So before I went on my study abroad program, the school gave us a pamphlet that warned us that while traveling we would experience a "W" of feelings.
When we first got there it'd be so exciting that we'd initially be at the top of the beginning of the W The longer we were gone from home and the more culture shock we experienced, those feelings would dip into homesickness and missing people: the first bottom of the W But after that, our emotions would level out again back up to where we miss home a little less and appreciate where we are (and then we experience it all over again when we come home: the second dip in the W)
I feel like, for Ted, we started s3 at the bottom of the first dip, but then saw him go back up the other side throughout the season.
Which is why when people say that he started off sad and questioning so of course he had to go back, that just doesn't make sense to me.
'Cause of course his excitement levels for being in a new place dipped and his homesickness increased, that literally happens to everyone when they travel long term
And yeah, if Henry and Michelle had moved to England, they'd experience that first U, but it'd probably be easier for them than Ted, considering how often they'd visited and the community they already had waiting for them

recently the rwrb quote that has been most resonating with me is "'[it's] fine. it's all very deeply fine. a whole lifetime of fine. ... that's not good enough for me.'" and it got me thinking that even though henry is the one who says this, who has been more explicitly struggling with believing that his sexuality was a bad thing, arguably alex has been suffering some of the same issues.
even though in a lot of ways alex is very unapologetic about himself, largely gained from being half mexican in america, during his sexuality crisis he comes to realize that he largely tried to avoid the epiphany of being bi because of how it got in the way of his "universally appealing" public persona of fsotus, especially since his race already feels like one strike against him.
and i guess i just find it so compelling that both henry and alex are struggling with the same things of wishing for that sort of acceptability and trying to avoid some part of who they are, despite being very different people who deal with that issue in vastly different ways, yet through their growing relationship they decide that they don't want to hide forever and try to be acceptable to the entire public. yes, they were forcibly outed and that was horrible, but even before that they decided that they would tell people eventually.
alex is the one to decide first when he chooses henry over that universal acceptability—he could have simply let henry go after he fled the new years party. but alex didn't. he cornered henry at the correspondence dinner and dragged him into the red room to finally resolve months of tension between the two of them.
henry makes the choice later: after alex flies across the atlantic ocean to call him an obtuse fucking asshole and then he sees philip the next day who is the outcome of looking for that universal acceptability. and that's when henry decides it's actually not good enough for him, not after a lifetime of already doing that. regardless of how terrifying being honest and trying for happiness is, maybe the alternative is just as, if not more, terrifying
ultimately at its core rwrb is a story about two people who have been told/made to believe that some part of them, of their identity, is wrong and bad but through meeting and getting to know each other they slowly unravel that belief and choose to be themselves and to be happy, regardless of what the rest of the world says. and given the legislation that's been sweeping through america in the last few years, i think that that's really beautiful and special and kind of what a lot of people deserve to hear.

Omg hi!! Could you do make a pt 2 of fights and fast cars?... Maybe the reader divorcing John Price and well... not forgiving him for what he's done?
Tumblr media
If you asked anyone what Captain John Price was most proud of in his whole life, they knew without a doubt his answer would have something to do with you. He took such pride in you and his relationship with you. He lived off of the way you looked at him. The way he was able to keep that lovestruck glint in your eye no matter how long the two of you had been together. He reveled in the feelings he got when someone asked him how he was able to keep someone like you so infatuated with him. He couldn’t help but puff his chest when someone came to him for relationship advice, because there was one thing no one could ever deny:
John Price was a fantastic Husband.
He was a fantastic husband.
That night changed everything. He took the easy way out. Leaving an ‘I’m sorry’ note on the fridge before he left for three months. The first week he was away he had the chance to call you. Pour his heart out, beg you for forgiveness. Remind you how much he loves you. How he would kill and be killed for you in a heartbeat. Yet he just stood there. Staring at the small burner phone in his shaking palm.
He hated himself enough for the both of you.
Everyone quickly noticed the shift. The always present loveglow he had was completely gone. He was a ghostly color- besides the red the that never left his eyes. He was completely dead. Only speaking to bark something out. They didn’t know the pain he was in. His heart constantly constricting in his chest. He wasn’t able to sleep because all he could think about was the sobs that left your body that night. He could hear them all the way from the living room. The look of complete and utter heartbreak as you watch the love of your life beat you down with words. He had shattered your world completely. He knew the comfort you found in him. He was a natural protector and he scared you more than anyone ever had. It was the most torturous experience of his life. Yet all he did was sit there and let silent tears roll down his face.
He hated himself enough for the both of you.
That still doesn’t mean he was prepared for the sealed envelope on his desk. He shook his head choosing not to believe it even as his eyes skimmed over the words: Petition for Divorce. He calmly got up and locked his office door- spending the rest of the day getting drunk and sobbing in the dark room.
He ended up throwing the papers away.
Another envelope arrived on his desk exactly five days later. The same contents inside.
He threw those away too.
He thought maybe if he ignored it it would go away. You were upset at him- rightfully so- and this was your way of getting back at him. Threatening to take away the most important thing in his life, you. It was five days later when a man appeared standing outside his office.
“John Price?”
“No.” He responded quickly.
“You’re not John Price?” The man’s brows furrowed.
“I don’t want whatever it is you have.” John growled, unlocking the door to his office. The man followed him inside not waiting for an invitation. The room smelled heavily of tobacco. Cigarettes and cigars had been put out all over the room and dodging empty bottles was a workout in its own. The man looked around the room like he was collecting evidence against John. Maybe he was.
“You’ve made that clear.” The man sighed. “I’m Henry Sullivan of Sullivan and sons”-
“Are you a Sullivan or a son?” John sneered, leaning back in his desk chair. Henry offered him a curt smile.
“I know this is a rough time for you.” Henry empathized taking another slow look around the room. “This is what your wife wants though.”
John’s face curled, he jaw clenched tightly. The tears seemed to be never ending as his eyes welled up again.
“No she doesn’t.” John responded. “She’s punishing me- which I deserve. But she doesn’t want this.” He spat.
“John.” Henry sighed. He took it upon himself to clean off a seat and sit across from John. “Your wife describe to me what happened that night. I think she’s being very generous in her asking for alimony given how things ended. If you don’t take this deal then we’ll have to take another course of action that’ll cost you much, much more.”
“She can have it.” John sighed. “I’m not signing the papers.”
Henry sighed and nodded his head.
“You’re just going to hurt her more John.” Henry groaned, standing up. John shooks his head, continuing his streak of denial. “You still have seventy days to sign those papers before she is automatically granted a divorce.”
John’s head snapped up.
“How can she get a divorce if I don’t sign it?”
“You can’t force someone to be with you John.” Henry closed the door behind him.
You can’t force someone to be with you.
Those words rang over and over in his mind. A dark cloud of shame fell over John for what seemed like the millionth time in the past three weeks. A pained groan left his lips. His head was throbbing, his eyes burned and he had forgotten how it felt to not have a wince worthy ache in his chest.
He meant it when he said you could have everything. All he needed was a hundred a week to spur his addictions. You could have all the money in the account- and any money that would be deposited in the future. He could live in his office.
Maybe he could get your wedding album. He doubted that you would want it anyways. It would just be a reminder of how he let you down.
There was a knock at the door. Groaning he stood up, his feet kicking bottles across the room as he walked.
“For you Captain.” A mail girl held up a neatly sealed envelope for him. He didn’t bother any pleasantries and shut the door.
“It never fucking ends.” He grumbled. Yet he didn’t want it to end. That would mean you were gone. No return address. He ripped it open.
When did you give up so easily?
Your handwriting. He sunk to the ground, catching himself enough to stumble to the couch.
I really mean that little to you?
You meant everything to him.
Please sign the papers so we can both move on.
He would never be able to move on.
He placed the paper gently on the desk grabbing a pen and paper of his own.
Three hours and twenty seven pages later- he was finished. He had poured everything out. Tears stained the paper- showing his sincerity. Spelling mistakes and messy handwriting a sign of his urgency. You had been right. He’d been treating you like you were the one who was in the wrong.
He sealed the papers, brushing past people as he made his way down to the mail room.
He didn’t know if this would fix anything.
He couldn’t bear the thought of you thinking you meant so little to him.
Even if you divorced him and this letter didn’t change anything. He would spend the rest of what little life he had making sure you knew how much you meant to him.

