ranting abt my roommate in the tags dont look at me
#bro i really like them a lot but they have been getting on my NERVES since moving in omg. they're my partner's best friend and there's#a lot of good reasons for that but also as im getting to know them more closely im realizing they can be soooo pretentious#its both my partner's birthday and their birthday today so i went to the store at 7am to get breakfast stuff#2 diff types of biscuits. cinnamon rolls. hash browns. sausage plus plant-based sausage for them. fruit. juice. red bull.#that one brand of sparkling water i know they like. ingredients for a birthday cake. plus 2 bottles of champagne and OJ for mimosas#i spent like $130 on this and then when we finished making breakfast they wanted to take a photo of our plates & mimosa glasses & stuff#and they turned the champagne bottle around so you couldn't see the brand name and were like 'uhh nobody needs to know this is andré lol'#(andré is an inexpensive but common brand of champagne if you're unaware)#like dude. i went out of my way to do this and already spent a significant amount of money#and you're gonna comment about the quality of the champagne i got? wack#this happened like 6 hours ago and im still feeling very wtf about it lol#they're weirdly hella pretentious about southern culture too and reference all sorts of tiny things as being innately southern...#which my partner (who is literally also southern? we're talking virginia vs north carolina) doesn't understand#and im just tired of it. they make mildly fatphobic comments and kinda uphold traditional beauty/body standards for women and they dont#seem to have much self-reflection for this. which is fuckin weird coming from a queer trans person who is incredibly interested in the#very granular aspects of queer history and 'theory'#there's literally so many other things about them that either mildly bother me or otherwise fully piss me off and im refraining from#listing them because i would 100% sound like an asshole but. i really just wish i lived only with my partner still.#god ok one more: the other day they asked me if i needed to use the bathroom before they showered (its a 1 bathroom house)#and i said nah. then they proceeded to not shower for 2+ hours#at that point i asked them if they minded if i took a quick shower cause i'd also been meaning to and like. it'd been over 2 hours#and they got kinda short and were like 'oh well i guess not. i was kinda making my way in there though. i can wait though.#no thats ok i still need to shower i was slowly gettin there but i can wait'#like thanks and sorry and i'll be quick but also IT HAS BEEN 2+ HOURS

Pairing: Kozume Kenma x fem!reader Tags: time skip!kenma, a fluffy mess to be honest, dad!kenma being a soft mess for his princess Summary: Kodzuken usually doesn’t stream on his birthday, but this year is an exception as player two and player three joined him Word count: ~1.2k
Author’s note: happy birthday to Kenma (and myself lol)!! Here’s my piece to celebrate his birthday with a self-indulgent idea since I’m a sucker for dad!haikyuu
Tumblr media
Kenma's schedule as a streamer changed as the years passed by: when you first started dating, he would take one day off to spend with you; after you got engaged and, eventually, married, you'd play with him every once in a while. Now, his streams during weekends starts after nine pm and his birthday is a stream-free day.
All of these changed because of your daughter, the sweet and energetic Mai. The young girl, at the age of 4, was a daddy's girl - and it was safe to say Kenma was wrapped around her little finger. In order to spend a quality time with you two, Kenma changed his schedule, and he couldn't be happier.
However, this year was an exception. His community was surprised when he announced a special stream on October 16th, featuring player 2 and player 3. It was no mystery that said players were you and Mai, Kenma always referred to your little family like that.
"Hi chat, is everything working well?" he waved at his camera, the headphone resting around his neck. On the screen he could see what he was streaming, the two gamer chairs were perfectly on frame and the little decoration you and Mai did for the background appeared nicely. "Today is a special stream, not only it's my birthday, but also my wife and my daughter will join us"
The comment section went wild at the news, Mai was loved by the community as much as Kenma was. Maybe it was her cuteness or how talkative she was, always talking with the "cat" (as she says, her pronunciation is getting there), showing them different draws she’s made in the past days.
"Papa!!" Mai opened the door of his studio, running in his direction. Kenma quickly turned his chair to hold her on his lap, receiving a kiss on his cheek. “Is the cat here, already?”
“Yes, love, say hi to them” the girl proceeded to wave at the camera, rambling about how excited she was to play with her dad. Mai was a natural in front of cameras, in no time she was telling the viewers about her tea party with mommy. “And baby player four was enjoying it as well!”
As if you were summoned by the kid, you entered the studio holding three bottles of water. Firstly your huge baby bump came into view, then you crouched slightly so your face would appear on the screen. Mai started to call her little sister player four after hearing Kenma saying it, her eyes sparkling with the realization that “daddy is player one, mommy is player two, Mai is player three and baby sis is player four!!”
“Hi, chat” you waved, taking a seat next to your husband and daughter. Scanning quickly the comment section, different messages caught your attention, as well as the donates and subs. “Player four is fine, I’ve reached my due date, right now is just matter of her will to come”
“Because of that, today will be the last stream for a while guys” Kenma added, adjusting Mai on his lap, wrapping his left arm around her waist as he used the other hand to use the computer. “I’ll stay low until the baby’s born and me and Y/N settle a decent schedule with her”
“Daddy, can we play the island game, please?” Mai pleaded handing him the specific controller she had seen her daddy using to play the said game. “We have to show cat our new house!”
“Of course, darling,” he agreed, kissing her head. “Guess we’re playing Animal Crossing then. Y/N will read the subs and read your comments, so send questions to us”
After an hour, Mai got bored of the game she suggested and claimed she wanted to see “mommy winning over daddy on the pink game” - also known as Fall Guys. She picked after Kenma and tried to narrate what the players were doing, whining whenever a character fell and getting mad when you or Ken didn’t make it to the next round.
“Cat, can you see that I decorated papa’s room? Mama helped me!” Mai kept blabbering in between yours or Kenma’s comments and answers of questions. “Mama, can we eat the cake? Cat, me, mama and papa baked a cake! Though I like apple pie more, but the lady who makes apple pie don’t do them when papa’s working”
“Should we take a break from games, then? We can eat the cake while answering questions” Kenma suggested putting Mai on the floor, his hand travelled immediately to rub your stomach - a habit he had picked on during your first pregnancy. “Mai, can you help mommy with the cake?”
“Yes!” she exclaimed, holding onto your hand so you two could go to the kitchen. “Don’t start another game, papa!”
Kenma laughed lightly at the order he just received, the chat laughing at Mai cuteness.
“She learns fast, once she heard Y/N telling me to stop playing to eat and now Mai says it every time she passes by” he commented with a smile on his features. “If I’m anxious to player four’s birth? Of course! I’ve never realized how much I wanted kids of my own until Y/N got pregnant. ‘Kodzuken, do you want a son to play video games with?’ Nah, my daughters will play with me, Mai-chan already does- though she likes Animal Crossing and Mario Kart, even if she spends most of the time bumping into walls”
You could listen to Kenma talking to his viewers with an excited tone, the one he reserved only when he’s talking about your family (and maybe Hinata, you knew for a fact your husband had a soft spot for him). It was true, though, you two didn’t imagine having kids judging by Kenma’s personality and his schedule as a streamer. However, when the news of your first child on their way arrived everything changed for you, especially seeing Kozume so emotional and happy.
“Cat!! Look, it’s papa’s birthday cake” Mai exclaimed bursting into the room with you trailing behind holding it. “I decorated it, isn’t it pretty?”
“Yes, love, you did a great job” Kenma praised her, making room on his table so you could put the plate. There were a few candles ready to be lit - much to Mai’s exhilaration - with a mess of red and yellow toppings.
“Shall we sing happy birthday to papa, Mai-chan?” you asked lighting up the candles, your daughter clapping her hands slightly out of the rhythm. You exchanged looks with Kenma, his eyes were filled with joy and love - which made your heart flutter. “Don’t forget to make a wish, babe”
He closed his eyes quickly, thinking about what he wanted, but Kenma concluded he had everything he wanted. He works with what he loves, he has a stable income and on top of everything, he has you and his little family of players. Sneaking his hand to hold yours above your baby bump, Kenma opened his eyes and blew the candles.
As Mai started to babble again about the cake and decoration, Kenma leaned towards you to kiss quickly on your cheek - being aware of the audience watching him. The chat went wild with the sudden display of affection, showering you with love and positivity.
“Thank you so much for everything”

I'd like to request a fluffy oneshot of scp-2030 x my oc. Hair color: blonde, Hair type: curly, eye color: blue
It was always nice to just go out and have some fun with friends, it’s a great way to unwind and catch up with them! And it’s hard to say no when they invite you to a fun day out. So you can’t really blame Dasha for being gone the whole day. 2030 knew this, he obviously did, and he’s glad Dasha has a life outside him. Buuuuuuut, he wouldn’t mind if he could spend way more time with her. Don’t get it wrong Laughy is a sociable person, well, when he wants to. Who would have guessed that a moderator of a comedy (if we can call it that) is a tad introverted? So here he is, sitting on a couch, not even focusing on the Tv, waiting for Dasha to come home, he already did all he had to do, heck he even dusted the whole place. So now all that’s left is sitting crossed arm, thinking how to make it look like he hasn’t been in fact waiting for the past few hours.
Almost midnight, she was supposed to be back by now. She wasn’t even answering his texts and calls. Well. Time to panic. He quickly turned the Tv off, got up to get his jacket and keys while talking out loud to himself.
“What if she was assaulted, or kidnapped, oh good lord what if the foundation found out her connection to me, yeah this is ba-”
That’s when he heard someone shuffling with their keys on the other side of the door.
“oh….OH”
Laughy quickly threw his jacket and keys away and jumped on the couch to sit down, luckily for him, he managed to do it before that person unlocked and opened the door.
“I’m home and not in fact deeead”
Yup, that was Darsha, it was clear from her voice that she’s in a really good mood. Laughy simply turned his head to look at her before saying:
“Back so soon?”
“I know, I know, and I’m really sorry. We lost track of time and headed back a bit later than expected, I hope you weren’t too worried, you know how you can be”
“Nah”
Yeah, she wasn’t buying that, just a few seconds ago she heard him talking to himself. “Really?”
“Mhm, of course”
He gave her a smug smile thinking he looks like a very chill, carefree, and not at all a clingy person. Boy was he wrong.
“Because last time I was few minutes late, you proceeded to run outside and scream for me, not to mention the threats you yelled”
“Well-” Laughy tried defending himself.
“Even though I was literally in the parking lot.”
“I know but-”
“What is like 2 minutes from here”
Both of them went quiet, Darsha smiling widely and Laughy smiling as well, he can’t help it when she’s in such a good mood. After a bit, he said: “Are you done no-”
“Or the time YOU were few minutes late and broke the door when rushing home because, and I quote: ,,There was no time for keys.,,”
Oh Darsha was enjoying this.
“Alright, miss remember everything, we get it.” Laughy said, clearly defeated.
Dasha chuckled at that before sitting next to him and kissing his cheek.
“I missed you btw”
“I missed you too” He replied quickly, putting his arm around her shoulder to pull her closer.
And they sat like that, she was telling him all she did today and he excitedly told her his plans for future episodes of his show. Soon Darsha was using him as a pillow, yawning.
“Alright, I think it's time for you to go to bed”
She didn’t even bother with answering properly but rather responded with dissatisfied noises.
“Come on, you can’t sleep on the couch in your clothes you've been in the whole day”
“Technically, I’m sleeping on you” Laughy smiled at that comment.
“Alright, then you can’t sleep on me in your clothes you've been in the whole day. You will regret it tomorrow, you know.”
“Sounds like a future me problem.” Darsha said as she clung to him even more.
“So you really don’t want to?”
“Mhm” She wasn’t really paying attention at this point.
“Does that mean we can pla-”
“NO” Darsha yelled out knowing what comes now, she quickly got up going to the bedroom for her nightclothes, but it was too late, Laughy already started
“Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to our tonight’s show ,,hurry up,, where we will follow our lovely contestant’s struggle to get ready in time for bed. Will she be able to win the grand prize or will she have to suffer not knowing what the prize is? Let’s fin-”
That’s all she managed to hear before going to shower, last time she didn't win and the curiosity is still eating her alive, so not tonight!
----
“Darsha?”
“....”
“Oh please, don’t be a sore loser”
Darsha hit him with a pillow for that, but that only got a chuckle out of him.
“I love you Darsha”
She dramatically sighed before smiling.
“I love you too”
--------------
So this is my first fluff ever! Of course, Darsha belongs to @mrchuckletheeth. I hope I got it right :)
The next post will be father-son one for 096 and 049, requested by @creepyalienghost

Lee Chan is a man who loves with his entire heart. He is a man that exemplifies the definition of someone who loves unconditionally. He could go on and on about how much someone means to him if anyone asked him to, which would definitely lead to his members teasing him that it’s too long of a compliment. He is a hard working man who puts all his energy, effort and passion into what he does - all while never failing to disappoint his fans. Although he has his older brothers to look up to and help guide him, he learned how to become his own person, which is where he is now.
Chan stared at his reflection in the mirror, taking slow and even breaths to help calm his nervousness. He wasn’t sure why he was nervous, but maybe it was the fact by the end of the day, he would be going home to spend the rest of his life with his soulmate. Or it was the fact that his best man lost the paper where he had written his vows.
‘Boo Seungkwan, you made me argue with Jeonghan only to fuck up,’ he thought. He knows he doesn’t need vows to profess his love to you, but he wrote some good shit down. His eyes averted from his reflection to the window behind him, watching the droplets of rain fall down against the glass. Of all the days, it had to rain on this special day. Chan could only imagine your panicked state because of the rain.
//
You love the rain. Totally convenient that the whole ceremony takes place outdoors (sarcasm) but frankly, it didn’t bother you at all because then it would make it more magical for the two of you. So what if it was muddy and wet? You’re going to marry the love of your life and that’s all that mattered.
Okay, maybe your attire would get ‘slightly’ messy, but it's the amazing story that you could tell your future kids and grandkids about.
You wondered how Chan was doing and how he thought about the weather. Was he relaxed? Worried? It shouldn’t be a big deal, should it? At least you didn’t think it was.
//
“Boo Seungkwan, I am going to kick your ass.” Chan glared at the said man who was standing at the doorway. Seungkwan looked at the younger, raising his hands in an attempt to calm him down.
“Hey, be glad that I didn’t lose the rings instead.” Immediately he regretted those words as he saw Chan mentally throw daggers at him, “Don’t worry. You rehearsed it right? I know some of it and you know most. We can rewrite it together!” Chan dragged his hand over his face as he sighed.
“It’s fine Kwan, I’ll figure it out, just check on them for me please? You can do that right?” Seungkwan nodded his head, leaving the room with the slam of the door, rushing so he won’t anger the younger any further.
Chan took a deep breath, attempting to think happy thoughts so he won’t be as stressed. Immediately, his mind went to you; the memory of how you met. He closed his eyes, a soft smile automatically rising on his lips.
~ Chan saw Hoshi sitting at the dining table with his phone propped up against a bowl. He was laughing at something so Chan figured that he was live and talking with carats. That is until he heard your voice. It was soft yet had that rough breathy feeling to it that one could get lost in with only a whisper escaping past your lips. He was captivated.
He tried to peek at the screen to see who the voice belonged to, but failed when he remembered that Hoshi has a private screen protector. His bit his lip and composed himself, remembering the reason he was going to the kitchen in the first place.
“Hey Hoshi. Are you live?” Casually walking to the fridge, he opened it and retrieved a bottle of water. Nice.
“No, I’m talking to my friend. Come say hi, you haven’t met them yet.” Hoshi moved his phone a bit and patted the empty seat next to him. Chan eagerly moved to the empty seat and mentally prepared himself.
His eyes looked onto the small screen, seeing you devouring your cup of ramen noodles. Chan released a giggle, seeing you become flustered and move out of frame before returning with a clean mouth and small smile on your lips. “OH! Before I introduce you two, check out our handshake.” Hoshi signaled Chan to do their handshake that they made. Chan cleared his throat and sat up in his seat before he lifted his hand, following the movements of Hoshi before finally syncing together. His eyes never left the screen as he watched the amusement on your face continue to rise with every move. “See, I told you our handshake was good.”
He heard your laugh, “Nah Hoshi, that handshake was complete garbage. I can already tell that you were the one who came up with it,” He couldn’t seem to find the right time to speak and introduce himself to you, mainly because he was so distracted by you in general.
“Yeah whatever, it’s not like you could do better.” Hoshi rolled his eyes, looking at the younger one before him, smirking. He reached over and grabbed an extra bowl, setting it in front of Chan. “Eat with me. OH!” Hoshi introduced the two of you as he looked at Chan who was attempting to look anywhere but the camera as you waved and said hi.
“Nice to meet you.” Hoshi knew what he had to do because when he looked back at the phone on the table, you were trying to avoid eye contact too. ~
“Chan? Chan wake up.” He mumbled, sighing and tried to shoo away the person trying to wake him. “Chan, you missed your wedding.” He shot up.
“What?! Vernon, help me get ready please. Oh my god, how could I do this? What is wrong with me? Why did I have to take a nap- why are you just standing there?!” He looked at Vernon, a smirk on his lips.
“You see, your finance took a guess that you had probably fallen asleep and they were right. But you have,” he took a look at his watch, “2 hours and 30 minutes left before you get married. So right now, I suggest you take a shower and freshen up, get dressed then meet me in the lobby.” Chan nodded his head, but glared at Vernon for making him panic, and proceeded to the bathroom.
//
You had just finished fixing your hair and makeup. All that was left was to put on your attire which shouldn’t take long. You sat back on the small sofa in your hotel room, looking outside and seeing the rain from earlier become a small drizzle. Your mind wandered to Chan and what had happened when Vernon was in your room earlier. Chan tends to over nap and sleep longer than he intends to, so you figured it could be a possibility today which is why you had Vernon go and check on him.
There was a soft knock on the door. You got up and opened it to see Seungkwan there. “Hi, I’m just checking in on you. Chan sent me hours ago, but I got a bit… distracted.” You tilted your head to the side and let him into your room.
“Is everything okay?”
He turned to look at you, “OH, yeah, everything is, uh, fine.” You can see how on edge and nervous he was, which is kind of funny because this is your wedding day.
“What’s wrong Seungkwan?”
He sighed, letting out the breath he was holding in, “Okay well first, it is raining and I don’t know what to tell the guests. And two, I lost the paper with Chan’s vows. I’ve been feeling so bad about it, I tried to retrace my steps to figure out where I have put them but I just can’t find them anywhere.” You made him sit down, showing him a way to calm down.
“Kwan, it’s okay. I’m sure Chan will be fine, I mean we already know how much we love each other. Plus I didn’t write mine down because it’s all in my head, BUT it came from my heart. As for the guests, that’s your problem until I walk down the aisle.” Seungkwan’s head dropped before he took a final breath and stood up.
“I will make sure that this wedding is the best wedding you’ll ever have.”
“Well, it’ll be the only wedding that I hope to ever have.”
//
Chan finished fixing his tie and put on his blazer. Checking his watch, he had 45 minutes left before he was going to marry the love of his life. He quickly made his way out the door with all of his things and headed down to the lobby. He met up with Vernon and was greeted with a limo and all of his band mates there, except for Hoshi who was with you at the moment.
Getting inside, he took a deep breath and waited for his best friends to get in. Once they were on their way, he looked outside the window, tapping his fingers on his knee.
He couldn’t believe that in less than 40 minutes, he will be yours and you will be his. Chan didn’t even resist the smile that rose on his face as he thought about how you two got to know each other just only a few years ago.
//
It only began with simple text messages after Hoshi put you three into a group chat. He eventually forced you both to private message each other due to what he called, ‘cringe’ messages that you sent one another. But those messages soon turned into calls, then to facetime.
The first facetime made him nervous because not only were you busy, but the only time you were free to talk was when he would have to practice or record. But that didn’t stop him because he still proceeded to call you and ask for your input on a dance move of how he should sing a certain lyric. Obviously it wasn’t your interest at heart to bother him when he was clearly busy, but he wouldn’t let you end the call. Instead he made sure to talk to you and ask how you were doing or how your day was. It was very sweet of Chan, which is what made you fall in love with him because even though he was busy, he made time for you and included you in everything. It only got better when staff allowed him to bring you to filming.
Not only did you finally get to meet him for the first time, you also got to meet the other members as well as see Hoshi again.
“I can’t believe you traded me for Chan. Of all people.” You laughed at him and looked over to Chan who was filming something with Mingyu and Dokyeom.
“Well can you blame me?” Hoshi looked at you, eyebrows raised, eyes full of interest.
“Don’t tell me you fell for him when you both haven’t even gone on a date yet.”
Your silence answered his question as he began to yell causing you to flee towards the man that you were scared, but happy to fall for.
Not even two weeks after that day, Chan asked you to go with them on a trip, in which they planned to record for their fans. The right thing to say, and what you told him, was no because it would be too much of a bother, but he didn’t take no for an answer, so he brought Hoshi into it, causing you to go. And man were you glad that you went to it because not only did you witness some funny games that they played or watch Chan get thrown into the freezing cold pool, but it was the night that Chan confessed to you.
Chan planned it all out. Everyone was asleep, so he went out to the backyard, setting up the fairy lights and putting some lanterns out too. He snuck into your room and woke you up quietly, bringing you outside (with a jacket of course) and told you there, his eyes glistening with sparkles; a galaxy beneath it all. Although the gesture was romantic and beautiful, you were half asleep and ruined the moment by basically telling him, “I’m sorry Hoshi, but I like Chan.”
Didn’t change anything except it was now a funny story that you both look back to.
//
Chan’s smile slowly began to fade as a rush of nervousness took over his mind after seeing the world outside of the car turn into a parking place. He took a few deep breaths and got out of the car after his band members.
Taking a look around the area, he was surprised with how nice it looked. It was a bit dark due to the clouds covering the sun that was setting slowly, but the fairy lights and lanterns made it all more bright and beautiful. Thank god for Seungkwan choosing decent tents though.
“Wow.”
“Wow is indeed correct my friend, I popped off.” Chan laughed as his best friend took his place beside him. “Are you ready for this Chan? It’s almost time.”
Chan smiled and nodded his head, “Ready as I’ll ever be.”
Seungkwan wrapped his arm around the younger, sighing and appreciating the work he put to make this day as special as he could for his bandmate. “You know, the proposal was way more stressful than this was.”
Groaning, Chan’s head fell back onto Seungkwan’s arm, “Don’t remind me.”
“Hey you gotta admit though, although I may have misplaced the ring, but I found it and I succeeded with the plan.” Chan nodded his head, wanting to reply but getting interrupted after seeing that your car had arrived.
The guests all shuffled quickly to their seats, the wedding party took their places with their partners, and Chan lined up with his mom and dad next to him. You were in the car with your parents waiting for everyone to walk down before you came out.
As the music began to play, it didn’t reach the ears of Chan because as he started to walk down the aisle with his parents by his side, his mind went back in time to relive the day he proposed to you. Damn Seungkwan for bringing it up; now he’s emotional.
~ It was around 5 o’clock in the evening, Chan was pacing back and forth in the living room and constantly checking the time on his watch. Seungkwan was supposed to be at the house with the ring before Chan had to go pick you up for your anniversary date.
It has been three years since the two of you got together and boy it has been a ride. From those phone calls and trips to where you both were now, Chan couldn’t ask for any better because he already has the best. He couldn’t even process that he was actually going to propose to you.
The knock on the door broke his train of thought as he quickly rushed to open it, seeing Seungkwan there panting. “Okay, I found it.”
“What do you mean you found it?! When did you lose it?!” Seungkwan pursed his lips, knowing that he accidentally slipped up.
“Hey, don’t focus on that now buddy! You got a date to get to.” Nervously, Seungkwan placed the small box in Chan’s palm before running in the opposite direction going god knows where.
Deciding to talk to him about it later, Chan grabbed his keys and made his way to his car to go and pick you up for the most magical evening he had planned.
Boy was it indeed magical for you. The sky painted a pretty orange, the fairy lights, lanterns and cool breeze; it couldn’t have been more perfect. Except it did get more perfect as you turned to look at your boyfriend of three years down on one knee. Your mouth fell open, then a shy smile took over as you turned your head away, trying to keep your emotions in check. You slowly turned your head to look at the nervous smile on his face, yet catching that same sparkle in his eyes like it was the same night he confessed to you all over again.
“Lord knows I would try to make a big speech about how much I love you, but I know you’re impatient and my knee kinda hurts. Will you make me more happy than I already am by marrying me?”
Shooting him a cheeky smile, you crouched down to be level with him, tears in your eyes, “I’m sorry Hoshi, but I’d rather marry Chan.” ~
Chan took his place to the left of the marriage officiant, while taking a deep breath, facing the crowd, but his eyes only on your car. He couldn’t believe that this day would come, the day he can call you his forever.
The crowd stood up to their feet, turning to watch as your parents emerged from the car, bright smiles on their faces. Your dad opened the door, reaching out for your hand to help you out of the vehicle. The second you came into view, Chan’s breath caught in his throat, his eyes widening as music began to play. He faintly heard Seungkwan mention how beautiful you look, only nodding due to his breathlessness.
Swallowing the lump in his throat, he kept his eyes on you as your parents escorted you down the aisle, preparing to give you away. Without realizing it, a tear escaped his eye and he quickly tried to wipe it, keeping his head up higher. He took a step forward as you approached the front. He bowed to your parents and you kissed their cheek.
Chan held out his hand, a smile automatically rising as you smiled cheekily at him. Placing your hand in his palm, he walked with you, eyes keeping contact, “You look gorgeous.” A blush rose to your cheeks as you admired the man in front of you that you would soon marry.
//
Chan’s mind was racing and he knew that you noticed how sweaty his palms were. You gave his hand a squeeze to help soothe his emotions. It did help a bit, except it came back all over again when the officiant said their next sentence. “We've come to the point of your ceremony where you're going to say your vows to one another. Would Chan like to go first?”
“Wait, no I want to.”
Chan smiled as you nervously swung his hands that you held. You took a deep breath, trying to recall the words that you have been repeating in your head for the past couple of days.
“Chan, three years ago, I wouldn’t have ever imagined to be standing up here with you. You have taught me how to love and what it’s like to be loved. And to think that I simply thought of you as my best friend’s band member, but over these past years, you have become someone more to me. Now, here we are, with our future right ahead of us, and I only ever want to spend it with you, my soulmate. I love you so much.”
Chan let out a shaky breath as the officiant signaled him to recite his vows. He felt a tap on his shoulder as he saw Seungkwan hold up the paper that had his vows. Nodding his head, he didn’t take the paper and looked back into your eyes.
“You know, earlier today as I was getting ready, I was worried about the weather and how it would ruin our perfect day. But when I kept having little flashbacks of how we met, how I confessed and proposed, I realized that those memories never ended up perfect like I wanted them to, but with you there, with your beautiful smile and bright eyes, it was always perfect to begin with. And I can’t wait for the perfect life we have before us. I love you.”
A tear escaped your eye as Chan quickly wiped it, giving you a loving smile. The officiant gave a satisfied smile, “May I have the rings please? Thank you.” He handed the ring to you, “Please repeat after me.”
Taking Chan’s left hand, you followed the words the officiant said, slipping the ring onto his ring finger. He smiled and repeated the process the officiant requested the both of you to follow. Turning both of your heads to the man performing your wedding ceremony, he shot you both an excited smile.
“By the power of your love and commitment, and the power vested in me, I now pronounce you a life of everlasting love together.”
The second Chan caught the signal, he cupped your face delicately in his hands and placed his lips softly onto yours, kissing you with passion.
Breaking away, the two of you failed to notice the clapping and cheers around you as you only looked at each other, staring lovingly into one another's eyes. You caught that same glimmer in his, wishing that it never fades, but not knowing that the sparkle was only made for you.

