was trying to get down ideas for how I think henry would've looked while performing pre-fredbear era and this is what came of it

When does Will's first springlocking occur? Is it at Fredbear's or are you changing the location? Who's around at the time and what's the reaction?

1979. 2 years after Fredbear's opened. Henry insisted to William that Springbonnie's locks were out of balance and needed to be recalibrated, but Will almost always refused to let Henry touch his suit, preferring to do maintenance himself.

This would prove to be a terrible decision. A few too many performances in a row and William's sweat caused the locks to finally snap... before a live audience and caught on VHS tape, all but one copy that would be destroyed due to the sheer shame.

Henry, in Fredbear, saw it coming a mile away, but still went along with William's plan. Hearing the fatal clicks ticking in his ear beside him, haphazardly shoving Springbonnie back into the curtains behind him.

Only in backstage did the blood bath truly come to light.

Just to say "I told you so." at his bedside in the hospital.

I headcanon that henry didn't wear glasses until halfway through college because he didn't realize that other people don't have to squint at everything to read.

uugghfhhnnnnn. college willry. henry more often than not crashes on the couch every night because he doesn't make it to bed. miraculously wakes up tucked in neatly with a blanket and several pillows. someone took his glasses off for him. cleaned them even.

sure is a mystery... couldn't be the one other person that lives with him, not at all.

something abt william being obsessed with henry and henry reciprocating it in full force through decades of trying to find a way to bring an end to it all. obsessed with picking his brain apart, finding he's far too deep in to get out; there's no going back.

where does he end and henry begin anymore?

im so tired right now none of this is gonna make sense but like. think about it. think about willry do it now. do you understand how difficult it had to have been to just stow away those feelings they had for each other just to keep up appearances, knowing that it would ruin their publicity. william being so madly in love with henry to the point of obsession and henry does reciprocate it, he knows that, but being unable to speak the truth. "i think im in love with you" as a one off murmur late at night, never repeating it verbally but so clearly showing it through acts of service, of dedication, of near worship.

and it drives william insane, being so close yet ever distant.

he knows what they have is like a soap bubble. it will burst and vanish the moment he tries to reach out and grasp it.

he can only hold his hand out, and wait for it to pass by in his wake.

After one particular, albeit... blackout drunk night in college, they have a silent understanding that there's something between them, but neither of them are going to openly admit that.

Henry, from a stranger's perspective, looked like a textbook hippie. The way he looked, the way he dressed, his... medicinal habits, but in stark opposition of it all, he was incredibly eloquent with his words. To make him stutter was an achievement all on its own.

And William could do this with hardly any effort.

While Henry had introduced Adelaide to William and they ended up eloping after college, both couldn't help but to remain close to him through the years, culminating in Henry becoming essentially a godparent to the Afton children.

Late nights at Fredbear's... getting a little too handsy in parts and service... only a few examples of William exacting his decades of yearning onto Henry.

"Do you ever think about... that one night in—"

"Of course I do." A hiccup of a laugh and a heave of Henry's shoulders. Shaking the thought away.