"You could live a hundred lifetimes...and never deserve that girl".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now I wanna talk about it. Look I was all for Chenry in Henry Danger but I fear Danger Force has made me see Chenry realistically.
Henry literally abandoned Charlotte at the worst time possible. He came back to Swellview on the run and just ghosted her. In her messages, she was clearly in distress, all she wanted to know was if he was okay, and he deleted her messages and cut off contact. I mean, you could say that maybe he left her because he wanted to keep her safe, but all the times he's been back, he showed no remorse, not even a mention of her. Henry is even dating, so obviously, he's not trying to be lowkey anymore and isn't as scared of blackout finding him.
Charlotte has been there for Henry through everything, and she cares for him so deeply. I bet she's trying to help him and could most definitely solve the issue if they worked through it together, especially since Charlotte has powers now, but it's like he's not even listening to her.
And come on, Charlotte not going to college isn't realistic and true to her character at all. I don't believe for one second that her original plan was to go to dystopia to fight crime until Henry had that whole breakdown about never living his life. She most definitely gave up continuing her education because Henry didn't have anything in mind after graduating, so she joined him on his journey to finding himself because she loves him that much and they've never been apart. She gave up the rest of her life for Henry, and she's been doing so since the beginning. Yes, I doubt Henry asked her to do that but that's the point...he didn't have to.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seriously, can you imagine Charlotte absolutely losing her mind over Henry just suddenly disappearing after everything she's done for him. I know she cares about him more than anyone in the world, and he just ran away from her.
Their relationship became the definition of "I knew you when you were a boy" because as the season went on, you can see how much care and love Henry had for Charlotte started to dim down. He goes from taking time to listen to her, advocating for her, and he acknowledged how much he needed her. Vs when they grew up, he kind of started taking advantage of the fact that she was always going to stick by him so he didn't show his appreciation for her as much and went against her her better judgement most of the time. She's proven countless times that she's fiercely loyal to him and is willing to go down with him in the end, and it's just not enough.
Their relationship is so painfully relatable to girls who watched the boys they grew up with turn into carbon copy men.
Now, with the Henry Danger movie coming soon, idk if Charlotte is gonna be a part of the storyline, but if she isn't im gonna go with it's because she realized how draining it is to maintain her relationship with Henry and that she tried her best to work them though so she started living life for herself for the first time and no matter how much it hurts, it's for the best.

today's dndads was so fucking good and people are making good points about the parallels and cycles of Henry not being proud of Sparrow, and then Sparrow not being proud of Normal which is all so real and heartwrenching. I also noticed something in addition to that when they came back from the past and he started to walk into the woods.
I haven't been able to stop thinking about last episode when Normal said something to Scam about "I can't be around another adult who thinks they deserve to die." The twins are the main adults in his life that think like this, especially with Lark's whole "if someone's going to die for this, it's going to be me" attitude. One of my friends told me about a really good post they saw (although they couldn't find it :( ) about how this is an effect of the adults in Normal's life not wanting to take accountability. They want it to be fixed, but they'd rather die to punish themselves instead of stick around to help fix it.
Normal is sick of this behavior and this seniment. Lark, Sparrow, and the other kiddads ROYALLY fucked up everyone's life -- even though it's their fault Normal would rather see them do something about it. Which makes a lot of fucking sense? He's been around this his entire life, and since learning about Code Purple it's just gotten worse.
Which is why him trying to just walk out into the woods struck me as so interesting. Obviously, baby Normal was not responsible for releasing the flesh monster onto D.A.D.D.I.E.S HQ just like Lark was not responsible for releasting the Doodler. The way I see it, Lark blames himself wholeheartedly for this whole mess. Sparrow too. Their self-hatred only festers into an immensely heavy guilt. It's hard to get out from under those huge feelings. And, yeah, it would be easier to just die -- to punish themselves for fucking up so bad -- than having to figure out a way to fix it. It feels hopeless.
Normal has a moment with that guilt in this episode. He fully believes that it's his fault Code Purple ever happened, and that guilt makes him feel like he needs to isolate himself. It's the same principle of wanting to avoid whatever fucked up shit comes after. Normal can't help but feel that hopelessness that runs in his family -- he's not good enough for these awesome, helpful people because all he's done so far is fuck things up. And despite resenting this behavior from the adults in his life, he falls back into it. Because what is he supposed to do? He's just a kid who messes things up no matter how hard he tries to fix it. Why would his friends even want him around anyway? They're the ones who are actually saving the world.
I just really love the way dndads works with cycles. There are so many and they're all so good (and heartbreaking).

just curious why didn’t you like red white and royal blue !!! i haven’t watched it but i know someone who was literally raving about it so i’m curious to why you didn’t like it
oh god just a lot of things I fear... I'll try to make an itemized list of em
one of the lead actors could not act his way out of a wet paper bag. like genuinely one of the worst performances I've seen. the guy playing henry was fine but the guy playing alex was just incredibly bad and it was impossible to ignore
it was generally just. not a very good movie. like extremely twee and shallow writing. if this movie were exactly the same shot-for-shot but it featured a heterosexual couple it would be thoroughly and completely indistinguishable from any other hallmark channel drivel. I know people love to say "ohhh gay people also deserve stupid bad movies!!!" but I disagree. we should simply make good movies instead
a good amount of massively corny dialogue
the politics were just... deeply 2016. very bad. it absolutely epitomizes the whole miserable genre of liberal 'escapist fiction' that's completely focused on putting queer people or people of color in positions of power within an exploitative system instead of sparing a single thought about whether that system should exist in the first place
like sorry but writing a narrative about the british royal family where the uncritical happy ending is "adoring crowds affirm the beloved hereditary prince's place in the hereditary hierarchy" is just. come on man. come on
similarly just an absolutely uncritical and wholly positive take on the office of united states president. laughable
the whole scene where uma thurman asks alex if he's on truvada in that unbearable fake southern accent. uncanny. also texans don't sound like that
the pacing was bad, bad, baddddd. everything happened far too fast, probably as a symptom of trying to adapt a several hundred page long book into a two hour movie. it felt like I was watching some sort of abridged version of the movie for like the entire first half of the film
this is a small thing but the production value just seemed really bad. like it was serving youtube webseries. which isn't necessarily the worst thing in the world but combined with the acting and the writing it certainly didn't do the movie any favors
this is also more of a personal pet peeve and I recognize that but the score was obviously just pulled from a generic stock music library and I really hated it. it was just very obnoxious and on the nose. I get it's often unavoidable but I'm a big stock music score hater

Okay
So
I think this is how you request? I’ve never requested anything before >w<
But before I do that I wanted to applaud you for all your hard work!!! You are such an amazing writer, one of favorites atm, and you definitely deserve some praise!!!
For my request, I’m not sure if you are still into Ouat or Peter Pan from the show, but I’m like, obsessed. I’ve had this soulmate idea in which Peter pan’s plan to steal the heart of the truest believer failed, so now he has to take the heart of his soulmate. This is harder for him because he doesn’t know how to love. He hates it out of fear of what it could do to him, yknow yknow? So he goes along with the plan and he captures her. He expects her to fight back but she doesn’t. In fact, she’s quite happy to give up her heart for him if it meant that she wasn’t useless. (She had no family other than her sister, who had recently died. She’s lived her whole life feeling unvaluable). Over the past few days, they get to know each other, and he starts to feel bad that he was her soulmate. Like, why does such a sweet girl have to be his??? How could she just be fine with giving up her heart, HOW COULD SHE BE FINE WITH HIM NOT LOVING HER WHEN SHE CLEARLY DESERVES ALL THE LOVE HE COULD GIVE HER?!?!
She just tells him that a soulmates job is to make their lover happy, and if this made him happy then she would gladly give him her heart. It’s not like he’s doing it just for himself anyway, he is doing it for all the lost children in the world.
After he finishes the setup necessary for the ritual, he takes his soulmate to Skull rock. By the point, Peter isn’t even sure if he wants to steal her heart anymore. Could he have fallen in love this quickly???
But she encourages him to do it, despite being frightened of it herself. Before he takes her heart, Peter asks her if she had any last words. She quietly mumbles that she loves him more to an anything. She then asks him if it will hurt, to which he responds by saying that he’ll numb the pain as much as possible.
Going against his better judgement, Peter kisses her softly as he takes her heart. She immediately passes out. Peter pan has big boy realization and can’t bring himself to kill her, so instead he puts her heart back in and kisses her in the hopes she will come back to him.
Insert fluffy ending here with more kisses!!
I am so so so sorry in advance if this is super specific or doesn’t make any sense. I’ve just had this idea stuck in my head for months and it won’t get out. Of course, you can add or change the idea to make it simpler for you to write!! Take as much time as you need and have an amazing day!!!
Tumblr media
oh this idea >>