What Do You Think?
Peter Parker x Reader
Summary: You’re baking cupcakes and ask for Peter’s opinion. He has other things in mind
---------------------------------------------------
"It smells great in here", Peter said walking into the kitchen after taking a shower
You were baking cupcakes for your friends birthday the next day. You were planning to do this at home but Peter insisted you come over to his place to hang out. So you packed up your ingredients and promised May you would clean up her kitchen.
"Thanks! They should be done in about 10 minutes. I think I'll be able to frost them in an hour or so" you said mixing the frosting.
"And we'll have 1 or 2? Or 5? You know, taste test for quality assurance." Peter asked with a sly smile.
"We'll see! I need to make sure there's enough for Steph's party tomorrow night." You were focused on finishing up the frosting.
"Is it a big party?" Peter asked as he wrapped his arms around you from behind, giving you a hug.
"She said it will be kind of small and chill. We're probably just going to play some games and maybe watch a movie."
"Then you should have plenty of cupcakes for testing!" Peter said giving you a kiss on the cheek and resting his head on your shoulder. You smiled back at him.
"Babe..." Peter paused for a second, "um, why is the frosting green?"
You laughed at his confusion, "They're chocolate mint cupcakes! I want them to look like it."
You grabbed a spoon and scooped some frosting out to taste. You swooped the frosting onto your finger and gave it a try, satisfied with the outcome. "Not bad! I don't think the mint is too strong. I hope." You offered the spoon to Peter. "What do you think? There's going to be plenty of chocolate to mix it with from the cake and I was planning to top it with mini chocolate chi -- HEY!" Peter wiped his frosting on your nose, laughing at the way you jumped in surprise. You giggled and could feel a blush crossing your cheeks, reaching to wipe it off when he grabbed you, "No don't worry! I'll get it!" he quickly kissed your nose and proceeded to lick the frosting off it.
"Pete!" you laughed and squirmed trying to get away.
"You're right! The mint isn't too strong. It tastes great! Or maybe that's just you" Peter wrapped you in a tight hug and started kissing your cheek down to your jaw. You melted in his arms, giggling at his playfulness.
"Stohop!" you said giving him a shove.
"What?" Peter asked flatly as he made his way down to your neck. You started to crumble at the feeling of the tickly kisses. You could feel his smile against your neck right before he blew a raspberry there making you shriek and your knees started to buckle.
"Nohohohoho! PETER! Come ohohon!" He followed you down as you fell to the floor, laughing all the way while he blew more raspberries in the crook of your neck and ran his fingers up and down your sides.
"What Y/N? I'm just trying to make sure I got all the frosting" he teased looking down at you with a big smile now that you were flat on the floor trying to scoot away from him.
"You gohohot ihihit! YOU GOT IT!! Quihihihit ihithit!!" You pushed him away and accidentally wiped some frosting that had been on your hand on his neck and shirt. You were known as a good baker but quite a messy one always ending up with flour and batter on you.
Peter gasped seeing what you had done and squeezed your thighs making you kick your legs out. "Why would you do that Y/N?? That's just rude!!" He said feigning offense, moving up your torso to tickle your ribs.
"I'M SORRY!! I DIDN'T MEAN IT!" you screamed as tears of mirth formed in the corners of your eyes. "PETER! STOHOHOHOP!" you begged but his fingers just moved more rapidly on your ribs.
Peter laughed at you, "Nah I don't think so!" and bent down to blow a raspberry on your cheek.
You tried your best to wiggle away, laughing your head off. The timer for the oven went off but Peter didn't slow down. "Stopstopstopstop my cupcakes! They're going to be ruined!" Peter finally let up and let you breathe.
"Fine I'll stop. Only because I want some" He held your hands and bent done one last time to blow another raspberry on your neck. You squealed scrunching your shoulders. You stayed down on the floor taking deep breaths while Peter walked away to grab the cupcakes out of the oven.
"There's like 30 cupcakes here! We can definitely do some taste tests!" Peter said excitedly, smiling at you panting on the floor.
"I hate you" you said halfheartedly, glaring at him
Peter extended his hand to help you up "Love you too Y/N/N"

Chapter 8 Excerpt: TQIY
Tumblr media
EXCERPT FROM The Quarantine in the Year now live on AO3 (also, thought this gif was fitting since our duo is dancing this chapter!)
--------
Disclaimer: Okay so, now I can say I own a single character. Shannon in this one is mine and for as long as she's here in this world, she will be. I think I'm going somewhere with her and I like it. Everybody else, nah, they ain't mine. Also, the song lyrics ain't mine either.
A/N: So, I posted once already for this period/day but you know, I just sat down and magic. In forty minutes, this was born. Please if you don't know Paramore's Riot album, I recommend listening to it. It was my muse tonight. We go a little harder than I thought and definitely not where I thought I'd end up but here we go. Pt. 2 of the rock n roll festivities. Lemme know what you think!
---------
Brennan stared in awe at her husband. Booth was playing an air guitar and banging his head around to the beat lip-syncing. While it was totally out of her comfort zone, she couldn’t help but feel connected. An enigma she was certain of it. But as it was many times before, being with Booth did that. Since the beginning. Arguing with him then set her on fire in ways she couldn’t begin to describe. If she were totally honest with herself, she would admit that it had scared her. Never before had she met someone who could irritate her to her last cell but still manage to pull her in oh so close to the point of letting down her walls.
Like her husband, it made no sense, but she was in for the long run. She shook her head. A couple years ago she was certain that she would never be able to give him the 30, 40 or 50 years he wanted. But now, almost seven years later, she was happily married to the same man who had not once given up on them. Yes, it may have seemed so at one point, but Booth had told her that even then, his attempt at moving on was futile a mistake. Temperance Brennan, at this moment in her yoga pants and tank top, hair down was in it for the 30, 40 or 50 years she would get with her husband and she wouldn’t want it any other way. Breaking her out of her thoughts were the lyrics Booth was now lip-syncing to.
We’ll get it right this time …... I’ve gone for too long living like I’m not alive So I’m gonna start over tonight Beginning with you and I I don’t want to run from anything uncomfortable I just need this pain to end right now I’m not going Cause I’ve been waiting for a miracle
“Bones, you okay?”
The music had died down a bit and the current song playing was some kind of acoustic version of what she assumed was a very upbeat, jump around and scream song.
“Yes, of course… I’m-I’m more than okay Booth.”
“Okay, you wanna join me? It’s actually very therapeutic. You know? Just getting it all out.”
“Yes, I can imagine although I am quite positive, we’ll both need a shower after.”
“Well, how’s about we sweat it all out now and then clean each other in the shower?” Booth’s eyebrows shot up in a mischievous waggle. Throwing her head back laughing, Brennan shook her head at her husband’s very non-subtle way to seduce her.
“Oh Bones! Here’s another headbanger!”
Booth began again.
Oh no I just keep on falling And where’s hope, when misery comes crawling? With your fate, you’ll trigger a landslide And kill off this common sense of mind
“Oh I love this song!” Brennan cheered getting into the groove of just letting her body loose.
“You do? Bones, I didn’t know that.”
“Yes, I was out of state working with a colleague of mine on a research project. It was very… The subject matter hit close to home as it dealt with identifying bone remodeling on victims of abuse. Most of the case study came from children in the foster system.”
Booth now intrigued had paused the music momentarily to listen to Brennan.
“There were a few remains we were studying and a few children who were alive that we interviewed. One of the girls… Shannon was her name. She was a teenager. Similar start in the system like I had and the few homes she had been in prior to being rescued had been abusive. Very abusive. Anyways, I was working with her because I couldn’t explain it at the time, but I felt drawn to her.” Drawing a shaky breath, Brennan reached out to hold on to Booth. Something she did now when she needed to feel grounded.
“She and I worked together for days talking about her story. One day, I went by the shelter she was staying in to take her out to lunch. I went up to her room and this was the song she was listening to. On repeat. When I asked why, she said it gave her hope. It helped her acknowledge that any day might be the end, that her life was difficult, but she had a purpose. She was born for this and she would live like it… like any day was her last. She wanted that chance to do so. To live like every day was her last by choice instead of wondering if it would because of her reality. Given the injuries she had sustained, and from what I saw on her x-rays, that may have well been the case when she was in those homes.”
“What happened to her after that?”
“Well, that day, I danced around with her a bit and we got lunch came back to her place and danced around some more. I helped with homework and she got me a copy of the song so I could listen to it. She got adopted. At the end of the study, there was a couple who couldn’t have children and had wanted a teenage daughter to care for. They came, met Shannon and adopted her.”
“That must have been great for her.”
“Yes, it was. It was also quite emotional to see her go. I had helped her pack and get her stuff together. She left me with a copy of the song and a picture we took together. Every day, at least once a day, I would listen to it and think of her.” Brennan smiled softly; her eyes distant remembering the curly-haired young woman she had befriended years ago.
“Do you know where she is now?”
“Yes, she’s living in New York I believe. She had moved to California with her adoptive parents. We stayed in touch. Via email mostly. She would send me essays to proofread for her, reach out about questions in general about life after the system. She graduated in the top ten of her high school class. She was fourteen at the time when I met her. She then went to Boston University. Majored in linguistics and writing. She works for the New Yorker I believe and teaches part-time at NYU.”
“She made something of herself. Just like you did.”
“Yes, she did.”
“Do you still talk to her?”
“Every now and then. She considers me a mentor, although our relationship is more reminiscent of an older and younger sister duo.”
“I’d love to meet her one day.”
“I think we can set that up. I’ll email and set up a video call. I’d love to catch up with her also. It’s been a while since our last correspondence.”
“You know Bones, I’ve told you this before but seriously. People don’t give you enough credit for that heart of yours. It is beautiful baby. As are you.”
“Booth…” Brennan ducked her head shyly at her husband’s praises.
“Well, this is for Shannon.” Lifting the remote, he turned on the song again and they both danced their hearts out. Booth for the huge heart and life his wife had been born for and Brennan for the life she realized she was born for.
Say this with me go We were born for this (We were born for this) We were born for this (We were born for this) We were born for, we were born for
Brennan hopped up on the couch and banged her head, throwing her fists up singing rather than lip-syncing.
Everybody sing Like it’s the last song you will ever sing Tell me, tell me can you feel the pressure? Everybody live Like it’s the last day you will ever see
And that they did. On the couch, on the floor, jumping around the entire floor. Booth and Brennan danced as if that night were their last and when the music continued, so did they. Only stopping to grab beer from the fridge and even then, they were so pumped they couldn’t stop the dancing. Then they drank for the hurt, pain, detours and chaos they had and were dealing with.
Why do we like to hurt so much Oh why do we like to hurt so much That’s what you get when you let your heart win
When they had danced for another hour, they let their heart win for the night. Retiring to their bathroom, they gently washed each other cooling off. Gentle touches turned to passionate moments of love declarations only to then end in them dancing together in a way they had perfected over the years they had been together. Silent pleas, approvals and encouragements. Hands covering the others screams only to remember that there was a thunderstorm scheduled that night. Noise was warranted and indulging in a laugh together, foreheads pressed together, limbs a tangle in sheets, they proceeded to create their own thunderstorm.
A storm so beautiful, so fragile, passionate, life-giving and breathtaking. It was an enigma like them. To Temperance Brennan and Seeley Booth, it was a storm they would live in and would make last forever unwilling to force their eyes to see the end.

