Jaune had expected a lot for his own, Coming of age celebration and he wasn't disappointed, not by the food, quest and certainly not his presents. His own father had gotten him not one, but two slaves, for him and him alone, with the knowledge he would be undisturbed in his new chambers. Looking them over, they had everything; Perfect Dark Skin, Flowy green Hair, sexy See-through outfits and best of all, they were a mother and daughter Pair!
The Second Chapter of “Meeting The Mothers”! This one has an OC character, Esmeralda Sustrai, Emerald’s mother. I will have an art piece on my AO3 account of her when I cross-post. Don’t want to risk it getting flagged and this pulled.
Trigger Warning: Mentions of Slavery, Pleasure Slaves, Non-Descriptive Beatings (Nothing visible, but mentioned)
Jaune Arc, only son and Scion of the Noble House of Arc, was finally reaching his Coming of Age Celebration. He had been training from a young age to eventually take over the house and lead it to an even higher amount of greatness, learning a multitude of things, ranging from Swordplay, to Tactics, to Diplomacy. All of the family allies, Clan Ren, Nomad Tribe Valkyrie, Vassal Clan Zedong, and fellow Noble Family, the Warrior Family Nikos had come.
Their children were his closest friends, Lie Ren and Nora Valkyrie, who he was very sure would get “together-together” and bind their clans together, bringing the raw physical talent of the Valkyries and the guile and sneakiness of the Ren family.
May Zedong, one of his oldest and closest friends, large breasted and very timid but with a magnificent win record against their enemies. Her maroon locks covered her left eye, a scar from battle with a rival clan, the Branwen Tribe. She had lost it in a battle with Vernal, Raven Branwen’s second in command, but Vernal herself had lost far more, her life blood staining the Valean forest floor.
Next to her stood Pyrrha, his other closest friend, already a champion of gladiatorial combat and the strongest out of all of them in close quarters combat. He had no bitter feelings over that, none of them did. Pyrrha was a good friend, and just as human as the rest of them...even if she could beat all of them working together against her with ease.
The food was wonderful; the chefs of his family had gone out of their way to make sure that not only his favorites were there, but the favorites of his friends as well. It may have been his day, but he wanted them to enjoy it as well.
His presents had been grand, as well. A new set of Diplomatic robes for formal situations, some customized armor, both signifying his new station as upcoming head of house. His friends had given him great gifts as well.
Lie had given him a knife like one of his own, a wicked thing that was designed to slip through plates of armor to pierce skin. A fine groove along the blade led to the bolster where two minute holes were. It turned out that the butt of the handle unscrewed and liquid could be poured in, and with the depression of a small button underneath the finger guard, would flow out and coat the edge. A poison chamber. What one would expect from a family known for their assassins as much as their diplomats, really.
From Nora, he had received what looked like a shirt and pants, but he recognized the material. It was made out of Boarbatusk Leather, a very flexible, extremely durable, material that was highly resistant to cuts. He could tell from the make it was skintight and meant to go under his normal clothes. As he looked them over, he missed the bright cheeks of both Pyrrha and May, with Nora nudging them and winking.
From May, he had received a new custom sidearm, a heavy pistol that he knew was more was designed more around power, impact, and penetration than speed. He even saw on the grip their symbols, her Crosshairs and his Crescents, making him smile as he remembered them growing up together with the others, and all the trouble that they would get into.
From Pyrrha he received something similar, yet different. An arm bracer that expanded into a Xiphos Shield, much like her own, for when he used his sheath to turn Corcea Mors into a Broadsword. Etched into them were Pyrrha’s symbol of the Shield and Spear and the Arc Crescents.
As he was marveling over his gifts, he failed to see both Pyrrha and May being teased by not only Nora, but his sisters, both of them blushing brightly under the scrutiny.
The party continued well into the night, Jaune dancing with May, Pyrrha, Nora, and even Ren when Nora and his sister had shoved the two of them together as a joke, and the pair just went with it, much to the laughs and amusement of the others.
As the party wound down, and people began to retire to the guest bedrooms, his father gestured for him to follow. Jaune stood and began to follow, missing the saddened looks from Pyrrha and May, both knowing what was coming.
~x~x~x~x~
May and Pyrrha stared after the boy they had fallen for, had loved for years. They knew why his father was taking him away, and weren’t going to lie, it hurt knowing what was going to happen, what he was going to likely do.
Both turned as hands touched their shoulders. Seeing their mothers behind them, both with teasing smiles, the close friends felt heat creep up the back of their necks and into their cheeks at the knowing looks.
“No long faces, dears. You know that there is no competition, even if Jaune’s parents bought him a pair of slaves. They did the same for Alizaryn and Saphron, as well.” Athena Nikos murmured, patting her daughter’s cheek. Pyrrha tried to take comfort in those words, she truly did.
May, however, spoke what they were both feeling. Scowling off to the side, she muttered, “Yeah, but you have to remember, Saphron married and has a child with her slave...well, ex-slave now.” there was no heat in her tone. Terra Cotta, or Terra Cotta-Arc now, was the beloved wife of Saphron, the second child of the Arc clan, and everyone had been doting over the small baby boy that held a mix of Arc features and of Terra herself.
May squeaked as her mother thumped her gently on the forehead. “None of that, dear daughter. Focus on the fact that you still have a chance. Both of you do. Neither of you were taught to give up, why start now?”
Both May and Pyrrha felt a burst of renewed energy. That’s right, they had years on the two new servants. They’d get their husband! Though it might take a bit of work...Jaune hadn’t noticed their feelings yet, but they also knew that it was partially their own fault as well.
~x~x~x~x~
Jaune walked with his father down the hallways of their home, heading towards his new bedroom, one that he had received for becoming an adult of the family, rather than a child in an adult’s body. The walk was silent, making him wonder what was happening.
Finally, his father spoke. “Jaune, as you know, there is an extra present that all members of the Arc family get upon their Coming of Age.” he said, getting a nod from the younger male. It had been tradition that all children had gotten slaves/servants upon their coming of age. His father had; Maria Calavera had been with them since his father had reached eighteen. Alizaryn, his eldest sister had her own, Elm Ederne, a powerfully built woman who was a warrior through and through.
Saphron, his other eldest sister, had her own slave as well, a lovely young woman named Terra Cotta...or Terra Cotta-Arc now. His sister had fallen for and married the woman, and even asked for him to donate so they could have a child of their own. So, he was no stranger to sex.
“You know what you were taught.” Jaune nodded, he had been trained in how they handled their slaves and servants. Kindness rather than cruelty. Compassion and understanding rather than an iron fist. It was why even if the slaves were released, they hardly ever wanted to leave the Arc Family.
“These two...they came from a bad place, son.” Jaune felt a bit of dread pool within his belly at his father’s words. “But, we knew you would treat them right.” his father’s hand rested on his shoulder. The moment was serious, before the elder Arc smirked. “And don’t worry, Maria and the others set them up on contraceptives~” he teased, bursting out into raucous laughter at his son’s sputtering.
~x~x~x~x~
Two green haired woman knelt on the floor, clad only in gauzy material that didn’t cover anything. Well it did, but the material was so sheer it was completely sheer, meaning nothing was truly covered. They were quiet, both fearing and wondering what was to come.
Esmeralda Sustrai, the older of the pair, glanced to see her daughter, Emerald, sitting deathly still. She understood why. Both of them had been through several masters at this point, and been returned each time. She longed to comfort her child, but didn’t know whether or not they were being watched. And even then, could she comfort her daughter?
She had known nothing but slavery her entire life, just like her. It was fortunate for both of them that in order to return them, their previous masters couldn’t cause a lot of damage to them...meaning, they had been slapped around and bruised, but nothing permanently scarring.
As it was, Emerald had been nursing an incredible black eye and split lip from their previous mistress for ‘looking haughty towards her’ when the Arcs had come, looking for servants for their son. Esmeralda had practically thrown herself forwards, regardless of the fact she could be punished later for acting out. She had grown up, all slaves had grown up, knowing of the Arc Family. It was a family any of them hoped to be purchased by.
She found that the rumors and stories that the slaves told one another weren’t just that. The mother had been quite upset that someone laid a hand on them-even healing them with her semblance!-before looking at her husband and nodding. They had been purchased only minutes later.
It had been a whirlwind of activity afterwards, the other servants of the family welcoming them, taking them to the baths to be cleaned, then having their new ownership marks applied (hers still tingled lightly against her skin) and dressed in the gauzy silks and golden jewelry they now were adorned with.
Part of Esmeralda marveled at what they wore, no matter how flimsy and barely there the material was, she had an eye for detail. These silk dancers outfits they wore were more expensive than anything they had ever worn before.
Glancing at her daughter again, she could see her face was stoic, but she was trembling. Finally giving in, she placed her hand on her daughter’s shoulder, making her eyes snap towards her. Esmeralda fought a wince. She could see the fear that her precious daughter was trying to hide.
“It will be okay, Emerald.” she whispered, her smoky voice easily heard in the silent room. “We won’t be hurt here.” she gently squeezed her shoulder, trying to give comfort, before pulling away as she heard the door click, bowing her head submissively towards her lap, Emerald doing the same next to her.
~x~x~x~x~
Jaune thought about his father’s words as he reached the door of his new bedchambers, thinking on how he was going to handle this.
(Flashback)
“These two have had several ‘owners’ before, son.” the derisive tone of his father’s voice made Jaune squirm, even though he knew that the anger was directed at them. “Abusive louts, the lot of them! No care for human life!” His father shook his head, his slowly graying hair swaying. “Take care of them, son. They need your kindness and care.”
(Flashback End)
Jaune took a deep breath. He just needed to stay calm, keep a cool head, treat them like they were humans, even if they were his property. Grabbing the doorknob, he twisted it and stepped inside his room.
~x~x~x~x~
Emerald Sustrai never knew a life outside of ownership. But she did know that owners varied. A lot. She still was haunted by how their last one had treated them. Cinder Fall was not a pleasant mistress, or even a pleasant woman. Others hadn’t been too bad, but too often they were resold because their owners got ‘bored’ with them. Emerald was still surprised that she was pure, the male masters they had instead preferring her mother’s skills (even if she had been forced to watch), but knew that her luck wasn’t going to hold out.
After all, only one thing could happen when during their primping and preparation session they had been given contraceptives. Expensive, fast acting, contraceptives. The flimsy garments that hid nothing only added to her belief. After all, the thin silk didn’t hide the darkness of their nipples or the slits of their pussies from even themselves, never mind anyone else who looked at them.
But if her mother was right, and the Arcs were like how she had heard stories of, this couldn’t be too bad...even if a thrill of terror was running down her spine at the thought of being fucked for the first time. Part of it was honestly, how was she, a virgin, to please her and her mother’s new master? Her stomach roiled at the thought of them being sent away due to her inadequacy.
Now, the fact that she had managed to remain a virgin this long seemed to be a sword hanging above her neck rather than a relief.
As the door opened, she chanced a glance up, hoping that he master didn’t notice, she didn’t want to be punished on her first day here, and her mouth went dry. He was...handsome. He wasn’t a fat old man, nor some waif of a girl. Before her stood a warrior, born and bred.
Light colored hair, the color of the sun itself, covered his head, shining in the dim light of the room, mixed with blue eyes shining like precious stones, like the ones she had seen previous masters wear and flaunt. His face was handsome, no extra fat whatsoever, but not so thin as to appear gaunt.
His body...she fought to not fidget as she gazed over him. The outfit may have been simple, but her and her mother’s new master had an impressive body, one of strong, cut muscles that pressed against the thin shirt that he wore.
She immediately glanced down when he started to turn from closing the door behind her, trying desperately to calm the rapid pounding of her heart and the burning in her cheeks. She rubbed her thighs together gently, trying to ease the heat in her belly. She had never felt this before…
~x~x~x~x~
Jaune almost felt his mouth go dry. They were beautiful. Not in the same way as Pyrrha or May, but an exotic beauty all the same. Skin a few shades lighter than either Terra’s or Elm’s, matching the color of the chocolates that his sisters and female friends loved to snack on. Flowing mint green hair that barely fell to their chins. Eyes the color of rich rubies. Button noses, full lips.
Unbidden, his eyes fell further. Full breasts with hard dark nipples. Flat, toned bellies. Wide, flaring, birthing hips. Toned legs. And the family symbol tattooed directly over their wombs. All of this beauty, wrapped up in gauzy, see through dancers silks. He knew that Terra and Elm had a hand in this. Those two loved teasing him.
He could feel his cock growing and sliding down his inner thigh. Licking his lips, he spoke. “Hello, you two. Names?” he could be forgiven for not being the most literate, after all, Alizaryn and Saphron had both been speechless when presented with Elm and Terra.
~x~x~x~x~
Emerald did not swoon. Swooning was for the annoying waif girls that she and her mother had been forced to serve and attend to. She wasn’t one of those. However, she couldn’t deny that his voice did something to her. She swallowed, licking her lips. “E-Emerald Sustrai, Master.” she stumbled slightly over her own name, something that mortified her, but her new master didn’t notice the gaffe.
“Esmeralda Sustrai, Master.” she heard her mother purr next to her, making Emerald swallow. Her mother was definitely pulling out her tricks, like she had with their other male masters, likely hoping to draw attention onto herself rather than her...but Emerald realized two things. One, she likely wouldn’t get away from notice this time, even with her mother’s wiles, and two, she wasn’t sure she wanted to get away from his notice. The look that he was giving her wasn’t simply lust, it was...she couldn’t find a word for it.
~x~x~x~x~
Esmeralda easily slipped back into the simple mindset she had had since Emerald was born: Protect Your Daughter. It was very easy to do, no matter the gender of their master. For men, draw upon their lusts. For women, draw upon their lust, or ire, depending. Anything to protect her daughter. She could see the bulge growing in his pants, and despite her worry for what might be coming, found herself growing moist, arousal flowing through her body. It had been so long since she had been actually satisfied during sex, not since her she had been with the man who had given her her precious daughter.
But even still, she just needed to keep his attention on her, make him lust after her and her alone. Since they had been told that this was a ‘Coming of Age’ celebration, Esmeralda figured that their young master was a virgin, which meant he would be eager and have a lot of energy, but not have a lot of staying power.
...it also meant a likely lack of control once he got lost in the pleasure of a physical body. So, more reason to keep his attention on her.
But, seeing his well muscled and cared for body, Esmeralda couldn’t help but lick her lips. She couldn’t deny that he was much more appealing than any of her previous masters. Maybe...maybe this time wouldn’t be so bad…?
~x~x~x~x~
‘Firm hand, Jaune...firm, but gentle…’ the blond reminded himself. “What are your skills and talents? I know dancing is one of them.” he licked his lips again as the elder of the two, Esmeralda, shifted and raised her head to look at him, the daughter Emerald following suit. He didn’t miss the look of awe on Emerald’s face. It was something akin to how he saw both Terra and Saphron’s looks when they met.
“Yes, Master. Dancing was a skill taught to me when I was a girl, and I trained Emerald personally in the skill. As for other talents, I was trained extensively in the sexual arts, the skillset growing with every new master and mistress we’ve had. We have both also cared for ailing and children.” he could see a small bubble of dread fill her when she realized that dancing and sex were her two main skills, with some minor ability to care for the sick, and her own experience raising her own child being her other skills. But then, what other use was there for a pleasure slave?
He released a hum. “You said ‘I was trained extensively’, was Emerald not?” he saw her heart sank to her stomach, her skin loosing some of its color and taking on a more pallid look. He held up a hand to forestall any panic, turning to Emerald. “Emerald? Is this true?” he saw her tremble a bit, before weakly nodding her head. “Y-Yes, Master…”
He sighed softly, reaching out and gently cupping the girl’s, who couldn’t be older than him, face. Gently directing her face up, he gave her the gentlest smile he could. “It’s okay, there’s no shame in that. I’m surprised, certainly, you are quite beautiful.” he saw her smile weakly. “Thank you, Master.” she murmured, leaning into his palm.
~x~x~x~x~
Esmeralda watched in shock as their new master actually comforted Emerald. She had heard the Arcs were caring, but she never expected this! With any of their previous masters, weakness had been met with slaps and beatings! Not enough to scar, but enough to show them their place!
She was surprised that she hadn’t been stripped of her garments and thrown onto the expansive bed and fucked senseless already! Their last male master hadn’t even bothered doing this before attacking her body outright!
She looked up at her, their new master, as he gently pulled her daughter close like one would a lover, her precious gem curling up against him like an affectionate cat seeking attention. Normally, she would be horrified at the lack of decorum to their master, but he curled his arm around her and gently rubbed the bare skin between her dancer’s top and bottom. It was gentle, soothing, and surprisingly, non-sexual.
~x~x~x~x~
Emerald snuggled into her master’s chest, inhaling his scent, the spicy aroma of sandalwood as his hand roamed over her back, his fingers, strong with callused tips, rubbing against her skin, gently following the extremely thin, shallow scars a careless master had given her long ago. Ones given for ‘not showing proper respect’.
She knew she should feel more worried, but she found that she couldn’t. Her new master radiated kindness and comfort, something she was very unused to. She wanted, needed, more. Eventually, though, she heard her mother speak.
“Emerald, my dear, why don’t we give our new master a dance?” part of her wanted to whine, but she knew that she had likely pushed her luck further than she should with touching their master without his express permission. Nodding against his chest, Emerald slowly pulled back, a frown tugging at her lips as she left her master’s warm embrace.
Giving her master as soft a smile as she could manage, she moved back toward her mother. “Yes, mother, lets give our master a dance he won’t forget!” her voice was low, but not from fear, but rather, lust and desire.
~x~x~x~x~
Jaune swallowed as both exotic beauties stood smoothly and a set pace away from one another, no more than five steps he guessed, before they began to sway their bodies. Slowly starting, swinging their hips back and forth, the silks covering their intimates swaying, the gauzy fabric moving and giving him flashes of bare cocoa skinned lips, before being ‘covered’ again.
Breasts and hips swayed, arms moved and slowly roamed over their bodies, trailing over their torsos, cupping and squeezing and presenting their breasts to him, fingers circling their hard nipples.
The pair were obviously skilled at what they did, well practiced and a paired unit, perfectly in sync with one another. He swallowed hard as they spun slowly, the fabric that passed for a skirt fluttering, revealing the full and fat swells of their plump asses to him.
He licked his lips, his cock throbbing in his pants as he watched the pair spin again, arms behind their heads as they thrust their chests out towards him, their nipples almost pressing through the hyper thin material. Their hips rocked side to side like pendulums, both looking at him lustfully.
Jaune groaned, his dress pants almost tearing from how hard his cock was getting. Fuck, he needed relief! He knew that these two were his to do with how he wanted, but he wasn’t cruel. They may be his, but he wouldn’t force them. He was better than that.
~x~x~x~x~
Esmeralda knew that her master was aroused. She was sure that even Emerald knew; those slacks held his body well, and hid his manhood poorly. The swelling of flesh was making a distinct print along the inside of his leg. She felt herself getting moist between her thighs. It had been so long...and she could tell that her new master was caring. He would not mistreat her, or her daughter. Such kindness...needed to be rewarded.
She began to move, sauntering over, making sure to sashay her hips and subtly twist her shoulders, making her tits sway, her nipples aching as they rubbed against the thin silks she wore as she made her way towards their master, ready to use all of her talents to please their new owner.
Reaching him, she smoothly dropped to her knees before him, sitting her plump ass on her heels and placed her hands on his knees. “Allow this one to take care of your needs, master~” she purred, sliding her hands up his inner thighs, palming the thick cock and feeling the intense heat bleeding through the thin dress pants.
This close, she could already smell the musk of his body, a spicy aroma that was pleasing, nothing like the smell of her previous masters. Her hands crept up further to his belt, skillfully undoing it and reaching for his button, flicking it open to reveal...her mouth dropped open.
“…Wow…” Esmeralda turned to see her daughter had moved forwards, staring in unabashed awe at the large stalk of flesh that had snapped up and jutted out of his pants, straining hard and insistently, begging for any sort of attention.
Esmeralda smiled at her daughter. “Emerald, attend and learn.” she hummed, turning her eyes back to her master’s hard flesh. She didn’t need to turn to know that her daughter had sunk to her knees next to her obediently and was watching attentively.
~x~x~x~x~
Jaune bit the inside of his cheek, having two beautiful women kneeling between his thighs, both staring at his cock with unashamed awe. He was surprised, knowing that Esmeralda had likely had a long list of lovers, and Emerald had at least watched, so he couldn’t be the most impressive they had ever seen. But their looks also didn’t seem faked.
Even then, his cock was screaming for some sort of sensation, some sort of relief. He hadn’t ached this much in almost two years, not since the time Saphron had pulled him into her bedroom with a naked Terra and begged him (on bent knee, at that!) to give them a baby that would be considered a full-blooded Arc.
He inhaled sharply as slender hands moved and pulled his pants down more, his heavy balls falling free of his garment as Esmeralda worked his dress slacks down and off of his body, leaving him bare below the waist.
He swallowed as soft hands moved up and cupped his heavy balls. “See, my daughter?” he heard her purr, her fingers gently moving over the sensitive skin covering the fragile orbs. “This is a wonderful way to start off teasing a man…” he bit his lower lip as she bounced his aching balls in her hands.
~x~x~x~x~
Esmeralda smiled softly as she saw their master trembling already, but he hadn’t attempted for more yet. So, not a virgin, but also not used to sexual contact. She could work with that. Moving her right hand up, she gently grasped the thick stalk of flesh, shivering as the heat seeped into her hand. “Gently, Emerald...like petting a kitten.” she instructed, moving her hand up and down in a smooth motion, making their master moan and arch his hips. “That sound? That means you’re doing it right.”
Esmeralda made a few more pumps with her hand, the dribbling precum acting as lubricant, making the glide of her hand smoother and easier along his shaft. “You want to keep a moderate speed unless you’re teasing or want them to cum quickly.” Emerald likely already knew by watching her all these years, but sex lessons always bore repeating...especially since her daughter was likely going to lose her virginity today.
Glancing back at Emerald, she saw that she was staring intently at what she was doing, a red tint to her cheeks, making the mother smile. She didn’t know why this was making her blush, she had watched her do so much more...speaking of which…
Esmeralda leaned down and licked a stripe up the length of the thick cock before her, from the balls to the tip, making sure to maintain eye contact with her master, satisfaction filling her as she he groaned. His taste was clean, salty and savory, a pleasure for her palate.
Moving her tongue up more, she pressed the flat of it just underneath his head and swirled it slowly, lapping the drops of precum that oozed out of the slit and began to drip down. Moving closer, she felt someone touch her, and glancing to the side to see Emerald moving forward almost eagerly. Leaning to the side, she allowed her daughter to get between their master’s legs as well.
“Now, trail your tongue like this-” Esmeralda dragged her tongue up from their master’s balls again, from base to tip, then moved back and watched her daughter attempt, nervously sticking her tongue out and dragging it along the pillar of flesh.
~x~x~x~x~
Emerald was nervous, there was no other word for it! She had never done something like this before, despite her last mistress loving having her eat her out at all times. Her virginity may be hers in the strictest sense, but her mouth had certainly been used by her female owners. What if she was no good at it? She shook her head, casting her fear to the side and focusing on the tip, tasting the oddly sweet flavor on her tongue.
She knew she was wet, could feel her juices sliding down her inner thighs, and she knew that there was no way that she’d get away without losing her virginity today...but strangely, the thought didn’t bother her. Their new master hadn’t been rough at all with her mother...this...this would be worth it.
~x~x~x~x~
Jaune was close to cracking, these two women were driving him nuts with their beauty, their actions, the slow teasing of his cock. Esmeralda seemed to notice this, and smiled. “Master, there’s no need to be so high strung…” he watched with wide eyes as the elder of the two slipped behind her daughter, tugging the flimsy covering between her thighs to the side and revealing her soaked core, her other hand reaching down and spreading her lips, revealing bright pink insides, dripping with want, to him. “My daughter wishes to attend to your needs.”
Jaune swallowed hard, looking into the younger woman’s eyes, seeing lust and want in her ruby orbs. But he was raised better. He would make sure. “Are you sure, Emerald? There’s no going back.” he rasped.
~x~x~x~x~
Emerald’s anxiety left her, even though her heart sped up. Her master truly was kind to actually ask her if she was sure about this. But she wanted this. She actually wanted this. “Yes, master...please...take my purity as yours. All of me, all of my body, is yours. Please, claim me as yours.” she chanced a glance up, gasping as he cupped her cheek again.
She gasped again as her mother’s fingers rubbed her sensitive little core, swirling around her sensitive little button, making her pussy clench and drip. She felt her mother’s lips against her ear. “That’s it, baby...get nice and wet for our master…” Emerald’s hips bucked as she felt her mother tease that small bud with her longest finger, while her eyes locked on her master, seeing those deep blues filled with lust. All aimed at her.
Her lower lip shook, but she was no longer going to deny herself! “Please, master…” she whispered softly. She yelped as she was suddenly grabbed and pulled up, straddling her master’s thighs, his hard shaft pressing against her moist core; her eyes rolled up in her head as the thick stalk of flesh rubbed against her sensitive clit, making her shudder and shake on his lap. A large, strong hand clasped onto her rump, his fingers sinking into the soft, pliant flesh, making her whimper.
Slowly, she began to work her hips back and forth, up and down, spreading her slick fluids along the thick shaft pressed against her, gasping and shaking all the while. She...she never knew that sex was like this…
~x~x~x~x~
Esmeralda smiled softly as she watched her daughter rock her hips. There may be no penetration yet, but she knew that her daughter was in good hands. She just hoped that her master had enough in the tank to take care of her as well...she didn’t want to be left alone with her hands after this. But he was young; he was sure to be able to handle her virgin daughter and herself…
~x~x~x~x~
Jaune groaned as Emerald’s soaking core ground against his aching shaft, his hand sinking into the soft pillow of her ass. “Em...Emerald…” he fought from letting his voice be little more than a lustful growl, “I’m going to lift you up now…” he shifted his hands to her hips and began to lift her, toes curling as her slick cunt pressed down hard on his needy cock, her fluids dribbling down and running over his balls.
Positioning her above his cock, he shivered, feeling the head of his dick rubbing against almost criminally soft lips. “Emerald...you’re going to need to lower yourself...at your own pace, okay? Don’t go too fast, otherwise-!!” Jaune gasped as Emerald twisted her hips and shoved herself down, bottoming out as her bubbly ass smacked against his thighs.
He was forced to grab said rear and hold her against him as she shook and trembled on his lap, her eyes wide and unfocused, as her pussy squeezed, flexed, and rippled around his shaft. She was cumming just from being impaled on his cock. If that wasn’t an ego boost, he didn’t know what was.
~x~x~x~x~
Emerald’s eyes rolled up in her head as pleasure exploded through her body, starting at her core and moving its way up, through her belly, back, chest, legs, arms, and ending in her brain, fingers, and toes. She shook like she had touched a live wire, her core going wild around the beast that it held prison.
She inhaled and exhaled, breathing hard and fast, her breasts bouncing and nipples scraping against the thin silk she still wore, her toes curling as she shook on top of her master. Slowly coming back to herself, she looked at her master, before clenching down on the thick flesh within her. “Master~” she purred, the sound coming from her without any issue, so reminiscent of her mother, “Your pleasure slave is ready to fulfill all your desires...every. Last. One.”
For all her confidence, a squeak still escaped her as her master spun her around, and pressed her against the bed, making her whimper and her back go utterly limp as a cooked noodle on the comfortable bed. She reached up, clutching at him, her slim fingers digging into her master’s top as he began to thrust into her slowly, making her gasp and shake underneath him as he claimed her.
Was this what sex was like? Truly? Not the obviously faked stuff her mother did with their previous male masters, but being loved, cared for? Her eyes rolled up in her head again, her smooth legs, still partially covered in their silks, swinging around his hips and locking together, her toes curling as her master filled her with more pleasure than she had ever experienced. “MASTER~!!♥♥” she cried out, throwing her head back as she convulsed around him, arching up and trembling.
Her master kept moving through her orgasm, not stopping nor allowing her to catch her breath, making that crest of pleasure just rise and rise and rise, her pussy squeezing and flexing and rippling around him, trying to empty his body of his seed. She was going to go insane at this rate! Her master was going to turn her into a slut for his cock! Blackness creeping into her vision, she arched as she came for the third time in quick succession, passing out with a blissful smile on her face as her master groaned above her, going stiff and blistering heat filling her belly.
~x~x~x~x~
Jaune groaned in pleasure as he came, shooting jet after jet of thick cum into Emerald’s belly, watching her tremble and shake in her third orgasm, slumping with a wide, almost delirious smile on her face, her ruby eyes rolled up in her head.
Grunting, Jaune slowly pulled out, hating leaving Emerald’s warm and tight pussy, but not wanting to fuck her while she was unconscious. Fortunately, he had another person here to help slake his needs...turning, he licked his lips as he saw an eager looking Esmeralda licking her lips. “Esmeralda is ready to tend to your needs, master~” she purred.
