ill get the obvious one out of the way first because i keep saying it but this guy is definitely trans. you have to trust me because im always right and i just know. hes gender

medic is definitely a caffeine addict, this guy loves coffee and will drink it at any given opportunity. he likes tea as well but nothing is as satisfying as coffee. the way it smells is great, tastes great and highly customizable, excellent to have with chocolate or pastries, and he likes the way it makes him feel. hes trying to figure out why he can down a whole pot of coffee and still fall asleep, yet his body does seem to have some sort of a reaction to it? results pending

speaking of food and drinks, hes got a bit of a sweet tooth. he loves sugar (in moderation of course, but you wont catch him turning down a slice of cake every now and then). however he doesnt like anything TOO sweet. certain kinds of frosting or desserts are just ridiculously sugary and paired with his sensory issues some sweets would be a little unbearable. i think one time sniper offered him some fairy bread and he felt nauseous. other than that though, generally speaking he loves various pastries and candies and especially chocolate. hed be a big fan of the cherry + chocolate combination and, again, anything involving coffee.

he gets bored super easily. medic likes to have his whole day planned out and always needs to be doing something, even if its something small, otherwise hes pretty convinced he might actually genuinely die of boredom. you cant leave him alone without an Activity for too long or hes going to start thinking about killing people (he thinks about killing people a lot actually.... but thats besdies the point).

last one, just because i could genuinely keep going for hours but i have to stop somewhere, he loves going on long walks out in the middle of nowhere. he invites the other mercs to come with him from time to time but theyve all learned by now that when he says hes taking 'a short walk' he really means that they wont be back at base for at least another hour or two minimum. he likes keeping track of the best paths, bird watching, and collecting cool things he finds along the way

okay all seriousness tho imma try to do this in a way thats like idk semi respectful towards janeway but i also need yall to know i do NOT reallyf fuck with her. idk if ive explained why before but i guess here we go

unlike most people that enjoy star trek i didnt really get into it till 2018 and then the demmy hit n i had nothing but time to consume every star trek imaginable and thats how i found voyager. yeah sure make fun of me for not knowing what star trek is but i need YALL to know that it is white and usamerican culture to be raised on trek and I DONT CARE. the only reason i got into star trek is bc a white friend introduced me. all this to say i was introduced to janeways actress through oitnb red ilu so much red best evil white lady <3

anyways i know janeway gets hate for having been the only lady captain and i always preface anything i say about her with this so yall understand that this is not the reason i dislike her but in reality it doesnt help either

also its tiring as fuck to include my opposing argument but it has to be done bc ppl are like “what about- pkay but you didnt consider how- yeah but- actually youre wrong bc-“ like fuck man im doing my damndest i literally hate voicing my opinions bc yall INSIST people of color dont actually get it n its tiring

if youve followed me since i started voyagerposting you may have noticed ive only actually drawn janeway twice and its cuz as a person she rubs me the wrong way for so many reasons

janeway gets put in this impossible position of being the top of the hierarchy pyramid to a crew that doesnt think theyll ever make it home again. shes deemed a mother figure by a LOT of characters but im gonna talk abt her dynamics with b’elanna, and seven because if i were to talk about the dynamics between janeway and harry thatd have to be its own post

when i get into a show, i loooveeee knowing what was happening behind the scenes because i love it!! i love set design i love character design i love costume design i love seeing what the actors are like outside of the show and how they feel about these characters bc these things ARE important. (writers too pero i have beef) behind the scenes is the biggest influence to the final product bc its the reason the final product exists in the first place and behind the scenes so many things went wrong. and when actors are mistreated or dont get along with eachother it becomes pretty apparent. well at least if you analyze things the way i do

so heres my issue with janeway seven and b’elanna. b’elanna is typecast to be the ugly character. klingons gave always gotten the short end of the stick and the case with her isnt as harsh bc her actress is a mixed puerto rican (information that has actually only recently been revealed bc when i tried to find out what roxan’s ethnicity was in 2019 i literally could not find anything definitive except for shes latina) but she STILL gets a lot of shit

one of my favorite things about voyager before the introduction of seven was how b’elanna and janeway actually got to bond a lot over science and when seven took on the roll of pretty girl on the ship, b’elanna and janeway suffered a LOT for it. we have an interesting dynamic between a maquis engineer and a federation captain genuinely not getting along bc b’elanna doesnt see janeways as an authority figure. not until chakotay has something to say about it and also until b’elanna and janeway actually talk about shit n get over their differences. the issue is when ppl purposely skip the earlier seasons to get to seven and then a lot of important interpersonal character building is missed I SAY THIS BC PEOPLE OFTEN FORGET THAT VOYAGER HAS BEEN ASSIMILATED BY THE BORG BEFORE AND EVEN THE WRITERS LET IT SLIP THEUR MIND N ITS LIKE BRO U HAVE GOLD TO WRITE WITH N U JUST LET IT COLLECT IN THE CORNER

seven is a unique and interesting character when she is first introduced. seven looks like any other borg and is so COOL. and then immediately all the cool interesting things about the way seven looks is basically negated to a few shiny parts. and yes janeway is partly to blame

