I made a few jokes. It was a tough week to do any joke writing, so I think it was my B-game. Certainly not my A-game. Also, being funny on Zoom is brutal. There is absolutely no feedback. I really feel for every comedian trying to make it work right now. That being said, all reports said he enjoyed it.
Sunset on Paupackan Lake
Ok, back to my birthday weekend. On Friday night, we split a bottle of wine and watched the sunset from the dock. It was very peaceful and felt a million miles away from the chaos of the quarantine or the intensity of the anti-racist uprising happenings. We made cod, garlic scapes, and a tomato and mozzarella salad for dinner. It was so delicious. Falling asleep was delightfully comfortable and quiet. There were no explosions from fireworks, psy-ops, or ATMs blowing up. There were no lights from all of the city’s light pollution and my phone was on airplane mode in my bag.
On Saturday, Sam continued the birthday celebration by making me biscuits & gravy. This is my favorite dish from Ohio that does not exist in the east. I could pass on most Midwestern recipes, but this south to the midwest breakfast is so goddamn good. I love sausage gravy. How could you not, but the truth is, this best biscuits & gravy I’ve ever had was at the Portland, OR farmers market in 2009, and it was made with brown mushroom gravy. It was delicious. Sam decided to make a mushroom gravy. It was terrific and as good as  sausage gravy. While he cooked, I meditated on the dock and was lucky enough to see a bald eagle skimming the lake’s surface.
The dock of our cabin.
We kayaked around the lake for about 2 hours after breakfast. There is a lot of marshland that you can skirt and see birds on Paupackan. On our way home, the wind picked up, and the paddle back was much more tiring than when we started. We spent the rest of the afternoon, napping and reading. Samer escaped to the hammock, and I really got into my book. I’m reading The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. I am not a fantasy genre lover, but I am enjoying it.
A little dragonfly
For dinner, Samer made the best pork chop I’ve ever had. He made a sauce from red wine, apple butter, and apple cider vinegar. We paired it with a Cabernet Sauvignon and finished the birthday cake. It was a fantastic meal.
Waking up on Sunday meant that the weekend had already passed. Ugh, I loved the cabin. It’s difficult to describe how loved nature, the lack of connectivity, and the simplicity of everything. We decided to check out Lake Wallenpaupack before we left. That’s a vast and famous lake in the area.
We stopped by one marina and decided to check out the Lacawac Sanctuary on our way home, but on the drive, our tire went flat. We have drive-flat tires, so we limped to a gas station about 5 miles away only to discover our entire tire had completely blown out and was destroyed. We don’t know what happened. Maybe it was a little low, and the road’s curve hit it just right, but there was no saving it. I walked to the Advanced Auto Parts, where they told me the only tire guy open on a Sunday was M&J Tires. We drove another 8 miles on a flat and started getting nervous as we left the main road to see more Trump-Pence signs. If this guy didn’t have a tire, where in the hell were we stranded?
We pulled up to the tire shop and were met by 2 monster trucks flanking the entrance. No one came to meet us. I surmised the one person not fidgeting with a tire may be the customer in front of me. I asked her who was in charge and she pointed me to a guy named Mike in the back of the shop. He was not much for chatting and told me he’d be with me in 5 minutes. To an outsider, this scene may be overwhelming, but my life in rural Ohio prepared me for this. A big shop, lots of tires inside, outside, outback, on their sides, in racks, etc. and a dude who is not good with small talk or business formalities. I’ve got this.
At this point, we realized our cell phones were not getting any signal. Our Mini Cooper has a weird tire size, and my guess was that neither foreign cars nor gay couples with at least one foreign-born member frequented the shop. When Mike asked me about the car, I was frank, “I don’t know, man. I just drive it.” I knew I was setting myself up to get ripped off, but I was 130 miles from home.
Mike is a totally nice guy. He replaced my tire in a few minutes and then only charged me $45 for a new tire. I tipped well, and we made our way home.
I had a wonderful birthday, and it was so great to take the weekend to leave town. We maintained social distancing, enjoyed some nature, and utterly unplugged. I loved it, I appreciated it, and want to go back very soon.