Tumblr media
Peter Pan is really out of luck. No, really. He says this about once a decade, when his latest plan for glory goes a little topsy turvy, but it’s real this time. Peter has finally caught his last break, found himself in a trap that he just can’t slip. Peter can name a fair number of people who’d be just delighted to hear that the King of Neverland has finally lost his way, but Peter himself isn’t one of them.
That probably has to do with a little something about how he’s going to die. Peter always knew his life came with strings attached, namely the giant hourglass ticking down his last hours until he finally croaked, but for some reason he always thought that he’d be able to find his way out of it. Peter is a mastermind at exploiting loopholes, but despite all of his centuries of figuring things out in the nick of time, he may have just now met his match.
Peter thought he had it settled when it came to the heart of the truest believer. Kidnap a kid and carve out his vital organ, that’s all it took. It should have been an easy task, too, certainly within Peter’s grasp. It’s a shame the truest believer also came with a team of die-hard do-gooders ready to tear the world apart to save their son, but who could predict something like that?
Henry Mills was Peter’s last chance, though. Or, to be specific, the last chance that Peter even remotely wanted to consider. He has explored all other opportunities, never given up hope on finding another way, but at last, he’s going to have to admit it. Peter is going to have to do the one thing he swore to always avoid.
Peter can feel the eyes of the other Lost Boys on him now, silently waiting for him to make the inevitable call. They’ll support him in whatever choice he makes to save himself, of course; Neverland disappears when Peter dies. He’s sworn that he’ll ship them all off to safer shores should that day arrive, but no one wants that, either. The Lost Boys have always had a chance to leave, they just never took it because this life on Neverland was always preferable to anything else.
He knows what he has to say, though. Peter has known it for a while. The one last gamble he could possibly deal, the last chance he will ever have to not die before a month is out—
His soulmate.
This is the one option Peter was really hoping to avoid. Something about the whole soulmate affair has really bugged him all this time. Forget the odds of ever finding your soulmate when he’s immortal living on an island where no one could track him down if they dared, Peter isn’t the type of person who makes sense in the whole soulmates agenda. Peter doesn’t like weaknesses, and having someone out there who’s supposed to mean the world to you, love above all else, makes his skin crawl.
Technically, he supposes his soulmate isn’t a weakness at a time like this. In fact, his soulmate is going to be the only thing capable of making Peter strong again. See, if he wants to go on living, he can sacrifice someone else’s heart to the magic of Neverland:  that of his soulmate.
Anyone else would call it cruel. Peter is not anyone else, which is why he’s considering this. To be honest, he really hadn’t wanted to go anywhere near his soulmate, but he’s not so averse to the whole concept that he’d go into a grave rather than risk it. Peter clings to life like no one you’ve ever seen before, and he’s going to keep on doing it, soulmates be damned.
Peter can’t quite put a finger on why he has such a strong dislike of the soulmates thing. Maybe it’s because understanding the soulmate predicament would make him open to such weaknesses as love brings. Love is for fools who have nothing else to give, kids and blind men who would plunge a knife into their own chests if it meant meeting somebody who was supposedly meant for them. The only thing that Peter has ever needed in this world is his immortal youth, and if a soulmate were ever to get in the way of that, he’d take them out himself.
That’s the plan, at last. Peter doesn’t have to worry about the time it could take to track down his soulmate. He’s had his shadow keep vague tabs on them for no particular reason. He’ll tell himself it’s so he can head the other way if they ever draw near, but it’s not like that’s actually a good excuse. No one comes near Neverland unless they can avoid it or they’re one of his kind. Clearly, Peter’s soulmate would never be the type to fit in here, because soulmates are a sham. Peter refuses to believe anything else.
Still, he has to meet them, has to look them in the eyes as he carves the heart from their chest. It’ll be quick and clean, that’s all Peter needs. After that, he can live forever with another weight lifted from his shoulders. Two weaknesses removed from Peter’s world:  death and love. What more could he possibly want?
Peter actually goes to the trouble of locating his soulmate himself. This job needs to be clean, he can’t afford to have any more storybook heroes on his tail. Look how well that turned out with Henry. This is Peter’s last shot, after all; it happens without error or it doesn’t happen at all.
To his surprise, it’s relatively easy to find his soulmate. She’s walking alone at night when he finally comes to her world, trading a dimly lit house for a chilly twilight. The walls are silent, still as a grave, and the girl doesn’t look back once as she leaves. Strange.
Peter waits until she’s out of the line of sight of the house just in case, then starts following her. Once they’ve turned off of the street, Peter quickly closes the distance between them. The girl turns to stare at him, and her eyes widen. She must be feeling it too, then, the rushing feeling in her chest. Peter’s hit by it now too. He didn’t ever wonder what it would be like to meet one’s soulmate, so the reaction of being in such close quarters to the one person designed for him takes him by surprise.
Peter bites back an unwelcome smile and a rush of butterflies to his stomach. “I’m going to need you to come with me,” he says. He’s got a knife in his hand just so she gets the point. Like he said, no slip ups. Not this time.
He’s expecting a fight. That’s how Peter would react if someone approached him at night with a weapon, after all, yet for some reason his soulmate just nods. “Alright,” she replies.
Peter blinks in surprise. “Alright? I’m kidnapping you.”
“Alright,” she repeats, this time with a soft smile, “are you, though? You look really confused about it.”
“Yeah,” Peter says without thinking, “you seem like you’re not taking this seriously. Aren’t you going to try to run or something?”
The girl lifts a shoulder. “Where would I go? Besides,” she adds with a small laugh, “you’re my soulmate. That seems like a fascinating kidnapping to me.”
Peter thinks he’s gone out of his mind. “I’m going to kill you. This is not fascinating. I need your heart so I can live forever.”
His soulmate tilts her head to the side as if considering something, and then nods. “Okay.”
He must be crazy. “Why is that okay?”
The girl spreads her hands. “I have nothing. Nobody left, no family. It would be something to let someone live forever, wouldn’t it? Once you see enough death, you start to wish somebody could do it. If all it took was my heart, I think that’s a fair price. Where are we going, soulmate?”
Peter almost opens his mouth to stop her before he remembers that this is what he wants, someone willing to give up their heart so that he could live. This is actually the best possible scenario, but then why does his chest twinge with something almost like guilt when he nods and gestures towards the sky? And, upon seeing his soulmate’s face light up as she realizes that they’re to fly to Neverland, why does Peter feel like a monster for giving this girl a snapshot of all that she could have had if he hadn’t been afraid of her and taken her to his island for any reason other than sacrificing her heart?
It doesn’t matter what this girl thinks. What matters is Peter staying alive. He can focus on that, not the way the eyes of his soulmate shine with all the stars as they fly through the night air, how Peter feels more powerful than he’s ever felt before because they’re so close to each other. Y/N— he doesn’t remember asking her name, but he must have at some point because it’s now folded carefully within the depths of his memory— makes him feel strange. Better. More alive.
It’s distracting, and Peter can’t take another distraction right now. He all but abandons her to the wilderness of the island when they touch down on Neverland, muttering something about needing to get something before disappearing again.
To her credit, Y/N seems surprisingly good at navigating this strange new world. She finds her way to the Lost Boys’ camp within a few minutes, and by the time Peter plucks up the courage to head there as well, she’s already locked in conversation with a few of the boys. Even Felix is nodding along. Some unwelcome voice in the back of Peter’s head tells him that she fits into Neverland so well for a reason, but he refuses to listen.
After all, Y/N is only here temporarily. She knows it, too, which just makes Peter’s unsettled surprise grow more intense. She doesn’t try to run or flee her fate in any way. Instead, she asks Peter questions about the magic of Neverland, what it would be like when her heart has been traded in and everything is as it should be. After some initial hesitation, Peter talks. He talks more than he thinks he has to anyone else, and comes away from every conversation feeling a surprising lightness in his chest.
A couple of days pass after his soulmate arrives on Neverland, and Peter begins to realize that if he wants to get through this at all, he’s going to have to plan the ritual sooner rather than later. Already, something almost like guilt is pricking at the edges of his consciousness, making Peter wonder if this is really something he could do. To tear the still-beating heart out of Y/N’s chest, even with her explicit permission, seems somehow so wrong that even Peter with all his centuries of depravity feels like he’s missing something.
It will come, though. This will pass. Peter has the Lost Boys depending on him. Peter himself knows nothing about death, that grand adventure that he has yet to experience, and he plans on keeping his demise to the distant future, if it ever does happen at all. He has to kill Y/N, even if it feels like he’s killing himself in turn.
The hour arrives at last, Peter makes sure of it. He takes Y/N’s hand and they fly to Skull Rock, out of the judging eyes of the other Lost Boys. Those that were so keen on him finding any way to live now seem less sure of Peter Pan’s divine right to never fail. Peter isn’t sure of it either.
The only one who’s sure of anything is Y/N. She watches him with those same bright eyes as Peter reminds himself of words to spells. He had wondered if her quiet strength would desert her when the moment of her actual death arrived, but she remains just as brave as ever. That marks her as better than Peter, he supposes.
At last, when he can push it off no longer, Peter turns to her again.
“It’s time,” he murmurs.
Y/N nods once. “It’s okay.”
How like her, to absolve him of this last guilt. He doesn’t deserve this. Maybe this is why Peter has avoided the topic of soulmates all this time— he wasn’t afraid of a weakness but the knowledge that he would never be good enough for anyone. Especially not a soulmate like Y/N.
Peter squares his shoulders, reaches for her. “Is there anything you want to say? You know, before–”
He stops himself before the treacherous words come out. Before he kills her. Before he rips her heart out of her chest, ending the life of the one good person in his life, the one person he had been sent to love and instead ended up murdering just so he could have more years of empty life.
Y/N flinches slightly, and Peter realizes that she actually is terrified despite her calm front. “I don’t know,” she whispers, “Maybe that I love you. More than anything. If this is what it’s like to have a soulmate, to feel like this, I’m glad I got it.”
Peter must have reacted strongly, because she holds up a hand to stop Peter’s response. “I know it’s bad timing, but I wanted to say it once. You have to do this, Peter. Not just for you but all of the Lost Boys, everyone you haven’t saved yet. Promise me, won’t you? Promise me you’ll find all the kids who need you. You’ll have all the time in the world to do it. Bring them home.”
“I promise,” Peter says hollowly.
Y/N jerks her head up and down, a trembling acceptance. “Alright, then.” She eyes him cautiously. “Do you think it’ll hurt?”
Yes, he wants to say. “I’ll try to make any pain as little as possible.” He owes her that much.
Y/N flashes him a quick smile that neither of them believe. “Do it.”
Peter stares at her, and before he can stop himself, he leans forward slightly and kisses her. It is a mistake in anyone’s book, but Peter can’t help it. It goes against his better judgment, his limited common sense, but it also gives him a rush from head to toe that he could not explain if he tried.
Y/N’s eyes are shut, which makes it easier. Peter plucks her heart from her chest as easily as if it were a single emerald leaf from a tree. Instantly, Y/N crumples to the ground. Peter looks at her body in a tangle of limbs on the floor of the cave, and he knows. He can’t do this. It is the only thing that will save his life, and it is too great a price to pay.
Within a second, Peter puts Y/N’s heart back in her chest. She still doesn’t stir, and Peter finds himself swept away on a tide of fear, utterly wracked with the horror that maybe he was too late, that his realization took just too long to come about. He kisses her again in the hopes that it might do something, anything. He’s heard that soulmates are supposed to have a special kind of magic in them; if the stories were true, if there is anything left to Y/N and Peter, let it go all to her. Let her wake up. Please.
Y/N lets out a shuddering gasp and sits up. Peter’s breath leaves him in a rush and he clutches her to him, his arm wrapped around her shoulders as if she’s giving him strength instead of the other way around.
“You’re alright,” he says weakly. It’s as much to reassure him as her.
Y/N shakes her head against his chest. “Didn’t it work? It should have worked, Peter.”
Peter pulls away briefly, unwillingly, so he can look at her again. He doesn’t know how much time he has left now, but he’d gladly spend the rest of them just watching the sun set in her eyes. “I couldn’t do it. I can’t kill you, Y/N.”
Y/N’s eyes widen. “No. No, you had to do this. You’re going to die.”
He lifts a shoulder. “I’ve lived a long time. You deserve your shot at life, just like me.”
Y/N opens her mouth to argue against this, and then she falls silent. Peter furrows his brow, confused at her sudden hesitation, and then he realizes that the entire room seems to be glowing. He turns around to see what Y/N’s looking at, and then he sees it and loses the ability to function.
The hourglass is glowing. As Peter watches, all of the grains that had been steadily collecting at the bottom fly up to the top, and this time, they stay there. Even after Peter waits, they refuse to fall. For some reason, he is no longer capable of dying, at least not through the steady progress of time that had once marked his centuries.
It must be the soulmate thing. It’s the only thing Peter can think of, that something must have come of the bond between him and Y/N. It’s funny, isn’t it, that Peter has spent all of this time running from the mere mention of a soulmate and now she’s the one to save his life?
He faces her once more, and this time, he lets himself smile back at her. “I think we’re alright.”
She laughs. Peter thinks he could listen to the sound on repeat for days at a time. “I think we’re more than alright, actually.”
For once, Peter does not have any cause to fear. He has his life, but more than that, he has his love. Love is not something to shun or hide, it makes him strong. He holds out a hand for Y/N and helps her up. They have a new life to lead, hundreds of thousands of lifetimes until time itself ceases to function. Peter thinks it’s just about enough time to get started.

