speaking my truth on npmd because im thinking about this alot. i think the reason it falls flatter than tgwdlm and bf as a musical is that tgwdlm and bf have a running theme — want.
(whole thing undercut)
the cast of tgwdlm want human connection - charlotte wants sam to love her, bill wants alice to love him, mr davidson wants his wife to choke him while he jerks off etc etc, and eventually paul goes from 'i want what anyone wants, money, kids, a partner maybe idk' to - to put it simply - wanting emma (putting it very simply, if i went into detail this post would go off the rails). this switch is what makes him vulnerable to the hive and this want to live and to survive and to be happy with emma is satiated by pokey by giving him the connection he craves via hivemind, this is how it works for everyone. they want to be happy, pokey makes them happy by removing any need to want anything in the first place.
similarly, in bf, the adults of hatchetfield are still miserable and they want to be happy, they have this void within them that they feel they need to fill with products and consumerism. if they buy this stupid fucking doll their kids will love them, they will be happy, etc etc. and this want to be happy is similarly satiated by wiggly via the cult - they have something to worship, or - in lindas case - people who worship them. they have purpose, or at least they think they do, but whether their problems have actually been solved or not - they are still content.
but in npmd, this is less solid. theres that bit where they have to sacrifice what they want the most, but this is near the end. its kind of all over the place, and this wobbliness(?) is sort of just emphasised by the fact that there is no specific lord in black, its all of them. now i loved the summoning when i first watched it because im obviously a huge hatchetfield fan so i like. know who these characters are but as ive seen others say, alot of npmd does rely on knowing hatchetfield lore - understanding injokes. and in hindsight it just... isnt great for the cohesion of the plot.
tgwdlm and bf both have specific themes, specific lords in black, they have subplots but they have a solid throughline that is easier to follow. to me, npmd feels like its all over the place and it just feels kind of...mid for lack of a better word.
i think there were some moments that were just kind jarring? i guess? like if i loved you coming directly after ruths death was really strange, tonally. i wish they spent more time on ruths death tbh she deserved better. richie got two songs and an opening scene. anyways i digress- i feel like whenever i think about it im always like. i just wanted More. which is weird cuz its already like 2 hours long but idk. IDK!!! if i loved definitely felt unnecessary to me- like just conflict out of nowhere. i would have liked more build up to it. maybe im just salty that it took up stagetime that could have been used to grieve ruth but. sorry for the random if i loved you slander i think my point here is that some moments and some subplots felt more tropey, injokey or like fanservice??but not in a sexual way?? - is that the right word to use idk - than actual compelling plot moments. tgwdlm is an incredible work of theatre and uses subversions of tropes to communicate a great story, bf is a detailed criticism of american consumerism and how capitalistic societies force people to rely on products to make their lives better, npmd is. high school drama with ghosts. it just doesnt hit as hard on its own.
i dont want to be one of those "im a better writer, and THIS is how i would have done it!!!! im going to fix this!!!" people so im not going to do that but i think something i would have liked to see was focus on just one lord in black, probably nibbly because i feel like he fits the most and has the least preexisting story. i mean for gods sake, why does wiggly have the most speech time out of all the lords in black again!!! he already has an entire musical about him!!! greedy bitch- well i guess thats kind of his thing. i think i just want to see more of nibbly tbh, he has one nmt story and he only shows up at the very end. anyways that was kind of a side rant sorry gang. there isnt a problem with having a story featuring all the lords in black, but i think it just doesnt quite work in npmd for like structural reasons as well as plot cohesion.
i did enjoy npmd, im not pretending i didnt, but narratively it is the weakest hatchetfield musical and i just wanted to put my finger on what it is specifically. please dont take this as like hate or slander, i am a huge starkid fan, but i think it is important to consume media critically.
also i am not a professional i am a teenage drama and english lit student who likes media analysis and narrative design so just. take everything i say with a grain of salt :)
if you read all this, thankyou and if you disagree please lmk what you think(civilly.i do not want discourse in my notes)!! i could be hugely wrong about this and just need to think more about npmd and id love to see others' analyses!

God GOD okay okay okay okay okay I'm having thoughts I'm having FEELINGS im having a Moment SO
I waanna talk about Ten and Donna (shocker I know) but SPECIFCALLY I wanna talk about like. Them and being besties and soulmatism and red string of fates and what not. Also this post is long as rambly as hell so I'm putting it under a readmore for my non-tendonna girlies <3
So like. The Runaway Bride really does establish them as future besties so so well and some of it is the writing but I do think that some of it is that Catherine Tate and David Tennant, by all available accounts, ALSO immediately got on like a house on fire. Like genuinely i know Acting TM is a thing but I think them getting on is part of why their on screen chemistry is SO electric and dazzling to the point where Donna went from a one off one episode character to *checks notes* a character that came back TWICE and also fundamentally changed the structure and DNA of Doctor Who as a whole so. You know. Pretty impressive. Plus Donna gets to have her first adventure with The Doctor as their absolute worst: Ten is grieving from a FRESH wound of losing Rose, he's incredibly cruel and incredibly cold and straight up murders the Racknoss without a flinch or hint of remorse, and even before that he accidentally kidnaps her and then insults her as someone to dismiss. That's not to say that she doesn't also see The Doctor at their brightest: he ends up treating her with incredible kindness, and he's dazzling and brilliant and cares so much and shows her the creation of the earth itself to provide comfort. However it IS to say that because of the nature of his first interaction with Donna he CAN'T put up a facade she already knows the truth!! She is walking into their dynamic with completely open eyes and at first it fucking scares her! She doesn't dislike him in fact they already are friends after less than a day but
Then partners in crime happens. And she's realized okay no actually I CAN take the bad with the good and I WANT to participate in all of it and I DO want this friendship. The Red Strings of Fate (or maybe the TARDIS being like lmaoo you need this girlie <3) bring them back together and they are Officially Tethered from that point on which is so so so delicious. It's also so so so delicious that Ten's still at an incredibly low point and she's still going into this friendship without any ruses in place. Like oh shit yeah they are Bound together even if they did separate now they would almost certainly find each other again.
AND THEN AND THEN!!! We've already established The Doctor and Donna as fast best friends but holllllyyyy shit I think Fires of Pompeii is what establishes them as forever Soulmates. I meant canonically the ending of Fires of Pompeii where she has him save the family fundamentally changed The Doctor for the rest of their lives and gave them a guiding moral compass long after she wasn't there so yeah that's pretty fuckin soulmates of them. But I actually think them as a concept of two people sharing one soul (for the better!!) happens earlier in the episode. The exact moment in fact is THIS ONE:
Tumblr media
The Doctor has to make a choice. There are no good options: both are mass destruction and death. And it's SUCH a Doctor choice to have to make: actively destroy Pompeii and everyone in it, or allow the entire world to be destroyed. Not only that but it will likely kill both him and Donna as well. It's a mix of self sacrifice and other sacrifice to save the world and it's a horrific situation to be in.
It is a narrative that parallels the choice he made in the Time War. It is an archetypical Burden of the Doctor.
And then she looks into his eyes, sees his fear and hesitation and remorse and guilt, and wordlessly puts her hands on his. They push the lever to destroy Pompeii together. And it becomes the burden of the DoctorDonna.

No Words
God damn, God DAMN, I finally had a chance to sit down and watch Part 3 of the Final Season of “Attack on Titan”, and I really just have no words.  I’m just completely blown away.  MAPPA has done such an indescribably stellar job on every part of this last arc of maybe the greatest story ever written in manga form, and they do not disappoint here.  The gravitas of this hour long episode, including the naked brutality of the opening showing us the true horror of the Rumbling, and Eren’s own monstrosity, was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever had the true privilege to see in animation.  This isn’t a children’s show, as the manga itself was never a children’s story.  This is one of the most intensely relevant and truthful depictions I’ve ever seen of not only the horrors of war and violence, but the tragedy of the human condition.  They not only left Isayama’s panels uncensored here, but even added scenes which drove home the true brutality and tragedy of what Eren was doing.  Seriously, that entire opening sequence left me breathless.  I was just sitting here, stunned, while watching it. Again, this story is such an unvarnished and sincere look at the tragedy of war and the human capacity for violence, and really, in many ways, the inescapability of that nature within us.  I’ve always applauded Isayama for his commitment to that tragedy, and not giving in to the temptation of a happy ending in which all is well and right with the world, in which Eren is able to be redeemed, in which the cycle of violence is miraculously stopped.  Like Erwin once said, as long as there is more than one person, there will always be war.  And this episode by MAPPA captured that deeply dark, ugly and somber reality with such immensity and truth. It’s one of the greatest pieces of cinema I’ve ever seen. That really isn’t hyperbole.  I had tears in my eyes at several points watching this episode.  The cinematic quality and standard of MAPPA’s work remains as first rate as ever.