My Birthday Weekend Last weekend we decided to leave the city and head to a cabin in northeastern PA on Paupackan Lake…

A Guide to San Gil – the Adventure Capital of Colombia
A Little about San Gil
For a small city San Gil is significantly mighty. Within the journey world it is named a mecca to get your adrenaline repair. It’s a type of cities that as quickly as you get there you realise you’ll need to spend longer. The combination of getting a quaint colonial 300-year-old city sq. with the acute sports activities of white water rafting, rapelling, paragliding and way more makes this city successful with all vacationers.
The energetic environment of travellers means you’ll be able to sit on the finish of the day, seize a scrumptious chunk to eat and sip a drink (or many) when you’re nonetheless buzzing with the excessive of adrenaline!
Canyoning
The craze of Canyoning caught on for folks wanting journey anyplace on this planet. It’s the final afternoon out, the tour takes you to a canyon close to San Gil the place you spend the 5 hours climbing, rappelling, leaping off and descending down monumental waterfalls and 40 meter cliffs of the canyon. The views when you are doing this are unbelievable, the cliffs have a lush rainforest poured over its floor and you may see into the tree cover as you make your approach down the rock faces. You even have the chance to swim within the pure swimming pools all close to the canyon. That is run by a tour firm information with experience in each ingredient of the afternoon, to make sure all the pieces is safely and professionally accomplished.
Value: 75,000 COP ($25 USD)
Time: permit 5 hours
Suggestions: Deliver a towel, a spare pair of garments and one thing heat incase you get chilled, there is perhaps an opportunity you haven’t bought one of the best climate for this exercise. I might additionally recommend bringing meals. They often do make a pitstop for meals however not each time.
Adrenaline stage: 4
Rappelling
The canyoning is all good and properly however for the true present, the last word in rappelling must be at Juan Curi waterfall in San Gil. Relying on the season Juan Curi could be ferocious, notably with latest rainfall. It’s actually a as soon as in a lifetime expertise hanging 60 ft within the air whereas an unlimited waterfall roars down beside you with everybody beneath you want ants.
Value: 75,000 COP ($25)
Time: Enable 2 hours
Suggestions: An additional pair of garments, towels and meals. You get soaked by means of by the tip of the rappel and its most likely finest to have one thing heat incase it will get colder as there’s some ready spherical concerned.
Adrenaline stage: 6
Paragliding
Theres nothing like operating in the direction of a drop that’s 2000m excessive to essentially get the adrenaline pumping. The science behind paragliding makes use of the thermals of the canyons and mountains round you to glide within the air and achieve top all whereas the parachute is strapped to your again. Science to the aspect, I spent my time with my abdomen always dropping to my ft with each look down into the underside of the canyon. Subsequent was the suggestion of acrobatics through which you ascend right into a flurry of spinning mountains going previous you and being flailed left to proper with the pull of the parachute. It was superb!
In San Gil there are two choices for paragliding, the primary at Chimamocha Canyon. The flight lasts 30-minutes and is the extra fashionable, it’s thought of among the best paragliding websites on this planet primarily based on the proper thermals and the shortage of the rain. Nonetheless for those that get journey sick simply, it might not be one of the best thought as plenty of folks really feel nauseous on flight! We had a full 5 minutes in our well being and security temporary on precisely what to do in case you do find yourself being sick mid-flight! So with this in thoughts there’s additionally a second choice, a shorter flight being round 12-minutes at Curtiti. In case you are additionally pressed for time this can be a nice choices as a result of its a 45-minute drive quite than the two hour drive it takes to get to Chimamocha Canyon.
Chimamocha Canyon:
Value: 150, 000 COP ($50)
Time: Enable 6 hours
Suggestions: Deliver suncream, regardless of the parachute you’re uncovered to sturdy UV rays in flight. You even have a cease off on the way in which to seize some lunch so don’t fear about food and drinks. Your entire occasion takes round 6 hours, that’s together with the journey there, the well being and security temporary and the flight.
Adrenaline stage: 7
Curtiti:
Value: 60,000 COP ($20)
Time: Enable 3-Four hours
Suggestions: Take suncream. Being excessive up you’re uncovered to the solar rays, it takes about three hours relying on wait instances and journey, so simply sufficient time for the solar to trigger hurt.
Adrenaline stage: 6
White Water Rafting
Little question you will notice Rio Fonce strolling across the outskirts of the San Gil, it’s the predominant river that runs beside the city. Rio Fonce is a lovely river to paddle alongside and white water rafting could be accomplished by youngsters or weaker swimmers on its calmer waters. It’s classed as ‘class 2 or 3’ within the water water rafting world, 1 being the best 5 being the toughest. This makes it an ideal introduction to white water rafting and water sports activities normally for learners or the marginally extra nervous.
