Lan Wangji takes a deep, calming breath. There are plenty of reasonable explanations for why his brother is out of his room after curfew that don’t involve Nie Mingjue.
He can’t think of any, currently, but that’s because the two of them slap fighting each other behind him.
“Enough,” he snaps. He can’t turn them over to the one duty senior disciple because they’re clan heirs and any punishment could have political implications, which means Xichen or Uncle need to be the ones to issue them. But Xichen isn’t here and Uncle won’t be pleased to be woken up over a couple tardy disciples. The issue of the wards is concerning, but they’d been back in place when he’d gone to check, and there’s no real reason it can’t wait to morning. “Go to your dormitory. I’ll report your actions to my uncle in the morning.”
Xichen would have been more lenient, but he thinks they could benefit from a strict punishment.
“Why don’t you escort us there?” Wei Wuxian asks with a smile that makes Lan Wangji want to lean away from him or maybe lean cl – no, definitely away. “This place is so big. You don’t want me getting lost, do you?”
The paths are rather easy to follow, even at night. They hadn’t seemed to have any trouble getting here in the first place.
Nie Huaisang retches. “Seriously? First Da-ge and now you? What is it about the Lans?” He pauses, looking Lan Wangji up and down in a way that he’s not totally certain he’s comfortable with. “Okay, I mean, I suppose I see the appeal, but still.”
Wei Wuxian reaches out to punch Nie Huaisang in the side without looking at him. “Shut up.”
“Maybe we should get more alcohol,” he continues, not listening. “I think I’m going to need it.”
Lan Wangji leaves them still bickering.

The next morning Nie Huaisang wails all throughout his punishment. It’s not even that bad – he doesn’t even have to do a handstand, just copy rules of punctuality and prohibition.
Wei Wuxian, on account of meddling with the wards (Xichen had been impressed but Uncle hadn’t been), has to a handstand for several hours in the courtyard.
Doing it shirtless seems unnecessary.
Winking at him every time he walks by also seems unnecessary.
“Wow,” Xichen says, the time he’s unfortunately there to witness this behavior. “Are you sure he’s adopted?”
“Shut up,” Nie Mingjue grumbles.
Xichen listens about as well as Nie Huaisang had. Lan Wangji can’t mind, because he shouldn’t be saying that to him anyway. “Because I remember you at a certain age-”
Nie Mingjue draws his sword and Xichen is laughing as he mirrors him, the two of the sparring across the courtyard.
Lan Wangji is glad that Xichen has a friend.
He just wishes him visiting wasn’t necessitated by Wei Wuxian and Nie Huaisang making a mess of everything as quickly as possible.

Johnny leans against the railing, glancing at your assistant as he ponders in his thoughts.
“I give her about two seconds.”

The two men share a laugh, and the rest of the staff join in as they prepare to watch you fail. It’s a distraction you cannot indulge in due to the multiple people around you and the sudden jerk your body feels when the bull begins to move.

“Looking for someone?” he questions.

Johnny nods, his cowboy hat still covering his dark eyes. He’s probably waiting for the stylists to undress him since there’s one more shoot tomorrow, but since you’re here, you might be able to help with that.
“I see you don’t have time for me today. But it’s cool.”
You roll your eyes. He knows he can’t let himself get jealous; it’s too risky. 
The first time was supposed to be the last time, but a year later you still can’t keep your hands off each other. The industry isn’t kind to artists who sleep with their managers. After years of on and off working out, I realized yoga & pilates were the kinds of workouts I could continuously do and increasingly advance in. I never gave up on those kinds of workouts because it felt more natural to my body.
-I also believe that since these placements are mostly intuitive, spiritual signs, what better way to be healthy than to do a routine that is not only is healthy but is known to spiritually ground you (ex: Yoga). I would also throw Taurus in here because they are also in tune with nature, but ofc on a more physical aspect. Still, exercise is physical.
-Mars in Libra would really benefit from having a workout buddy or a personal trainer 🏋🏾‍♀️!
-And btw, yoga and pilates are not “easy” at all. It’s an amazing way to build, tone, and strengthen your body. Until you can do a handstand without the wall, you don’t need to hate on anyone’s workouts. Just a quick note. 🤣

Staying Awake!
The name can be misleading. It sounds like being aware of your environment but no. This post is literally about staying awake. Obviously not during the day but at night.
Let's say you have a lot of work to do and you want to stay awake all night but it is really hard for you even with coffee.(You will be very happy to know that there are ways to stay awake without coffee and even better ways.) You might deduce that I am writing this post while trying to stay awake all night and yes, you are right. Let's see what we can do for long night study sessions.

Coffee is one of the best drinks for a lot of people. It can help you stay awake and be more focused. But if you use it wrong, it can cause even more sleep and you would just consume coffee for the sake of consuming. Let's see some ways to use coffee.(Or any drink that has caffeine.)
1-How to Use Caffeine
First, we have to understand how it works. Normally, when you don't ingest caffeine and stay awake for long hours, adenosine will interact with receptors in your brain and make you sleepy. So, if you want to block adenosine and stay awake for long hours, you would ingest caffeine and that way adenosine won't interact with receptors. But after caffeine starts to decrease, adenosine will come at once and it will make you sleepy very fast. Especially if you ingest caffeine after you wake up. So, what can we do about that?
Don't ingest caffeine in the first 90-120 minutes after waking up. This will help you to avoid afternoon crashes and you will get more benefits from caffeine. Also, if you use it frequently caffeine won't be able to block adenosine so, you would just ingest caffeine and wouldn't get any benefits. For that, you can take a nap in the afternoon and then ingest caffeine.