RWRB Movie Analysis + Feelings: The King, and Parental Love
Okay heads up, this is gonna be an amalgam of a meta/analysis, and my own feelings and experience/me venting, because I’m going through some things right now in my life and this is how I cope.
So in the book, the “final boss” on Alex's side is Richards. In the movie, I would say it’s more the action of being outed than Miguel himself, but yeah. The former is politically driven to screw things up while the latter is career-driven. To understand this change please read this essay.
Henry’s “final boss” is his Grandmother Queen Mary in the book, and his Grandfather King James in the movie. These two are in a similar position: the head of the monarchy and of the family, both trying to make Henry hide the truth. On first glance it might feel like they simply gender-bent the Queen for the movie for the sake of distancing the movie from the actual royal family, which, fair.
(Tangent: Also the fact that Stephen Fry is not only a gay icon in the UK but also a good friend of King Charles, yet he took this role without hesitation, I applaud you Sir)
But as I watched the Buckingham confrontation more, I noticed something.
And I noticed this because I’m familiar with it, in fact I’m living with it.
Either way, both the Queen and the King wanted Henry to hide his sexuality. That is forcing him into the closet, especially the way the Queen still brings up finding a wife in the book and Alex is right there, it’s forcing him into the closet for his entire life. That, is awful.
But there’s a difference.
In the book, Queen Mary doesn’t care about Henry. She berates Henry for damaging the crown’s image. She only mentions things from his perspective and says she’s only “protecting” him when she’s trying to convince Henry once she realizes that he’s not going to budge. She barely acknowledges Alex. Even till the end, she never really gave in: Princess Catherine gave her an ultimatum, and because she still wants to be in power, she extremely begrudgingly, agreed to Catherine’s terms. Not Henry, Catherine’s. It just so happens that Catherine’s terms are supporting Henry. On top of that, Catherine mentions feeling awful because of Mary (Quote: “And I swear on my life, and Arthur’s. I will take you off the throne before I will let them feel the things you made me feel”), so it’s clear that this is generational. Queen Mary is arrogant, power-hungry, and uncaring for her children and grandchildren. All she sees is the crown. She does not love Henry.
Okay, now look at the movie.
In the movie, King James says he’s protecting Henry at the start of the conversation. He admits that Alex and Henry’s love is genuine. He says the nation will not accept a prince who is homosexual. Which is still bullshit, but look at it. He’s speaking about Henry. This is about Henry. This isn’t about the crown as a whole, this is about Henry being shunned. About Henry facing scrutiny. He even says no one is saying Henry doesn’t deserve to be happy, and the implication there is that he thinks Henry will be unhappy if he comes out. In the end, he didn’t stop Henry from going onto the balcony when, as terrible as it would be, he could have. He just asked if Henry was sure because there is no turning back. He stepped back from the situation, and with a warning, let Henry decide for himself.
So here’s the thing.
There’s a type of parents, that truly do love their child and want them to be happy. But it comes out wrong and hurtful, because they want what they think is the best for their kid, without considering what their kid actually wants. They stick with the world and mindset they grew up with, and enforce that on their child, without acknowledging that after decades, the world the child lives in, and the world they lived in at that age, are extremely different. They want their kids to get the things that make the parents happy, but they don’t realize that the same thing might not make the child happy, maybe even make the kid feel worse. This is a different type of pain than straight-up abuse and neglect. (Please note that I am absolutely not saying that this type of pain is more than abuse/neglect. Abuse/neglect is still extremely fucking awful. But pain isn’t something that should be compared.)
And I say this, because my parents belong to this category. And it took me 18 years to realize that they can truly love me, and hurt me at the same time, and it’s not actually my fault that I feel bad about myself, it’s theirs.
Here’s the personal part. Please bear with me. (If you’re not interested, or find family issues or devaluing of mental health issues potentially triggering, please skip to *****)
My parents are older for my cohort, come from an extremely traditional and conservative society, and immigrated to my city during the 90s. I’m Gen Z. So our generation gap and cultural gap ended up being pretty fucking wide. I’m a very emotional, artsy person while my parents are pragmatic and hold traditional ideas very strictly. So what happens is that they don’t value the things I want to and like to do, because it doesn’t fit the perspective they grew up with and ended up being stuck with. I’ll state two examples from the clusterfuck that is my life.
Last night when I tried to subtly explain my recent struggles to my mom, she straight up said emotional people are egotistical and tend to end up mentally ill by their own doing. I excused myself and locked myself in my room to sob for ten minutes because whether or not she realised it, she was also talking about me, and holy fuck it hurt. What she said is fucked up, but the problem is I know why she thinks this way: a combination of her personality, personal experience, society and environment resulted in this perception being the only way she has ever viewed emotional people, and she just… never changed. Maybe if she heard more narratives or stories about “emotional people” she might change her mind, but right now the only exception is her daughter, who she can easily pass off as “not trying hard enough”.
My personal choices for university were between psychology, science & arts, and sociology, but on the day of finalizing my university choices, my parents spent hours telling me, in both shouting matches, and gently convincing in the same tone the king tries to persuade Henry with, about how those degrees aren’t useful, and I won’t get a job, and they need me to support myself by 25. Under pressure, borderline hysteria and non-stop crying from said pressure, and the knowledge that 1, I can’t convince them at this stage 2, I’m running out of time 3, they’re paying for my tuition, I caved in. I am now stuck with a degree I hate and feel like I have no motivation to live every fucking day. I meant it when I said RWRB is like, my only light in life right now. I’m literally writing this to avoid schoolwork. I’m also not saying my parents’ concerns aren’t valid, they are, that being said it took me so long to realize that it is not normal for me to feel so shit about myself and my life every fucking day, and that we didn’t even come to a compromise, because based on what their society taught them, they think they’re in the absolute right, and I’m being naïve, and they ended up forcing me into this. I refuse to say this was my choice. It wasn’t. It’s theirs.
*****
Movies, books and shows are my escapism. I find comfort in stories, and even more so when I see characters who I can relate to, who are in same way, starting at a point where I am.
When I read the book, I fell in love with both of the boys. But between them, I related more to Henry: a family who doesn’t understand us, with the sole exception being our sister, having out-dated traditional ideas enforced on us, and having parts of us being invalidated. Granted Henry’s core issue being his sexuality and my core issue being my personality and interest makes the whole issue still different, but there are bits and pieces that are similar, and I find comfort in that.
But then I watched the movie, and for some reason it hit harder. I found myself relating more to Movie Henry than Book Henry (again, I love them both, one’s not better than the other, they are different, and both precious). And I ended up clocking it on the King.
The king didn’t come across to me as cold and uncaring the way the Queen in the book did. He came across to me as someone who genuinely loves Henry, but failed to understand how Henry wanted and needed to be loved, and failed to see how the perception and opinions of the younger generation have changed. Let’s be honest, having a heterosexual prince isn’t a requirement the way the King and subsequently Henry viewed it, it’s just an expectation because that’s how the royal family’s image in the past was: either you’re straight, or you’re queer and hidden. The King was stuck with that expectation while ignoring the growing acceptance of the LGBT+ community among the people, even for prominent figures, because that wasn’t the society that he was raised in, and therefore stuck with. The king meant it when he said he wanted to protect Henry, and he didn’t support Henry because he believed that Henry was naïve or not looking at the bigger picture when he wanted to come clean about his relationship and that doing so would be Henry’s detriment. I have heard that used on me too many times.
The king loves Henry the way my parents love me: genuine, but ultimately hurtful.
And in all honesty, I think that might be a more relatable/humanizing characterization for this type of family member.
With this in mind, I do believe that perhaps when Henry was younger, when he was a boy, he had good memories with his grandfather the way I still do make good memories with my family despite all the conflict, that once upon a time the King wasn’t the king to Henry, but just Grandpa who would let him sit on his lap and read stories to him. I can’t see the Queen from the book doing that at all.
(There’s also this incredible fic imagining King James “protecting” Henry because he too is gay, but lost his love during a far more unforgiving and cruel period of time, thus fearing for Henry, It’s absolutely magnificent, please go check it out: AO3 link)
I know I said I’m on the fence about getting a sequel (although if we do get one of course I’m watching it regardless), but this feels like something, granted unique to the movie, that would be interesting to explore. Somewhat like the conclusion of Disney’s Encanto, where the older generation needs to realize that their way of thinking is outdated and hurtful and that they need to listen to what the younger ones have to say. (the younger ones aren’t always right, but they need to at the very least, be heard and respected)
The King in the movie does truly love Henry, and that, allows space for forgiveness and reconciliation, and a chance for him to learn to love his grandson in the right way. It would be nice to see that.