In case you are wanting one thing nonetheless that will get your adrenaline going the river can be Rio Suarez, which is usually the extra fashionable choice in San Gil. These are class 5 rapids which imply they’re among the most difficult you will get! The Spanish and English talking tour information assist and gives data on how the river works, the native geography and the guiding of the boat by means of the currents and rocks. All of the gear together with insurance coverage for the exercise is included within the worth by the tour supplier. The rapids of Rio Saurez additionally embody an excellent lunch, water and snacks for the day.
Rio Fonce:
Value: 35,000 ($12)
Time: permit simply over 2 hours
Suggestions: You’re in a ship and going to get splashed. I’d suggest carrying swim put on and sports activities garments. When you’ve got waterproof sandals that may be splendid, if not know that sports activities footwear could take time to attempt after this exercise. You’re close to a river, so I might suggest insect repellent. Whereas not important a towel or one thing heat to vary into on the finish. You’ll most likely get splashed and if the climate isn’t nice you might get chilly hanging spherical on the finish.
Adrenaline stage: 4
Rio Sauraz:
Value: 130, 000 COP ($45)
Time: permit 5 hours
Suggestions: With class 5 rapids you will get drenched! I’d suggest carrying swim put on and sports activities garments. When you’ve got waterproof sandals that may be splendid, if not know that sports activities footwear could take time to attempt after this exercise however thats one of the best subsequent choice. Being close to a river insect repellent can be a good suggestion. You’ll little doubt be drenched and a journey again in moist garments is rarely very good! I might strongly suggest a change of garments and a towel, for a cushty journey again.
Adrenaline stage: 8
Bungee Leap
Little question the largest attraction for the adrenaline junkie, the bungee leap. San Gil provides the most important bungee leap in Colombia at 70 meters excessive! Trying up on the platform a couple of frequent ‘It doesn’t look too excessive’ had been uttered. However there was no denying it, feeling the power of the wind rising, slowly with the ability to see the encompassing cover and with birds circling subsequent to you quite than above you, even in case you don’t look down, you’re properly conscious you’re very excessive. Being cranked up 70 meters above the noisy Rio Fonce beneath the nerves properly and actually kick in, irrespective of how powerful you are feeling.
Bungee leaping just isn’t for the faint hearted but it surely’s a type of bucket listing actions that may’t be missed. As a plus this Bungee is good for people who find themselves tight on time because it’s a ten minute taxi from the city sq. to the crane, you’ll be able to tick it off your bucket listing in lower than 45 minutes!
Value: 60,000 COP ($20)
Time: 1 hour
Suggestions: The harness is tight to your waist, don’t put on small garments because the harness could pull in your pores and skin round your waist. I’d advise sports activities leggings and a prime for girls. Oh and when you’re up there, simply leap!
Adrenaline stage: 9
Suggestions for San Gil
San Gil is a Eight hour bus journey from Bogota or alternatively a 7 hour bus journey from Santa Marta, make sure that to plan your time in, my information to touring Colombia can assist with this. There are lots of selections of very nice, eating places all dotted across the centre of San Gil. Nonetheless there are good supermarkets with plenty of alternative which means that saving cash on meals is definitely accomplished in San Gil. Take a look at my information to cooking healthily on a funds whereas on the street to save lots of much more whereas your touring!
There are many hostels and inns that cater to each funds in San Gil, the go to hostel is Sams VIP hostel. Whereas the bedrooms aren’t 5 stars, it has a pool, a unbelievable frequent space together with a balcony overlooking the colonial sq. centre and a pool. All with a free breakfast thrown on the worth I might suggest this to my associates, so in fact, I might suggest it to you guys studying as properly! Once you want to do your actions step out your hostel and store round, usually inns and hostels put a ‘deposit’ on the price of the exercise. That is simply 10,000-20,000 COP they’ve chucked on the highest of the associated fee that they preserve.
San Gil is a bus journey away from Santa Marta, which is near one of the best diving in Colombia. If journey and adrenaline are what you’re after, diving in Taganga must be in your itinerary!
Have there been any nice nations you’ve got your adrenaline repair in? In that case, what’s your favorite as soon as in a lifetime expertise to get the adrenaline pumping?
