Note
we haven't spoken in a very long time, but i dreamt of you last night, so I couldn't help but think of you. I'm not sure you remember me, but i hope life is treating you well these days. take care.
I'm not sure what to say, but I can promise you I have not forgotten you. My time on Tumblr has been a mess full of hiatuses, I admit, but it will always be a place where I met some very wonderful friends, including you. With 100% honesty, I can say the friends I made here are some of the best friends I have ever had, even though most of us don't talk anymore.
It doesn't matter how often I speak with people, or if we never speak again. I'll always remember you, and I'll always think fondly of you and hope that life is treating you gently and kindly.
I hope you had a nice (or at the very least an okay) dream, and I'm glad to know you still remember me, too, regardless of all else.
Take care, love <3

*. ⋆ ATTENTION
Tumblr media
A/N: me and bae
Summary: matt begs reader to come over but is too fixated on his games😣
Warnings: swearing, kissing, suggestive?
・₊✧⋆⭒˚。⋆
As I parked my car outside Matt's house, I sighed and wondered why I had given in to his persistent pleas. The text messages had been relentless, Matt practically begging me to come over. Against my better judgment, I found myself standing at his doorstep, feeling a mix of annoyance and curiosity.
He left the door unlocked, so I let myself in before walking to his room. I took a deep breath and opened his bedroom door, finding him seated at his desk, playing some first-person shooter game. He looked at me for a second, moving one side of his headphones off his ear, and nodded. "Hi," I mumbled, focusing on him as he returned to his game. I couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy, knowing that he had barely acknowledged my existence.
Stepping behind him, I ran my hands through his hair briefly and rested my hands on his shoulders, gently rubbing them. He kissed his teeth slightly before the clicking sounds of his keyboard intensified. "Fuck," he practically yelled, slamming the table and making me flinch. I scoffed and walked off to his bed, pulling out my phone and purposely turning up the volume to gain his attention.
He barely acknowledged my existence, and I couldn't help but feel frustrated.
“Matt?” I speak up.
Silence.
"Matt," I repeated, my voice slightly raised. "What?" he replied, agitated. I furrowed my brows slightly, "I didn't come here to watch you play your shitty little game." There was a moment of silence before he mumbled a "shit" and shoved off his keyboard after being killed again. He got up from his chair, walking over to me, and I couldn't help but feel a thrill of excitement at his sudden proximity. "Can't keep your mouth shut for one minute, can you?" he mumbled under his breath before reaching over me and pinning my waist down to the bed, catching me by surprise.
He leaned in closely, pressing his lips against mine. He pulled back after a second, but I chased his lips hungrily, placing my hand behind his head to hold him close to me. We pulled away for a moment, and he leaned up, pressing a kiss to my forehead. "Wanna come watch me play, baby?"
I rolled my eyes at him, trying my best not to smile, as much as I hated to admit it, he always effortlessly made me smile. He bit his lip for a second, his icy blue eyes staring into mine, and scanning over the details of my face before practically dragging me up by my waist and moving me over to his desk. I couldn't help the laugh that fell through my lips as I felt his smile behind me. He sat down on his chair again, spreading his legs a bit before pulling me to sit on his lap, my back against his chest. He rested his chin on my shoulder, tilting his head slightly and pressing a soft, ghostly kiss to my neck.
One of his hands stayed wrapped around my waist while his free hand grabbed his headphones and placed it on my head, so one side was off my ear. His other free hand came to guide mine over his keyboard, "let me show you how to play, baby."

When are you continuing the modern prince nikolai girl I need to know what happens next 😫
I will not be continuing this series. The fact that you would even ask me to continue is honestly sort of insulting because as a creator I have to pull out my blood sweat and tears just to make stupid fanfictions for you desperate little raccoon looking leeches and—
SIKE
Tumblr media
Modern Prince Nikolai PART TWOOOO ISHHHHHHH
Tumblr media
Social media was going wild.
You spent your days holed up in your apartment binge-watching Netflix and avoiding your phone. You had dozens of missed calls from your family, your friends, Nikolai’s manager, as well as the prince himself.
His calls were what hurt you the most. You’d stopped listening to the voice messages—they were nothing but constant pleading for you to speak to him, for you to just let him explain, to let him console you.
No.
Regardless of the fact that he was a royal the security guard at your complex a seventy-five year old veteran named Ben proved his loyalty by refusing to even let Nikolai inside the building, let alone ring your doorbell.
That hurt the prince. It was Ben with whom he’d snuck flower deliveries to when Nikolai had started to pursue you. Ben who always winked at him when he left in a rush at an odd hour of the morning, cheeks flushed and dress-shirt wrinkled. Ben who always said, ‘in my day royals didn’t run around with their shoelaces undone’, earning a loud laugh from the prince.
It seemed the old man had chosen sides.
“Y/N, please.” Nikolai’s voice rings out from your phone, your finger hovering over the pause button of his latest desperate voicemail. “Please let me talk to you. I can explain everything okay? You have to—”
You delete the message.
Weeks pass in this way.
You’ve stopped checking Instagram all together; the posts of the two of you have gone completely viral, even more so than they did when you first began sharing the details of your budding relationship. Even your wallpaper, a photo of you the prince with his arms around your waist, chin propped on your shoulder from behind, had been changed.
You recall how you met with a twinge of overwhelming sadness.
You’d been working as a barista at a local, hipster-style coffee shop when you’d had your first interaction with the prince. The Beegies were playing at full volume as you danced around, bumping cabinets shut with your hip and humming to yourself. When a man had approached the counter you’d told him, in your most cheerful voice, ‘just a sec’, before popping a chocolate-dotted finger into your mouth.
“Croissants are messy.” You giggled, wiping your freshly cleaned hands on a towel before looking up. “How can I—oh.”
Nikolai had a small, amused grin on his face as he watched you, fascinated by the gorgeous barista that had been mumbling ‘Staying Alive’ to herself. You smiled back, bashfully, and when his order was complete you found his personal phone number written on a napkin.
The two of you had gone on your first date a week later.

would LOVE to know full details to the culture difference bestie when you've got the time because I'm kinda just a sucker for that. also. were we too nice for you tell me more about that
here we gooooo here's a rundown of the top things that were really jarring to me as a brit in america!
