Note
Djidjdjssnns cannot stop thing about what u said and Rin & Haru's sibling dynamic and how Rin would learn the phrase "brother from another mother" from one of his Australian buddies and WILL NOT stop calling Haru that, Haru's constantly like "I Do Not Know What That Means, also get off me"
Also during like an Olympic interview Haru referes to Rin as "one of the few people i considering to be the closest thing to having a brother" and that obviously sets off the waterworks for Rin 😩
rin and haru interpreting and expressing their friendship dynamic wildly differently is a big only child mood ✌🏻
rin trying so hard to have the Banter and the Competition and the Physical Touch and the Emotional Vulnerability and haru struggling to give it to him is so hilarious to me because yeah obviously? rin, give the overwhelmed only child some space!!!!
the twins are probably closest to actually feeling like siblings to haru but rin’s (kinda similar) instant and easily given familiarity is an enigma most of the time (nagisa too, but with rin’s energy it’s especially confusing and exhausting).
they just need a lot of time (and probably makoto and kou mediating between them) to understand the different ways the other expresses affection. still, to haru, rin referring to and treating him so familiarly does not make sense. to him it’s just one of those pushy things rin does to add to the list.
but as they constantly grow and learn more and more about each other, they get used to the things that seem absurd about the other. makoto compares them to the twins once and for a long time haru Does Not Understand. he mulls it over for YEARS before concluding that maybe there’s a point there. they have grown together, just not as kids. they annoy and say and do hurtful things to each other but somehow still have that unconditional love and appreciation between them. haru really doesn’t need or want rin to be like a brother per se, even now. but rin obviously does and haru’s finally ready to come to terms with it so… when he says it out loud it’s a huge thing for rin. and yeah maybe he should have said it privately but making rin cry on TV is a good price for admitting something so embarrassing

IDOLiSH7 6th Anniversary Special Story: Full of Heart...
Chapter 2: Tearjerking Memories
Chapter 1 | Chapter 3 | Chapter 4 | Chapter 5 | Chapter 6
Torao Mido: Atchoo!
Toma Inumaru: Caught a cold, Tora?
Minami Natsume: Don't infect the rest of us, please.
Haruka Isumi: Maybe it's hay fever? Apparently that can get pretty bad in August.
Torao Mido: Or, someone's talking about me... A pretty woman, most likely.
Toma Inumaru: Sure, whatever.
Shiro Utsugi: I must say, I'm impressed that you could reserve such an expensive-looking bar for us.
Torao Mido: It was no trouble at all. Besides, Haruka wanted to try going to a bar.
Haruka Isumi: He promised to take me here if I won in a game of Konpira Fune Fune. And I did.
Minami Natsume: Hee hee... Oh, Isumi-san. I didn't know you had what it takes to become a geisha.
Toma Inumaru: Don't teach Haru anything weird, now.
Shiro Utsugi: Since we're at such a fine establisment, we should make the most of it.
[Snap]
Shiro Utsugi: I'll have a Bloody Mary.
Toma Inumaru: You're going to drink? I thought we had a meeting...
Shiro Utsugi: This is a bar. We're not here to see the sights. Now go on, Inumaru-san, order something.
Toma Inumaru: A-alright. Uh...
Shiro Utsugi: As artists, you should enjoy life to the fullest. Don't worry about breaking the rules every now and then.
Minami Natsume: Should you be breaking the rules, Utsugi-san? I believe you're still an ordinary employee of the very strict Tsukumo Productions...
Shiro Utsugi: It'll be fine. I'll just climb the corporate ladder until I'm in a position where I can change the company to suit me.
Haruka's Thoughts: This Shiro Utsugi guy is really aggressive...
Torao's Thoughts: He's supposed to be our newbie manager, yet he's the one pushing us around...
Minami's Thoughts: I'd expect nothing less of the man Ryo-san chose as his last minute replacement.
Toma's Thoughts: I don't think I've ever seen someone order a drink by snapping their fingers before...
Shiro Utsugi: Let's have a toast before we begin our meeting. Order something, everyone.
Toma Inumaru: I'll have beer.
Torao Mido: A gin rickey.
Minami Natsume: Oolong tea.
Haruka Isumi: Orange juice.
Shiro Utsugi: And there you have it. That'll be all.
Shiro Utsugi: Now, would you mind showing me your childhood pictures before our drinks arrive?
Minami Natsume: The pictures for our "Welcome to Kids Room" guest appearance?
Shiro Utsugi: Yes. Did you bring them?
Toma Inumaru: I've got mine, yeah.
Haruka Isumi: Me too. Show me yours first, though. I wanna see what you  looked like as kids.
Toma Inumaru: No way, that's too embarrassing. You go first, Haru. You probably look the most similar to when you were little, anyway.
Haruka Isumi: You think so? Okay, fine. Here you go.
Torao Mido: Let's see...
Minami Natsume: My, how adorable.
Toma Inumaru: Whooa! You were super cute! With a round face like that, I'll bet you were a little angel!
Haruka Isumi: Don't call my face round.
Shiro Utsugi: You were a textbook junior idol, if I've ever seen one. You'd have made a good duo with Mitsuki Izumi of IDOLiSH7.
Torao Mido: But that guy's my age.
Minami Natsume: ........ To think that Kujo-san whisked him overseas not long after this picture was taken...
Toma Inumaru: I'd have been so worried for him...
Minami Natsume: As would I.
Haruka Isumi: I came back safe and sound. Nothing bad happened to me either, other than a rude wake up call.
Haruka Isumi: If that hadn't happened to me, I wouldn't be the main vocalist of an outlaw group like ours now.
Haruka Isumi: Pretty cool, huh?
Toma Inumaru: Hey cool outlaw, your orange juice is here.
Haruka Isumi: Whoa! There's an orange slice on the glass! Wow, that's so neat!
Shiro Utsugi: Now, let's toast.
Toma Inumaru: Yeah!
Toma Inumaru: ŹOOĻ...
Minami, Haruka, Torao, & Shiro: Rules!
[Clink]
Minami Natsume: Am I the only one who finds this cheer somewhat... lacking?
Toma Inumaru: We might wanna rethink it, yeah.
Torao Mido: There's a lot of dinosaur stickers plastered all over your house, Haruka. What's this one called?
Haruka Isumi: Uh... That's Dee, the Growlysaurus...
Toma Inumaru: Ah, I remember those! You must've really liked Growlysauruses. Should I buy you one sometime?
Haruka Isumi: I-I don't need one, stupid! How old do you think I am?
Haruka Isumi: Give me my picture back. It's someone else's turn.
Torao Mido: I'll show you mine.
Toma Inumaru: Well?
Toma Inumaru: ...Your limbs were freaking LONG! This is basically just a tinier version of how you look now...
Minami Natsume: Oh my. I quite like the way you looked at this age.
Torao Mido: Yeah, I bet you do.
Minami Natsume: Is this a transformation belt?
Haruka Isumi: It is. I kinda wasn't expecting you to bring a photo like this.
Torao Mido: I learned something recently. Namely, that even a perfect man like me is more interesting with some mundane characteristics.
Haruka Isumi: I guess some kid who plays with transformation belts is a lot more approachable than a flawless celebrity.
Torao Mido: Exactly.
Toma Inumaru: You don't gotta make excuses, you know. The truth is that you just thought it was a nice photo, right?
Toma Inumaru: You said you like all this sentai and superhero stuff. For  what it’s worth, I think the pic's nice, too.
Torao Mido: ...That wasn't why I picked it, really.
Toma Inumaru: Yeah, right.
Torao Mido: It was a calculated decision.
Toma Inumaru: No need to play tough. It's fine that you chose a picture you liked from when you were little.
Torao Mido: I told you, that's not why.
Toma Inumaru: Ahaha! You're starting to sound a little too defensive.
Torao Mido: ........ Whatever. Maybe I'll just use a different picture.
Toma Inumaru: Oh, stop sulking, for Pete's sake!
Shiro Utsugi: Don't try to tear it up, now. I agree that you'll most likely garner more attention with a picture like this, Mido-san.
Torao Mido: I knew it. Okay, I'm going with this picture for the show. What about you, Minami? What kind of picture did you bring?
Minami Natsume: Mine isn't particularly interesting. Anyone can look up what I looked like as a child, after all.
Torao Mido: But you did bring a photo, right?
Minami Natsume: I did.
Shiro Utsugi: Would you be so kind as to show it to us?
Minami Natsume: Very well. Here it is.
Toma & Haruka: ...So cute!!!
Haruka Isumi: You were adorable as a kid, Minami! Like a girl or something! A really cute one!
Toma Inumaru: Kinda like Tora, you looked like a mini version of what you're like now, but in a different way! You've definitely got the air of a celebrity here!
Shiro Utsugi: This must be from around the time you were filming the movie Kagurazaka. Even as a child, you had very fine features.
Minami Natsume: Hee hee. Thank you. I do enjoy a bit of unfiltered praise every now and then.
Torao Mido: Was this taken at your home? That's a pretty big piano you've got.
Minami Natsume: Yes. I took piano lessons when I was younger.
Minami Natsume: I had to quit playing when my work got too busy to allow for it, but I finally resumed my lessons a few years ago...
Toma Inumaru: So you're basically a musical genius. That's cool.
Minami Natsume: Hee hee... Yes, it is cool. Now then, would you mind showing us your picture, Inumaru-san?
Toma Inumaru: Sure thing!
Haruka Isumi: What kind of photo did you pick?
Toma Inumaru: I figured at least one of us should bring in something goofy, so I got the funniest one I could find!
Torao Mido: Funny... Ah, you're at a festival, wearing a happi!
Shiro Utsugi: Oh, you've even got a sarashi wrapped around you. It looks very authentic.
Minami Natsume: You must've lived in a neighborhood that loved festivals.
Haruka Isumi: I'm jealous. I wish I could've worn clothes like this to a festival, too.
Toma Inumaru: I could take you to a festival around where I'm from. The neighborhood grannies would be all over you, Haru.
Haruka Isumi: Yeah, I wanna go! This picture's pretty nice. I bet it'll be good for the show.
[Phone rings]
Torao Mido: Hmm...? Oh, now that's unusual. Sogo says he needs to ask me something in person.
Toma Inumaru: Ask him where he is, and if he's nearby, go see him. It could be something urgent.
Torao Mido: But aren't we in the middle of a meeting?
Shiro Utsugi: We're all done now. You may go.
Toma Inumaru: Oh, that's it?
Haruka Isumi: We could've stayed at the agency if all we were gonna do is show our pictures...
Minami Natsume: Now, now. At least we got to deepen our friendship at this lovely bar.
Torao Mido: I asked Sogo. Turns out he and Tamaki Yotsuba both happened to be in the neighborhood, so they're headed here.
Haruka Isumi: Yotsuba's coming, too? I bet he's gonna freak out, because he's never been in a place like this before.
Haruka Isumi: I suppose I'll just have to teach him how us adults hang out.
Toma Inumaru: Says the boy sipping on orange juice.
[Door opens]
Tamaki Yotsuba: Good evening.
Sogo Osaka: Pardon our intrusion.
Haruka Isumi: Yotsuba!
Tamaki Yotsuba: Whoa... This place has a super mature vibe... I knew ŹOOĻ's up to no good.
Sogo Osaka: That's rude to the establishment, you know.
Tamaki Yotsuba: It's not my fault this place looks like people come here to make shady deals.
Sogo Osaka: It's calming. And there are plenty of places like this in the world.
Sogo Osaka: Good evening, Mido-san. ŹOOĻ. I'm sorry for dropping by on such short notice.
Shiro Utsugi: Good evening, Osaka-san and Yotsuba-san.
Sogo Osaka: Good evening. You're Utsugi-san, yes? ŹOOĻ's manager.
Shiro Utsugi: That’s right. Thank you for remembering.
Torao Mido: This has to be the first time you're asking me for anything. What do you want to drink?
Sogo Osaka: Just oolong tea, please.
Tamaki Yotsuba: I want this one! The frozen cocktail that looks like ice! I bet it's yummy.
Sogo Osaka: No, Tamaki-kun. It's alcoholic.
Tamaki Yotsuba: Really? Do they have a version without the booze?
Minami Natsume: I think the bartender could make you one.
Tamaki Yotsuba: Awesome! I'll have one of those.
Haruka Isumi: I want one, too.
Torao Mido: I'll have the alcoholic version. Should I go ahead and order you one too, Sogo?
Sogo Osaka: Ah... Um, alright.
Tamaki Yotsuba: So-chan!
Sogo Osaka: It's fine. This drink is basically just a sherbert, it won't get me drunk.
Tamaki Yotsuba: Don't you know that ice is just frozen water?
Sogo Osaka: I do know that.
Tamaki Yotsuba: So it's still booze! It's just been frozen!
Sogo Osaka: It can't be that strong. And besides, it's the same as yours.
Tamaki Yotsuba: So what if it's the same?
Sogo Osaka: Our matching drinks would make a nice picture for social media.
Tamaki Yotsuba: I can't believe your first approach to everything is still to be some kind of businessman.
Sogo Osaka: It's not as if people can tell how close we truly are based on a picture of some food. If that were the case, we wouldn't truly understand each other at all.
Tamaki Yotsuba: Especially since everything you eat is bright red.
Sogo Osaka: And you only have eyes for King Pudding.
Toma Inumaru: What're you mumbling about?
Sogo Osaka: It was just a mini meeting. We're done now.
Minami Natsume: Much like us, then.
Tamaki Yotsuba: I did it for you guys' sake too, y'know.
Torao Mido: Our drinks are here. Let's toast.
Haruka Isumi: Does MEZZO" have a cheer for when you toast?
Tamaki Yotsuba: A cheer?
Haruka Isumi: It makes things more exciting.
Tamaki Yotsuba: We've got a cheer for calming Re:vale down..?
Sogo Osaka: But it's a bit too long for making a toast. Hmm, a cheer for MEZZO"...
Toma Inumaru: Don't think too hard about it. It can be something simple, like one of you says "MEZZO"" and the other one says "rules".
Sogo Osaka: I see. We could give that a try. Tamaki-kun, which part do you want to say?
Tamaki Yotsuba: The first part.
Sogo Osaka: Alright. Well then, everyone raise your glasses...
Tamaki Yotsuba: MEZZO".
Sogo Osaka: Rules.
[Clink!]
Sogo Osaka: So, what I wanted to ask you is...
Torao Mido: Hold up! We need to talk about your cheer first. Any thoughts!?
Sogo Osaka: Thoughts..? Tamaki-kun, what do you think?
Tamaki Yotsuba: It's kinda short.
Haruka Isumi: Totally. So is our "ŹOOĻ Rules!"
Minami Natsume: Isumi-san. Be careful not to hurt Inumaru-san's feelings.
Toma Inumaru: Ahaha! It's fine! Not like that cheer was my best effort, anyway...
Sogo Osaka: Thank you for the suggestion, Toma. We probably can't use this cheer all the time, but we'll try to make use of it when we can...
Toma Inumaru: Don't sweat it, seriously! It was just the first thing that came to my mind! You don't even gotta use it!
Sogo Osaka: I-I'm sorry if we can't use it often enough.
Toma Inumaru: I'm telling you, it's FINE!
Sogo Osaka: Thank you. That's very nice of you to say. Mido-san, may I tell you why we're here now?
Torao Mido: Let's hear it.
Sogo Osaka: To tell you the truth...
- - - -
Torao Mido: Ah, Ito-san. That brokerage firm CEO who likes traveling and photography...
Sogo Osaka: Yes, him. He took a picture of me once.
Sogo Osaka: And when we discussed his camera, he told me that he saves all his negatives...
Torao Mido: So he should still have them? Just go meet up with him, then.
Sogo Osaka: We don't have that sort of relationship. He may be my father's old friend, but I've been disinherited, so...
Haruka Isumi: Disinherited?
Sogo Osaka: Being disinherited means your parents have cut ties with you.
Haruka Isumi: You were adopted..? And he said you were a disappointment and chased you out?
Sogo Osaka: No, we're biologically related. I might still be a disappointment... But I don't regret my decisions.
Sogo Osaka: I wanted to live as a musician.
Minami Natsume: What a wonderfully sympathetic story. I like you. The world needs more artists like yourself.
Sogo Osaka: Natsume-kun...
Minami Natsume: I hereby pledge my support to Osaka-san. Mido-san, you simply must do something to help him.
Torao Mido: Like what..? I haven't seen the guy in ages, either.
Toma Inumaru: You should still have an easier time getting a hold of him than Sogo. At least call him once.
Tamaki Yotsuba: Toracchi, please! If you call him, I'll stop calling you an evil rich guy!
Torao Mido: I didn't know you called me that in the first place... Fine. I'll give him a call.
Sogo Osaka: Thank you.
Torao Mido: It's no trouble at all, really. You may be an heir with a strict upbringing, but I'm a spoiled youngest son.
Haruka Isumi: So did this Ito-san spoil you, too?
Torao Mido: He owns a boat that I got to ride on a few times, not to mention he's got a few unique side ventures.
Sogo Osaka: Unique side ventures...
Torao Mido: He never told me about them in much detail. He may be a CEO, but he doesn't have any family to share his wealth with.
Torao Mido: So his side ventures have to do with finding said family... ...Ah, he picked up.
Torao Mido: Hellooo? Ah, Uncle Ito? It's been so long! Yeah, it's me, Torao.
