What do you think are Sukuna and Yuuji’s greatest personality strengths and weaknesses? Why? What do you love about their dynamic?
oh I love questions like that!!
for sukuna, I wanted to say his intelligence and creativity but to be honest I think it's his curiosity and inquisitiveness. Intelligence and creativity are like muscles. you develop them the more you observe, learn, practice and experience and one of sukuna's defining traits is that he's incredibly observant. his curiosity in a way contradicts his "I don't give a fuck about anything" attitude but then we have witnessed time and time again how he finds other sorcerous intriguing or in sukuna's words "fascinating". he even admits later to kashimo that he finds people tasty interesting
sukuna's curiosity allows him to learn new things and lets him acquire more knowledge (hence why he's so adaptable and strategic in combat), probably as a way to keep himself entertained, after all he's also a super bored individual. However, one would think that for someone with such strong sense of curiosity and inquisitiveness that naturally leads him into exploring and learning, he would be much more prone to growing and evolving as a person... well not in sukuna's case nuh uh. cause this guys biggest problem obstacle is him himself.
sukuna claims he doesn't need anyone and thinking his way of living is perfectly fine and yet he showed doubts when that one "annoying brat" who he can't seem to ged rid off (by literally and metaphorically cutting them off) the way he did everyone else, made him reflect on himself for the first time in millennium. sukuna is a great and cunning observant... of everyone but himself. I think his greatest personality weakness is his absolute lack of self awareness, which is kinda funny considering that he's also a character with the most overwhelming sense of self. it’s like he knows damn well who is and doesn’t need external validation but then because he never self reflects he can’t really grow and evolve as a person… and if it wasn't for sukuna and yuuji's forced coexistence, sukuna would have most likely still kept going about his life the way he always did without trying to understand his own thoughts, feelings, values, beliefs, and actions. the reason he never questioned his own way of being is cause others are just a way for him to pass time rather than an opportunity to reflect upon himself and learn something about his own inner workings…
and then we have yuuji who I would say is on the same spectrum just on the opposite end. yuuji doesn't really reflect on himself or questions the world he lives in but that wasn't always the case. in the first ten chapter we actually get to witness his internal monologue about death and his place in all of this but after his first encounter with a certain death, everything changes. yuuji stopped reflecting on himself and instead started repressing his emotions. someone actually made a great meta about this, he actively avoids thinking about the whole situation, which brings me to my point. I think yuuji's greatest personality weakness is actually his impulsiveness. he tends to make decisions without thinking about the consequences first. yuuji, like most of teenagers tbh, doesn't want to think too hard about the world he lives in so long as he has something to do but I believe this might also be related to the perception he has of himself as "the dumb one". “Im an idiot so there’s no point in me thinking about these things right?” you can even see that sort of attitude when megumi admits why he saved yuuji that day
you’re so smart fushiguro. thinking about all sorts of stuff, unlike me.
oh yuuji.. yuuji.. :/. but in some ways yuuji's impulsiveness can also work in his favour. his "do it now, think later" attitude doesn't allow him much room to overthink, so once he commits to a task he doesn't back down until he achieve his goal. that's why, I believe his greatest strength are his determination and strong will, something even sukuna couldn't break.
sukuna and yuuji’s strength and weakness go hand in hand and complement one another. sukuna's habitual curiosity reflects yuuji's obliviousness to the world around him, whilst yuuji's determination (but also just sheer existence) caused sukuna to have doubts about his way of living. they're complete polar opposite and yet in some ways they're more alike than they think. neither of them is a big fan of self reflection. they're both stubborn af. physical pain is just an after thought to them, they'll keep going even if they loose half of their limbs. "violence is the solution". they're both freaks who don't mind eating human flesh and one of them actually enjoys it. and lastly, they're both just really miserable. sukuna's selfishness only made him hollow inside and yuuji's selflessness only brought him more suffering and pain. they also think that the solution to their problems is to kill the other one (which is kinda funny now that I think about it lol tho in yuuji's case this is kinda true.. but also not really) and yet they’ve been essential to each other’s growth. they’re both really fucked up individuals who hate each other’s guts and make each other’s lives a living hell but at the same time they also know and understand the other one’s soul like no one else… what’s not to love?
sukuna and yuuji’s dynamic is actually the reason why I fell in love w jjk in the first place. their interactions are always fun and entertaining and they always leave with an even bigger brainrot but at this point I think it’s safe to say that these two consumed my mind and heart and maybe even soul completely. I just can’t get enough of them.

The good thing about having his own house, away from the other crew members, is that Magnus could sing as loud as he wanted, burn as much food as he possibly could, or even walk around naked, and no one would scold or laugh at him. The bad part about living in his own house is that it was really damn lonely. Suffocatingly lonely, to the point that Magnus sometimes forgot he was actually a person and not just a ghost living in this house. The dogs helped a lot, but the feeling persisted.
This is why he crossed the street at seven this morning and knocked on the door to Barry and Lup's house, inviting himself inside when neither of them answered. They had an incomplete puzzle on their coffee table that Magnus started to work out. When Lup came downstairs around an hour later, she stopped to stare at Magnus, blinking a few times as if he was a trick of the light, and then kept on her way to the kitchen. A few minutes later, she brought him a cup of coffee and then, presumably, went back to the kitchen to start on breakfast.
Barry stumbled down the stairs a while later, hair still wet from a shower. Magnus snorted when he stopped in the exact spot that Lup had, taking off his glasses to clean them, and then squinting at him as if Magnus had just been a smudge on the lens.
"Uhm," Barry said. "What'cha doing here, bud?"
"Bored," Magnus said, shrugging. "This puzzle is fucked."
"I think you're just bad at puzzles, Mags," Barry said. He came over to the couch, sitting himself down next to Magnus and bending over to look at what was done so far. Maybe Magnus being bad at puzzles was a fair assessment, because he had only got some of the edge pieces put together, and the wizard hat of whoever was in the middle.
They sat there, mulling over the puzzle for a while. Barry started connecting pieces that Magnus didn't even know were in front of him. By the time Lup came out with food and more coffee, Magnus had resigned himself to watching Barry do the puzzle, instead.
"Eggs," Lup said enticingly, shoving a plate into Magnus's arms. She set two mugs down on the coffee table and Barry picked one up without looking away from the puzzle. He took a sip and then grimaced and put it back down, picking up the other one.
"Sorry," Barry said. "Thought that one was mine."
"It's in my mug, babe."
The mug was a deep red with the words "don't talk to me until I've killed you with this mug". Very Lup-esque.
"I'm doing a puzzle," Barry said. "I didn't look!"
"We're doing a puzzle," Magnus said.
"No, I think Barry's doing it," Lup said. "Take a break to eat, babe."
Barry glanced up- Magnus was already eating part of his plate. Ham and eggs and toast, all very good. Lup slid his plate towards him and Barry sighed, sitting back and reaching for the forks she had brought out too. There was silence for a while as they ate. It was a much nicer silence than sitting in his house, alone, eating mediocre eggs and ham. Lup was the first to finish, setting the plate aside on the coffee table and leaning down to look at the puzzle. Magnus was finished too, but he didn't know where to put his plate so he just sort of held onto it.
"Where did we get a puzzle that was literally just a picture of Taako?" Lup asked after a few more minutes of Magnus watching them put it together. Sure enough, under the wizard hat Magnus had put together by himself was Taako.
"I think he gave it to me for my birthday," Barry said, snapping another piece in place.
"Sounds about right," Lup said.
Another silence. Barry and Lup were putting together the puzzle much faster now. Magnus took a sip of his coffee. As they put Taako's apron into place, Magnus cleared his throat and said,
"How's it feel being like, a lich?"
Barry's hand stilled over one of the pieces. Lup hummed.
"Lich-y," she said. Magnus huffed out a little laugh. "I don't know how to describe it, Mags. Wanna share why you wanna know? 'Cause I'm ninety percent sure my ass will get fired literally and metaphorically if I help you become a lich."
"I don't wanna be a lich," Magnus said. "I've had enough of living forever, thanks. I just kinda like... I don't know. Like when you got your body back after so long, did it feel weird? Like too fleshy?"
"Yeah," Lup said. Barry nodded in agreement.
"Lonely?" Magnus asked.
"I... wouldn't use the word lonely," Barry said. "Not exactly, anyhow. But it is sorta weird going from like... not being contained within anything directly into a breathing body again. Kinda like-" he snapped his fingers, screwing his face up for a second as he thought. "Like, uh, Wonderland? When you were dead, and then you were only kinda dead inside the mannequin? It's like... so much, all at once. But also not enough, y'know?"
"No, I get it," Magnus said. "It was very- very disorienting. I didn't like it very much. I just? I don't know. Usually, when I die, I just die. But then I was dead but not dead? More than when we were on the Starblaster. But I wasn't alive, I just wasn't dead. That doesn't make sense, does it?"
"I got'cha. Sounds rough, Mags," Lup said. Magnus nodded, not sure what else to say to make himself make sense. "D'you wanna talk about it or d'you just wanna watch us do this puzzle. Or both, I guess."
"Kinda wanna talk about it," Magnus said. "Never really had to chance to, I think."
"Go for it," Barry said, taking a sip of his coffee. He snapped another piece of the puzzle in. "We're here to listen, bud."

Mommy Virgin ll // Alpha! Babydaddy! JJK x Pregnant! Chubby Reader
W! Strong Language¡!..Sexy buff men¡! Jk in uniform¡! Guess the guest star? Not a warning but 🤷🏽‍♀️
Tumblr media
Pssst...if you're new, You might need this -> Mommy Virgin I
An eye-opening scenery opposite of once you closed them welcomed your weary eyes. The sun-kissed your chubby cheeks-Your..in a field...Again, your modesty was at stake this time around the bend.
The nightgown felt like a second layer of skin...clingy onto every curve on your body. You covered yourself from the chilling breeze.
Where's the solder? He didn't do this...Did he? But I would notice him carrying me.
Between the pervious nightmare and now, This place is heaven on earth-soft vibrate flowery fields was a sight for sore eyes. Yet, We all know since can change in a *Snap* especially in a dream.
"Are you alright?" This man was also dressed in military training attire. If his muscles and tattoos weren't intimidating enough then his piercings may do the trick...but he did had a charm to him. "Are you bleeding anywhere?" The soldier nonconsensually examined your bare legs something you didn't mind..honestly.
Only thing you could do was watch. You found yourself speechless over your new dreamland hunk much like Chu Buyeon. However Instead of long black hair, this guy's cut was short like the male leads in ceo themed K-dramas, his eyes were round and child-like, and his smile-
"Miss?" You appeared in a dazed state to the soldier. "Miss, I'm gonna take you with me for safety and medical treatment..."He attempted explained through your daydreaming.
As his large body crouch in closer, You sat still for the soldier as he carried you respectfully. He kept you close to his heart leaving you the perfect opportunity to read his name tag. Jeon.
About halfway through the journey you discovered a horrifying restriction in this dream, You weren't able to utter a word. You attempted to greet the soldier yet he didn't answer. He can't hear you.
"I'm sorry if I'm scaring you.." His voice was comforting. " I just wanted to get you into a safer place..not near the training grounds...it's not safe for citizens."
The soldier's handling of you resembles how a person treats glass.
Along the way, You can't help but notice his beautiful facial features. His brown eyes go deeper than you imagined, there's a cute mole under his bottom lip, a big cute nose, bunny teeth ♡ and chubby cheeks.
There's no way he's a soldier. You though throught the shock.
Before you could consent, you were in the arms of another man this soldier was bashful but crazy strong much like the bunny one. Woo read the patch on his chest. Woo's eyes widen at Jeon " Dude!" He was frantic. Women are strictly not allowed on base and for a good reason-the men. Woo restricted the entrances and blocked the windows. "What the hell?! Are you crazy or do you just have a death wise!?"
Woo kept his volume low ensuring he doesn't surprise you with his harsh tone to his comrade.
" I found her laying in the training fields. What else was I suppose to do, Do Hwan?.." Jeon took pride in lending you his aid regardless of the trouble that comes with you but it's not your fault in his eyes, you're a lost bunny (ironically). " If you were in my shoes you would have done the same thing." He stressed.
Woo could only sigh. "I'm sorry..I'm sorry.." He backed off - "It's just a really what the hell moment, right now."
" How do you think I feel? " Jeon added his horrifying experience. "I was scared shitless fucking running with her WITHOUT anyone seeing her." He reeks of fear.
Surprise! It's a Teaser! I'm sorry but it's more of a tester than Teaser. I'm getting writers block for this story but I love it so much. Please tell me if you like it.

