I love that the bg3 guys are all written to have this intense adoration of karlach and lae’zel’s abilities to absolutely eviscerate their enemies. they’ve all got the same taste in women, which is “she could gut the big scary man chasing me, and then princess carry me to safety in her blood spattered arms.” and I respect and relate to that, as a bisexual man myself.
#bg3#thoughts about media#I actually love all combinations between any of the guys and lae or karlach. all very good pairings.#honestly hard to choose a fave... but I do quite like wyll & lae and star & karlach.#idk. something about a guy exiled by his own father and then alienated by fiend’s blood with a girl entirely outcast by her people.#in both cases they are punished despite doing the right thing all because they questioned someone of a lawful alignment.#and then star and karlach... both stripped of their autonomy and treated as nothing but a means to an end...#and the unique romance cutscenes they can get with each other!! actually so sweet.#but don’t get me wrong. I still do love all the other combos too.#and it goes without saying that lae & karlach is a great pair too. nothing like a warrior’s bond.#meanwhile my approval the m/m ships is...well. limited.#I love wyll & star together. I like gale & wyll. I am okay with halsin & any of the boys...but he has to be written better.#and by better I mean give him a little more character and make it less about sex only. because the game largely reduces him to sex alone.#no shart mention because I never take her anywhere unless I have to.#sorry. I do not hate her but she just isn’t interesting to me.#and although there’s writing to acknowledge shartstarion as a possible pair.#I think it’s the worst companion/companion pair and I refuse to think about it.#I mean seriously. it’s a combination of two polyamorous bisexuals and yet the pair feels heterosexual.#please don’t to that to my darling vampire. let him be princess carried by the hot warrior gals.

Aching for you
Gale (m) x Tav (f). Some slow burn fluff between Gale and Tav, but don’t worry, it gets nasty.
Rating: 18+, Minors DNI
Pairing: Tav(f) x Gale
POV: 2nd person (Reader is Tav)
Warnings: SMUT | p in v sex | fingering | oral (f receiving) | Some game spoilers
(This is my first bg3 fanfic so pls be gentle. I’ve played through the game a handful of times, however and adore the progression of the Gale x Tav romance. Enjoy this one off! Let me know if I should do more)
It has been an odd few weeks traveling with your band of misfits. Each day drags along, your bones aching with the wear and tear of battle. Today was no different. Moonrise tower is your final stop before the trek to Baldur’s Gate. Ketheric Thorm is just out of arms reach, and the shadow curse is incredibly close to being no more. Yet still, the only thing you can think about is rest. A soft bedroll, a crackling fire, the cool air rustling the loose tendrils of hair that hang around your face and neck as you lull yourself to sleep with thoughts of victory and the warm embrace of a real bed when this is all over. Setting up your tent, you can’t help but catch a glimpse of Gale, fighting with the straps on his bedroll. His soft brown hair falls into his face, obscuring the light tint of red his skin has taken on from the struggle. You chuckle and shake your head, setting down your belongings in a messy pile before making your way to the flustered Wizard.
“Seems like you’re struggling a bit, love. In need of some help?”
Your voice startles Gale and he flicks his eyes around and then up to you. Gale’s back straightens quickly and he bumps his head on the upper pole of his tent, a small grunt leaving his lips. He slaps a hand to the back of his aching head and sighs in annoyance.
“Seems like I am. This gods damned bedroll has gotten the best of my tired hands. Would you mind?”
He gestures towards the roll now lying on the ground inside of his tent. You nod and kneel down, inspecting the tangled and knotted ties that keep the roll together. A small sigh leaves you once you realize why the poor fool couldn’t get them undone in the first place - he’s been pulling at the wrong string. With a quick tug, the ties slip from the roll and the down mat bursts open, nearly knocking you onto your backside. Standing quickly to jump out of the way of the impending doom that is goose feathers and cotton, you lose your balance and stumble, bumping into the wizard’s tall frame. A soft yelp leaves your lips has his hands meet your hips to steady you. Gale sucks his bottom lip between his teeth and releases you as quickly as he grabbed you.
“I do apologize.. I didn’t want to see you fall. The outcome would be much more disastrous knowing the rest of camp has no idea you’re even in my tent. Wouldn’t want them to get the wrong idea, you know?”
Your face flushes a deep shade of pink and you brush your hands down your sides, smoothing down your undershirt. Turning to face Gale, you notice his arms tightly crossed over his chest, his bottom lip tucked nicely between his teeth once more, almost punctuating his sentence. With a nod, you kneel back down to smooth out his bedroll. You both hear footsteps approaching the tent with haste and you stand to catch a glimpse of the sudden intruder. You see none other than Astarion, red eyes filled with worry and a hint intrigue as he pokes his head into the tent, a small smirk forming on his pale lips when he notices the two of you in the small space.
“My apologies, it seems I’ve interrupted something rather… intimate. I heard Tav yelp and my curiosity took over. Had to see what all of the fuss was about. But, I see that my guess was correct. Do treat her well, Gale. She’s a sweet thing once you unwrap her.”
You’re no stranger to the vampire’s flirtatious words, the two of you sharing a night together after the Teifling party. His voice is the sweetest venom, and he knows how to make your legs tremble. You shake your head and shove your hands into your back pockets, ducking out of the tent and past Astarion’s lanky frame before he could pile on any more saucy words. He chuckles and swiftly slips a finger into your belt loop, yanking you back towards him before you could gain too much distance. Gale’s arms stay crossed, his gaze narrowing at Astarion for a moment, and then softening again once he notices how quickly you’re trying to escape. His hands drop to his sides, one of them fiddling with his soft velvet sleep shirt. His stance causes a lump to form in your throat, feeling almost guilty that you stepped away from him so quickly. You much prefer his company over Astarion’s, but you don’t have the gall to tell him. Not in front of Astarion, anyway.
“Tav was simply assisting me with my stubborn bedroll. Nothing more. I do wish you wouldn’t barge in uninvited, however. Rather rude of you, considering the privacy I often give the two of you when you’re feeding.”
Gale’s head twists to the side, hiding a look of slight jealousy when Astarion pulls you closer to him. Astarion presses you into his side, his hand resting on the supple curve of your hip. You give him a playful shove and step back from the tent’s opening, shaking your head once more. Astarion peeks over his shoulder at you, one eyebrow raised, giving you that stupid smolder he loves to use when he doesn’t get what he wants.
“Yes, Astarion. Courtesy would look ravishing on you. Now if you’ll excuse me, I do believe I heard Karlach say that dinner was ready.”