Three years in the past medical doctors in London recognized me with sicknesses that made me so ailing, they stated I might by no means have the ability to journey once more. Regardless of this I utterly turned my life round; food regimen, life-style, train, and perspective to life, I modified all the pieces. These adjustments meant regardless of the physician’s warnings I amazingly recovered from a lifetime of sickness. I now need to present you’ll be able to take advantage of life by means of journey so began The Probability of Selection. I intend to be the primary power sickness story and second documented girl in historical past to journey to each sovereign state. It’s a spot to learn how simple it may be to probably the most of a life touring, experiencing as soon as in lifetime actions whereas staying wholesome and comfortable. Everybody can take advantage of their life it doesn’t matter what you need to do! If you wish to observe my journey you are able to do so on Instagram, Fb, Twitter, Pinterest and YouTube. Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Today was a pretty good day. I spent like 90% of it just sewing. And I honestly deserved that. I am really glad I let myself do that. Just make stuff and not feel guilt over it. I am trying very hard to not feel guilt.
I had accomplished so much yesterday that I shouldn't feel bad but that is always hard.
I slept better last night. And I actually woke up at 830 like I wanted. But I did not get up for an hour. Just enjoyed watching videos on my phone. Waking up slowly.
I had had a very bad nightmare where James was biking and got hit by a car and their spleen ruptured and they bled to death. And this was just to realistic for me and I was at work in my dream and it was just very unsettling. It was good to see their big goofy smile when I woke up.
James made the bed and made me an egg sandwich while I got dressed. I was ready to do stuff. But we had a phone call at 130 with our wedding photographer and so I was desperate to not fall into 'waiting mode'. And so after I had my breakfast I got to work on cutting more fabric.
I finished cutting all my squares while listening to a podcast. And James cut some for me too. I spent forever ironing them. And took some snack breaks. But then I was into sewing world.
I would cut and sew and cut and sew. I know I'm not quilting correctly. I'm not measuring anything. Everything is measure never, cut 30 times. But I was having fun!!
James went to go buy groceries while I stayed here and continued to sew. I had some issues with tension. But I was able to fix it mostly. It kept happening but it was not a horrible pain to fix. I just hated having to keep retreading over and over.
Our phone call got pushed back to 2. And James got home right before that. I finished another line and joined them on the couch.
And Audrey is so nice! Since I reached out to her last year I hadn't spoken to her. James has been handling emails. But she is Charlie's friend and that was good enough for me. But she's really great.
She complimented how thoughtful my answers were. And that made me feel good. And she had some excellent questions and ideas. She made me feel very comfortable and supported. I am excited to work with her.  I am nervous about the number of photos. How to you pick the best 60 out of the thousands you might shoot. I am excited to work with someone who is going to give us the best of the best that really show the day. But also. Scary to trust someone. And like since she's going to let us go through all of them I'm sure we can always get more from the entire set but also. Ahh. Scary.
But she was great. And it put me in a good mood.
And so once we were off the call I went back to my sewing.
I played with sewing cotton inside the blanket. But it didn't work with my machine and I ended up tearing big holes in my material. Disappointing. But I fixed it and I'm just going to sew lines all over it to give it that structure. This was just for fun so it doesn't matter much.
I took a break from that and started playing with the better colors James had cut for me. And played with sewing in half to make triangles. They are not even at all but it was fun. I tried to puzzle them together. I want to keep trying new things and maybe make an actual quilt that is nice someday.
I did this under the sun went down. Sewing and cutting and ironing. My shoulders were burning. I took a little time to lay down to calm my back pains down. It helped.
James made us Indian food. I was hungrier then I thought.
But I kept sewing. Sweetp was not being nice to me today and scratched my arm!! He never scratches!! So I was pretty upset. He didn't scratch on purpose I think. His nails just need to be cut. But he was angry with me and I don't know why.  He calmed down after I squeezed him for a bit and told him he was punished. He a bad boy.
I started working on the pink patch quilt I had started in 2020. I think that's when I started it. But it was fun to get into it again. I hope I can finish it because I like it a lot.
My back was burning though. And so I went and took a bath. Enjoyed just being in the very hot water. And now me and James are in bed.
I am very tired. But tomorrow I have my make up teeth cleaning. I hope it actually happens but also. I hope it doesn't. I don't know. I am not happy to be going back.