BUT! what is the easiest way to gain the trust of people who already have bad history with who you once were? assimilation of course! seven goes from being one of many to the outcasts outcast

but punkbxt! what does any of this have to do with why you dislike janeway as a character? if anything it sounds more like you dislike seven. as long as the character is white ill always hold a lil disdain for them in my heart <3

janeway symbolizes the best of starfleet. she is an accredited officer and an extremely capable scientist. she is a beautiful white woman in THE position of power something that was revolutionary for her time. the issues with white women being put in positions of power is they they have NEVER had the interests of black and brown people to heart. “yes they-“ SHUT UP and let me speak before you decide to comment on this goddamn post

feminism throughout the centuries has focused on white women and while a show is merely a fraction of the lived reality of its time the effects are still extremely clear. white feminism JUMPED at the character of janeway and celebrated her and rightfully so! the issues came about when women like b’elanna got attacked and pushed to the side. this directly affected janeway within fandom and she got and still is recognized for accomplishments SHE DID NOT DO. she got put on a pedestal and once that happens to a character they suddenly can do no wrong. except she does because shes a human and shes white and shes a character with writers behind her

b’elanna has never actually been a super popular character and the wave of love for her is actually pretty fucking recent and not to toot my own horn but i definitely was a big part of the b’elanna love resurgence. when i got into voyager and these dates ARE important, i used to scroll through her entire tag easily a couple times through a DAY. fans occasionally created art for her and yeah! she got fics but nowhere in comparison to her other peers. surrounding yourself with people who also love her and want to create for her does help with recognition of b’elanna but its super recent stuff. and to add onto that any white fan that has an opinion about her will always be biased because they just do not understand what it is like to exist as a latina woman of color

this is where me myself and i come into the story because wowowowowow star trek is so cool! star trek preaches on and on and on about diversity love acceptance hate oppression and all that good stuff so who wouldnt love it??? and then??? OMG THERES A LATINA CHARACTER IN ONE SERIES OMG OMG OMG. imagine my disappointment when i found out that she a main character barely was getting any love. it hurt. because even within a narrative of inclusion somehow characters of color just seem to always be pushed to the side. especially when a fandom has such a majority percentage of white people

watching her story was SO personal to me. i could see myself in her struggling with living in america. i lived my childhoods in puerto rico and in many different parts of usamerica, surrounded by family and people like me until that wasnt the case anymore. i spent my life living as a nomad with no place to call home for on average no less than a year and no more than three. i could understand b’elanna with her struggles of living in a klingon monastery and then being thrust into an unforgiving and unaccepting world where humans/white people are the most important. the internalized racism that i grew up with was horrendous and to this DAY i am still trying to learn and better myself and connect with my culture in any way i can. because in a black ans white world, where is the space for those of us that dont fall under either? we are ignored and erased and with b’elanna is has been the same

the rejection b’elanna had to her klingon side was something i could relate to incredibly. but it still isnt enough. because even though i could connect with her through her klingon-ness, her latinidad is simply a label. throughout the show you see her change and grow and assimilate to the federation standard and it HURT. the narrative that i was directly picking up from her story was yeah you can be a part of the club but only if you do it how we want you to do it. and dont you EVER even talk about being latino unless its to shit on your deadbeat of a father. and i did. i learned how to adapt at an extremely young age. ive been told its one of the things i do best (sad isnt it?)

