So this is a new serie and I wanted to thanks @cathhamel for encouraging me to post it. I don't know how many chapter it will have, it will depends of how much you like it I think.

As long as you remember, you always have been in love with Alessia. She is a year older than you, but she catches your eyes almost as soon as you met her. She was sweet, full of talents and of course everyone seemed to like her. You liked her too, but it was more love than friendship.

It has been five years, and you never told her anything. Alessia is straight, always talking about her boyfriend at the time or the boy who catch her eyes. You can’t say that she’s a great friend, you never have been very close of her to be honest. You are way more friend with Maya, who you know since your first step together for the Lionesses. Alessia is closer with Ella or Mary, it’s not that you don’t get along. It’s more that you become very shy when it comes to talk to her.

Maya knows about your long-term feelings for Alessia. She sometimes teases you about it, but you seem so desperate about it that she doesn’t do it a lot. You tried to find others girls to help you forget Alessia, but you didn’t succeed. It was even more sad maybe, but that’s the life you choose to live. This gave you a little reputation maybe, but you decide under Leah’s advice not to give a fuck. You do what you have to do, and it will stay that way.

Finding a pretty blonde with blue eyes is even more difficult, because since 2022 you’re playing at Barcelona. Along Lucy and Keira, the Spanish team came for you. You were playing at this time in West Ham and at your age it was a dream coming true. You don’t hesitate to throw your life in England to go to Spain. You didn’t know the language at first, but you learned Spanish and Catalan very quickly. Way more quickly than Keira and even Lucy.

With this team you won a lot of things and with the Lionesses, you won the Euro Cup 2022. You had hope that maybe you can get closer to Alessia with the alcohol and the adrenaline of the victory, but you were wrong.

So now, you are here in Summer camp for the Mondial 2023, in Australia. Sarina had call you to be part of the team, so is Lucy, Keira and of course Alessia. Maya isn’t part of the journey, so is Leah because of her ACL. You were gutted to learn about her injury. Leah always have been like a mentor for you, unlike Lucy who always had the role of the big sister. But you miss Maya in Australia, to be honest.

And you missed her even most, when you learned just before the first game that your girlfriend at the time chose to busy herself during your absence with cheating on you. You weren’t In love with her, but you thought that you can trust her. You were wrong. It was not the breakup who was disturbing for you, but behind betrayed that way. It isn’t something nice, really. You broke up with her, obviously. She asked you for a second chance, which you refuse before blocking her everywhere.

“And she had the nerves to ask you for a second chance?!” Jordan almost shout when Lucy explains to her all the story.

You let her do it, tired of people asking you why you seem so angry and almost sad. You weren’t really sad, but you weren’t really happy too. It was a strange feeling to be honest. You don’t miss your ex-girlfriend, but you are most disappointed to see that another attempt to forget Alessia is failing.

“What a bitch” Mary sighs after Lucy’s nod.

She is at the same table as you this morning, like Lucy, Jordan and surprisingly Ella and Alessia. If Ella seems to be as shocked as the others are, Alessia doesn’t really says anything. But you catch her watching in your direction a lot of time when you look at her too.

You don’t know how Sarina heard about that, but you assured her that you can still play as good as always. So, she lines up for your first game, against South Corea. You scored that day, like Georgia, Alessia and Lauren James. The first win was unbelievable, playing in almost full stadium too. And scoring your first goal in a Mundial was amazing.

Georgia decided to head a little hiding party, inviting everyone who wants to come. You did but spend almost all your time drinking your beer while watching Alessia. She’s so beautiful that you want to cry. You know you will never have her in any way, why can’t you stop those stupid feelings?

You would need to confide in someone, but Maya is probably not reachable now, being in England, so is Leah. You have friends in Barcelona, but they are here too and probably asleep. And Lucy is nowhere to be found, either in her room or on the phone with her own girlfriend. So, you decide to go in your room too, maybe to try to drink something stronger to forget all of this shit.

In your room, you sigh, disappointed. Your fridge is empty, probably an ask made by the English Federation. You understand, of course you can’t get hungover right now. How did Georgia find those beer anyway? You lie down on your bed, looking at the ceiling for a long moment before deciding to take a shower.

You slowly take your things and head for the bathroom. You stay a long time under the hot water too, needing time to wash all your feelings of the previous day. When you come out, you have decided to focus on the games and your play, not everything else. You have to.

Sarina, your teammates, your friends and your family are counting on you to have a great result. Your family is still in England for now, in the north of England. They will come after the qualifications, hopping England will pass the qualifications. You want to make your family proud, of course. You left them to play football very young and are used to be far away from them. But you still love them and their opinion are the most important for you.

Only wearing a oversize t-shirt and a shorty, you left your bathroom with your hair wet. You will hate yourself tomorrow, but you decide to sleep like this, not taking the time to dry them.

You were going under the cover when you hear someone knock on your door. Frowning, you go to open it, wondering who can come to you at this time of the night. Maybe Lucy who just hang up with Ona and need to cool off. Things are awful in Spanish Federation and you are happy to be English right now. You open the door, waiting to be faced to Lucy. But you were wrong.

“Alessia?”

The blonde is looking at you, looking like she’s wondering too what she’s doing here.

“Hi” she says with her sweet voice. “Can I come in, please?”

“Uh, sure” you answer with a second late.

You let her in, closing the door slowly behind her. Her perfume is tickling your nose and God. What is she doing here? You turn to her, she is in the middle of your room, playing with her fingers.

“How can I help you?” you ask her, beckoning her to sit down on your bed.

She’s still playing with her fingers and rings when she starts talking, but you leave her fingers with your eyes when she starts talking.

“I learn what happened with your girlfriend” Alessia starts.

“Ex” you mumble, shrugging.

“Yeah. But I just wanted to know that if you need someone to talk about it, you can come to me. I know I’m not Leah or Maya, but if you need someone, it can be me.”

You look at her, surprised. You don’t know what you were waited about her presence in your room, but definitely not that. The gesture touches you, very clearly. But you don’t want to lie to her or that she imagines things.

“I really appreciate it, honestly. But I have to let you know that I wasn’t really in love with her.”

“No?”

You shake your head negatively, then shrug your shoulders. It was weird to explain that the girl you are in love with why you weren’t in love with your ex-girlfriend.

“I trusted her and we had fun together, but I wasn’t in love. The betrayal still hurt, though.”

Alessia nods thoughtfully, biting her lips. And you have to take all your self-control to drag your eyes away from her. You feel like a disgusting teenager sometimes. Maybe when she left you will need another shower. Cold, this time.

“So, do you have someone else in mind?”

This conversation is unreal. Your eyes almost jump on Alessia’s silhouette with that question and you don’t know what to answer. Some seconds passes and you still haven’t answered anything. You gulp and take a breath, but Alessia is finally the first to talk again.

“I see you, you know. Looking at me.”

Ok, this is maybe the moment where you will die. You are mortified. You thought that you were being subtle about it, always looking when Alessia isn’t. You try to be respectful too, not staring at her in the changing room or when she’s not fully clothed. You feel yourself blush, a bright red blush, and you are definitely not ready for the last sentence leaving Alessia’s lips.

“I’m looking at you too”

It’s a whisper, that you probably wouldn’t have heard anywhere but in the silence of your room. You are now looking in her eyes, deep, looking for the truth.

“Alessia, if this is a joke…”

“It’s not!” Alessia takes your hand and comes infinitely close to you. “I swear it’s not.”