•••
The night air is filled with the sound of soft snores and the gentle breeze from the deep black ocean just beyond the rocks of the camp. You sit on your bedroll, legs crossed, fingers folded neatly in your lap as you watch the fire dim to a low flicker, the air making it near impossible not to shiver. You poke your head out of your tent, scanning your surroundings before finding Gale, his frame resting just outside of his tent, tattered book in hand. Warmth pools in your belly once your gaze falls upon the beautiful wizard, your cheeks flushing and your fingers twitching with excitement. The two of you were finally alone, the rest of the camp deep in sleep. You purposely withheld telling Astarion he could feed tonight, hoping you would get a chance to spend the night with Gale. Even if it meant listening to him drone on and on about whatever tome he was enveloped in this week. Pushing yourself up, you stand and quickly tip-toe out of your tent, moving towards Gale. You stop in front of Shadowheart’s tent, listening for her snores and sleep mumbling before continuing your mission. Gale’s eyes move to you when he hears your footsteps approaching and the smile that forms on his lips nearly makes your knees buckle.
“To what do I owe this pleasure?”
His voice is almost a whisper, the worn book snapping closed in his hands and he sets it beside him. He leans back on one hand, his gaze matching yours once you stop in front of him. You look down, almost too embarrassed to speak. You want to turn tail and run back to your tent like a frightened rabbit. Gale leans forward, eyes trying to find yours and failing. He closes his eyes and focuses. Your tadpole vibrates with excitement, causing you to wince slightly. Your eyes snap to Gale, a look of slight disbelief forming on your features. The wizard, after preaching about not wanting to use the tadpoles for anything other than convincing the cult that we are one of them, is trying to probe your thoughts. Gale opens his eyes, meeting yours and he blushes.
“Now Gale.. Remember the conversation we had about courtesy with Astarion?”
A low chuckle erupts from Gale’s mouth and he quickly slaps his hand over it to silence himself, his legs shifting to a crossed position. Courage bubbles in your throat and you stand your ground, hands fidgeting with the bottom of your nightgown, one foot kicking at the dirt beneath you. The slight glimpse of your plush thighs makes Gale shiver and he tries to keep his eyes on yours.
“I was hoping that I could.. Stay with you. Tonight. If that’s okay. Which it’s perfectly fine if it isn’t. I don’t want to intrude.”
Your words come out jumbled and nervous, your confident stance crumbling to one of anxiety and shyness. Gale’s features soften and his deep eyes widen slightly. He hurries to his feet, brushing his soft brown hair behind one ear, his small silver earring shining in the moonlight. His entire being leaves you breathless and the air gets trapped in your lungs for a moment as you wait for his reply. He extends a hand to you, his look of reassurance softening your posture. You gently slide your hand into his and without words, follow him as he saunters into his tent. The inside of his tent is arranged neatly now, his bedroll centered nicely between stacks of books and pillar candles. Small pots of herbs and empty potion bottles are arranged nicely on a tiny round table, a single lantern dimly lit amongst the decor. You notice a few pillows arranged in almost a nest on top of his bedroll, a soft looking blanket folded in the middle. He smiles at you, gesturing towards the nest and you oblige, settling yourself into one side of it, leaving a perfect space for him.
“I was honestly hoping you’d join me. There’s something I wanted to talk to you about.”
Fiddling with the clasps on the tent flaps, Gale closes you off to the outside world, turning to look at you. He sits beside you, moving the folded blanket to the side for now. You clasp your hands together, unsure of where else to put them and he eyes your fingers, reaching out to release one of your hands just to capture it in his. He uses his free hand to tilt your chin towards him, eyes meeting yours with a gaze so intense you feel like you might implode. That familiar warmth pools within you again, this time much lower. You adjust your position, legs stretched out in front of you now, but crossed tightly. His fingers trace the smooth line of your jaw, thumb moving up to gently press against your bottom lip. He gives it a gentle tug downward and releases it, your lip snapping back into position. His breathing is heavy, the hand holding yours trembling lightly.
“I have ached for you.. every day. For weeks now. Every battle we fight together, every night when you’re bathing in the river or brushing your hair before bed. I ache for you. Yearn for you. I want you in ways I’ve never wanted another soul.”
Your breath catches in your throat, nearly choking you out as his words dance off of your ears. You squeeze his hand and wait for a response. His fingers tighten around yours and you can’t help but smile, your heart fluttering beneath your ribs. He felt it too. That yearning you’ve held down since you pulled him out of that portal that first day on the beach. The want to hold him tightly when Elminster warned of his grim fate, had he chosen to ask Mystra for forgiveness. You let out a sigh, leaning forward to press your foreheads together and you whisper quietly to him, your breath ever so slightly grazing his parted lips.
“I’ve yearned for you too, Gale. To feel your skin pressed to mine. To know you in ways no other has known you. To love you the way the gods love.”
Without hesitation, Gale’s lips crash to yours, sending your heart up in flames. His hands move up to cup your scorching cheeks, doing everything he can to pull you in closer, to devour you. Your hands find purchase on the front of his velvet shirt, grasping at the fabric for dear life. Momentarily breaking the kiss, Gale tugs his shirt up and over his head, tossing it behind him with reckless abandon. He gently shoves you to your back, your head hitting the mound of pillows perfectly place behind you. Nervous fingers fumble with the hem of your nightgown, giving it occasional pushes upward, testing the waters. You nod up at him, his frame now towering over yours. Without hesitation, he uses his knee to part your thighs, sitting between them as his hands work your nightgown up over your hips. You shudder at his touch and clamp your teeth down on your lower lip, holding back any noises that threaten to escape you. The warmth in your core now burns like the fires of Avernus, your arousal evident. Gale’s eyes widen at the sight of you, no underwear, and you giggle quietly.
“I didn’t expect anything.. but I wanted to be prepared just in case.”
A quiet groan slips from Gale’s lips as he leans down to press gentle kisses along your abdomen. Your breath hitches and you buck your hips upwards, chasing the kisses when his lips leave your skin. Your hands snake into his soft locks and you give them a gentle tug when his tongue begins to trace shapes into your mound.
“Gale..”
He smirks at the sound of his name, your arousal only fueling him further. His tongue dips lower, quickly slipping through your folds, his fingers now digging into the plush meat of your thighs. With one swift movement, he slides his body lower, his stomach now on the ground and he pushes your legs up and over his shoulders, exposing your heat to him. He growls, his breath coasting along your now slick folds. One hand leaves your thigh, swiping through your folds to collect your wetness before settling into your cunt, resting there to allow you to adjust. You let out a whimper, your back arching off of the bedroll, hands still tangled in his hair. After a moment of stillness, he adds a second finger, giving you a gentle stretch before pumping both digits in and out, his lips latching to your clit. He sucks feverishly, his hips grinding into the ground to appease the angry erection in his leggings. You groan at the feeling and lift your hips slightly, pressing yourself into his face, begging for more. His tongue licks long, slow stripes over your clit, your climax rapidly building in your core. Your entire body shivers with electricity. Pumping his fingers faster, he chases your release, listening for your reactions as he presses deliciously into that spongey spot within your walls. You gasp for air, bucking your hips up one last time before pure ecstasy spills over your being, your bones catching fire as you ride the waves of your orgasm.