2-Movement
If you just sit all night and try to stay awake, that would be very hard because your body wouldn't get any signal to stay awake. You have to move regularly, even if it just means you take a 5-minute walk. Walk, run, do some push-ups, boxing etc. Just move. You will be more energetic and focused.
3-Handstand
I would like to write it separately because it is an amazing tool. You can do it on the wall or free. It increases the blood flow to your brain and that way all of the blood on your legs from sitting for long hours spreads through your body. Eventually, it increases focus, energy and overall mood. Give it a try when you feel sleepy and you will see the power.

4-Do not eat too much
If you eat too much, your body creates signals for sleeping and it becomes very hard for you to stay awake. If you have to eat, choose some snacks rather than a whole meal. Fruits and protein bars are very effective choices. They also consist of healthy sugar so your brain will get some glycogen and work more efficiently.

5-Taking Breaks
If you feel tired after working for so long, take some breaks. But be careful when you lie down because you can fall asleep. To avoid that, before lying down, do some exercise and use alarms. Your purpose is not to take a nap but rather to rest your brain, eyes, ears and other body parts you have at your disposal.
There are a lot of amazing tools you can use but to keep it short, I will share them in separate posts. Try these and see how it goes. If you have any questions, send them. For now, that's all. See you.

When you first approached Hunter about incorporating dance into his fitness regimes he thought you were joking. However when one day you brought out a radio Tech created and played some lively hip hop music he realised how little you were joking.
“I don’t dance.” He tells you with his arms crossed and you can only grin and shake your head at him at how easy it is for him to dismiss ideas.
“Well it’s a good job I used to. Watch me and just copy.” So he takes a step back and watches you. Admittedly, he thought you were going to make a fool out of yourself. Since you were not very hand-eye coordinated and had walked into too many walls to count, he was expecting a disaster.
How wrong he was.
Your body was locking in places he didn’t know you could lock, he watched in sheer amazement as you managed to (on beat to the music as well) roll up into a one handed handstand. All the while you looked so good doing it. Once the song ended, you turned to him to see his mouth hanging wide open and stuttering over his words.
Eventually he managed to say, “I didn’t know you could move like that.” He gapes at you, watching you brush the sweat off your brow and he could hear how fast your heart had accelerated.
“I’m a little rusty but I feel so pumped! You sure you don’t want to try and dance with me?”
After what he witnessed and very doubtful he could be as good as you, he saw the benefits and joy in it so from then on merged some hiphop dancing with you into his morning workouts.

It was such a joy for you when Wrecker said he wanted to try and learn dancing with you. He knew you could dance and had seen you dance with your dance partner back on your home planet so he wanted more than anything to learn with you.
He told you that ‘since you’re coming with us, I don’t want you to stop dancing forever!’
As Wrecker was a gentle giant, with you anyway, it was not really a surprise that he was considerably flat footed and would stomp his feet when he danced. He would grumble how he didn’t know the difference between a rock step and a triple step and would curse at himself when giving you the wrong hand. But you never complained. You were just lucky to have someone dance swing with you.
He was eager to try and do some lifts with you but you had a feeling it was to show off his strength more than anything. You felt safe with him, of course, but you certainly would not attempt these lifts in front of others as it could be dangerous and very embarrassing if he were to drop you.
His favourite dance move was doing a back to back lift/flip with you. There was something fun in him being able to lift you backwards and flip you over his head carelessly because he knew you would be able to make it look good and it wasn’t majorly dangerous.

He’s not a dancer and did not care for it. Until he met you.
Crosshair never knew you could dance until he walked in on you with a pair of headphones on doing the most mystical looking spins and elegant jumps he had ever seen. At the time you weren’t dating so he teased you a little for ‘prancing around’ but he had secretly hoped he would walk in on you dancing again.
When you did start dating you did ask Crosshair if he would ever do Ballet with you and he practically scoffed in your face. Whilst your face dropped he panicked at how rude he was and apologised. “I’m sorry cyare, it’s just not something I would be interested in.”
It did sting a little and thought it was a shame since Crosshair had the perfect lean and tall physique for a ballet dancer. But, you never stopped from doing your love of dance. After all, you had trained on your home planet for years and years. Why stop now?
One evening you’re all staying in a rather luxurious hotel on Naboo thanks to a mission going amazingly well and you were in awe to see that it had a theatre room with a large stage where they would sometimes put on shows.
Now, you’re a mischievous one and snuck out of yours and Cross’ room that night and swiped up your ballet slippers and clothes and headed straight to the stage.
Crosshair had stirred awake once he heard the door close to the room and he waited a few minutes before following after you, curious as to where you were going.
He pauses outside the door to the theatre room once he hears classical music playing from within. He had not seen you dance since he walked in on you that one time months ago so was more than eager not to get caught.
As he watches you once he sneaks in, he’s in awe. If he is to be honest as well, he is quite emotional.
You looked so elegant that you made every move so effortlessly. Although he didn’t want to take part in it he had heard you talk about different positions such as pirouettes and arabesques. He thought they sounded silly but he didn’t realise how difficult they looked either. The sheer strength in your core and feet were second to one and once the music ended and you stopped, he made his presence known by clapping aloud.
You’re startled and almost horrified until you realised it was Crosshair who had been watching you from the back.