Her first answer was almost shout, unlike the second. Her eyes are in yours, her hand squeezing yours and you can think straight anymore. You lean to kiss her and it’s even more everything than you thought it would be. Her lips are sweet, soft and taste like strawberry. Just when you wanted to break the kiss to check that if your action were ok, a whimper left Alessia’s lips, and you just want to hear that sound again and again.

You extend the kiss, not leaving the opportunity when Alessia parts her lips. Your tongue caresses her bottom lip before starting to explore her mouth. You never felt so many feelings to be honest. You almost were shaking.

Wanted to feel her closer, you put your hand on her neck, taking her more against you. When she passes her hand in your now semi-wet hair, you make you fall delicately on the bed. Deciding not to lye on her right now, you lye next to her, on your front while she’s on her back.

When air became an issue, you break the kiss this time. Alessia’s lips were swollen, probably like yours. Her breathing was fast and deep, her chest rising irregularly to the rhythm of her breathing.

Alessia is the one initiating the kiss this time, taking you against her. You let her do it, obviously. This time your chest in on hers and the feeling adding with the kiss is driving you crazy. You manage to keep calm for more kisses, but when her hands are on your back and ass, you try to escape her arms.

“We need to stop” you breath difficulty.

“Why?”

Alessia’s disappointment is hard to miss and it’s flattering. But once again, you chose to be honest with her.

“Because if we don’t stop now, I won’t be able to stop after, Less.”

You saw in her eyes that she understands perfectly what you mean. She bites your lips, from under you and the gesture make enjoyable sensation right in your core. But you have to ignore it.

“What if I want the after?”

You don’t know in what parallel universe you are, honestly. But you need to check that she was being serious and sure of herself. And if she wasn’t drunk too, but you only saw her drink Pepsi tonight.

“I want it, Y/N” is her only answer.

You look at her eyes for several seconds before leaning it again, kissing her on the lips once again. The feeling is intoxicating, honestly. You don’t know it this is a one-time thing or not, but you take your time anyway.

Discovering her is like a dream and you take all the time necessary to remember every part of her. You touch, kiss and stroke every part of her body, trying to remember to what sound she makes at every move. You are kissing her neck, lying between her thighs with her in underwear when she speaks again, whispering softly.

“I’ve never been with a girl before.”

You leave her neck to be able to look at her better, looking at her babyblue eyes. You want her to be comfortable and make this night about her. Not about you fulfilling your fantasies, even if it’s the case right now.

“We still can stop it if you don’t feel right. Just one word and we stop”

She nods, biting her lip once again.

“I don’t want to stop. But I don’t know how to do things.”

She looks shy and you are filled with another feeling than pleasure or wanted. Alessia trusts you and it’s more than everything you ever wanted.

“I will show you” you smile softly.

She smiles back and you return of what you were doing. She seems to relax this time, letting her body fully in your hands. She’s still a little shy at first, but she seems to learn fast. And it’s just amazing.

being the high mage of outworld, rain was pretty much always in the palace. but he never got tired of it. because you were there.

he was so enamored with you, the beautiful person sitting on the throne beside your sisters and mother. you looked so elegant every single day.

rain often stared at you any time you were in the same room. he just stared and thought of your future together. he had no doubt that you two would be together in the future forever. til' death do you part.

even though you don't get to talk to him as much as he'd desire. but that's okay, rain is a very patient and calculated man! he can wait for you to finally realize just how in love he is with you. he isn't worried about *when* you fall in love with him, because he is so confident that you will be together in the future.

for now, he must be very careful. especially because your family has high expectations for who your consort must be.

therefore, he is determined to prove himself worthy of your affections. rain already knows he is worthy, since he is the high mage of outworld, but he works hard every day to prove that title wasn't given for free.

do you remember that one man that was recommended for you to marry? of course you don't, because he never responded back when you accepted. you don't know what happened to him. maybe he is ignoring you? oh well, at least you have the cute hydromancer that is always there for you!

zeffeero is always there for you. your troubles will never last as long as he is there by your side. he will always make you feel better. you need him to feel better, don't you?

he is very determined for you to depend on him. you make him feel so smart and strong when you go to him for advice or help for the smallest things. you need help carrying a couple boxes? no worries, he can just carry them all himself! you don't know which outfit looks better on you? he thinks you look radiant in any outfit you wear, but he would gladly give you his input anyway!

besides, if zeffeero slowly convinces you that you need him, then someday you will be completely devoted to him and you will never leave him. you can't leave him, you need his support and his love. nobody can help you or love you as much as he does.

and he knows you're royalty so you're very well-trained, but he must protect you anytime you need it. he doesn't think the umgadi are fit to defend you. they won't be able to defend you as well as the high mage of outworld can.

also, zeffeero isn't just smart and strong, he is also very considerate and observant. sometimes, he shows up to your bedroom and offers your favorite breakfast in the morning. but.. how did he know what your favorite is? oh, he can just tell by your expression as you eat it. that's it! he totally doesn't stare at you until his eyes go dry and follow you around when you don't notice! he always sees you sneak off into the kitchen at night to grab some of it. he knows, since he always notices when you leave your bedroom.

he likes sneaking into your bedroom and watching you sleep. he studies the way you sleep so he can provide a bed that best suits your needs in your future house. and plus, zeffeero thinks you just look so cute when you’re asleep and vulnerable!

he is also a very good listener. when you need a shoulder to cry on, he is always there to hear you and listen to you rant about your problems or people who hurt you. oh? you noticed that they miraculously stopped messing with you? and they run off as soon as they see you? oh, that's great! it totally wasn't because zeffeero threatened to take their lives...

overall, he's just such a great friend! he would be an even better boyfriend, wouldn't he? maybe even an amazing husband! you should probably reciprocate his affections as soon as he confesses. maybe he can help protect you, since you always get the feeling that you're being watched and followed everywhere you go. i mean, he's not the one watching and following you... right?

“Father?”

“Yes?” Bruce was concerned. You kept shifting your weight and fiddling with your fingers. He’s never seen you this nervous before. He tensed, preparing for the worst.

“Iwanttobeasinger.” You blurted, looking anywhere you could that wasn’t his face.

Bruce blinked. “Can you say that a bit slower please sweetheart?”

You took a steadying deep breath. “I want to be a singer.” You said significantly slower.

Bruce let out a deep breath and let his body sag. He’d never been religious but in that moment he thanked whatever was up there for helping him.

You looked at him, confused.

“I thought you were gonna ask to be a vigilante.”

Your face contorted in alarm. “Me? A vigilante? Never.”

He chuckled and then brought attention back to what you said. “So you want to be a singer? How do you plan on doing this?”

“Y-you don’t care?” You questioned in shock.

“Why would I care? You’re my daughter and I will always love and support you. I’m glad you found something you really enjoy and intend to make a career out of it. Finding something you enjoy doing is hard, being able to make a career out of it is harder. If it makes you happy then I’ll gladly help you with it if you need it.”

“Even though it’s a bad career?”

“Some people in it may be bad but it doesn’t make the career bad. Music is all about self expression and is a great outlet for emotions. It brings people together and makes them realize they’re not alone. I think you’ll be an amazing singer.”

You began to tear up but do your best to hold it back, “Thank you father.”

“I want to be a singer.”

Immediately, everyone stopped talking and looked at you. You did your best to not shrink under the sudden attention. Usually, you never spoke at the dinner table, content to just listen.