You know, one thing that really bothers me about how people view Bunny and the whole point of The Secret History is that they seem to think that because Richard is an unreliable narrator, that makes him a complete liar and everything that he says happened to and with Bunny was completely twisted into portraying him as bad as Richard can to justify Bunny's murder.
Although that's truth to some extent, I refuse to believe everything about their interactions is a lie, because that would be just lazy writing to justify things you don't want to think about very hard instead of really putting an effort into explaining the open ends to your reader. And I don't believe Donna Tartt is this kind of writer.
Anyway, I saw a post here on tumblr where op says that Bunny is the person that connected the rest of the group to ground reality and that's why his death is so tragic. Even agreeing with this person, I have some thoughts I still want to vent to you guys.
The point of TSH is that knowledge just for aesthetics is dangerous, but that's the thing: our characters have so much knowledge and they are still absolute idiots because they don't see their knowledge through the lens of reality. Their knowledge has no material grounds and therefore, it doesn't even occur to them to be aware of the things they are ignorant about because our minds have trouble understanding how much we don't understand.
(Which is ironic, considering Ancient Greece were the very first Occidental civilization to bring the notion of ignorance to the conversation, but anyways...)
But my point is, as much as Bunny is their link to their humanity, it's not like the humanity Bunny shows is anywhere near the kind of humanity they should be craving, sorry not sorry. From their very first interaction, I hated Bunny because although he's human in his rawest form, he's also just as ignorant as the rest of the group, just in a different way. My problem with Bunny as he's portrayed even early on is that he prides himself on his own ignorance and that, in my personal values, is way more worrisome then not understand how much you don't know.
Because the second case still has space to grow, to learn — albeit with mighty hardship, as exemplified by the very story — and the first one (Bunny's ignorance) is just stasis. And humans don't thrive through inaction, it's just not how we're wired. We are our best version when we're acting to be better — you can perceive this in Bell Hook's All About Love (Chapter 4), in psychology (my therapist has almost emphasize the need to act on my emotions instead of just feeling it and be locked up on them), Theodore Roosevelt has a speech about it too (the man in the arena).
So when I look at Bunny's character through the critical thinking of Richard being an unreliable narrator, it's still inconceivable to me to see him as some people do and be sad about his murder like he didn't deserve to die. Now let's be clear: he didn't deserve to die but it's not like the world is a worst place because of his death. Bunny is insufferable, entitled (although not because of the reasons Henry and the other point out later in the story to justify his murder), bigoted and overall just the epitome of a middle-class American white man (which to me is his worst characteristic), and his death is not that tragic in the overall sense.
His death is tragic because it brings the rest of the group back to reality, where what they do has weight and consequences. And don't even get me started on Julian and how much I hate his ass because it was his responsibility to provide these young adults with an education that was at the very least, grounded in reality. And let me be clear, when I say "grounded in reality" I don't mean common sense. He could still reflect upon Beauty and Terror and all of the stuff he wanted. The problem is that there's a why. We don't study things (specially not philosophy) in a vacuum, the things we do study are real, palpable, material. It has grounds in reality because science, Social Science in special, is about the truth of reality and how it's viewer and how it shapes our very foundations as individuals and as society.
But I digress, I'll do a commentary on Julian and his teaching methods later on.
So in a sense, Bunny's death was tragic because he was the anchor, even in death, of a reality none of the characters wanted to face. A reality that isn't pretty, nor it is good. So Bunny is not good, he was never good. He was just real. He was a real human being and he lived in the world the rest of the group avoided in a mistaken sense of arrogance, of being above "all that". And that's charming, but it doesn't mean Bunny represent anything near the kind of reality we should aim to live in.
Bunny, just like the others, was ignorant and arrogant about it. But as I said, he prided himself on his ignorance. He studied because he was killing time until he was ready to do something else, something he thought was the "real" thing. And that's just as dangerous, or even more so in a collective sense, than not being aware of our own ignorance.
To deny knowledge and the importance of it, to deny all there is behind the aesthetic, not because you don't see it but because you don't want to see it, is just as dumb as just seeing the looks and thinking there's nothing more to it. And in a collective sense, it's just as harmful. The reality he represents is a reality without knowledge, it's studying and not absorbing anything, not even the aesthetic. The one thing that makes me hate the rest of the group a bit less than I hate Bunny is that they at the very least allow themselves to be influenced by knowledge, although in a idiotic way. And that's not even completely their fault.
Bunny, on the other hand, is just, stasis. He's the same person throughout it all, and based on his family and his general behaviour? He could've been an okay person (the kind you tolerate in family dinners because it's not worth the drama), but he was very far from being a good person because to be a good person requires action, it requires the very knowledge he despises — because if you act without knowledge, you're just as blind as any ignorant (that's why we study).
So I don't get why people get so invested in defending Bunny because his death was just as meaningless as his life would've been. And I get that that sounds mean, but it's true exactly because Bunny's whole thing is his own brand of ignorance is inaction and no one changes doing nothing.