and okay how do seven and janeway have anything to do with this? well they are the white women who we literally have to conform to and for. thats it period

seven as a character had an amazing opportunity to challenge gender and sexuality because of her story (one that would have been better suited had she been an indigenous woman which ive spoken on before but thats for another post too) and then the people in charge decided that she just HAD to be the sexywoman instead of leaning into just how much she was no longer human and how humanity itself doesnt actually have one right way to be

this narrative is given to us by janeway time and time and time again correcting seven and telling her that seven simply is not himan enough and still has to learn. (things autistic ppl can suuuuuper relate to which is a reason i could connect with seven at all). no matter how you want to look at it (whatever canon you want to decide isnt canon anymore for the sake of a fucking ship) janeway was directly written to be a mentor and mother figure to seven. janeway is there to help her learn when in reality she can never understand what its like to be an outcast within the federation and to take it a step further be part of a eace which is treated with hostility by humans. something b’elanna CAN understand and relate to because at the time of voyager shits still om the rocks between klingons and humans. janeway pushes seven to accept and embrace humanity as if thats the only option seven has to become a better character but its just not true. the story woven between janeway and seven is one of white women and femininity and how to be the perfect white woman and how to be a good lover. by actively ignoring the help and influence b’elanna could have provided for seven to learn and adapt to a majority human world they put all that weight on janeway. something that affects ALL three of them negatively and results in a narrative of “well b’elanna could never understand and relate to seven in a way that matters” which is beyond true because they are so interwoven even unintentionally so. it simply just wasnt taken further and its a true shame

and this isnt even touching on how badly seven’s actress was treated by janeways actress for being the pretty new doll at the time of filming and how that affected how i felt about janeway/seven as a ship (similarly how castle and beckett did not get along behind scenes i could no longer enjoy that show anymore)

i simplified this IMMENSELY and this shit is already long enough as it is so im sorry about that but yeah thats it. also sorry if things got repetitive ive been told i tend to do that when i write. these are my feelings and i am a real human behind this account so keep in mind how you react to this post. i have recieved countless hate anons most of which ive deleted throughout my short lived time as a fan of this franchise. i used to be MUCH more vocal about representation within star trek and people got mad so i left. but im back because the people that love b’elanna and that love that i have things to say about her matter so much fucking more than any angry person ever will

Sooo.... Below the read break is kinda my autism journey? Well masking journey probably. I did this both for myself, and for any other people out there who are looking for stories of other people and their experiences. And also a bit for the picrewcule bc ive posted some stuff about struggling with friendships recently and yeah..... :)

I was always the weird one in primary school... I was bullied in my first school, maybe a combination of autism and faith? But it led me to have to move schools... In my second primary school, people didnt bully me as overtly, but they would run away from me if I went near them and they called me unpleasant things. I was asked why I was weird quite a few times and my answer was that i had learnt how to interact in a normal way at my previous school, and now i am here and I dont know again... Which looking back was very self aware if me, but also very autistic of me....

I did find friends at that school, but they were so toxic and oftentimes mean that it would probably have been better for me to not have made friends at all....

Every time i went back after a half term, i would cry and plead with myself to just try to be normal. Theyll like me if im normal, they wont run away from me in the playground saying ive got the cheese touch. But each time I failed to make myself normal.

UNTIL!! i started high school. The mask fell into place in year 7. And it worked! No one was mean to me, infact I even found a few nice friends! But every time the mask dropped slightly accidentally i would feel so so bad inside, like i had done the worst thing ever and i had messed up forever.

Then year 8 came along. And masking all the time took its toll. I was crying every day needing to go to the library. I forgot what it was like to feel happy. I was so so tired and so so sad. I forgot who I was. Family friends were asking my parents if I was okay because i seemed so different and sad. And I would say im fine, because my life was fine. I had family who loved me, a school that I enjoyed, and friends who cared for me. I had no reason to be depressed.

Aannd then lock down happend. And that possibly maybe saved my life. I wasnt at that point yet, but I think I was on that trajectory. I found myself again in lockdown! Thats the short of it! Yay!

Then school started up again and i masked again, and i started going downhill again. Fast forward to yr11 when I was missing so many lessons because of anxiety/overstimulatiin.... And people noticed this time and I got therapy! Halfway through therapy me and my therapist seperately came to the conclusion that I was probably autistic. And everything made sense.

I started to lower the mask and almost immediately lots of my anxiety ceased. I started to learn who I was again, and I felt so much happier. And now? Im in a new school without anyone I know and ive dropped the mask almost entirely.

First weeks are always hard for me. I was expecting to need to miss almost every lesson this week and to be crying constantly. Ive gone to every lesson and this week has been about as bad as a normal week at my old school. I have support now.