~x~x~x~x~
“Ah! Ah! Ah! Yes! Yes! More, Master! More~♥♥♥!!” Esmeralda cried out, on all fours above her daughter, although she might as well be lying on top of her as their master pounded into her needy, leaking pussy, his hips slamming into her rear with loud claps, making the thick flesh ripple and shake. She groaned, her own ruby eyes clenching shut as a powerful orgasm flew through her body.
Her master was the most attentive lover she had ever had, and considering that some of their previous masters had passed her around like a party favor at parties, that was saying something! But she forced those memories from her mind, focusing instead on the thick cock slamming into her body and giving her pleasure that she had never felt before.
“MmmmmmmMaaaasssstteeerrrrr~♥♥♥♥!!” she wailed, arching as his hand came down on her cheek, not to spank, but to grab and sink his fingers into the fat swell as he plunged into her faster and harder, making her cum and cum and cum. The only thing keeping her from outright collapsing was the knowledge that her daughter was underneath her.
“Mmmm...M-mom?” ruby eyes shot open and she looked down, to see her precious daughter looking up at her with a lazy smile on her face. “Is master making you feel as good as he did me?...I can barely feel my legs…” she moaned.
Esmeralda opened her mouth to speak, only for an extremely slutty moan to leave it, her legs quivering as she came yet again, her own cum drooling down her inner thighs. She blinked as her daughter’s arms looped around her neck and pulled her down in a loose hug. “Master...mommy’s womb needs your wonderful cum...can’t you please fill it like you did mine?” Esmeralda’s eyes widened as their master moved even faster, slamming against her pillowy rear, an undignified yelp escaping her lips as a hand (her own daughter’s hand, at that!) crept between her thighs and played with her clit, while she smiled up at her with that naughty little smile she always shared when they played with one another for their master’s entertainment...but she couldn’t help but think that it was far different this time around.
But those ponderings were driven from her mind as she flew into another orgasm, waling out, her pussy going wild around her master’s dick, trying to coax out his seed. Her master did not disappoint.
Esmeralda inhaled sharply as Emerald leaned up and pressed her lips to her own, soft and sweet, full of love and emotion. Part of her wanted to jerk back, but instead, she just leaned forwards and pressed her lips against her daughter’s just a bit firmer. Her eyes drifted shut once more. Whatever this was, she could worry about it later. For now, she was just going to enjoy what they were experiencing.
~x~x~x~x~
Jaune growled as he slammed himself to the base inside Esmeralda, her fat ass cheeks rippling as his balls snapped taut, erupting and spitting out every drop of cum still inside him into her womb. Focusing on the pleasure, he watched as Emerald leaned up and kissed her mother, gently and sweetly, making him smile.
Saphron was correct; the Coming Of Age Celebration really was the best birthday ever.

It’s so sweet and such a coming of age story in a way, so I tried to channel that into my writing >< I definitely enjoyed this one a lot!

Being from a clan like the Inumaki clan, many from the Jujutsu world would just automatically assume that you’d inherate the powerful Cursed Speech Curse Ability from your family. However, there is always that few exceptions when it came to things like this; and this time, you were that one exception.
You were born deaf, and because of this, you were looked down upon by the elders of your clan for being a ‘waste of an heir’. Your father, a loving man, had always shield you from there vile words; and from example your older brother, a gifted user, became overprotective of you. He would willingly take a bullet for you, constantly showering you in love and affection, and even going so far as learning how to use sign language at a young age so he can communicate with you.
Because he just wants you to grow up in a loving and somewhat normal life. That’s all he wants for you.
Hence why, instead of following the normal route of a jujutsu student, your parents decided to sign you up in a nearby elementary school with the hopes that you get to bond with normal children. So that’s how you found yourself dressed in a cute floral dress, your white frilly socks with simple Mary Janes, your white hair pulled back into a delicate braid; all excited with your backpack filled with things you picked up at the stationery store and a bento prepared by your mother.
Since it was his day off, Toge took up the responsibility of sending you off on your first day, making sure that the entire process will be smooth sailing for you. Walking down the street of your town, he lets you swing your hands between each other, smiling behind his black mask at how excited you were to start your first day of school. It warmed his heart that you get to experience normal things like this, and without knowing it, you motivated him to push himself harder to become a stronger shaman, to protect the world that brings you so much joy.
Soon you both found your way into the school grounds and quietly, Toge brought you aside so that he can pull his mask down, revealing his tattooed mouth and tongue. But you just smile at your older brother, who smiles back before he reaches over to ruffle your hair between his fingers. Quietly he signed to you, mouthing the worlds he wanted to say silently instead of wording them out in the open; he was a Cursed Speech user, after all. The safest way for him to communicate for you is for him to use onigiri ingredients. or to word out the words silently whilst doing the signs with his hands.
‘You ready for school, pipsqueak?’
“Uf huf!” You said happily, your speech clearly slurred and not so clear since you had never been corrected on how to say words properly - but with how you excitedly nod your head with a wide smile, Toge can pretty much interpret what you were saying. Smiling warmly at your excitement, he leans over to kiss you on the forehead on last time before pulling his mask back on. With that he got back up and, after taking your outstretched hand, you two joined the rest of the crowd once more.
After a lot of paperwork and awkward one sided conversations, since Toge went with the excuse that he had a sore throat, you soon found yourself being led to stand behind your new classmates, who were focused on saying goodbye to their parents. Toge squatted down before you and you can immediately tell he was smiling behind his mask, causing you to smile back as well. Quietly he leans forward to rub his masked nose with yours, something that you two always do when the other is about to leave.
With a giggle you happily rubbed your nose against his as well, and with another parting pat to your head, he got up and followed the other parents that were ushered out of the crowded hallway. Soon a few of the more confident students started to introduce themselves to one another, and one of those children came running towards you with a grin. “Good morning! My name is Taku, nice to meet you!” He greeted loudly as he bowed at you and the girls around you, who all gave him an uninterested glance before turning their attention away from him.
But you did give him an excited smile before you started to sign back a greeting, trying to vocalise your name at the same time. This cause everyone in the hallway to pause and stare at you in confusion, since they had not expected for someone who looks so sweet and soft spoken to have spoken in such a loud and odd way. However before anyone can make a comment about it, the teacher finally arrived with a warm smile on his face, gesturing for the students to entire their new class.
This moment of excitement managed to distract the students and soon everyone flooded into the room, waiting for their seat arrangements to be settled by the teacher before they start their first real day as students. Of course, like any first day of school, you had to do the ice breaker activities to introduce your name and greeting the rest of the class. Everyone had to do it, regardless if they were ready to do it or not - and you were no exception.
You stood up excitedly before you started to say what sounds like your name, signing along the way to try and express yourself better. Once again, everyone was staring at you in confusion, having never heard someone speak like you before. Your teacher just smiles and nods, introducing you to the rest of the students simply. “Inumaki here is actually deaf, meaning she can’t hear you all. So you have to be more creative when you want to talk to her. However, just because she is different, doesn’t mean she is any different from you all. So I expect to treat her like everyone else.”
The simple explanation caused the rest of the students to nod softly, giving you more curious looks since they’ve never been around someone like you before. But on the outside, you were pretty much the same like the rest of them; so it was easy to forget that you were any different from them in the beginning.
It was actually really fun for you - for your entire life, you had always been around sorceress, feeling like an outcast in such a well gifted family. Even though you had a disadvantage, you had always been acutely aware of where curses were, being able to locate them quite accurately even without former training. But you were still a child, so you were given a chance to try out the life as a normal child. You were ecstatic, since you had always dreamed what it would be like to start school and live a normal life.
But, as if the world wanted to spite you, things never tend to go your way.
You remember how things first started out for you - people were shocked at how loud and different you were, but made a real effort to try and talk to you to try and get to know you; since that was what their teachers told them to. However, after awhile, people started to talk behind your back; about how you made no real effort to try and join the conversation, even though the hearing aids you donned on seemed to help you understand them just a little better. At first you ignored the comments of just a few people, having been able to ignore all the backhanded comments that the elders have made for almost your entire life.
However, the first ever boy who introduce himself to you, Taku, seemed to have deemed you to be the odd one out - and for some reason, had decided that you were going to be the subject of his new taunts and teases. At first it was small things like playful off handed comments about you that made your mood fall, but didn’t do much. You have been subjected to worse treatement from others. However, as the weeks go by, it was getting harder and harder to ignore.
Toge had noticed that as the weeks go on, the enthusiasm that you once held for school started to dwindle. Every time he asks you about it though, you would just quickly wave him off, saying that you were just tired with how much work it takes to with people who weren’t necessarily used to using sign language and understanding you. Technically you weren’t lying, since you were mentally drained trying to communicate with so many different types of people. But at the same time, all the off-handed comments were getting to you.
Your answer definitely has him concerned, since he was used to having his baby sister basically talking his ear off on a normal bases; but he didn’t push you too much. It was something he had learnt to do when it comes to you - that when you really need him, you’d come and tell him no matter what. And it was true; even if it was a small trivial matter, you always come whining to him for attention and a listening ear. So he doesn’t necessarily push you to tell him, but he did remind you that if you needed him, he would be there.
And you knew that, but the same time, somehow there were seeds of doubts planted in your mind.
“Don’t you think you’re annoying people all the time?”
“God, you’re so noisy! Can’t you talk quieter?! No wonder people don’t like talking to you~”
“Can you stop trying so hard? You just sound weird.”
It hurt you, and with how busy he can get with his own school life and rarely get to see you, these words started to fill your head and make you feel like you aren’t worth all the effort that people put into trying to communicate with you. It made you start to become closed off and stop making the effort to talk to people, because in your eyes, you didn’t want to be a bigger bother then you already are for people.
Your sudden silence definitely had your parents getting concerned about you, since they were weren’t sure as to why you were suddenly so quiet and secluded from your family when you all used to be such a close family unit. Toge was the most concerned one out of everyone, so after he finally got home from his classes for the week, he had brought some some of the fruit tarts he knows you love from a nearby bakery.
Quietly he made his way to his baby sister’s room, knocking on the wooden frame of the shoji doors to let her know he was coming in. “Salmon?” He calls out curiously as he carefully pushes open the door to your room open, peeking his head in side. The sight of you curled up on your side on your bed, not even acknowledging that your brother had entered your room. Your lack of response does concern him; so he quietly set the box of tarts down on your bedside table before carefully setting down on the bed beside you.
Quietly he reaches over to run his fingers through your soft hair, wordlessly giving you the comfort you didn’t know you were needing. Just a simple touch from someone who you have been trying to hide for so long definitely have your eyes watering. Wordlessly you turned to face your older brother, who just gave you an encouraging smile before he opens his arms for you.
You launched yourself into his arms, and if he hadn’t been waiting for it to happen, he would have fallen back from the sheer force of the hug. Any normal person would have asked you hundreds of questions that will frankly make you feel worse, but Toge was just a pro at understanding you without you needing to say a word.
He might not know just what is it that got you so upset in the first place, and just how much seeing him in your room made you feel a little less lonely; but he wordlessly just wraps his arms around you, pressing soft kisses on the top of your head wordlessly as you soaked his shirt with your tears. It breaks his heart that you were going through the pains of having to live with something that you didn’t choose to have.
But if all you need was someone to lean on, he just wants wants you know that he’s here no matter what.

Spirit Bound
Chapter 10
Pairing: Mortal Kombat x reader; Bucky x reader; Fujin x reader
Tumblr media
After seeing the destruction you had caused in the Coliseum, Raiden didn’t know who else to turn to. The only person who could give him advice was also the person he had tried to keep hidden from you.
In a flash of lightning, Raiden teleported to the Wind temple located high above the Himalayas. There he came across his brother Fujin, who had been pacing back and forth.
“Does something trouble you, Brother.” Raiden asked as he noticed Fujin under distress.
Fujin seemed to have not heard him as he was rather preoccupied. Through the psychic link you both shared, he had sensed your rage and grief. This concerned him as he was not used to feeling another’s emotions. In fact, this was all very new to him.
“Fujin.”
Fujin turned his head to face Raiden as he did a gust of wind blew his white hair. It was then in that moment that Raiden really took note of how much his younger brother was in distress. Fujin’s face was lined with grief and concern.
Immediately Raiden walks to him, “What troubles you?” He rested his hand on his shoulder.
“Y/n.” Fujin looks at his soulmate tattoo on his forearm and then looks up into Raiden’s eyes.
Raiden sighs heavily and removes his hand.
“You knew she was alive.” Fujin narrowed his eyes. “I have spent years searching for her and yet you did not tell me.”
“It is rather complicated, brother. The Elder Gods sent her back in time to save Earthrealm from Shao Kahn.” Raiden looked into Fujin’s white glowing eyes. It was not only that he was trying to hide you from him. It was also the fear that sentiment would impede Fujin’s duties. A life with you will only end in heartbreak and despair. “However, after what I have seen I fear she will endanger Earthrealm.”
Fujin stared at him with confusion and anger. He knew you were participating in Kombat, in fact through the psychic link he encouraged you to continue fighting against Goro. You had even won your challenge against Shang Tsung. How could you endanger Earthrealm when you were trying to save it? Furthermore, how could Raiden reward your valor by insulting and doubting you?
“The Elder Gods told her ‘The Grand Champion shall be Earthrealms salvation or the cause of its destruction.’ She has defeated Shang Tsung and now with the death of her half brother and kidnapping of her other brother. I fear she is not in the right state of mind to defend Earthrealm.” Raiden explained.
Fujin now understood why you felt so much rage and grief. You had defeated and won Mortal Kombat only to lose the ones you loved. He tried desperately to reach you through your psychic link, however you had blocked him.
He felt a twinge of pain stabbing his heart. “Take me to her.”
Raiden shook his head.
Fujin narrowed his eyes, “She is grieving and alone. All the rage and pain she feels it’s all coming out at once.”
Raiden turns his back on Fujin, he remembers all the fights that transpired between them. All of them because of Fujin’s desire to be close to mortals. To be close to you, his soulmate. “Forgive me, Fujin. I cannot.”
“Why not?” Fujin’s asked, his voice laced with anger.
Raiden whirls around, anger transparent on his face. “Because you are a god, Fujin.”
“I do not care about that…”
“You should,” Raiden cut Fujin off. “You are immortal, and she is not. Eventually, she will grow old and die. You will do neither. One day, she will die in your arms and you will watch the life you love fade away and you will do nothing because for all your power, for all of your desire…there is nothing you can do except watch her die. So, I ask you brother to forget about her.”
Fujin’s glowing white eyes were moist with tears he refused to let fall. “You ask the impossible. To forget about her, is to deny love that is given to us, if we refuse to give love because we fear pain or loss, then our lives will be empty, brother. I refuse to fear to love.”
Raiden sighs, “She has another soulmate, who she is spiritually bounded too.”
“What?” Fujin blinked with disbelief, his voice filled with confusion.
“I’ve seen it on her forearm. Lady Y/n, has even describe the bond to me.”
“Has…has she encountered him.” Fujin inquired.
“No, she can only feel his presence within her mind. She saved him from death.”
Fujin remained silent for a moment, before asking, “Did you see my name or a symbol indicating that I am also her soulmate?”
Raiden nodded. “It was concealed underneath a sheer dress, but I could make out your name of her left rib.”
Fujin sighs with relief, “Then it does not matter. I will….”
Raiden looked over to his younger brother and wondered why he unexpectedly stopped speaking. Fujin clutched his head as he felt an overwhelming pressure inside his mind.  Fear lined his face as he was unable to sense you.
“What is it brother?”
“Something has happened to Y/n.” Fujin replied with worry. “Brother take me to her. I need to know she is alright.”
Tumblr media
You were no stranger to loss, pain, and grief. You lost your mother, father, stepmother, Bi-Han, and now Kuai Liang. All you had left was your brother Tony who was not exactly on speaking terms with you. You were utterly alone. Left to save the past from a mad man who wanted to conquer your world.
You stumbled through the dark forest, tears still trickling down your face. All the painful memories just flooded back into your mind and no matter how hard you tried to repress your feelings you could not stop them.
Falling to your knees, more tears were falling faster and you felt your lungs constricting, making it harder for you to breathe. There was so much pain. So much loss. So much anger. You could not take it anymore.  For so long you had managed to keep your anger under wraps, but that is the problem when you keep it contained for so long it does one of two things. It explodes like a nuclear bomb or it comes out in waves.
Your head perks up as you sensed something coming for you. Rising on your feet, you look around to find an incoming threat. However, you do not see a threat instead you can only make out the orange and red flames as they engulf the dark forest.
The hot, bright flames jump higher than the trees and spread quicker like wildfire. Loud crackling fills the air as the flames continue to move closer to you.
You run through the forest in hopes to escape the blazing flames. However, each turn you make you are met with a wall of fire. Soon you are trapped by the raging flames and you are left with no other choice but to use your telekinetic powers to shield yourself from the flames.
Tumblr media
Before you even know it, you come face to face with something not of this world and yet had a familiar presence. The raging flames was shaped like the immortal bird of mythology and lore. It called itself the Phoenix.
With a loud cry, the fiery bird descended towards you. At last, it had found its mortal vessel one that would bring it peace it sorely craved.
Watching in the background Scorpion with tears forming in his eyes had seen the blazing fire consume you. He could not believe this was happening. Not you. You had endured so much only for it to end like this. He rushes through the burning forest as he hears your pained cries.
Scorpion tries desperately to get to you, only to be thrown backwards and forced to teleport away as a massive wave of flames and telekinetic energy destroy the surrounding area.
When Scorpion teleports back, he expected to see nothing but your ashes. However, aside from the destruction he sees your unconscious body floating a few feet off the ground. As he steps closer, he notices how the orange and red flames radiate around you like a shield.
Tumblr media
In the depths of your mind, you could feel yourself struggling to get away from the overwhelming cosmic force. The fiery bird chases after you as you continue to try and shield yourself from it.
“Y/N LN -Stark. Come! Embrace me! Become one with me. You are my vessel! My avatar! Child of light and darkness. Embrace me! Embrace the power of the PHOENIX!”
Up ahead you notice a red head casually walking towards you. Just as you are about to run past her, she grabs onto your arm and prevents you from running away. You look over your shoulder to see the fiery bird had disappeared.
“What is happening?” You gasped heavily.
“Fate.” She releases your arm, hoping you won’t run away again.
“My name is Jean Grey.” She extends her hand to shake.
You raise your brow and look at her with confusion. “Fate? What…Who are you?”
You look down at her hand and then into her eyes.
“You don’t have to be afraid. You’re safe.”
“Safe? Did you not see that thing chasing after me?” You pointed in the direction you had just come from. However, everything looked the same in your mind. Dark and gloomy.
“That would be the Phoenix.” Jean says with a wry smile. “It won’t hurt you. Believe me I have been where you are now. “
“Then what does it want?” You asked as you slowly started to relax.
Jean extends her hand to show you images of the phoenix traveling through the universe searching for an equal. Its vessel. “The Phoenix is a child of the universe and one of the oldest known cosmic entities. It represents life that has not yet been born, as well as the forces of creation and destruction.”
Jean then shows you the destruction of the previous universe. “In the dying moments of the previous universe, the Phoenix saved all existence from eternal damnation. The Phoenix was later reborn from the cosmic fires of the Big Bang. This would affect us and every other form of life both large and small. The phoenix is a force that guides creation, laying the seeds of life in a primordial universe with its holy flames. From Ancient Egypt to the founding fathers, this cosmic entity has evoked a great deal of influence on our civilization.”
Jean then shows you the Phoenix being drawn to Earth. “After eons of traveling the vast of nothingness of space, the phoenix found its way to Earth. And it is here where you come in.”
“How so?” You asked drawn to the story of Phoenix’s origin.
“The phoenix itself is an immortal entity, yet because it is connected so deeply to life, it can manifest in mortal beings. As a bringer of creation and destruction, it requires a mortal conscious in order to balance its cosmic powers. But I am not just talking about anyone. The phoenix carefully selects it avatars, but none have been able to fulfill its deepest primal needs for balance and order. Not even me.”
“So, what you are trying to say is it wants me?” You asked with uncertainty.
Jean nods her head with confirmation, “I have seen what the Phoenix desires. It desires not only an avatar, but an equal. You reached out to it and it reached out to you. It’s a part of you.”
For so long, you had always wondered why you felt as though something had been calling to you. Not in this timeline but after your mother’s death. You notice Jean looking over your shoulder, you whirl around to see what had caught her attention. Heading towards you the fiery bird shaped itself into a new form. Jean Grey, her former avatar and the one who calmed you.
“Embrace your destiny! Embrace me! Become one with me.” Phoenix stood before you, looking into your eyes searching for signs of fear and hesitation, yet found none. The Phoenix grabs ahold of your arm and pulls you into a kiss.
Your eyes widen when its fiery lips crushed against yours, you half expected to feel a burning sensation. However, you were surprised when you felt none. It was definitely…different from any kiss you had ever had before. The Phoenix’s hand moved to your waist and pulled your body to hers. Slowly but surely you had absorbed the Phoenix within you.
You cleared your throat and turned around to see Jean with a grin on her face. “Does that normally happen? Did that happen to you?”
“Nope.” Jean replies and begins to casually walk away.
“What?” You follow her. “Then why?”
“Because it chose you. You are its equal.”
You come to a stop, “Then what about you? If I am its equal, then what does that mean for you?”
Before you can even get a response back, Jean vanishes before your eyes.
Tumblr media
You did not know what was going on. You did not even know where you were. Why were you lying on a rock-hard surface? Why did it smell like blood and death?
“Sister.” One of the women had spoken near you. “So pretty, so far…so sad and alone…Come. Let us be family!”
Slowly you opened your eyes and had to blink a few times for your eyes to adjust to the darkness. You tilt your head in the direction of a women with short black hair who barely had bandages covering her naked body.
“You are not my family. You are a monstrosity!” Kitana replies with disgust.
“’Farewell, sister!” Kitana says angrily, as she is about to deliver the finishing blow.
Your vision swam in and out of focus as Kitana and the other women fought. You groaned as you tried to push yourself up from the uncomfortable table. You wondered how you got here? Well where was here?
You looked around trying to find an exit. How you were going to escape? It was clear the battle between the two women was coming to an end. You look over to see Kitana defeat the almost naked women.
“That is no way to treat your sibling.” Shang Tsung says as he steps out of the shadows.
“Despicable swine! Do you think my father will stand for this…these…abominations you have created here?” Kitana takes a few steps forward.
“I am merely perfecting you, princess. As difficult as that might be.” Shang Tsung notices from the corner of his eyes that you have woken. You slide off the table and place your hand against your head. “Ah, my dear you have awoken.”
“Silence!” Kitana commands. “You will leave her be or I will drag you before Shao Kahn by your pointed beard!”
Shang Tsung smirks, “Is that so?”
Shang Tsung finds out the hard way that it is not ok to underestimate Kitana, her weapons and fighting skills alone prove she is a fighter not to be messed with.
“You will stand before my father and confess your deeds.” She turns him around and pushes him to walk forward, leaving you alone with the women dressed in bandages.
Speaking of the women she begins to stir. She looks around and quickly takes notice of you.
She rises on her feet and approaches you. “What do we have here?”
You take a step backwards and brush against the table behind you. You had never seen anyone like her and yet you knew she was a clone of Kitana. She bore resemblance to Kitana, yet there were certain features that made her look different. Her lips lent her a human-like appearance, but her mouth was lined with large, razor sharp teeth like the Tarkatan named Baraka.
“Are you afraid of me?” She raised her hand up and hooked her finger under your chin. She lifted your chin up so that you were looking at her.
You grabbed her wrist and moved her hand away from you. “No.”
“You’re not?” She tilts her head to the side and looks at your lips. She then looks into your eyes to see if she can find any trace of you lying. Yet she found nothing.
It was not her features that made you tense and ready to fight, it was the fact she was Shao Kahn’s daughter. Glimpsing into her mind you knew of her desire to kill Kitana and claim her existence for her own. You knew of her cruel, sadistic and hot-tempered nature.
This woman that stood before you was anything but an ally and yet you felt sympathy for her. It was not her fault that she was created to be this way. It was Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung. From this moment on, you somehow knew that her life would be rather difficult as everyone will compare her to Kitana.
Through telepathy you immediately sense Kitana was in danger to be executed by her stepfather. “Forgive me, but I must go.”
The women grabs your left arm as you try to leave. “Why in a hurry? Don’t you want to play?”
You unwrap her hand from your arm, “Sorry, but I got to save a friend. Perhaps under better circumstance we can see each other again.”
You looked into her gleeful yellow eyes seeing hope and lust behind them. Little did she know was that the two of you were fighting on opposite sides and were more likely to fight each other to the death.
As you leave the flesh pits, Mileena watches you with interest. She now knows what she desires and that is you. In her eyes, you are perfect. Nothing can change her opinion of you. She needs you in her life. She will even claim you as hers and will kill anyone who will interfere or take you away from her.

My Hero Academia: Ascension

Warning: Language
Chapter 1: Birds of a Feather-
The bitter cold winds of Japan’s early morning in the dead of winter felt crisply refreshing against a young woman’s skin as she soared through the air like her brother had done many times before in her childhood. Her white wings flapped up and down as she flew higher and higher still, eventually breaking through the clouds before she retracted her wings, releasing a deep breath out of her mouth as she stayed suspended in the air for a brief moment before her descent from the nostalgia of the past began, her feathery dark hair flowing upward as gravity dragged her down. She tucked her arms into her body as she allowed herself to twist in midair, pulling reckless mid-air maneuvers that she knew her brother would kill her for even attempting. At the last second, her amber eyes snapped open the same time her wings burst through her jacket, the young girl smirking as she effortlessly sped through Japan’s early morning air. Adrenaline pumped through the girl’s veins, her wings flapping up and down faster than before, allowing her speed to increase. She was headed toward a construction area, a mischievous glint flashing in her eyes as she flew toward it, toward the perfect obstacle course to challenge control of her powers. She flew through the unfinished building, maneuvering pretty easily around the framework of the rooms that had not yet received windows nor walls, performing sharp turns in tight spots, loop de loops on the higher floors with no ceiling... Would her brother consider this dangerous? Possibly, but he was never a stickler for the rules, so who ever said she couldn’t be similar to her brother in at least that much of an extent? Coming up on the one spot she knew she couldn’t get through without hurting her wings, the girl quickly switched gears, flipping midair as she retracted her wings once more, this time running along the beams to get through the narrow path before somersaulting off again and activating her quirk for the third time that night to soar higher into the air. “WOOOHOOOO!” She yelled in excitement at the top of her lungs as she soared upwards once more, laughing as the excitement began to dwindle down and she began her flight home, allowing the tailwinds to keep her hair out of her face. Right on cue, her phone buzzed against her leg in her pocket. Unbuttoning the designated pocket, she pulled out the device and looked at the caller ID before grimacing a bit. It was her brother, and something in her gut told her he wasn’t going to be very happy if he ever found out about the type of training she was putting herself through this early... Reluctantly, she pressed the green button, answering the call from her brother. “Kei, before you say anything, I just went for a fly to warm up my wings, I’m on my way back right now.”
“I should hope so...And don’t stop anywhere else like you did last time, okay? It’s bad enough that you go on these night flies, but staying out as long as you do leaves more opportunity for a villain to see you, chickadee... You do realize those wings don’t exactly hide you in darkness, right? With how white your wings are, you’re practically a target day or night..”
“Oh, please, like your bright red wings would hide your dumb butt any better? And that one time I didn’t come straight home, it was to grab breakfast for both of us, because if I didn’t, we’d be eating friend chicken for breakfast again.”
“Hey, what’s wrong with fried chicken? It’s my favorite...”
“Yeah, I know it is, bird brain. But the problem with it is that it’s all you ever wanna eat. Chicken and waffles is one thing, but nothing but fried chicken every night? You’re gonna make us both fat.” A laugh left the male on the other end of the phone.
“Oh come on, with all the extra flying you’re doing at night and considering that I work hard as a pro hero, we both burn it off pretty damn fast.” The statement from her brother caused the girl to deadpan.
“Kei, you literally do nothing but walk around and send your feathers flying to do the work. It’s me burning off the fried chicken you always feed us both.”
“Hey! Hasn’t no one ever taught you to respect your elders, young lady?”
“You’re my big brother who’s nearly 8 years older than me, you don’t count as an elder when you’re not even that old.” A sniff from the other line caused the girl’s eyes to go skyward.
“Hinaki, why are you always so mean to me?” Her older brother whined. Hinaki sighed heavily in response, pinching the bridge of her nose in partial annoyance. ‘Why do I even bother with him? I swear...’  She asked herself.
“I’m almost home, Keigo, and please, for the love of God, no fried chicken for breakfast this time.” Hinaki told him.
“Okay, that was uncalled for, I haven’t even...”
“Keigo Takami...”
“Fine... Ugggh, you’re so mean, I swear.”
“You mean just like how you’re annoying at times? Damn straight, and I love your bird brained dumbass anyways.”
“Love you too, baby bird.”
"Okay, when are you going to stop calling me that? I’m not a baby anymore.”
“Yeah, I know you’re not, but you still are my little sister, Hina.”
“Not so little anymore, but...”
“I know, I know... See you in a minute, birdie.”