Part 4: Fight or flight
Tumblr media
Pairing: Aurora x MC (Iris Everette)
Word count: 3.2 K words
Part 1   Part 2    Part 3
Warning: Fluff and a little description of abuse
Taglist: @miyakokurono @agent-breakdance @trappedinfandoms @lilyofchoices @sekizincimektup (let me know if you want to be tagged)
Songs: Emergency by Jay Sean and Clean by Taylor Swift
It had been a week since their fight in the supply closet and Aurora was in a flux of emotions. On one hand, she wanted her baby girl back in her arms and kiss her till the end of time. But, on the other hand, she was just so fucking pissed.
Iris had not come home to the apartment for a week. She stayed, showered and ate at the hospital. Aurora kept true to her promise and gave Iris her space, but that didn't mean it hurt less. The seventh day after the fight, Aurora was distraught.
She had headed to Sienna's room that night and one look at her face and Sienna declared that it was the "eat ice cream till you are sick" time. They saw so many cliche rom-coms and crying which resulted in Elijah wheeling into their room to see if both of them were okay. "Oh my god... Rom-coms really?! They are shit."
"No Eli, they are the shit." Sienna corrected him.
"Get in or get out Eli." Aurora said as she sniffled.
"Geez okay I will join you two to see how can girls cry to such cliche storylines."
Nonetheless, the three of them started crying towards the ending of Titanic.
"Rose is such a dumbass.. Like how COULD YOU LET SUCH A NATIONAL TREASURE DIE?!" Elijah screamed at the TV.
"Yo...I think we broke him." Aurora said as Elijah continued to cry.
"Nah... He will be fine. But what about you?" Sienna asked as she turned towards Aurora.
"Everything sucks."
"Big mood." Elijah chimed in.
"It's just...it feels like I am in a waiting room." Aurora sighed. Sienna sent a questioning gaze towards Aurora.
"It's like... Iris continuously hints about her past. I like her so much....I really do but, she just won't let me cherish her completely. She won't let me in.. She has just put me in that space where I know more that the anybody else but less to know her completely. I know I shouldn't complain, but..... I hate seeing her in so much pain and I want to erase the sufferings. I was to kiss her troubles away. I want to tell her that I am all in, that I will be with her, through thick and thin... But, she still holds me at an arms distance." Aurora sighed, as the pain resurfaced.
"Aww honey...." Sienna reached and hugged her. Aurora shuddered and the need to cry just became so overwhelming.
"I have known Iris for a year and half and let me tell you, she has changed. She laughs more, jokes more and smiles more. She was a withered bud but when you came into her life, she bloomed into a beautiful rose. Iris... had never had many people she could be herself around or count on. I think her mother was the last person who she truly was the real version of Iris, but after that, nobody. So she grew thorns, so that nobody can hurt her again. She had accepted the fact that she was going to be a alone forever. But then, you came. You transformed her. It's a damn great accomplishment if you ask me." Sienna said.
Aurora blew a raspberry. "Trust me I know that. And I am proud of her for slowly opening up. She is self sufficient, independent and so so strong...but she doesn't need to carry that burden alone. I want to share everything. The happiness, the sadness, the beautiful and the ugly. She deserves so much more..."
"I know Aurora I know... I spoke to her a couple of days ago."
"What happened?" Aurora asked, hoping that she didn't sound too pussy whipped.
Stop lying to yourself... You ARE pussy whipped.
"She looks like she got hit by a train. She had dark circles large enough to carry groceries, she zones out sometimes and she is really, really paranoid. Like the other day, Bryce just went to close her eyes, so that he could surprise her. She fucking grabbed his hands and had him on his ass in a blink of an eye!!"
"What?!" Aurora was shocked. This was certainly a new development. She thought to herself.
"I am not joking. Luckily everything is fine but damn, Queen B has some nasty bruises on his wrist."
"Shit." Maybe, just maybe there was something else affecting her and the 'break' was just the cherry on top.
Fuck I am such a selfish bitch..
"Don't." Sienna said before Aurora threw herself into the pit of self loathing.
"Huh?"
"Don't feel guilty. Don't beat yourself. You need to understand that you are pushing her to be a better person, a better friend, a better partner. You are constantly challenging and calling her out. And I believe, that the kind of love you both have, it can survive any storm."
"Love?!" Aurora asked, her eyes as wide as saucers.
"Duh! Everybody can see it that the both of you are completely and utterly in love. Everybody, but the two of you."
"Do you think its true?" Aurora asked, trying to wrap her mind around this concept.
Sienna rolled her eyes before muttering, "Gods, for two smart people with their IQ's above 120, you guys are hella dense."
Aurora looked down at her hands, deep in thought. She was never familiar with the concept of this kind of love. Sure, she 'loved' her parents and family, but love another human being? That to romantically? Never.
She was of a scientific background and she always brushed aside the concept of love. Earlier if you would have asked her ‘what was love?’ she would have said that it was just a rush of oxytocin. Just a flux of chemicals. But now, if she were to close her eyes and think about it, forest green eyes stared right back at her.
"Holy shit." Aurora breathed out.
"God finally EEEEEEE!! One down, one more to go. Just know, I am rooting for the both of you." Sienna said as she squeezed her hand.
"Also can you like hurry up and make up? I might end up losing fifty dollars to Bryce." Elijah chimed in.
"This guys have been BETTING on when we make up?!" Aurora asked in disbelief.
"Eli, SHH!" Sienna smacked him, bullshiting back and forth. But Aurora didn't pay attention to that.
She was in love.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Iris stepped to the back of the empty elevator and leaned against the wall, sighing. This week had been shit for her. Her girlfriend had called for a timeout, her asshole of a father was walking free on the streets, she had a panic attack, and she lost a patient.
She hated being so paranoid. She hated having to look over her shoulder every minute. She felt so guilty for hurting Bryce, and she profusely apologized by buying him his favourite tacos.
She shouldn't have to stay in such fear. Hadn't she suffered enough? Hadn't she lost enough already? Is her life nothing but a game for the man upstairs?
Being of a scientific bent of mind, the laws of her world were bound by logic and proof. She never really believed in the existence of God. But at moments of weakness, like now, she couldn't help but wonder who is responsible for fucking her life up.
The lift dinged, and she opened her eyes to see which floor it had opened on. But what she saw, made her eyes open wide.
Rory met her eyes and then looked down as she stepped into the lift. She pressed the button for the fourth floor where Iris was also heading.
"By the way, chief said that there is a storm incoming. He wanted everyone to be prepared incase of an emergency." Iris spoke up, cutting through the uncomfortable silence.
"Yeah...my aunt told me that. It also explains why they sent Dr. Ramsey and a couple of electricians to check on the backup generators."
Iris chuckled. "Yap. You should have seen the way he was grumbling and muttering quote unquote- 'God I hate that place...it gives me the heebie jeebies'."
"What?! No way!" She turned around to look at Iris, instantly regretting it. Iris looked like shit. Her eyes were bloodshot and she was so tired that she had to lean against the wall of the elevator for support.
"If you don't believe it, I can ask Baz to send the video to you. Chief had a kick out of it."
Aurora giggled. "Okay, send it to me Adara."
Iris winced and Rory turned towards the elevator doors, the awkward silence settling in. It was slowly suffocating her. She thought that the deafening silence would continue indefinitely, but Aurora spoke up.
"I just...I miss you."
Iris looked up to see the back of Rory's head.
"I miss you too Rory..."
Aurora's heart soared and shattered at the same time. God she missed that nickname so much.
"Adara... Please. Just...please."
Iris shuddered. Just a simple plea, but it held so much meaning. She walked ahead and stood next to her. Aurora found herself leaning towards her, missing the warmth and comfort Iris gave her.
"Rory, I am so sorry... But I can't. It was never my intention to hurt you. You deserve someone strong and willing to be by your side... I am not that. My emotional burden will drown you."
"Adara, I will be the judge of that. If you just-"
"Baby, I care about you alot. And, I don't want you to get hurt... Just know that I am so damn lucky to have had you... for those seven months, I am so, so greatful." She proceeded to kiss Aurora's cheek, before exiting the lift.
Aurora was stunned. She reached to feel the place where Iris kissed her.
She couldn't help but wonder why Iris's words sounded like a final goodbye.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everything was okay. There weren't any accidents so far and the electricity was still running. Iris sat in the diagnostics room staring at the window, watching the rain drops pelt mercilessly on the glass window and the trees dancing to the tune of the gale.
She always found the rain soothing. It helped her escape. She could spend hours looking at the rain drops, racing each other to the bottom of the window. Her mom used to make hot chocolate for her on such rainy days. They would cuddle on the sofa, and have endless movie marathons. It's one of the happy memories she remembered from her past.
She always cherished those moments with her mom. Life at home may have been hell, but her mother's spirit did not once break. She was so strong and brave. She was kind and loved with all her heart. Iris always wondered if she would ever be half the woman her mom was or the fact that would her mother be proud of the way Iris turned out to be.
Guess we will never know.
Her pager beeped and she looked down to see what it said. 'Report to the nurses station on the fourth floor. Your lawyer is here.'
Huh, that's strange. Thomas said that he won't come till next week..
Shrugging off her doubts she started heading to the fourth floor. She walked down the long, empty hallway whistling. It was just a front but deep down, she had a feeling that she was being watched. She turned to look behind but there was no one following her.
You are just being paranoid Iris...
But isn't it better to be safe than sorry?
She turned the corner and she collided with someone.
"Oh, I am so sorry-" Iris said as she backed a little and straightened her scrubs. She then looked up and she was completely frozen. She felt as if she was sucker punched in the gut. All the breath left her body.
He was here.
"Oh no its my- Oh." A cruel smile slowly etched into his face. He had aged, which was pretty obvious but prison made him look rugged with white hair peppering his balding head and his eyes looked more maniacal.
"Hello mija."
She had dreamt their encounter many times before. How she would punch the fuck out of his face, and break his left wrist, the way he used to break hers. She would beat him up so hard that he would end up in the emergency room. Those imaginations were so graphic, that she could taste the blood of that monster on the tip of her tongue.
But, at the end of the day it was only fantasy. Dreams are those tantalizing flames, which help keep the fire in us alive, while reality on the other hand, is a bucket of cold water, smothering those flames.
She just stood there in shock. It felt as if her head had been dunked into water. She saw his lips move and the people walking around them, but she couldn't hear a thing. Her breath was getting shorter and shorter. She felt weak. Pathetic. Just like the sixteen year old who lay there on the floor, awaiting her death.
No, no, no, I can't go into a panic attack right now.
"IRIS!!" Grayson shook her shoulders. "NO! Get the fuck away from me asshole!" Iris said as she tried to push him away. She felt like a bucket of maggots had been poured inside her shirt. She felt dirty, filthy and gross.
"Iris what has come over you sweetheart? You weren't like this before.." Grayson said, his face morphed into fake concern but she could see the anger and the bloodlust shining in his hazel eyes.
"Don't TOUCH ME!!" She exclaimed as she finally got him to take his grubby hands off her. And he had the audacity to act hurt. This bitch should get a fucking award for his acting.
"Hey, hey, hey." Ethan stepped between the father and daughter. "Sir, I will have to ask you to back away right this instance." Ethan said, in a voice so cold, that it could have withered a blooming flower.
Grayson held his"There is nothing going around here son. Just a father and daughter reconnecting after a decade. Ain't that mija?"
"Don't listen to him. He is a world class manipulator and a habitual liar. Get him the fuck out of here." Iris spat out, her voice poisonous.
Ethan turned to look at her, his eyes asking if this was the man who she had a restraining order against. Iris nodded subtly.
"I'm sorry sir, but you are causing a scene in a hospital, where people are sick and they need the quiet."
"No problem so- what's your name?"
Don't tell him, don't tell him, don't-
"Dr. Ethan Ramsey."
GODDAMMIT ETHAN. Just can't keep his fucking trap shut. She knew, that he would come for Ethan.
"Well Ethan, I don't mean to cause any problems. I am just here to take my girlie for a coffee.. have a chat." He smiled in a friendly way but, everybody knows that the term 'chat' means thrashing.
"I SAID NO. I don't want anything to do with you asswipe."
"How dare you-" Grayson's face twisted into a furious scowl. Iris just cowered behind Ethan.
"Sir, with all due respect, leave." Ethan said as two security guards started moving towards them.
"Alright, alright. There is no need to be so aggressive. I am nothing but a old man. What would I do? Beat up someone?" The last question directed towards Iris, his eyes gleaming. A chill went down her back, out of intense fear.
"I will meet you soon mija... And when we will.... we will have all the time in the world to catch up."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Running.
Iris ran down the hallway, to a place where she could have some damn peace and quiet, which is kind of hard in a hospital crawling with patients, doctors and the grim reaper.
Her breath was getting frantic, and the need to breakdown was increasing with every step she took.
Get a hold of yourself Iris. It's just a little longer. You don't need to be a mess in front of him. You don't need him to have that power over you. Iris repeated that as a mantra as she half walked, half ran down the never-ending hallway, away from her haunting past.
She was just crossing the nurses' station where, Aurora stood, reading through her charts.
God, please don't notice me. I don't have it in me to face another heartbreak. Iris prayed.
A few nurses greeted her, and Iris nodded and smiled politely before her eyes landed on Aurora's cool, calculating ones. She quickly averted her eyes away, so that she would not betray the inner turmoil in her.
But, Aurora knew. Iris had that look in her eyes as if she would shatter like a porcelain vase. So, she shut her chart and followed the red head.
Iris had reached the lift, pressing the button continuosly, so that it could hurry the hell up. After what seemed like an eternity, it finally came and she stepped into the elevator. She pressed the button leading her to the basement.
There is a old on call room which is pretty faraway from the hospital's main rooms. So even if she broke things, screamed and howled, nobody would know.
She saw the doors closing and she let out a tired breath when Aurora nimbly slipped into the lift.
Can't I catch a fucking break?
"What happened, Iris? Seems like you saw a ghost. You look hella pale." Aurora asked as she leaned in the wall across Iris.
Iris grimaced. If only she knew that she was not very faraway from the truth.
"Nothing." She said as she looked down at the floor.
"I know it's not nothing, Adara." Aurora said quietly. Iris' eyes snapped up.
"Aurora please. Just let me be." Iris pleaded, looking up at the screen showing that she had just reached the second floor.
"Don't fucking lie to me.Something is going on, I can see it in your eyes." Aurora said as she stepped and stood before her.
She placed her hands on her cheeks, forcing her green eyes to meet with her dark brown ones. "Please tell me Adara. Please let me in. Please don't shut me out this time."
"Aurora....I don't want to hurt you. I am cursed. Don't waste tears on a dead woma-" She said as tears filled her eyes.
The lift shuddered to a stop. And it was dark for a moment before the emergency lights switched on. She turned towards Aurora, who was slowly realizing the situation they were stuck in.
The lift was stuck and so were the both of them. And this time, there was no escaping for Iris.
I had to type and retype this so many times because it just didn't feel perfect..
Anyways, the next chapter will be the finale and after that will be the epilogue. I am so excited ;)
like and reblog :)) let me know what you think

Chapter Three by Julie (paynesqueen)
Her night was obviously not going the way he had thought it was headed. Watching Liam from afar, she couldn’t tell just how much he had to drink. But when Liam came back to her, she noticed the way he held on to the furniture to steady himself and she knew then that he was in no shape whatsoever do anything else but sleep. He came next to her and put his arm around shoulders.
“Let’s go to back to my place.” He slobbered in her ear.
“Yeah, let’s get you back to your place.” She agreed as she helped him towards the door. She noticed Louis looking at her with his thumb up. He was oblivious that this was not going to end up with her and Liam fucking.
She brought him back to his place where he proceeded to take off his clothes and she had to stop him right before he took off his boxers. In all honesty, she should have stopped him before, but the striptease was a sight to see. Pulling him towards his bedroom, he tried multiple times to kiss her and she succeeded to avoid them all. When she put him in bed, he tried to pull her with him, but before she could tell him no, he added something that completely froze her in place:
“I want you, Lisa.”
She knew it was his ex-girlfriend and she realized in that moment that he was still no over her which she completely understood. After all they had been together for a long time and that betrayal of hers must have been really hard on him. She knew that if tonight they had slept together, it would only be to either forget her or he would have imagined being with his ex and it’s something she didn’t want to go through again. She had made that kind of mistake in the past, realizing too late she was only a substitute. Don’t get her wrong, she was all for one night stands, but she wanted it because the guy wanted her and not for getting back at someone else or because they couldn’t be with the one they actually wanted.
“Get some sleep, Liam.” She had replied ready to leave, but when he grabbed her hand and begged her to stay, she gave in.
She didn’t get in bed with him though. She sat in the comfy chair near the bed and waited for him to fall asleep so she could slip away. Only she had fallen asleep at her turn and woke up when the light from outside became unbearable. He was still fast asleep and she tiptoed out of his room and his flat hoping not to wake him up.
When she came back to the flat, she noticed that Livia was nowhere in sight, but the mess was still there which was one of the reasons why she came back as soon as she was up; she didn’t want her sister to be stuck with all the cleaning. Sighing, she started cleaning up hoping that her sister had had a better night than her. About an hour later, there was a knock on the door and Louis entered without waiting for her to answer it.
“Aren’t you supposed to be working?” She laughed. “Or did they finally get tired of your tardiness and fired you?”
“Nah I just called in sick.” He chuckled. “I decided to go home and change and come and lend a hand to Livia in the cleaning. Where is your sister?”
“Nice to know you would only help for my sister.” She retorted. “And I don’t know. She wasn’t here when I came home.”
“Huh...” He frowned. “I guess Niall got her to do something with him. I’m surprised, but oh well might as well help you now that I’m here.”
“Louis as much as your help would be welcomed you obviously didn’t come here to help ME out. Spit it out. Do you like my sister?” She questioned him.
He passed his hand in his hair looking away and she knew then that her intuition was right; Louis did like her sister. Not that she surprised by it or even jealous. If he told her they wouldn’t sleep together anymore because he wanted to go out with Livia, she would be happy for the two of them. The only thing was she didn’t know if her sister would consider it.
“For how long?” She asked this time. “And I swear if you go and tell me you started having feelings before anything happened between you and me, I’m seriously going to kick your fucking ass.”
“Love, I know how you feel about guys sleeping with a girl while having another one in mind. Believe me, it hasn’t been that long. I guess you could say the past year, I did feel something change in the way I viewed your sister, but when I slept with her, it woke something in me. Something I hadn’t felt in a long time.” He admitted.
“That must be nice.” She smiled. “Look, I can’t speak for my sister. I don’t know where her head or her heart is at the moment. The only thing I can tell you, Lou? Is that if you actually want to be with her, you need to let her know and then let her decide.”
“What if she doesn’t feel the same way?” He sighed. “That Niall guy came in her life a few days ago and he already made her feel something. I have known you girls for years and I don’t think she ever reacted that way with me.”
“Louis you have to understand you were fucking sleeping with me for the past six years. She doesn’t know that you have feelings for her. She just thinks you were always there for a good time. Plus, she was in a long-term relationship with a guy so she never looked for anyone else. You have a chance to have a shot with her now because she’s finally single so before you start acting like you have no chance, why not go and try to make her know that you are indeed interested in more than just shagging her.” Julie exclaimed.
“I sort of told her last night. I mean I’m not sure if she took me seriously or not.” He informed her. “I know her head isn’t into a relationship right now so I don’t want to mess it up with her.”
“Look, Louis. I’m going to tell you one last time so you can understand me. Let her know you want more with her. Let her know that it’s not a joke and it’s not a way to get into her pants whenever you feel like it. Let her know you’re for real. After that, you can just let her decide what she wants. Is it clear?”
He nodded and she smiled; “Good. Now since you are here, you can help with the clean up.”
“God you Cooper girls are so bossy I swear.”
But he grabbed the bag from her hand and started to help her out.
++++
Liam woke up his head throbbing and regretted immediately the number of beers he took the previous night. Honestly at the beginning of the evening, he felt confident enough that he could win over Julie and get her back to his place but as the night went on, his confidence waived and he started to drink more and more until he went back to her trying to convince her to join him. She did but not in the way he had hoped for her.
The memories of last night were still a bit blurry, but he remembered the gist of it. Getting up, he went to the bathroom, swallowed two Tylenols and hope it would help with the headache. He seriously needed to get a grip on himself before he spent all of his money on alcohol. But first thing first, he was going to go see his neighbour and apologize for his actions.
He knocked on her door a few times while he rehearsed his apologies for her. Not that he did anything that was embarrassing enough, but he felt like he needed to apologize. Perhaps if he hadn’t gotten drunk last night, he might have actually scored with Julie. She was interested in him, that much he was sure. When she opened the door, his thoughts vanished. She was wearing a bathrobe and his mind suddenly imagined how she must be naked underneath. He then looked at her face and stopped when he noticed the smeared salsa sauce in her hair and face and frown in confusion.
“Do you mind coming back later? I’m in serious need of a shower.” She said to him gesturing her the proof he had already noticed.
“Then why did you open the door?” He smirked.
She narrowed her eyes at him before replying; “I’m polite like that. So see you later?”
Before she could close the door, Louis came into view wearing only a towel around this waist; “Julz, I think I might have used all of your hot water. Sorry, love.”
“I’m going to kill you, Tomlinson. You’re seriously the worse best friend a girl could ever ask for.” She groaned. “You can help me hide a body right, Liam?”
He laughed and decided to offer a hand to the poor lad; “You can always use mine if it will stop you from getting thrown in jail.”
“Thanks, mate. See Julie, there’s always a solution to a problem.”
He walked away just as Julie threw a shoe at him avoiding it by mere inches.
“You’re my fucking problem, Tommo. Fine, Liam, I accept your offer. I’ll just grab my stuff.” She finally agreed before leaving him alone.
“Do I want to know what happened here?” Liam asked Louis when the guy came back into the kitchen.
“Well we were doing it on the kitchen counter when we sort of forgotten food was on it you know.” He answered.
Liam was trying hard not to show how he wished he hadn’t heard that when Louis started laughing; “Kidding. We just had a food fight. Just trying to get a rise out of ya, mate.”
“Not really funny.”
“Oh it was for me. Oh well, I better go back home again and change. I’m leaving Julz. I’ll see you on Wednesday for our movie night with Liv.” He shouted before slapping Liam on the back and leaving the apartment.
Liam stood alone in front of the door waiting for her to come back. He wondered what were the possibilities of sharing that shower with her, but finally decided he needed to make up for last night before hoping that anything could happened between the two of them. She came back carrying a bag and he opened the door for her.
“Wow! I didn’t know gentlemen still existed.” She giggled. “I guess that’s what happens when you spend your time with a guy like Louis.”
“Well, you obviously don’t hang out with the right kind of guys then.”
“Perhaps. Thanks again for the offer. I really hate taking cold showers.” She smiled at him as they entered his flat.
“The pleasure is all mine.”
He sat down on the couch as she went directly to his bathroom. As he waited for her, he wondered if he should offer her some food or drink. He didn’t know whether or not she would linger long enough for them to chat or if she would head straight back to her place.
When she came out of the shower dressed and her hair dripping, she sat down next to him. She looked so at ease in his home and it was really a weird feeling.
“So why did you come by today? I wasn’t expecting to see you before a couple of days after trying to get over that hangover.”
“I came by to apologize for my behaviour.” He admitted. “I don’t usually get that drunk at parties.”
“Look, I know why you did and you have nothing to apologize for. Hey, I got a free striptease. Can’t really complain about it.” She smiled at him.
“What do you mean you know why I did it?”
“You called me Lisa last night.” She sighed. “I get it that you just broke up with your girlfriend and you’re still trying to get over her, but I’m sort of glad you got too drunk to even be able to do anything, because honestly, I feel like you would have slept with me for the wrong reasons.”
He opened his mouth to reply and she stopped him; “Look, I don’t say that I don’t want you or that you don’t find me attractive. I’m saying that last night you called for her. She is still on your mind and she is still calling all the shots. You would have slept with me to either forget her or imagined that you were actually with her.”
He couldn’t really deny anything she said because Lisa was still on his mind. And hadn’t he said that hooking up with someone might get Lisa off his mind prior the party? It only been about a month since the break-up and he was still a mess.
“I’m not trying to tell you what to do. I know that if we ever do sleep together, I want it because you just want a good fuck and want it to be with me and not as a substitute. I’m probably the last person from who someone should take advices from because relationships are a big no for me, but try dealing with your break-up before trying to hook up with a girl.” She went on.
“I can’t say you’re wrong. I just don’t know how to handle it. I mean, it’s the first time I ever felt love and hate for someone I dated at the same time. It’s a feeling so intense that I end up drinking to suppress it. But I’m not stupid; I know I can’t go on doing that.”
“Why don’t we try something? Each time you feel like you’re about to lose it, you come and get me. We’ll talk, we’ll have ONE drink or we’ll go for a walk just to keep your mind off it.” She offered.
“Honestly, I think I’d like that. Just so you know you might just get bombarded by texts of me needing the help.”
“That’s what friends are for, Li. I’m gonna go now. I’d like to get this cleaning done before the end of the day. Hand me your phone.”
He gave it to her as she entered her digits in it; “Now you have your own amateur shrink at your service.”
She patted him on the thigh and got up grabbing her stuff. He walked her to the door and watched as she opened the door to her own place.
“Julie, wait!” He called her and she turned her head in his direction; “You know next time, you can sleep next to me if I ever asked you to stay. I have an excellent self-control.”
“Perhaps, but mine is not that good.”
With a wink, she closed her door and he closed his. As he leaned his head against the door, he thought about the conversation he just had with her. He had not expected to make a new friend, especially one he would rather see naked under him, but he had no doubt that she was actually the kind of friend he needed at the moment.