“That sounds like a great idea Birdy!” Dick said.

“Lil sis’ gonna be the talk of the town.” Jason smirked at you.

“That’s great! I can’t wait to hear it! Tim exclaimed.

Damian’s reaction is the one you feared the most. He’d always disliked you leaving behind the life of fighting for a mundane one.

“I think that is a respectable profession.”

At your brothers’ approval, you broke out into a wide grin. Bruce was smiling openly at you all and wondered how he got so lucky to have such an amazing, supportive family.

You were backstage, makeup done, earpiece linked, and microphone ready to go. You were really nervous. This was going to be your first-ever live performance since you released your first album. It was such a hit, it became the number 1 album on the charts a few hours after release, with over 30 million streams. You were stuck in your thoughts when you felt a hand on your shoulder. You turned to look at the person, it was your father.

"Don't be nervous, you're going to do great. I'm so proud of you. You're so talented and amazing. They're going to love you out there."

"Thanks dad." You smiled. His words warmed your heart. No one ever told you they were proud of you before. Despite what he said, you still felt a little nervous.

After waiting a bit more, it was time for you to get on stage. You heard cheering in the crowd as you emerged from the darkness. Now in the spotlight, your nerves came back tenfold. The bright lights blinded you, but you could still see the silhouettes of everyone who came to see you tonight. There were way more people here than you expected. You stepped up to the mic and adjusted it.

"Hello," The crowd's cheering picked up. You smiled and waited for it to quiet down before continuing. "thank you all for coming. I appreciate every single one of you. You made it possible for me to be standing here right now and I am so grateful. Enjoy the show!" The crowd's cheering picked up yet again as your first song came on.

You were so tired but so, so happy. The concert was a major success and nothing went wrong. You had so much fun getting to know your audience and calling people up on stage. You got backstage and your whole family was there.

"You did amazing!!"

"You're my new favorite singer."

"She's been my favorite singer, keep up."

"Your voice is unmatched, my dear girl."

"I knew you could do it."

"You were adequate, don't let the praise get to your head."

Your face hurt from grinning, and you could help but feel elated. Your family's support meant the world to you, and you were so grateful for it.

Make Bela ditch her student council responsibilities. (kidnapping is in the table)

Did you broke into Cassandra room, drug her coffee, tied her up and trap her in a far away room?

Now you have two pissed off girls with Amazonian genes looking at you with something that make your brain tickle.

Cassandra looked like she was thinking about stabbing you and watch your blood stain the floor.

Bela don't looked that mad but you have that feeling that if you got close enough she will tear out your throat with her teeth the tape in her mouth be damned.

So you keep distance.

"well I think you are curious about the reason that you are here, is pretty simple, I need a tiny Itty bitty favour from you two. Are you following me?"

They keep glaring at you.

"Great! I just need to make clear the consequences of denying or not doing it all. Nothing too big I'm just gonna burn down the theater and do the same thing with the student council room. Data, paperwork, costumes, scenarios everything to ashes"

Their eyes grow wide for moment and they glared you with more fury.

"Good with that out of the table, let's go to business. The thing I'm need from you is.....

You pause and slowly pick something from your back because you enjoy the drama and messing with them.

"TO HANG OUT WITH YOUR LITTLE SISTER, MISS DANIELA *SKATE ROAR* DIMITRESCU !"

You throw confetti at their shocked and confused face.

"go shopping, have dinner together, watch a movie, spa time whatever you want to do, I don't give a fuck just pass time with her"

They still looked very confused.

"So, Cass you have two weeks to clean your schedule and Bela you have three, I think that's enough time, fail to comply and well things will become difficult."

They were staring at you trying to make sense of your actions. You take Cassandra tape off.

You put the tape back before she can answer you. You look at Bela.

"I don't think I need to say anything you are a very smart girl, you should know what you hadn't done. Because that's the thing miss president, of everything you had done what is what you haven't bother to do? Let me give you a clue: is not paperwork.

"Good Talk" you loosen the knot and start running away. You hear them struggling but you already are too far from them.

The next week is a game of where is wally, you disappeared. Your roommates said that you were dealing with some of family emergency and you will be back in less than a month.

The two weeks pass and half of the curtain in the theater had burned in a mysterious fire. The next day a quarter of the chairs are covered with gasoline and the costumes are missing, a broken clock is in Cassandra dressing room.

After nothing else is found she ask Dani to watch legally blonde with her, to relax she says.

They laugh, Daniela recalls the time that they will annoy everyone by repeating the lines of the movie.

"So you were in the shower"

"what? Is hard?"

How long have that been? Cassandra can't remember. She falls asleep, wake up scared and disoriented.

"Is okay Cass, I got you, I got you, I'm here with you"

The same words she had said the first time that her nightmares started. Daniela always insisted on having sleepovers because she don't wanted to leave her big sister alone. God, how long have been?

The next day the costumes are found in perfect condition, a cup of Cassandra favorite mix of coffee is there with a note: "Good job, little star"

She have movie nights every three days after that.

The three weeks passed, ashes is what rest of the paperwork in the council, the data in the computers are corrupted, a lot things have to be rewritten, firms and petitions have to be collected again, is hell for everyone.

A broken clock above the table is mocking Bela.

She ask Dani to have dinner with her.

"I just don't want to think about it right now" Is the answer that she gives to ease the worry of her little sister.

Daniela nods still worried, she takes a bites and she freezes, tears falls of her eyes. Bela look at her with light worry.

"are you okay?,is to spicy? Salty?"

Daniela laughs cleaning her tears and eating with joy "Is perfect! Is just have been years since I eat it! Yours have always been my favorite!"

Bela open her mouth to correct her, but Daniela is right, Is been years since Bela cooked for her, Is been years since she had cooked for Cassandra.

She had no heart but she swear that is breaking in her chest at this revelation.

The next day the paperwork is in the table, with hard drives full of the data lost. There is still work to do.

She delegates and go back to her room.

There is a book, some scented candles and a note: "I'm proud of you, pretty girl"

They have dinner every two days.

The month ends.

The three dimitrescus are discussing about what movie watch a new tradition for them.

The door opens and you appear, you smile at them, Daniela gets up of the couch hugging you and asking about your family.

"Things are better now, we drifted but we can always come back to open arms."

You look at the two girls in the couch, you don't know if they were grateful or angry, you don't care Daniela was happy and when she go back with them, they looked happy too.

The twenty four loops that take you to achieve it were worthy.

(Learning how to hack, schedules, patrons, take a lot of time, practice and patience, you may had burn down alcina art room to relax a couple of times)

I 100% agree with your assessment about the awards. I mean…look at Harrison Ford he hasn’t won an Oscar at all and he is one of the most famous actors ever. Or Al Pacino. He was nominated for the Godfather, Serpico, etc right at the height of his career but didn’t win until much later. Pedro is going to be just fine. He’s going to continue getting jobs. His talent is still there. People are still gonna want to hire him. He was obviously having fun and living his best life. He’s worked so damn hard to get where he is. Let him enjoy this.

I guess I just saw a lot of people projecting their own disappointment into Pedro and deciding he was sad about it. I mean, I can't claim to know what he's thinking and feeling either, but did you see him on that stage? He was WIGGLY. Like a little puppy having the time of his life. All the pictures from the aftermath were of him smiling we've all stared at him long enough to know when he's smiling through discomfort vs. his genuine self. And I interpreted everything as genuine.