Day 0 — prologue
"I need someone that isn’t very strong minded, someone that will respond to the experiment.”
“The hospital is filled with vulnerable patients.”
“But they’re watched by so many nurses and their families are breathing down their necks. If anyone disappeared, people would notice … I need someone that no one would miss, you know?”
“There’s one actually … one that no one really knows anything about. Their family has never visited and none of the nurses have barely seen them. They could be interesting for your experiment.”
“Who?”
“Dr Kry’s little sweetheart.”
Tumblr media
Day 1
You can hear someone whispering in the room. Lazily, you open your eyes to see who Dr Kry is hissing with. In the darkness of the room you can tell that there are two men, but you can’t tell who Dr Kry is. None of them resembles him. You know how his body looks and both of these men look too … old?
“Oh, they’re awake”, an unfamiliar voice chuckles lowly.
“Not for long.”
“What’s going on?” you mumble tiredly as you feel one of the men take your arm in his cold hand.
“Shh, just relax for me. It’ll just sting a little.”
The sharp pain from a needle causes your eyes to pry open and your heart to stop. Your eyes dart down to where the pain originates from and finds that the unfamiliar man is currently injecting you with some kind of substance.
“What are you doing?!” you gasp in pure terror.
“Shh”, the man with the needle says calmly and puts his finger over his mouth, a warning for you to quiet down. “You’ll soon go to sleep, don’t worry.”
You can start to feel how your body starts to go numb, how your eyes want to flutter shut. You fight against the substance, refusing to let your unconscious body fall in the hands of these two strange men.
“Don’t fight it”, the man with the needle says in a comforting yet taunting manner. “Just give in.”
“N-No ..”, you choke out.
Your vision starts to get more and more blurry until it all turns black.
You wake up with your head down on a table. Groggily, you sit up and look around. Quickly, you seem to sober up the second you realize that you’re not in your hospital room anymore. The room you’re in now is an empty, white room with a large mirror to your side. It takes up most of the wall. A security camera is watching you from the corner of the room. You look down at the table you were sleeping on and notice that your hands are cuffed to the white surface.
Your heart accelerates to 100km/h. It’s going to jump out of your chest at any moment.
“W-What’s going on?!” you shout and look around in despair. “Hello?!”
“Don’t panic, my dear”, the voice who told you to give in to the substance says through the speaker under the security camera. “Calm down and listen to me, okay?”
“W-Where am I?”
“You’re in my little … playhouse. We’re going to have a lot of fun here, you and I.”
You shake your head as tears start to form in your eyes. You don’t want to know what his kind of fun is. Panic starts burning in your chest.
“Please let me go”, you start to sob.
“Don’t cry. I only need you for a little while.”
“A-And then what? Will I get to go home?”
“Home? Gosh no! You’d go straight to the police and expose all the fun we had here! My funhouse is exclusive. I can’t let just anyone participate!”
“I don’t want to participate!”
“But you’re here now. I can’t let you go. I can tell you what I’m going to do with you, though. I’m going to test the human’s brain and you’re going to help me. If everything goes well, I’ll get famous!”
You wish that you could wipe your runny nose, but your hands are chained with heavy chains and you’re in no physical state to lift them.
Tumblr media
Day 2
Nothing really happened yesterday. You were left alone in the white room. A sound was coming from the loudspeaker. The sound of flies flying around. In the beginning, you tried to find something of a rhythm in it to create somewhat of a melody, but quickly started getting annoyed at the buzz. You had shouted to turn it off and only heard a giggle in the loudspeaker in return. You don’t know how long time had passed, but you’re sure you had to sit and listen to that sound for at last four hours.
Today, however, the man has decided to step it up a notch. The door opens and he walks in with a TV on a rolling table. You refuse to look at him. The TV turns on and you’re forced to see a slideshow of the most grotesque pictures taken at crime scenes — some by the cops and some by the killers themselves. Over the pictures, a distorted melody with occasional screams can be heard. You don’t doubt that the screams are real. This one breaks you down easier than the buzzing you heard yesterday. Even if you look away, you can still hear the sound. You can’t lift up your hands to cover your ears.
“Make it stop!” you plead and feel the tears burn behind your eyelids. “Please!”
No response.
“P-Please, I-I’ll do anything”, you sob, your whole body shaking along. “I’ll do … do anything … please.”
“You were cuter than I thought”, the voice in the loudspeaker says. “So fragile. I get why Dr Kry wants you.”
“Dr Kry? I-Is he involved in this?!”
“No, he’s not. Your little doctor is actually looking for you. I heard that he destroyed a trash can in anger and looked at the security footage yesterday.”
You look up at the security camera.
“Oh, don’t bother”, the voice says. “This camera leads to my own little private collection. I want to save my playtimes so I can rewatch them once you’re dead.”
You sob again.
“Look up, Y/N”, the man says, “and turn your head to your right.”
You do. The only thing you can see is your own image. Your red eyes, the messy hair, your body in the hospital gown and your hands chained to the table. You look horrible.
“That’s right”; the man sighs out in satisfaction — almost a moan. “Looking so ... so fragile. Fuck."
You look down in the realization that this is a one way mirror. He's sitting on the other side of the glass, currently getting off on your fear. You've never felt so exposed before. You can only imagine what he'll do with the footage later on. Shame creeps up on you. Embarrassed to be treated like this, ashamed that you can't do anything to stop it. You're only a pawn in his manic game.
Tumblr media
Dr Kry has been running around looking for you for over twenty four hours now. He hasn't rested once, hasn’t eaten once either. The only thing he’s nourished himself with is energy drinks and coffee, but that’s only to keep up his energy so he can look for you. The very thought about sitting down and eating makes him sick. How can he? You're his will to live! If he can't find you … no, he doesn't want to think about that. He is going to find you. He has to.
Yesterday when he walked into your room and found that you weren’t there, he had freaked out. First, the thought that you had snuck down to the cafeteria. Firstly, he had gotten annoyed. Like, hasn’t he made it clear to you not to leave his room without him by your side? He promised himself that he would punish you if he found you munching on a sandwich down at the cafeteria. He’s had to punish you a few times for sneaking out or talking with other patients and doctors and it hurts him so much every time. He doesn’t blame you, never does. You’re a little sweetheart, it's other peoples’ bad influence that makes you act badly. But that’s why Dr Kry is here. He’ll always make sure you never get in trouble.
He couldn’t figure out for the life of him who could have made you sneak out, but he promised himself to make sure they never talk to you again. To his disappointment, the cafeteria was empty. Somehow, he was happy that you weren’t here, it meant that you didn’t betray his trust by walking down here … but he’s disappointed because that meant that you could be anywhere in this large building. Or even outside in the harsh, cruel world. He had asked people if they’d seen you, but he got two answers — both disappointing. They’d either not seen you … or they didn’t know who you are. Dr Kry kicked a trash can on his way to the security room. On the way, he met one of the doctor assistants he never talks to. The man avoided his gaze and switched corridors the second they walked past each other. He watched the security footage … but it was all deleted. There was nothing to see. You were nowhere to be seen!
Dr Kry has been all over the town in search of you. He's been to your parents house (without them noticing), to your friends houses (you’ve only told him about them once, but he remembers so well)  and all the possible places you could hide — such as coffee shops and parks. You’re nowhere to be found.
He sinks down in his seat in the car and hides his face into his hands. Where are you? He doesn’t believe that you’ve hid from him anymore. You wouldn’t last this long. If you wanted to give him a scare, you’d hide for an hour or so and then pop out to scare him … you wouldn’t do this. Someone must have taken you.
It hits him. Someone must have seen you. You can’t just have disappeared like that. He thinks harder, enough to make his brain creak. There was no footage from the security cameras from the night you disappeared from the period of two am to three am. Someone must have deleted it.
That assistant. The one he passed by yesterday. It must have been him.
Tumblr media
Day 3
“Today, my little doll, we’ll see how your brain reacts to physical pain!”
You don’t answer. Three days have passed and you’ve already lost all hope. Not a single bite of food have you been granted and not a single drop of water. If you don’t get to drink today you’ll die. Somehow you hope that the freak behind the one sided mirror won’t give you any water. You just want to get out of here and if the only way is death … then so be it. You feel like you’re a ghost. None of this is really real, you’re not actually sitting in the chair, your hands aren’t actually chained. You’re just dreaming. You’re not here. You’re not here. You’re not here.
The door opens and the man enters. You can’t look at him, he makes your stomach turn.
“Before we start, I remembered that you need to have something yummy to eat”, he says as if he was talking to a doll or a child. “I brought you mashed potatoes.”
“I don’t want it”, you mumble.
“Open up.”
He holds the spoon with mashed potatoes to your mouth. You keeps your lips together and turn your head away. The man pokes your cheek with the spoon, growing more and more impatient.
“Eat. It.”
You gather enough courage to shake your head.
“Ungrateful little bitch!” he shouts and flips the table over.
You choke back a scream and break out in sobs, squeezing your eyes shut. Your entire body is shaking with terrified sobs. He slaps you with all his might causing your head to swing to the side. Your body would follow if it wasn’t for the fact that you’re chained to the table. You sob more at the fear of this madman than the stinging pain.
“If you don’t behave, I’ll have to finish up our playtime earlier than I want to”, the man whispers and grabs your face between his cold, disgusting hands. “And I want to play with you for a bit more.”
You glare at him through your tears. He picks up a scalpel from his white lab coat and places it over your bare arm. You shake your head desperately, voice no longer working.
“It’s just a test, my little doll”, he whispers. “Everything is for human kind, okay?”
“No!” you manage to shout. “I don’t want it, stop it!”
Too late. He has let the sharp knife-like object over your arm. You let out a loud scream which echoes in the room and makes the man smile.
“So beautiful”, he purrs and lets the bloody scalpel run lazily over your lips. “My own little doll ... I’m going to fucking destroy you.”
The door bursts open and before you can register anything, the man in front of you has been tackled to the floor and beaten to a pulp. You recognize the blonde hair and break out into relieved sobs. The man stands up, blood covering his white lab coat.
“Shh, it’s okay”, he pants as he unlocks your chains. “Don’t cry, I’m here now.”
As soon as your hands are free, you wrap them around his strong neck and bury your head into his shoulder. Dr Kry hates to see the cuts on your body and he hates to feel how you tremble in his arms. He lifts you up and you hook your legs around his waist. With one muscular arm around your waist and one around your shoulders, he carries you out of this horrifying room. A few guards run past him to get the unconscious man.
“I’m so sorry, Y/N”, Dr Kry whispers with tears in his throat as he walks. “I’m so, so sorry. I shouldn’t have left your door unlocked. I’ll never forgive myself. I’ll kill him, I promise. I’ll make sure he never hurts you again. I’ll take care of you better, never let you out of my sight.”
You cry against his shoulder as he takes you back to your room. You cling onto him even tighter. He’s your knight in shining armor, he saved you! You’ll always be in debt to him. Fantastic Dr Kry.
Dr Kry places you down on your bed and starts to look and feel around, to see if you’re really here or if he’s hallucinating. He hasn’t been sleeping for a long time.
“You need to wash yourself”, he says. “You look horrible. I can do it for you.”
You nod. Dr Kry picks you up again and walks into the bathroom. You get placed in the tub before he removes the dirty hospital gown. He’ll burn it — never want to see it again. You sit in the bathtub and hug your legs close to your naked body to hide, wishing to never exist again. Dry Kry wishes that you didn’t hide, you’re so beautiful. He shakes his head. Now’s not the time. He feels the water pouring from the showerhead with one hand as he adjusts the water with the other.
“Bend your head back for me”, he says softly. “I don’t want to pour water into your eyes.”
You bend your head back and he starts to pour the lukewarm water over your hair.
“Is it comfortable?” he asks.
You nod carefully, scared of every single action.
“How did you find me?” you whisper.
“I found the guy that helped your sick capturer. I pulled him into a storage room and forced him to tell me where you were”, Dr Kry says, hatred in his voice.
He won’t say what he threatened the assistant with, but you can only imagine.
“I came just in time”, Dr Kry says. “He was going to hurt you badly, that son of a bitch. I’ll make sure he pays for it, my- …” He cuts himself off, almost giving you a pet name. He clears his throat, embarrassed. “I’ll make him pay.”
“What were you going to say?” you ask quietly.
“Nothing, don’t worry about it.”
You give him the sweetest doe eyes that makes him melt and he can’t do anything else but tell you.
“I was going to call you ‘my little one’”, he says with a shy smile and runs his free hand through your wet hair, the other one continuing to pour water on your scalp.
“I like that”, you whisper and look down.
Dr Kry smiles in relief. God, you’re so fucking cute.
“You are my little one”, he says softly. “My only little one.”
He melts at the sight of your small smile. He’ll never let anyone steal that smile from you again. He’ll never let anyone take you from him again.
“Doctor …”, you whisper weakly as he shampoos your hair.
“Yeah?”
“Please never leave me. He scared me so badly.”
“Never. I’ll always protect you. I’ll lock your door at night and be much, much more careful. I’ll make sure he disappears, okay?”
You nod tiredly. Dr Kry sighs and leans forward to press a promising kiss to your forehead.
After he’s bathed you, he gives you a new hospital gown and tucks you into your bed. You hug the teddy bear and sniffle. Dr Kry glances down at the bruises around your wrists and gets filled with anger once again. He’s going to kill that psychopath. How dare he touch his darling?
As soon as you fall asleep, Dr Kry leaves the room, locking the door behind him. He feels the handle to make sure that it's locked before scurrying away to the security room. He turns off the cameras and grabs a crowbar on his way. This motherfucker is going to die. Normally, Dr Kry doesn't like getting his hands dirty, but this time he's looking forward to it.
He opens the door to the jail cell. The man is sitting on the bench inside with his head in his hands. He looks up and his eyes widen.
"D-Dr Kry, listen, man-", he starts, trembling.
"Quiet", Dr Kry growls. "I don't want to hear a single word from you. I'm going to kill you."
"Y-You can't, the cameras-"
"Your little friend isn't the only one who can manipulate cameras." Dr Kry swings the crowbar around his hand. "No one will know who killed you and I don't think anyone will care either. You're mine to play with now."
The man goes white.
"I'm going to play with you like you played with my darling", Dr Kry says in a warning calmness and takes a step forward. "I'm going to give back for everything you did to them."
"I'll never touch them again, I promise!"
"You bet you won't. They're mine, do you hear that? Only mine. The fact that you thought you had the audacity to touch them is enough for me to kill you. But after what you've done … I'm going to make you suffer." Dr Kry towers over the trembling man. "I'm going to beat you so badly that you can't move, can't think, can't breathe. The dying part will be done by yourself."
"N-No please, I'm sorry!"
Dr Kry swings his crowbar. "Too late."
He closes the door behind him.