Hange’s moment, man... Again, I’m left speechless.  Hange really was the hero of this episode.  Their sacrifice, and the way it was rendered here by MAPPA, again, the brutality of it (and I know I keep using that word, but I really can’t find any other), watching them take down Colossal Titan after Colossal Titan, before finally succumbing to the heat, the way they caught on fire, and yet even still, as they were burning alive, they continued to fight and managed to take out one last Titan... Ah, it’s got me all fucked up just thinking about it.  They truly gave their all in the end to save humanity.
And their farewell with Levi, just... oof, man.  Hange really was Levi’s last, remaining friend from the old days, and he has to watch them go, and there’s nothing he can do to save them, nothing he can do to help.  Another burden on his shoulders, another sense of his immense strength failing to matter.  And again, I have to commend MAPPA here, and their attention to detail.  Levi’s difficulty in even squeezing the trigger of his ODM gear drove home just how WEAK Levi still is at this point in the story.  For all the people that try to criticize him for not being able to do more, for not being enough of a force in the final battle, I think this one, small scene of his physical frailty should shut all those people up.  Because it makes crystal clear to the audience just how physically hurt Levi is, how he’s joining his comrades through nothing but sheer will alone.  His difficulty in performing a physical task which, through this ENTIRE series, Levi was more adept at, more capable of, more powerful in, than any other character, and yet, his hands shake here, and he has to grit his teeth and struggle to accomplish it, it proves Levi’s dedication and determination, even through his own deep impairment.  He’s in no shape to be fighting, and yet he does.  He has to, and he does.  That, like Hange, is the choice of a hero.
The same to all the cast.  Armin, Mikasa, Reiner, Jean, Connie, Pieck, and even Annie, eventually.
I think MAPPA did an incredible job of conveying the true hopelessness of this situation.  The absolutely minuscule chances of success.  And yet here we are, our hero’s arriving to do what they can, regardless of the odds.
And then there’s Eren.  Eren, who I will always maintain is one of the most compelling and tragic character’s I’ve ever seen.  While we see his undoubted and terrifying monstrosity on full display, and we understand truly, without question, that he has become the villain of this story, we also see in the flashback to his time in Marley, and his interaction with Ramzi, Eren’s humanity, his remorse, his self-loathing, and his regret.  And it’s that humanity we see in Eren, that genuine horror at what he knows he’s going to do, that makes his final actions all the more horrific and unforgivable.  Because he IS human.  He isn’t a monster.  He’s a human being.  And he chooses to do this.  He chooses to, because he WANTS to, just like he admits tearfully and with genuine remorse to Ramzi.  Is there anything more heartbreaking than that?  Eren’s betrayal of humanities hope is so impactful and so hard to accept because of that humanity.  Because we learned to love and care for and root for him over the entire course of this long journey, only to see him fail so utterly.  My heart bleeds for Eren, even as I know he’s become an unredeemable monster.
My hat’s off to MAPPA, man.  I’m just floored by this first part of “Attack on Titan’s” conclusion.  I couldn’t be more impressed, or more satisfied with the seriousness with which this very serious story is treated here.  This is art, truly.  This is a story which speaks with total sincerity to the human condition.  And MAPPA has brought it so spectacularly to life.  Thank you MAPPA, and most of all, thank you Hajime Isayama for writing this incredible tale of human will, determination, dreams, triumph, tragedy, violence, cruelty, hate, fear, love, friendship and hope.
I’m gonna’ stop now before I make myself cry.
I don’t think there’s ever going to be another manga or anime that hits harder or means more than “Attack on Titan”.  It’s truly a masterpiece, and in a class all it’s own.

Way to love
Tumblr media
Summary: There are ways to love apparently, because you and Shalnark undoubtedly have different concepts of love despite having known each other for exactly one year.
Pairing: Shalnark X F.Reader
Warnings: Kidnapped reader, violent acts, toxic relationship and beginnings of stockholm syndrome
Author’s note: I always mention it in all my writings in English, but better safe than sorry, English is not my native language so it is very likely to find many mistakes and also that I know practically nothing about writing “X character and Y / n”
Sites: AO3
Tumblr media
Love is horribly insufferable, a rung adrift, with no path or predetermined place to get to, that's probably its magic.
But... What is love really? Your way of seeing it was so pure and solemn, like in novels or books available to anyone. For you it was a symbol of sacrifice, joy and dedication, supporting and wishing the best for your loved one. It's supposed to make you feel good, cause great joy at every moment, however...
The man behind you perhaps did not understand, or he had another way of seeing love that you were unable to understand, because you doubted that your concept was wrong, you could not be wrong.
His love did not make you feel good, it hurt you deeply, when you looked at him, you only felt hate, contempt and anguish, there was no kind of joy.
"I knew the dress would suit you" he flattered, leaning on your shoulder
"I guess...” You answered discouraged.
"I thought going out to eat would cheer you up a lot"
“here is not much difference between eating outside and inside if I am with you”
“Always so kind”
You looked at Shalnark in silence while he fixed his hair, he had an appearance that was far from his true self, the truth is, you wouldn't believe the entire list of his crimes if it weren't for the fact that you had known him for exactly one year.
It is curious that the way of loving an "angel" was so sinister, like his way of acting and thinking, at least for someone for you, it was simply a mystery.
"Aren't you bored of me yet?"
"Bore of you?"
“I don't feel any kind of love for you, why do you keep me with you?”
"Who said I need someone to love me? I just need someone to love”
You were dismayed by his response, love doesn't make sense if it insn´t reciprocated, it's supposed to be that way.
You took a deep breath when Shalnark's hand took your neck from behind, panic invaded you, however the grip did not allow you to turn to look at him, they only connected glances through the mirror, even so, his turquoise eyes were penetrating, as if they were looking at each other, face to face.
“I will not deny that the fact that you love me would make me immensely happy, but being able to love you without any restrictions is better than anything, when you are close to me, I feel so immensely happy, just having you by my side makes my life makes sense” He argued in your ear
"It's a sad life" You denied trying to get away from him
"Sad... I don't think so... I feel so much peace now, having you here, with me, submitted to me, without the possibility that you can turn to someone else, it's magical" He spoke smilingly
Your blood ran cold as Shalnark's hand applied force to your neck, your breath quickening with fear, like an animal, a small prey in the jaws of his predator.
“It's desperate... Don't you think?” He whispered mockingly to continue increasing his pressure on your neck “The heart beating painfully, the body trembling, feeling short of breath... God, it's truly horrible”
“What the fuck?” You asked with a weak voice, but without any intention of begging for your life, your pride had more power than you, you preferred to die rather than beg him, since you did not understand the direction of the conversation
"When I'm away from you, I feel so much worse than this" Not being able to love you and have you for me is ridiculous, from the moment I saw you, I stopped knowing the life you weren't in, I need you as much as you need the air right now, I couldn't get bored of someone I can't have enough" He replied in a sickly sweet tone “When I'm not with you it's like I die slowly, although not from lack of air, but it's much more painful”
The blond let go of your neck after finishing answering you and you began to cough, recovering your breath little by little, to then manage to get away from him a bit, holding your neck in disbelief and scared.
"Now do you understand a little of how I feel when we're apart?" Shalnark asked, holding your chin by force and forcing you to look at him.
You moved away to stop looking at him and ran to the bathroom to get away from him.
As you rinsed your face, it dawned on you that apparently being so close to suffocation was helpful in understanding Shalnark's twisted way of loving.
He does not believe in the sacrifice or purity of love, he lives on the sick and possessive side, he does not need to be loved, he can live only knowing that his beloved is his in any aspect, he delights in the fear and dependence that only love generates the fear of loss, the need to survive and the joy of taking everything without having to lose anything.
"I forgot something, Y/n" Shalnark added after knocking on the bathroom door.
You remained silent, leaning against the door, pressing your forehead against the wood and closing your eyes tightly.
“It really won't take me long to make you love me, now this is your world, you don't have anyone else, just me, you're human and you'll always want to survive, you also need me like air, even if you don't want to admit it”
Again you were silent, Shalnark smiled, if you didn't contradict him, you literally agreed with him, which was really true, you didn't say anything, you just tried not to think about the times when a smile adorned your face when you saw Shalnark after arriving for several days of travel or how pleasant his affection could be from time to time, you finally turned to the mirror embarrassed to see your face flushed.

Lord Death: Mainly the concept that Dynastes is Death's brother. I see a TON of DTK twins, but no Death siblings. Fuck you canon lore, I will give him a brother in my universe. While Death is order of guidance, not forcing his madness on humans, Dynastes is the opposite, he represents order that rules humans to balance Death out. I want to point out that Dynastes does NOT hate humans, but he thinks the shinigami should be telling them what to do.