Masking really took its toll and I am so glad Im in a position that I dont need to anymore. I dont want to end up back where i was in year 8, or yr 11. But it does mean its harder to find friends.... But as you have said, its better to have friends who know the real me and who like the real me than friends who like a mask.

silly wip update time!!! hinakasa the world + another thing

im like. in the final dialogue of the final scene of hnks chp1 rn. then i plan to edit it all and get it to a place im happier with. very head banging against wall rn bcuz my intentions were 5k a chapter but i always severely underestimate myself hahaha. it's double right now so, yay.

and that isnt to say *this* chapter is so much longer than the others, theyll both probably be about the same. except the third one may be shorter. but im not even going to try guessing anymore!!!! who cares!!! more hnks words!! whatever!!

my initial plan was after finishing chapter 1 that id let myself have a little indulgent break for an au, but i may have to push that back becauseee i saw rtiz week date/prompts got announced on twitter! ill try cooking something up (short. SHORT.) and then ill swing back to hkns. no guarantees on rtiz... i feel like it's been so long i may just not have the patience with myself to get back into writing them, but i have some ideas!

other than that... oh! yes. so regardless of where i am at with hnks, i do plan to share ~1k snippet of it on Halloween. The scene is actually moreso about 2wink lol? but i think itd be nice to have that as a little teaser if im not ready by then.

kinda one of the reasons this fic has gotten so big is because im starting to incorporate other characters so time has to be dedicated for that + hnks so. yeah. fun! more 2wink! yay!

“Alrighty then!” Hinata singsonged, his smile stretching across his face. “We can just do that, and we can start by playing some chess.”

Tsukasa’s eyebrows raised, creasing his forehead as Hinata’s words settled on him. “Really? Oh, that’s..” He trailed off, breaking into a grin like he just found an ultra rare card in one of his packs. “Yes! Let’s play chess. Ah, I still need to get my side set up.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll just start playing. Pawn to E8!” Hinata moved his piece.

“Pawn to-- hey, wait! Hinata-kun, don’t move your pieces yet. And also dont--”

“But white starts first, right? So, I’m totally good to go.”

Tsukasa scowled, frustration replacing the glee in his eyes, but with all the same level of intensity.

All the more fun to press him.

“Hm, I did make a mistake, didn’t I?” Hinata pulled his pawn back, letting Tsukasa have a moment of reprieve before speaking again. “Checkmate.”

He moved the pawn back to E8. The black king’s starting spot.

Hinata barely repressed a snort as Tsukasa’s fist tightened around his king piece.

“Hinata-kun.”

“Hm? Yes? What is it that I can do for you? Ah, you’re wondering what flavor I’d like for my second parfait since I just won, right?” Hinata finally broke into his parfait, taking a giant spoonful and not caring about speaking with his mouth full. “You’ll have to let me finish this one first at least!”

rant & slight idolish7 spoilers warning !!!!!

i verbally cannot describe how much comfort i7 brings me, genuinely. no matter how many times i watch it i just dont get bored of it, instead i notice new details and see new meanings behind certain words, scenes and actions. i love the characters so much ... theyre just so ... so adorable and relatable, you cant avoid them growing on you. the songs too !!!! the songs and characters make me so so happy, i adore them !

sogo and his violent impulses 😭 its always the quiet and composed people i swear. him collapsing from stress is very relatable. i admire his reasoning for doing music, i wish i had the same resolve HAHAHA except i vant even bring myself to tinker with my piano anymore :,)

tamaki and his childishness. it might be annoying to some, and he is very hard to deal with for sogo, but i think its endearing. hes self aware about being a bit on the dumber side but still tries his best .. i just wanna give him a hug and headpats and i hope he and aya get to be together again soon :( let the siblings be happy fr ...

yamato and his sincere want for the others to be happy and successful. what started out as a revenge mission became genuine affection toward the other 6 and i think thats amazing. he just gradually took on the role of the older brother/tired dad without even realizing and now hes stuck with them doing his best to ensure their happiness because he genuinely loves them :(

nagi and his comedic relief and wise moments ! i think nagi is reduced to simply comedic relief by most as he is just a silly pretty boy 80% of the time but hes actually very smart and theres so much we still dont know about him !! i sure hope we get some insights to him soon. and haruki aswell !!! i need to know more abt their friendship and the songs and everything !!

iori and his cute traits. he may be the youngest but he acts like the most mature (after yamato and sogo ofc) and his sincere want to ensure the success of i7 is admirable if im being honest. i adore his less composed moments though! makes me realize even picture perfect people have their quirks :) i love his friendly banters with riku and how he likes cute things and stationary and how he takes care of riku and mitsuki and and i love iori a normal amount i promise

riku and his sincerity. whatever hes feeling, you can just tell. hes so easy to take care of and while he might be insecure, hes really what holds them all together. he just shines as their center and hes so precious and his energy just makes you all warm n fuzzy and his smile just radiates joy and . i wish i could keep him in my pockets and carry him around.