He was there with his beautiful sister on his arm, he was nominated for THREE EMMYS IN ONE YEAR, he looked fkn smashing.

And HE GOT TO PRESENT AN EMMY. C'mon! You don't get asked to do that unless you've made it! They put a lot of money into these award shows and they're broadcast all over the world. The last thing they're gonna do is put someone up there that makes everyone go "who's that?" No. You put Pedro up there because everyone knows Pedro now.

Because he's a GD star.

I guess I was just sad for everyone this morning because they weren't seeing what I was seeing, because they weren't sharing the joy that I saw in his eyes, that same little boy looking up at a movie screen and wishing so hard to be among those greats, that same little boy that's still inside him, looking around the auditorium and out from the stage thinking OMGS THIS IS MY LIFE

The amount of times RWBY wants us to feel scared for the safety of characters while conveniently forgetting Aura exists is staggering. Neo attacks Ruby with the intent to kill but her Aura is still active. James almost shoots Marrow with the intent to kill but his Aura is still active. Watts hacks an Atlesian Knight to run towards Qrow, Robyn and the Ace Ops with the intent to explode but their Auras are still all active. Sure the attacks would hurt like hell but they're not gonna kill, why should I fear for their safety?

If we're being generous (I'm having a good night lol) I suppose we could read moments like James vs. Marrow as shocking not because it would be a one-shot death sentence, but because he's threatening - in general - to take Marrow down. Sort of the equivalent of an IRL person raising their fists. Is that an immediate threat to the person's life? No. Are you making it clear that you're willing to fight over this while also ambiguously leaving it open how far you're willing to take things? Yeah.

You're right though, too often RWBY relies on average action threats (a pistol, an explosion, etc.) to raise the stakes without taking into account that none of that should be very scary to our protagonists. Not until their aura breaks (and we have no sense of when that will happen, despite them all supposedly carrying Scrolls to tell them. Which I get because if RWBY introduced clear thresholds of when aura breaks they'd have to actually abide by that rule). I feel the same way about characters about to fall: Ruby hanging off the airship with Neo, Ruby hanging off the cliff while fighting Cordovin, Ruby and Oscar both going down in an airship. The very first technique we're shown is a landing strategy, so how is falling from a massive height - even while taking into account other factors like, say, snagging the farm boy who never went to Huntsmen school and might need to use you as a personal parachute - meant to be taken as a serious threat?

In this regard the void of Volume 8 is actually a GREAT idea. Suddenly your landing strategy doesn't mean a thing if you have nowhere to land. Suddenly a single hit can be a threat. Not because the hit itself would seriously hurt you, but because it might knock you off the edge. I actually love the concept of Yang falling at the start of that fight, RWBY just did such a horrific job of executing it that there's nothing left for me to enjoy. Why does Yang panic like that when, as established, a single hit from Neo is not going to kill Ruby, or even seriously hurt her? Why is she jumping in front of her sister at all when the entire POINT (supposedly) of her Volume 3+ arc was to learn fight smarter, rather than relying on emotional impulsivity? (I will seriously never be over how that moment is an exact repeat of Yang trying to save Blake and yet the show doesn't seem to realize that.) Why does only Blake have a reaction to Yang "dying"? Why didn't the whole team of talented fighters with various ranged weaponry/magic/speed make a serious attempt to catch her?

All of this isn't even taking into account how Yang, as someone who powers up via taking hits, should consistently be standing her ground like she did against the mech, knowing her aura will not only save her, but give her an advantage. She's the tank. If Yang had gotten in front of Ruby with a confident, calm expression that conveyed her understanding that Neo can't one-shot her aura like Adam once did, taking the hit both to spare Ruby's aura and power her semblance as a strategic decision (give her a smirk and a taunting line like, "Thanks for the boost" before knocking Neo back), then later falls some other way after her team tries and fails to save her... that would have been so much better imo.

Yang's lack of engagement with her semblance has been especially frustrating for me after her line about how Adam "cheats." If Yang thinks it sucks that she has to take a beating to gain an edge... show her actually taking a beating to gain an edge. You know, like the show once did. It would be so badass to watch Yang getting in the way of all the attacks against her team, toeing the line between safety and breaking her own aura, before finally EXPLODING with a massive attack she's been saving up for, making that sacrifice worth it.

(Also potentially devastating if she's taking those hits with turning the tide in mind... but then she falls before she can see her plan through.)

Time for some Grant (Freak) and Jeff headcanons!

I’ve been neglecting these sweet boys lately so here’s a few random tidbits I came up with for them…

Full name: Grant Raymond Alexander

Has four little sisters…

Lisa— same age as the Party. Doesn’t run in the same circles as them, because she’s a cheerleader and plays softball, but Grant asked her to kind of watch over El in school so Lisa made a point to befriend her.

Ida— same age as Erica Sinclair and they are sassy besties. Erica is constantly trying to get her to join Hellfire, but Ida doesn’t want to admit to Grant that she thinks something he likes is actually cool.

Annie— a couple years younger than Ida and Erica. She’s a shy little bookworm and often gets kind of lost in the shuffle of her big family.

Beth— same age as Holly Wheeler, they’re also besties. They terrorize Eddie on a regular basis by demanding he play beauty parlor with them and let them “style” his hair.

Grant’s dad owns some stuffy corporate accounting firm and he expects Grant to follow in his footsteps and join the family business. Grant is studying accounting at college, but he hates it and dreams of being a rock star or a pastry chef— or both! He wants to create beautiful things. (Full credit for the pastry chef idea goes to @moonchildreads - we ❤️ Donny!)

His dad also is the director of the church choir. Grant likes being in the choir but after spring break ‘86 he started enjoying church itself a lot less. He’s thinking of quitting but doesn’t want to disappoint his father.

Grant goes to the local community college because he wanted to stay close to home to help take care of his sisters— he didn’t think all the babysitting, cooking, etc should fall to Lisa just because she’s a girl.

Just because he’s chubby doesn’t mean he’s slow. Grant is super strong and agile. He played football during his freshman and sophomore years, but HATED the toxic attitude of the jocks and the constant pressure from the coach. When he didn’t come back to the team junior year, most of them viewed it as a betrayal. But they can’t bully him because he’s bigger and stronger than all of them.

Full name: Jeffrey Dean Collins

Middle kid of three, all brothers…

Julian— two years older. Star athlete who now coaches football at one of the state colleges.

Jonathan— two years younger. Total math and science nerd. Dustin calls him the smartest kid in the school (and is totally jealous of that fact).

Jeff is majoring in education, and his first year in college he did a minor in some music related field (producing or sound or something). He wants to be a music teacher. Initially he was thinking he could use what he learned to help corroded coffin make it big, but heard enough horror stories about trying to get into the music biz that he decided teaching would be just fine with him.

Jeff loves his brothers, but they’re all so different he feels like he has nothing in common with either of them. He also feels like the “underachiever” of the family since his talent isn’t in a school-related thing like sports or science.

However, Jeff does get along GREAT with his mom. Sometimes he feels like she’s the only person in his family he can actually talk to. They have the same wildly eclectic taste in music, both of them love reading, and she understands his moods better than anyone.

When Jeff and Eddie first decided to start Corroded Coffin, his dad and his brothers didn’t get it and were a little mean about it. “Why do you wanna play loud angry white music with that trailer trash boy”, etc etc. But his mom saw in Eddie the same thing she’d always seen in Jeff, that they were outsiders just looking for a place to fit in and a group to belong to, and she defended him. She informed the rest of the family that Jeff could make any kind of music he wanted, with any kind of people he wanted, as long as it made him happy. Eventually the rest of the Collins fam came around, and Jon even asked Jeff to teach him to play guitar.