Y/n’s POV-
Nose wrinkling, my slumbering body slowly regained consciousness. Groaning quietly, I craned my head upward to check the digital clock resting on the nightstand beside my bed.
2:46 AM blinked back at me. The neon blue lights casting an illuminating glow around my bedroom, disappearing for a second before reappearing the next. Disappearing and reappearing again. The cycle repeats.
Feeling a crick in my neck, I let my head fall with a soft thud back onto my pillow. My long black hair pooled around on the white pillow, as I realized there was an unusual silence in the room. Reaching my hand to the left, it met nothing more than a vast sea of blanket and empty air.
I slowly turned around, seeing no one beside me.
“Where’s Jaehyun?” I mentally questioned. The disappearance of my boyfriend also explained the lack of sound, normally he’d be quietly snoring beside me at this time. But for some reason, he was gone.
Feeling curious, I carefully swung my legs out of bed, throwing the warm comforter off of my body. Deciding to see where Jaehyun had gone, I walked across the room to grab my sleep robe and slipped on a pair of slippers.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not usually one of those clingy girlfriends but something just felt off tonight. It’s nearly 3 in the morning, why in the world would Jaehyun be out of bed? From what I’ve learned in the past 2 years I’ve been dating him, I know that he loves to sleep.
Nearly every morning when I try to wake him up and make him go get ready, he’d pull out his puppy eyes, doing aegyo in order to convince me to stay in bed with him for a few more minutes. It would always result in him falling back asleep with his arm wrapped securely around my waist from behind, and me having to rush to get to work on time half an hour later.
But lately, things have been changing. It feels like Jaehyun’s been drifting away, his mind occupied by god knows what, or rather, god knows who.
I should’ve been able to read the signs earlier, but I remained blind to the truth. Oblivious to what was going on until now.
I walked out of my bedroom and was almost immediately met with Jaehyun’s voice coming from downstairs. He was laughing at something and that was when I realized that he was talking to someone.
It appeared that he was in the middle of a phone call, located somewhere in the kitchen below me. Just as I was about to walk down the stairs, I heard something that made my heart plummet into the depths of my stomach.
“Don’t worry about her, babe. Y/n’s asleep.”
Tears pricked at the back of my eyes at the endearing nickname rolling off my boyfriend’s tongue, one that I thought was reserved for me only.
Remaining quiet, I slowly leaned my back against the wall behind me, head resting on it as I continued to listen in. The cool plaster sent tiny shivers down my spine, but I remained pressed against it finding the desperate urge to stay.
The voice on the other end of the call was too quiet to hear, but from what I could tell, that person was a female.
“I miss you too.”
These four words broke my heart even more. It felt like an invisible force was ripping my heart into tiny pieces. As much as I’d like to deny it, any fool could tell what was happening.
“Not him too,” I whispered, tears slipping down my face. I raised my hand to my mouth as I stifled a sob, back sliding down the wall so that I was now seated on the floor.
This wouldn’t be the first time something like this has happened. I caught my last boyfriend cheating on me with one of my best friends, ever since then I’ve had trust issues. Jaehyun was the one who came along and helped me out from my low place.
He showed me that not everyone in the world was like that, and almost instantly I fell again. Harder than ever before for the male who held my hand when I was recovering from the depression I had fallen in.
Now it was all happening again, but this time I was getting betrayed by the person who saved me before. The very man who I thought would be the one, who apparently had been hiding devil horns behind his angelic smile.
“I love you too.”
That was the final straw. Not able to stand it anymore, I stood up and crept back into my bedroom.
SIlent sobs wrecked my body, as I climbed back into bed. “How could he do this to me?”
I curled my legs into my chest, ugly wails slipping from my lips. Fortunately, the walls were soundproof, or else Jaehyun would’ve heard me and known that I had heard him. Many girls would rather give their boyfriends a piece of their mind, but right now I just wanted to be left alone to wallow in my sorrow.
Jaehyun was the first person I had let into my heart after the incident with my last boyfriend. Now all the pain from the past was coming back ten-fold as I laid there watching as history was repeating itself again.
“What did I do wrong?” I choked out, beginning to question my self-worth.
Am I really that ugly? Idiotic? Disgusting? Is the thought of me really that repulsing, that I’m not worth staying for? Why do I keep getting left behind?
All of my questions remained unanswered of course, met only with unbearable silence. Eventually, the tears running along my cheeks slowed as my tear-ducts ran out of water and all that remained were the fresh wounds from the events I had previously witnessed.
Jaehyun walked back into the room ten minutes later, guilt flickering in his eyes as he looked at my figure lying in bed as if it never left. The low lighting hid my puffy red eyes and the tears resting on my face. He slipped under the covers with me, slinging his arm around my waist like he always did. Pressing his chest against my back like everything in the world was normal.
Like he wasn’t just caught cheating.
Like he didn’t shatter my heart.
I wasn’t able to fall back asleep again that night, but the sound of Jaehyun’s breathing deepening signified that he had. During the time that I lay there on the mattress, a plan devised in my head, knowing that if I stayed here pretending that I didn’t see what I saw, I would’ve killed myself.
At 5:30, I worked my way out of Jaehyun’s embrace.
It didn’t take long to pack away a luggage full of all of my most treasured possessions. Or rather, most of them. I left everything that reminded me of the male laying on the bed that I occupied twenty minutes ago.
Jaehyun was still asleep when I finished, lying peacefully on the bed, completely unaware of my departure. Before I walked out the front door, I quickly scribbled down a note and put it on the dining-room table.
I put my luggage in the trunk of my car, before sliding into the front seat and starting the engine.
It was still dark out because the sun hadn’t risen yet, the peaceful hours of early morning a stark contrast to the storm brewing in my soul.
The realization of what I had just done hit me as I was aimlessly driving forwards.
I had thrown away any chance of ever fixing the relationship between Jaehyun and me.
Thrown away my last chance of happiness.
Like they had a few hours ago, tears raced down my face, blurring my vision.
My grip tightened around the steering wheel in anguish as I started to loudly sob at the pain of getting my heart broken again.
The crying was wearing out the last of the energy stored in my body, as I barely got any sleep last night. The 2 hours of rest didn’t suffice, as I could feel my body and mind slowly start to shut down.
Not caring at all anymore, I allowed my eyes to start drifting close. “Goodnight night, Jaehyun-ah… Sweet dreams, love.”
My hands slipped off the steering wheel, head laying to rest on it instead. Unable to think or process anything anymore, my eyes were very barely open.
Red and white lights raced closer in the last sliver of my vision.
And a split second later…
a crash followed.
Jaehyun’s POV-
I yawned softly, waking up to the sun gently hitting me in the face. I turned around expecting you to be there, but you weren’t.
Panic started settling in, as I didn’t hear the sound of water running from the shower either.
Climbing out of bed, I ran to the bedroom door, yanking it open to see if I could hear your voice anywhere.
The house was completely silent.
Fear started coursing in my veins as I dashed downstairs, running around like a maniac to see where you had gone.
Green.
A small green post-it note was lying on the table.
Walking up to it, my worst fears were confirmed when I read what it said.
.
_________________________
I hope you find the happiness
that I couldn’t bring you in her.
Love, y/n

.
Not believing my eyes, I started yelling out your name hoping that this was some sort of prank. Hoping that you’d appear out of nowhere and hug me like you always do, while assuring me that you’d never leave.
But that didn’t happen.
Tear after tear started falling out of my eyes and I fell down on the ground in denial.
Deep down inside I knew that this was my fault, that I was the reason why you left.
And it was only with your absence, did I realize what a big fool I was to let the most precious person in my life slip away as if she were never there in the first place.
2nd person Pov-
Jumping into action, Jaehyun called everyone he knew, stammering out an explanation in-between his sobs.
Search parties were formed among his friends and family, but everyone came back empty-handed.
Jaehyun had proceeded to run all around town in a desperate attempt to find you, but you were far gone.
Giving up, Jaehyun’s body collapsed due to exhaustion. He was laying in the middle of the grass on an empty field, conscious but having lost the will to move.
A rain-droplet fell out of the sky, landing on his cheek followed by another. Soon it was pouring, but he remained there accepting it like the world was punishing him for his actions.
Abruptly, his phone started to ring in his pocket.
Jaehyun quickly extracted it, hoping that someone had found you and that you were safe in their company.
While it was true that the bearer held news about you, it wasn’t good news.
“Hello, is this Jung Jaehyun?”
“Y-yes, who is this?”
“My name is Lee Hyunsoo, I’m one of the doctors working at Seoul Eunpyeong hospital. A young woman named Y/N Y/L/N was admitted into the emergency room at approximately 6:14 AM, we believe that she’s your girlfriend-”
Jaehyun immediately hung up, running to the sidewalk in order to catch a taxi.
He told the driver the address, handing him $100 more than he asked for in order for him to drive quickly.
The drive lasted for 5 minutes and Jaehyun ran out, dashing into the hospital.
All eyes were on him as his hair and clothing were soaking wet, but he didn’t notice at all. “Y/L/N. Y/N Y/LN. WHERE IS SHE?”
The startled receptionist gave him the room number and Jaehyun desperately sprinted to go find it before the woman even finished her sentence.
Not bothering to slow down while rounding corners, Jaehyun slammed into several walls while turning, but continued to dart past nurses and patients as he ran forward to find the wing you were being kept at.
Only when he was right outside of your door did he slow down.
“Y/n,” Jaehyun whispered as he stepped inside the room.
Your lifeless body was laying on the single hospital bed in front of him.
Cuts littered your face and covered every inch of exposed skin peeking beneath your hospital gown. Bruises trailed dark purple paths dancing in large spots across your creamy skin. And your eyes, that once beamed with youth and liveliness, were hidden behind your closed eyelids.
The only sign of life from your battered body was the occasional, slow rise of the bed sheets with every breath you took.
An IV tube hooked up to the bed was injecting some type of medication into your bloodstream, and a heart monitor was displaying your pulse to the left of the bed.
Jaehyun took slow steps forward, sitting down in the visitor’s seat beside you while taking your hand in his.
Sobs starting coursing through Jaehyun’s body once again, for the nth time today.
He leaned down, resting his forehead on your hand while he cried there. The only other thing that could be heard besides the silent crying was the steady beat of the heart monitor. The green lines hopping upwards before falling down again, with no sign of the outcome of its patient.
“I-I’m so sorry,” apologized Jaehyun, before shaking his head vigorously. “N-no, I’m more than sorry. Oh god, how could I have d-done that to you? Please, someone, kill me right now.”
Silence ensued again once Jaehyun finished his silence.
Deciding to continue, he started to explain his actions slipping in apologies wherever he could along with self-deprecating comments.
“You deserve so much more than me, I’m nothing more than a careless, heartless scumbag. I don’t know what I was thinking, I’m s-so sorry. Please believe me, I-I didn’t mean to cheat. I swear, I n-never meant to break your heart. I-...”
Jaehyun broke down further, his tears running down more rapidly. He feverishly rubbed his eyes with his sleeve but it didn’t help as new tears replaced the old ones.
“I know that nothing can explain my actions, but please let me try. I-I’m not sure what h-happened but I guess it started the day I saw you playing with Doyoung Hyung. Y-you guys looked so happy talking, I guess I f-felt forgotten. Especially with the w-way your eyes lit up so easily, and h-how warm your smile was at him. I-it made me so insecure, I shouldn’t have been so childish and stupid… That was when I met Lea, she looks so m-much like you. My heart was so confused. And then she s-started her advances.”
He cleared his throat, trying to stop stumbling over his own words due to his tears.
“I… I was selfish and started seeking her love. Her smile and laugh mirrors yours, whenever you weren’t there I went to her so that it felt like you were always by my side. It was like I was so far lost in my own lies that I started seeing her as you. Y/n you have to believe me, I was only with her because she reminded me of you…”
“Please don’t leave… I can’t live without you,” he continued shakily, tightening his grasp on your hand before easing the pressure so as to not hurt you. A single tear slipped out from the corner of his eye, traveling down his pale cheek, before joining others at the tip of his chin and falling onto your hand.
A hand that Jaehyun feared he’d never be able to hold again.
“I love you, y/n.”

To Begin Again: Chapter 6
Jamie passes through the stones on Beltane to 1968.
A/N: A chapter to establish our favorite couple to the 20th century! Were going to the intense parts next but we'll also get to more good parts soon! Thank you so much for reading, I appreciate it all! ❤️ As always, comments and suggestions are always welcome!
CH: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 AO3
Jamie stood frozen of the manse’s doorway, transfixed in observing the wonders of the 20thcentury.
He didn’t know what they were called yet and couldn’t conjure memories of Claire’s stories to properly identify the things around him but he saw them, heard them, and he was incredibly curious.
The ticking of the clock.
The light from the lamp.
The paintings on the walls and table that seemed to copy the likeness too precisely.
The ringing of the telephone that made him jump in surprise.
Other than that, everything else seemed the same.
The heat from the fireplace.
The furniture around the house.
The make and build of the house.
Yes, he can – no, he will – adapt just fine.
Claire felt how deep he thought when Jamie, she bet unconsciously, started squeezing her hand tighter. “Are you alright? Do you need a moment? Do you want to go out for a little air?”
Jamie released a breath he didn’t know he was holding. “Nah, Sassenach. I’ll do, just tell me what everything is and I’ll make do” he gave her a small, sad smile that softened her.
Claire didn’t have a doubt how Jamie would fare in the 20thcentury but she knew she’ll need to help and convince him of the same idea as well. Releasing her hold on his hand, she laced her hands at the nape of his neck, focusing him on her. “Jamie, I’m here. I will never leave you again.” She pulled him close for a kiss and just as their lips were about to meet, Jamie’s stomach rumbled.
“Ach, I dinna mean to break your thoughts, Sassenach, but – “Jamie pointed to his tummy area as the noise made itself known again.
Claire rolled her eyes, exasperated a humorous sigh and settled for quick peck on his lips. “Ugh, all right. Breakfast. But Jamie, we have to clean you up first?” He wasn’t overly filthy but a good hot shower might bring him a little comfort.
“Darling, remember when I told you about the hot baths?” Claire asked as they climbed up the stairs to the second floor of the house.
“Aye” Jamie nodded, remembering, as she stopped in front of one of the doors, opened it and led the way.
“So, this is a bathroom. It’s where we take a bath, shower, clean up…” Claire began to explain. He heard her but he was more focused on how Claire moved within the small space. She pointed to a faucet where the water comes from with a turn of a knob, taught her how to use the toilet and flush, pointed to a deep tub and lastly, showed her how to use and adjust the shower.
It was marvelous and Jamie had to admit, as new as he was to all this, he couldn’t wait to have his try.
Jamie was wearing breeks, long shirt and a vest when he passed through. No kilt, she noticed. She knew it was banned after the Battle of Culloden, along with many Scottish traditions Jamie grew up with and she have grown to love. He made his move to take off his pants but stopped to look at her.
As happy as a reunion this was, it was not lost on both of them that the truth remains that they have been parted for twenty years. Physically, they were strangers and yet their souls called to one another, each claiming the other still. The heart wants to push but the head wants to pull, the battle was raging, both unable to stop it at the moment.
“I’ll be just in the other room. If you need me, just call” Claire turned to leave in understanding but just as turned the knob, Jamie hugged her from behind.
“I dinna want you to leave, Claire, but I dinna want you to see me like this, all mucked up, dirty, the first time you really seeme.” he softly said. Claire sighed and rested against him in understanding. Jamie moved his head closer to her ear and whispered. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it again. I want you, Claire. I want you so much I can scarcely breath but would you mind if we waited a bit still?”
“We waited almost twenty years, what’s a few hours more?” Claire turned around and gave Jamie a kiss on the cheek. “Now, bath. I’ll try to fetch you something to wear. If I’m not back by then, use this” Claire handed Jamie a bathrobe, hoping it would fit his size, and left Jamie to his devices.
Half an hour has passed and Jamie hasn’t emerged from the bathroom. Claire was starting to go hungry herself but wanted for Jamie and her to have breakfast together. Another minute and she decided to check up on him.
She could hear the shower running – still. A smile crept on her face as she probably knew why Jamie was taking so long. Opening the door, she let herself in and sat on the toilet.
“Now I know why ye’ll leave me for this, Sassenach. These hot baths are heavenly. It’s been a while since I’ve had time for a proper washing and I canna seem to finish this bath just yet” Jamie said, smiling, eyes still closed, allowing the water to rush through him.
“Told you they’re glorious. Feeling refreshed yet? I want to eat and I think you’d forgotten your hunger in all these hot water” Claire chuckled and then heard the water suddenly cut. Jamie reached out a hand over the shower curtain asking for a towel and Claire gladly gave it. She could hear him padding himself down and when Jamie pulled back the barrier, he was naked from the waist up, the towel secured on his hips like a kilt.
She should look away. After the awkward moment of undressing earlier, they were walking on pins and needles at the moment, trying to navigate the 20thcentury - and each other - still. But she couldn’t help it.
His pelvic area was directly in front of her face and she could just outline where hewas. Her eyes travelled upwards, his abdominals looking as defined as ever (she should ask him how a man in his 40s have kept up in such amazing shape).
Moving up still, now to his broad chest, she could see droplets of water falling across it curved span. Her fingers twitched, aching to touch the delicious specimen before her. She bit her lip and bravely looked up to his face, stared directly to his eyes and conveyed every wicked thought that passed through her mind to her glass face.
Jamie must’ve caught on, a smirk forming on his perfect mouth. “Sassenach, if you continue to look at me like that…” Claire sighed loudly, interrupting him, as she decided that to hell with time, they needed each other now.
But just as she was to tug him away, Bree called from the hallway.
“Mama, I bought some clothes I think Da could use for now” she said, holding a white long shirt, a pair of black slacks, a belt and some hotel slippers, she managed to find in the manse’s storage. “Roger and I found it. Hope it fits but if not, I can look for more or shop. Also, hurry up because your breakfast is getting cold”
It was then when Claire opened the bathroom door and Bree realized she was talking to an empty bedroom door. Walking over to her mother, she raised her eyebrows in an apparent amused knowing, then gave her the stuff. “Thank you, Bree. We’ll be down shortly.”
The tension was palpable but the moment was broken. Claire handed Jamie the clothes and left him again to change. She told him to come down afterwards for breakfast.
Claire found Bree and Roger just about to finish their food on the table, two empty plates beside them for Claire and Jamie.
“Do you have plans for today?” Claire asked Bree and Roger. Both shrugged in the openness of their schedule.
“I need you to do something for me”
-
Jamie came down the stairs to find Claire, Bree and Roger in discussion. He purposely walked a little louder to interrupt them just in case that they were talking about him.
He wasn’t just long in the bath because of the hot showers. Truth was, he was too lost in his own thoughts to have noticed the time gone by. While in the shower, Jamie contemplated a lot of things now that he’s in the 20thcentury.
Obviously, he was not of this time – by logic, he’s technically 245 years of age and supposed to be dead.
He’s not uneducated but surely, what he knows now is archaic and irrelevant. He can learn but what use of a man of his age in this century where everything seems to be too advanced?
He also knew that in this time, he is not known nor acknowledged by law and paper. Was he supposed to go in hiding for the rest of his life here? He wouldn’t allow Claire and Bree to live that kind of life. Can he go back? Will he go back?
Too many questions, all of them unanswered. He shook his head and tried to push it all away.
Bree noticed him first just as he stepped at the bottom of the stairs. “Da!” she called out naturally, surprising Claire and Jamie, both, but nonetheless, pleased.
“A nighean” he called out with a slight bow and Claire was immediately by his side. “Are ye leavin’?” he asked as he saw Bree grab her bag and Roger his keys.
“Yes. Roger, erm, is going to show me around the university he works at. I’m thinking of maybe signing on to take some classes while I’m here.” She flushed a bit and Jamie knew it was already the half truth but didn’t press. “We’ll be back by dinnertime”
Bree, then, proceeded to hug her mother and then turned to Jamie with an open arm as invitation too. He took it, the hug lasting a second more than necessary, then they were gone.
Alone once again, Claire took stock of how Jamie looked. The long shirt looked a little too big, with the sleeves hanging over his shoulder but nothing a good fold can’t fix. His slacks, however, fit well in the waist but with his height, hanged over his ankle. His long hair was drying, the curls slowly going back to their original shape.
“Do I look okay to ye?” Jamie nervously asked.
“Oh, darling, you look so fine, I’m almost deciding against what I had planned for us today” Claire replied, teasing.
They both sat to eat their breakfast while Claire was teaching Jamie everything that was around the house that he might not have an idea on. Jamie, ever the student, was diligent in listening as she explained everything and continued the conversation with follow-up questions until the food was gone and they have to leave for the day.
“I’ll just take a quick shower before we leave, feel at home” Claire said as she disappeared upstairs. Jamie toured the house on his own, going about each room, checking which is which and where is where. Touched things that looked harmless enough, observed how things functioned. Eventually, he sat down to the couch and grabbed a book, Gulliver’s Travels – a title he knew and read well to kill the time. He must’ve been too entranced because he didn’t hear her come down until he Claire hugged him by his shoulders from behind. “Let’s go” she whispered in his ear, her breath tickling him, and he almost needed help standing up.
The first stop for their trip was the barber. Jamie’s hair was far too long for Claire’s liking and thankfully, Jamie didn’t protest nor seem to mind the idea. “It’s no as if it won’t grow back, Sassenach?” They cut it short where his nape was left bare but the tendrils were long enough for Claire to comfortably run her hands through.
Their next stop was at the department store. Claire wouldn’t forget Jamie’s first reaction to it – open mouth in wonder, eyes looking everywhere, body humming with both anxiety and excitement. The items lay so plenty and full, he doesn’t have an idea how to rummage through it all. She wondered how much more surprised he’d be going to the grocery.
“I thought we’d buy you a couple of things to survive you in this century.” She grabbed Jamie by the hand and led them to the men’s department. The female attendants were more than willing to help Jamie measure his body to get his proper size and she let them just to watch Jamie get uncomfortable by so much female attention. It was harmless – most of them in their 40s or 50s – plus she was there to supervise if someone went a little overboard with her man, she’d easily glare at them to back off.
They got several long shirts, slacks, shirts, denims, shorts, sleepwear, shoes, undergarments and hygienic items.
Jamie let Claire handle everything. He wasn’t a vain man by nature but all she’s buying seems necessary as per her explanation. Before they left, she asked Jamie to change into his new clothes – a light blue long shirt, black denims matched with black boat shoes. When he came out of the dressing room, Claire could feel the entire room and floor have their eyes on him but he only had eyes for her. He was so striking; she could almost cry because of his beauty.
“Wait here” she said as she slipped in to the dressing room for her change of clothes. She emerged and Jamie let out a small gasp. Claire changed into a navy blue dress that came just below her knee, with a deep neckline and sheer sleeves. She purposely matched Jamie’s color scheme for tonight was a special night.
“I look okay?” Claire sheepishly asked a still-gaping Jamie Fraser.
“Okay? Ye look so bonny, Sassenach” Jamie said appreciatively. At the end of the dressing room, a full-length mirror caught their reflection and Claire smirked at little devilishly. He looked dashing and she looked not bad herself and together, they just stun. They were beautiful and the world was going to see it. She grabbed Jamie by the hand and they went home.
-
The sky was dusk by the time the left the store and the drive back looked lovely with the orange sky combined with the emerging city lights. Claire and Jamie, again, exchanged questions and answers about what everything was and she was pleased that Jamie was adapting fairly faster and better than she hoped.
But a few minutes before they reached the manse, Claire noticed Jamie’s silence and was suddenly on alert. Before they walked to the door, she couldn’t take it anymore. “Jamie, what is it?” she turned and focused on him.
Jamie’s face was flushed and serious. “I’m sorry, Claire. I’m sorry that you have to explain everything to me. I ask for ye’re patience. I promise I’ll learn what I have to as quickly as I could but until then, I’m afraid I am at your mercy”
“What? Jamie, patient with you? Do you remember how you taught me everything I had to know in the 18thcentury? How you translated every song in Gaelic that I couldn’t understand? How you ate with me in the hall because no one would sit with a Sassenach, an alleged spy of the English? How you would defend me to the clansmen who thought against me? How you led me back to safety each time I got too stubborn for my own doing?” Claire began explaining as she gently caressed Jamie’s cheek. “I have all the patience in the world for you”
Jamie nodded in understand but Claire could see in his eyes that there is more. “What else?”
“Our daughter? She – She knows…everything?” Jamie quietly asked.
“Yes. She does.” Claire said proudly. “But Jamie she’s only known a week. She’s still adjusting to the truth and now that you’re here, I know she feels just beyond overwhelmed. But I know our girl, she loves you already, and you’ll get the chance to get to know her now”
“Aye, I know how she feels” Jamie said dejectedly. Coming through the stones was something they never thought was possible. They tried before but to no avail. But today has been an embarrassment of riches and she is with Claire and their child and he will do everything in his power to keep them with him. But the world has rapidly changed around him and Claire is the only constant in them. She had to be the strong one for all of them until they he and Bree can patch their own way together and for Claire, he will do just that. “Dinna fash, Claire. We’ll all make do eventually.”
He opened his arms and quickly, she is wrapped in his embrace. “Thank you, mo ghraidh”.
“I missed this.” Claire said contently. “I missed you.”
“And I, you, Sassenach. Do you ken why I was at the stones yesterday? What today is?” Jamie asked, hopeful.
At first, Claire’s brows furrowed and Jamie felt his heart drop a bit, Have she forgotten a lot from our lives?, he thought. He couldn’t blame her, it has been twenty years and she had Bree, medical school, a lot in her life in the last two decades.
His thoughts were interrupted by a giggle that reverberated in his chest. “You should see the look on your face right now,” slightly patting his chest. She looked up and looked in his eyes, willing them to focus on her and cradled his face in her hands. “Jamie, I remember everything about our time together…everything.”
In the solitude of the deserted driveway, she pulled him down to her, closing the distance between them and slowly captured his lips in a long kiss. “Happy Birthday, Jamie. I am so happy you’re here and that I get to spend today and everyday with you, from now on and for the rest of our lives…I mean, if you’ll have me, have us”
Jamie gave her the broadest smile, “Sadist”, he jokingly remarked and captured her lips in a chaste kiss and she laughed while their lips were connected, the hum that passed through made his heart swell. “And Claire, I’ll always have you”. They continued to kiss and he brushed his tongue against her lips, requesting access. But she pulled away, confusing Jamie.
“I’m sorry, love, but don’t have time for that just yet” Claire pulled up a black fabric and looked at Jamie. “Do you trust me?”
“Aye.”
She smiled as she pulled it over his eyes and secured it at back of his head. She grabbed his hand and led him through the house. Jamie, having scoured it earlier in the day, was almost sure they were at the backyard. He freed his eyes and the sight before him had his heart melting.
“SURPRISE!!” Fiona, Roger, Bree and Claire exclaimed. The backyard was decorated with vintage string lights that gave the night its intimate glow. The long table was filled with food of different kinds and cuisines but he can spot the Scottish treats they put out as well.
It was a bonny night and Jamie turned to Claire, his perplexed look slowly changing to one of awe. “I love you, mo chride”. He lifted her chin and brought their lips together in a quick but deep kiss. “I love you, too”
Brianna cleared her throat and her parents. “Well, if you are finished?”
They all ate in contentment, exchanging stories of the day and how the surprise came to be. Jamie was right, the half truth of Brianna’s excuse earlier in the morning, it somehow pleased him that in the few hours he’s known his daughter, maybe, he can read her just like her mother. Claire shared how the women swooned over Jamie in the department store and Fiona just complained how Roger tried to help with the cooking but was no use at all. Roger told of his new colleagues in the university and how the office pranks have begun on them.
They talked and laughed until the night was high, food was gone and the wine was thoroughly consumed. Fiona started to pack up and Roger rose to help her haul the dishes, leaving the Fraserfamily on their own.
“I was travelling back from Edinburgh when I stopped by the stones. I do it often just to talk to you, Claire, and imagine what you’d say to me. I know it’s daft but it’s the last place where we were together and sometimes I feel like I could hear your voice answering to me.” Jamie broke the silence. “Jenny told me to come home and spend time with family and by the miracle of the last 24 hours, I do.” He extended a hand to each of his lass and they took it. “Thank ye, both, for making this day the best one I’ve had in my life so far” He kissed each hand in gratitude.
They heard a click of the camera and three heads looked up to Roger who couldn’t help but smile himself. “I know it’s been a long night but I thought, maybe, you’d like to mark this day?”
Before anything, Claire explained how the camera worked and how the photos are developed. “What is captured in each click is what you’ll see in the photos later” Bree chimed in before they started.
They rose up and posed in the light. Luckily, Roger had kept a few rolls of film at his disposal and didn’t mind at all using it to the reunited family.
The first few shots were of the three of them – Jamie had his arms around both his lasses, another where Bree was sitting with both her parents at the back, one hand each on her shoulder, a few shots of Claire and Bree only when Jamie had to excuse himself to the loo.
When he came back, Claire was waiting for him to pose just the two of them. Jamie immediately went to her side, his arm on her back, snuggled together – a perfect fit. Roger called out for them to pose a little more.
Arms around each other smiling towards the camera,
Claire angling her body closer to Jamie’s,
Jamie lovingly gazed down at Claire when she wasn’t looking,
Claire looking up and smiling at Jamie’s face,
Jamie giving Claire a peck on the cheeks,
Them looking at each other like they’re the only people in the world,
Both leaning in for a kiss,
Click.
-
It has been an eventful 48 hours that nobody realized that everybody’s been awake for that long. After their dinner, they all retired for a much deserved rest.
Bree retreated to the newly arranged bedroom, giving Claire and Jamie their own.
They both changed in the bathroom, still a little hesitant to be that intimate with each other. When Claire entered, Jamie was already sleeping, his body angled to his side. She thought he’d wait for her but apparently not. She laid down beside him and observed his face, a finger tracing his features and highlighting new lines in his face that wasn’t there before. They both grew up and grew old and surely there is a story that they may or may not want to hear.
But nothing else mattered tonight but this. Everything else can wait for tomorrow.
Slowly, she run her hand at the back of his neck and there it was – a tug of his lips that formed a small smile. Jamie was happy and so was she.

