Boston x Nick and the concept of Obsession

Everything about this dynamic is making me feral, I have been pretty much fixated on them since the first time they appeared on screen. I don't know what jojo has in store for them and if there is a possibility of a ship leading to a dead end, let's be honest, it would be them. YET my biased self wants them to have atleast a hopeful conclusion.

BUT, HEAR ME OUT, IF THERE IS ONLY ONE SHIP WHO GETS TO BE TOGETHER, IT WOULD ALSO BE THEM.

Why?

Nick and his obsession:

Nick's fascination with Boston has never been subtle. Initially, in the store when he first came across Boston, it was mostly him being sexually interested, being horny for this hot dude who happened to be his customer. Nick's interest in boston was pretty much initiated by sex thus leading to the fwb. BUT the more Nick spend time with boston, the more he grew "fond" of him. How? tbh most of their interactions was them banging, right? Well boston and sex go beyond just that. Sex for him has been a matter of pride, he goes around topping almost every hot dude he meets, he makes sure he is infact the best they will ever have. His performance on bed fuels his superiority complex and thus makes him want to fuck up everyone's sex life forever. Nick who allows him to ravage him, welcomes anything ton offers and takes him so well makes nick his "favourite" leading to more "intimacy" during sex. When you are in a fwb relationship with someone, you would care about just having sex, anything that triggers your orgasm and most don't even care about the other's "pleasure" other than the orgasmic one. Boston just didn't had sex with nick, he was intimate with him, he made sure nick felt all sorts of physical pleasure including orgasmic. Not only that, he ensures aftercare, compliments, intimate touches like ear nibbling/kissing, neck kissing, or running his hand down nick's arm, waist holding, grabbing nick's face or holding his body gently while making out. Which fwb takes so much "care" of each other? Boston had been very clear about his relationship with nick from the beginning yet nick couldn't help but want more of boston and his touches. For nick, those touches meant love, trust and care making him hopelessly fall for ton and for ton it was just about being a good sex partner.

Nick's background is still pretty unclear, we don't know a lot about him, yet he gives me the vibe of someone who has been neglected or cast aside his whole life, someone who always has been the second option thus nothing for him was genuine. How can I say that? Well, ton gives him attention, all to him, all for himself, while nick in return leaches onto him and subtlety or not begs for more. Here comes the obsession. Obsession with what? Boston? Sex? or attention? What if I say all of them? Everything he wanted, boston gave him. Boston for the sake of being the best sex partner gave all the dates, intimacy, attention to nick for him to drown in, and that's exactly what happened. Nick in my opinion, doesn't consider himself worthy of anyone's time, someone who is not worth to be with SO ton treating him well made him feel special, made him think he finally had someone to himself. But that delusion breaks the moment he discovers top and ton. Nick knew that ton never considered him to be anything beyond a fuck buddy yet he lets himself get drawn towards ton. Ton didn't mislead him, he mislead himself and that too quite intentionally.

Nick couldn't seperate his own delusions and reality, he wanted to be ton's "no.1" and wanted him all for himself, he couldn't convince himself enough that ton doesn't love him for him to let go. Unfortunately he just held onto the false hope he has build for himself tighter making it dreadful for him to actually let go. He feared the consequences but ton getting mad at him and never talking to him genuinely scared him. He was not worried about filming people having sex illegally rather terrified of ton finding out that it was him who recorded it. He was scared of ton abandoning him. He was scared of boston, more specifically, hating him. He begs ton to not shrove him away, his want to be 24/7 around ton was beyond his control now.

Boston and his fascination with nick's Obsession:

Boston is pretty straightforward, if I had to make a list of the most to least complicated characters in this show, his name would to be towards the end. Ton knows he is sexually appealing to people, he knows he is great in bed and KNOWS that people mostly reach out to him for sex. His mentality goes "yeah i am a slut and a jerk, what about it", he is so unapologetically evil, it drives everyone from the audience to the characters nuts 'cause you can't confront him, he would just go "yeah and?" *shrugs*, and that's EXACTLY why everyone hates him. Ton thinks he can offer only his body, no one would be with him 'cause of how he is. He knows that and thus doesn't care about sleeping around 'cause that's the only way people would talk about him and that fuels his god complex. BUT his confusion sets in, when Nicks offers to spend time with him. The sole fact that someone is trying to get to know him as a person rather than a sex toy fascinated ton. He is like "me? Are u sure?". Even Nick's obsession with him fascinates him. He is genuinely questioning why would anyone like him, let alone love. Nick desperately begging boston to not leave him, Nick asking for a "date", playing with him, asking him about anything but sex made him curious. Curious about what makes nick love him so much. His curosity made him take better care of nick thus slowly having a soft spot for that boy. Even when he leaves nick, he looks at their picture, he thinks his fascination and curosity made him weak, made him a fool yet he can't help but feel the absense of that genuine love and interest nick has for him. Nick's obsessive love made him feel subconsciously safe and wanted knowing that everyone can and does leave him but that idiot wouldn't even if he can't offer anything.