Toma Inumaru: That's how I talk to the old ladies from my neighborhood!
Tamaki Yotsuba: He speaks just like Rikkun when he's asking for something!!!
Sogo Osaka: So this is what it's like when you're the youngest child... I wonder if even Iori-kun has a side like this...
Torao Mido: Ahaha. I'm doing fine, just fine. I've got a friend here who wants to talk to you, do you mind if I put him on?
Torao Mido: Here you go, Sogo.
Sogo Osaka: Thank you so much, Mido-san.
Torao Mido: Hmph. Let's just agree that you owe me one.
Haruka Isumi: I can't believe you're still trying to act tough, after sweet talking the guy like that...
Sogo Osaka: Ito-san. It's been a while. This is Sogo. ...Yes, that's right. Sogo Osaka.
Sogo Osaka: Ah... You bought an IDOLiSH7 CD? Thank you very much.
Tamaki Yotsuba: He knows us!
Minami Natsume: This bodes well.
Sogo Osaka: Is it at all possible for me to borrow certain old photo negatives from you..?
Sogo Osaka: I need the photo you took of me and my uncle in our garden. It's very important... Really!?
Tamaki Yotsuba: What'd he say!?
Sogo Osaka: He said he'd reprint the photo for me!
Haruka & Tamaki: Awesome!!!
Toma Inumaru: Yay! That's great!
Shiro Utsugi: Congratulations! Let's all have another toast!
Tamaki Yotsuba: MEZZO"...
Minami, Toma, Haruka, Torao, & Shiro: Rules!!!
Sogo Osaka: P-please, be quiet, everyone. Thank you, Ito-san. I'll come get the photo in a few days.
Sogo Osaka: Where are you now? ...What?
Sogo Osaka: The North Pacific..?
To be continued...

Betting on Christmas
Idk why I like posting my fics here instead of other sites, but I do. Got a Persona 5 fanfiction coming your way. Christmas addition because why not? Here’s the point where I say the obligatory I do not own any of these characters. This is just my portrayal.
Anyways~
Word Count:  2,472
Pairings: Pegoryu, Hint to HaruMako
Author’s note: My version of Akira is an Enby (He/They pronouns). Also this is Christmas fluff. There’s nothing sad about this story. All the fluff you can ever ask for.
Akira stared at the ceiling for just a bit longer, sighing at himself before promptly getting out of bed. Shivering as the cold air hit his arms, well it was December after all. Looking around for something warm to put on when he spotted the purple of Ryuji’s sweater peaking from under the bed.
 He bit his bottom lip, as he thought to himself, would it really be okay if he wore it? He picked it up off the floor shaking the dust off. When another burst of cold air hit his skin. Screw it, he was cold.
 It was musty from sitting on the floor for over a month, yet somehow the faint smell of Ryuji still lingered. Akira would be lying to himself if he said he did not miss his best friend. Or were they more then that, he still did not know.
Akira shook his head of the thoughts and trotted down the stairs, “Well innit my favourite enby.” Came a voice from the table to the right.
A quick gasp of surprise escaped his lips, Ryuji was not due back for another week. “Here to ambush me again I see.” Akira gained his composure quickly.
“No stop.” Ryuji said through a smile, he could not be annoyed for long.
Standing up Ryuji hooked his arms over his friend’s shoulders, embracing him into a hug. “My sweater?” He asked, breaking from the hug and tugging at the bottom; The distance between the two, remaining short.
“You’re just noticing this.” Akira chimed, blush seeping its way to his cheeks.  He knew he shouldn’t have put the sweater on.
Flustered, Ryuji let go of the sweater, only to rub his hand on the back of his neck. “Um. Yeah.” He mused, clearing his throat.
“Yeah um. Yeah. I’ve been thinking and um.” Ryuji started to ramble, looking everywhere in the room but at Akira.
Akira furrowed his eyebrows, wondering to himself what this was all about. He had known Ryuji for a long time, and it is not a common sight to see him this nervous. But he knew better then to interrupt him, he would get to the point soon.
“Did you want to go out?” Ryuji blurted, his eyes wide.
Akira’s heart jumped to his throat, pounding hard. “Like to train? The gym might be open.” He had to be sure.
A strained chuckle came out of Ryuji. “No. Not like that. Don’t do this to me.” Akira had to be wearing his sweater. That made this so much harder.
“Like you have a crush on me, and you want to see where it goes?” If Ryuji had the strength to put himself out there, then so did he. Only someone like Ryuji could motivate him like this, but that didn’t make his heart stop from feeling like it could explode any second.
“Yeah! How’d you know?”
“Because that is how I feel too.”
“For real?!” Ryuji’s eyes shone bright with his question. He couldn’t believe it, he was so excited.
Akira could not hold in his excitement and wrapped his arms around Ryuji’s waist and pulled him close. Ryuji followed suit, sneaking his hands past the zipper so they laid underneath the sweater. Akira nuzzled his face into Ryuji’s shoulder, nothing could have made him happier to have his feelings reciprocated.
The two held their embrace for some time before separating. “Come on.” Ryuji placed his hand into Akira’s. “I have a plan.” He added, pulling him towards the door to LeBlanc.
Just then Futaba came walking through the door, the ring of the door announcing her presence. “You’re back early.” Futaba commented, her line of sight finding its way to their hands. “It’s about time. You two have been pinning for each other for forever. Nothing like a slow burn but come on.”
Akira glanced over to Ryuji; he knew that panicked look anywhere. But now he could do something about it. He gave Ryuji’s hand a squeeze. Ryuji made eye contact with Akira, but he still looked stressed. “Tell Sojiro I won’t be able to help in the shop today.”
“Sure thing love birds.” Futaba teased, as she let them pass.
____________
The hood of Ruyji’s sweater covered Akira’s head as he headed his way back into the Café. Ryuji pressed his forehead against Akira’s, humming softly. “I had a good time.”
“When did you get all mushy?” Akira smirked.
“Aw, come on, you can’t tell me you don’t wanna say this stuff too.” Ryuji immediately went on the defense.
“Fine. But don’t miss your train.” He mused.
“Ah Shit.” Ryuji pulled himself away from their embrace, already running towards the train station. Halfway down the block, Ryuji turned and yelled, “I’ll text you.” Before disappearing.
As if on cue, the moment Akira sat on his bed he received a text from Ryuji.
R: I can’t believe I have a boyfriend now.
R: Wait
R: Is it okay that I call you that?
R: What would it be instead of boyfriend?
A: What makes you think the date went that well?
R: You have got to be kidding me
R: What?!
A: I’m joking with you. You sure are adorable when you’re flustered.
R: I…
R: I honestly don’t know what to say to that.
A: Can I be Bae? I’ll be satisfied with the replacement.
R: I can’t believe I didn’t think of that sooner.
R: Bae it is.
In the morning Akira didn’t even want to mess with dealing with the masses downstairs. He simply threw up the hood and snuck right out the front door. As planned the night before he met his boyfriend at the gym.
As expected, Akira made it to the gym before Ryuji did, so to not waste time he jumped onto a treadmill. Giving him plenty of time to think to himself. They both adjusted to this so quickly, was it really that easy?
“So, I was thinking we should do something for Christmas.” Ryuji jumped onto the treadmill next to Akira.
“We already are. Or did you forget the Phantom Thieves party?”
“I… Can you stop making me feel like an idiot?”
“The party is on Christmas Eve. We can celebrate alone Christmas Day.”
“I..” Ryuji stepped on the sides of the treadmill, watching the belt run on its own before looking over to Akira. “I don’t know what I would do without you to keep me calm man.”
Akira stopped his treadmill and reached over to Ryuji and rested his hand on top of his. Looking into his boyfriend’s eyes suddenly made him feel nervous. “Yeah.” Was all he managed to say, chickening out on what he was planning. It was too soon to say things like that. Just getting used to calling him a boyfriend in his head was enough for now.
“How is that fair.” Ryuji pulled his hands away, turning off his treadmill and jumping off. “Giving me chills like that.” He glanced at Akira’s lips for a moment, before shaking his head, the thoughts rattling away. “Come spot me.” He wrapped his hand gently around Akira’s wrist and gave his arm a tug.
 _______________
The next Eight days the two boys spent every day together. One day was a training day the next day was more of a date. Going back and forth each day. Ryuji finding more and more reasons to stare at Akira’s lips, but not doing anything about it. Akira not being able to shake the sweet words that touched his tongue but never made it past his lips.
The night came and Ryuji made his way to the train station. Yet the moment Akira made his way to his room he already pulled out his phone.
A: [ . . . ]
A: [ . . . ]
A: [ . . . ]
A: I miss you.
He finally typed. Send. His fingers were harder to control then his mouth. His chest felt tight as he waited for a response. He was probably getting on the train.
Or not.
R: Can you let me in.
R: I missed my train.
A: OMW
_________________
What was this weight on him? Oh. As Akira opened his eyes, he remembered the night before. Him and Ryuji talked until they fell asleep. Suddenly aware of his heartbeat as his boyfriend’s head laid on his chest. Calling him boyfriend was starting to feel a bit more right the more he looked at Ryuji so relaxed. A smile spread across his face as he rested back into his bed. Closing his eyes to the subtle snoring sounds coming from Ryuji. This was nice.
“Urrgg.” Ryuji groaned as he started to wake up. “Wher’ m’ I?” Looking more confused as he opened his eyes.
“The ultimate ambush.” Akira smirked, reaching over and ruffling Ryuji’s hair.
“Stop.” Ryuji pushed Akira’s hand away, “Is that how you treat your boyfriend?” he mumbled, still trying to find his full strength.
Akira gasped softly. He said it out loud. “This one, yes.” He mused.
There it was again, Ryuji’s eyesight flickering for just a moment. And again, Akira decided to ignore it. This time.
“Ah Crap.” Ryuji shouted, his limbs scrambling in order to get out of the bed. “I have…” Grabbing all of his things. “plans.” He finished his sentence out of breath.
“I’ll see you next week.” Akira said, handing Ryuji’s sweater back to him. “It’s cold, you’re going to need it.”
“Thanks bae.” Ryuji mused, the two brushing hands one last time.
 _______________
CHRISTMAS EVE
Haru and Makoto showed up first. Makoto brushed her hair behind her ear the moment they entered LeBlanc, as if hiding something. The two girls exchanged glances before placing their contribution onto one of the tables.
Ann appeared just as Akira made his way down the stairs.
“Oh hey.” Akira smiled at the crew that already arrived. “Who are we waiting for?”
And just then in came Yusuke and Ryuji came walking in through the door. Akira had to drag his gaze away from Ryuji to keep himself from staring. But it was hard, he was absolutely glowing.
“Hey man.” Ryuji approached Akira and gave him a hug, but considering their crowd he may have lingered a bit too long.
“What’s up losers?” Futaba entered the room.
The two boys broke their embrace, Ryuji rubbing his hand on the back of his neck.
“Futaba!” Yusuke gasped. “I daresay, that was a bit rude.”
“Whatever Inari.” Futaba sneered.
Before a fight could break out the bell on the door rung one last time, Yoshizawa entering. “Sorry I’m late.” She mused.
“Dude, there’s nothing to be sorry about.” Ryuji chimed.
The Christmas party of the Phantom Thieves began after that. It didn’t take long for laughter to fill the air. The group talking, eating, even playing some Tycoon. Catching up again was what the group of friends needed. Occasionally Haru or Futaba would bother Morgana with some petting.  Haru and Makoto stealing glances just as much as Ryuji and Akira were. Nobody seemed to say anything about it until.
“Alright suckers, pay up.” Futaba said to the group.
“What really we won?” Makoto exclaimed.
“I would require proof before I pay up.” Yusuke looked over to Akira and Ryuji, who have been talking to each other in the corner. Sitting so close that if Ryuji leaned back slightly his shoulder would touch Akira’s.
“Look at them, is that not proof?” Futaba pointed to the two.
“No. I would have to agree with Yusuke.” Yoshizawa piped up.
Morgana hopped onto the table in front of the two. “Are you even paying attention?”
“What do you want cat?!” Ryuji growled.
Without thinking Akira reached over and grabbed Ryuji’s hand, giving it a squeeze. Ryuji looked over to Akira and sighed. “You’re right bae, we shouldn’t fight on Christmas.”
“Bae?!” Yoshizawa exclaimed.
“Is that even Ryuji?!” Yusuke shouted.
“He he he.” Futaba snickered.
“WHAAAAT?!” Went Ann.
“We got them guys.” Makoto said.
“Why don’t you just let these two be.” Haru chimed, but her voice was washed out by the rest of the shouting.
“What are you guys even on about?” Ryuji gritted his teeth, glaring at all his friends.
“I think they want to know if you’re my boyfriend.” Akira pointed out calmly, having now figured out what they were talking about.
“Of course I am!” Ryuji snapped in the moment, before he realized what he said. Looking at Akira with wide eyes. “Wait I… That’s not how I wanted this to go.”
“Their turn to ambush us.” Akira teased, only loud enough for Ryuji to hear.
Ryuji laughed. “Stop. You’re cute.”
“Gasp. I’m cute?” Akira feigned surprise.
The crew ignored the couple for a moment as they passed around money. Makoto, Morgana, Futaba giddy with excitement. Haru sighed, she didn’t see the point in betting on their friends. The rest groaned as their pockets were emptied.
The group of friends went to normal after that. They continued to laugh and eat and enjoy each other’s company. And one by one they all left so to not miss the last train out to their individual homes. Even Ryuji saying his goodbye. For they will meet up again tomorrow. Akira started to clean up the café in order to pass the time.
“Wait you’re gay?” Sojiro asked, leaning over the counter.
“Heh.” Akira chuckled, now is when he decided to ask? “And you’re surprised?”
“I guess not. You got me there.” Sojiro headed for the door. “As long as you’re happy kid. Don’t forget to lock up.”
________________
CHRISTMAS DAY
Nothing huge really happened. Ryuji came over, they exchanged gifts. And the couple talked and cuddled. It was a really quiet day. If anything, it was relaxing.
“When are you going back?” Akira asked.
Ryuji looked up from his phone, “Three days, why?”
“I’m going to miss you.” Akira cooed.
“Oh. Um. Well, you have me now.” Ryuji struggled to know what to say. He sat down on the bed next to Akira. Moments later his eyeline flickered once more.
Akira was sick of ignoring it. Leaning forward and cupping Ryuji’s face in his hand. “Once a phantom thief always a phantom thief.” Akira said, shaking his head without breaking eye contact with his boyfriend.
Ryuji scrunched his face in confusion, “What do ya mean?”
Akira stopped second guessing and pressed forward, his lips meeting the other’s. Ryuji gasped, yet he did not pull away. Eventually his clumsy ways smoothed out as he returned the kiss.
Pulling back softly the boys pressed their foreheads against each other, in a moment of pure bliss. “You can steal my heart any day.” Akira finally answered. Not afraid to speak his mind any longer.
Ryuji chuckled as it was his turn to take the leap, placing a new kiss onto Akira’s lips.

Mini Fanfic #692: Teenagers React to Everyone Losing in Mario Golf World Tour (SSBU)
Mario
Mario gets hit by a Green She'll and turns into his little self on Screen.
Futuba: Wait. (Eyes Widened in Complete Disbelief at the Screen) THAT CAN ACTUALLY HAPPEN TO HIM!?
Ren: We've seen this man get stabbed, detonated, and knocked out many times than any of us can count. And none them ever resulted him into being little.
Lavenza: Perhaps it's the Green Shell's doing......(Place her Hand on her Chin and Starts Thinking) Hmmmmm.........
Futuba: (Turns to Lavenza) Anything on your mind, Lavvy-chan?
Lavenza: This might be hunch, but....How about we try devising a plan? Where we can try hitting Mario with a Green Shell ourselves.
Futuba: That way, we can see if he can turn into a small plumber or not. (Smiles Brightly and Excitedly) That's GENIUS!
Ren: (Has a bit of a Curious Smirk on his Face) Wouldn't mind being a part of that plan myself. I think my throwing skills has gotten better overtime.
Futuba: Mines too!
Makoto: (Immediately Gives the Trio Her Signature Cold Niijima Glare) We are NOT throwing a Green Shell at Mario.
Ren: There it is.
Futuba: (Starts Giving Makoto a Disappointed Pouty Face) Makotooo.....
Lavenza: (Genuinely Shocked and Disappointed) But why ever not, Ms. Queen?
Makoto: Because it's very rude and completely uncalled for. I mean seriously, what would Peach say if she saw you three going through with plan? She would be very disappointed. As I am with you three for even thinking about doing this.
Futuba: Come on, sis! Can't we just-
Makoto: (Stares Piercing her Glare) The answer's no and that's final.
Ren/Lavenza/Futuba: (Straighten Themselves Up in a Bit of Fear) Yes, ma'am!
Lavenza: (Genuinely Surprised) Goodness! I have no idea the Queen could be so terrifying....
Futuba: (Starts Shrugging) That's Makoto for ya. Her glares and motherly attitude are completely outmatched in our ragtag group. You know, besides Haru.
Haru: (Happily and Gently Scratches Under Morgana's Chin While He's Sitting and Purring onto her Lap, Causing her to Giggle Softly Altogether)
Lavenza: I see.... So I suppose nothing could ever try and faze her in some occasions, yes?
Futuba: For the most part.