Danny Fenton stood inside the dark tunnel of the only portal his parents couldn't get to work because he couldn't say no to a dare. He tripped on his way out. Now he has to deal with figuring out how to come out to his parents as being half ghost, while dealing with all the ghosts that come out of the portal.
Tucker and Sam stare at each other.  For a handful of moments, neither is entirely sure what they should do.  Sam is full of shock and anger and regret and terror.  She could've died.  Her best friends could have died.  How is a teenager even meant to process that?  She wants to curl up on the ground and hide from everything in that moment, will all the nasty reality that is Ghosts away.  But Tucker is bent over Danny, and Danny is out cold.  So she packs away the emotions, cools her shit, and bends down.  "You get his legs, I'll take his shoulders.  FentonWorks?"
They get him there.  Danny's parents are downstairs, working on something.  They get Danny on his bed, and Sam slumps against the door.  Tucker and Danny skipped over a detention essentially and all three have skipped school.  So Tucker goes down to erase the Fenton's voice mailbox and sends out a bug to his own.  Sam has no clue why he has that ready but asks if he can do it with her folks' line.  He asks for a few minutes. The silence passes, Tucker gets on Danny's laptop.  He always fled to the tech when he needed somewhere safe.  Eventually, he asks.  "You ok?  Today went to shit."
"No, I don't think I am.  Like, the worst I've got is some bruising that my make up can handle.  I need a shower, I guess."  They both know why she isn't actually ok.  Neither wants to bring it up.  So instead, Sam checks Danny's closet and finds something she'd left there a couple months back.  "I'm gonna do that actually.  Keep an eye on him?" Tucker grunted in acknowledgment.  That was the best she'd get so Sam grabbed a spare towel from the dresser and headed to the shower.
When Sam got back she looked over Tucker's shoulder.  Images of old ladies in familiar looking uniforms were all over the screen.  "Looking her up?"
"If we know more about her then we can talk it out with her right?"  Tucker's fingers paused over the keyboard.  He stretched, looking over at her.  "Right?"
"Probably.  Looking to work that Foley Charm on her?"  Sam elbowed him lightly in the ribs.  Tucker clutched his chest as though he'd been broken.  Thank gods for that smile on his face.  "Tell me you aren't planning to flirt with her.  Danny might get jealous."  Tucker snorted.
"I don't think Danny is into old ladies who occasionally burst into flames." Tucker went back to typing and clicking, screen light glaring off his lenses.  "So, my theory is that ghosts draw on ambient energy to sustain themselves.  When we went into that fight my phone was on like… 50 percent.  When we got here it was at 17.  So maybe we should carry batteries on us?"
"And our wrist rays."  Sam was never letting herself be helpless like that again.  "what've you got on her so far?"
"She said the menu hasn't changed in 50 years and she wasn't kidding.  So I'm looking back at people employed by Casper back when she was alive, and hoping I can recognize her facial structure."
"Impressive."  Sam sighed and looked over at Danny.
He zipped up his suit.  Sam made a face at him and pulled off the logo of his dad's face.  "You can't go around with this on your chest."  He agreed. If Danny ever met aliens of the extradimensional kind, he didn't want them to see his dad's face plastered on him.  Danny walked into the tunnel that was his parents' ghost portal, looking all around it.  The whispers of those other worlds called out in his head again.  As he walked deeper into the portal, Danny saw nothing wrong.  Not a nut or bolt out of place.  He got to the end. It was dark.  Too dark to see anything.  Turning back, he kept a hand on the wall to steady himself.  His foot hit a raised panel, and Danny leaned to the left for support. There was a click.
Danny opened his eyes and saw Sam looking down at him.  Not unusual.  The soreness in his muscles, however, was.  Danny stopped mid-stretch and winced.  "Oh. Right.  20-foot meat monster."  Tucker was at his desk, turned around in the chair and giving him that frown he had when Dash had slammed Danny into a locker.  "How long was I out for?"
"Four days."  Tucker reached under Danny's bed and lifted up a bag of Nasty Burger.
"Four Days?!"
"Nah, like, 2 hours dude."  Tuck chuckled and handed him a wrapped burger.  "You need this dude, that fight took a shit ton outta you."
“Don’t I know it.”  Danny unwrapped the burger and sank his teeth in.  He'd been hungrier than he thought.  It felt like a blink before the burger was gone.  "Thanks, dude, I really needed that.  We basically skipped lunch, didn't we?"  That thought had a horrible domino effect and Danny tore the burger wrapping in half.  "Fuck, my parents are gonna kill me!"
"I erased the voicemail from your box, mine, and Sam's.  Don't worry about that."
"Speaking of, how ya doin Sam?"  Danny turned, looking his friend over and wincing at the bruises on her arms.  “Fuck, the meat pile did that?”
“Yeah, turns out being grabbed up by a bunch of proceeded corpses can do some damage.”  Sam shrugged.  “It’s nothing I can’t fix with some concealer and sleeves.”
“It’s still warm though,” Danny said.  “You good baking yourself?”
“The heaters in the school barely work, and it’s nearly October, Danny.  Things have cooled down plenty.”  Sam frowned and looked over to Tucker.  “Do head injuries affect the perception of temperature?”
“I’m sure they can.  If only someone hadn’t summoned up a meat-obsessed lunch lady with a menu change.”  Tucker paused and raised a brow.  “Actually, how in the hell did you even get them to change it?  Nevermind the why.”
“The why, Tucker, is that schools need to promote healthier changes in the food we consume.”  Sam had that fire in her eyes.  Again.  Danny let out a long sigh, which went ignored by his bickering friends.
“And removing an entire food group from the menu was your solution?”
“It’s one we don’t even need Tucker!  Do you know how inefficient the transfer of calories from meat into our bodies is?”
“We need protein, Sam!  If there’s anything that the Lunch Lady said truthfully it’s that!  Look at Danny!  He barely gets any protein, you can see how that’s turned out for him.”
“My dude, I’m not the only skinny person here.”
“And whether or not we have meat and protein isn’t your decision to make for us all, Sam!”  Tucker glared balefully at the vegan and stood up from Danny’s chair.  “You had to be an individual and have all your individual needs met over what anyone else wanted, didn’t you?  No one but you even wanted this menu change and I’m going to fix it!”  Tucker stormed out of the room, leaving the door open.
“Oh like Hell you’re gonna undo all my hard work!”  Sam barged out as well, completely forgetting Danny as she slammed his door shut.  And Danny stared at that door for a moment before groaning into his pillow.
“This is going to be a whole thing, isn’t it?”  For several moments, Danny laid there and stared up at the constellations he’d put up on his ceiling in glow in the dark stickers.  His stomach reminded him of its existence, and Danny groaned again.  He still had some allowance left, so he went out and headed to the Nasty Burger.  Considering Tucker’s words and how much he’d done that day, Danny ordered a full meal.
After he’d eaten and walked it off on the way home, Danny let what had happened that day go through his mind.  Even as he fought off a small angry blob with his wrist ray, growling at it.  “Ghosts aren’t mindlessly violent beings. I know that.”  He needed to believe that.  “So, that means that she can be calmed, somehow.  She kept going on and on about the benefits of meat, and she died years ago…”  An email notification popped up on Danny’s computer, and he sighed.  “Right, homework assigned by Lancer.  What would I do without Tuck?”
The next day, Danny pulled on one of his darker shirts - a gift from Sam with some constellation’s accurately displayed - and some jeans.  His parents didn’t come up to join him and Jazz that morning, which was likely for the best.  Danny didn’t need their ghost radar pointing at him before he could figure out how to break their biases.  The second his cereal was finished, though, Danny pulled out his journal and attached pencil.  “No,” Danny snapped when he heard Jazz take a familiar breath.  “It’s not a diary, no you may not read it.  For the 11th time, Spazz.”  One weird benefit of super hearing - I can tell when she’s about to speak.  Everyone had different rhythms for when they spoke and when they were thinking etcetera.  Danny knew his sister’s patterns almost as well as Tucker and Sam’s.
Danny wrote into his journal a goal of recording his encounters with apparently sapient ghosts and how quickly he managed to pacify them.  If only he could think of how to pacify this one.
Once the hybrid got to school - later than he would’ve been had those damned blobs not been so interested in fucking with him - Danny groaned as he was dragged to the Vice Principal’s office.  There he found Tucker, who was glaring down at the desk in just the right angle to look like he was glaring directly ahead.  A trick he’d developed for gathering valuable passwords while tricking Lancer and other authorities into thinking he was just a semi-rebellious teen.  Danny couldn’t tell what Tucker could possibly be trying to gather from the desk now, but he may have just been scowling.  Tucker was complicated that way.
“Take a seat, Mr. Fenton.”  Danny obeyed and took his seat, looking steadfastly at the space just behind Lancer’s head.  “Tell me, gentlemen, how and why did you leave my office when both of you were already being punished for starting a food fight in the cafeteria?”  Before either could come up with an answer, Lancer slammed his hand down hard on the desk, and Danny flinched.  “What could possibly have possessed you two to skip school for the rest of the day?”
Danny squirmed a bit, while Tucker took even, obviously measured breaths.  He then looked up at Lancer directly.  “We were worried about Sam, sir.  She hadn’t answered any of her texts, and she always answers even when we’re fighting to make sure we know she’s safe.”  Not untrue, Sam wouldn’t have been able to answer a text if they tried that.  Danny nodded along to Tucker’s story.
“We left out the window to find her, which took forever since she had gone to find a way to help organize something for the school.”  Danny put on his most apologetic face.  “We’re truly sorry about ditching you, Mr. Lancer, but we had to make sure our friend was safe, you see.  We wanted to make sure none of the jocks or anyone had gone and done something horrible to her as revenge for getting the menu changed for a week.”
Lancer glared between the two of them for several seconds more, and Danny fought to keep himself still.  “Fine,” Lancer finally allowed.  “I will be following up with Ms. Manson to confirm all of this, but you won’t be receiving too harsh a punishment for looking out for your friend.  For endangering yourselves by leaving through the window, however, and for leaving without simply telling me, you will be serving both lunch detention and after-school detention.  Do you understand, boys?”
“Of course, Mr. Lancer.”  It amazed Danny, at times, that he and Tucker could speak in unison.  They were like twins.
“Dismissed.  You two best not be late to my class.”
On the way to class, Danny brought up his thoughts on trying to appease the Lunch Lady.  “Her name is Agatha,” Tuck said.  “Agatha Reece.  And maybe you could, I dunno, teach her about the health crisis in America?  Help me organize the school to reform the menu the right way?”
“You want it changed too now?  I thought you were gonna get it changed back early, or something?”
“Oh no, the food around here sucks either way.”  Tucker rolled his eyes.  “I just wish we had like, a better storage of better food in general.  I could recommend my uncle and aunt’s farm for fresh, nearby food products.”
“If only we knew how Sam had convinced the school to do this whole ‘vegie week’ thing.”  Danny shook his head.  “That’s what really doesn’t make sense to me.  We’ve only been in school for like, a month or so.  How the hell did Sam ‘wear them down’ so quickly?”
“No clue,” Tucker growled.  For a moment the hair on Danny’s nape stood on end at the sound.  “But, I’m going to make a petition, and head around the school getting signatures for a better permanent change decided on by the students.”
Danny patted Tucker’s shoulder and nodded somberly.  “Leave some printer paper for the rest of us at least?”
Tucker raised his nose, Danny now straining to hold in the laughter in front of the door.  “Sorry Danny, but a man on a mission has to go to all lengths to complete his quest.”
Danny bowed at the waist.  “Of course, Friar Tuck, how could I possibly forget?”
“You are forgiven, peasant Daniel.”  Tucker laughed and pulled Danny into the classroom.  Things would be alright.  Danny just needed to weather the storm and make sure both of his friends were still friends by the end of it.
It proved far more difficult a task done than said.  The three had most classes together, but Tucker was busily writing something down every few seconds in a second journal in his desk while he worked.  Tuck had the most fascinating form of ambidextrousness.  He barely paid any attention to Danny’s attempts to start a conversation and crumpled up any notes about Sam he slid over.
Similarly, Sam was ignoring him almost entirely.  She took her notes, but every time she caught him whispering to Tucker, she glared and went cold on Danny himself.  Am I not allowed to talk to both of my friends?
Lunch came around, Lancer had them eating in his room, and Danny had never been more grateful to Tucker’s mom than he had been when Tuck handed him an extra bagged lunch.  “Tuck, you are the best.”
“I know it, dude.”
“Gentlemen!  This is meant to be a time of quiet reflection upon your misdeeds.”  Lancer glared at them until the teens went to silently eating, and Lancer went back to whatever he was doing on his computer.  If Danny focused on the man’s headphones hard enough he could pick up the faint sound of… blasters?  Weird.
At the end of the day, however, while the two were meant to be heading to detention, Tucker was going around and asking groups of friends who were lingering about something and holding up a clipboard that Danny was almost certain he stole from his dad’s office.  Along with that pen.  Never was Danny ever earlier than Tucker to something, but apparently, detention was one of those things.  Sam, surprisingly, was also there.
“Lancer got you too?”  Danny asked as he swept a bit nearer to the goth
“I was gone all day.”  Sam shrugged, pushing the few remains of grass and mud into a pile and then grabbing a dustpan.  “Plus I wanted to help clean it up anyway.  We need this place to eat in after all.”
“Actually, I heard Jerry and Katelyn at least were eating on the theater stage.”  The two scooped everything up into a trash bag with the dustpan.  “They were inviting some other people to bring sandwiches and chips and stuff.”
“Oh wow,” Tucker called out from where Danny was very sure he shouldn’t have been able to hear them.  “No one wanted to eat garbage right from the ground?  I’m surprised, shocked even.”
“Had you actually been there to see, Tucker, there were plenty of people eating peacefully in the cafeteria today!”  Sam looked downright murderous and stomped off to clean away from Tucker.  Danny sighed a heavy sigh and shook his head.
The detention had gone on for an hour, but it’d felt like forever.  Danny watched both his friends march off in different directions and groaned.  Another friendless night for him.  After a trip to the Nasty Burger, Danny did a little walk around the city.  A few ghosts that he could see when the world lost focus skittered away from him, or ignored him entirely.  Some attacked, but his wrist ray had yet to run out of juice even though he forgot to charge it last night.  “Maybe something to do with my other self.  Gonna have to ask mom and dad about that.”  A shiver ran down Danny’s spine, a puff of mist coming out of his mouth and he looked around, letting his senses shift into that surreal state of his ghostly self.  He saw nothing out of the ordinary.  Relaxing, Danny sighed and headed home.
"Danny!"  His dad, Jack Fenton, only seemed to speak in exclamation marks. Danny wondered if he'd ever had an inside voice.  "C'mon, dinner's ready son!"
Danny raised a brow.  "Who cooked?" He'd eaten his Nasty Burger meal and was pretty sure he got all he needed.
"I did!"  On the other hand, more food that wasn't infected with ectoplasmic residue sounded nice.  Danny set down his bag and headed into the kitchen, where his dad had set out chicken, mashed potatoes, garlic bread, and spinach.  His mom and sister were already sitting and eating, and Danny gave them both a wave.
"Hi, Danny!  Juice is in the fridge.  Jazz reminded your father and I we need to refresh our minds with some air every now and then.  I thought, why not a family dinner?"  Mom shrugged as she picked up a chicken leg.  "Jack insisted on cooking."
"Mom," Jazz said in her best calming voice, "Dad never mutates the food."
While Mom and Jazz debated who had the bigger mishaps with ectoplasm - Danny felt the Christmas turkey and Dad dragging them into a world of blinding perpetual light ranked as the biggest mishaps period - Danny grabbed himself a plate and fruit punch.  Jazz clearly grabbed some groceries before telling their parents to surface.
Halfway through his meal, a thought struck Danny.  "Hey Dad, Mom?  How does ectoplasm interact with electricity in its rawest most natural form?  The ectoplasm not the electricity."
Jazz stared at him in betrayal, Why written in her expression.  His parents, however, jumped on the thought of their son having an interest in their work.  Danny had never seen his dad swallow food that fast.
"Ya see Danno, ectoplasm as it is when we retrieve it is naturally an energy thief.  In relation to electromagnetic radiation, it soaks in any and all of it from the area with the exclusion of green visible light.  That's why it feels so cold."
"If we can refine our engines properly we can utilize the flip side of  that natural state," his mom added, "We could revolutionize energy efficiency in technology around the world!"
"It can store up a lot of power, but once it hits it's maximum?"  Dad held his hands together then spread them out so fast he almost smacked Jazz and Danny.  "It all comes out in an intense burn!  Ectoplasm is either plasma hot or cold as space.  When it's cold, it'd drain the power out of everything around it."
Danny nodded, letting the info process for a couple of moments while he ate.  "So if, say, a ghost was to eat human food…?"
"Well," his mom twirled her fork around.  "It likely wouldn't, but if it did the ghost would soak up all the energy that could be gotten out of the material in the food, leaving nothing but ashes."
Danny nodded, curiosity satisfied, and steered the conversation elsewhere.  Once he was done clearing off his plate, Danny was struck with a realization.  It was the sort of thing that happened all the time, when a thought lingered in his head, waiting to present itself.  Usually, that was artistic inspiration.  Now he knew exactly how to calm down Agatha.  Up the stairs, he ran to his computer.