kinda dumb that i feel the need to say this but ive been burned before: americans, if you're going to send me shit about this list, please first reread what you've typed and ask yourself 'am i addressing this person as an actual real life adult that not only has experienced both countries she speaks about but also has perfectly functioning social skills that allow her to navigate what is and isn't a culture difference, or am i talking to her like a condescending little prick?' this includes messages like 'americans aren't actually ___, we're just ___ which clearly went over your head as a silly foreigner :)' do u understand how condescending messages like that are as the person who was there? this list is me saying what was strange to me AS A BRIT IN AMERICA. it is a comparison, not an objective statement of something ive decided is a fact about your culture. im not writing this so people can try and like. educate me on all the things i missed because america was just soooo complex. okay? stunning
you guys were SO nice like i think the best way i can contextualise this for an american is that the first time i felt actually comfortable (not that i was uncomfortable otherwise but i mean in a social sense) was when we were in new york city. no one looked at me no one wanted to talk to me people were shouting and being rude to each other it was just like home <3 the way americans are friendly is just so intense and it took me a good while to stop being so bowled over by it. like if you met someone one time they'd try and hug you and i found that very very strange
americans generally talk about their feelings a lot more and i dont even mean just from the people i interacted with bc that very well might have been because i just got on well with them so we were talking honestly, but even on commercials and things you guys talk about mental illnesses and such like it's a grocery shop whereas in england there's still very much a stiff upper lip culture about that kind of thing
you guys do speak louder. like objectively even 'quiet' americans were louder than most brits and would be glared at in public if we were in england just bc of the volume they were speaking at. you also inflect more. again i think this is another thing that boils down to americans being very bright and intense while the english are renowned for not wanting anyone to look at them ever. like a bug under a rock
FREE REFILLS!! i have not shut up about this but if you order a coffee somewhere then you have in fact ordered UNLIMITED COFFEE. the first time a waitress leaned over me to fill my coffee up i flinched away from her bc i was like what in god's name are you doing
if you try and make a hot drink in america then you are taking your life in your hands. you have to filter the water, find whatever apparatus this specific house uses to boil water, remind yourself that americans have a vendetta against milk so you have to use creamer which is 'exactly like milk' but 'you wouldnt drink it like milk' so what the fuck is going on there, and then by the time everything's done you want to go out back to curl up and die like an old dog. dont get me started on tea
one thing i thought was cute is that you guys say 'come get in the AC' the same way we would say 'come get out of the rain' like that's such a cute little human thing i think
AC itself is such a godsend but me not being used to it was kind of baffling to americans. boom's brother asked me what my ideal AC temp was at home and i just. looked at him bc i didnt even know where to start with that
it took me WEEKS to stop trying to get in the driver's side of the car
american ignorance is a very real very frustrating thing. 'whats that thing they do in europe-' idk bc ive never been to all of europe. 'when i went to europe-' where in europe. it is a continent. i got asked if we have fireworks in europe. bonfire night is older than the founding of america. there's just a genuine belief amongst americans that they're not even AWARE of (because it would be smart, nice americans that i genuinely liked saying these things) that america is the most elite country in the world and is the only place to have certain things
speaking of the european thing with americans, the fact that 'travelling to europe' is typically a bragging right over there and is seen as quite an upper class thing is very interesting. a lot of the times people would be bragging TO ME and it would go over my head bc id be like 'well anyone can go to spain'. i feel like shagaluf would give americans an aneurysm
the sheer size of america never truly registered with me until i was there like i cannot wrap my head around it. the uk can fit in lake michigan 4 times. you guys have cargo ships on lakes. the roads just go straight for miles and miles and miles. you have every environment and weather possible. literally obsessed
capitalism is actually way more intense in america. like yeah it makes sense america is thee capitalist country but i guess i thought because i was coming from a western capitalist country myself that it wouldnt change much. but like. billboards on roads. adverts while you pump gas. there is someone selling u something everywhere u look
tipping was so hard 😭 i knowwww it's necessary i understand the econ behind it all but i was so stressed all the time because of it 😭
YOUR STARBUCKS IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN OURS
i knew i was going to have to change the way i spoke in america bc of obvious things (my accent isnt The British Accent that americans recognise, i use a lot of slang etc) but it surprised me just how much i had to change. like by the end of it i wasnt using any slang and i was enunciating every letter because i was just so tired of saying something just for boom to have to literally translate bc like? it was no fault of theirs or mine or even the person i was talking to but it just made me feel Weird and Odd and most surprising of all was that it made me feel stupid? and i guess that's bc i get a lot of shit for my accent over here too so im oversensitive to it but ive never properly felt more like a foreigner in a different country than i did trying to talk to americans
sarcasm. im just. like the running joke is that americans dont get sarcasm and id have actually preferred that i think bc what instead happened is you guys have AMERICAN sarcasm and it just. made no fucking sense to me at all. i literally did not get american humour even slightly it was probably my biggest thing when i was over there like i literally felt like entire conversations were going over my head. british humour is very dry so not only did i not get american humour but sometimes MY humour would be misinterpreted as well and the entire thing was just very strange lol
RIGHT ON RED????? RED MEANS STOP???? WHAT ARE YOU DOING????

Can you do ubuyashiki family headcanons
oh i love the ubuyashiki family so yes of course!! i really really wish we got more about how they and the demon slayer organization works and if kny were longer i would have loved for more arcs to go into it.
• while hinaki and nichika were tasked with assisting their father, kiriya, kuina and kanata help teach and raise, and receive the messenger crows. the one pictured with kagaya in the volume 16 cover is from a specific lineage that is always entrusted to the master to deliver messages pertaining to him and the family.
• kuina and kanata do not often speak to or address the hashira other than to relay orders, but through their messenger crows they learn little details about them and gossip with each other about what they hear.
• their upbringings and daily regimens were strict, but they did find moments to spend together as a family. the children would play music, or kagaya and amane would sit together outside and watch the kids play. they enjoyed a meal together before kiriya, kuina, and kanata left the estate for the last time before muzan's attack.
• kagaya's soothing voice and amicable nature was not a trait shared by everyone in the ubuyashiki lineage. it was something specifically he had. previous generations had hashira that disobeyed, hated, and even went against them, but kagaya uniquely had a personality that garnered the respect of every single one of his demon slayers.
• since his father committed suicide over the grief of watching the demon slayers die, kagaya initially grappled over the same feeling of feeling responsible for their deaths. but amane helped him overcome it by reminding him that each swordsman that beat final selection and joined the corps did so knowing it was a life-risking endeavor, and chose to lay their lives down to help defeat muzan.

Window Across the Galaxy ✧*:・゚updated 1/17
18+ only | rocket x f!oc | 25/27 chapters | wip| word count: pending. ♡ check the masterlist for expected updates ♡ ♡ see the "holiday special" ⋆꙳•̩̩͙❅*̩̩͙‧͙ Winter Across the Galaxy * ‧͙*̩̩͙❆ ͙͛ ˚₊⋆ [new 12/5] ♡
see new fan art of my girl jo! a few gorgeous sketches by @moonnpiie ♡♡♡♡ and a Chapter XXIV jo by @frostedwitch ♡♡♡♡
girl falls first; racoon falls harder.
Rocket isn’t sure how he continues to be surprised by her, or how he never seems to anticipate her next move, especially when — cosmically speaking — Jo’s the most predictable frickin’ person he knows. For one damn thing, she is constantly dropping down to the ground in front of him: in front of the cage with a plateful of food. In the streets of Conjunction. By his bed while he slept. The very first time she’d used her mouth on him. And then the next time, too. That whole experience had been so brain-melting he still isn’t sure he’ll ever recover. But for whatever reason, when she sits down at the foot of his chair this time and takes his hands in her own — so carefully — his heart is suddenly, unexpectedly, in his throat. He can’t breathe around it, can’t swallow. When she starts speaking, he already knows what she’s going to say. He can feel it in the air, like static electricity building toward a spark. Because, just as she’d said, she’d already told him a million times before. With and without words. But still. He can’t breathe. And once she’s done confessing, and gives him two kisses — one pressed into each palm, to keep — she looks at him patiently and shifts like she’s about to rise to her feet and go about her night, like she’s not expecting anything back. Because of course she’s not.
[NEW 1/9] ✧・゚:*Chapter XXV. Little Love Stories. in which both of our heroes learn a little about themselves. ❤︎
i know there are parts of this don't read smoothly (sorry sorry sorry) but in general i am so so so happy with this chapter. drax. (╥﹏╥) we have two more chapters to go, which is.... kinda making me cry tbh. i already miss these two idiots so much. ~♡
explicit lines or references* abbreviated explicit sequences ❤︎ detailed/prolonged explicit sequences ❤︎❤︎
General summary/notes + links to recently preceding chapters behind the cut.
let me know via comment, message, or ask if you'd like to be added or removed from my fanfic taglist ♡
Rocket is captured by a Ravager crew hoping to get rich off the excessively large bounty on his head. Throwing a wrench in everyone’s plans is the Terran girl they hired to do some freelance assessing on a recent haul of goods they’ve seized from a Xandaran luxury liner. Oops.
slight AU starting pre-GOTG volume 1 (but will hit most of the same major plot points). slow burn + eventual smut with a lot of pining in the middle. kinda enemies-to-lovers? (but only one of these idiots thinks they're enemies).
let me be real with you: this fic is really about wish-fulfillment. not just the eventual smut (but that too). mostly i just want someone to be nice to my best boy raccoon
*・゚:*✧・゚:*✧*:・゚✧*:・゚*
Chapter I. A Delicacy. in which our reluctant heroes meet atop a crate of Sovereign porn in the bowels of a Ravager ship.