“Just like that, my love.. You sound so beautiful, cumming for me.”
Gale slips his fingers out of your heat, trailing sloppy, wet kisses up your torso and to your neck. He sits up on his knees, erection clearly begging to burst from his leggings. You struggle to catch your breath, your walls still fluttering from your climax. He presses his used fingers to his lips, tongue flicking out to clean your juices from them. He keeps his eyes locked on you the entire time and he smirks at your clearly restless state. He stands, carefully sliding his leggings off and his cock springs out and up, hitting his stomach. You groan at the sight, mouth watering.
“Are you ready for me, darling?”
You bite down on your bottom lip and nod, lids lowering slightly. He kneels down once more, swiftly bringing your legs up to wrap around his waste. You raise your arms and rest them on his broad shoulders, fingers twirling the ends of his hair. You both take a moment to drink each other in, the body heat radiating between you being enough to warm the tent entirely. This moment feels perfect. Pure. It’s what you’ve been waiting for since you met this sweet Wizard that now towers above you. You spent many nights in your tent, hand between your legs, fantasizing about Gale’s fingers inside of you. His lips against your ear, coaching you through your orgasm. You shudder slightly at the memories and Gale chuckles, leaning down to press sweet kisses all over your face. He lifts his head once more and looks into your eyes, a look of need enlarging his pupils. You nod, giving him the approval he was looking for. He lines his hips up with yours, pressing the weeping tip of his cock to your entrance. You freeze. Gods, he feels huge. With a slight movement of his hips, he slides into you. Filling you up completely. You wait until he bottoms out before beginning to roll your hips against him, earning a soft grunt. He smirks and sits up, tugging your hips deliciously close before thrusting into you. He presses in as far as he can before sliding out slowly, leaving just the tip inside. He repeats this slow process, making you whine and squirm.
“Gale please.. I need..”
“You need what, my love?”
Your pale face flushes a deep shade of red. Without warning, Gale slams his hips into you once, pulling out almost entirely.
“Gods, I need you to fuck me. Please… I can’t take it anymore.”
Gale wastes no time quickening his pace, the loud sound of skin slapping against skin filling the tent. Deep down you hope the rest of the camp doesn’t hear you, but you also can’t be bothered to care. Gale lifts your legs to his shoulders now, the new angle allowing him to plow deeper into your aching cunt. Sweat beads form on his forehead as he thrusts, his orgasm building deep within him. Gale earns long, loud moans from you with every thrust, only fueling him to fuck into you harder, deeper, faster. His hair sticks to his face as he works. His movements begin to become more erratic, his orgasm threatening to explode out of him. He lowers your legs to his hips, making them wrap tightly around him and he presses his forehead to yours. One hand rests on the bedroll beside your head while the other reaches between your bodies, finding your swollen clit. He rubs agonizingly pleasurable circles into it, making that familiar heat build quickly in your core. You let out a loud moan, slapping your hand over your mouth to muffle it. Gale sighs, closing his eyes for a moment to focus on the movement of his hand and his hips. Your legs tremble around him, almost falling to his sides as your climax grows nearer and nearer with each circle of his fingers and thrust of his hips. Both of your hands reach up to find Gale’s shoulders, nails digging into the skin there. He grunts at the sting, driving harder into you. He opens his eyes, lifting his head slightly so he can look directly into yours. Tears sting at the corners of your eyes as you’re overcome with a feeling of pure bliss. Gale lets out a shaky breath.
“I love you, Tav. Gods, I love you..”
Without warning, he spills into you, cock twitching as he spews his seed deep into your walls. You cry out as your orgasm overtakes you and you cling to Gale’s warm body, riding out the waves as he whispers affirmations into your ear. You both collapse into the bedroll, bodies sweaty and trembling. Gale tugs the blanket up and over the two of you, pulling your backside closely to his chest. Your chest heaves during your comedown and you giggle to yourself, brushing some hair out of your eyes. Gale presses soft kisses to your shoulder and allows his lips to linger there. Sleep begins to invade your brain, your breaths beginning to slow. Before you both doze off for the night, you whisper to him.
“I love you too, Gale.”
He tugs you impossibly close, arms snaking around your torso. His chin rests comfortably over your shoulder and sleep finds you both quickly, your snores joining those of the rest of the camp.

Edit: Please checkout my reblog, I didn’t articulate myself very well in this and come across as a massive dick. Sorry about that, seriously. I am legitimately curious as to the reasons behind the positive Ascended Astarion interpretations/what in the text makes people feel that way.
Okay I read something about this over the weekend and it’s been bothering me since because I feel like people are missing the point.
People were upset it felt like BG3 was forcing you into the role of a victim if you ascended Astarion during your romance. They were insistent they and their character HAPPILY and WILLINGLY ascended him and would be more than happy with him and his behaviour after. Which, don’t get me wrong, can be true.
You can very happily ascend Astarion and give him the power he wanted and support him throughout. It doesn’t stop the fact he’s going to abuse your character and that your character is going to become a victim. Because that’s the point. That’s what the whole deal with the characters are, finding freedom from unhealthy relationships of some kind. Astarion’s specifically touches on the cycle of abuse. Cazador abused Astarion and the other vampire spawn, and maybe Astarion isn’t making you eat rats and locking you in coffins, but he’s still abusing you. He will always have power over you if he ascends and he will never treat you as or respect you as an equal. He will isolate you and ignore your wishes and treat you as an object, because ascending him continues that cycle. He doesn’t respect you if you ascend him.
I’m not faulting anyone that ascends him, it’s not something I would do but that doesn’t mean you’ve done a bad or are “playing wrong.” There’s no wrong way to play the game, especially if they give you the option. I am saying, however, that regardless of how happily someone ascends Astarion and how much they support it they’re still going to become a victim. Even if it’s not right away, it will happen because ascending Astarion continues the cycle of abuse, just in a different form.

Hey! I'm Jamie/Spiral/Fox and i write things sometimes!
You can find me @/spiralsystem on Ao3!
This blog will mainly work with requests, as my main fics that I'm working on will be posted directly to archive.