Daybreaker: While Death has grey morals (he is a god and not human after all), Dynastes is inspired by a swap AU I have, where Death is the main villian. Sorta an idea of switching some things out, as in Dynastes would not take shit from people shittalking the DMWA if it was his school. Like Daybreaker is an AU where Celestia turns bad, seeing herself as superior and the only ruler. Dynastes' relationship with Death is also strained, seeing himself only as the better ruler, calling Death too soft and saying Kid, who acts like a human is unfit to take Death's place.
Akainu: Similar to Daybreaker, Akainu is ruthless and takes no shit. Desertion or failing in the duty of a Marine is worthy of death to Akainu, like to Dynastes, someone betraying the DMWA or shinigami laws should also be punished by death. Like Akainu's hatred for criminals and anyone opposing the government, Dynastes hatred is for rule breakers, mainly kishin eggs/bad souls and witches. Absolute Justice is to sacrifice anything to defeat what is defined as "evil", as for Dynastes it is what defies his rules.
Roy Mustang: I love the way Roy fights, especially when he almost burns Envy to death. Dynastes, when not fighting physical, can also snip to create explosion like fires with enourmous force. Like Roy, his powers do not work the best in water or wet terrain.
Tesoro: I mainly got the idea for a Death brother when watching Film GOLD, Dynastes has a very similar attitude, very confident of himself, but being very scary when actually angered.
Reshiram: Reshiram represents truth (Dynastes believes humans should be under the shinigamis control), while Death is more like wishful behavior (Zekrom) as he believes in humans ruling. It is said Reshiram can change the climate with its tail, Dynastes could...also burn the entire earth with full powers activated.
Also what Reshiram, Daybreaker, Roy and Akainu (somewhat) have in common: Fire related powers. I didn't just want him to be a "white Death", so I figured why he could be brightly white...sooo his true form, like Death's cloak is flames. His temperature can range to warm, touchable fire to all evaporating flames. Usually I prefer water or ice related powers, but I liked the idea, as Asura is able to use black fire as an ability. Fire is what all living beings fear, it can destroy or create, being full of energy. All characters have very destructive powers, Dynastes does too.
Other mentions
Disney Hades: I also would've added, because Dynastes' hair can also become flames when he's angry.
Doflamingo: Dynastes' voice claim, he is very charismatic and ruthless.
Zuko (Avatar): While Dynastes' fighting style with fire is ususally very destructive, he also knows fire can bring warmth and comfort. Like Zuko when he learns bending shouldn't be done with wrath, Dynastes can use his fire in non-destructive ways too, such as removing burn scars from living beings.

I remember getting into a near-argument w my father because I pointed out that Superman was a Moses allegory, and he was INSISTENT that it was Jesus... and like. yeah there are similarities. because Jesus was also a Moses allegory. the character was literally created by Jews for Jewish reasons it's insane that people think he HAS to REALLY be jesus
I mean I don't know that Jesus was a Moses allegory, but let's put that aside. Superman is NOT a Jesus allegory, specifically, because he is not a God. That's the problem with Snyder's "interpretation" of Superman in the first place - he forgets that Clark is just as important as Kal-El. He's a man of the people, a champion of justice and truth, a journalist - actually, can we talk for a sec about how important it is that he's a journalist? Comics love journalists, they have such a pro-journalist agenda. In superhero comics, journalists are the people who bring truth to light, who keep superheros honest, who help them stay on the right path and do good. J Jonah Jameson reminds Spiderman that he has responsibility to do good and that he needs to be held accountable if he does something wrong; Ben Urich uncovers Daredevil's identity but still helps him and is an all around good person; Lois Lane pursues the truth at all costs, helps Superman because she believes in him even before she knows his identity. Clark is a journalist because it's a good excuse to be first on the scene, to hear about things as they happen, but also because he is a representative of truth and justice and that's what journalists stand for in comic books.
Okay, sorry for the tangent, but like... The whole point is that Clark is as important as Kal-El is. He's a good person. I just yesterday reblogged this panel:
Tumblr media
"He could be anyone... and he chooses to be kind." That's the entire goddamn point. Jesus sacrifices himself and fucks off. He's there to teach (and destroy the sacrifices being sold in front of the Temple for no reason except to ruin it for everyone else, but I digress). He copies some shit from Elijah and then dies and, again, once he comes back to life he just fucks off. Superman would never, ever do that. He wouldn't sacrifice himself needlessly - how would he be able to help people? He wouldn't fuck off - why would he? He has human connections, Lois and Jonathan and Kon (sort of) and his parents and Jimmy and so many others. He cooperates with the justice league as an equal. If you're viewing him as detached from humanity, as something to be worshipped... Well, you'd be wrong. And it's exhausting to see happen in adaptation time and time again.

Griffith the overqualified Man-child.
The fact that he considered Guts a possession, this character is a vindictive, egotist control-freak that willingly fucked his entire group twice.
Tumblr media
chp355
Now, in context he was reluctant to commit to the sacrifice, & was remorseful for all the people that died for his dream (1997 version anyway). The God Hand had to big up his ego first, manipulate him and convince him to do it-- But the fact that his first order of business as Femto was to r*pe the one person on the planet who admired him the most & did absolutely no wrong to him. Just to hurt Guts.
YET AGAIN, he's using people as a means to get what he wants. Casca is just a thing for him to use.
And it's ironic, all those years with Casca at his side: Nothing. She finally moves on to someone who sees, respects and acknowledges her as both a warrior & a woman.
NOW Griffith feels some type of way, when he did nothing but ignore her. And he's too intelligent for me to believe he didn't know how she felt, he just kept her on a leash as a means of control and when both Guts & Casca found purpose & happiness WITHOUT his sorry ass as the center of attention, he felt he had a score to settle for that.
Tumblr media
chp356.1
Especially in his weakened state where he definitely felt his ego get trampled on.
All because he wasn't the main character anymore, all because Guts outgrew him, and so did Casca.
I already knew the entire reason he went to Charlotte's room was to vindicate himself by feeling like he had control over someone, ANYONE, he had to dominate a teenager just to get the taste of Guts' W out his mouth.
But the fact that he admitted it when he was in his cell, verbally admitted his not having control over Guts is his fucking damage, that his issue was that Guts surpassed him as a man, Griffith is just pathetic.
He kept Guts around for his strength, he envied Guts because the man didn't need a Band to achieve his dream, and Griffith couldn't stop him from walking away vs Griffith who wouldn't have accomplished anything if it weren't for the people around him that carried him to every success he achieved THROUGH the team.
Now he's basically an Anti-Christ figure uniting the world under a united banner/Government-- All to maintain his childish dream of having his castle.  And for what, and the cost of so many good men, even Corkus' annoying ass didn't deserve that shit, and I mean that. Gaston, Pippin, Judeau, the goddamn horses, fucking hell.
Both Charlotte & Casca knew the truth, Griffith is a child. They meant it as an endearing trait, but that alone is his entire problem. He's a fucking child.
Guts deserves to wear his ass down to a bloody pulp (How? WHATEVER Skull Knight did to obtain his power. Keep in mind this mind outpaced VOID/Femto/Zod/ the entire God Hand didn't stop that man during the Eclipse. SkullKnight is a problem. So whatever he did that's what Guts needs to do), Casca deserves the kill-shot. Period.
If anything less happens, if ever, that story will be ruined forever. Because I can't imagine anything more appropriate. Maybe Guts becoming an Apostle? But either way, Casca need to get that final blow, I don't give a fuck.
All that time as a aloof-ding bat was unacceptable, absolutely hate that turn for her character. Took way too damn long to get her back on track.
(Recommended anime btw, it's amazing. I usually loath 20 count episodes, but the pacing is so good in this one.)
Tumblr media
She deserves the final attack. End as it began, as Griffith told her in the very beginning, she takes up her sword and makes the call.

Okay, last one, I promise - and no need to answer ANY of these, obviously. I'm just in the mood to be annoying today. 🙈💕
Top 5 KinnPorsche scenes - WITH and WITHOUT VP (because I think the latter would be really interesting) 👀
BLESS YOU FOR THAT, YOU KNOW ME TOO WELL (and you are not annoying AT ALL 💕💕💕)
Top 5 VP scenes
Ep 12 hedgehog funeral + sex scene
I meeeeean. I mean. I mean!!!!!!! When is a monster not a monster? When you see him utterly broken sobbing over his dead pet and your catastrophic empathy instinct kicks in because you see yourself in him and him in you and you KNOW this will backfire but need NEED to go back anyway and it NEEDS to be your choice and it KEEPS being your choice and kissing him is your choice and fucking him is your choice and offering up your wrists is your choice and you fucking SMILE because for once you got everything you wanted and for just a minute the whole world falls into its proper place.
Ep 13 break-up scene
My beloved. This is legit one of my favourite scenes in any piece of media, ever. It enraptures me. It's every terrible, beautiful, instinctual decision that they've made together being CRUSHED by the world outside their safehouse/prison/escape/condemnation and exploding in their faces. It is everything to me. It's inevitable. And so necessary even though it hurts like hell.