Chapter II. Monster For A Pet. in which one hero wrestles with his inner Groot, and the other is quite possibly a moron.
Chapter III. A Kindness. in which Rocket gets in his own damn way: not for the first time, and certainly not for the last.
Chapter IV. Got There First. in which our heroes obtain an arsenal and street food.
Chapter V. Things No-One Has Said Before. in which one hero refuses to babysit and the other refuses to leave.
Chapter VI. Two and a Half Billion Units.in which we lean into the “they were roommates” trope. Jolie has misgivings, while Rocket has fantasies - about getting rich, of course.
Chapter VII. I'm Here. in which we visit Knowhere.
Chapter VIII. The Care & Feeding of Human Pets. in which our heroes practice breathing and we lean into a new trope: “there was (technically) one bed.”
Chapter IX. Scrapmetal and a Dream. in which we redefine homemaking.
Chapter X. Thin Fucking Ice. in which our heroes get fucked. Not in the good way.
Chapter XI. Let It Be. in which Xandar is saved and good lives are lost.
Chapter XII. So Much It Hurts. in which we try not to fuck up the vibes.
Chapter XIII. Don’t Wait. in which a lost sister is found and Drax grapples with the concept of sarcasm.
Chapter XIV. Exactly Like a Flower. in which comfort is shared.
Chapter XV: Galaxy-Breaking Shit. in which more comfort is shared, and life is good. Briefly.
Chapter XVI. Run. in which Rocket falls victim to his superstitions.
Chapter XVII. A Seedling. A Fox. A Little Girl. in which the party is divided.
Chapter XVIII. I Happen to Know a Guy. in which our heroes get fucked. Again. Still not in the good way.
Chapter XIX. He Was Loved. in which a planet is killed, a friend is made and lost, and nobody still has any frickin’ tape.
Chapter XX. Some Nerve. *in which an ultimatum is given.
Chapter XXI. I Very Still. ❤︎❤︎ in which our heroes get fucked. In the good way, this time. Finally.
Chapter XXII. Got There Worse. ❤︎❤︎ in which Rocket does not say "I love you."
Chapter XXIII. We're Gonna Need a Bigger Table. ❤︎ in which the galaxy continues to spin.
Chapter XXIV. Space Would Be Better. ❤︎❤︎ in which Rocket ~discreetly~ claims the title of boyfriend.
Chapter XXV. Little Love Stories. * in which both of our heroes learn a little bit about themselves.
Chapter XXVI. Other Side of the Window. ❤︎
Chapter XXV. The Most Beautiful Thing in My House. ❤︎❤︎

//okay so, I made a small summary of one of Takara’s Vignette last night, literally at 3-4 am. Is not the best and is short but then again it is a R tier card and they normally don’t have that big of an interest story or long so meh~ hope you guys enjoy it (also sorry if it may be a big OOC, I do not really know that much about Sebek but I still love him)
꒷︶꒷꒥꒷‧₊˚꒷︶꒷꒥꒷‧₊˚꒷︶꒷꒥꒷‧₊˚꒷︶꒷꒥꒷‧₊˚ ꒷︶꒷꒥꒷‧₊˚꒷︶
Tumblr media
Takara was enjoying spending his afternoon underneath a tree in the school courtyard with Grim. Their peaceful chatter although was abruptly interrupted when a familiar, loud voice called out for Takara. It was none other than Sebek!
“HUMAN, THERE YOU ARE! I have been looking for you all day and-“
“SHHHHHH!!!!! Quiet it down òmó!!!”
Startled by the sudden loud sound, Takara quickly covered his ears, seeking refuge from the noise. Grim, being protective over him, followed suit and placed his little paws over Takara's hands to offer further comfort. Sebek, taken aback by their reaction, began to understand that he unwittingly caused distress for Takara.
Attempting to diffuse the tension he wanted to speak up but Grim beats him to it, his annoyance evident in his voice. "Seriously? How many times do we have to tell you? Takara HATES loud noises, especially shouting. Your constant yelling only makes it worse!"
Sebek flinched at the scolding, realization dawning on him. He couldn't understand how he had keeps repeatedly forgetting such an important detail about his friend. Feeling guilty, Sebek quickly apologized while being as quiet as possible. "Ah! My apologies, Human! I didn't mean to bring you so much stress."
Takara, gradually feeling calmer, removed his hands from his ears and offered Sebek a reassuring smile. Using sign language, he conveyed that he understood and it was alright. {It’s alright, I know you didn’t mean to.} And Grim stepped in, translating Takara's message for Sebek, ensuring there was no miscommunication.
Although Sebek, still felt remorseful about the situation. However, Takara, ever understanding, did not hold it against him. He knew that Sebek was accustomed to expressing himself through shouting and stopping that habit would be a challenge.
But~ it wouldn’t last for long
As the days went by, Sebek made a conscious effort to lower his volume around Takara only and Takara greatly appreciated the effort and reciprocated by teaching Sebek basic sign language, allowing him to communicate with Takara even in noisy environments.
And in due time, Takara and Sebek become closer then before, with Sebek unconsciously now always lower his voice volume whenever Takara is around, which shocked many but it was something that Takara appreciated the most!

I played the Resident Evil 4 demo and let me say *chef's kiss* I did want to give my opinion about it! One of the first things I've noticed is that they absolutely gave Leon a form of PTSD from Raccoon City and I'm glad they did. That might sound weird, but I can't believe he didn't walk away without trauma. I mean, this dude was literally fighting for his life for more than twenty-four hours. So, the fact that it shows in his face and mannerisms speaks volumes about the detail done in this game. Is he still giving those cheesy one-liners? Yeah. No one has to worry about it. Is it still challenging? I died. Multiple times. One of the aspects I loved about it was the added stealth and the fact that there will be times that you have to use it. You don't have to, but Jesus Christ, use it! The developers at Capcom really did want to respect the original game and there were even interviews showing their doubts about even remaking this one since they really do consider the original a masterpiece in their eyes. All in all, don't think of this as a replacement, but more of as a game that could be built upon since gaming really has transformed into a beast of its own making.
i'm glad you enjoyed the demo. and i hope you'll have fun with the full game when it comes out, too! i'm sure if you liked the demo this much you'll love the game too! :)
altho i must say, the thought that you can somehow see someone's depression or trauma on their face and in their expressions is... not something i find realistic or something to strive for in media. i know people who have been severely depressed but it doesn't outwardly show in their expressions. so giving Leon super low eyebrows and making him look stern is, in my opinion, at best a childish and lazy way of trying to portray trauma, if that's what they're doing with it. how a person looks has no automatic relation to how they feel.
i agree with you 100% that Leon definitely walked away from Raccoon City with trauma. that's not at all what i'm trying to criticize. but i'm so tired of this fandom equating someone's resting face or expression with what they feel inside. (not directed at you, specifically, just the fandom at large). how does one look depressed or traumatized? it's just not a thing.
also, I don't mind getting occasional messages about the remake, but I just want to reiterate something: I am not going to play it when it comes out. I am not going to excitedly look for new content about it. i have the tag blocked for a reason.
sometimes i might venture out and look at gifs or opinions about it, hell, i even reblogged some of the things i actually liked! but I've gotten multiple messages from (well meaning and nice) people trying to tell me to "just enjoy the game!" and I have to say i'm feeling a little pressured to do something i have no intentions to do.
i wish that you all have LOADS of fun playing the remake! i hope you'll enjoy yourself and i hope you get to be super excited about it! i genuinely do!
but at the same time, please allow me to not join in on the hype.