“See you in a minute, bird brain...” Came Hinaki’s soft reply before the siblings hung up the phone. A sigh left Hinaki’s lips before she glided down to the front gate of the home she shared with her older brother...
Since childhood, Hinaki knew of the hero world, having been raised within the Hero Public Safety Commission only because Keigo had refused to train if she hadn’t been with him, kept safe and protected from potential threats. Not too long after she turned four, she gained her quirk: Steel Wings, and she still had the scars on her back from the first time she found out why her wings needed to go back to normal before retreating into her back. Wings that she could use to fly as fast as Hawks, if not faster, and feathers she could use as weapons or just use the entirety of her wings as a sturdy shield. The white wings had grown with her as she had gotten older, relying on her big brother to teach her how to control her newfound power of flight and the rules of combat in order to defend herself in his absence... Training that came in handy in more ways than one, as she came to realize. The first time she watched Keigo fight as a pro hero, she knew exactly what she wanted to use her quirk for... Though telling her brother that she wanted to become a hero hadn’t exactly gone smooth as silk at first....
Keigo was waiting in the kitchen with a protein shake waiting for Hinaki when she set foot in the house. “Hi, birdie.” He greeted her as he took in the wide awake eyes that were identical to his own in shape and in color. Both Takami siblings shared the same golden brown, triangle shaped eyes with two little triangles just below their tear ducts. Though, while both siblings had feathery hair, Keigo’s was ash blonde in color, while Hinaki’s was darker, closer to chocolate brown like their mother’s had been. At 22 years old, Keigo was known to the rest of the world as Hawks, though in the current moment, he was just Hinaki’s laid back for the most part, but protective, older brother.
“Hi, Kei.” Hinaki greeted her brother back, stretching her arms a bit before accepting the protein shake and taking a gulp of it.
“Drink up and replenish those muscles, kiddo. After morning training, you’re hitting to books and studying today. The entrance exams for UA are just a few months away, you know.”
“I know, it’s not like I’ve been training for the past nearly 6 months now for nothing... I know the deal, Kei. Train hard, study hard in order to get into UA. I’ve been working really hard...”
“So you can have the choice I never did in becoming a hero... But not just that. You’ll be learning from pro-heroes that had been students at the school years before you. You might even get to make new friends and be able to interact with new people your age.”
“Oh, goodie...” Hinaki’s voice dripped with sarcasm, making Keigo give her a look. He knew why Hinaki had made that comment, meeting new people was not one of her strong suits, tending to hide away and allow him to do the talking more often than not. Deciding to attend UA alone was a huge step for her, not only in becoming a hero, but also in conquering the anxieties she felt about meeting new people before it hindered her as a pro hero.
“Hey, none of that, you’re gonna be fine, you’ll see.” He firmly reassured his sister. The look she shot him told him she wasn’t exactly convinced of it herself. Before she could walk away from him, he made her turn back around to face her and cupped her face in his hands. “Hinaki Takami, you’re one of the most incredible people I’ve ever known. You’re quiet, sure, but you’ve got a heart of gold. You’re quick on your feet, and even faster in the air, you’re talented, smart... I might be your brother, but trust me when I say you’re going to become one of the best heroes in the world if not the absolute best and I’m not just saying that. You. Got. This. Baby. Sister.” The grin on his face made Hinaki giggle, the sound making Keigo’s grin grow even wider. With the final words of encouragement, the two Takami siblings went their separate ways, the younger counterpart heading to her school: Jakku Jr. High. Due to her silent nature, Hinaki didn’t have many friends, preferring to eat lunch on the rooftop, where she could be alone and think. But, as she ate lunch that day at school, all she could think about were the upcoming exams. What kind of tests would U.A. put her through? She knew there would be a practical exam and a written exam, but she was more worried about the practical part of it. How would they test the students quirks? The only thing she knew she could do to prepare was study for the written and train so she’d be ready for anything when it came to the practical.
Over the next four months, that was exactly what she did... She trained hard the nights she couldn’t sleep and every chance she got after school, she studied hard and aced every test she was given in school. Her hard work didn’t pass by her brother, who came home to a plate of food in the microwave and his sister either studying, training outside in the backyard or fast asleep on the couch. He smiled every time he caught sight of her and ate his food before either training with her, studying with her or carrying her to bed in his arms. A couple months before the entrance exams, after carrying his exhausted sister to bed, Keigo decided to do something he knew Hinaki wouldn’t like... But, hey, it was for her own good.
The morning of the exams, Keigo had to leave early for work, but left notes of encouragement by Hinaki’s beside, in the bathroom, and next to a plate of warm and nutritious breakfast for her. When Hinaki woke up to her alarm clock going off, she noticed the little note her brother had left on her bedside. She picked it up and read it: Hey chickadee, sorry I couldn’t see you off, but I know you’re gonna do great. I’ll see you after work, kiddo, and I love you.
- Your Big brother, Keigo
Hinaki shook her head with a smile before gathering a backless high collar top, a pair of black shorts and other things she needed before going into the bathroom and kick starting her morning routine. In the bathroom, she found the note Keigo left for her on the mirror.
Take a look at the mirror, chickadee and you’ll see the hero I’ve always seen in you. By the way, there’s a plate waiting on the table for you, don’t skip giving your brain and body power, ‘kay?
Hinaki glanced at her reflection in the mirror, shaking her head as her brother’s written words echoed in her mind as if he had spoken them to her just before he had left. He had always seen a hero in her? How? She shook the doubt out of her mind and continued getting ready.
As she descended down the stairs just a few minutes later, she pulled her dark, feathery hair back into a ponytail, her hair swaying as she headed toward the food waiting for her on the table. Next to the plate was the third and final note.
Eat up, chickadee, you’ll need to feed that smart brain of yours. I won’t tell you good luck because I know you got this. I believe in you, kiddo, more than anyone or anything... And that’s saying something, because you know how much I look up to Endeavor.
By the time Hinaki left, she couldn’t remember what she was so nervous about... With a brother like the one I have, who has time for insecurities? Hinaki asked herself as she flew toward U.A. High School. Though it was early in the morning, her bird’s eye view was able to pick up a few people commuting to work and or school, including a green haired boy training on Dagoba Municipal Park Beach below her. She notice him look up for a second and gave a friendly wave to him as his eyes landed on her.
As she touched down in front of U.A. High, however, the confidence she’d had earlier dissipated. The school was HUGE. She blinked for a second before shaking it off, forcing herself to walk forward and shoving down the doubts that threatened to make her turn on her heel and run away. Her body slightly trembled as she walked through the doors of U.A. for the first time, but she steeled her mind against her fears. If she was going to be a student at U.A., let alone a pro hero, she couldn’t let her fears get to her, no matter how nervous she was... She took a seat in the designated area, looking around. Not many people were there, and a quick glance at the clock on the wall told her that she was actually early. She sat silently for a moment, observing everyone else as more and more people entered the room, talking among themselves. The hushed whispers of the first few slowly turned into a buzzing noise as it grew closer to the time appointed for the entrance exams to start. Hinaki closed her eyes, letting her ears not focus on one single voice or conversation, but allowing herself to block it all out. If her wings had been out, she knew they’d be vibrating like crazy from the noise, thankfully being tucked away for the moment...
“Excuse me, is this seat taken?” A voice interrupted Hinaki’s thoughts, causing the winged teen to open her eyes and turn her attention to the source. A girl around her age was standing near her. Her hair was jet black, tied up and out of her face in a high ponytail, her eyes a charcoal grey color. Only shaking her head in reply, Hinaki silently gestured for the girl to sit down next to her. The teen next to her bowed. “Thank you.” She replied before sitting down next to Hinaki before taking out a thermos and a mug, unscrewing the cap as she continued to speak. “Would you like some tea? I noticed you were looking a little nervous earlier, and since tea always calms my nerves, I figured I’d offer.” Straightening up a bit as the girl poured the tea into the mug, Hinaki nodded, murmuring a small,
“Thank you.” As the girl gave her the mug of tea. Keeping her hands warm around it for a moment, Hinaki watched as a part of the girl’s stomach began to glow before another mug appeared, making Hinaki’s eyes widen. Noticing the look on Hinaki’s face, the girl giggled.
“It’s my quirk: Creation. I can use the lipids in my body to create anything non-living... That is, as long as I know the chemical makeup of it. The more I eat, the more I can create.” She explained.
“That’s a pretty cool quirk.” Hinaki commented, making the girl blush in embarrassment.
“Oh, please, you’re too kind... I’m Momo, by the way. Momo Yayorozu.” She introduced herself. Hinaki smiled softly in response.
“I’m Hinaki. Hinaki Takami... It’s nice to meet you, Yayorozu-chan.” Hinaki replied, an identical smile spreading across Yayorozu’s face.
“Same to you, Takami-chan.” Yayorozu responded cheerfully, the girls talking a bit more while drinking tea. After a bit, all the chatter in the room was interrupted by the intercom going off.
“YEEEEEAH! HELLO, LISTENERS AND WELCOME TO THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAMS!” The voice over the intercom boomed. The girls exchanged looks.
“Was that Present Mic?” Hinaki asked.
“I believe so...” Yayorozu trailed off before Present Mic continued.
“ALL RIGHT, YOU COOL CATS ARE HERE BECAUSE WE RECEIVED RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ALL OF YOU! HOWEVER, AS YOU’RE ALL WELL AWARE, ONLY SIX OF YOU WILL BE TAKING UP THE RECOMMENDATION SPOTS, SO I HOPE YOU’RE ALL READY!”
“6 spots, huh... That sure is a lot of pressure...” Yayorozu murmured, meanwhile Hinaki’s mind was racing to figure out why she would be part of the students who were recommended to the school faculty. But, her thoughts came to a halt on the one person she should’ve guessed the first time around and deadpanned at the thought of her brother sending in a recommendation into U.A. for her. Really, Keigo? She thought, making a mental note to talk to her brother when he got home.
“ALL RIGHT, SO THIS IS HOW IT’S ALL GONNA GO DOWN. ALL OF YOU WILL BE DIVIDED INTO GROUPS, AND EACH GROUP WILL HAVE THE WRITTEN AND PRACTICAL EXAMS AS WELL AS AN INTERVIEW! TO ENSURE THAT NO ONE KNOWS WHAT TO EXPECT, THE PRACTICAL EXAMS WILL BE DIFFERENT FOR EACH GROUP!” Present Mic finished explaining the entrance exams before a different voice came onto the intercom.
“We’ll start with the interview. When your name is called, you will be interviewed by one of the teachers here before the written exam. Good luck.” With that, the intercom shut off.
“Not exactly words of encouragement...” Hinaki mumbled under her breath, her nerves returning.
“Don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll do just fine, Takami-chan.” Yayorozu encouraged her new friend, Hinaki giving a small smile back.
“Thanks... With any luck, we’ll both end up getting into U.A. and be in the same class.” Hinaki grinned at her new friend, making the other girl smile back in response.
“I hope so too.” Yayorozu replied before Hinaki felt a chill in the air and shivered slightly, glancing around the room before noticing him...
The boy looked around 5 foot 9, 5 inches taller than her, with red hair on the left side of his head while right side of his hair was white in color, and Hinaki's sharp eyes caught that his eyes were the same way: His right eye was a grey color while the left eye was a turquoise blue that looked familiar to her for some reason... Over his left eye, however, Hinaki noticed a huge scar and wondered what happened to him to cause a scar like that...
Just as her thoughts started to run, he turned his head, the cold look in his eyes making her feathery hair ruffle before she quickly looked away. "What's wrong?" Yayorozu asked, noticing the look on her face. For a moment, Hinaki considered telling Yayorozu about the boy, but chose to keep her mouth shut, shaking her head.
"It's nothing, don't worry." She gave her friend a reassuring smile before it dropped as soon as Yayorozu looked away. What was with the cold look in the boy's eyes?
"Hinaki Takami." A female voice on the intercom called Hinaki's name. Hinaki swallowed before standing up, feeling Yayorozu gently pat her back to silently wish her luck. Hinaki smiled at Yayorozu in thanks before walking toward the closed door to the office. She paused at the office door to take a deep breath in order to keep herself calm before opening the door. She was greeted by a female hero, one she recognized as Midnight. “You must be Hinaki Takami, correct?” She asked. The younger girl nodded in response.
“Yes, ma’am. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Hinaki politely responded with a bow, Midnight smiling at her.
“Go ahead and have a seat and we’ll begin.” Midnight told Hinaki, the younger woman taking the seat across from Midnight, her back straight as the interview began. It went on for a good hour or so, and Hinaki found herself more relaxed the longer she talked with Midnight. “All right, Hinaki, I only have one question left for you at this time.” Midnight said as she adjusted the papers on the desk before looking at Hinaki once again. “Every hero has their reason... Some are in it for the fame and fortune, others simply want to do what’s right. I guess what I’m asking is, what’s your reason for wanting to be a hero?” Midnight asked. The question caused Hinaki’s eyes to look away in thought. It was certainly something she didn’t think about too often, the training she went through with her brother was bonus time with him whenever she could get it while learning how to defend herself. After a moment, Hinaki’s amber eyes returned to Midnight, the woman’s eyes showing her eagerness, yet patience, to hear the answer to the last question of the interview. The young girl’s reflected her determination.
“I want to be a hero to protect people. My brother didn’t react well at first when I told him I wanted to be a pro hero, and who can blame him? The line of work itself is dangerous, but I can’t sit still on the sidelines anymore, especially not when I have the power to help... Not with my brother risking his life as a pro. I’d give anything to be a hero and protect people, even my quirk. I’d rather be quirkless in a world safe from villains rather than have a ton of power in a world where innocent lives are constantly put at stake. I’m risking sounding like Hawks here with this next part, but I think the goal should be a world where pro heroes have too much time on their hands.” Hinaki answered, Midnight smiling at the girl’s response.
“Thank you, Hinaki. That’s all the time we have, but I wish you the best of luck in the written and practical exams.” Midnight told the young girl as both women stood and bowed to each other.
“Thank you.” Hinaki replied before she stepped out of the office. Hinaki caught glances with Yayorozu on her way to the area for the written test, giving her new friend a smile and a thumbs up before entering the designated area for the written exam. Now that the interview was over, she knew it’d be a piece of cake for her. She’d studied pretty damn hard to ace the written test, and it didn’t hurt that she had grown stronger from the training with Keigo either, but the nagging question of whether or not it’d be enough kept tugging at the back of her mind. That one insecurity kept rearing its ugly head like a parasite no one could get rid of. Sitting in a seat near the back, Hinaki shook it off once more. No... She could do this. Keigo believes in her, and he’s the 3rd ranked pro hero in Japan, as he had been for the past 4 years. She just had to have confidence in herself, no matter how difficult it was for her...
Before Hinaki knew it, the written exam was complete, and she was lined up with her group at a pair of giant gates, dressed in her workout clothes. She looked around at the fellow examinees around her before her eyes landed on a familiar head of jet black hair. Hinaki smiled and once Yayorozu’s eyes caught sight of her, Hinaki waved in greeting, gaining a smile and a wave back. “Takami-chan, how do you think you did with the interview and written exam?”
“I feel like I did good with both, hopefully it was enough to get in.” Hinaki replied, rubbing the back of her neck sheepishly. “What about you? How do you think you did?”
“Honestly, I feel like I did well, but that just leaves one test remaining...”
“Right, the practical.” The girls faced the gates. “What do you think the practical exam's gonna be?” Hinaki asked.
“I’m not sure... It could be anything, from endurance to strength tests... Honestly, that just means we have to be ready for anything." Yayorozu told her, the other teen nodding in agreement.
"Right." Hinaki replied. Before either girl could say anything more, the intercom turned on.
"Right, then... Group Gamma, your practical exam is simple: Defeat as many faux villains as you can. There'll be certain targets that are worth a certain amount of points, but the biggest targets are worth zero. Try to avoid the biggest targets as much as you can. You'll have 10 minutes to gain as many points as you can. Good luck." The girls exchanged glances.
"Faux villains?" Yayorozu asked.
"Sounds like they'll be robots.... Least, that's my guess. I doubt they'll put us against the faculty when we're not even students yet." Hinaki responded, speaking what was on her mind.
“That’s true.” Yayorozu stated before the gates slowly began to open. The girls stood at the ready.
“Here we go.” Hinaki told her friend. Just as she finished her sentence, an air horn sounded off, sounding the start of the practical test. Hinaki’s feet automatically moved, running through the gates with the others. Once she was clear from the others, her wings sprouted from her back, allowing her to take off into the air as she pulled two feather blades the size of swords from its sheath on her back, flying straight for the robots in her path. She sliced through them both with ease, taking a sharp turn to encounter more. She sliced through them, at the same time, keeping a watchful eye on the other examinees as she took down faux villains. She sliced through robot after robot, all the while, a few of her feathers left her wings to help the fellow examinees in harm’s way. Yayorozu paused for a moment as she watched the way Hinaki fought... Something about the airborne female’s movements reminded her of Hawks... But why?
Just as the thought entered her mind, a few white feathers flew past her to dig into the faux villain that had snuck up on her, allowing her to follow up with an attack that destroyed the faux villain all together while Hinaki flew by several feet above her, the feathers she had sent out returning to her wings. “Might wanna pay attention to the fight, Ponytail.” Hinaki teased from above her head. Yayorozu rolled her eyes at the smirk on her face.
“Thanks for the assist.” Yayorozu thanked her, ignoring the joking comment and gaining a salute in reply. One by one, the number of smaller faux villains shrank more and more in size. As Hinaki sliced down yet another, she heard a scream. Turning her head, she saw one of the students frozen in fright as one or the bigger faux villains headed toward them. Judging by the looks of those scratches on the robot, they had tried taking down the faux villain only to realize that their quirk didn't have enough power. She looked toward the other smaller faux villains before ultimately reaching her decision and diving for the student. While she sent a few feathers to get the student to safety, she somersaulted in mid air, pulling her wings into her back for a brief moment to let herself fall, slicing the robot in half as she fell before landing nimbly on her feet, her feather blade held out to one side as her wings reemerged from her back, straightening out behind her. Her wings flapped a little as she stood up straight, her snow white feathers returning to her as she turned to the student she had helped. "You okay?" She asked the student, holding out her hand. She noticed it was a female around her age, with crimson eyes, pale skin and ebony black hair that hung in her face slightly. The girl glared at her before smacking her hand away and standing up on her own.
"I'm perfectly fine, you shouldn't have helped me." She snarled in response. Hinaki blinked in surprise before her eyebrow went up and she placed her hands on her hips.
"Oh, so I was supposed to let you get crushed by that thing? What kind of hero would that make me?" She asked.
"You're not a hero, you're nothing but a wannabe trying to copy her big brother." The girl snapped in retaliation.
"Oh, really? Then why are you here? You talk about how I'm a wannabe hero, but you're here for the same exact reason, aren't you? I know you want to be a hero too. If the opposite was true, you wouldn't be here right now." Hinaki pointed out, the girl pausing before growling.
"Just stay out my way, bird brain." She snapped before hesitating a minute. Just as Hinaki opened her mouth to ask what was wrong, the girl manipulated some water from the pouch that was slung across her shoulders. The water covered the girl's hand and made it glow aqua blue as she touched a deep cut on Hinaki's right wing, a cut that the winged teenager herself had failed to notice. The wound itself glowed aqua blue itself before disappearing entirely as the girl lifted her hand. "There, bird brain. Now, we're even." The girl told her, not meeting her eyes before runnning off, not giving Hinaki a chance to thank her. Hinaki blinked as she watched the girl go. What the hell was that about? She asked herself before shaking it off and continuing to fight.
Before she knew it, the airhorn blared once again, marking the end of the practical exam. Hinaki once again sheathed her feather blades and relaxed so her wings once again retreated into her back. She spotted an old woman hobbling toward her. She noticed that the old woman looked like a nurse and smiled, recognizing her as the healing hero, Recovery Girl.
"Are you all right, dearie?" She asked the younger woman. Hinaki checked herself over and nodded.
"I have a couple scratches, but it's nothing I can't take care of myself. You'll need your strength for those who truly need it." Hinaki told her with a smile. Recovery Girl smiled back before nodding and walking away toward the next examinee. Hinaki's amber eyes searched the area for her new friend, the smile dropping and her brow creasing when she didn't spot her. She was about to release her wings out of her back to look for her when she heard a shout behind her.
"Hey, Takami-chan!" Hinaki turned at her name, relief flooding her face as she spotted Yayorozu behind her.
"Yayorozu, glad to see you're okay." Hinaki replied.
"Same to you. I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out together sometime. Even if one of us doesn't make it in, I still want to keep in touch and be friends... If you're willing to, that is." Yayorozu replied. Hinaki smiled.
"I'd like that." Hinaki replied, making Yayorozu excitedly squeal before creating a pen, taking Hinaki's hand and writing down her phone number. "This is my cell phone number. Call me when you get home, okay?" She asked. Hinaki nodded before taking the pen and writing her number down on Yayorozu's hand.
"Here's mine, just so you'll know it's me." Hinaki replied with a smile, causing her new friend to smile back before the girls left the arena together.
A few hours later, Hinaki was studying at home for the finals to wrap up her 3rd year at her junior high. She was listening to music with one earbud in while twirling her pencil in her hand, her golden eyes scanning the pages of her textbook. But, for some reason, she couldn't focus... Why had the boy in the hall looked so familiar to her? She sighed and shook her head, rubbing her eyes a bit and glancing at the time on her phone. 9:30... Kei should have been home by now... Hinaki thought to herself. She had made dinner a couple hours before, and had already eaten. Keigo's plate had been left in the microwave for him like always, and yet here she was, studying on the couch just to wait up for him. She shook her head once more to keep herself awake. However, her eyes kept sliding shut despite her best efforts to stay alert long enough to continue studying. She felt tired, but she couldn't sleep now. She had a test to prepare for....
She jolted awake a while later to a pair of arms slipping under her and lifting her from the couch. She automatically lifted her fists before the soft hushing from her brother caused her to relax against his chest, fatigue taking over the young woman. "You gotta stop staying up so late, chickadee. I know you were studying, but you're gonna end up brain fried if you don't give your all-star brain time to rest too, you know." The 22-year-old's voice rumbled in his chest as he told her, his comment earning a small grunt in response as the pro hero carried her with ease up the stairs and into her room, setting her down on her bed and tucking her in. By the time Keigo had kissed her forehead and left the room, Hinaki had already gone back to sleep.
The following week was nothing short of torturous waiting for Hinaki. Between studying for the upcoming final exams plus training, she had very little free time to worry about the results... "Hey, you know, rumors have been flying around that All Might's gonna be teaching at UA this year." Keigo told her one night during dinner.
"Oh, yeah? That'll be interesting. Wonder what subject he'll end up teaching." Hinaki replied, her head tipped to one side in thought. Though her voice and face didn't show any of her excitement, her mind was bubbling with the possibility of the Number 1 Hero teaching her.
"Probably the Heroes 101 if I had to guess... He is number one, after all. If you're gonna learn how to be a hero, you might as well learn from the best, right?" Keigo asked before smiling a bit. "By the way, I can tell you're excited just by that news, you can hide it from anybody else, but forget it when it comes to me. I can read you like an open book."
"Kei, I'm not exactly holding my breath here, it's just rumors for now... But, the thought of being taught by All Might is really cool." Hinaki answered her brother with a sheepish smile before blinking, her smile dropping. "Don't get me wrong, training with you is just as awesome too..."
"Chickadee, calm down, it's okay. Besides, I know we haven't had much time to train together especially in recent years... I taught you as much as I could from a big brother stand point. Now, it's up to the teachers for the boring but essential part of it." Keigo told her.
"That is, if I get in." Hinaki replied, glancing off to the side.
"Hey, what did I say about that? Stop it. You're gonna get into UA, and you're gonna be freaking awesome because you're Hinaki Takami, damn it. You're a badass through and through, on the ground and in the air. You're gonna be an amazing pro hero because you've got the heart and the drive that every great pro hero has. If I'm wrong, I'll never eat chicken again." Hinaki stared at her brother. Those were words that she thought he'd never utter in his life. "What?"
"You're that serious?" Hinaki asked.
"Hell yeah, I'm that serious. Kiddo, I've been watching you since you were little. You've always worked hard to become a pro since you first got your quirk and I'm proud as fuck with how far you've come. You've got just a bit further to go, but I can already tell that you're gonna help so many people, birdie." Keigo told her. Hinaki smiled.
"If I am, it's only because I had the best big brother anyone can ever ask for growing up." Hinaki responded to her brother's praise. Keigo grinned at her counter praise and winked, shifting so he was close enough to wrap his arm around her.
"And as your big brother, I'll always be here to continue helping you. Always." He promised, giving her a side squeeze that made her giggle. He grinned in response before letting her go and the two continued to eat together.
"By the way..." As soon as Hinaki spoke again, she watched as Keigo stiffen slightly. "I was told a certain little bird sent in a reccomendation letter for me. You wouldn't happen to know anything about that, would you?" Hinaki asked before her brother laughed nervously. "Keigo..."
"Okay, so I did, but come on. You deserve it. The kids that train under the wing of the Hero Safety Commission? They don't do half the shit you do when it comes to training, let alone have to go to school at the same time like you do. Besides, if I can give you a hand in becoming a pro, I wanna do as much as I can." Keigo pointed out.
"Yeah, but the whole point of me training was so that you wouldn't have to." Hinaki told him.
"I mean, it's already been done, what'd you want me to do?" Keigo asked with a shrug and a slight smirk. Hinaki rolled her eyes. "Hey." Hinaki looked at her brother. "I love you, birdie. I was only trying to help, you know."
"I know, and I love you too." Hinaki replied as the two finished their food, bringing their dishes to the sink.
Just a few days after the conversation, Hinaki sat motionless on the couch, staring at the envelope addressed to her. The seal on the back indicated that it was from UA, more than likely with her test results. Should she wait for Keigo to open it? Or just tell him what the letter held for her? She blinked a couple times before shaking her head. Better late than never... She ultimately decided before she broke the seal on the back, her hands trembling from the anticipation. But, instead of a letter, was a little metal disc. She raised an eyebrow, turning it over and over in her hands. What the? But, just as she set it down on the coffee table in front of her, it lit up, coming to life. A loud, boisterous laughter filled the room before a muscular figure came in view. His eyes had been sucken in over the years, but his bunny ear like blond hair and bright grin were more than a little recognizable. "Hello, young Takami! I am here to give you your test results!" Hinaki blinked in surprise.
"All Might? So, the rumors about you coming to teach at UA were true, then." Hinaki answered.
"That's right, young Takami! However, I'll be only one of the teachers at UA High this year! Now, before I get too ahead of myself, onto your results! You passed the written exam at the top of the recommended students, and the practical allowed you to shine brightly, only coming in second to one recommended student. But, young Takami, you didn't just gain Villain points in the practical. You see, there was a secret point value we were looking for... After all, what's the point in being a hero if you can't rescue those in danger? You didn't hesitate to help one of the fellow examinees in trouble, earning you 50 rescue points. But, there's one more thing I want to show you before we move ahead." All Might stepped off to the side as a small video popped up, showing a video of Midnight.
"For someone so young, I have to admit, it surprised me a little that Hinaki has a level head on her shoulders. She shares the same idea as Hawks in that we should aim for a society where heroes have too much time on their hands, yet in contrast to Hawks appearing relaxed no matter the situation, Hinaki looks more than ready for even the worst case scenario, which is something we need in more heroes if I'm completely honest... I can't wait to see the hero she's going to become."
"That's right, young Takami. Though Hawks was the one who recommended you, he's not the only pro excited to see how you'll continue to grow as a fledgling hero. With that in mind, young Takami, it's my pleasure to officially welcome you to the Hero Academia. You've made it in, welcome to U.A." All Might congratulated her. Hinaki smiled brightly back.
"I can't wait to learn from you, All Might." Hinaki replied before All Might signed off and the Holographic disc went quiet once more. Hinaki trembled with excitement before a holler of joy left her, her wings flapping hard and fast in excitement to lift her up into the air slightly before she touched back down. A laugh left her as she ran her fingers through her feathery dark hair, her golden amber eyes lit up in joy.
Wait till I tell Keigo....

WWE Shield!Bodyguard AU fanfic
Dean Ambrose x FMcMahon!Heiress
Rating: M (for safety)
Warnings: Nothing too graphic, but someone is beaten, predatory behavior towards women, main character has anxiety/panic etc. (But again, nothing too graphic)
Tumblr media
The midmorning sun was hiding behind gloomy clouds, which reflected Dean’s mood at having to be awake.  He was definitely more of a night owl and wasn’t excited at the prospect of being up and about before noon.  Mornings were for sleeping in.  But when he got a call from a blast from his past, he was intrigued enough to leave his bed instead of catching a few extra z’s.
 Dean jogged across the street, flinging his hand up when a car honked at him.  When he reached his destination, he felt a wave of nostalgia wash over him.  Police Precinct number 11.  It had been years since he’d been inside, but it looked and felt exactly the same.  Cops chatting over shitty coffee, belligerent yelling coming from the holding cells.
 A voice cut through the din and drew his attention.