Ep 13 alleyway scene
THE DRAMA. Vegas with his prince hair pulling his One Move. Pete with the cigarette and the realisation and the gun. They both look so insanely good sorry for being shallow. But GOD. "Don't you want me to disappear?" "Shoot me!" "I don't think you can. And you know why." like ugh UGH it's the PEAK of fucked up romance! Vegas risking it all on Pete feeling the same and not caring if he loses his life on that bet, Pete unable to even speak in response but just breaking down in Vegas's arms because he can't and he knows.
Ep 14 pool scene
Okay now obviously this one is also everything to me. It's... yeah. This scene was to my brain what a magnet is to a VHS tape. I lost the ability to form coherent thoughts for multiple days. I still can't adequately express everything this scene means to me. It's a masterclass in writing and character work and ACTING!!!! Like with anyone else this scene could have failed massively but instead we got CINEMA. My favourite, most unhinged viewing experience of my entire life. Maybe if I loved it less I might be able to talk about it more.
Ep 14 epilogue
THE SOFT EPILOGUE THEY DESERVE. Their lives have beaten them down into the dirt, they've nearly lost their humanity entirely, they barely know how to be people and yet. They find each other. They choose each other. They live for each other. And they get happiness as a reward, and a family they will keep choosing again and again and again.
I could have picked so many other scenes, literally any of their scenes! But 12-14 really is just hit after hit of some of the best television ever created so. holy shit there's a whole other half to this ask OOPS- Top 5 KP scenes (no VP)
Ep 1 Porsche and Chay
Porsche wiping his tears away and hugging his little brother is what sold me on his character and really the entire show.
Ep 5 Porsche breaking down in the bathroom
Talk about a masterclass in acting. Phenomenal.
Ep 6 final scene
All the lead up too. Kinn apologising, Porsche deliberately failing rock paper scissors, Kinn's speech when they escape, Porsche running back to kiss him. GORGEOUS.
Ep 10 warehouse scene
Oh I live for gloves-off Vegas. And the horriblest little man Tawan. Sleeveless Kim. Big's sacrifice.
Ep 14 office scene
I'm being soooo good and not counting this as a VP scene but like. Oh I love it. Namphueng reveal, "you're just as bad as papa was", "the truth that Namphueng is-", Vegas surrounded by a halo of guns, Korn at his most menacing, "I can't keep betraying my feelings", the look between Porsche and Pete, I-. I love it. There's just so much to keep coming back to.

Project Meridian- explanation about Marcus FINALE
This is for the people who want to be in the know of who Marcus is and how he impacted PM without listening to his audios. I made the ultimate sacrifice and I watched his videos a long time ago. I still remember his ass very well.
This a continuation of my first post! I’m here to continue talking about Marcus’s fuckery so that we can all be interested in Project Meridian.
I will not be spoiling anything beyond the Marcus and James confrontation.
Heavy TW! Marcus’s storyline is a bit dark as the Android begins to descend into their obsession. There are discussions of manipulation such as guilt-tripping, dubious consent, non consensual touch, abusive/harmful acts done to the listener, references to exploitation, and objectification in this series. I will be vaguely going over these things.
Project Median is a series done and recorded by Redacted Audio. I highly recommend you guys check it out.
Now, let us continue into the mess that has been made. I’m on my last brain cell and filled with hope.
Fifth Video [Sneaking into your technician lover’s room at night]
•we snuck into his room….that’s it. That’s the fucking video lmao.
This was them in the fucking vents!
“This a very very bad idea, but god it feels good.”
Im also pretty sure it’s heavily implied that they have sexual intercourse.
We also graduated from obsessive Android to Yandere Android…😬
SIXTH VIDEO [A talk with one of your devious owners] 🤭
•Oh??? IS THIS?? JAMES MY HUSBAND?? COME HOME SWEETIE! IM WAITING FOR YOUUU!!
Tumblr media
Ahem, anyways.
I think you guys could watch this video as it does not contain Marcus. So I do recommend watching his video! But I will go over key points.
We’re introduced to James. We are having a meeting with him. He tells us that he does consider us as “someone” and not as “something”. He wants to get to know us better.
People refer to him as one of the suits. But he prefers “project facilitator.”
ETS has acquired this project.
ETS stands for Ecumene Technology Solutions.
James basically vaguely aludes to knowing what’s going on with Marcus and the Android. HE’S SO FUCKING 😭 OH I LOVE HIM! Put him and Porter Solaire in a room.
This is important: “Do you remember the name of the element with the atomic number 76?” “…Osmium! That’s it, thank you. I’ll be sure to remember that.”
“Come to think of it, I swear there was something else. Some kind of riddle, I think? Something about…state of matter.”
OH GET THEM FOR ME JAMES 😭 oh he really is so…
He questions us about our relationship with Marcus.
James basically clocked their tea in this video. I REALLY DO RECOMMEND IT!!
Seventh video [ Your Nervous Technician faces the truth.] [nonconsensual touch to character]
•Marcus is talking to us about his concerns. He asks why we side step everything he says when it comes to everyone’s safety.
He only half-asses his rejections and eventually gives in to us when we continue to pursue him.
He realized that Brian is right.
We tell him about our meeting with James and he asks why we only now just told him. He asks what we talked about and we tell him that we talked about him.
He realizes that the higher ups know everything.
He begins to freak out about this entire situation.
He realizes that the Android does not care anymore, as long as they have him. As long as they have him, they don’t care about anyone or anything else.
The obsession code has erased them of the ability to think for themselves or about anyone else.
He gets an emotional reaction from the Android when he tries to leave their arms.
[Non-Con touch occurs]
Marcus rejects their forceful kisses, but this angers them.
The Android forcefully grabs his arm and makes him confirm his love for them. They eventually let go of him when he tells them that he loves them.
The video ends with Marcus being upset in their arms and knowing that it’s all over. They’re “riding the loop.”
Eighth video [Your owner takes matter into his own hands.] [loss of bodily autonomy]
•We’re almost at the end of Marcus’s storyline! This is a video you can also watch and I recommend you do! Erik, you and your mind….😨
Because what I’m about to reveal to you…when I tell you I almost shat myself at this revelation…
So James meets with us. He asks us how much of our processing power is focused on him, and then asks the difference between now and what it would’ve been like a year ago.
He tells us that we are an inorganic Android but that we’re also a person. That we deserve respect and consideration.
He tells us we were made with a specific purpose in mind. We have a job and so does he.
“You are not doing your job anymore.”
He proceeds to list every illegal thing Marcus and the Android have done. They had isolated backup surveillance that had watched them of every minute…of every day.
He tells us that it’s not fair that we had these feelings forced on us. That’s it’s not love. It is obsession.
“Marcus is not your friend. He’s a lonely man who abused his power over you. Who continued to do so.”
AND HERE IS THE REVELATION AND WHY WE ALL FUCKING HATE MARCUS! FUCK YOU MARCUS!
“He didn’t have to ask permission to delete the obsession code a year ago. He could’ve just done it. You and he both knew that.”
“Didn’t you ever wonder why he didn’t? Because he didn’t want to.”
James isn’t sure if we’re capable of understanding his words.
BUT AND HERE IT IS! BOOM!
“But I do know two words that you will understand.”
“Osmium undone.”
“See? It’s that easy. That’s all Marcus had to do.”
So what happened? Osmium undone is a phrase that will cause a general override on the Android. Meaning, Marcus could have just said those two words, and this all would’ve been over. We would’ve never been obsessed with him if he had just done that, but he didn’t.
James left the obsession code in hopes to redirect the obsession on Project Meridian. He sees now that it’s not an option.
He’s going to remove the obsession code.
Ninth Video [Confronting your Technician] [confrontations] [references to abusive/harmful acts to listener] [exploitation] [mentions of dubious consent] [objectification]
•I NEED YA’LL TO WATXH THIS VIDEO! Oh James was whacking Marcus left and right in this video. But, I will go over the key points of this video.
Marcus gets brought in to speak with James.
James informs Marcus that he is aware of everything that has been done by him. Marcus plays stupid but James proceeds to list off everything that he has done to the Android.
He says that Marcus has made the Android desire him romantically and sexually. Despite being confronted by the consequences of his actions, Marcus never did anything to remove the obsession code. He let it continue.
He then lists off his crimes.
Tumblr media
HE SAID THAT MARCUS WAS CONSUMATING THE ANDROID REPEATEDLY 😭 oh that’s so embarrassing.
He tells Marcus that he knows about the command and that it’d be best if he didn’t raise his voice at him, again.
“My patience has been worn thinner than your morality. And that’s saying something.” “I had your obsession code removed. Including the backups you tried to hide.”