Say Thanks with Style: Floral Pattern Thank You Bags
Tumblr media
In a bustling marketplace, the little touches can make a huge difference. Think about the last time you were handed a purchase in a beautifully adorned bag. It’s a small gesture with a big impact, a token that can elevate the simplest exchange into a cherished moment. In today's retail world, customer experience is king. Here's how to charm your customers with floral-pattern thank you bags and why they matter.
The Power of the Thank You
Gratitude is the master key that opens the gates of customer loyalty and charm. When a customer feels appreciated, they are more likely to return and to spread the word about your business. A simple "thank you" can hardly go unnoticed, but the delivery — now that is where we step into the artful layer of customer engagement. Floral-pattern thank you bags are more than just containers for purchased goods; they embody a subtler form of gratitude expressed through design and detail.
Floral Patterns: A Universal Symbol of Appreciation
Floral motifs have an enduring association with positive values. These designs are not only aesthetically pleasing but also convey a sense of beauty, delicacy, and thoughtfulness. In various cultures, flowers have been traditional symbols of appreciation and thanks. By incorporating floral patterns into your thank you bags, you transcend language barriers and communicate a universal sentiment of gratitude.
Crafting a Remarkable Experience
Shop owners have a tapestry of choices when it comes to the design and material of their thank you bags. Elements like quality, uniqueness, and environmental sustainability are vital in crafting a memorable experience for customers. Here are essential components to consider:
Creative Design Choices
A thoughtful design is at the heart of any thank you bag. Play with color palettes and flower varieties to find a combination that suits your brand and resonates with your audience. Modern digital printing techniques allow for incredibly detailed and vibrant designs, ensuring that every bag is a piece of portable art.
Materials with a Message
The choice of material speaks volumes about your brand's values. Opt for eco-friendly options like recycled paper or biodegradable plastics to highlight your commitment to sustainability. Inform your customers that even the decorative aspects of your packaging align with eco-consciousness, positioning your brand as a leader in thoughtful commerce.
Personalization and Customization
Welcome your customers to a personalized experience with their very own floral-pattern thank you bag. Consider adding their names, a unique message, or even the date of their visit. Tailoring the bag to the individual transaction makes the customer feel that their business is genuinely valued and not just another number in your sales log.
Add a Flair of Fragrance
Go the extra mile and infuse your bags with a subtle floral scent. Studies show that scents can evoke strong memories, so a scented bag can make your customer's shopping experience unforgettable. Just ensure the scent complements the overall atmosphere of your store and isn't overpowering.
Essentially Yours: Floral Thank You Bags in Your Brand's Journey
Floral-pattern thank you bags are not just beautiful adornments; they are stories waiting to be shared. They stand at the intersection of design, gratitude, and purpose, allowing your business to articulate its values and personality with a single touch.
These bags are parts of your brand's narrative — from the initial customer welcome to the final farewell. They say more than just 'thank you'; they whisper that you are part of something charming, thoughtful, and distinctly unique. In this noisy world of commerce, the sweet smell of flowers in the hand of a customer walking down the street carries your brand further than any logo or advertisement could.

Labels that Speak Volumes
The Impact of Custom Label Stickers in a Branded World
Tumblr media
In a world filled with products and information, custom label stickers have emerged as silent yet powerful brand ambassadors. These little adhesive wonders do much more than convey product details; they tell a story, establish brand identity, and leave a lasting impression. These are versatile and impactful realms of custom label stickers and how they play a vital role in the world of branding.
Branding Beyond the Box
Custom label stickers are more than just tags on products; they are an extension of your brand. These stickers serve as miniature billboards, conveying your brand's message, logo, and identity in a compact and visually appealing format. From product packaging to promotional materials, custom labels are a versatile branding tool that goes beyond the box.
First Impressions Matter
The saying "Don't judge a book by its cover" may hold true in philosophy, but in the world of products, first impressions matter. Custom label stickers are often the first point of contact between a customer and your product. With eye-catching designs, vibrant colors, and quality printing, these stickers create a positive first impression that sets the stage for a memorable brand experience.
Versatility in Design
Customization is the heartbeat of label stickers. Whether it's a minimalist design, an intricate logo, or vibrant illustrations, the design possibilities are endless. Custom labels allow you to tailor the look and feel of your products, ensuring that each label reflects the uniqueness of your brand and product offering.
Storytelling in Small Spaces
In the limited space of a label, a brand has the opportunity to tell its story. Whether through concise copy, taglines, or visual elements, custom labels encapsulate the essence of your brand. This storytelling aspect creates a connection with customers, providing them with a glimpse into the values, quality, and personality of your brand.
Product Information and Transparency
Beyond aesthetics, label stickers are practical tools for conveying vital product information. From ingredients and usage instructions to safety guidelines, labels serve as a transparent communication channel between the brand and the customer. This transparency builds trust and establishes a sense of reliability with your audience.
Promotional Powerhouse
Custom label stickers are not confined to product packaging alone; they can be powerful promotional tools. Utilize them as giveaways at events, promotional stickers on merchandise, or even as part of your direct marketing campaigns. The compact size makes them an easily distributable and impactful promotional powerhouse.
Eco-Friendly Messaging
In an era of eco-conscious consumers, custom label stickers can convey your brand's commitment to sustainability. Opt for eco-friendly materials, use recyclable stickers, or include messaging about your brand's environmental initiatives. These subtle touches resonate with consumers who prioritize ethical and sustainable choices.
Custom label stickers are more than just adhesive pieces of paper; they are ambassadors of your brand, storytellers in small spaces, and practical tools for communication. From creating a memorable first impression to conveying essential product information, these little wonders play a crucial role in building a brand that speaks volumes. So, the next time you peel off a label, remember that you're not just removing a sticker – you're unveiling a brand's identity and leaving an indelible mark in the world of branding.

5 Tips to Strike a Balance Between Presentation Design and Delivery
Tumblr media
5 Ways to Balance Presentation Design and Delivery
Imagine that a particular presentation is being assigned to you and two of your colleagues to be delivered at similar conferences. Despite identical slides, your presentations will be individually different and diverse because of the way you present them.   Hence, it is vital to ensure that a good deck of slides is backed by great delivery, as there has to be a reciprocal relationship between the two for an excellent presentation!   Design and Delivery – The Two Sides of the Same Coin Design and delivery go hand in hand; one cannot function well without the other. For instance, your slides might have excellent visuals, the best curation of facts and figures, and the most spectacular themes, but if they are not complemented well with the right delivery, your design efforts can go down the drain! And the same applies vice-versa.   Thus, giving equal importance to design and delivery and striking a balance between them is crucial to ace your presentations. Here are a few tips that will help you do so -   - Weave and Narrate a Story Around the Core Message The best way to instantly hook your audience’s attention is by introducing anecdotes, experiences, and narrations. When people listen to stories, they immediately try to connect to them. The use of examples of real-life people in your presentations can help your viewers resonate better and retain information and concepts. It allows them to remember your presentation for much longer.   For instance, if you’re a teacher presenting to a group of students, remember to narrate the story of how Einstein was thrown out of school for being not bright. Later, with his efforts, he became one of the most celebrated scientists of all time.   The prime pathway to creating a great presentation is to focus on understanding the narrative. Presenting these narratives in an efficient manner can invite engagement and interaction and help you deliver an exquisite presentation.