“What are you watching, darling? Is that you?” Tech didn’t mean to pry into your personal space but when he sees you watching a dance clip on your holopad and sees you, he’s widely curious.
You smile and nod. “It is. I used to dance back home.”
“I was not aware you were a dancer. A seemingly good one at that.” He compliments, pushing his goggles up the bridge of his nose as he leans over your shoulder to watch.
“Thanks Tech. I miss it.”
He raised a brow at you. “Why do you not continue?”
“Nobody to dance with. The Tango isn’t so great to dance if there’s only one of you.” You sigh, clicking off the video and placing it back on the control panel before standing. “Anyway, I’m too busy looking after you lot.”
Tech watches you leave and in an instant hatches up a plan to make sure you continue to do the thing you love.
When you’re about to head out for a mission, Hunter pulls you aside and tells you that you and Tech need to do repairs to the ship.
“But we did it yesterday? What could have possibly been broken now?” You frown, crossing your arms.
“The uh, hyperdrive is faulty. We’ll be back soon anyway.” He tells you and by his tone you know he’s up to something.
So, you let him go and join Tech up in the cockpit once called for help.
What you weren’t expecting however was to see him suited up and had a hand outstretched to you. You’re almost shocked for words.
“W-what are you doing?” You question with slightly wide eyes.
“I am hoping you will accompany me while dancing the Tango with me. Albeit I’ll need some lessons and advice on how to perform. Research has left me confused as there appears to be more than one type of dance.” He explains and you’re almost overcome with emotion.
Gladly, you take his hand. “You want to dance with me?”
“I don’t see why not? I am interested in your hobbies just as much as you are in mine.” He grins, pulling you close and straightens his posture. After all, he did his research. “So, where do we begin?”
You’re surprised to say the least but pleasantly. Alas, you put him in the correct hold and for some reason being pressed to him sent chills up and down your arms. You never thought this would interest him so you were happy to see him take note of your words and move with you.
With a renowned new power and stride, Tech felt his confidence increase with every step and once you applied music to the lesson, he only realised how sensual the dance was as well.
He couldn’t help but gaze at your face, so strong and powerful looking that it was extremely attractive. You allowed him to caress your body, his breathing getting a little ragged as you both expressed your seeming emotions in synchronised movements.

Scp au brain drabble ftw
No idea if or where the others would fit into this yet
Vio's been in the facility since he was very small (maybe HE'S an SCP??) Very smart retains info like a sponge. Aptitude for biological anomalies and chemical make up DNA ECT. He could recite chemical formulas like a textbook.
Shadow is very very very old. From imprisoning war old (current era after totk kinda? Idk def high tech enough to run these sort of facilities) deals with it by being childish/impish. When alone with Vio shows his more mature side rarely. Usually a few hours deep into co research and development.
049 ish. Instead of a zombie virus he spreads malice by touch, can use shadows around him ECT. Is there willingly. Mutual benefits. He gets to live, has a mostly safe environment where he can't accidentally cause an apocalypse, and gets unrestricted access to whatever research regarding malice he wants or needs. (Test subjects of criminals on death row situation, not that that occurs very often)
Vio has been in contact with him since he started there but has always clicked with him. Shadow v fond of the little "hylian" (again, possibly an SCP idk yet). Flirts constantly. Sometimes in an ancient language Vio is obsessed with cracking (lorulian p much)
If Vio ever figures out what he's actually saying he would die of embarrassment. It's actually very cliche and romantic. Vio tends to get the gist of his tone though.
(side note flirting obviously starts at an appropriate age this shit takes place when he's like mid 20s to 30s)
Basic structure of plot would be Vio was escorting Shadow (who he gets in trouble for naming Shadow instead of his SCP number constantly) to some kind of lab? Testing chambers? And they're going over the sky walks when a breach occurs and shakes the whole ass building. Shadow (maybe doing smth stupid to show off? Balancing on the rails, handstand near the edge, whatever)
He falls and out of pure instinct Vio grabs him bare handed like touching his bare skin on his arms to haul him back up.
Shadow is freaking the fuck out because 1: just saved his life and 2: just touched him! Bare handed! No gloves!
And Vio's fine. Totally panicking right now but fine.
He's put into quarantine with Shadow for 2 weeks in his room to see if anything changes. Shadow touches him like hourly. Mans hasn't touched bare skin in decades. And never someone who stayed alive.
Cheek caress, face touch, checking his pulse, feeling his temp on the back of his neck and forehead. Literally any excuse to touch him. Obviously eventually a kiss too. (Maybe no cams allowed in his bed area?)
Idk if he would have an immunity to malice or is like an SCP type that malice would have no effect on?

I wish commentators would stop saying judges can’t see leg separations on bars (when the gymnast’s hips are parallel to the bar, particularly for handstands and shaps). I know the rules say the benefit of the doubt goes to the gymnast when judges can’t be 100% sure, but it’s also evident that ncaa judges arent taking some of the deductions that we know they can plainly see lmao

Officer Violet wishes to talk with Itadori after what she just learned. How would this go? While they talked, Megumi and Kisho have the cell to themselves so how are they're going to spend their night without Itadori? Also, Kinie Ger is now eating dinner with Sukuna. Meanwhile...Oblivion goes to call in a favor to find more about Yuuka.