For x reader requests I will likely use the pronoun "you" over "they" (I just think it's fun)
HOW TO SEND A REQUEST: please send the pairing you want, any tropes or whatever (not obligatory), and pick from one of 3:
- Headcanons: a quick page of headcanon points
- Drabble: quick blurb between 200-500 words
- Short fic: 1000-3000 words
Please don't be shy with requests!
Request types I will take:
X GN!Reader
X Male!reader
X Trans!reader
Character x character
Main fandoms I'll currently write for:
Baldur's Gate 3
911/911 Lone Star
Dishonored
Ace Attorney
Vocaloid/Project Sekai Colourful Stage
Critical role seasons 1 & 2
Dc
Jujutsu Kaisen
Genshin Impact
All For The Game
& Many more!
More about my writing under the cut so this doesn't get super long :)
Views on shit for writing: I reaaallly don't subscribe to the whole concept of proship/antiship. I take requests on what I'm comfortable writing.
I DO accept nsfw requests, but only within appropriate age ranges. I am comfortable writing age gaps but please dm me and i'll write something on a different site, same with any other typically "taboo" requests. I will not release a "will not/will write" list because that's just inviting problems.
If you'd like nsfw x a minor!character, please specify in the ask if you are also a minor. If there is no age, I will deny the request. I won't write underage smut for adults. I also probably won't push it past an M rating.
Minors I write for:
ProSeka: Honestly realistically most of these characters are minors, but like we don't all know teenagers aren't celibate. Vocaloids don't canonically have ages but since they're all kinda minor-coded, I'll just stick to M max for proseka.
Genshin - Qiqi and Klee, Sayu, and Yaoyao. Diona is NOT a minor, she runs a bar 🙄. Bennett/razor/fischl/anybody who uses the "teen model" I consider 18 at least.
Ace attorney - pearl, trucy. If you want ema I'll write her as her older self unless specified, sorry.
9-1-1: I'll write any of the kids as a side accessory to their parents, unless you want a Gen piece about the kids. I love writing Chris & Denny :)
Dc: Ages are played with a lot in DC, so any characters that are generally accepted as minors/adults will be treated as such. I.e: Damian Wayne, Jon kent will be treated as kids unless you specify a universe where they're older (like when Older!Jon came to that one Earth)
BALDUR'S GATE 3:
The ONLY characters I won't write for this are LAE'ZEL and MINTHARA:
Minthara: killed her and saved the tieflings. No real interest in having her as a companion so I haven't seen any content with her.
Lae'zel: get back to me when she doesn't excuse slaughtering and colonizing entire towns lol. I'm native and the gith creche slaughtering the entire temple of lathander (as. As a cleric of lathander also) and she was like 🤷‍♂️ we live here now. I was not cool with that. I also really don't know how to write a romance for someone who is constantly combative towards the player.
BSD: I can only write for the ADA characters + aktugawa because. I have only seen season 1 :,) sorry
Muses & character's I'm great at writing for:
Bg3: Tav, Wyll
911: Eddie, TK
Dishonored: Corvo, Outsider (and Garett from Thief 2014)
Ace Attorney: Edgeworth, Klavier, Apollo, Clay, Simon, Diego
Vocaloid/Proseka: Len, VFlower, GUMI, Shiho, Toya, Mafuyu, Mizuki
Critrole: Percy, Vax, Caleb, Jester
DC: batfam, superfam, flashs & rogues gallery, teen titans, young justice
JJK: Gojo, Nanami, Itadori, Inumaki, Fushiguro
Genshin: Diluc, Zhongli, Alhaitham & Kaveh (and 4ggravate), Traveler twins, Pantalone, Wriothesley
AFTG: Neil, Aaron, Jean

i feel like the conversation gets derailed when people hyperfocus on "but it's an interesting plot!” and bg3 the game, when the point—at least the one that was originally made in the complaints on here—was that it was odd that they agreed that him ending it all in Act 3 was The Right Ending, and the implications that has when you consider how they treat gale versus all the other characters, as well as how they use their treatment of their characters to make comments about those social issues in real life. people weren't upset that they were presented with that rp choice or that such an ending even exists for him; they were upset by the comments of the creators and how they would never say such a thing for gale's mirror, aka a certain vampire. you brought up good arguments to that anon and i don't mean to discount either of your statements i really don't, but people were upset by what the creators specifically said which was yeah in many ways that is the right ending. sorry for continuing to discourse and vent in your inbox lol this isn't directed at you i just liked reading your thoughts so far because you said it better than i could have. i just really don't like how "but it's interesting and not every story has to be happy" and "you're just too attached to gale" get thrown out as rebuttals when that's really neither here nor there and doesn't address the actual issue being raised.
hello! thanks for your thoughts. and yeah, the discourse on this topic has gotten pretty…difficult to engage with, in a sense. that’s what prompted my first post on the topic actually—eagle eyed readers of my posts might find another one where i complained about the discourse only to follow up with a long winded treatise lolol. but i did it because i felt the conversation was lacking a specific viewpoint, so be the change you want to see in the world and all that. i’ve actually really appreciated the responses from everyone on the post/follow up! :)
as a proud galemancer i deeply feel the frustration of all of us. on a personal level, this sucks. i love our wizard boy and he deserves better! the complaints and anger make sense to me. the writers treating him so glibly is rough, but before i talk about it i always try to remind myself of what IS there—which is a really interesting story about a gentleman with some complex flaws, motives, and goals. the writers talking about which ending is “right” cannot take that away, and you should feel comfortable disagreeing with the writers!
to my fellow gale enjoyers and galemancers—i would encourage you to maintain a critical lens but also to continue to enjoy and mine out the richness that is there. sure, that’s a rosy and maybe naive view, but don’t allow the frustration to infect your enjoyment of an amazing character. i am not saying to settle for less, but if you can’t think of gale without despairing at his treatment, you should step away from the conversation for a moment to refresh yourself before you get too stuck in the bog. it’s healthy to remind yourself why you’re here—because you think a wizard is really really cool. he’s got one of the most fulfilling and interesting romances in the game, the unique scenes with him are gorgeous, and he’s an incredible character.
i actually have additional criticisms about how they handled other characters in this game. it’s funny, but a common knee-jerk reaction people have when they read criticism of something is that the critic must not like the writing or the game, so they automatically jump in to argue on that point. on the contrary, a lot of criticism comes from a place of genuine support and appreciation for writing, game design, and narrative structure. but you’ll see a lot of backlash from people misinterpreting that idea or taking criticism personally, so that’s why i’m always careful to state my positives and that i truly love this game. it’s as much a reminder to me as it is a declaration to others. i’m not here because i want to hate on larian. i’m here because i want to chat about stuff to the internet machine and maybe people like you and the other anon(s) will say some interesting stuff back to me.
the right kind of discourse is actually healthy for a fandom because it keeps ideas flowing and circulating, and lets us commiserate together. however, i might just be relaxed because people have been really civil to me so far hahaha.
anyway, thanks again for your ask! hope you have a good one.