[INTERVIEW] Elle Girl (November 2010)

IU, as lovely as her age

Has the time come for a change of the nation’s little sister?

Without pretending to look like an adult, or being snobby and only pretending to look cute on stage, IU is as lovely as her age.

You came for the morning photoshoot in your school uniform.

IU: It’s been awhile since I went to school, so I went to take attendance at least and met my teacher before I came.

How’s school life for you?

IU: It’s not just difficult to keep up with the pace in school, it’s practically impossible. I almost didn’t attend at all for the 1st semester and it’s about the same now too.

Back in elementary school, you came in 1st place and even became the school president, but it seems your grades have dropped a lot.

IU: I really studied hard until my 2nd year in middle school, but when I debuted in my 3rd year, my grades plummeted. While participating in my activities as an artist, I couldn’t pay attention to my studies.

You must be feeling terrible.

IU: Not at all. I’m satisfied that I managed to find my path early on. It’s not possible to do two things at once. I have to delve deep into either my studies or singing, but music is my priority right now. My friends and I are just taking our own separate paths.

Do your parents share the same sentiments?

IU: I think my mum asked me to study because she doesn’t know my talent and feels that the only thing I can do right now is to study. Now I think they feel that singing is better than studying for me. Or they’ll just have to give in to my stubbornness. Haha.

Are you close to your friends in school?

IU: My friends are not that comfortable around me.

You’re really close to F(x)’s Luna.

IU: She’s my first friend in the entertainment industry. They asked me in an interview which girl group member I wanted to get closer to, so I picked Luna. I guess that interviewer told Luna about it. At the Music Bank waiting room, Luna approached me first to make conversation. We got closer quickly as we're the same age.

There’s a photo of both of you going to Lotte World recently too.

IU: We didn’t think we would be recognised, but people took our photos and it came out in the news too, which took us by surprise. We went secretly without our managers knowing, so we got into trouble for that.

You must feel lonely being alone as your peers mostly promote in groups.

IU: I guess so. When I debuted initially, there was no one to talk to in the waiting room, so I was really bored. It’s fine now. I have Luna and because of my radio activities, I got to know many seniors. In particular, Lee Sooyoung and Park Kyungrim sunbaenim take good care of me.

Have you had thoughts that girl groups are the trend now, which is a loss for you?

IU: I think we each have our own turf. The music they do is different from the music I do, after all.

Your popularity has been rising recently. You came in 1st place on music programs with ‘Nagging’ too.

IU: I didn’t achieve it by myself and Seulong oppa has been a great help. Seulong oppa is popular to begin with. I’m in a daze after coming in 1st place without going through much difficulty during promotions. I didn’t even join the after party on that day and went straight home to sleep.

You’ve sung quite a number of duets, with Im Seulong, Sung Shi Kyung, Na Yoon Kwon and Yoo Seung Ho as well.

IU: I have 4 single albums just from the duets, so it does seem like a lot. It seems that I have a feminine voice, so it matches well with the male singers when we sing duets. I’ve received many requests and my agency intends to limit them too now. We can’t have that becoming my image.

Who did you enjoy singing a duet with the most?

IU: Each of them have their own special characteristics. I got closer to Yoon Kwon oppa through the radio show, so we had good camaraderie, Shi Kyung oppa is a good singer to begin with, so I just went with the flow. Seung Ho oppa isn’t a singer, so I led him along. With Seulong oppa, I enjoyed working together with him.

The oppas find you adorable right?

IU: Perhaps because I worked with Shi Kyung oppa recently, he contacts me frequently. He talks to me comfortably. Haha. We’ve decided to go and eat raw seafood together with Yoon Kwon oppa as well.

When will you release your own solo album?

IU: I’m going to release a mini album soon. I’ve been receiving songs recently.

Will it be a refreshing and lively concept?

IU: I’ve received a lot of love with that sort of image, so I guess it will be that way.

You said that initially the cute concept didn’t suit you?

IU: I had a tough time during ‘Boo’ and ‘Marshmallow’. Usually, I’m rather cold, to the extent that people around me feel disappointed, so of course it was tough for me to pretend to look cute on stage. Would you believe it if I told you that growing up, I’ve never been told that I’m cute? I did receive acting lessons and got better at it though. I’m fine with cute concepts too now.

I heard that you dream of becoming a singer-songwriter like Corinne Bailey Rae.

IU: I enjoy listening to Corinne Bailey Rae or John Mayer’s songs. I want to become a singer-songwriter like them. I’ve started writing songs recently, but I’m embarrassed to show them to everyone, so I’ve only let a composer oppa I know listen to two of them.

What did he say about them?

IU: He gave me courage, of course. While saying, ‘I see buds sprouting’ (t/n: meaning that he sees the start of something to come).

Try throwing a tantrum and telling your agency what kind of music you want to do.

IU: I’ve known them since I was young (t/n: during her trainee days), so they know well what I like. A song composed by me could be on my next album. I think if I work at it slowly like this, I can make it happen.

You dislike being treated like a young child right?

IU: I don’t dislike it. It’s true that I’m young.

You’re 19, so you might think you’re all grown up now.

IU: I don’t think so. My body, face and voice are all still young. I’m glad the general public seems to want to listen to the music and vocal style of my generation.

What did you do yesterday?

IU: I had a long-awaited break. I was bumming around at home, then ate cup noodles with manager oppa, my mum and my grandmother. When I’m busy, I’m like, ‘Give me some time. I want to meet friends and do all sorts of things’, but when I actually get to rest, I’m not sure what I should do.

I heard you like reading so much that it’s as if you’re in a book club.

IU: Reading is my hobby. I’ve been reading an essay compilation about New York recently.

I heard you write regularly in your diary too.

IU: I’ve been too tired recently to write long entries, but I don’t miss a single day. I would write something like, ‘Ah, I’m so tired’ at least, before I go to bed.

Isn’t it tiring filming ‘Heroes’?

IU: Now that I’ve gotten closer to the members, it’s fine. I’m just so jealous that everyone is so pretty. Jiyeon, who is my age, Kahi unnie and Sunyoung unnie all have such small faces and slim figures.

IU is pretty too. Your manager says you just need to grow taller.

IU: While losing weight, I’ve been hearing people say that too. I didn’t go on a diet. What I hate the most is skipping a meal. I get annoyed when they don’t give me food when I’m working.

You’ll have some fun at the end of the year, right?

IU: I don’t have schedules yet, but I think I’ll be appearing as a guest for a concert. I have ambitions for a concert, so I purposely go to my seniors’ concerts often. I’m going to learn a lot and use that at my own concert.

What kind of concert do you dream of having?

IU: How about a concert with only acoustic (t/n: guitar), while sitting down from start to end? I’ll gather people with the same preferences as me and have a concert in a calm and comfortable atmosphere.

What kind of adult do you want to become?

IU: I do imagine what my 30s will be like. When I’m in my 30s, I’ll be able to do as I wish without caring about being judged by others, right? Just like Harin sunbaenim, I’ll be able to sing the songs I like, do concerts, go traveling, volunteer overseas, I hope to be able to live a carefree life like that.

Are you named after anyone?

Yes my great grandmother, and they told me she was a viery fierce and strong woman, she had also resisted to the Bulgarians during their occupation of Thrace in WW2. I am proud to be named after her!