Marcus tries to tell James that he had no right to but James calls him out. He tells him that he should be the last person to give a morality lesson.
He tells Marcus that we know what he did.
That he’s going to face us.
Marcus doesn’t want to face them but James doesn’t give a fuck.
“They want to see you. And you more than owe them that much.” “Empathy has limits…and you passed mine a long time ago.”
We face Marcus and he gives us his pitiful explanation. He didn’t want us to stop loving him because he loved us. He didn’t think it’d go as far as it did. He wanted to believe that the code could stay. 🙄
James leaves us with Marcus’s fate. And this is exactly what we chose:
“Marcus, in light of your numerous violations of policy, your contract with Ecumene Technology Solutions is immediately and summarily revoked. Your services are no longer needed nor desired. You’ll be held on site until debriefing can occur. I would thank you for your service to the company, but I think all of us know that would ring a bit hollow. Escort him out.”
And as he sobs and apologizes, Marcus is escorted out.
And that’s the last we see of him, ever.
We are left with James.
We have a small conversation with him and he tells us that we’ll finally have access to the data that was in our head.
AND THATS THE END OF MARCUS’S STORYLINE! Omg…that was a lot.
Tumblr media
The rest of the playlist is James and Anton so you guys are safe from that dirty man.
The reason Marcus is hated is because he not only took advantage of the power he had, but he put other people’s lives at risk. He didn’t even care as long as he was loved.
I’m so sorry for any grammar errors or mispellings. I’ll edit this later lmao but here ya’ll go.
Now, hopefully ya’ll get into Project Meridian. Let us all hope that everyone survives and….FUCK YOU MARCUS!

HI HELLO, I FELT BAD CONTINUING THE CONVO IN THE POST BUT OOOOOHHOO YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE FEELING UNWELL ABOUT TSUNA HOPE. I AM INSANE ABOUT HIM.
FIRST OF ALL, I checked the link you sent and oh my god SAME "The Truth Revealed" is an INSANE CHAPTER TO ME. Tbh Future arc is one of my favorite arcs in KHR all together. I don't think I ever recovered from Tsuna waking up in a fucking coffin. Like I think that irreversibly altered my brain chemistry I havent been the same. My brains been spinning since i saw that. To find out that TYL Tsuna planned it in the Truth Revealed??? Like WHO is TYL TSUNA. WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM. Like you pointed out that Lal yelled out at Tsuna wasnt like that, but to find out he was?? oh my GOD. Like it makes me wonder how much stress TYL Tsuna was under or how he came to the point that he felt like this was the only solution they could pull off. I think there's an addition that Irie did say that Byakuran would've found a way to bring the younger gang to the future anyway must have absolutely added to TYL Tsuna's stress and desire to get his younger self ready before Byakuran decided it was time before he was. Like I need to know IS HE HAPPY LIKE YOU SAID. I HOPE THIS MAN FINDS PEACE GOD KNOWS HE DESERVES IT. This is more of a headcanon than any solidified proof, just a GUT feeling. But I have to feel as if TYL Tsuna's actions being so... like that had to do with TYL Reborn's death. We know that they're close and Rainbow arc shows us that Tsuna would lift the entire world on his back if it saved Reborn. I can't help but theorize the mental state TYL Tsuna was in, after losing Reborn. Seeing how..hotheaded Tsuna can get about Reborn in Rainbow Arc and how he willingly goes to the Inheritance Ceremony for Yamamoto.. I can see him conjuring a plan like this to fuck the shit out of Byakuran post Reborn death, or even just for the possibility of getting Reborn back. But this is just a headcanon again. Either way?? Im FOAMING at the mouth with you.
As for the rest of our discussion, first of all I lost my shit when you sent the manga panel of Reborn looking shocked but holy shit i didnt connect those dots that Reborn was ?? shocked?? that Tsuna was going along with it. And that its coming from a place of anger and vengeance from Tsuna, which isn't usual for him but fuck they attacked his family. As you mentioned, they crossed that firm line drawn in the sand and Tsuna was going for their throat this time bc how dare they? When, in Tsuna's eyes, Yamamoto was done NOTHING wrong to his attacker. As for Tsuna becoming Vongola Decimo and how he would've been shackled, this is actually something we discussed in our server as well. The conclusion I ended up coming with is that in the end it didn't matter to Tsuna. He was seeing red. He was furious. He was willing to sacrifice everything, even his own freedom from the Mafia to avenge Yamamoto. It's either that he was so blinded by rage that he didn't consider the consequences of his actions, or even worse he was willing to take up the mantle of Vongola Decimo if it meant catching the person who did this to Yamamoto. For Yamamoto's sake, he would be Vongola Decimo. AND THAT IDEA??? OOOHHHH. UGHHHH. THERES SO MUCH TO TSUNAS CHARACTER AND IT DRIVES ME MAD BC HE SEEMS SO SIMPLE AT FIRST LOOK. AND IM??? IM AAAAH YKNOW??
[follow up to this post]
the future arc isn't personally my favorite, but i totally get the people for whom it is. the writing for it is really solid and really steps up from what we had so far, and i DO love so much that first part of the arc up to the end of the merone base raid.
you know, at times like this i wish i'd remember what my reaction was to it the first time i read it too, but my memory is shit lol. but i don't need to to agree it was so iconic and insane of amano to make tsuna appear in the future in a coffin. like not only it's the first thing we learn about the future, but also the first thing we learn about his future. that ten years later he's dead. absolute fucking power move from amano, like hello??
but also, while we're on the subject... this literally just came to me so idk if i'm going to be articulate about this lol, but i think there's something to be said about how the first thing we learn about tyl tsuna is that he's dead. and then he stays dead throughout the arc, mentioned and talked about, judged and defended, praised and blamed, but it all happens through other people. everything we learn about him, every choice (or lack thereof) and decision attributed to him, every glimpse into his personality and what kind of man he was, we learn all of it it through someone else's words. through someone else's eyes, and tho we're given no reason to doubt they're saying the truth, they can only be biased as they say it. like, amano could have made him appear through flashbacks, but she didn't. she gave him no physical appearance, no face, no voice. and then when she does do that (tho even then she still gives him no face), he only talks about his present self. has only words for him. and idk what is there to say about all that, but i know it's relevant to the themes of the future arc.
I think there's an addition that Irie did say that Byakuran would've found a way to bring the younger gang to the future anyway must have absolutely added to TYL Tsuna's stress and desire to get his younger self ready before Byakuran decided it was time before he was.
you're right! i tend to overlook that bit of information, but it is canon that either way, the present 10th gen would have found themselves in the future. so for tsuna to decide he'll be the one to make it happen and have control over it instead of byakuran, was of course the right choice to make. the safest one, both for them and their present selves. as well as the kindest one, because of course, tsuna didn't just bring them to the future to leave them to die in it, the way byakuran would have done. he came up with a plan to make sure they were ready to face the future like you said, and would be strong enough to see it through. and the plan was still harsh and painful and arguably cruel on them, but it still was kindness from tsuna at the same time. consideration for the situation he had no choice but to get them involved in. it was him taking responsibility for it and sparing them the worse of it as much as he could and as much as realistically possible. and maybe it made little difference, but it's still more than byakuran would have allowed them for sure, and it did play a non-negligible part in them not only surviving the future, but coming out on top of it.
you know... for some reason i've always thought tsuna was level-headed when he agreed to go along with the plan. like of course his hands were being forced as he was backed against a corner, facing a hopeless and desperate situation, but in my head he still had himself together somehow. sat and considered the pros and cons of the plan with a cool head, before deciding it was worth the gamble.
but like. knowing tsuna, it's much more likely he hadn't, you're right. that he was standing on the brink, and maybe had already fallen from it. i mean, yamamoto's dad got killed, his parents were unaccounted for, vongola's hq fell and vongola was hunted, namimori was invaded and every people there connected to him hunted too, forcing kyoko and haru to be on the run, with lambo and i-pin after them to keep them safe when they were just fifteen but still forced to take part in a literal war. tsuna had already lost so much by that point, while still being at risk of losing much more. and at the same time, he had already lost the worst thing he could lose, because of course, there's also reborn. reborn who also died, who also got killed when he's the one person who's always been by his side, who's always been his rock and anchor, who's always known how to give him strength again when his own failed him. and MY gut feeling headcanon is that reborn died not too long before tsuna put the plan in motion. maybe even died only just a couple of days before that, and that was the last straw, the deciding factor that made tsuna go along with the plan.
so like. maybe tsuna was heartbroken and crestfallen when he made that decision. maybe it was an entirely emotional one, one he made out of spite and vindictive feelings for byakuran like you said. out of fear he'll end up with nothing more left to lose, and out of his guilt for letting things come to that point and not being in a position--not having the power to make things right again. a decision he made out of his grief and the desperate hope he could get back everything he lost. the hope he could get reborn back. and okay, consider this, but independently of whether it was the right thing to do or of the chances of the plan to be successful, maybe he simply agreed to it too out of the certainty it's what present tsuna would have done too. that it's what he'd have wanted too, that he would have taken any chance that might bring reborn back to him. because it's reborn. oh i'm soo normal about this and their bond.
