I should start on a master list of facts for everyone to quick nav on tumblr haha but I love your enthusiasm for the cast! Let's get cracking on Q2!

Languages/Background

I was also waiting for this kind of question because I thought about it-- a lot, way too much, in fact lmao. I won't go too in depth about each of their backgrounds, especially since some of it is heavily intertwined with their stories, but I'm happy to indulge the basics!

So down the entire cast, we got:

Percy - Japanese (1st Gen); he's fluent in Japanese and it is his first language but he definitely uses English the most nowadays. He only ever speaks his native tongue when he's at home. He also knows a bit of Hawaiian Pidgin. It's what he picked up from Elio when they came to know each other in high school.

Elio - Hawaiian (Dad)/Thai (Mom); English is his first language but his family makes sure to teach him Hawaiian, Hawaiian Pidgin, and Thai. He's conversational with the first two, especially since that's how his grandparents on his dad's side would choose to communicate with. However, since he doesn't get to visit his relatives in Thailand often, Thai is definitely the less practiced of the bunch. At this point, he can somewhat hold a conversation but it's more like-- he understands the language better than he can speak it.

Jamie - Swedish; Swedish is his first language but he is the biggest polyglot on the team, and I mean big. He's fluent in English and most, if not all, European languages (German, French, Italian- you name it, he can probably speak it). Korean is something he recently picked up, though- just so he won't have to wait for translations for the manhwas he likes lol. Learning languages is easy to him and if he's motivated enough he could be conversational in a couple of months.

Deja - Haitian; English is her first language but she's conversational in Haitian Creole. She only speaks it if she's with family, especially her oldest and more distant relatives, or when exasperated. Deja isn't really in the business of flexing her second tongue since it's not something people immediately close to her use a lot.

Cameron - Nicaraguan (2nd Gen); English is also their first language but they dip into Spanish with their family, especially their grandparents. In the KF world, I believe you wouldn't catch this unless you're fluent in Spanish, but Cameron would speak with Nicaraguan phonology so some of their pronunciations might be weighted with 's' sounds.

Reynah - Filipina (1st Gen); English is her second language with Tagalog as her first. However, after being in the states for so long she's not as fluent in it. It's the same case as Elio and most children who migrate at a young age- Reynah understands better than she can speak. That being said, her accent surprisingly lingers. You hear it when she's angry or speaking fast, and you hear it at the end of her sentences or at a break- that short 'ah' sound Filipinos speak with.

And that's all of them! Though it's probably too redundant for me to note, everyone doesn't have an accent except for Reynah and Jamie. Jamie keeps his Swedish accent even though he's fluent because it's too much effort to use an American accent lol

Hobbies (Deja and Cam)

Aha yeah, gotta sneak in anime references when I can and I'm glad you like Cameron too! They're very endearing to me ^^ But okay bestie hobbies! Def gotta know this since MC's best friends with them. So to start--

Deja

Deja's got a handful of hobbies. Does she have time for all of them? No, but she's got them! And they're mostly to help her unwind. For games, she tends to like the ones that relies on strategies and skill. Platformers are her go-to's as well as party games. She's not competitive in the way Elio is but she'd be damned if anyone took her spot at the top of the leaderboard.

Besides video games, she likes to tend to plants and players can see that their shared apartment is littered with them. If she miraculously got more free time, then she'll pick up a knitting/crocheting project.

However, her favorite thing to do in her pastime are her nails! At the apartment, her and MC would indulge in movie nights/marathons so that she could paint and dry her nails during the duration of the showing. The last thing you'd catch her with is a broken or chipped edge.

Cam

As you peeped, Cameron watches anime! They only watch though- they like the action compared to reading. They've been on the grind for a while so you can consider them a veteran haha. Their favorite genres to watch are Slice of Life's, Sports, Shoujos, and Dramas and Thrillers. I know, I know, that's sort of weird jump from their other favorites lol but they like being swept up into the story line like Percy. So if they start crying about a fictional relationship or jumping on the couch because of a murder mystery- then it's safe to say they're enjoying the show.

Other than that, Cameron really likes art! In fact, it could've very well had been something they majored in! They're that good. But alas, they decided on a pre-law track so painting and drawing remains as a past time.