mitsuki and the way i relate to him. the insecurities and being swallowed by them, running away from my problems and being the 2nd choice or not even a choice at all, not feeling good enough and just being average at everything i do, always being outshined and everything. hes so effortlessly funny and precious and i love his energy and his pretty smile and the way hes just so .. sunshine. yknow? i kin him can you tell

im well and truly back in my fnaf arc heres what kinda animatronic id be at the pizzaplex

astyr owl, colour+design based on my sona, of course. hed be in charge of a big ol library. his whole thing would be that theres nowhere to hide in his area, BUT hes not automatically aggro. hell only aggro if theres too much noise, e.g. sprinting, causing distractions in his area, etc. and he aggros on EVERYONE. the other animatronics can go into his area but theyll attract his attention, and after a short time hell aggro on them, booting them out of the library (or simply slowing them down if theyre chasing greg). if greg goes back to being quiet (i.e. sneaking) while astyr is going after an animatronic, astyr will automatically de-aggro once theyre gone. freddy can go into the library, but hes treated the same as the other animatronics, and, like moon, astyr can get greg even if hes piloting freddy, so its not the best idea. astyr cant leave the library but he can see everywhere inside, perched up on a pedestal in the middle of the big, cylinder shaped room. he has full motion of his head/neck. while traversing the library, hes always looking at gregory. you can tell hes getting aggro when his eyes change colour. they start blue, then purple, then red, and if you make noise while theyre red, he goes on the hunt, and the only way to stop the hunt is to leave the library. or, yknow. die. hell go back down aggro levels with time and resets when you leave the library. not sure how youd decommission him or what youd take from him, or if you even could tbh. all i can think of would be something stealth related which. freddy doesnt really need? the glamrocks dont attack him so he wouldnt need to stealth around them, and getting something the improve stealth for gregory himself doesnt make sense. idk, maybe you just. wouldnt decommission astyr, but instead you find the hoodie right by him? like, if you get onto his pedestal the present is there . i dunno ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯

also a lighter headcanon: trolls don't just let anyone cut their hair bc sharp things, vulnerable neck, etc but kanaya lets rose start trimming her hair after a few months, pre-retcon gamzee and karkat trim each others hair but post-retcon they don't, and terezi doesnt let anyone cut her hair partly bc she just doesnt care about how it looks

#first off ok i was trying to be nice but now im just like omfg #they made a really badly formatted doc for our soap note so i fixed it up. i noticed they were repeating the same info #and if you know then you know. SOAP notes need to be as short and sweet as possible #so i deleted the info without thinking about it bc it was unncessary #and they started acting up in the gc like weh weh who deleted it you have to ask me first we need that in there #and i explained like um... we dont...#and then i also changed their drug name they said metoprolol tartrate was toprol #which it ISNT!! thats succinate! it's lopressor!!!!! fuck!! and they got mad at ME again for correcting them #i understand getting mad at the first thing. but check your brand names before you add them to the doc for fucking real #anyway. we just presented right #and they said they will do everything after plan #so i did up until plan. but then the prof stopped the discussion so they didnt get to talk #meaning. i talked when they shouldve. but i was just listening to what they said. they told me theyll talk after plan #the plan subsection. so i talked up until then. and then the prof moved on #like. that cannot be my fault. that's on just unfortunate miscommunication and confusion on the presentation format #but. i think they are going to be insanely mad at me for real #personal #i always thought they were cool when i saw them in the lecture hall. now i know they are just cannot communicate like an adult <3

Yknow, technically I could fit this idea into the sci fantasy au, but I think it'd be funnier if I didn't and just made it it's own thing. It's one thing for your friend to secretly be a weird bird thing when you live in a world where everyone involved more or less knows of the existence of magic in some form, with some of them even being able to directly wield it, but it's another thing for that to happen in a world where magic super isn't a commonly known thing. Idk I just think it could be fun to have a more simple small scale au for once