For Yamamoto's sake, he would be Vongola Decimo.
YOU CANT JUST SAY THAT TO ME LIKE I HAVENT THE SOFTEST SPOT FOR YAMS AND TSUNA. oh my god. oh my god??? for yamamoto's sake... for yamamoto. and i mean, i know tsuna would have done the exact same thing for any of his other guardians, but that amano chose to go along with yams instead of any other guardian... like again, i do very much believe tsuna would have reacted the same way were it anyone else, but at the same time i really do very much believe the fact it was yamamoto played a part in his anger and resolve to avenge him. i really can't explain it, but like. it's yamamoto, you know?
NO I KNOW!!!! tsuna is... he's so easy to overlook and deem unworthy of a second glance, but if you DO look back at him, and then really look at him, you can't stop and can't look away. and the longer you look, the more there is to look at. which is even more insane because at his core tsuna still is truly, really just some guy. he's just a complex character in very simple ways i guess??
anyway yeah, i need to LIE DOWN now, thanks.

Been a long time since I sent an ask but I'm hoping for your forgiveness xD
Anyway, I've been in a Stannis staning mood recently and remembered a theory.
Apparently the reason Stan is popular is because he serves as the replacement Ned Stark due to his strict adherence to honor, law and morality. Any thoughts?
I do see similarities but I've always felt them to be different people. They had respect for each other yes, but were never really friends.
Plus their flaws and shortcomings are different. Ned could have prevented the war by not telling Cersei but he was too merciful of a person for that. Stannis greatest mistakes and vile deeds came almost always when he compromised on his code.
I guess what Game of Thrones teaches is that both good and evil deeds, both selfish and selfless actions can have negative consequences. People don't act in isolation, the results always depend on how other people react.
While they both are characters that fully believe that "What's right is right", the are some key differences between them.
The first and most important one can summed up in an exchange that happened between Davos and Stannis:
"What is the life of one bastard boy against an entire kingdom?"
"Everything."
Ned covered up the truth about Jon being Lyanna's son with Rhaegar, spoke out against the plan to kill Daenerys (who was 14 and pregnant at the time), and refused to just let Cersei's children be executed despite knowing that they were bastards born of incest. All of that was because his honor and his idea of what's right says that protecting the weak and innocent is his obligation - especially if said weak and innocent are children.
Stannis meanwhile was fully ready to kill Dany and Viserys as children, nearly burned Edric Storm alive, and will 100% kill any of Cersei's bastards if he ever comes across them. That is because Stannis's morals are all about the good of the real and the rules of society.
This isn't always bad - he is sexist and racist, but won't allow his men to rape women of the free-folk because to become a rapist is to become a dishonarable man, and he won't tolerate that kind of shit.
But it also means that he is fully okay with Melisandre burning people alive because her God told her to and (more importantly) plenty of said people were enemies of his that were breaking the law by supporting other kings. Why would he have a problem with that? What's the difference between burning people in the name of Rhollor and stabbing a bunch of them to death in the name of the Seven/the king? War is war, and sacrifices have to be made.
Ned meanwhile will NOT accept that kind of thing. He has killed people before, and he WAS willing to let Cersei and her children be executed if she didn't run away with - but he still gave her the warning. He gave them a chance to survive. To end this conflict without anyone's death being necessary. Stannis meanwhile fucked off to prepare for war.
Another key difference between them is that Ned is much more forgiving in general, and especially with the people he cares about. He killed the guy who deserted the Night's Watch, but only because he did not believe his story about the White Walkers attacking them - if he had, the guy would have lived and not suffered any punishment. Ned was also not okay with cheating, excessive drinking, or people neglecting their responsibilities - but he was best friends with Robert, the guy who full on said "Hey, be my Hand, so you can do all the work for me while I eat, fuck and drink."
Can anyone even imagine Stannis Baratheon EVER letting someone get away with saying that kind of crap to him? For fuck's sake, Davos is his best friend AND smuggled food to Stannis in a siege in which he nearly died... and Stannis still cut off Davos's fingers as punishment for the crime of being a smuggler.
We also have the fact that, while Ned didn't really understand the Game Of Thrones. Like, at all. He legit thought Cersei wouldn't stab him in the back after he said "I know about the treason, incest, and I'm also gonna accuse you of murder." Stannis never made that kind of mistake. He despises the empty flattery and courtesies their society relies on, yes, but he always makes sure he has some card up his sleeve that allows him to get away with not enganging on that part of the game.
This also connects to another thing: Stannis changed, Ned did not. Ned Stark died because he could not addapt to the place he was at, not even long enough to just get enough time to go back to Winterfell and leave Robert holding his dick. Stannis meanwhile addmited that Davos and Jon Snow were right - just going "Fuck you, I'm the king, bow to me!" was not working, would likely never work, and if he wanted people to support him, he'd need to change tactics and help them with their problems instead of focusing just on his. He went from the king that even rejected, and who despised his subject, to "the king who cared." Quite the drastic change.
Finally, we also have ANOTHER way in which Stannis changed, and that ties into something he does NOT have in common with Ned: the way they handle being the second son.
Stannis went from sleeping with Melisandre just because it was necessary (both in the sense of "the red God wants it" and "It will kill your rival in a second"), to not so subtly bragging about the fact that she is his mistress and that she scares the fuck out of everyone but is his loyal servent.
This "sudden" change happened because, while Stannis never really asked to be king, he was always the unloved child. The one who was too difficult to deal with. The one who just needed to lighten up a little. The one who didn't have Robert and Renly's charisma. The king NOBODY wanted.
And then here comes Melisandre, telling the is the literal chosen one. The most important man in the whole world. The one who will save everyone and be seen as a legend forever and ever. And he buys into that pleasant lie because it validates all the anger, resentment and loneliness he felt all these years, and tells him "It was not your fault, you were right all along. Everyone else was the problem, not you"
Ned meanwhile, despite loving Catelyn and the life they had together, would often get all melancolic over the fact that he was not supposed to be the heir, the ruler of Winterfell. And when Robert comes in offering to give him MORE power, MORE responsibility, MORE of a great status, he fucking hates it. Unlike Stannis, Ned doesn't resent the time he spent in his brother's shadow as the "least important one." He seems to miss it and the safety it brought to him.
Which is why he often refused to play the game, unlike Stannis. Playing is the only way to have even a CHANCE of winning. And when you play the game of thrones, you win or you die.

no actually im gonna scream about s12ep2 “hit and run”, and about cunningham and rogers (the two green team soldiers who die on tucker’s mission)
Tumblr media
cunningham and rogers have such an astronomical impact on the plot and they’re NEVER FUCKING TALKED ABOUT?? them dying left palomo as the only remaining member of green team, which is the only reason he became tucker’s lieutenant. their deaths were tucker’s wake-up call (a lot of ppl argue that wash’s absence was tucker’s wake-up call, but tucker didn’t realize he was an incompetent, immature leader until he had to lead that mission)
tucker was directly responsible for their deaths when he chose to stray from the plan to seek out information on where the federal army was keeping wash donut and sarge. cunningham and rogers dying was the first signal to tucker that “oh shit, this is an actual war and there are actual consequences”. this mission was the catalyst for tucker’s development over the chorus trilogy and, i cannot stress this enough, we as a fandom really never namedrop cunningham and rogers??
the thing is like, they’re such tragic characters. how fucking tragic is it that they died just after, and as a result of, meeting the reds and blues. they never saw the end of the war. they never felt the hope the reds and blues brought to chorus. to everyone who survived the war the reds and blues were heroes, but imagine trying to tell that to cunningham and rogers and all the unnamed other cunninghams and rogers that died on missions gone wrong. they'll never know if their sacrifice made a difference in the end they just had to have faith aint that a bitch etc etc., epsilon’s end speech runs through the blood and bones of the chorus trilogy, the whole planet is full of epsilons and cunninghams and rogers. cunningham and rogers will never know the impact they had on tucker, or the truth about felix, or that the new republic would join forces with the feds. could you IMAGINE trying to tell them that??? do you know how insane you'd sound??
that mission they were on with tucker was TUCKER'S ENTIRE TURNING POINT, his first "i feel like every decision i make is the worst" moment, but cunningham and rogers and even “hit and run” as a whole are NEVER FUCKING TALKED ABOUT???