Ren: (Smirks Like a Love Struck Dork) That's one of the million reasons why I love that beautiful woman after all~
Makoto: (Pouts at Ren) Stop trying to flattering me, Ren-Ren!~ The answer's still no!
Ren: (Chuckles Lightly) We know that already, 'hon~ I just wanted to tell you how much I love you is all~ (Kiss Makoto on the Cheek)
Makoto: (Lays her Head on Ren's Shoulder Once She Begins to Blush) Dummyhead~ (Hugs Ren Afterwards) Love you too~
Futuba: (Puts on a Deadpinned Look on Her Planned) Unless your name is Ren-Ren and try making her blush like a strawberry.....
Lavenza: Fascinating.....
Coco: (Writing Down Somthing on her Notepad)
Tails: Writing down possible theories and methods of any of this makes sense?
Coco: Yup!~
Luigi
Luigi sadly slouches down onto the floor and gets licked by a Boo on screen.
Yoshi: I dunno which is sadder.... Seeing my Luigi being sad or seeing him getting licked by a random Boo.
Pit: (Starts Shrugging Slowly) At least he didn't call himself a loser that time.
Yoshi: Yeah.
Peach
Peach dramatically faints, with heartstrings playing in the background, on screen.
Sonic: ('Sigh') There goes mom being dramatic again.....
Amy: (Happily Resting her Head into Sonic's Shoulder) I feel like you've gotten that from her as of late.
Sonic: ('Heh') Yeah right. Like I can be a drama as well-
Amy: Ice cream on Chili Dogs.
Sonic: (Eyes Widened and Gasps Loudly From his Girlfriend's Sudden Words and Dramatically Points at her) How DARE YOU say those words in front of me!? Your own BOYFRIEND!
Amy: (Giggles Softly at How Adorable her Sonic is Being Right Now) I rest my case~
Yoshi
Yoshi went into his egg in a very sad manner and starts rolling around the area before falling down on screen.
Ann: (Place her Hands onto her Mouth) Oh my gosh! This is so hard to watch!
Shiho: (Hugs Ann's Arm) This is so sad....
Haru: And so adorable at the same time!~
Morgana: (Sighs While Rolling his Eyes)
Futuba: (Raise her Hand) All in a agreement to hug Yoshi later on, say aye!
Ann/Shiho/Haru: (Raises Their Hands as Well) AYE!~
Lavenza: (Raises her Hand as Well) I would also like to join in this event as well!
Dark Pit: (Smirks Smugly at an Already Annoyed Yoshi) Guess who's back on his cuteness bullshit?
Ryuji: (Chuckles Lightly) Yeah.
Yoshi: For the love of...(Gets Up From his Seat) Why does everyone in this room thinks I'm cute?
Ann: Because you are-
Yoshi: Okay. I get. I flutter jump, I turn into an egg, and I admit, I do have a cute face. But for GOD SAKES, I know Kung Fu! I-I know how to drive a car with little to no problem! (Got Out his Trusty Nunchucks) I even learned how to use Nunchucks and everything!!!
Ryuji: Come on, man. You're overreacting.
Coco: Yeah. There's nothing wrong having a little cuteness in ya. (Happily Gives Yoshi a Thumbs Up) I think it suits you perfectly well.
Yoshi: (Turns to Tails) See, even your girlfriend thinks I'm cute, Tails!
Tails: (Eyes Widened at What Yoshi Just Said) Wait.....
Tails/Coco: WHAAAAAAAAAT!!!!!?
Coco: (Starts Blushing Herself) B-B-But weren't not dating! We're best friends!
Tails: (Starts Blushing as Well) E-Exactly! A-And besides.....(Chuckles a bit Lately) I-I'm pretty sure Coco wouldn't really be interested in dating someone as boring as me-
Coco: ('GASPS') (Pouts at Tails) Miles Tails Prower, how could you!!?
Tails: (Taken Aback by Coco's Sudden Change of Attitude) What? W-What did I say?
Coco: How could you say that about yourself!? You are absolutely NOT boring to me at all!
Tails: Y-You think so-
Coco: (Grabs Tails' Hands and Gently Squeezes Them) I KNOW so, mister! You're the most smartest, brilliant, precious little cinnamon roll I've ever met and anyone who thinks otherwise are dumb and stupid!
Tails: (Almost at a Loss of Words) Coco.....
Coco: I mean it, Tails! I don't EVER wanna see you put yourself down like that ever again, you hear me!?
Tails: I won't do that anymore! I promise!
Coco: (Stares at Tails For a Brief Second Before Sighing) Good. (Gives Tails a Loving Hug) I'm glad we come to an understanding. I love you, bud.
Tails: (Chuckles Lightly While Hugging Coco Back) I love you too, Coco. Thank you.
Almost Everyone: (Stares at the Best Friends Hugging Each Other) (Yeah. They would SO be cute couple together.)
Amy: (So CUUUUUUUUTEEEE!!!~)
Daisy
Daisy tries calming herself down before taking one look at the camera and starts angrily stomping and looking away on screen.
Ryuji: Sheesh. Even when she try to calm down, she still gets angry....
Yoshi: That's my mom for ya. Always a low-key bad sport.
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong starts slapping the ground angrily before a random barrel came down and hit his head, causing him to fall down unconscious on screen.
Yusuke: That has to be a painful experience to go through.
Futuba: Tell me about it. I highly doubt that any normal human could survive a random barrel falling down on their heads.....or their entire body.
Ryuji: I envy that gorilla sometimes....
Diddy Kong
Diddy Kong lazily eats his banana, throws the peel on the floor beside him, gets up, ,immediately slips on the peel and fell on screen.
Ren: Yeah. No. He had that one coming.
Everyone: (Nodding and Completely Agrees to What Ren was Saying) Yeah./ Very True./ Uh huh.
Wario
Wario gets struck by lightning on screen.
Ryuji: (Eyes Widened in Complete Shock) JESUS! Where the hell did that lightning came from? It's not even raining outside!
Yusuke: Perhaps there's more to this universe than we originally thought....
Waluigi
Waluigi starts acting dramatic to losing before falling down into a black hole, that suddenly appears out of nowhere, on screen.
Futuba: Wha-Wha- WHAT!? How is even possible!? W-W-WHERE DID THAT BLACK HOLE EVEN CAME FROM!?
Morgana: (Shakes his Head Slowly) I don't even know anymore, Futuba....
Futuba: Damnit! (Looks Up Into the Ceiling in Anger) NONE OF THIS MAKES ANY SENSE!!!
Lavenza: There's a lot of things that doesn't make sense, Big Sister Futuba.
Bowser
Bowser angrily punches a camera on screen.
Ryuji: WOAH WOAH WOAH! What the hell was that all about!?
Ren: A evil, giant turtle getting mad over a simple game of golf....Kind of sounds a lot sadder when I say it out loud.
Ryuji: Right!? It's just a frickin' golf game! Why do they have get so hell-bent over it everytime they lose!?
Ren: I don't think anyone really knows at this point, man.
Bowser Jr.
Bowser Jr throwing his usual temper tantrum on screen.
Morgana: (Starts Sighing While Rolling his Eyes) Here comes another Bowser Jr's cuteness hour.....
Futuba: (Teasingly Pokes Morgan's Cheeks) Getting jealous there, Mona?~
Haru: (Immediately Pulls Morgana into a Loving Hug) Oh my sweet, little Mona-Chan!~ Please don't be jealous of Bowser Jr-kun anymore! I promise I love you with all of my heart!~ (Begins Kissing Morgana's Cheek)
Morgana: (Starts Getting Ticklish by Haru's Kisses) Haru! Come on! I believe you already! Really!
Lavenza: (Turns to Futuba) What exactly is happening here right now? Is Mona-Chan really jealous of this Bowser Jr character?
Futuba; (Simply Nodded) Oh big time. He thinks Haru thinks that the little guy is more cuter than he is.
Lavenza: ('Gasps') That is crazy talk....(Turns to Morgana) Mona-Chan!
Morgana: (Turns to Lavenza) Huh? What's wrong, Lavenza?
Lavenza: (Gently Grab Both of Mona's Paws) There us no need for you feel any jealousy towards Bowser Jr. While it is true that his overall appearance is cute to look at, you are and always will a precious feline in my very eyes!
Morgana: (Eyes Widened in Genuine Surprise While Blushing) Y-You.... really mean that, Lavenza?
Lavenza: Why, of course I do. (Joins into Morgana and Haru's Hug) I wouldn't be here, telling you this if I don't.
Haru: Lavvy-chan is absolutely right on this, sweetheart. You're a lot more precious than give yourself credit for. So please don't be jealous anymore, okay?
Morgana: (Sighs While Being Overwhelmed by the Group Hug) I'll try not to....(Smiles a Little) Thanks, you guys.
Futuba: (Smirk Softly at the Trio While Silently Taking a Few Pictures of Them ('Heh Heh') Dorks.
Rosalina
Rosalina faints....and accidentally fell down on the Lumas, who were trying to help her up, on screen.
'Thud'
Most People in the Living Room: Oh!
Yoshi: That has got to leave a mark.
Pit: I know. I kind of feel bad for those poor little Lumas....
Dark Pit: They're floating, magical stars with eyes, Pit-Stain. They'll be fine.
Birdo
Birdo angrily shoots eggs at the camera on screen.
Ann: (Really Glares at the Screen) Really?! What is with these people and breaking camera screens!? Do they honestly even know how much those things cost!!?
Shiho: (Simply Shrugs) I guess they really can't stand the fact they've lost a game golf.
Ann: Right!?
Toad
Two Toads tries to cheer up the main Toad by cheerleading on screen.
Ren: Huh. Cheerleading Toads.... That's a new one.
Makoto: It's cute how they try to do whatever they can to support each other.
Ren: I agree. It's also ironic how this is the most normal reaction of losing out of everyone else we've seen so far.
Makoto: ('Sigh') Yeah.....
Nabbit
Nabbit hides under a bag....only to get eaten by a Piranha Plant on screen.
Dark Pit: Alright. I'm about to lose it in a matter of seconds, if someone in this room don't tell me why in the hell does that dumbass thought that having a Piranha in his bag was even remotely a good idea!
Ren: ('Sigh') Yeah. I think we're done here.
..............................................................
Sonic: Sheesh....That was a lot more insane to watch through than I thought it would be.....
Yusuke: Not the most cringe worthy event I have ever seen so far, but it was still rather.... interesting to watch, to say the least.
Amy: I know..... I had no idea they would took golf so seriously...
Ryuji: You're telling me. I mean, really, I can't believe these guys were making a huge deal about losing one single game of golf! GOLF!! Probably one of the most boring sports in all of the frickin universe!!
Ren: Well, knowing Mario and the gang, I'm pretty sure they found a way to make the sport more fun to them.
Ryuji: That might be the true, but that doesn't make what we just saw, any better, bro!!
Ren: ('Sigh') Yeah. It.... really doesn't.
Futuba: (Found Something Interesting on his Phone) Huh.
Pit: What you found, Futuba?
Futuba: (Shows Everyone Beside her Phone) It says here that Mario and the others are hosting an all new golf tournament next month. It's called the "Mario Golf: Super Rush Tournament"
Yoshi: (Takes a Look at Futuba's Phone) Yep. Seems pretty legit to me.
Everyone: (Nodded in Agreement)
Makoto: They're going to embarrass themselves in that tournament, are they?
Ren: I'd be surprised if they didn't.
Makoto: You're gonna record the whole thing, are you?
Ren: (Chuckles Lightly) Oho yeah.....

Summer camp host club 6
Tw for blood, beartraps and hospitals,
Haruhi was asleep. Her dreams were filled with pictures of the monster Mr Hirano had described, beautiful and mysterious. She watched it prance about in the moonlight, it's behaviour wasn't dissimilar to that of a cat. She wanted to reach out and pet it, but she was afraid it would hurt her.
She then watched it switch between it's human and beast form, each time it enters it's human form, it's a different beautiful figure, genders changing every time, every single thing that Haruhi finds attractive. It was a selfish dream but she didn't mind it.
Her dream was cut short by one of the girls dragging her out of bed. "Come on Haruhi! You said you'd come to the lake with us!" The girl, Aimi, whined and tugged at Haruhi's arm.
Haruhi sighed and smiled at them, getting out of bed with a yawn. "Alright then, let me grab my bathing suit then." She got dressed quickly, before joining the girls outside the cabin.
It was quite early in the morning, the sun was only just peeking over the mountains in the distance. The air was crisp and cool, it wasn't cold however, just pleasantly warm. Haruhi walked with the other girls to the lake, watching from the grass as they took turns jumping in, laughing and joking as they did.
She was too tired to swim, so she just sat and watched them. One of the girls starts talking about how she's smuggled alcohol in her bags, and the girls begin to joke about having a party when the councilors are in bed. Haruhi thinks it's highly inappropriate but she knows better than to try and disrupt the fun of others, so she just sits there and begins to think about methods of ensuring they don't get hurt.
Breakfast rolled around and she and the other girls headed in from the lake, happy to find that pancakes had been made. Haruhi went to sit with the other hosts, minus Kyoya as the shadow king hadn't woken up quite yet. They looked at her swimsuit and it was Honey that brought it up. "Have you been swimming Haru-chan?"
Haruhi nodded. "Yeah, the other girls wanted to. I only really paddled though." She shrugs and pours some syrup on her pancake. "Did you guys sleep well? No nightmares about the story?"
It's an overall no from the hosts, but Honey starts talking about the dream he had where the maze was made of cake. Fortunately he is interrupted, unfortunately he's interrupted by a crash from the boy's cabin. The hosts look at each other in a panicked agreement, there's only one person still asleep; Kyoya.
They all hurry towards the cabin, a few others following suit. Haruhi is suddenly getting very anxious for some reason. When they got to the cabin, they saw a dent in the wall, and a very shell shocked looking Shin. A quick glance to Kyoya told Haruhi that he'd already gone back to sleep- good for him.
Mr Hirano pushed himself into the cabin, looking at the scene before him. "What the hell happened here? Shin, explain yourself." He glared at his brother, crossing his arms.
Shin looked at him with wide eyes, clearly still processing what had happened. "I- I only tried to wake him up?? So he wouldn't miss breakfast?" God, Haruhi almost felt sorry for the guy, he doesn't understand quite how Kyoya operates yet.
There was laughter, Tamaki was stood behind Haruhi and he was laughing. It didn't take long for the twins to chuckle a little too, but they were a bit more restrained in their mirth. People looked at him confused, Mr Hirano frowned deeply, raising an eyebrow. "What's so funny?"
Tamaki wiped nonexistent tears from his eyes. "Oh do forgive me, I just find it quite funny how stupid that decision was." He chuckles a little more at the confused look on both Hiranos. "Trying to wake Kyoya up, it's like-" he shakes with amusement, stifling his laughter. "I'm sorry, sorry. It's like having a deathwish! Isn't that right men?"
The hosts all nod, the twins piping up. "you should see what he's like if he only gets an hour!"
Mori nods silently, Honey jumps up happily. "Kyo-chan's downright homicidal when he's sleepy!"
Haruhi had to agree, shrugging and at least showing a little sympathy to Shin. "Sorry dude, they are right. Besides, you shouldn't have woken him up anyway- it's kind of rude."
Mr Hirano massaged his temples. "There will be no violence in my camp from now on, understood? I will let him off with a warning, make sure you let him know." The hosts nod and he turns to leave. Haruhi glanced at Shin and saw that he actually looked kind of guilty. She sighed and approached him.
"It's ok dude, literally everyone's done it at least once, he's not going to hold it against you." She smiles up at him, Shin smiles back, mouthing a silent thanks.
Tamaki meanwhile, has sat on Kyoya's bed, and is shaking him gently. "Kyoooyyyaaaa!"
"What?" The shadow king spoke, barely stirring.
"The councilor man said you're not allowed to respond violently when people wake you up."
"Then tell people not to wake me up. Now fuck off and let me sleep." Haruhi thought that was reasonable, and was all but ready to leave Kyoya in peace when Tamaki spoke again.
"But Kyoya! We're having pancakes, and I brought coffee cream." Haruhi wasn't sure what he meant by that, maybe the cream you put in coffee? But by the way the other hosts froze, the same way they did when anyone mentioned fancy tuna to her- she assumed it was like catnip for the demon lord.
And as if by some miracle, Kyoya sat up, looking at Tamaki in suspicion. "The good kind? With-"
"With commoners coffee, yes." Tamaki nodded, a small smirk appearing on his face.
"Ugh, fine, but I'm having the entire jar." He slowly got out of bed, going to grab some clothes.
Haruhi… was amazed, and by the looks of it, so was Shin. She silently followed Tamaki out of the cabin and back to where they were eating. "Are you sure he can have a whole jar?" The twins spoke in unison, sounding slightly concerned.
At this, Tamaki looked very smug, pulling out a very little jar. "I brought these because I knew he'd try and pull something like that." The hosts all look very impressed, they're even clapping. Haruhi has to admit that certainly is a smart way to out-maneuver Kyoya.
The contents of the jar is brown and thick, like a whipped cream texture. Honey must have noticed her looking at it in confusion, because he pipes up. "It's whipped cream! It's been mixed with coffee and now it's very strong and very creamy. Kyo-chan loves it!"
"He isn't allowed it, because he's supposed to be limiting the amount of caffeine he has-" Hikaru starts, letting Kaoru finish. "but it clearly hasn't worked."