All I have is a door in front of me front center for me to see and dead on arrival for the truly most spookiest event ever if you will ever get to see.

How they view you
Tumblr media
Eddie: Sees you as the light in his life. You are the person who makes him smile and gives him the strength to face his day when he's down. His partner is his best friend, and you are the most precious thing in his life. You are each other's rocks, and he doesn't know what he would do without you.
Gareth: You are like his angel. You have his back, support everything he does, doesn't judge him, and he doesn't judge you. He does everything in his power to make your life good. He doesn't deserve you. He thinks you probably deserve someone way better than him. But maybe that's just it. Maybe he don't deserve you, but he'll do everything in his power to be the man you think he is.
Steve: as the most amazing person in the whole world. He has loved and will continue to love you forever. He loves every single thing about you and will continue to love you for eternity. You're his best friend, his home, his everything.
Robin: You are her everything. You are her best friend. You are who she wants to spend the rest of her life with. If she had to describe your relationship in one word, it would be healing. You have made her feel more valued in just a few months than she has felt in a long time. You are her everything, the light of my life, my best friend.
Nancy: Views her significant other as like her other half and someone who keeps her highly motivated. You are like always there, and you make her want to get out of bed in the morning. She feels as though everyone needs someone like that in their life. Especially because they will always be there when you are at your lowest. They should always be there for you.
Jonathan: His whole world. He feels as if the world has taken its sweet time to get to you, and you are his reward for patience. He thinks you're kind and gentle, strong and brave, clever and honorable, compassionate and generous, but oh, also has a bit of a mischief to you, which he finds very endearing.
Argyle: Views you as the most important thing in this world. He can’t imagine his life without you, and you're the first person he wants to tell anything to.
Billy: In a way, he sees his significant other as an object, something to possess. That's because he's never been loved by a human being, and he's afraid that if he doesn't possess you, you'll just leave him like everyone else. He views you as an extension of himself, and you're the only source of true happiness he ever gets in this cold world. He loves you he just sometimes have a funny way of showing it.
001: Henry's view on his lover. It's a pure bond that cannot be broken. Their love is what allowed him to become Vecna in the first place. Without you, he would not be where he is today.