Really vague story synopsis: “villain” donnie au where he doesn’t become evil exactly but instead snaps and goes on a violent revenge quest to avenge the death of someone close to him. He believes he has to be the one to kill the one who did it, and leaves his family and becomes a sort of antagonist to them as well while they try to help him and bring him back so they can tackle this together.

I don’t know if I’m gonna make it a fic or if it’s just gonna live in my head lmao (motivation to write is sucks) but I’m definitely gonna be doing a good chunk of art for it :D

(ALSO IMPORTANT: their origin is very rise esque in that they were mutated with the intention of them being weapons. They have some genetic enhancements (pain tolerance and strength, most notably) and have some added dna from wolves and cats.)

ok, it's star trek update time. tonight we watched ds9's "playing god" and tng's "eye of the beholder."

i'm trying. SO SO SO HARD to get into dax and it's just not working

out of the 3 dax episodes we've had so far this one included two of them have been mid and one of them was just slightly better than average mostly for the questions it prompted in my mind palace, not necessarily the questions asked by the episode itself

in s1 dax had basically no personality, but in s2 when she does have a personality it seems to be a different one every time. like in one episode she was very prissy and in others she's just one of the guys! and then at other times she reverts to this very buttoned up bordering on bland science officer from s1 again

and then every once in awhile she'll be like oh yeah i LOVE sex i LOVE being a super hot woman who everyone wants to FUCK!!! i can get whatever i want with my SEX APPEAL even though my hair is WEIRDLY SHAPED. and look i am so happy for her and she should literally get some but it borders on the kind of misogyny that starts genuinely annoying me. it is kind of like that anime trope where the teen boy gets put into a body with tits and he can't stop messing with them. its like. idk reducing her to a body, or reducing her to jadzia's body, which dax is taking for a ride to feel hot and fuckable?? it's very blurry what's jadzia and what's dax

that said. while i did not like this episode or this little guy dax was showing around i DID like the implication that curzon was actually a huge fucking asshole. i love that he can be loved by many people but was still an asshole. it's complex. and now one of the people he abused (?) or at least was an asshole to is now. his successor. IT'S COMPLEX!!! what are he and jadzia to each other...imagine meeting curzon dax and then just becoming him. that's wild. so, points for that! genuinely. it just feels like the trill thing is fascinating because of trills and not because of jadzia dax in particular. i'm gonna keep trying to like her. maybe once she starts banging worf things will be different

firstly, i don't trust tng to handle the subject of suicide any more than i trust them to handle multiple personalities, but they tried to very special episode it anyway. all of them were so shocked at the very THOUGHT of it i guess because they eliminated all mental illness in tos?? but it was so funny in the rage-inducing way like "maybe he needed to think of the obstacles in his life as challenges to overcome!" come on.

I love the jedi but enjoy the sith, mostly vader,new republic sith and old republic sith, do yoi have a lost of your favorite star wars villains.

In order, Dooku, Thrawn, Palpatine, Vader, OT-era Tarkin, Maul - and TCW!Hondo right after Dooku if that counts.

Pretty vanilla lmao. I like the Son as a concept but he's really not hardcore enough to really embody what he's supposed to represent. (There's not enough of the slimy slithering madness and viciousness that makes the Sith do stuff like sacrifice Jedi on altars and do blood magic rituals, among other things.) He's too tame for something supposedly worse than the Sith, though he'd be horrifying if he'd been more Dark-Side-y.

So, Dooku, because he's a disaster and a mirror to Anakin's garbage and because there's a lot of genuinely interesting things about a character who was among the wisest and noblest and who knows what the darkness is and willing embraces it anyway. he's Star Wars' Saruman and I love Saruman. It certainly helped that he was played by Sir Christopher Lee. The man was just that good.