But then we are going to go to the zoo. I am excited to see animals.
I hope you all have a great night. Sleep good my friends. Wash your hands!! Also did you hear you can have tiddies on Tumblr again?? Wild. Didn't think I'd see the day.

march: week 4
20: lots of cramping and gas going on lol. well, i rushed in the morning because i stayed in bed 10 minutes after my alarm rang. then the red line had some delays, but i still got to work before 9:30 am, ahah. it was a pretty chill day in the office. i ate lunch at my desk because i had a call when everyone else was eating :< craii. i ordered daniel’s bday present and also managed to print out the amazon return label. i kind of lost fuel one hour before the day ended because of my stomach and cramps, but it’s okay! it happens, haha. i got home at like 5:30 pm and then snacked a bit before doing my 45 minute cardio workout. then i made rice and headed upstairs to shower. i had to bring all of my shower and skin care stuff to the bathroom x__x; it was a nice shower though because the shower head is 2x as strong as ours for some reason. hopefully, that gets fixed too.
kevin got back and we went ot bj’s to pick up croissants. he really wanted them. we devoured two on the way back and then he went to shower while i prepped the veggies. LOL and then i made a mistake where i threw out the white ends of the chives when i wasn’t supposed to and then i took them out of the garbage (was pretty clean) and washed them like 30x times. i was going to lie to kevin about them but then i broke down and told him what happened and he couldn’t stop laughing at me. if baby brain exists does period brain exist too? LOL. kevin finished cooking and then we ate and watched an episode of ‘how to get away with murder.’ then kevin washed the dishes and we headed up to brush our teeth. kevin gamed for the rest of the night and i laid in bed nursing another tension headache until i fell asleep at like 1 am.
21: i woke up with the tension in my neck and shoulder and our shower was still getting fixed so i worked from home. we woke up to the maintenance guys’ knock on the door and they said they would come back in an hour or so because we were still in bed. so then we slept for 30 minutes more and then went upstairs to brush our teeth. the wifi in the suite still didn’t work so kevin sent me the information while he commuted to work. we ate breakfast and then stopped by the front to sign a card and drop off some money for our maintenance and cleaning staff appreciation thingy. then i headed upstairs and changed and brought my stuff to the suite to work. i recorded some videos and then caught up with phil. i got the ‘ok’ to start implementing some of my changes. i’m so excited! then i ate lunch and looked at headsets. i realized that kien and haowei are getting pro gamer headsets LOL. cole suggested the arctis 5 and i might get it. we’ll see.
i went back down to the apartment and finished editing videos and ended my day with a call. then i washed dishes, put on rice, snacked on a croissant, and did an hour workout focusing on obliques. kevin came home a bit later than expected because he was working on a problem. i went to shower while kevin cooked dinner. he got really dried out and tired while cooking so he went to shower after cooking while i watched ‘reign’ and tried catching a good tapu koko. i’m hoping to catch a tapu every other time i game LOL. i didn’t catch one at the end of the day though. we ate and watched two? episodes of ‘how to get away with murder’ and then kevin washed dishes and then we brushed our teeth together upstairs. i finished watching ‘reign’ in bed and then went to sleep at 1:15 am? kevin stayed up debating stock market things or something ahah.
22: i actually didn’t need to rush in the morning. i got dressed before brushing my teeth because i had to go upstairs to the suite to brush my teeth and then ate breakfast and i was on the train at 8:34 am! i met sultan for the first time in person and met our new front end dev, joe today. it was a really quiet office -- only the marketing team and product team were in the office. it was a productive morning. i ordered the arctis 7 in white for my headset for work and then i worked on tutorials. everyone online was busy so i just worked and listened to music. the day went by pretty quickly. we scrambled at the end of the day because of an issue that we really needed to solve together. it was fun doing that and figuring it out. i left at like 5:15 pm after cleaning up things with phil for the client and then i met kevin at the train station :) he made it just in time to get on the train!