Tumblr media
“you want this one?” you asked, looking at henry as he inspected the yellow lemon. he nodded, “okay, give me your hand,” you grabbed his little hand, wrapping it around the fruit, you helped him tug until it separated from the branch. he squealed in surprise, and you laughed, kissing his temple. “great job, henry! can you help me put it in the basket?” you pointed at it, and your little boy tossed it in. “good boy, my love. now let’s get three more.” you instructed, even though you knew he couldn’t comprehend what you were saying, he was only one year old.
now that you finally had some free time, you traveled to the other side of the world, to the farm you’d been working on for years to build and grow. daniel loved america, and he loved spending his time off there, to disconnect from everything and bask in the silence, it was only natural that you decided to buy some land there and build the perfect getaway. the texas heat was unforgiving, but that day was one of the good ones, it was sunny and hot, but not too much.
as usual, henry was sporting a bucket hat. his collection started growing since his first -and only- visit to the f1 paddock, the other drivers, -the younger ones, specially- started gifting henry little hats from their own merch collections. that day’s hat was flower themed.
after picking up the lemons you moved on to the apple tree. it had huge roots and large branches, the leaves gave the spot the perfect amount of shade, which made it the perfect place to sit down and just enjoy the day.
“i think these might be too tall for us, mister,” you said as you stared at the three, holding henry’s hand as he took a few steps around you. since he started walking about two months ago you had to have your eyes on him at all times, “what do you say we go find daddy?” as he heard that last word he looked up at you, making you laugh, “you like that idea?” you asked, turning around so you could walk back to the house. you looked down at henry, watching his little chubby legs on the green grass. he didn’t have shoes on, because he loved feeling the different textures as he walked, his favorite was the wooden floors of the house there in the farm. “babe?” you called as you entered, placing the basket by the door. “call for daddy,” you told henry.
“da!” henry repeated. you let go of his hand, letting him walk wherever he wanted to as you followed him. “da, da,” he kept talking. since the first time he said it, it became his favorite word.
“i hear my mini man,” you turned to the side, watching daniel walking down the stairs that led to the second floor. he walked to you, wrapping an arm around your waist as you leaned into his side. it took henry one second to waddle to you, raising his arms, wanting to be picked up. you started leaning down when dan stopped you, “careful, i’ve got him,” he grabbed henry in his arms, kissing his cheek.
“i’m okay, you know? i’m pregnant, not sick or something,” you said, running your fingers through henry’s hair,
“still, you already do so much for us, you deserve a break.”
“i don’t need a break, i need your help getting apples from the tree, don’t we, henry?” you said, grabbing dan’s hand and leading him outside, grabbing the basket on your way out.
once you got back to the tree, henry started extending his arms, ready to pick the apples he wanted. you sat against the trunk of the tree, watching them toss the fruit into the basket.
“i didn’t mean to upset you,” daniel said, sitting in front of you, as henry played with the fruits he’d collected.
“you didn’t. i know you’re looking out for me, but you’re worse than you were when i was pregnant with henry,” you raised an eyebrow, a soft smile on your face. “i am still me, i can pick up my child if he needs me,” you said, and watched him open his mouth to speak, “she’s perfectly fine, she’s safe, i can still bend down, tie my shoes, play with henry. i’m six months pregnant, not eight and a half.”
“i just… i want you, all of you to be okay.”
“i know, and i love that you worry and care so much about us, but it’s all gonna be okay. we’ll be alright.” you leaned forward, lifting a hand to his cheek and pressing a quick kiss to his lips.
“i’m sorry,” he started, but you shook your head.
“no need. how about… you make it up to me by playing with your son, who’s missed you so much all week,” you grabbed henry by his middle and placed him in daniel’s arms, “while i go and was this up, make some lemonade, and cut these apples up,” it wasn’t much of a question, seeing as you stood up with the basket in your arms and started walking away as they got up.
through the kitchen window, you spotted them. daniel passed a plastic ball to henry, who tried to kick it, but lost his balance and fell on his bum. you paused cutting the apples, watching as henry started crying, but daniel helped him up, hugged him, and they started playing with the ball again. soon enough their loud chuckles invaded the whole farm.
-
after playing the entire afternoon, the three of you sat against the big apple tree. the shade was just perfect there, and the wind had started picking up. henry was currently holding your phone, too close to his face, daniel’s parents on the other side of the screen as they talked to their grandson. you laughed as dan took your phone from henry, moving it away from his face so he could see them, and so they could see something other than henry’s nose.
“somebody needs a diaper change,” dan said, noticing your baby boy’s focused face and his small frown.
“your turn, dad,” you said, he chuckled. after saying goodbye to his parents, your boys left you for a few minutes, coming back with two glasses of lemonade, and a sippy cup for henry.
“for you, my lady,” dan said, handing you one cup.
“thank you, love,” you smiled. you took a sip, and a few seconds later felt something weird in your belly. “looks like someone likes lemonade,” you placed a hand on your stomach, rubbing it, “come on, girl,” you whispered, wanting to feel her little kicks again.
“she’s kicking?” daniel asked, his eyes bright. you nodded, grabbing his hand and placing it where you felt her movements. “drink some more,” he suggested. after taking another sip you felt it again. “she’s got some powerful legs,” he laughed, you nodded. “come here, henry, feel this,” your baby boy stared at your hands, of course, he had no idea what was happening.
“look, henry, it’s your sister.” you said as daniel pressed henry’s hand on your belly. you drank some more lemonade, and henry looked at you both once his sister started moving. “say hi,”
“da,” henry said, making you laugh.
“say ‘hi, sis’,” daniel tried again.
“sis,” henry repeated. you gasped, since he started talking the only word he’d actually repeat was ‘da’. he’d make other noises, but when asked to talk, he’d just babble or say ‘da’.
“say that again,” you said, opening your camera app and starting recording. “say ‘hi sis’,”
“sis,” he said again, and this time you let out a loud squeal of joy.
“that was so good, henry!” daniel said, lifting him in his arms and kissing his cheek. “that’s your sister right there,” he said, placing henry’s hand back on your belly. “you two are gonna be the best of friends, i can already tell,” he continued speaking softly, you adjusted the camera to capture henry’s wide eyes as he felt his sister kicking, daniel’s bright smile, and the texas sunset of that august day.
“i must say i’m loving the attention,” you laughed, their hands on your belly felt warm, daniel was drawing invisible shapes as henry moved his hands wherever he felt the baby’s kicks.
“you deserve all of the attention, my love. your doing the most marvelous thing right now. i promise you, these next weeks we’re doing anything you want. whatever you feel like doing,”
“i just want to spend time with you. soon enough we won’t outnumber the kids in our house, i want to enjoy these weeks being just us three.”
-
the next morning, you woke up to an empty bed. neither dan nor henry were inside the house. you took a quick shower, figuring they must be outside, playing. once you changed into a large, flowy dress and skipped the shoes, you stepped outside. you walked to the area where you had all of the fruit trees and where the vegetables were growing, but they weren’t there, either. you grabbed your phone, calling daniel.
he didn’t pick up, didn’t need to, you heard the ringtone nearby. you walked that way, seeing them sitting a few meters away from the creek.
“good morning, you two,” you said as you walked to them, avoiding the muddy spots.
“da!” henry yelled as he saw you, you sat next to them, kissing henry’s cheek.
“what were you doing?” you asked, helping henry climb onto your lap.
“we picked up some peaches, came down here to wash them. he liked them,” dan smiled, you ran your hand through his hair, “we saved you some,” he pointed to the same basket you’d used yesterday, inside there sat some peaches and an apple.
“thank you,” you smiled, “this little miss and i are hungry, we skipped breakfast to come look for you boys,”
“aw, sweets,” daniel said, you shrugged. “henry and i were going to play tag for a bit, care to join us?” he asked, you shook your head.
“you boys go ahead, i’ll stay here a bit, yeah?” you passed henry to daniel, who leaned forward to kiss you. henry had enough of it, splitting the two of you apart, which made you laugh. “okay, mister. no need to be rude, you can go now.” you grabbed henry’s hand, and moved so he tapped daniel’s shoulder, “you’re it, dad. run, henry, go!” you cheered for your boy, who ran to the other side of the field, his bare feet guiding him away from his father, who chased after him.
you grabbed one of the peaches from the basket, taking a small bite. the baby liked it. you smiled as you grabbed your phone, taking a picture of the peach in your hand, and your belly.
you uploaded the picture to your instagram, which was filled with pictures of henry.
‘princess peach’ you captioned it.
the world knew you were pregnant, you’d been with daniel for the last race before break, in budapest, and you knew it was inevitable for pictures to come out. now they knew that you were having a baby girl coming in a few months.
-
after eating some of the fruit your had picked out for you, you lay down on the grass, looking up at the sky. it was so blue, and the clouds were so white, it was almost unreal.
“da, da,” you heard henry, you lifted your head, looking around for him.
“look what we found,” daniel said, helping you sit up. he handed something to henry, you extended your hand, and henry handed you a flower.
“oh, it’s so pretty! look, henry, it matches your shirt!” he was wearing a yellow button-up shirt, “here,” you placed the stem inside the little pocket, the petals sticking out. “you look so handsome, my darling boy.” you kissed his cheek, lying back down on the grass, placing henry next to you.
“what were you doing?” daniel asked as he imitated your position.
“finding shapes in the clouds,” you chuckled. “wanna play?” you asked, looking to your side, and noticed henry was falling asleep.
“the best one wins,”
“loser is on diaper duty for a week,” you grinned, raising your eyebrows.
“oh, it’s on. he ate so many peaches today, i do not want to clean that up,” you chuckled, and nodded. henry rolled to his side, and daniel placed him on top of him, moving so he was pressed up next to you. “that’s a dragon,” he pointed up to the sky, you nodded. looking around to look for another one.
“starting off strong, i like it. let’s see if you can keep it up,” you smirked, already spotting the perfect one. “that’s reptar.” you pointed to the dinosaur from one of your favorite childhood cartoons.
“holy shit,” dan said after a few seconds, spotting it. “it’s identical.”
“i know. can you beat that?”
you spent about fifteen minutes waiting for daniel to find something better than yours.
“have fun changing diapers, daddy. princess peach and i appreciate it,” you chuckled as you pecked his lips.