Thrawn, because of the smooth, calm demeanor - much like Dooku's. That scene where he slowly explains what a kalikori is without revealing right away who is Hera, toying with us with his incredible score in the background, gave me shivers the first 4-5 times I watched it. I love sophisticated and collected villains. Brutish villains feel too simplistic and not nearly as frightening. I also love Star Wars aliens.

Palpatine because he's a delight to hate. He has no redeeming qualities whatsoever - he's just absolute selfishness embodied and that makes if very fun. Also love the 'frail' old man whose power is in his insidiousness. I love how maniacally happy about his plans he always is and I love to think of how completely bored he must have been during the Empire days, before Luke showed up and gave him something to plot about. Sure I wish the Zillo beast could have flattened him to a Sheev pancake - or that Dooku would have just punted him into the sun before Naboo, but hey, at least he got thrown down a reactor and exploded twice and was never ever heard of again, right?

Vader because he's a powerhouse and that's always impressive. James Earl Jones' voice was always magnificent as well and there's something so expressive about faceless characters.

OT Tarkin because- smooth, calm and collected old villain. I really have a type ah ah. There's something so maddening about that complete confidence that they're right, that end-justify-the-means mentality they confuse for wisdom, that dismissive way they see the hot blooded righteous heroes as so beneath them...

Maul mostly for the times he goes completely crazy and either turns into a spider or a Temple-dwelling Sith cockroach and runs around painting Kenobi on the walls with his blood. I love his arc with Obi-Wan, I love what it says about the light and the Dark, the Jedi and the Sith, and the Florrum and Twin Suns duels are my favorite ever.

Finally, Hondo... Well, is Hondo. Much smarter, much more ruthless, and much saner than people give him credit for - just spectacularly greedy and ballsy. I wouldn't call him a villain so much as the true example of what a 'morally gray' character is. It's not good guys in impossible situations like Mace, it's not complex villains like Dooku, it's not the image people have of a tortured prince of darkness that deep down feels really sad about all the murder he's doing and it's not the selfless hero who angsts about quickly killing a monster that one time - it's Hondo.

I'm generally pretty indifferent to Ventress, Jango, Boba, bounty hunters like Cad Bane, the Hutts, villains of an episode, or more minor villains and/or reformed antagonists like Bo-Katan, Kallus, etc - as characters anyway. I might like them when they're onscreen or like their place in the story but they don't do much for me individually beyond that.

And a special mention goes to Miraj Scintel - the Zygerrian Queen and only Star Wars villain I truly and deeply loathe. I hate seeing her onscreen, I hate hearing her talk, I hate watching her move, I hate her aspirations, I just detest her. Everything about her is infuriating.

Technically, I wanted something that sounded ok, and at the same time, that would reflect his humour and a metaphor of many things in his background: a dry, brittle char, like a dry leaf. The concept of dryness is a bit attached to him. So, Chardry. lol.

nickname: Chay [by his mother and his friends]. Othorion may call him whatever he fancies.

gender: male

star sign: .... uh... some friend told me he "felt like a Scorpio". I have no idea, so let's keep it as a Scorpio.

height: 160 cm

romancing: Othorion Shadowwater [Rose's Oc], quite married, to be fair.

fave fruit: he doesn't have any, food is something he never cared much about. As long as he can eat to cover his energy needs, he is satisfied.

fave season: Autumn

fave flower: none.

fave scent: In the beginning, none. His practicality made him have none. Plus, he was too accustomed to the smell of dried blood and rot. But after Othorion gifted him a bag with cooilgan [a fantasy honey comb-like thing] that became his fave scent. He would sniff that small bag he always has on him when he wants to relax.

coffee, tea or hot chocolate: tea, and probably some coffee too, specially when he is too focused on working on something.

average sleep hours: between four and six. He is a light sleeper, as a consequence of a child always fearing to be attacked in his sleep by spiders, Lolth emissaries in his imagination, or simply other humanoids that would see in him a danger in the future.