Chapter 10: Exhale
“Beth? Hello?” Billy snapped his fingers at the girl writing away very intently in front of him. He sighed, snatching the paper out from under her nose. “Earth to Beth!”
Her face jerked up at the sudden movement, brows furrowed together.
“I know you’re in advanced English and this is important, but did you hear anything I just said?”
Beth pressed her lips in a thin line, dropping her pencil onto the wooden picnic table. She’d barely touched her lunch and she didn’t have the heart to tell Billy that paper wasn’t for advanced English.
“What’s the deal with you today?” he asked.
In the distance, the bell rang for lunch period to be over and she rolled her eyes. Letting out a frustrated breath, she stood from her side of the table, taking the paper back from Billy’s hand and replacing it with her untouched sandwich.
“I’m sorry,” she rounded the corner of the table, “I know tonight is incredibly important for you and I promise to have myself back together by then.” She placed her lips lightly to his jaw. “I’ll see you later.”
Billy played one heck of a game. Beth didn’t realize just how proud of that boy she was until he finally emerged from the coach’s office alongside Steve and a few other seniors. She was the only one sitting in the hallway, jumping up the instant she saw his foot step out. She threw her arms around his neck, his hands tugging her waist closer. He still smelled of salt and sweat.
“You should be proud,” she mumbled against his skin.
Billy pulled back with a grin, thinking about what her dad had said, “I am.”
Beth followed him out to the parking lot as he briefed her on what was discussed during the meeting with Coach. He had positive things to say and she could tell that Billy was secretly a little excited.
She propped her body against the metal frame as he continued to ramble on for a few more minutes. He lightly knocked his foot against her, gaining her attention.
“Hey, what’s up with you today?” he asked lowly.
She shrugged, pushing herself off the Camaro. She jerked the door open to her own and threw her bag into the passenger seat.
Leaning on her hood across from Billy, she crossed her arms over her chest. It was a little chilly and she was still in her uniform, leaving her legs bare. She stared down at the ground, drawing invisible patterns with the tip of her shoe.
“You can tell-”
“I haven’t applied for college.” she cut him off.
Billy’s forehead wrinkled in confusion.
“I’m griping at you about needing to explore your options and I haven’t even applied myself.”
Beth saw a flicker of irritation pass through his eyes, but he was quick to dismiss it. He shook his head after a few silent moments. When he didn’t say anything more, she rounded the vehicle to get ready to leave. Taking a few quick paced steps, he caught up to her before she could slam the door.
“Don’t stress,” he began, “You’ll figure it all out.”
He wasn’t very good at this reassurance stuff. But he tried.
She let out a shaky, irritated-with-herself sigh, and Billy pressed a kiss to her forehead.
Beth fiddled with the corner of her paper as she eyeballed the short haired girl sitting peacefully across the school library. She hadn’t spoken to Nancy in months. And when she had, it was only in passing when she would babysit Holly.
She mustered up enough courage to push her feet forward and across the open library.
“Hey,” she said, her voice unsure.
Nancy’s lashes fluttered up from the papers she’d been focused on. A small smile formed on her lips.
“Hey, Beth,” she replied sweetly. “Can I help you with something?”
Beth wiggled the papers she’d been distracting herself with.
“Would you mind reading over my essay and giving me feedback?”
“No, not at all.” Nancy cleared the books spread out across the table, condensing them to one area. She patted the open space next to her. “Sit.”
Beth finally wrapped up the finishing touches of her essay, opting to go ahead and put it in the mailbox even though it had been dark outside for a few hours now. She let out a sigh of relief as she made her up the driveway and back into the quiet house. Her parents were gone for the night which meant she had the place to herself.
It was half past eight.
She trotted up the stairs, grabbing a clean towel from the linen closet along the way. She would take a refreshing shower and head back downstairs to spend the rest of her night watching whatever cheesy movies were rerunning. Or so she thought.
Billy knew Beth was planning to be home by herself tonight. He also knew that she’d been stressing over college applications all week. When he knocked on the front door several times and never got a reply, his concern heightened. He creaked the door open cautiously. Her coat was hanging by the door, sneakers discarded on the ground. The television in the living room hummed lowly. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
Billy proceeded inside and closed the front door behind him. That’s when he realized the shower upstairs was running. And then he smiled when he heard a familiar voice.
The grin on his face only grew as he headed up the stairs and down the hall, the lyrics becoming more apparent with each step. He pressed his ear to the bathroom door briefly before cracking it open. When the singing didn’t crease and the water didn’t shut off, he eased his way inside.
“Do you come from a land down under? Where women glow and men plunder? Can’t you hear, can’t you hear the thunder? You better run, you better take cover.”
Beth turned the water off, continuing to hum the tune stuck in her head. She grabbed the towel draped over the top of the shower curtain, wrapping it around her body before jerking the curtain back to reveal Billy Hargrove leaning up against the wall.
“Holy- Billy freakin’ Hargrove!” Beth jumped back, her shouts quickly interrupted by Billy cackling. Her hand rested over her chest, feeling her heart race. “I could strangle you.”
He took a few steps until he was in front of her, “You’d miss me.”
Even with all the steam congesting the air, she could feel his breath against her skin, the smell of nicotine stinging her nostrils. She felt the temperature rising in her cheeks. Not from the heat or that she’d been caught belting in the shower, but at the realization that she was still in a towel. Billy’s eyes darted over the water droplets sitting on her skin. He nibbled his bottom lip, bringing his eyes back to hers.
“Go get dressed,” his voice was low, “Something warm, and I’ll be waiting downstairs.”
Once clothed and in the Camaro, Beth sat in the passenger seat braiding her hair that was still somewhat damp. Billy hadn’t let on to where they were going or what that were doing. He’d already passed the exits for any of their usual getaways, leaving her in the dark.
Billy parked the Camaro at a clearing overlooking the city. Beth stood against the open door, admiring the tiny lights in the distance. She’d lived in Hawkins for years not knowing this place existed.
Billy rounded the front of the car, extending a hand for her to take. He pulled her into his side.
“I come up here when I need to escape,” he spoke, “I used to do the same thing in California.”
He pushed himself to sit on top of the hood, Beth readjusting between his legs to lean against him. He pressed his mouth to the back of her head as her thumbs rubbed circles onto his forearm around her. A breeze sent a chill through her body. It was quiet. She couldn’t hear the chaos of the city below.
Much like Billy, Beth had never really loved Hawkins and had only grown to hate it more within recent years. But tonight, at the top of this hill, things were calm.
“You know I applied to colleges out of state, right?”
Billy hummed, “I would be mad at you if you hadn’t.”
He fumbled with the Marlboro carton in his pocket, lighting a cigarette soon after.
“You don’t deserve to be stuck in this stupid town.” His arms found their way back around her. “The day I met you, you had taken my parking spot. But instead of running back to move it to keep me happy, you said good luck and walked off. And then,” he chuckled, “you had the guts to flirt with me at the pep rally.”
Beth let out a laugh.
“There have been very few people to put me in my place. And you did it day one, no hesitation. You were sure of yourself. Nobody or no thing should ever take that away from you.”
She smiled, peppering his hand with kisses.
“English,” she said, snuggling further into his chest. Billy looked down at her, puzzled.
“What?”
“English,” she repeated. Tilting her head back to look up at him, she took the cigarette sitting between his lips and tossed it to the ground. “You and I were supposed to be English partners back in the fall. You missed the day Mrs. Adams handed out assignments. I knew you missed frequently and didn’t want to carry all the weight, so I convinced her to pair me with someone else.”
Billy mouth turned down as he nodded.
“Wait, we have English together?”
Beth laughed, “Nah, but we did. I switched blocks before Thanksgiving break.”
He hummed against the skin of her neck, sending chills down her spine.
“So what you’re saying,” She swore his voice dropped an octave as he spoke. “is that I really should have met your fine self sooner.”
“Maybe if you hadn’t skipped class so much. Seems to be a trend with you.”
“Fair.”
She leaned into him when his lips found her temple.
“I don’t think I would have been ready for you then, honestly,” she whispered, twirling the ring on Billy’s finger around and around until she became lost in the motion. He placed his hand over hers to cease the movement after a few moments.
“Are you ready for me now?”
She turned her back to the scenery below, facing Billy. “Depends, are you ready for me?”
Her eyes flickered between his baby blues, searching for something. He pushed the braid over her shoulder, tucking a few stray fly aways behind her ear. The calloused pad of his thumb swiped gently at her cheek. His other hand found its way to her cheek and pulled her in, lips connecting. She released a breath she didn’t even known she was holding and tugged him closer by the jacket as their mouths moved in harmony with one another.
He was more than ready.

The One Moment- Ch5: Roommates
Tumblr media
SERIES MASTERLIST - PART 1 - PART 2 - PART 3 - PART 4 - PART 6
Chapter Summary: So, you’ve done the whole “love” thing. What’s the next step?
Genre: Fluff Fluff babeh
Words: 1647
Warnings: Shock horror, I have none. Not even swearing (that I could see)!
You and Jared walked back to your apartment hand in hand. The snow was crunching beneath your feet and you were much warmer now that you had your coat. You were thankful that Lacey had the sense to send him along with one. You had called her while you were in the bathroom to apologize, and was grateful she wasn’t angry and just happy he had found you and that you were ok.
You looked up at Jared with a smile and gave his hand a gentle squeeze before resting your head on his arm, keeping pace with him. You were embarrassed about your behavior tonight but he didn’t seem fazed or ready to run for the hills as a result… Quite the opposite in fact, he’d told you he loved you! The relationship felt like it had reached a new level and more than ever your heart was swelling at thoughts of where this might go.
“What are you thinking about?” he asked gently, releasing your hand and opting to wrap his arm over your shoulders, ensuring to keep his pace at yours.
“Just that I’m happy. Happier than I’ve been in a long time,” you replied with a smile.
“Are you feeling ok?” he asked concerned.
“I’m ok. You stopped me before I got too drunk, and that water helped a heap.”
“That’s not what I meant.”
You sighed. “Oh. Yer I guess I’m fine. Disappointed in myself mostly. A year is supposed to be a pretty big deal. And one week after getting my damn chip I blow it, all over that asshole,” you grumbled.
“Can I help you this time? I mean, I’d like to go to meetings with you if that’s ok?” he asked cautiously.
“I wouldn’t want people thinking we’re there for you though,” you frowned. In the 3 seasons the show had been on the air it had gained a decent following of fans, and people would often pull him aside for autographs in the street. It was something you weren’t accustomed to and while you were so thrilled for the success of the show and its stars it did make you more wary about ensuring his image wasn’t tainted by anything or anyone. Like, say, his recovering alcoholic girlfriend.
“I don’t care what anyone thinks about it,” he scolded. “Besides, aren’t these groups supposed to be anonymous?”
“Sure it is,” you shrugged. “Don’t know how they’ll react to having a celebrity join them though.”
“So Robert Downey Jr never made an appearance at your group?” he asked with a smile.
“Nah. We’re too upper-class for him,” you joked.
It was only a short walk back to your place, and to Jared’s car, so before you knew it you were standing at your front door. You were about to head up the stairs when Jared pulled you back lightly.
“Hey, I was thinking,” he started, turning you to face him. “Why don’t you grab a bag with some overnight stuff and some spare clothes?”
You looked at him with raised eyebrows. “Um, I can’t tell if I’m drunk anymore so I’m not sure if I imagined that but, did you just…?”
“I’m asking you to kind-of move in. A little bit. I mean, I’m not talking about splitting the rent with me and Jensen and going out to buy furniture together or anything, but it’d be nice to have a reminder of you in my room when you decide to stay here. It’d feel like you’re around even when you’re not. And you know, it makes sense if you’re going to be staying at mine for hot steamy sex on a regular basis,” he concluded with a massive grin, causing you to burst into hysterics.
“Oh sweety, that’s all kinds of romantic! How could I possible refuse?” you replied, closing your eyes as you leaned in for a kiss, and you were instantly warmed when his lips touched yours. You reluctantly let go of his hands to head up the stairs, thinking the entire way with a grin about what to pack to leave at your second home.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You had wanted to surprise the guys with a nice hot coffee and a light breakfast, so had surreptitiously set your own alarm for 5 minutes prior to Jared’s. Like a slinky, you slid out of bed without disturbing the form sleeping next to you, and padded to the kitchen wiping the sleep out of your eyes. Eric wouldn’t need you until 9am, which was 6hrs away, so you relished in the thought of heading back to bed for a bit more sleep after seeing the guys off.
You heard Jared call your name, realizing too late that your absence might alarm him given the events of just a few hours ago. You quickly threw the oven mitt down and jogged to the bedroom, colliding with his firm chest at the doorway. Arms wrapped around you tightly and lifted you off the ground.
“Geez Y/N, don’t scare me like that! I thought…”
“It’s ok babe, I’m sorry I wasn’t thinking. I just wanted to get something together for you and Jensen.”
He lifted your chin up to face him, and you felt immediately guilty when you saw the concern in his eyes. You reached up to give him a kiss, which he passionately returned, before pulling away. You patted him on the butt playfully.
“You smell like a bar, go shower and there’ll be a coffee ready for you,” you told him, winking. You headed back to the kitchen smiling, and while you continued making their breakfast you heard both showers turn on.
Jensen emerged first, fully dressed and ready to go except for the fact he still looked half asleep. You smiled sympathetically as you handed him his coffee, and he hummed in appreciation before taking it from your hands to take a sip.
“God Y/N, I don’t know what you do to this coffee but this is incredible,” Jensen said, his eyes practically rolling back into his head. You giggled.
“Do you want a moment alone with the coffee?”
“Can’t talk, drinking.”
You laughed again as you turned your attention back to the stove, just as Jared entered the room.
“Dude, marry this woman. I’m serious,” Jensen commented with a loud sip for emphasis, and you felt your cheeks flush. Jared just chuckled and took the coffee you held out to him, giving you a thank you peck on the lips as he did.
The guys sat in silence for a few minutes enjoying their hot drink while you finished and bagged up their breakfast.
“Didn’t expect to see you here this morning Y/N,” Jensen commented casually with a raised eyebrow. “Is everything ok?”
You squinted your eyes at him suspiciously. “Did Lacey talk to you?”
He shrugged. “There may have been a message on my phone this morning, something about looking for you. Did you two have a fight or something? I noticed you have a bag in Jared’s room.”
Jared caught your eye, obviously curious to see how much you’d tell him about what happened last night. You rubbed your forehead with your hand, before handing them their bags of food which they greedily accepted.
“Last night was… long. And involved. And Jared has my permission to tell you everything on the way to work. Lacey and I are better than fine and the bag, well… how would you feel about casual extra roommate?” you asked tentatively. You’d never been in this situation before with any guy and didn’t know how Jensen would react, so you were surprised when he got up and gave you a big hug. You smiled and wrapped your arms around him too.
“You keep making coffee like this and you can stay forever. I’ll rent out your attic when you and Jared get hitched just so I can live like this until I die from a caffeine overdose,” he replied, giving you a friendly kiss on the top of your head.
You were interrupted by the door buzzing, cueing Cliff’s arrival at the apartment. You pulled away to let him get his things together, and enjoyed a cuddle from Jared before they flew out the door for another busy day of filming. You sighed in relief that the hard part was over, and headed back to bed to get some more sleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jared sat down in the car next to Jensen, greeting Cliff as he did. He hummed in anticipation as he opened his bag and started munching away at the egg and bacon sandwich you had made them, and groaned as the taste hit his mouth.
“Christ this is good,” he commented to Jensen, who was also busy tucking into his breakfast.
“What does that woman do to her food? I’m serious Jare, don’t let this one go. I think she’s the biggest catch you’ve ever had.”
Jared smiled as he remembered the happier moments of last night. “I told her I loved her man.”
Jensen’s eyes bulged out of his head in surprise. “What? When did that happen?”
“Last night. Dude you sleep like a log, I can’t believe you didn’t even notice I left the apartment.”
“Whoa hang on, back up… what happened last night? I feel like I’m missing a page from the script or something.”
Jared proceeded to tell Jensen about the events of the night prior, including the actions that lead you to drinking in the first place; by the end Jensen looked like he was ready to kill someone… namely Brad. Jared was pleased that you and his best friend had developed something akin to a sibling relationship, which only helped confirm what he already knew… you were the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.
All he had to do now was wait for the perfect opportunity to tell you that.

Part 1
-
Three and a half hours later it was almost eight and (CW/N) clocked out ready to go home after the long day. I was sitting in the comfy chair behind the counter with a book in my hands and my feet on the counter. No one was in the store this late, but our boss insisted we keep it open anyway. “Do you have to go? I don’t want to be alone for the next two hours,” I whined as I swayed back in forth in the chair. “(Y/N), I’m exhausted. I want to go home, take a shower and go to bed and maybe watch some Netflix,” she explained while backwardly trudging towards the front door with her large purse and jacket barely on her shoulders. “Fine,” I drew out then she turned around, “but I’m going to text you!” She held a thumbs up in response as she exited the building. Sighing, I went back to my book. It was quite interesting what the human population could put together. My current read was not anything out of the ordinary, but it was intriguing, to say the least. I got so caught up in my novel that I only looked up when the bell on the door rang, signaling someone had come in. I checked my phone. 9:55. Are you kidding me?! My eyesight went towards the person who dared entered this close to closing time to find the strange man who visited earlier. Our eyes meet for a moment before I looked away to grab my phone.
(CW/N), are you awake?, I texted.
A few anxious minutes later she replied with, Yeah, why?
I hurriedly responded, Do you remember that guy from earlier? The one talking about Ben Franklin?
Yeah, what about him?
He’s here now.
Not a moment after I got a WHAT then a What’s he doing there this late?
Hell if I know!
(Y/N) do you have a hardback with you?
Yeah, why?
If he tries anything, hit him with it until he’s knocked the f-
“Excuse me, miss?” I looked up from my phone. The man was standing behind the counter with a few more books in his hand. “Right, my bad.” I took my feet off the counter and rang up the price. “Alright, your total is twenty eighty-two.” He handed me money that was way too old to be from the current decade. I played it off by saying, “Uh, sir, I’m not sure where you are, but this is (Y/C).” “Oh, right, sorry. Um, give me a moment.” He searched through what seemed like the never-ending pockets of his trench coat, suit jacket, and pants. One minute and thirty-three seconds later… “Ah-hah! Here we go!” He set the cash by the books and I took it, putting it in the register. “Sorry about that, I travel a lot - get my currencies mixed up.” I gave him a forced smile as I gave him back his change. “It’s alright, don’t sweat it.” I set his books in a bag, then handed him his purchase. “Have a nice night.” Taking it, he replied, “Yes, you too.” Then turned around and walked. I got up and opened the closet to retrieve my belongings when - “Actually, I was wondering what you meant by what you said earlier.” I continued my actions with my back still facing him by putting on my jacket. “What did I say?” “As I recall, you said, ‘time travelers’ after I gave a brief story about the time I met Ben Franklin.” “Alright, what about it?” I asked as I swung my over bag over my shoulder then sat back down in my chair. “What did you mean?” “I’ve been reading a lot of science fiction novels lately and you reminded me of one of them,” I lied as I counted today’s income, still not looking at him. “That’s a lie if I ever heard one. What did you really mean?” I spun around in my chair and set the money inside the closet then proceeded to lock it with the keys I got from my purse. I turned and grabbed my phone, book (hardcover, like (CW/N) said) and empty reusable coffee cup then I stepped up to the man. “Look, I don’t know who you are and I honestly don’t care. Just get out of the store and stop asking questions before I call the cops.” He put his free hand up in surrender then walked out of the store. I sighed as my shoulders slumped. Finally, I thought. I turned off the lights of the store then left and locked the door. Should I get a taxi or walk home? I pondered as I stood on the damp sidewalk, the only source of light being the streetlamp. It’s not too bad out. I’ll just hurry up in case it rains. I looked down at my phone as I trekked to my residence, browsing social media and checking both my to-do lists and calendar. I glanced up when I reached the street corner, making sure there were no cars coming towards the intersection. “So, are you a time traveler as well?” a familiar voice inquired from behind me, startling me. I rolled my eyes as I looked at the man. “Not you again. What do you want?” “I want to know what you meant,” he responded hands in the pockets of his trench coat with a jump in his step. I was getting more annoyed by the second. “I already told you. Science fiction novels.” He shook his head while his sight was looking ahead. “Nah, it's something else. I can feel it.” We walked together in silence, though I was getting more and more irritated with each step I took. I stopped in my tracks and faced him.“Alright, let's say I was lying and let's say you were telling the truth. If you really knew Ben Franklin, tell me about him.” “Alright, if you must know…” He then proceeded to tell me things that no one could ever know about unless they were there. Wonderful, horrible, amazing things about the Benjamin Franklin discovered electricity all the while making various expressions and hand gestures to add to the tale. I stood there the entire time with wide eyes and a slack jaw, slowly starting to believe the strange man’s story. “... And then that was it. We said our goodbyes, I went back home, and the rest is history.” I shrugged my shoulders as I said, ”Alright. Where’s your vortex manipulator, then?” He gave me a strange look. “Where’s yours?” “Don’t have one.” That was partially a lie. His brows became more furrowed. “Neither do I...” I crossed my arms. “Well, how do get around then - even if you are telling the truth, that is.” “No, no I am. I have a TARDIS,” he responded as though it was the most obvious thing in the world. I furrowed my brows. “TARDIS? What is that, what do you mean?” “It’s my ship. I can show you if you like,” he replied, rocking back and forth on his heels - hands back in his pockets. I paused, thinking the situation over. Is this some kind of way for him to kidnap me? Maybe this is a trap… “Okay,” I finally told him, making him grin. “But-” he frowned, “- if you try anything, I have the police on speed dial, you hear? You better be telling the truth or else.” He wearily nodded. “Alright, then. Come on.” With that he continued forward, leaving me to follow him.