Tumblr media
- Structure Your Content Well and Complement it with Your Voice The most important step in designing and delivering a presentation is creating its outline or a draft. This helps categorize information and craft a well-structured index.   Imagine sitting through a presentation with outstanding data, but everything seems all over the place with chaotic slides and unorganized delivery. No matter how informative the presentation, you would lose focus in a minute.   Along with content structure, the pace and tone of your volume also matter. Speaking too quickly or slowly can make your performance boring and unprofessional. Rather, utter words at a normal pace so your audience can follow your speech along your slides. Your pace also helps determine your dedication to the subject - when you deliver content in haste, it appears as if you wish to get over your presentation quickly. However, if you slow down excessively, you can make the topic seem uninteresting.   Thus, striking the right balance between your pace and delivery can determine the outcome of your presentation.   - Catch Audience's Eyes with High-Definition Visuals Graphics is one of the most preferred ways to convey information and depict data. However, it is extremely crucial to use visually appealing graphics that can captivate your audience in a blink. If you find creating such visuals from scratch difficult, try using pre-designed PowerPoint graphics and notch up your slides!   Well, upgrading to better visuals such as mind maps, flowcharts, and content organizers is necessary. Using organizers can help you impart factual information, depict various points, denote keywords and their meanings, etc. It is an excellent way to explain complex concepts in a gist.   Your graphics might represent the best data collection, but it would be of little or no value if you cannot explain them well to your audience. Hence, it is crucial to know your bar graphs, statistics, pie charts, and other diagrams in a detailed manner. It will help you establish your stature as a presenter and reflect your knowledge about the subject.   - Make Eye Contact Have you ever observed how people who speak without maintaining stable eye contact are often unsure of their words or are not confident about their speech? When you maintain eye contact, you foster engagement and interaction. Besides, maintaining eye contact will help you present your ideas assertively and attractively.   During your presentation, your audience will look at the slides and will draw their attention away from you. However, if your slides are not up to the mark, your viewers may find themselves lost or confused while juggling their attention between you and the presentation.   - Keep it Simple - One Takeaway Per Slide Let your audience seek your message. While crafting slides, ensure one slide revolves around a key takeaway or highlights a single topic. Avoid including multiple ideas in one slide, as it can get overwhelming and seem difficult to comprehend. You can try highlighting the main keywords and notes in the title or the subtitle.   It is also crucial to pay heed to your delivery. Make sure that you follow the principle of one concept at a time, and do not badger your audience with multiple ideas, as it could overwhelm them.   Conclusion It may not seem easy to balance design and delivery at the beginning of your few presentations. However, with ample practice and experience, you can master the skill and conquer the stage. We recommend you experiment by incorporating multiple ideas into your presentations and analyze your audience’s response to each one of them. You can use that feedback to guide you through your next presentation endeavors and notch up your game Read the full article

🥺 that mike lange story. But also those tags #sid loooves christmas #he loves giving presents #looks good in red #piles on the pounds fast #post hockey career as santa 😂😂👌🏽👌🏽
he loves his mementos and presents and is COMMITTED to them. scrapbooking. matching jackets. little pills with hidden motivational messages~*~ his love language is gifts and neck smooches and stalking geno. relevant right now are some anecdotes i sent a friend earlier this year for dorky sid gifts fic fodder:
1. Crosby's constant thoughtfulness would be impressive from anyone, much less someone of his stature.
"Sid always texts me happy birthday, he's always asking me like, how's Russia?" Evgeni Malkin said. "We talk and message all summer. He asks me how my skates are. He knows, like, everything. He follows my Instagram, I think (laughs)."
In addition to having a handle on those little details, Crosby is constantly providing those around him with memories and mementos. If the team is on the road and goes, say, sightseeing or to a sporting event and takes a group photo, Crosby will later send a framed copy to everyone.
When Ron Hextall and Brian Burke watched their first Penguins game in person, Crosby is the one who approached head equipment manager Dana Heinze and asked for two used game pucks to give to the new GM and president of hockey ops.
After the Penguins won in 2009, Crosby had jackets made for the three players on the team who had scored a Cup-clinching goal in Game 7: Talbot (Pittsburgh), Ruslan Fedotenko (Tampa Bay) and Mike Rupp (New Jersey).
"They were blue jackets with gold buttons, and each one had a patch on it that said 'GWG Game 7,'" Talbot said. "At one of our first team meals the next season, he presented us with the jackets and did a big ceremony with the music and stuff. We had a private room in the restaurant. I still have the jacket."
-The Consummate Teammate, Captain and Ambassador, Feb 2021
2. Merz: My first interaction with Sid was when we were on the bench, guys were talking about a teammate, and the first thing this 15-year-old says is, “Hey, guys. Let’s keep everything positive. Don’t talk about your teammates that way.”
Salcido: When we were getting ready for nationals, he found these little pills that you could put a hidden message inside. They unscrewed, and inside was a tiny scroll. He gave one to every teammate. … He had everyone fill one out. He didn’t tell anyone what to write, but he made it known that we all knew what the goal was: winning nationals. So we wrote on our scrolls, rolled them up and put them in the pill thing. We kept them with us everywhere we went.
-‘Is this real?’: Stories of Sidney Crosby’s year at a Minnesota prep school, May 2020
3. On “Butterfly Boy” Jonathan Pitre:
Though the Senators are his team, Sidney Crosby has always been Jonny’s favourite player. After the TSN documentary airs, Tina gets a call from the Penguins. Sid needs Jonny’s measurements. He wants to have a suit made for him by his personal tailor, Domenico Vacca.
“It’s the kindest, sweetest gesture,” Tina says. “Sid heard that Jonny went to a lot of games, so he wants him to look like he’s one of the guys.”
“I want him to feel like a pro,” Crosby says. “Here’s a guy who is going through something so painful, and his first thought is always, ‘How can I help others?’ When I was young, I’d watch on TV the players coming to the rink in their suits. That was a cool part of being an NHL player. I want him to feel that, to make it as real as possible for him.”
Tina tries to discreetly measure Jonny while she’s changing his dressings. But he’s way too smart for that.
“Um, Mom, why are you measuring me? Am I going for surgery again?” he asks.
“No, no!” Tina replies, trying to reassure him and come up with a good lie, all in the same breath. “The doctor needs them just to make sure they have proper dressings next time you are in.”
A few weeks later, the sharp navy blue suit shows up at their front door, along with a couple of ties, an autographed stick and a handwritten letter from Sid.
“His eyes just light up,” Tina says. “Jonny always liked to be well-dressed, and he just loves having his own suit. It fits perfectly. He looks so good in it.”
-Beauties by James Duthie (2020)
4. Pascal Dupuis inspired his Pittsburgh Penguins teammates on their run to the Stanley Cup, and Sidney Crosby found a special way of driving that message home.
Dupuis retired in December with lingering health concerns because of blood clots. Despite his NHL playing days coming to an end, the veteran forward remained an integral part of the Penguins and was in uniform to hoist the Cup after Pittsburgh's six-game win against the San Jose Sharks in the Stanley Cup Final.
On Sunday, Dupuis brought the Cup home one last time as a player to share a special day with his family, friends and hometown fans.
"Yes, it does feel bittersweet a little bit," Dupuis said. "You get the Cup, you want to celebrate. But at the same time I got a gift by the mail [Saturday]. Basically, it's a book of all the pictures of all the good stuff we went through. It came from Nova Scotia, so you guys can figure out who it came from (Crosby), but he couldn't give it to me during the season, he saw me skating a little bit.
"And he sent it [Saturday], before my day with the Cup, so he knew what he was doing to get me right here," Dupuis said, putting his fist over his heart.
-Pascal Dupuis shares Stanley Cup with family, friends, Aug 2016
5. In 2011, Crosby was out of the lineup with a concussion, and the Penguins made their annual visit to Children’s Hospital.
Crosby got along so well with one boy there and was so touched that he later asked Bullano to go back... just the two of them, no cameras, no attention.
When Bullano and Crosby met for the follow-up visit, Crosby appeared clutching a pair of Toys “R” Us bags, filled with a Transformer toy the two had discussed.
“He literally bought every type of this toy they make,” Bullano said. “[Crosby] had never seen it before and thought it was so cool.
“There are no pictures of this. There’s no video. He was laying in the bed with the kid. They were just playing. We were there for over two hours. I got to know the mom really well because we were just sitting there.
“The kid had no idea. Didn’t expect it. They had no idea he was coming. We got there and he said, ‘Hey buddy. hope you don’t mind that I came back.’ The kid couldn’t believe it.
“[Crosby’s] crazy cool about stuff like that.”