hi, I'm not sure if you accept requests rn, but if you do, can u make a oneshot of sanemi nursing giyuu back to health after a near-death experience? like a demon, or maybe drowning, if not that's totally fine!
hhihi anon<3
Yes, I do accept requests from here bc I get considerably less on tumblr (which is a relief btw-), so I'll do it
I hope I wrote this quickly enough ;x; I think it took a couple of days, sorry
Thoughts of you | {SaneGiyuu}
Tumblr media
Theme: Floof w/ practically non-existent angst
Note: Aaaa there wasn't a lot of the 'nursing back to health' IM SORRY- bc it was mostly giyuu falling in love towards middle-end
×××
Giyuu had worked himself to near-death quite literally. It wasn't on purpose, really! He had just gone... overboard. He'd gotten distracted. Which was unlike himself, unlike a Hashira. But it happened, and there wasn't any going back. He had trained from hour to hour, little to no stop, slept about two hours total in the last three days, and hadn't bothered to get any proper food. He supposed it was some prolonged adrenaline that kept him throughout the days, letting him trudge on. He had gotten another mission, at one point, after these days of totally-taking-care-of-himself, and had gone along tiredly. He had no time to rest, after all.
He had arrived on time, luckily, and had decapitated the demon within the first ten minutes. There was a couple other demons, which took longer to kill because they were hiding. Once finding them, he sapped up the strength he had left and killed them as well. He found, however, that he had used up any energy he'd had left, and tipped over. He wobbled, trying and failing to regain his balance. Then next thing he knew, he was submerged in water, arms aching as he attempted to swim to the surface. He hadn't realized there was an ocean here.
Then he realized there had been some sort of river, maybe. Connecting to a waterfall? It was either considerably deeper than he'd imagined or he was simply too exhausted to get up. He was floating upside down, his eyes shut tight to prevent water from entering them. He felt something sharp grazing his arm and flinched away before realizing it was his katana. He struggled for a moment, trying to sheathe it, but failed. He didn't feel like moving. His body felt like lead and he didn't know if he would ever move again. He felt the breath being drawn out from his lungs, replaced by water. It stung and he coughed, then realized that struggling would only worsen the pain. He stopped, allowing the water to enter his mouth, ignoring the throb in his lungs and the impulse to cough it out.
And suddenly he was flying. Rising? What was happening? His senses had long since faded to a low dull but he felt strong arms wrapping around his torso, lifting him up and out of the water. He felt heavier, the water that had soaked into his clothing weighing him down.
"Damn you, Tomioka..." a distant voice from above him said, annoyance and concern lacing the words.
Giyuu coughed pitifully, the air hitting him like a gust of arctic wind. He was placed down, grass poking at his skin. Hands pressed on his chest, making his cough more, water slowly forcing his way into or out of his lungs. He felt like he couldn't breathe, and didn't make a move to try. He vaguely registered lips against his own, the blissful feeling of air in his lungs again, before blacking out, his senses going dark.
He woke up, eventually. It hurt to breathe and he struggled to draw in a steady breath. His hand stung and he recalled having cut it somehow. His head throbbed like a lightbulb, fading in and out. He sat up slowly, dizzy from the blood that rushed to his head. He blinked. He was laying in a futon, a blanket draped over his body. He lifted his injured hand and found it bandaged. He looked around. He didn't recognize this place. It was unfamiliar to him, and he hated it.
His breath was constricted, though, and if he couldn't breathe well there really wasn't any chance of leaving. He coughed, the unsettling feeling of water still in his lungs making him want to tear them out.
His coughing had brought attention to him and he heard only a minute later he heard a clattering sound of something wooden falling, then footsteps making their way quickly to the room. He went to pretend he was asleep but was a moment too late when, to his shock, Sanemi entered.
He walked to the futon, kneeling down. "You're an idiot, Tomioka, you know that, right?"
Giyuu didn't respond, wondering if this was Sanemi's house then—or if he had simply been put up to the task of helping him.
Sanemi let out a breath. "Fine, be it your way. Does anything hurt particularily badly?"
Giyuu considered this and shook his head. No, nothing did. It stung when he breathed in and his hand and head hurt, but none of them were bad. He'd definitely experienced worse before.
"Good," Sanemi said with a nod. "Now, tell me what you were doing tipping over into the water on your mission."
"I'm sorry," Giyuu mumbled. He didn't know why he had let down his guard, let himself fall. He honestly didn't.
"You better be. Also, I had Kocho run some tests on you too. Turns out you haven't eaten or drunk enough water in the past few days or so, also you've had not even close to enough sleep, and according to your crow you haven't stopped training to do much in the first place," Sanemi said, an exasperated sigh leaving his body. "You're an idiot, Tomioka. Take better care of yourself."
Giyuu hesitated. "She can see that much from a test?"
Sanemi lifted a shoulder. "It was also just eyeing you. Those eyebags were enough indication in terms of sleep."
"Oh."
Sanemi nodded.
"I feel better now, I can go home," Giyuu said, starting to stand.
Sanemi pushed him back down. "No. You're staying here and sleeping until you get better. I don't want to see you getting up for anything except the bathroom, alright?"
Giyuu frowned. "But-"
"No."
There were no more arguments to be said. Sanemi left to go make some food and Giyuu was on his own again, fuming.
He looked down at himself and realized, for the first time, that he wasn't in his own clothes. Had Sanemi changed him?
He glanced around, not seeing his haori around. A sort of panic rose in him and he scrambled up, wobbling for a second, before making his way to the hall where he'd seen Sanemi go. He scampered through it, looking right and left. Had his haori fallen off or been ripped or?-
Sanemi stopped him, clear annoyance directed towards Giyuu. "What the hell are you doing up? I told you to stay down unless you needed the bathroom!"
Giyuu ignored him. "Where's... my haori?" he asked quietly, urgently.
Sanemi let out a breath. "If that was all, you could've just asked." Then his expression softened as he noticed the panic in Giyuu's voice. "It's fine. I washed it and it's drying now. You were soaked from the river, I wasn't about to leave you in those clothes and let you get sick."
Giyuu relaxed. He trusted that Sanemi wouldn't do anything to his haori—he didn't have any reason to, after all. "...thank you," he mumbled.
Sanemi nodded. "Now, back to bed."
He marched him back to the room, tucking him in.
"I'll bring you your food. So cooperate, okay?"
Giyuu nodded.
Sanemi nodded back, gave him one last look, before closing the door and going back down the hall.
×××
Despite Sanemi's usual arrogance, he was surprisingly tender when caring for Giyuu. There were times he reminded him of Tsutako, his hands gently wrapping bandages back around Giyuu's injured hand, feeding him food when Giyuu lapsed into some sort of fever for a couple days. It was soothing, almost, and Giyuu found great comfort from it. He didn't know that Sanemi was able to be like this but he loved it and hoped that maybe it would last a bit longer.
Though he was considerably kinder to Giyuu, Sanemi still found ways to berate him, getting mad at him when he tried getting up on his own during the fever.
While carrying him to the bathroom, Sanemi would snap at him, saying that he was being stubborn for not letting himself be helped. It was ironic that he reminded Giyuu of Tsutako; they were complete opposites in every way possible. But it was what seperated him from Tsutako, it was what made him his own person. And it was what made Giyuu's heart throb almost yearningly around Sanemi. He didn't understand it, at first. He figured it was just a reminising of his past days as a child—those of which he could barely remember, he might add. And yet as time passed on, he found it wasn't that. He found he had fallen for Sanemi. Somehow.
He thought it would be a fleeting crush. Maybe just happy to be with Sanemi when he was being nicer. But it grew stronger as days passed. Then Giyuu was allowed out, he was released back into the comfort of his own home. Yet he went back to Sanemi the following day, offering him some food as a thank you. They sat together and talked, drank tea and had some mochi. It was wonderful.
He managed to convince himself, at one point, that he was only coming to thank him for it. That it meant nothing. But it became clear, and he couldn't deny it anymore, when he stopped by the following days, found himself around Sanemi constantly, and... And his thoughts seemed to trail to Sanemi no matter what. Oh, look, a dog! Sanemi likes dogs. A cat? Sanemi never cared for cats. There's a snake in that pet shop! Obanai has a snake. Sanemi and Obanai are friends, right? Obanai is one of the few Sanemi actually gets along with. Hmm, maybe some tea would be good. Sanemi seemed to like tea—or at least have it often with ohagi.
No, yeah, no. Giyuu was in love.
Upon Sanemi's threats, Giyuu started taking more mind to himself. He tried to sleep at least a couple hours per day, tried to eat and drink more water, kept track of the time and his own body while training. He felt proud of himself for going through with Sanemi's words—then immediately felt childish for being proud. But he continued at it. Although if he hadn't, he probably would've been forced to by Shinobu or Sanemi in the first place.
Usually, on his missions, Giyuu managed to avoid any injuries worse than a scratch. Except he had gotten distracted this time. His distraction had caught himself off guard and, as he hurried to get back to the present, the demon had managed to slash his leg where the uniform wasn't protecting him. It wasn't a particularily strong demon, so it didn't do much harm, but blood still dampened his clothing. Giyuu killed the demon quickly and then stumbled out of the village he had been in, avoiding people. His calf stung and he winced as he walked.
He realized that the closest house he knew of that he could go to from here wasn't his own or the Butterfly Estate. Rather, it was Sanemi's. Figuring he could persuade Sanemi for, maybe, some bandages, he rushed over, ignoring the pain that stabbed his leg as he ran.
He knocked on the door. Luckily, dawn was approaching, so Sanemi was home. The door opened and Sanemi rolled his eyes upon seeing Giyuu injured. He grabbed Giyuu by the elbow and tugged him inside, closing the door behind him.
"Are you going to keep injuring yourself and running to me for help?" Sanemi asked with slight irritation, searching through his drawers for something.
Giyuu lifted a shoulder. "I didn't come to you the first time."
"Still." Sanemi turned, bandages and some cotton balls in hand. He knelt, having Giyuu sit on a chair, and rolled Giyuu's pant leg up, wiping the blood away then dabbing the cotton balls with something and cleaning the wound. He wrapped the bandages around it, tucked it in, then looked up. "Doesn't hurt bad, does it?"
Giyuu shook his head. "It's fine. The demon wasn't that strong. I just... got distracted."
Sanemi frowned. "So you're off forgetting you're also human and overworking yourself to half-death, then you're getting distracted and getting injured by a weak demon now?" he asked pointedly, a disappointed sigh leaving him.
"...when you put it like that," Giyuu mumbled.
"Why the fuck were you even distracted?" Sanemi asked, resting a hand on Giyuu's knee as he pulled himself up.
Giyuu hesitated. "I was... thinking."
"About?"
"...you?"
Sanemi paused. "What?"
"Sorry, nevermind, nothing," Giyuu said quickly, standing suddenly and nearly knocking Sanemi and the chair over.
"What the fuck do you mean, me?" Sanemi asked, stepping in front of Giyuu and stopping him from moving forward.
"No, I..." Giyuu shook his head. "Nothing."
"...Tomioka," Sanemi said.
Giyuu looked up.
"Tomioka, do you like me?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
"W...WHAT???" Giyuu asked, startled. He fell back onto the chair in his shock.
"God, why are you shouting now?" Sanemi said with a sigh.
"That was so random..." Giyuu mumbled.
"Yeah, well, you're acting like you like me. So either you clarify that you're not, or I'm going to keep you here until you tell me something worth hearing," Sanemi said, poising his hands on his hips.
Giyuu let out a breath. "I can't clarify something that's not true."
Sanemi cocked his head to the side. "What?"
"You told me to clarify that I didn't like you," Giyuu said quietly.
Sanemi took a moment to understand. "Oh. Oh, so you do?"
Giyuu nodded slowly, looking away. It couldn't hurt to tell him, right? He would probably just act as he had before he had helped him. Angry and annoyed at him.
And yet.
"Hm. That's unexpected," Sanemi admitted.
"Can I go now?" Giyuu asked.
Sanemi thought for a moment. "No."
"But I told you-"
"Yeah, shut up," Sanemi said with a huff. He glanced down at Giyuu's lap the promptly sat down, facing him.
Giyuu flushed and tried pushing Sanemi off for a half second, before his hands fell to his side and he looked up at Sanemi. "What're you...?"
"If you like me, then would you date me?" Sanemi asked curiously, ignoring his question.
Giyuu considered this. "Only if you liked me too."
"Then will you be my boyfriend?" Sanemi inquired, sounding so casual it took Giyuu a moment to understand the question.
"I... Wha- You- I said if you liked me, only," Giyuu stuttered, struggling to comprehend what exactly had happened.
"I do," Sanemi said.
"But... what? How? What?"
Sanemi rolled his eyes. "Do you want to be my boyfriend or do you want me to slap you?"
Giyuu grew quiet again. "Fine."
"Fine what? Because if you don't clarify, I'm going to assu-"
"We can date," Giyuu interrupted, averting his eyes. "If you want it too."
Sanemi smiled. "There. That wasn't so hard, was it?" Then, abruptly, he kissed him. It was fleeting, but it felt like an eternity of bliss, somehow, and Giyuu longed for it again when he pulled away.
Sanemi stood, moving back to give Giyuu room. "Alright, now go back home and take care of your leg. Don't keep injuring yourself and being idiotic."
Giyuu opened his mouth to say something, then closed it, unsure. He stood and walked to the door. Sanemi saw him out, watching him leave.
Then, once outside, Giyuu turned back and walked back to the door. "Can you kiss me again?" he asked tentatively.
Sanemi raised an eyebrow. "Want a good-bye kiss?"
Giyuu lifted a shoulder. "Is that bad?"
"Not at all." Sanemi leaned forward and pressed a kiss to Giyuu's lips, moving back a moment later. "Bye, Tomioka."
Giyuu lowered his head in a quick bow. "Thank you."
Sanemi's mouth curved in a smile. "See you later."
"'Later," Giyuu agreed, walking back home.

