“Holy—Archons!”

Anyone would be surprised if a body materialized from thin air right in front of you, lifeless like a doll. You stare at the body, thoughts racing as fast as your heartbeat, and all the while, the man with sun threads as hair lay eerily still on the ground, eyes fluttered shut.

The man is terrifyingly beautiful, like a fallen star. A limp and unmoving fallen star, that is. Your jaw extends to the ground, terrified and—mystified? Immediately, your instincts scream at you to perform emergency measures, but—

A pixie comes barreling in from somewhere, tears running down her cheeks as she zeroes in on the presumably dead body.

“Was he your friend?” you ask quietly, mourning on her behalf. Were they siblings? The way she’s slapping his face around seems so.

“He’s not dead!” the little pixie exclaims, sniffling and shaking the apparently not-dead body.

You stare at her, perplexed. “Then why are you crying?”

“Because Paimon had to go through that trial challenge alone!”

“The what?”

Paimon huffs, slamming her tiny fists on the man’s bare waist. It seems to not even have left a mark on his skin. “You wake him up. Paimon’s upset at him.”

It’s hard to say no when tears are rolling down her face. Obediently, you poke around the man’s shut eyes, and it snaps open.

You flinch back. He blinks blearily.

“Are you okay?” You study his face, looking for any signs of a newly born zombie, but his face looks flushed and as healthy as any living human being. His eyes are bright and gold as they stare back at you.

“I’m in heaven,” he says. “Celestia has done it. I’m seeing angels, and I’m in heaven.”

Angels? Celestia?

Paimon tackles his face, shaking his shoulders and crying. “You’re not dead, dummy! How dare you leave Paimon in Dragonspine! All alone, Aether!”

“Oh,” Aether says, sounding almost disappointed. “Then…?”

“You’re not dead,” you agree with Paimon, because evidence lies before you despite the initial fright. However, his comment about angels has you a little flustered. “Um, what happened?”

“Ah,” Aether laughs sheepishly, rubbing the nape of his neck. “I failed the trial, and it respawned me back here. Which is weird—I haven’t been in Bubu Pharmacy for ages!”

“I’m sorry?”

Aether jumps to his feet, startling you enough to fall on your ass. He grins down at you and offers a hand. “At least I got to meet you,” he says, pulling you up from the grass. You stumble from his strength; he catches you easily, and you bump against his chest. “Or—not meet you yet. What’s your name?”

You can’t believe the previously perished fallen star is now hitting on you. “I’m… Y/N.”

“Y/N,” he repeats, smiling broadly. “I’ll remember that.”

You hope that your face doesn’t betray the warmth you feel fluttering under your skin.

Aether sighs, casting a glance at the ground he was previously lying on. “Sorry you had to see that. That was probably very disturbing and decidedly not flattering for me.”

You can’t help but laugh. Aether beams. “Does that happen often?”

“When I get a little rusty, yeah.” He tilts his head, looking at you up and down, then around your surroundings. “Do you work here? I haven’t seen you around before.”

“Just recently.” You gesture vaguely to the side, feeling a little shy. “If you don’t see me hanging around, it’s probably because I’m always loitering the docks to watch out for exhausted tourists.”

Aether’s smile turns sly. “Nurse me back to health, would you?”

But then Paimon starts tugging on his ear and away from you, a relief for your racing heart. “Enough flirting! You can come back here after you unlock that precious chest!”

“Ow, ow, okay,” Aether laughs, hesitating, before letting you slip from his hold. He takes a few steps back, his smile as blinding as stars seconds away from exploding. “The docks, right? I’ll see you soon!”

By 'soon,' you hope he doesn't mean he'll attempt to die again immediately, but you figure you'll find out eventually. You glance around to see if anyone is watching, then decide to take a stroll around the docks for reasons no one should know.

It all happened too fast, much too fast for Joel to react properly.

His ears were ringing, his surroundings blurry as he fell to his knees and held your blood body in his arms. He held you tightly, manically inspecting you and applying pressure to your stomach while you groaned in pain.

“I know, I know,” he kept repeating, his own hands bloody and shaking by then.