i told him about my day and when we got back, i watched ‘jane the virgin’ while trying to catch a good tapu koko. i was close twice but one wasn’t timid nature and the other didn’t have perfect speed :< my hand was cramping so i quit and i cleaned up the bathroom. kevin made stir fry potato slivers and braised chicken with mushrooms for dinner. mmm. the potatoes were hella spicy but when we put more salt, it tasted better. we watched 3 episodes? of ‘how to get away with murder.’ there’s so much sex this season .__. LOL but we’re getting to the good part now. we stopped so i could exercise. oh, our water pressure for the shower is perfect now! it’s waay stronger. kevin took a nice long shower and after my workout, i cleaned the kitchen. i got irritated at kevin for not vacuuming when i asked him to and when he did it, it was half-heartedly. :/ but he cooked today and he just showered so i just re-vacuumed spots and swiffered the floors before showering. i was still a bit irritated but it was dumb to get mad at him for it. so i waited for him to finish up gaming and then went to sleep when he did :)
23: i almost forgot my lunch today but i went back and got on the later train because the train just left as i got on the platform ;( i shared the weird tasting totaste green tea biscuits in the office and steve’s reaction was the best. everyone else said it was alright. diego surprised me and said it tasted like olive oil and he wasn’t disgusted at all. hmmm. oh, diego came into the office without me bothering him to come in :P yay! i was pretty productive today. i had a few long meetings, but it was alright. i ended my day with a meeting that kind of went over in time so i had to jump off, pack up, and then go to the chocolate shop with cole. i got chocolate covered gummy bears and dark chocolate peanut butter cups. cole bought the gummy bears for me because of all the snacks i’ve given him -- thanks bro! T^T i made it to south station 2 minutes later than kevin -- i broke my winning streak ;( ahaha.
we got home and played pokemon and cuddled and watched tv while the rice cooked. we made super easy omurice and then continued watching tv and gaming. mmm. it felt like a friday. we stopped at around 11 pm, kevin washed the dishes, and i did 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of back workout (15 minutes with dumb bells). idk if it’s gonna work because maybe the weights are too light? we’ll see. then i showered and ko’d in bed. mm i wish it was friday, but i’m also working from home tomorrow so nbd! i also caught a pretty good tapu koko! tapu lele is so hard to catch T^T my next challenge... p.s. i love talking and hanging out with everyone at t7. everyone is great and so funny. i’m so grateful.
24: my upper back was in so much pain when i woke up, ahha. kevin got up later than usual because i was still in bed (wfh). :) i got myself up eventually and then made breakfast and recorded videos. i also weighed myself in the morning and i don’t talk about this a lot but i’m so happy and proud of myself for pushing myself physically and getting to my body/health goals, BUT this morning i was 117/118 lbs and 19.7% body fat. yaaaasssss! my “previous goals” were to lose all the weight i gained (i was at like 130 lbs last year), and then get to 20% body fat. my now goal is to maintain this body fat or if i’m feeling bored, go further without changing my diet so it’s solely dependent on how hard i work out. it feels so good to eat whatever i want and stop when i know it’s too much and then work it off and get stronger. i’ve stopped being so dependent on calorie counting and just knowing what foods and portion sizes are good for me. i think i’m pretty close to having a good understanding of how much i should eat everyday and what it will do to my body. i’m getting there and i’m always learning about myself and about food of course ;D
anyway, then i ate lunch and ate some chocolate. mmm these dark chocolate peanut butter cups are the best. i talked to cole and dropped some food knowledge while he had some down time haha. phil told me to take the day easy after 3 pm because sultan and byron had off time today. so that’s what i did! i recorded 5 videos (record!) and then spent a good amount of time uploading pictures on facebook. i took a day off from exercising because my upper back was killing me. instead, i played pokemon for the rest of the day with kevin. we cuddled on the couch while watching tv and playing pokemon the rest of the night. we didn’t even cook dinner because kevin had happy hour and ate sliders and wings so i just baked some chicken nuggets. we took a break to shower and then play some more in bed and then went to sleep pretty late...like at 3:30 am or something...LOL
25: kevin woke up earlier than me and made breakfast. by “earlier” i mean like he woke up at 11 am and i got up at 1 pm LOL. it was a cloudy day so i didn’t feel like recording my 2min showcase... i skipped the meal because i felt full and we went to the movies to get tickets to see ‘logan.’ the 7:20 pm time was totally booked and same with ‘get out’ so we got tickets for ‘logan’ tomorrow at 7:20 pm. :) then we drove over to ‘oh my tea’ and i got the pudding, grass jelly, and boba milk tea drink (this is my second favorite drink there, especially for like a dessert kind of day) and kevin got the strawberry lemonade. i didn’t like his drink. Dx we devoured our drinks before we even got back home. well, kevin finished as we walked into the apartment... kevin tried making general tso’s chicken...it was a spicy af half failure -- tasted too salty and not sweet enough. the spice was too much as well...