Do you have any Ocs you’d like to talk about??
oh boy do i
im gonna introduce my scrungly my poor little meow meow my pathetic loser the love of my life. Arvid Sheldon Moreno <3
ill add trigger tags too of course but just in case: warning for abuse, violence, death, and kidnapping
first of all i am a Terrible artist but here's a commission i got of him from the lovely jester @/ghostcasket (with commissions still open here is the info post. go commission them he's wonderful)
Tumblr media
anyways. ARVID. basically he's a second generation oc from the project me and the other mod have. he is like. 3/4 alien?? something like that. but he was born on earth and that's where he grew up.
his parents are lovely and perhaps very strange but they are so good to their kids. Arvid is a mama's boy in particular he is very close to her and very protective of her.
so. what's wrong with him then???? surely he has Every Problem Ever. well he does. when he was a kid he didn't really have any friends. he was outcasted and bullied from various sources but none more so than Alex. fuck Alex we hate that guy.
Alex caused problems for Arvid basically his whole life. he was harassed and followed and beaten and manipulated and. well a lot of things!!
Arvid met and became friends with Izan who was infinitely better for Arvid and nicer and they were just really close. however that didn't stop Alex from being an asshole ya know. and it got even worse when Izan broke off from Arvid due to trying to manage his own trauma of a recent event unrelated to Arvid's stuff
so what did Arvid do? he clung to Alex and they became "friends". during this time Alex really drilled into Arvid's head the idea that he shouldn't cry, that he was weak, that no one else could tolerate him, and Arvid believed it all. things escalated until Alex and one of his other friends attacked and stabbed Arvid during a time when Izan and Arvid were trying to patch things up. and they left him there.
Izan got him help, but Arvid refused to let Alex get into trouble. in fact he had a strong fondness and loyalty to him and so what did he do? he confessed that he was in love with Alex. and Alex, ever amused and delighted by the power and control he had over Arvid, accepted his confession and they started dating.
and they didn't break up for a really really long time!
however this is all the backstory info! (well not all of his backstory but Some of it) this isn't even taking into account the story events! the story events being Arvid and his entire family gets kidnapped and taken to an alien planet because these fucked up brothers were trying to get and erase information on the esp experiments that happened during the first generation (meaning the things Arvid's parents went through) and. well long story short Dawson (does anyone remember when i talked about him?) was forced by his older brothers to kill Arvid and his mom. fucked up!!
but it's okay, isn't it? yeah Arvid comes back to life thanks to a wish made by Dawson on this super powerful wish granting magical rock. and they all live happily ever after on earth!
but not really.
when Arvid gets back he discovers that in addition to being brought back to life, he's now immortal. which is the LAST thing he wants because he didn't even want to be brought back to life if he was being honest. and Alex being the wonderful person he is decides to use this to his advantage (basically isn't it fun to kill your boyfriend over and over while he remains blindly loyal to you? Alex seems to think so)
however Arvid has other relationship drama going on. he has feelings for soo many other people but didn't feel worthy enough to be in a relationship with any of them. why would anyone ever like him back ya know?
except a lot of them did like him back. a lot actually. and Arvid starts dating others and building this lovely little polycule of people who really and genuinely love and care about him. and it takes a long time, but eventually Arvid breaks things off with Alex and tries to be happy. key word being that he tries because sometimes he doesn't do a very good job of it. he's still got it in his head that he deserves to suffer and will go on self destructive spirals now that he doesn't have a boyfriend beating him to shit constantly anymore.
some fun facts about Arvid is that he's a supervillain. i mean not Really a supervillain but he's a loser and tells everyone that he's evil. type of guy to steal from large corporations but not from local places. but this is all evil deeds he swears it. he also has plans to take over the world which he only shares with people he really trusts. he's so lame <3
he's also extremely emotional and will cry really easily but. well due to Alex Reasons he will belittle himself for showing sadness. he is obsessed with people seeing him as strong when his 5'3 ass can't even open a pickle jar
Arvid is also very very soft and sensitive about bugs he loves bugs!!! they were his best friends back when he didn't have any friends and even now he still treats them so gently. it's a really cool contrast to his usual edgy personality.
also!! he has really bad luck all the time <3 constantly tripping over stuff and falling in puddles and breaking his phone and. other bad luck stuff.
anyways i hope you enjoyed my insane ramblings about my scrungy little guy

This is "Let's Drown Buck, Giving Eddie a Shooting Moment and Triggering a Buck Breakdown: An Updated Season 7 Speculation Based on Exactly One Picture Posted by The Props Department and The Voices In My Head"
Okay, so, my Buck will drown in season 7 spec is in its 3rd installment, you can read installment one here, this one has the drowning work as a climax for buddie in a sense, a mid-season or season finale situation, you can read installment number two here, this one is a climax for Buck to break, and now I'm gonna type out a Buck drowning as a season premiere trigger. (You can go here to see all my Buck drowning thoughts)
So, this whole thing hinges on one thing: the fact that the show consistently mirrors Buck and Eddie's personal journeys, with Buck mostly being a few steps behind Eddie. I feel like we collectively got caught up in the way the lightning reminds us of the shooting, and we failed to notice the way the lightning is actually the well. The rain aspect, the night aspect, the team as audience aspect, the volunteering into the rescue that goes wrong over lightning, the way both of them are screaming, the moments of irrational action with the way Buck is trying to dig Eddie by hand and Eddie is trying to pull Buck up to him, the breathing thing with the way Eddie was about to drown and Buck's lungs weren't working, I think even the way Eddie saved himself and the whole concept of the coma dream can work here (here's a set for visuals).
We know Eddie didn't deal with any of his trauma until after the shooting, dude was very just move forward until he couldn't anymore. And one thing is true, you can draw quite a few parallels between the way Buck was acting in season 6 with the way Eddie acts in seasons 3 and 4. Up to the way you can draw direct parallels between Buck and Natalia to Eddie and Ana (here's a set for visuals), or the way he sounds like Eddie did with the just make the best of it, the way Buck is talking in the cemetery really reminds me of what Eddie tells him in kids today when he drops Chris off before the tsunami. And, well, let's face it, Buck hasn't dealt with any strong emotion ever and this man needs to break to move on with his life.
But, sure, how does any of this adds up to Buck drowning? Most of Buck's major traumas/near-death experiences involve water or breathing, the emergency tracheotomy on the first date with Abby, the blood clots in his lung, the tsunami, the well, the warehouse fire, the lightning leading to damage in his lungs (here's a set for visuals) also, Bobby nearly drowned in the plane crash, he got caught with Chris in a tsunami and then Chris falls back into the water, Eddie nearly drowned at the well, Maddie walked into the ocean, I think even the bathtub incident with Jee, creates this pattern of water hurting Buck or people Buck loves. So water is a common trauma factor here.
Why is this important? When you look at the shooting, there are a lot of things that make it as intense as it is: it happens by chance, it's a case of wrong place/wrong time, they're not supposed to be there but they are because Eddie got called there specifically, Buck has to save Eddie alone because they are there with another house and Buck doesn't trust anyone else, and it brings up a previous trauma for Eddie. I also wanna add the fact that, like it or not, Eddie is that attached to what's happening to Charlie because it makes him think of Christopher, at least on some level. So having Buck drown covers the previous trauma thing and it's very easy to make it happen by chance. So let's work out the rest of it, shall we?
Season 6 ends with Bobby and Athena finally going on their honeymoon cruise. I know I'm not the only one sitting here chanting *cruise disaster* because of that, because let's face it when does anything ever go right for anyone on that show. But the props department posted this picture of life vests. Also, one of the writers posted a picture of a script where you can read the word boats. The speculation of something is gonna happen in that cruise writes itself. Add in the fact that people don't know bathena are on the cruise to begin with and you have a GREAT season premiere disaster in your hands. (I don't really wanna bring up Grey's Anatomy here even though a lot of this has me thinking about 3 Grey's episodes, but if you've seen the show, think the ferry boat crash/Meredith drowning arc in season 3)
That means we have a whole ass ocean to drown Buck in while responding to that. Because what's another thing that keeps trying to kill Buck? That's right, city equipment.
Okay, so back to the shooting elements, wrong place/wrong time, they're not really supposed to be there, another crew, previous trauma, no one else they trust around. Not really supposed to be there/got called there directly can be cloudy, but it could just be a "we're going because it's Bobby and Athena's ship". So that's down. Another house, well, a call in that scale would have multiple houses, them getting separated is expected, so that's down too. Previous trauma, Buck getting trapped under something, Buck almost drowning, water, beaches as a whole, all cover that. Wrong place/wrong time, I keep going back to equipment malfunctioning in some way. Maybe they're lowering Buck somewhere and it gets loose, a harness breaking, the oxygen tank stops working, that's something that can happen by chance and create a situation that triggers a past trauma for Buck.
Okay, so we have a lot of elements at play here let's get to the actual vision.
At first, when I saw the life vests, I actually thought about this all happening while they try to save Bobby. They find Bobby, they get Bobby out, Eddie is working on him because he's the one with medical training, it takes him a moment to notice Buck hasn't resurfaced, then he dives back to go get Buck, mostly because that could have some fun implications on the dynamic between the 3, especially if we go to a situation where Buck could've gotten himself out but doesn't, a situation where Buck stops trying, also because I think Buck believes dying for someone he loves is the way to go, so dying for Bobby would be fine with him, but it wouldn't be fine with Bobby or Eddie, and Eddie not dealing with saving Buck's life again could absolutely redirect those feeling towards Bobby because he can't get mad at Buck for dying, so that could create some fun tension.
BUT, if we see Charlie as a surrogate for Chris, to have the situation be triggered by a stranger that reminds Buck of someone he loves, Maddie, Bobby, not Chris because then Eddie would also be irrational in the situation, Eddie is the one that gets reckless when children are involved, could be fun.
So vision: Buck and Eddie are paired doing water rescues or something, they spot someone, that someone brings a more extreme reaction from Buck, I will say he thinks the stranger is Bobby for convenience over the fact that this whole thing is happening on a cruise Bobby is supposed to be in, but it doesn't have to. They go through with the rescue, because again, the thing they went to do is done when Eddie gets shot, something goes wrong, Buck gets pinned down (I don't love the idea of Buck just stopping swimming, I like the idea of something he could get out of if he tried hard enough but he doesn't have it in him to keep struggling, so pinned down it is, also because that brings up the truck bombing), Eddie doesn't notice Buck didn't resurface for a bit (that can also be fun considering the way Eddie is always the last to know, he was the last to see Shannon in the crash, he only found out Buck and Chris were in the tsunami once they were safe, he was the last one to look up at Buck after the lightning, so fun implications all around) just long enough for us to cut back and forth to Buck struggling and Eddie, then cutting to Buck stopping, then Eddie noticing Buck is not there and diving back in. Then we have the fun little aspects of Eddie saving Buck, dragging him out, Buck being unresponsive, desperate cpr, "you're not doing this to me again", Buck finally reacting, sitting up and coughing up water, if we're lucky him dropping back into Eddie and a nice little "I got you, I got you" if we're even luckier maybe some forehead touching or Eddie burying his face on Buck's hair (let Ryan's emotional power out for a spin yk?).
Implication of this for Buck, Eddie, and buddie could be fun. Because you can have Buck spiraling over the fact that almost died again and he was actually okay with it for a while there, kickstarting a breakdown era, because he thought dying was supposed to give him some peace because of Levi and the whole happiness convention thing, and some fun parallels with 5b Eddie. We can have Eddie spiraling over the situation because he had to save Buck again, and Buck is not dealing with it so he's not dealing with it because they don't talk about what it's like being the one doing the saving. And Eddie is already pulling back from Buck, to have this create a real gap between them is easy as hell. And since I'm a "the shooting was Eddie's oh! moment truther" and I'm a believer that Eddie is fully aware of his feelings and just thinks Buck will never feel the same, to throw that energy on Buck would interesting. Just have Buck dealing with having his oh! moment in a very inconvenient moment and with the fact that Eddie is pulling away from him while he spirals.
Do I actually believe any of this is gonna happen? No, no I don't. But I will share the thought on the off chance it does so can get the bragging rights lol.
I will tag @slowlyfoggydestiny because we were talking about this the other day and her inputs helped a lot while I was trying to work out how to make the drowning a trigger, and also because she's been here with me through the whole "let's drown Buck" conversation 🫶.
If you read this I love you 🫶🫶