“J-Joel—“

“I know, darlin’, I know, I got you—you’re gonna be fine. You’re gonna be just fine, I promise.”

You couldn’t get much words out; the pain was white hot in your body, weakening you with each passing moment. The way Joel was clinging onto you, so desperate and frantic, you couldn’t bear to think what this was doing to him.

You knew he went through something similar before.

You knew what he went through with his daughter Sarah, how devastated he still was from that alone. And to lose someone else now, the woman he was so helplessly in love with…

This would destroy him.

You fought tooth and nail to not succumb to the pain. You fought as hard as you could, struggling to remain conscious and alert, right there with Joel, in his arms. Though it was difficult to do so when you began to feel all warm and cozy, you did hear Joel begging you to stay with him as you dozed off.

Stay with me. Come on, baby, come on, please… please, c’mon, baby. You’re okay. You’re okay, I got you… I got you, I’ll—I’ll take care of you—

For weeks Joel nursed you to health. He wouldn’t let you carry any supplies or even walk up a flight of stairs. Weeks went by while he tried finding the person who shot you, to no avail. You insisted he stay with you, and as usual, he obliged. If you needed him, he’d be there for you.

Joel Miller was yours in every thinkable and unthinkable way.

Even after you recovered, Joel still made a fuss over you and made sure you were safe. His kindness didn’t run out, as he so often claimed. No; Joel still had love to give, and you could tell as much from every touch he carefully laid on your body, every peck pressed gently over your lips, and every gaze he threw at you, a mixture of admiration and melancholy.

“Joel?”

You called out to him, out of habit perhaps, but out of the sheer desire to simply see him, to be with him. Joel’s head popped from the other room, the dusty apartment you settled in over the past weeks providing refuge and comfort, but most importantly, privacy for what you intended to tell him.

“What do you need?” he asked.

“You. Sit down.”

You’ve been curled up underneath a blanket on the couch for a good three days and you’ve had just about enough of seeing Joel running around, exhausting himself whilst trying to do everything by himself.

“What’s wrong?” he asked, sitting on the other end of the couch.

You took in a deep breath and stared at him before cupping his cheeks and pulling him, saying “I want you to hear me very well right now. I’m okay.”

Joel blinked, replying with stone cold silence. His eyes roamed over your figure, as if not taking your word for it, but it was increasingly difficult when your hands felt so warm on his cheeks. Warm and alive.

“I’m okay,” you repeated, smiling at him. “My wound closed up, I regained my strength… you don’t have to do everything by yourself.”

“You were shot.”

“I’m aware of that. And now I’ve recovered. I’m alive, Joel.”

Something in that statement, so softly spoken, broke Joel. He hadn’t realized that his vision was blurred because of the tears, now stinging his eyes, and only when you pulled him in for a hug did he exhale. Like he had been holding that breath for the longest time, and he could finally feel relief.

You stroked his back and you could feel Joel tensing underneath your touch, then exhaling again and eventually relaxing.

“I thought… I thought you were gonna—“he tried to talk, but you shushed him sweetly.

“I know. I’m sorry I worried you.”

He looked up from your shoulder, eyes teary, so you stroked his cheek and smiled at him. It was unbelievable to him that you were so kind, so intoxicatingly sweet. Sometimes at night he woke up in a sweat, barely aware of the reality surrounding him after his nightmares, and patted your body to his side to make sure that you were there. Most importantly, to make sure that you were real.

Your curl your fingers in his hair, soft and fluffy after the shower he managed to take tonight, and Joel damn near crumbled under your featherlight touch.

“I don’t know what I’d do if you’d—when I thought you were gonna die, I—I couldn’t go through it again. I can’t, not with you.”

You stifled a chuckle, thinking it wouldn’t pan out well to showcase such a giggly attitude when Joel was opening up to you. Instead, you took his hands in yours and held them tightly. The gesture alone helped ground Joel; you knew that because of his panic attacks kicking in at random times, he needed something to hold onto.

You made a silent promise to be that something that was always there for him to rely on.