Jinx thought of leaving Itadori alone. Maybe like two hours or maybe the night. An hour has been passed and it is still making her upset. She doesn't know why she's upset. But there's something about what Kisho and Megumi told her. She takes a water break and was now mulling over her thoughts. But now....she needs to say this. She has to or else...or else! Ugh! Time to go back and tell him!
Walking back to the cell where Itadori is being confined. She takes a breath and says her name.
"Itadori..."
"Hm?"
Itadori is in his cell while he is doing handstands inside his cell. Jinx gulps as she sees the back muscles, abs and alethic body with a light sheen of sweat.
Jinx takes a breath. You can do this, Jinx. You can do this.
"Yes? Officer Violet?" Itadori pauses on his handstand as he looks at her through the rectangular window.
"Why didn't you tell me that the other prisoner provoked you?" She asked.
"It doesn't excuse what I did," Yuji said simply as he continued his handstands before doing push-ups. Jinx sighed. "I know but he said other things that must of set you off. I'm going to be honest...but I don't take you for a person that goes off at every little thing like Bakugo does."
Itadori doesn't respond.
"Why did you help me back there?"
"Huh?" Itadori said as he was now sitting and was about to do crunches. Jinx reiterates, "You helped me fight against Akane and Snake Woman? Why? You could have left me and made a break for it. What's the reason?"
"There's no reason...I just do it because I felt like it." Itadori said. Jinx isn't convinced, "Is that all? So what you did at lunch is no reason for all?"
Feeling a bit frustrated, Itadori sighs. "Officer Violet, I did it because you were having trouble fighting against that lady, and her snake demon. And you were watching over me since you're in charge of me so you're just doing your job. It was the right thing to do."
"Right thing to do?" Jinx repeated. Itadori raises, "Yeah. I meant I say back there. To be honest, you got a good fighting style but you're having trouble so that's why. "
No response.
Itadori waited for a response but got nothing. This got him to raise a brow, "Officer Violet?"
Still no response.
"Jinx?" He said his first name. Then a sound is heard. The door begins to unlock and soon, Jinx opens it as the cap and hair hide her eyes as she begins to walk over to Itadori. Itadori is now standing tall as he looks over to her.
"Don't....lie to me." Jinx begins, "You did it because of me!" Jinx yelled, closing her fist. "Your friends told me why you did it! They said that one of the prisoners that if they win the fight, they're going to make you serve them and bring female guards, they even mentioned me by looks. You fought the Snake Devil because of me! Besides...why do all that! Especially after meeting your lawyer?! Especially pulling that on me!" Jinx said now upset.
"Why are you trying to say?!" Jinx said, "Besides...I'm strong enough! I am! So strong that I can even take what you give out? Like..like...the other night! So stop underestimating me, Yuji Itadori!" Jinx said as she looked red in the face.
As she said all this, she didn't even look up to Yuji Itadori until she felt a hand taking her cap off and patting her head. "I don't underestimate you. In fact, I kinda like you a lot seeing you fight. But I don't want to see you get hurt. It makes me not want to forgive you after talking how strong you were."
"Forgive me?! If anything, I should be forgiving you for what you just pulled on me, the other day!" Jinx puffed her cheeks. "And to tell you the truth! I won't forgive you for that at all!"
"The other day?" Yuji blinked before realizing blowing a raspberry, "Oh...is that when after you told me to go to jail? Even though...we're already in jail?" He said with a teasing smile.
Jinx's cheeks flushed red, hearing, "D-don't remind me, mister!" Jinx points at him. "I-I'm not dumb."
"I didn't say that nor thinking about that."
"And...and...I'm not weak enough to fall for your tricks!" Jinx exclaimed. Yuji raised a brow, "Tricks?"
"You know what I'm talking about Itadori Yuji!" Jinx yelled. "Where...you made me...you know!" Jinx yelled. Yuji hums as he gets it now. "Oh...Like this?" Just as quick as tiger, he goes to back Jinx into a corner with his hand trapping her hands above her and pinning her against the wall. Jinx is now screaming inside as she is in shock.
"H-hey! I don't mean like that!"
"And what do you mean?" Yuji asked. Jinx is biting back her cheek, "I-I won't lose! You heard me! Whatever you do to me, I won't give in! I s-swear it!"
"Really?" Yuji asked.
"Yes! I dare you to try! I won't lose!" Jinx said with full confidence. Yuji then smiled so mischievously that made Jinx shiver. "Alright then...let's see what you got."
---- In the other cells ----
"Nnhng...hey Megumi..."
"Hm?"
"Is Itadori going to be okay?" Kisho asked as he laid his head on his lap. Megumi answers, "Yeah. Itadori is going to be fine." He said, looking outside his cell. It was nighttime now.
"And w-what about Officer Violet?" Kisho asked. Megumi pats his head to assure, "She is going to be fine too. Besides Itadori likes her the moment he saw her. That's what I think."
"Really?" Kisho asked.
"Really." Megumi nods. Kisho utters a soft groan before he asks, "Okay..also....uh...one more thing"
"Hm?"
"C-can we take a break?" Kisho asked nervously as he looks to be flushed and is now shaking a bit. To which Megumi scowls and quickly smacks his butt making the other yelped.
"Like I said...your punishment is long overdue, Kisho." He said as he went to turn the dial up with the remote making Kisho gasp and shudder as the vibrator hits all the right spots in his ass. He can't help but moan. He was forced to sit up by Megumi as the shadow sorcerer goes to bite his neck making Kisho whimper.