Okay, so you said positive reinforcement helps with your writing, so buckle up. "Pieces"-- Literally the level of writing I aspire to be at. It's SO. WELL. DONE. Including the latest chapter and I'm sure the rest will be amazing, too. "Party Favours"-- my number one comfort fic of all time. I go back and reread it CONSTANTLY, any time I need a bit of a pick-me-up. Also the kiss scene in the hallway is THE HOTTEST THING I HAVE EVER READ IN MY LIFE. "Bleeding Heart"/ "An Honest Lie"-- You write Rosalie with so much love that it has made ME love her (so much so that I'm a little like "move over Astarion, she's out of both of our leagues but I know how to treat her right") and I reread chapters all the time. The dialogue alone is top notch. Lastly, I mean, I know NOTHING about Dragon Age or Shadow and Bone but I MUST LEARN so I can read the rest of your stuff. You're so incredibly talented. Every writer has their anxieties and insecurities so it's understandable and obviously valid that you have them too, but *takes you gently by the shoulders* YOU ARE SO GIFTED. And we are all super grateful for you sharing your gift with us. So thank you. So so much!
thank you anon, this message was very kind and the bit about Rosalie made me laugh - nothing like making an OC who stews in self-hate and then watch her get a line of suitors and still be like "I do not see it 😔". (and then going to therapy and my therapist staring at me meaningfully and I simply reply: "I do not see it😔".)
i appreciate the positive reinforcement. I've since realised that I got a little lost after chapter 19 of Pieces, because it was this massive plot point I'd been building up to, and while it had been really scary at the time and I felt a lot of pressure to get it right, the pressure did at least help to guide me forward and give me something to aim for. I've now got to find something new to aim for! While I know what the ending of the fic is, it's back to meandering my way to get there rather than having every single scene hammered down. Idk, I think possibly I am burned out and so things may slow down for a while? But I'm glad of the reminder that people enjoy my writing and I will hopefully have more updates for people soon xx
(also, don't learn about Shadow and Bone, don't do that to yourself, don't let netflix hurt you like that. Dragon Age is however BG3's spiritual predecessor so if you need more fantasy games with romance options you should buy it immediately x)

Storytime!
(TW: brief mention of self-harm, and uhh...idk if this is a trigger, but I'll be talking about my shit relationship with my parents/husband). I'll be honest, I'm anxious about writing this, but...idk maybe this long-winded rambling will make some sense to someone out there. Hoping the catharsis of writing this shit out will be therapeutic or something. Anyway, I am 37. My parents are at least a generation older than most of my peers' parents. (They are boomers...big shocker lol). I grew up with a TON of spicy mental and emotional trauma, and was brainwashed into believing that I could not do a damn thing unless they told me to. I was worthless without them. Even now, as an adult, I struggle with this shit. Grateful for having a good therapist to help me thru it all. Because of my parents I was robbed of a potential singing career, a creative writing career, and a music production career. They paid for college that I didn't wanna go to, and started having thoughts of self-harm that went ignored. "I just want ONE of my kids to go to college..." said my mother. I muddled my way through with the help of my (at the time) BF. I ended up with a rushed Management degree I barely graduated with, and all of my hopes and dreams left to die. So, it's been approximately 18 years since I have written *anything*. I stopped reading fan fics, stopped creative writing in any capacity because i was told it wouldn't put food on the table, and wasn't worth the time spent. I struggle to sing in front of ppl because i am afraid of making mistakes. Imposter syndrome is cranked up to 11. BG3 has given me something to focus on, and enjoy these days. I have been in a romance-less relationship with my husband (the BF from college) for 16 yrs now, and I'm...unhappy. Romancing a fictional character has tapped into the part of my brain that is STARVING for emotional fulfillment. I got little love and affection from my parents, and my husband is not at all romantic. I do far more for him than he does for me. So, I have rediscovered fanfics and they truly give me joy. Those fanfics sparked the creativity that I used to have 18 yrs ago. I actually had the *desire* to write something again. I forgot what it felt like to take an idea and write about it. What's really sad is that a fictional character (Gale) treats me (well, my Tav) better than my own husband treats me. So, now I have something to write about. I get to imagine what it would be like if I were my Tav, and I got the romance that I wished I had. It took me playing BG3, and accidentally romancing Gale on my 1st playthrough to realize that there *are* people out there who can actually be this sweet and romantic, and I deserve better. I wish I could save scum the last 16 yrs of my life, but still have the wisdom I have today. Since I can't do that, I'll read and write the fluffy shit that I live and breathe for, and figure out how to leave my husband without a job, a car, and terrible credit. ...and it took a damn video game character to bonk me over the head, and finally realize I deserve so much more than I currently have. Thank fuck that I am in therapy.

Popping in to check up on you and rest of anons 🫶🏻
My last few days have been spent on playing bg3 almost exclusively and I'm still on act 1 cause I'm taking it super slowly even though I'm sure I have like over 40 hours in the game?? I'm close to act 2 and super excited for it actually because I'll get to officially be with my sweetheart Astarion and I'll get to romance Halsin too!! But u already developed relationship with Astarion, Gale and Laezel and I'm close to romance with Shadowheart and Wyll. But I do always choose Astarion first and foremost and he's the one I'm planning on ending up with 🫶🏻
How are you though? I hope you're doing well and that life has been treating you well
-🔮
Hello sugar!!!! I’m so glad you’re enjoying yourself take all the time and take advantage of the ride! Istg id go at a snail pace as well 😭 I’ve always loved that about let’s player, those who actually explore the game rather than burn through it

Hey! Agree that erasure sucks big time. As a lesbian, I very often see that devs make every character in a game bi, with no lesbian rep at all. That puts me in a difficult situation when I want to respect bi people but also want to have rep of my own. :(
Though I admit, I can kind of read a bit of a tongue-in-cheek comment into this message (which could just be me feeling defensive in general over this topic, I'm fully aware that I am and definitely mean no ill will towards you), but I'll take you at face value on this and assume you meant no ill will either lol.
Honestly, I'll definitely always agree that there need to be more canonically queer characters and experiences portrayed of every orientation and gender, only I'd definitely argue that bisexuality specifically is kind of in a unique position where it's... it's so often used purely as a game mechanic that, despite its theoretical existence in a narrative, it can often, and to many players, not even be interpretable as any sort of real representation either. Especially with how many games, past and present, kind of conceal their characters' queerness behind the players' intentions to seek it out (basically treating them as "straight until proven gay"), which often implies monosexuality (at the lack of a better term) in the text regardless of the existence of another mechanic, even if the character could technically be considered bisexual.