And of course, who can forget music. They only play one instrument and it's not often, but they love listening to it- especially Kpop. If you look through their car, you might find a photo card or two tucked away somewhere. That, and their albums lying next to their seat. (I'm not supposed to be referencing actual bands but Cameron has slipped into the diamond life iykyk)

Past Relationships

Oh, first love is a good guess! But out of the entire cast, half of them have been in a serious relationship before and that is Percy, Deja, and Reynah. Everyone else either had crushes or went on a couple of dates but never went official with anyone.

I won't go into the specifics for either Percy or Reynah, but since Deja's your roommate and best friend-- conversations about her love life would have cropped up before the start of the game. So at the very least I can say that she's dated a couple of guys during her high school and freshmen college year.

She broke up with all of them pretty quick though haha I wouldn't say she was wasting her time with them- she doesn't date for the sake of it like some might. So every relationship could've been something- but she's got zero tolerance for cheaters or massive fuck ups so they ended up being nothing. C'est la vie

Bloom. I'm plugging it because it's the first Matsuhana retrospective no comfort piece I wrote (that comforted me as I wrote it tbh), it's basically my firstborn on ao3 as well. I feel about it deeply simply because I also wrote this at a very memorable time in my life. I channeled a lot of shit into that thing, hence my unlimited overprotectiveness and fondness for it.

#2 - Meeting!!

This is a Haikyuu setting !!

Location : Tokyo Metropolitan Apartment

3rd Person POV

The female walks through the silent pavement of Tokyo, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, it was a beautiful sight to see.

The girl was nervous, very nervous. That's how she was; Afraid to meet new people, especially without her friends to guide her through the process of introducing herself or striking up conversations.

One hand was holding the case of her electric guitar, and the other carrying the amplifier and wires. At the current thought, that was more important to her rather than her other items. Once she meets this Hoshiumi Korai, she will ask her friends, Koushi and Shoyo to help her out with her luggage and bags.

How would they react if they found out I played the guitar? She thought. What if they criticize me for playing the guitar? What if he files a noise complaint and I get myself kicked out of the apartment? I'll probably live with Koushi and Sho if that'll be the case...

Negative thoughts roam around her mind, as she finally arrived at the apartment complex, she let out an exhale. Stepping into the grounds of the apartment, she saw how beautiful the apartment complex truly was, cherry blossom surrounding the building, a large Bonsai Tree can be seen inside of the building, it was in the middle. The automatic sliding doors open, and she walks to the receptionist. They both talk about the room she'll be in, and the receptionist handed her the card for the room.

Y/n was also informed that her roommate would already be there just waiting for her. She struggled to grab the card with how big and heavy the things she has, however she placed the amplifier, wires, and the case of her electric guitar down, and grabbed the card from the receptionist, thanking them as she does so. She places the card inside the pocket of her electric guitar's case, and grabs both the amplifier and wires, and the guitar all together, and walks to the elevator. Her room was on the 5th floor, and so she pressed the button number 5. She waited in the elevator, watching the numbers on top change from G, to 1,2,3,4, then 5th floor. The doors opened with a ding, and she walked out. She had to admit, carrying the amplifier was really heavy, so she had to fix her grip occasionally.

Room 579.

That matched the card, she carefully placed the amplifier and wires down, and carefully reached for the card that was in the guitar's case. She takes the card out, places it on the pad that was above the handle, it made a beep sound, indicating she was welcome to come in. She leaned her foot on the door, and grabbed the amplifier and wires and the guitar all together, and gently pushed the door with her right shoulder.

"Is anyone home..?" She says, her voice echoing through the rooms, then footsteps can be heard, "Oh! Hello." Probably a guy that is possibly around 5'7, has platinum white hair, and an interesting eye shape. His eyes were a pastel yellow, too. "Hello.. You're Hoshiumi Korai, I take?" The female says as she places the amplifier down beside her legs together with the guitar. "Yup, that's me. Also pwede ka mag tagalog, no pressure, I can understand tagalog well." He says with a nod, "Oh? Weh ba? Okay, that makes me comfortable naman." She says with a sigh of relief, "I'm Y/n L/n" "Y/n L/n." They both say in sync, "Don't worry, nabasa ko yung information na binigay ng receptionist." He says with a smile, "Anyhow, kailangan mo tulong? That.. Box thing seems heavy." He offered, "..amplifier." She says, but nods in the end, "Yeah, kailangan ko tulong actually.. Ang sakit na ng kamay ko." She says with an awkward chuckle, Hoshiumi nods, and grabs the amplifier that was beside her leg, "Anyways naka-pili nako ng room ko, and there's 2 bedrooms here, so dito ko nalang ilalagay." He said as he opened a plain white door, and placed the amplifier in the far left corner. "Yeah! Okay nayan, thank you." She says, Hoshiumi nods and leaves the room for the girl to be alone and fix things. There was a bed in the middle of the room, the ground was a rug, it was soft to the feet. The girl places down the case of her guitar beside the amplifier, and lays down on the bed.