What’s crazy is trying to recount the many times stuff like this has happened with Crosby:
• The Little Penguins Learn to Play program has been around for nine seasons, outfitting now 1,200 kids with free head-to-toe hockey equipment. Not only does Crosby serve as the face of the program — which the NHL has now adopted — but he helps fund it, too.
“There’s an awareness of what a person in his position can bring,” Penguins vice president of communications Tom McMillan said. “I think he activates that as much as anybody I’ve seen during his playing career.”
• After a recent practice, Crosby noticed a local family in the Penguins dressing room, approached them, introduced himself, learned their story and wound up giving them a signed stick.
Nobody asked Crosby to do that, and he wanted zero credit when discussing it a couple days later.
“For people who have the opportunity to come in here, people dealing with certain things, if you can brighten their day a bit or spend some time with them, it’s something that’s special for all of us,” Crosby said.
• A few years ago, through a team charity event, Crosby befriended a 4-year-old Amish boy with cancer. Crosby remarked to Bullano how much he loved talking to the boy because of how engaging the boy was and how he wasn’t consumed with technology. Crosby even tried to visit the boy but learned he had passed away.
• He learns the first and last names of the kids who attend his hockey school in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia.
“Two kids came from Japan its first year,” Bullano recalled. “He was so blown away by that. He couldn’t wait to meet them.”
• Earlier this season, the Penguins welcomed Grant Chupinka, 24-year-old cancer patient, into the dressing room. Crosby chatted up Grant and his parents, Steve and Kim.
He spent his usual time — about two or three times the requirement. Gave the tour. Then found out the Chupinkas didn’t have tickets for that night’s game and decided he would pay for them to go.
“I’m sure he could just give them an autographed puck or something, but he takes his time to go out and see them and talk to them and get to know them,” Brian Dumoulin said. “It speaks volumes for him and who he is as a person.”
Spend any length of time with Crosby during his visits with those less fortunate, and a few things become obvious.
One, Crosby is really good at these. Smooth but not in a slimy way. Sweet. You know how when you’re around someone talking and they go out of their way to make eye contact with everyone around? That’s Crosby.
He’s also humble, always introducing himself like those he’s meeting don’t already know. Holding a hand is no issue. And Crosby is the rare 20-something pro athlete without kids who acts every bit like he does.
“It is not an easy situation to talk to someone with terminal cancer,” McMillan said. “A lot of people couldn’t do that. He has an amazing ability to do that and make that person feel good.”
Crosby has welcomed several Make-a-Wish kids and tries, if at all possible, to schedule such events for practice days — to maximize the time he’s able to spend.
He’s developed a special friendship with Patrick McIlvain, a soldier who nearly died when he took a bullet to the head in Afghanistan. McIlvain actually does physical therapy with one of Crosby’s sticks.
A former club hockey player at Cal U, McIlvain comes by every year, and the Penguins don’t even bother to tell Crosby. Either he already knows or immediately stops what he’s doing to come say hello.
“He’s not doing it to leave a legacy,” said Terry Kalna, Penguins vice president of sales and broadcasting. “His numbers leave the legacy. He’s just a down-to-Earth, good guy.”
Before a visit, Crosby has Bullano email him what is essentially a scouting report on who he’s going to meet. He likes to learn about them, their situation and what they’ve been through. As much information as he can ingest. Crosby never just swoops in, shake a hand and leave.
“As much as anyone has ever seen, he accepts the responsibilities of being not just a professional athlete but a star professional athlete,” McMillan said. “He views it as part of the job. Like coming to the morning skate. That’s just what you do.”
Put another way, “he owns those moments,” says Kalna.
Said Bullano, “He’s just a good human being.”
-When it comes to giving, Sidney Crosby does as much as he can, Feb 2017
6. When Crosby received a generous signing bonus on his Reebok deal, he wanted to share it with everyone.
“He gave everyone on the bus gifts,”  says Oceanic radio commentator Michel Germain. “Him sharing his bonus with all the people he’d been travelling with for two years, that impresses me greatly. I think the most important thing about Sidney Crosby is his personality and the kind of human being he is. What he exuded. The inner richness he’d already developed.”
-Superstitious and generous, Dec 2006
7. also this simply because it makes me ;w;
Even in defeat — no, especially in defeat — Sidney Crosby proved why he wears the "C" for the Penguins.
After the game, with his heart sinking and his season over, the Penguins’ captain bent over, sank to the ice to pick up the puck, took it to linesman Tony Sericolo and then skated to his team’s handshake line.
I immediately thought of a View from Ice Level I’d written on Crosby making sure a retiring official was sent away from PPG Paints Arena properly. I knew picking up the puck wasn’t for the same reason that was, but I also knew, in some way, it was connected to Crosby’s awareness and respect of the game.
“It was for the Islanders,” Crosby told me after the game, his eyes swollen from a first round exit – by way of a sweep to make it worse. He told me how the winning team always wanted the puck, and it was his way of providing it for the Islanders.
Crosby looked me right in the eye as he told me this, just as he did with every other member of the media to come to him after the loss.
I could tell from those swollen eyes and the way he sat at his stall, by himself with his hands folded as he stared blankly, that Sidney Crosby is much more used to being on the receiving end of a puck when a series ends than he is at retrieving it for the winning team.
That scene. His swollen eyes. Staying in the locker room until most had left – talking to anyone who needed him. Most of all, though, picking up the puck that prompted my question in the first place and making sure the right people got their piece of their own history.
It all adds up to one thing: In victory and in defeat, Crosby respects the game above all else – just as he’s always done.
-Even in defeat, Crosby shines, April 2019

[CN] Winning the Championship Date
🍒 Warning: This post contains detailed spoilers for a date, 夺冠之约, which has not been released in EN! 🍒
Tumblr media
[ Released on 28 September 2021 ]
The vibrations of my phone rouse me from the tediously long document. After looking at the caller, I answer it hurriedly.
MC: Gavin? Has your mission ended?
Gavin (on the phone): Soon. I’ll be back before the weekend. I should be able to make it in time for that café event you mentioned.
I suddenly recall how I had mentioned this event to Gavin before he left for the mission last month, but...
MC: Sob sob. I can’t go this weekend. I’m producing a new show, so I’ve been busier lately.
Gavin (on the phone): Is it a difficult show?
MC: A little bit... Come to think of it, Gavin, what type of sports shows appeal to you?
Gavin (on the phone): ...appeal to me? Competitive sports with commentators.
Just as I’m hesitating on whether to tell him about the problems I’m facing, someone on the other end of the line seems to be calling for him.
MC: Go and do your thing. I’m not facing any issues.
Gavin (on the phone): Okay. Contact me anytime if needed.
Right after hanging up, Minor knocks on the door and comes in.
Tumblr media
Minor: Boss, I’ve made the arrangements for the collaborative filming of “Life’s Limits” with the City Sports and Culture Bureau. As per your request, I’ve selected a group of amateur racing hobbyists. The name list and materials have been sent to your e-mail.
MC: You’ve worked hard.
Minor: Boss, why don’t you take a break? Your dark circles have appeared.
MC: The company competing with us for this project is Light Media, and it’s much more experienced in producing sports shows as compared to us. We can’t let our guard down.
After more than half a month of research, I locked in my decision regarding the filming site - Hurricane Club.
This club is very well-known amongst motorcycle enthusiasts, and often organises competitions for amateurs.
This weekend, the club will be conducting a three-day training, and participants will be guided by professional coaches. There will even be a friendly race at the end.
The competition has a very novel format - it’s a three-person relay.
I intend to search for three photogenic motorists to form a small team. By following their daily experiences throughout the entire process, including their training sessions and the race, I’d produce a story about the team.
Minor: Boss, according to your request, isn’t the best choice Bro Gavin?
MC: That’s true...
During the initial planning stage, the first person I thought of was actually Gavin.