When he was a child, he used to sleep, but as his fears grew, he stopped doing it, and he mostly trances all the time. He can't hold a sitting position during trance, and every time he tried to, he ends up all spread on the ground, ridiculously. He prefers trance because he can be slightly aware of his environment, so he thinks he can perceive any danger before it attacks him. By Othorion's side he will indulge himself in sleeping here an there.

dogs or cats: neither. He doesn't care much about cats, and dogs bring him bad memories, specially if they start barking at him. He prefer the company of his lovely bird familiar, a black, mischievous, smoky mix of a raven and a crow, called Ar.

dream trip: Enjoying the caravan life once more with Othorion. After all, despite the complexity and tension of living with the rest of the caravan merchants, one of the best times in his life was when he was growing up in a merchant caravan with his mother. He would love to reforge nice memories again, but this time with Othorion.

amount of blankets: as many as the weather demands

random fact(s):

He can speak Halfling, as a consequence of living among them in the merchant caravan. He also learnt elvish, but it's badly pronounced, with a heavy accent, because he learnt it only via books. He also speaks Draconic, important for metamagic that he dabbles in. He knows little about Undercommon, only for merchant purposes.

He has asthma since he was a baby. His condition is in check by regularly drinking potions.

He has a scar of a dagger wound on his stomach.

He is always flattening his ears with his fingers or palms, and arranging his hair to cover them. There is a constant concern about his concealed ears. 

He plays the erhu with great skill (in his left little finger he wears a magical ring that can summon an erhu). He has mixed this skill with some illusion spells that allow him to craft sceneries of big size in the company of the music.

For day 10 of the event, I used ‘apple cider’ from prompt 16 for the teachers from Jujutsu Kaisen. This was really fun to do and it was a nice challenge to work with so many different characters! I hope everyone enjoys these as much as I enjoyed writing them 😊

Apple Cider: what’s your favourite seasonal drink?

Yaga doesn’t like anything too sweet, which means that he does miss out on a lot of the specialty drinks that come out around autumn and winter. He mostly sticks to plain black tea, but if he’s feeling really in the mood for something special, there is a cinnamon tea that he’s rather fond of.

Due to Gojo’s sweet tooth, that influences his favourite seasonal drinks. He’s really a big fan of eggnog, but only the store-bought stuff and not the homemade stuff. Hot chocolate in the colder months, especially the specialty hot chocolates that are flavoured or change colour or things like that, just because of the novelty of it all.

Kusakabe is the basic bitch out of this bunch. He’s the one who really enjoys pumpkin spice everything.

Kiyotaka works a lot and he’s always busy. He doesn’t sleep often, so he relies on coffee and heavily caffeinated tea to keep him going. Because of this, his favourite seasonal drinks are usually special flavoured coffees and teas that only come out around the holidays. Pumpkin spice is okay, but overrated…his absolute favourite is hot peppermint coffee or tea that comes out in the winter season.

Shoko’s favourite seasonal drink is definitely alcoholic. Shoko really does love a well-made drink and alcohol is a passion of hers. If she could be, she would definitely be a functioning alcoholic. She really does love hot toddy’s. She starts drinking them in early autumn and continues on through until after Christmas, when it becomes improper, in her mind, to continue doing so. While she maintains it tastes best when someone else makes them, she taught herself how to make one that is specifically to her tastes.

For Nitta, like Shoko, her favourite seasonal drink is definitely an alcoholic one. She does enjoy spiked eggnog, but her absolute favourite would be a New York Sour, which just puts her an autumn mood. It’s a really complex flavour, which is something Nitta’s a fan of.

My Top 10 In Order:

1. Itto x Gorou -

The first Genshin Ship in my collection and still number one. Itto is always the first to fall in my ship and THE definition of golden retriever energy. When Gorou begins to notice his attention on him more often, he gets flustered and slowly falls for him back. Precious wholesome warriors, making a great team and greater lovers.

2. Cyno x Tighnari -

2nd place mostly cause of canon team-up and fanart. Also been debating on which one I'd be good at cosplaying if only I had the money (leaning toward Cyno.) Cyno is the first to fall and even while Tighnari cringes at his jokes, we all know he gives that clear "you're lucky I love you" face. I dream of a relationship like theirs.

3. Kaveh x Alhaitam -

Saw it once or twice on my Twitter feed until it turned into nothing but Kavetham and Cynari, and I eventually began to obsess. Alhaitham surprisingly falls first but can't express it properly, like a neurodivergent with alexithymia. Kaveh slowly shifts his thoughts of Alhaitham from "can't believe I put up with that guy"  to "can't believe I'm in love with that guy". I think the autistic introvert -&- depressed extrovert angle may make for some interestingly dramatic angst. Good angst is fun to write. Plus, I'm on the spectrum and I can confirm that reading emotions (even our own) is either hard or near impossible.