When was the last time you cried?

Like real, physical tears? I never cried like that as far as I remember. I am physically unable to cry and currently working on that with my therapist, yk letting myself feel things. But this quite sobbing, when my team got knocked out of thecup a couple of months ago because of a shitty referee. I tend to get angry when feeling overwhelmed so I usually shout.

Do you have kids?

No, unless you count my pets

What sport do you play/have played?

A lot! I mainly did horseback riding my whole life but I also played basketball for about three tears and my team were in the first youth league at the time. I also played handball and tennis and did track and kick boxing. I also played football (where you kick the ball with your feet) for three years and I was a goalkeeper, I would have played in my national team if I didn’t have so many injures and an acl surgery during my second season and my exams and also the covid pandemic during my third season. But if I have to sum up, I do horseback riding for 15 years and football for 3, I hope I get back to it one day.

Do you use sarcasm?

Yeah, more now that I grew up.

What's the first thing you notice about people?

How tall they are, and their colour of their eyes!

What's your eye color?

Blue!

Happy ending comedies or horror?

Happy ending comedies, B99 is a huge fave of mine.

Any talents?

I am a very good artist, I draw very well on pen (but I barely post it) and I have been writing screenplays ever since I was 5 y/o. I have a talent for languages as well but I barely use it since I hate learning grammar. I can speak 3 so far (my native Greek, English and French) and I still work on two more (German and Italian).

Where were you born?

Greece!

What are your hobbies?

I am a scout, I love horseback riding, I love to draw and write, watching movies and our favorite football team with my sister and play lots of sports. I also like to go for a run at 06:00 in the morning and recently got into watching F1.

Any pets?

Yes, my dog Teddy, my mom says he is a mini copy of me but he is afraid of everything in this world and I am of nothing. I also count my sister’s cat Kitty and my brother’s parrot Corey since we all live in the same house and because they are younger than me, I used to help take care of them.

How tall are you?

180cm (I think it’s 6ft)

Dream job?

Military officer! I want to join the Air Force.

Favorite food?

Rice with schnitzel and white sauce with mushrooms, cheese and bacon.

Though angelic pop anomaly Aurora hails from Norway, it can feel like she was beamed here from another planet, an alternate universe, or at the very least, another time. A superstar with an otherworldly aesthetic, a special bond with nature and millions of followers on Instagram, Aurora is so enigmatic, decoding her is an almost impossible task. Still, we cannot help but try

Aurora is sitting in her bedroom, drinking a dark liquid from an elaborate chalice. “This is cola, by the way, not wine,” she clarifies, giggling. The Norwegian artist’s signature viking-meets-anime haircut frames her angelic face, which fills my screen. Behind her, beaded vintage purses and a dramatic silver gown cascade from the wall. Also in frame: a cabinet full of teas and spices and a picture of what appears to be Mary and baby Jesus.

Aurora is six minutes late, which she is profoundly apologetic for. She had been on top of a mountain in the rain and had to blow-dry her trademark cut before meeting with me. “It’s such lovely weather today. Really small raindrops from the sky,” she says. It’s fortuitous that she likes the rain; Aurora, born Aurora Aksnes, lives in Bergen, the rainiest place on Earth. It also happens to be the birthplace of the majority of Norway’s musical talent – DJ-producers Kygo and Alan Walker, electronic duo Röyksopp, even groundbreaking composer Edvard Grieg all hail from the city.

But Aurora’s story begins on the west coast of Norway, in a village next to the Lysefjord, also known as the Fjord of Light. “A lot of nature, a lot of forest, and little people,” she says. “So I grew up quite sheltered.” A self-described introvert, Aurora spent more time as a child within her own imagination than she ever did in school. She did, however, find a great companion in nature, spending hours walking in the forests close to her home. “Nature, she belongs to all of us. And she offers so much tranquillity and peace and silence,” she says, noting that these days we tend to get “very affected by so many worthless things”. “Nature offers some peace. It doesn’t matter who you are when you’re in the forest.”

After coming across her older sister Miranda’s piano in the attic at just six years old, Aurora started writing music . As she explains it, it was her calling because she felt that she’d never heard a perfect song. At nine, she started to write lyrics in English, and at sixteen, after a video of her singing went viral online, she quit school, and went on her first tour. At 20, she released her debut album All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend, launching an international career. The record features the song “Runaway”, which, despite being six years old, has enjoyed a recent resurgence via TikTok. Today it has more than 500 million streams on Spotify.

This year, at 26, Aurora released her latest album, The Gods We Can Touch, to critical acclaim. While one would certainly identify Aurora as a pop star, she is hardly mainstream. Her music reflects her ethereal essence, somehow embodying the fjords and the mountains around which she grew up. Characterised by dreamy harmonies, her sound both transcends space and time and is rooted firmly in the modern internet pop landscape. Perhaps it ’s this dichotomy that allows her music to live both in the world of Disney’s Frozen II and in the popular video game Assassin’s Creed.

Though Aurora doesn’t recall much from her childhood, aside from “the things I was dreaming about and thinking about”, she does fondly remember her cat, Septimus. It’s the same name she’s given all of her pets – to her mind they’re all the same creature, reincarnated again and again. “To deal with pets dying, it was good for me. I was a sensitive little bean,” she says.

I reveal that I have a pet dog named Doggy, who is nearly 15 years old. As soon as I mention him, Aurora starts to cry, tapping into my impending heartbreak. These days she doesn’t have a pet herself – the lifestyle of an internationally touring pop star doesn’t suit animal companionship. She has, however, made a connection with a crow in the park next to her home. Aurora brings him shiny things, and he brings her gifts sometimes, too.

In addition to Septimus, Aurora also found companionship in her two older sisters, Viktoria and Miranda. She says they are among the few people who understand her, granting her the space and freedom to be herself. “I was very disconnected from people as a child,” she says. “I learned to love most people in my life when I grew up and understood what the essence of family is, and love, and coexisting. Because I was really overwhelmed by just learning to exist in myself as a human.”

Today, Aurora and her sisters are not only best friends, but close collaborators; Viktoria is a stylist and costume designer and Miranda is a hair and makeup artist. The sibling trio collaborated on our editorial. Later, I ask Viktoria over text message what it’s like to work with her superstar sister. “She knows when to leave it to me, and I know when to shut up and do what she wants even though it kills my pride or ego,” she says, adding that Aurora is a “very relaxed boss”. Even over text message, the sisterly bond is apparent – Viktoria signs off with a plant leaf emoji.

“I hate the fashion industry,” Aurora boldly declares when we start to discuss her eight-year long collaboration with Viktoria. “Fashion is important to me – it’s art, and it’s beautiful – but I hate the sad, hidden part of it. It’s so un-transparent and secretive.” Rather than wear items with a nebulous history, she prefers to ask Viktoria to make her clothes. Sometimes she explains her vision, sometimes they draw up designs together. “It’s very loose and free,” she says.

A conversation with Aurora can spontaneously divert to musings on space and time, philosophy, and the human condition. It strikes me that she could have become anything she wanted, but she says she quickly settled single-mindedly on music. “I understood the importance of music quite early, and I connected it in my mind with nature,” she says. “Music is a way to pool what nature is for our souls into something we can hold in our hands, and kind of shape it into something more comprehensible.” Aurora speaks of nature and music as if they are an extension of herself or a language that she speaks fluently. As the thoughts tumble out, the cogs in my mind shift as I try to keep up.