while kevin did this, i nluu proofed our kitchen (haha i really enjoyed doing this). then i washed the fleece blankets. we ate, watched some tv, and then kevin left to go climb. i finished getting all of the pokemon in moon though!!! i just need kevin’s kartana -__-” so then i switched over to finally playing ‘bravely default.’ daniel got this game for me for my birthday like forever ago. it was hard getting into it but now i’m hooked. i watched ‘reign’ while playing this and then when kevin got back, we had a quick dinner and tv session and then i continued gaming. i stopped myself at 10 pm to do the intense 60 minute kickboxing video i found a week ago and then showered and continued gaming in bed until 3:30 am again LOL. omg, that work out killed me and reminded me that rest days should be light workout days and not “i’m not going to move anywhere for the whole day” days... the circulation in my legs and arms made me scratch everywhere and it was not pleasant but the work out felt good.
26: we woke up at 12 pm, kevin played pokemon and i played bravely default in bed until 1 pm, kevin made us breakfast, and i recorded my 2min showcase video. i hope it doesn’t turn out too bad? i don’t feel real motivated this week, but i’ll do my best to keep on schedule. then i did some internet errands, figured out our meals for this week, i started laundry, and then we went grocery shopping. we thought we were done early until kevin wanted to get fermented foods for congee and then we forgot to get vanilla mochi.... then we went in circles looking for chocolate syrup at rochebro’s and then we finally made it to bj’s where the express line was kinda long x__x; we made it back, put away all the food, transferred the wet clothing into the dryer, and then kevin realized we forgot to get garlic so he left to get garlic, i washed the dishes and prepped for dinner. luckily, the recipe was quick and we ate before heading out to see “logan.”
whyyyyyyyy?! i cried haha. it was a damn good movie and the little girl is a beast. <3 me and kevin had a semi-argument about character design for females vs male when it comes to “mutants” and things like that on the way back. i folded clothes when we got back, ate the mochi with some chocolate syrup, curled my hair, and then did the 45 minute cardio video. then i showered and brushed my teeth and got into bed. i stayed up until almost 2 am watching videos and waiting for kevin to finish watching the dota game. then kevin woke up at 2:30 am because he couldn’t sleep due to the fact that our upstairs neighbors were blasting music and talking loud af. kevin actually went upstairs and knocked on their door and no one answered... he also sent an email to deco to complain and then he fell asleep with earphones... i think he was listening to dota commentary LOLOL.

I had a really nice day. I had super strange dreams but I didn't sleep horribly. The movie last night was really good. And I felt really happy when we went to sleep.
I had some trouble waking up. And didn't get out of bed until 810. I got up and got myself together. I felt pretty cute. This shirt has such good potential but every time I wear it it has stained my whole torso. Thankfully this time it seems to not have done that.
I left here and went to work. I did not have breakfast. But I had lots to focus on.
I was the first educator there. James let me in and we hung out for a little until Aubrey and Kristen came in.
I spent the first hour showing Aubrey what to check on the tour route, then all three of us set up the roller coaster program. And then we went to wait.
The group was in time and we split into boys group and girls group. I took the boys and they were awesome. I had a really good time giving my tour. Apparently the girls were very chatty but Kristen said her tour was alright.
We ended together in the pharmacy where I gave a brief talk about soda counters and making medicine. The kids had a ton of questions and that was fun. And honestly they were like the perfect 8th grade group and it was lovely to have them.
We took them to lunch next. And James came and joined us and told us more ice cream facts and dazzeled everyone with their big brain. It is always fun listening to them.
The roller coaster program went great. They were super into the whole building part and we had lots of laughs as I made the challenge more and more difficult. I added a hill to the loops! It was fun. I always get anxious over that program because I think I'm not going to have enough to share. But one boy at the end came up to me and told me it was his favorite science class he's ever had. Aw.
There wasn't much clean up to do so we all went up to the offices to start making cans. We made almost a whole box worth! And it was fun just talking. Jessica came up to check on us and check in about program stuff. We all talked about museums things and how they should fold educators into other parts of the museum. Like how I'm going to do farmers market things. They are just going to keep losing people if they don't. Especially since we are so small.
We finished up at 130 and I was happy to go home. I was not as productive as I was hoping. But like. I was happy to be here.