4. Ayaka x Lumine -

The traveler I went with in my game is Lumine and I fell for Ayaka hard when we hung out at a festival before Lumine is made an enemy of the shogunate. Clearly, in the game, Ayaka falls in love first; but I also made an OC named Yuna Ren who fell for Ayaka as a child. I know it's cringe but... It's Ayaka-chan! I can admit I'm a bit of a simp for her.

5. Bennett x Razor -

When I found out they were friends, it was cool, but I saw something more building. Razor falls first, though doesn't understand it. Bennett enjoys having a more permanent team member and grows closer every day. They're super cute little twinks.

6. Ningguang x Beidou -

Two boss girls both dom energy however with good communication it works. Also whenever I feel like I ship too many dudes, I look at hot-I mean-pretty girls with chemistry. (Honestly, I'm surprised with how many mlm ships I have.) Ningquang falls first and... I may have an idea for an erotica oneshot. Stay tuned.

7. Xiao x Aether -

Mainly cause of fanart and if Lumine has Ayaka, the twin bro deserves a lil something special too. Xiao falls first. I mean- c'mon. That guy shows up within a second of calling his name like a genie.

8. Albedo x Sucrose -

Such a sweet and gentle intelligent pair. Sucrose falls for Albedo, and I can see Sucrose being his personal art model. If it was possible, I'd most likely cosplay as albedo (since him and HatGuy are the closest things I find to canon enby's in the game and not much a fan of the wanderer except his skill.)

9. Kazuha x Heizou -

Heizou's voicelines about Kazuha are really intresting. He obviously falls first and makes complex plans to hang out with him. They look very cute together.

10. Zingqui x Chongyun -

Sometimes when 2 characters just stand side-to-side in canon and if you see enough fanart, that's enough to ship two characters. Xingqiu falls first for the exorcist. I also think the combos of blue between the two is pretty nice.

javier is, a very very very morally grey person. he is nice and compassionate and so caring and kind. but he is SUCH a hypocrite with his morals. he has this whole thing with anim about how murder is bad and inexcusable but he got his mom killed. and his reasoning was "she was bad" and she was, but also, its subjective. javier is like "bad people deserve to die and good people do not" but then picks and chooses who is bad and who is good. anim by his definition, a killer, is bad, but he makes an exception for them because .... theyre hot and hes drawn to them and he loves them. which isnt a good excuse. he has such a complex about how much Better he is than zora and how he would Never Stoop So Low as if he didnt play a part in her becoming who she became. and hes really not much better than her at all.

and he loves selfishly. he "loves" selfishly because he doesnt LOVE most people, his relationships literally went "this person is showing interest in me, i need to bend over backwards to their every whim and be absolutely perfect and passive and never ever have an opinion or do anything wrong" and he does it "to make people happy" he thinks, and a part of him does, but a main reason he does it is the dopamine. he gets praised for being a good person and so helpful and kind and considerate. people say they love him and thats a reward he strives for because he didnt get that love as a child and hes trying to get it now. but he doesnt truly Love anyone before anim. and he realizes this because he starts trying to make them happy, and they dont give him anything. he gets no reward and that would usually turn him away, but he finds that he doesnt CARE if they reciprocate his feelings or if theyre nice back. he just wants them to be happy no matter WHAT and that is true love.

also..... he is a little. in DEVILTOWN au only he does fuck a patient (august) even though hes not "officially" a patient. august refuses to get help unless javier sleeps with him so javier does it to help him. but like. hes also getting 20 year old twink hole. again his intentions are like, mostly pure, but not fully. and then hes hypocritical with like "oh but thats bad, but im different because hes not officially my patient and its the only way" and blah blah.

all this to say like he is so flawed. hes a great person but hes so flawed. and i love it for him so much. firehazard isnt this edgy little morally grey twink and her perfect sunshine husband, its these two deeply flawed individuals who end up falling in love for the first time and helping each other grow as people. like. javier is so special he is my meowmeow and its objectively funny because his original character was just "mr galvez" who had no character design and his only traits were "jamie and kyras whore father". and now hes epic with big tits