Haruhi chuckled at that, the image of Kyoya being told he's not allowed coffee is very funny to her- she doesn't think she's even ever seen him drink anything else.
When Kyoya saw the tiny jar he was given, he was highly annoyed, but still happy to completely and utterly coat his pancakes in it.
Tamaki spent most of that morning doing little games and puzzles on his own, and the afternoon was spent with the twins. He was finally getting used to this little change of pace, it wasn't that hard in reality. The less introspection he did, the less things seemed to interest him, sure it was enjoyable, but nothing was so dramatically simulating. He was able to spend hours brainstorming themes like he could before, it seemed like his emotional conflict had finally reached it's finale.
Then there were the noises he'd heard when near the lake. He wasn't quite sure what they were, but when he got closer he realised what they were- whimpers and squeaks. But not from an animal. He could hear voices too.
"Hold still, don't move." That was Shin's voice.
"Fuck, shit, don't do that." Kyoya… Kyoya was the one in pain.
Tamaki sped up, approaching where they were. He froze when he saw the scene before him.
Kyoya was sitting on the floor, leaning against a tree and looking paler than normal. Shin was standing over him, shirtless and pressing his shirt to… some very deep looking gashes on Kyoya's right arm. At the sight of his best friend's blood, Tamaki felt his own boil. "What the hell are you doing?" His tone was entirely accusatory, and he didn't care to correct it, for all he knew, he was right.
"I didn't do anything!" Shin cried out, clearly very anxious. "He got his arm stuck in a bear trap! Go get help!!"
"No." Kyoya interrupted, clearly attempting to use his threatening voice, but it came off as more of his normal tone due to how weak he was. "Shin, you go." Tamaki couldn't help but feel a spark of pride at that, watching the confusion on Shin's face.
"What? But Kyo-"
"Go. Before I fucking bleed out."
Shin sighed and nodded, standing up and looking at Tamaki. "Keep pressure on the wound."
Tamaki nodded, rushing to Kyoya's side as Shin ran back towards the camp. He keeps pressing the shirt to the wound, trying not to hurt Kyoya. "What happened? Was he telling the truth? Was it a bear trap or…" he trailed off, not wanting to say what he was thinking.
Kyoya just sighed, it was heavy but laboured and made Tamaki's hairs stand on end. "He didn't do a thing Tamaki, he helped me out of it actually…" His words sent a jolt of guilt through Tamaki, but it was largely ignored in favour of worrying for Kyoya's safety. He worried deeply for his friend, and the blood made him feel dizzy.
He heard a quiet whimper, and looked at Kyoya in surprise, finally noticing the tears in his vice president's eyes. Wow… this must really hurt. Tamaki didn't think he'd *ever* seen Kyoya cry before. He shifted to an angle so he could cradle him, while still keeping pressure on the wound. He's surprised when Kyoya leans into the touch, just softly leaning his head on Tamaki's shoulder- the most affection Kyoya has ever shown. At least in a language Tamaki can understand.
"I'm going to need to go to the hospital with this." Kyoya spoke, so quiet Tamaki had to be deathly silent to hear him. "When I do, I want you to call Fiyumi, I know she gave you her number." This was true, she'd told him to call her in an emergency or to let her know if Kyoya was sad- because heaven knows Kyoya wouldn't tell anyone.
"I will." Tamaki softly promises, mind still focused on making sure Kyoya wasn't losing too much blood. So focused in fact, he barely noticed when other people arrived, the gasps helped alert him though- as did Shin pushing him out of the way in order to help Kyoya up.
Mr Hirano was here, along with a few of the other campers, the entire host club had followed them too, looking to be slightly out of breath. Mr Hirano took a look at Kyoya's arm and took a sharp breath in through his teeth. "A beartrap did this? God, you're lucky it didn't take your arm off completely, a little twig like yourself." He touched the wound and Tamaki watched Kyoya restrain from punching him in the face.
Mr Hirano sighed. "Adrien's called for help, we're going to have to get you to a hospital."
"Would you mind taking me to a good one?" Kyoya asked, even when experiencing blood loss, he was ever the demanding one. "Preferably one owned by my father and not a rival."
Oh, so that's why. Tamaki had almost forgotten how ruthless the world they lived in was- sending Kyoya to a hospital owned by a rival was likely a death sentence. Mr Hirano didn't seem to understand it, but who was he to argue? They got Kyoya into a first responder car, with EMTs who instantly got to work on bandaging his arm temporarily.
Most other campers left to go continue their activities, but Honey and Mori went to ask Mr Hirano if they could borrow his truck. The remaining hosts looked to Tamaki for answers, he knew that expression- they wanted to know what happened.
"Shin was telling the truth," Tamaki began, feeling a pit in his stomach, "it was a bear trap. Kyoya's lucky to still have an arm." His words felt like a weight crushing them all, looking at his comrades he saw the same pain and worry in their eyes that he was sure were also his own. "He asked me to call Fiyumi."
When she answered the phone, he could hear the repetitive hum of her sewing machine. "Hello Tamaki, is there anything you need?"
"..." He took a deep breath, it was just his arm, it could be worse. "Kyoya's in the hospital."
"What??" He could hear the worry flooding her voice as she switched the sewing machine off. "What happened??"
"Bear trap." Tamaki was struggling to get the words out, by now they were in the truck. Haruhi leaned in and gently took the phone from him.
"Hello Ms Fiyumi, you haven't met me but I'm Haruhi- Tamaki-senpai's a little too distraught for a phone call right now, hope you don't mind." Tamaki couldn't hear what Fiyumi was saying anymore, only what Haruhi was saying. "Well Kyoya-senpai got his hand stuck in a bear trap so he's had to go to hospital," she was so much better at this then he was, and Tamaki was infinitely grateful, "yes, we made sure it was an Ootori owned hospital. Kyoya himself specified." Haruhi was just quietly nodding now, Tamaki just silently played with his hands. "We're driving over there now, uh, I'm not sure what location but it's near the summer camp?" She went to Google the name of the camp on her own phone but paused, responding to someone Fiyumi said. "Oh you know the location? Great, so we'll meet you there?" Tamaki was just staring out the window now, chewing on his shirt collar. "Alright, thank you
Bye."
Haruhi ends the call and hands the phone back to Tamaki. "How are you feeling senpai?"
"I'm… I'm just worried about him, he's supposed to be having fun…"
Haruhi sighed and put a hand on his shoulder, Tamaki is so very grateful for her level head. "Well, all we can really do is make sure we're there for him and you really were- you're his best friend, his favourite person. Just make sure you're there when he needs you, that's really all you can do."
Tamaki paused, nodding and giving her a slight smile. She was right, Tamaki couldn't do anything to help Kyoya out, other than at least try and keep him happy. But what Haruhi had said, about him being Kyoya's favourite person… that surprised him, he supposed he'd never even considered the fact that Kyoya could have a favourite person, let alone that it could be him. But he supposed that explained why Kyoya would rather have Tamaki by his side while in pain then Shin- his best friend who he's known for almost two years, or a dude he met like, three days ago.
Even as they walked through the hospital corridors, Tamaki couldn't get those thoughts out of his mind… his favourite person… Kyoya's favourite person…
He was however snapped out of his thoughts when he saw Yoshio Ootori himself enter the corridor, stop, look at them, then nod curtly. "Souh, Souh's friends."
They all nod in response, bowing their heads a little lower and mumbling a greeting. Tamaki frowns sympathetically, he couldn't imagine how worried the man must be. "I'm guessing you were told?"
Yoshio nods. "I was alerted the moment my son's name came up in the call, luckily I was already at this location." He adjusts his lab coat, sighing. "Would you care to tell me how you allowed my son to put his hand in a bear trap?" They were walking now, Mr Ootori leading the hosts presumably to where Kyoya was.
Tamaki wasn't exactly sure how to answer that, the way Yoshio spoke made it feel like it was somehow his fault, even if Tamaki had been nowhere near. "We weren't with him sir, I'm sorry." He bowed his head, hoping that was satisfactory for him.
Yoshio stares at him with burning eyes, clearly Tamaki's answer wasn't acceptable. The twins spoke up, speaking in shakey unison. "Yeah, we were nowhere near, if anything, blame his boyfriend."
Every single person there froze, the twins when they realised what they'd just said and who they'd said it to, the other hosts the moment they heard the word leave the twins lips. Even Yoshio froze, but for a much different reason.
After what felt like forever, Yoshio Ootori adjusted his posture, fixed his glasses the same way Kyoya does when it's serious time- in such a way that the light hides his eyes, and crossed his arms.
"What did you just say?"

Kurt was only out for about 15 minutes but that was long enough for Tarren and Fin to get him to the back on one of the spare cots. The gaang besides Iroh and Jee stayed to see how things went down, all gathered in the room reading maps and planning their trip while Lily paced back and forth muttering to herself before she threw her hands in the air
"Why wouldnt he tell us!?" She shouted
"I dont know Lily" Tarren said while he dabbed a cold towel on Kurt's forhead
"I mean, he could see the scars the three of us share! Why... why wouldnt he say anything!?"
"I'm sure he had a good reason Lily, I mean, how did you guys even know you had a third soulmate?" Katara asked with a small tilt to her head.
The duo both placed their hands to their chests instinctively. "Well, we didn't always know, but one day we both collapsed in the middle of a shift,"
[Flashback when? Flashback now!]
"Of course Miss Jin, Grey with honey and two sugars at 3 pm sharp just like every other Friday" Lily smiled while handing the girl her cup of tea she made for her at the exact same time every single friday evening. Jin was a favorite.
"How are you and Tarren?" Jin asked with a smile which made Lily blush
"Hah. We're doing alr-" suddenly Lily lost her breath from a blunt pain in her chest. "Tarren" she wheeled out just before letting out a yelp and clutching her chest "Tarren!"
"Lily!" Tarren's voice called out from the other sid of the Library followed by the sound of scrolls falling to the ground
The two scrambled to eachother with Jin following Lily and Fin rushing out from the back with paperwork to see what was happening. The pair crashed into eachother and held onto the others arms "what happened?" Lily cried out "whats going on. It burns, oh Gods it burns Tarren"
"I- I dont know" Tarren when to unclip his uniform, shucking off the top shirt before ripping the underdress to reveal painful bubbling skin in the shape of a hand and spreading across his chest and up to his neck down past where he managed to rip down to.
"There's a third" Jin said with a gasp
"Whoever they are theyre in trouble" Fin said bluntly while turning to Jin "Jin do you mind running to get the medic? I have to stay with them and they can't move" he gestured to their shivering crying forms.
"Are they dying?" Lily managed to wheeze out between sobs of pain
"No, this isnt direct, its just an- oh right" he nearly forgot that Lily watched her parents killed in a similar way "Lily, trust me, the third in the trio is not dying, they're being hurt, but they aren't dying"
Lily nodded, the pain lasted for a good 20 minutes before slowly dying down and feeling like it was being treated on all ends.
[Flashback over]
Katara gave a small frown "I wonder what happened to him"
"Ill tell you if you help me sit up" Kurt said with a small cough. Sokka who had been sitting near him but was lost in a map with Zuko looked up
"Oh, the munchkin awakens!"
"The... what?" Kurt laughed out
"Ignore him, he's stupid sometimes" Katara said as she helped Kurt sit up and put a pillow behind his back. "How did you get burned if you dont mind me asking?
Kurt gave a sigh and looked to Sokka and Zuko "well, honestly its probably a similar story to mr princey over there"
Zuko tensed "how do you know who I am... and you don't know how I got this"
"I do" Aang said with his hand raised "well, kinda, I think it was your da- mphf!" Zuko shut Aang up with his hands on his mouth
"Shut up, now is not about me or how I got my scar, its about short stack over there"
"Shortstack!? Okay, now that was just rude. But I got this burn from my dad, he wasn't great and had no position to even justify his abuse against me and my mom." He brought his hand to his necklace with a small frown
"He caught me hanging out by a small pond with an earth boy named Haru and was convinced I was a traitor for doing so. He lectured be when he got me home by slamming me against the door and burning me"
he looked up to Tarren and Lily "I didn't tell you, and I always hid my scar because I'm scared hes going to find me again, after he left for the war my mom fell ill and died, so I ran away to my Pappy and he's sick right now so I don't know how long I have with his protection." He gave a sigh "I dont want him to find me and know that you two are my soulmates because he'll hurt you to get to me. And I cant let you get hurt..."
Lily put her hand on her chest with a frown "I'm sorry Kurt, I had no idea. But now that we know I hope you understand we won't let anyone hurt you or us."
"And that includes me" Fin said from the doorway "you've got two master earthbenders and a vigilante assassin on your side now"
"Woah, woah, vigilante assassin?" Toph piped up "Lily is an assassin!? That's so cool!" She marched right up to her and jabbed her finger in her direction "I dont know you too much but I do know that I like you!"
Lily flushed a bright red and rubbed the back of her neck awkwardly "hah, thanks? Wait are you a beifong?"
"Sure am!"
"I didnt know the beifongs had a daughter, let alone a daughter teaching the avatar earthbending" Lily said with a smile
"Yeah, well they didn't think I was strong enough because I cant read" Toph gave a shrug
"I could teach you sometime" Lily offered
"Im blind missy" Toph said with a cackle
"I know" Lily giggled "We have Braille books, I can teach you to read braille if you want to"
"Braille?"
"Instead of ink on the pages there are raised dots in patterns to make the letters, numbers and words, Fin and his wife managed to invent it ten years ago because Fin's best friend is blind and he wanted to send him letters, but it isn't too popular yet sadly"
Toph stood there for a moment before saying anything "wait... are you telling me there's a way I can read?"
"Yeah! Its more commonly on paper but Tarren and Fin use earthbending to write it out much faster on stone tablets, its much less wasteful. But for nonbenders like myself thats not really an option, so I write with the paper and the pressing tools."
Sokka piped into the conversation with a quick jump to his feet "can you teach me too? I want to know how to write in a way that she can read" he had a determined look on his face and sound in his voice that caught everyone off guard
"I... didnt realize you cared?" Katara said with a confused look
"Of course I care Katara! I probably care too much sometimes, I care about every single one of you," he looked around "did... did you really think I didnt care?"
Aang looked at Katara and then at Sokka "she probably only thought that because you show care differently than her, I know you care, I mean you've managed to keep us all together and solve our problems, youre a uh... solve it kinda care... if thats a type"
Everyone looked at Aang befote Lily gave a small laugh "you sound like Fin, he's really caring for sure but you have to understand him to notice his love language." Lily paused "but teaching you both will take a while, even just teaching Toph here, who I assume has never been taught anything about letters and words on pages. I'm guessing you lot are traveling to stop the war?"
"You bet!" Aang said with a cheeky grin
"Well you could easily travel with them and teach them all, you and Tarren both" Kurt suggested
"Im not going anywhere without you" Lily said whil jabbing a finger towards him and leaning down close to him "I promised to protect you, and I will"
"Then how about you all come with us! We can all learn braille! I mean I'm already teaching Aang waterbending, Toph is teaching Aang earthbending. And hopefully Zuko and Iroh will teach him firebending so a new writing language should be good for all of us!" Katara said with excitement clear in her voice
It only took a bit of convincing to have Kurt join but it took a good 20 minutes worth of convincing Fin to let Tarren and Lily travel around while Fin ran the library with the help of Jin who stepped up to take over the pairs roles in the library.
But before leaving Lily showed Sokka the braille pressing tools so he could get a quick idea of the way they worked before packing up a good amount of paper and tools so she could teach them. On the road. Tarren would help Toph with hers for stone given they're both earthbenders.
Once they started packing up their own belongings Toph walked into Lily's room with a small knock "hey, you almost ready petty steps?"
"Pretty steps? Uh, yeah I just have to find a good place to put this" she moved her hand a bit with a wooden mask facing up
"What is that?"
"Its my assassin mask, its got a white base, think warm wind. Two black marks, think of cold night ponds stretching from the side tips of her nose, above the brow bone and getting much thicker before going up and becoming two horns. The eye holes and the lips are both dark red, think of the warmth of a summer evening sunset."
Toph stood in the doorway "I didnt need the description but that kind of makes colors interesting"
"Really?"
"No"
The two laughed at the bluntness but then Lily shrugged "I guess your right, I didnt need to describe it, but I wanted to anyways" she held the mask for a second before packing it away "it's from my sisters favorite spirit fable. 'Lady of the sunset pond' she had my mama read it to us every night" Lily reached to her necklace and held the roght ash stone.
"Sounds like they hold a special place to you"
"Yeah, they do"
"What happened to them?" Toph asked while leaning against the wall
"We don't have the time to unwrap another story today" Lily gave a small laugh while she set her bag down "besides I need to change before we go, can't leave in a work uniform you know, not really meant for traveling" she moved towards Toph and gave a small bow "thank you for accepting to learn braille from me"
Toph smiled shortly but then punched Lily's arm earning a confused 'ow' to which she responded "thats how I show affection"
"Ah, thats an interesting way to show it" Lily laughed "now I best be getting changed, mind stepping out? I know you see with earthbending, I've seen Tarren train without sight before so I can recognize it"
Toph laughed and stepped out "whatever Pretty steps"
Once everyone was changed and packed they all let on loading up Appa and preparing to fly to the next place. The ragtag group of 4 traumatized kids was suddenly a ragtag group of 8 traumatized kids and 2 wise old men traveling on a flying bison with a small mischievous lemur. What a busy two days huh?