“I can’t promise that nothing will happen,” you told him. “But I can promise that I’ll be here with you for as long as I can. If you’ll have me.”

Joel finally looked up at you, his face seeming lighter and brighter than a few moments prior. He managed to crack a faint smile as he replied almost instantly, “I’ll always want you.”

Based on the three words you selected, I find that his social media and actions already exhibit this pretty consistently.

His loyalty to spn brand by sticking with CE cons, celebrating dean’s bday and his promotion of TW. He also comments and consistently likes his friends posts. He also showcases his loyalty to his family.

He posted a lot (along with his wife) when he directed for his aspiring image and promoted his albums.

He also remains mysterious because he rarely is seen outside of cons or work trips nor does he post personal or impromptu content. Everything seems planned so fans fill in the gaps in their own minds.

I am not sure what you would see him doing differently to lean into those traits and since he is portraying those words consistently, why do you think he has w branding problem?

I'll answer with a question: What story is Jensen telling? Who is he and why should we care? Is his SM "stories" connecting with you?

I used those 3 descriptive words because it's already what the Ackles team have attempted to cultivate. You mentioned his consistency on social media, his image has always been curated to the point that it actually feels inauthentic because it doesn't completely match with his actions. An authentic person follows through on their commitments and base their actions on their aforementioned beliefs. Did either Jensen or Misha followed through with their expressed commitment to a mental health crisis line during the YANA campaign?

Inconsistency can imply insincerity. Producers need to believe that a production is in safe hands and are unlikely to hire actor who are inconsistent in their commitments.

So it comes down to Jensen's inconsistent public persona. He ran cold and hot when it comes to interacting with Misha; he goes from never hanging with Misha outside of work while insulting him and his character, to suddenly being cutisie with Misha i.e. jumping on his back, putting his head on Misha’s shoulder - all in front of fans or leading up to the YANA campaign. In contrast, Jared’s interactions with Misha have been consistent and are always shown as buddyish, even on the show.  Jared doesn’t go out of his way to act cutsie with Misha like setting his head on his shoulder, and Misha doesn’t bait his fans into thinking there is something intimate between he and Jared.

Then there's Jensen's complacency, which hampers his consistency. I’m sure you’ve heard of “acting is reacting”, which is another way of saying you’re only as good as your scene partner. This saying gets mocked in the acting community because it’s a trap actors fall into by adjusting their truthful inner life to their assumptions about the text.  This has been Jensen's acting strength and weakness. Good acting is adjusting the text to your authentic emotion, which is the result of the other person.   Jensen is in what my acting coach calls “the truthful contact”, it’s where actors are taught the first stage of authentic acting.  The next stage is “crafting”, meaning you’re working solo without a screen partner and have to effectively get across justifications and point of views.  Jensen acting is primarily “the truthful contact” and it’s became his comfort zone. While it made him a multimillionaire by his mid 30s, it also made him complacent and dependent on the strength of his screen partner. Without the right partner, his "truthful contact" is gone and so is the connection.

godrick is probably one of my favorite fights due to how fucking dumb he is. he literally crawls toward you and throws wind at you. he has to attach a dragon to his arm to beat you and still fucking loses. all those limbs he grafted to give him power just weigh him down and i think thats really funny

margit is a very fun first story boss. his moveset is pretty cool and i have his voice line engrained into my skull

i love this boss mostly bc of the cutscene since the fight is kind of underwhelming

Dearest Skippy,

First of all my best wishes for you and your family for a healthy, joyfull and lucky 2024.

With me everything is more than hell. I am now officially poor. I am not going to explain how desperate my situation is. I pray daily and wear a beautiful modest wooden cross. Beside the rent I have 3 loans (costs unexpected moving out and mams health (dementia) costs) to pay off from 1 modest income. So I asked for centralisation of the loans which was rejected. The male employee (french but so called bilangual) spoke to me like a mitrailleur in dutch and I could hardly get to say something. So I replied 2 times by e-mail to explain my situation. No answer.

My very social niece (late dad´s only brother) did sent a Xmas card. I thanked her per SMS (no money for cards and stamps) and informed her that my mother was deceased. No answer. 