 “Ambrose, I didn’t think you got my message,” a large man with tan skin called out, waving him over.  Detective Dave Bautista, while up in years, still looked formidable.  When he raised his hand, his wrinkled button-up looked like it was straining to stay in one piece.
 “Detective, you look like shit,” Dean responded, taking in his disheveled attire and dark circles under his eyes.
 The detective rolled his eyes and muttered a curse under his breath.
 “And here I thought you might have grown up, follow me.”
 Dean gave his old friend a ‘who me?’ look before following the man to his office.
 The office was cluttered, filled with boxes and papers strewn about. Dean peeked into one of the boxes, seeing a framed photo of Bautista accepting a commendation from the police chief and the mayor.
 “Are ya feng shui’ing in here?” Dean asked, using the framed photo to gesture to the half-full boxes.
 “It’s what I called you here for,” Bautista said, shutting the door and closing the blinds.  He walked back over to his desk and pulled a thick folder from his desk.  Dean put the frame back in the box and crossed his arms.  He sauntered over to the desk and stared at the folder on the desk.  The folder looked like it had been through a war, creased and taped to hell and back.
 “Is that what I think it is?”
 The detective sighed and sat in his chair.
 “It is.  Also the reason for the boxes.  I’ve been put on suspension to ‘get with the program and leave ghosts in the past,” he muttered.
 Dean sucked air through his teeth and shook his head.  For as long as he knew him, Detective Dave Bautista had a lifelong mission.  Bring down the McMahon family.  On the surface, the family seemed normal, aside from the millions of dollars in the bank.  The family ran several businesses, did the requisite charities and ribbon-cutting ceremonies.  But there was a dark layer underneath the gilt facade. There were rumors of backroom deals, protection rackets, drug running, fraud, embezzlement, bought cops, the whole nine yards. The family was untouchable though, brushing off the suspicion and accusations like water off a duck.
 “Damn man, that’s gotta sting.  But why am I here?”
 Bautista leaned forward to flip open the folder and slide it across the desk.  The top paper was a full-page photo of the McMahon family. Patriarch Vince McMahon in the center flanked by his family; Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, Shane McMahon, and the youngest Elizabeth McMahon.  Elizabeth’s face was circled in red ink.
 “Elizabeth McMahon, the youngest of Vince’s kids.”
 Dean nodded.
 “Yeah, I know.  She’s been in the news a lot this year, for charity events.”
 “She’s become the new face of the McMahon family, fresh out of grad school.  She’s the key Ambrose.  I think I can flip her,” Bautista informed the younger man.  Dean’s eyes widened.
 “That’s ambitious,” the younger man muttered, flipping through the top photos, all of Elizabeth at various events.
 “I was getting so close, and bam! I had upstairs up my ass, telling me to leave it alone.  Before I knew it, I got hit with a suspension.”
 Dean tossed the photo of the pretty brunette back into the pile.
 “Still not hearing why I’m here though.”
 Bautista rifled through his papers, pulling a photo of Elizabeth with a large suited man following at her elbow.  Dean whistled.
 “That is a big man.”
 “This was Elizabeth McMahon’s bodyguard, Paul Wight aka Big Show.”
 “Was?”
 Another photo was tossed across the desk, this time showing an autopsy photo of said man, beaten to a pulp.
 “Jesus, what the hell happened to him?”
 “A week ago, I think Elizabeth tried to make a run for it.  Mr. Wight may have tried to help her.  When she was recovered by some of her father’s men, he said he lost track of her temporarily,” he added when Dean’s eyebrow rose.
 “Something tells me Mr. McMahon wasn’t pleased,” he said, tapping the photo.
 “No, he wasn’t.  Which brings me to you.  I’ve been keeping my ear to the ground, and Elizabeth still hasn’t been assigned a new bodyguard.”
 Dean froze, knowing exactly where he was going.
 “Oh no no no.  I’m out.”
 “Dean, come on.  I’m so close to putting that family away for good.  You’ve got the credentials.  Elizabeth wants out and even though she’s Vince’s daughter, I don’t think he’s gonna let her go.  Not if she talks.”
 The blonde ran his hand through his hair.  He felt guilty. Detective Dave Bautista might have been a hard-ass when he was younger, but he helped Dean, bailed him out too many times to count.  It was thanks to him that Dean was able to be where he was now.  The best friends, no brothers, he could ask for and a career he loved.  He looked around the office, and at the detective at his desk.
 Bautista looked tired but he still had hope.  Hope that he’d be able to take down the family that caused so much death in his city.  Dean picked up a photo of Elizabeth, she was smiling and talking to a young patient in a hospital.  Her smile was genuine and he felt a pang of guilt when he realized she wouldn’t be able to leave her family without help.  She’d either be beaten down until she has no willpower left, becoming a cog in the bloody McMahon machine, or she would be killed.
 Dean groaned.
 “If I agree to this, what makes you think they’d hire me anyway?”
 Bautista smiled a grin that seemed to take years off the older man’s face.
 “I have a plan.”
 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 A crowd applauded as Elizabeth McMahon presented an oversized check to an after-school program.  She shook hands with some of the kids, giving a few high fives or hugs.  She made her way back to the podium.
 “This is just one of the many charities that my family believes in, and we appreciate all the support you’ve given us.  Together we can help make a difference for our community. Thank you again and please enjoy yourselves,” she concluded to another round of applause.
 The crowd dispersed to mingle and get drinks.  Elizabeth chatted with the charity directors before stepping off the stage.  She made small talk with some of the attendees when a manicured hand gripped her elbow.
 “I’m gonna borrow my sister for a moment, please excuse us,” Stephanie apologized. The group released Elizabeth from their chatter, complementing the older sister on their family’s success and generosity.  Stephanie smiled wide and nodded her thanks before ushering her sister to the side.
 Elizabeth kept up her smile, even though her sister’s nails dug into her skin.  She racked her mind, trying to figure out why Stephanie might be angry with her.  The duo ducked into an unused room.
 The younger sister pulled her arm away, flexing her muscles.
 “Good thing I brought a cardigan.  I’m sure the interview this evening will go well with bruises on my arm,” she snapped, staring at the redness of her skin.
 Stephanie rolled her eyes at her sister’s dramatics.
 “Change of plans, Father dearest wants you to meet him.  I’ll be speaking on your behalf.”
 Elizabeth narrowed her eyes.
 “It’s an interview I’ve been preparing for weeks.  You aren’t even a part of the board for the charity.”
 The elder sister smirked and waved her hand dismissively.
 “Please, as if I couldn’t handle some local news junket. Blah blah blah money for the less fortunate, blah blah we are so blessed to be able to help, blah blah blah, the children are our future.  Finish with a big smile and handshake.  See, not too hard,” she mimed with a schooled professional face.
 “So what does Dad need me for?” Elizabeth sighed, knowing she didn’t have a leg to stand on against her older sister.
 “You need a new bodyguard after the last one ‘left’.”  The smile on Stephanie’s face caused her sister to internally shudder.
 Elizabeth liked her old bodyguard, Paul aka Big Show. He was a gentle giant with her, and his massive size proved to be a formidable deterrent to anyone who would do her wrong.  And her father had him killed for one mistake.  Her mistake.  But this could be her chance.  Stephanie would be busy with the interview, and her husband, Hunter, would stay by her side.  That left her driver, she could persuade him to stop somewhere, and she’d make a break for it.
 “Orton will be escorting you,” her sister said, breaking her reverie.
 “Oh, surely that isn’t necessary.  My driver can take me.  Mr. Orton should be here, keeping an eye on you two.  He is after all assigned to you,” Elizabeth protested.
 “He’s going with you.  No discussion.”  Stephanie raised a brow at her sister’s refusal.  “This defiance lately needs to stop.  Remember, all this-” she said, motioning to the event down the hall, “Is for the family.  Not you.”
 Elizabeth bit her tongue.  It was the truth.  All the charities, all the speeches, all the donations.  It was just a way for her family to mask their crimes.  And she was the smiling face, the front.  And she’d never get out.
 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Elizabeth hated being alone with Randy Orton.  Known as the Viper, he had worked for her family for almost twenty years, longer than most.  Ever since she was a child, the Viper was always around, watching, waiting.  Her older brother had used stories of Orton to frighten her into compliance when she was younger.  They had frightened her and when she grew up, she realized they weren’t exaggerated tales to keep her in bed at night. Randy Orton was a dangerous man, a fact she learned when she saw him standing over one of her father’s business partners, covered in blood.
 It was late, and an 8-year-old Elizabeth McMahon was tired of her father’s party.  They were never fun, just a bunch of her father’s friends.  There were rarely any children her age, and her siblings were much older than her. However, her father instructed the two older McMahon children to keep an eye on their sister, no matter how much they complained. Elizabeth was hovering around her older brother Shane when he grew annoyed at her presence. She didn’t remember what she had done but he told her that Father had gotten her a special present and it was in one of the unused rooms in the basement.  (To keep her from finding it, Shane explained when she looked skeptical.)  After all, the basement was off-limits to Elizabeth, citing it was only for the adults. But Shane cajoled and spun an elaborate tale of the fantastic present waiting for her, that he couldn’t believe his little sister wouldn’t want to go find it.
 Feeling emboldened by the attention she was receiving from her older brother and his friends, she agreed to his plan.  With Shane leading the way, Elizabeth followed. Looking back, she should have noticed the way Shane’s friends were holding in their laughter, but she was so excited at the prospect of a gift and wondering what it could be, she didn’t see the signs until it was too late.
 The dark room was mostly empty, with a few tables and some chairs stacked in the corner.  By the time she had realized there was no present, Shane had shut the door and locked her in.  Far away from the party and anyone that could hear her, Elizabeth was alone and trapped.  She pulled on the doorknob, shaking it relentlessly, banging on the solid door to no avail.  What felt like hours later, but probably only 15 minutes later, she was exhausted from panic.  The child curled up in a pile of unused tablecloths, the musty smell tickling her nose.  She didn’t remember falling asleep, but only waking up when she heard a voice.  Instead of being relieved, she immediately panicked.  Rather than the stern voice of her father, it was the Viper.  She hid under a pile of heavy fabric, rearranging the folds of the fabric to disguise her form.
 The door opened with a bang, and fluorescent light exploded throughout the room.  Through a gap in the fabric, Elizabeth watched as Randy pushed one of her father’s associates into the room.  His hands were bound behind his back, and he already sported a wicked bruise on his face.  The man was pleading, begging the Viper to let him go.  But the man was silent, and just shook his head, leading the man to the chair in the center of the room.
 With practiced ease, the Viper hooked his leg behind the man’s leg, forcing him to sit in the bolted chair.  He was restrained quickly as he watched the Viper circle him.  If there were questions asked, Elizabeth didn’t remember them. After the first muffled thud of flesh hitting flesh and the grunt of pain that followed, Elizabeth ducked her head, burrowing deeper into the pile of fabric.  Mouth pressed closed, not even wanting to breathe deeply, she could hear each blow as it landed.  The cries of pain reverberated around the empty room, but could not be heard beyond the door.
 Eventually, the screams lessened to subdued gasps and groans.  Elizabeth brought her eyes up and dared to look into the room once more.  The man’s back was to her, but his body was limp, sagging forward.  Randy was in front of him, surveying the damage he did.  His hands were dripping with blood, his crisp white shirt spattered with red.  He paused, as if feeling her eyes on him, and he slowly surveyed the room before coming to a stop on the pile of drop cloths.  Elizabeth let out a raspy breath, which came out like a squeak.  She clamped her hands over her mouth. At that moment, the Viper smiled, his blue eyes like ice as he lifted a bloodstained finger to his lips in a shushing motion.
 “Be quiet Little Mouse.”
 The rest of that night was a blur.  All Elizabeth remembered was one of her father’s men, William Regal, picking her up and carrying her to her room.  His accented voice lulled her to sleep as she refused to let go of his hand.  The next few days drifted in a haze of nightmares, panic attacks, and a battery of medical tests. The aftermath of that night included a prescription for anti-anxiety medicine for Elizabeth and Shane received the harshest tongue-lashing that ever came out of the McMahon family patriarch.  He was kicked out of the main house and demoted in the family business.
 And the Viper?  Well, he was kept out of sight until Elizabeth was old enough to understand the world she lived in.  And now he was sitting less than a foot away.  He wore black button-ups under his crisp suit now.  Less visible bloodstains, she mused internally.  She tapped her nails against her clutch.  Being this close to the Viper made her skin crawl.  Stephanie did this on purpose, she was sure of it.  Punishment for her behavior as of late, or just because she wanted her sister to squirm.
 “Still quiet as ever,” Randy observed, his voice tinted with smugness.
 Elizabeth pointedly looked out the window, ignoring him.
 “Aw Mouse, you don’t want to talk to me?”
 She stiffened at the nickname.
 He reached out and trailed his hand down her bare arm.  Elizabeth darted her eyes to the front of the car.  The driver caught her eye in the window and looked away.  Coward.  She tried to wrench her arm away, but he grabbed her upper arm where Stephanie had earlier, making her hiss.
 He slid across the bench seat, invading her space.  Elizabeth’s heart started to pound.  Too close, too close.  He reached toward her face and she closed her eyes, unwilling to see his cold blue gaze.  One beat, two beats, three.  She opened her eyes at the sound of the door opening.  He had reached across her to open the door.  She hadn’t even realized the car was stopped.  They were at one of her father’s properties in the industrial district.
 Elizabeth steeled herself, she had only been here once before and had no desire to be here again.  Regal waited on the sidewalk for her, guiding her with a hand on her back.  He turned back to Orton, who had a shit-eating grin on his face.
 “Go back to your charges, I’ll take over,” he ordered in a clipped tone.  Regal ushered Elizabeth inside the nondescript warehouse.  As soon as she was away from the gaze of Orton, she sagged against the British man’s side, breathing heavily.
 “Are you alright my dear?”  He saw the beginning of a bruise blooming on her fair skin. Elizabeth took in deep lungfuls of air, trying to calm herself, anchoring her mind to the firm touch of Regal’s hand on her back.  Calming her nerves, she straightened, patting the older man’s arm in reassurance.
 “I’m fine, thank you, William.”
 When he went to retort, she shook her head.
 “I’m fine.  Let’s get this over with.”
 He nodded albeit reluctantly.
 “Of course, this way please.”
 She allowed Regal to guide her through a labyrinth of pallets, all filled to the brim with ill-gotten goods.  She heard shouting jeers and the sounds of fighting she paused to steady herself.
 “Deep breaths,” William murmured against her hair and she nodded.  The door ahead of them was flanked by two guards, who opened the door for the pair.
 Her father, the patriarch of the McMahon crime family, stood next to a railing.  Vince McMahon, millionaire, businessman, philanthropist, and criminal.  Although up in years, he still had a commanding aura.  Whatever Vince says, goes.  No discussions.  No mistakes.  No forgiveness.
 Down below, men were bare-knuckle fighting.  Elizabeth stood to the side as Regal announced her arrival to her father.  She glanced down at the fighters and immediately wished she hadn’t.  Several men were off to the side, having lost their respective fights.  Most if not all sustained several wounds, black eyes, gashes to the forehead, broken noses. Some looked scarcely older than eighteen, throwing themselves in the meat grinder for her ‘family’.  Others were older, gruff, the weight of the world showing on the lines of their faces.
 William motioned for Elizabeth to join him and her father at the railing.
 “How did the event go?” her father asked, not taking his eyes off the fights below.
 “The charity event went well, though I wish I could have stayed to do the interview,” Elizabeth said, keeping her tone even.  It would do no good to start a fight with her father.
 Vince barely registered what his daughter said, waving it off like a piece of lint on his expensive suits.
 “Stephanie can handle it.  I wanted you here,” he said.  The current fight ended, yells and jeers reverberating through the metal warehouse.  Though all Elizabeth could hear was the dull thud as one of the fighters hit the ground.  She swallowed the revulsion, schooling her face into one of cool indifference.
 “In order for you to understand the severity of your previous bodyguard’s mistake, I invited you here.”
 He gestured for his daughter to join him at the railing, as the next fight took place.  Elizabeth chanced a look at Regal, who nodded.  She made her way to the railing, standing next to her father.
 “I will do anything to protect this family, my legacy,” he started.  Elizabeth nodded along with his words.
 “When Mr. Wight grew lax in his responsibilities, he became a liability to you, to this family, and to me.”
 Elizabeth almost jumped when her father’s hand dropped on top of hers.  It was rare for the McMahon patriarch to show any sort of affection, especially when not in front of the cameras.
 “I don’t like liabilities Elizabeth,” he said, turning his gaze from the men downstairs to her eyes.  “Liabilities cause chaos.”
 The youngest McMahon could only nod, as his hand tightened on hers, facing the carnage below.

Four and Flowers - Fluffy One-shot
[This was for the LU gift exchange back in the Spring. It was a self-imposed challenge that I’m not gonna do again... probably. I hope you enjoy ^u^]
Read it on AO3
Four often caught themself looking at the various flowering plants the group passed. Maybe it was because of all the varieties they had found, a warm red filling their chest as they saw new plants they had never seen before, most not being found in their own era, but they soon found a want- no, a strong need to see all of them.
It was late one night, the heroes electing to make camp in a secluded area they found themselves in, a more mountainous region of who knows whose era when Four spotted a small glimmering blue flower that shone by the light of the moon. They were on watch and with everyone sound asleep, Four didn’t see the harm in slipping away quietly for a moment or two.
Only once they were a sufficient distance away did they draw their sword, holding it up and letting the white light engulf their body. And one became four.
“Okay, Red, what is it with you and flowers all of a sudden?” Blue crossed his arms, eyebrow raised.
“This may sound weird, but… I was thinking… what if when we get back home, we planted a garden?”
“I don’t mind the idea, Red,” Blue spoke again, “I just want to know what started this idea.”
Red fidgeted in place, glancing between the other three nervously, despite the non-judgemental looks they had, obvious curiosity on each of their faces.
“Well… I liked the ones we saw for one thing, and then I was thinking about... when this adventure was over…”
“You want something to remember the others by,” Vio finished, Red nodding at the end.
“That’s not a bad idea at all, though… how are we gonna do it? And what plants?” Green asked, causing them all to grow quiet in thought.
“I could do research when the others aren’t watching,” Vio offered, “I’m sure we could easily find which flowers or plants would be able to survive in our era.”
“Guess I’ll start by asking about what sort of plants-- er flowers the others like,” Green spoke up.
When they all turned to Blue, he shrunk under their gaze, the tips of his ears turning red.
“I’ll… help you plant them I guess… help you pick them out-- er somethin’,” Blue mumbled, Red beaming at him with giddy happiness.
With the plan made, smiles lighting up each face, they raised up their blades returning to one, then heading back to the camp and finishing off their watch shift.
When they woke the next hero for their shift, settling themself down to sleep, swirling colors of excitement barely let them drift off, thoughts and plans filling their head with vibrant hues, but they found that they didn’t mind tonight.
They figured out whose era they were in quickly enough. Wild practically jumped to his feet when the slate registered the map of his home. Four listened in on the older heroes’ conversation, talk of heading to the nearest village, which apparently they were in luck since Wild said he knew a shortcut to Hateno.
With the decision made, they all packed up their belongings, following behind Wild and Hyrule as they made to run straight down the mountain. Four laughed as the two adventurous heroes were yelled at by their predecessors, though seeing as that was truly the only way down the mountain, the group reluctantly agreed to follow their path. Thankfully, Wild only needed to be told once not to shield surf down the mountain.
It wasn’t long until they arrived on flat ground, a small fenced-in house near where they stood with a brilliant blue horse standing in a stall, a small pond next to it surrounded by a rainbow of flowers.
“Everyone, welcome to Hateno! This here is my house,” Wild beamed, running over to the stall to greet the animal standing inside, “and this is my horse, Safflina.”
Four could see how the old man’s expression seemed to soften slightly at the sight of the mare. Twilight even approached the horse to offer her pets at her muzzle.
“She’s beautiful,” Time spoke, Wild grinning wide in response.
“I’m glad you think so, it’s been a while since I’ve been back, so—“
“Link, is that you over there?”
The group froze at the new voice, though Wild’s grin only seemed to grow upon hearing it. A man soon stepped into view from the other side of the stall, dressed in blue save for a pink headband around his head. He smiled once he caught sight of Wild, placing a hand on his hip.
“Glad to see you back with us, Link,” he spoke, “I took care of Safflina for ya, my treat this time. And I see you’ve brought some friends of yours. My name’s Bolson.”
Four could hear Legend and Warriors whispering to each other, and it took a bit of restraint to not call them out on it. Bolson seemed nice enough, listening as Wild introduced everyone and smiling once it was over.
“Actually, Bolson, do you know if Zelda is still here?”
“You’re in luck, she got here yesterday and has been up in that weird Tech Lab ever since.”
The Champion brightened at that.
“Well, it was nice meeting all of you. If you need anything, Link here knows where I’ll be,” Bolson spoke, smiling as he walked back the way he came.
Wild led them all around the side of his house, Four taking in the view of the field spread out over the cliff separating the Champion’s house from the rest of the town.
“Hey Four, ya coming?”
They startled from their thoughts, turning towards the house and breaking into a run to join the group.
“We may as well split up and resupply. I need to get some stuff to make a meal anyway,” the Champion swiped through his slate as he spoke, “and if there’s time, I need to go to the Tech Lab and talk with Zelda before she leaves.”
No one argued with that, so Four found themself in a group with the Champion and Traveller, off to find ingredients for dinner later that night. As they passed over the bridge that connected the house with the rest of the village, Four marveled at the landscape below them, taking in the sight of the far-off mountains that seemed to stretch on for miles. They passed a few strangely shaped houses, the colors reminding them of their own quad-colored tunic. The thought made a rush of blue rest behind their eyes as they continued to look, annoyance or anger causing pressure to grow.
“Hey, Four! Hurry up!” Wild called out, tearing their gaze from the houses and dispelling the headache, “You’re lagging behind!”
“Sorry,” they called back, hurrying down the hill, “got distracted.”
“It’s not a big deal, just didn’t want to get too separated.”
The steadily growing chatter let them know they were in the village proper, people milling about completing daily tasks or talking to each other. Hyrule seemed to have the same look of curiosity as Four was sure rested on their face. Wild chuckled, leading them into the shop they were next to. Four only caught a glimpse of the odd building on the far off hill behind the village, but it was enough to catch their attention.
“Hey, Wild, what’s that building behind the village?”
“The Ancient Tech Lab,” he replied, though he didn’t look towards them, “I think once I get everything I need here, we could head up there for a bit. I needed to talk to Zelda and Purah while we’re still in my era anyway, may as well do it today.”
Four nodded and stood closer to the Traveller hero who was eyeing the bulb-tipped arrows on display, the sign nearby listing them as bomb arrows.
“D’you think we’ll need these?”
“Not sure… but I wouldn’t touch them. Just in case.”
Hyrule shrugged, looking away from the arrows. Four could see Wild finishing up paying for ingredients, thanking the man at the counter with a grin as he gestured for them to follow him out.
“That didn’t take long at all,” he grinned, storing the items away in his slate, “now that that’s over, I think the others are still wandering around here…”
“It’s your era, they won’t be worried, trust me.”
Wild seemed to agree with their words, leading the way through the crowd, past the other shops. Four could see Twilight watching the kids run around the middle of the village with Wind, an amused smile on the elder hero’s face. Legend and Warriors were outside a different shop, conversing with a woman leaning against the entrance. They had to be betting on something stupid, especially considering how Legend seemed to be goading the Captain into doing something or other.
The Champion led the way over a small stream, past a large Inn and up a path lined with blue-flamed torches. Their pace was hurried despite the steep incline, and they made it to the top within minutes. Four could see the entire village from this vantage point, the view easily taking their breath away. They entered the Lab to find Wild already deep in a conversation with his Zelda while Hyrule was eyeing the several gadgets scattered about. Four, however, was only focused on the bookshelf in the far corner.
Their mind was already alight with violet-red excitement, their feet leading them instantly to the white-haired man standing near it.
“Um, excuse me,” they spoke, gaining the attention and easy smile of the man, “Do you happen to have any books on flowers or plants that I could look through?”
The man simply nodded, grabbing a thick tome from a higher shelf and passing it down. Four smiled wide, turning to settle down against the wall nearby.
“Thank you.”
“No need. Just give it to Link when you’re done with it,” he smiled, turning back to his own book.
Four started leafing through their own book, and as they read, their thoughts began to split.
‘What if we planted Daisies? Don’t they kind of remind you of the Sailor?’
‘I don’t disagree with you, Red, but I’m not sure they fit as well as you think. They aren’t really a sea plant-’
‘You don’t really expect us to be able to take care of a sea plant, do you Vio? We literally couldn’t be further from the sea.’
‘Guys, focus. We’re here to figure out which plants we can even get to our era.’
‘Duh, Green, but we still need to--’
“What’re you looking at Four?”
Their conversation cut off, becoming one once again, leaving a headache behind. They clutched at their head, looking to see Hyrule peering at their book curiously.
“I’m thinking of starting a garden back in my era…"
“Why do I get the feeling there’s a but in there.”
Four groaned.
“Okay, so I want to get flowers or plants from everyone’s era so that I have something to remember everyone by I guess? But how the heck am I supposed to even take care of some of these plants?”
“You’re talking about the Sailor’s era, aren’t you,” Hyrule stated.
Four nodded, sighing tiredly. Hyrule took a seat next to him, peering over the small hero’s shoulder.
“You know, I bet I know someone who could figure out how to get this to work out how you want it to.”
Four only watched with barely concealed amazement as the princess and Wild walked over and started discussing ways to get plants to thrive in Four’s era where they wouldn’t otherwise survive. Wild showed off his slate, pages upon pages of pictures, and the flowers they depicted themselves taking place there. It seemed that they weren’t the only ones with this idea. They smiled wide, a warm red spreading through them as they listened to the others talk. Things were working out for them it seemed.
It wasn’t long until they arrived at Four’s era, close by the forge the smith ran. By now, the group was aware of the plan they had, to make a garden with a variety of plants from every era. Wild had gotten tools and pots that were made with Sheikah tech, they would easily keep the more difficult to care for plants alive, even while Four was on their current quest.
Once the group had gotten settled in Four’s home, the smallest hero started finding a nice spot outside and near the house. One by one, the rest followed, sleeves pushed up and armor long since put away, watching the excitement on the young smith’s face. Four took a moment to watch as the area got cleared of weeds and the dirt turned over to make room for the plants. They decided now was as good a time as ever, and besides, they all agreed that they wanted to help plant the garden anyway.
Four ran back inside, pulling their sword out and raising it up. A flash of white light, four grinning faces, and the four boys ran outside to help plant. No questions were asked, the group only glancing at the newcomers for a moment before returning to what they were doing. Soon, Wild started pulling the plants from his Slate. Hawk grass and Hibiscuses, Silent Princesses and Goddess Flowers, Daisies, Tulips, Swift Violets, and Geranium flowers. When they were all put in place, the heroes tired and dirty but satisfied with their work, they saw the four colorful boys smiling wide.
“Guess it all worked out, huh?” Blue spoke, Red turning to the other heroes beaming.
“Thanks so much for doing this!”
“No need to thank us,” Hyrule smiled back, “though, out of curiosity, who planted that other flower?”
The four looked confused until Vio spotted what the Traveller was referring to. There, next to the violets was a small patch of dark-colored forget-me-nots. Vio said nothing, only looking at them, smiling sadly. He could hear Red asking Wild, but the Champion seemed just as confused by their appearance as the rest of them.
“Just leave them there,” Green said, a small smile on his own face as he watched Vio, “I think they fit in perfectly.”

“She’s got spunk” Yu Yu Hakusho Jin x OC Fanfiction (Part 3)
“Well I can’t promise that, Seeing as you're definitely going to fall in love with me.”  He told her with a wink.
“Get a room you two...” Yusuke said as Kuwabara pretended to gag.
“I think they are cute!” Yukina said walking up to the group holding hands with Olivia.  Along with the rest of Ivy’s friends.
“I agree!” Chimed Sophia, as Kurama then greeted her with a wave and a smile which she happily returned.  She then walked over to stand next to him and made conversation with him while the rest of the group continued to talk.
“But they really should get a room.  And maybe couples counselling.  Ivy clearly doesn't know how to express her feelings.”  Hiei stated bluntly, referring back to Ivy and Jin.
“Bitch!  You are one to talk!”  Ivy exclaimed angrily.  “Hey!  What are you doing?!  Put me down!” Ivy said as Jin picked her up bridal style.
“Nope!  It's getting too crowded here!  Besides that!  You said you’d go out with me, remember?”  Jin said with a grin as Ivy blushed.  Jin then took off flying with Ivy in his arms and took them to the part of forest where the two first met.
As Jin flew them away, Shishiwakamaru could be heard sobbing somewhere in the arena.
“No!  My chance at true love!  Gone!  Gone with the wind!  Why?!”  he wept.
“Shut up Shishi…”  Sazuka sighed, irritated as Shishi continued to sob silently.
Back with Ivy's friends...
“So…  Are you two like dating or something?”  Kuwabara asked Oliva and Yukina.
“We are.” Oliva told him while putting her arm around Yukina and pulling her close to her, also causing Hiei to glare daggers at her.