-Direct messaging is really scary for me, but I do welcome replies (finally, they have sideblog replying aahh) and anon asks. Being tagged in reblog games and fanfic writing is also cool with me!

-I've tried having a queue multiple times (read: it didn't work out. I decided to just embrace my spontaneous bursts of energy.) Sorry if you're expecting something scheduled/timely responses to interactions, but they just happen when they happen and/or if I remember to respond 😭😭I really don't mean to come across as cold/unfriendly.

Kiyoko: Thanks. Sawamura the submission deadline for the Monthly Volleyball survey is soon. What should we do about this section? D: Oh, was there a section we didnt fill in? K: Look, this one here... S:as it the question of whether youre a cat person or an okapi person? A: What... do you have to pick one of those?

K: The section asking for you teams 'catch phrase' D: Oh! Thats right! Sorry about that.... a catch phrase huh....What should we do...? S: "In this world, its only cats, okapi...and you.Which would you live with?" A:If that were the case then we'd all live together! Why do we have to chose one? I'd feel sorry for them...but based on species id be the one left out... S:But okapi are herbivores...making the cat's terrifying, wouldn't it? It would definitely choose you Asahi! A:..you think so? Do you think I'd be able to live up to the okapi's expectations? S: Keep yourself together!!! You're the only thing the okapi can rely on! D: But if theres only three of you, wouldn't it be an 'eat or be eaten' situation? S: Here comes the wildy realistic Daichi! Wild Daichi are you in the savannah!?! D: I am! A: Huh....well then I'd rather be eaten...

S: Look what you've done, now you made Asahi imagine it and hes all depressed. D: Well, if it came down to me and Kintaro* and only one could live. I'd let him eat me and live on. A: I see...just the two of you... that would be tough.... S: Daichi you seem like youd be pretty filling!! Depending on how you were preserved you could provide meals for two weeks. D: Please avoid placing in direct sunlight and keep in a freezer. K: How about preserving him in salt? A: We dont need to go into the details of preserving!I'll end up imagining it! Ah, how is Kintarou? D: He's doing great! Recently he went and got a shot and he...wait not this- the catch phrase!

S: Hmmm.... D: How about "A highly offensive team"? S:Hmm.... thats so...normal. D: Then what do you suggest? S: Something that scream more... 'now'! "We're aiming for a sustainable and diverse team"! D:I cant agree to something like that. A:..."Compliance." S: "Initiative"! A:"Risque". S: "On time"! K: "Evidence".

D: This isnt an 'all the katakana you know'performance. A: "Commit". Suga/D: ...! K: Are we decided then? Suga/D: "Commit"... D: Wait a second! That's no good! It turning into some kind of commercial!Plus we're practicing read blocking rather than commit blocking at the moment. S: "You read block then commit!" A: That's such a Datekou catch phrase... S: Ughh then let's go with this! "Both heart and soul THROBBING! ASAHI!" D: You always give up so easily... A: Wait...the catchphrase is for the team... D: They're not even together on this one...

K: Azumane, you weigh 76kg. A: Huh...I do. K: "Okapi's weigh 200kg so 300kilograms (all up)". S: "Both hearth and soul are THROBBING! OKAPI!!" K: Alright, it's decided. D: Stop right there. Shimizu you need to stop that. You get carried away with everything with a straight face, it's terrifying sometimes. S: Huh what's with that! I'm confident in my ability to get carried away! D: Don't compete with it! Are you Hinata and Kageyama!?

um. a pathetically small amount LOL native/fluent in english, semi-fluent in french (took it for 9 yrs! go canada or whatever. been a while since ive spoke it properly tho) and im trying to learn korean and tagalog. i also know some spanish but not a ton... ive considered learning that one properly since i do alr know a lot of french tho

oh this is a hard one... ahwwgmm honestly........ my aunt (per my request) bought me the first volume of companion comics for young justice animated show 2012 my Beloved because i literally could not find it in any bookstore i went to and . its one of my favourite shows of all time so i really wanted a physical copy of the comics. i realize it was per my request but i am So insane about young justice that the sheer Joy was absolutely still worth it being a notable gift