When I was 24 life seemed full of promises. Reality has showed me that for me the reverse happens. I have never met a man to start a family. So I stayed with my parents. The only people who truly loved me. That is why I lived with my mum after dad died. I am glad that I stayed with her and have done everything I I could for her when dementia destroyed her. Now I am fin finished. Beside fin hell my health : heart condition,  diabetes type II, epilepsy and brain tumor. Strange that whenever I meet a neighbour the tell me that I look so good …

I am truly sorry Skippy that I have nothing good to report but besides my 2 fur babies I have nobody to talk to. Social services in Belgium only help foreigners (who contributed nothing) not belgians (who build up the social system after WWI).

Kaeya and childe with a hurt s/o v soff omg- like imagine they’re really hurt or smth and they’re like landhrjsntjjajfnt idk they’re soff ok 😭✋

Ok but I'm big sucker of the getting hurt trope 🥺🥺 hurt/comfort

i like to think you were beaten up p badly from trying to fight a stonehide or frostarm lawachurls because those things kill me every time (but it plays out the same regardless of the enemies)

the moment Childe see’s you bloodied up or flung across the field from one of its attack he goes ape shit

Kaeya sprints to your side, drops everything to see how badly injured you are

feeds you healing potions as sort of an instant relief? at least to stop your bleeding and keep you awake

but if you’re passed out by the time you hit the ground then he’ll just stay by your side and makes sure you don’t take any more damage/ you keep breathing 

devastated, they’re so worried about you 

immediately teleports to the nearest healers they know 

For the most part, you're fine after the healing but you don't wake up immediately

The healers tell them it's normal cuz you lost a lot of blood and your body just needs to rest for a week or a little more

They're so worried, they barely leave your bedside the entire time you're there

Blames themselves for not being able to protect you and they're just very sad the entire time

Kaeya's usually pretty level headed but if someone he cares about is hurt he starts neglecting himself a little bit trying to nurse them back to health

He'll stay beside you all the time and Childe often has to remind him to eat

Childe he's worried too and he think he'd be like Kaeya too, but since Kaeya's barely eating and taking care of himself he has to step up umu

They probably get into tiny arguments a lot? It's not like they need you to peacekeep or anything, Kaeya's just on edge so he ticks a little bit easier

Childe too but he wants to care for Kaeya and you and the least he could do right now is make sure Kaeya doesn't fall sick so he backs down from a lot of the arguments

Apart from their arguments they don't talk, again it's not like they need you to be there for them to talk its just they have a lot on their minds

Childe doesn't take his emotions out onto his loved ones and he picks a lot of his battles so to release stress he goes off on rampages whenever Kaeya's fed and bathed

I don't see him taking it out on his subordinates? Like he's more snappy and agitated but he won't outright yell at them

The only time Kaeya isn't around you is when his thoughts are eating him alive, where he's anxious you won't wake again or that he's useless he couldn't even do something as easy as protecting you

So he drowns himself in his work until he either finishes them or his thoughts get so bad he has to leave for fresh air

He doesn't drink now because he still wants to be able to take care of you? Like he can't do that if he's drunk

I think they'll eventually find themselves again? After one of Childe's many rampages he comes home to find Kaeya outside staring blankly at the pavements

I just think when their eyes meet they a lil bit to realise they're a hot mess

And Childe hesitates right because Kaeya's been out of it for awhile now and he doesn't want to do anything to make him more shaken up but he knows Kaeya knows he was out trying to cope to

And i just- Kaeya opens his arms to ask for a hug, and he looks so sad and broken but also so glad that he has Childe

So Childe ungracefully stumbles into Kaeya's arms

Shut up I'm in my feels I'M IN MY FEELS

They get it together from there umu takes care of themselves a little more

And when you wake up after they're so fucking happy

You're a lil groggy and everything's kinda numb but you're so happy to see them too

They scold you sm HAHAHA no mercy yeah you just woke up from a coma but holy shit dude you need to be more careful next time

You're just glad you're awake with them by your side and you bring them in for a hug

