I can't imagine it will as successful as wesker's chapter but it WILL do well. #also soooo sooo funny to me that bg3 characters being in dbd is now a more legitimate possibility- #-than five nightshifts at fredward's characters being in the game. #I don't think it would happen but I just love to see fans of that stupid game bitch and complain every new chapter release. #they have achieved a truly impressive level of whining. always asking for their jumpscare sim to be in the game. #and you know me! I love robots! I love evil robots! okay I redid the last astarion picture I shared a wip of because it was a) too graphic for its intended purpose b) didn't fit with the more dynamic posing of the other pieces

here is a peak at the new astarion pic & a look at the wyll & lae'zel wips

I might as fucking well do all 6. #I might rework gale's a bit because I'm the least satisfied with his. looks too static. #he and SH are just REALLY hard to work into the theme. not because their stories don't have horror elements to them- #-but because every other companion has the “monster” factor to their character design. while these two do not. #so I have to lean into the body horror as much as I can in way that fits the mood & composition of the other pieces. #interesting and cool thing: wyll is the only companion that isn't facing the viewer head on. #why? because he's wyll fucking ravengard that's why. #every other piece positions the viewer in the place of the companion's victim or as a witness to the torment they are suffering. #or both- in the case of karlach and SH. #but no matter what wyll loses or what torment he undergoes- he doesn't have “victims” in the way other “monster” companions do. #and he would bleed himself dry before letting his suffering specifically be the centre of attention while others are still in need. #so his pose is more “in the heat of battle” turning to look back at a comrade or at someone he is protecting! #sacrificing the cleavage shot for symbolism-- the debatably gayer thing to do. honestly.

I see what people mean when they say that wyll's romance is bugged. it's far worse than I initially thought. adding that to the four other bugs I'm going to report to larian OTL.

oh apparently this doesn't exclude DCs? so you can DC as survivor (or killer, but that's not something higher mmr killers really do all too often) and you will not be penalised with the automatic depip.

I'm going to be kind and give them the benefit of the doubt...perhaps they did this temporarily because they knew updating the game engine would result in many, many problems for players, some of which could lead to players involuntarily being disconnected from the game. because why else would they do this? surely they know, from the times when they've taken away the DC timer penalty, that taking away any penalty results in a higher number of voluntary DCs.

the shitty thing now, which I did not realise before I played, is that taking away depipping means that survivors don't just DC. because why would you? why would you voluntarily take the DC timer penalty, when you can just kill yourself on your first hook and receive absolutely NO penalty at all?? maaaaaaybe they should have removed the timer instead....

wait. what the fuck. they REMOVED depipping??? I mean. I'll take it...but does it mean "after a match" as in the match has FULLY played out, so that a DC still penalises those who abuse the function?

#dbd #thoughts about media #survivors killing themselves on hook is annoying because then the remaining survivors don't even get a bot teammate to replace the quitter. #but I get why some people are doing it. #imagine you get your typical “Map Offering Meg” who kills herself on her first hook. at 5 gens. because things didn't go her way. #she's the kind of player who does this regardless of the penalties in place- just your typical sore loser. #now there's nothing stopping the rest of the team from doing the same. #in fact- the depip penalty being gone ENCOURAGES them to do this instead of simply DCing. #because then they can move onto their next game without taking any penalty at all. no depip. no timer. #and who suffers? people who actually like playing the game! killers especially!

I think I finaaally have a tav designed for every companion. now it's a matter of remaining patient enough to finish each successive campaign and not try to complete 5 at the same time, which would just lead to me becoming overwhelmed.

#bg3 #thoughts about media #I think I've also figured out most of major points of jantar's backstory. #I changed it so The Big Villain who ties cadence to corydalis & illamin is not featured in his story. #I think having one guy be responsible for THAT MUCH would be a bit excessive. #not only that. but this guy has an obsessive desire to ruin corydalis' life in specific. #and there's just no way I can think to tie jantar's backstory to corydalis' that actually makes any sense. #which is fine! I have some ideas for the villain of his story. #more importantly I have other major details figured out. #including that his little sister is going to be one of my 6 tavs. she will be a cleric! #so that means the remaining tavs will be: a bard. a cleric. and a druid. #and I think the respective companion for each tav will be: SH. karlach. lae.