“By the way, Hiei can we talk to you?” Yukina asked, surprising Hiei who nonetheless agreed and walked with the two women away from the rest of the group.
“What did you two want?”  Hiei asked coldly.
“Go on…  Tell him!”  Olivia encouraged Yukina.
“Hiei, I know you are my brother...  But I want to hear it from you!”  She pleaded, almost in tears.
Hiei’s eyes widened.  “How…? Who…? How…? What…?” He said at a loss for words.
“Ivy could smell it Hiei.  You can't deny it, we know.”  Olivia told him.
Hiei sighed.  “Yes, I am your brother…  I’m sorry I’m not better…”  Hiei said as he started to turn around and walk away.  But before he could Yukina hugged him from behind.
“What do you mean?  You are a great brother.  I'm so glad I finally found you...”  Yukina said as a few tears fell from her eyes, turning into gems as they fell.
“...Thank you…”  Hiei said, actually smiling a real smile for what may have been the first time in his life.
“What do you think they are talking about?”  Piper asked Kuwabara.  The two were hiding in the bushes nearby, watching this encounter take place.
“I don’t know…  But it must be good to make Hiei actually smile.  That or it's a sign of the apocalypse.”  Kuwabara stated, as a shiver went down his spine.
   Meanwhile, back with Ivy and Jin.
Jin landed in the familiar area of the forest with Ivy still in his arms.  Ivy had been clinging to him tightly without realizing it.  Her arms around his neck and face buried in his chest.  She still had yet to let go or remove her face even moments after landing.  “Well lass, not that I’m complaining but you know you can let go now right?”  He asked her with a smile.  Ivy slowly opened her eyes “I mean if you don’t want to though that's fine with me too!  Like I said, no complaints here!” He said with a big grin and a bit of a chuckle.  Ivy quickly scrambled out of the man's arms and onto her feet.  She fixed her outfit and refused to look at him, her cheeks reddening.  Jin smiled a kind smile at her.  He stepped closer to her and took her chin in his hand and tilted her head to look at him, while he wrapped his other arm around her waist to pull her closer to him.  “Why are you so embarrassed? He asked her, bringing his face closer to hers.
“I-I’m not!”  She protested.
“Are you nervous?”  He inquired.
“No!” She exclaimed.
“Then what's wrong?” He asked.
Ivy sighed.  “I don't know…  Maybe Hiei was right about me…  Maybe I don't know how to express my emotions…”  Ivy questioned to herself really more than to Jin.
“Well, that's why I’m here now.  We can work on that together.  We can help each other grow and become better.  That is, if you would like that?”  He told her, and then looked at her with hopeful puppy eyes awaiting her response.
Ivy thought for a moment then smiled.  “Yes, Yes I think I would like that.” she told him.
Jins ears wiggled with glee at her answer as he then kissed her on the forehead, causing Ivy to blush and hide her face.  Which in return caused Jin to chuckle and gently hold her cheek in the palm of his hand to look at him as he sweetly told her “I promise to cherish you always…”  He said as he looked into her eyes.
“Oh…  You’ve replaced me already Ivy?”  Said a voice that Ivy had not heard in a long time...
Ivy and Jin looked in the direction of the voice and saw a woman leaning against a tree crossing her arms. She had straight, platinum blond hair cut just above her shoulders, blue eyes with a deep scar over the left one.  She wore a leather  jacket with a red shirt underneath and ripped black jeans and black studded combat boots.
“Addison…?” Ivy breathed out.
“In the flesh.”  smirked the woman as she pushed herself off of the tree and began to walk towards Ivy and Jin, seeming like a tigress stalking her prey.
Jin could sense something was off about this new woman and got in front of Ivy, shielding her protectively.
“Awww how cute.  He thinks he can protect you from me.”  She laughed as Jin glared, the wind around the area beginning to get stronger.  “Calm down Hercules.  I'm not going to hurt anyone.  Yet…  I mean after all, mine and Ivy's fight isn't until tomorrow!” She told them with a wicked laugh as she walked away.
“Who was that?”  Jin asked, calming down a bit now as the wind began to calm down as well.
Ivy sighed.  “An old running buddy of mine.  I used to hunt monsters with her.  I met her at a bar in my rebellious years.  Also... She was my girlfriend…” Ivy explained
“Girlfriend?”  Jin asked, confused.
“Yes Jin, I’m bisexual, also demisexual.  Is that a problem?”  Ivy told him.
“No not at all.  Just surprised me a bit is all.  But love is love lassy”  Jin said with a smile which Ivy returned happily.
Soon Jin and Ivy decided to call it a day so Ivy could rest up for her team's matches tomorrow.  Jin flew Ivy back to the hotel and dropped her off at her room.
“Good night lass.  And good luck tomorrow!”  Jin told her and he gave her a tight hug and another peck on the forehead.
“Thank you Jin.  I will see you tomorrow.”  Ivy said as she walked into her room to see her teammates looking at her with eager eyes.  Yusuke and Kuwabara also wore goofy smiles on their faces.
“Spill the tea sis.”  Yusuke said.
“Yeah how’d it go girl?”  Kuwabara asked.
“Stop harassing Ivy you two.”  Kurama scolded as Ivy felt a wave of relief.  “But if he hurt you in any way just let us know and we will take care of it.”  Kurama said grimly.
“Jesus christ Kurama…”  Yusuke muttered.
“What do you expect?  Ivy is one of us now.”  Hiei stated nonchalantly. The group got quiet and looked at Hiei in surprise.  “What?  Why are you all looking at me like that?”  he asked, annoyed.
Ivy smiled at him “I always knew you were just a big ol softie!  Well I guess in your case it would be little ol softie!”  Ivy laughed as Hiei glared at her embarrassed, causing her to laugh more.  “I’m sorry Hiei.  But it's nice to know you care about me.   That goes for all of you actually.”  Ivy told the group with a kind smile.
“Of course Ivy, you are our friend now and there's no changing that!  We got your back, no matter what.”  Yusuke told her, giving her a thumbs up as the rest of the group agreed with him.
“Aww thanks you guys!”  Ivy said as she went over and hugged them all in a group hug, having to pull Hiei into it with the rest of them.
“Well we should probably all get some rest.  We have the fight with team Toguro tomorrow...”  Kurama stated after the hug ended.  After he said this the atmosphere in the room changed to be filled with anxiety as everyone's mood got much darker.  Ivy debated with telling the group about Addison but decided against it due to everyone already being worried about their own fight.
The following morning the team headed to the arena, ready to fight in what would be the toughest fights yet in this tournament.
The first fight was between Kurama and Karasu.  Kurama started off by using a technique with razor sharp rose petals floating around him in the battlefield.  Karusu was unfazed and began his own attack with his special bomb attacks.  Soon Kurama transformed into Youko Kurama and used a killer plant which at first appeared to have eaten Karasu.  But It was quickly made obvious that was not the case when Karasu started to attack Kurama with another bomb, burying him in rubble.  When Kurama dug himself out he had transformed back into his human self.  Eventually Kurama ended up killing Karasu with a death plant.
“Winner!  Karasu!”  Juri exclaimed.
“Bitch what?”  Ivy said, angrily.
“Yeah!  Hey fish girl!  You wanna tell me how a living guy loses to a dead guy?”  Yusuke said, marching up to Juri, grabbing her arm.
“I would appreciate it if you would remove your hand please.”  Juri calmly told him.
“I would appreciate it if you removed your head from your ass!”  Yusuke shouted at her.
“Your friend was down for ten counts!  He lost!  Deal with it!”  Juri said as she turned away from Yusuke, huffily crossing her arms.
The next fight was Hiei vs Bui.  It was a long fight that almost seemed never ending.  But eventually it did indeed end with Hiei as the victor.  Hiei also chose to spare Bui’s life after the fight.
The third fight was Kuwabara vs The elder Toguro brother.  During the early portion of the fight, things looked bad for Kuwabara.  But in the end he managed to win and even developed a new technique, a spirit fly swatter.  Which is what allowed his victory to occur.
“Next fighters to the ring please!”  Koto exclaimed enthusiastically.
“You're up Ivy” Yusuke stated, looking in the brunette's direction.
Ivy made her way into the ring and came face to face with Addison.
An Irish voice could be heard cheering louder than anyone else in the stadium. “Woo!  Go Ivy!  Yeah!  That's my lassy!”  Jin cheered.
“Your boyfriend sure is obnoxious isn't he?” Addison sneered.
“Watch your fucking mouth.  Only I can be mean to him!”  Ivy snarled.
Jin's eyes gleamed and his ears wiggled with pride.  “Yeah!  That's right!  Only she can be mean to me!” He exclaimed.
“Fucking masocist…”  Touya muttered under his breath as Jin looked over at him and winked.  Touya shuddered in disgust “Weirdo…”
“Shut the fuck up Jin!”  Ivy shouted angrily into the crowd in Jins direction.
“What kind of relationship do those two have?”  Hiei shuddered in confusion and disgust.
“Okay that's enough of that!  Let the battle begin!”  Juri announced with a wave of her arm.
As Ivy was getting ready to attack, Addison pulled out a smoke bomb and threw it at Ivy's feet.  Ivy began to cough and then quickly realized something was wrong.
“What did you do to me?”  Ivy asked with a glare as the smoke was already subsiding.
“I evened the playing field.  None of those freakish monster powers of yours in this fight.”  Addison said, pulling out a silver stake.  “Now…  I hope you are ready my dear…”  Addison said chillingly.  Addison then began to make her way towards Ivy who was currently digging in her bag.  Addison was standing right in front of Ivy ready  to attack when Ivy pulled out a blow dart and hit Addison with one of the darts in it.  Addison grabbed her neck where the dart had struck her.
  “You dirty little…”   She growled as she then hit Ivy hard with the back of her hand, knocking her to the ground.  Addison climbed on top of Ivy and began to try and plunge the stake into her chest.  Ivy grabbed onto  the stake to prevent it from stabbing her.  In the midst of the struggle Ivy looked up at Addison and recalled the history the two of them shared together, causing her to ease up ever so slightly in her defense.  Addison took that opportunity to drive the stake directly into Ivys heart.  Killing her.
“Winner!  Addison!”  Juri exclaimed.
Addison stood up and laughed maniacally.  “I did it!  I finally did it!  After all these years, I killed you Ivy!  Victory is mi-” she started to say but was unable to finish as she began to stagger.  She looked at Ivy's body angrily, remembering the blow dart.  She fell to her knees, clutching her neck where the dart had hit her. “You little bitch…”  She said weakly before she died as well.
“Why isn't Ivy moving yet?” Keiko asked, looking at Shizuru and Boton.  Shizuru started crying quietly and Botan began weeping uncontrollably.  Keiko realized what this meant and followed their example.  They were not the only ones who were upset Yukina was also sobbing as Olivia, Piper, Sophia, and Leon were sitting there in shock and unsure of what really just happened and how to react and process it.
Ivy's teammates ran onto the area stage.  Kuwabara picked her limp body up in his arms, tears falling from his eyes.  “Ivy!  Ivy wake up!”  He cried, shaking her in an attempt to awaken her.
“She’s gone human.” Hiei said numbly, his eyes beginning to actually well up.
Kuwabara carried Ivy’s body out of the ring.  It was then that everyone noticed the wind in the arena picking up and getting stronger and stronger almost to the point of a hurricane when all the sudden it just stopped.  It suddenly starts back up again but this time is very gentle and seems to have a sadness about it.
Touya put his hand on Jin’s arm.  “Hey man…  I’m sorry…”  He said in a gentle whisper.
Jin began crying softly and his friends then engulfed him in a hug as he continued to cry.
“This is fucking stupid…  Ivy didn't deserve that!” Yusuke shouted, enraged.
Toguro then entered the arena, Yusuke looked over at him and glared angrily “At least I have an outlet for all this anger right now…”  he said cracking his knuckles and entering the arena himself.
“Begin!” Juri exclaimed.
Yusuke started off by removing his spirit shackles and accessing all of his spirit energy.  The fight went on for a while but in the end Yusuke defeated Toguro by using the last of his energy to fire off a strong spirit gun, killing Toguro.
“That was for Ivy…”  Yusuke muttered coldly.
Then, Koto and Juri both walked up onto the arena next to each other “Winner of the tournament!  Team Urameshi!”  They both chimed.
A voice then came over the loudspeaker.  “Thank you all for coming to the dark tournament.  I just wanted to inform you that I along with this stadium will be destroyed in 15 minutes.  If you do not wish to die then I suggest you get out now.” Said the voice belonging to Sakkyo.
“We have to get out of here!”  Kuwabara exclaimed.
The group began to make their escape but not before Hiei picked Ivy's body up and put her over his shoulder.
“She was right!  You are a softie!”  Yusuke teased as the group continued to run to the exit.  Hiei just glared in return.
The group came together with the girls and Ivy’s other friends and kept running to get out together.
The group soon reached a dead end.
“What do we do?”  Keiko cried.  But before anyone could even respond the dead end was blown open by Jin, Touya, Chu, and Rinku.
“Just in time!”  Yusuke exclaimed with a grin.
Jin saw Ivy being carried by Hiei and reached out for her.  Hiei rolled his eyes and handed her over to him.  Jin began to tear up again.
“Jin!  We don't have time for you to cry right now!  Let's get to safety first and then you can cry all you want!” Chu told him, pulling him along.   Jin was careful not to drop Ivy as they made their escape.
Finally, the group made it to safety.  The stadium exploded moments after.
“Oh!  You were supposed to get a wish!”  Botan exclaimed.
The group sadly looked over at Ivy who was being cradled in a sobbing Jins arms.
“It doesn't matter…  Those bastards wouldn't have been able to give us what we wanted anyways…”  Yusuke muttered.
The group later had a funeral for Ivy, laying her on a bed of flowers as they said their teary goodbyes.
The next day Team Urameshi and friends were getting ready to depart from Hanging Neck Island.
“Hey!  You fuckers are leaving without me?”  Shouted a familiar voice.
The group looked over and saw none other than…  Ivy!
Everyone ran over to Ivy in disbelief and joy.
“You are alive!”  Oliva said happily  “You bitch!”  Olivia screamed at her, slapping her face and then hugging her tightly as the rest of the group quickly followed her example.
“Well I wasn't until just like 15 minutes ago!”  Ivy told them as she returned the gesture.
The group then all boarded the ferry and headed for home.  Once they were back in their neck of the woods, they started heading back to Genkai's temple.
“You're welcome to stay here at the temple for as long as you want.”  Keiko said as they arrived at the temple.
Ivy’s eyes lit up.  “Really?  We can stay here?  Forever?  Hooray!”  Ivy cheered as Genkia threw her hat angrily on the ground and stomped on it before marching inside her home, grumbling under her breath.
“Ignore her…  She will warm up to you guys quickly I am sure.”  Yusuke told the group.
“That settles it!  We are staying!”  Sophia cheered.
A few days later Ivy was lounging on the couch in the living room, remembering a certain red haired windmaster.  As she was lost in thought, there was suddenly a knock at the door.  Ivy ignored it at first, wanting to remain in her brain.  But the knocking persisted.
“Fine!  I’m coming!”  Ivy shouted, annoyed.
She opened the door to see none other then, Sazuka, Shishiwakamaru, Chu, Rinku, Touya, and… Jin.  They all looked at her in stunned silence having thought she was dead.  That is until Jin felt a wave of happiness as the shock subsided and he embraced her tightly and began rambling on while crying happy tears “You're alive lass!  Oh I’m so happy!  If this is a dream nobody wake me up!  You are alive!”  Jin went on.
“I’m  happy to see you too, Jin.”  Ivy told him, returning his embrace.
Jin then eased up on his hold on her and gazed deeply into her eyes and then kissed her passionately.  Surprisingly enough, Ivy actually kissed him back.  Once the two parted for air they rested their foreheads on one another, looking at each other intensely.
“Ewww gross!  Get a room!”  Rinku said, pretending to gag.
“Shut up!  Don’t ruin their moment!”  Chu said, smacking Rinku upside the head.
Ivy and Jin then stood up straight next to each other while still holding hands with interlocked fingers.
“And of course I’m alive!  I never stay dead for too long!  Well at least so far.”  Ivy boasted with a laugh.
“It's about time you jokers got here!  I’ve been waiting on you nimrods!”  Genkai scolded walking into the room.
“We have all come here to train with Genkai.” Touya said, noticing the confused look on Ivy’s face.
“Oh are you guys going to be living with us then?”  Ivy asked as Genkai shuddered at the realization that there would be more mouths to feed.
“We are going to be living together?  Hooray!”  Jin cheered, picking Ivy up by the waist and spinning her around.
“Hey!  Put me down!  Jin!”  Ivy scolded, but this time for some reason found herself smiling as she did so.

Chapter 6: Lines Are Drawn | Cal Kestis x Reader
Requested by Anon
Summary: Meeting another Force-sensitive was one thing, but having them related to one of the most formidable known duelers was a whole other story to tell. While being stranded in another planet after barely escaping the Haxion Brood, Cal crosses paths with someone who’s at a crossroads with their own identity and lineage.
A/N: Wow, progress is a little slow now. I’m slightly bummed for some odd reason. With the chaos ensuing anywhere in the world, I’m also affected, one way or another. Given that I’ve come back to my work, the good thing is my company has shortened the work hours, though traffic is still a bitch. I’m beginning to see the new pattern to my work-life balance here. I’ve learned that coffee at night while writing gives me a boost of energy to keep writing. But I’m glad you guys are still looking at my stuff, even if only a few of you stop by every now and then. 💞💞💕💕 You guys have no idea how much it means a whole lot to me, the same way you guys matter. The world’s gone fucked, I hope you guys are safe, wherever you are. 🥺😪💝💖

6 of ?
7 YEARS AGO, BEFORE THE JEDI PURGE
Serenno.
You were only a week shy from being ten years old.
You’ve lived a comfortable childhood. Back then, you didn’t understand the vastness of the family manor—it was so vast that it might have been identical to the palaces in Naboo, but of course in the eyes of a child. The only thing that ran in your mind was the games you’d play in the gardens or the foyer, running around and playing house all with your dolls.
Your parents were perhaps the kindest people you’ve known, especially your mother, Jezria. But there were times that the anger in her voice scared you—even if those harsh, loud words were never meant for you in the first place.
They were for that man, with a snowy white head of hair and a bearded face atop a black ensemble, who comes by your house every once in a while. The only thing that stood out in your eye was the expensive silver chain that clasped the cape behind his back.
“So, you’ve come here again,” Jezria growled as she descended the stairs, greeting the guest rather coldly compared to the welcoming vibe that she usually gives off during gatherings. The skirt of her dress billowed over the marble steps, as her manicured fingers slid down the glossed wooden bannister, complementing her regal yet fierce demeanor.
As soon as Jezria’s heels touched the smooth floor, she took you under her arm, shielding you from the visitor’s sight albeit being quite a futile effort.
“Mommy, who is he?” you muttered.
The man’s head tilted downward, proving that he’d heard you. His serious eyes made you hide away behind your mother’s skirt, leaving only a peep at the corner of your eye.
“So, you haven’t told your daughter of her own uncle,” his voice was baritone and spoke in an aristocratic, firm accent. He shakes his head. “Is that how much you hate me, Jezria?”
“Because her life is better without knowing who you are to her!!”
“Foolish woman! Do you think altering your surname into “Moorken” changes anything!? You can change your name, your face, but never your blood!” he bellowed back, cutting the air with a swift sweep of his arm. “You don’t know what your own child is capable of! Only my master and I know the true potential of her power. No matter how many times you deny it, my sister, [y/n] will always have the eyes of Darth Sidious.”
“Whoever he is… No, frankly I don’t give a damn who he is!” Jezria’s teeth were clenched so tightly that her words nearly incoherent. “He will not touch my [y/n]!”
“Underestimating him may not be the wisest thing you’ll ever do, Jezria. And as far as I know you are an intelligent woman.”
With one step forward from your supposed uncle, Jezria—with you still hiding behind her hip—takes one step back away from her brother. Your mother further shielded you with the wide sleeve that dangled from her slender arm, almost veiling you from the eyes of her brother.
“Leave my home, you Separatist parasite! And if you come for [y/n] to try and take her from me, you will never hear the end of me, my dear brother.” she snarled, a true dragon-lady baring her teeth.
The visitor’s beard quivered as he harrumphed, his eyebrows furrowed so much that wrinkles formed across his forehead and the bags under his eyes became more prominent. He strode the grand aisle of the vast foyer, the hem of his cape swept the marble as he departed until he disappeared from the hollow thud of the great doors.
Jezria had kept her ferocious façade on until her brother was gone. Finally, with the dying echo of the door’s thud, her shoulders relaxed and her lungs loosened, but her hand never removed you from her embrace. You repeated the question, hoping that she would answer.
Having no choice, she sighed and melted to her knees, levelling herself to you.
“Darling, you heard him…” she sighed, quite disappointingly at the fact that you’re related to that visitor.
“My uncle? You never told me much about him, mom.”
“I know, dear, and I’m sorry I didn’t tell you soon enough,” she gulped. “But… I’ll explain it to you later. I hope that one day you’ll understand.”
Understanding that her ten-year-old daughter had no full grasp of the concept that she and her brother were fighting about, the least she could do was simplify it; and while her elder brother departed their home, Jezria had already concocted a plan for her family.
——————————————————–
“No, you have no right!!” your mother roared.
“I told you it would come to this!” your uncle rebutted.
The same exchange occurred just a few days turning ten years old. You may not have understood it, but it’s as if this man has timed the exact moment where he would have to cause another commotion in your household. Only this time, it has become more physical than the first time—you watched your mother attempt to push your uncle farther away from reaching the staircase, where you’re perched by the railings. Using his forearm as a shield to fight off Jezria’s pushing, he shoved her away as they went verbally ballistic against one another.
“And I told you that you won’t get anywhere near [y/n]!”
“Then I have no choice, Jezria, I will do what I must!”
He pushed her away to give himself some space. Jezria had the foresight that her brother would reach for his weapon—a curved black hilt strapped to his brown leather belt—and she beat him to it. A sleek, silver blaster—a streak of white shine underneath the chandelier light gleamed and adorned the body and barrel—pressed cold against the forehead of her brother.
The drawing of their weapons made you shift from where you perched in full view of them downstairs.
“I will put a hole between your eyes if you even do so much as touch your weapon with your finger,” Jezria snarled, her thumb flicking the safety.
“Are you really challenging me, dear sister?”
“If that’s what it takes, Count.” She firmly said, hinting sarcasm on his title, albeit her voice shuddering.
Your uncle sensed the trembling of her hands, he could feel it from the slight twitching of the barrel against the flesh of his forehead; an arrogant smirk popped out of his snowy beard, he slowly lured his hand away from his weapon, but Jezria knows full well that he’s not yet done with this charade.
“Leave. My. Home.”
Her finger hovered just a hair strand’s length away from the trigger.
Silence. A single heave of breath lifted the man’s broad shoulders.
“NOW!!!”
“This is not over, Jezria. Not until my master has what he wants!”
The Count—as your mother addressed him—backed away slowly until the barrel isn’t touching his head anymore. Again, as he turned tail, his maroon cape swooshed and billowed in the stale air which his heated exchange with his sister remained with. For the first time, you saw that he—in a way—was similar to you: with a single wave of his hand, the door opened at his whim, and he didn’t even lay a finger on the shiny doorknobs!
You’ve had such experience before: making things move at your whim without having the need to touch them. Your mother educated you what she knows—but her brother’s knowledge towers over hers, it didn’t matter, she only told you what you needed to know about the unseen entity they call the Force.
His presence always gave you anxiety, although you couldn’t help but stand witness to the ballistic trade of words between him and your mother. It felt like you were unfurling a family mystery all on your own, and to some extent, you were—but you never imagined it to be like this. As a child, you always had the precedent that whatever adults say are true—and your uncle’s words haunted you ever since he stepped through the front door.
He’s going to take me?
Will I ever see Mommy and Papa if he brings me with him?
Who is the other man they were talking about?
These were the questions that troubled you at night, until they have bothered you to exhaustion that you slept on them and worried about them in the next.
That next evening, the Count didn’t think of paying another visit, but this worried Jezria to a tee. Prior today, she had already put her plan into play: her husband already went ahead, disappearing from the gargantuan family manor to secure a safe route for your escape to the next planet, as she made herself busy getting changed and packing her bags, as well as yours.
Not meaning to disturb you or scare you—even though you’re already the latter—she barged into your bedroom. You were already instructed to get changed as well; and so you’ve been waiting for your mother’s signal to leave. The moment she popped her head into the space of the door she opened, you hopped out of your bed and took her hand.
“Keep up with me, darling!” she whispered, keeping her breath low in the dark.
“Where are we going?”
“To the ship, we’re going someplace far away from here… where he can’t take you,”
Perhaps Jezria’s constant underestimation of her brother—and indirectly the so-called master he always referred to—was her undoing, despite her best intentions of keeping her family safe.
Of course, she did not have that foresight or realization. What only mattered to Jezria weren’t the threats but her husband and daughter and that they were together—carefree and perfect, before her brother’s ugly head poked itself through her doorstep.
Mother and child boarded a shuttle. Jezria alone piloted the ship, prepped it and took off, while you sat buckled up in the co-pilot seat, observing her graceful fingers fluidly dancing across the dashboard controls; beeps chimed into your ears that it was nearly nauseating, the twinkling of the screens blinded you and made you see double, until the rumble of the ship hovering from the ground caused you to sink into your seat.
“Hold tight, dear,”
“Okay, Mom,” you said, ever so obediently.
This was actually your very first time to see the outside of Serenno. You were educated about the different planets and systems from your tutors, but everything you’ve learned about them failed to slam you with the celestial-scale oomph right in the face when you saw the endless sheet of black riddled with stars.
The sight was breathtaking, the neighboring planets’ sizes in a little ten-year-old’s eyes were simply impossible to fathom. Jezria relished the sight of your innocent smile, the fascination twinkling in your eyes, and the gaping smile that remained as your head spanned only a fraction of the galaxy. She hoped that she’d live to see that face again once the family has established a peaceful life, away from the eyes of the Count.
Jezria was finally able to relax and breathe easy as she cruised the shuttle through space. For once, the silence was comforting, she would banter with you, make little guessing games about the planets the shuttle has passed by or what system you could be in.
“Can you name at least another planet in the same space region?” your mother quizzed.
“Well, since home is in the Outer Rim, then another Outer Rim planet could be… Felucia!”
“That’s right, Felucia is also in the Outer Rim Territories!” your mother beamed. “You sure kept your lessons to heart.”
That smooth sailing was interrupted in the blink of an eye when another ship from behind has opened fire, damaging the stern of the shuttle. The screens flashed erratically while Jezria desperately multitasked in stabilizing the ship while taking damage.
“Mom!” you shrieked, tongue-tied and terrified that you were mute for a second.
“It’s okay, [y/n]! It’s going to be okay!”
From the graceful dancing of fingers that you saw moments ago, your mother’s arms flailed in all directions trying to stabilize the ship while being tailed and fired at the ship.
“An assassin, of course!” she growled under her breath.
“What’s going on!?”
“We’re being tailed. Hold on, [y/n]! Whatever happens, just hold on!”
You continued to observe your mother throwing her hands to all sides, attempting to keep the ship flying. The center screen, the widest in the dashboard, flashed a bright orange while projecting the cross-section view of the engines. Whatever button Jezria presses, the orange on the screen never disappeared, rather it gradually turned red to emphasize the severity of the damage.
Suddenly, she could no longer steer the ship forward. The shuttle had been caught into a tractor beam for boarding. A brief thud shook the ship. The magnetic field of the beam has already taken hold of your shuttle.
There’s nothing much she can do right now.
She hopped out of her seat and took you out of yours as well. In her burst of adrenaline, she was able to carry your entirely—the same way she has cradled you as a toddler—to the escape pods. The banging against the door pounded at the same time your heart beats. The assassin has boarded the ship. A single unit can only fit one person, and there were two; before shutting the pod, she cupped your face so that you heed her well.
“[y/n], listen to me. You’re safe in this escape pod, the coordinates have already been entered in the controls. I’ll go in the second pod. And we’ll go see Papa together, okay?”
At face value, you understood well enough that you’re being separated from your mother. You began to choke while fighting back tears, never have you ever clutched your mother’s arm, and the fright was too great for you to bear alone. You weren’t even sure if you’d keep up with her in your own escape pod.
“Mom, please don’t leave me,” you cracked.
“I won’t, darling,” she kissed your forehead. Another bang from the door. “You know what to do, don’t you? I taught you this, remember?”
You nodded nervously, suddenly unconfident, but the lessons were still intact.
“You will be alright,” she removed her necklace and wore it around your neck. She pulled you in the tightest embrace she has ever given you, it was almost suffocating but you didn’t care. “I love you, darling. Oh my baby. My baby [y/n].”
You could hear her sobbing. It took a lot of her willpower to pull away, you sensed it that much. Just when she was about to board her own pod, the assassin had already broken down the door and attacked your mother. By sheer instinct, she slammed the eject button with her fist—but only for your escape pod.
“NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!” you screeched at the top of your lungs, the fiberglass window muffling the full volume of your cries. Your tiny fist pounded the door but it was too thick. From that small circular window that only occupied the whole of your face, you watched your mother defend herself against the assassin.
The assailant was fully covered from helmet to boot. Not even a peek of the eyes through the visor. Jezria and the assassin traded strikes with their vibroblades. You were so caught up with crying for your mother that you didn’t feel the loss of gravity around your escape pod. As the vessel throttles minutes later after ejection and drifts away into space, the less you saw of your mother. You continued to shriek through the door, unable to realize that there’s nothing much you could do except repeat the words “No” and “Mom.”
Farther away, you had full view of the shuttle, but no better view of Jezria. The next moment, the shuttle burst into flames. It felt like time had frozen itself, cruelly forcing you watch it for as long as the galaxy could take. Orange and red coated the original color of your irises, you held your breath even though you still had enough oxygen, you couldn’t take your eyes off of the destruction.
Your mother was in there.
You didn’t see the second escape pod be jettisoned. It never did.
You know the words, you just don’t have the strength to utter it through your mouth or your mind.
You’re now alone, stuck in the middle of space in a claustrophobic vessel that well may be your casket. Just when you were close to sulk on the floor and give up, the temperature around the pod flared, the turbulence rattled the pod so strongly that you practically shook with it.
Luckily, dejection still hasn’t devoured you fully. You followed the safety protocols of the escape pod from entering the atmosphere until you’ve landed and touched a planet’s surface. You buckled up, remembering what your mother taught you; upon realizing that your mother never entered any coordinates and just jettisoned your pod to safety before the assassin could reach you, now you could never reunite with your father as well, the only thing left to do is try to land the pod as daintily as you can.
“I hope this works…!” you groaned as you parroted the same dexterity your mother possessed when manning the ship.
The escape pod had a rough landing, but following the procedure greatly factored in your survival. You emerge out of the crash, bruised and dirtied, you gathered what you can from the wreckage and hiked your way to nowhere. With every step, you attempt to register every single thing has transpired. You may only be ten years old, but you were able to put the pieces together and assume the worst.
It was your uncle. No doubt about it.
“Now he’s done it,” you snarled, the searing heat of the sun burned along with the rage that colored your cheeks.
You decided to stick with that, overlooking one crucial question: can you prove it?
It all seemed hopeless. You’ve been wandering around in this temperate planet for hours now with little supplies. You’ve fought off the temptation of rummaging your bag for rations, you’re too famished to even think about conserving them.
That is until you met a kindly Iktotchi, the same Iktotchi who will foster you in the next few years into the woman you’ve grown to be now.

A girl covered in blood and dirt howled, scrapping at the concrete slab that had fallen on her leg with cracked nails. Fat tears streamed down her rosy cheeks when it seemed as if no one was coming for her, her once silvery eyes now blood shot from crying. "Papa!" The little girl hyperventilated when she was given no reply, hand shaking as blood pooled underneath the fallen debris, is this how she dies? Barely even ten and crushed by debris caused by a villain? "Momma! Daddy!"
Thousands of questions ran inside her head, shaking her body to the core with the unrelenting fear of death. The small girl croaked out a long cry, tears and snot making her look all the more pathetic as she flutily clawed at the concrete. "Papa! Papa-!" Loud shifting resonated from above, the fallen walls of the large building she was in moving aside to make way for a hulking figure. Whoever it was was framed in an ethereal, golden glow from the setting sun, like an angel sent from heaven to save the ten-year-old.
The bulky figure swiftly tossed away the fallen wall and jumped down into the cavern, flinging the concrete slab like it was a leaf and wrapping the child in his large arms. His muscles tensed at the loud booms above, the villain clearly ruining more of the city, but that did nothing to deter the figure's bright smile when he looked down. "What's your name, kid?" His voice will be forever engrained in her memory as an enthusiastic theatrical of hope.
"Aiko." The little girl meekly replied, curling into his muscular arms for some form of comfort.
"Well Aiko Shonen, everything will be fine. Why? Because I am here, All Might!" The bunny like hairs on his head waved as his smile only grew. Aiko only ever felt so safe around her papa, and this All Might figure made her feel just as safe as she would feel in her papa's arms.
A deep rumble echoed through the cavern, the hero's smile faltering the slightest bit, but quickly returned when he crouched down and jumped out of the cavern. Wind rushed through her long white drapes, her doe like eyes glowing from the immense strength the blond possessed. An old man dressed in hero's wear sped past All Might, the little girl following the yellow blur to what was happening behind her.
That was a mistake.
A deep feeling of dread washed over the entirety of Aiko small frame and made her feel utterly sick. A man clad in a crisp black suit loomed above all else. Red lightning like sparks shooting through the sky as his bulky frame floated above the toppled buildings and skyscrapers. Just how many bodies were under those buildings? And that mask, that terrifying, black, skull-like mask would forever be burned into her memory like a horribly large scar. Under his pristine black shoes were villains and heroes alike, bloodied and broken and dying.
A large hand turned her facing the sunset, a beautiful display of deep purples and bloody reds littered with fluffy stained clouds. "Don't worry, Aiko Shonen... you are safe now." All Might's bright, toothy grin brought her only more discomfort, it felt strained and off, as if he didn't believe his own words.
A certain yellow blur knocked Aiko and All Might out of the sky and into the debris of a near by building, a loud boom and an intense vacuum of air brushing past. The larger than life blond shielded her from the fall, sliding down and holding her close to his heaving chest. "Toshinori, watch out! Don't look away for one second or you'll give him the advantage!" Scolded the older man, not realizing All Might was carrying a small child in his arms.
"Perfect timing Gran Torino, take Aiko Shonen and get her out of here!" He handed her off to the elder, leaving nothing but dust in his wake as he jumped back into the fight. "Have Nighteye take her somewhere safer!"
Gran Torino swiftly pulled her into his arms and dashed away from the villain. The two made it safely out of the danger zone, a new, slim figure running to Torino. "Take her, T-All Might needs my help against All For One." His gruff voice reverberated off the fallen walls of what used to be a wealthy district. Once again, she was thrust into the hold of another hero, wincing at her broken leg.
Sir. Nighteye dashed across the debris ridden streets, blood and bodies littering them like trash. Aiko whimpered and curled in on herself, each and every detail of the villain attack being engraved into her brain. Not even a moment later she was given to a random citizen, probably a nurse or doctor from a nearby hospital. The citizen took her somewhere safer, away from the villains and heroes.
Aiko looked back one more time, All For One and All Might clashing against each other like titans or gods fighting for the mortal realm. Maybe that's what the fight is about, two titans fighting for power over the weak. That's what it looked like at least, wind pressure from their attacks brought more walls toppling down. She bit her bottom lip, being carried away from the carnage of the clashing gods.
~~~
White hair rushed through the small bedroom, scrambling to find her favorite pencil she must have dropped last night. She ducked under her bedframe, no not there, what about under her desk? Not there either. "Come on!" She whined, shuffling through sketchbooks and notebooks for the fifth time just to find her favorite mechanical pencil. "Oh, thank god!" She exclaimed, grabbing the old pencil, and stuffing it into her bag.
Quickly she collected the rest of her things and rushers out of her room. "Aiko! Hurry up you're going to be late!" Yelled her mother, a woman with a thin yet pear shaped frame and deep bags under her dull violet eyes. A messy bun made of curly turquoise hair rest upon her head. Her shrill voice echoed through the halls and into her room, drenching the little girl with a new sense of urgency.
"I'm leaving!" She reaffirmed. She dashed through the house to the front door. Slipping off her house shoes she quickly put on her outside shoes before opening the door.
"Oi! Aiko, where's my goodbye kiss?" Snarled a new figure, large and muscular with deep brown hair and yellow eyes. He tapped a thick finger against his cheek as he leaned closer to his adopted daughter's form.
Quickly she slipped off her outside shoes, she had quickly learned to never wear them on the floor, and leaned to kiss the man on the cheek. She returned to the front and waved a goodbye as she scurried out of the small house.
The young girl brushed her white hair out of her face, her roller blades now clipped onto the bottom of her shoes. Slinging her backpack securely on her back, she dipped out of the front yard and skated her way to public school.
Wind rushed through long locks of hair, her curly bangs framing her face as she sped through the busy sidewalks. Wide, hopeful, doe-like eyes watched the trees blur past. People and faces smudged by her speed, a grumpy pedestrian yelling at her to slow down. "Sorry sir!" She yelled back.
Aiko sighed at the sight of pink Sakura trees in the distance, indicating how close she was to her school. Skating past the iron gates and into the school, she threw her shoes into her locker and rushed into her homeroom class with only a few seconds to spare.
The skinny teacher glared at her. "You were almost late, again." His hands fell to his hips in a relaxed pose, eyes boring into the much smaller figure. If you moved his impossibly long blond bangs you would be able to see the orange, slitted eyes he had.
"Sorry Hagake Sensei, I woke up late again." She scratched the back of her neck and waved an apology.
"You can't be late if you want to be a hero, Aiko." He scolded, the thin tail and small cat ears waving disapprovingly. "Anyway, everyone here wants to be a hero so I'll go ahead and give you all the course selections." The cat-quirk teacher stalked through the desks, handing out papers that would change everyone's lives.
"Komori, you were going for UA right? Aiko, you too?" She sheepishly nodded when the orange eyes glanced into her own, taking thick strands of her hair and covering her mouth and cheeks with it. A habit she had developed after the incident. Her ice blue eyes looked over to the other name called, a young yet surprisingly fit boy with an impressive quirk.
Komori, a young man with a bat quirk and the physic to make it powerful. He was tall for his age, with a slim yet strong build, the only thing that wasn't conventionally attractive were the thick glasses on his button nose. But even then he made them look good. He had large ears, long fangs, a thin tail and huge wings draped behind his back. Pale, almost grey skin, with sharp purplish-red eyes complimented his short, yet messy, black hair.
————————————————
Name: Komori Suzuki
Quirk: Bat Mix
Quirk Details: Komori's quirk is pretty self-explanatory, he is a bat. Wings, tail, ears and fangs, he has both White-Winged Flying Fox (Mother—Kistune Suzuki) and Common Vampire Bat (Father—Kyūkestuki Suzuki). He has the best of both bats at his disposal.
————————————————
He cackled. "Ha! Really? That coward can't become a hero! Look at her, and her quirk is useless for hero work. The only thing she's good at is being a housewife!" Waving his leathery wings and kicking his feet up on the desk he continued to laugh at her flustered expression.
Komori could only be described as a misogynistic bastard. Aiko and him used to be friends, but when he was young he started all misogynistic towards her, typically using the housewife card against her. Still, throughout the years the two of them stuck around each other. Maybe it was a sense of familiarity between the two of them?
The girl shrunk into her chair, pulling her hair closer to her face. "I can be a hero...." Her soft tone drifted off until nothing but a pen dropping could be heard.
"Eh? What was that? You want to be a hero to avenge your old man?" He jumped on the desk and leaned down, the pearly fangs flashing dangerously. "There's no way you'd be able to do that, you can't to anything for yourself! You're just a damn damsel in distress, so give up."
The teacher glared at him and smacked a clawed hand on the back of his neck. "Shut it Komori! You'll never be a hero with that attitude!" Sensei growled and handed the both of you your papers. "It won't hurt to try, Aiko." He reassured with a pat on the girl's shoulder.
"R-right." Komori got up from the floor and glared at the teacher comforting the smaller girl. He scoffed and returned to his desk, there was no reason for him to be so mean to her, but he did anyway. Maybe he took a sadistic pleasure in messing with her.
"Anyway, this is due tomorrow," waved the teacher as he sauntered back up to the front of the rowdy class. "I forgot to give it to you guys on Monday so don't forget. If you guys don't turn it in tomorrow you won't be going to a hero school." He waited for an answer, his eye twitching when he didn't get one. "Am I clear?"
"Yes sir!" Yelled the class.
~~~
Aiko leaned on her tippy toes to grab her outside shoes and clip-on roller blades, jumping when a clawed hand slammed beside her locker. She squealed and whipped around, coming face to face with collared shirt. "Wh-What do you want, Komori?"
Glazed over plum eyes glared through thick lenses. "Why do you even want to be a hero? It's not like you'll be able to fix what the villain did so you should just give up." His throat rumbled a growl. "Seriously, you should just leave it to me, I'll get the job done unlike you." The violent eyes hardened slightly at her scared expression. "Seriously, Sweetheart, you'll get your weak-ass self hurt."
The white haired girl glanced up and shriveled into the locker. "I-I'm still going to try... Sensei said I should."
Komori opened his mouth as if he was about to say something but was interrupted by a few other delinquents. He scoffed when she dipped past his arms and wings and ran out of the school, struggling to run and clip on her skates. "When are you gonna kiss her Komori? Seriously you've been closing in on her from the beginning." Chattered one friend.
"Oh fuck off, she's just going to get herself killed." The aspiring bat hero puffed his chest and flared his wings. "And what type of hero would I be if I didn't try to save a lady-in-waiting, huh?"
Aiko stumbled past the school gates, recommendation paper in hand. Once she made it far enough she dipped into a dark alleyway and curled onto the ground. Fat yet silent tears streamed down her cheeks as she did her best to calm her anxiety. The girl tightly gripped her hair and shoved it in her face trying to calm herself. "Breathe... breathe... breathe...." She chanted.
Slowly but surely her anxiety levels died down with her calming strategy. She wiped away her tears and sipped on the last of her left over water. "Brrreeeeaaaaatttthhhhheeee...." She tensed at the buzz in her pocket, pulling out her small flip phone to see who texted her.
[Mr. Takahashi] 'Get some Tokoyaki on the way home.'
[Aiko] 'Yes Sir.'
She bit her bottom lip and furrowed her brows, waiting for a reply, luckily there was none so she relaxed. Taking her leave out of the alleyway, the small girl made her way over to the best Tokoyaki shop nearby.
A loud boom erupted out of the same street the shop was on, Aiko worriedly rushing over to the sound. Smoke covered the skies as more explosions went off. A chattery crowd formed at the street entrance, but Aiko wasn't worried about what was happening. She quickly pulled out her phone and started texting.
[Aiko] 'I'm sorry, I'm going to be late. The shopping district is under attack by a villain.'
She worriedly waited for a reply, doing her best to shuffle through the crowd to get a good look at the commotion. A blond, skeleton of a man coughed his way next to you, leaning on a lamppost and looking above the crowd. "Sir? What-what is going on?"
The blond slightly jumped in surprise at the delicate voice, looking down and taking in the little girl standing before him. Something about her seemed familiar, though he couldn't exactly place it. "A villain, nothing to worry about the heroes will take care of it." In all honesty, he couldn't exactly see everything that was going on. Between the explosions and smoke, all he could see was the sludge villain he failed to detain.
His deep, sultry voice calmed her, but the intense expression he wore had the opposite effect. Biting her bottom lip, she shuffled her way to the front of the crowd. Pedestrians around her worriedly talking to themselves, every time another explosion went off they would flinch. She would too.
Finally squeezing to the front of the crowd she saw what was happening. An ash-blond, about her age, writhed inside the sludge monster, gasping every time he could get some air. He screamed when his mouth was free, a violent cry for help that no hero seemed to be answering.
Aiko took a step closer, the water hero yelling at her to stay back. "He-He needs help! He'll die if no one helps him!" She screamed back, staring at the hero with a pleading expression. "You guys need to save him!"
"We can't, no one here can stop that villain. We are holding off until someone more prepared saves him!"
'He can't wait that long', she thought, looking at the frustrated features of the blond middle schooler. But she waited, too afraid to mess up and make things worse. Her quirk would only make things worse.
Anxiously she held her hair to her face, waiting for someone more adapt to the villain to save whoever was trapped. People happily cheered a new hero, Mt. Lady running to the scene. She stopped however, obviously she wouldn't be able to help with her quirk.
The small female was pushed to the side, another middle schooler, this time with fluffy dark green hair, stared at the scene in front of him. His freckles face contorted to a look of pure horror, a strained voice quietly calling out a name. "Kacchan!"
She watched as his feet controlled his body, taking him into the smoke ridden streets to the sludge monster. She gasped and lunged forward to grab him but missed, the small boy slipping through her fingers.
"Kacchan!" He yelled, tossing his backpack into the villain's face.
Aiko watched with admiration for the obviously weaker boy who ran in like a true hero. The ash blond also thrashing with strength and aggression she would never have. Unlike Aiko, they looked like they would be fine heroes.
She is a coward, too afraid to even try in fear of ruining everything. It reminded her of what happened six years ago, how helpless she was when all hell broke loose, how she was saved by All Might before loosing everything. She was frustrated, small tears dripping down her face at her pathetic display of bravery.
Wind smacked her long hair in her face, bringing her back to the present. It was him, All Might! The best hero to ever exist rushing to stop the bad guy and save the kids.
With a single punch, her hero saved the day. The once blue skies turning a dark grey and drenching the debris covered streets. Her tears replaced by cold rain as the crowd waited for All Might to make a move.
He raised his fist high, stumbling only Aiko seemed to notice, but remained victorious none the less. The once silent crowd burst into cheers, praises and hallelujahs for the savior of the two middle schoolers.
A ping from her pocket took her away from the heroic sight. With a heavy hand the little girl looked at the messages flooding her texts.
[Mr. Takahashi] 'Hurry up.'
Quickly she replied back.
[Aiko] 'Yes Sir.'
She would have to appreciate All Might and the middle schoolers online once she got back home. Swiftly Aiko squeezed past the crowd and skated over to the nearest Tokoyaki stall.
~~~
Unlocking the front door and balancing the packaged Tokoyaki drained the last of Aiko's energy. She took off her shoes and plopped the food onto the kitchen counter.
Mrs. Takahashi undid the wrapping, disregarding the younger girl and the paper in her hands. "Go do your homework, Aiko."
"You have to sign this. It's for the hero courses I want to sign up for." A small hand calmly pushed the paper in front of her adopted mother, a delicate smile upon her features.
"Fine, here." The azure haired woman signed the paper, the man of the household walking up behind the two.
"Hero courses huh? You better sign up for UA and get in, you'd be able to pay for our retirement!" The brown haired man bellowed, taking some of the food Aiko brought home and stuffing it into his mouth. "Seriously, you better get into UA." He scolded through chewing.
"Yes sir, I was planning on doing that." Thinking about All Might, the middle schoolers and all the reasons she want to be a hero to begin with, if she had the opportunity she would take it. This was her opportunity and no one would change her mind.
She took her food and went to her room, finishing up her homework and taking a shower. Now with her sleepwear on, all her homework finished, she plopped into her bed.
Aiko's light blue eyes glanced over to a treasured photo, the moonlight seeping from the closed blinds providing just enough light to illuminate the three of the six figures. She was very young when her family took the picture, her host mother and host father's smiles bringing a pang of joy through her heart. Her host mother had long, pink hair and a curvaceous body, while her host father was a muscular lean figure with pitch black skin and sharp teeth.
The fifteen year old decided to wear a yellow sundress that day, a big smile knowing her family was standing behind her. She wished they were still here and she wasn't with Mr. and Mrs. Takahashi... but that was too much to wish for.
She curled in on herself under the thick covers, letting the sweet memories of her past lull her into a dreamless slumber.
Introduction/Background
Xena Sharptooth has lived as an urchin most of her life and being abandoned by her own mother she took to the street and stole food from the markets and earn gold by singing. However her luck rang out when the fruit seller caught and prepared to chop her hands off as punishment, but then an old Paladin by the name of Sir Alistair Brightworth, servant to Bahamut stopped this a says that he will take this half orc and make something out of her. With little to no choice but to go with the old paladin he takes her to the monastery and begins her training. As she grew she became a strong and skilful with a shield and sword and was given the test to become one of the generals.
Unfortunately, being a half orc the some of paladins and clerics were terrified, disgust and jealousy that such a creature would become one of the leaders. Before she could even start the test the head of the monastery struck a trial of scandal and murder on her; to her horror and sadness no one, not even her brothers and sisters in training took a stand with her and she was banished from the one place she thought was her true home. Now older and bitter Xena took to the mountains, killing bandits and evil creatures to take her mind off her anger and ignore the voice of a being who asks for forgiveness and redemption.
In town for a drink and supplies Xena comes across an old companion of hers, Lady Kima who she trained with. She pleads to Xena to come with her to Kraghammer to find a great evil that could be hidden within it’s depths; with great hesitation and a migraine from the voice in her head she agrees and goes with her to find this darkness and hopes that not only she makes it out alive but to have the voice stop talking to her.
Prologue
Xena Sharptooth was having a good day!
Not only did she get rid of the rest of the bandits that have been terrorizing a village but also found a bag of holding! How the bloody hell the leader came by such a thing is beyond her but she didn’t question it cause she can only imagine the vibrating purrs in her head would do.
Oh yes, ever since her banishment from the Paladins of Bahamut the Platinum Dragon, the stupid lizard has not let her forget that they have not forsaken her. No matter how much she tries to ignore them they seem to insist on sticking around, it didn’t really help that she was helping villages and other unpopular areas with their troubles for only a few things like food and sleep. Hell in a few minutes she is about to head out to farmers home and help them harvest their goods in exchange for a sack of vegetables, can’t exactly tell a god to fuck off when you are doing good deeds left and right.
Oddly though, as they tore her holy symbol from her armor they allowed her to keep it along with her weapons.
“The Platinum Dragon gave you those tools, though you have used them for your own gain than for others they are still yours.” one of the head ass-holes had explained as they dragged her out.
Scoffing at the whole situation, she puts the last of the goods in her new bag of holding, she puts the strap over her shoulder and makes her way to the village.
The breastplate, though showed it has seen many battles with scuff marks and a few dents here and there one could tell it was kept after Xena thanked the heavens that it was made out of mithril one of the sturdier metals in the world.
Xena hums, as she walks through the animal, made trail, feeling pretty good besides the few scars added to her body; particularly the one at her cheekbone almost making her lose her eye were it not for turning her head the last second.
There’s a spark inside us
that we can all ignite
and all that’s dark inside us
will flicker into light
Like any warrior who has been in battle; scars and wounds were merely accessories and reminders that they have survived her learned in a library that Orcs regard battle scars as tokens of pride and ornamental scars as things of beauty. Her light green colored skin showed all her scars with no help and also being like a beacon if any sort of light took a shine to her and as if she wasn’t so horrific to humans, the orcs gave pause at her green flesh while they had their grey pigmentation before charging at her to attack.
Of all the healers and friendly scholars she would come across none of them could explain what was going on with her skin, she can only assume it had something to do with her parents or a mutation.
There’s a power in every breath
there’s a power in every note
a power that starts within the heart
a power that rises through the throat
Her tusks though not prominent still like to remind people of her background when she grinned in amusement or gave a sneer at a threat. She was of course teased for her features and there had been times where she wanted nothing more than to file her tusks, they did help her in a pinch when she had to bite an offender who thought covering her mouth was a good idea, she still chuckles at that memory. Her wild black hair still a mess after one of the bandits cut the string holding it up, got a stab in the foot for that, cascaded down her shoulders and to the middle of her back. Normally she would either has it in a ponytail or a plait to keep it out of her face, never once considering getting it cut.
And when it sails up through the air
more beautiful than any prayer
this power can right all wrong
and it will always thrill the ear
of those who have the power to hear
the magic of a song
Now it was her eyes that gave her confounded her; wolf eyes some called them with the yellow glare piercing one's soul if you got close enough to her. No other orc or even half-orcs had the eyes she had, maybe it was the gods' idea of a joke since her skin already make her freak why not throw in wolf eyes, she could feel the lizard admonish her, it gave the locals the idea to nickname her Einn ulfur, Lone Wolf.
There’s a strength inside us
that tells us wrong from right
becomes a song inside us
to chase away the night
By the end of her singing, she made it to the village, it was still midday so there not a lot of people about what harvest time being near and going about their own life. Xena frequent the village a lot so no one really balked at the half-orc heading straight for their elders with a slight smirk on her face. The elders consisted of three female halflings; Shaena Underbough, Portia Tosscobble, and last and certainly not the least Lavina Goodbarrel. Lavina is the eldest of the three and was the first to welcome Xena into the village with open arms, even offering her a place to stay in her home after her banishment from Paladins.
“Ah! And there she is!” Elder Lavina crowed. “Merle! You owe me a pint!”
Merle, husband to Lavina chuckles. “Aye I never should wager against Ulfer, especially against you love.”
“The bandits are no more.” Xena reports, placing the bag of holding to the ground and pulling out all the goods and other useful things for the elders and village to use. “They will not be bothering you a moment longer and I have found some trinkets and the like for you all.”
Lavina raises an eyebrow at the goods. “For bandits going after a small village as ours makes one wonder why they even bother with all this shit.”
“Them swords will be of help for certain.” Shaena says, watching the pile of weapons grow. “Heaven knows our people need them when you go off into the world again, I must say again how much we appreciate your help luv.”
“Mmm.” Portia mumbles, placing her pipe next to her knitting project before getting up and going to inspect the goods. “Plus Jeorge will getting more than enough supplies for the winter with these, did you find your own trinkets to take?”
Xena presents the bag of holding to them with a smirk. “The leader somehow got his hands on this, it is enough for me to-”
“The pretty bag is not enough of a reward for what you have done Ulfer!” Portia interrupts, frowning up at her. “Shaena may just let you do that but I and many others will draw the line if we must! I am sure there is enough gold for you to take.”
With that along with a sound of offense from the other lady, Shaena picks up a rather large sack of what is clearly gold and places it in a bemused Xena’s hand. Shaena though the youngest is the much stricter of the three and much more wary of strangers; when Xena first arrived in the village after months on her own after banishment Shaena was very hesitant to lend a hand to the creature that limped it’s way to their little village with nothing but armor and weapons on her person asking for a simple cup of milk in exchange to help any way she can. Lavina swooped onto Xena before the other two could say anything and the next thing they knew they had a mean green fighting being who protected the village and provided help to others.
“Jeorge will be heading for the city early in the morning, best get cleaned and well-rested for the trip.” Lavina informs Xena, picking up what looks like a bottle of fancy wine.
Xena smiles at the ladies, giving them a nod before heading for Lavina’s townhouse to do just that. Many of the halflings who live in the village greet her as she passes by, along with thanks as she left.
The next morning as she ate the last of her second breakfast Xena Sharptooth was ready for the road along with Jeorge. It took nearly a day to reach the city and Xena slips a gold to Jeorge in thanks as she leaves to the nearest tavern for a late dinner and sees if there were any jobs for her to do.
The Hanging Man was a dwarf-owned tavern so the place looks more made of stone than wood but with how many brawls and fights started one was pretty smart to not have many things made of wood. A large fire pit where many types of meat were being cooked in the middle of the tavern sizzled through the air and made Xena’s mouth water as she could taste that goat leg she had been eyeing as she entered.
One of her favorite meats in the world before her and the bag of holding? Maybe the old lizard was onto something.
“Hello!” a bright-eyed elf wench greets from over the booth with a smile. “Welcome to the Hanging Man! My name is Amelia how may I help you?”
“Leg of goat and a pint of ale.” Xena orders, taking a seat.
“You mean lamb?” she asks with a raised eyebrow.
Xena gave it back. “No I mean that goat leg you have in the fire pit.”
Amelia looks over to the fire pit before shaking her head. “I am sorry but that is for a customer-”
“Actually it is for her.” a soft familiar voice beside from beside her. “Please get it for.”
Xena’s whole body freezes at the voice. Are you fucking kidding you lizard!
A light purr was her reply.
“Three years away and I still know one of your weaknesses, Xena. Never understood your taste in goat than a lamb but to each their own.”
From the corner of her eye she watched as the halfling woman climbs onto the stool beside her, her dirty blond hair tightly braided, complexion darker than the usual halfling with a big scar across the side of her face along with other, smaller scars and of course wearing armor representing gold, silver, and blue of Bahamut.
“Oh like your weakness isn’t teriyaki chicken wings?” Xena mutters, tapping the booth waiting for her drink.
“Oooh don’t remind me, I haven’t had those in months!” the Halfling woman laughs.
Thankfully Xena didn’t have to wait long as her pint arrived along with the goat leg... though it looks magnificent and just asking to be devoured.
“What brings you here Lady Kima?” she asks, sipping her ale. “Don’t you and those dumb-asses have to keep Emon protected since you failed that last time around, also well done on that.”
“What? Can I not wonder about my vacation?” Lady Kima asks with a small smirk completely ignoring Xena’s comment.
“Not when you have Lady Allura waiting for you at home.” Xena was quick to reply.
Lady Kima’s dark complexion became darker as she clears her throat looking around nervously. “She is busy with her own things and I am not here to talk about such things. I am here for you though.”
“Oh? What happened? Is there something else they wanted to accuse me of?” She asks rolling her eyes. “Did I throw Timmy down the well?”
“No Xena this doesn’t have anything to do with the order and more of a personnel matter.” Lady Kima sighs. “I was given a vision... a dark one.”
Xena turns her head to Lady Kima, showing that she was paying attention. It wasn’t really all surprising that paladins got visions or messages from Bahamut it was just rare when they do give it so when one says they got a vision, you listen.