There is a very clear difference in my mind (and in the minds of -as far as I can tell- the majority of other bisexual players) between characters being canonically bi, and them being mechanically bi, in that in that the latter case, you can often play and engage with, or even romance characters without ever needing to acknowledge them as anything other than monosexual (again, lacking a better concise term) in a way that happens to coincide with your PC's sexuality. They can be seen as gay if you're the same sex, and as straight if you're not. But in BG3 specifically, even though the dialogue with the player themselves doesn't really seem to address the companions' sexuality head-on (you can't, like, walk up to Wyll and ask him "so, hey man, what's, like, your.... whole deal, or whatever?", you have to listen to him and connect the dots), it IS really nice, and a nice change of pace that this is not a thing. That no queer content is hidden behind "the gay button", that you aren't limited to being exposed to their queerness while in a romance with them, and that you cannot, literally cannot, play the game in a way that would make the world less queer, or make it seem like the characters are merely adapting to the gender of the player character.
Because they all hit on-, or express attraction to at least a few others regardless of gender, without it immediately implying anything beyond them all just... being attracted to people of different genders.
I watched this slightly older video essay by verilybitchie just a little while ago that went into this exact thing in a lot more detail, and I honestly recommend it to everyone. Since the video is two years old now, she of course doesn't address BG3 specifically (I'd love to hear her thoughts on it though! the end note where she talks about how excited she is for what might be coming next really warmed my heart!), but otherwise it's a good runthrough of my thoughts and experiences on- and with the issue as well.
youtube
(And, to be honest.... as a side note, romancing a bi character is.... still respectful, if you play your own character as monosexual? Like I do that all the time too, so that part of your message... kind of confused me?
Like... the only way romancing, say, Karlach for example as a woman can be considered in any way disrespectful to us bi people, is if you play that in an angle that erases her bisexuality, simply because she happens to be in a same-sex romance in your game. But that's less an issue of representation in the game itself imo, and more just... this strictly theoretical player themselves being at least a little bit biphobic and erasing her sexuality based on the gender of her partner, even if that isn't their intention.)

okay i did it!! i bought bg3 (been playing it nonstop since yesterday) and i suck at it. it’s on the easiest difficulty and i still suck. oh and i’m pretty sure astarion doesn’t like me very much. i don’t suppose you’d have any tips for me ?? pretty please <333
oh nooo!!! i mean hell yes to buying the game but oh no as for thinking you suck!! i promise you certainly don't. no one has a perfect first playthrough (not even the voice actors involved in the game... i'm looking at you, neil.)
my biggest tip with astarion is he's a chaos gremlin. the funniest and most chaotic options usually gain your approval with him. however, the biggest things that will influence you romancing him will be key scenes to his quest specifically! so once he starts approaching you about.... things, or reveals more about himself, just be kind to him <3 don't treat him like a monster, respect him and his autonomy, etc etc.
as for actual game play, try to have fun with it! if you really screw something up and it bothers you, don't be afraid to save scum. i always joke that f5 and f8 are my most powerful spells lol. the game is a lot more enjoyable if you lean into the RP'ing aspect and really focus on 'what would my character do?'
(if all else fails, at this point, there are romance and approval guides online. i didn't seek them out initially because i wanted to see what would happen and just got lucky that i was certainly playing for the bit and that that aligned with astarion so often. and if you have any specific issues or questions i'm always down to offer my advice although idk how helpful i am haha)

I just finished the new epilogue! I enjoyed it a lot! Long thoughts about videogame storytelling mechanics generally but also the epilogue too:
Honestly, what a treat. It is so difficult not to be charmed by this game over and over, and the love Larian keeps pouring into it. And while we could 'well actually' about how the original ending was rushed and how all of this stuff should have been in there from the jump or that we should actually also be getting all of the cut content and all of that - I mean, I wouldn't be UNHAPPY if they restored more cut stuff and kept giving us more and more and more - but I can't find it in me to be too upsetti spaghetti with anything we're 'missing' now, as of getting the epilogue, the way that something like the ending of Mass Effect 3 made me...upsetti spaghetti with meatballs. And maybe it's because BG3 landed on me in a different time in my life, or maybe it's because even though it's technically a sequel in a series, it didn't wind me up with anticipation the way the finale of a firmly stated trilogy did. In any case I guess right now I just feel content. BG3 has been a precious and joyful journey, little bugs, snags and all.
(Except with the way spawn Astarion gets treated when the sun lands on him at the docks, that's still so fucking rude, but being able to see him thriving in the epilogue soothes that hurt.)
But! the epilogue being set after a time skip also has me thinking about one of the other minor hangups I had about the main story of BG3, that I have largely been happy to forgive since I imagine the challenges of balancing storytelling and videogame mechanics are just, a LOT - but I sometimes felt pacing of things in BG3 was a bit unintuitive? Or unnatural? All of the adventures the party had and the amount of character growth I witnessed seemed miles out of sync with the number of days that I was manually toggling with long rests. This was especially true in my first, doomed playthrough, when I made the rookie mistake of rationing my Long Rests really hard, and I missed out on so so sooo many scenes and completely bungled starting the Astarion romance. It had literally just been a few ‘days’ that my party had known each other when I got to the tiefling party, after all, surely I wouldn’t need to lock in my romance with someone by this 'early game' event? Nevermind how may in-game hours it had been?
(That first playthrough attempt was a disaster for so many reasons, not least of all because I didn’t even find Astarion right away on my first attempt searching the beach. Complete dumpster fire. While I think I am grateful that I skipped EA so the whole story could be fresh to me, I still wonder if having a quick jog through the Act 1 map before committing to a 'real' playthrough would have spared my directionally-challenged ass a lot of grief.)
And I don't know how one would go about fixing this 'mismatch' necessarily, or even if it's even altogether important to get hung up on that. It's less of an issue in other games that invent little, blind gaps between events - non-open worlds, where your marker moves along a map between locations of interest and you may imagine to your liking the amount of time that has passed off-stage. Or, games where the day-night cycle occurs independently of your actions. I don't think the latter necessarily suits a game like BG3 where choice is king, but I wonder if there could have been more places to imply time passing 'between' regions, after events... I don't know! Maybe that's not right either. I'm just saying there's no way the owlbear cub should've grown all the way up in what must've been a few actual weeks? Maybe?
ANYWAY, tangent aside - the epilogue is precious, and my major point is that I appreciate that there's a timeskip in there. It really felt like the characters had some realistic space to grow and make personal progress and I'm so happy for all of them. Halsin's duck almost made me cry, guys, for real.