They promise to look after you more so something like this doesn't happen again and they make you promise to run or dodge next time tf be careful

Nursing you back to health would be the easier part uwu

They'll probably take turns take care of you though? They've got work and stuff too and they've already p much neglected a lot of their work while you were out

Lots of snuggles while you're in bed because they're scared you'll leave them like that again

A lot of kisses too and lots of i love yous too just to make sure you know that they love you a whole lot

Makes you say it back too HAHAH because they haven't heard you haven't said it to them in a while uwu

You'll have to reassure them a lot too it honestly feel a little bit like you're taking care of them at some point

When you gain your strength back they're more protective of you when you guys go adventuring again

It can be a little over bearing so you have to tell them to back off and you'll be more careful stuff like that

• he might also give you something like a stuffed animal to hold against you - that way you’re still hugging something, except without the body heat

• obviously he also knows the importance of words of affirmation in moments like these. and he’s not afraid to be repetitive, if you need to hear that « you’re gonna be ok » a hundred times, he’ll say it a hundred times (and maybe more)

• if you’re feeling too weak to get up from the floor, he’ll most definitely offer to carry you to bed. but if the pain really is too sharp, he’ll go grab a few blankets/pillows and even some of his hoodies to make the floor it more comfortable for you

• and of course he stays by your side from a to z, he doesn’t mind giving you all the pillows and sitting on the hard floor

• he also keeps an eye on you every second of every minute - nothing can distract him from you because he wants to be able to catch you in case you faint

• and he always does, even if you’re just feeling lightheaded, his hands immediately find their way to your shoulders to keep you from hurting yourself

• « see ? you’ll be ok as long as i’m here »

• you might also catch him talking to your body under his breath. usually small things like « come on, give it a rest now! » because this man is willing to try anything to make your pain go away

— AKAASHI

• he knows you’re not really disposed to talk, so the only thing he’ll ask of you is to give him little updates on how you’re feeling every twenty minutes or so

• even if it’s a simple « better » or « worse », he just wants to keep track of your condition

• for the rest, it’s like he has a sixth sense. need a cold towel on your forehead? he’s got it before you even ask. need to grab hold of something because you’re feeling lightheaded? his arm is already held out.

• he also knows that your hands tend to feel numb so he’ll try to rub circles on your palm, gently squeeze your fingers or even kiss the back of your hand to try to make you feel something

• akaashi will also make sure you stay hydrated because he knows your body is going through a lot. so even if it takes hours, he’ll insist on making you drink at least a glass of water

• he usually holds the glass for you because he doesn’t want you to make any unnecessary effort

• hearing « i’m proud of you » is very common with him, but it’s even more during moments like that

• you’ve already told him that you don’t feel like there’s anything to be proud of, but he’s proven you wrong countless times already - he really admires your strength and he wants you to know it

• once the pain has passed, he’s still not letting you do anything. he probably runs you a bath and gives you some of his clothes to get changed in, makes you eat vitamin-packed snacks...

• but most importantly, he enjoys the feeling of finally be able to hold you close again - but very very carefully

• if you fall asleep, it’s fine. he’s actually happy that you’re finally going to get some « real » rest. if you don’t, it’s also fine. he’ll probably ask if you want him to read you something, or to just keep cuddling until you’re feeling sleepy

— OIKAWA

• for oikawa, the most important thing is to make sure you’re breathing properly

• so he tells you to focus on his own breathing and to try to inhale and exhale with him

• he makes you promise to ask him if you need anything. and i mean anything. from a glass of water to a reassuring kiss on the temple, tell him and he’ll do it immediately

• if you feel like you’re about to faint, he’ll let you rest your head on his lap, fingers brushing your skin to give you something to focus on other than the pain

• he’s very good with words so he usually tries to talk to you about what you’ll do together once this is over

• because thinking about spending the rest of the day cuddling in bed with him is a good way to get your mind off of your current situation

• oikawa is very good at hiding his concern for you, but something about the way his face reacts to each and every one of your movements lets you know that he really does care