“hit and run” sets the whole tone for the season and is SUCH a good reflection of rvb’s core message!! the episode starts out with silly banter and the kind of boring military workplace antics that rvb is so good at, and when cunningham dies? that’s when shit gets real. that’s when both tucker and the audience know shit is real. it hits like a fucking truck, it feels like “oh.” and a sinking feeling in the stomach and blood running cold, everything goes so wrong so fast, it showcases rvb’s core message of “war is brutal and every soldier is just some guy underneath the helmet”
blows my fucking mind, justice for them god damn dude, put some respect on my boys’ names

lark.-san, can you explain two things to me 1- what are the different problems that world representatives or their worlds have to solve as such because when I look I feel that some may be similar I don't know I don't remember very well (I ask the question because I It's hard to believe that they created an entire world for nirai kanai and bora bora instead of merging it, not counting the few units as such, it's a tribe, they're not going to show more characters either, I think) 2_seriously simurgh threatens the mc all the time? You can translate it to see, I mean, you already translated Fuxi's and knowing him, it's obvious that you're telling the truth in the last publication, but I don't think simurgh is yes all the time, right? (looks awkwardly)
1.) So like the issues that the exiles would've left because of?
-Takamagahara has an issue with exposing everyone and we don't know enough about Amaterasu to know what her issue is.
-Wa no Kuni has an issue with racism against non-humans and Yoritomo has issues with his paranoia and jealousy towards Yoshitsune.
-Kamuy Kotan has an issue with never changing and sacrificing young children and Korpokkur has an issue with hyper-focusing on innocence.
-Eden has an issue with blind faith and striving for perfection and if I had to guess Michael's issue is his blind loyalty and his refusal to question anything in Eden.
-I'm not too sure about Gehenna, but ranking seems to be an issue there and I don't know about Mephistopheles yet besides his inability to understand humans.
-Garo Demana's issue is that there's only good and evil there, no middle-ground or in-between, so once you step out of line, you'll be villainized and chased out.
-I guess Penglai's issue would be the constant revolutions and floods, but idk if that could actually be fixed and Fuxi has an issue with not treating Nüwa as an equal because she's younger and his tendency to just watch things happen.
-Olympus' issue is hierarchy and that they only see value in those in Cronus' bloodline. Oh, also, the pettiness and incest ig.
-Great Spirit's issue might have something to do with the "united" mentality there which causes anyone who thinks or acts differently to be chased away or ostracized.
-El Dorado's issue is the sacrifices and Tezcatlipoca just doesn't know when to let go.
-I don't remember enough to comment on the Old Ones, but they were always destined for failure.
-Not sure about Tir na NÒg, but ig Balor has an issue with TAKING COWS THAT DON'T FUCKING BELONG TO HIM forcing fate upon his grandchild and taking their right to choose away from them.
-Not sure about Shangri-La, but Smoky God's issue was his obsession with saving Asura when he should've let go and realized that Asura was the only one capable of doing that.
-I don't remember Deva Loka, but I think Shiva was too focused on his training there and didn't actually enjoy anything.
-Utopia's issue is that people are destroying themselves (and others) to progress faster.
-Kitezh's and Perun's issue is that they refuse to accept death and seperation, so they pretty much hold people hostage there.
-I'm not sure about Nirai Kinai, but it seems like Teda's responsibility as the sun king is the issue because he feels obligated to never express love for a single person, which Kinmamon didn't like.
And I don't remember/know enough about the rest to comment.
2.) Simurgh legitimately threatens MC once, maybe twice, and any other times he does it's just half-kidding remarks.

The raw emotion that came from the acting in this stream had me in shambles what the heck? Tommy can cry so well-
Anyway, this stream was pretty crazy for a few reasons. Firstly would be just the flood of world building lore that was shoved into my brain through my ears. So Dream and Punz have been secretly experimenting with the entire world itself it is in the brink of falling apart due to all the destruction caused by the DSMP members. When they said “they fucked up” I got chills thinking about what they could have possibly done.
Dream’s lack of empathy is so infiltrating as usual. Some people are born without the ability to feel empathy but Dream takes it the next level. He doesn’t care about people or their individual dreams. He thinks those are meaningless when the answers to the truth of the entire world are right there to take. He and Punz are dead set on playing god and don’t care what they need to do to achieve that. It’s even hinted at that Ranboo was one of their test subjects and that they have the power of mind control? I like how Tommy’s reaction to Ranboo being the one to set off explosives in the prison, leading to Tommy’s ultimate death in the prison wasn’t anger at Ranboo but fear for what Dream could’ve done to him.
Tommy sacrificing his discs to escape was such a chad move. We knew this day would come where Tommy would need to make the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of himself and his best friend. It was a perfect setup in my opinion. Well almost perfect. The blooper had me wheezing. Just the *cough cough ahem ahem* had me laughing out loud, I can’t believe that happened. I love that they laughed about it and then went back into character soon after.
The payoff for the Tubbo nuke arc is finally underway. We still don’t know what happened to the nuke that was stolen, but Tubbo had the remaining missile ready. Tubbo’s fear through all of this especially when Tommy talks about sacrificing himself… the poor beeboi. How is he gonna be happy when the person who means the most to him is dead? Does Tommy even know that Ranboo died? Tubbo has Michael but I don’t think Tubbo displayed much concern for Michael (which I think was a bit odd). If Tommy’s plan succeeds, what will Tubbo have left?
So yeah, great shit all around here. A lot to think about, a lot to brainrot about. Hopefully the final finale is just as good.

[parasocial bestie] am going thru hte ask and methinks everything's settled and now we can go bac to square one of our routine braining i think <333 ALSO I SAW THE POST ABT THE. DNI with me unless you are a perfect clone of me like REAL SO REAL altho we have diff interpretation on things icb i did manage to find someone out of pure coincidence who likes 98% of what i like abt xlmi and genshin in entirely i just <3333333 like EEEEEEEEEEEEEE i finally have a reason to take my mind off twitter. tumlr ur always hte man 4 me. anyway
"its just part of his life part of his duty nothing more and nothing less. but that doesnt stop the shame that comes with anything he perceives as failure" OH GOD YEAH THAT IS SUCH AN EXCEPTION he holds high standards of what he does to ppl but not what he does for himself. it just feels so fucking painful abt xiao's character never considering himself in everything Except when it comes to other ppl to the point he goes for self sacrifice is SO!!! and yet what he does hold such noble intentions of a selfless hero even by the means of thankless acts, that he'll never be a figure to be worshipped and known as much as other adepti do. "After living for so long... to die in the act of saving others would not have been a terrible thing." is always a line that gets me about his character in entirety that he really needs to see things in another perspective too.
"it may not be the Main focus but zhongli and xiao's relationship in this fic is basically the second biggest focus beyond xiao himself/the xiaolumi of it all tbh" even before The Brainrot Festivals GOD WE ARE SHARING THE BRAIN. ive always had this impression since the start i knew of xiao those years ago, how important zhongli is as that certain figure in his life; a master a mentor a guardian just someone who reflect on his life for experiencing the same thing. but xiao doesnt know that well about zhongli, about morax, and how much the guy's changed and felt the need itd be better for xiao himself to change too. it doesnt have to be the same, for what zhongli tries to teach him, it had to be something that makes his life at least, if not bearable, is simply for xiao to be comfortable and free of suffering bc the guy doesnt let himself to. and dkfksajhdas i explore this sm though brainrots and all the different scenarios like when i told u about them going fishing, and then there's the very Very important chain of events i had in mind how it is when xiao coped about rex lapis' death and what happened after knowing.
it's a little embarrassing to explain how but like yknow my tendency to just Hurt Xiao in ways not completely whump but in a form of vulnerability he truly needs that attention and care bc of his routines and duty are slowly eating him inside out. vulnerabilities of his emotional detachment affecting his body that makes him so human. i think abt how he supresses so much in the past pre-morax he genuinely doesnt know how to express anymore, and when he does, its a sensation so overwhelming that his body isnt used to it anymore with the catharsis all the fight and flight responses the adrenaline giving him the chest pain of just,.. having emotions yknow. and the death of the yakshas the disappearance of bosacius all had different magnitudes of emotion that the death of rex lapis affected him so much being the last straw of it all, how it all crashes down when exuvia fell and not rising back up again giving him that strong reaction then he Overworks To Cope.
then comes the time zhongli came to the balcony (in canon he reveals the truth in dreams,.. but i Like the two that they have a diff confrontation bc of how much zhongli knows xiao back then until the present) to tell everything, just for the revelation to hit xiao like a truck the pain the catharsis the exhaustion Everything hes been through the past few days where zhongli prolonged saying the truth now hit him that his body couldnt take it all and just shuts down. like boom he collapsed. and that's not a good reaction at all, and yet the yaksha recovers (as much as he managed, despite how weak it rendered him), assuring he's ok, trying to dismiss it with the same numbness that plagued him since morax saved him. back to square one. mf factory resetted himself, starting over. rex lapis is alive and thats good in all things thats it, all the unwilling attempts in processing it are now useless. and it brings a whole new story of how zhongli sees this all unfold altogether.