"That's why I said you're going to get a reward after your punishment." Megumi tells him, "Besides..you escaped your punishment because we were interrupted by that break-in. So I'm going to follow through." He said as he went to finger him, making Kisho moan softly. "Since Itadori isn't here, it means we got a lot of time on our hands. So let's take advantage of it." He smiles darkly.

"Tell me...are you offering this deal for the sake of Itadori?" She asked. "Truthfully, it's understandable. Because it seems like the Six Claws shows us that their enemies would be willing to break in."
"Correct." Sukuna smiles, "Very perceptive."
"I mean...it isn't that impressive.. " Kinie said, before sipping her wine a bit. Just a bit. She doesn't like wine but she will tolerate for the sake of her host.
"Still. Most people don't get and would refuse but you on the other hand think hard on this and that break-in just gives you a reason to go with this idea." Said Sukuna. "By the way...why you didn't suspect me behind the break-in?"
"Huh?" Kinie blinks. "Why would I? That would be against your plan? Why the reason to bring the lawyer along? It doesn't make sense and a break-in could leave things messy and loose ends. That said...you're the kind of person who seems confident in winning a legal battle. "
"Correct." Sukuna smiles.
KInie narrows her eyes at this. "Are you trying to test me to see how smart I am?"
"No. Just curious. Besides..you have already proven yourself. After all, why did you hire those officers from those different precincts? When I heard about who is looking after the Six Claws and my brother." He said. "It's surprising but it makes sense. Officer Vanguard is a good-hearted and her.....special way of handling prisons is quite something. Something that Six Claws were trying to figure out. Officer Violet is a good match-up as she is good at combat. While the third one, Officer Vin Shia makes sure to keep everything in order given those two's personalities."
Kinie blinks before sighing, "You know me too well, Ryomen." She said with a small smile. Speaking of which how is Officer Violet doing with Itadori. Unlike the Six Claws, it seems like Itadori is an easy mission to handle.
----- Back at prison ----
"AAH!" She climaxes again. Jinx falls onto the bed as she is gripping the pillow close to her face while covering her face with an arm. She looks to the ceiling with half-lidded eyes as they are now glowing yellow-red. Then she felt the hot muscle coming back at her folds.

okay so, i’ve been watching the commonwealth games and it made me realise that bakugo 100% has a gymnast's physique. they have such broad shoulders, big arms and slim waists.
now i’m imagining bakugo doing a routine in the gym that doesn’t include weights or anything. but instead he’s using one of the pommel horses, typically these are used for artistic gymnastics but the benefits it gives bakugo for loosening up, whilst also building core muscles and his arms/legs? yeah he doesn’t give a fuck what the original use is for.
so here he is, stood next to the chalk bowl whilst he coats his hands generously, he has to apply a little more than the usual because of his quirk. he’s in a tight tank top that hides nothing and tight fitting sweatpants.
the gym is empty so he knows he won’t disturbed or have to answer questions when he finally grabs the two handles and hoists himself up. all muscles are instantly being worked, his biceps are tensed and bulging, his stomach tightens to support his legs as he brings them up and around until he’s “sitting”. his legs aren’t touching the horse and his arms and wrists are doing all the work.
he continues this kind of easy routine until he brings his legs back around, focusing on his wrists and throwing himself up into a handstand with his toes pointed perfectly. anyone would think he was an actual gymnast but his job as a hero, who’s airborne a lot of the time, he requires to be very flexible.
he shifts all of his weight onto one hand, slowly lowering himself down whilst holding the handstand and then slowly raising back up in a one-handed push-up. he’s nailed this routine over the years, having started to master it in his teens and continued to work on it throughout his adult life.
maybe one day he’ll show it someone other than kirishima who actually only found out during high school because he walked in on bakugo mid-routine. maybe one day he’ll show it to you, but until then he’s content with keeping it to himself.