I'll make a separate post for all of my thoughts (because I have a lot), but I'd like to thank all of you. This has been such an amazing experience, being able to tell a story from start to end. This has been a lot of firsts for me, first fic, first serious writing, first time I reach the end of any long form story I made.
Each and every one of you reading, liking, reblogging and commenting made this ride that more enjoyable.
Now, it's time we finish it, with the longest chapter yet.
Its name on AO3 will be "Together."
All that could be heard in the small room were crackling flames. For a while, they just stared at each other.
“Revenants of light, huh…” Johnny whispers, fingers gently caressing Simon’s hand. He scoffs in disbelief, “I can’t believe we actually did it…”
Simon sinks into the flames hugging his skin, “did what?”
“Broke that prophecy. Lived. Fuckin’ created a new Reaper.” Johnny’s eyes shine, his voice full of reverence, “you think this was… a new deal?”
Heat strikes down, deep in his chest. “It would make sense… new Reaper, new powers…” Simon trails off.
“New death.” Johnny grins lopsidedly, “looks like yer stuck with me ‘till the end, LT.”
“Till death do us apart, Johnny?”
His Sergeant laughs brightly, Simon grinning like an idiot under the mask. Johnny takes his other hand in his, donning a more serious expression.
“Ye are Blood of my Blood, and Bone of my Bone.” he recites slowly, eyes not moving from his. Simon inhales sharply.
“I give ye my Body, that we Two might be One.” his heart beats like a war drum, strong and heavy.
“Johnny…” he doesn’t recognize the lines, but the meaning expands beyond cultures.
“I give ye my Spirit,” he lifts a hand to cup Simon’s cheek, “’til our Life shall be Done.”
Simon leans in, resting his forehead on Johnny’s, chuckling in incredulity, “you’re fuckin’ mental, Sergeant.”
The Scot hums, nudging his head, “thought ye knew that already, mo chridhe.”
Fuckin’ hell, his heart won’t stop beating so loudly. Simon knows Johnny was half joking but…
But still his heart strives to etch the words into his rib cage. A vow seared into their very flesh, marked by forces beyond their comprehension.
An oath, so powerful it joins not only their lives, but the lives of otherworldly horrors, being who do not care for such things as human connection.
And yet, it is that very thing that changed the course of destiny, in a way not even Reapers could predict.
Simon leans close, to the man he calls home, a hearth to never be extinguished.
And he feels safe. He feels… complete.
When they finally leave the room, the air outside is considerably colder. The safe house is quiet, in a way it can’t be, for the amount of soldiers it contained before Johnny dragged Ghost away.
He catches the attention of a passing Vaquero, and the man tells him most have left for the base, as it was liberated once Graves died. He also informs them their teammates are waiting outside by the vehicles.
Price and Garrick smile at them knowingly when they reach the armored truck.
“Bloody hell, finally! What took you two so long??” Gaz kicks off the side of the truck to scowl at them.
Ghost squints, face heating up, “none of yours, Sergeant.”
Gaz opens his mouth, but Price pats his back, “we can argue in the damn car. I need a fuckin’ shower.”
The Sergeant instantly forgets his previous grievances, and floats away to the passenger sit, “oh fuck yeah! I’m drooling just thinking about the bunks. You think Rudy would make us tea again if we ask really nicely?”
Soap swings the door open while shaking his head, muttering, “feckin’ Brits and their shite tea…”
Ghost slides besides him and cuffs him over the warhawk, “you better respect Parra’s tea in this car, Sergeant.”
Johnny rolls his eyes, unable to stop the smirk spreading on his lips, “what are ye gonna do? Report me to the king?”
“You little…” Ghost starts wrestling his Sergeant in the back sits, Price sighing deeply and turning the ignition.
When Soap somehow manages to kick the Captain’s headrest, jostling his hat dangerously, Price turns to glare at the two of them.
“You stop that, or I’m leaving you on the side of the road.”
They both immediately freeze, “sorry Captain.” Soap mumbles.
The truck is left parked between the others already on base, and the taskforce makes its way to the barracks.
Rudy finds them after a shower, smiling, “hermanos. Feeling better?”
Garrick is still drying his hair with a towel, “feel fuckin’ human, brother.”
Alejandro rounds the corner, laughing, “Rudy got something even better than a shower.”
“What’s that?” Soap asks. Price’s eyes fill with wonder, and Ghost already knows the answer.
Alejandro swings an arm around the Sergeant Major, “how does ‘Parra’s infamous tea’ sound like?”
Gaz cheers, floating up a few inches, while Soap grumbles disappointingly, “sounds like bloody heaven, Rodolfo!” Garrick reaches to pull the Vaquero into a hug, “thank you!!!”
Rudy pats the Sergeant, laughing, “it’s nothing, hermano. A little thanks for all of you, for helping us with Graves.” he looks over at Ghost, the two sharing a nod of mutual understanding.
Soap pouts, “feckin’ tea though…?”
Alejandro smirks confidently, “we also got some… shortbread, you call it?”
Now that puts a spark in Johnny’s eyes, “ye all are saints, Alejandro.”
The Colonel laughs loudly.
They meet Commander Karim and Keller on their way out, duffle bags slung over their shoulders.
Farah smiles warmly at the Captain, “ah, Price. Glad I could find you before we leave.”
“You’re already going back to Urzikstan?”
The American sighs, “yep. The Vaqueros volunteered to search for any of our people, but currently we need to go back to protecting whoever we still have.”
“Graves may be dead, but this is far from over.” Farah looks over the serene hills surrounding the base, “as much as I want to get Shepherd, I cannot let myself be blinded by revenge.”
Ghost understands the sentiment. Revenge is a fuel, what you put it into could make or break your reality. “When we find him, we’ll make sure you’re there to take it.”
Farah nods, perceptive eyes landing on his, “I appreciate it, Lieutenant.” she turns to the rest, “thank you for everything. God willing, we will meet on better times.”
Price wraps a hand around her shoulder, making Ghost realize just how small the Commander is compared to him, “stay safe, Farah.” he winks at Alex, “make sure she takes breaks from time to time, will you?”
Keller laughs, “you know not even I can do that. Cya around, Cap.”
As the two walk away, Garrick mumbles, “think they’ll be alright without Graves supporting them?”
Price sighs wearily, eyes somber as they track Farah and Alex’s form, “they’ll have to be.”
They say their goodbyes to the Vaqueros, with a hopeful note to work together in the future, and get ready to board a plane to England. After a few hours, where the team took time to fix their undoubtably horrid stench and growling stomachs, and got to sleep (Soap dragged him to a sofa to nap, and Ghost will forever deny it was the best sleep of his life), Laswell called.
Ghost initially prayed they’re not being sent to another mission, in a way he never did. To his credit, the last few months were absurd.
She didn’t contact them for work, instead inviting them to stop by for a drink before they all leave for the UK. The promise of a good drink had them instantly agree.
The flight is spent mostly sleeping, again, as they were all incredibly tired, bone deep fatigue, emotionally and physically.
Garrick made sure to make his annoyingly aching shoulder everyone’s problem, complaining he couldn’t find a good position to rest in, until the Captain showed mercy and let him float around the cabin, leg held fast by Price.
Kate greets them warmly in a little bar hidden within Chicago’s winding alleys. Their drinks have been ordered beforehand, and everyone makes their gratitude known by taking a sip and melting into the bar sits.
Laswell smiles knowingly, letting them relax before starting, “this has been quite a ride for you boys, huh?”
Price sighs, “you can say it again.”
The CIA agent shakes her head morosely, “they got past us.”
“Well, they had a head start.” the Captain lifts his drink, “to cutting heads off snakes.”
Laswell clinks her cup with his. Ghost joins their conversation while they take the toast, “any sign of Shepherd?”
The woman puts the drink back on the counter, “totally off the grid.”
Gaz looks down at his whisky, frowning in conviction, “we’ll find him.”
“No,” Laswell answers, Garrick locking eyes with her, “we’ve got bigger fish.” she glances at Soap, “I did some digging on the Russian experiments.”
“That’s a dirty job if I’ve heard one”, Price mutters under his breath.
“Ultra-nationalists are after the fabled ‘revenant-killer’, John.” Price shakes his head minutely at the words.
“Kate,” he says lowly, “this is over.” almost begging her to let his boys rest.
“No. It’s not.” she ignores his pleas, as do all Reapers above and below. “They’re working with someone new.”
She pulls out a picture and shows it to Price, his expression instantly morphing into shock, and then cold rage.
Ghost tries to ask the Captain what he’s seeing, but he doesn’t need to.
Price points at the photo, “...he’s not new.” and passes it to Gaz.
Garrick’s brows furrow at it, glancing at the Captain questioningly before passing it over to Johnny.
Soap takes one look at the image, his smile lines deepening as his fingers singe the edges of the photo.
He slides it to Ghost, hand lingering, eyes full of uncertainty.
Ghost flips the picture, and his heart hardens.
“Who is he?” Laswell asks Price.
The Captain leans in to almost whisper, “Makarov.”
Laswell tilts her head, and Price continues to talk in their minds, “the Kastovian deserter, Konchar? He didn’t leave the military for no reason.”
Flames crackle threateningly under the bar, Ghost sliding a hand over white fire.
“He worked for Makarov?” Soap growls.
Price nods, “your Reaping took his work years back, but if what Laswell says is true…”
“He’s back.” Ghost finishes.
Johnny’s hand squeezes his, and they make eye contact.
It’s never really over, is it? Some say they’ll rest when they’re dead. Their harsh reality is that they’re not even granted that.
Blue eyes reflecting flames, as well as one floating man with a warm smile, and a reassuring voice in his mind, promise him that while yes, they may never rest, it does not mean they’ll fight alone.
Together, until death, as it brought them to each other, takes them away.
Soap is furious. They leave the bar not soon after, his Sergeant walking away as they say their farewells to Laswell.
On the flight back, he’s all uncontrollable energy, waiting for ignition to blow up.
Ghost, after 20 minutes of watching Johnny bounce his leg enough to wear a hole through the damn floor, places a hand to stop his movements.
“Talk to me, Johnny.”
Soap’s eyes stay full of rage for only a moment, before softening, “I’m thinking… maybe it wasn’t coincidence that me and Konchar were in Verdansk at the same time.”
Ghost hums for him to continue, drawing nonsense patterns on his thigh.
“What if I was an experiment, Simon?” Johnny looks away, his eyes fogging with memories, “what if Makarov knew Konchar had to kill me to live, and wanted to see if I could. If I was destined to be a revenant killer?”
“It doesn’t matter.” Ghost grounds. Johnny looks unconvinced, so he continues, “whatever you were destined to be… you’re not it anymore. We’re both changed men.”
Johnny stares at him with more emotions than Simon can contain, reverence and trust and… something he can’t name.
“You… how could I tell you how much I adore you?”
Simon’s heart, gut and head, all line in decision for once in his life.
Actions speak louder than words, he remembers. And so, he rolls up the mask up above his brows, and leans in.
Gently taking hold of Soap’s nape, he directs his head to his face, pressing a touch of lips to his temple.
Simon whispers in his ear, “I already know. I look at you, and I can’t explain what it does to me. What you do to me, love.”
Johnny closes his eyes, inhaling deeply. He looks almost conflicted, but the creases smooth over when Simon brushes lips over them.
“You mean everything.”
Price ordered him to his office the moment Ghost stepped foot on British soil. He glanced at Johnny, who was carrying his and Gaz’s bags. His Sergeant promised with a lopsided grin he’ll find him later, a sort of scheming glint in his eyes.
Ghost reaches the Captain’s office in record time, hoping to finish whatever this is as fast as possible.
Price, however, didn’t get the damn memo, and takes his sweet time settling into his chair. “How are you doing, Simon?”
Ghost surpassed the urge to roll his eyes, “good.” he gets the mental image of begging on his knees for Price to get to the point, and the Captain laughs.
“Alright, alright. I’ll spare you the suffering, Lieutenant.” Price’s smile slowly fades, “what happened with your Reaper, son?”
Right. He and Johnny may have forgotten to mention the new developments in the ‘Eldritch horrors beyond this world’ department.
“Our Reapers merged. They called themselves ‘Reaper of Luminary’.” Ghost huffs, “they told me and Johnny… we’re linked. We’ll live and die together.”
Price nods. He doesn’t seem too surprised, and Ghost wonders how much he already knew from his passing thoughts.
“I don’t know how long we would be able to keep it quiet…” he strokes his moustache, “this gets out, you two will have a target on your backs.”
Ghost straightens, hands behind his back at rest, “we’ll handle it, if it comes to that, sir.”
The Captain sighs, “I admire your confidence, Lieutenant, but I don’t think you understand the scale of the issue. You two are the first revenants in modern history to affect the Reapers the way they affect humans. We believed our connection was a one way street - that humans are simply too weak to change Reapers.” his stare is severe, “you however? You’re powerful enough to not only go against them, but physically mold them. What Makarov is after is nothing compared to the force you hold.”
Ghost closes his eyes. Price is right, of course. But…
He has faith. Hope.
Price’s moustache twitches, “...I understand.” he raises from the chair, walking around to place a hand on Ghost’s shoulder.
“I’m happy for you, son. You and Soap make a good team.” the Captain’s eyes crease with mirth, “I heard your conversation on the plane-”
“Fuckin’ hell Price, that was bloody private!” Ghost scoffs, embarrassment coursing through him.
“I stopped listening after the first ‘love’-”
Ghost drags a hand over his eyes, “just get on with it”
“As I’ve told you, you have my blessing. If you need anything, if anyone gives you trouble, don’t hesitate to come to me, got it?”
Ghost scoffs despite the threat of tears in his eyes. He looks at Price now, and sees much more than a Captain. He sees something he has never had.
“Copy.”
It’s not Johnny that finds him first, but Garrick, floating around the hallway in front of Price’s office.
“Need the Captain, Sergeant?” Ghost inquires.
Gaz stops, “no, I got a message from Soap.”
His interest instantly piques, “go on.”
Garrick rummages through his pocket with his healthy hand and pulls out a note, “he said ‘meet me here’, and that you should ‘clean up’.” the Sergeant wiggles his eyebrows, “sounds like he has a nice surprise for ya, sir.”
Ghost takes the note, examining the location. Looks like a street in the city neighboring the base. “I’m off then. Don’t get into trouble, Garrick. Cheers.”
Gaz frowns, pointing at his injured arm, “not like I bloody can…”
Ghost smiles while walking away, “if anyone could find a way, it would be you Sergeant.”
He chuckles lowly at Gaz’s fussing as he makes his way to the base’s parking lot.
The sun has started to set by the time Ghost reaches the location Soap left for him, the sky painted reds and oranges and yellows that remind him fondly of Johnny’s radiant fire.
He changed into a more casual outfit, covering his face with only a cloth mask and a hoodie.
Ghost’s lips stretch so much he fears they’ll get stuck like that, when he spots the place. An elegant sign hangs above a restaurant, one that looks small and cozy, with dimmed warm lighting, and plants covering the brick walls.
He parks the car nearby and walks in, a waiter catching his stare and approaching him.
“Are you uh… ‘Ghost’?” he says with hesitation.
Ghost scans the tables, trying to find one warhawk sticking out, “affirm.”
The waiter sighs in relief, “your partner is already here. Follow me.”
The man leads him to a more secluded area, a low wall separating it from the main room. Ghost feels his heart thrum a familiar beat when he finally finds Johnny, sitting alone in a table for two.
“Your orders will arrive soon, please make yourself at home.” the waiter gives him a wobbly smile, and Johnny chuckles at the man practically running away.
“You really do have quite the effect on people, don’t ye Simon?” his Sergeant smiles.
Simon huffs, sitting down in front of him, “what’s all this, then?” he nods to the restaurant.
Johnny leans in, taking his hand, “I promised I’ll treat ye nicely, to a good restaurant, didn’t I?”
“You remembered?” Simon blinks in surprise.
“Of course,” Johnny grins, “I also remember ye said ye will treat me equally.”
“Had a feeling this was too good to be true…” Simon sighs, mask covering his smile.
“Oi!”
Simon pulls the mask off, making Johnny snap his mouth closed, “thank you.” he smirks smugly at his Sergeant’s amazed expression.
“Fuck me, I almost forgot how beautiful ye are.” Johnny mumbles.
Heat spreads over his exposed features, Simon looks away, “guess I’ll have to remind you more often.”
“Oh, please! I won’t ask fer anything else!”
Simon glances back at him, “we both know that’s fucking bullshite, Sergeant.”
Johnny laughs, tugging at his hand, “aye, ye know me too well.”
They quiet down to a comfortable silence, grins fading to soft smiles.
“Whatever comes next…” Simon inhales, grasping Johnny’s hand tighter. “We’ll do it together, love.”
Johnny lets his white flames caress Simon’s scarred hands, casting an otherworldly glow over them, making them shine as if lit from within.
If his heart could, it would be brighter than the sun now.
“Together.”
The End.