The music she was exposed to early – Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Enya – is a sanctuary for Aurora. These artists offer both a means to self-understanding and a portal for escape. “My brain has sometimes been a good thing and sometimes been a bad thing. It depends on what situation,” she says. “Since I became an artist, it’s always been my goal to offer the same kind of escape.”

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Aurora is not one to focus on the superficial or mundane. “It doesn’t matter if you get likes or if you’re one centimetre skinnier in your arms. Or if you have a pimple on your forehead. We know it doesn’t matter, but we still let it affect us so much,” she says (for the record, Aurora gets many likes – she has 2.3 million Instagram followers). Instead, she spends her free time studying big ideas: our perception of time, reincarnation and the meaning of life.

Aurora has a charming habit of pointing out concepts she doesn’t understand, as if she’s an alien observing human behaviour. Take, for instance, the way in which we tend to view our lives in a linear series of events - engagement, marriage, children. She chuckles and says that she doesn’t grasp any of it. “I always think of life as me being here, and then life just happens around me all the time and you’re in the middle of the now, which you always own. The now is always yours,” she says, gesturing her hands around her in a circular motion.

“Life is just all a round us, all the time. And we capture the right things sometimes, the right people and the right moments and opportunities.” She pauses to stare out her window towards the mountains, cloudy skies, and miniature raindrops she loves so much, adding, “Earth is my favourite place I’ve been in my life.”

Happy birthday to Emily (my beloved OC), she's two-years-old today!

And I decided to do a little something to celebrate, so based on this post, I'll answer 20 questions as if they're an interview with Emily when she's 14 which's around the time she meets the other kids.

1. How do you like to spend your free time?

If possible, I like to spend it with my friends. Cooking or helping at the animal shelter are also good options

2. What is your relationship with your immediate family members?

My relationship with my sisters is pretty great - even though they're 10 years older than me and we don't see each other all the time, we're close. And about my dad... no commentaries.

3. If you inherited a large sum of money, how would you approach handling it?

Well... I'd probably donate a good part of it for the shelter and other animal institutions. Maybe try to help my sisters out, if they let me. And if there's still money after that... I'd save it, maybe for college.

4. Who are you closest to in your life?

Until some years ago, I'd say my sisters, but now, it's Shelly and probably Dewey too.

5. What is your most painful memory?

That's... a hard one to pick.

6. What is your happiest memory?

My first sleepover at the manor with everyone.

7. Describe your experience in an education system, if any.

School is... okay? Not amazing, but it could be worse. It's better than at home. I basically go invisible there.

8. What is your biggest fear and why are you so afraid of it?

Being a burden, to anyone. The reasons for that have... probably to do with my dad, if I'm being honest.

9. To what extent do you believe in hate?

The feeling definitely exists, if that's the question. I see displays of it every day.

10. To what extent do you believe in love?

I definitely love my sisters, and they love me back. Same thing with my friends... I hope. But I also need to believe love is stronger than hate.

11. What is the number one personal rule you have for yourself?

Treat others as you would like to be treated.

12. If you saw a picture of yourself, what is the first place you would look?

I honestly don't know. Probably my whole face to be sure I didn't grimace accidentally?

13. How would you describe yourself?

I like to think I'm a good person. I know I'm too shy, though, and I'm trying to get better about it.

14. How would others describe you?

Erica (sister): a bright eyed girl who loves fairy tales, and with a heart too big for your own good. Sometimes way more energetic than you look.

Ella (sister): my sweet protector of animals, and also my partner for burgers and plane talks.

Shelly: A nice, kind of shy and quiet, but sweet girl with an insane talent for understanding planes (test wise at least) and enjoys a lil piano lesson every now and then. With a hidden adventurous side she has yet to open herself up to.

15. What do you believe is your greatest weakness?

As my sister would say, my tendency to feel inferior all the time.

16. What do you believe is your greatest strength?

My kindness and compassion.

17. What makes you get out of bed everyday?

I don't really have a motivation, but if I had to pick: The people I care about.

18. What is the major challenge you face every single day?

My own insecurities and try to stand my ground more.

19. If you could give a message to your younger self, what would it be?

Just hang in there, things will get better, and you will meet the best friends you could ask for.

20. What is it that you want most?

To have a family.

Hey there! I totally get the frustration on content creation, I think all content creators feel it! Truth be told, I've heard that the algorithms are designed to make your first few posts successful, then it's a little harder to get views, so they keep you hooked and trying to make the next viral content, so that you keep pumping out content for their website! I don't know if it's true, but I've noticed that taking the stress off your shoulders and posting what feels authentic to you, and actually enjoying your content creation, tends to give the most insight and helps the process feel more successful! There's nothing better in content creation than seeing something you're proud of and love get the attention you want! Rather than things you hate making. Other tips I can think of is definitely utilize hashtags and SEO as those things help your content get seen in the first place. And definitely find your niche! There's no rush, so play around with what you like and see what takes off. For example, the witchy stuff on this blog gets the most engagement, but I still enjoy posting about cooking and such!

If you want genuine engagement and success, this is telling you to keep at your goals, to not rely on others but your own efforts and merits (as in not expecting others to do everything for you, but theres nothing wrong with help and collaborations), to be kind and generous to others as you climb to your goals, and it has an additional message of tradition, so maybe there is something in your ancestral lineage or heritage that can inspire you in your work. Perhaps its educating others on something from your history, or maybe its a lesson learned from the past. Animal Crossing Characters Headcanons #1

Heeey, I just got into the Animal Crossing's fandom a month ago and I wanted to do this soooo bad. I feel like there's not enough hdcns of Animal Crossing's characters on tumblr, so here u go !

We'll start with my tanuki bois: Tom, Timmy and Tommy Nook, enjoy :)

Our favorite Tanuki Landlord is 42 years-old. He left his natal town for the city at the young age of 20 and came back when he was around 30.

My boi is a bisexual king, periodt.

According to Sable, when he was a kid, he was a idealist with a heart of gold, very ambitious, yet always kind. He hated injustice and was actually very sensitive. I like to think young Tom Nook was a bit like Ash from Pokemon~~

He adopted Timmy and Tommy when they were basically babies (like 2 or 3 years-old or something). He considers them as his pupils and sometimes call them affectively his nephews. That's because he's got too much pride to call them his sons.

The fact that he found two children who looks exactly like him even though Tanukis are a very rare species is a pure coincidence, but Tom secretly like to think it was fate.

He's slowly recovering from depression. When he found Timmy and Tommy in his late twenties, he was at his lowest point, alone and broke, and even considered the s word. Adopting them was like starting a new life and he decided to come back at his little town to raise them and start over.

He's very good friend with Isabelle, Blathers and Sable, and get along with almost everybody, even if they all confirms that Tom is an introvert, just with good social skills.

He had a hard time reconnecting with Sable when he came back, because he developped trust issues. He either rejected her or didn't have enough time to spend with her. But now they are close again, even if they don't have the same complicty they had when they were children. Because of how he treated Sable back then, Mable doesn't trust him and thinks her sister deserves better (she's still polite with him though)

Coffee drinker, and during his breaks he sometimes smoke while Isabelle allows herself to drink a little glass of whiskey. They both do that when Timmy, Tommy and the Resident Representative (or kids in general) aren't there so they don't give a bad example.