Yes, sadly in the Royals AU Edmund did pass tragically, with the press's intrusion on his death and funeral having a formative impact on not just Benedict but all of the family.
King Edmund had been such an affable man and was always so welcoming, which would be to his detriment. He had thought working hand in hand with the press would keep them onside, which is why each one of his newborn children were presented to the world on the front steps of the hospital shortly after Violet had given birth, how one day a year cameras were allowed access into the palace to capture the royal family behaving just like any other family, and how the press would be there for every single prince and princess's first day at their new school. He gave them far too much leeway, thinking it would benefit the family and keep the media well fed, but as the old saying goes; you give them an inch, they'll take it a mile.
No matter how much they were provided with, the media always wanted more and had begun going to drastic lengths to get it. When word reached the tabloid offices that Prince Anthony had a girlfriend, they tracked down the teenage couple at a cinema and surrounded them, upsetting Anthony's first love in the process and scaring her off entirely. When Benedict was fifteen, pictures of him indulging in a sneaky cigarette were splashed all across the front pages, pictures which had been leaked by so-called friends of his. The final straw was when paparazzi had sneaked onto the grounds of Eloise and Francesca's primary school and photos taken of the girls doing handstands with their friends with their skirts falling down to expose their knickers being published. Edmund was outraged and appalled at just how low the media had sunk and immediately implemented measures to keep the press at bay.
However, due to this sudden u-turn, the press were even more demanding and began trailing the royal family wherever they went as the king waited for the court orders to process in order to have some control over the media. Unfortunately, Edmund wouldn't live to see such implementations; after leaving an awards ceremony for wounded veterans, his car was chased by paparazzi, resulting in a car crash that claimed the young king's life.
The country went into mourning and a week later crowds silently lined the streets as the king's coffin was drawn towards the cathedral, with his heavily pregnant wife and their seven children all dressed in black trailing behind. The sight and the images taken were heartbreaking, the devastation and agony clear to see across all of the family's faces. It was the most harrowing day of all of their lives, and then a few short days later, when Violet was taking a short walk around the palace grounds, she was accosted by a paparazzo who had managed to get past security. She had screamed at him to leave, yelling out for security, lambasting the odious man for breaching her privacy, and the stress of it all brought on her labour. She cried out for help and much to her horror, all the vile man did was take photos of her in her hour of need. Having heard their mother's screams, her children had come running; Benedict and Daphne seeing to their labouring mother and helping her to her feet, whilst Anthony punched the paparazzo in the face before Colin and Eloise grabbed a hold of his camera and smashed it to pieces.
Ever since then the royal family have had a very strained relationship with the press, though it has bettered in recent years with Daphne's marriage to the Grand Duke of the neighbouring principality and the babies she had welcomed, as well as King Anthony's marriage to Kate. After Benedict's dance with Sophie at the charity ball was publicized and heavily scrutinized, he immediately vowed to her to keep their relationship private, knowing how daunting it would be to have everyone knowing their business so early on. The longer their relationship continued, the more precious Sophie became to him and while he knew without a doubt he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, he feared the day she would be forced into the spotlight because of him, being protective as he was of her already. When the dreaded day finally came of the country learning of Sophie's existence, Benedict assured her the press knew their boundaries; until they proved him wrong and he watched the videos online of how brutally hounded she was and how clearly distraught his girlfriend was as a result. He had been naive in thinking the media would know their place after everything that had happened with his father, assuming the newer generation of press would practise common decency. In retrospect, Sophie was the first royal partner known to the public (seeing as Daphne and Simon, and Anthony and Kate's relationships had taken place in private prior to the announcements of their engagements), and in the eyes of the media she was theirs for the taking. When Benedict marched into the palace offices to demand a press statement be released in order to get the media to back off from his girlfriend, he was informed that the King, the Queen, and the Dowager Queen had already ordered it, all of them horrified by what poor Sophie had endured. Though assured he had his family's support on the matter, Benedict wanted it to be made clear in the statement that he wasn't asking the press to back off, he was telling them in no uncertain terms to leave Sophie alone. After this warning the press began conducting themselves better and during their first public appearances as a couple Benedict's arm was permanently fixed around Sophie's waist, not letting her go for even a second and constantly glaring at the press, reminding them to know their place with nothing more than a curt nod.

Yes!!!!!!! If there's an adult gymnastics class near you that takes beginners, you absolutely should. They'll teach you all the basics and help you learn cartwheels, handstands, balance, body positions, and other foundational skills. It's a great workout for your whole body and very fun in a relaxed environment.
I used to go to adult gymnastics classes and they had us split up by levels. There were very beginners there up to ex-D1 college athletes. Be aware that tumbling is kind of hard on your joints as an adult if you progress. I tried to focus on the other apparatus to avoid injury. 😂