Even at ten o’clock, Gedonelune Town was still bustling. To be honest, as exciting as it was, it was also weird. In Reitz, most things closed around seven so no one was out later than that. For the city to be alive right now was different and exciting. Time didn’t stop anyone here!
“Let’s move along! We don’t want to get to the Academy too late.” My Acceptance Letter to my dream school, which was unfortunately animate and a jerk, popped out of my pocket.
“Let’s get some food first. I’m starving,” I told him. I tried to head towards a cafe, but he got in my face, forcing me to take a step back.
“No. You need to get to campus as soon as possible,” he said.
“I mean, it’s already night and I need to get used to being up late anyway since I’m in the Night Class,” I pointed out.
“Keep your voice down!” he shrieked, trying to cover my mouth with one of his corners. I quickly grabbed him and forced him away.
“You’re literally yelling,” I pointed out angrily.
“I’ve had enough of your attitude! I’ve guided many students to the Academy, but none of them have been as rude as you!” he scolded me.
“Excuse me?” Okay, NOW I was mad. “You rushed me out of my house at six in the morning, barely gave me time to pack and I only had time for one meal on the train. You’ve been belittling me through this whole trip. If I’m the rudest student you’ve ever had, it’s because I’m the only one speaking up.”
Maybe I was being rude. Maybe he was right. But I was running on too little sleep and after this long day, I wasn’t really feeling like going along with a letter that told me a couple hours ago that I was lucky to get in and that he wouldn’t be surprised if I flunked out.
“If you keep up this attitude, you’ll be sent home before you can even have your Judgment!”
“I’d rather that happen that refuse to stand up for myself!” I fired back.
“Well, if that’s how you’re going to be, then I’ll just be on my way!”
“Your way?”
“You can wait by yourself for Prefect Nox. And I hope by then you’ll realize you need to listen to others!” How dare he?! I’m fine behaving when the people around me behave too! I opened my mouth to give him a piece of my mind but in a puff of smoke, he stiffened and glided limply into my hands. The slight glow around his edges were gone.
“Mr. Letter?” I called out.
Silence.
“Well, okay then…” I rolled the letter up and stowed it away in my bag. Maybe it wasn’t the best thing I got into a fight with him, but he was so rude! I wondered if everyone at the Academy would be as terrible as he was. No… Surely no one will be as bad as him, right?
I sat down on a nearby bench and watched people pass me by. I had no idea what Prefect Nox looked like, so I just had to hope he’d find me somehow. The minutes crept together and the gnawing feeling in my stomach grew and grew. There weren’t any nearby food stands for me to grab something to eat. Sure, I could go somewhere, but I didn’t dare leave before Prefect Nox found me. We agreed to meet here and I needed to stay put.
My eyes glossed over as I stared off into space but suddenly, a Magic Note floated in front of my face.
“Huh?” I grabbed it and quickly unfolded it. The handwriting was kind of sloppy, to be honest. I could still read it, but clearly, this had been written in a hurry.
I’m sorry, but Rex and I can’t come get you. Something happened on campus and we have to focus on that. We will give you your orientation later. - Nox
“No way…” I murmured under my breath. So I was on my own. There was a bit of disappointment; I had really wanted to meet one of the prefects but apparently, that wasn’t in the cards.
At least I could go eat now.
I gathered up my things and wandered into town, looking for something that looked good. Places were already starting to close down, it was so late. That wasn’t good. I turned off the main road and found myself in front of what looked like a large warehouse. The sign outside said “Hidamari Market” and it looked festive, with golden lights hung up and the lights in the windows still on. Maybe they had some open food places?
The marketplace wasn’t lively, per se, but it wasn’t empty. A few people sat on benches placed in the walkways, but most people were in the stores. I turned into the first restaurant I saw. There was a very handsome blond man sitting with a dog-like familiar in the corner, notebooks in front of him alongside his food. A blonde girl around my age was behind the counter, counting something. She looked up and gave me a warm smile.
“Sit wherever you like! I’ll be with you in a moment,” she told me. I nodded and snagged a booth, appreciating the plush seats. That bench hadn’t been very comfortable.
I opened the menu, looking over the fare. It was a mix of Hinomotan and Gedonelunian food, the menu written in both languages. I liked that. But man, everything sounded so good that I had no idea what to get… As I stared at the menu, trying to decide on something, there were footsteps right beside me. Oh no, I’ll have to tell the waitress I’m not ready. But when I looked up, there wasn’t the waitress. It was a guy who looked about my age with piercing green-gray eyes and spiky hair the color of dark chocolate.
“Mind if I grab this seat?” he asked. I blinked and he didn’t wait for me to say anything. He just slid into the seat across from me.
“Uh, hi?” I replied. There were more footsteps and a waitress appeared, her face in that perpetual smile food service people had to always wear
“Hi there, welcome to Haru’s! Are you two ready?… Oh, it’s you!” A look of surprise came over her as she stared at the guy opposite me.
“You didn’t see me come in?” he asked. She gave him a tired look.
“No. I don’t keep an eye out for you. And what do you think you’re doing, dragging your poor partner on a date this late at night?!” she demanded, hands on her hips.
“Date?! Oh no, he just sat down here -” I said quickly, but the guy cut in.
“It’s not a date right now, but maybe in a few minutes it will be.”
I was going to commit murder in this restaurant tonight.
“Jeez,” the waitress rolled her eyes. “Well, should I get you the usual, Zett?”
“I’ll just have some water,” he replied.
“Okay. What will you have?” she asked, turning to look at me. She adopted that friendly smile again and if I didn’t already feel confused, I certainly did now.
“Um, can I have the cheeseburger and some water? And bills separate, please?” I asked. The waitress was clearly fighting back a laugh.
“Of course! I’ll get that right out for you. And I’ll tell Kevin you’re here, Zett. Haru already went home for the night,” she added, turning to him and dropping that smile.
“That’s fine. Thanks, Kristina,” he gave her a nod. She left us alone but came back moments later with our drinks. Zett didn’t look concerned at all, sipping away and leaning back in his seat like we were friends. Honestly, it kind of irritated me.
“What’s with the face?” he asked.
“Um… Aren’t you going to order anything?” I didn’t even know where to begin.
“No.”
“So you’re just… going to sit there… while I eat?”
“Yeah. Is that creepy?”
“I mean, yeah? You just came and asked if you could sit with me and then didn’t wait for me to answer,” I told him. He laughed.
“Well, it’d be rude to let someone as cute as you sit all alone.” He leaned in towards me, a charming smile on his lips and a devilish shine in his eyes.
“I’m not interested,” I shot him down. He immediately straightened up, that flirty look on his face melting away.
“All right, that’s fine.” He sounded nonchalant, but I needed to stay alert. He knew the waitress and I couldn’t count on her if something went wrong. You can’t talk like that to someone you don’t know well. Maybe the man across the aisle could help me? The market seemed pretty big, so I could probably find a good hiding spot if worse comes to worse.
“So, are you just using me as an excuse to sit here?” I inquired.
“No, I’m actually waiting for a package from the restaurant owner,” he told me.
“‘Package?’” He grinned
“It’s a secret.” He winked at me. Gods above, give me patience not to slap this weirdo.
“Hm. That sounds sketchy,” I commented. If I couldn’t hit him physically, I could at least get some verbal jabs in.
“Maybe that’s for the best,” he laughed. “I’ve got a bad boy image to preserve.”
“You can’t preserve what you don’t have,” I said. Zett choked on his water and burst into laughter.
“That’s rich coming from someone who looks like they call their boyfriend ‘daddy’ and would burst into tears when told their age regressing in public kink makes other people uncomfortable,” he replied.
“Excuse me?!” What is with people trying to get on my last nerve today?! I stared at him for a moment, trying to think of a good comeback. “You look like a pastor’s son who’s going through a punk phase to punish your dad for taking away your vape.” Zett howled with laughter, head thrown back and shoulders shaking. The waitress, Kristina, smiled softly as she approached us, placing my food in front of me.
“I’m happy to see you two are having fun. Zett, Kevin’s back in his office waiting for you,” she said.
“Thanks, Kristina.” Wiping tears from his eyes, he got up and gave me another grin. “I’ll be right back.” He left, following Kristina to the counter, chatting with her. I slumped back in my seat. But I barely had time to be alone. The blond sitting across from us walked over to me.
“Is Zett bothering you?” he asked, voice tense.
"Sort of?" I wasn't sure what vibe I got from him. He seemed like a devilish kind of guy, but did I feel threatened by him? Not exactly, but it was always safe be be cautious. "I don't know him and I wasn't too comfortable with him sitting with me all of a sudden." The blonde man’s shoulders slumped.
“I’m sorry I didn’t say anything sooner. I wasn’t sure if you two were a fighting couple or not. I can ask Kristina to get you a box so you can leave, if you want,” he offered. I thought about it. It’s true I needed to get to the Academy before it got too late. My food would be cold once I got there, though. But maybe that was the best option. I could reheat it, anyways.
“I’d really appreciate that, thank you,” I replied.
“Hey, Kristina? Can we get a box and their check?” he called out. Kristina poked her head from around a corner.
“Sure!” She quickly came over with a cardboard box and I quickly started filling it up. “Here’s your check, Mr. Hagakure.”
“Oh, I actually need theirs,” he replied, gesturing to me.
“Theirs is already paid,” she replied. “Zett covered it and the tip before he went to talk to Kevin. You’re good to go.” He… he paid for my food? That didn’t seem right...
“He did?”
“He did.” She gave me a wry smile. “You’re awfully lucky. He’s usually pretty stingy.”
“I’m stingy? Kristina, you’re killing me, here.” Out of nowhere, Zett returned, a large package tucked under his arm. Part of me wondered what was in it. He glanced at the table, looking at the box. “You’re heading out already?” he asked.
“Yeah, I got places to be.”
“Do you want an escort?”
“If they wanted one, they would have asked,” Mr. Hagakure cut in.
“Where are you heading?” Kristina asked.
“The Magic Academy.” Her face lit up.
“Oh, really? My brother goes there! I’d walk you over, but I still have a couple hours to work.”
“I’ve got some friends there. I could take you, if you want,” Zett offered.
“Oh, uh, it’s fine! I couldn’t possibly impose,” I said. “Mr. Hagakure said he’d given me directions, so it’s fine.” It sounded like it was going to be a long walk, but it wasn’t like I could get a hotel and go in the morning.
“Well, then. I’ll see you later,” Zett spoke up as I stood up.
"Later?" I wasn’t sure what else to say. I gave him an awkward wave and hurried down the path Mr. Hagakure told me to take. As I walked, I couldn’t help but think about Zett. He seemed so strange. Secretive, slightly annoying. There was something about him that I couldn’t quite place. While he didn’t feel that threatening to me, it felt like that could change in an instant. Perhaps I was overthinking things. After all, it was night and I was alone. Of course I’d be more on-guard than normal.
But still. I wondered if I’d see him again. Probably not, since I’d be cooped up in the Academy most of the time. At least he made my first night in Gedonelune memorable.
---
Somehow, I managed to get to campus and the Night Class dorms. The map that’d accompanied the packet I’d received along with the Acceptance Letter wasn’t great, but after wandering, luck was on my side and entered the dorms.
The building seemed so dark yet grand on the inside. A large staircase wrapped around an elevator shaft, dark wood gleaming in the light of several chandeliers. I can’t believe this is my dorm. It’s so extra. I took the stairs up to my floor. The hallways were lined with windows and stern stone statues. Honestly, even if it was fancy, there was a goth touch to everything. This place could seriously double as a haunted house during Halloween. Just throw up some cobwebs, splatter some fake blood everywhere, and it was good to go.
Suites were labeled with letters and lists of names. How many would be in my class? Who would be in my class? Would we all get along? I sure hoped so. I wouldn’t want to be in a class where no one got along. That’d be a special kind of hell.
Even though class was in session, most of the doors to the suites were wide open. At least I wouldn’t need keys for getting in. And finally, on the second floor, I found my suite, my name tacked on to the bottom of the plaque. That looked like the only bit of personalization in the suite. The doors weren’t decorated at all. I peeked my head through one of the open doors to find a plain kitchen with a girl sitting at the table. Her long, curly purple hair framed her beautiful face and when we locked eyes, she jumped a bit.
“Oh, sorry!” I spoke up. “I didn’t mean to scare you.”
“That’s fine… Uh…” She looked at me blankly.
“I’m the new transfer student,” I told her before properly introducing myself. Her cheeks flushed a bit as she got up to come shake my hand.
“Right, Nox told us you were coming. Sorry, I’m a bit sick and my head’s just not on right today,” she laughed. I made a mental note to wash my hands as soon as possible. “I’m Isabelle, I’m in the center room. Nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you too!”
“Are you going to be joining classes later tonight, or...?”
“No, I’m just moving in and then going to the Prefect’s office for orientation,” I told her.
“All right, well, I’ll leave you to it! If you need anything, I’ll be in here or my room.” She gave me another warm smile. I’m sure we’d become fast friends!
The doors were labeled with names so it wasn’t hard to figure out which one was mine. It was a smallish room. There was enough room for a bed, a dresser, a desk, and a chair. This would be my home for the next couple of days. Hopefully longer, but after all, I was just a provisional student. I still needed to pass my Trial first to become an official member of the student body. The next few days were going to be hard, I knew that, but I have to do my best.
I refuse to fail.

Legosi x Haru
All he could ever want
Legosi can't help but stare sometimes. It's a bad habit, especially with herbivores. It's safe to say he does this more often with Haru, his eyes are practically glued to her.
Today, as he's watching her talk about how her flowers have been doing, he notices her little sniffles between sentences. Two to three sniffs for each sentence. That's too much, isn't is? Is it allergies? Is she coming down with something? Is it rude to ask someone why they're sniffling so much? Well, he's sure she wouldn't mind. Right? It's worth a shot...
"Haru, are your allergies acting up?" Haru perks up at the sudden question.
"Huh? Oh, uh, probably. Lots of dust and pollen and stuff..."
"Are you sure? You aren't dizzy, or have a sore throat?" His tail smacks the ground a bit and he leans in closer. Haru crosses her arms on the small coffee table.
"Hmm, I guess my throat is a little itchy-"
"Are you getting sick?"
"Uhh I dunno, I can't really tell-"
"I know how to make miso soup at least! And I can go buy some medicine if you... if you want me to, that is!"
"Hey, hey, calm down! I'm fine. If it gets worse, I'll let you know, okay?"
Legosi shrinks back down a bit, and nods dismissively. Maybe that was a bit too much... It could just be the pollen, after all.
"Oh, yeah so! I think you could use a plant or two in here. Maybe some cacti... Or a fern? Or maybe you'd like some flowers? I know having plants around makes a house feel more like home."
"That sounds good!"
"Okay, I'll help you pick out something from my garden! Free of charge!"
The idea of having something to remind him of Haru when she's not around leaves Legosi excited for that day. He wonders what plant she'll pick for him...
His daydream of plants is interrupted, however, as Haru lets out a loud sneeze too big for her tiny body.
"Aaahhh... sorry! You got any tissues?"
"Here!!" Legosi hands her his handkerchief.
"You sure you're alright?"
"Phew! ... I think so. Look. If I get sick, I'll stop by and you can help me out, but I'm pretty sure its just allergies!"
"... Okay."
The next day, Legosi is anxiously waiting around. He can't help but worry about Haru. He hasn't heard from her yet. She could be right, that it was just allergies, but the wait is agonizing. Which is why he's practically flinging the door open when he hears the tiniest knock. He's greeted by Haru gazing up at him, a lazy smile on her face. He can't hide his excited tail at seeing her finally, it brushes against his legs.
"Hiii." She greets him with a small wave.
"How are you feeling?"
"Ahah... guess you were right. Its totally a cold. I'm all stuffed up. And man, is it hot! ...Agh this stinks!" She shakes her head in disappointment. "I could've just toughed it out, but, you know... You seemed like you wanted to help."
His tail droops as he really starts to notice the changes since yesterday. She's a bit unsteady, shifting her weight like she's trying to keep her balance under control. Her little sniffs are more persistent too. Snapping out of a worried haze, he holds the door open wider, moving aside.
"Uh, you can come in! Sorry, feel free to get comfortable..."
"Thanks." Haru drags her feet as she walks in and sits down at the table with a huff, her head resting in her hand. Legosi idles around the kitchen area.
"Have you eaten yet?"
"Not really, I don't have much of an appetite right now."
"Oh... do you want some water?"
"Yeah, sure." Legosi waves a bottle in her direction and she takes a swig gratefully. Her gaze drifts into a distant corner, not really focusing on anything, fidgeting with the bottle in her hand. She let's out a sigh. The floor creaks as Legosi sits down at her side, leaning in closely. He places the back of his hand on her head carefully, the touch surprises her a bit. She weakly shoves him away. "Hey, hey! I don't want you getting sick, don't get so close!" Legosi shrinks back a bit, still very concerned. "Ah, sorry... I usually just hide out in my room when I'm sick. Never really liked all the fuss... But you're just trying to help. I shouldn't push you away."
As if to apologize, she grabs his hand and puts it against her face firmly. "Your hands are so big! They can cover my whole face!" She laughs, her breath feels very warm. Legosi can't help but enjoy her touch. Once Haru let's go, she tucks her hands into her lap. "You should wash your hands..."