Tbh Bakugou is an entitled brat that hasn't struggled a second of his life and treats others like garbage to the point where he was bullying his childhood friend even telling him to off himself basically hurting Deku for the sake of hurting Deku and STILL after all his change and after the apology, he still keeps being a brat (for comedic value mostly) and it's annoying as fuck to me because when you look at Enji he developed his crazy outlook on the world after experiencing a major trauma and when you look at him before the change and after it's two different people AND it is obvious that he either didn't mean to cause harm to his victims or the hurt wasn't the point (sorta machiavellian approach)

Every fucking chapter with Enji is about how much he struggles with himself and every fucking chapter with Bakugou is about how much he likes winning

Not to mention Baku is a born special kinda dude who didn't have to put in much effort when Endeavor is characterised as someone who has to work hard to achieve things and who is less blessed than "nature-born" heroes. This difference is very crucial to both their plotlines

They both want to be number one, they both are rude, aggressive and do wrong things and have to change to become better but fundamentally they come from different places and are two distinct characters. Bakugou has a massive ego and Enji has an inferiority complex. Those two things are not the same even if they manifest similarly

Obviously, I love inferiority complex characters more than massive ego ones THAT'S A PERSONAL OPINION (sorry every time I write my more negative opinion someone just has to start writing replies defending their faves)

Rietta has dark brown eyes, nothing particularly out of the ordinary. They're a feature from her mother's side of the family, something that further visually marks her as half-Otionovian, along with her dark hair, olive complexion, and strong facial features. There are some family members on her father's side that are disappointed in her appearance and have made remarks to her about it.

🥞 PANCAKE - what is their comfort breakfast?

Bread with butter and blackberry jam, fruit, and hot chocolate. Faysmondian breakfasts tend not to be very elaborate.

Pink roses, lavender, foxgloves, lilac, pansies, and a bit of mint. These are all flowers that grow in her grandparents' garden and have pleasant personal assocations.

In the language of flowers, those mean, respectively, grace, mistrust, insincerity, first emotions of love, thoughts/think of me, and virtue. Most of which are fitting.

🍁 MAPLE LEAF - what is their favourite season? why?

Summer! She lives in a mostly cold climate, and it's the one time of the year that the weather isn't too bad to do anything outdoors.

He's willing to eat just about anything, so fruit and vegetables have never posed any problems. He's partial to apples and carrots in particular.

Elystan

🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

Elystan, along with Rietta, Delclis, and an early form of Rachel, was created when I was fourteen and newly obsessed with Oz and Narnia and wanted to write a story in the same vein (mistake #1). I knew I wanted a princely character (Delclis), but then my ninth grade Kings of Israel class gave me an idea: my young prince about to succeed to the throne would have an entitled brat of a half brother with a claim to the crown (as Solomon did). So Elystan was created to be a Terrible Child and nothing more. He was magically deprived of his voice for a while and got it restored after an attitude adjustment (a much less impactful rip-off of Edmund's/Eustace's arc) and had a generic personality after that.

Not great characterization! Somewhere along the way I decided to justify my description of him as small and fragile-looking by giving him an illness, other literary influences took hold, and from there he gradually morphed into his (hopefully) more complex current form over the years.

🪤 MOUSE TRAP - what will always lure them into certain danger? a loved one in danger? a promise of something they are always searching for?

As we'll see if I ever finish Book 2, he's willing to risk a lot for the sake of his beloved father. He also makes poor choices when trying to save face or is chasing something he wants very badly.

She would probably tell her younger self to stand up for herself more, which quite frankly is what her current self needs to be told too.

She probably would want to be remembered as somebody who was reliable, dutiful, and efficient. Someone who did not shame her family and who looked after herself and others well without burdening anyone.

Bethira existed in the original draft too, and she was just a stereotype of a doting mother, very much to blame for how Elystan turned out (but somehow not doing much to protect Delclis from his Obviously Evil stepfather who is trying to kill him?). Over time I've come to examine her more as an individual and develop her more into a tragic figure, not perfect but still sympathetic.

So I want to talk about bakugo and deku, why? just because

TW SPOILERS AND LOTS OF RAMBLING

I'm sure lots of people talked about this already but I'm in the middle of a rewatch and as I'm halfay through s5 and have seen the first 2 movies and I'm lonely as hell and can't talk about this with people I will bother you lovely people.