However, he doesn’t like appearing on shows, and was only willing to appear in previous shows because of me.
Moreover, he’s been away for a mission which lasted close to a month, and should get a proper rest over the weekend.
MC: In short, he... doesn’t quite fit the standard. You can leave work for now.
After sending Minor away, I re-focus on the thick stack of materials in front of me.
-
Before the peak hour on Friday, I head towards Hurricane Club in a rental car. While doing pre-filming checks, I answer the phone.
Minor: Boss, the three people we agreed on have set out. I’ve also found a suitable substitute. After careful selection, he’s definitely a top quality choice. I can guarantee that nothing will go wrong! You’ll get to see him once you reach the club! Boss, thanks for your hard work!
Before I have a chance to probe further, the dial tone sounds in the next second.
MC: This fellow is once again acting first before reporting afterwards... there shouldn’t be a problem, right?
Tumblr media
Upon reaching the club, I meet up with the three team members we had contacted earlier.
Based on background research conducted by the company, they are generally outstanding, and are very enthusiastic when it comes to racing.
One of them is a young participant called Kelly, who obtained an amateur championship title in the past.
I quickly introduce the details of the shoot to them.
MC: Bro Liu, Xiao Yu, Kelly, thank you all for participating in this shoot. Afterwards, the club will be allocating you to your coaches for guidance. Even though this team was put together at short notice, I hope everyone can have faith in each other, and motivate each other. We also prepared a substitute team member...
??: Sorry I’m late.
A familiar voice drifts from behind me, and I immediately turn around.
Tumblr media
Sunlight falls on every step Gavin takes towards me. The pair of eyes looking at me are bright and clear.
Gavin: I’m the substitute team member, Gavin. I’ve kept you waiting, Producer.
-
After the club assigns the coaches and enters the test run phase, I finally digest the “unexpected surprise” of Gavin’s sudden appearance.
I initially think of finding a chance to talk to him privately, but the coaches who arrive one after another leave me with no choice but to retract the gaze which keeps straying towards that figure.
I shake my head, forcing myself to focus on my current task. By the time all the filming angles are checked, most of the morning has already gone by.
Scanning my surroundings, I don’t see Gavin anywhere.
MC: ...where is he?
-
Walking along the racetrack and towards the vending machine, I decide to get a bottle of coffee to fill myself up before looking for Gavin.
Perhaps because I didn’t have breakfast, I suddenly feel dizzy after taking a few sips.
Tumblr media
By the time I regain my senses, I’m carried over to a long bench by a familiar force. Meeting Gavin’s evidently frantic gaze, I quickly tug the corners of my lips upwards into a smile.
MC: Gavin, I was just about to look for you. Turns out you were here.
He doesn’t speak. Lifting his hand, he wipes away the thin sheen of sweat on my forehead lightly. Then, a breeze envelops me gently, warm and comforting.
He takes the coffee in my hand smoothly, then retrieves soya milk and a sandwich from the bag in his hand.
Gavin: Eat your breakfast.
MC: ...okay, I’ll listen to Sir Gavin.
I munch on the sandwich obediently, occasionally blinking at Gavin to convey a message which says, “I feel much better, so there’s no need to worry”.
Gavin’s slightly furrowed brows finally arch subconsciously.
Gavin: I heard from Minor that you’ve been working overnight to prepare for this show.
MC: Haha, don’t listen to his nonsense. It isn’t that exaggerated...
Gavin: I also heard that I didn’t fit the standard. What standard did you set?
MC: ...
I clench my fists in secret, condemning Minor from the bottom of my heart for his “heinous act” of betraying me.
MC: I can explain! You don’t like appearing on camera, and your identity in STF is a pretty sensitive topic...
Tumblr media
Gavin: Mm, you’re right.
Gavin deliberately elongates his words, as though he doesn’t plan to let the matter go just like this.
Tumblr media
Gavin: So what’s your standard?
MC: ...we hope for the motorists to have a certain level of professional competence, to be sufficiently photogenic, and most importantly, to have an enthusiastic heart. But I really didn’t mean to say that you didn’t fit this standard!
Tumblr media
Gavin is finally unable to suppress the upward turn of his lips.
Gavin: Once you’re done today, sleep early tonight.
-
The training proceeds methodically, and filming goes very smoothly.
The roar of motors drift from the club’s racetrack, and motorcycles of every hue speed freely along the racetrack.
In the camera lens, two blue and white motorcycles seem to be speeding at the same pace, as though they’d break through the finish line at the same time.
Kelly: Have you ever participated in professional racing?
Tumblr media
Gavin: Nope.
Kelly: The way you cornered the motorcycle a few times - you can’t do that with ease without a few years of experience. How did you do it?
Gavin: I just drive often.
Kelly: Let’s find a chance to ride together some time.
Kelly pats him on the shoulder before continuing the training. Gavin walks over to me, twisting open a bottle of water before taking a sip.
Tumblr media
Gavin: Is filming going well?
MC: There’s too much footage from the training sessions. I might consider adding a special segment for interviews.
While speaking, I’m struck with an idea.
MC: Mr Gavin, why don’t you have a pre-interview with me to test out the effects?
I lift a bottle of water towards Gavin.
MC: What made you like motorcycles?
Gavin: I don’t have a precise answer. By the time I realised it, I already liked them.
MC: In that case, are there any motorcycle-related experiences which left a deep impression on you?
Tumblr media
Gavin is silent for a moment. He seems to think of something, then chuckles softly.
Tumblr media
Gavin: The time it overturned.
MC: Overturned? When did that happen? You can tell me in secret - this will definitely not be disclosed to the public.
Gavin looks at me, and he speaks in a volume only the both of us can hear -
Gavin: [whispers] The time when I rode on a snowmobile with the girl I like.
The snow field in my memories is cold, but the breath at my ear causes the temperature of my ear to rise.
[Note] This is a reference to Snow Mountain Date
MC: [blushing] Cough, that was...
All of a sudden, a clamour from the racetrack interrupts my words. The both of us stand up, only to discover that a motorcycle has overturned on the track.
Many people are standing at the side, and some call out for the medical staff.
Tumblr media
Gavin: That seems to be Old Liu. Let’s go over to have a look.
-
Tumblr media
Doctor: There are soft tissue injuries to your wrist and leg. Recuperate properly over this duration, and don’t engage in any intense activities.
Bro Liu: What about the competition tomorrow...
MC: Bro Liu, just recuperate. The doctor said that once your injuries are healed, you can still ride motorcycles in the future.
Bro Liu glances at Gavin.
Bro Liu: I guess I must admit that I’m getting old. It’s time to hand the baton to the young.
After contacting Minor and telling him about what happened, Gavin and I leave the hospital.
MC: Bro Liu worked so hard over the past two days. He must have really wanted to participate in tomorrow’s competition...
Tumblr media
Gavin: In that case, we’ll work hard together with his effort. This is when the substitute steps in.

Tumblr media
It’s the night before the competition, and I’m looking through the contents of the edited shoot over the past two days in my room.
After cutting the cornering training, I modify it into a slow-motion feature, then insert a few casual interactions between the team members as embellishments.
But no matter how I edit it, the clip is unable to convey the feelings I hoped it would.
I grab my hair in frustration, unwilling to accept my defeat. I locate the original video, watching it from the start.
The sound of the doorbell interrupts my slightly muddy train of thoughts. Opening the door, I see Gavin standing outside.
Tumblr media
Gavin: I saw that the lights were still on in your room, so I came over to take a look. Why aren’t you sleeping?
MC: Gavin...
Hearing the gloominess in my tone, he takes my hand and pulls me over to sit down on the sofa.
Gavin: Filming didn’t go well?
Placing the notebook laptop between us, I play the recording.
MC: For this shoot, I wanted to edit it into a small unscripted story to showcase the competitiveness and fun of being a racer. As of now, the story aspect is going smoothly, and the interactions between people are interesting too. But I think it’s missing something which can grab one’s attention immediately...