• if you need him to get you some painkillers (or anything else that isn’t in the room) you can be sure that he will sprint his way out and come back to you only a few seconds later - he really hates to leave you alone

• and when you feel like throwing up, he’s insanely quick to hold your hair back (if needed) and to fan you with his hands to make sure you won’t faint

• yet he’s still very careful when touching you, he probably won’t dare to rub your belly or your back before being explicitly allowed to

• but once you’re starting to feel better, he’s probably not taking his hands off of you for a long time. that’s how you understand how worried he was

• and the following night, he’ll look after for you so much that he probably won’t get much sleep. but he doesn’t mind, your health will always come first

Kazuichi:

Kazuichi is an awkward guy, so he’s not really sure how to approach it at first.

He panics when you show up to his house with dark circles and tear stained cheeks, but after the initial shock, he quickly jumps into action.

He takes your hands and leads you inside, asking if there’s anything you need.

You weakly ask for some water. Your throat feels like someone shoved sandpaper down it.

He’ll sit you down on the couch and rush to the kitchen, returning a minute later with a glass of water, which you instantly down. It soothes the burning in your throat and makes you feel a little better.

He never asks you to say anything (He usually doesn’t know how to), but you don’t mind.

If you want to talk, he’ll listen to anything you have to say. You’ll tell him about your troubles, whether it be a mess up or just feeling sad. He’ll hold your hand and comfort you. He’ll even offer advice if he can.

If you don’t want to talk, he’ll let you lay your head in his lap while he combs his fingers through your hair.

Usually, you’ll fall asleep like that, and he never has the heart to move you, so he’ll stay there and let you sleep for as long as possible.

If he does have to leave, he’s very careful about moving you.

If you’re a light sleeper, he’ll cover you in a blanket and kiss you on the forehead.

If you’re a deep sleeper, he’ll carry you to his bed so you can sleep better. You’ll roll onto your side and burrow your face into his pillow. He’ll smile and brush your hair back and kiss you on the cheek.

He always leaves you a note telling you where he went and when he’ll be back.

Leon:

Leon gets worried when you don’t answer his messages, so he heads over to check on you.

He gets even more worried when you don’t answer the door. He tries to call you, but when he gets no response, he lets himself in with the spare key you gave him.

He finds you laying in your bed, staring up at the ceiling. You don’t move when he comes towards you, nor do you move when he sits down beside you.

When a tear slips down your face, you scrub it away forcefully. He catches your hand and laces his fingers through yours.

“It’s okay to cry.”

That’s all it takes for the dam to break. You choke on the sob that leaves your throat, and he lays down beside you. He pulls you towards him, and you roll onto your side, burying your face in his shoulder.

He rubs soft circles on your back while you cry to your heart’s content.

When you do stop, he whispers that it’s okay and that he’s right here. He tells you that he’s proud of you for being strong even when things are hard. Even when you argue, he insists that it takes a lot of strength to keep going even when you don’t want to, and he’ll tell you as many times as it takes for you to believe him.

Mondo:

Mondo can be a bit brash about it, but it’s only because he cares so much.

You have to remind yourself of that when he physically hauls you out of bed.

You can complain and argue as much as you want, but that won’t stop him.

If you’re still dressed from the day, he’ll throw you over his shoulder and carry you outside. He’ll take you to the little cake shop you love or just walk to the park down the street with you. Sometimes, you even manage to convince him to push you on the swing.

If you’re still in your pajamas, he’ll carry you to the couch and put on a movie. You don’t always want to be hugged, and he understands that.

If you don’t, he’ll let you lay on the couch with your legs across his lap.

If you do want to cuddle, you’ll sit sideways in his lap with your back against the armrest and your head on his shoulder.

He’s always happy to listen, and though he’ll threaten to beat up anyone that even mildly inconvenienced you, once you calm him down, he can actually offer some pretty good advice.

Sometimes when you’re sad, he’ll take you for a ride on his motorcycle. He’ll take you to your spot, a little hill that overlooks the whole town.

He always understands when you get like that. He knows you can’t help it, so he just does his best to comfort you.