There are certain foundational yoga poses that exemplify yoga as a practice, and eagle is one of them. This standing pose is unique in that it has so many different stages, from the nested version—where you curl in tight—to letting your eagle soar away as you come out of the posture. At its most basic, eagle pose appears to be another one-legged balance asana, but it’s actually a journey toward freedom. “The eagle yoga pose, garudasana, is associated not only with an animal but also with a god named Garuda, described as having a golden body, white face, red wings, talons, and a curved beak,” writes author and yoga teacher Alison Zak in her recent book, Wild Asana: Animals, Yoga, and Connecting Our Practice to the Natural World. “He reigns as king of the birds in Hindu mythology and symbolizes integrity because he once carried the nectar of immortality in his beak without drinking a drop of what was not rightfully his.” There are three distinct parts to the pose. The first is remaining upright. In the second part we curl into the nest of our legs, which engages the abdominals. The final part is the coming out of the pose, where we spread our wings and “fly away.” Eagle can also be broken up into upper and lower halves and then sprinkled into other yoga asanas. The arms and upper body can be practiced in a variety of alternative poses, like the warrior poses or half moon. “I love to teach eagle arms in poses such as goddess or even seated in virasana or vajrasana,” says Neeti Narula, a popular yoga guide on the Melissa Wood Health app. The legs can be added to any inversion, like handstand and headstand, to spruce it up a bit. This is how Los Angeles–based teacher and co-owner of Yoga Sanctum, Audrey Rey Espinosa, loves exploring the posture: “I love coming into a tripod headstand with eagle legs and then straddle, switching legs mid-air!” Regardless if you choose to keep one talon on the ground, eagle teaches us how to find freedom and spaciousness—both in flight and in the confines of the nest. Benefits of eagle pose Balance improvement “This is the perfect pose to work your body for balance,” says Espinosa, but it’s not as simple as balancing on one leg. There is a dynamism to the balance requirements as you move between stages. Moving through the stages is also a sure-fire concentration boost. It’s hard to think about anything else when you’re focusing on not falling. “[Do your] best to bring awareness to the foot that is on the ground, and root down through all four corners—the inner and outer heel, and the mound under the big toe, as well as the mound under the pinky toe,” recommends Brian Hyman, RYT, IAYT, author of Recovery with Yoga. Leg strengthening There are a number of yoga asana that strengthen our outer hips—but not eagle pose. It lengthens our outer hips and glutes and strengthens our inner thigh muscles, our adductors. “Eagle is a go-to counterpose after doing a series of external hip shapes,” says Espinosa, who has battled with a hypermobile pelvis and sacrum since giving birth eight years ago. “This asana helps me rehabilitate and feel balanced and strong after doing a lot of warrior poses.” Upper-body stretch The arm position, even when modified, provides a delicious upper-body stretch in our back and shoulders, particularly the rhomboids, which bring the shoulder blades together. Narula teaches the prenatal program at Melissa Wood Health and loves focusing on this benefit with her pregnant students: “Eagle arms can feel really wonderful during pregnancy as our backs and shoulders are in need of opening!” It's also a wonderful stretch for our fascia, and eagle arms is known to be an excellent yoga pose for headaches. Agility improvement The various phases of eagle require a lot of agility. From the beginning, you are weaving parts of your body together while balancing on one foot. Then you have to maintain the wrap while you round down and in, only to reverse it all to come out of the pose. Eagle also asks us to hug in with certain areas, but expand in others.
All of these seemingly contradictory asks require agility and an ability to move with nuance. Breath control Moving between the upright version to the curled in version is an opportunity for us to practice maintaining a steady breath, regardless of circumstance. That said, the phase where we are “nesting” can be challenging for people with histories of anxiety, warns Espinosa, who has experienced shortness of breath in the posture. “Start slow and make your breath the most important piece,” she advises. How to do eagle pose Photo: Sarah Ezrin Start in chair pose with your feet together, knees bent, and weight in your heels. Lift your left leg and cross it over your right, so your thighs are stacked. If you’re able, tuck your left foot behind your right ankle. Inhale your arms into a wide T-shape. Now cross the opposite arm on top: Right elbow over left. Bend at your elbows, bringing your forearms perpendicular to the floor. Cross at your wrists to connect your palms together (or press the backs of the hands together) This is part 1: Upright eagle. Take an inhale, then as you exhale, begin to curl your spine forward. Imagine touching the front of your knees with your elbows. It’s okay if you don’t get all the way down. Keep your shoulders sliding out of your ears and maintain a broad chest. Bow your head, tucking your chin into your chest. This is part 2: Nesting eagle. Hold here for 5 breaths. Coming out, first return to upright eagle on an inhale and pause there to exhale. Untangle your top leg, passing back through chair pose. Untangle your arms and slowly stand up to mountain pose. Set up for your second side. How to modify eagle pose for beginners Although eagle can be classified as one of the basic yoga poses, our proportions and balance can make it advanced really quickly. Using props and/or backing off is a great way to land your eagle in order to fit your needs. Plus, as Narula says, “sometimes the ‘modifications’ can actually be more physically challenging than the bound and/or balance version because without the distraction of trying our best to stay upright, we have to stay honest.” Beginner doesn’t mean “easy” or “less than,” it simply means you are still learning the pose. Kickstand your bottom foot or place your toes on a block Reminder that finding the right asana alternative is all about what works for your body. “My relationship with the posture has definitely changed over the years. When I first began practicing yoga, I was extremely focused on getting very deep into the bind aspects of the posture," says Narula. "Today, I often use the foot of my top leg as added balance support rather than taking my toes behind the opposite calf. I find that this way feels more spacious and allows me to feel more aligned in the posture, creating that steadiness and ease quality that is essential to any asana." Give yourself a hug or press your forearms together The wrapping of the arms, like many twisting yoga poses, can be a challenge for a variety of reasons, whether that's your natural body proportions or even injury. “Try arm variations, such as grabbing opposite shoulders, rather than the traditional arms,” suggests Narula. This will create a similar opening in the upper back, without overly taxing the shoulders. If you need to avoid the wrapping altogether, you can always press palms and forearms together. "The forearms together variation creates space between the shoulder blades, where tension and stress is stored within the body, so that would be a good way to let go of the weight of the world that we carry there,” says Hyman. Quick tips for mastering eagle pose There are some common misalignments in eagle which can be remedied with tiny adjustments. Keep your weight in your standing heel Once the legs start to wrap, there’s a tendency to bring all our weight toward our standing toes, which can make balance more precarious, especially if you choose to nest. Once in the pose, really sit back with the hips, bringing more weight into your standing heel.
“Without a stable connection to the ground, which provides the foundation for eagle pose, sensations of freedom and lightness that allow us to feel that we are rising above the circumstances of life will unlikely be cultivated or maintained,” explains Hyman. Press your top elbow down, as you lift your bottom elbow up Eagle benefits from a lot of opposite actions. One such action is the top upper arm bone pressing down into the bottom upper arm bone, as your bottom upper arm bone gently lifts toward your head. This upper arm tug-of-war helps glide the shoulder blades down your back. Hollow the belly to nest more deeply Many people try to fold flat to nest their eagle and miss the nest entirely. Take a huge exhale and really round your spine in order to bring your elbows to your top thighs. This will hollow your belly and allow you to tuck you in nicely. Put your inner thighs to work Narula loves to cue students to “squeeze their inner thighs together gently, which naturally helps bring the low belly online and elongates the low back rather than sticking the tailbone out.” Eagle pose variations 1. Supine eagle If balance is a real challenge, supine eagle is a great way to get the binding benefits of pose without needing to stand. Start on your back with your knees bent and feet on the floor. Cross your left leg over your right, like you’re sitting at a desk chair. Lift your shins so they are parallel to the floor. If possible, double cross your left toes behind your right ankle. Cross your arms over your chest with your right arm over your left. Double-cross to either press the backs of the hands together or cross at wrists to touch palms. Touch your toes toward the earth and your fingertips overhead for a lovely spine stretch. Untangle and repeat on your opposite side. 2. Eagle crunch Want some extra core work? Try adding the eagle crunch to your flow. From supine eagle, inhale first. On an exhale, curl your spine, bringing your knees and elbow together. Inhale return to supine eagle. Repeat 5 full rounds. Once complete, untangle your limbs and pause before doing side two. 3. Prenatal version This prenatal eagle helps create more space for growing bellies, and is also a great option if you have hip injuries. Stand near a wall with your feet hip-width apart. The wall is there for balance. Sit back into chair pose, with your feet together, hips back, and knees bent. Cross your right ankle over your left leg, coming into figure-4 legs. Take the arms into eagle: crossing left elbow over right and crossing once more at wrists. If the upper body portion is feeling too constricting with your growing belly, consider one of the optional arms variations listed above (such as elbows pressing together or giving yourself a hug). Hold for 3 breaths. Untangle the arms and legs and stand up. Repeat with the other leg and arm on top. Reasons you might want to skip eagle Pregnancy Eagle is generally contraindicated for pregnant people. “In eagle, the legs crossed makes for a very narrow center, so balance becomes especially difficult," says Narula, who runs a prenatal program for the Melissa Wood Health app. "Additionally, the top leg crossing over the bottom leg may can create pressure and restriction against the lower part of the belly in later pregnancy" Eagle pose is also not a hip opener—it's primarily internal rotation, which is the opposite of what you'll want to focus on during pregnancy. Hip openers "prepare us for birth, such as those involving external rotation or our hips," says Narula. Shoulder injury Shoulder injuries can prohibit people from getting their arms across their chest. “If you cannot take the full arm wrap in eagle pose, a bear hug is an option,” suggests Hyman. “The hands can also be brought to the heart as yet another option. These alternatives are beneficial because they avoid further pain or worsening of injuries, while yogis simultaneously get a chance to find their own personal practice.” Hip injury “Eagle
legs are a great way to engage the inner leg and pelvis adductor muscles that help stabilize the femur bone in the hip socket, but this may not serve anyone who has groin pain or injuries in the Iliopsoas like bursitis or tendonitis,” says Espinosa. If you’re dealing with hip injuries, skip the legs or substitute with the figure-4 option mentioned in the prenatal version.