Legosi hurriedly washes his hands in the kitchen sink as Haru stands up, her legs wobble under the weight. "I should probably lie down for a bit..." On her way to the futon, she stumbles over her feet. Before she can hit the floor, she's swiftly caught by Legosi, her weight supported by both his arms. He sets her down on the futon gently. Haru smiles up at him. "Thanks, I just got a bit dizzy is all."
"I should really go get you some medicine. Uhhh though maybe I'll make some tea first? So you'll have something while I'm away... Do you want some tea, Haru?"
"I guess tea would be nice..."
Legosi fills an old kettle with water and prepares the tea hastily. Haru smiles as she watches him pace around anxiously. The sight reminds her of how worried her mother would get when she was sick as a child. She would always complain, but she was glad someone cared.
Legosi can't help but pace and busy himself. Caring for someone so small and delicate feels like a very important duty. Especially since its Haru! That makes it even more crucial that he does this right! She had to be comfortable, she needs to be warm, she needs to eat, to stay hydrated, and-
Legosi jumps at the kettle's screeching whistle. He hurriedly prepares the tea, burning himself a few times in the process, but succeeding nonetheless. He hears Haru laugh at his clumsiness, and appreciates that she even has the energy to. When the cup is finally ready, he carefully brings it over to Haru. She takes the cup and breaths in the aroma. Legosi is already halfway out the door and fumbling with his jacket.
"Uh, so, I'll be back soon!! Enjoy the tea, and make sure you rest while I'm gone! I'm going to go get some medicine!" He swiftly closes the door, and his footsteps fade as he rushes out. The silence doesn't last, however, as those same footsteps shuffle back to the door and hurriedly lock it, a muffled apology is heard from the other side as they stomp off again. Haru sips at her tea, smiling warmly. As she finishes the cup, she plops over on the futon, feeling the tension slowly leave her body.
It sure is nice to be taken care of. Of course she would rather avoid worrying others, but when its Legosi, it feels... okay. It truly feels as though he'd like nothing more than to care for her. And that feeling is better than anything. She knows how nice it is to take care of others. When a flower is wilting, she always gets it to perk up again. She hopes Legosi will let her worry about him more often. But that guy is just so oblivious to that stuff... If he were sick, she is sure she'd have to practically tie him down to make him stay. The image of him collapsing from working himself too hard always sends a shiver down her spine. Though that could just be the cold... She burrows under the blanket as the shivering starts to get more intense. Maybe when he gets back, he'll let her hug him close.
The creaking from the front door wakes Haru. She sits up and rubs her eyes. Legosi hobbles into the room, kicking the door closed. He's carrying way too many bags. He piles them all on the counter.
"Sorry for waking you... I ran into Louis, and he bought a few things for you. Some tissues, pudding... Vegetable juice... Some ice packs... Oh, and I got some medicine!"
"How's he doing?"
"He's fine, more concerned about you, apparently. But I'm not surprised..."
"Mm-hm..."
Legosi holds out an ice pack. "Ooh, yes please." She takes it and holds it against her cheek, lovingly. "Aaaaahhh thank god..." She plops back down on the futon, hugging the ice pack to her face.
"Before you go back to sleep, you should take some medicine... here." She takes the pills from his hand.
"'Kay..." she swallows the pills with a swig of tea. "Thanks, Legosi."
"You're welcome. I'm glad you came to me before it got any worse..." Haru smiles, tracing her fingers around the large cup in her hands. After putting a few things away, Legosi kneels down at Haru's side. He gently feels her forehead. They linger in heavy silence, until Haru smirks a bit. Still maintaining eye contact, she quickly pecks Legosi on the nose. He flinches on contact, freezing up. Haru can't help but laugh at his priceless expression. This big wolf suddenly looks like he could float away at any second, his tail standing straight up and eyes wider than usual. She watches his expression slowly shift to something more firm, and kind, and she leans into him as he bends down and embraces her in an overwhelmingly warm hug. Her arms clutch his shirt and he wraps his long arms around her form, strong, but gentle. A hug that describes Legosi, wholeheartedly.
"Haru... I love you..."
"Mmhh..." she softly hums, burrowing her head into his neck. They stay there for a long while, until Haru completely relaxes in his grip. Legosi leans back, and lies her back down on the futon. She curls into the pillow with a content sigh. Spotting the ice pack nearby, he places it by Haru. She instinctively grabs it and holds it close. She's just... so small. And cute. He contemplates taking a picture for a bit too long, but decides against it. He'll just commit the image to memory...
He wonders if he should try to make soup. Some miso soup and rice? That should be easy enough... And now that she's taken some medicine, maybe she'll feel better when she wakes up. Good enough to eat something. With a determined nod, he gets to work, grateful that he can do this for someone he cares so deeply about.
This is really all he could ever want.

They’re Both Stubborn and It’s Complicated
Title: They’re Both Stubborn and It’s Complicated
Author: OfSnakesandCentaurs
Rating: T
Pairing: Gokudera Hayato/Miura Haru
Prompt: Storm Day (Flameswap AU/Genderbend)
Summary: Miura Haru finds himself taking care of Gokudera Hayako after she got into a fight, and finding out the surprising reason behind it.
Tags/Warnings: Cursing, Genderbent
~~~~~
“Ow! Fuck! Watch it!” She hissed as the alcohol-soaked cotton ball touched her wound.
“Sorry! But it’s not Haru’s fault that Gokudera-san got hurt!”
She turned away, grumbling and cursing something in Italian under her breath. He fought the urge to sigh, wondering how they got in this situation in the first place.
If anyone had told Miura Haru that morning that he would end up treating the wounds of one Gokudera Hayako, he would have laughed at them and asked if they were completely and utterly insane.
After all, they couldn’t even stand the sight of each other, much less be in the same room or help each other with anything. On a daily basis, they were more likely to argue than to talk.
And yet here he was, disinfecting the wounds on her face and applying some bandages to her bruised hands.
His eyebrows pulled together as he saw more small bruises and cuts, and he remembered the state he found her in. What could have motivated her into foolishly starting a brawl with a bunch of guys?
Not that he was that surprised, considering her explosive and hot-headed nature.
“Can you stop staring at me?” Her voice snapped him out of his thoughts. “It’s creeping me out.”
“Hahi! Haru isn’t a creep!” He exclaimed.
“Then stop looking at me!” Hayako snarled before looking away with a huff. “I’m already having a bad day as it is. I don’t need a weird guy like you annoying me any further.”
Hearing her contempt tone, his blood couldn’t help but boil as his face began to grow hot in anger. “Hey, Haru’s trying to help you here!”
“It’s not like I asked for your help!”
“So what? You wanted Haru to leave you bleeding on the ground?! You shouldn’t have fought those boys in the first place then!!”
“I didn’t started it!”
“Oh really?” Haru scoffed. “Wouldn’t surprise Haru.”
“What’s that supposed to mean you jerk?!”
“Haru’s the jerk? Haru’s not the one cursing the person trying to patch them up with that foul-mouth!”
“It’s my damn mouth! I can do whatever the fuck I want with it!”
Haru felt like shrieking. “How are you this insufferable?!”
“None of your damn business, annoying bastard!”
“Stubborn mule!”
“Idiot!”
“Rude!”
“Weird cosplayer!”
Haru gasped. “Hahi, you take that back! Octopus-head!!”
“OI!! WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME?!!”
“OCTOPUS. HEAD!!”
“WEIRD. COSPLAYER!!”
“CAN YOU JUST LET HARU FINISH SO WE CAN BOTH BE ON OUR WAYS?!”
“FINE!”
“FINE!”
By the end of the shouting match, they were both breathing heavily and huffing as they scowled at each other. Haru clicked his tongue and went back to work, determined to get this done as soon as possible so he didn’t have to look at her face anymore.
It was unbearably silent in the infirmary, with Hayako’s occasional hiss and groans being the only sound. After things became quiet, Haru was able to calm down somewhat.
“Was it...” He started cautiously. “Because of Sawada-san?”
To his surprise, instead of exploding a second time, she turned away. “No.”
Suddenly, his blood turned cold for an unknown reason. “They didn’t...say anything insulting to you, did they?”
“You’re such a busybody.”
He frowned, feeling some of that anger surfacing again. “Haru didn’t even know why he cared. Gokudera-san clearly doesn’t want it.”
As he was putting the last bandage on the last wound, Hayako spoke up again. “They were saying stuff about you.”
“Huh?” He looked at her in astonishment, and...oh god was he hallucinating or was she actually blushing?
“I know you heard me!” She snapped before looking away. “Those boys were talking crap about you. About your love for fashion and making clothes and stuff. And yeah, some of your costumes are really weird, but that doesn’t mean they can crap on what you love doing. And what if you’re a guy? That shouldn’t matter!”
Yup, Haru was sure he must be dreaming. Because Gokudera Hayako was definitely, undoubtedly, blushing, and...oh dear, what was this fluttering feeling in his chest?
“Haru-” He swallowed. “Haru don’t know what to say. Thank you, you didn’t have to do that.”
“Ha, they were annoying me anyways. That was just more reason for me to beat them up.”
“No really, thanks for standing up for Haru.”
“Don’t get me wrong, I’m doing this for Juudaime too. It’s obvious that Juudaime cares about you, so that makes you part of the family. And family stands up for each other.”
Haru was speechless. He didn’t even know what he was feeling. Was it gratitude for knowing that she defended him?
“But you know, you shouldn’t get into a fight next time if that happens again.”
“And let them get away with it?” Hayako snorted. “Please.”
Haru couldn’t suppress the chuckle from leaving his mouth. “You’re really not cute at all.”
“I don’t need to be cute!” She said indignantly. “I just need to become stronger to become Juudaime’s right hand woman. Now can you please hurry up so we can leave?”
“Hai, hai.”
As Haru looked at Hayako’s still slightly flushed face once more, he couldn’t help but muse. Maybe she can be cute.
Maybe a little.
BEASTARS MINI-STORY #6: “Operation Butt In” by JCL
---
We are outside during the evening in a nice neighborhood. We see Legosi and Haru walking down the street, both of them wearing rather fashionable clothes (Legosi wearing a red and black varsity jacket and a pair of blue jeans, while Haru wears an orange Aliquippa-jacket and black chinos). It's a cold evening, so we can see their breath as they talk.
HARU: "... So he turned himself into a pickle. A pickle!"
Legosi looks like he does not get it.
LEGOSI: "I don't get it."
Haru smiles admittedly while holding her arms out in a confused pose.
HARU: "Me either, but apparently it's the funniest thing ever. Personally I think it was funnier when your teeth got stuck on your sandwich!" ---
We enter a flashback, depicting events from earlier that evening, where we see the two sitting at a table (Haru reaching up to it again by sitting on Legosi's backpack on top of her seat) in a bistro-styled restaurant,
Haru is eating a baked potato, while Legosi is eating an egg-baguette. We see that Legosi's dentures have come out and have become embedded on his half-eaten sandwich. While he looks at this with big eyes, Haru cannot help but to laugh out loud, with tears shooting out of her eyes and chunks of potato flying out her mouth.
Meanwhile, all the other visitors at the restaurant are giving them weird looks. ---
Back in the present, Haru can't help but to laugh again. Legosi on the other hand looks embarrassed.
LEGOSI: "I think I need to have them looked at again; they're not supposed to come out so easily."
He then rubs the back of his head and looks at Haru.
LEGOSI: "You know... It was a while ago since we had a proper dinner-date. It was nice."
Haru gives her boyfriend a teasing look.
HARU: "Well we didn't end up sitting in a bowl of yakisoba this time*... That's always something."
Legosi chuckle at this, recalling the incident that she is referring to. ---
We then skip ahead for just a little bit. The two have now arrived outside of Haru's parent's house and are currently walking up the driveway.
HARU: "Now are you going to talk to your boss about having time off during Golden Week?"
LEGOSI: "Most certainly. I've even booked up a meeting with him next week to talk about it."
Haru begins to walk up the stairs to the main door of her parent's house.
HARU: "Good. Though I don't get why you have to book a meeting. I mean it's an udon restaurant; he can't be that busy all the time!"
Legosi looks a little self-conscious about this, rubbing the back of his head.
LEGOSI: "You'd be surprised...!"
Haru stops at about five steps up, turns and gives him a smile.
HARU: "Well, this is my stop. I had a wonderful time."
The wolf replies with a smile of his own.
LEGOSI: "Me too."
Legosi leans down, using the railing of the staircase as support to get close to Haru. Haru stares at him with a puzzled expression. Noticing this, Legosi pulls his head back, looking uncertain all of a sudden.
LEGOSI: "Um... I was going to kiss you."
Haru gets a look of realization.
HARU: "Oh!"
She then closes her eyes and extends her head and lips, preparing for said smooching. Legosi however misses this and looks away, getting caught up in how he could not relay his signals just now.
LEGOSI: "Should I have told you beforehand? I mean, we've already kissed, and I figured it would be more romantic if it was kind of a an unspoken thing, where we both don't say anything and it just kind of happens like in a movie."
Haru opens her eyes and stares at him, her extended lips now hanging down loose like a balloon animal that has been relieved of its air. She is starting to look increasingly annoyed as he prattles on.
LEGOSI: "But I don't know, if I went in and surprised you, would it be rude? I mean that's kind of how you kissed me last time, but I didn't feel offended so know I'm little con-"
Suddenly she puts a finger on his nose, booping it. This more or less pauses him.
LEGOSI: "-fused."
Haru gives him a tired look.
HARU: "Good, so I found the mute-button. Now are you going to shut the fuck up and kiss me already?"
Legosi purses his lips and nods. Haru pulls her hand back. As she does this, Legosi begins to lean his head in. Haru extends her own head and closes her eyes. The two kiss, with Legosi looking at Haru's face with his eyes wide open. Their lips part. Haru blinks and looks confused.
HARU: "... Were your eyes closed?"
LEGOSI: "No."
Haru sighs.
HARU: "They're supposed to be closed. Lets try again."
They go in for another kiss, now with both having their eyes closed. This kiss is longer and a bit deeper, with Haru's hands on both sides of Legosi's head. As they part again, Legosi has a small blush on his face.
LEGOSI: "... What about now?"
Haru nods admittedly, a similar blush on her cheeks.
HARU: "Better, but I think you need more practice."
Legosi leans in again while licking his lips, displaying a rare case of boldness.
LEGOSI: "You're saying we should try again?"
HARU: "Well you can't dissapoint the teacher!"
The two go in for their third and deepest kiss yet. Haru's hands move down from his head and down his neck, while Legosi's large hand move in behind her head and then down her back. Haru gives of a muffled little moan, her little body writhing in Legosi's hands. Legosi's hand on her back tightens, her jacket wrinkling in his grip. His tail is wagging like mad.
HARU: (He could snap me like a twig, but still, I want him to hold me tighter!)
LEGOSI: (She tastes good... Too good)
HARU: (I am playing with fire...)
LEGOSI: (This is getting dangerous...)
BOTH: (BUT DAMNIT... IT FEELS GOOD!)
???: "Ehum."
The two break the kiss with a loud smacking sound and look around. Standing further down the walkway is Haru's dad, who is looking at them with a stiff expression. Legosi stands up straight and turns around to face him with a panicked look. Haru on the other hand look annoyed by her father's sudden appearance.
LEGOSI: "I was just... We were just... SAYING GOODNIGHT SIR!"
HARU'S DAD: "I noticed."
The older bunny points to the stairs.
HARU'S DAD: "You're blocking the way to the door though."
Legosi's head moves back and forth between Haru's dad and the door, realizing that he and Haru are blocking his path. He starts to nod and bow in a cartoonishly apologetic way.
LEGOSI: "Oh, so sorry!"
He then turns back to Haru.
LEGOSI: "I'll talk to you later Haru, and I'll tell you as soon as I've gotten confirmation from my boss, okay?"
Haru points at him and gives him a stern look.
HARU: "Okay, but if he says no, don't give up without a fight, okay? Just insist!"
Legosi turns and begins to walk away, looking over his shoulder and waving at Haru.
LEGOSI: "I'll do my best! Bye!"
Haru waves back.
HARU: "Bye."
Walking past Haru's dad, Legosi turns and gives him a curt bow and nervous smile.
LEGOSI: "And a good night to you too sir!"
Haru's dad nods in response.
HARU'S DAD: "Same to you, Legosi."
Legosi then proceeds to walk off in a hurry. As soon as he disappears out of sight, Haru turns to her father with her hands on her hips and gives him an angry glare.
HARU: "Dad, what were you doing out here?"
HARU'S DAD: "Just taking the trash out."
Haru hooks and eyebrow.
HARU: "At this hour?"
She then points at the trashcan, which as it turns is actually located right next to the staircase.
HARU: "... And all the way over there, when the trashcan is right here?"
Her father adjusts his glasses and avoids her look.
HARU'S DAD: "R-really? Then I wonder whose trashcan I've really been using all this time!"
Haru rolls her eyes.
HARU: "Oh come on...!"
Suddenly, the lid of the trashcan flips open and the head of Haru's older brother pops up.
HARU'S BROTHER: "I told you she wouldn't buy it dad."
Haru jumps back and looks shocked at the sudden appearance of her brother.
HARU: "Wha-"
Then the hatch of the mail slot on the door opens. The eyes of Haru's older sister stare out at this scene.