I feel like 'Stay Soft' suits Yousano so much. First of all, Yousano went through so much in her life. Yet, she is a tough and strong female character. But she is also soft inside. Second, this an ISTP song. And guess what MBTI Yousano has? That right ISTP.
YESYES i agree!!! the other song I associate very heavily with her is Bag of Bones, but Stay Soft is veeerrryyyy Yosano coded it was the second song i had on my list for her.
Especially the chorus:
You stay soft, get beaten Only natural to harden up You stay soft, get eaten Only natural to harden up
I think this shows her experience in the war very well and the way that the repitition and forced exposure forced her to close herself off at a very early age. It reminds me of the way she slowly looses hope while under Mori, starting as a starry eyes little girl who wants to help and ending up basically snapping and never wanting to use her ability again. Its why we never really see her as very emotive/empathetic in the series - shes learned against being like that to save herself the pain of losing someone like how she felt for Tachiharas brother, its a defense against loss and pain. The first time we ever really show much emotion/rage truly is w her confrontation with Mori. Before that point she was always very stoic.
I think this song reflects her really well as you said its in line w her personality type, and imo the first verse really reflects the objectification she went through, only being valued for her ability and not much else beyond that.
"It glints in your eye It's why I've arrived, your sex god Here to take you where You need to go"
In the song mitski basically expresses how shes only there for others gratification and not her own, and i think in Yosano's context this matches with how she feels abt Thou Shall Not Die - thats the piece of her Mori wanted, he didnt care about her beyond that and thats something she takes to heart because it becomes her core identity until she meets ranpo and he tells her she can be more. Even past that i feel like she'd still feel that way somewhat because views like that dont leave easily. Plus how she was viewed as an angel vs mitskis "god" is very much a comparison i love, being put on a pedestal you dont think you deserve + the pressure to deliver always and the subsequent feeling of failure once you cant is veeery applicable to her character, both in her backstory at Tachiharas brothers death and in the present because its clear she feels a pressure to save the agency and keep them all alive no matter what even though its not neccesarily her responsibility to do that for people anymore.
BUT YEAHHHH!!! thank u for ur ask i rlly enjoyed u are so right !!!
Honestly Mitski x bsd is just a match made in heaven i love it bc they all have a song that fits and im just aAAAAAAA

qroier gotta be a witch of blood or heart or something like that for him to befriend and try to get with as many people as he does 😭
yeaaah - a lot of the answers so far are that he's at least a heart player tho i do remember someone suggesting blood player Roier and (while i cant find the original tag anymore) i haven't stopped thinking about it since im TORN it's difficult >w<
q!Roier (from what I know) very much a people person and both heart and blood can be people-driven aspects. Thinking leaning more towards q!Roier being a Heart in the end, some characteristics of Blood feels a bit too formal and rigid. And Heart while it can also relate to people, come also with empathy, passion and bias.
(i'm rambling) Now, we already have another Heart Player q!Slime (not an issue btw) tho the beauty of what makes them such different heart players is their relationship with the Self their aspect. While one struggles with the self and becomes their own downfall (q!Slime, Heart is the Goal); the other is able to become attuned with it and use that self to his advantage (q!Roier, Heart is the tool) -- And I think that difference is very cool >:>
[Classpect cont. undercut I talk too much]
Class-wise I'm reading through the suggestions and we got pretty strong arguments here:
>WITCH OF HEART: One who manipulates with Heart Witches of Heart are able to control people's natural instincts and desires - and omfffg I can definitely see that not just with the amount of guys he flirts with but also his (well Melissa's) occupation as both a psychologist and a stripper - both jobs btw managed to successfully get information from qQuackity ToT. Witches aren't just able to control people's emotions but themselves if they put their mind to it. Idk how true that is to Roier but I feel it's relevant.
>MAGE OF HEART: One who understands with Heart Mages will uniquely experience their Aspect, both good and bad. I like Roier :] I like how he puts himself into situations :] His draw to a lot of the problems going on between the island and its community making him vulnerable to making said situations quickly feel personal to him (that's not bad he's just emotional). I think of Roier's reaction to Tilin's death crying out "SHE WAS MY KID TOO" - even if Tilin was not assigned to Roier and q!Jaiden the pair spent so much time with them, they treated her like one of their own. And this was early on, wayy before the families were as close as they are now. Iconic tbh. I'm reading somewhere and I feel this quote describes him well "They can suffer from their own Leap-Before-I-Look tendencies as well, preferring to just hop right into the thick of something without really thinking it through fully first."
Both these classpects for q!Roier I like a lot equally either could work out - best down to people who know him tbh wwww.

So at the office, while he was away, Michael was basically considered to be a Threat™️ because everyone had wound up seeing or hearing about what had happened to Leitner. Elias being like “oh he just needs some time to work himself out” but in a weirdly sinister way does not help his case.
Jon eventually gets into his own bit of trouble because of the possibility that he could have been an accomplice, has to run away like he did in the original series.
Actually, Michael’s not fully considered a threat by anyone… not anyone who actually knows him, at least.
Melanie’s opinion? Yeah, he was a little weird when she gave her statement to him. Probably evil.
Tim? He’s not responding to anyone’s questions at the moment, and you can kindly fuck off. (Michael saved Sasha’s life with the worms, but he’s not gonna tell the police that he thinks Jon maybe did it instead with some weird mind controlling powers or something. They’ll think that it’s bullshit.)
Sasha’s… conflicted. He has been acting weird recently, but she’s not sure he’s actually evil, she’s actually pretty sure he’s just… stressed. People can change, though, so… she doesn’t really know what to think.
Jon’s. Um. Not there, but he’s SUPER sure the guy’s gone crazy and is killing people for sport.
Martin………………………………………………………….
“It’s… complicated? Probably.”
[CONTINUED BELOW oh you BET there’s more ehehehe]
Nikola, though… oh boy.
Two potential candidates. One of them’s rumored to not really know much of anything, and the other knows plenty. But while both have gotten strong, one of them’s going to be stronger.
Kicker’s that the potentially-stronger one probably won’t actually fit properly because he’s too tall. And he’s all twisted, so that won’t do at all.
So instead, she’s been talking to Jon about the gorilla skin, like in the original series.
Being a super creepy motherfucker and all that.
Y’know.
Anyway, Michael did not get anywhere near death, so Oliver didn’t have to go in and help out or anything, but… Elias has realized that michael keeps getting himself into situations where he nearly gets killed, and does not seem to handle them too well, so he’s experimenting and seeing if he can have Jon be a “backup archivist”, which i’m sure Nikola’s absolutely delighted by…
Still… Michael does get visited by some of the stranger’s gang eventually.
Just “checking in on our dear old archivist!”
(Michael does not feel comforted.)
(He is also not particularly thrilled.)
(Especially when she casually mentions not being able to use his skin in particular, because it “just wouldn’t fit right………….! You understand… don’t you, archivist?”)
He tries to burn her with the spiderweb lighter.
No wonder Jude Perry liked him a lot- (he’s actually now tried to set two things on fire because they were bothering him- but I haven’t posted the part where he yeets a lighter at the other thing yet lol-you’ll see)
Obviously, it’s ineffective… but it lights up her face for a moment before miraculously snapping shut upon hitting the floor.
Or… where her face should be.
Michael screams, his friend finally gets the lights working, and Nikola is gone.
…Fun!
OH HEY WAIT WHAT
Tumblr media
OKAY SO
If Michael gets this tape! (Which he definitely would, cause he would have completely missed everything.)
Obviously with a few edits!! But!!!!!!! That shit would just.
Like a goddamn jagged-edged sword getting shoved STRAIGHT through his torso, GOD that stupid bit of commentary would hurt so BAD-
Jesus, Elias, stop trying to make your archivist feel like a disposable paper bag that somehow managed to make it out of the landfill, the hell are you doing, man????
Michael’d probably just try and mirror-jump to Jude Perry or something and be like “hey, my boss is a sick bastard and I hate him, want to help?”
Not sure if I’m /j or /srs, but Martin might be on board lol
Michael’s having more and more trouble with the whole… mirror-hallway trap thing. Although, like with canon, he probably ends up figuring out a way to drag out the whole process of victims slowly kinda going nuts so that he doesn’t actually have to kill anyone, he can just… “bother someone” in order to keep things going.
Which actually winds up working better than the “drive em mad and then whoop there they go” method.
He doesn’t like how it feels, cause it’s basically making a bunch of people go through what Ryan went through, but he tries diffusing the messing-with across more than one victim in order to make it not be as horrible for each of them.
Oh, and on top of that, he still has to get statements.
Does Jon send him the statements he gets (and his own notes on them) after he’s done with them, so that they’re both on the same page with things? (And does it work..?)
And if so, does he get to hear the “dust to dust” one, finally?
Tumblr media
*Sound of Michael nearly popping a stress ball open with one hand*
(>:(((( Bruh Gertrude what the fuck)
AND HEARING HIS OWN VOICE ON THE TAPE…
Just rewinding and playing it over and over again. Just to hear it.
It hurts to know that his voice doesn’t quite sound the same.
He’s lost the stutter that he hated so much. He almost misses it.
Might actually mumble the words a little, in a half-hopeful attempt at getting his voice to sound like it did back then again. It works, for a moment or two, and in that little sliver of time, he feels like… himself again. Like Michael.
But he can’t hold it for long.
Still… it was there.
He was… there, somewhere. He wasn’t completely gone… so maybe there was still hope.
(HhhgfhhHhhHHHHHH I wanna hug him so badddddddddddddd aaaaaaaaaa 🫠)
Anyway, so Jon gets taken by Orsinov-
And the only reason Michael doesn’t pick up every time Elias tries to call him to tell him to get Jon is cause he’s got Elias’s number registered in his phone as “old sod” and just sits there pressing “decline” every time the phone starts ringing with that name.
It’s very fun to do.
However, eventually Martin’s the one who calls him, sounding a little bit panicked, and explains what’s going on, and Michael feels like an asshole, rushes out the door- (“hello good morning I’ve got to go get Jonathan out of situations he keeps getting in don’t kill me don’t get killed please don’t leave things on voicemail if they’re important, lesson learned, ohgosh bye-”)
So the Michael appears! No doom threat, just Michael apologizing for being “so incredibly late” and being like “oh good lord these are creepy oh sh- you’ve got a gag on- I’m very sorry-”
And he notices that Jon’s…. Looking at him, like… he wants to ask something, but doesn’t know if he should.
Michael… forces a smile, getting the feeling — based on the last tape he’d gotten from jon — that he knows what he wants to ask about. “Can we… t…t-“ oh, of course- and just at the moment he’d rather it not be an issue, here it was, again, in the way of him getting his words across. “It- I- We don’t- there isn’t much… much time to share… stories.”
“She won’t be back for-“
“I just don’t want to.”
He didn’t mean it to come out sounding so snappy, and winced a little at his own voice. “She…she’s just… a bit of a hard subject, as of right now…”
Jon looks a little bit… desperate, though, and it occurs to him that he most likely hasn’t been able to get any new statements in days.
If he were to go through the mirrors… he might not be able to keep himself together in there. Or he might get lost, or…
“Ask me.”
Jon blinks, looking a bit confused. “Didn’t you say you-“
“Yes, I know. It doesn’t feel good, but if you don’t-“ he takes a deep breath, and sighs heavily. “Please. Just… this once. And it’s all… good.”
…”What was she like?”
Oh, that question hurts.
A string of expressions pass across his face as he tries to think of the words for the things Jon wants to pull out of him. Needs him to let out.
“…different… she- she told me a lie.
I thought I knew… why she was who she was. Why I was… her… assistant.
I- but i didn’t. Really. She was cold… and… I just fell for it.
He takes another deep breath and sighs, but… no, it… isn’t done, is it.
It all spills out, like blood gushing from a deep, arterial wound.
He tries to twist it, to lessen the tearing sensation that the eye gives as it drags the information out of him, but it just… happens. The words aren’t quite his to control.
The Sannikov trip is the most painful to feel.
Once, it might have been a tale told in horror, of the near-death experience of his mentor, the old woman who fell over the side of a ship in the middle of a storm. About how he almost went insane, but that could have been a dream, and she had been saved, and then they had gone home again.
He told Jon all of this story, the statement riddled with sarcasm and frustration, and hurt.
And then he told… a different story.
The one he’d had in that vision, or dream, or nightmare- whatever it had been.
He told the eye what it already knew, and — in a way — begged it to answer him, instead. Tell him if he had just been… a pebble to be kicked into a trap so that it could be made safe to pass through.
He explained his fear that Gertrude had, in fact, killed one of her old assistants, a woman named Emma Harvey. She’d burned her alive.
And then he recounted his terror upon waking up in the office that one horrible night, when the doors had not been the right doors, and had nearly taken him and swallowed him and taken him apart.
How the fire had roared around him.
The rest of the story, Jon already knew, and so his talking should have ended there.
But he mentioned something he didn’t want to.
About how much Jon had reminded him of her, when they’d first met.
And with this revelation, the story ended.
At once, Michael slid to the floor, his whole body drained of energy, fighting to keep itself together.
It was not a moment too soon.
A door had opened behind him. A horribly familiar one, and as it loomed over Jon’s bound form and Michael’s barely stable one, a voice floated through the room, coming from the figure standing at its threshold.
“That was a very, very stupid thing to do, archivist.”