...um. Happy for everyone, except Gale. I really fucked up with Gale in my Tav run. Honestly, he is so fascinating because I simultaneously feel multiple ways about him, and he's been an entertaining challenge to figure out roleplaying around. I like him as a character on paper, and I want wholesome things for him, but this face is how my Tav feels about him even as a god:
Tumblr media
"Fucking wizards, man."
Anyway, I still have to finish my run with my Gale-mancing Durge, so I can look forward to this interaction going better with a regular-flavor Gale when I get there. I was in honesty kinda running out of steam to finish my Durge run, but this new patch is kind of giving me a boost for it.
I'm ALMOST tempted even to do another run just with my old Tav again, maybe on a harder difficultly, for shits and giggles. Or an Origin character run. Or something else! Faerûn is my oyster!

For REN!!
General: 1, 8, 11
Story Specific: 3, 8, 16
Romance: 1,
BG3 Brainrot!!!
General
1. Where can they be recruited?  Are they first encountered on the Nautiloid, or in the Nautiloid crash region?  Or are they not recruitable until a later act?
You come across him late in Act 1 in the Shattered Sanctum, making him easy to miss as one of the characters who is smart enough to nope out if you start going for the three Absolute cult leaders. With all the people mixed up in that area there are numerous reasons he might present for being there, and what you'll get will be subtly tailored to your class, race, background, present companions, and past behaviour... Ignore that failed insight check, it's probably nothing important.
8. What do they say when the Player Character asks them to stay in camp?  How about when the Player Character asks them to come adventuring again? "As you wish. Drag yourself back here when you need healing." / "Whatever you're up to must be a terrible idea if you think I'd be an asset to it. I'm in."
11. Are there any moments in the game that trigger unique dialogue for your character?
Encountering Oliver in the Shadowcursed lands opens up the possibility of some revelations about Ren - namely that he's also got a soul divided between the material plane and the Shadowfell.
Story Specific
3. How do they react to Astarion biting the Player Character?
"I can't believe it took him actually trying to bite you for you to figure it out."
8. Do they have comments on who the Player Character chooses to spend the night with?
Oh he has comments.
On Wyll: I'm sure he'll treat you all too right. Have it pan out just like some bard's tale. What happens to that kind of love when it's played out being a grand romance, I wonder?
On Gale: I see you're not one to be intimidated by someone's previous lovers. I wonder if he will finally learn to love anyone over his love of the Weave.
On Lae'zel: Each to their own. If a fight with no winner is what gets you going, who am I to argue? On Karlach: Noble of you, in a way. But if she finds out she's no more than some high-handed sacrifice on your part, she'll hate you. And if you do want more, she'll hate herself for not being able to give it.
On Shadowheart: I'm sure you think you're very adventurous. And I'm sure she does too. And after your hundreth night drinking wine and both trying to sort out your feelings, you might begin to realise just how bland you both are.
On Astarion: Well I guess I owe him twenty gold now. Oh... never mind that. It's nothing.
16. How do they react to the Dark Urge killing Alfira?
With a concerning level of anatomical knowledge, and an equally concerning lack of discomfort over the whole brutal murder situation. Plus some insight into what kind of person kills that way.
Romance
Are they a romanceable character?  Are there any specific requirements to romancing them?
Yes. No? Maybe. He's a fuckable character. Maybe you'll think you have a romance. Show interest in either or both directions and he will 100% play on it to manipulate you. He's disappearing in the aftermath just the same as if you'd never paid any attention to him at all. If you went for romance and didn't make the insight checks, or chose to ignore the red flags... All that buildup, all those emotional breakthroughs you made, the vulnerability he showed? Utterly false and hollow.
Unlike the other character who attempts this, Ren's stats and background actually support pulling it off.

Hi! I’d love a BG3 matchup if you have the time and energy! If not, feel free to discard this! I also do matchups, so if you’d like one feel free to send it my way!
Here’s my info:
General: Agender, they/them, aroace but I love hypothetical romances and I’m open to any gender in that case! I can’t say much for my appearance, as I have an issue with perceiving my actual appearance that makes it hard for me to know what I look like, apologies for that one.
Personality: I'm a Scorpio, INFJ-T, and in general I'd say I align with those assignments. I'm extremely introverted to the point of being asocial. I spend most of my time by myself, and if I could I'd do everything on my own, since I'm stubbornly independent, and very cautious around people, even those I know well. Despite this, I'm not unfriendly, I just have a really hard time connecting with others due to my social anxiety. I really appreciate people who go out of their way to connect with me, and I make friends with people quickly when I get the chance. Once I get comfy I become very blunt and humorous. I tend to say and do as I please, though never to the detriment of someone else, as I tend to put other's needs above my own. I'll talk for hours about my interests and passions, and I'm always up for a challenge. I also have a very strong moral compass, and I refuse to compromise on it. I try to be kind above all else, especially to those who seem to be in a rough place, as I haven’t always been treated kindly, and I want others to feel loved. I’m known for giving great advice and being a good shoulder to cry on, but I don’t let others take advantage of that. I do well in emergency situations, especially when leadership is needed, but I also tend to crumble under mounting stress, and lash out when upset. Overall I'm determined, creative, and compassionate, but also stubborn, judgmental, and fearful.
Likes: I love horror media and anything deemed unsettling, since things that make me uncomfortable fascinate me. I love animals (especially tarantulas and spiders) and nature, and I spend a lot of time drawing and painting the world around me and taking walks on sunny days. On that note, I’m an explorer, and I tend to get into spaces I shouldn’t be if only because my curiosity got the better of me. I enjoy composing, playing, and listening to music, especially instrumentals, rock, and soundtracks. I also play video games, especially RPGs and FPS games. I’m a boxer and archer, and while I don’t like athletics and sports that much, climbing, running, and adventuring is always fun for me, especially with friends.
Dislikes: Inconsiderate people, especially when they’re not aware of how they’re inconveniencing others. Trutthfully, I can be very judgemental and picky with friends or associates, and if someone annoys me even slightly I tend to disregard them. I also dislike those who are arrogant and cruel, and I have a particular distaste for seafood and being touched.
What I look for in a partner: Someone who is kind and understanding of my flaws, and especially someone with a good sense of humor. I feel like I don’t truly connect with people until we laugh about something together. I value honesty and communication as well, so someone who isn’t willing or can’t be open and vulnerable with me is a no go. As pessimistic as I am, I also believe in doing good and making other people’s days a little bit brighter if possible, so I couldn’t be around a cynic or someone intentionally cruel.