While this is true, one of the most overlooked activities can actually make or break your performance: flexibility training.

What Does it Mean to Be Flexible as an Athlete?
Having flexibility means you can move your joints or group of muscles through their complete range of motion without discomfort or restrictions. People often perform full-body stretches before and after physical activity to improve flexibility. It’s essential to warm up before working out or playing a sport because your increased heart rate delivers more blood to your muscles. This ensures that they can move the way they’re supposed to and help you retain flexibility.
The Importance of Flexibility and Sports
Flexibility is necessary for athletes because it helps boost their performance. It improves posture, allowing for more efficient movement while preventing body misalignments. Not only that but being flexible can also help athletes maintain appropriate muscle mass balance and length. Muscles that are too tight can hinder proper form during a sport or physical activity.
This doesn’t mean all athletes are supposed to be contortionists, though! Ultimately, you’re less likely to perform at your best when you lack a decent amount of flexibility and range of motion.

Yoga
Yoga typically combines gentle stretching and strengthening exercises to promote relaxation and control of the mind and body. It requires work from all parts of the body, including the arms, legs, glutes, and back. Having optimal flexibility in those areas can allow you to get into certain yoga positions and experience their benefits.
Even if you aren’t that flexible, it can certainly improve the more you practice yoga.
Gymnastics
It goes without saying that gymnastics requires some serious flexibility, particularly in the hips and shoulders. If a gymnast doesn’t have flexibility, agility, or strength, they won’t have the full range of motion to successfully perform their stunts. That can impact your score greatly if you’re competing!
Common moves performed in gymnastics that rely on optimal flexibility are:

Cartwheels
Handstands
Somersaults
Back handsprings
Diving
A good diver knows they should have good flexibility in the shoulders and upper back. Diving positions fold your body in all sorts of different shapes. For example, the tuck position has your knees touching your chest. The pike position also requires the diver’s body to be bent at the waist with their legs remaining straight and their toes pointed for the duration of the move.
Surfing
This one may come as a surprise to most people but having flexibility while you surf is pretty important. It allows you to bend freely, so you can easily turn the surfboard to maneuver through the waves on the water. Surfing requires a lot of work from the hips, shoulders, and neck.
Building flexibility and strength in those joints will help you become a better surfer by preparing your body for high-stress scenarios.
Combat Sports
To be successful in combat sports, you should have good posture and quick reflexes. Being flexible is important for your posture and allows your joints to be in the correct positions to stretch and contract during swift motions. Fighters want to keep all the major muscle groups and joints throughout their bodies nice and limber so they can move easily.

Pole Vaulting
Flexibility is imperative for pole vaulters because a proper technique requires a good stretch reflex. When you push off the ground to jump, it produces a stretch in the hips and quads. Your shoulders also go through a stretch reflex when you push the pole into the box. Good flexibility in those areas helps with the stretch reflex and provides a more powerful technique.
Skiing