2023 manga list:
most of the manga i read this year. more or less around 90, but that's also counting short stories, and things i omitted.
bottom text.
beastars/beast complex [3/5] beastars as an action shonen (or a story anyway) is all over the place so don't get your hopes up to much on that front. beastars' main consistent strong point is being Horny and Weird. i've said that sometimes it doesnt compromise with the logical terms of its premise but exploring a variety of odd relationships is imo the most interesting and engaging element of it anyway.
chainsaw man [4/5] overall is a mostly normal shonen if you were expecting for something more alternative. to be honest a lot how you would feel about Pt 1 will be told by how you feel about having very consecutive character deaths, it can feel a bit rushed. but it is indeed a bit distinctive abt how it tackles the topic of intimacy/relationships esp predatory ones in jump-type shonen. can't complain too much on that front. fire punch [3/5] once the berserk-type edgyness aside on the story is aptly entertaining, tho by some stretches it can be disorienting plotwise, in a negative way. it drops Lots of plot points or rushes them... you can really grow to like some characters but there will be a point -you will know- that it just kinda disengages w you. Curious existential ending. good if you're bored.
golden kamuy [3.5/5] also more typical shonen-esque than i expected. it never gets That Much Dark imo, as in total slow downers i mean. although obviously it is 'dark' more on the bizzare part. fun characters.
kaze to ki no uta [4/5] to be honest it does live up to the reputation of making you generally emotionally Unwell. but on my experience the development of gilbert and serge grew more engaging than I expected. tragic banger. terra e... [3/5] also was more than i expected since the one time i tried with the anime i got bored 1 ep in. but the story and tomy as the mc also gave me more heartfelt emotions than I expected. the pacing and amount info conveyed can get exhausting tho. didn't care much abt the ending. natsu e no tobira [2/5] the ova is gorgeous so it has those points on its favour. otherwise the ova and the manga are almost identical. youth and death themes and all i did Nawt care abt that pedo woman. weird story to develop that shoujo theme abt allowing ppl to see your vulnerability but eh i'll take it.
YAMAMOTO: ichi the killer [3.5/5] frenetic and entertaining enough if you're willing to go through knowing the tw's. suprisingly fast to read. if you're looking for the yamamoto Experience, it's a must after hommunculus. voyeur/voyeurs inc [2/5] got awfully disappointed w voyeurs-inc; i got hooked on voyeur (ie the prototype) but the change of cast on inc was a total letdown. don't think it's worth reading of you're a ymmt casual. maybe just the prototype. okama report [0/5] don't even fucking bother. barely passable even for anybody that's very into ymmt. adam & eve [2/5] shit story, curious fights/interactions.
KATSUHIRO OTOMO akira [3/5] a lot of the military and persecution sequences get so annoying and boring sometimes but if you forget abt the adaptations it's a decent enough scifi-action thing. the movie is better at that. the relationship between kaneda and tetsuo- dont like rn to pit which of the two did it better, but from the movie to the manga it's deff not a letdown, especially for tetsuo that has a lot more time. he's interesting. domu [2.5/5] interesting action wise, but as for story I wouldn't bother. kanojo no omoide (memories of her) [3/5] ootomo himself said some of the stories are quite meaningless and nonsensical lol but if you've seen the Magnetic Rose ova you will like some of them. world apartment horror [3/5] 1st didn't care about. liked 2nd. 3rd i didn't get shit. 4th it was cute. visitors [3/5] liked it. short piece/short peace [3/5] i liked it. highway star [3/5] feels like that suicide episode of paranoia agent, that kind of humor lol. boogie wogie waltz [1/5] uncomprehensible. good weather [1/5] eh.
houseki no kuni [4/5] it isn't getting better, the tragedy doesn't stop it's not an understatement. whoa.
dorohedoro [3/5] entertaining seinen, tho sometimes it gets kinda confusing and convoluted. love the characters theyre fun :)
ajin [4/5]
i was surprised that it was a closed off story from what i expected coming from the anime haha. neat action panelling and art. I get the feel that some characters had more to give and develop, but not disappointing.
OSHIMI SHUZO flowers of evil [3/5] the romantic triangle didnt bother me as much as i expected. it is a weird manga know that up front. i'm inside mari [4/5] i quite liked it and was quite surprised abt that fact lol. blood on the tracks [4/5] good family drama at leaston my year'sranking; shuzo's art style does wonders and is v immersive. some said that it felt repetitive and while i can say at some point the went a bit ehhhh, but reading it all back to back instead of weekly i don't feel it's that draggy. backwards i think it could've used more chapters, or content rather. happiness [2.5/5] tbh got disappointed, kinda disperse. like half 1 and 2 don't have much to do... okaeri alice [2.5/5] some individual characters really do make the manga endurable but some bits from the main characters are so...? unnecessary, or unnecessarily long at least. not really shuzo's best work. avant-garde yumeko [-/5] odd.
NAGABE totsukuni no shoujo [4.5/5] i mean, for most of it that i can describe it well with heartwarming but bittersweet, about parent-child relationships, love, loneliness, sacrifice, it's pretty good at that. then It Gets You. monotone blue [4/5] refreshing bl, sweet, the art delivers and the sensitivity. and i say refreshing bl bc it's not weird abt sa or adjacent harrassment.
i read most of his shoujo works, but they're too many to mention if you liked totsukuni you will like them, nothing to lose. some uh moral objections on some..EAT [-/5] it's okay. if you don't mind horny furries. SMELL [-/5] errr..... ok.
RYO SUMIYOSHI/SUZURI MADK [2.5/5] good art as always. more fucked up background things as it goes on but the mako-J thing is kinda crayzay. it has some hasty character developments at important times... torso no bokura [2/5] also good art, nothing too upsetting if at least relative to MADK. kinda enjoyable and entertaining anthology.
NEMUI ASADA sleeping dead [3/5] imo asada's overall best work, or at least to beginners or if you plan to read just one of hers. since the translation of the work is not finished i don't wanna assume the ending, but the starting premise is interesting enough, although we're currently on a less eventful note plotwise which can feel a bit disappointing for the moment. my little inferno [1.5/5] not particularly interesting conceptually, or writing. madara moyou no yoi [1.5/5] noticeable premise for an asada work, it being more action oriented i mean, but it's still to early to say in execution. SKIN [1/5] what the hell. that's asada for everybody/ dear, my god [1/5] odd ending. didn't coincide with how the story was handling at least the preist, imo. i literally don't care about the cactus story. CALL [2/5] surprisingly not so harsh of an asada story. more of a normal kind of depressing bl. ai, sei [1/5] don't mind in any particular direction. loved circle [1/5] did not care for the setting. not as dark as you would expect but not particularly interesting either. whatever ending. to the sea [1/5] ...? that happened i guess.
hikaru ga shinda natsu [3.5/5] it's a manga that has earned a reputation and a set of expectations that (i haven't caught up w latest ch) that delivers on the visual and effective ambientation, but we're to see on the story but good so far.
double (noda ayako) [4/5] veeery expressive art from noda. if you let it be as a normal acting manga it can get you by surprise on some emotional beats. better go in with low expectations, different tastes and all.
my broken mariko [3.5/5] it's a short story, solid. gorg art that adds to the sorrow and bittersweetness.
gunjou [3.5/5] hmmm it can feel a bit repetitive the back and forth at several points of the story, depends of how you read that related to unstable relationships. i don't necessarily want to brand it mainly as a GL but all in all its still one of the most interesting entries on it, with a toxic relationship that commits to the complexity of the situation.
gunjou gakusho [2.5/5] a melancholic anthology with beautiful art. i got to like a pair of the stories.
omoide emanon/sasurai emanon [3/5] personally i preferred omoide emanon (the one the mangaka said was Twitter for people unfamiliar w emanon) and i prefer the lineal story tbh. sasurai ones can be hit or miss, some feel incomplete? or unconcluded. i mean sasurai was cancelled midway so.
bibliomania [2/5] cool art, intriguing initial premise and execution, but i didn't find it particularly interesting by the end part, like thematically.
banana bread no pudding [2/5] didn't care for the main relationship itself, but the protagonist ended up being more engaging than i expected. a mostly soft and bittersweet read, but i would wait ot read more of the author's works to say how recommendable i would rank it as.
petshop of horrors [2.5/5] the individual stories can be hit ot miss from one person to another but imo D is very consistently entertaining and likeable lol.
higashi nishida [2.5/5] not much consistency but they have a nice undertsated feeling personally :). some of its introspection catches you off guard. no high expectations though.
kodomo wa wakette agenai [3/5] it's a nice short story, it's funny if you don't come in expecting loud knee-slappers types of jokes. it's good if you're looking for something light to read.
she loves to cook, she loves to eat [3/5] also good if you're looking for something light to read.
tamen de gushi [3/5] wholesome as you would expect. nice art on later years. depends on your taste.
my solo exchange diary [4/5] actually liked and grew to appreciate the author's organized narration style. it avoids a lot of confusion and she verbalizes her feelings in a relatable way for somethings sometimes so awkward to say out loud.
seibetsu x [2.5/5] this one is much less organized temporally and thematically so it can get a bit confusing, but it's funny on it's own, since the author is very blunt on their feelings lol.
killing stalking [3/5] less Evil than i remembered, just as disturbing, just as mid ending as i remembered. maybe it's bc of being a reread -that helps pick some things better- but reading it out of the heat of the moment in its era it's not as ill intended or deliberately romanticizing as one might have led to believe; it understands that much at least. visually however, still often leans into more eroticism i call inappropiate and unncessary.
boy's abyss [2.5/5] it's a manga that drags and wanders aimlessly too much, it gets repetitive. there are some plots and elements i consider more consistent and interesting, like the family, predatory relationships and the town's seeming unescapability themes, but the suicidal thing gets a bit exasperating when it just goes nowhere. dont expect tooo much. kinda good to binge tho.
himegoto, juukyuusai no seifuku [2.5/5] if you see the premise i know it sounds kinda weird but as i said when i read it my only comment abt is that it's suprisingly more compelling than one would expect, if you dont question much the individual prompts. gets kinda heavy by the end w on character tho.
yuureitou [2.5/5] sometimes entertaining on an adventure mystery type thing. theme and writing quality varying for the first 2/3s, off it's shits by the third that's kinda ehh conceptually. read it for some crazy shit ending. trans-wise, on the mc side, well they're some consistently annoying things all throughout but technically good intentioned but the ending 1/3 is v transmisogynistic, heads up.
uzumaki [2/5] ito's art is good. didnt really get me going much but not hated reading it. didnt get the ending, or didnt like it a lot at least.
fetish, kaoru fujiwara [2.5/5] takes a turn in seriousness by the 2nd story. 3rd story is so 😖 err, and then the rest go down in tone again.
the view beyond, kaoru fujiwara [2.5/5] one of those wouldn't that be fucked up stories. like that sure happened. not precisecly im even a fan of the message of the premise, even if it's technically showing it's horrible results.
raise wa tanin ga ii [3.5/5] t'was funny. all in all, esp towards the last chapters their interactions turn more earnest, personally, than i expected.
crying freeman [2/5] major saving grace is the art, it's pretty good. dunno, it feels however you feel about edgy 007-type 80s stories. personally didnt care abt mafia-clan thing substainance plots.
devilman lady [2/3] lot's of SA till it gets a bit unbearable and boring, heads up. did not care about most of the plot itself but if you liked the og devilman characters, the mains of Lady have the same likeability. save from The Horrors of the end. -shin devilman [1/5] boring. don't lose nothing over not reading it. uh. that first chaper uh.... -amon - devilman mokushiroku [1.5/5] edgy in the usual way dvm is edgy in that usual measure,s o the story is nothing to die for lol. good art (save for Things) and cool visuals, body horror, etc more than anything. the silene storyline is the more interesting part, the other idgaf about. -neo devilman [2/5] it's an anthology. seeing different artist's takes is entertaining enough. usual dvm edgyness. -devilman saga [0/5] boring dear god. not one saving grace of entertainment even for a nagai dvm work.
tetsuo the bullet man [1.5/5] shot for shot as the third tetsuo movie. i liked the manga and its ending more than the movie's tho. not like the movie is good anyway.
dog ningen [1/5] don't let the premise scare you, it's pretty mild. and amateur. and boring.