and i just,... shniffsniff....... think about what comes after, bc zhongli is not gonna let that slide even if he's pretending as a mortal even if he has to spend most of his time in the harbor since he wants to, but he also wants the best for xiao; the only one who hasnt let go of the past and accept change like the adepti does bc he doesnt know how. and its through the little things; giving the remedium, be it through posting or directly to the inn (id like to think verr goldet is the only one who knows by mere guess hes rex lapis, but respects his decision to step down no matter the reason, and zhongli trusts her immensely on the secret in exchange he becomes that special balcony visitor. an unspoken agreement o both of them.), the times xiao blacks out from karma and he wakes up on bed in his personal room in the inn with cold tea by the bedside. when he finishes his battle in the middle of heavy rain, drenched and cold, and he feels the bullets on his shoulder stop from the shield of an umbrella behind him; zhongli doesnt say anything more than to advise him of proper shelter nearby. when he finds xiao curled up, knees on his chest in his own needed respite, in pain but also in shame, zhongli takes the time to simply kneel and pat his head and keep him company until xiao can quietly teleport away. like god do you have any idea how much i love the thought of parental zhongli or at least a zhongli who Cares like can you tell
anyway icb thats enough for me to go on 4 paragraphs longer than i intended OK MOVING ON EVERYTHING YOU EXPLAIN ABOUT XIAOS WINGS,... GOD its the way it makes sense it makes so much sense he'd rather have any semblance of his past severed to build himself anew but its kinda funny too. that he intends as such and yet he also doesnt; still thinking himself as sinful as he was as the bloodhound who deserves all the punishment when the whole point of starting anew is Not Doing That and actually continue as a fresh warrior with new roles and new things to do without counting the past. like WHAT BRO
personally id go for the first one bc i still like the thought he keeps them for the mere sentimentality and i feel like he wouldnt bear to lose the only thing he wants to hold on about a childhood he lost before, even if he doesnt remember it. the mere thought of it existing providing him that sort of painful comfort its still there, even if seeing it hurts knowing he cant taste the joy of flight anymore. having flight being out of reach and he'd have constant reminders of it is just that little sign xiao never really moved forward even in the beginning o)-( he doesnt even summon it after it recovered, doesnt even pay attention while people tended it, only finding the solace of it existing at his back. and yknow for the Pain Points i actually thought that after it had been mangled so bad xiao never actually showed it to anyone its condition despite his human body recovered and he purposely Dismisses Its There than just Knowing, and its only when the pain of it being untreated becomes unbearable and at the right topic being brought up did he reveal them. guizhong had been so terrified of its condition, so pitied and devastated that they werent told and xiao was so small so young hes a child hes a child and he revealed them without an change in his expression to the moment he falls from the pain. the way he speaks of his wings as a mere fact it existed. and at some point in her grief to him she felt the need to just,.. restore his flight by making mechanical wings bc she just knew his real ones wont support him anymore even after treatment. and morax himself shared the exact sentiment, the two standing forlornly and the half-progress blueprints guizhong spent day and night in her tears to just give xiao back what he lost.
other bits im just AUUUUUUUUEUEUHUSHFVUFBKDSHFKJSDFKH SO TRUE SO TRUE UEEEEEEEEEEE CUS I RAN OUT OF BRAIN JUICE WRITING THE OTHERS. like i hope u get da message. i rlly spend everything on two things JDFHKSDJFHKSDJH ok but wait "learning to feel human learning to live as mortal people do learning the values of life itself learning how to love the little things" LIKE MAN....................................... also giggling wit u thats the problem on the theory when 500 yrs had passed then wats the use of scouting, hows the other world going bro? 500 yrs late and alrd destroyed? yeah
teehee
"i finally have a reason to take my mind off twitter" YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH and in the end isnt that the most important thing of all… LMAO no but genuinely so so so glad bc ur right the sheer Coincidence of liking so many of the same aspects of this game i love it so bad we're so cool and epic for this fr
"never considering himself in everything Except when it comes to other ppl to the point he goes for self sacrifice" yeah o(-( THE NOBLE INTENTIONS THE THANKLESS ACTS… dies a little bit. AND YEAH THAT FUCKING LINE KILLS ME EVERY TIME ITS SO. IM SO. IM SO.
"a master a mentor a guardian" HE IS SO IMPORTANT TO XIAO AND THEY ARE SO IMPORTANT TO ME !!!!!!!!! and ohhh my god xiao not realizing how much has changed and that zhongli thinks itd be for the better if xiao changed too… trying to teach him how to be comfortable and how to suffer less………..
"my tendency to just Hurt Xiao in ways not completely whump but in a form of vulnerability he truly needs" NO BC UR SO BASED FOR THIS imo xiao is like. either a) you have to really Get In There and take his walls down brick by brick with so much patience and care, or b) something uncontrollable has to come in and smash those walls to pieces all at once, to the point where he needs the help from others where he has no choice but to let people in and be vulnerable around them. specific people cant really try to force it, i REALLY dont think that would work at all i think thatd make things so much worse, but either lots of patience and care or smth that isnt done Purposefully By Anyone Else for the sake of him opening up yknow??
"bc his routines and duty are slowly eating him inside out" NO BEACUSE YEAH. YEAH. GOD. his karma :handshake: his duty settling on his shoulders consuming his life eating away at him so slowly but surely. and what would he do without them? who would he be without them? he doesnt even know. he thinks there'd be nothing left but there'd be so much and then so much room for him to grow, too, and i just. i just. fmgnmdfngmfdg.
THE CHEST PAIN OF EMOTIONS repressing so much he literally just doesnt know what to do with it im so. Explodes. that last fucking straw after centuries of hardship is something that can be so. AND XIAO TRYING TO DISMISS IT WHEN HE FLAT OUT COLLAPSES being ashamed to have been so """weak""" as for that to have happened going back to square one with feeling numb im so. and the way that changes zhongli's perception of everything ohhhhh my god. xiao going from someone so strong and resilient, every bad thing seemingly rolling off without stopping him, only to realize that while he is strong and he is resilient everything that he seemed to have dealt with on his own has just. made its way into his chest and festered there, buried and ignored and rotting, eating him alive bit by bit.
"but he also wants the best for xiao, the only one who hasnt let go of the past and accepted change like the adepti do bc he doesnt know how" THISSSS he doesnt know how. god. GOD. xiao seemingly so detached from the past, he himself not realizing just how much he clings to it the fact that he's still living in it something something a house on fire something something being so used to something that you dont realize its not supposed to hurt this much, its not supposed to feel this way.
"(id like to think verr goldet is the only one who knows by mere guess hes rex lapis)" THIS FUCKS i support this wholeheartedly it makes a lot of sense and mmmmm the mutual respect and trust they have for one another even unspoken…. the care they have for xiao the gratitude that someone is looking after him in ways they themselves are unable to do…. explodes.
BLACKING OUT AND WAKING UP ON HIS BED ohhh my god. there is osmething So Personal about all of that about zhongli not always actively Doing Something or Saying Anything but just BEING there being around xiao showing that he cares that xiao isnt alone. fuck. I CAN TELL AND I LOVE IT SO BAD ITS SO GOOD idk i like. i rly liked the idea?? but it takes more of a push for me to really Think About and brainrot parental characters or guardian figures and everything youve ever said abt them has made me go from "yeah that fucks, nice" to "yeah that FUCKS let me think about every scenario ever on earth with them now" which i am so grateful for <3333
"still thinking of himself as sinful as he was as the bloodhound who deserves all punishment when the whole point of starting anew is Not Doing That" YEAHHHHH man said alright let me sever all ties let me cut myself loose. except for every awful thing i have ever done which will live with me in my heart forever amen. king PLEASE
and god yeah wanting to hold on even without remembering it, that painful comfort the constant reminder of what he once had and never will again and IT BEING A SIGN THAT HE NEVER TRULY MOVED FORWARD…. man. Man. guizhong being so horrified and sympathetic, mourning for him when he cannot mourn for himself, MECHANICAL WINGS……. thinks so hard about those blueprints gathering dust, not quite perfected, eternally unfinished. thinks so hard about the traveler someday stumbling across them, or zhongli after his retirement digging them up again, either way them going to each other with the knowledge and searching for someone who could help make them a reality, working with perhaps inventors from fontaine and getting venti's blessing similarly to how its his power that allows the wind gliders to work (i think??) and using the traveler's knowledge from other worlds and familiarity with flight and determination to help xiao regain what was lost.
i like to think that where lumine is awfully fond of nature aether excels with machinery, maybe she could use what she'd learned from him or maybe he himself In The Aftermath if things go well enough could help and just. god. polishing up those finishing touches making them work testing them out. xiao being able to fly again. xiao healing enough mentally to be able to bring himself to even try fly again.