#rat rambles #band posting #just a nice simple lil au where I dont have to account for literally every character... that clould be nice #if not hard for me because I KNOW I will be tempted to make more people a similar flavor of thing as ran #at the very least I will swear to myself to not make more that one for each band I wont do it #ok so I think Im awake enough to explain the plot of the dream so I will attempt to without it sounding weird #so I believe the backstory was that when ran was like 12 they accidentally got to figure out magic is very much real the hard way #long story short woo hiking feild trip oops crowd too loud time to scedaddle from group oops stumbled into wizard trap oops is bird #keep being bird for like a day while search parties fail to find you wizard finally notices and is like ah oops my cursed trap hit a Child #provide child with some magic that will allow them to be able to return to human form but erase the memory of how they got cursed #except uh oh the magic isnt always super effective and it takes a lot of actual effort on rans part to stay in a fully human form #and when they dont theyll either shift to a much more bird like form or just back to the straight up bird form #which was a finch btw the dream specifically specified finch for some reason #since they dont have any clue when or why this whole bird thing started happening and since that shit is weird and hard to try to explain #they ended up just trying to take the hard route and keep it a secret and just. not tell anyone #and that was the majority of the dream that I can remember clearly because I know in dream I was thinking like 'oh damn cool concept'#and also I wrote it down right as I woke up (albiet sloppily) as opposed to the rest pf the dream which I didnt dmdbdksb #but yeah basically just a very small au abt ran being birb and the rest of afterglow being like woa #and like trying to help them be able to live more comfortably with the curse than they currently are (since theyre yknow spending most of #their energy hiding it) and like I think a big thing in the dream was figuring out how and if ran should tell their dad #since like on the one hand hes possible the person in rans life who could do the most to help make their life easier in this department #but he could also very much do the opposite or just generally make a bigger deal out of it than ran would like #tbh the dream was kinda vague on how big a deal was too big a deal for ran but I think the primary worry was it being like. publicised #which I dont think is something ran's dad would do so thats good #I dont actually remember if that plot like got resolved though so guess I get to decide how that works out now #but yeah this dream very much stood out amongst the crowd of dreams I am very intrigued by its set up

killing eve finale bad

just want to talk about killing eve for a sec bc im an upset little lesbian who never seems to shut up about fictional people and has devoted so much time to this show so here we go !!!

there is absolutely NO WAY the writers would even think that the audience would accept whatever that was. it did not make sense, the ending was very unnecessary and did not pertain to what the show and what the characters stand for. i really do not care if this was laura neal’s way of telling audiences that “this is how it works in reality” because to me, the ending was hamfisted into the definition of “i want this story to be edgy just because it’s real and people will applaud me for showing darkness right” I’M NOT HAVING IT AT ALL.

the ending of killing eve is particularly upsetting because i thought we were over these useless and horrible tropes in stories, i thought we were way past writers being completely blind to the world of those people they write about, i thought all writers of this time are sincerely open to the exchange of ideas and to the awareness of the scope their stories could fill.

it’s upsetting because you can feel the lack of heart put into the script when so many people have put every emotion into this story shown through their art and their theories and their discussions. it’s a sad thing that they can’t seem to see that when they’re literally the only ones who have the power to put all of it into being (the actors of the show could do a better job with the direction bc they are actively listening to the feedback).

i dont even want to talk about how the showrunner pulled the very very old bury-your-gays trope on one of my favorite pairings of television !! bc i dont like being upset for too long and if i think about that fact for a second, i’d just dissolve !!! (to make it short: sapphic just cant get everything cant we…)

on a basic writing standpoint: it is very bad. besides the BYG trope, the finale was just terribly written, they didnt bother going back on the show and the characters arcs to actually finish them honorably, they didnt bother with writing good build ups and they didnt bother with the pacing. they just gave us villaneve romantic scenes, a promise of a happy ending, “sike! they dont get the happy ending” and called it a day like there was no nuance in everything, there was no tension in the text, all the great scenes, the tension, desire, complexities, characters’ traits, journeys, growth reflected on the actors’ performances. this episode was HEAVILY relying on jodie and sandra’s performances.

(the way they didn’t even put much effort into writing the character death 🧍🏽‍♀️there was no build up, so the weight wasn’t entirely felt, their performances was what ultimately gave it that oomph)

all i could think about after that ending is how sorry i feel for jodie and sandra, they spent years with these characters and they understand them more than ANYONE ELSE and they know that the fans do to and yet the writers seem to not see how that passion and love for the story could actually help them write better stories !!! trust your audiences and trust anyone else involved in the creative process of something so packed with potential as THIS

i want to wrap up this post in a lighter tone because i dont like feeling upset so i just want to celebrate sandra oh and jodie comer for a sec because they gave me eve and villanelle!!!! and i’ll always be grateful for that. theyve always done fantastic performances for this show. they honor the characters as much as they honor the fans. theyve portrayed such a nuanced angle of female desire (thats between two women!), they went above and beyond the text and theyll always be the best part of the show. they played a big part in how i slowly started to come to terms with myself and thats always good to have and remember