HARU'S SISTER: "You should have just stayed hidden like the rest of us!"
Haru looks even more shocked and angered by this and yells at door.
HARU: "What the hell are ya'll doing?!!"
A rustle can then be heard from some bushes nearby. Stepping out of them is Haru's mother, who is wearing a military-styled camouflage gear and holding a Canon Legria camcorder. Haru looks completely speechless.
HARU'S MOTHER: "We're your family dear, it's kind of our mission to butt in."
Haru checks out her mother, soon adopting and comical, incredulous expression.
HARU: "And what mission is that, OPERATION SNAKE EATER? Seriously, what is up with that get up? And is that a camera?! Mom, YOU DIDN'T!"
Haru's mother puts a hand on Haru's shoulder.
HARU'S MOM: "Baby, we couldn't help it, and besides, we did the same with your brother and sister."
Haru's brother steps out of the garbage can, wiping some dust off his clothes.
HARU'S BROTHER: "Yeah, now that you've finally brought a boyfriend home, it's your turn to feel the pain and humiliation...!"
Haru stares at her brother with her jaw dropped.
HARU: (And I thought they hadn't even even realized that Legosi was my boyfriend...!)
Haru's sister opens the door and walks out to join her family, turning to her mother with a curious look.
HARU'S SISTER: "I could hardly see anything from in here, did he give her a plain goodnight kiss or did he use his tongue?"
Haru gets an intensely red blush on her face.
HARU: "That's none of your beeswax!"
Haru's pulls the camera up and begins to rewind the footage with a cheerful look.
HARU'S MOM: "Don't worry, I'll just rewind the footage."
Haru turns to her mom with an even redder face.
HARU: "MOM!"
Her family begins to gather into a cluster and reviews the footage of the camera.
RECORDED-LEGOSI: "Should I have told you beforehand? I mean, we've already kissed, and I figured it would be more romantic if it was kind of a an unspoken thing, where we both don't say anything and it just kind of happens like in a movie."
Haru's mother puts her hand over his heart as she hears this.
HARU'S MOTHER: "Oh, he's such a sweet boy!"
HARU'S BROTHER: "Well he is polite, I have to give him that. In a similar situation I would've just gone right in."
HARU'S MOTHER: "That's probably why you're single dear."
HARU'S BROTHER: "Ouch."
Haru is grinding her teeth at her family's embarrassing behavior.
HARU: "Would you guys please stop...!"
Her family does not appear to hear her though.
HARU'S SISTER: "Booping his nose... That was just so cute that I had to cover my mouth in order to not go 'awww'."
HARU'S MOTHER: "They're really going at it now."
HARU'S SISTER: "... Hyup, that's definitely a frenchie."
HARU'S BROTHER: "Ugh, gross...!"
Haru begins to make a gurgling sound, like she's having a fit or something. Her father begins to pat her on her shoulder in a sympathetic way.
HARU'S DAD: "Okay, I think we've embarrassed poor Haru enough for tonight."
Haru breathes out, thinking that she has finally come out on the other side of this humiliating tunnel.
HARU'S DAD: "Not to be a prude, but maybe you could act a little more reserved on the porch next time? We have to consider the neighbors."
Her brother proceeds to put a hand on her head and ruffles her ears in a very big-brotherly sort of way.
HARU'S BROTHER: "You tell her dad! I mean it's the driveway, not the backseat of a Hummer!"
Haru's face looks like a thundercloud... Ready to spit lighting at any moment!
HARU: "...!" (Why can't I have a normal family?)
They all begin to walk into the house. As they do, Haru's sister turns to her with a curious look.
HARU'S SISTER: "Hey Haru, is it true that canines have tongues like sandpaper?"
Haru barks at at her with an annoyed look.
HARU: "NEVER YOU MIND THAT!"
Walking behind his youngest daughter, Haru's dad notices something: there are five noticable holes Haru's jacket, most likely cause by Legosi's claws. This makes him adopt a worried expression.
--- THE END... FOR NOW. ---
Heartbreak Red’s Takeover
Tumblr media
It’s April 1st, so you know what that means - it’s April Fools’ Day!
Because it’s Uduki Arata’s Hearbreak Red’s month, he’s taken over the Tsukiuta Twitter (@tsukiuta1) and Tsukino Productions website as you’ve probably already seen. I’ll translate some select Heartbreak Red tweets from the throughout the day and put them on this post under the cut. This post will be continually updated throughout the day, so check back at the end of the day to see all of them!
☆Today Begins April☆
Haru: “I would like to give formal thanks to the month of March. Until next year♪”
Arata: “Thanks for your hard work, Haru-san!  Don’t worry! I’ll definitely make April an exciting month just like you did!”
Haru: “Ahh, good. I can feel your enthusiasm from those sunglasses and that red scarf.”
Arata: “Yep!”
#Please treat us well, April
Arata: “Now then, it’s time to hand it over to a hero.”
☆It’s April 1st! Everyone Gather ‘Round! It’s a Heartbreak Red Fest☆
Red: “Hey, everyone! It was pretty hard to make updates everywhere with just one person! [referring to the site takeovers] I worked extremely suddenly! So guys, will you join me~ ?”
Red: “Your heart will beat...” [This is part of his catchphrase but doesn’t sound good translated literally lol. The full phrase is “ハートがキュンと来て... ドッコイショ!” (HAATO ga kyun to kite... dokkisho!)
[T/N: In this tweet, he’s supposed to be reading through some requests/mail sent in. As part of the April Fools’ Day campaign, people could actually tweet things to Heartbreak Red, and he’d reply to some of them.]
Red: “There’s ‘heartbreak’ stuff in here. Well, any subject is fine. ‘Go call on Aoi-kun~’ is in Requests (I’ll go catch him when he comes back to the dorms). ‘Anxiety from becoming an official adult in April’ warrants some more serious advice so I’ll throw away my carefree-ness for that one. The carefree-ness will make a return though.”
☆It’s noon! Let’s have some fun!☆
Red: Is everyone enjoying April Fools’ Day~? I admire, and also laugh at, the official staff’s common sense once it became time for their lunch break. Now’s my time to shine! I’m Heartbreak Red. So with this first greeting, let’s try and continue energetically!“
Red: "Your heart will beat…” [everyone’s supposed to respond with ‘ドッコイショ!’/'ba-dump!’]
[The tweets below are some of the requests/messages/etc. that were submitted along with Heartbreak Red’s replies. I’m mainly translating the funny ones since they’re more interesting ^^ ]
[REQUEST]: I want to see a drawing of Hajime-san by Heartbreak Red.
Red: Bam:
Tumblr media
[ADVICE]: Red!!! My boyfriend is incapable!!! What should I do to make him more exciting??
Red: "How about me instead!!!”
[REQUEST]: Please call Chisa-chan over
Red: “CHISA-CHI---------------!!!”
Chisa: “I’ve arrived from your call, ta-daaaaa! ‘Your heart will beat - ba-dump-----!!!’ Bye now!!!!!”
Red: “That great energy she gives off is the best!!!!!”
[ADVICE]: My room is really disorganized. How can I make it pretty (´;ω;`)?
Red: “Take a picture of it with your phone, and look at it and say ‘Wow... it’s better in my imagingation... possibly...’ is what I would recommend (speaking from experience).”
[OTHER]: Arata-kun, how are your nose and throat? [because it’s allergy season]
Red: I’m not Arata, but in regards to hay fever, I seem to be fine for the time being.”
[REQUEST]: Pick a fight with You-kun ◝(●˙꒳˙●)◜
Red: “Hey Cure Curry---!!!!” [reference to Precure, see Tsukiuta’s other prank this year where they turned some characters into magical girls]
You: “Who’re you calling ‘Cure Curry’!! I’ll force-feed you curry!! *angry*”
Red: “He’s a tsundere.”
[later on, he quote-RTed this with a correction]:
Red: “Sorry, sorry, it’s Pure Curry [not Cure Curry].”
You: “Either way, I’m neither of them.”
Red: “Well I’m not Arata either, you know?”
You: “Don’t group me with you *angry*”
[ADVICE]: I’m starting a new chapter in my life, but I’m always bad at self-introductions. Please tell me if there’s something I can do to have a good grasp of it!!
Red: “Try the standard ‘syllabary composition*!’ So for me, it would be ‘shi’: I’m a happy [shiawase] person... ‘tsu’: I have an indifferent [tsurenai] attitude... ‘re’: I cook things using the microwave [renji]... ‘n’: nnn~hmmm and I’m a genial person.”
*[T/N: take a sound/syllable in JP and come up with a word that starts with that sound to describe yourself (in English, it’d be like coming up with a word for each letter of the alphabet). Heartbreak Red kind of cheated on his last one - the ‘n’ sound lol]
[MESSAGE]: Heartbreak Red!! I love youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!
Red: “Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuu I love you tooooooooooooooooooooo!!!”
[REQUEST]: Please give me a supportive message to help me save money in order to move to a different residence 🙋
Red: “With this 10,000 yen, your next place will be 10m^2 in area.. *saying it like an incantation*”
[REQUEST]: Call Koi-kun over~
Red: “Ay, Pink.”
Koi: “So rude~~~~!!! Could you call for me in a nicer way!!!??? I’m on stand-by!!!
Koi: “I’m everyone’s hardworking cheerleader: Kisaragi Koi! Call me Koi-kuuuuun!”
Red: “Alright, thanks. Everyone, send him off with your loudest applause.”
[ADVICE]: I’m nervous and I don’t want to go to tomorrow’s company welcome ceremony and orientation. What should I do?
Red: “I understand, I totally understand. But you should go because there’s bound to be a lot of unexpected, surprising things anyways! During difficult times, just remember me because I’m cheering for you a whole lot. Keep fighting ☆
[REQUEST]: I love Kai-kun! I become a working adult tomorrow, so could he say a few words for me? ♡
Red: “Kai-sannn!”
Kai: “Congrats on becoming a full-fledged adult! I hope you find joy in your work and that it’s something worth pursuing. I think it’s bad to dwell on just the mistakes made in life, so make sure to take a breather without working too hard during the tough times!
[REQUEST]: Dear Heartbreak Red, I want you to call on Issei and Ichiru from QUELL! I want to hear the twins’ thoughts on “unrequited love!”
Red: “Pure Hokkaido guys~~!”
Ichiru: “That’s not us!!”
Red: “Yeah, yeah. This is random, but what do you think of unrequited love?”
Issei: “Erm... Love, umm... *shy* Ichiru, what do you think?”
Ichiru: “Ehhhhh!? Um, I-!!!?? I-I still don’t.... know about stuff like love that well...”
Issei: “Me neither... I think it would be nice to experience something like unrequited love, that’s the kind of love I want to try.”
Ichiru: “Same.”
Red: “A priceless answer. Thanks, guys.”
[T/N: all of the “love” talked about here, including the “love” in unrequited love is “koi,” not “ai”]
[REQUEST]: Heartbreak Red~!!!! Call Kakerun over~~!!!!!
Red: “Kakerun - I’ll give you ice cream if you come over here.”
Kakeru: “Good evening~!! How’s everyone doing~? I’m in good spirits since I got to eat ice cream. Tomorrow is a new you! I’ll take on Angra**, so let’s keep smiling!”
**written as アンラ, I’m assuming this refers to Angra Mainyu which is a boss from Final Fantasy X-2
[OTHER] I want to know what everyone’s favorite kanji is ( *´꒳`* )
Red: “Strawberry” (苺) [of course lol]
Kakeru: “Gold” (金) [also obvious]
Red: “Oh, this has a once-in-a-lifetime meaning!!!”
Kakeru: “Ah, it matches our image color meanings too!!!!”
Koi: “You guys do know the whole business is based on our images, right? Have you been paying attention at all?”
[REQUEST]: Heartbreak Red, as well as whoever’s near you: tell us the color of your underwear!
Red: “You guys like underwear, huh. Mine are the red of victory... Well that’s what I pretend the plain grey is.”
Kakeru: “Dang, what bad timing! Mine are gold! That was a lie! Uhh~ they’re black!”
Koi: “Such a question at a time like this........Mine are red.”
[T/N: Koi’s first sentence was actually the same as Kakeru’s but idk if I got the nuanced meaning correct in Kakeru’s part so I didn’t want to copy the same thing]
[REQUEST]: What kind of lie did Rui-kun tell today on April Fools’ Day?? Please tell us!!!
Red: “Rui-rui~”
Rui: “Were you referring to Minaduki Rui (水無月涙)? I’m actually Minaduki Rui (水無月類). There’s a lot of Minaduki’s around...”
Red: “That joke’s hard to understand based on sound alone, Rui-rui.”
[T/N: Rui just changed the kanji in his first name from 涙 to 類, but both have the same pronunciation so you can’t tell unless you see it written lmao]
[REQUEST]: Please summon Heartbreak Purple and Heartbreak Green!!
Red: “Please heed my request!!! Mainly Green!!”
Green: “I dragged Purple with me ♪”
Purple: “...”
Red: “With that really reluctant face, it must be the right time to do that mean prank I was talking about earlier.”
Purple: *clench*
Green: “If you have something to say, just say it. Come on, Purple!”
Red: “Yeah come on, Purple.”
Purple: “This all started from that one magazine’s survey results, and the fact that this ‘unrequited love army’ has continued to exist worries me.”
Red & Green: “Sounds fair.”
[REQUEST]: No matter what Heartbreak Purple is doing right now, call him over and say your catchphrase together!!
Red: “Yessir!”
Green: “Yessir!”
Purple: “I learned that hesitance gives way to shame, so I’ll say the catchphase.”
Red: “All right! Lol”
Green: “Ok! Lol”
Purple: “Your heart will bea.... You guys, quit laughing *angry*. Will beat.... Ba-dump.”
[REQUEST]: Please call on Yoru-kun! I start work at a new place tomorrow, and my anxiety is unbearable - please say some encouraging words!
Red: “There’s a lot of serious concerns about the anxiety of starting a new chapter in life on April 1st, aren’t there...! Yoruru~n!”
Yoru: “Y-yes! Don’t push yourself too hard, eat properly, rest properly... Keep fighting!”
[This one wasn’t particularly interesting, but I’m a big softie for the yellow softie, Yoru lol]
[REQUEST]: Make a quick one-liner jab at Sakuraba Ryota with all your strength!
Red: “Sakurabaaaan!!!” (he did some “bam” pose) [like something triumphant]
Ryota: “... (expecting something)”
Red: “That dead-cold glare of yours... I could get used to it.”
Ryota: “Please dont.”
[I’m also a big softie for the pink tsun, Ryota. Thanks @syphiria for correcting me on this translation and also noticing all my late-night typos!!]
[REQUEST]: Spread some love to everyone!
Red: “Thanks for all your messages, everyone---!!! It’s almost time for me to go, but it’ll be great if we could meat again next year! When you’re not feeling well, just remember: I’m here, so cheer up~”
Anddd that’s all! These are actually the majority of the tweets since I skipped the more serious ones. The life advice Red gave was mostly the same for those anyways. There were a lot of requests to interact with other characters, but I loved all the cameos haha.
Airborne
Summary: Spirit makes an apperance at the school yet again to see Ashley and check on Maka’s progress with her. But like he always does, he starts a scene the second he decides that it’s a good idea to flirt it up with his friend. Who is in a relationship.
W: self-insert x canon, fluff (near the end), humor
((Note: This idea came about with a conversation with my good friend @shinsen-haruki and this is both our ideas combined but she really came up with the meat of this with me and I just love it so much. I died and it needs to be written and made a thing. Also it reference’s Haru’s insert which is my weapon! Might have some more fics with Spirit, this one is just for fun.))
My hand pressed against my mouth as I let out a soft and quiet yawn. With a cup of coffee in my hands, I made my way towards my classroom and reading myself for the day. In a few minutes, the hall will be busy with students moving to their next class, and I wanted to make it in time. My class wasn’t starting for another hour, but I had papers that I hadn’t gotten to yet. I had a late night last night and ended up falling asleep with them halfway finished. Granted, I wasn’t sure how much good it was going to do now.
I tried to freshen up my mood, though it was quite difficult after I woke up alone. After staying at Stein’s for so long, the one night that I had to stay at my own place I felt lonely. It’s hard sleeping alone when you get used to sleeping beside someone. Well, somewhat.
Just as I was moving down the hall, I heard a voice calling my name from behind me. I turned around, giving a slight smile as best as I could manage to the redhead that tried to catch up with me. “Ashley! Good morning, how’re you?” Spirit asked with a spring to his step that made me want to laugh. It wasn’t unusual for him to be eccentric, but I wondered what was causing his good mood.
“Morning, Spirit. I’m okay. Had a late night.”
“Ah, really? That’s too bad. I hope you’re not working yourself too hard now. You don’t want to get dark circles under those pretty blues!”
I rolled my eyes, but laughed at his compliment anyway. I’d grown used to the comments, and most of the time I don’t even pay attention. This could be really deadly for either of us, but mainly just Spirit. I was too tired to even notice what was going on, which made it an even deadlier situation.
He stepped beside me, shoving his hands into his pockets and grinning widely. It helped my mood to see him so happy, and I felt myself cheering up at least a little bit. One of the good things that I like about being friends with Spirit. Sure, he can sometimes be a bit too much, but his heart can be in the right place.