I got changed into soft clothes. The letter stamps I ordered got delivered and I got to try those out. I was very excited. But I hadn't eaten yet and my hands were shaking a little bit.
I had a late lunch and did my knitting. I stood on the fire escape and enjoyed the breeze and warm air.
I cut sweetps nails and watched Frenchy the crawfish eat the moss in his tank. Still working on getting a stick for him. I don't want to just get one from outside because of fear of contaminating the tank. But he is still fun to watch.
I went and laid in the hammock. I thought I would sleep but I did not. My back hurt and laying helped a little but sleep did not come.
James stopped at the craft store for me and got the cutters for Saturday. And when they got home they looked so cute and it was nice having them back here.
James made tomato soup for dinner that was perfect. And it has been mostly just chilling since then. I was to tired to do much else. I need to do more art. More for the market coming up soon. I still have one print for the book and I might touch up a few with the new cutters because they will be so sharp. It's just been hard working so much but also such inconsistent hours.
I painted my nails and took a shower and now we are in bed. I hope I can just sleep easy tonight. I'm leading a cannery tomorrow and I'm not excited but it will be okay.
I hope you all have a great night. Take care of each other. Sleep well! Goodnight!!

So yesterday I woke up at 430 and last night I didn’t go to bed until around then. Amazing. I got like a wave of energy around 10 last night and tried to makes a packing list for my California trip. And then I tried to fix a bag but I messed up and made it worse so I had to start over. Which was annoying. I tried to lay down around 11 but then the fire alarm started going off. At first I thought it was my building but it was echoing over from the building next door. And it literally kept going for over 2 hours. Incredible. No one in that building went outside of anything. So that went on until around 130. I thought I would finish reading the thing I was in the middle of and then go to bed. But I couldn’t get comfortable or I was just awake. Then I was hungry. So I just kept reading. Eventually I did go to sleep. I woke up around 7 and answered some texts and then slept a little longer. I got up and felt real cute. I love my new house dress and it makes me feel really pretty. I got changed into the dress I picked out for my interview. And my makeup looked great today. I’m switching over to my summer products, which are lighter and more waterproof. I had some breakfast. Watched a little tv. I had loaded my portfolio up on my tablet and got ready to go. I went over to main campus first to photograph some of my dioramas. But my camera wouldn’t turn on? I couldn’t figure out why. I thought maybe the batteries but I didn’t have any extra and when I went and asked Don he didn’t have any either. So I took pictures with my phone, and honestly they looked almost better then with my camera. Amazing. Ita cause they’re small and I don’t have a lens for that on my real camera. Whatever it worked. After checking in my my camp manager about training next week I headed to my interview. I have myself more then an hour to get there in case I got lost. It was a nice ride over there. But I did get lost. I actually ended up at hidden beach, where me and Ashlyn went swimming a few times last year. I figured out where I was supposed to be though. But I still had a half hour. So I biked back over to the nearby lake and sat. Watched the water. Then I headed to the book store next door to the art studio. But I was to anxsious so I went back to the lake and sat on the dock. i liked that best because I could watch the fish. I walked back over to the art studio and went in. The place is super cute. The woman/owner, Amanda, is great. She’s a bright and bubbly person. She was a lot of fun to talk to. There was another lady there who was a visiting artist which was cool. We talked about sewing. Amanda had to go out and move her car at one point because the tow people came in and said they would have to take her car if she didn’t move it right then. The interview went great though. We talked about my art, their program, the types of jobs and time frames. She was totally cool about working with my wonky schedule. She said she liked my vibe and energy and so I’m staring on friday! And I get to work a booth for them on Saturday at the walker reopening . And!!! There’s a diorama competition and she wanted to hire me to make one for them to enter! We’re going to do that on Friday. I’m really excited. I was thrilled when I left. I biked and it didn’t take long at all to get back, now that I knew where I was. I got home. And was happy and sort of sweaty. But mostly happy. I made a really good sandwich for lunch. And did a little cleaning. I spent a lot of time reading and wathing tv this afternoon though. Just resting. Tomorrows my last day off so I’m going to try to get my apartment really clean and get some other work done. Just enjoy myself. I’m really really excited about my new job. I really hope I can get to bed at a normal time tonight. Its hard for me to sleep when I’m to hot. But fans are helping. I hope you all sleep well tonight.