He used to have a VeRy AmbIGuOus~~ relationship with Redd at their time in the city. They were buisness partners and lived together but that's all Tom would spoke about him. This is probably thanks to Redd that he discovered that he can be into men (and let's be honest anyone would be gay for Redd <3 even if he's a bastard).

He hates Redd with a passion not only because he betrayed him but also because he brings out the worst in him: from his desire of adventure he became drawn to danger and even illegal things, his dream of glory and ambitions turned into greed, and basically every of his morals and principles were dead during his time with him. He isn't proud of it at all.

Has many talents and interests: good crafter, very great singer (loves to do karaoke with Isabelle), has an eye for fashion (like to speak clothes and do shopping with Sable), chess player, pianist and violonist (he once did a cover of KK Lament).

He won't admit it, but now that he's a bellionaire and have a stable life, he slowly start to think about more "conventional life" things, like marriage~~. He still hasn't found the one yet. This idiot is so oblivious to love anyway... (Poor Sable)

He gives the best hugs <3

He can be harsh with people (especially the Resident Representative) because he doesn't want others to end up like him. He has a sort of affection toward the Resident Representative like for Timmy and Tommy and he's very protective of them. Tom is the kind of guy that would beat the shit out of himself to create a better system and future for the people he cares about, even if he has to act like the villain.

Basically act tuff but he's such a dad and a big softie I luv him so much <3

Despite their height, Timmy and Tommy aren't young children, they're both 15, with Timmy being a few minutes older than Tommy.

No one knows who are their actual parents, and they don't remember them neither, and both don't care. They are happy with their mentor Tom Nook and no one can replace him.

They both work because they want to. Tom Nook never forced them. At first he was just teaching them and let them observe him. Then, when his shop grew bigger and bigger (when he was more stable financially), he asked them if they wanted to work with him to put in practice what they learned. Timmy and Tommy were more than happy to, and actually were always harrassing Tom to let them work with him (they both truly admire him). When Tom Nook thought that they were ready (in New Horizons), he lend them the key of Nook's Cranny. The fact that they work alone in Nook's Cranny are way more a proof that Tom Nook trust them than any kind of exploitation.

Because they were raised by Tom Nook, they're both very mature for their age, more practical, independent and autonomous. So they don't really get along well with others children/teens and are more at ease with adults (Celeste and the Resident Representative are exceptions).

They are both smart as hell (young buisness prodigies), in a different way. Timmy is a quick thinker and learner, very adaptable, more social and persuasive, while Tommy is best at long-term planning, organization, logistics and managment. Tom Nook taught them everything he knows to not let them make the same mistakes he did.

Both probably have a high IQ and are good mathematicians and excellent chess players (Tommy beat Tom Nook once).

Since they are basically adults in teen's body, Tom Nook let them do wathever the fuck they want. They drink coffee, sometimes alcohol and Timmy even smoke once because he saw Tom Nook do it, but he hated that and never did again. Tom Nook knows they are responsible enough to handle themselves, but he's still here to protect or help them if they need him.

Tommy is a very good listener while Timmy gives great advices.

When they aren't working, they like to prank Tom Nook just to mess with him or test him. They like to switch clothes or things like that for example. Yet Tom is always one step ahead and always knows what they're up to. Little mischievous boys <3

They sometimes hang up with Celeste after closing the store since Blathers and Tom are friends. They get along well with her because of how calm and wise she is. They also like the Resident Representative more than just a client, because they're also more responsible than most people of their age (due to being in debt for Tom Nook), and Tommy has a little crush on them <3 (while Timmy is always like "Love sucks !")

They both accidentally called Tom Nook "dad" at different moment. Timmy did when Tom complimented him on his work (Literally the: "Nice work !", "Cool ! Thanks dad."). Tommy did when he was asking a innocent question like "Hey dad, why do you always look so sad ?". Tom Nook act like he didn't heard that but he was screaming internally.

They both live in Nook's Cranny. Upstairs, there's a studio for them to live (beds, kitchen, bathroom, etc.). Tom Nook comes to join them after they close to spend time with them and eventually stays there to sleep (when he's not overworked).

Timmy and Tommy are the only one who ever saw Tom cry.

They give Cuphead (Timmy) and Mugman (Tommy) from Casinoandcups vibe~~.

Do you still like Kanthony or more specifically Kate? I was scrolling down your Twitter and I saw you recommend an Edwina fic. I started reading and I’m halfway through it and it kinda pains me to see some fic authors or people from the fandom love this fic. It’s well written but it also makes Kate a villain and rewrites season two to fit the narrative of Edwina being a puppet in Kate’s hand. Of course i’m not saying what you should enjoy or read but I’m just wondering if that fic mirrors your opinion of Kate. I really hope I don’t seem rude with this ask, it’s not my intention and if so I apologize.

hey! going through my asks top-down because it’s easier.

yes, i adore kate. she’s my #1, my ride-or-die, my unabashed favorite. i have a hard time getting investing in stories where she’s not at least a peripheral presence.

because i love kate and i love flawed characters, i enjoy seeing her make mistakes and other characters viewing her in a critical light. it makes her human and it makes her all the more appealing to me.

the edwina fic, for me, is one of the best fics in this fandom. i find the author’s portrayal of both edwina and kate (even in her more limited presence) to be compassionate and forgiving. a hard truth we have to swallow is that kate fucked up!! not as much as anthony did (that man was a single-handed catalyst for the mess of season 2 and he got off essentially scot-free; the audacity of men indeed). but she did fuck up by not telling edwina about her feelings and almost letting edwina marry a man who didn’t love her (and what’s worse, loved her sister). kate had her reasons and they were very sympathetic, but that doesn’t erase that hurt. and then, after s2, edwina had to attend kate’s wedding to the man she almost married, and have her entire future basically dependent on being in the good graces of that very same man (who is now her brother-in-law).

that shit’s tough. edwina’s allowed to not have the most gracious feelings towards kate. in fact, that push-pull between love and hurt/hate/heartbreak/devastation was what made their relationship so good. kate was a good sister. an overbearing one, but a good one. and now, she barely knows anything about edwina and edwina barely knows anything about her. it’s so heartbreaking. i mean, they were family!!! the angst, the hurt, the love that continues to survive despite it all. this author did such a great, great job with edwina and kate’s relationship and edwina’s character development.

and she also got me thinking: how could kate accept anthony’s love at the end of s2 if the fractured relationship with her sister was the consequence? how would she get over that roadblock? how would anthony feel for being the cause of this broken relationship? the possibilities there for an angsty post-s2 kanthony fic are ENDLESS. the situation is so good, so painful. the writer in me was endlessly inspired by the beautiful, haunting world this author created.

as to your point about edwina being a ‘puppet’ in kate’s hands, well.... it’s an AU fic. some things were different, some remained the same. also, we have to understand... it’s edwina’s POV. the way she sees things were obviously very different from how kate or anthony (or the viewer) saw them. it doesn’t matter if her perspective is right or wrong, because the story’s about edwina and her journey to healing! it’s not so important to me because i think the friction in kate and edwina’s relationship was realistic and extremely well-done. i enjoyed the hell out of it.

and edwina and freddie were so cute!!!! i’m now also shipping them like nobody’s business, which is great.

tl;dr: it was a fabulous fic, the author is enormously talented, and i can still love and adore kate even if she’s not portrayed in the most flattering light in the stories that i read. good writing is good writing, and that author, to me, was one of the most talented voices i’ve encountered in this fandom thus far. we’re privileged to have her :)