Marvel Studios: Voices Rising - The Music Of Wakanda Forever [Series]
Tumblr media
Episode #2: “Mexico: Con La Brisa” [available on Disney +] [w/ time stamps to follow along]
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
▻ During the early stages, Ryan and Ludwig talked about how they can make this music [relating to Talokan] as authentic as possible. This brought them to Mexico City. Ludwig met with Camilo, the coordinator in Mexico City who helped put together musical sessions with artists. “I think the biggest challenge was for us to find musicians of our time who understood a little about what was happening in the Mayan Peninsula in the past. And there are very few specialists.” - Camilo Lara [Musician + Producer] [2:43]
Tumblr media
▻ We are introduced to Alejandro Méndez [from Grupo Tribu] who is “one of the greatest connoisseurs.” - Camilo Lara [Musician + Producer] [3:07] “Tribu is a group that emerged around the seventies. We initially started out doing rock. A type of fusion between rock and traditional Mexican instruments. A colleague and I from the group got a degree in archaeology and now we have the opportunity to access the excavations. There is a great legacy of information that is hidden or buried. That seems to us worthy of having these instruments also recovered, put back into circulation, because they are means of human expression.” - Alejandro Méndez [Musician] [3:20]
▻ Various Mayan instruments are played with such as, but not limited to: turtle shells, Teponaztli drum, seashells, “Flute of truth”, “Death whistle” and more. “People don’t know what the music sounded like. People don’t know exactly how the instruments were played. But we want to be as close as we could because we know what the instruments were [in the Codex].” - Ludwig Göransson [Composer] [4:08] Alejandro and various experts spent time with Ludwig experimenting with the sound of Mayan instruments and recording sound bites. These sounds eventually layed the foundation for the final score and parts of the soundtrack.
▻ “The seashell. I already knew we were going to use it because it was in the script. It is a big part of Namor’s character.” - Ludwig Göransson [Composer] [6:11] “Seashells being played like you would play French horns. And hearing a guy breathe through a seashell, sticking his hand in it. It’s like brash and bombastic, and confident and weird. It does something new to you. It’s also romantic. He [Alejandro] kind of played Namor’s sadness. It eventually evolved to playing his grandeur and the power of all of that with the sadness. The idea of things that hurt you or do damage to you, you can decide to let those be the things that make you strong.” - Ryan Coogler [Director] [6:29]
▻ The “Death whistle” has an arresting and unique sound to it. “This is how it has been named by accident, although it is not really a whistle that is dedicated to death. The wind blow of the wind is what generates life with an ancient Mexican mythology.” - Alejandro Méndez [Musician] [8:40] Ludwig loved the sound and wanted that to symbolize Namor’s power. We see that this instrument is used in the scene where Namor punches M’baku and shatters his breastplate, propelling him backwards [9:17]
Tumblr media
▻ “For me, this character [Namor] is demanding. We are reclaiming our origin. We’re talking about old grandparents, our old grandparents. And reconciling ourselves with that part. Doing this thing called techno futurism. Based on who we are, on our ancestors, on our grandparents. I think it’s a very important step because the stories you hear and literature and movies, and everything else taught us to be ashamed of who we are. And it’s time to stop feeling like this. The universe they built to sustain the story is very profound. It’s not just going to make it sound nice, but also give it meaning.” - Tenoch Huerta [Namor] [10:29]
▻ “Since Mayan is the native tongue in the movie, it’s just right that we also get Mayan speaking artists as part of the soundtrack.” - Ludwig Göransson [Composer] [11:32] We are introduced to hip hop artist “Pat Boy”. “All roads led us to a legend of hip-hop in Mayan named Pat boy. Pat has been essential for hip-hop in that area to grow, and above all, that it is sung in Mayan and with pride. He has a collective called Mayan DNA.” - Camilo Lara [Musician + Producer] [11:44] Their hip-hop track “Laayli' kuxa'ano'one” is an exploration of traditional and modern sounds.
▻ Ludwig catches up with actor Tenoch Huerta in his stomping grounds, and goes over recorded tracks with him in a studio. “Where did the Mayans go? Did they get on a UFO? No, they’re here. Where did the Aztecs go? Nowhere, we’re still in Mexico City. We need to start giving them a name and give them a face, and begin to give them a human sense. And stop putting them in museums so that they can be in popular imaginations, in current imaginations. So that they can be in fiction, on the screen, in books, in music, everywhere. And no longer be immovable statues you can’t talk about. No way. Because it’s us. Because we’re alive. And we didn’t go anywhere.” - Tenoch Huerta [Namor] [14:33]
Tumblr media
▻ It took Ludwig and Camilo some time to tailor down the list of artists they felt were the future of Mexican music, who felt fresh and with an edge. Morning recording sessions were spent with traditional artists [ie. musicians, instrumentalists] and night sessions with contemporary artists [ie. singers, rappers, etc] “I didn’t dedicate myself to music as a child, nor did my family. At the age of 18, I found out that there is a career in music production in Monterrey. A classmate heard me sing and told me ‘you sing really nice, let’s make some music’ and that’s how I started.” - Foudeqush [Artist] [16:47] Ludwig sat down with Foudeqush and discussed writing a song that is based off of the Sun [thinking about when Namor shows Shuri the world of Talokan]. Ludwig played with sounds as she wrote melodies and prompted her to “Write as if you’re trying to describe the Sun to someone who has never seen the Sun.” - Foudeqush [Artist] [17:18] The track “Con La Brisa” was born. We learn that this track was written and recorded before either one of them was able to watch the official Talokan tour scene, which made this creation even more special.
▻ “With the first film, although there’s some brilliant women, that film was very much from a male perspective. And this film shifted that when Chadwick passed away. We made the decision that it’ll be Shuri’s story. And after that, it became clear that this was going to be a movie about mom’s flat out, through and through. And that was exhilarating for me. It represented a new opportunity to reflect on a very profound human relationship that frankly, there’s not enough movies about.” - Ryan Coogler [Director] [19:25]
▻ Ludwig met with artists Vivir Quintana and Mare Advertencia Lirika. Vivir’s song “Canción Sin Miedo” became an anthem for the feminist movement in Mexico and after listening, Ludwig was immediately struck by “her vocals and her voice and the confidence she had in her voice.” - Ludwig Göransson [Composer] [20:27] “It’s [the musical scene] still plagued by violence in Mexico. One of the things that saddens me is that despite us women succeeding in music, we have to make protest music. I think that there’s a lot of visibility lacking towards music made by women in Mexico.” - Vivir Quintana [Musician] [20:49] Ludwig had both Vivir and Mare sing and rap over a track, experimenting with the emphasis on their voices. “I am used to having to scream at the world in order to be heard. And this song implies that challenge. If we’ve always been yelling, how do we also negotiate with our voice now? I don’t need to yell. I don’t need to speak in a loud voice to consider my words valuable.” - Mare Advertencia Lirika [Artist] [22:48] The collaborative track “Árboles Bajo El Mar” sparked ideas of transformation and was eventually used during the scene of Namor’s birth.
Tumblr media
▻ We learn that Tenoch Huerta’s father practically forced him into acting workshops when he was younger. He enjoyed it a lot but having no representation in Mexico of actors with darker complexions, he didn’t have high hopes of becoming an actor. He wondered why his father pushed him in this direction and “My dad said ‘I saw something in you.’ And that’s it. I don’t know what he saw or didn’t see. But he saw me. And that’s what was important. Imagine everything I owe to him. When I was a child, I never saw myself on screen. And that’s what I hope for. That boys, and girls, children, don’t feel so alone. That they know that there was never anything wrong with them. What was wrong was the eyes that were seeing them. I want them to be able to dream. I want this character to make them dream. If I can do that, I wouldn’t ask anything more from life.” - Tenoch Huerta [Namor] [28:29]

Okay so here’s some more substantial kfp4 thoughts/opinions (Kung fu panda 4 spoilers!)
-
Overall, as a movie experience, I mean, I didn’t have high hopes going in. I carefully kept my expectations low, so it wasn’t like, a complete and total disaster imo but it certainly had its issues. I was someone who sincerely enjoyed the third movie and didn’t actually really mind the third movie’s pacing, and while the third movie showed certain cracks of lowering quality, they could be looked past well enough. Like, for me, the final fight/villain showdown etc with Kai in the third movie, him getting beaten by Po, etc, was all narratively really satisfying to me and I was chill with the pacing for it. This most recent movie was like, kind of decent in parts… but fell apart towards the end with the villain confrontation scene and takedown. I was fine with movie 3’s pacing but this one’s was off. While 3 was narratively satisfying to me, 4 wasn’t. There was insufficient build-up, and so much of it felt unearned. The final confrontation was too quick for me, it was just… not great. Didn’t really pack the same punch that 3 did for me.
As for them bringing past villains back… man.
What was Kai even doing there. Like, my understanding of 3’s ending is that Po obliterated him within the spirit realm, thus utterly erasing him from existence entirely. You could make an argument for him just being like, kaplowey’d into spiritual Bits which could eventually make their way back together again hence him coming back into existence, but uh yeah… His presence in 4 actually cheapens the final confrontation in 3 for me. Because Kai getting “destroyed” in 3 had this sense of finality to it. Death in general just feels cheapened – I know that the Spirit Realm =/= Heaven, and it’s only kung fu masters who go there, but like, if you keep bringing these characters back + even Kai’s death wasn’t permanent, it just feels kinda ???
I can imagine that Tai Lung fans would be annoyed with this movie, what with how he was teased (being on the poster and everything!) I was actually cautiously optimistic for a little while before seeing the movie about how Tai Lung’s role would be handled, but no. It felt off, and like, if they were gonna bring back the character, I really do think he should have played a greater role. He just feels like set dressing/weak fanservice and imo didn’t add much. His presence is/should be a big deal and it felt kiiind of cheap to me, idk. I just wish it was handled better. On learning that he + the others got their kung fu abilities taken away thus rendering them useless, that was a fun idea to me – it would render them quite ‘harmless’ and put them all out of sorts. I would have loved to see more of Tai Lung and/or the others struggling with the simple fact that their abilities have been wiped and they’re kinda ‘helpless’ (I mean, in the case of characters like Tai Lung, their still strong and imposing, but have none of the actual kung fu moves). I was misled into thinking Tai Lung would be ‘tagging along’ with Po or something like that within this movie, and while I was on the fence/worried about how it would be executed, none of that even materialised anyway. Why was he on the poster he was barely in the film and given so little to do…
Like. Seeing e.g. Shen there was just jarring as well cause he’s just There. He doesn’t do anything. And apparently he was a late addition to the film like they slapped him in there last minute and I’m just like. hm
THE VILLAINS BOWING was very egregious to me. I call bull. Unearned. Out of left field. They WOULDN’T! And even if they would. It was absolutely not sufficiently set up for THAT kind of payoff. You need to put in WAY more work to even try pull something like THAT off. Yeah, they were annoyed by their treatment from the Chameleon. They would be ‘grateful’ to be saved by Po or w/e but even THEN. I cannot see it. I was in utter disbelief when that happened I was just like… there’s no way. I saw Masha talking about how Shen would ‘never’ bow like that and I agree 100% I’m just like… Hello?
Again… For me personally the Tai Lung stuff just felt kinda awkward and unearned. Like, if they wanna do that, they gotta give him more screentime. They gotta give him more stuff to DO. Let him get free somehow and briefly fumble/awkwardly try to help out Po in the absence of his kung fu abilities idk (the enemy of his enemy is his friend, etc etc, he’s fed up with the Chameleon so he wants her taken down, and so on). Of course, part of this stuff comes down to the movie’s short runtime + poor pacing. And if it’s true that this was done very intentionally because ‘kids can’t watch long movies’ then man that is just so depressing to me. This movie badly needed a longer runtime and it could have done so much with it.
Okay random positive thing to end this off... I love the whole deal/concept with a building like, on the edge of a cliff and w/e and the lampshading of how much of a bad idea it is amused me (but tbh I do think there are in-universe reasons, like, the 'danger' aspect of it is part of the appeal/point of its establishment in-universe as well). I'm a sucker for fight scenes that make use of the idiosyncracies of the surrounding environment so that's always gonna be a plus for me.
The villain lady was cool she had a nice imposing atmosphere. I like her voice
It was like, not a disaster. It was fun. it amused me. But it wasn't satisfying in a way that 3 was for me. Movies 1 & 2 were perfect, no notes. 3 was still GOOD. 4 was like... :/ like it was alright. Just didn't hit the spot.

Heeeeeeyyyyyy I love your work on soul eater sm I don't usually see soul eater fics that aren't from 2014 so like :D
Could I please have Liz, black*star and dtk with an s/o who is related to crona (could be in a sibling or just a random relative way idm) how would react to it 😙😙?? Thank you!!
Dear lord this has been sitting in my inbox so long, I'm sorry!!! I hope you still get to see this and enjoy it!!
Liz, Black*Star, and Death the Kid w/ an s/o related to Crona (GN):
Liz- “No way, you two are related?? …Are you okay?” The first reaction Liz would have to finding out about you being related to Crona would be to check in on your well-being and inquire about the relationship you have with your family as a whole. She wouldn’t have any problems with you being related to witches, but given the line of people you have a connection with, her immediate thought is that you may have been horrifically mistreated too.
If you were, she’d ask about what she can do to make you feel as comfortable as possible in any given situation. Liz would also not hesitate to fuck someone up if they tried to harass you over your relatives.
If you were lucky to separate from your family unscathed, Liz would feel immediate relief and would assure you that you (and Crona of course) are one of the very few good things that have come from that family.
She would also try to include Crona more in small group hangouts. Liz thinks that family can be really important, and if Crona can cling to one part of their family, it should be you.
Black*Star- “You’re related? Does that mean you’re crazy strong too?! You better not be holding back on me!” Black*Star probably wouldn’t think too hard about the rest of your family. He’d think that it’s super cool that you and Crona are related, but he takes things at face value most of the time, so as long as you are a good person yourself, it doesn’t really matter to him who you’re related to. After all, he came from a clan of assassins, who is he to judge other families?
He would still ask you a million questions though, and he might be a bit insensitive with some (think “did Medusa try to experiment on you too??”) but you can always give him a good smack on the shoulder and he’ll stop being so overbearing.
Poor Crona would be scared shitless when Black*Star hears you’re related. He’s very brash, so he’d bombard Crona with questions too or maybe even say something like “When I marry them, we’re gonna be related too, Crona! We’ll be a way cooler family!”
After a while, the hype he feels for knowing his s/o is related to a friend of his dies down and he stops prying so much, but if you ever need to talk about your relationship with your family, he’ll listen and do his best to understand you.
Death the Kid- “I never would have suspected the two of you were related. How interesting.”
Kid would be the most skeptical out of the group at first. Given your relation to witches, and especially the ones that created the tragedy that is Crona, he’d be a bit wary at first. He’s pretty demanding when it comes to information he deems crucial, so he may press you for information about your past. If you had a strong bond with your extended family, that wouldn’t be good. He’d be most happy if you left them behind on as neutral terms as possible.
If you were treated poorly like Crona was, Kid would be so ridiculously protective of you. No one was going to say one bad thing about you being related to a string of awful people. They’d have hell to pay with him around.
He’d want to know how you feel about Crona and he’d want to try and have you two be closer if possible, but he won’t push anything if it’s too uncomfortable for either of you.
Overall, Kid just wants you to feel safe and happy. It doesn’t matter who your blood relatives are.

YES :3 my evil nature
so i think you would LOVE marica and flamiena. sorry they are a package deal i do not care.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so. starting with marica :) she's one of the only 3 members of the silver fang who made it out alive after the attack, and instead of staying to help them (mistos and shalvas), she leaves to go lead a trooper group called Lurid Eyes. she and flamiena are super close, flamiena leads another trooper group (the name is escaping me rn bc it doesnt come up in plot a ton) and they grow closer over the course of the game. like you always see them together, you always see them caring deeply about each other etc (its to the point where honestly it feels kind of gay coded to me at least, but its not really confirmed at least in routes ive done. but theres a lot going on w them)
but to me, their specific moment that made me think you'd love them comes during the latter half of the game. both of them have faced a lot of danger over the game (that they've been able to handle pretty easily, they're both very strong in a fight), but when they are working along with silver fang (shalvas and mistos) to capture melanie (due to her causing a lot of trouble), marica is basically guarding Melanie. flamiena is super worried about her (bc melanie is very strong and dangerous) and when melanie does lash out, she hurts marica pretty bad, and flamiena is very doting and worried over her. but later both of them get told the other is injured and to go to a location to help the other, which is unfortunately a trap (which is an entire tragic thing in of itself, bc it all ties back into melanies death but thats beside the point). flamiena gets heavily injured trying to escape but her only concern is marica and how she's still being held captive. so obviously shalvas and mistos go to help out because its clear that flamiena is worried. what to me makes them as characters so interesting (even tho they dont appear super frequently) is the way that they are always willing to do pretty much anything to help the other but also have insane battle experience and are just very strong. like its hard to really get into whats going on without explaining 5 million plot points but they're very well written and i really think you'd like them :)