“I saw darkness taking root beneath Kraghammer, the dwarven city northeast of Emon in the Cliffkeep Mountains. I have been hiring a couple of mercenaries to accompany me into the mines and into the Underdark, and I want you to join me.” Just as she finished the sentence Xena choked back her drink.
Coughing a bit, wiping her mouth with her arm Xena looks over at Lady Kima in shock. “Okay first off you owe another ale, second of all wherein all your vision did it say ‘It’s dangerous to go alone, bring the half-orc that your order banished years ago!’ like seriously Kima.”
“Xena, the Order has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with my visions and they certainly have nothing to say about who I bring with me. Besides, in my vision; within the darkness, I saw a figure of a wolf within it, guiding me through the caves of the deep.”
There was a silence between the two.
“And the last murmurs I have heard here and in neighboring villages, that there is a half-orc wondering the area, helping the less fortunate, caring for those in need with the strength of ten men and eyes like a wolf, they call her Einn Ulfer... Lone Wolf, Now I wonder would such a person does not help her old mentor in her quest to suppress the darkness from taking hold in this world?” Lady Kima asks, gently placing it beside Xena’s hand.
Xena looks down at the object, taking a deep breath as she stares at her the most precious thing that was taken away from her, her holy symbol. The lizard her head purrs comfortingly, encouraging her to do what is right and help her Lady Kima.
Reaching over she picks up the symbol, grasping tightly to it as she feels the vibrating purrs in her head transfer slowly from her head down her body and into the item in her hand.
Xena sighs. “So, Kraghammer huh?”
Lady Kima smiles.
Sequal to the post I posted yesterday.
What the hell are you doing here?!" Oscar and the pretty brown-haired girl, Velvet covered their ears as Jaune shouted. The young boy looked up to Jaune a bit scared.
"I followed you to school?" He said uncertainty.
Jaune growled at Oscar. "I can see that!"
At that moment, Velvet decided to speak up. "Is this your little brother Jaune? He's cute." She said with a smile as she ruffled Oscar's hair a bit.
Jaune picked up Oscar and tucked him under his arm. "No, he's a pain in the ass and it's time to say goodbye to him. Before Velvet could respond, he walked away with Oscar in tow without a word.
"Bye Velvet! I'll make sure Jaune comes to school more!" Oscar shouted to her.
Velvet smiled sadly as she watches Jaune's form leaves her sight. xoxoxoxo
"How did you even sneak into the school! Jaune said furiously.
I disguise myself as a school bag! Oscar said proudly, puffing his chest out.
Jaune slaps his forehead and groans."And everyone fell for that?!"
Oscar pulls on Jaune's pants leg to get him to pay attention."Jaune we have to start your training!
Jaune looked down at the cloaked child in suspicion. "Training for what.
Oscar smiled widely and pulled out a sheet of paper that Jaune read as, MAKE JAUNE POPULAR!
"What?" He deadpan.
"Right now, you have no friends, not counting Miss Velvet, but if we follow this we make you a ton of friends by the end.
Jaune stares blankly at Oscar as he continued. "The first step is simple, Go find a bully, and beat him up! Perfect right?"
"Wrong," Jaune replied with a shake of his head. "I don't know if you can tell, but I'm not exactly John Wick, you know?
"Who's John Wick?" Oscar asked with a tilled of his head. Jaune sighed.
"You know what, Go find a bully and beat him up. Okay?"
Oscar fist-pumped and began to run off.
"I won't let you down Jaune! I'll find the nasty guy, pick a fight with him, and then you can make a ton of friends! He called out to him.
Jaune smirk. "He'll be looking for awhile."He thought to himself. "Even if he does find someone, the kid will be fine. He can shoot lightning. What could possibly go wrong?. XoXoXo
Velvet sighed as she watched Jaune leave with the little boy tucked between his arm.
Velvet decided to walk to the vending machine. As she walked she remember the time she spent with Jaune back in elementary school up to high school. She had moved from Australia back as a kid because of her parent's jobs. Not a lot of kids would talk to Velvet because of her bad french. No one but Jaune.
"At least he didn't leave school yet." She muttered to herself.
He even helped improve her french. Because of him, she made friends outside of the two of them. But when they got to high school, something changed. People had started to hate Jaune. Started to avoid him because they thought he was looking down on them for being smarter. Jaune Arc is, or at least was her best friend. And it hurts to see such a dear friend push her away after being friends for so long.
But she wasn't gonna let it happen again, she was going to help Jaune the best she could. She snapped out of her thoughts as she bumped into something.
"Ah Velvet." She heard a thuggish voice say to her. " Just the girl I was looking for.
Velvet looked up to see the school's bully and all-around Jackass. Cardin Winchester. XoXoXoXo
Oscar ran around the school grounds, his cloak flapping behind him with a huge grin on his face as he looked look for bullies for Jaune to beat and become popular.
He heard a scream and he sees a huge orange hair boy drag that pretty lady that was Jaune's friend somewhere.
"Ah-ha! A bully!" Oscar grinned and ran after them. XoXoXo
Jaune walked down the hallway. He didn't know why but he had a bad feeling and his mother wouldn't be happy to hear that he had just let an eight-year-old go and pick a fight with some teenagers. So Jaune went looking for Oscar. It took him until near the end of the lunch period when he heard Velvet's voice scream out near the door to the roof.
"What's wrong with you?! He's just a kid leave him alone!"
Jaune rushes up to the door to the roof and looked out the window to see the school's biggest dickhead Cardin. He wonders where Velvet was when he look to where Cardin was looking.
He saw that Oscar beat up and bruised as Velvet being in a similar way, her standing in front of the young boy like a shield. Tears Streamed down Velvet face as she pulls out her wallet.
"Listen just take my money and leave okay! I don't wanna cause any more problems.
Oscar grabbed Velvet hand and managed to smile despite the blood dripping down his freckled face.
"You don't do that. Jaune will be here to kick this guy ass!"
Cardin laughs at the young boy words. "Arc? You think Arc gonna come to your rescue?" The ginger clutches his stomach as he laughs even harder.
"That aggronce ass doesn't give a shit about anything! All he does is look down on people. Nobody cares if Arc is here or not!"
Jaune lowered his head and smiles bitterly. Cardin wasn't wrong in a sense. No one really cared if he was here or not. He wonders why he came here in the first place. To get away from Oscar? Who was he kidding?
If he wanted to get away from him he could have gone anywhere but school. He came hoping that he would be accepted by his peer. But what was the point? No one wants him here.
"Shut up!" Oscar shouted surprising Jaune and Cardin. "Do you know about Jaune?! I know he's a good person deep down! Everyone else is mean to him! You jerks just can't handle that might be smarter than you! And when he gets here, he gonna beat you into the ground!"
Jaune chuckled a bit.
"You don't know me that well either kid." Jaune thought to himself with a slight smile.
"Well…. I guess I better not make the kid liar. Jaune kick opens the door with a grin. "Never fear! Jaune Arc is here!"
"Jaune!" Velvet said as Oscar grinned. Cardin cracks his knuckles as he walks up to Jaune.
"Well, Well Well. Cardin chuckled. "So that little pipsqueak said you came to beat me up Arc." Cardin grinned, trying to hold in his laughter.
Jaune smiled boldly wasn't as confident as Cardin. The bully was taller than him granted not by much but it was enough. To Jaune's credit managed to keep his voice from cracking as he spoke.
"That's right. Unless you leave these people alone." Jaune peak over Cardin's shoulder to look at the bruised up Oscar and glared at Cardin."Seriously, who the hell beat up an eight-year-old?"
"I do. And after I kick your ass I'll take his money along with your and Velvet money as payment for wasting my time with this bullshit."
"Bold of you to assume you're going to-" Jaune was cut off as the wind was knocked out of as Cardin slammed his fist into his stomach. At the moment Jaune was full of regret. He shouldn't have tried to fight this guy, what was he thinking? Cardin was a monster compared to him he didn't have a chance. As Cardin throw a punch to the side of Jaune head, he felt his vision dim a bit. But an idea came into his head.
If he read that book he had taken from Oscar he could get out of his mess. After Cardin wailed on Jaune for awhile he throws him toward Velvet and Oscar, to Jaune's luck.
"Jaune!" Velvet cried out as she saw her friend on his back. She helped him to his stand to his feet. "Just let me give him the money and we can end this.
Jaune winched as he stood on his feet. "Nah. No need. I got a plan Vel."
Oscar grin at Jaune. "I knew you were a hero Jaune!" He turns back to glare at Cardin. "How are we taking this jerk?
Jaune pulls out Oscar book and opens it to the first page.
"Like this: Ozkeiru!" He bellowed out.
Oscar's eyes went blank and he opened his mouth, lighting gets fired out of his mouth.
Shard of the roof went flying as the bolt went fly toward Cardin, narrowing missing the ginger.
Cardin looks at the trio in horror before fainting on the spot.
XoXoXo
Oscar sat in front of the tv in Jaune's room laughing at old Looney tunes cartoons. He was still wearing the cloak that he came with. Jaune seems to notice that Oscar didn't really take it off, even when he sleeps. The blonde shook his head and went back to the book Oscar came with. He needs to learn how Oscar power work. There is no telling if he'll need it again or not.
"Okay… let's go down the list of things that I know about. Jaune mutter to himself quietly enough so the tyke in his room couldn't hear him.
One: Oscar has no idea that he can fire lighting out of his mouth. The truth was after what happened on the roof Oscar said that he could only remember blacking out and when he came to he say the butthead(His words, not Jaune unconscious on the roof. Along with some parts of the roof being gone. Jaune didn't tell, Oscar the truth about what happened, he didn't know why and he was grateful that Velvet came to her own conclusion that lighting that came from the sky and destroys the roof instead of lighting coming out of Oscar's mouth. It saves him explaining from not only her but the teachers that had come up to the roof. But back, on track. Number two is that based off the two times Jaune had the book in his hand Oscar could only use his powers then. It seems that Oscar couldn't do it own. 3. Jaune could only read one word off the book. Which frustrated him to no end! He read every old text he could find but nothing could match what language that was in the book. He was going to go to the book again with a hand covering his eyes.
"Guess who Jauney!" A voice sang out, one Jaune recognizes quickly causing him to groan.
"Hmm. Either it's Napoleon or Saprhon. I'd rather have Napoleon."
Saphron took her hand up a Jaune's face allowing him to see her smiling at him, blue eyes meeting blue eyes. Jaune turned around the face Saphron and then noticed that his elder sister was holding Oscar in her tucked arm, looking quite confused to why this stranger was holding him. But Saphron oddly went on like Oscar wasn't in her arms.
"It's been a while Jaune! Mom said you've been going back to school again! That's great!" Saphron smile again.
Jaune decided to roll with Saphron and wait for her to notice she was holding Oscar.
"Yeah. I deduce that it was time to rejoin society and all that jazz. Anyway, how was your trip to that College?" Saphron walked over to Jaune's bed and sat on it with Oscar trying to squirm out of her arm.
"It was alright. Don't think I'm going to go to that college. I rather stay here in France near you and mom." Saphron looked around the room.
" Mom told me that there was a little boy that dad spend to live with is but I don't see him anywhere. Where is the Jaune?"
Oscar during is squirming decided to speak up finally.
"I'm here! My name is Oscar pine!"
Saphron looks down to smiled sheepishly at the little boy.
"Hello, Oscar. I'm Saphron. When did I pick you up?"
"When you entered the room."He said, not trying to escape anymore. It was futile Saphron's grip was too tight.
"I'm so sorry. How old are you Oscar?"
"8!"
Saph couldn't stop smiling for some reason, Oscar reminds her of Jaune when he was the same age.
"I use to pick up Jaune without noticing when he was around your age!" Jaune let off a little cough to let them know he was still there.
" I'm actually glad you're back Saph." He said opening the green book and showing his sister a page. "I was hoping you can help read this, Dad and I can't do it so far."
Saph seat Oscar in her lap and squinted her eyes to read the book.
"Sorry, bro I can't read this. It's all a bunch of gibberish to me."
"Can you read the word in red at least?"
Saphron looked at him confused.
"What red line?"
Jaune paused. Only he could read the book?
A/N: This ones a bit touchy folks. I also wrote Roper a bit comical in a way just because he’s always come off that way to me? Idk it could be because I still think of House when I look at em. (I’ve been looking for an excuse to use the gif featured because idk what it is about wounded men?? They’re 10x hotter but I also feel bad??)
Summary: A voice from the past emerges.
Chapter 13: Bloodroot p. ii
“Come out, come out wherever you are little girl~” One of Travis’s thugs chimed out, holding his gun out and motioning the other three to follow in short. “Careful, she might have a bit of a bite.” He joked to his comrades. The garden was huge and not only had large rocks for Katie to hide behind, but also some various trees. “Get ready to shoot if she’s up in the trees, but do not kill her or the boss will kill us instead.” The goon said, scanning the area.
A splashing noise had them all turn around to the area of where the koi pond was. “Zac what the hell was that?” Another crony panicked and looked around frantically, holding his gun close.
“Come on Andrew, you cannot be serious. She’s a girl without any defenses and no back up, you really think she’s gonna get you? Dumb ass.” Zac shook his head and turned to the other two, Dylan and Jimmy. He nodded in separate directions and grinned, “She can’t hide forever…” He put his gun away and stopped in the middle of the garden, holding his arms out. “Listen sweetie, as much as I enjoy a good game this is gonna get nasty real quick if you don’t cooperate with us.” He spoke loud and clear.
“Zac, we’ve got about twenty minutes until authorities arrive. I’ve already notified-” Jimmy began to speak before he was interrupted by a sudden dragging noise. The dirty haired man looked around, pushing his glasses up, “Where did Dylan go?” He spoke slowly.
“See! I was right Zac!! I fucking saw it coming!! We can’t underestimate females one bit!!” Andrew panicked, letting his anxiety get the better of him.
“That’s fucking right!” Katie came around the corner, holding her knife to Dylan’s throat and using him as a human shield. “You shouldn’t underestimate me. Just because your boss fucked me up doesn’t mean I can’t break free of his control.” She growled, pressing the blade harder against Dylan’s throat. Never before had the brunette ever actually killed another person and she wanted to avoid that at all cost. Death was something that she didn’t do well with, no matter who it was. Her breathing became a little harder as she noticed the others begin to make a formation around her. “TAKE A STEP NEAR ME AND I’LL SLIT HIS THROAT!!” She screeched, eyes wide and full of fear.
Dylan began to squirm, trying to use his height to his advantage and eventually succeeding. He broke free of Katie’s hold only to have her knife lodged in the back of his neck. “YOU BITCH!!” He screamed, falling to the ground.
“FUCK WHAT TRAVIS SAYS! KILL THIS LITTLE BITCH!!” Zac pointed to her, pulling out his gun and firing an entire clip at her. Andrew and Jimmy followed in short before Zac pointed to Jimmy. “YOU STAY OUTTA THIS IN CASE SHE MANAGES TO-” He couldn’t finish as a shot was fired and pierced right through his brain, killing him instantly. No one knew where the hell that shot came from and it sent the surviving three in a panic.
Out of nowhere, Katie tackled Jimmy to the ground as she took him out from his legs. She had taken cover behind the large rock in the knick of time just as Zac had begun to empty his clip. Using her training, she wrapped her arms tightly around Jimmy’s thighs and somersaulted forward; throwing him as hard as she could. Another shot was fired, taking Jimmy out and causing Katie to take cover when yet another gunshot sounded off.
“KNOCK THIS OFF!! WHOEVER’S SHOOTING AT US, GIMME A MINUTE!!” Dylan roared, ripping Katie’s blade out of his neck and whipping it at her.
“A-AAGH!!” She fell to the ground, clenching her teeth as Dylan had landed a lucky shot to her right leg. “Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck- UGH!” A fist slammed across Katie’s face and she was sent flying backwards a bit. Her back skid across the stones in the garden and head hitting a large boulder near the koi pond. More pain seared through her body as Dylan was punching her as hard as he could, knowing that she couldn’t fight back. Suddenly, sharp pain started to prick her in certain places on her body as the knife was ripped from her leg. She began to scream from being stabbed, crying out for help of any sort. The next thing she knew was that her head was forced under the water and being held there. She could feel blood leaking from her body and Dylan’s large hands wrapped tightly around her throat as he held her underwater. This was it- This was the end of her life and it was subsequently by the hands of Travis in the most indirect way. She was too weak to fight back and her vision began to go in and out, inhaling water as she was desperate to breathe.
CRACK!
The pressure of Dylan’s hands suddenly released, causing Katie to inhale more water as she was too weak to move. She managed to hear a faint thudding noise as Dylan’s body dropped beside her, motionless. With her vision now completely blacking out, Katie mouthed Jonathan’s name to the best of her ability and gave into the drowning darkness. At least her last thoughts were of the man who had stolen her heart.
“Well, we can’t have that now can we.” A british man’s voice sounded through the garden and he walked towards Katie, staring at her for a moment before hoisting the drowning girl from the pond. “Sorry Pine, I’m afraid I’ll have to kiss your girl to save her. Although, I’m certainly no prince charming; not in the slightest.” Roper chortled to himself, bending down and performing CPR to bring Katie back from a watery death.
--------
Jonathan slammed his fist across Travis’s face, dodging the other man’s swings as best as he could. Not too long ago, Pine had knocked the gun from Travis and thus ensued an exchange of fists. He panted hard, exhaustion becoming apparent from the amount of energy he exerted fighting Travis.
“What’s the matter old man? Can’t fight anymore?” Katie’s ex grinned wickedly, panting just as hard. “I’ve got all day!” Travis lifted his leg, swinging it and knocking Jonathan prone. Having the upperhand, Travis marched over to Pine and stomped on his chest. He dug his heel into his ribs and laughed as he heard a satisfying crunching noise accompanied by Jonathan’s scream. “We aren’t so different, you and I.” He grinned, stomping again and breaking another rib. Travis socked Pine across the face over and over as he heard him attempt to speak. “YOU LISTEN TO ME WHEN I’M TALKING!! I don’t give a shit about respecting elders, I’m the alpha around here.”  He gave one last good hit across Jonathan’s face before being satisfied.
Everything hurt, his body ached from all the straining and exertion he had been forced to use. This was exactly like the time he had “rescued” Dans, Roper's son. “Don’t hurt her.” He muttered. “Please. Don’t hurt.” He choked a little from snot and blood before being grabbed by the front of his shirt and hoisted up. Through beaten eyes, he could hardly see Travis’s sick smirk. He could care less about what was said before, all he could think about was getting to Katie and saving her.
“Now, as I was saying before you so rudely interrupted me.” Travis chuckled, examining his fingernails on his other hand. “We’re very much from the same coin, you saw some fucked up shit in war and I saw some fucked up shit growing up. We were forced to make a decision and kill.” He nodded to himself and clicked his tongue. “It’s not gonna be long before you finally snap yourself, Pine. You’ll be driven mad with the thought of her leaving you and will come up with more creative ways to control her. That’s what I had to do, little fox was always trying to run away from her alpha. Cunning thing she is, so sweet and innocent… So fun to break and toy with.” He flicked his dark eyes up, noticing Andrew scurrying back in with a panicked look. Travis frowned and dropped Jonathan, placing his foot down on his head and pushing his weight on him. “What the fuck is it? Where’s Katie?”
Andrew let out a sob and began to wail incoherently, pointing back and blubbering something about a shooter. “Dylan, Zac, ‘n Jim are allgoneandIhadtogetoutbeforehegotmetoothepolicearecomingand-” a firm slap was branded across his face as Travis had grown tired of his whines.
“Will you just shut up! Fuck, you’re such a pussy!! Fine. I guess you get a pass, Pine. I can only hope that my Katie is still breathing.” There again was the sick smirk as sirens blared in the background. “I can’t wait for the next time we meet.” Travis waved and grabbed Andrew by the arm, pulling him out of the fray.
Pine coughed hard, vision blurred from blood and sweat. “Kate… Please…” His voice was stuffy from his broken, bloodied nose. Jonathan closed his tired eyes, shedding tears that stung the cuts on his face. “Kate.” He kept mumbling her name over and over, praying she was safe. A slew of footsteps entered into the lobby but only a foreign language was spoken. Gloved hands began to assess the damage done to Jonathan, muffled Japanese clogging his hearing.
“Does anyone speak English?” An all too familiar voice caught Jonathan’s attention in the worst way.
Jonathan turned his head slowly, opening his eyes and taking in a rattly breath from what he was able to make out. “No. Kate.” He cried, seeing Roper walk past him with Katie’s motionless and bleeding body in his arms. “Please, Roper. Please.” He croaked, looking up at his enemy while being treated.
“Oh dear.” Richard grimaced at Pine. “You look exactly the way I found you back in Spain 2 years ago. Tsk, nasty habit you have.” He handed Katie over to paramedics and nodded at them.  “Too bad I won’t be requiring your services anytime soon as my trust in you is completely gone. Although, I do have some news…” He knelt down, giving Jonathan a pat against his wounded cheek and received a whine from the wounded man. “Oh come off it. You know better than to whine like a little girl, Pine. Fortunately, we have a common enemy.” He paused, looking at Jonathan to see if he was still listening.
“Kate-” Jonathan coughed, whining again from the pain in his chest.
Richard frowned at his persistence of the girl. “She’ll be fine, only ten stab wounds and nothing fatal. She did take a bit of a swim though and I had to play Baywatch for just a tick until she drew breath again.” He got up, following the paramedics and watching Pine get loaded onto a stretcher. “Seeing as you don’t want to pay any attention to vital news I have, I will be contacting you later. Oh and by the way, your hospital fees are covered by yours truly. Consider this one last favor from me to you, toodles.”
-----------------------------
“Did you get him?” Abbadon asked, folding her arms over her chest as Roper walked into the teahouse, taking a seat across from her.
“Mmm, no. He was busy having a tussle with Pine so I couldn’t get to him.” Richard pulled his cigarette carton out, pulling a stick from it and offering one to Abbadon.
She waved her hand and shook her head no, “I quit eleven years ago when I found I was pregnant with my son. I promised myself I wouldn’t return to that nasty habit.” Abbadon admitted genuinely. Never in her life did she ever think she’d be working with Richard Roper of all people. Sure, they were cut out from the same cloth in terms of business, as much as she hated to be in it, but she was unaware that he also wanted to bring Daniel down.
Shrugging, Roper lit his cigarette and took a drag from it. “So,” He turned his head away, blowing smoke in the opposite direction, “What’s with you and wanting Travis dead? I thought you’d want that slimy little bastard taken care of first… Or whatever the hell the bitch over in Korea is named. I heard you two have gotten into cat fights.” He mused to himself and eyed Abbadon, teasing her slightly.
The auburn haired woman snorted in amusement, “I wouldn’t exactly call them “cat fights” so much as an actual fist fight. I am no angst ridden school girl despite how troubled I am.” She looked up at their waiter and nodded in thanks as the tea was delivered. Carefully, Abbadon took the kettle and poured her scalding hot tea into her cup and set it down. She tested the intensity of the heat with her upper lip before taking a sip. “Ah, excellent.” She spoke to herself, setting down the cup. “Why I want him dead is because he is obsessed with Katelyn. He reminds me much of Ulrich, my bastard of a husband. The things I was told of what he had done to her is too reminiscent of my own situation. Thankfully, Ulrich is not obsessed with me and would rather not have anything to do with me.” She paused for a moment before returning to her original plan of action. “She and Pine are the only hope I have of getting my son back.” She looked at Roper with a rather wistful expression. “Certainly you can understand me, no? You have a child of your own?” She raised her eyebrows, grabbing her tea cup and taking another sip.
Taking another puff of his cigarette, Roper nodded and sighed. Smoke jetted from his nostrils as he did so, “Yes, I do. I also have a son whom I care about despite what his bitch of a mother thinks.” He spoke of his ex wife bitterly. “Anyways, what you’re getting at is that you commiserate with Pine’s girl? Cute little lass she is.”
“Yes.”
“Mhm. Abuse… I have no right to make any commentary on that seeing as I am also one who isn’t the most kind lover.” He cleared his throat, wanting to avoid that subject. “Now, the money if you please.” He held his hand out and took the payment Abbadon handed over. “Never thought I’d get to use my hitman skills ever again. I must say, I had fun with it though I nearly shot Miss O’Connor.” He stopped counting the bills as he noticed Abbadon look at him with rage. “I wasn’t intending to aim for her, I left her be just as you wanted. Poor thing almost inhaled a koi fish.” He placed his cigarette between his lips and resumed counting. “If it weren’t for me she would literally be swimming with the fishes.”
Abbadon huffed, taking another sip of her tea and leering at the man sitting across from her. “I would appreciate it if you didn’t joke about her like that. I want her to live the life that I could never have, please be more considerate.” She finished her tea and stood, turning to leave. “I wish that our paths wouldn’t cross again, but unfortunately we share a common enemy. Until next we meet, Richard.”
-----------------------
Sleep would not come to Jonathan that night as he tossed and turned uncomfortably with IVs and a ventilator to help oxygen get into one of his collapsed lungs. “No. No- Katie don’t go.” His voice was hoarse but laced with pain and devastation. Jonathan’s eyes were shut but he was trapped in a nightmare of losing Katie to Travis. “Stop, no don’t hurt her.” He continued to cry, causing the machine monitoring his vitals to beep as his heart rate increased.
“Mr. Redwood? Are you alright?” A nurse walked in, eyes full of worry as she saw the pained man. Stephanie Nakamura was placed in charge of Jonathan as she was the only one there at the moment, who spoke English fluently. She was of American and Japanese descent but decided to live in Japan to find her roots. “Mr. Redwood?” She called again and began to take measures in case things decided to go wrong.
Jonathan and Katie had been given new aliases courtesy of Richard Roper. He still wanted them to play the game and carried on with the whole “tree” last name scheme. Jonathan went by “Todd Redwood” and Katie by “Kit Redwood”. Apparently Richard thought it would be funny to also throw in an animal into their names; the fox.
Gasping, Pine shuddered hard and coughed in pain. His eyes shot open and he looked around in worry, “Where? Where is she?” He asked in a rough voice and looked at Stephanie with panic. “Where’s Katie?” He was not yet aware of the aliases at hand.
“Katie? I thought your wife’s name was Kit… Hmm maybe Kit is a variant of Katie?” Stephanie thought to herself before catching Pine trying to get up from the corner of her eye. “NO!! Mr. Redwood you mustn’t get up!!” She forced him back down and pressed her call button for help as he just would not stop struggling. “You shouldn’t speak either, your lung is not healed at all!” She looked over her shoulder and saw some nurses enter the room. Speaking in her native tongue, she asked for assistance with Jonathan and had him sedated for the night. “Poor man. He really is worried about his wife…”
-------------------
For the next two weeks, Jonathan struggled to go see Katie. He learned that while no vital organs were hit, she still had lost a lot of blood. Also, due to her inhaling a ton of water she was being monitored for any further damage. The only times that she would wake up were to scream out for help, her eyes were shut the entire time. Those screams broke Jonathan’s heart as he knew she was reliving the nightmare she went through with Travis, and now this. What made things worse was that she cried out for Cameron to save her and to not leave her. Once Pine was well enough, Stephanie allowed him to sit by Katie’s bedside. Not once did he leave her side and let go of her hand. Here he was now, sitting beside her and holding her hand. “Katie please wake up.” His thumb rubbed her hand, tears stinging his eyes. “Please.” He bowed his head, resting it on the bed. “I can’t lose you.”
At those words, Katie’s fingers twitched and caused Jonathan to look up. “Jon...nathan.. Jon..” his name came out softly from her lips. She repeated his name brokenly and in a hushed tone, tears of her own sliding down her cheeks. “Thank… You… watching her..”
Pine’s brow knit together and he scooted closer to her, wondering if she was losing her mind. “What? What do you mean?”
“You… Protect her.... Cherish..” A soft smile formed on her lips despite her eyes being closed. “Little fox.”
There was no way. Jonathan couldn’t believe what he was hearing and immediate doubt settled in. He didn’t believe much in the paranormal but what she was saying sounded like Cameron was communicating through her. With some hesitation, Pine swallowed hard and pondered if he should even give the silly idea a chance. “C...C-Cam?” He whispered.
Katie nodded very faintly, the smile still on her face. “Take care… her heart...  Thank you, my brother.” The brunette suddenly fell limp, the smile fading from her face and monitor flatlining.
“KATIE NO!! SOMEONE HELP!! NO!! NO!!” Jonathan screamed, standing upright and beginning to sob. “NO DON’T YOU LEAVE ME!! SOMEONE!! HELP-” He stopped as he heard Katie gasp loudly and the machine coming back with her vitals.
Wide green eyes stared into blue ones and before Katie knew it, she felt Pine’s arms wrap around her and his wet face buried into the crook of her neck.
@nickelesque happy holidays owo
I hope you enjoy it ^-^
Four knew his hair was getting long, of course it wasn’t Wild’s length long, but it was getting there. It rested below his shoulders. His mind was divided by how he wanted to handle the hair situation. The Green and Red part of him wanted their hair to continue to grow. They promised the likes of keeping it maintained with tight ponytails and braids. This of course didn’t go well with the two responsible sections of his mind, Blue and Violet. They both knew that the responsibility would fall upon them. Many arguments went on in his mind there was no sign of compromise in sight. Of course, having the majority of the control Blue and Violet deemed that Four was to get a haircut. Who would cut Four’s hair? Well, Wild had apparently cut his Zelda’s hair which made him the logical choice.