So first of all I think both Izuku and Bakugo are very complex characters with awesome development and even though they are very different they also have lots in common.Let me explain myself Izuku is so kind-hearted and selfless, he wants to save people to win and he's so set on his goal he's going to help anyone no matter what,even if it means injuring himself,like he has NO regard for his well being,he's reckless and will throw himself head first without thinking most of the times,but he's also incredibly smart,perceptive and observant mostly because he grew up always watching from the sidelines (ff reference intended).

Now Bakugo has quite the opposite personality per say,he's hot-headed,rude and wants to win most of all, he wants to win to save people, he was always gifted and praised and grew up as a raging assh*le with a superiority complex,he's smart and very skilled in combat, both physically and mentally, BUT he lacks Izuku's innate compassion and heroism. I'm not saying he's not heroic in his own way but I would say that where Izuku resembles All Might in some ways Bakugo is more like Endeavour,controversial to say I know,and he's also scared of this side of Izuku because I think he feels lacking in that department and this awareness, plus the knowledge that he is in fact not the best out there, made him crumble under his inferiority complex like we saw after All Might's fall during the Ground Beta fight.

These two are also very similar,they both want to be the number one and top each other in avery way,are very strong willed and hard workers and will stop at nothing to achieve their goal. Sometimes they rush into decisions without thinking and are also very volatile,like one wrong word and you find yourself thrown across the room,they're both a little insane like that,but they push each other to be better and they look up to one another, Izuku's admiration always outspoken and out in the open whilst Bakugo's is not that evident.

Now I just want to clarify that I am an anime watcher and a victim of the new chapter spoiler so my knowledge is limited,this said I think they have such an interesting dinamic: they compliment each other's personalities very well and can be seen as two sides of the same coin.Being childhood friends there's obviously a lot of affection and care on both sides,I will fight you on this,they have that kind of connection and bond that it's rare to find and so special,Izuku was ready to give up One For All and his dream to Bakugo because he trusts him so much and knowd his potential and it's okay if it's him,like I'm sorry that just made me cry so hard.

Let's talk about the new chapter leaks.

I am trying to accept the fact that Bakugo may be dead and on one hand I kiiinda want to see Izuku going berserk and kick some ass,like the kind of pain he would feel I can't even imagine, he just loves and admires him so much it would break him but it would be very interesting to see,on the other killing one of the most beloved and important characters is a pretty risky move,people would be f*cking pissed but I'm curious to see what's next.

Okay favorite fast food is hard to choose! It used to be Whataburger because of their mushroom and swiss burger, but they removed it from their menu!! :( Now I'm inclined to say....Panda Express maybe?? Their orange chicken is great! Fave smoothie flavor would be blueberry-banana!

My favorite dress?? So many to choose from! I think my favorite is probably this yellow sundress that has spaghetti straps and has cute little pink flowers all over it. The bodice is pretty fitted and the skirt flows out very nicely when I spin! Also: POCKETS!!!!

My chosen HP creature as a pet would be....hmmmm. Can't I adopt them all???? I think a puffskein maybe! Fluffy and cuddly, just how I like 'em! I have 2 pygmy puff plushes at home, a pink and purple one whose names are Pippa and Puck! :) But I figure a puffskein is bigger which means more to love!

Tough call on the drink of choice, but I think I'll take the caramel one! Either way my partner would have to finish it for me...I can't do much of overly sweet drinks! Favorite sport would be QUIDDITCH. Cuz...I'm not much of a sports person, to be honest! But magical sports I can get behind!

For birthday gifts for the boys...hmmm! For Severus, I think a nice leatherbound book...a book he enjoys, but a version that's extra special! OR nice new boots and/or robes. High quality, but not ultra fancy...just practical and sturdy and nice. Our man deserves nice things! For Harry, I think a new broom is always a classic, or any flying gear. But also I have this little headcanon of Harry liking mechanical puzzles, so maybe a really complex and cool mechanical puzzle to work out!

If Severus only came back for one full day...hmm. I'd want him to have the best day ever! I'd bake him some goodies and we'd have tea and chat. Maybe we'd take a walk and go through a park or gardens, and maybe visit a museum. I bet he'd appreciate a museum. But mostly focus on quality time and talking and experiencing cool things for his one day back!

And if I timed it just right, I'd give him a big ole hug before he goes. Gotta make sure he doesn't kill me on his way back to the Afterlife, though.

Okay Shy Anon from before back here, I’ve been re-reading in anticipation and I so want to know!! Who do you imagine Shinsou got off with during the villain attack (trying to be as vague as possible for anybody who hasn’t read it yet)?