“I don’t mean to be rude, but… is there a reason your here today?” I asked, inching closer and closer at a slower pace to my room.
The man shook his head for a moment, and then snapped his fingers as if he had forgotten.
“Actually, I was wondering how my little girl is doing! I heard that she’s been seeing you a lot lately after class!”
“And where did you hear that from?” I asked.
“Oh, y’know… around…”
I narrowed my eyes, seeing the sweat forming on his forehead.
“Right…” I rolled my eyes, knowing well enough that wasn’t the case, “You know that I don’t disclose too much information, Spirit. Maka trusts me, and I can’t break that trust. I can tell you, though, that she is doing very well in class. As usual, her grades are superb!”
I knew that Spirit was spying on her and listening to the chatter as much as possible. I understood that he was just trying to care, and I enjoyed that he was. It was one of the things that I kept close, and once Maka was ready to talk about it then she can open herself up to it. But she wasn’t there yet. And he needed to understand boundaries and letting her move at her own pace. She felt hurt and all kinds of emotions that were causing her to feel overwhelmed at times.
None of this was mine to share, and he knew that.
“Right, of course. I’m glad that she has you as her teacher! Honestly, I’m a little jealous she’s been seeing so much of you,” He raised his eyebrow in a familiar flirtatious way that I was familiar with being his friend, “We haven’t spent time together in a while.”
I cut my eyes, glancing down the hallway and feeling slightly uncomfortable by the shift in conversation. It was something that I should’ve seen coming. It’s just what he does, and I tried to accept that. Even though we’ve established a very thick line between us as friends, he’s still the flirt that he always is. He never seems to get it, no matter how many times I tell him. But sometimes he doesn’t even realize he’s doing it. Other times, he really thinks that he can shift my attention.
“I know, I know. But that really isn’t my fault. I’ve been busy with work, and Stein and I have been-”
“You two are really getting serious, aren’t yah? I have to say I’m surprised that anyone could get romantically involved with that creep, let alone…” He shudders a bit, obviously thinking of things he shouldn’t.
I narrowed my eyes, folding my arms across my chest and taking a long sip of my coffee. I needed to be more awake for this conversation.
“Yeah, well… I’m kinda in love with him, so… get used to it… maybe…”
“I still say that he doesn’t deserve someone as lovely as you. You and I totally have a lot more chemistry, don't you feel it, Ashley?”
I opened my mouth to speak, feeling my face flush with embarrassment as he was talking a bit too loud. Swallowing hard, I shifted my feet and got quiet just in time for me to hear a soft sound from behind us. Spirit’s own eyes widened, and he stopped his theatrics of bending down on his knee when he heard it to. The soft sound of clicking. Not just any clicking. The familiar sound of a screw being turned.
Click, click, click, click.
My bones grew cold, and I watched Spirit slowly stand up and glance behind me.
“Please, Spirit, continue what you were saying. I was quite interested to hear this.”
Stein’s voice spoke up, his eyes hidden behind the glare of his glasses. I could barely look at him, one because he was so much taller to me in the flats I wore, but also he was terrifying. It didn’t take a lot of glancing to know that he was giving Spirit a look of death. The curl of his lips frightened me the most, the redhead beside me immediately trying to plead his case.
“Uh, h-hey Stein, uh…” His voice trailed off, and he held up his hands in defense, “It’s not what it looks like I swe- AAHH!!”
My eyes widened, the scene going by too fast for me to keep up. One second I heard Spirit pleading for his life, then the next I see him being launched across the room at an unfathomable speed. As he did so, the dismissal bell had rang and all the students had already started piling out of the classrooms. Stein slowly lowered his knee leg that he had used to kick the man into the wall, adjusting his glasses on his face and grinning wickedly.
All I could hear was the loud groans of the man that was literally half inside the wall at the end of the hallway. It took less than a blink for that to happen, and now I was contemplating whether I should make sure he was okay. But from the look on Stein’s face, I knew that would be a very bad idea. The students were trying to figure out what exactly was going on, half staring at him with confusion and another half just walking on as worse has happened before.
“Stein, do you really think that was-”
“Necessary? Do you think that I was too soft on him? I could go back and kick him some more.”
“No, please… don’t do that…”
Stein nodded, pulling out a cigarette to light it between his lips. He breathed in a quick puff, obviously very pleased with himself.
Glancing back over at Spirit, he was still stuck inside the wall, but now Mai was rushing over to see if he was alright. And right beside her was Maka who was palming her face in frustration for her father. She didn’t even have to look at the scene for long to know that he obviously upset someone. I wanted to explain, but Stein’s heavy gaze was keeping my feet planted firmly on the ground.
Stepping towards my classroom, I avoided everyone’s eyes as Stein held my door open for me. His eyes quickly cut to Spirit who was now pulled out of the wall and somewhat still conscious. The glare that he gave him was bone chilling. I honestly was happy that I never had been victim to that gaze. It tells a lot with it just being a glance of the eyes. It’s frightening when you know just what Stein is capable of.
He shut the door, turning to me as I sat down my papers on the desk. Shifting closer to me, he pushed a few strands of hair behind my ear and caused me to shudder a bit.
“Please, don’t say anything…” I mumbled, “I know that… he got out of line and was highly inappropriate, but he’s still my friend.”
“You couldn’t be friends with someone who isn’t Spirit.”
“Are you threatened by him?” I teased, a smirk playing on my lips.
“I am many things, but threatened of Spirit is not one of them. He’s just annoying… I just had to teach him some manners, that’s all.”
I laughed, rolling my eyes.
“Yeah, and break a few bones while we’re at it.”
“Oh, we could only be so lucky.”
Stein grinned, leaning against the desk and giving us a little bit more closeness in distance to one another. He pressed his palm to my cheek, thumb sliding across the bone like he usually does. His hands were cold, as they always were. But that didn’t make me shift away at all.
Turning my face a bit, I felt my cheeks burning brightly and almost forgetting about the whole scene back there. Well, I hadn’t forgotten. Even though I knew all the shit I’d hear from Mai and Spirit later about this, I honestly found it endearing in a weird way that Stein would go to these lengths when it comes to other men flirting with me.
“Next time, I won’t be so generous with him. You know that, right?” He said, looking pretty serious.
“I know, I’ll talk to him… again… I’m definitely not worth dying for.”
I laughed, even though I knew that Stein wouldn’t go that far. Not unless he did something super drastic like hurt me in some way. But Spirit wouldn’t do that. He genuinely, even though he can cross the line, cares about my well being. When I first started dating Stein he was genuinely worried, which I keep trying to stress to him that I’m fine. I’m used to the reaction by now, and I know this man better than I did in the past. I know that he wouldn’t hurt me, and I know that I can trust him with my life.
Stein laughed as well, resting his forehead against mine in a way that made my heart thump. It felt like our souls were melting as one in this moment, and it just made me feel even closer to him. I always enjoyed these moments the most. Sometimes they get to be too much that my eyes water, but I’m completely content.
“I wouldn’t be so sure about that,” He said, softly that I almost asked him to repeat what he meant.
But I didn’t.
Haru
what's your ideal vacation spot if you could vacation?
I dont know a lot about the world here but I could look it uo
Mr. Jun Moon
i would go back home to boseong-gun
Haru
is it nice there
Mr. Jun Moon
it is quiet and boring actually
but very beautiful
Haru
my favorite place back home was the rose garden
it was very big and no one ever really went there so I would sit on a stone and just watch the wind play with the flowers. It was peaceful. I think that's the one thing I actually miss
Mr. Jun Moon
well that does sound nice
there are beautiful places in enchantra like that. maybe that would help
Haru
you think so?
Mr. Jun Moon
no idea but there is a glen there with flowers
who knows
just an idea
Haru
I might do that
maybe you should take walks
Mr. Jun Moon
i have no time for walks
besides i am not homesick
Haru
you seem like a guy who would like walks
Mr. Jun Moon
i live at home lol
no i would not
Haru
okay but you're stressed out
Mr. Jun Moon
and what would a walk do? i have my methods of relaxing
Haru
like what
Mr. Jun Moon
i play games
Haru
oh like Mario kart tae showed me that
it looks hard
Mr. Jun Moon
maybe at first but then you practice and it is very straight forward
an easy game really
Haru
can you teach me to play?
Mr. Jun Moon
ehh...
its not that ... i think you should have tae or the girls teach you
Haru
why?
Mr. Jun Moon
eomma wouldnt like me teaching you
she doesnt like me playing them that much anyway but if you do it with tae or the girls then thats fine
like family bonding or something
Haru
okay
maybe ill get really good and then beat you
Mr. Jun Moon
very unlikely
Haru
a cat can dream!
Mr. Jun Moon
hah well she certainly can
Haru
im gonna start reading game techniques now while I listen to those songs! Goodnight jun!
Mr. Jun Moon
alright then. good night haru
Note
I would adore for you to write another fic where Sousuke is super sick! (and maybe for a little twist, Haru is the caketaker)
Just a little warning I added fainting but it’s really fluffy
Hope you enjoy!
.
“Rin? I brought the stuff you asked for.” Haru knocked on the door to Rin and Sousuke’s room and Rin opened it.
“Haru! Thanks so much for coming.” He sounded grateful.
Haru raised an eyebrow. “Rin… I thought you were sick? Why did you have me get all this stuff?” He held up a bag of things that Rin had asked him to get. It included various medicines, a cold pack, popsicles, and Gatorade.
“Huh?” Rin was confused. “Oh! No, it’s not me whose sick, it’s Sou.”
“Oh…” Haru peered inside the room but Sousuke was nowhere in sight.
“Come in, please.” Rin practically pushed Haru inside and shut the door. “So listen, I’ll be back by 4:30 okay? Thanks again for doing this.”
Haru was so surprised he didn’t even have time to process what was happening. “Doing what?”
“Watching Sousuke?” Rin thought it was obvious.
“Huh?” Haru was lost for words.
“Coach asked me to fill in for him today and I promised him I would. There’s no one else who can cover for me so I need you to keep an eye on Sousuke for me.” Rin explained.
Haru felt trapped. Rin appeared to be counting on him, so he didn’t want to let him down but he wasn’t prepared for this. “What do I have to do?”
“You just have to make sure he gets to and from the bathroom safely and try to keep him hydrated.” Rin instructed.
“So… he’s really sick, huh?” Haru felt a bit bad for thinking so selfishly about what was convenient for him and ignoring the fact that Rin’s friend might be really sick.
Haru’s wondering came to an end when he heard the sound of someone coughing, coming from the bathroom and the toilet flushing.
“Sou? How ya holding up?” Rin went to check on him.
“Ah, I still feel like shit.” Sousuke moaned, he was leaning over the toilet, then looked up in surprise as he saw Haru standing behind Rin.
“Hello.” Haru said, rather forcefully.
“Ano, Rin- what’s he doing here?” Sousuke tried not to sound rude but he ended up coming off that way. His voice was slightly hoarse and he had dark shadows under his eyes.
“Yeah, see… about that. I promised coach I’d fill in for him today and I can’t back out of it now…” Rin said nervously.
Sousuke gave him a cold glare that looked even colder given his condition. “I don’t need a babysitter Rin.”
Rin crossed his arms and frowned. “You couldn’t even make it to the bathroom without waking me up three times in the middle of the night.”
Sousuke made a pained expression, Haru couldn’t tell if it was annoyance or embarrassment.
“Yabai! I’ve got to go! I’m ganna be late!” Rin scrambled around the room picking up his things and shoving them into his bag. “Thanks again Haru! I owe you one.” He winked at Haru before slamming the door shut.
Haru stood petrified in the room feeling like a caged animal, wanting nothing more than to escape.
“You don’t have to stay you know.” Sousuke told him. “Rin’s just being overprotective.”
Haru put down the bag of things he bought and thought about what to do.
“Is that the medicine?” Sousuke asked, seeing the bag.
“Oh, yeah did you want some?” Haru pulled out some of the bottles.
“Is one of those stomach medicine?”
“This one is.” Haru held it out for him to see. He felt awkward about entering the room.
Sousuke pushed himself into a standing position and came to get the medicine. He only made it halfway there however, before clutching his head and turning to lean over the sink.
Haru was suddenly struck with a strange feeling of worry but didn’t know how to react.
Sousuke was only leaning over the sink for a moment before he ducked into it and vomited.
Haru cringed and turned around, it felt like the room was getting smaller all of a sudden.
“I’m- really sorry about that.” Sousuke leaned against the door frame panting. He really did look quite ill. He was shirtless, his chest glistening with sweat and his face was deathly pale.
“Eto- here…” Haru handed him the stomach medicine and Sousuke gladly drank some of it. Then he collapsed into a chair.
“Wouldn’t you be more comfortable in bed?” Haru thought.
“I can’t keep climbing up and down the ladder.” Sousuke explained, pointing to his upper bunk. “I can’t easily get down on my own.” He leaned his head on his arms and rested his head on his desk.
Haru stood feeling anxious, not knowing what to do. “Ano- sono- I could… help- if you want to sleep.” He offered tentatively.
“No, I couldn’t ask you to do that.” Sousuke said plainly.
“I don’t mind, really.” Haru didn’t really understand what came over him to offer such a thing.
Sousuke considered it, not being able to deny that the desk was terribly uncomfortable. “You- sure you don’t mind?”
Haru nodded and Sousuke scratched his head feeling awkward. “I guess.” He gave in.
Haru helped him and up, carefully guiding him as Sousuke climbed up into his bed. He collapsed with a grateful sigh and fell asleep almost at once.
This was a relief to Haru, and he felt more relaxed. He sat down and took out some of his books to do some studying. He was only at it for about half an hour, when he heard a moan.
“Rin?” Sousuke asked weakly.
“Sousuke?” Haru stood up and Sousuke’s eyes widened as he saw Haru standing in his room.
“Where’s Rin?” He seemed flustered.
“He’s not back yet.” Haru explained.
Sousuke looked at the clock and saw that only half an hour had passed. He laid back with a moan. His stomach was flip flopping like crazy and he knew if he didn’t get down, he’s be heaving his guts out all over the side of his bed and that was the last thing he wanted to have happen.
“Do you need help down?” Haru asked, trying to spare Sousuke the conflict of asking.
He nodded and Haru climbed up and helped him get down. He put Sousuke’s arm around him and helped him walk to the bathroom. Before they made it however, Sousuke gagged into his hand and a wet sounds came from his throat.
Haru hurried to the bathroom, and Sousuke desperately made for the sink and dodged towards it. He lurched forward with a gag and puked up the stomach medicine he had taken. “Damn.” He coughed, wiping tears out of his eyes. “I guess it’d better stay down here awhile.” He tried to sound lighthearted but he didn’t receive much of a response from Haru.
He helped Sousuke sit on the floor in front of the toilet and went back to studying on Rin’s desk.
Haru studied for an hour or so then found himself feeling sleepy, so he laid his head down briefly. He awoke when he heard a strange sound and looked at the clock. It was already 5:00. “Rin should have been back by now.” He thought, and went to go check on Sousuke. “Sousuke?” He pushed the door open and saw Sousuke laying face down on the floor.
Haru’s heart skipped a beat and he ran to check on him. He carefully turned him over and laid Sousuke on his back, pressing his head to his chest to check for breathing sounds. He was breathing normally but Haru noticed that his skin was boiling hot. He took out his phone and called Rin at once.
Even after calling three times, Rin didn’t pick up, so he lifted Sousuke up and somehow carried him, laying him down in Rin’s bed. He rested quietly, not waking up, and Haru wondered if he should consider calling an ambulance.
“Haru?” Sousuke opened his eyes slightly and spoke in a whispered voice.
“Sousuke, can you hear me? You fell.” Haru was glad he was awake.
“Ah, that’s right. I got up to wash my face but felt dizzy and I guess I just collapsed.” Sousuke told him.
“Are you hurt?” Haru realized he hadn’t even considered that, but luckily Sousuke shook his head.
“I’m going to try calling Rin again.” Haru paced around the room for some minutes listening to a dial tone until he heard a noise and jumped in surprise.
Sousuke was leaning over the side of Rin’s bed, and he had started vomiting.
Haru nearly dropped his phone as he scrambled to bring Sousuke a trash bin.
“I’m sor-uhg sorry.” Sousuke winced.
“It’s okay. I should have thought of it sooner.”
“Why are you doing this? You hardly even know me.” Sousuke suddenly sounded down.
Haru thought briefly. “You’re Rin’s friend. If you’re Rin’s friend then… you must be an okay person.”
Sousuke looked up at him. “Haru-” but their moment of bonding was interrupted by a wet hiccup that led to Sousuke being violently sick into the trash bin.
As soon as he was finished, Haru got him a towel and some water.
“You’re a good guy too you know.” He told Haru. “I don’t think most people would put up with this for someone they hardly know.”
Haru shrugged. “I guess-”
The next moment, the door flew open and Rin ran in panting. He leaned forward trying to catch his breath and sighed loudly. “Sorry I’m late I-” his jaw dropped when he saw Sousuke in his bed.
“You!” He pointed at Haru. “How could you let that germ magnet sleep in my bed?”
“Oi, he had no choice Rin.” Sousuke defended Haru
Haru looked up, surprised.
“I fell in the bathroom… it was my fault. Honestly it was a good thing Haru was here.” Sousuke looked away, embarrassed.
Rin’s face softened and went to pat Haru on the back. “Looks like I really owe you one.”