After bringing your last yut piece onto the board, you sat back, criss cross apple sauce, as Taehyung nestled his head onto your lap while you waited for Junggyu and Eonjin to take their turn.
"Looks like the royal couple is gonna win this year," Taehyung said cockily as he crossed his arms. You smiled looking down at Taehyung taking in his features, the freckle he has on his nose that you adored so much. His eyes were closed while you massaged his hair. It had been a long time since you last gave him a scalp massage and he loved it when you did that, so he hummed to the relaxing sensation. He missed the feeling.
Junggyu just gave you guys a disgusted look as he threw the sticks onto the board. But as the doorbell rung, one of the sticks rolled off the board making it a scratch for Junggyu and Eonjin. You and Taehyung high fived each other.
"Taehyung, there's a girl here asking for you," Mr. Kim yelled into the living room from the foyer as Taehyung was about to throw the sticks.
Taehyung handed you the sticks as he got up and walked to the door.
"S-Seomi?" Taehyung was surprised.
"I'm sorry." Seomi pouted as she looked at Taehyung.
"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with your family?" He asked bewildered.
She shook her head. "I came to see you, I left after dinner with my family and drove straight here. I wanted to apologize for being stupid. I'm sorry babe."
Taehyung's mother walked into the foyer, "What's going on, who is it?"
"You must be Mrs. Kim." Seomi smiled, "Ah where are my manners? Eommanim, Abeonim, it's so nice to meet you. I'm Taehyung's girlfriend, Lee Seomi," she introduced herself as she bowed.
Mr. Kim awkwardly bowed and said hi.
"Oh? Nice to meet you, Seomi-ssi. But why aren't you with your family, it's Thanksgiving?" Taehyung's mother asked.
"I had to talk to Taehyung, so I came right after we finished dinner. My grandparents are pretty old so we eat dinner very early," Seomi explained.
"Come in we're about to finish up our game of yut, we can talk after the y/l/n's leave," Taehyung invited her in.
Seomi followed Taehyung into the living room.
"These are my brother and sister, Junggyu and Eonjin. And of course, you know y/n."
Seomi smiled at you, which was so obviously forced and fake. She knelt down to Junggyu and Eonjin, "Hi I'm Seomi, your brother told me a lot about you guys. Nice to meet you." They bowed and greeted her back. Then Seomi proceeded to hug Taehyung's left arm as they sat in front of the yut board.
Eonjin gave you an Is she serious? look. And you just smiled, lips in a flat line with a Yeah I know look.
You didn't feel like playing anymore, and you certainly didn't want to get in between Seomi and Taehyung. You were the cause of their fight. So you forced a yawn and stretched, "Hey since Seomi is here now, she can join you Tae."
"But what about you, noona?" Junggyu asked.
You patted him on the shoulder. "I'm going to go home. I'm getting pretty tired, I think I ate too much," you lied.
"Well let me walk you, it's dark out and I don't think our parents will be done talking to each other anytime soon," Taehyung asserted. He was right, your parents could talk and talk for hours on end.
"No, it's okay. It's just down the street. The worst thing that could happen to me is getting attacked by mosquitoes," you declined.
"Are you sure?" Taehyung asked, his brows raised in worrisome.
"Babe, she said she'll be fine. Let her go." Seomi stepped in.
You bid Junggyu and Eonjin goodnight and waved to Taehyung, his face looked of guilt as you got up. You went to tell your parents you were headed home and thanked Mr. and Mrs. Kim for having you.
As you walked outside the air was a bit cooler, but not by much. Fall hadn't come in full effect yet so you weren't the slightest bit chilly. The moon was big, bright and beautiful. It reflected off your hanbok, making the silk and golden applique shimmer.
When you got home, you slid out of your hanbok and hopped into the shower. The hot water felt amazing on your skin. It relieved a lot of tension you didn't notice you had until you got in. After you turned off the water you leaned against the tile for several minutes. The cooling sensation relaxed you.
You threw on an oversized t-shirt you were sure used to be Taehyung's but you stole it some time ago and a pair of pajama shorts before hopping into bed. You grabbed your phone to scroll through your SNS, but you noticed a few unread messages.
Tae: Hey, I feel bad that you left early.
I'm sorry Seomi showed up.
I didn't think she'd drive all the way here, I guess she really wants to make up.
You huffed a sigh as you texted back your reply.
You: I'm fine! You don't have to apologize, she's your girlfriend.
You should make up.
You turned your phone on silent and put it on your nightstand as you rolled over under your comforter. You were annoyed. You didn't want them to make up. You would never admit it to Taehyung, but you agreed with his mother. You didn't think she was worth the trouble.
Yeah, you thought Seomi was a beautiful girl. But Taehyung and her fought so often. If it wasn't about her jealousy issues, it was about something petty like Taehyung forgetting to text or call her when he's running late. Or busy actually studying for once. Seomi had to be glued to his hip almost 24/7 or knew where he was and what he was doing when they weren't together. And if he was with you, she wanted to know if your roommates were around too.
It was exhausting even for you and you weren't in the relationship. You wished Taehyung could see what you saw. Maybe he did but didn't know how to go about breaking up with her. He was too kind to break her heart. He was stuck and you saw it. Even though he was your best friend, it wasn't your place to tell him what to do with his relationship. You feigned off your thoughts and went to sleep.
The weekend went by quickly, next thing you know, you're back at school. You lived in a lux campus apartment with three other roommates. There were four bedrooms with their own ensuites and you all shared a common room, kitchen, and laundry area. Taehyung was going to be one of your roommates before Seomi coaxed him into living with her in an overpriced studio off campus.
Your roommates were Park Jimin, Jung Hoseok, and Kang Seulgi. Jimin and Hoseok are in the same frat as Taehyung. In fact, Jimin and Taehyung were roommates freshman year and Seulgi was yours. Jimin and Hoseok are dance majors and Seulgi is a music major with dance minor just like Taehyung. You? You're a textiles major.
You had to drive Taehyung's car back because Seomi decided to stay the rest of the weekend with the Kim's.You took that as a sign that they made up. Your roommates noticed your somberness right away.
"Hey y/n, what's up? You seem down," Jimin asked as he sat down on the couch next to you.
"Ahh, nothing really. I'm just not ready for this week to begin so soon," you were mindlessly flipping through channels.
"Yeah, me too," he sighed. "Didn't Tae and Seomi get in a fight again?"
"Yeah, but they made up, how'd you know?" You looked over to him.
"I was still here when he came over, I kind of overheard your conversation, I'm sorry."
"What? No, I'm sorry. I figured you left early like everyone else since you didn't have an exam Thursday."
"Nah, I was too exhausted to leave campus after the dance recital. But it's okay, I left before you two woke up anyway," Jimin reassured you. "Look, y/n, I know it's not my place to step in or anything but I think you need to find something to keep you from being so hurt over him."
You sighed, "Yeah, I know. I need to move on."
"Hey, we're having a party at the frat house on Friday. You should come, maybe it'll help blow off some steam, yeah?" Jimin nudged. "Plus, I know how much you love my delicious concoctions," he winked.
You chuckled, "Haha okay, but as much as I love your mixed drinks, please don't mix too many different liquors at once. I had a killer hangover last time"
The week, as sudden as it came, passed by just as quickly. Taehyung tried to make up for the weekend by buying you a croissant and an iced vanilla latte from your favorite bakery near campus for three mornings straight. You told him there was nothing to make up for but he insisted anyway, and who would turn down free food, right?
Taehyung was surprised that you agreed to go to the party their frat was hosting that Friday. You weren't much of a party goer. You told him you needed a change of scenery, you wanted to loosen up. You wanted to kick back and de-stress before you'd have to start worrying about finals soon.
Friday rolls around and you're at home getting ready to go to the party. You change outfits a few times. The first outfit, a mesh sleeved tight little pleather black dress with an exposed zipper going down the front and a pair of chunky black Jeffrey Campbell booties. You felt like you'd draw too much attention to yourself so you threw it off. The second outfit, an oversized knit with a pair of ripped black skinny jeans and white low top chucks. You would have kept that but you remembered you were going to a frat party, therefore you'd be feeling stuffy within 5 minutes of arriving. Third outfit, a soft and loose, white carpenter button down with a few buttons undone to show off your cute lace bralette tucked into a pair of distressed high waisted black shorts and a black pair of slip-on loafers with gold accent bars, perfect.
You curled your hair a bit before brushing through them making it loose and wavy. Your makeup wasn't anything fancy, you went for an everyday look but loaded on the highlighter because that was your favorite part anyway. You threw on some bangles and grabbed your tiny black satchel.
You and Seulgi met up with your other roommates downstairs and walked off to the frat house. When you guys got there the party was already in full swing. Jimin dragged you and Seulgi to the bar to make you two once of his infamous drinks. You grab a beer for Hoseok and went to look for him.
You spotted Hoseok talking to two guys, one which was your favorite drinking buddy Seokjin and another whom you've never seen before. You walk up to the three and handed Hoseok his bottle.
"Hey, thanks," Hoseok gave you a side hug.
"No problem," you smiled. Then you looked over to Seokjin, "Jinnie oppa where've you been? I haven't seen you in over two weeks!"
"Ah, you miss my hilarious jokes, huh y/n?" Seokjin nudges you with his elbow.
"Nah, I just missed your cooking," you elbowed him back.
"Sorry, I've been busy helping this guy here all week." Seokjin pats the third guy that was standing next to him and Hoseok on the shoulder. "He's a transfer student that pledged in another chapter of our frat back in Busan. Introduce yourself, kid."
The guy gave you a side smirk and held out his hand, "Hi, my name's Jeon Jungkook. Nice to meet you."
You looked at him and returned his smirk as you grabbed his hand, "Y/N, hi." His hand was firm but yet felt so soft. And you noticed his biceps were begging to burst out of his henley. You couldn't deny that he was really good looking.
Hoseok leans into your ear from behind as he chuckles, "I think you two would get along very well." You lightly smack him in the chest as you turned around.
You conversated with the three guys and downed two of Jimin's mystery concoctions while doing so. You talked about what Jungkook was going to school for, a music major with a minor in dancing just like Taehyung. You told him he'd fit right in with the frat and joked that if any of them gets famous they'd better come to you to design clothes for them.
You felt loose and relaxed and you were actually having fun. You saw that finally Taehyung showed up and you were elated. You greeted him with a hug and had a little small talk until you saw Seomi trailing from the kitchen with drinks she'd gotten for him and her. She looked at you and immediately rolled her eyes before walking over and handing Taehyung a bottle of beer and giving him a kiss while you two were still mid-conversation. You weren't going to show her your annoyance, however.
"Hey babe, can we play beer pong?" Seomi asks with her signature pout.
"Sure," he nodded to her, "Y/N. you wanna play too?"
Seomi gave you a bitch you better say no look from behind Taehyung so he wouldn't see and your lips formed a tight grin before you declined the offer, "Nah, ask Jimin and Hoseok to I'm sure they'll play."
"Yes, I'm in!" Hoseok exclaimed as he went to grab Jimin and pull him over to the beer pong table. Seomi and Taehyung trailing them. Hoseok looked back at you and smiled. You mouth a relieved thank you to him.
Seulgi came over and handed you a shot of tequila. "Let's go dance hun!"
You took the shot and handed your glass over to Seokjin. Before you knew it Seulgi dragged you over to the designated dance area and you two were shaking that thang. Grooving to the music and letting loose. Namjoon, another one of the frat brothers in your circle of friends joined in with you and Seulgi doing his goofy krumping.
Seokjin and Jungkook were spectating the beer pong game. But all Jungkook could do was look off towards you and Seulgi dancing, mainly focusing on you.
"Looks like someone's taking an interest with Y/N," Hoseok noticed Jungkook's gaze and teased.
"Not gonna lie, she is pretty hot."
Taehyung looked up and saw a smug smirk across Jungkook's face as he eyed you. "Hey. She's your noona, be respectful," he warned.
Jungkook looked over to Taehyung and fully smiled, "Sorry, she really is though. I'm sure she's a nice person too, I wouldn't mind getting to know her more."
"Well, she is single," Seomi cuts in. "You should go and talk to her," she encouraged.
Taehyung clenched his jaw but didn't say anything. It's not like you weren't off the market. He didn't know why he was getting agitated but he was.
Jungkook shrugged, "Talking wouldn't hurt." He walked off towards where you and Seulgi were dancing.
You and Seulgi were having a lot of fun. Namjoon got tired and went off to the kitchen for drinks. Seulgi leaned into your ear, "Hey you know that new kid has been eyeing you all night." You looked over towards the beer pong area catching Jungkook's eyes diverting to a different direction and you let out a chuckle. "He's cute! You should go for it," she yelled over the music enough for you to hear.
"I don't know," you smiled shrugging your shoulders at her.
"Well you better make up your mind because he's coming right over here," she says as she nods her head towards Jungkook.
Your face followers hers and you see Jungkook walking towards you. Your face heats up and you thank god that your face flushes whenever you drink so you can blame it on the alcohol. Jungkook nods at you and you reciprocate a smirk to him.
"Mind if I join?" he asks once he gets reaches you.
"Keep her company for me while I go to the bathroom, yeah?" Seulgi encourages as she nudges you in the elbow and winks, leaving before you could utter a word.
"So you're a dance minor, right?" You asked, "show me what you got."
"Do you want me to teach you a few moves?" Jungkook slides behind you as he grabs your hands. "I don't think there's any room here, but you can stop by one of my dance practices," he says as he leans into you. Your back against his chest you could tell how nicely built he was. His head close to your neck, you could feel his breath.
If you weren't flustered when Jungkook approached you, you sure were now. One of his hands trailed down to your hip and he swayed with you, gliding along the melody of whatever song was on at that moment. Your body relaxed to his. You turned around to face him and he started to show off with a few body rolls and silly hip thrusts making you giggle.
"I'm getting hungry," you shouted over the music.
"You wanna go get something to eat?" Jungkook asks.
"Sure!" You said reluctantly.
"Jin hyung showed me this pizza place down the street," Jungkook grabbed your hand and walked towards the kitchen to go out the side door.
You texted Seulgi where you were headed and she sent back three thumbs up emoji and a winky face emoji with its tongue sticking out.
Taehyung was too distracted by the fact that Jungkook had the nerve to go up and dance with you. He and Seomi were behind four cups with only three of their own remaining. Seomi kept whining every time he missed a shot.
Jimin and Hoseok weren't the best at beer pong, but they certainly rubbed it in Taehyung's face that they were winning. That on top of Seomi's whining and him being able to see you and Jungkook dancing awfully too close to one another just infuriated him.
Jimin and Hoseok both made a shot back to back so they got to go again with only one cup remaining for Taehyung and Seomi. With Taehyung's luck and how everything was going so far that night, Jimin made the last cup causing Seomi to pout and hit Taehyung's chest to complain about their loss.
Taehyung sighed and looked up to see Jungkook grabbing your hand and walking out the back door with you. He didn't feel up for staying at the party anymore.
"Babe, I'm tired let's go home," he says to Seomi.
"Aww but I wanna stay a bit more, please Tae. We lost, we need to redeem ourselves! C'mon!" She pouted.
Taehyung wasn't feeling it, he let out a huff, "I really don't want to stay."
"Aww pretty please!" Seomi wasn't letting down.
"Seo, I really want to go home, you can stay if you want but I'm leaving now." He snarled and walked away.
Seomi eyes widened at Taehyung's behavior. He never leaves a party early, in fact, they were usually one of the last people to leave. She followed Taehyung quickly trying to catch up to him.
"What's wrong babe? She asked.
"Nothing, I just don't feel good."
Seomi didn't say anything as they got in the car. It was a silent drive twenty minute back to their apartment. When they got back Taehyung harshly threw his keys onto the counter. Seomi was pondering on why Taehyung would all of a sudden feel irritated. Then she realized it.
"It's because that Jungkook kid went up to dance with Y/N isn't it?" She said.
Taehyung didn't say anything. He didn't have to because right after asking, Seomi saw the glare in Taehyung's eyes as he ran his tongue in between his upper teeth and cheek.
"I'm right, aren't I? I know I am" Seomi said.
Taehyung's lips tightened as his jaw clenched.
"Maybe we should break up, it's so obvious that you're in love with with Y/N," Seomi stated.
He rolled his eyes and sighed, "Not this again Seo.."
"No, I'm serious this time. Do you know how much it hurts seeing the one you love completely in love with someone else?" Seomi was on the brink of tears.
"I don't love her like that!" Taehyung yelled. "I've told you this time and time again."
"You're an idiot Kim Taehyung. It's obvious that you're in love with her." Seomi sniped back.
"Oh my god Seo! Fine, you want to break up? Then let's break up. I'm tired of having this same god damn argument over and over again!"
Taehyung grabbed his backpack and threw in his laptop and a few other items.
"See, you won't even fight to stay. You don't love me, not like you used to." Seomi was now sobbing.
"Whatever. I'll be back tomorrow for my things." Taehyung stormed off slamming the door.
He didn't know where to go, he didn't want to go back to the frat house while there were a bunch of sweaty drunks doing who knows what at the time. He checked his phone and saw that it was a little past one in the morning. He figured you'd be home by now so that was where he headed.
"Really?? I don't know if I should feel bad or laugh because that's what you get," you laughed as you shoved a slice of pizza in your face.
Jungkook told you how he scarred his cheek. He was racing to get to the computer before his older brother did and they both crashed into the desk. Jungkook's face hitting the sharp corner.
"I guess I deserved it, I was being a brat," He laughed.
As you and Jungkook talked to one another, you two realized you had a few things in common and a learned a bit about him. You both loved watching Japanese animated movies. He has a side hobby of taking pictures, he takes his DSLR everywhere when he goes on vacation. He has a black belt in taekwondo.
"My friends back home call me a muscle pig because I love to work out every chance that I can get," he smiled sheepishly.
"I can't say that it's not a bad thing," you giggled as you poked his bicep.
It was getting to be a little past 1 am and Jungkook offered to walk you back to your apartment, which wasn't too far of a walk. You continued to talk on the way, you told him about your circle of friends and explained how you came to know one another.
When you reached your door Jungkook laughed then looked at you and sighed with a smile, "I usually don't open up to people right off the bat, but for some reason, I feel at ease with you."
You feel your face heat up because you feel the same. You felt a sense of comfortability around him. The same way you feel when you're with Taehyung. You thought to yourself that maybe Jungkook could be that one person to help you finally move on.
Returning his smile you said, "For some reason, I feel the same."
You didn't realize how close in proximity your bodies were to each other until you saw Jungkook's face leaning in close to yours. His lips stopping within an inch or two in front of yours, feeling his warm breath brushing you. Your eyes trailing from his eyes down to his lips, you see the tip of his tongue run across his bottom lip to moisten it. Your breath hitched in the back of your throat.
Unconsciously, you leaned in to close the gap closing your eyes. His lips were even softer than you anticipated. The kiss did not feel forced or needy, but rather gentle and warm. It made your heart flutter a bit.
When he pulled away you opened your eyes to see him smiling at the ground. A coat of pink flushing over his cheeks.
"I'd like to do this again sometime if you don't mind," he said shyly. The confident guy you were dancing with a few hours earlier totally replaced with this persona which you thought was cute.
You nodded and he asked to exchange numbers. Thanking him for walking you back you hugged him before retreating inside.
Taehyung didn't understand why he had gotten so mad. He's seen other guys flirting with you before. Maybe because you've never flirted right back. Yeah, he's seen you suck face with your ex Minwoo before, so he doesn't understand why he felt so agitated when all you and Jungkook did was dance.
Taehyung tried to not think about it too much, he shouldn't care anyway. At least not in that sense. Because you've hooked up with other people before. He was never around when those hookups happened, but he's heard about them from someone in your circle of friends and then eventually you. He never cared then, so he didn't understand why he got so worked up over it.
Taehyung was approaching your apartment when he saw you and Jungkook standing at your door. He stopped and watched as you smiled at Jungkook. Then next thing he saw was you and Jungkook kissing. Taehyung felt a pang in his heart. His eyes grew cold, his face expressionless. When you and Jungkook parted Taehyung slipped into the stairwell until he saw Jungkook walk pass the corridor into the elevator.
You leaned against the door after you closed it and smiled, releasing a deep breath. You haven't felt this way in a long time. Your apartment seemed pretty quiet, you assume your roommates either they're already asleep in their rooms, slept over at the frat house, or off hookup somewhere. You take off your shoes and started walking towards your room. A knock at the door interrupted you.
Thinking it was one of your roommates you open the door. To your surprise you see a boxy grin beaming towards you.
"Tae," you smiled, feeling caught off guard.
"Want to watch some One Piece," He asks holding up one of his DVD sets.
"What happened?" You asked with a worried expression. You gave Seomi all the space she needed with Tae, so you were confused as to how they'd argue again.
"Nothing too concerning," he smiled, but you could see it in his eyes that his smile was not genuine.
You gave him a come on just tell me look.
He sighed, "Seomi just had too much to drink and things were getting out of hand so I gave her some space," he lied.
Taehyung went to your room as you followed. He rummaged through your drawers knowing he'd find a pair of sweats and a tee shirt that belonged to him and quickly changed. You went to the bathroom to wash up and changed into your PJs as Taehyung set up his laptop on your bed.
When you finished brushing your teeth and taking off your contacts you waltzed over to your bed tying your hair into a ponytail and climbed in.
"What's gotten you so happy?" Taehyung asked, "I haven't seen you like this in a long time."
You smiled, "I don't know." Your cheeks blushed thinking back to the kiss you shared with Jungkook. Although brief, it was amazing.
Taehyung smiled back at you, again the smile not reaching his eyes. You decided against pestering him about what was on his mind. Thinking he'd tell you eventually, right?
You two settled in a comfy position and Tae started an episode. You couldn't even make it through one twenty two minute episode before you fell asleep. Taehyung looked over to you and gazed at your slumbering visage. He tucked a straggling strand of hair off your face behind your ear. Seeing how peaceful you looked made him realized that it was silly for him to be agitated over you and Jungkook.
He wasn't jealous, was he? He hadn't felt that way toward you in such a long time. Why was he feeling that way now? Had his feelings resurfaced seeing that you're actually swooning over someone? He didn't know what his mind, yet let alone what his emotions were thinking. He loved Seomi, right? He had Seomi. So why was he acting this way?
You let out a deep breath and rolled over with your back turned to Taehyung. He turned off his laptop and set it off on the side table and slid into spoon you. Engulfed in your radiating body heat, Taehyung drifted off to sleep as well.
You woke up in the middle of the night with the strongest urge to pee. You scrambled to the bathroom to relieve yourself, careful not to wake Taehyung up while getting out of bed even though the boy could sleep through a wild storm without being disturbed.
When you were done you quietly climbed back in bed. You heard Taehyung mumbling. Sometimes he'd talk in his sleep and you could have a full conversation with him and he wouldn't even remember once he's woken up.
His voice was muffled, but then he turned over and said, "I might be in love with you again Y/N."