What's the garden au tell me about it I'm intrigued
@valkyrkinnie feel free to add onto this because I'm braindead atm
just pasting the entire document here to be real
Garden of Afton au or just, "the garden", is just an excuse for every diverging continuity we make up.
The reasoning behind every continuity is that Michael is in a time loop, beginning from the moment Ennard decides to leave its flesh suit and he wakes up on that warm sidewalk.
To get out of this time loop, he's got to fix all the mess his father made by destroying every animatronic related to the incident.
If he dies, he starts over, left with only an incredible sense of unease and deja vu if he goes towards the wrong path once again.
But no matter the continuity, there's always one thing that's always there; the garden.
Before everything, the Aftons had a prize winning garden that Mrs. Afton kept up with mostly.
It's also where she and Elizabeth are buried, with Ballora burying her own corpse and the latter by William.
The garden has always existed, and will always exist no matter its dilapidation.
Commonly, Ballora will be drawn to it and will realize her identity as the late Mrs. Afton.
This all acts as an alternative to Pizzeria Sim; it never happens.
Here's where we get nightmare gas leaky. The time loop? it's fabricated.
At the end of the final, completed loop, Michael wakes up from a medically induced coma he was placed under by Henry. By Michael destroying everyone in this hyperrealistic dream, he frees them from the real world also. They agreed that this would be the end of it.
All Michael remembers is the very last loop that in his mind lasted years, when in reality it lasted about 2 months. Needless to say, he regrets ever signing those papers.
However, there were some loops where Henry seriously considered killing Michael so that he never would've known that this was just a dream.
Loops where he was finally happy. where he brought them together and made them whole. Because at least then, the end goal was still achieved; they could never hurt anyone in the real world again.
And Michael himself would finally have peace.
Michael waking up can ALSO segway into him brutally attacking Henry for this sort of torturous 2 and a half month long nightmare, with Henry agreeing to put him back under for good and they both pass on.
Which THEN segways to Michael accidentally possessing Glamrock Freddy years later while he's in the parts and services protective dome. And Gregory is playing Simon Says on his FACE.
The universe hates Michael so he exists only as a foil to his father. To clean up his mess and ultimately live in his shadow.
So if Michael is here now after dying 6 years ago... so is he.
But Henry could've never even anticipated William returning in the form of Glitchtrap.
The whole time traveling part requires Henry to die here, because then his soul is freed to literally fuck around and find out. Retaining information he's gained from different timelines and continuities, bringing them to others, trying to find *some way* to patch things up. Something typically always goes wrong, yknow butterfly effect and chaos theory bullshit. But he can dream, at least.
It all boils down to "what if he could save them all?" He can't, and he realizes this. but DAMN he will try.
The first thing he does is stop Michael from ever signing those documents. He doesn't need him anymore. There's no point in putting Michael through all that torture again.
He doesn't DESERVE any of that.
Whatever time to quantum suicide to the gay reality.
-
My favorite is when Henry shows up to Fazbear's closing in 1993 to stop William from having a workplace accident (eviscerating himself inside Springbonnie).
William being completely shell shocked because HIS Henry completely denounced ever wanting to see his face again and here he is just, nonchalantly walking up to him. Takes a drag of a cigarette and goes "yeah don't do that".
1st - The actual fear gas experimenting time loop shit. The "canon" timeline.
2nd - Michael getting trapped in The Good Timeline after Henry kills him (Michael refurbishes all the animatronics of his family himself, runs fazbears, etc)
3rd - Henry dies and his soul is freed to fuck around and find out.
Hell, all of this is more just a prologue to everything considering I mostly fuck around with 3rd continuity Henry anyway.

Do you have some SwanQueen christmas time headcanons 🥰❄️🎄
hmm lemme think
i don’t think christmas means that much too either of them until after they get together—well, at least to emma. regina has a lot of happy memories with henry over the years during the holidays, but christmas just…means something a bit different once emma fully comes around (partly because it ends up being celebrated by the whole family, but we’ll focus on swan queen rn)
regina has a gift picked out for emma fairly quickly but it takes emma a bit more time. there’s something about giving regina a gift on their first christmas together that feels more important than any other gift she’s ever given. not because she needs to impress regina or anything, but because regina deserves the fucking world, obviously
their gifts to each other are usually pretty sentimental too. at least the big gifts. they get each other plenty of little things, but there’s always one they open thats meant to be super special
after henry goes to bed on christmas eve, the two of them stay up for awhile, finishing wrapping presents and drinking by the fire. this time is something they both look forward to immensely
regina also bakes like crazy around christmas, because she’s regina and cooking is her thing. emma likes to steal cookies. regina pretends she doesn’t notice, but she does
it’s really important to regina that she includes emma in all of the family traditions she and henry had created over the years. so on their first christmas together, she surprises emma with a stocking that has her name on it. and she buys emma christmas pjs, which is something she’s always done for henry
she gets ornaments with their whole family so that it’s not just her and henry up on the tree. she doesn’t tell emma about it though. emma just walks in while their decorating and tears up when she sees an ornament with a picture of the three of them

happy wednesday <3 here's more from the firstprince hallmark au.
Alex unlocks the door before slipping through it, closing it and then resting his forehead against the wood. He finds that the air hanging around the apartment is still cold, which only means there was no repairman available to fix it. Alex is thankful he owns so many hoodies. He kicks his shoes off at the door, placing them gently onto the rug so melting snow doesn’t get onto the floors before setting his stuff down on the counter in the kitchen and peeling off the winter layers.
Alex sees the glow of lamplight from the bedroom as he makes his way down the hallway and when he rounds the corner, he finds a sleeping Henry curled up in their bed. There's a book open and forgotten in front of him. This will always be a sight that Alex will never tire of.
The mattress dips as Alex sits down on the side and he gently threads his fingers through Henry's hair. Henry stirs for a moment before his eyes flutter open and his gaze falls onto Alex.
"Hi sweetheart," Alex says softly. "I'm sorry I'm late."
Henry yawns into his hand. "No need to apologise, love.” He stretches up and Alex meets him in the middle for a kiss. “I’m glad you’re safe. Are you hungry? The bakery sent me home with the leftover sandwiches from the day.”
“Starving.”
Once Alex has ate, his stomach grateful for something that isn’t a sugary baked good or coffee, he’s incredibly happy to get out of his work suit and back into a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie. He slips under the covers, taking place beside Henry who, once Alex is comfortably sat, tucks himself into Alex’s side, arm thrown over his stomach.
There’s a film playing on the television but Alex’s mind is only one thing: Henry’s fingers having slipped under his hoodie and are now running gently across his skin, grounding him and melting away every single worry from the day.
“Where’s your mind at, my love?” Henry asks, as if he knows Alex isn’t completely with him. Because, of course he knows. He’ll forever know Alex more than anyone else, sometimes more than Alex himself.
Alex decides to be honest. “Do you ever wonder what it would be like if our lives were different?”
Henry shifts so he’s sitting up against the pillows, his gaze on Alex. “What do you mean?”
Alex shrugs, staring down at the blanket, fumbling it between his fingers. “I just mean, if we could have everything we wanted. You know, a nicer apartment, you could have your bakery and I could be a lawyer. Do you ever think what it would be like?”
“Alex,” Henry says softly. “Where is this coming from?”
Alex opens his mouth, almost mentions what had happened on the train. But instead he says, “I was just thinking about things today is all. It just drives me insane that you don’t get to have your dream, that you have to work your ass off and it’s not in a place that you’re proud of. You deserve the whole world, Henry.”
Henry smiles and he forces Alex’s hands away from the blankets before taking them in his. “You’re my whole world, Alex.”
Alex laughs, tears bubbling up suddenly. “Shut up. You know what I mean.”
“I do,” Henry says, laughing too. “But, darling, what I mean is everything else can wait. It will come, for me and for you. You’ll see. It could be tomorrow or it could be years down the road, but it will happen.”
Alex smiles gently. “So, what you’re saying is you’d like it to come true tomorrow?”
Henry chuckles. “You’re a menace, Alex. It can happen in an hour from now for all I care, just as long as I have you by my side when it happens.”
As if to emphasis the point, Henry leans in, placing a kiss to Alex’s lips. Soft and like a promise. When they part, Alex touches his forehead to Henry’s. “I love you, please never forget that.”
Henry brushes his nose against Alex’s. “I love you always.”
“Always.” Alex whispers into the space between them and they seal that promise with a kiss too.