Fun Fact: I like to read medical textbooks, and I find visiting cadaver labs and watching medical procedures thrilling.
~~~~~ MATCH UP ~~~~~
I now present to you your math; they are funny, kind, compassionate, and a person always looking for a good time-----
Tumblr media
Karlach
~~~~~ HEADCANON ~~~~~
Karlach would 100% be okay with being the instigator of all your interactions.
She will sit down with you, and if you ask her, she will describe how you looked in her eyes to help you understand what she sees.
She loves to make you laugh—not just any laugh, a true deep belly laugh. She will do anything to know she has made you the happiest she possibly can.
Karalch went through years of solitude as Zariel's forced right-hand woman, so she understands the need for space and being hyper-independent.
Karlach will always let you lead until you ask her to help you. She knows your morality aligns with her, so she never questions you.
Once Karlach gets her engine worked on and can touch people again, she finds every reason to have a hand, tail, or piece of herself touching you.
She never judges you if you fail or mess something up, she is right there softly comforting you and ready to assist you in anyway necessary to fix the situation.
~~~~~ BLURB ~~~~~
After days of intense terrain and countless enemies, the group rests. With no town or tavern in sight for miles, it was time for good ol' outdoor camping. As everyone set up their tents and cots, the sun started to set past the horizon. Food was served and drinks shared, and many retired for the night, ready to rest for the next steps in the adventure. All who stayed awake with the moon was Astarion on the night shift, you, and Karlach. You and Karlach had an exciting companionship; nothing felt forced or overwhelming. She always attended to your every need and desire as you had them, making you feel light and warm in her presence.
As if feeling you think about her, she made her way over to you, sitting down on the log you were on gently. "Heya love, what's on your mind tonight?" You smiled languidly at your partner and sighed contently. "You know Karlach ever since we got your engined tuned you have been a lot happier, it honestly makes me happy as well, seeing you finally have a life outside of hell fire." Karlach smiled softly at you, enjoying the compliment. She looked towards the sky, leaning back a bit. You also turned your head when you felt something gently wrapping around your arm. Looking down, a dark red tail had laid claim to your wrist.
Laughing gently, Karlach's attention was brought to where you were staring. She ignited slightly, not before removing her appendage first. "Sorry, when tieflings get happy, our tails do weird things." You let your lover cool down before gently grabbing her tail and wrapping it back around you. "It's okay; I like it; it makes me feel like you are always there with me." Karlach smiled wider and moved closer to you. Once in arms reach, she wrapped you in a gentle hug. Pulling away from the embrace, she placed a chaste kiss on your lips.
~~~~~ EXTRA ~~~~~
(One night, just outside of town, your group found a hot spring. Ready to relax for a night and clean yourselves off, the group decided to take turns in the pool of water.)
Shadowheart: This is amazing, honestly. It's just what we all needed, really. I could live in this forever if you let me.
Lazel: This isn't even remotely as hot as some of my mother homes in the astral realm. It feels almost as if we are in a warm bath.
Y/N: This is a nice reprieve from the outside world. We may be on an adventure, but our health should also come into play.
Karlach: Yes, this is worth the pit stop; I have to agree with Lazel. It isn't all that hot. Anyway, I will return to the guys and make sure they haven't scourched our dinner tonight.
(As Karlach leaves the pool, a noticeable temperature shift occurs)
Shadowheart: Well damn, no one tells the boys our little secret.

With all the news of my bg3 campaigns with family and friends, I forgot to announce I finally finished the game my self lmao
Spoilers under the cut
So Sahar, my storm sorcerer ended up sacrificing Orpheus to defeat the Absolute (as in Orpheus became a mindflayer and then Sahar killed him as he was asked to do), respected Karlach's desire to die and was there for her (I cried), romanced both Shadowheart and Halsin and i truly believe in my mind they would visit Halsin, Thaniel and the kids (I finally found where the "they call me Daddy Halsin" comes from!) at every change they get, and adopted the owlbeard cause ofc.
I also was so scared of my allies dying in the last fights I didn't summon most of them LMAO
Only summoned the dragon :v Yurgir and Dame Aylin :D
Very proud of our bestie Astarion for his character development, didn't ascend him cause when I tried I didn't like that he didn't treat me as a friend anymore more like an asset or a pawn (I was fine with the being evil part but why can't we be evil and besties together!?)
Gale is a god lmao cause Sahar definitely do not like deities, in general, he does not believe Gale should have sought forgiveness from Mystra cause screw her but as long as Gale still remembered Sahar and all we did together (unlike Astarion) they approved of Gale becoming a God and he did do that, so grats
I feel betrayed because Mayrina said she was gonna name her kid after me and ended up naming them after her husband 🥲 gurl u were my second fav npc
My fav npc is definitely Arabela, Sahar was like their godparent in magic and felt proud of her (also I love how she calls Sahar "hero person" 😭 adorable)
It really is noticeable how much the pronouns of your character change how they address you specially if you watch cis people play the game and notice the differences when they call them gendered terms, but if you play the game with they/them pronouns it's unnoticed in the best way possible and that's me playing in english, just recently found out that neo pronouns/ neutral pronouns are implemented in the Spanish version as well, I bet that is gonna be more noticeable and if the translation were more neutral spanish or even latam spanish I'd play that version on my own time
I STILL NEED CROSSPLAY AVAILABLE LARIAN!? WHEN AM I GONNA BE ABLE TO PLAY WITH MY FRIENDS WHO ARE ALL ON PC AND I'M THE ONLY ONE ON PS5
The game as solo player is great, but playing with someone else always makes it a better experience imo, and the only way I've been able to do that is transporting my ps5 to my brother's house every Saturday to play with him and his bf 😭 Larian please, I need crossplay
Also bg3 is serving as a snack for my dnd hunger in the meantime cause we haven't been able to play in so long 😭 I have even been creating more dnd ocs, it's crazy

ooh these are good! F or K?
F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom?
Goodness, I love this question. I would argue that I've been in some fandoms since I was 15, but I'm not really active in them, so I don't think it counts.
I think at this moment the answer is probably Rusty Quill Gaming. I wrote my first fic in August 2020 and I am still posting (sporadically)
(I'll answer K too because I like talking)
K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?
I'll give Astarion a little moment to shine here. A combination of the incredible writing talent and Neil's fantastic voice work, Asta's growth throughout BG3 as he finds love and/or friendship and gets the revenge he so richly deserves to find his freedom is so beautiful.
It's truly such a treat to be playing through it again with him as my romance option, to see the little moments that show his hurt and his worry even when he's opening up more, to see him approve of things he wasn't approving of previously, to watch him smile and to plan on bringing him a beautiful life after the death of Cazador truly feels special.