#bg3 #thoughts about media #I'm sure if karlach is there- gort might address her first instead? #I looked at the screenshots from my other playthroughs to see if I had this scene archived. #of course I literally have everything BUT this part. #I mean it makes a ton of sense why gort addresses wyll. #beyond the fact that wyll's father is there- baldur's gate KNOWS who wyll is. the patriars know who wyll is. they know he was exiled. #gort's trying to make wyll feel small and out of place. referring to him as the blade but undermining his heroic image by mentioning- #-his newly acquired fiendish features. also a bit of a brag I think. since gort himself escaped the hells & a devil physically unchanged. #that and I think gortash is like...a perfect mirror opposite to wyll. so to have them at odds over the fate of baldur's gate makes sense. #fits the whole fairy tale theme of wyll's story too. I mean how many stories are there of cheats like gortash being ousted from their- #-unrightful place on the throne by the true heir? the valiant and just prince come to save his people from the cruel lying tyrant? #*sigh* yet another thing that I wish they developed more in wyll's quest. #because this would all feel like a rather complex and complete story if wyll himself is your avatar. #but when he is a companion- I just don't think the quest features enough to make up for him not being the avatar. #I wish there was more of this- more wyll being the focus- more baldurians recognising who he is! it's HIS city after all! #I AM going to enjoy beating the shit out of gortash again though. #he and mizora are on my “top ten video game characters of all time I'd like to see SKINNED ALIVE” list.

#bg3 #thoughts about media #I have to wonder if they considered draconic sorcerer wyll at all... #I don't believe there are really any stipulations for how a draconic sorcerer obtains their power from the dragon. #maybe they DID consider it- but decided against it because they didn't think/didn't have time to make it so that wyll would- #-automatically be the one chosen to speak to ansur were he in the party. that would have been a cool potential path for him honestly! #like if he was in your party- he would get auto-selected to speak to ansur and if you chose certain dialogue options- #-he could gain the powers of a sorcerer! it would work well to build upon the twist in his fairy tale-like story! #is it because of the bad reputation sorcerers have? or because mizora is technically classified as one? #or maybe it's because they didn't want to have wyll and the durge to BOTH be sorcerers. since they're both origins...? #idk. I'm kind of the opinion that durge is somewhat...overrated. I'd rather wyll get the fancy magical dragon powers. #I feel like they should have just...not added durge as a character and focused on REALLY polishing the 6 main origin companions. #because even with a character like star. who has a lot of material-- the writing feels...directionless? at certain points? #in a better world. we would have 6 main characters with more cohesive stories of relatively equal length and complexity. #in a better world. wyll would be treated as THE main of the main characters that he is. he and lae'zel. #they are like the CORE of the story imo.

#dbd #thoughts about media #this is my first hux in months!! #poor lad was just someone trying to do his adept...I'm so sorry stranger...my vicious love is not like any other killer... #he could not manage even one kill. the three ladies with me were clearly a swf and were giving him a run for his beautiful long legs... #I even tried to die for him- but he downed me and brought me to the opened gate. such a kind soul! #but since the lag was so that I could not tell where I actually was on the screen at any given moment- I accidentally left... T___T #my game was freaking out badly...it was a wonder I didn't DC. or the game did not full-on crash. #like someone unhooked claudette in front of me. and from that point on. claudette only remained in that spot on my screen. #she was still running around and doing stuff! but on my screen she was fixed in place! #fortunately the archives challenges are incredibly easy so I did get two survivor challenges done :) #and I SAW A HUX! I heard his sweet voice! that alone has filled my heart with such joy <3

#dbd #thoughts about media #I played one match of survivor just to see if the connection was any better (it's not. still terrible) #and I got a were-elk huntress as my killer... #had no fucking clue what the hell I was hearing when I first heard the lullaby #it was rather confusing and unsettling. as are the intermittent huffing noises it makes...ick.