danse would for sure fall under the violent criteria of this situation. he already has one foot in the door once someone dares to go too close to sole, but hit her? that’s a totally different story for another day. that person better be praying to some god out there to give them mercy cause danse knows he won’t. the minute he hears that slap on soles face, it will trigger him to attack without a word. and to answer the question; does danse need a gun to do the job? absolutely not. those muscles are not just for show after all. no matter how many people hold him back, he will always fight his way through the crowd of people and beat the living fuck out of the person, even if they’re begging for him to stop. he won’t even realize the damage he’s done until after and won’t regret it either way, knowing that it was well deserved on their case. now if it was a situation where it was shoving or showing signs of starting a fight with his beloved, he’d step right in front of them and stare them down angrily with the biggest scowl ever. in some cases, that’s more than enough to scare most people off towards the other direction but in a few, he’s forced to threaten them. “i advise you step away unless you desire for this situation to escalate into something that involves solely you and i.” no one will ever be a threat to sole on his watch and he will make sure that nothing will stop him from protecting her.

deacons nice. he’s really laid back in most situations and is more than willing to let things go if he feels like it’s not worth the trouble. following that, deacons nice to a certain point and if you cross that point? consider yourself on his hitlist for the rest of your life. the intensity of the situation will determine how he’ll react towards it. if the person were to do as simple as shove sole, he’d keep an eye on them and say something within the lines of, “woah, woah, take it easy.” now if it was something like a slap or a punch, he wouldn’t even let it happen, not while he’s around. deacon would have fast enough reflexes to catch their wrist and he’d grip it enough to leave a mark, a displeased expression on his face. he’d even go as far as making jokes with an evil smile, such as, “oops my hand slipped,” or “oh you dropped this,” and proceed to deck the person as hard as he can with his free hand, not caring whether or not he knocks them unconscious. after that incident, he’d constantly terrorize the poor individual, often pulling pranks on them without any breaks. sometimes, he’d even go near them and speak in a happy tone while patting their back in a manner where it seemed a little too friendly.

Maccready:

threatening

mac is aware he’s not muscular nor is he made for fighting, which is why he sticks with guns during most situations. hes a lanky man and gets intimidated a little easier than most people, knowing that many of them could take him down with something as simple as a punch. it’s easier to say he’s more confident with a gun in his hand in these instances. despite his weaknesses, he would not hesitate to step up, knowing that hes unable to control his anger. he’d immediately point the gun at the persons temple and cock it just for intimidation purposes, but knows that he’s more than willing to pull the trigger if he needs to. it benefits him and the commonwealth more than damages it, seeing that this world needs one less asshole living it in, so who is he to care if this person dies or not? he’d slowly press it harder against the persons head, angrily speaking, “back away now.” if the person does so, he’ll gladly let them walk away without an injury and instead tend to sole. he wouldn’t let them go without some snarky comment like, “yeah keep walking and please let the door hit you on the way out.” if they refuse to move away from sole though, he’d gladly take the butt of his gun and smack it against their temple within seconds, completely ignoring the persons body knocked out on the floor. mac would get sole up and out of there as soon as he can, complaining under his breath about how much of that guy was an asshole and how he shouldve shot him.

Hancock:

violent group

consider one thing; that this person who fucked over his lover is beyond dead in his eyes. no one touches his sunshine, and if they dared to? theyll be wishing they hadn’t. hancock can quickly become someone’s friend, but the same can be said if it were an enemy. if he’s willing to stab someone for getting even a little too chummy and touchy with sole, imagine what he’d do if they dared to inflict pain on them. depending on where they are, like a bar for instance, he’d grab a glass bottle and crack it on the guys head, pushing him down on the floor without another word. using his shotgun, he’d make sure he’d put a few bullets through his body before he decides he’s completely satisfied with the new makeover he’s given them. now if he was in a more violent mood and was definitely not having it, he’d want to have their blood on his hands and wouldn’t care if it stained his clothes or not. he wants to send the message to everyone watching that if anyone dares to fucking cross his line, they’re gonna learn it the hard way and he will make it very known how the outcome of the situation will be. for example, he has a knife and what better way to use it than to stab the fuck out of someone for pissing him off? in some cases (depending on the severity of the situation), he’ll shank them in a place where he knows it’ll hurt the most and leave them there to suffer so they’ll get the idea that if they fuck with the people he treasures, they have another thing coming.