Gavin looks at the screen and ponders for a moment. Then, he suddenly asks me a question.
Tumblr media
Gavin: Want to go for a stroll? It’s too stuffy in the room. Getting some fresh air might give you new inspiration.
-
Likely to conserve energy for the competition tomorrow, everyone has returned to rest very early, and the racetrack is completely empty.
Gavin leaps onto the bleachers, then reaches out to me.
Tumblr media
Gavin: Let’s go for a spin.
He takes my hand, guiding me onto the vehicle. Then, he puts on a helmet for me, teaching me how to grab the throttle and brakes.
MC: Gavin, are you sure this is okay?
Gavin: You can’t go onto the road, but we’re still within the venue. After filming for days, don’t you want to experience it yourself?
MC: I want to!
Gavin sits behind me, two arms securing me steadily in his arms.
Along with the familiar sound of the engine, the motorcycle moves. The speed is incredibly steady, and is just right for enjoying the pleasant evening breeze.
MC: Gavin, can we go a little faster?
Tumblr media
Gavin: We can. Sit tight.
A loud roar drifts to my ears, and the motorcycle flies forward like an arrow leaving a bow.
Very soon, the most difficult part of the racetrack appears, comprising of consecutive bends. During the training sessions, many motorists faced many trials at this area.
Gavin grips my hand, loosening the throttle, causing the the motorcycle to slow down.
MC: There’s no need to step on the brakes?
Gavin: No need. Engine braking is enough to reduce the speed.
While speaking, the motorcycle tilts at an unbelievable angle at a turn. Gavin controls the direction with composure, air currents at the side keeping the motorcycle steady.
The motorcycle dangerously yet steadily completes the curved track, returning onto a straight track and picking up speed once again.
Gavin: MC, can you see where the cameras are? That’s the goal. On the racetrack, that’s the only thing in a racer’s eyes.
The sound of wind at my ears seems to quieten down. The moment we charge past the finishing line, I suddenly have a feeling that a full stop has been drawn on the racetrack.
Even after the motorcycle makes its gradual halt, I’m unable to return to my senses.
Seeming to understand my silence, Gavin doesn’t speak. He simply pushes the motorcycle that I'm on patiently, walking slowly.
MC: Gavin, I know what this story is missing. Stirring the emotions of viewers requires the most important thing which can make them seethe with excitement -
Gavin: Winning the championship.
MC: That’s right. All the effort from before is meant for the final sprint towards the goal. Winning the championship is the core of a competitive spirit, and is also what the show’s theme of “limit” is seeking after. But... Gavin, do you think we have a chance at winning the championship tomorrow?
Gavin: Yes. But while we’re improving, others are improving as well. Everyone on the racetrack will be aiming towards victory. The people you selected are very outstanding. Believe in them, and believe in yourself.
MC: Mm, everyone has already worked very hard. When it comes to winning, it’s good enough if they try their best.
Gavin parks the motorcycle properly, then carries me down from it.
Tumblr media
Gavin: Go back and have a good sleep. You don’t have to worry too much about the competition tomorrow.
-
Tumblr media
It’s finally time for the competition. Seeing the filled audience seats, I feel incredibly nervous.
Kelly: I didn't expect to see so many people.
MC: It’s a Sunday, and the club decided to open the venue to the public as publicity.
I take a deep breath to calm my emotions.
MC: Let’s enjoy the fun of racing to our heart’s content! Shall we do a pre-competition ceremony?
Tumblr media
While speaking, I stretch out my hand. Gavin cooperates, placing his palm over the back of my hand. He gives it a gentle pinch, and it feels as though an endless stream of strength is being transmitted.
It’s a sense of security belonging only to Gavin.
MC: Safety first, the competition second. Everyone, all the best!
Tumblr media
All the motorists have taken their places at the starting line. Based on prior suggestions by the club, I’ve arranged Kelly to take on the first battle, and Gavin will be the finale.
With the green light signalling the start of the competition, twenty motorcycles which have been waiting for action seem to sprint forward at the same time.
The sound of motor engines causes everyone’s adrenaline to spike, and the crowd becomes immersed in the competition.
I’m positioned closest to the audience seats. This is the first time I’m viewing a competition from such a close distance. Even though it’s an amateur competition, it’s sufficiently astounding.
Xiao Yu makes a few minor mistakes at the bends, causing the team to lag behind temporarily.
Carefully observing the changes on the racetrack, I don’t feel overly anxious.
Because it’d be Gavin’s turn next. With him around, I always feel exceptionally at ease.
I look at Gavin as he waits at the handover area with a helmet over his head. He seems to sense my gaze, and turns around to see my thumbs up.
In the next second, his motorcycle charges into the racetrack.
The blue and white motorcycle courses past the bends nimbly in almost “L” shape movements.
As compared to my experience last night, I can see Gavin’s cornering techniques even more clearly from the audience seats.
Although the camera is unable to capture his expression, it isn’t difficult to imagine his focused and bright eyes from underneath the helmet.
When the competition enters its final round, Gavin has already reached the second place, and there’s hardly any difference between him and the first competitor.
The audience’s emotions are stirred by this intense competition, and the sound of cheers surge forward like a tide.
I find myself being influenced as well, staring fixedly at that sprinting figure.
After the upcoming bend, the goal will not be far.
Unexpectedly, a motorcycle behind suddenly accelerates towards the bend, using its full strength to make a last effort.
However, the motorcycle tilts too much. It’s clear that the centre of gravity was not controlled properly, sending the motorist collapsing onto the track.
At this point, Gavin’s motorcycle is already over half of the bend. He controls the dip of the motorcycle, barely avoiding the fallen vehicle.
Because of this incident, some distance is pulled between himself and the motorist in first place.
On the straight road, Gavin’s motorcycle suddenly accelerates, keeping pace with the motorist in front.
In this moment, time seems to slow down. I hold my breath, feeling as though my spirit has become one with that sprinting figure.
The rustling of leaves, the flapping wings of birds, the yelling of the audience, the checkered flag waving mid-air... all of them gather into one voice-
Tumblr media
Announcer: The first place goes to No. 07!
On the big screen, Gavin’s name is listed impressively at the top.
At the final moment, he attained first place with a 0.06 second difference, winning the championship.
Tumblr media
Gavin did it!
The motorcycle comes to a gradual halt. Gavin removes his helmet, droplets of sweat reflecting bright rays of light beneath the sunlight.
The smile on his face is sparkling and dazzling, bringing with it the confidence belonging to a victor.
Such a result is both unexpected yet within my expectations.
Gavin turns around, looking squarely in my direction.
He shakes his head casually, which has gotten messy from his helmet, and says two words.
Gavin: We won.
-
The employees push the motorcycles back to the venue. Gavin heads over to the referee’s seat, lowers his head and says a few things before walking to me.
Tumblr media
The gold medal in his hand dangles slightly, reflecting a dazzling light.
Cheers from the surroundings grow brighter as he draws closer. Separated by the bleachers, he stretches out his hand towards me -
He leans over the bleachers slightly. As he draws closer, I can detect the scent belonging only to Gavin.
Gavin hangs the medal around my neck, announcing our victory.
Gavin: The champion title - we’ve got it.
My mouth opens, but I have no idea what to say. My body reacts faster than my brain. I stretch out both arms, hugging him with all the strength in my body.
Scorching warmth and the dampness of sweat from the competition linger on him.
Tumblr media
Gavin returns the embrace. It’s as though this hug is enough for us to understand each other’s sentiments.
Gavin: I think I heard you cheering me on.
MC: I did it so softly, but you could hear it?
Gavin: Mm, the wind told me. Everything you say - I can hear them.
MC: There’s still one thing the wind hasn’t had the time to tell you. I’ll say it myself right now.
Turning my face to the side, I bring it close to his ear.
MC: Gavin, you’ll always be the only champion in my heart.