That is what lead Four to be sitting on a wooden stump, Wild behind him with a knife in hand. The camp was buzzing quietly as a few of the groups members played a game with Wind. “Are you really sure you want me to do this?” asked Wild. He seemed nervous. Which wasn’t exactly what Four had expected from him. “You’ve done this before…” started Four turning to eye Wild for a moment. “You’ll be fine.” he finished before turning to face the camp again. “Y-yeah.” mumbled Wild as he grabbed a chunk of Four’s hair. He really wasn’t. “What you did to Flora’s hair was really beautiful, granted I just want my hair cut a bit.” mused Four as he played with his hands. Too agitated to read the book that was placed in his lap.
Four was a bit angsty with the idea of Wild with a knife and his hair involved. However, Four trusted Wild. After all he had experience in this. Wild brought the knife under the large chunk of blonde hair and began too saw up towards himself. Blades of hair began to remain in his hands. Wild knew he had messed up big time. The hair was definitely getting too short but there was no turning back from this point. He sawed through the last strands of hair. Wild could see the future it and it wasn’t pretty. Four rarely got angry but when he did, he sure as hell did!
Wild looked at the clump of hair that now rested in his left hand.  The knife in his right hand. He’s really messed up. There’s almost no way he’s gonna get out of this. It seemed Hylia was looking down on him for once, a loud call from the other side of camp.
“Wild, we need you to get started on dinner!” Time’s gruff call ran through Wild’s ears. He was safe! Wild rubbed Four’s shoulders in a quick manner after he placed the knife and the locks of hair down. “I’ll be back in awhile. I have to hunt tonight.” Four let out a quiet hum in response. He was engrossed in his book by this point. Wild took this opportunity to “escape” this was definitely something he wouldn’t be able to fix.
Four sat in silence for a long while before realising that Wild had been gone for awhile. Naturally he reached to play with his hair on the right side. His hand caught none of the golden locks. His heart started to race as he grabbed for the hair again but not grabbing any of the locks he was aiming for. Four’s heart truly dropping when he touched the back of his head feeling stubby locks. The colour from his face drained. “Legend!” called Four knowing he was the only one with a mirror that would share it without much question, or in Warriors case, teasing.
Legend looked to Four a cool look on his face. Four could see that Wind had also turned around out of curiosity. Like everything with that boy his expression gave it all away. This was bad. Legend seemed to finally take his nose out of his bag and looked over to Four. No expression on his face but yet he knew everything. In a gruff and easy manner he grabbed his mirror shield and bag and walked over to Four.
“You made a foolish choice trusting Wild to cut your hair, and with a knife!” scolded Legend as he dropped his bag in front of Four. Four sighed, he should’ve expected this. Legend huffed as he leaned his shield against Four. He opened his bag, going through it taking out various items before he grabs a mirror. “Take this,” Legend handed the mirror too Four as he grabbed the mirror shield and stood behind Four. The two spent a few moments angling the mirrors until Four could see what Wild had done. There was a more or less shaven sort of patch on the back of his head. “H-he said he cut Flora’s hair!” exclaimed Four putting the mirror down. “You pressured him into sort of admitting it.” replied Legend putting down his shield and taking the mirror from Four’s hand. “No I didn’t?” replied Four but it sounded more like a question.
Legend laughed softly. “But you did,” he pitches his voice to mimic Four. “Flora your hair is so nice! Did Wild do it? I didn’t expect him to be able to do i-” There is a crack in Legend’s voice which causes Four to laugh getting over his previous teasing quickly. “That’s mean of you to laugh and to think I was going to fix your hair.” Legend rolls his eyes and begins to pack up what things he had out. “You’re gonna have to walk around camp like that until Wild runs out of excuses.” smirked Legend.
Four’s eyes widen as he slammed the book close on his lap. “No, you can’t!” argued Four  reaching out to grab Legend. The elder of the two smiled. “I’m just kidding, relax. You know there’s no going back from Wild’s screw up, right?” asked Legend as he grabbed a pair of scissors. He moved to stand behind Four. “Yeah…” huffed Four. “Cool,” Four could practically hear the smile in Legend’s voice. “Bowl cut it is, kiddo.”
“Kiddo?!” exclaimed Four turning around narrowly missing the scissors getting his eyes. Legend hummed as he put his hands on Four’s shoulders and turn him back around.
Four slowly relaxed as Legend ran his fingers through long locks of hair. “Do you have a hair tie?” asked Legend his voice was soft and calm. The teasing tone forgotten. “Yeah,” replied Four taking the hair tie, that he has barely used on this adventure, off his wrist and reached out behind him to Legend who took it.
Tying up a section of Four’s hair took a few moments. Legend didn’t particularly have any experience in tying up people’s hair but what he’s done will do. The little bun sat nicely on top of Four’s head as Legend began to thin out the hair. There’s silence between the two of them as Legend does his work. “Did you even know Wild was using the knife?”asked Legend as he worked away, adjusting the bun every now and again. “Yes?” responded Four, opening is book up again. “Why did you let him do it with the damn knife?” sighed Legend, a good section of Four’s hair rested on the ground at this point. “I thought of Flora’s hair.” replied Four, it was softer, as he seemed to get more invested in his book.
This left Legend more or less at work. He hummed a soft song under his breath as he snipped at the blonde hair. The soft tune began to become a soft whisper of words to the tune. It was soft, gentle and melodic. The soft tune was something Legend hummed on repeat while he worked. Four himself began to pick up the little tune. The two seemed connected in a way as they hummed together.
The two didn’t tend to interact but the soft exchange of conversation joined with humming of little tunes they knew and the other eventually picked up. “It’s been awhile since I’ve had well, super short hair.” commented Four. Legend stopped his humming. “I can’t really imagine you with short hair but here we go.” Legend chuckled softly. Four laughed softly in return. This isn’t what he was expecting to do today but yet again here he was.
“I’ve got most of the back of your head fixed up, but there is only so much I can do with kitchen scissors. Nice undercut if I say so for a first time.” commented Legend on his handy work. Four made the movement to run his fingers through his hair but there was none at his usual length. The short hair that he does touch is soft.
“I’m not quite done yet,” started Legend. “Oi, Wind chuck us a bowl!” Legend raised his voice startling a good majority of the dozy camp. The young boy being one of them. He chucks a bowl in Legend’s direction which Four only narrowly avoids being hit by. “Why do you need a bowl?” asked Four turning to Legend. “I did say I say I was giving you a bowl cut.” responded Legend taking the last of Four’s long hair out of the bun. Placing the bowl and scissors down for a moment. Legend spends a few moments untangling Four’s hair and fixing the parting.
It was a few peaceful moments as Legend stood in front of Four now. The scissors and bowl in his lap as Legend works away. When everything felt right, Legend brought the last few strands that needed to rest on Four’s face into position before he slapped the bowl on. This jolting the boy a bit. Along with Legend taking his book to prevent getting hair on it.
With that the main event started. Legend began to hum again as he snipped at the base the bowl had created for them. The humming remained and soon the bowl was off Four’s head and tossed aside. The shaggy bowl cut was getting its touch ups now that the bowl was gone. Four found it weird to have hair on his forehead again.
Legend put the final touches on the fringe, they had been called to get their share of dinner a few moments ago. And as much as Four was enjoying Legend’s company and was thankful to him, he wanted to eat. Legend took a step back after he deemed it finished admiring his work. “I think it’s pretty good.” he commented as he picked up the mirror shield to show Four. “What do you think?” Four looked into the mirror, a little speechless. “It’s, It’s something different? It does the trick.” Four answered Legend, looking up to him.  Legend huffed. “Such an ungrateful kiddo,” Four pouted looking up to him. “I’m just teasing, relax, you look all good if that’s what you’re really worried about.” Legend placed down the shield and ruffled Four’s hair “Next time you need a hair don't go to Wild, mkay?”
“Of course.” laughed Four inresponse, as he ran his fingers through his hair. Though he may not spend the most time with Legend. Four could definitely see himself spending more time with him.
Chapter 1; Marketplace mischief and a chance encounter
___________________________________________________________
People never understand just how hard it is for us to make an honest living.  You’re always having to resort to stealing in order to get a meal, guards everywhere are always looking for an excuse to arrest someone and it doesn’t matter the gender either.  Life here in India is a struggle.
And it seemed to get more complicated especially since the kingdom that has allied itself with us, the three English Kingdoms of London, Leicester and Norfolk have come to marry off the three Princes to some of India’s well known Princesses, but every time the Princesses are denied and rejected.
Oh guess I’m getting a little too ahead of myself; the name is (y/n).  I’ve lived here in this village district of Agrabah just outside of the main capital of Calcutta.  I’ve lived on my own ever since I was about 8 years old when both my parents died of natural causes.  Both within a year of each other first my mother and then my father.
Ever since then I had to live on my wits and become street wise.  To this village I’m known either as a street mouse or cunning monkey because I can easily pick-pocket you before you can even blink.  But sometimes it does take a team effort, that’s where my trusty sidekick Abu comes into play.
He’s real charming when he needs to be which is makes him real popular with the ladies giving me the chance to swipe a necklace or bracelet in order to sell it.
Currently Abu and I were looking at some brass pots, pans, bowls, cups anything you can think of when a girl around my age came up and she asked me.
“Aww your monkey is so adorable, what’s his name?” I turned to her and answered.
“Abu.”
“And where did you find him?”
“Well…..” Abu hopped onto her shoulder and walked across it acting his playful and adorable self, keeping the girl distracted as an elder woman probably her mother came up and I reached out and grabbed the cup the woman just purchased and I said. “Ohh sorry ma’am accidentally dropped this, thank you for catching it.”
The mother grabbed her daughter as Abu leapt back onto my shoulder and I bid the two of them a good day.  However it was short lived when I noticed the mom talk to a guard and the two of them turned towards me.
“Uh-oh.” Abu then took off towards the building making his escape while I made my own.  I passed and ducked through people and hopped over carriages carrying people’s marketed goods.  I even had some people yelling at me as I would bump into them telling me to watch where I was going.
I soon met up with Abu as he hopped back onto my shoulder and the two of us jumped over a wall onto a different pathway. I adjusted my shirt and I said as I looked around for any guards.
“How’d we do Abu?” he then revealed the girl’s golden necklace.  I pocketed it away and scratched behind his head.  “Good monkey.”
We then took our findings over to Madam Azula, the local dealer for our food for the week.  Her shop was crowded with people looking for an honest trade of what they had to offer.  But as soon as she saw me, she said not even looking at me.
“Whatever it is you have stolen for me (y/n), I am not interested in!”
“Whoa, whoa what? Steal me? Never. C’mon Azula you owe me what can I get with this? It was my grandmother’s necklace.”
“I give you a bag of dates. Nothing more.”
“No Azula we both know this is at least worth three—”
“Take your bag of dates and get out of my face. Next!” People shouted at me to move and get out.  I sighed heavily and grabbed the bag she had tossed at me and walked out in a huff.
One measly bag of dates, this’ll hardly last us a day.  I reached into the small bag and pulled out a date for Abu.
“Well hard living ehh Abu?” he took the date and immediately began eating it.  I leaned up against the wall but before I could take a date out for myself, I looked down to see a mother and her two young children sitting there.
The young boy looked up at me and I immediately knew how he felt.  I turned to Abu and he just placed his meal underneath his tony fez.  I looked down at the bag and knew this wouldn’t help me but—it could help someone else.
I knelt down and handed the boy my bag and he smiled at me and took it from my hand.  I winked at him and playfully shushed at him to be quiet and then walked away.
Just because most of these people would rather live and fend for themselves, doesn’t mean that I’m willing to turn a blind eye to someone even worse off than me.  I would rather let a child eat and survive another day than to let them die when they barely got to live their lives.  I didn’t want them to go through what I went through.
*3rd Person POV*
Along the same stretch where (y/n) had disappeared off two.  Two young men in royal robes covering their faces walked through the condensed marketplace.
Tumblr media
They definitely weren’t some of the locals because one thing they were both white skinned and if you could see through the hood, they both had long brown and blonde hair while many of the Indian people had black hair that went past their shoulders.
They walked through the markets as merchants proclaimed out their deals.
“Buy a pot! No finer pots in brass or silver!”
“Sugar dates, sugar dates and figs. Sugar dates and pistachios!”
“Excuse me sir, would you like to buy a necklace for your lovely lady friend?” the brown haired boy turned and turned to his blonde friend and the two of them shook their heads no.
“God why must everyone confuse me with a woman!?” the blonde hissed.
“To be honest Roger with your features and long blonde hair you’d make a convincing woman. Remember that time in Paris?”
“I thought I told you never to bring that up John!” the man known as Roger threatened.  “Besides you’re one to talk spaniel. Remember that Spanish princess who kept comparing you to her cocker spaniel?”
“Touché Roger.” It was then John saw a young girl around 4-5, she was covered with dust and dirt and she looked so malnourished for someone her age.  But what broke John’s heart was that no one had come to help this poor girl.
“Poor little lamb. It sickens me that some people can just ignore a hungry child like this. It’s just like back home.” Roger said. John soon took the plunge and he walked up towards her.
When she noticed a shadow standing over her, she turned around and shielded away.  John knelt down so that he wouldn’t be as intimidating to her and he removed his hood and he gave her a soft smile.
“Hello love, what’s your name?”
“Xara.”
“Xara, that’s a beautiful name. Are you hungry Xara?” She nodded shyly and John smiled warmly down at her.  He then took one of the bread rolls and gave it to her. “Here you go.” She smiled and suddenly hugged him.
John was startled at first but he accepted it and gently hugged her back before she took off running.  As John stood up, Roger came up to him and he said.
“I swear Deacy out of the three of us, you need to become a father first. You’re a natural born father.”
“Yeah, but I would rather have a child born out of love, not because of a civic duty to produce an heir.”
“C’mon I saw some fine jewelry over there.” But just before they left, the merchant running the bread cart spoke up to them seeing John merely give the bread away without paying.
“You’d better be able to pay for that.” The two men turned back towards the Indian man.  He went up to John and gripped his arm tightly and snarled, “Nobody steals from my cart!”
“I’m sorry sir, I—I don’t have any money.” John said trying to calm the man down.
“THIEF!!” the man exclaimed as he dragged John towards his cart.
“Wait hold on pal listen, if you just let us go to the palace we can get some from the kings of England!” Roger called out trying to set John free from the man’s grip.
“Keep out of this woman!” the cart owner hissed as he shoved Roger aside and two assistant workers held Roger back.  “Do you know what the penalty is for stealing!?” the merchant said to John as he slammed his arm down and raised his sword up.
“No! No please!” John pleaded.  Roger tried to get free but the two men had an iron grip on him.  Just before John thought he was about to have his arm cut off, a hand stopped the merchant in his place.
*My POV*
I had heard of a commotion going on near Jamal’s cart.  There I saw a boy around my age standing before Jamal, his arm being held down forcefully and Jamal was about to cut his arm off.
This crazy old coot was always focused on the old ways of punishment, steal his bread, lost a limb.  I quickly raced over and stopped Jamal just before he could lower his sword any further.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa Jamal calm down. He didn’t know any better I’ve been trying to teach these guys the way things are done around here.”
“You know this boy (y/n)?” I turned towards the boy as he managed to get his arm free from Jamal’s grip.
“Sadly yes. He’s my fiancé, and that is his cousin over there. They’re kinda—you know.” I twirled my finger around my head doing the crazy signal.  I heard a scoff behind me.  As Jamal freed himself from my grip and put his sword back to his hip he sneered out.
“That one claimed to know the English kings!”
“English kings? Ha! They think the monkey is the Sultan.” I laughed out gesturing towards Abu.  Abu looked at me confused and that’s when the blonde one suddenly claimed out.
“Ohhh wise Sultan!” He fell to his knees in a bow and it was then the brunette fell to his knees following his friend’s plan and he said as he too bowed before Abu.
“How may we serve thee!” Abu then chattered away almost regally as he hopped onto the brunette’s shoulder and patted on his head.
“Tragic I know Jamal, but that’s love for you.” I walked away from him and helped the blonde up first.  “Up you go cousin in law, and you my love. Time for you both to go see the Doctor again.” I had both my arms wrapped around each of their shoulders.
“What are you doing?” asked the brunette.
“Just trust me okay?” Abu then snuck something into my hand and I quickly turned towards Jamal holding a silver ring with an onyx black jewel at the center and I said. “Here for the bread payment.”
“What? No wait that’s my—”
“And an apple for your troubles Jamal, good day!”
“No! No! No I’m not leaving….”
“Come along you two.”
“No!” I dragged them both and that’s when the brunette hissed at me. “I won’t leave without my ring!”
“You mean this ring?” I said as I showed him his ring back that was now along my tall finger.
“Whoa how did you—” the blonde asked me.  But we were soon caught as Jamal cried out my name and the chatter of guards coming after us.
Play video
“Are we in trouble?” asked the brunette.
“Only if you get caught.” I said cockily. “Both of you go down that ally. Monkey knows the way.” Abu looked at me annoyed.  “Abu!” I scowled him.  He hopped onto the blonde’s shoulder and he pointed to his butt as he raspberried gesturing to them.  “You both will be fine.” They then took off and I walked on ahead grinning.
I spun around and raised my hand in the air showing off the man’s ring that I had swiped back as I exclaimed before taking off running.
“Looking for this Jamal?”
“(Y/n) you street mouse!” I heard Jamal cry out as some guards came after me.
As two guards came at me from either side of me, I slide underneath the legs of one of them and headed down towards an alley leaving the two guards to try and get back up after colliding with each other. I raced down the alley till I came to Alecia’s cart, I used her cart as extra leverage to get up onto the poles that were up a few feet.
I grinned down at the guards as they called out my name and swung from pole to pole before reaching the end.  Then using my head and my feet, I supported my body and slowly spun down till I touched down on the ground and took off running to meet up with the two boys.
All the while having a little fun with the guards, ducking under pillars, sliding down poles and jumping carts like a skillful cat while they kept crashing into things like an elephant in a china shop.
*Me*
Gotta keep one jump ahead of the breadline One swing ahead of the sword I steal only what I can't afford And that's everything
One jump ahead of the lawmen That's all, and that's no joke These guys don't appreciate I'm broke
*Guards*
Riff raff! Street rat! Scoundrel!
*Me* Take that!
I met up with the guys and pointed for them to go that way.  It was then I noticed the blonde’s dagger which I quickly swiped as I gripped onto a rope nearby.  I cut the rope which allowed the sacks of sand to plummet down while my end of the rope went up towards the building beside us.
I taunted the guys as I put the dagger away in my pouch as I leaned up against the red door of the building.  Suddenly it opened up and I rolled inside.  Turned out this was my old school that I was forced to attend for women.  I had quite a rep but that’s a different story for another time.
But let’s just say the other girls look up to me like a hero, doing things that no other Indian woman has had the courage to do, however our teacher Mrs. Dalia didn’t agree, and took every opportunity to ‘whip’ me into shape with that ruler of hers. *Me*
Try a different tac', guys
*Guards*
Rip her open 'Round the back guys
*Me* I can take a hint, gotta face the facts Could really use a friend or two
*School girls*
Oh, it's sad, (y/n)'s hit the bottom She's become a one-woman rise in crime *Teacher*
I'd blame parents, 'cept she hasn't got 'em *Me*
Gotta eat to live, gotta steal to eat Tell you all about it when I got the time
I dodged Mrs. Dalia’s attempts to whip my butt (and I mean that literally) as well as the guards that soon barged in. I ducked out of the window and hopped onto one of the blanket roofs allowing the guard that came after me to fall down towards the ground.  While I had bounced back into the room and stood back to back with the Captain.
The two of us spun around each other till I grabbed his dagger and held it out as I crouched along the window.
He turned towards me but I held his own weapon against him and lunged it forward which he dodged but I leaned back and began hopping from blanket to blanket roof till I landed on top of a cart before landing right to the ground.
“You know you could’ve used the stairs right?” asked the brunette as he and his friend helped me up.
“Where’s the fun in that?” We casually walked along till we reached the street and I held my arm out till a cart came right by us and I gripped the brunette’s hand and like a whip, he and his friend followed me lead as the three of us hitched a ride down along the road.
*Me*
One jump ahead of the slowpokes One skip ahead of my doom Next time gonna use a nom de plume One jump ahead of the hitmen One hit ahead of the flock I think I'll take a stroll around the block
        We got off the cart and headed down another alleyway with the guards chasing after us.  We ducked past people before finally reaching a stairway that would lead us up to a roof. I first allowed the boys to go up first then I followed and thanks to old man Qassim for blocking our path, we were allowed some extra time.
*Guards*
Stop, thief! *Amara*
Vandal! *Me*
Abu! Scandal!
*Me*
Let's not be too hasty *Qassim*
Still I think she's rather tasty *Me*
Gotta eat to live, gotta steal to eat Otherwise we'd get along
*Guards*
Wrong!
As the guards began to withdraw their swords, I pushed the platform with my foot and they went falling backwards right into the flower shop.  I saluted them and I went over to the boys as I stood along a platform plank.
“Together on three.” I told them.
“Together on three.” Repeated the blonde.
“We jump.” I continued.
“We jump!?” answered the brunette in shock.
“Why are you both repeating everything I say? The pole both of you use it.” They stepped back as did I and I began to count us down.  And as I said, on three, the three of us raced towards the edge and I took the leap of faith towards the other building just below us.
I rolled along the blankets and bags and I saw the blonde land shortly beside me.
“Wait where’s your friend?” we both looked and saw that he was still standing on the roof of the previous building.
“Mate what the hell!?”
“Sorry!” he apologized.  Okay, okay now we’re gonna have to improvise since the polls long gone now.
“Here, follow my steps.” I helped him up along the roof and he climbed up as best he could while I stayed on the ground and looked towards the brunette. “Hey, look at me okay!” He turned and looked right at me. “You can do this. If he can, you can too.”
He nodded and backed up and he suddenly took off running because the guards suddenly appeared up onto the roof and just like me, he took a quick leap of faith like a black buck leaping over a creek. He rolled over along the ground and I helped him onto his feet.
“Nice leap.” I commented.
“Thanks.” He exhaled.
“C’mon onto the roof.”  His friend helped us up onto the roof and I quickly thought of another plan as a sure fire way to get them to not follow us.  I grabbed a rolled up carpet and pointed in the direction of some crates, pots and old boxes for them to hide in.
I grabbed a rope and quickly ran over the side of the building and dropped the carpet down into the shop below while I swung into the open window of the building I had just jumped off of.
*Me*
One jump ahead of the hoofbeats One hop ahead of the hump One trick ahead of disaster They're quick, but I'm much faster Here goes Better throw my hand in,
Wish me happy landin All I gotta do is jump!
*3rd Person POV*
The guards as well as some of the villagers all gathered around to see the cloud of dust erupt from the building where they thought (y/n) had fallen into.  The guards from the roof looked at each other and just walked away.
From below the people began to disburse and back on the roof John and Roger peeked out as soon as they saw the two guards leave. They looked towards the edge to see the girl’s monkey go up along the edge looking worriedly.
“Oh my god I think she’s dead.” Roger whispered. Suddenly a hand was thrown over the side of the building.  They both gasped before calming down and soon pulling herself up was (y/n) alive and unharmed.  Abu jumped in joy chattering away and that’s when (y/n) said.
“C’mon. I know a place where we can hide till all goes quiet.”
Prompt 20: Bisect
Rare was the day that Eigengrau could visit his son alongside his husbands. Ever since he had turned four summers old, these days were becoming widespread and distant. The space between such points becoming wider and wider, and almost too much to bear.
Tumblr media
For Eigengrau, it was far too bitter a reminder of the periods he would wait at the shore as a child, for the glimpse of that wooden merchant ship that would peek so teasingly over the horizon. Except this time, he felt as though he was sailing upon that ship. Waiting desperately to see hints of those ancient roofs, sitting upon the steep sides of a well hidden valley. Waterfalls pouring down from all around them, with bridges built from the trees of the surrounding forests gently connecting one terrace to another.
A blanket of mist would shield his eyes from making out the tiny details. It did well to hide these roofs, these buildings, these homes. From a wide distance, they weren’t homes, they were glittering gems of god’s cloak. Peeking out and winking at you, daring you to come closer.
The people here were protected well, and so was his son.
He knew he needed not worry, but that was not bothering him. He did not fear the danger of a drowning boy here, or the terror of thunder and lightning. He did not fear a cruel patriarch, or an absent matriarch. There was an altogether different fear. After all, Erden and Eigengrau shared one particularly important trait in common.
He passed by men who had the same glittering golden scales on his way to the estate of the Hatasashi Clan. Each male here carried with them a learned, scholastic air. Not petty or stigmatizing, but still regal. Poised. A gathering of fish who had the strength of Koi who have learned to swim upstream. Their rainbow of red and blond and browns coloring the Limestone pavements that made up the preserved courtyards. Growing beneath his feet, in between jolted cracks, were hints of lush greenery that made this old establishment somehow a thing of fresh beauty. Eigengrau knew, he knew well, that his son could consider himself among the privileged few. Even at the ripe age of four, many children would adore to learn here.
It’s hard to not feel like this place was an adventure.
<“....Ma’aav!!”>
Eigen could remember the first time he came here, as he turns his head at the youthful sound. Gently taking a few steps ahead at his husband’s encouragement. He could remember how enchanted he was by the home of his smaller husband. How fantastical it all was. So dream like, so beautiful, so perfect. He had never seen an inch of Doma, until his husband brought him here while on their vacation. He had never felt so secure in such a large expanse.
<“Ma’aav here!!”>
‘Oh Erden…’ He was still combining his Xaelic with his Doman and Hingan. His youthful words melding together like a kaleidoscope of innocence. To unite such things that were so much a foundational part of his young life, it did not seem odd. Not at all.
<”Ma’aav’s here...yes…”> Eigen could not help but shed a tear as he watches the tiny boy scamper up to meet him, dressed up in tiny shorts and a dress shirt of blue, stylized in the far eastern sense. Saiun would later tell him that it was the uniforms that boys where while they learned. And that Erden would graduate to the robes of a scholar as he got older, if it is found that he met the expectations of the elders. Such a concept was beyond the man, but his husbands assured him that Erden would have no difficulty exceeding expectations.
The boy looked no different from how Eigen had left him. His skin was still the color of midnight, and his scales still the color of obsidian. His hair was still a dusty black, and his sclera as dark as the water’s depths. His umbral ring and pupils were still a bright crimson red. He still looked like he did. And perhaps, perhaps that was what worried Eigen.
He did not want the boy to worry about fitting in.
Small arms would attempt to collect his legs, and hold them hostage there. A small giggle escaping the dangerous beastie below. Eigen had to laugh as well, such a giggle, it was contagious. The boy already had such strong arms! When did he get so strong?!
<”How is Erden liking his new castle?”> he would beam at the youngling. Who would beam back! Showing off draconic teeth. If his tail was long enough, Eigengrau would have noticed it swaying.
<”Castle!”> He pointed up as though to affirm that he did indeed live beneath a large castle like estate, and the action caused Eigen to giggle once more. Erden was using Doman that time; he would smile and reach forward gently to give the child a light pat.
<”I brought you something...Close your eyes okay?”> He would mime covering up his eyes with his hands, before peeking out from between fingers so he could make sure that Erden was doing the same. He was such a smart boy.
...Carefully, with great subtly, the older Xaela would reach inside his sewing bag. Digging around a little before his fingers would touch something rough. Digits curling around. Drawing it out so that he could hold the object before him. And then offer it up to the back of the tiniest little hands. Letting them feel the rough and ugly texture as well. This was important, Eigen felt that the boy should first understand the feeling of roughness. How repulsive some people could find it. <”Alright, you can look now!”>
Erden had the most disgusted look twisted upon his face, that Eigen had to chuckle at how disproportionate it was to his adorable features. He would smile at him. <”Feels rough, doesn’t it?”> He would reach for the knife and would pull the rock back so he could do this safely. <”It looks rough too.”>
<”Ugly!”>
Eigen chuckles with some hint of sadness at the exclamation. He gives a nod, the child was right though. The exterior of this rock was so dull. He would keep on smiling though, lifting the knife carefully at an inch---before giving a sharp but precise tap.
A bisection of parts would occur, as the whole became two. And the eyes of the younger Xaela would grow as wide as saucers at what was revealed below.
Eigen smiled broader. <”You see Erden? Ugly exterior, beautiful interior? Always remember this.”> He hold out one half for Erden to take and to keep. To remember. While its sister half would be given to the child’s other parents. <”Always remember whenever you meet something ugly, or rough. But be careful okay? No forcing. Gentleness.”> He smiles, his gestures trying to show young Erden that he needed to be careful and patient with the rainbow inside the stone. It was not something he would understand now, but Eigengrau hoped he would one day.
In his heart, he believed that Erden would grow happy and free.