Nick Valentine:

mix of threatening and just angry.

honestly, nick is very civil about most cases and he won’t get violent unless absolutely necessary. he will definitely be beyond angry and give the person so much fucking shit for their actions. nick almost never yells but in this case, he’d yell so loud, it would fill up the silence of the room. nick also uses a lot of profanities when doing so, unable to maintain his professional attitude and his usual cool. “now what the fuck do you think you’re doing?!” he’d even go as far as shoving them back, keeping a distance between sole and the person who deemed themselves as a threat to her presence. he’d try to minimize the possibility of violence arising, knowing that both him and sole are not as replaceable as they seem. he’d sneer at the person who striked sole, talking in the most irritated tone possible, “if i wasn’t here controlling her anger, you would’ve been dead on the pavement just a few minutes back, pal. consider yourself lucky that you were spared.” regardless if the person continued talking or not, nick would casually take soles hand and pull her away from the scene as he let out a remark loud enough for them to hear; “we don’t have time for the likes of you anyway, so take your trouble elsewhere.” nick has like zero shame when it comes to back talking or insulting someone he’s not fond of, so you best believe he won’t shut up until you both are out of sight.

Preston:

honestly, just angry.

preston will avoid violence at all costs, considering he doesn’t favor the idea and as much as he hates seeing sole get hurt, he doesn’t want to risk starting another issue. sole has a reputation amongst the commonwealth and the last thing he wants is to taint it or fuck it up, so he lets sole decide whether or not violence should be pursued. also considering that she has more than enough on her plate, he doesn’t want to add on to the list of problems she already has. so unless this guy is literally on the verge of gravely injuring his other half, he won’t do much besides step in front of sole to protect her from any further hits. he’d rather take the hits than to let someone as important as her take them firsthand. he wouldn’t forgive himself if such a thing happened. even if sole did most of the work in the end, he’d still send them the dirtiest look he’s ever given anyone and his hand would already be on the trigger of his laser musket, ready to fire at the guy anytime just in case. before officially leaving the person to do their own thing and bidding them goodbye, he’d get a little up close and personal, talking in the most threatening tone possible (even if he’s not the greatest at it); “once you mess with the general, you mess with the minutemen. i’d suggest you choose your battles a little better next time around.”

Sturges:

just angry

we all know by now sturges is a huge pacifist and will refuse to resort to violence unless he has no absolute choice but to do so. sturges is a very kind man and just like deacon, he’s willing to let most cases go but he respects sole too much to let violent situations like this slide. even if he’s very afraid to get into a violent situation head on, he’ll try to keep it as calm as possible, not wanting to escalate the situation more. being the considerate lover he is, he will ask sole to stay back and keep away from the person as much as possible as he tries to handle the situation himself. even if sturges doesn’t show it, he does get very angry in these instances and will not allow it to happen regardless of the reason. he’ll probably talk to the person with a firm tone and an irate expression but do nothing further than that unless the individual wants blood spilled, which in this case, sole is brought back into the situation. knowing sturges, he’d probably tell the person something like, “hey buddy, i really don’t appreciate what ya just did to my girl. ya need to quit it cause it ain’t right.” or, “if we got a problem, you can always just come to me instead of strikin’ that beautiful lady of mine. i’m willin’ to fix it with ya and if not, then i’m willin’ to take the hit.. though i’m sure my girl wouldn’ appreciate such a motive.” he knew she really wouldn’t. sole would shoot them down before he could let out a soft, “told ya so.”

Gage:

the ceo of violent

even if the raider life consists of injuries, blood, dirty work, and violence, he will never allow sole to get hurt under his watch. even if he tells her to toughen up and get used to it, he truly wants to protect her from the world and anything that could run as a potential hazard. that being said, he doesn’t care who the fuck strikes sole- it could be a man, woman, the highest and most royal person in the planet and it’d still have the same result in the end. gage wouldn’t even give them a chance to explain themselves and would simply let out a small, “oh fuck no, you ain’t.” and shoot them down himself before sole could give him an order. he would take the situation into his own hands with or without soles persmission, knowing that they crossed gages line of comfort. if he’s not satisfied with that or feels as if that’s too much of an easy way out, he’ll shoot their leg and come closer to them to step on their chest to block any chance of escaping. “wanna act tough, huh? show me how tough ya are, why dontcha? be my guest and apologize to the overboss. i’ll let her decide if it’s good enough to let ya go.” if sole were to deny every apology, he’d continue to shoot them limb by limb until he decides to put them down completely. now if sole decides their apology is more than enough, he’ll willfully let them go but let her decide their fate on whether they should be put down or not. in the end, if he had his way with that bastard, they wouldn’t be seeing the light for a long while.