Sick Day | Danley
Summary: Isley takes care of Daniel while he’s sick. @isleydrewwhittaker
Isley-Yesterday at 2:02 PM
Shopping bags in hand, Isley waited for Daniel to let her in. When he did, she looked him over, slightly shocked that he didn't seem to be exaggerating. "Oh wow, you look like shit." She said, walking in and setting everything down in the kitchen.
Daniel-Yesterday at 2:03 PM
Daniel dragged himself to the door, glad that Isley would be coming over to help him but at the same time feeling bad that she was always having to take care of him. He let her in and scoffed as he shut the door behind her. "Thank you, baby." He said sarcastically as he made his way back to the couch to lay down.
Isley-Yesterday at 2:06 PM
"You're welcome," She replied, equally sarcastically. "Why don't we camp out in your room so we don't infect this whole place for Ellie?"
Daniel-Yesterday at 2:07 PM
"I don't wanna move." He groaned. "She told me I should leave." He said with another scoff.
Isley-Yesterday at 2:09 PM
"Well, you're paying rent, not her, so..." Isley teased. "C'mon, babe." She put her hand out for him to take.
Daniel-Yesterday at 2:10 PM
He sighed dramatically and took her hand to get up from the couch and walk to his bedroom. He fell onto the bed and rolled himself up in the blanket like a burrito.
Isley-Yesterday at 2:11 PM
"Poor thing." She said, making sure he was comfortable before asking, "When was the last time you ate?"
Daniel-Yesterday at 2:12 PM
"Last night, but I don't know if I want to eat yet."
Isley-Yesterday at 2:15 PM
"Alright, baby. I'll be right back." Isley went to the kitchen and grabbed the Lysol from underneath the sink, then proceeded to disinfect the living room. When she finished, she grabbed a blue Gatorade from the fridge and some saltines, then went back to Daniel's room. "At least drink some of this. Replenish those electrolytes." She held the bottle out to him.(edited)
Daniel-Yesterday at 2:19 PM
Daniel attempted to sleep when she left the room but found it hard to do so. When she came back, he sat up and drank the gatorade slowly. "I just want you to cuddle with me."
Isley-Yesterday at 2:22 PM
Isley smiled at him, finding his vulnerable state endearing. "Okay." She kicked off her shoes and climbed into bed beside him. "No kissing, just cuddles."
Daniel-Yesterday at 2:27 PM
"I know. I don't want to get you sick." He wrapped his arm around her, his eyes closing. "I wish I could kiss you though."
Isley-Yesterday at 2:28 PM
"Just focus on getting better, and then you can kiss me as much as you want." She reached a hand up to touch his face briefly.
Daniel-Yesterday at 2:29 PM
"How did I get sick and you're fine? This is bullshit." he joked softly.
Isley-Yesterday at 2:30 PM
"I don't really get sick anymore. I got sick a lot as a kid, so my immune system got built up."
Daniel-Yesterday at 2:30 PM
"Is that how that works?"
Isley-Yesterday at 2:35 PM
"No idea, but I think it has something to do with it. Like I got exposed to lots of stuff from spending time in the hospital with my mom, so now my body better knows how to combat it? Not entirely sure but it sounds right."
Daniel-Yesterday at 2:41 PM
"That makes sense, I guess. What was she sick with?"
Isley-Yesterday at 2:43 PM
"Cancer. But whenever she and my dad would have serious conversations with the doctor, or she was getting tests done, they'd send me out of the room. I'd go to the pediatric floor and make friends with the kids there."
Daniel-Yesterday at 2:45 PM
Daniel thought that sounded really depressing, but he just cuddled her closer. "Maybe that's why you're such a good nurse." He said softly.
Isley-Yesterday at 2:56 PM
She smiled softly at his comment. "Maybe. Or maybe it's because I have such a handsome patient, so I'm on my A game."
Daniel-Yesterday at 2:57 PM
"I thought I looked like shit." He teased.
Isley-Yesterday at 2:57 PM
"You're shit is like, average for everyone else."
Daniel-Yesterday at 3:00 PM
"Hm... Good to know." he said with a nod. "I am starting to feel a little bit better.  I thought I was going to die most of today."
Isley-Yesterday at 3:02 PM
"That's good, babe. Think you can eat now?"
Daniel-Yesterday at 3:03 PM
"I don't know.. That might be pushing it."
Isley-Yesterday at 3:12 PM
"Alright, we'll  just stay here then. If you decide you want to try, we can start with Saltines. I put them on the bedside."
Daniel-Yesterday at 3:17 PM
"Thank you, baby.. This is why you're the best person in the entire world."
Isley-Yesterday at 3:18 PM
"Only for you." She replied, her smile evident in her voice.
Daniel-Yesterday at 3:19 PM
"No, you're just amazing always." He said, his eyes closed as he tried to relax.
Isley-Yesterday at 3:20 PM
Isley brought the hand that was wrapped around her to her lips, kissing it gently. "Roll over." She demanded.(edited)
Daniel-Yesterday at 3:21 PM
Daniel did as she told him and rolled onto his stomach. "Like this?"
Isley-Yesterday at 3:22 PM
"Mmhmm." Isley lifted his shirt to his shoulders and began to rub and scratch his back gently.
Daniel-Yesterday at 3:23 PM
He hummed contently as she began to rub his back. "That feels good."
Isley-Yesterday at 3:30 PM
"Good, baby." She said quietly as she continued. She wasn't sure if she should stay quiet to let him sleep or talk, so she just didn't say anything.
Daniel-Yesterday at 3:32 PM
Her soothing motions were making him sleepy and he wasn't able to fight it. It wasn't long before he was dozing off, softly snoring because of the position he was laying in.
Isley-Yesterday at 3:35 PM
When Daniel began to snore, Isley stood and went to the kitchen, grabbing supplies to actually clean the house. When she finished cleaning, she grabbed her favorite book, Wuthering Heights, out of her bag and read. When Daniel had been sleeping for about two and a half hours, Isley decided he needed to eat to regain his strength, so she cooked his soup and brought it to him, sitting on the edge of his bed. "Hey, baby." She whispered.
Daniel-Yesterday at 3:37 PM
Daniel slept better than he had been able to all day. When heard Isley whisper to him, his eyes struggled to open. "Hi." He said softly and sat up, feeling a little better than he had before.
Isley-Yesterday at 3:39 PM
Isley smiled as he sat up, gently brushing some hair out of his eyes. "I know you probably still don't want to eat, but you have to." She scrunched her nose at him and handed him the bowl.
Daniel-Yesterday at 3:41 PM
He wanted to say no but when she had come over and was taking care of him, he didn't want to be rude. He took the bowl and cautiously put a spoonful of soup in his mouth. After he swallowed it, he paused for a long moment to gauge if it would be okay before he continued slowly eating. "Thank you." he gave her a small smile.
Isley-Yesterday at 3:42 PM
"See, not so bad." She said, returning his smile. "You gotta have some sustenance."
Daniel-Yesterday at 3:43 PM
"Yeah, I was just worried about keeping stuff down but I think I might be getting better."
Isley-Yesterday at 3:51 PM
"It's because I'm here. You're welcome." Isley said sarcastically.
Daniel-Yesterday at 3:53 PM
"I think it might be." He said with a nod.
Isley-Yesterday at 3:55 PM
“Just needed some motivation. It just happens to be that that motivation comes in the form of my booty.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 3:56 PM
"And I didn't even have to touch it." He joked with a wreak smile.
Isley-Yesterday at 3:59 PM
She shook her head at Daniel with a small laugh. “No, but you’re gonna have to kiss up to it once you feel better.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 4:39 PM
"I usually do anyways." He said playfully, followed by a yawn.
Isley-Yesterday at 4:51 PM
“True, and it better stay that way.” She countered.
Daniel-Yesterday at 4:53 PM
"It probably will." He finished off the soup and set the bowl on the night stand beside his bed. "I think I might go shower. Or bath. I haven't decided yet."
Isley-Yesterday at 4:59 PM
“Hm, a bath sounds nice. I may join you.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 5:00 PM
"It's the only way I'm gonna see you naked while I'm sick, so let's do it." He said and slowly got up to go to the bathroom. He started the water and pulled his clothes off while the tub filled.
Isley-Yesterday at 5:22 PM
Isley laughed and rolled her eyes at him, following him to the bathroom. She took his clothes and threw them in the laundry basket before stripping his bed sheets and throwing them in the washing machine. Then, she went back to the bathroom and stripped her clothes off, stepping in the tub.
Daniel-Yesterday at 5:25 PM
He got into the tub and relaxed with his head against the back and his arms on either side of he tub. When she joined him, his arms wrapped around her. "Thank you for all this." He rested his head on top of hers for a moment.
Isley-Yesterday at 5:40 PM
Isley relaxed into him, closing her eyes. “I like taking care of you, baby.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 5:41 PM
"You've had to do it a lot.. I don't know where I'd be without you."
Isley-Yesterday at 5:51 PM
“It’s been my pleasure, but I’m sure you’d be fine.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 5:52 PM
"Nah, my life would suck without you right now."
Isley-Yesterday at 6:00 PM
“Well you make my life better, too.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 6:02 PM
"I don't see how but I'm glad that I do."
Isley-Yesterday at 6:06 PM
“If I could kiss you right now, I totally would.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 6:07 PM
"I would too." He sighed. "Instead, I'll just be miserable." He joked.
Isley-Yesterday at 6:20 PM
“Oh c’mon, we can make it.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 6:27 PM
"I'm just going the miserable either way until I feel better. Which I gotta get to feeling better soon so I can deal with mediation and shit."
Isley-Yesterday at 6:28 PM
“And the sooner you deal with that, the sooner it’s over.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 6:31 PM
"Yep. Maybe that's why I'm so sick." he joked.
Isley-Yesterday at 6:36 PM
“Probably,” Isley said, shrugging casually.
Daniel-Yesterday at 6:37 PM
"Are you gonna be mad if I wanna be alone after the mediation? I just feel like it's going to be stressful and I'm going to be mad."
Isley-Yesterday at 6:41 PM
"I don't really have any expectations about the mediation, so no. But if you wanted company, that's fine."
Daniel-Yesterday at 6:48 PM
"I just don't want us to fight because I'm nervous it won't go well."
Isley-Yesterday at 7:01 PM
“I don’t have to come see you if you don’t want me to. But I will have an issue if you decide to cope by getting shit faced and then attempt to fuck up some other shit faced dude.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 7:04 PM
"I make no promises..." He joked.
Isley-Yesterday at 7:08 PM
Isley nudged him gently with her elbow. “I know you’re joking, babe, but I’ll kill you.”(edited)
Daniel-Yesterday at 7:09 PM
"I will not go out if I get wasted. There's your promise."
Isley-Yesterday at 7:15 PM
“Thank you.” She replied smugly.
Daniel-Yesterday at 7:16 PM
He kissed the top of her head "My dad is coming on Sunday."
Isley-Yesterday at 7:19 PM
“Wow, when’s the last time you saw him?”
Daniel-Yesterday at 7:21 PM
"Before I moved from New York. I saw my mom when we went for business but he was gone. It's going to be weird, I think he's really disappointed in me."
Isley-Yesterday at 7:35 PM
“Its been a while then. And I’m sure he’ll understand, it’s not like you’ve had it super easy.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 7:39 PM
"He doesn't care about that. In my family, as long as you keep outward appearances it doesn't matter what goes on behind closed doors. I haven't been so good at that."
Isley-Yesterday at 7:54 PM
“It’s all...politics with your family. Your father, anyway. That sounds like it would be a hard life.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 7:55 PM
"I don't know. I guess every family has their issues."
Isley-Yesterday at 7:56 PM
“Well, you can’t change how your dad feels, unfortunately. But he’ll get over it, right?”
Daniel-Yesterday at 7:58 PM
"He kind of has to. I used to care so much what he thought but... Now it's just like if he can't accept my life then that's that. It hurts but I can't stay in an unhappy marriage or control feelings I have for other people because my parents think it makes them look bad."
Isley-Yesterday at 8:05 PM
“No, you can’t control it at all. And I’m glad that you don’t care as much.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 8:17 PM
"Honestly, it scares me how close I was to becoming my father. Just.. Empty. No feelings.  I despised him for that my entire childhood but the past few years, I don't know how to explain it. It's so easy to get caught up in trying to be perfect or having people think you are. It felt like my life was on auto-pilot until Avery left me."
Isley-Yesterday at 8:27 PM
Isley turned to face him in the tub. “Well, the last thing you are is empty, baby.” Isley threw the rules out the window, putting her hands on his face and kissing him gently. “And you’re definitely living your own life now.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 8:28 PM
He closed his eyes as she kissed him. "I know I'm not empty now. I have you." He ran his hand over her hair.
Isley-Yesterday at 8:31 PM
“You always will.” She gave him another kiss before turning around.  “You should get sick more often.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 8:31 PM
"Why?" He asked with a small laugh.
Isley-Yesterday at 8:34 PM
“You’re bein’ really sweet.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 8:34 PM
"Am I usually mean?" He asked playfully. "I just am really thankful for you today."
Isley-Yesterday at 8:49 PM
“Hush, you know what I mean.” She nudged him again. “Like I said, I don’t mind. I like spending time with you. Even when you’re sick.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 8:54 PM
"I like spending time with you too, baby." He rest his head back against the wall. "We should probably get out soon."
Isley-Yesterday at 9:05 PM
Isley groaned, then stood. "You stay here for a little bit and wash up, I'll make the bed." She wrapped quickly dried off and redressed, then went to get the sheets and made the bed quickly. Isley brought his dirty dish to the kitchen and put it in the dishwasher, grabbing him another Gatorade.
Daniel-Yesterday at 9:23 PM
Daniel washed his body, the act making him feel like he was washing away a bit of the sickness. When he was ready to get out, he drained the tub and stepped out, wrapping himself in a towel. Standing up made him feel sick again though and he had to lean against the sink for a moment to stop feeling nauseous. He moved to the bedroom and collapsed on the bed, feeling frustrated that he was still not feeling well.
Isley-Yesterday at 9:31 PM
“Aw,” Isley said as Dan collapsed on the bed, feeling bad that he was feeling bad. She grabbed one of the fresh blankets and threw it over him, then laid down with him.
Daniel-Yesterday at 9:33 PM
He got comfortable under the blanket before wrapping his arm around her. "I might have to give in and go to the doctor if I'm still sick in the morning."
Isley-Yesterday at 10:12 PM
“Okay babe. I hope it’s just a 24 hour thing, for both of our sakes.” She joked.
Daniel-Yesterday at 10:15 PM
"I do too. If it's not, you don't have to take care of me. I can just try to sleep it off."
Isley-Yesterday at 10:19 PM
"Well, if you're not working then I have nothing better to do. Maybe Ellie will make me go to that Corks and Canvases place again."
Daniel-Yesterday at 10:23 PM
"Yeah, I'm sure she would hang out with you. I'll pay you for all this break you're having to take by the way."
Isley-Yesterday at 10:24 PM
“Actually, I should probably study. And I’m okay, I’m not working so I shouldn’t get paid.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 10:24 PM
"You have to pay rent and stuff though. I'll cover your bills, at least. And feed you."
Isley-Yesterday at 10:25 PM
“Daniel, a few days off isn’t gonna kill me, and if we’re not living together you’re not paying any of my bills. I will take the food, though.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 10:26 PM
"What? I really think you should let me help you because I am the reason you're not making money."
Isley-Yesterday at 10:28 PM
“No, Daniel, I’m not letting you pay my bills! I’ll be okay without a few days’ pay.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 10:30 PM
"Fine. But IF you happen to need that money for rent or anything else, then let me know. I mean, it can just be considered a sign on bonus or something."
Isley-Yesterday at 10:32 PM
“I’m not gonna ask for it or take it, but okay.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 10:32 PM
"Why are you being so stubborn about it?"
Isley-Yesterday at 10:41 PM
Isley shrugged. “It feels like charity.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 10:41 PM
"How? First off, we're like.. A thing and second, I am the reason you quit your job. You have technically been working."
Isley-Yesterday at 10:44 PM
“It’s not like we live together, though. If we did, I could understand covering bills or rent for a little bit, but we don’t. And I have enough saved up to hold me over until we get on the payroll again.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 10:45 PM
"Then.. Move in." He shrugged. "I just don't want you to get behind because of me, especially when I can afford to help."
Isley-Yesterday at 10:46 PM
Isley sat up. “Did you just ask me to move in with you?”
Daniel-Yesterday at 10:47 PM
"I.. A little bit, yeah I did."
Isley-Yesterday at 10:51 PM
“Because you want me to, or because you feel bad I’m not getting paid?”
Daniel-Yesterday at 10:52 PM
"I do want you to. You could even take the spare bedroom if you think that it's too much too fast."
Isley-Yesterday at 10:54 PM
“Isn’t Ellie in the spare room? How many do you have?”
Daniel-Yesterday at 10:55 PM
"There's three bedrooms." He shrugged.
Isley-Yesterday at 10:55 PM
“You seriously want me to move in?” Isley asked again.
Daniel-Yesterday at 10:56 PM
Daniel looked up at the ceiling as he thought about it "I mean, yeah.. Why not?"
Isley-Yesterday at 10:58 PM
“You don’t think...that’s not too fast for you?”
Daniel-Yesterday at 10:59 PM
"We can see how things are after my dad leaves and mediation is over, but no.. I think it would be fine."
Isley-Yesterday at 11:01 PM
“And you want me to because you like me, not because you think you need to pay for me?”
Daniel-Yesterday at 11:01 PM
"Obviously I like you." he nudged her shoulder.
Isley-Yesterday at 11:02 PM
“I...okay. Let’s do it.”(edited)
Daniel-Yesterday at 11:02 PM
"Yeah?" He asked with a smile.
Isley-Yesterday at 11:04 PM
“Yeah.” She said, returning his smile.
Daniel-Yesterday at 11:04 PM
"Cool." He leaned over to kiss her cheek. "I might have to explain to Ellie that we are together."
Isley-Yesterday at 11:06 PM
“Babe, I hate to break it to you, but she’s not a child. I think she already knows.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 11:06 PM
"Yeah, but I haven't like told her."
Isley-Yesterday at 11:07 PM
Isley chuckled. “Okay. Do you think she’ll mind? I didn’t think she would but now i’m a little scared.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 11:08 PM
"I think if she  didn't like the idea then she would have said something by now. I feel like there's no way she hasn't heard you screaming." He smirked at her.
Isley-Yesterday at 11:09 PM
Isley slapped him gently. “Daniel!” She protested, although she was laughing. “But whose fault is that?”(edited)
Daniel-Yesterday at 11:10 PM
"I'll take blame for it." He pulled her closer. "If I could move without getting nauseous I'd make it happen right now."
Isley-Yesterday at 11:12 PM
“How are you still managing to turn me on?” She rolled her eyes at him, but silently wished he wasn’t sick. “Also, I don’t know about you, but I’ve never had so much sex in my whole life.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 11:13 PM
"I don't know, but I'm getting a confusing boner." He joked. "It's been awesome. I love that you're so into it all the time."
Isley-Yesterday at 11:15 PM
Isley started cracking up. “I don’t know how or why, you just get me so hot. All. The. Time.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 11:16 PM
"Well, I hope it lasts forever. It's been amazing."
Isley-Yesterday at 11:17 PM
“Me too. Speaking of, I was serious about bending me over your desk.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 11:18 PM
"I know you were and I will make it happen, don't worry."
Isley-Yesterday at 11:18 PM
“Good.” She replied, snuggling closer to him. “How did I get so lucky?”
Daniel-Yesterday at 11:19 PM
"I'm the lucky one. I care about you so much."
Isley-Yesterday at 11:19 PM
“I sure hope so.” She joked, but then said seriously, “I really care about you too.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 11:21 PM
He sat up a bit so he could drink the Gatorade she had brought out for him. "Good." He said with a smile before drinking. He laid back down and hugged her once more.
Isley-Yesterday at 11:23 PM
“You make me a happy, happy woman.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 11:24 PM
"You make me a happy man." He pressed a soft kiss to her neck.
Isley-Yesterday at 11:24 PM
Isley shivered as goosebumps popped up on her skin. She giggled and squealed, “Stop that!”
Daniel-Yesterday at 11:26 PM
"I'm sorry. I just want to kiss you so bad." He buried his face against her neck.
Isley-Yesterday at 11:27 PM
Isley continued laughing. “Your scruff is tickling me!”
Daniel-Yesterday at 11:28 PM
He pulled away with an exasperated sigh "let me be clingy."
Isley-Yesterday at 11:28 PM
“Okay, okay, c’mere baby.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 11:29 PM
He moved close to her once more, this time resting his head near her chest as his arm moved back around her.
Isley-Yesterday at 11:34 PM
Isley kisses the top of his head, then began to play with his hair. “Hey, I won’t have to take the subway to work anymore.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 11:37 PM
"No, you won't." His eyes closed as she played with his hair. "I think living here will be convenient for a lot of reasons."
Isley-Yesterday at 11:38 PM
“And fun. Don’t forget fun.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 11:39 PM
"And fun. I'm gonna get laid every night now." He joked.
Isley-Yesterday at 11:41 PM
“Yeah you will.” She countered.
Daniel-Yesterday at 11:42 PM
"I can't wait." He chuckled.
Isley-Yesterday at 11:43 PM
“Yeah, I think this is the longest we’ve gone without having sex.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 11:44 PM
"There were a few days when we got back from Vermont but I'm finding it much harder to refrain now."
Isley-Yesterday at 11:45 PM
“Well yeah, because we weren’t physically together like we are now.”
Daniel-Yesterday at 11:46 PM
"That's true." He agreed. "As soon as I'm feeling better, I'm gonna fix this situation."
Isley-Yesterday at 11:52 PM
“You can’t see me, but I’m rolling my eyes at you.” She paused for a moment before speaking again. “Also get better fast.”March 9, 2018
Daniel-Today at 8:32 AM
"I'm trying." He sighed. "Maybe I should just go to sleep and not wake up until I feel better."
Isley-Today at 11:06 AM
“I don’t know if you can control that.” Isley giggled. “But you do need lots of rest.”
Daniel-Today at 11:50 AM
"Then stop distracting me." He joked.
Isley-Today at 11:53 AM
“Yes sir.” Isley mocked, before settling deeper into him.
Daniel-Today at 11:54 AM
Daniel's arm wrapped around her, his hand on her breast as he settled against the pillow and closed his eyes to fall asleep once more.
Isley-Today at 12:22 PM
Isley waited until Daniel began to snore softly, then extricated herself from his arms. It was harder than she expected, but she somehow managed to do it without waking him. She gently kissed his cheek before writing him a note that said, “Baby, going shopping with Ellie. Text me when you get up and we’ll come home  -
️ I”