Touya’s prosthetic!! It seems like he has complex functional use of it and reader couldn’t tell it wasn’t the arm he was born with when appreciating him shirtless. Was your idea that it was some specialized quirk-enhanced prosthetic? Did Enji abuse his power to get his son top of the line technology from a support item company??

Also!! It seemed like Touya had control over the soulmate bond sometimes, the connection stopping or starting at extremely convenient times for him. Is it just extremely lucky coincidence? Does he have an innate control over the bond? Or maybe because he’s technically had half of the bond going for presumably longer than reader (it seemed implied to me that he was exposed before and when reader was exposed both pieces snapped into place)? Like a muscle he’s subconsciously been exercising, when everything connected he was already practiced and given enough time reader will be able to turn it on and off at will?

Also also, I don’t think I properly conveyed this im my first gush, but the remnants of his shrine still existing is so devastating. A constant reminder in his eyes that he’s dead to them. They got Dabi back, but the Touya they used to love is still dead, like he can’t be good enough now after what he’s done (whether that’s true or not). Sorry to keep blowing you up, you just occupy so much of my brainpower lately.

shinsou and seredipity: there's a line in shinsou's route said by aizawa along the lines of "just be grateful you were trapped alone" in the aftermath of the airport stuff. i imagined shinsou to have been separated from the group in a place where serendipity's quirk didn't even leak into. this is mostly bc

1) i think shinsou wouldn't've had the energy to have that conversation with ito if he'd had to deal with serendipity's quirk already, and

2) lololol if shinsou were in the same place as the rest of them, it gives them all an easy way out with his quirk--and in my head, i think it's funnier if bakugou says "i'm not gonna suck icy-hot's dick" and then he does. (i actually think it'd be more in character for bakugou to get one of them to give him a handjob but critique their method the whole time, but the dick sucking thing is funnier).

touya's prosthetic: i like to think that such prosthetics are available on the market for everyone. unrealistic, i know, but it's my fic, and i have high hopes for humanity. but since there's quirks specific enough to, say, matching colour palettes to complement skin tone, why shouldn't there be quirks to make lightweight but mechanically complex prosthetics? if endeavor interfered, i'd like to think that it was only to get an exact skin tone match made or perhaps as a rush order.

touya's control over the bond: FUCK that's so good that's SO good. i wish i had thought of that. the reason it cuts at convenient times is bc i needed it to cut for the plot lololol. in my head, yes, touya breathed in the dust first, but since his assigned soulmate hadn't yet breathed it in, it's like the quirk sat dormant, like a sleeper agent, until reader was affected. but fuck the idea of him practising with it is so cool!!! i bet that he and reader could use that to practise with the link now that they're together!!! that would make it safer when, like, one of them is driving or something lololol. and could lead to adorable shenanigans.

touya's empty shrine: urgHUGHrughrughhgurhg you're the perfect reader. you're exactly whom i want reading my bullshit. because yes yes yes it's fucking devastating that touya has to walk by essentially his grave!! and since his fam has cleared it out, they've clearly been, like, "yes this is inappropriate bc touya is living," but since they've left the shell, it still leaves the message that they're still mourning whom he used to be!!!! screams

Hmmm, I'll try to answer that question as best as I can. There are certain characters that I simply find cute or endearing (like Nene or Yamaguchi from Haikyuu, who I think I forgot to mention last time). But when it comes to others I just think it has to do with a good balance of good traits and flaws. I tend to gravitate towards characters who are wholesome but also have much more to give if you see through them!

Alphonse for example (feeling obligated to mention him as he is my literal url) is a kind hearted and loyal kid, but he also has many fears, insecurities and even selfish moments throughout the show. I don't know if you watched/read FMA so I'm trying not to say anything with spoilers :p There's a couple scenes of him that never fail to pull my heartstrings, he's just very well written overall

Talking about shounen, I also like shounen protags that subvert expectations. Gon is a cute adventurous child at first sight but the more you advance with the plot the more you notice some serious flaws that make him so fascinatingly complex!! He's just a little fucked up and I love him for that.

There's also Rin Okumura, a character I've loved for so long (+10 years) that it's difficult to explain why. He also looks like a typical shounen protag at the start but he's also such a ray of sunshine and a brat at the same time! He deeply cares about his loved ones and goes through so much development. A greatly written teen character overall :')
